- 0:16SPEAKER_04: I'm Alex.
- 0:17SPEAKER_04: And John's here, but he can't talk about it.
- 0:20SPEAKER_05: Apparently, John's not allowed to talk, and I'm Cody.
- 0:23SPEAKER_04: Um I can't remember what this episode was.
- 0:28SPEAKER_05: Quick relevant news for our sports people.
- 0:32SPEAKER_05: Unfortunately, the great Mike Ditka passed away today.
- 0:37SPEAKER_05: Duh Bears.
- 0:38SPEAKER_05: Chicago Bears legend.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Duh Bears.
- 0:42SPEAKER_05: Duh Bears.
- 0:43SPEAKER_05: R.I.P.
- 0:43SPEAKER_04: Mike Ditka.
- 0:45SPEAKER_04: I do know that they are making it Sunday like National Ditka Day.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: I didn't seen that yet.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Like every Sunday?
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: No, like this Sunday.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: This specific Sunday.
- 0:57SPEAKER_04: Well, I also think it's I also think it's because the Bears are playing the Packers this weekend.
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: If the Packers win, they're they're bad people.
- 1:09SPEAKER_04: Well, technically, the Packers own the Bears.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Fair.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: The Bears.
- 1:15SPEAKER_05: In other sports news, uh, baseball is getting close to wrapping up their season.
- 1:20SPEAKER_05: We're almost to the conference championships.
- 1:23SPEAKER_05: Uh right now, the only one we're waiting on is the to see who comes out between the White Sox and the Guardians.
- 1:29SPEAKER_05: Otherwise, we know we've got Brewers Dodgers coming up, and we're just waiting to see who Tampa Bay is playing.
- 1:35SPEAKER_05: So baseball season's almost done.
- 1:37SPEAKER_05: If you're excited for the World Series, it's coming up.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: I really, and I can't believe I'm about to say this.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: I really hope the Brewers kick some butt.
- 1:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:47SPEAKER_05: Take down the As a Cardinal fan.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: I can't believe I just said that.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: Duh Brewers.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:53SPEAKER_05: Football season.
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: We're about five weeks in as we're recording this.
- 1:56SPEAKER_05: We're in the middle of week five.
- 1:58SPEAKER_05: We've got four teams that have yet to win a game, and we have three teams that have not yet lost a game.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Is one of them duh Bears?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: No, the Bears are.
- 2:07SPEAKER_05: They're two and two?
- 2:09SPEAKER_05: I think they're three and one.
- 2:10SPEAKER_05: Three and one?
- 2:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:11SPEAKER_05: We'll find out Sunday with week five where they wind up.
- 2:15SPEAKER_05: They could end up four and one or three and two.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: We'll find out.
- 2:18SPEAKER_05: Hockey just got started, so you know, if your team's struggling, you got plenty of time to turn around unless you're a blues fan, and then we kind of look like we've always looked the last couple years.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: It's the way I look at watching the game.
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's what we got in sports.
- 2:32SPEAKER_05: Basketball, I think, is starting up soon, but I don't keep up with the NBA, so I don't know what's going on there.
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: But I know it's close.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: I think it's like the first week of November.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: Well, we're about to have all four major sports playing, so Doubles.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Double's doubles.
- 2:49SPEAKER_05: Doubles.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: I'm a Grizzlies fan.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: But they're not in Chicago.
- 2:53SPEAKER_04: No, they're in Memphis.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: I'm a sadist when it comes to basketball, apparently.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: And college football, because I know my college football team.
- 3:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:05SPEAKER_05: That's what we got for relevant news.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: John, did you have well sports wise, John, do you have anything in movie TV stuff?
- 3:11SPEAKER_05: No, he's good.
- 3:12SPEAKER_06: Let's next.
- 3:18SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: Okay, you can introduce what our topic is.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I don't remember.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: You don't remember either.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I do either.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: I remember because it was supposed to be the last episode, and then me and you just decided to tangent that shit up.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, um, oh, it was my idea.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, spoilers.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: So what is a spoiler?
- 3:42SPEAKER_04: Okay, so.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: So it's a fin that you can install on the back of cars, typically on hotness.
- 3:47SPEAKER_03: You want to fight it?
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: I'm trying to be good, dang it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: I guess what are you wanting like what do you mean what is a spoiler?
- 3:56SPEAKER_05: I mean, I think we all know what a spoiler is, but I guess what are you what's your broader meaning on this?
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: But that's interesting that you say like what a spoiler is.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: Because they're throughout um social media, and one of the popular ones is actually from Studio C.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: When it comes to like what is a spoiler, and then somebody brings up like, oh, you're gonna love this episode because of this character, someone identifies as a spoiler.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: So it's like, no, that that's the actual question.
