Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: There's a phrase that my sister always uses, and it's
- 0:11Speaker 1: once is never, Twice is always.
- 0:14Speaker 2: So I love that phrase. By the way, I've asked
- 0:17Speaker 2: you a couple of times, what's that phrase.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Let's that phrase again?
- 0:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's if you did something once and that's it,
- 0:24Speaker 1: then it's basically like you never did it happen, Yeah,
- 0:26Speaker 1: because people make mistakes and so it's fine. So it's
- 0:29Speaker 1: a one time thing, but if you do the same
- 0:31Speaker 1: thing twice, then it might as well be always.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes, you do this forever and ever and ever.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a choice that you made and you did
- 0:39Speaker 1: it twice, so now it's yeah, it's no getting around it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: There's no getting around it. And so I mean, there
- 0:45Speaker 1: have been a few instances of this, like in the
- 0:48Speaker 1: news lately even Okay, so here in Fargo, there's somebody
- 0:52Speaker 1: who I've dubbed as the embezzling Battie because, let's face it,
- 0:59Speaker 1: she's hot. If you know, if you've seen the article
- 1:02Speaker 1: about this. I first saw it on in forum or whatever,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and the mugshot like she's a dime piece.
- 1:08Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie, but I call it the embezzling Battie.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And it's because she allegedly let me be closed. Allegedly
- 1:19Speaker 1: she had done some sort of embezzlement situation once and
- 1:24Speaker 1: then the company didn't press charges or something, but then
- 1:27Speaker 1: she got cut because she did it again, and so
- 1:31Speaker 1: once is never twice as always. And then there was
- 1:35Speaker 1: this man in Florida who got one hundred and twenty
- 1:40Speaker 1: free flights by posing as a flight attendant. And so
- 1:45Speaker 1: the very first time he ever did it, posing as
- 1:48Speaker 1: a flight attendant to get a free flight, if he.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Never did it again, it'd be like, wow, you got
- 1:52Speaker 4: away with that one. Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But then he well, not only twice, one hundred twenty times,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and so like that's clearly was just gonna be a
- 1:59Speaker 1: thing for him.
- 1:59Speaker 4: For once is never twice as always.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yes, And Angie and I were talking about these stories,
- 2:04Speaker 2: and I remember thinking, you know, if you're about to
- 2:07Speaker 2: pose as a flight attendant and hop on a plane, right, yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 2: You're adrenaline is going, your heart's probably racing a little bit,
- 2:14Speaker 2: You're nervous. Do you think by about the what what number?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Do you think like, Oh, this is boring, this is easy,
- 2:21Speaker 2: this is every day? Is it like the eighth flight?
- 2:23Speaker 2: You're like, oh, this works. I know I can do now.
- 2:26Speaker 4: No, I think it's by flight three.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You think that.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I think he does it once and he's like, oh
- 2:30Speaker 1: my gosh. Then he's like, let me try to do
- 2:32Speaker 1: it again, gets away with it again. He's like, oh
- 2:34Speaker 1: well then.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Yeah and so yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 1: But when you asked you on Big ninety eight point
- 2:40Speaker 1: seven's Facebook page, what's something you got caught doing once
- 2:44Speaker 1: and then never did it again, So it's like it
- 2:46Speaker 1: never happened.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yes, seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 2:51Speaker 2: There was once upon a time, And I think I've
- 2:53Speaker 2: told this story here on Big ninety eight point seven
- 2:56Speaker 2: now I still forever and always m hmm. I will
- 3:00Speaker 2: say I did not do this. I was just there,
- 3:03Speaker 2: okay with a very good friend of mine. I did
- 3:06Speaker 2: not have the can of spray painting.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Oh, it was a graffiti.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Incident in my younger days that I was a part of.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I did not graffiti the building. I was with my
- 3:15Speaker 2: buddy who did, though, And I never ever participated in
- 3:19Speaker 2: that type of behavior.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Again exactly once is never, So it's like it never
- 3:23Speaker 1: happened for me. I ditched school in sixth grade and
- 3:28Speaker 1: I got caught by a truancy office. No and I
- 3:31Speaker 1: didn't have a good like lie because I.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Was a good kid. I don't know why I even
- 3:35Speaker 4: did it. You know what. I blame Samantha George.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He was my best friend and she was like, let's
- 3:40Speaker 1: ditch school today, and I said yes, And it was
- 3:42Speaker 1: a big mistake. So I never did it again, even
- 3:45Speaker 1: on senior ditch day where the teachers kind of knew
- 3:48Speaker 1: what was up.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I did not ditch school.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Who would have thought, you know, if, Angie, if you'd
- 3:52Speaker 2: have done that one more time, the road you could
- 3:54Speaker 2: have gone down exactly, all right?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight.
