Speaker 1: And the Kraken, a power play goal.
• 0:02
Speaker 2: Welcome to the Kraken Post Game Show, powered by the
• 0:06
Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app, where you can hear the Kraken anytime, anywhere.
• 0:10
Speaker 2: Now for an in-depth look at tonight's Kraken game. It's
• 0:14
Speaker 2: the Kraken Post Game on the Global Credit Union Kraken
• 0:17
  Speaker 2: Audio Network.
• 0:20
Speaker 1: We can all breathe a little bit easier. The Seattle
• 0:24
Speaker 1: Kraken get out of Philadelphia. With a 3-2 win in
• 0:29
Speaker 1: the shootout, Everett Fitzhugh, Al Kaniski back alongside. Kraken had
• 0:33
Speaker 1: a 2-0 lead partner going into the third period. Then
• 0:36
Speaker 1: the Flyers turned up the peskiness, we'll say, in that
• 0:41
Speaker 1: second period. Trevor Zegers trying his best to get up
• 0:45
Speaker 1: under the skin of the Kraken and Philip Grubauer. For Seattle,
• 0:49
Speaker 1: they were able to force the game to overtime. They
• 0:51
Speaker 1: had some good looks in the third period and in overtime.
• 0:55
Speaker 1: They had a power play in the extra session as well.
• 0:58
Speaker 1: And then in the shootout, even though Dan Ladar had
• 1:01
Speaker 1: a couple of masterful saves, Seattle was one better, scoring
• 1:05
Speaker 1: on two of their five shots. Grubauer stopping four of
• 1:10
Speaker 1: five flyer opportunities. And the Kraken get out of here
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: with a 3-2 victory.
• 1:13
Speaker 3: Well, you like that it was Matty Beneers to get
• 1:15
Speaker 3: the shootout started. He scored on his shot opportunity. I
• 1:18
Speaker 3: know it's been an area that he's been working on.
• 1:20
Speaker 3: He scored with a couple of deke moves in the preseason.
• 1:24
Speaker 3: You know, he's talked about trying to get that part
• 1:26
Speaker 3: of his game better. So I like that he was
• 1:28
Speaker 3: thrown out there first. I like that he had success
• 1:30
Speaker 3: getting the scoring started. And obviously Bobby McMahon getting it
• 1:33
Speaker 3: done at the end of the fifth round for the
• 1:35
Speaker 3: win was huge. There were some low spots in the
• 1:38
Speaker 3: game as well. It was sloppy through the first 40 minutes.
• 1:41
Speaker 3: I think the Kraken know that. They've got to clean
• 1:43
Speaker 3: that up better, but you look at the pros and
• 1:46
Speaker 3: cons of the game, obviously you found a way to
• 1:48
Speaker 3: get the win, and that's important. The PK was perfect
• 1:51
Speaker 3: as well tonight, going three for three, so bright spot
• 1:55
  Speaker 3: there also.
• 1:56
Speaker 1: You knew that this Kraken team wasn't going to score
• 1:58
Speaker 1: five or six goals every night. They weren't going to
• 2:00
Speaker 1: win every game six to two or five to three
• 2:03
Speaker 1: or whatever, but This is their first close game of
• 2:06
Speaker 1: the year, their first tight, first one-goal game of the
• 2:09
Speaker 1: year as well. What did you make, what did you
• 2:13
Speaker 1: like about the effort here tonight for Seattle, given some
• 2:17
Speaker 1: of the sloppiness, given the fact that nothing really came
• 2:21
Speaker 1: easy against this Flyers team?
• 2:23
Speaker 3: Well, I mean, this Flyers team is a different team
• 2:25
Speaker 3: than Calgary or Vancouver, where, you know, they're both in
• 2:27
Speaker 3: rebuilding years. I think Philadelphia is struggling right now with
• 2:30
Speaker 3: having some injuries with Konechny out. They've got great goaltending
• 2:33
Speaker 3: in Dan Bledar, clearly. And even more so, it seems like,
• 2:37
Speaker 3: when he plays Seattle. But I think this was going
• 2:40
Speaker 3: to be a tough game where you're facing a team
• 2:42
Speaker 3: that hasn't won yet. You're not going to blow them
• 2:44
  Speaker 3: out 6-0, 5-3, whatever. You're not going to put a
• 2:46
Speaker 3: bunch of goals up on them. And they made it
• 2:48
Speaker 3: really hard for Seattle to find the back of the net.