- 4:21SPEAKER_05: What is a spoiler?
- 4:23SPEAKER_05: Okay, so more specific, what constitutes spoiling a TV show or movie, not what is a spoiler?
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: We know a spoiler is either something you put on a car or you telling somebody ahead of time Do you wanna fight too?
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: Do you want to fight?
- 4:38SPEAKER_03: Do you think I'm not eating freaking weak filmies back to back?
- 4:42SPEAKER_05: I got into what you meant.
- 4:43SPEAKER_05: I had to clarify.
- 4:44SPEAKER_05: There's two definitions for what a spoiler is.
- 4:47SPEAKER_04: You wanna freaking do this?
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: Or or it's like a food that you leave in the refrigerator too long and it becomes spoiled.
- 4:55SPEAKER_04: And it's a spoiler.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: The person that did that is a spoiler.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 4:59SPEAKER_05: So you're asking what constitutes spoiling entertainment of any sort, whether it's spoiling a movie, a TV show, whatever it be.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: Sure, man.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Sure, yes.
- 5:13SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: On an entertainment podcast.
- 5:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: What is a spoiler in entertainment?
- 5:23SPEAKER_05: I mean, I guess what got you on that thought?
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: So what got me on that thought is the great and wonderful director, producer, and um whatever.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: I forgot his other title.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Um, Robert Meyer Burnett.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: He's a great guy.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: And never met him.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: He started a Kickstarter.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: I would I would love to meet him.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: He started his Kickstarter for his book.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: He is.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Um look, you know, his book's coming out, it's great.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: Um, true noir, he came out with last year, good stuff.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Anyways, just plug in Robert Meyer Burnett.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: He says that the definition of a say movie spoiler is something that gives away a main plot point of a movie.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: I could probably jive with that, to be honest.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: Except it contradicts what he said wasn't a spoiler earlier.
- 6:16SPEAKER_04: But I think that's what he's getting.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: But then he'll say something that I think so I'll say this.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: By the big spoiler for this episode.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: He said, he said this.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: He said, so after that definition, he said the other day about his opinion of Digger, and he went, I thought it was interesting because Tom Cruise actually isn't playing Digger.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: That's all he said.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Now, me watching the movie, I understand what he's saying, but I'm also like, dude, that is a major spoiler in the movie.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: But because of his own definition that I guess he feels, and I'm not dogging on Robert Meyer Burnett, he's a great guy, look him up.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: But to him, that's not a major uh twist or point in the movie, where to me I'm like, that is actually the major twist and point of the movie.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: So it's like, so that that does make the question of like, what what do you guys think, whether in your own opinion or in the Braun stroke of things, is a spoiler.
- 7:17SPEAKER_05: So it sounds like definition-wise, we would probably agree with them.
- 7:22SPEAKER_05: The 100% issue, it sounds like is the difference on what each person then considers a major plot point, so that to because like in his case, he doesn't think he spoiled it because to him that's not a major plot point, but obviously in your opinion, it is.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: So it's I think that's exactly what it is that I'm trying to say, yes.
- 7:44SPEAKER_05: I guess that gets hard because like it's hard to say what each person then considers the major plot point in whatever they're watching.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: And the other thing I want to put in there too, while you guys think about this, is does timeline matter?
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: Also.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: So, like, say for the movie Independence Day, if no, that's a bad example.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: Say for the movie Um Dream House, right?
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: It's that movie's been out for like 15 years.
- 8:15SPEAKER_04: Cody, have you seen Dream House?
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: I think you know the answer.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: I want to spoil it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: As much as I want you to.
- 8:23SPEAKER_05: I assume your point is it's more how long it's been out.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Or like the others.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: If I were to be like, oh yeah, and the others, uh Nicole Kidman, X, Y, and Z, someone would be like, that's a spoiler, but then the argument's like, that movie's been out for 20 years.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: If you were gonna watch it, you would have watched it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: So So these are the points of like what with my question then, what is a spoiler?
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: I think first you have to take into account the does the person you're talking to intend to watch it?
- 8:52SPEAKER_05: Maybe, you know, they just found out about the movie two weeks ago and they haven't had a chance to watch it.
- 8:59SPEAKER_05: Even if it is an old one, they just didn't know it existed.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 9:02SPEAKER_05: In that context, if you know they're planning to watch it, then I mean obviously maybe don't give away major plot points.
- 9:10SPEAKER_05: If it's plenty of times I'll be talking to Alex about something, and it might be new, it a lot of times it's something marvel, because I'm like, I he'll be talking about and I'm like, okay, how did we get to this?