- 4:00Speaker 2: What is something you did once, got caught and never
- 4:04Speaker 2: did it again? We have I believe it's pronouncer Omerow.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He commented and said he mooned a police officer, so
- 4:13Speaker 2: not smart, honestly, sorta kind of funny.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm keeping honest, but don't do it. Yeah, Well he
- 4:20Speaker 1: never did it again, and he never happened.
- 4:22Speaker 3: That's right, Jim.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And we did get a lot of these comments, by
- 4:24Speaker 2: the way, Jim shoplifting. He said he was seven and
- 4:27Speaker 2: couldn't sit for a week. That's I was so afraid
- 4:31Speaker 2: of that exact thing. That is, I never have done
- 4:34Speaker 2: that in my life. I was too afraid my father
- 4:37Speaker 2: would just throw me out on Douglas Avenue where I lived.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And leave me there. I was terrified. And then finally,
- 4:44Speaker 3: this one's from Amy and it's a spice. Oh okay,
- 4:47Speaker 3: Amy said she was.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I'll use the phrase getting it on on a courthouse
- 4:52Speaker 2: property in nineteen ninety eight. Wow, this is gonna sound wild.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I wish there was footage, not the act. I want
- 5:01Speaker 2: to see them getting caught.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Their eyes probably just so wide.
- 5:05Speaker 4: But it's like it never happened.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Happened again once is never twice always?
- 5:14Speaker 2: All right, Angie, do you have a little victory from
- 5:17Speaker 2: this morning, maybe over the weekend or just in life
- 5:20Speaker 2: in general.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yes, I safely got my kids to Seattle, Washington to
- 5:26Speaker 1: spend Father's Day with their dad.
- 5:29Speaker 3: That is wonderful.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yes, And they will stay there for two weeks, so
- 5:33Speaker 1: that means I get some alone time, which is a miracle.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Right on. All right, So that begins two days.
- 5:40Speaker 1: That begins today naps and reality TV that I can't
- 5:45Speaker 1: watch in front of my kids. Like I'm very excited
- 5:49Speaker 1: and never excited to spend the first part of summer
- 5:52Speaker 1: with their dads. So it's a win win all around.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm feeling very good. I'm feeling very rested, and I'm happy.
- 5:59Speaker 3: That's wonderful.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Good for you, Thank you. What about you gave victory.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I will tell you this weekend, Corey and I back
- 6:09Speaker 2: to back days made these kebabs on the grill and
- 6:14Speaker 2: we have never done that, I don't think in almost
- 6:17Speaker 2: nine years or ten years, however long we've been together,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I don't know if I have ever made them. And
- 6:22Speaker 2: it's not like it's some Gordon Ramsey esque thing, just
- 6:27Speaker 2: throw some stuff on a stick and throw it on
- 6:30Speaker 2: the grill for like eight minutes.
- 6:31Speaker 3: But it was so good. The first night we had extras.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That we just couldn't quite We didn't have enough skewers,
- 6:37Speaker 2: is what I'm going, Oh okay, and it's like, I'm
- 6:39Speaker 2: not gonna be bothered to do this twice. We did
- 6:42Speaker 2: it the next day and they got the meat all
- 6:46Speaker 2: got to sit in like the in the baggy with
- 6:49Speaker 2: the the marinade, the marinade.