• 2:51
Speaker 3: The goals that they did score were off of a
• 2:53
Speaker 3: great snipe by Bobby McMahon in the first period. And
• 2:56
Speaker 3: then Ville Odovainen with his first goal of the season
• 2:59
Speaker 3: using Matty Beneers as a screen in front. These were
• 3:01
Speaker 3: shots that were difficult for Dan Vladar to see, and
• 3:04
Speaker 3: that's how you've got to beat a guy like that.
• 3:06
Speaker 1: 3-2 Kraken take down the Flyers in a shootout. Let's
• 3:09
Speaker 1: pause for a station identification on the Global Credit Union
• 3:12
Speaker 1: Kraken Audio Network. 3-2 win for the Kraken over the
• 3:27
Speaker 1: Flyers and we talked about the offense tonight, the working
• 3:31
Speaker 1: hard for the Kraken. How about goaltending? Philip Grubauer, another
• 3:35
Speaker 1: masterful night in goal for him. I don't think there's
• 3:38
Speaker 1: too many of the three that he, or the two rather,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: that he quote, would want to have back. He made
• 3:43
Speaker 1: some pretty big saves here tonight and We'll talk more
• 3:46
Speaker 1: about Grubauer in a second. But first, we'll head down
• 3:48
Speaker 1: to the dressing room. Josh Mahura standing by following this
• 3:52
Speaker 1: big 3-2 win over the Flyers. Mahura, you assisted on
• 3:56
Speaker 1: Ville Odovainen's first career goal back in the second period.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Congrats to you. But just take us through. This game,
• 4:03
Speaker 1: from your perspective, it wasn't an easy one here in Philadelphia,
• 4:06
Speaker 1: but you guys gutted and grinded out the big win
• 4:09
Speaker 1: and got the full two points.
• 4:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, thank you.
• 4:11
  Speaker 5: I don't know if it's much of a congrats to
• 4:14
Speaker 5: me as it is to Otto, but, yeah, no, it
• 4:17
Speaker 5: was nice to obviously get the two points. Gruby was
• 4:20
Speaker 5: incredible tonight like he always is. And, you know, we
• 4:23
Speaker 5: obviously had a little span in the third there where,
• 4:27
Speaker 5: you know, we kind of got away from our game
• 4:28
  Speaker 5: a little bit.
• 4:29
Speaker 4: Got a little tense and, you know, obviously got back
• 4:31
  Speaker 4: to it.
• 4:32
Speaker 5: So, you know, it's obviously nice to get the extra
• 4:34
Speaker 5: point there in the shootout and continue this good road trip.
• 4:40
Speaker 3: Josh, it got a little spicy there in the second period,
• 4:43
Speaker 3: and obviously, guys, you stood up to the task. But
• 4:46
Speaker 3: do you think that kind of started things going in
• 4:47
Speaker 3: the right direction for Philadelphia, obviously grabbing two in the
• 4:50
Speaker 3: third period and tying this up?
• 4:51
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, a little bit, maybe.
• 4:53
Speaker 5: I think at the end of the day, like, we're
• 4:56
Speaker 5: not really focused on what they're doing, what they're– kind
• 4:59
Speaker 5: of got going on. We talked about it between the
• 5:01
Speaker 5: second and third that we're going to try to stay
• 5:03
Speaker 5: out of their stuff and what they're trying to get going.
• 5:06
Speaker 5: So I guess credit to them and something that we
• 5:10
Speaker 5: can learn from here going forward, being able to hold
• 5:14
Speaker 5: on to leads and just play with a little bit
• 5:15
  Speaker 5: more composure.
• 5:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, we were talking about Grubauer's play tonight before you
• 5:19
Speaker 3: came on. Just talk about what it meant to have
• 5:21
Speaker 3: him back there tonight with a 9-2-3 save percentage, stopping
• 5:25
  Speaker 3: 24 of 26.
• 5:25
Speaker 4: I mean, it's every night with him. And Joe, too,
• 5:29
  Speaker 4: of course.
• 5:30
Speaker 5: We've got two incredible goaltenders that no matter who's playing,
• 5:34
Speaker 5: we feel so confident in front of them with what
• 5:37
Speaker 5: they're going to do behind us. They make a lot
• 5:40
Speaker 5: of timely saves and keep us in games when or
• 5:44
Speaker 5: giving us a chance no matter what.
• 5:45
Speaker 4: So, you know, it's a privilege for us to have
• 5:49
Speaker 4: the two of them.
• 5:50
Speaker 5: And, you know, especially like Grudenite, it was just, you know, incredible.
