- 0:03Happy Tuesday morning, everybody.
- 0:07Drinking my high octane coffee fueled by Sunoco.
- 0:13Doesn't that sound awesome? Well, it's almost Showtime,
- 0:18everybody. That's this time of the year
- 0:20when everybody lays their tools down and goes home.
- 0:26Christmas is next week and that leads me to this.
- 0:31I've always told everybody I said, boy, if you don't got
- 0:33things done by now, you better just wait till the middle of
- 0:37January cause corporate America, the CEO's, the, you know,
- 0:43president of marketing, everybody's getting ready to,
- 0:47you know, head South. They going to Florida, they
- 0:50going to take a vacation. So that leads me to this.
- 0:56When I was in NASCAR in, oh gosh, back in 1984, for all you
- 1:02kids, you'd get around, I don't know, 4-5 o'clock.
- 1:08Let's just pretend you're at Daytona for, you know, Daytona
- 1:11Speed Weeks. And you know, in my era, 1984,
- 1:16you had guys like Bill Gazaway, then Billy Gazaway, two brothers
- 1:21that kind of ran the garage area, Dick Beatty, Les Richter
- 1:28and, you know, and then Big Bill France or Bill France Junior.
- 1:32But they were country guys and talking about right now with
- 1:37Christmas next week and everybody getting ready to get
- 1:39off work in the corporate into the big companies and everything
- 1:45you get towards the end of the day, qualifying be over,
- 1:48practice be over. And they come over the
- 1:49loudspeaker and in that country voice.
- 1:53Oh, oh, Gaz away. He grabbed the microphone for
- 1:57the whole garage area and he'd say, gentleman, lay your tools
- 2:03down and go home. Garage opens up at 6:00 in the
- 2:08morning. Hey, my buddy David, if he was
- 2:14my crew chief, you know, like 1989 ninety David, if he was,
- 2:20you know, mechanic of the year, he was the crew chief for K
- 2:24Yarborough. He said, Herman, I love NASCAR.
- 2:28They tell you when to come to work and they tell you you need
- 2:30to leave that right? There's some true stories for
- 2:35y'all. So sometimes us racers are
- 2:37guilty of spending too much time in the shop.
- 2:40You know, like, you know, your wife's got to say when are you
- 2:43coming home? Do you love that race car more
- 2:47or me? I always told Kim, Kim, don't
- 2:52ask me that question ever again. She never has.
- 2:57I, I don't, I don't tell her to choose between the wreaths and
- 3:01me. I don't ever do that 'cause
- 3:03that's not fair. She knows she's #1 Ken knows
- 3:06she's number one. But don't, don't tell me quit
- 3:08working on my race car 'cause that's it just puts me in a bad
- 3:13mood, 'cause my race car makes me happy.
- 3:17And I would never dream of telling her, quit working on
- 3:20your wreaths. She tells me all the time, I
- 3:22love working on these wreaths. They make me happy.
- 3:24I'm so OK. But yeah, now with winter
- 3:29setting in and everybody getting ready to take off, you know,
- 3:32they'll take off 3 weeks. They will, they will take off 3
- 3:35weeks. Because my whole life I've had
- 3:37to get, I've had to get sponsorship.
- 3:41And buddy, if you haven't, if you're not done by December
- 3:4422nd, 23rd, it's funny, they will work, they will work
- 3:49further up to Christmas, corporate America.
- 3:53They they will work up to like December 23rd.
- 3:56But buddy, once those sponsors, once they go, OK, it's time to
- 4:01celebrate Christmas, they won't come back.
- 4:06They'll be they'll be good. I mean, you'll get to middle
- 4:09January and they'll go, Oh, I'm, I'm still cleaning my desk off
- 4:14getting back to work here. OK, man, I'm sick.
- 4:21I'm I went to bed. I took one of those big Mucinex,
- 4:24one of those big O's horse pills, took a big horse pill
- 4:27Mucinex. I slept horrible last night, but
- 4:33it's kind of funny. Right as I woke up, I started
- 4:35feeling better. It it's that damn cruise ship
- 4:39and and that airplane. Yet this is that time of year
- 4:43and I, I was on that plane coming back and I was on the
- 4:47plane and was kind of like sleeping, but not.
- 4:49And immediately at that moment felt that sinus drainage.
- 4:52I was like, I was all good. All of a sudden it's like
- 4:54somebody opened a spigot. I could feel it coming down my
- 4:57sinuses. I'm like, oh, I'm sick.
- 5:01And sure enough got that thing in the back of my throat.
- 5:04But I think, I think I've kind of figured it out.
- 5:06Take one of those big old horse pills, Mucinex, that helps you
- 5:09out a little bit. So I think I'm on the road to
- 5:12recovery. But all right, this is the point
- 5:16I wanted to get to, you know, just get into the everybody's
- 5:21wanting to know everybody. Everybody says to you, they say
- 5:26to you or they say to me, what's your deal next year?
- 5:30It's like, what do you mean? What's my deal next year?
- 5:32I'm, you know, for even you, I'm asking you, what's your deal
- 5:35next year, right? You know, you're going to work
- 5:37at your same business. What are you going to do?
- 5:40What's your plan for 2025? I think it's good that everybody
- 5:45has a goal. That's that's imperative in
- 5:47life. If you don't have a goal, you
- 5:50can you can get messed up. So what is your goal for 2025?
