Volunteers hit the streets of Northern Virginia this Thursday to map extreme urban heat, collaborating with George Mason University and the Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions. Over 30 teams will collect real-time temperature, humidity, and thermal data across Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria to reveal which neighborhoods suffer most from the urban heat island effect.