• 5:53
Speaker 5: And then you're watching him in the shootout there, and
• 5:55
Speaker 5: he just looks so calm and composed, just making save
• 5:58
Speaker 5: after save to give us a chance to go and
• 5:59
  Speaker 5: win it.
• 6:00
Speaker 4: And, you know, like I said, it's amazing having both
• 6:02
  Speaker 4: of them.
• 6:03
Speaker 3: And I know you defensemen play a role in that.
• 6:05
Speaker 3: It wasn't tonight, but last game you had a nice
• 6:07
Speaker 3: butterfly save there on the left side of the net.
• 6:09
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: Joined by Kraken defenseman Josh Mahura. One more for you, Josh. Unfortunately,
• 6:15
Speaker 1: the Kraken not able to score five goals every night.
• 6:17
Speaker 1: Some of them have to be a little bit tighter,
• 6:19
Speaker 1: but what did it say about your group here, the
• 6:22
Speaker 1: effort tonight? It wasn't easy. It wasn't pretty. You won
• 6:25
Speaker 1: a close, tight one-goal game. How did this game feel
• 6:29
Speaker 1: different than the other ones?
• 6:30
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, like I said, you go into the
• 6:32
  Speaker 4: third up, too.
• 6:33
Speaker 5: It's never something you want to give up to be
• 6:37
Speaker 5: going into overtime and into a shootout, but And, you know,
• 6:41
Speaker 5: it's a credit to us and the group we have
• 6:44
Speaker 5: just to, you know, be able to put that behind us,
• 6:46
Speaker 5: stick with it and, you know, just carry on and
• 6:49
Speaker 5: try to get back to our game and get the
• 6:50
Speaker 5: second point there. So, you know, we're not, like you said,
• 6:54
Speaker 5: going to score five goals or whatever it is every night. And,
• 6:57
Speaker 5: you know, we want to get comfortable in these type
• 6:59
Speaker 5: of games, these close games, especially with the lead in
• 7:01
  Speaker 5: the third.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: Well, Josh, hey, man, thanks for the time. Congrats on
• 7:04
Speaker 1: your assist. Congrats on a big, gutsy win here tonight
• 7:07
Speaker 1: in Philly. Let's head on to Florida on a good note.
• 7:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, awesome. Thanks, boys.
• 7:11
Speaker 1: All right, Kraken defenseman Josh Mahura following tonight's 3-2 win
• 7:15
Speaker 1: over the Philadelphia Flyers. Before we go to break, I
• 7:17
Speaker 1: want to wrap up that point about Grubauer. I mean,
• 7:20
Speaker 1: I don't think any more needs to be said, but
• 7:21
Speaker 1: we can go on more about just how good he's
• 7:24
Speaker 1: been playing. I mean, unbelievable, incredible, all of those platitudes
• 7:29
Speaker 1: that can be described for him. Another strong performance and
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: goal by Grubauer.
• 7:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, the thing about it is that when you get
• 7:36
Speaker 3: Gruby in net compared to Joey Decord, you get a
• 7:39
Speaker 3: little less puck play behind the net, but what you
• 7:41
Speaker 3: do get is a lot of good puck management. He
• 7:45
Speaker 3: keeps the puck in front of him like he did tonight.
• 7:46
Speaker 3: He made some great saves that resulted in key whistles
• 7:50
Speaker 3: in situations where personnel needed to get off the ice.
• 7:53
Speaker 3: I think he works really well with the defense in
• 7:55
  Speaker 3: front of him.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: We'll step out one more time, come back, and a
• 7:58
Speaker 1: wrap from Philly after this on the Global Credit Union
• 8:01
  Speaker 1: Kraken Audio Network.

Speaker 10: There's a place where the horizon feels endless, where the
• 9:36
Speaker 10: air is a little crisper, the work a little harder,
• 9:39
Speaker 10: and the reward tastes a whole lot better. The Rocky

Speaker 1: For the final time tonight, welcome back inside of Xfinity
• 10:18
Speaker 1: Lum Mobile Arena here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alongside Al Kaniski,
• 10:23
Speaker 1: I am Everett Fitzhugh cracking gut one out. A 3-2
• 10:26
Speaker 1: shootout win over the Flyers. They deny the home team
• 10:30
Speaker 1: their first win of the season and now head to Florida,
• 10:34
Speaker 1: Tampa to be specific on Thursday with a perfect 3-0-0
• 10:37
Speaker 1: record still intact on this road trip. Al, over to you.
