- 0:00Name's Mick from brue House Productions, Dirty Brew. We've got big gig on
- 0:05December thirty at the back room. Twenty bands, two stages, two hundred
- 0:09beers, all that sort of shenanigans. It's going to be a big day.
- 0:13Forty dollars pre sale available tickets all from all the bands, and yeah,
- 0:18we just came for a big day. Gooda met, Thanks for joining
- 0:21us, brother, thanks for having me, Mate, Pleasure, Pleasure saves
- 0:26your same man, your promotion company. Blue House Productions are putting on a
- 0:30monster show in the backroom and atalie on December thirty, Feature and counterfeit,
- 0:34limp biscuit show like we're the Hollow, dirty Breue, Snake, Mountain Crave
- 0:38and heap them all. Sounds like a massive Nightmate, It's going to be
- 0:43a big day. Yeah. Doors are a twelve first band. I think
- 0:46it's going to be starting about one o'clock. I need to finalize those set
- 0:49times this week. And yeah, it should be good already. Fifth few
- 0:53tickets sold, so it'shaping up to be a pearlo if it's anything like last
- 0:56year. We sold nearly four hundred tickets, so hopefully we can do that
- 1:00again. Shit So let's run through a couple of the bands on the lineup
- 1:03made it and tell us more about him and why they were on the show.
- 1:07So we'll start with a Limp Biscuit counterfeit show. Well, olymp Biscuit.
- 1:11We've got to give a shout out to Andy there made He's been doing
- 1:14it, doing it hard for the scene for a long time. And I
- 1:18mean, obviously they've just played good things lymp Biscuits, so everyone to be
- 1:22on a bit of a limp rolling on a little bit of olymp Biscuit bandwagon,
- 1:26so to speak. So it's kind of ideal to have them on.
- 1:30I actually booked them before Limp Biscuit got announced, so I kind of really
- 1:34just worked in my favor. And you know, I'm good mates with Andy
- 1:38and they were actually going to play Brufest for me last year, which actually
- 1:42had to end up getting canceled because of the floods last year, so I
- 1:48owed him the show anyway, So what better one to do than an end
- 1:52of year party. Yeah, and you also got fuc for a sunder construction,
- 1:57or commonly known as tell us about going oh yeah, fucking Toddy and
- 2:02fucking bands with the mankinis I mean leave nothing to the imagination. And man,
- 2:08they're just genuine Ossie thrash metal and it's Toddy. Who doesn't love Toddy
- 2:15in a man with a flow and dreadlineskinis made. There's not a bigger section.
- 2:21That's it. We'll run through a few of the local ones now in
- 2:24case people don't know about these guys. So we got we're the hollow one
- 2:28there, So we're the hollow. They've been kicking around for a little little
- 2:31bit now, I've I've had them on a few of my shows and they
- 2:36just but personally I like them. I think their music is great. They're
- 2:43really good guys and I'm really good mates for Scotty as well. And it's
- 2:46just and they do the job. They sell the tickets that they're supposed to
- 2:51sell. They do everything right, you know. And and that's a good
- 2:54part of why I like to rebook bands, is you know, bands that
- 2:58do the right thing and bens that don't do the right thing. Obviously you
- 3:00don't get booked to get yeah, fair cool. Have we got the Legends
- 3:05and the gold Snake Mountain Snake Mountain. Yeah. So I've known nev for
- 3:10a few years now and he's helped me with a couple of promo things and
- 3:13that, and I needed to sort of I wanted someone sort of from the
- 3:17Gold Coast that was sort of a little bit established. And we played with
- 3:22them down at Wallapalooza back in November, one of Andy shows, and they
- 3:28were just great. And I didn't they were already on the show before that,
- 3:30but it was just it was good to catch up with the boys and
- 3:32they're just genuinely nice dudes and they're well worth the slot for sure. Yeah,
- 3:38and then you got the band who recently just done a massive chour with
- 3:42Suicidal Tendencies in Crave. Yes, they I have been on the Crave bandwagon
- 3:47for a long time. I had them on my New Year's last year as
- 3:51well. They absolutely wailed and they supported Avatar. I saw them at Avatar,
- 3:57and I think that's when I asked them. Actually at Avatar they played
- 4:00because I've been meaning to message Sianna and I'd forgotten, and because I'm pretty
- 4:04slack sometimes, but would have been mate. They're young, and they work
- 4:10hard. They work hard, so they they're playing all the time, they're
- 4:14doing regional stuff. They just they don't stop their workhorses and their music is
- 4:17fucking sick. Sure we'll finish up the local round up with some band called
- 4:24Gertie Brew. Have you heard of those fuckings? Nah, I heard the
- 4:28shout. I don't know about them. We're we're actually playing this with our
- 4:36bass players had shoulder surgery, so we played Wallapalooza with a fill in bass
- 4:41player. And I've actually got a mate from Melbourne coming up for this show,
- 4:46which I believe you know, he's a bit of an acquaintance of yours,
- 4:48of Mick Jones. He's going to play bass for us at this show.
