Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Angie and I have used some dms that we have received.
- 0:05Speaker 1: These are very real mm hmm, and turn them into
- 0:08Speaker 1: some wonderful songs for you today.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Here's the thing, the difference between the life of a
- 0:13Speaker 2: man and a woman, because gabes dms are incredibly wholesome,
- 0:18Speaker 2: I would say, and my dms are filled with gross
- 0:23Speaker 2: self married men saying vile things, to the point where
- 0:28Speaker 2: I had to be real selective about which ones we
- 0:31Speaker 2: used in the song.
- 0:32Speaker 3: So that I wouldn't get in trouble at work.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And I have to say, is it's easier being a
- 0:37Speaker 2: dude than it is a girl when it comes to DM.
- 0:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I say this a lot. My life just kind
- 0:41Speaker 4: of sort of works.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Out a lot and mine does not.
- 0:45Speaker 1: For example, these are very real dms I have received.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Enjoy this song. It's wonderful.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Hey God Leah having a baby, and I love the
- 0:59Speaker 4: few when you have could attend.

- 1:40Speaker 3: Everyone's inviting you.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The things they're saying that you're funny and that you
- 1:45Speaker 2: make them smile.
- 1:47Speaker 4: They miss me at my oiation. It's very wonderful.
- 1:51Speaker 3: All right, So now let's pivot to my ridiculous d

- 3:21Speaker 1: Will say, I will say that's my favorite part of
- 3:24Speaker 1: that song.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Will you please reply?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Then another married man asking me with my breast reduction,
- 3:33Speaker 2: what brasize.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I am with a wink emo G.

- 3:40Speaker 2: me is You're not funny.
- 3:41Speaker 3: You is bad role models. I'm not funny.
- 3:46Speaker 4: You is bad role models? Is great?
- 3:48Speaker 7: You is bad English celebrating life's little victories every morning
- 3:58Speaker 7: we practice gratitude on Big ninety.
- 4:00Speaker 5: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:03Speaker 5: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I just really needed to win, you know.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 4:11Speaker 6: one eight seven, and Angie, before we get to your
- 4:14Speaker 6: little victory, I really want to share ericas because this
- 4:16Speaker 6: is so unique.
- 4:17Speaker 1: But I get why it's cool, Okay, Erica said, I
- 4:21Speaker 1: moved to the city about a year ago, and today,
- 4:24Speaker 1: for the first time, my favorite barista at my favorite
- 4:28Speaker 1: coffee spot asked me the usual when I walked in.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I'm officially irregular.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I feel like that's what the dream.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, that is the dream. You see it growing
- 4:39Speaker 2: up on.
- 4:40Speaker 3: All like the Si Thoms and stuff like, oh the usual.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And then there's a usual that you get and they
- 4:46Speaker 2: know that it's you.
- 4:47Speaker 3: That's magical. Only took a year. That's actually really impressive.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that means they remember you when you walk in,
- 4:52Speaker 1: They care. Their heart moves a tiny bit when you
- 4:55Speaker 1: walk in the door, which is awesome. So congratulations to you, Angie.
- 4:59Speaker 1: You have a little bit four us here today.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I do so for the last eight weeks.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I have made some changes in my life just to
- 5:08Speaker 2: get more active in my life, to make a little
- 5:10Speaker 2: bit healthier choices. Because your girl is just trying to
- 5:13Speaker 2: slim down to fit into clothes that she outgrew.
- 5:16Speaker 3: And so.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I've been, you know, stepping on the scale, seeing like,
- 5:21Speaker 2: oh I have any changes happened. But there are non
- 5:25Speaker 2: scale victories that are just as important as the number more.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yes, and sup, I went down a pants size.
- 5:34Speaker 1: All right, congratulations to Angie, thank you.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I went shopping for jeans yesterday and I thought, oh great,
- 5:42Speaker 2: I gotta grab this size that I hate being in
- 5:45Speaker 2: and it was too big. So then I sized down
- 5:47Speaker 2: and they fit just right. I felt like Goldilocks eating
- 5:51Speaker 2: Baby Bear's porridge.
- 5:52Speaker 3: It was just right.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's wonderful. Yeah, And shopping for girl jeans I would
- 5:57Speaker 1: imagine as a nightmare. You guys have like fifty billion
- 5:59Speaker 1: different size. Oh yeah, it's.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Like one three five or two four six or twenty eight,
- 6:05Speaker 2: twenty nine thirty, and there's no rhyme or reason for it.
