- 0:17Well, good morning, Jennifer.
- 0:18It's a beautiful, sunny morning.
- 0:22How was your long weekend?
- 0:24Well, it was long, for sure.
- 0:26It was long.
- 0:26It was a long, long weekend.
- 0:28And so, yeah, so those who are listening, it was a long weekend here in...
- 0:32Victoria Day.
- 0:33Victoria Day.
- 0:33Yes.
- 0:34I think that after the Queen, right?
- 0:36It is Queen Victoria.
- 0:36Queen Victoria.
- 0:37You know what?
- 0:37My son was asking me on the drive back from Saskatchewan why it was named Victoria Day.
- 0:42Right, and were you able to adequately share?
- 0:45I believe so.
- 0:45Yeah.
- 0:46Yeah.
- 0:46Queen Victoria.
- 0:47Yeah.
- 0:48So I guess we celebrate her.
- 0:49I'm not really sure why, but we do.
- 0:51I'll take the holiday, doesn't matter.
- 0:52Yeah, that's right.
- 0:52I'll take the holiday.
- 0:53Yeah, so it was pretty good.
- 0:54How about yours?
- 0:55You went on a road trip.
- 0:56I went on a very long road trip to see my mom in Saskatchewan.
- 0:59Saskatchewan.
- 0:59Yes.
- 1:00Southern Saskatchewan.
- 1:01Southern Saskatchewan where, Cam, I will say, when I woke up Monday morning to come back there was snow.
- 1:06Snow.
- 1:06It was not a warm weekend.
- 1:07Snow on the May long weekend, which totally, it doesn't surprise me because on the May long weekend, we have seen every kind of weather, like every kind.
- 1:17It can be snowy and really windy.
- 1:19Was it going down?
- 1:21Must have been really windy.
- 1:22Holy smokes. Windy.
- 1:22We had wind warnings of like 110 kilometers.
- 1:26Crazy, eh?
- 1:27Crazy.
- 1:28Yep.
- 1:28That's the long weekend.
- 1:29But yeah, it's come and it's gone.
- 1:31And that kind of the good part is this is a short work week.
- 1:34So that's kind of cool.
- 1:35You know what I'd like to say?
- 1:36What?
- 1:36I'd like every weekend to be a long weekend.
- 1:38Yes, me too.
- 1:39I agree.
- 1:40Don't you agree?
- 1:41No, I totally, 100%.
- 1:42Maybe we could start taking Fridays and Mondays.
- 1:45I'm liking this.
- 1:45And then it'd be like a super long weekend.
- 1:47Oh, this is even better.
- 1:47Which would be awesome.
- 1:48I agree, 100%.
- 1:49I think I'd be more productive.
- 1:50Okay, I don't know who we'd talk to about that.
- 1:51Ourselves.
- 1:52Well, ourselves, because that's the only people that would listen.
- 1:55But anyway, welcome, everybody, to another edition of Coffee In The Park with Jennifer and Cam.
- 2:01And we are coming to you live from the Wall Coffee Roasters in beautiful Downtown Acheson.
- 2:08That's right.
- 2:08So hey, listen, if you hear some noises in the background, some coffee machines or people talking.
- 2:14I think they're roasting today.
- 2:15They're roasting, yeah.
- 2:16You might even hear the roaster going, going, going.
- 2:20And there's no children in here today.
- 2:23They should all be back in school today.
- 2:24That's right, because the long weekend's over. That's right.
- 2:26But yeah, so we're live.
- 2:27And hey, we want to tell you something very special about the Wall Coffee Roaster that's coming up.
- 2:32They are having...
- 2:33They're having a summer bash, Cam.
- 2:35A summer bash.
- 2:37Well, on May...
- 2:38Okay, so it's this Friday, right?
- 2:40The 22nd, May 22nd from 4 to 8 p.m.
- 2:43Yeah.
- 2:43And May 23rd from 12 to 3 p.m.
- 2:46And what are they doing?
- 2:47Well, here at the Wall Coffee Roasters in beautiful downtown Acheson, they're having 15% off iced drinks all day.
- 2:56And they're having $2 hot dogs, which yours truly...
- 3:02Yes, you're barbecuing.
- 3:03I'm going to be cueing the dog.
- 3:05And I have...
- 3:05I make a special dog.
- 3:07I'm not going to tell you what it is, but it's a very special dog.
- 3:09Well, I can't come, because I'll be stuck at the baseball diamond all weekend.
- 3:12You have baseball.
- 3:13I do.
- 3:13I'd save you a dog, but by Monday, it would be... Not so good.
- 3:16No, it would be...
- 3:19I'm not going to save it anyways.
- 3:20And they're having a summer drink launch.
- 3:24Okay.
- 3:25Oh.
- 3:25So hey, if you have nothing to do, you need to come down to the Wall Coffee Roasters this Friday, this Saturday, Friday 4 to 8, Saturday 12 to 3 for the Summer Bash.
- 3:37And it's supposed to be beautiful weather.
- 3:38It's going to be beautiful.
- 3:40It's going to be nice.
- 3:41That's right.
- 3:41Come to the Summer Bash.
- 3:42It's going to be awesome.
- 3:43And lots of people will be here.
- 3:46They'll be outside.
- 3:47I think they're going to have like some games for the kids.
- 3:50I'm not sure if that's true.
- 3:51Oh yeah, Michael just gave me the thumbs up.
- 3:53They're having games for the kids.
- 3:54Cam, guess who else is coming?
- 3:57Somebody we sponsor.
- 3:59We sponsor.
- 3:59Yes.
- 4:00Miss Emily.
- 4:01Miss Emily and Sweet Freeze will be here.
- 4:02Sweet Freeze Ice Cream will be here on Saturday.
- 4:05So you want to come out.
- 4:07You want to come because it's going to be awesome.
- 4:09She'll be here with her brand new trike.
- 4:11That's right.
- 4:12Ice cream trike.
- 4:12Hot pink.
- 4:13You won't miss it.
- 4:13Hot pink, and Miss Emily will be here, and it's going to be awesome.
- 4:16So come on down to the Summer Bash, because it's going to be fun.
- 4:22It's going to be great.
- 4:23$2 hot dogs.
- 4:25That's a deal, really.
- 4:27You're not getting that at a hockey game.
- 4:29You're not getting that.
- 4:30That's right.
- 4:31$10 hot.
- 4:33Let's talk about that for a minute, because that really bothers me.
- 4:36You go to a hot, like literally, it's $8 for a hot dog.
- 4:39I know.
- 4:39And it's like little.
- 4:40It's a little dog.
- 4:41It's not a big dog.
- 4:42It's not.
- 4:43How come?
- 4:45I don't understand.
- 4:46Any sporting event.
- 4:47Any sporting event.
- 4:48Or any fair.
- 4:48Do you notice that when you go to like the fair?