- 4:54Well, I'll let you in a little sob I'll be telling telling the
- 4:57rest of the world. This is the first time too. But I'm a
- 4:59little bit of a with old me. I'm a hat. You know,
- 5:01the latest heavy shirt bunch it up on the back. I stole that off.
- 5:05I stole that off here. Yeah, I know that I know you,
- 5:10but not many other people doing to you now. So I said,
- 5:15yeah, good, people love that. He mess with me the other day.
- 5:20Actually, he's learnt all the songs. He's ready to go, he's
- 5:24keen, he's got the dates, he's coming and we're just gonna have a
- 5:27rip of time. Yeah, good blake and it should be good, good
- 5:29fit for the bend or I know he says, punch enough to me in
- 5:31your beand so that's one thing. He's got too much gray hair. We'll
- 5:39keep him from one or two and see how he goes there. This is
- 5:46regularly a New Year's gig, has been promoters the New Year's Gig by a
- 5:49lot of people, but this year is actually the day before New Years,
- 5:53which is a Saturday night. Like it's an awesome idea, what did you
- 5:56do? Well? It's still to be honest, New Year's Eve was on
- 6:00a Sunday and everyone had the Monday off or whatever. But last year when
- 6:05it was on the Saturday and the Monday was the holiday, it just gives
- 6:09you that extra couple of days. And not so much a New Years Eve
- 6:13party anymore. It's more of just an end of the year party, just
- 6:15for everyone to just tell the whole year to get fucked and start again.
- 6:19Essentully welcome. I promise the kids New Year's Eve with them this year,
- 6:25And when they've just got announced, I've looked in the lineup, I've gone
- 6:28like, how do I break it to the kids. It was the day
- 6:30before, so I did to do both. Yeah, and then yeah,
- 6:34it freeze everyone up to do family things or have other plans. New Year's
- 6:39Eve and it freezes everybody up to to do whatever they want. And then
- 6:43on just the last Saturday of every year, this is what we're doing.
- 6:46Good. Yeah, Now, I know you're touching this before me, but
- 6:49I want to give it a bit more emphasis because it helps the bands out
- 6:53as well. But tickets to forty dollars pre style or there's sixty bucks on
- 6:56the door, but you can buy them three, you guys. But every
- 6:59band playing it's got their own tickets that they can sell too to help out.
- 7:01Is that right, Yeah, every band's got their own physical pre sale
- 7:05tickets, so buy them directly through the bands. That's how the bands get
- 7:09paid. So basically it's I have a bit of a fair deal where I
- 7:13give bands a cut of every ticket they sell, and it's a generous amount.
- 7:16It's not one or two dollars, it's quite a lot more than that.
- 7:21But obviously I need promoters, need cuts from tickets to pay for shit.