- 6:09Speaker 3: No one pair fits the same.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 3: But for this specific.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Brand of gene that I like, I went down a size,
- 6:16Speaker 2: And for that I'm very grateful.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Well, good for you. I'm very happy for you, Angie.
- 6:20Speaker 1: My little victory, I mean, it's not gonna be surprising
- 6:23Speaker 1: at all, but uh, my little victory was the Minnesota
- 6:26Speaker 1: Wild winning yesterday, which was great, But the real victory
- 6:30Speaker 1: was the game started at seven pm. Do you know
- 6:33Speaker 1: how nice it was for that game to be over
- 6:36Speaker 1: by nine thirty and I could take my little head
- 6:39Speaker 1: to my little pillow and close my eyes before ten o'clock.
- 6:42Speaker 1: What a wonderful feeling to be able to watch the
- 6:45Speaker 1: entirety of the Minnesota Wild game last night and did
- 6:48Speaker 1: not going until midnight or one am, because I have
- 6:52Speaker 1: done that in this playoff series, which is insane. So
- 6:55Speaker 1: the fact that I got to watch the whole game
- 6:57Speaker 1: yesterday and go to bed at a would call it
- 7:00Speaker 1: insanely late but a summer.
- 7:01Speaker 3: But for you, it's a normal hour, normal time.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Man.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I want that for you because I've been concerned. I
- 7:07Speaker 2: know that you're a diehard fan, but I want you.
- 7:10Speaker 3: To get some red.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I know, and that game being at seven o'clock and
- 7:14Speaker 1: the win obviously has put me in a wonderful mood today.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yesterday there was a moment here at the Big ninety
- 7:23Speaker 1: eight point seven building Radio FM media that should be
- 7:25Speaker 1: marked down in history. April twenty eighth, twenty twenty six.
- 7:31Speaker 1: If you don't know this about our Angie, she is
- 7:33Speaker 1: one of the most bubbly, fun, exciting people to be
- 7:38Speaker 1: around on Earth. Big that's a genuine compliment. And one
- 7:43Speaker 1: thing also about Angie is you can hear that excitement
- 7:46Speaker 1: from across the building.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I am so loud.
- 7:51Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I'm But also I think you know
- 7:56Speaker 1: we both are.
- 7:57Speaker 4: We both are loud. It's not just you. We both
- 7:59Speaker 4: speak with vall.
- 8:00Speaker 3: We both speak with volume.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I think everyone has that friend in their life that's
- 8:04Speaker 1: that's loud.
- 8:06Speaker 4: One yea one has one.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But I think the.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Better a time I'm having than the louder I get,
- 8:12Speaker 2: like my base level loud. So then if I'm like
- 8:16Speaker 2: having a great time, even louder, and I get that
- 8:19Speaker 2: that can be jarring and awful.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Spreading joy and positivity.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Well, the thing is, Gabe, like you always make me,
- 8:26Speaker 2: is this just like a love fest?
- 8:27Speaker 3: You always make me laugh.
- 8:28Speaker 2: When we're in your office after the show, planning the
- 8:30Speaker 2: show for the next day. We're always just kind of
- 8:33Speaker 2: laughing and having a good time. And then I was like,
- 8:36Speaker 2: working on something on my computer and I start for
- 8:39Speaker 2: no reason. I don't even think I realize I'm doing
- 8:41Speaker 2: it sometimes, but I'm like la la la, like I'm
- 8:43Speaker 2: just humming something or making noise something, And all of
- 8:47Speaker 2: a sudden I hear this very loud I'm in mid
- 8:53Speaker 2: la whatever it is I'm doing, and then I hear
- 8:55Speaker 2: a very loud sh It was louder than that, Actually
- 8:59Speaker 2: it was very There was a lot of what do
- 9:01Speaker 2: you say.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Duck sauce on that shit?
- 9:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And I got so scared and I immediately shut up,
- 9:08Speaker 2: and Gabe looks up at me and goes, did you
- 9:10Speaker 2: just get in trouble?