- 4:51Oh, yes.
- 4:51I remember that about the Calgary Stampede.
- 4:53Yeah.
- 4:53Or the K-Days or whatever.
- 4:56Like it's like.
- 4:57You're paying like $18 for cotton candy.
- 4:59Yes.
- 5:00$18.
- 5:01She's not even kidding.
- 5:02It's like you have to.
- 5:03Yeah.
- 5:04I mean, it's like a lot of money.
- 5:05It is.
- 5:06But so here at the Wall Coffee Roast.
- 5:08$2 hot dog.
- 5:11It's a steal of a deal.
- 5:12I'm pretty sure they'll be all beef.
- 5:15They're not listening to me over there.
- 5:17They're ignoring us.
- 5:17And I know.
- 5:18I do know they'll be vegetarian as well.
- 5:20We will do veggie dogs for those who don't partake of the beef.
- 5:24Perfect.
- 5:24Yeah.
- 5:25Okay.
- 5:25So yeah.
- 5:25So it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 5:27I hope.
- 5:27Hopefully the weather will be nice.
- 5:28Listen, take some pictures and send them to me as I'm on the field.
- 5:30I will.
- 5:31And listen, you.
- 5:32Okay.
- 5:32Is it a tournament?
- 5:34No.
- 5:35What is it?
- 5:36It's our host.
- 5:36It's our host weekend.
- 5:37Okay.
- 5:38Are we going to do a little off the field talk here?
- 5:39Let's, because I, yeah, let's talk.
- 5:41So basically this is, this is what I'm coining it for this season, Off the field.
- 5:44This is the official start.
- 5:45Yeah.
- 5:46I like that name.
- 5:46We'll do the off the field update.
- 5:48Yeah.
- 5:48Off the field update.
- 5:50How it went?
- 5:50Yeah.
- 5:50So this coming weekend, we have to host.
- 5:54What does that mean?
- 5:54So that means that a community is selected.
- 5:58We don't have a choice, by the way.
- 5:59We're just basically told you have to host.
- 6:01Your weekend to host.
- 6:02It's kind of like a mini tournament.
- 6:03You play three games over the weekend.
- 6:07But we have to, we have to do everything.
- 6:11Now, I talked about this with you last summer.
- 6:14We need to tell people, you are the manager.
- 6:17The off field manager.
- 6:19The off field manager of the, OFM.
- 6:21Yeah.
- 6:21The OFM of the baseball team.
- 6:24Yes.
- 6:25You're the one.
- 6:26I am.
- 6:26You organize it all.
- 6:27And boy, am I organizing this weekend.
- 6:29Are you?
- 6:29Oh, yeah.
- 6:30So you have to do everything.
- 6:31Well, I have to get all the volunteers, cause we have to.
- 6:35Okay, can I, how's that going?
- 6:40That's a, it's a good thing we don't video these, cause that look right there, that was the greatest look.
- 6:48How's it going with the volunteers?
- 6:50That was the greatest look right there.
- 6:51Listen, the struggle is real.
- 6:52The struggle is real.
- 6:53There's three games per day.
- 6:55Oh, per day?
- 6:56Per day.
- 6:56So Saturday and Sunday.
- 6:57And Sunday, yes.
- 6:58Wow.
- 6:59Yes.
- 7:00And the challenge is, you can always get volunteers, parents, for your own games.
- 7:07Everybody will work their kids' games, but we have to have volunteers for the other games that aren't our games, but they're still playing, right?
- 7:15Just at our home facility.
- 7:17Nobody wants to volunteer for that.
- 7:18Right.
- 7:19So, yeah.
- 7:20Wow.
- 7:21So, how do you get them?
- 7:28How do you get them?
- 7:28Well, I get angry.
- 7:29Get angry?
- 7:30I was going to say, what's the incentive?
- 7:32The incentive is Jennifer gets angry.
- 7:34Okay.
- 7:35Well, okay.
- 7:36Hey, you know what?
- 7:37Hey, no.
- 7:37Listen, I've got an idea.
- 7:39I'm going to throw this out on the air right now.
- 7:40Okay.
- 7:40Listen, if you are in the Spruce Grove area, this is where we're playing.
- 7:46That's right.
- 7:46And you have, say, a child that wants to make some money this weekend.
- 7:50Yeah.
- 7:51I'll pay them.
- 7:51Come on.
- 7:52Yeah.
- 7:53Serious?
- 7:53I will.
- 7:54Okay, folks, that's a good deal.
- 7:56All right.
- 7:56And all you got to do is pitch count or score keep.
- 8:00So how many pitches?
- 8:01So it depends, but what you do, you just got to like, it's a little check mark.
- 8:06For every pitch they throw, it's really easy.
- 8:08That's easy.
- 8:08I know.
- 8:09Okay.
- 8:10Okay.
- 8:10I like that.
- 8:11Will you throw in like something to eat or something?
- 8:14Yeah, you bet.
- 8:15Yeah?
- 8:15Okay.
- 8:15I'll buy you something from the concession.
- 8:17This is a deal.
- 8:18That's what I'm saying.
- 8:19If I wasn't busy at the summer bash, I'd come do that.
- 8:22I know.
- 8:23And I'm not gonna ask how much you pay.
- 8:25But I'll pay well.
- 8:26You'll negotiate.
- 8:26I'll negotiate.
- 8:27Okay, that's good.
- 8:28Yeah.
- 8:28Wow.
- 8:28But all it is is two hours and a little bit of your time.
- 8:31That's incredible.
- 8:32I know.
- 8:32Okay.
- 8:33I might even throw in an iced or a warm beverage, depending on how the weather is.
- 8:37An iced or a warm beverage.
- 8:39I love it.
- 8:41So you're gonna get paid.
- 8:42Yeah.
- 8:43You're gonna get lunch from the concession.
- 8:44Yeah.
- 8:45And you're gonna get an iced or a warm beverage.
- 8:47What more do you want?
- 8:48And you get to hang out with me.
- 8:49What?
- 8:49You get to hang out with.
- 8:50True enough.
- 8:51No, that's, do it for free right there.
- 8:54Right.
- 8:54Just because they get to hang out with you.
- 8:55I would, yeah.
- 8:56Okay, cool.
- 8:57All right.
- 8:58So, and three games on Saturday, three games on Sunday.
- 9:01Yes.
- 9:02And you're hosting.
- 9:03Yes, we are.
- 9:03Like hosting, does that mean people stay at your house?
- 9:06Thankfully, no.
- 9:06No?
- 9:07Okay, just you're hosting the games.
- 9:08Hosting, you have to host at the field.
- 9:10Right.
- 9:10So, you're in charge of the volunteers, of the cleanup.
- 9:14Remember my garbage story last year?
- 9:16Yeah.
- 9:17Yeah.
- 9:17You got to like clean the washrooms.