- 7:26But I want bands to be rewarded for their hard work. So no
- 7:30other bands get a cut of tickets. So say if I sell ten tickets,
- 7:34no other band gets a cut of the tickets that I sell, I
- 7:36get that whole cut for myself. And that's why we push people. It's
- 7:42the brew House ways. What we've always done is you push people to the
- 7:45bands to buy tickets from the bands directly, because then the bands essentially get
- 7:49more money. Oh goody. The back roommate where it's being held, it's
- 7:54I think it's one of the best venues in Brisbane and it's so underrated,
- 7:57but he doesn't get the intention it deserves one hundred percent. I think it
- 8:01is the it's a prestige venue. You can have international acts there and they're
- 8:07they're doing a few renovations and things and next year it's just going to be
- 8:11turned up quite substantially. I'm actually going in there tonight to supply a writer
- 8:18for one of the bands on the weekend. But they're doing so much work
- 8:22in there to bring the international acts into that room. It's an eight hundred
- 8:28capacity room and not many people think of that. I mean Phil Enselmo played
- 8:31there and it's sold out, you know, and it's if it's good enough
- 8:33for Phil and Selmo. It should be fucking good enough for anybody said,
- 8:37And then there's a bit of a breaking or like a misconception that it's too
- 8:41far out. But it's only really five minutes from the city. It's like
- 8:43it's not that far out at all. But yeah, people will drive forty
- 8:46five minutes to go to Eaton's Hill. You work that one out exactly.
- 8:50Where's agree with you? You've got this company, brew House Productions, Mate,
- 8:58how many people know about that? I so tell us a bit more
- 9:01about that. Uh, well, basically, I started it up because I
- 9:07just wanted to play gigs, really and I just went, well, i'll
- 9:11just do it myself and put on my own gigs. And I just started
- 9:13doing it that way. I didn't have an intention to get it anywhere.
- 9:18But it's been growing and things like that. And I should have taken a
- 9:22break this year, but I didn't because I needed to keep my mind occupied
- 9:26with a lot of personal shit going on. But next year after this,
- 9:31I'm taking a break for a little bit. But I have an international tour
- 9:35on the horizon for Brewhouse Productions. I'm bringing an international artist over at the
- 9:41end of next year. Why is this the first time hearing of it because
- 9:46I haven't told anyone. I'll let you get away. We'll talk more about
- 9:50that. Actually, no, Lauren knows about it, of course she does.
- 9:54Yeah, well she's forgiven. But we'll talk more later, all right.
- 10:01So we've mentioned also that you're in a Dirty Brewmate like, tell us
- 10:03a bit more about you guys and what us it up to in the near
- 10:05future. So basically we're, yeah, we're rolling into the year. We're
- 10:11going to write a little bit more, try and actually record a few more
- 10:15songs because we haven't recorded anything for a while. Our singer has applied to
- 10:20be a firefighter. Actually he's fit as fuck. He's it's a funny roster.
- 10:26They give you a twelve month roster, so we're not committing to anything
- 10:30until we find out what's going on with him, and then we're going to
- 10:33work around his roster and hid weekends with separated parents and shit, so you
- 10:39know, you know, we all know what that's like. Yeah, sure
- 10:41do all right, met, Well, thanks very much for your time and
- 10:45I made The show is on December thirtieth at the back Room in Adelie.
- 10:48Got Outfit Left Biscuit, Mike, We the Hollow, Dirty Bruce Snake,
- 10:52Mountain Craze, heeds More, twenty bands, two stages, forty bucks pre
- 10:56sale off the bands, or you get it from brue househouldn't say I missed
- 11:00anything. It's sponsored by New Said Brewing and Jack Daniels and Jack Daniels is
- 11:05the best in the business. So you've got me airline on that runner.
- 11:09They sure do. Mate. Thanks for your Tom Brad. We'll catch up
- 11:13soon. Awesome, Mad, I'll talk to you. I thank you.