- 9:13Speaker 4: It was.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Angie instantly went from the loud, fun going You're easy going,
- 9:19Speaker 1: fun Angie. I swear to goodness back to seven years
- 9:23Speaker 1: old when someone told her to be quiet and cindergarten
- 9:25Speaker 1: class or something. She curled up like a little mouse
- 9:29Speaker 1: and instantly went to, oh, I'm in trouble.
- 9:32Speaker 4: And I had looked up like, wow, you just get shushed?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and I said I think I think I did,
- 9:39Speaker 2: And I got very quiet, and maybe a minute passed,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and you can't hear anything now in the office, so
- 9:46Speaker 2: apparently I was the only one being loud.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Our buddy Farley, Yeah, he walks past your office and
- 9:55Speaker 2: he goes, you actually shut up when I.
- 10:00Speaker 3: What a relief.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Strolling us, which is fine, but I sure shut up
- 10:08Speaker 2: for the rest of the time.
- 10:09Speaker 4: My god.
- 10:10Speaker 1: But it was the quietest I seen angieb for the
- 10:12Speaker 1: next remaining three four hours or whatever.
- 10:14Speaker 3: It shook me.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it shook me.
- 10:17Speaker 2: And I know that he was just kidding maybe, but
- 10:19Speaker 2: a lot of truth is said in jest. In his
- 10:21Speaker 2: office is right next to ours. But I think I'm
- 10:24Speaker 2: gonna I'm gonna think twice before I start running my
- 10:27Speaker 2: mouth all loud.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Here, we thought we had this big, bad, tough Angie
- 10:32Speaker 1: and one shush dinner in for the rest.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Of the day. Our Angie's a bit of a woosh.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I am coming up here on May tenth, Mother's Day
- 10:49Speaker 5: and we're doing something very fun here at Big ninety
- 10:51Speaker 5: eight point seven with the super Mom Hotline.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So basically, you call the super Mom Hotline seven oh
- 10:58Speaker 2: one four nine six nine zero three and you leave
- 11:03Speaker 2: a message letting us know why your mom is the
- 11:06Speaker 2: best mom, and then all Mother's Day week leading up
- 11:10Speaker 2: to Mother's Day, we will air those for the special
- 11:13Speaker 2: mom in your life.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Yeah, like, for example, we have a message like this.
- 11:17Speaker 8: He gives me tuddles and I really love it.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Oh that's so sweet. Now I don't know this person's name.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I do apologize, but if that was your son and
- 11:26Speaker 1: you recognize that voice, just know that he called and
- 11:29Speaker 1: left you a happy Mother's Day message here at Big
- 11:32Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven, which is awesome. We also have
- 11:34Speaker 1: another one here and I've got it right here.
- 11:37Speaker 8: Hello. My name is Elina, and I just wanted to
- 11:41Speaker 8: say that my mom, Renee Laudi, is awesome, and I
- 11:46Speaker 8: wanted to know if you guys could say Renee Laudi
- 11:51Speaker 8: is awesome on your guys. NAS showed so she could
- 11:54Speaker 8: hear it so she would feel special. Thank you. Bye.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Well you're pretty awesome, all right, You'll be Mary awesome.
- 12:04Speaker 3: So that's it's so simple.
- 12:05Speaker 2: So just give the super Mom hotline a call seven
- 12:08Speaker 2: oh one four nine nine six nine zero three and
- 12:12Speaker 2: let the mom in your life know why she's the
- 12:14Speaker 2: absolute best.
- 12:17Speaker 6: This is am I, the problem it's me.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Hi, the problem is me.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 12:33Speaker 4: That's right, I am the problem.
- 12:35Speaker 6: On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 12:38Speaker 3: This is WiFi versus Hobby. Who has the right idea?
- 12:42Speaker 2: Here?
- 12:43Speaker 3: Good morning, guys.
- 12:44Speaker 2: This is a Lana and I'm a really big ginormous
- 12:47Speaker 2: fan of the show.
- 12:47Speaker 3: And hope you guys are on air forever. Oh that's
- 12:50Speaker 3: very nice.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Thank you a lot sweet things.
- 12:52Speaker 3: In fact, she's already right in my head. Okay, no,
- 12:54Speaker 3: just kidding.