- 9:20SPEAKER_05: And he's like, Well, do you care if I spoil it?
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: And my answer is no, I don't plan on watching this.
- 9:25SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 9:25SPEAKER_05: So if they don't plan on it, clearly spoil the way because to them that's the only way they're gonna get any context.
- 9:32SPEAKER_05: So I think if you're going for how long it's been out, it just it depends on if they plan on watching it or not.
- 9:38SPEAKER_05: Or if it's just like they never thought about it and they go, eh, well, if you spoil it, oh well, if not, then I might watch it.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: So I don't know if I'm actually playing devil's advocate here or if I'm no, I'm I'm not.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: It's gonna sound like I am, I'm I'm not, but like say someone in like our situation, yep, or somebody like who's a connoisseur like Robert Meyer Burnett, where we're we're on platforms.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're on media.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: We don't have the luxury to like like okay, I could now, okay, like we know Justin, like we always joke around that like Justin's like our only fan.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I could text Justin during an episode and be like, would you care if I spoil this during this episode?
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: It's cool that I have that luxury for Justin.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: I don't have that luxury for our other listeners, and Robert Meyer Burnett doesn't have it for his followers as well.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: So what about that realm?
- 10:31SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 10:32SPEAKER_05: I think in that realm, you at that point, now if we're going how old it is, then I think you have a valid point.
- 10:40SPEAKER_05: If it's 15, 20, whatever time you want to set on it years old, I do think at that point spoilers are fine.
- 10:47SPEAKER_05: You're on a platform, if people are listening to you, you're gonna assume they're kind of into the same general stuff.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: That's fair.
- 10:55SPEAKER_05: So if they haven't seen it, it's like, I'm sorry it's 20 years old, you're listening to a movie podcast, watch it.
- 11:03SPEAKER_05: But if it's obviously something brand new like Digger, I think at that point you have to kind of just keep that stuff to yourself because it's brand new.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: If they didn't get a chance to go opening weekend, yeah, you have to let them get that chance.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: So that's another thing, because so because John Campia had mentioned once that like he's like, I don't say spoilers on the opening weekend, but after that he he thinks for movies excuse me, for for movies, give it like a week or two because if you were actually gonna watch it, you would have watched it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_04: So you think that's too fast?
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's bull crap.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: I would agree on that's moving too quick because people are just busy.
- 11:42SPEAKER_05: If I can't get to a movie for three weeks, why should I hear a spoiler?
- 11:47SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: See, and that's my point on that too.
- 11:49SPEAKER_05: I get things like in-game where like everybody's gonna be posting about it.
- 11:55SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna see something.
- 11:57SPEAKER_05: That's unavoidable.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: But what about like I have a caveat to what the timeline is.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: So I agree with like 99% of what Cody said.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: There's 1% that I don't.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: What's up?
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: And if the ending has a pivotal twist on it, a secret reveal, then I won't reveal it.
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: Because that to me is almost if it's like old.
- 12:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, even if it's old.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Because that's that's like almost like a whole pivotal point of the movie.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Like like the original Planet of the Apes.
- 12:32SPEAKER_04: That or the others, I would also not.
- 12:35SPEAKER_04: Because that's a pivotal point.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: I would yeah.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: Or uh I'm trying to think of another one.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: Dreamhouse.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: Dream House, 90% of M.
- 12:43SPEAKER_04: Night Shyamalan movies.
- 12:45SPEAKER_05: I think that's probably fair.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Except for Lady in the Water, you could spoil that one.
- 12:49SPEAKER_05: This movie's so bad.
- 12:50SPEAKER_05: I think your point's fair.
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: At that point, I would say, like, even if it's old, maybe don't spoil the biggest surprise of it, because that's a huge thing, but like if it's some other stuff just throughout it.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's why I said like 99%, because those movies only make up an X amount.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: So I I I have an example here, and I'm gonna spoil both the big the big thing and the secondary big thing.
- 13:16SPEAKER_05: Okay, and I don't know what thing.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: The village.
- 13:19SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 13:20SPEAKER_05: I think you've seen that.
- 13:21SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: It was either you or your brother.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: Sometimes it's like the village.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: And that chamalon, the village.
- 13:31SPEAKER_04: Monsters and blind girl.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: I don't remember.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: I can't.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Sometimes it sucks that you and your brother are twins because I could have sworn I'd do things with you, but then it's like I you I did that with your brother.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: We talked about it on the podcast already.
- 13:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: So the so the village, the plot twist is that the monsters aren't real.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: The big plot twist is it takes place in modern day.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: It doesn't take place in the 1800s.