- 9:18But you said you were never doing that again.
- 9:19I'm not.
- 9:19I'm making somebody else do that.
- 9:20You said never again.
- 9:21No.
- 9:21But that's the job of the OFM.
- 9:23Yeah.
- 9:24And so, if you're the OFM, then yeah, you got to do that stuff.
- 9:27Okay.
- 9:28Stay tuned.
- 9:28Cool.
- 9:29Stay tuned.
- 9:29I can hardly wait till next Tuesday when we record.
- 9:32It'll be like, okay, great OFM stories.
- 9:35All right.
- 9:35Going to be awesome.
- 9:36Cool.
- 9:37Well, this is great.
- 9:38And we're sitting here.
- 9:39We're sipping coffee because Coffee In The Park is all about coffee and conversation.
- 9:43That's what we do.
- 9:44And I must say, my vanilla latte today is outstanding. Exceptional.
- 9:49It is exceptional.
- 9:50Awesome.
- 9:51Yeah.
- 9:51No, today's very...
- 9:52I'm having a...
- 9:55Flat white?
- 9:55Are you going to say off white? I was gonna say off white.
- 9:57You're having an off white?
- 9:59I'm having a flat white, which, quite frankly, I still don't know what a flat white is.
- 10:04I think they explained this to us once.
- 10:06Erilyn, What's a flat white?
- 10:07A flat white is about five ounces of steamed milk.
- 10:10Five ounces of steamed milk.
- 10:11With no foam.
- 10:13No foam, yeah.
- 10:13Very light foam, and two ounces of espresso.
- 10:16Okay, and two ounces of espresso.
- 10:18There you have it, everybody.
- 10:19And I'm having a remarkable flat white.
- 10:22It's great, but you heard how they make it, so now it's pretty awesome.
- 10:25I know.
- 10:25I didn't even know that.
- 10:26I didn't either.
- 10:27I just liked it, so I ordered it.
- 10:28I heard somebody order it once, and I thought, I want to do that.
- 10:31Do you remember last year, when you were really on the Blueberry Honey Flat White kick?
- 10:34I know.
- 10:36I wonder if the Blueberry...
- 10:37I saw it.
- 10:37As Erilyn walks by once again.
- 10:38I saw it on the list.
- 10:39They have the Blueberry Honey Flat White?
- 10:42She's giving me the thumbs up.
- 10:43They still have it.
- 10:44I know.
- 10:44I didn't know this.
- 10:45I remember you tried to push that on every guest.
- 10:46I did.
- 10:47I'm going back to that.
- 10:48I didn't know.
- 10:48I thought it was a special drink.
- 10:50No.
- 10:50Last year.
- 10:51Hey, did you also remember when we tried to create our own drink?
- 10:54That's right, what did we call it.
- 10:55Listen, the JC.
- 10:56We call it the JC.
- 10:59I still think that was a stellar drink, and yet it failed.
- 11:04Nobody ordered it. Nobody ordered it.
- 11:04I don't know why.
- 11:05Remember, we even went around to businesses and handed out the JC, and nobody came in and ordered it.
- 11:12Nobody.
- 11:13It was a failure.
- 11:16Are you thinking you want to bring back the JC?
- 11:18No, I'm thinking we come up with something new.
- 11:20Something else.
- 11:20Yeah.
- 11:21Do you think Michael would let us?
- 11:22Well, in light of the success of the JC, it could be a tough sell.
- 11:28Maybe it'll be a one-day special.
- 11:30Oh, maybe.
- 11:31I wonder if for the summer bash.
- 11:33Oh, that's too soon.
- 11:34That's cutting time.
- 11:35That's too soon.
- 11:36It takes us time to like, figure it out.
- 11:38Yes, it does.
- 11:39And we have to taste test.
- 11:40Well, we do.
- 11:40And the Wall Coffee Roasters is open on a Saturday.
- 11:43I know.
- 11:44So maybe for some Saturday down the road.
- 11:46Yes, it could be a special.
- 11:47We could do a special.
- 11:49But not the JC.
- 11:50Not the JC.
- 11:51That did not.
- 11:53I'm with you. It was refreshing.
- 11:53I thought it was a good...
- 11:54And it had an umbrella, a little mini umbrella.
- 11:57I know.
- 11:57And nobody...
- 11:58No.
- 11:58No.
- 11:59Anyway, I liked it and you liked it.
- 12:02And people said they liked it.
- 12:04They just never ordered it.
- 12:06So what does that tell you?
- 12:07That they didn't really like it.
- 12:08They were lying to us.
- 12:09But anyways, yeah, it's good.
- 12:12Yeah, good.
- 12:12That's awesome.
- 12:13So yeah, that's what's going on on our end here.
- 12:16And so today, we got some questions that we're going to ask and answer around coffee and conversation.
- 12:26That's right, because that's really what the premise of this podcast is about.
- 12:30It's coffee and conversation.
- 12:31We have coffee and we have conversation.
- 12:33Sometimes just the two of us.
- 12:35Sometimes we have a guest.
- 12:36But it's just, yeah, coffee and conversation.
- 12:39Exactly.
- 12:39Two friends sitting at a table in a coffee shop, just having coffee and conversation.
- 12:44So, we thought that, and I think we've been asked some of these questions before from people.
- 12:49So, we thought we would ask each other.
- 12:53Okay.
- 12:54You want to kick it off?
- 12:55Okay.
- 12:55I'm going to ask you, I'll start first.
- 12:57Yes.
- 12:58Okay.
- 12:59Cam, if you were a coffee order, yes.
- 13:01What would, okay, no, no, no, no, no.
- 13:05I, okay, I'm going to change that.
- 13:06If I were a coffee order, yeah.
- 13:08What would I be and why?
- 13:10Boy, you would be, you would be, you would be a, I'm going to say a mocha.
- 13:26Oh, okay.
- 13:27Why?
- 13:29Because I like mochas.
- 13:30Yeah.
- 13:31They're awesome.
- 13:31Yeah.
- 13:32They're flavorful.
- 13:33Yeah.
- 13:34Nice hint of chocolate.
- 13:36Yeah.
- 13:36Nice hint of coffee.
- 13:37Okay.
- 13:39Sweet.
- 13:41Yeah.
- 13:41That's why I like it.
- 13:42I'd say I'm more chamomile tea.
- 13:45No, the chamomile tea is that puts you to sleep.
- 13:49That's like, you're not.
- 13:50It's soothing, and calm.
- 13:51Well, you are.
- 13:52But see, a mocha for me is soothing and calm.
- 13:55Okay.
- 13:55Because I like it.
- 13:56It's, it's yeah.
- 13:57Okay.
- 13:57You didn't say tea.
- 13:59You said coffee order.
- 14:00I did.
- 14:01If it was tea, I might have said chamomile for you.
- 14:04But no, you're, you're a mocha.