- 12:55Speaker 2: My Hobby and I had an argument last night and
- 12:58Speaker 2: I wanted to get your opinion on it. We just
- 13:01Speaker 2: moved into a new house and we're near a golf course,
- 13:03Speaker 2: so I told him I want us to join the
- 13:06Speaker 2: golf club. He asked why, because we're not golfers, but
- 13:09Speaker 2: I said, I want to make new friends. He said,
- 13:12Speaker 2: we're too old to make new friends, and we have
- 13:16Speaker 2: friends already.
- 13:18Speaker 3: We do have friends, and.
- 13:20Speaker 2: We love them, but we are forty five minutes away
- 13:22Speaker 2: from them now. But we are definitely not old. He
- 13:25Speaker 2: is forty and I'm thirty nine. Ooh a someone who's
- 13:28Speaker 2: thirty eight definitely not old. He still says it's a no,
- 13:32Speaker 2: because you can't really make new friends. At this age,
- 13:34Speaker 2: and we need to focus on making time for the
- 13:36Speaker 2: ones we have.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I think it's never too late to.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Make new friends, especially with how busy life is. It's
- 13:42Speaker 2: good to have some nearby, you know what. I prematurely
- 13:45Speaker 2: said this, but now I am doubling down. Alana, you
- 13:48Speaker 2: are not the problem. Your husband is the problem for
- 13:52Speaker 2: thinking too old to make new friends. I literally am
- 13:56Speaker 2: been trying to make new friends, and I'm thirty eight.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I think it is not too old.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I totally get her point that they don't live super
- 14:04Speaker 2: close to their friends anymore, so you gotta have ones
- 14:08Speaker 2: close by that you can turn to. I have a
- 14:11Speaker 2: lot of great friends that don't live in the same
- 14:14Speaker 2: place that I live anymore, because I moved for this job,
- 14:17Speaker 2: and so I can't imagine spending all my time, like
- 14:20Speaker 2: the hubby said, trying to make time and like schedule
- 14:24Speaker 2: and book flights and whatever to see my friends as
- 14:26Speaker 2: much as I want, which cool, but that's not realistic.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So yeah, I've tried to make friends here in Fargo,
- 14:34Speaker 2: and I am doing great so far, I think.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So why did you laugh at that the way.
- 14:40Speaker 4: You said that. I thought you were being sarcastical.
- 14:42Speaker 3: No, I think I'm doing a decent job. I will
- 14:45Speaker 3: say it is harder.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I think I think that it is harder to make
- 14:49Speaker 2: friends when you're an adult, just because you know, when
- 14:53Speaker 2: you're a kid, you're at school all day, right, So
- 14:56Speaker 2: there's plenty of kids in school you can pick to
- 14:58Speaker 2: be your friends.
- 15:00Speaker 3: When you're an.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Adult, you're at work, and that's like the pool is
- 15:05Speaker 2: smaller of people to pick to be your friends, and
- 15:08Speaker 2: so that can be more difficult.
- 15:09Speaker 3: So I get that it is harder.
- 15:11Speaker 2: However, I don't think it's impossible, and I think the
- 15:13Speaker 2: hubby is being lazy.
- 15:16Speaker 1: What was this woman's name, Alana? Yeah, Alana, I'll be
- 15:18Speaker 1: your friend right now. What's golf course are you living on?
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm trying to come play some golf. Are you kidding me?
- 15:23Speaker 1: Go in the backyard. You're on hole six, let's go, right.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I actually do kind of agree with the hubby. Also,
- 15:30Speaker 1: forty five minutes that's not I mean, that's not far.
- 15:33Speaker 1: You can go hang out with them every day.
- 15:35Speaker 2: No, but life is busy. That's the whole thing is
- 15:38Speaker 2: that it's busy. I can tell you right now, Gabe,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't have forty five minutes round trip that's what
- 15:45Speaker 2: ninety minutes.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I don't have an hour and a half.
- 15:48Speaker 2: To drive during the day to then hang out with
- 15:51Speaker 2: my friend come back like that's too much, you know.
- 15:54Speaker 1: And there's this famous saying I've seen from ladies on Instagram.
- 15:58Speaker 1: If he wanted to, he would You know what, angie,
- 16:00Speaker 1: if you wanted to, you would take forty five minutes
- 16:03Speaker 1: to go visit your friends.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Here's what I'm.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You're never too old to make new friends. Obviously that
- 16:09Speaker 1: argument is ridiculous. Age has nothing to do with it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But you can be too old to want to put
- 16:14Speaker 1: in all the effort to make like a quality friend.