- 14:01SPEAKER_04: It's because like everyone's experienced like a traumatic event in the city.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so they just hold all their money together and bought like a hundred acres and hit out the city.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: And it's like blocked out, and they make it so that planes don't fly over them and they live colonially.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: But then you find out at the very, very end that like, oh, it's actually modern day.
- 14:20SPEAKER_05: Okay, so I guess what is the point you're making with it?
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: So which one of those things is the so would you say that the modern day thing is the thing you don't spoil?
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: But like the monster thing is like like what do you s what's what's okay to spoil in that thing?
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: It's like if I'm talking about that movie and I'm like, dude, it's crazy if the monsters weren't real.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: It's I have a better what the flip I have a better example.
- 14:44SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: What about Saw?
- 14:46SPEAKER_05: So like which Saw the very first one.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: The very first one.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 14:52SPEAKER_04: Saw, like, do you spoil that?
- 14:56SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, he cuts his foot off and gets out of there and just gonna get away.
- 14:59SPEAKER_04: Well, no, because that's in the trailer.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: That's well, hold on, or do you say the other thing?
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: So I think I think because you see him cut his leg in the trailer, I think it's okay to be like, yeah, he gets out.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: That's because like it's in the trailer.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Him getting out isn't in the trailer.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: Him sawing his leg is in the trailer.
- 15:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:21SPEAKER_05: But you kind of have an idea it might happen already because of the trailer.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: But the other part is not.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: That's I mean that's the part.
- 15:30SPEAKER_05: I guess to me at this point, if you're already saying the other part and not saying it, it kind of tells you which part you would and wouldn't say.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: I think that's a good rule of thumb.
- 15:40SPEAKER_05: I think the village gets into a weird spot because it almost sounds like they're both kind of big twists.
- 15:46SPEAKER_05: The problem is that's every M night movie, so it's like you kind of just can't talk about the end of his movies in general.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: So you think it's by artist?
- 15:56SPEAKER_05: Possibly.
- 15:57SPEAKER_05: I don't know if For him specifically.
- 15:58SPEAKER_05: For him specifically, yeah.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: I don't know about Stephen King.
- 16:01SPEAKER_05: Does he have as many twists as the question is the yeah.
- 16:06SPEAKER_05: Also, Stephen King's got the books too, so Okay, but I don't know if spoiling the movie really does anything.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess my question at that is is like what twist in Stephen King's That um in It Part One they didn't kill the alien or the shapeshifter.
- 16:24SPEAKER_05: But don't you kind of know that because there's an It Part 2?
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like Yeah, but like you don't know how it part one ends, but if someone to be like, it's crazy how they didn't actually kill it.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: It's like To be fair, they kind of set it up though, as like a dark entity that's like super hard to kill.
- 16:40SPEAKER_04: So it's like already like laid the groundwork that like this may have not worked.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: But then that's but that's where this discussion is.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: It's like someone could still consider that a spoiler.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: It's like, well, you know there's a part two, it's like, yeah, but I don't know why there's a part two.
- 16:53SPEAKER_05: You're not wrong, but I guess I guess maybe it's hard for me on that one because the leaps of his judgment, I guess, then is for sure, don't spoil the very end of something, because it could give away a lot.
- 17:09SPEAKER_05: If there's some other plot points in the middle of it that could spoil things, obviously it sounds like we've kind of agreed.
- 17:15SPEAKER_05: If it's old and like you're like on something like this where we're just kind of talking and people listen, I d if it's old enough at a certain point, it's like you're j we're just gonna there's if you avoid the ending, it's like if there's stuff in the middle, who cares at this point?
- 17:33SPEAKER_02: So, what about TV shows?
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Because John Campia has this rule for TV shows.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Again, I'm not calling him out, he's a great guy.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Love him.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: I am on the top 0.5% of his listeners.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Fun fact.
- 17:43SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: Um I'm still waiting for a Twitter post about Cody.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: So his thing for TV shows is like he's like, he gives people one day before spoiling a show because it's been on for 12 to 24 hours.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: It it's not like the movie where you have to like go get a babysitter, set money aside, go to the theater, however far it is from you and everything.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: He's like, it's in your home, it dropped at 6 o'clock in the morning.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: You could have watched it before work or you could have watched it after work, and then you're talking specifically streaming only shows then.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: No, because normal normal shows, like said, like because if I'm watching Survivor, it well, if you're on certain platforms, it doesn't get posted until 24 hours later.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: If I'm on the CW watching Abbott Elementary, it's like, okay, you had 24 hours to watch that.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: But that's the thing.
- 18:38SPEAKER_05: If you don't pay for the premium airs live.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 18:42SPEAKER_02: He's the one that made this role.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: I'm just asking about it.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 18:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it sounds that's what I'm saying.