- 14:05That's what you are to me.
- 14:07All right.
- 14:07Okay.
- 14:07Okay.
- 14:08If I were a coffee, what would I be?
- 14:09You are a double shot of espresso.
- 14:10Double shot of espresso. Zing! Why?
- 14:14Energy, energy, energy.
- 14:15Oh.
- 14:16Yeah.
- 14:16Did you know it's not expresso?
- 14:18It's espresso.
- 14:19I know espresso.
- 14:20Some people just say, I'll have an expresso.
- 14:22It's not.
- 14:22It's espresso.
- 14:23I know.
- 14:23Yeah.
- 14:24Yeah.
- 14:24Yeah.
- 14:25But that's what you would be.
- 14:25Double shot.
- 14:26Yeah, double shot.
- 14:27If I had a double shot of espresso, I would be like all over the, I'd be climbing the walls.
- 14:32Yeah.
- 14:33That's a lot of coffee.
- 14:34But that's who you would be.
- 14:35Yeah.
- 14:35Energy-wise.
- 14:36Okay.
- 14:36Order-wise.
- 14:37Cool.
- 14:37Okay.
- 14:38All right.
- 14:38Next question here.
- 14:40If we, you and I, opened a coffee shop together, what would your role be in the coffee shop?
- 14:46I'd be the manager.
- 14:48You would.
- 14:49I'm not even going to, I'm not even, no, listen, I'm not even going to, I'm not even going to, you would.
- 14:54You would definitely be the manager.
- 14:56You would be telling us all what to do.
- 14:59You'd be especially telling me what to do.
- 15:01There'd be no doubt about that.
- 15:04I'm not saying that's a bad thing.
- 15:06You have superior managerial skills.
- 15:09Managerial skills.
- 15:11You do.
- 15:12You are good.
- 15:13I work with you on a few events, and you know how to manage, and you would manage.
- 15:20Yeah.
- 15:20It'd be good.
- 15:21Okay.
- 15:21What would you be?
- 15:22I'd be the host.
- 15:24Like the Walmart greeter?
- 15:25Yeah.
- 15:26Like the Walmart greeter.
- 15:30Hi.
- 15:31Welcome to the Wall Coffee Roaster.
- 15:32Well, I'm not sure what the name would be.
- 15:34We'd have to figure out a name.
- 15:35But yeah, I'd be the host.
- 15:36I'd host.
- 15:37I'd be like, and then I'd go from table to table.
- 15:40And how are you enjoying your drink today?
- 15:41Oh, I could see that.
- 15:42Are you having a nice time here today?
- 15:44I would just want to talk to people.
- 15:45You wouldn't be the barista?
- 15:47Well, I do know how to do that a little bit.
- 15:49Not as good as these guys, but I do know how to do that.
- 15:51But I don't think I'd be very good at that.
- 15:54No, that's hard.
- 15:56I know it is hard. I couldn't do it.
- 15:58Do you see the little designs they put on ours? I couldn't do it.
- 16:00Like Michael and the team here, they put these cool, nice little designs.
- 16:04There'd be no designs on mine.
- 16:05No, mine either.
- 16:06Like, here's your coffee.
- 16:08Here's your drink.
- 16:10It's like, can I just say about those designs?
- 16:13I find that that must be hard for them because sometimes they do really nice work.
- 16:17I know.
- 16:18And then within seconds, somebody just slurps it up and it's gone.
- 16:20Yeah, I want to ask them how long it took to learn that.
- 16:24Yeah, maybe we'll do a video of you and I learning to do that design.
- 16:29Well, that won't be pretty.
- 16:30No.
- 16:31Like you said, my design would be a straight line.
- 16:34Here you go.
- 16:34Okay.
- 16:35Yeah.
- 16:36So that you'd be the manager, I'd be the host, we'd then obviously have to hire people to make the coffee.
- 16:40Well, we would.
- 16:41Because people just won't come and sit.
- 16:43Who am I managing?
- 16:44You?
- 16:44Stop talking to the customers.
- 16:46Get the coffee going.
- 16:47Stop talking to the customers.
- 16:51Stop.
- 16:52Stop being the host.
- 16:54Stop being friendly to the customers.
- 16:56Just stop.
- 16:56Just stop.
- 16:57No, it's important to be friendly.
- 16:59Okay.
- 16:59But with that in mind.
- 17:01Yes.
- 17:01Who would be the first to be fired from the coffee shop?
- 17:05Okay.
- 17:05Seeing you're the manager, you'd fire me like right now.
- 17:09Like I bet you, okay, here'd be my prediction.
- 17:12You'd fire me like five times a day.
- 17:15It'd be like, and then you'd say, okay, you can come back, but don't do that again.
- 17:18But you would.
- 17:18Then I'd come back, and I'd do it again, and you'd fire me again.
- 17:21Maybe.
- 17:22Like, yeah.
- 17:23I'd be like, see, I couldn't fire you.
- 17:25No.
- 17:25You're the manager.
- 17:26I know.
- 17:27What am I gonna do?
- 17:27I could go on strike.
- 17:28Well, you could, but then I'd just hire somebody else.
- 17:30That's right.
- 17:31Just replace me.
- 17:31I'd replace you.
- 17:32See, folks, that's- You're not union.
- 17:34You're good.
- 17:35That's the podcast right there.
- 17:37She always threatens me, I can replace you.
- 17:39So it'd be like Coffee In The Park with Jennifer and Ralph.
- 17:45That's what it would be. Hey, it could be like...
- 17:46Where's Cam?
- 17:47He's out.
- 17:47Remember when Jeopardy was trying to find a new host, and they just rotated through?
- 17:50I know.
- 17:54Did you hear that, folks?
- 17:56My job is it hangs in the balance every podcast.
- 18:01Okay.
- 18:02So my nose is running.
- 18:03I don't know why. Uh oh.
- 18:04It's spring allergies.
- 18:05Spring allergies.
- 18:06The allergies are hitting today.
- 18:07All right.
- 18:08So that question about the firing, that's an unfair question because you can't get fired.
- 18:14You're the manager.
- 18:16I thought it was a great question.
- 18:18It's a good question.
- 18:20That's right.
- 18:22There'd be signs. Cam is banned from the coffee shop.
- 18:24Okay.
- 18:25All right.
- 18:25Next question.
- 18:26Here we go.
- 18:28If your life had a theme song, what's playing when you walk in to the coffee shop?
- 18:37If your life had a theme song.
- 18:41Okay.
- 18:41I don't know if this is the actual title.
- 18:44Okay.
- 18:44The Greatest American Hero.
- 18:48It has nothing to do with American.
- 18:49What show is that?
- 18:52That was a show on TV.
- 18:53Yeah.
- 18:54What was that show?
- 18:56I remember that. I know.
- 18:57The Greatest American Hero.
- 18:58Yeah.