- 16:18Speaker 1: If you need a nice if you need a nice acquaintance,
- 16:22Speaker 1: that's about what you should be doing at forty forty five, right,
- 16:26Speaker 1: nice acquaintance that maybe you get some coffee with once
- 16:28Speaker 1: in a while, you know, you go watch the game
- 16:30Speaker 1: or have a beer with or something.
- 16:32Speaker 4: But friend at forty five. At thirty five, I'm like,
- 16:36Speaker 4: oh gosh, it is hard to friend.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Fact, this might be like a gender thing. Like I
- 16:43Speaker 2: feel like, dudes, yeah, do you guys we're saying mind
- 16:47Speaker 2: just being at home on the couch.
- 16:49Speaker 4: You know how nice that is?
- 16:51Speaker 2: I feel like it's easier for women to connect with
- 16:53Speaker 2: other women because we tend to be more open and vulnerable.
- 16:58Speaker 3: What you're describing the game today? Yeah, I guess I
- 17:02Speaker 3: feel like that's as far as you guys go.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Have you ever seen two dudes hang out?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I've seen you and Mikey hanging up.
- 17:08Speaker 4: We don't speak.
- 17:09Speaker 1: We just sit there and kind of grunt at each other.
- 17:12Speaker 1: That's how males connect day.
- 17:13Speaker 3: So that doesn't even seem like that much effort. So
- 17:16Speaker 3: now I'm really on a Lana's side.
- 17:17Speaker 1: You're asking him to leave the house and go do that.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That's now you're asking way too much.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Okay, what do you think? Seven oh one to two
- 17:24Speaker 2: aaight to we're clearly heated. Seven oh one two ado
- 17:26Speaker 2: one nine eight seven. We also have this up on
- 17:29Speaker 2: the big ninety eight points up on Facebook page. What
- 17:31Speaker 2: are your thoughts? Is Alana right, you're never too old
- 17:33Speaker 2: to make friends? Or is her husband right.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Absolutely too old?
- 17:41Speaker 1: That son could hurry on up. By the way, though
- 17:43Speaker 1: it looks cloudy outside, you know, I don't like it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So Alana wants to know if she's correct or if
- 17:49Speaker 2: her husband is correct. They move to a new place
- 17:51Speaker 2: by a golf course. They she wants to join the
- 17:56Speaker 2: golf club to make new friends. Her husband says, we
- 18:00Speaker 2: are too old to make new friends.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Where are god true? Hubby?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, they're only forty years old and thirty nine years old,
- 18:09Speaker 2: and she thinks, no, no, that is not too old.
- 18:12Speaker 3: To make friends.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I am on a Lota side that is not too
- 18:14Speaker 2: old to make friends. Your husband is being ridiculous. Gabe
- 18:19Speaker 2: is on the hubby side. He said that they're too
- 18:21Speaker 2: old to put an effort for new friendships.
- 18:24Speaker 3: So where do you stay at any.
- 18:26Speaker 4: New friends at forty? Just get good acquaintances. I disagree.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Tyler said, definitely not too old to learn golf or
- 18:34Speaker 1: make new friends. You're never too old to learn golf.
- 18:36Speaker 1: That part is true. The hobby is one thousand percent
- 18:39Speaker 1: wrong on that. Oh my gosh, get your booty on
- 18:42Speaker 1: that golf course.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Brother.
- 18:43Speaker 2: No, but he also agreed with me and said you're
- 18:46Speaker 2: never too old to have new friends.
- 18:48Speaker 3: And I like that.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Julia said, hubby is definitely the problem, but as an introvert,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I kind of get it. I also like to usually
- 18:55Speaker 1: stay at home and just hang out with my family.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Well, fine, but clearly Alana is not about that. Life.
- 19:03Speaker 2: She's forty five minutes away from the people that she
- 19:07Speaker 2: calls family.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Really, I'm glad you brought that up, Angie, because forty
- 19:11Speaker 1: five minutes is nothing. If my buddy Jake lived forty
- 19:14Speaker 1: five minutes away, I would probably see him every day.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Who has the time? You know what, Gabe, you don't
- 19:21Speaker 3: have a child yet.
- 19:23Speaker 4: That's exactly right.