- 18:46SPEAKER_05: It has to be like streaming only because if it's I'm watching something on basic TV.
- 18:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 18:52SPEAKER_05: It's on when it's on.
- 18:54SPEAKER_05: It's not gonna be on again.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: But you but not with new episodes.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: It's like, hey, catch new episodes at this time on the CW.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: It's like, okay, you know when that new on this day, this time, yeah.
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: But here's my counter argument, though.
- 19:07SPEAKER_04: If you're on Hulu, you miss that time.
- 19:10SPEAKER_04: It doesn't post until 24 hours after that if you don't pay for the premium subscription.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: So like if you miss it.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: I don't know what the rules are here.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: That's why I'm asking.
- 19:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's why my argument against that.
- 19:22SPEAKER_05: Say you know you've got, say, for instance, you know Monday night Raw's every Monday at 7.
- 19:28SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 19:28SPEAKER_05: Your kid at soccer every Monday at 7.
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: Sucks to be me.
- 19:33SPEAKER_05: So is it okay that he spoils it because you missed it?
- 19:36SPEAKER_03: But okay, so that actually.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: So but that's the thing anything.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Because people are busy.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: What is people's responsibility when it comes to spoilers?
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Because here's the thing.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Like, like, so take take Doomsday, for instance.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: Uh-huh.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: I know Doomsday is going to release earlier in the week in England than it is going to in America, okay?
- 19:59SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: That whole week, until I watch the movie, I know it's my responsibility to avoid spoilers.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: And usually, like, I did this for Spider-Man, uh-huh.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: The whole week I was not on social media.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: So I was like, I know that's on me to avoid spoilers.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: I'm just not going to be on social media until I see Spider-Man.
- 20:16SPEAKER_05: Which to an extent I get.
- 20:19SPEAKER_05: But also, like, you know, if you have a dedicated listener group, and hell, I mean, say you're Gile Campia or whatever, and you've got this massive following, do you really expect every single one of them to not listen to avoid spoilers and tank your numbers?
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: So John Campia has said that it's on you, even if that means not listening to him.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: I've gone two weeks without listening to John Campia to avoid spoilers.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: They can't and and then and then I just catch, honestly, I just catch up.
- 20:53SPEAKER_05: I get they can say that, but realistically, you know they they can't have one episode when, like, say Doomsday comes out.
- 21:01SPEAKER_05: The episode they put out about that, they can't have those numbers just absolutely fall off a cliff.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: But but that's the one.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: Because it's gonna affect things.
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: If I don't listen to that episode that day, but then three days later I listen to that episode, and then the other ones I missed, like the numbers come back.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: But not everybody'll go back to old episodes.
- 21:21SPEAKER_05: But that's what I'm talking about with like I'm not going back to the next one.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Where's the responsibility for individuals then when it comes to spoilers, especially on a platform and social media realm that like we live in realm world?
- 21:32SPEAKER_05: I think to an extent, like to an extent, like it's sort of up to you to avoid them.
- 21:38SPEAKER_05: But if you've got a big enough following, I think it's on you to not put it out there because you know people are listening.
- 21:45SPEAKER_04: I can't Or just make a secondary show.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: But then but then you're but then you're sacrifice he actually does that.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: He does do secondary shows, actually, which is really smart.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: But that that's still but then that still risks like talking points then.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: To an extent, I get it, but I don't think you can put it all daily.
- 22:03SPEAKER_05: It just delays the talking points.
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: It doesn't delay it.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: But but by that, but with like a daily So for us, like especially with the name keeping it relevant, we don't have a timeline for talking points.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: Because we keep these subjects relevant.
- 22:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but theoretically they don't either.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: He does because it's a daily show of the latest up-to-date news.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: So if you're three if you're still if you're three days after and we're just like because even during like relevant news, like when I did the music one, I was like, yeah, I was going to talk about this artist, but what I was going to talk about is so not relevant anymore, there's no reason for me to bring up that previous relevance.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: But we're keeping it relevant.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: I get that, but it was so with what that talking point was and what's going on now, it literally wouldn't make sense for me to bring that up.
- 22:53SPEAKER_05: I just don't think you can put all of it on the listeners.
- 22:56SPEAKER_05: There has to be some responsibility on the people putting it out there.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: I agree with that.
- 23:03SPEAKER_04: Tell me about it, because I've been waiting a week now to talk to a certain individual about a TV show, and he's not watching it until Tuesday, and I know he's going to have questions.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: What show?
- 23:13SPEAKER_04: Lanterns.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: I still haven't seen that.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: I need to watch that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: You haven't seen that either?
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Do you want to watch it together?
- 23:18SPEAKER_04: He's not the one I'm talking about.