- 18:58What was that show?
- 19:00Oh my goodness.
- 19:01We'll have to look that up.
- 19:02We'll look it up.
- 19:02But you know which one it was.
- 19:03Oh, I know the song.
- 19:04You know the song.
- 19:05Yeah, totally.
- 19:05100%.
- 19:06Believe it or not.
- 19:07Believe it or not, I'm walking on air.
- 19:10Yeah.
- 19:10That's it.
- 19:10That's it.
- 19:11That'd be the song.
- 19:12Yeah.
- 19:12As I'm walking in, that's it.
- 19:14Oh, okay.
- 19:15Yeah.
- 19:15You?
- 19:16Wow.
- 19:17Mine would be, only because in my wildest dreams, mine would be the theme song from Top Gun.
- 19:26Oh, like the...
- 19:29Well, there's a couple of themes.
- 19:30Well, there is.
- 19:30What's the one?
- 19:31Danger Zone?
- 19:32Kenny Loggins?
- 19:32Danger Zone.
- 19:33Kenny Loggins.
- 19:33Yeah.
- 19:33Kenny Loggins.
- 19:34Danger Zone.
- 19:35Yeah.
- 19:35That's it.
- 19:35That'd be mine.
- 19:37Danger Zone.
- 19:37Only because that...
- 19:39My nose is really running here. Keep talking.
- 19:41That, for me, is like one of the most amazing songs, and it's how I want to live.
- 19:47I don't necessarily live.
- 19:49It's how I want to live.
- 19:50I have to keep talking, because Jennifer went to get me a napkin because my nose is running.
- 19:54I don't even know why.
- 19:56Oh, this is just coffee and conversation, folks.
- 19:58That's what happens.
- 19:59Coffee and conversation.
- 19:59So that would be mine, Danger Zone.
- 20:01I like it.
- 20:02Yeah, that's good.
- 20:03That's good.
- 20:03Walking On Air and Danger Zone. Now I'm gonna sing that all day.
- 20:06Yeah, I know it'll be in my brain all day.
- 20:09I have to go watch Top Gun again, because that's my favorite movie of all time.
- 20:12Anyway, okay, all right.
- 20:14Next question.
- 20:16This is important.
- 20:18Are you a sit and sip or grab and go coffee person?
- 20:25What do you like better?
- 20:26Do you like to sit and sip or grab and go?
- 20:32That's a tough one, actually.
- 20:33You know what? It depends on.
- 20:34It does depend.
- 20:35It depends.
- 20:36In the mornings, if I have time, I like to sit and sip.
- 20:39Sit and sip.
- 20:40Yeah.
- 20:41But during the day, grab and go.
- 20:42Grab and go.
- 20:43For sure.
- 20:44Okay.
- 20:44You?
- 20:45No, I would...
- 20:46Well, no.
- 20:46In the morning, I'm a grab and go.
- 20:48Are you?
- 20:48Yeah, I'm a grab and go.
- 20:51Probably the only time...
- 20:52Well, no.
- 20:53I was going to say, the only time I sit and sip is during the podcast, or if we have meetings, or I have a meeting here at the coffee shop, then I sit and sip.
- 21:02But I only do that because I'm in a meeting.
- 21:04I don't really just come and sit and sip.
- 21:06No.
- 21:07I grab and go.
- 21:07Do you know what I enjoy?
- 21:08No.
- 21:09In the summer.
- 21:09Yes.
- 21:10In the mornings, on a weekend, if I have time, if I'm not at baseball or wherever, is I can take my coffee, I can sit on my lawn furniture that I purchased last year.
- 21:20Right, you did.
- 21:21You bought new lawn furniture.
- 21:22I know, I did.
- 21:22And sit and sip my coffee.
- 21:24That's awesome.
- 21:25I know, but it rarely happens.
- 21:26Yeah, no, I wouldn't.
- 21:27Yeah, I bought a new piece of lawn furniture.
- 21:30Did you? What did you buy?
- 21:31I bought a plastic adirondack chair from Home Depot.
- 21:34$24.99?
- 21:35$29.
- 21:35Oh, $29.
- 21:36It went up.
- 21:37Last year, they were $24.
- 21:38$29.99.
- 21:39Inflation.
- 21:39And I'm just going to say this right now.
- 21:42You're right.
- 21:42I love sitting in my plastic adirondack chair and sipping a coffee.
- 21:47They're actually quite comfy, those plastic ones.
- 21:49And I splurged, and I bought a little cushion because I had a- Do you have a little side table to go with it?
- 21:55No, I was looking for one of those.
- 21:57I did have a- I had two real adirondack chairs.
- 22:01Oh, those were heavy.
- 22:02They were- They cost me, like, 200 and some odd dollars each.
- 22:06That was, like, three years ago, now they'd be, like, 600.
- 22:08But you strain your back moving them.
- 22:09Exactly.
- 22:10And so I sold them to a guy who wanted them for- Facebook Marketplace?
- 22:13Yep.
- 22:14Wanted them- he bought them just like that because he wanted them for around his campfire at home, his fire pit.
- 22:20And so he bought- because I think I didn't charge enough.
- 22:24I charged enough to cover the plastic adirondack chair.
- 22:27That's what you need to do.
- 22:28Yeah.
- 22:30Anyway, I'm with you on a nice on a nice summer weekend morning to just sit out on my on my patio and have a nice cup of coffee.
- 22:38But that's that's really the only time, I know, I'm other than that.
- 22:41Otherwise, grab and go.
- 22:42Yeah, I have.
- 22:43Do you have a lot of grab and go cups?
- 22:46I have a lot of- You know what?
- 22:47I've really reduced.
- 22:48Man, I got to reduce.
- 22:49I donated.
- 22:50I got rid of a lot.
- 22:51Did you?
- 22:51I did.
- 22:52The only ones I have now, I've got a Yeti one that I really like.
- 22:56Yeah, Yeti, yeah.
- 22:57And I have a Genics one.
- 22:59Oh yeah, the Genics one.
- 23:00Remember the white Genics ones?
- 23:02I ordered those.
- 23:02You ordered those.
- 23:03They're actually camelbacks.
- 23:04Yeah.
- 23:05But those are the only two.
- 23:06And they're good for sip and go.
- 23:07They are.
- 23:08Yeah.
- 23:08Okay.
- 23:09That's awesome.
- 23:10All right.
- 23:10But I do like coming to the coffee shop.
- 23:12Actually, I'm looking over there, because they have a nice patio at the coffee shop, and they're cleaning the patio right now.
- 23:18Probably for the summer bash.
- 23:19For the summer bash.
- 23:20And it's nice to sit out there.
- 23:22I know.
- 23:22Sometimes.
- 23:23Sometimes when the dirt's not blowing.
- 23:24It's not.
- 23:25Because we are in beautiful downtown Acheson where the dirt tends to blow.