- 6:51Speaker 4: For another day.
- 6:52Speaker 3: It was so fire.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I ate good this weekend all because of my wife's
- 6:56Speaker 2: wonderful prep work.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Kebob, Corey and Gage. That's right.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I like that that's wonderful, Angie.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Your kiddos are gone for two weeks.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Right, two weeks of summer with dad, and so that
- 7:14Speaker 1: means that I have some time to myself. That everybody
- 7:16Speaker 1: kept asking me, like okay, but like how long how
- 7:19Speaker 1: many days do you think it'll be before you're like, oh, man,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I miss the boys.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I predicted I'm predicting bye about bye about tomorrow, maybe Wednesday.
- 7:30Speaker 3: You're gonna be like, oh it is, it's not really
- 7:32Speaker 3: quiet around Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 4: I think probably you're right.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Even last night though, when I was going to bed,
- 7:38Speaker 1: like there are just things that I already like, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I don't have to do that, Like I miss some
- 7:43Speaker 1: things that I do with my boys every night. Like
- 7:46Speaker 1: so every day I give my kids throughout the day,
- 7:50Speaker 1: but then if I don't get them done throughout the day,
- 7:52Speaker 1: like right before bed, we catch up. I give each
- 7:55Speaker 1: of my kids eight hugs a day because I saw
- 7:58Speaker 1: something on TikTok from like a psychologist that said if
- 8:02Speaker 1: you give your kid eight hugs a day minimum, that
- 8:05Speaker 1: that's good for like their happiness and your happiness. So
- 8:09Speaker 1: we do the eight hugs, but then also we play
- 8:11Speaker 1: I can't play this by myself we play.
- 8:12Speaker 4: This game called Ultimate Ninja. Have you ever heard this game?
- 8:16Speaker 3: No? I have no.
- 8:17Speaker 1: What's great about this game is that you just need
- 8:19Speaker 1: your body to do it, and so like you're in
- 8:21Speaker 1: like Ninja pos.
- 8:23Speaker 4: It's not like a board game or anything.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You're in like Ninja Post, standing in a circle, and
- 8:27Speaker 1: you can do it with as many people as you want,
- 8:29Speaker 1: but you can even do it with just two people.
- 8:30Speaker 4: But it's me and my two boys.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And then you have to, like, in one move, try
- 8:35Speaker 1: to do a Ninja move to try to tap the
- 8:38Speaker 1: other person's hand and that's how they get out, and
- 8:40Speaker 1: so you end up kind of in like these twister.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Moves and stuff.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But it's such a fun game and I always feel
- 8:48Speaker 1: like that keeps me, you know, limber and stuff.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And it's gonna be two weeks where I'm not doing
- 8:52Speaker 4: that game anymore.
- 8:53Speaker 1: But that's our favorite, and so I'm gonna be all
- 8:56Speaker 1: stiff and rickety and crickety when they come back.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Ninja Warrior.
- 9:00Speaker 2: An activity you are likely to, Yeah, your kids are.
- 9:05Speaker 1: My favorite thing to do with my kids is play
- 9:07Speaker 1: Ultimate Ninja.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Well, what is an activity that you will miss that
- 9:12Speaker 2: you would maybe miss or what's your favorite activity to
- 9:14Speaker 2: do with your kids.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Let us know.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It's seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 9:19Speaker 2: You want to know one thing I think you will
- 9:22Speaker 2: low key love for the next two weeks. Not having
- 9:26Speaker 2: to feed to other humans, Oh my gosh, for just yourself.
- 9:31Speaker 3: You can just quick go do it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: If you want to make something for just yourself, you
- 9:35Speaker 2: can quick do it. That's like the one of those like, oh,
- 9:37Speaker 2: this part's nice, but this part's nice.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I did order.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I did door dash last night right Blaze pizza.
- 9:47Speaker 4: And it was great And I didn't have to spend
- 9:49Speaker 4: an arm and a leg because it's just for me.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Charlotte. What's one of your favorite activities to do with
- 9:54Speaker 3: your kids.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I weirdly love going grocery shopping with them.