- 23:22SPEAKER_05: Alex is texting me about it, and most of the time I'm like, I don't know what's going on in the show, so you're just kind of telling me.
- 23:26SPEAKER_05: Oh, do you want to watch it together?
- 23:28SPEAKER_05: I would have to find the time.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: Between the two of us, when are we going to find time to sit down and watch an hour show?
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: Oh no.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: I'm talking like you're at home and I'm at home and we'll text each other when we're starting it.
- 23:40SPEAKER_05: We'll see if we can make it work.
- 23:42SPEAKER_05: Probably not.
- 23:43SPEAKER_05: Me and Justin did.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: There's a reason why I haven't seen it.
- 23:45SPEAKER_05: There's also a reason you and Justin don't watch at the same time now.
- 23:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Also, you and Justin live uh different lives than me and Cody.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: That's not true at all.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: That's actually pretty similar.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: Because Alex has a family and I have a family.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: But Justin does travel where I travel.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: You usually don't travel.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: You're all over mid-Missouri.
- 24:11SPEAKER_05: Usually I'm just in Jeff.
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: That's a urban cowboy.
- 24:15SPEAKER_05: These past two weeks, not the case.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: But anyway, back to spoilers.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Alex, what do you what do you think about all this spoiler talk?
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: Like what are your inputs on like shows or like what the rules not should be because this is a very Yeah, it's super simple.
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: But like what what the rule what a what a what a guideline could be.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: I'll always ask, are you gonna watch it or you're not gonna watch it?
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: And then he'll say, nope, go for it.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: And I'll just we'll start talking about it and explaining things.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: Uh for movies, John Camp well for moo his TV and movie rules, they're kind of asinine to me.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 24:59SPEAKER_04: He again Like the expectation of you like sp especially TV.
- 25:05SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, TV.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: Like both of them to me are asinine.
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: Like that's an unrealistic timeline for most people.
- 25:12SPEAKER_05: The week or two with the movie, I can like I think it's time early, but I can at least see that one more.
- 25:19SPEAKER_05: The TV being like, you have a day from when this comes out before I talk about it, is like if I was busy that day, when did I have time to watch this?
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: I will admit he does, I mean, he did this with lanterns.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: He does have a whole separate um show that's like open spoiler discussion.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: Just do it that way then about yeah, why bring it up on your main show if you already know that's about to be the second show?
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: Because like he'll he'll do he'll do that.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: And again, it's his show.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Like I like I get that, because he's like, because like during uh Acolyte, like that show was trash.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: He stopped doing open spoiler discussions and he just openly talked about it on the show because he's like, I'm not gonna waste my time on an on an hour-long separate show talking about this trashy thing.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Well, see that okay.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: That brings up a different point.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: He's like, I'm gonna spoil it.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: If you don't want to hear it, mute your computer or just skip ahead.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: Well, that brings up another point then.
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: Why is he even covering it if he's if he knows the numbers aren't good on it?
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: He knows nobody's watching it.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: Well, no, no, no, no, no.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: He is he didn't like it.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: It wasn't the fact that numbers are good.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: It's still a talking point because it came out week to week and it was Star Wars, but he was like, I hate this show.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna spend money.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but I I didn't think the numbers were that good on that show.
- 26:35SPEAKER_05: There were I think that gets into a whole separate thing.
- 26:38SPEAKER_05: And I get his thought on it, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should be spoiled for somebody who does like it.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that's like my but again, where are the rules of that on like us on a platform?
- 26:53SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 26:54SPEAKER_04: I'll tell you a warning and give you three seconds, and then Yeah, I mean, at the very least be like spoiler.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he'll always give a warning.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: He'll like if you're watching it live, he'll have the spoiler on the screen, he'll be like mute it till the spoiler symbol goes, or he'll just be like skip ahead if you're listening to it later.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but here's the other thing.
- 27:11SPEAKER_04: Like, our show in 8 leads built different to where we don't really have to worry about the spoiler because like by the time our shows come out, it's been like a a week or two.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: But that's the thing.
- 27:21SPEAKER_04: Are we several at minimum?
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: But even then, say say this episode comes out three weeks from now.
- 27:25SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, and I'm over here like spoiler, Digger doesn't play Digger.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: Okay?
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: Someone could have been like three weeks from now, be like, dude, I was gonna watch Digger.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: Why the fuck did you say that?
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean But we're over here being like, no, it's been three weeks.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: Like it's what I'm three weeks.
- 27:44SPEAKER_04: Well, that's what I'm saying as a content creator now.
- 27:46SPEAKER_04: We give the warning as spoiler, we get it's three to four weeks after it.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: That seems appropriate for a content creator.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, I get what you're saying.