• 10:41
Speaker 3: Yeah, a few key takeaways for me. I thought the
• 10:43
Speaker 3: first and second were a little sloppy. Phillip Grubauer did
• 10:45
Speaker 3: a good job helping out when that sloppiness turned into
• 10:48
Speaker 3: scoring opportunities for Philadelphia. After two periods, Seattle did a
• 10:52
Speaker 3: great job with blocks, so stopping their 13 shots from
• 10:55
Speaker 3: getting through to Grubauer. Philadelphia had nine at that point.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: The PK was perfect tonight, three for three, so that's
• 11:01
Speaker 3: a bright spot in addition to the win itself. Not
• 11:04
Speaker 3: able to close out the third. That's going to be
• 11:06
Speaker 3: talked about a little bit too. This didn't need to
• 11:08
Speaker 3: go to overtime and certainly didn't need to go to
• 11:10
Speaker 3: a shootout So closing out the third or closing out
• 11:12
Speaker 3: in the overtime has to be a priority. But ultimately,
• 11:16
Speaker 3: finding a way to win is important. 3-2 the Kraken win.
• 11:19
Speaker 3: Model K's three stars tonight. Trevor Zegras was the third
• 11:22
Speaker 3: star for the Philadelphia Flyers. He had a goal. He
• 11:25
Speaker 3: was plus one. He had five shots on goal. Kid
• 11:27
Speaker 3: likes to shoot the puck. Second star goes to Philip Grubauer, C-above,
• 11:31
  Speaker 3: stopping 24 of 26. A 9-2-3 save percentage for him.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: And your number one star tonight was Bobby McMahon. He
• 11:38
Speaker 3: had a goal back in the first period to get
• 11:40
Speaker 3: things going, and he had the final goal in the
• 11:42
Speaker 3: shootout to get the win for the Kraken. Three stars

• 12:06
Speaker 1: Back to Seattle we go. Mike Benton ready to recap
• 12:09
Speaker 1: this one and take you home.
• 12:10
Speaker 8: Mikey B, take it away.
• 12:12
Speaker 11: Maybe a little too close for comfort in this one,
• 12:14
Speaker 11: but Philip Grubauer and the Kraken get the last laugh. Fellas,
• 12:18
Speaker 11: great call once again. Viliota Vinen, quite the night for
• 12:21
Speaker 11: him as well to get his first career NHL goal
• 12:23

• 17:48
Speaker 1: Down for Samuskevich to the high slot. Audevinen shoots, scores!
• 17:56
Speaker 1: Ville Odovainen, his first goal in the National Hockey League,
• 18:01
Speaker 1: has given the Kraken a 2-0 lead with 11.06 to

Speaker 11: Philly Otto-Vinan, his first career NHL goal. Robin Esaqua called
• 18:11
Speaker 11: it correctly. He wins a pair of tickets here to
• 18:14
Speaker 11: an upcoming Kraken game. Otto-Vinan's first goal of his NHL
• 18:17
Speaker 11: career coming at 8.54 from Mackie Samaskevich and Josh Mahura.
• 18:22
Speaker 11: The Kraken leading it 2-0 at the end of two
• 18:25
Speaker 11: periods of play, but their work yet to be done.
• 18:29
Speaker 11: Philadelphia then began their rally, 6-0-7, into the third period.
• 18:33
Speaker 11: Christian Dvorak from Oliver Bonk and Dan Ladar got them
• 18:37
Speaker 11: on the board. And then we play it four on four.
• 18:40
Speaker 11: And Philip Grubauer and Trevor Zegras previously entangled in a
• 18:44
Speaker 11: couple of scrums. Guess who enters the picture for Philadelphia?
• 18:48
Speaker 1: Sanheim around Dunn. Sanheim right side. Puts on the brakes.
• 18:52
Speaker 1: Centers into the high slot.
• 18:54
  Speaker 17: Shot!
• 18:54
Speaker 18: And Zegras scores! More on for goal for Trevor Zegras.
• 19:07
Speaker 18: Flyers go back to back. And they tie the game
• 19:10
  Speaker 18: at two.
• 19:12
Speaker 11: Trevor Zegras in a massive slump to begin the season,
• 19:15
Speaker 11: but he picked a fine time, at least for his case,
• 19:17
Speaker 11: to get his first goal of the season at 720.
• 19:20
Speaker 11: And that led Philadelphia back to a 2-2 tie. Travis
• 19:24
Speaker 11: Sanheim and Owen Tippett had the assist on the play.
• 19:27
Speaker 11: And this game, excruciatingly, would require sudden death over time.