- 9:58Speaker 2: It turns into this little a bench with one trying
- 10:01Speaker 2: to sneak snacks into the cart and the others quizzed
- 10:03Speaker 2: me on dinosaur facts.
- 10:04Speaker 3: In the cereal aisle.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's chaotic, but it's kind of our thing.
- 10:09Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna say. That's chaos to me.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I do not like that we are opposite people, Charlotte,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but I like that this.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Is fun for her.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that sounds cute or whatever.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But that also sounds like my personal h double hockey stix.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I barely like grocery shopping with my wife, much less
- 10:23Speaker 2: with two youngins running.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Right right, Derek, what about you? We have Derek on the.
- 10:28Speaker 1: One I actually like taking him to the park. I
- 10:30Speaker 1: get to run around and tire themselves out while I
- 10:32Speaker 1: just sit there and enjoy the sunshine and talk it
- 10:35Speaker 1: up with some of the other parents.
- 10:37Speaker 4: That's the move.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Sounds like Derek has a dog. Benny, Kenny.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I've gotta say right now, I am not sorry one
- 10:51Speaker 2: bit for what I'm about to say. If you have
- 10:54Speaker 2: the audacity to drive around in a vehicle and not
- 10:59Speaker 2: use your blinker to change lanes, to turn, to make signals, whatever,
- 11:04Speaker 2: all right, there is a special place for you, and.
- 11:06Speaker 3: It is not on the road. I'll tell you that
- 11:11Speaker 3: right now.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I cannot stand laziness.
- 11:16Speaker 3: I don't know why. I am just like this.
- 11:18Speaker 2: There are two the laziest things on earth, littering, not
- 11:25Speaker 2: using your blinker. It is incredible to me that people
- 11:29Speaker 2: have the gall to drive around and not let other
- 11:33Speaker 2: cars on the road know their intentions with their vehicle.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I feel like you're kind of asking for an accident
- 11:40Speaker 1: at that point, it's mind blowing to me. Ah, And
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know what's so funny is that a lot of
- 11:45Speaker 1: cars nowadays they have that Like if you're shifting into
- 11:49Speaker 1: another lane but you don't use your blinker, your car
- 11:52Speaker 1: tries to stop you from doing it, right, I know
- 11:55Speaker 1: my car does where it's.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Like, girl, you're drifting into another lane. Yeah, but that
- 11:59Speaker 4: for me is always that I'm accidentally drifting into another lane.
- 12:02Speaker 4: I always use my blinker.
- 12:04Speaker 2: They have cars now too, where you can actually just
- 12:06Speaker 2: like you don't even have to hit the thing down
- 12:09Speaker 2: and you know, let it sit there. You can just
- 12:12Speaker 2: like flick it and it'll blink three times for you. Oh,
- 12:16Speaker 2: cars that do that now, can you think of anything
- 12:20Speaker 2: more lazy?
- 12:21Speaker 3: I mean truly more lazy than moving your hand an inch?
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you can't do that, what like why
- 12:30Speaker 4: it's just.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't understand the only bad thing that can really
- 12:35Speaker 2: happen with a there's nothing.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I like that try to give yourself.
- 12:39Speaker 2: There is nothing that can go wrong using your blinker
- 12:44Speaker 2: other than I guess we're getting like shut it off.
- 12:46Speaker 2: But using your blinker is a safety thing, and I
- 12:50Speaker 2: just I see too many people doing it on the roadways.
- 12:52Speaker 4: I feel you die on that hill, Gabe.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of people who would be
- 12:56Speaker 3: with me on this.
- 12:57Speaker 2: If you're driving right now and you just turned and
- 12:59Speaker 2: didn't your blinker, I want you to know I saw
- 13:01Speaker 2: it right here eight point seven Studios.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Now, last week I found out what.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I thought was the craziest information of all time. And
- 13:14Speaker 2: I don't know how nuts it was, but I found
- 13:16Speaker 2: out that your air conditioner, the way it works, is like,
- 13:20Speaker 2: we don't create cold air and blow it into our house.