- 19:25Speaker 3: That will change.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I guess that's kind of my point though.
- 19:27Speaker 1: So like, if you make a new friend that's closer,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you still have a kid, you still have things you're
- 19:32Speaker 1: gonna do. It's not like you can really hang out
- 19:33Speaker 1: with them every single evening in No, but if.
- 19:35Speaker 2: They're close, they can come over to your house and
- 19:38Speaker 2: just be there while the kids are there.
- 19:40Speaker 4: But they can do that forty five minutes away, they dude.
- 19:43Speaker 2: No, you don't know how difficult it is to get
- 19:45Speaker 2: kids out the door, Gabe. It's the bane of my
- 19:47Speaker 2: existence anytime I have to get my kids out the door.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I'm confused, though, what does that have to do with anything.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Forty five minutes that's I mean, that's nothing. There are
- 19:57Speaker 1: people who drive further than that to work every day.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I'm not getting paid to hang out with people for.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm glad you brought that up, because Yolanda said, forty
- 20:06Speaker 1: five minutes away from your friends is nothing. I lived
- 20:09Speaker 1: that far away from everything. But she did add new
- 20:12Speaker 1: friends can always be welcome. Plus, learning golf could be
- 20:15Speaker 1: great for you and your hobby if you pick up
- 20:17Speaker 1: new friends also, that's awesome. See that's where I think
- 20:21Speaker 1: Alana went wrong. We should have framed this as, Hey, honey,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I really want to learn a new hobby together.
- 20:29Speaker 4: I really want to do this together. It could be
- 20:30Speaker 4: a you and me thing.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Knowing in the back of her mind like, oh, we'll
- 20:33Speaker 1: probably meet some people while we're there, she should have
- 20:35Speaker 1: had that as the side quest and made just hey,
- 20:38Speaker 1: I want to do this with you. It could be
- 20:40Speaker 1: us thing together and not a hey, do you want
- 20:43Speaker 1: to go play golf so I can make friends?
- 20:46Speaker 3: Gabe, you actually are thinking like a woman.
- 20:48Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 20:49Speaker 3: You're thinking like a woman, and I think that's the move. Alana.
- 20:52Speaker 3: If you could just go back in time, Angie, are
- 21:00Speaker 3: you the bomb? Uh? No? I always say I'm not
- 21:05Speaker 3: a regular mom.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I'm a cool mom, but I think I'm just a
- 21:08Speaker 2: bad mom.
- 21:10Speaker 1: You're not the only mother who's forgotten to do something.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'm sure someone who is a mom listening will go, oh, yep,
- 21:17Speaker 1: been there.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Okay, well let's hope because that'll make me feel better.
- 21:20Speaker 2: So yesterday I was on the walking pad downstairs trying
- 21:25Speaker 2: to get my steps in and I checked my email
- 21:27Speaker 2: on my phone and I saw an email from Aiden's school.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Aiden is my fifteen year old, and it.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Said your son has detention four hours of detention that
- 21:39Speaker 2: need to be completed and there's only twenty six days
- 21:42Speaker 2: left in the SKO.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Yeah, that's like a week's worth of detention. That's what
- 21:45Speaker 4: he would have been hanging out with me.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Uh oh, you were a detention kid.
- 21:49Speaker 4: No, not really. I got a couple but nothing crazy.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Okay, well that is you.
- 21:56Speaker 2: That is very strange for Aiden to have a He's
- 22:00Speaker 2: a really great kid.
- 22:01Speaker 3: He's got a four point oh GBA. In the very beginning.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Of the school year, he had like two tarties and
- 22:07Speaker 2: so he's never been tardy ever again.
- 22:09Speaker 3: So I thought, what is this kid doing at school
- 22:12Speaker 3: that I don't know about that has landed him in detention?
- 22:15Speaker 2: So because I was downstairs and he was upstairs, and
- 22:18Speaker 2: God forbid, I get off the walking pad and climb stairs.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I texted him and I said, why do you have detention?
- 22:24Speaker 2: And he replied, I have detention?
- 22:27Speaker 3: Why?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Bro?
- 22:28Speaker 3: You tell me?
- 22:29Speaker 6: Oh?
- 22:30Speaker 3: I go upstairs and I ask him what is it?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Why would you have detention?