- 23:29All right.
- 23:29Okay.
- 23:30Next question.
- 23:31All right.
- 23:31Next question.
- 23:32Now, this is a tough one.
- 23:33This is a tough one.
- 23:34Yeah.
- 23:35It is.
- 23:35Are you an ice coffee person or a hot coffee?
- 23:39And you can't say both.
- 23:41You have to pick one.
- 23:42Okay.
- 23:43My answer for this is seasonal.
- 23:46That's fair.
- 23:47Yeah.
- 23:47Yeah.
- 23:48Because as we know, here in Edmonton, it gets a little cold in the winter.
- 23:52Who's drinking an iced coffee in minus 30?
- 23:55Actually, I should just come in and order one.
- 23:58Just because it's minus 30.
- 24:00So yeah.
- 24:00So that's hot.
- 24:01But then in the summer, I enjoy a really nice iced coffee.
- 24:05Can I just say, I've actually started drinking iced coffee, just regular iced coffee this summer.
- 24:10Yeah.
- 24:11Really?
- 24:13I've been drinking them for a while because I like them.
- 24:14They're really good.
- 24:15They are good.
- 24:16So I've even sometimes in the morning on my grab and go, I'll have an iced coffee.
- 24:22Oh.
- 24:22Just coffee, not like the ice cappuccinos from a certain place.
- 24:26I have iced coffee with milk.
- 24:28Yeah, with milk.
- 24:29That's it.
- 24:30Yeah.
- 24:30I don't just have it straight up.
- 24:32No.
- 24:33No, I have milk.
- 24:33Because some of those ice beverages you get are pure sugar.
- 24:37Well, no, you're right.
- 24:39That's why I'll say, and sometimes I'll ask them if they'll use the non-fat milk.
- 24:43Oh, yeah.
- 24:43If they have that.
- 24:44It's just to, it's like how I drink a coffee actually, coffee with a little bit of milk or cream.
- 24:49And so, yeah, I actually really like cold coffee.
- 24:52Yeah, I've really started to enjoy it too.
- 24:54Yeah, we should have that in our office more often, cold coffee.
- 24:57We can.
- 24:57We can.
- 24:58Yeah, we should do that.
- 25:00But it's coming in to cold coffee season.
- 25:01It is.
- 25:02Yes, cold beverage season.
- 25:03So, cold beverage.
- 25:04Yeah, it doesn't have to be a coffee.
- 25:06No.
- 25:06It could be something else.
- 25:07I know.
- 25:08You can get cold lattes.
- 25:09At The Wall Coffee Roaster, you can get anything iced.
- 25:11You can, anything cold.
- 25:12Yeah.
- 25:13I wonder if you can get this flat white cold.
- 25:14Yes, I think you've had.
- 25:15Could you?
- 25:16You've had, yes, we did.
- 25:17I had it.
- 25:17The honey blueberry one.
- 25:18The honey blueberry.
- 25:19That's right.
- 25:20Remember?
- 25:20Oh, my shattered.
- 25:21Listen, folks, you got to come try the honey blueberry cold flat white.
- 25:26It's awesome.
- 25:27Awesome.
- 25:27Yeah.
- 25:27Okay.
- 25:28Let's move on.
- 25:28More questions.
- 25:29Okay.
- 25:31How, oh, this is good.
- 25:32How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day?
- 25:39An average day.
- 25:40Average day.
- 25:41I'll say two.
- 25:42I'll have one in the morning.
- 25:43Yeah.
- 25:43And usually either iced or hot in the afternoon.
- 25:47Now, coming up to a baseball weekend, there could be significantly more.
- 25:50Six, tweleve, fourteen.
- 25:51Yes. Twenty four.
- 25:57Jennifer is just like drinking them right here.
- 26:00They'd be taking me to the hospital.
- 26:01Oh, man.
- 26:02You'd be, yeah.
- 26:04Yeah.
- 26:05Wow.
- 26:05That's a lot.
- 26:06But you have to keep going.
- 26:07Yeah, you do.
- 26:08When you're the OFM, you have to keep going.
- 26:10You got to do what you got to do.
- 26:11So, but on a normal work day, one to two, one in the morning, one in the afternoon.
- 26:15Try to have one around like two o'clock.
- 26:19Yeah.
- 26:19Because that's the crash.
- 26:21Well, three o'clock, I turn into Elmo.
- 26:22Well, three for you is Elmo.
- 26:24Yeah.
- 26:24People are like, what does that mean?
- 26:26It means she crashes.
- 26:27You're done.
- 26:29At three o'clock, we're done.
- 26:30If we're working, it's like, okay, we're done.
- 26:33She just tootles back to her office, closes the door, and hangs in there till 4.30 till she's done, done.
- 26:40But yeah, she's like done.
- 26:42No, yeah, I am.
- 26:43Right.
- 26:43No, yeah, I hear you.
- 26:45I totally, yeah.
- 26:46Okay, and you?
- 26:48I'm like you, one in the morning, and then usually, yeah, one in the afternoon sometimes.
- 26:53Yeah.
- 26:53Yeah.
- 26:54I don't drink coffee at night.
- 26:55No, I don't either.
- 26:57I do.
- 26:57Although I have had coffee at night, and I've slept, but I don't know how well I sleep.
- 27:02That's true.
- 27:02So, but I know people.
- 27:04People will drink coffee all day, like one right after the other.
- 27:08How do you do that?
- 27:09My in-laws used to put a pot of coffee on before bed, and drink a pot of coffee before bed.
- 27:17And they slept okay?
- 27:18Oh, sure.
- 27:18Unbelievable.
- 27:19See, I couldn't do that.
- 27:20I'd be up all night.
- 27:21Yeah, I'd be wandering the house. There's no way.
- 27:23No, I agree.
- 27:24And I don't know how people do it.
- 27:25Some people just one right after the other, one right after the other.
- 27:28And you know what?
- 27:29Studies have shown coffee isn't bad for you.
- 27:31No.
- 27:31In fact, it's good for you.
- 27:32Apparently, it's quite good for you.
- 27:33Yes.
- 27:34Maybe not 24 cups in a day, but yes.
- 27:36All things in moderation, but yeah.
- 27:38Yeah.
- 27:39No, I don't know.
- 27:39I don't know.
- 27:40It'd be interesting to know what people drink in a day.
- 27:42Some people have sworn off coffee.
- 27:44Oh, see.
- 27:45I couldn't do that.
- 27:46Me either.
- 27:46No.
- 27:46And I don't want to.
- 27:47And then some people, well, yeah, they drink a lot of coffee.
- 27:51We try to switch to tea in the afternoon.
- 27:55And we still do.
- 27:56Sometimes there's tea.
- 27:56From time to time, we have a tea.
- 27:58We do.
- 27:59Sometimes the tea doesn't give me that caffeine buzz that I need.