- 27:56SPEAKER_04: Me personally, if I talk to you uh Joe Schmo on the street, you and I are just chatting.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like one, I don't really care about spoilers, but I do.
- 28:07SPEAKER_04: If I do, I'll be like, hey, I'm gonna see that, and you'll be like, cool, never mind, talk to you after.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: Like, like the doomsday stuff that I found out was me initially being like, and this is also where I'm like, it's up to people, because initially I was like, I would love to know about Doomsday, and then I found out a handful of things, and now whenever Doomsday Talk comes up in any of the podcasts I listen to, I either if if that's like the end of the episode, I'm like, okay, I'm just not gonna listen to the rest of the episode, or I'll just I'll just skip past it, knowing that like at that point that's on me to avoid any spoilers.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: I thought I was okay with it, but now I'm like, I'm actually I want to go into this as blind as I can.
- 28:48SPEAKER_05: That's fair.
- 28:49SPEAKER_04: Cool thing is I do that every time.
- 28:53unknown: Shh.
- 28:54SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 28:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, really at the end of the day, I don't know that there is a right answer.
- 29:02SPEAKER_05: You just have to take everything into account and do what you think is the best you can when it comes to spoilers.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Is it like an etiquette thing or like a moral thing?
- 29:11SPEAKER_05: Or like I don't really think it's moral.
- 29:13SPEAKER_05: No, it's definitely not a moral thing.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: There's probably some etiquette, but everybody's about to drop a major spoiler on a major movie.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: Every like F morals, and then just say it, but it's a movie, I think we it's on the list, don't get it.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: It's on the list.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: And it would break a rule that we already established.
- 29:33SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: That's what you were like, it's not a moral thing, so I was about to be like, okay, and then do it.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: In that instance, this one is.
- 29:46SPEAKER_05: I think there is some etiquette to it, but everybody's obviously got their own, so I mean, there'll never be like a consensus on it, unfortunately.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: I think your guys' I think your guys' thing about if you're talking to someone face to face or even like a group chat, like let people know, like, hey, do you want it?
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: But even as content creators, I think I also agree with like even if I have no etiquette or moral behind it, I have my own personal thing.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: I think for me it's still to be like, hey, spoiler ahead, like right now, and then that should be the bare minimum is letting people know that it is coming.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: But that's my issue with that's my only issue with Robert Meyer.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I have two issues with him, but anyways, that's my only issue with Robert Meyer Burnett is that because of his viewpoint of a spoiler, he won't even be like spoiler ahead.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: He's like, Well, it wasn't a spoiler because it didn't give away.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: Well, that's that's when it circles back around to like our definition of plot point.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: Because he would he would be like, oh, the monsters in the village aren't real, and be like, dude, what the heck?
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: He's like, well, that's actually not the big plot point.
- 30:54SPEAKER_04: That's semantics at the time.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: It's like, okay, but no, but like, no, you you just ruin a huge You're right.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: You didn't ruin a hundred percent of the movie, you just ruined eighty percent of the movie.
- 31:03SPEAKER_04: Well, here's the other thing too, though.
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: Like, as consumers of content, shouldn't freak out the way that people freak out over it either.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: You know what?
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: That is that is true, yeah.
- 31:14SPEAKER_04: Like, oh my gosh.
- 31:15SPEAKER_05: If it's good, if you're gonna John in the last episode, if you're gonna hear a spoiler, maybe like don't freak out about it, just be like, man, that sucks.
- 31:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 31:26SPEAKER_05: Like, ah, damn.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: Moving on.
- 31:29SPEAKER_02: What what really made me think about this specific subject, and you guys have actually helped me out a lot about it, was back when the movie Alien uh Covenant came out, right?
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: I uh the one that was after Prometheus.
- 31:42SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 31:42SPEAKER_04: I had to think about it.
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: Um I followed that movie nonstop.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: I was about all the gossip and all the drama and all the behind the scenes and the rumors and everything about it.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: That when I finally was so excited to see this movie in theaters, I already knew the whole movie from beginning to end.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Even the stuff that was supposed to be quote unquote rumors, it was in the movie.
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: And I didn't have I already had my awe factor reading articles, listening to podcasts, and seeing videos on social media.
- 32:16SPEAKER_02: My awe factor was already there.
- 32:18SPEAKER_02: So when I finally saw it on the big screen, I was like, I don't I'm not in awe because I knew this was gonna happen.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: So for me, to myself, I was like, I just spoiled the whole movie for myself because of all the research I did.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Which is why for like for this year alone, Devil Wars Prada 2, I saw one trailer and I was like, I know I'm gonna love this movie.
- 32:41SPEAKER_02: I love the first one, I'm gonna go into it blind.