• 19:33
Speaker 11: The crack had a great shot to win. And as
• 19:34
Speaker 11: the Flyers recall, for too many men on the ice,
• 19:37
Speaker 11: the Flyers, though, killed the penalty. And into the shootout
• 19:40
Speaker 11: we went. Matty Beneers gave the Kraken a 1-0 shootout
• 19:43
Speaker 11: lead in round one. Matvey Michkov tied the shootout up
• 19:47
Speaker 11: in round two. After that, Philip Grubauer and Dan Vlodar
• 19:51
Speaker 11: locked into a duel. Into round five, Grubauer stopping Denver Barkey,
• 19:56
Speaker 11: and then Bobby McMahon into the spotlight with the game
• 20:00
  Speaker 11: on his stick.
• 20:01
  Speaker 2: Here's McMahon.
• 20:04
Speaker 1: Left-handed shot. Scored his third of the season earlier in
• 20:08
Speaker 1: the game. McMahon, left side, he's got speed, back to the.
• 20:12
  Speaker 18: Middle, shoots, scores!
• 20:16
Speaker 17: Bobby McMahon, the winner!
• 20:20
Speaker 1: On his stick! And the Seattle Kraken survive and advance
• 20:26
Speaker 1: out of Philadelphia. It's a 3-2 win in the shootout.
• 20:30
  Speaker 4: Well, why not?
• 20:31
Speaker 3: Why not the guy that's the shooter on this team?
• 20:33
Speaker 3: Why not the guy that got the scoring started tonight?
• 20:36
Speaker 3: He gets the scoring ended here with the shootout winner.
• 20:39
  Speaker 3: Kraken win, 3-2.
• 20:41
Speaker 11: And why not? A guy who's got now 13 goals
• 20:43
Speaker 11: since joining the Kraken in the first 25 games unprecedented.
• 20:47
Speaker 11: In Kraken history is a man to end this one,
• 20:50
Speaker 11: Bobby McMahon. Man, oh man, what a shot. And that
• 20:54
Speaker 11: gives the Kraken a 3-2 shootout victory over the Flyers
• 20:57
Speaker 11: and a 3-0 record on this road trip with now
• 21:01
Speaker 11: five wins in seven games for the first time in
• 21:04
Speaker 11: franchise history. Final shots on net, 31 for the Kraken,
• 21:07
Speaker 11: 26 for Philadelphia. Philip Grubauer was terrific in net tonight.
• 21:12
Speaker 11: He had the win on a 24-save effort. The shootout
• 21:15
Speaker 11: lost to Dan Vladar, 29 saves on 31 shots for
• 21:20
Speaker 11: his efforts. He was certainly tough. Time now for the
• 21:23
Speaker 11: Coors Light chillest moments of the game. Kraken fans, again,
• 21:25
Speaker 11: you can win your chance to sit in the Coors

• 21:35
Speaker 11: Coors Light, choose chill, celebrate responsibly. First off, it was
• 21:39
Speaker 11: Jordan Eberle earning a penalty shot and a shot at
• 21:43
  Speaker 11: Kraken history.
• 21:44
Speaker 1: Eberle picks up the puck on the approach, he'll carry
• 21:47
Speaker 1: it wide, far side, back to the faceoff dot, not
• 21:50
Speaker 1: on the slot, Eberle a backhand on, and a kick
• 21:53
Speaker 1: save by Dan Vladar.
• 21:56
Speaker 11: That coming back at 6.23 at period two, he was
• 21:59
Speaker 11: so close to going backhander, but Vladar earned the save,
• 22:02
Speaker 11: and the Kraken still searching for their first penalty shot goal,
• 22:06
Speaker 11: now through six attempts in franchise history. Second moment, the
• 22:10
Speaker 11: game within the game between Philip Grubauer and Trevor Zegras,
• 22:13
Speaker 11: and the two exchanging pushes and shoves and some gamesmanship
• 22:17
Speaker 11: as well. Zegras would eventually be given a two-minute, especially
• 22:21
Speaker 11: like conduct penalty, opposite Philip Grubauer, and then Zegras scored
• 22:25
Speaker 11: later in the game. But Grubauer, who was great all
• 22:28
Speaker 11: night and in the shootout, would eventually get the last laugh.
• 22:31

  Speaker 16: It is Urom!
• 22:50
Speaker 19: Great setup from Brink. Lorenzo grabbing assist as well.
• 22:54
Speaker 1: And the Wild, just like that, leading 3-0.