- 28:03Because 3 o'clock is like, wha, done, er.
- 28:06But this is interesting because this brings us to the next question, which I find is a very interesting question.
- 28:12At what point in your life did you go from, I'm not drinking any coffee, to now I drink coffee?
- 28:23Oh, I know the exact moment.
- 28:26So I didn't start drinking coffee until my first, I would say, not like a summer job, a real full time job.
- 28:34Up until then, throughout university, I did not. You never drank coffee in university?
- 28:38I thought it was disgusting.
- 28:39No, I did not.
- 28:40I didn't like the taste of it.
- 28:41That's crazy.
- 28:41I didn't.
- 28:42To stay awake, I drank, oh my, the giant, for those that remember, the giant big gulps from 7-Eleven filled with Coke. Big gulps.
- 28:52Or Pepsi.
- 28:52That's right.
- 28:53Pepsi, yes.
- 28:54I bet it was the super big gulp you had.
- 28:56It was, and that's what I used to stay awake.
- 28:58So bad for you, but yeah.
- 28:59Wow.
- 29:00So you didn't start drinking coffee till you had your first job.
- 29:03No, and I don't even remember why.
- 29:06Like what was the catalyst for me drinking coffee?
- 29:09Peer pressure.
- 29:09Probably.
- 29:10Everybody was going for coffee.
- 29:12Or there was no 7-Eleven close by.
- 29:13Well, that was more like it, because there wasn't.
- 29:16Yeah.
- 29:16That's true.
- 29:18There actually, no.
- 29:19It was before Uber Eats.
- 29:20No, you know what it was.
- 29:21It was, Tim Hortons was across the street because I was working at the Aviation Museum.
- 29:25Right, right, right.
- 29:26There was nothing out by the airport at that time in Calgary.
- 29:29But a Timmy's.
- 29:30There was a Timmy's across the street.
- 29:32So went and got a Timmy's, and then started drinking coffee.
- 29:36Right.
- 29:36Yeah.
- 29:37Wow.
- 29:38Incredible.
- 29:39I know.
- 29:40You?
- 29:40Well, I'm like you.
- 29:41I never drank it in college.
- 29:43My friends drank bucket loads of coffee.
- 29:45Like, you have to pull all-nighters for your papers and studying for exams, and they would drink bucket loads of coffee.
- 29:51But can I just say, back then, back in those days, coffee shops weren't as prevalent as they are now.
- 29:59No, they weren't as thing as they are now.
- 30:00When I was in college, there was no Starbucks.
- 30:02Right.
- 30:02And Tim Hortons was pretty scarce, I'd say.
- 30:06There was a few around.
- 30:07And so it was.
- 30:08You had to be somewhere where somebody could put on a pot of coffee.
- 30:11Right.
- 30:12And somebody would make sure that's done.
- 30:14And we would stay up all night studying and doing papers.
- 30:18And they would drink bucket loads.
- 30:19And I just couldn't.
- 30:20I couldn't.
- 30:20I drank pop.
- 30:21Lots.
- 30:22So did I.
- 30:23Not necessarily always a big gulp, but I would drink Pepsi.
- 30:27Pepsi was my favorite.
- 30:28How do I not have diabetes from all the pop?
- 30:31Exactly.
- 30:33And we'd buy two liters and just pour the two liter.
- 30:38I didn't start drinking coffee until I think it was I lived in Kelowna.
- 30:43It might have been.
- 30:44And I think that's...
- 30:47Was it peer pressure for you?
- 30:49Yeah, I think so.
- 30:51Was it a job?
- 30:53Yeah, I think I was getting older and trying to be more mature and keep up with everybody.
- 30:57And I don't know why that was kind of dumb because that never really worked.
- 31:01But yeah, and then I moved back to Vancouver, and that's when it really clicked in.
- 31:07And the Vancouver coffee scene was like man everywhere.
- 31:11And you had to go and try this and try that.
- 31:13And then Starbucks was coming online and all that kind of stuff.
- 31:17And so then I traveled quite a bit.
- 31:19I remember, I was in Singapore when they opened.
- 31:22I was there the day they opened the very first Starbucks.
- 31:25I bet you the line was like...
- 31:28Yeah.
- 31:28Miles.
- 31:29I'm not even kidding.
- 31:30Miles down the street.
- 31:32And I'm like, what's the big deal?
- 31:34I just go back to Vancouver and there's like Starbucks.
- 31:36In Vancouver, I remember there was so many Starbucks.
- 31:38I do remember that.
- 31:39Remember on, was it Davie Street?
- 31:41Or no, Robson Street.
- 31:42On Robson Street, there was...
- 31:44Kitty Corner Starbucks.
- 31:45Kitty Corner Starbucks.
- 31:47Right across from each other.
- 31:48How times have changed.
- 31:50Yeah, it's right.
- 31:51Every week, it's like we're closing 300 Starbucks.
- 31:53But anyways, that...
- 31:54And so that was kinda...
- 31:56And there, everybody...
- 31:58They were like coffee connoisseurs.
- 32:00Right.
- 32:00So you had to...
- 32:01It was a scene, like a coffee scene.
- 32:03Yeah.
- 32:03Yeah.
- 32:04Yeah.
- 32:04And then actually, Michael came and worked with me for a couple years in Vancouver.
- 32:10And he really...
- 32:12Michael, even then, he loved his coffee.
- 32:14Well, you know what?
- 32:14Edmonton actually has a really good coffee scene.
- 32:16Yes, we do.
- 32:17We really do.
- 32:18I don't think most people know that.
- 32:19No, we have a great coffee scene.
- 32:21Yes.
- 32:21Some great coffee shops, some great roasters, some great people.
- 32:25And it's...
- 32:25yeah.
- 32:26And it's...
- 32:27And so, yeah, for me, and then it just kind of stuck.
- 32:30But I'm like not a purist.
- 32:32No.
- 32:32I have to have cream in my coffee.
- 32:34Yeah.
- 32:34And I have...
- 32:35like this flat white has...
- 32:37I forget what she said in it, but that's stuff.
- 32:40Just no foam.
- 32:41That's what I remember.
- 32:42No foam.
- 32:43But yeah.
- 32:43So yeah.
- 32:44So that's, you know, kind of as we sit here today in the coffee shop, those are, yeah, questions you might have asked.
- 32:49Wait, I have one more question.
- 32:50Oh, it's not on the list.
- 32:52Oh, man.
- 32:52Okay.
- 32:53Did you ever drink instant coffee?
- 32:55No, but my mom did.
- 32:56I remember my grandma having instant coffee.
- 32:58My mom did.
- 32:59Senka.
- 32:59Senka.
- 33:00Senka.
- 33:00Yes.
- 33:01And we always had a jar of Senka.
- 33:03Yes.
- 33:04The younger generation will have no idea what we're talking about.
