Pioneer Day Returns After Storm
After Tropical Storm Helene wrecked the historic Mountain Gateway Museum in Old Fort, the community rallied to bring back Pioneer Day — the first major public event on the grounds since the disaster. Though the main stone building is still under repair and key structures were lost, the restored grounds now host food trucks, vendors, exhibits, and live music, celebrating the town’s frontier spirit.