- 5:54If you don't have a goal, you better get one.
- 5:56You better. You got to go.
- 5:58Hey, this is what I want to do. So I just want to share my goal
- 6:02with you. My nose is running.
- 6:06Sorry about that. So what the Hell's going on
- 6:11here? Illinois man rides coaster
- 6:1810,000 times. Holy crap.
- 6:22See that? Look there, Illinois man.
- 6:27An Illinois man rides a coaster. Roller coaster 10,000 times.
- 6:33My God, he must have a good brain.
- 6:36I'd go. I'd go crazy.
- 6:38All right, so here's my deal everybody.
- 6:42January 17th through the 27th, I'm going to fulfill a dream of
- 6:46mine. I'm going to Italy.
- 6:49Me and my buddy John Scootoni, remember the guy that I fly in
- 6:53that little SR22 and we go to all the trackside live shows.
- 6:56John Scootoni, he's a good dude. He's eaten.
- 6:59You remember I told you I traded him out?
- 7:01I said, John, you're a cheap ass.
- 7:04You're wanting to sit in the back of the plane, save money.
- 7:07It's 11 hour flight over there to Italy.
- 7:10We're going to land in Rome. I said I'll make a deal with
- 7:13you, I'll pay for both our first class plane tickets, but you let
- 7:17me know where to go. You're my leader, he said.
- 7:20I don't like that idea. So that's what we're going to do
- 7:24now. When I get back January 20,
- 7:26seventeenth, I'll kiss Kim, re clean the clothes and I'm headed
- 7:32to Daytona Beach, FL. We start racing January 30th,
- 7:3731st and February 1st. It's a new schedule at Volusia
- 7:41this year. I don't know why, but we're
- 7:43running dirt racing nine nights. We start January 30th.
- 7:48You're you're going to hear people, you're going to hear
- 7:51racers go. I'm going down in January this
- 7:53year. That's because you race three
- 7:55days. They start racing January 30th,
- 7:5931st, February 1st, then take over, take off that Sunday, then
- 8:03come back Monday, and then we race all the way to the 8th.
- 8:08So I'll be running the Sunoco Dirt car and I'll be driving for
- 8:10Nick Hoffman and I'll be down there in Florida.
- 8:14I'm going to ask Uncle Rusty. I'm going to ask Brother Rusty
- 8:18if I can stay at his house. Man, Rusty's got a beautiful
- 8:21house down there in Daytona. Nice.
- 8:24Probably 1 of the nicest houses I've ever seen.
- 8:26If I was going to build a house, I'd build it just like that.
- 8:29Got like 13 foot ceilings. I think I measured them.
- 8:33Me and brother Russ, I said let's hold this tape measure.
- 8:35I think it's 12912 foot 9 inches.
- 8:38Got a big living room, kitchen all together.
- 8:42I really like that house. I'm going to ask him if I can
- 8:45stay there. He probably won't let me 'cause
- 8:47he probably thinks I'm going to tear his house up.
- 8:50I'll probably end up like a damn Vagabond.
- 8:53Stayed same damn rusted up, broken down a hotel in Florida.
- 8:57Everything's rusted up in Florida, 'cause they got all
- 8:59that humidity. Everything's rust.
- 9:01You already see that you in Florida, everything's rusted.
- 9:04I don't like that. Then remember, we are going to
- 9:09do it again this year. Brian Hammond.
- 9:12Brian Hammond, who's the boss at all the SMI tracks that stands
- 9:17for Speedway Motorsports Incorporated Trackside Live is
- 9:21going to be back. Yes, Siri, myself, John Roberts,
- 9:25Wendy Venturini, Jose Castillo, we're going to, we're going to
- 9:29do like, you know, 810 of those. And then we do the Kenny Wallace
- 9:33Live in September right here for the the NASCAR Cup race.
- 9:39And they got the Xfinity Series coming into Worldwide Technology
- 9:43Raceway here in Saint Louis. So we're going to run the dirt
- 9:46car. We're going to go to Italy.
- 9:49We are going to do all the trackside lives.
- 9:52I'm going to do Sturgis with brother Rusty with the
- 9:55motorcycle. I'm going to do Daytona Bike
- 9:57Week. Kim loves that Kyle Petty
- 9:59charity ride. We're going to take our new
- 10:02trike. We're starting out up there in
- 10:04Michigan, Traverse, Michigan, going to be going down to, you
- 10:09know, going to see like Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Henry Ford
- 10:14Museum. We're going to do a lot of
- 10:16stuff. So doing the Cal Petty charity
- 10:18ride this year we are going to do we're going to go to Cabo.
- 10:25So I think he got he got an idea there what we're going to do.
- 10:28So we'll stay busy. And then of course, we got the
- 10:31Kenny Wallace YouTube show, take some of my time up.
- 10:34And then we got the Herman Schrader on Dirty MO media.
- 10:38So that does take a lot of my time up.
- 10:40I want to thank you all because I never saw this coming in a
- 10:44million years. And at that Herman Schrader
- 10:46show, it's a hit. Thank you very much.
- 10:49It's it's very successful. Numbers are through the roof,
- 10:53all because of you. Kenny Schrader is brilliant.
- 10:56He's awesome. And all right.
- 10:58Holy moly, 11 minutes. All right.
- 11:01Have a great Tuesday, everybody.