- 33:06No, because they didn't know how to use coffee makers or anything like that.
- 33:09They used percolators.
- 33:11I remember I had a percolator.
- 33:12Like a bloop, bloop, bloop.
- 33:14But you're right.
- 33:15My mom drank instant coffee.
- 33:17All the Senka.
- 33:18I can't imagine drinking instant coffee.
- 33:20You can still buy it, I think.
- 33:21But I don't know who drinks it.
- 33:23Yeah.
- 33:23We're kind of spoiled now because coffee is so...
- 33:27I'm not going to say gourmet-ish, but it is really like there's so much good coffee out there.
- 33:32There is.
- 33:33Yeah.
- 33:33So Senka would be like...
- 33:35Senka would be like your last resort.
- 33:37Like if you were dying and all you had was a tin of Senka or a can of Senka.
- 33:42And you needed that extra caffeine.
- 33:44Like, yeah, no.
- 33:44Yeah.
- 33:45So yeah.
- 33:46Yeah.
- 33:46So that's, you know, as we come to...
- 33:48And here at The Wall Coffee Roasters, if you've never been, some of the finest coffee, and they roast it right here, we get to look right over there and see Brendan, he's roasting today, right over there.
- 33:58And then we look over there and Michael's behind the till, and then we look over there and I don't know what they're doing.
- 34:03But anyways...
- 34:04Erilyn's cleaning the deck.
- 34:05Erilyn's cleaning the deck.
- 34:06For the summer bash.
- 34:07For the summer bash.
- 34:09So yeah, so that's us and coffee.
- 34:12Coffee and conversation.
- 34:13That's right.
- 34:13But I will say, there's something nice about sitting with someone, a friend, and having a nice cup of coffee, and just having a good conversation.
- 34:22There really is.
- 34:23Having a good chat.
- 34:24Yeah.
- 34:24Yeah.
- 34:25I like it.
- 34:25I know.
- 34:26And I think, as we talk about today's world, I think people need to do more of that.
- 34:30I agree with you.
- 34:31Do you know one of the things I love the most when the weather is nice and you find a nice patio?
- 34:36Yes.
- 34:37And you get whether it's a nice coffee or a coffee, and you just sit on the patio.
- 34:41And catch up.
- 34:42And catch up.
- 34:42Yeah.
- 34:43I agree with you.
- 34:44We need to do more of that.
- 34:45We should start a campaign.
- 34:47Are we getting buttons?
- 34:49Coffee and conversation.
- 34:51Yes.
- 34:52That's all.
- 34:54Life will go so much better.
- 34:55If all of us took one day a week.
- 34:58One day a week.
- 34:59And sat with somebody and had coffee and conversation.
- 35:01And I know you're saying it's hard to do.
- 35:03It is.
- 35:04No, you have to make time.
- 35:05You have to put it in your calendar.
- 35:06I think we'd all feel better.
- 35:07I agree with you.
- 35:08On a nice summer day, on a winter day, in a nice cafe, like the wall coffee roasters, like just to sit and chat.
- 35:15I know.
- 35:16And sometimes you just end up chatting for hours.
- 35:18Yeah.
- 35:19Exactly.
- 35:19Yeah.
- 35:20I like it.
- 35:21It's good.
- 35:21It's good.
- 35:22Wow.
- 35:23That's good coffee conversation right there.
- 35:25We had good coffee conversation today.
- 35:27I really liked it.
- 35:28I know.
- 35:28And hey, just want to remind you again, after our coffee conversation about the summer bash coming up at the Wall Coffee Roasters.
- 35:38At 27717 Acheson Road.
- 35:41That's right.
- 35:4115% off iced drinks all day.
- 35:44$2 hot dogs.
- 35:46Summer drink launch.
- 35:48I wonder what they're launching.
- 35:49I don't know.
- 35:50I'm very excited.
- 35:51We should've asked. Maybe they wouldn't have told us because they're waiting for Friday and Saturday to launch it.
- 35:55Yeah. The summer launch.
- 35:56But we'll tell you next week what the summertime drinks are.
- 35:58We'll tell you next week what the summer launch is, and you can come check it out.
- 36:02And yeah, so come down.
- 36:04It's gonna be a good time, and the weather's gonna be nice if you're in this area.
- 36:07Of course, if you live far away, it'll be hard to get here, but you can just come anyways.
- 36:13If you're in this region, come on down.
- 36:15I'll be here cooking dogs.
- 36:16Jennifer will not.
- 36:18She'll be OFMing.
- 36:19OFMing.
- 36:20On the baseball field.
- 36:21But again, if you want to volunteer.
- 36:24I can't even believe you've said this, that if you want to volunteer.
- 36:28Listen.
- 36:30Send us a note on our website.
- 36:34Send your resume.
- 36:35And I will contact you.
- 36:36You don't even have to send a resume.
- 36:37No, there's no resume.
- 36:38She's pretty desperate.
- 36:39She'll take anybody.
- 36:41That's right.
- 36:44Oh, I think that this summer of the podcast is going to be fabulous with OFM stories.
- 36:50I'm very excited about this.
- 36:52This is how I'm keeping myself sane.
- 36:54And you know what?
- 36:55I know a lot of parents listen to our podcast, who are sports parents?
- 36:59I know.
- 36:59Their kids are playing sports.
- 37:00It doesn't matter the sport.
- 37:01You're all going through this.
- 37:02That's right.
- 37:03Soccer, baseball, hockey, lacrosse, swimming.
- 37:08Somebody who was swimming told me the other day how much work.
- 37:10They're kids in swimming.
- 37:11And it's not like you just go to the pool and your kid jumps in.
- 37:14There's a lot of work.
- 37:14There's a lot to it.
- 37:15I know.
- 37:16So yeah.
- 37:17So hey, if you're going through the...
- 37:19Maybe we'll start a support group.
- 37:21Parents whose kids are in sports.
- 37:23Led by Jennifer. Led by me.
- 37:27Yeah, it's great.
- 37:28So hey, thanks for listening today, everybody.
- 37:30Appreciate it.
- 37:31And make sure you tell somebody about the podcast.
- 37:34Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your coworkers, tell your enemies.
- 37:37If you don't have any friends, make one.
- 37:40Maybe a sports parent who needs to hear this today. They need that support.
- 37:43They need a little coffee and conversation and tell them about it.
- 37:47And it's wherever you get your podcast or at www.coffeeinthepark.com.
- 37:54And you know what we forgot?
- 37:55What?
- 37:55We forgot to tell everybody why we can do this podcast.
- 38:02It's because of- Oh my gosh.
- 38:05What's wrong with us?
- 38:06I know.
- 38:07We got so wrapped up in coffee.
- 38:08We got so wrapped up in coffee, we forgot about wings.

- 38:41Would be a nice iced tea.
- 38:43Yes.
- 38:44A nice iced tea.