- 22:33Speaker 2: And he said, I mean maybe my spam, maybe my
- 22:37Speaker 2: foods class. But I'm never late, and that's what I
- 22:40Speaker 2: would get a detention for it.
- 22:42Speaker 4: I'm starting a food fight or something.
- 22:43Speaker 2: So I said, so, if it's not that you're late,
- 22:46Speaker 2: if you're always early, why did you automatically think it
- 22:50Speaker 2: was your foods class? What are you doing there right
- 22:53Speaker 2: that would get you in trouble? And he said, no, seriously,
- 22:55Speaker 2: I don't know. That's just the first class that came
- 22:57Speaker 2: to my I don't know. So I'm kind of annoying.
- 23:00Speaker 2: But because I don't know exactly why, I'm not going
- 23:04Speaker 2: to jump down his throat. So I asked him to
- 23:05Speaker 2: email his teacher. I'm not going to do it like
- 23:07Speaker 2: you're fifteen. You email your teachers, find out why you
- 23:11Speaker 2: have this detention.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Buruh.
- 23:15Speaker 2: As it turns out, when Aidan's cousin, Colin was in
- 23:19Speaker 2: town for his birthday, they didn't leave until Monday night,
- 23:25Speaker 2: so I let Aiden skip school on Monday so he
- 23:29Speaker 2: could spend birthday time with his cousin. And your girl
- 23:33Speaker 2: did not call the school to let the school know,
- 23:37Speaker 2: and so he missed an entire day.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Of school, and four teachers reported.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Him going yes, and it was my fault. I didn't
- 23:46Speaker 2: call to clear it. And now that I know that information,
- 23:51Speaker 2: I feel really bad and I want to, I don't know,
- 23:53Speaker 2: take Aiden to go have a treat or something. I
- 23:56Speaker 2: feel bad that I ever suspected that he did anything
- 23:59Speaker 2: worthy of a detention.
- 24:01Speaker 4: It was my fault, which is not shocking at all.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Actually, it's not shocking at all that it's my fault
- 24:07Speaker 2: that he got in trouble.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, that's definitely true, Angie.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Mother's Day is coming up May tenth, right, Oh yes, yeah,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but don't be surprised if you get a lump of
- 24:16Speaker 1: coal in your Mother's day stocking.
- 24:18Speaker 6: This.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I need.
- 24:22Speaker 6: Some good starting off the day with something good. This
- 24:27Speaker 6: is Gabe's good News on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 24:32Speaker 4: In a world, in a world like the movies, in
- 24:36Speaker 4: a world.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Where small businesses they come and go, there's one right
- 24:39Speaker 1: here in Fargo that's doing something pretty incredible. Turning one
- 24:43Speaker 1: hundred years old, Margolinoleum is celebrating a full century in
- 24:49Speaker 1: business and it's still family run. Rob and Jana Bye.
- 24:54Speaker 1: They took it over back in nineteen ninety nine. Before
- 24:56Speaker 1: handing over the keys, Rob's dad gave them a piece
- 24:59Speaker 1: of a and he said, don't sacrifice your marriage for
- 25:02Speaker 1: this business. Well, that mission's been accomplished. Twenty seven years later,
- 25:07Speaker 1: they're still happily married and the business is still thriving.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Rob brings the creativity and big picture ideas and Janna
- 25:14Speaker 1: runs the operation and keeps everything on track, and together
- 25:17Speaker 1: they built something pretty rock solid. In fact, the company
- 25:20Speaker 1: hasn't had to lay off a single employee since the
- 25:23Speaker 1: nineteen fifties. What one hundred years A strong marriage and
- 25:28Speaker 1: a business built on quality and care, that's something we're
- 25:31Speaker 1: celebrating for sure. One hundred years for any business is
- 25:35Speaker 1: nothing short of a miracle in twenty twenty six, So
- 25:39Speaker 1: congratulations to them. Obviously they're family. It sounds like this
- 25:42Speaker 1: kind of been passed down way to go. I mean,
- 25:44Speaker 1: it's incredible a business that is now what is it centenarian?
- 25:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it's insane.
- 25:50Speaker 3: And no marriage is failed in the process.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Right, Probably more importantly, My favorite quote, broken crayons, they
- 25:57Speaker 1: still color. And the world is full of nice people.
- 25:59Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