- 13:23Speaker 2: What we really do is remove heat from our house.
- 13:27Speaker 2: That's how the AC works.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yes, And I appreciated that fact. I shared it with
- 13:31Speaker 1: my kids. They thought it was fascinating. So I thought, Gabe,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I would return the favor and give you a little
- 13:37Speaker 1: fun fact.
- 13:38Speaker 3: For me dinner time.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:40Speaker 4: And then you in.
- 13:41Speaker 1: The FM area, if you already knew this, you're smarter
- 13:44Speaker 1: than I am. So have you ever read like in
- 13:46Speaker 1: mystery novels or whatever, they there's like a clue that
- 13:50Speaker 1: throws people off and they're like, oh, well that was
- 13:52Speaker 1: a red herring, that clue didn't count or whatever.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I have heard the term and the phrase, the saying
- 13:57Speaker 2: red herring to this day, I still don't think I
- 13:59Speaker 2: know it.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Well, you're about to find out, my guys.
- 14:03Speaker 1: So a herring is a fish, and when a herring
- 14:06Speaker 1: is preserved by salting and smoking, it turns red and
- 14:10Speaker 1: it smells and it's so pungent that it's a great
- 14:14Speaker 1: diversion to distract hunting dogs from their trail. So a
- 14:19Speaker 1: red herring refers to anything that diverts attention from the
- 14:24Speaker 1: issue at hand. So when you're reading like a mystery
- 14:26Speaker 1: and alve or whatever, it's that that clue was a
- 14:29Speaker 1: red herring because it diverted you from what was actually
- 14:33Speaker 1: happening and how it went down.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I get it over.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, So now you know that's where red herring came from.
- 14:40Speaker 4: And I didn't just like come up with this.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Miriam Webster's official threads account posted this, and so you
- 14:49Speaker 1: can trust Miriam Webster and her dictionary.
- 14:53Speaker 3: And this information.
- 14:57Speaker 2: The other day, I was cleaning up the old face
- 15:00Speaker 2: whiskers here. I wouldn't really say, what would you say
- 15:03Speaker 2: I have I don't have a beard, but I also
- 15:06Speaker 2: don't have just stubble either.
- 15:07Speaker 4: No, you've got facial hair.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I don't know what that's regular old facial hair pretty yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and I don't you know, once a week I'll kind
- 15:15Speaker 2: of trim it down to where it's fairly short, but
- 15:18Speaker 2: nothing crazy. And I was joking with my wife, I said,
- 15:23Speaker 2: you know what, it might be time we're just gonna
- 15:25Speaker 2: go with that straight, that straight stash.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Oh.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yes, I have done, but I don't do frequently.
- 15:33Speaker 2: And she is so used to me kind of really
- 15:37Speaker 2: just doing bits with my facial hair that she doesn't
- 15:41Speaker 2: really care if I were to be clean shaven or
- 15:45Speaker 2: have a beard.
- 15:46Speaker 3: She prefers I got some facial hair there.
- 15:49Speaker 2: But if I didn't have the stash, I don't know
- 15:51Speaker 2: if she would recognize me, right.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I don't know that I would recognize Gabe either.
- 15:57Speaker 2: My father once came to pick up my younger sister
- 16:00Speaker 2: and I from daycare, and he had cleaned off his
- 16:02Speaker 2: old face, shaved his entire face, beard, whatever. My younger
- 16:05Speaker 2: sister was like five and started crying.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that's a very real thing.
- 16:10Speaker 3: We didn't know who it was.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I always go down this rabbit hole of TikTok videos
- 16:15Speaker 1: where it's guys who had facial hair the entire time
- 16:19Speaker 1: their children have been alive and so it'll be like
- 16:22Speaker 1: with babies and toddlers when dad is clean shaven for
- 16:25Speaker 1: the very first time, and then they're horrified.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Exactly, they're scared. They're like, who's this man?