- 32:44SPEAKER_02: Doomsday.
- 32:45SPEAKER_02: Thought I wanted to know, felt the same way I did about Alien Covenant, was like, I'm gonna do everything in my power to avoid this.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: And then what was another um Spider-Man, Odyssey, Spider-Man, and nothing for the Odyssey, Odyssey.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: Like everyone, yeah, everyone knows.
- 33:02SPEAKER_04: Well, hold on, that brings up another point though.
- 33:04SPEAKER_04: Is it a spoiler?
- 33:05SPEAKER_04: If it's a book, it's been around for like 30, 300 years, 30 to 300 years ago.
- 33:11SPEAKER_02: For the Odyssey, I don't think there's any spoilers for the Odyssey.
- 33:14SPEAKER_05: For the Odyssey, unless there's something you talk about specifically within the movie and how they did something, the actual story I don't think can be spoiled because that's on you.
- 33:26SPEAKER_05: We go through this in school, people.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: That's like that's like me being like Jesus comes back after three days, and people be like, you just freaking spoiled that No, everyone knows that he comes back after three days.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: This is this is the this is what it is.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: Shut up.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 33:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Like that like that Something like that.
- 33:44SPEAKER_05: I don't again, unless it's a specific thing to the movie, I don't really know that you can spoil the story.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: But I'm not but I'm not gonna spoil like Project Hill Mary because I'm like, you guys should have read the book.
- 33:56SPEAKER_05: Which you guys should read the book.
- 33:58SPEAKER_05: That one's fairly new, even book wise, isn't it?
- 34:00SPEAKER_05: Or is it older than I'm thinking?
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: Uh it's probably older than you're thinking, but it's not that old.
- 34:07SPEAKER_05: It's like a couple years old, maybe.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like five or six years, yeah.
- 34:10SPEAKER_05: Okay, yeah.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: But okay, the Martian.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: I never read the book, and the movie's like fifteen years old.
- 34:16SPEAKER_05: So it's like at this point it would be, yeah.
- 34:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: So like on those aspects, like it's like, bro, you had a chance to read the book, which is older than the movie, and you've had 15 years to watch the movie.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: Is if you were to tell me something about The Martian, like, is that on me at this point that I should have done?
- 34:33SPEAKER_05: I think that's where it gets back to like if we're talking face to face and you go, hey, I'm gonna watch this, or hey, I'm gonna read this, that's on me for spoiling it.
- 34:41SPEAKER_05: In this context, I don't think it would be because it's like you've had the time.
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: We can't give you infinite amount of time to read slash watch something.
- 34:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because that's fair, but I you could circle that back around about Doomsday, though.
- 34:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:56SPEAKER_04: That comic's 15 years old.
- 34:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but you know the movie's gonna do different stuff because they don't follow page for page.
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: That's fair.
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying in general, like the general story.
- 35:07SPEAKER_02: Like, I know how it ends because I even though I've never read Doomsday, I've done Secret Wars, so it's like I know what's gonna happen with that.
- 35:15SPEAKER_05: I think sorry, that's the what I should have said.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: I should have Secret Wars.
- 35:19SPEAKER_05: I think the other part of that is not everybody that's into the movies is into the comics.
- 35:26SPEAKER_02: Or the books.
- 35:27SPEAKER_05: Or the books.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: Well, I think I was just going to specifically Marvel case where it's like you can enjoy the cinematic universe and care nothing about the comic books.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Well, like, I've only recently started reading books again because I was n I'm not a book guy.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: I'm like becoming a book guy.
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: So, like, is the likelihood of me seeing the Martian or or reading the Martian higher now than it was, say, like three years ago?
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 35:55SPEAKER_02: But even then it's like, if you were to look at me and be like, hey, I'm gonna spoil the Martian, I'm gonna be like, don't do that.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: If you were to say to me, bro, you've had you really want to watch or read this book and you haven't yet, like either you would have, or you're just not going to.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: I would say that's a hundred percent fair to say to me at this point.
- 36:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 36:14SPEAKER_05: I get that.
- 36:15SPEAKER_05: I think the other thing though is like if I know you're starting to read more, maybe I go, hey, is this one in your upcoming lineup, or is this like I just play into and you don't actually have it on a when you plan to get to it?
- 36:27SPEAKER_05: Because at that point it's like, just because you play into, that might be five years from now.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: And literally, right now, if you were to ask me about that with the Martian, that would be the answer.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm reading more.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it's like on my quote unquote list, but I haven't purchased it or anything like that.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not really on the list.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: It's just on the list of things to do.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: It's on the list to be on the list.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: And at that point, if so, if you were to be like, well, here's a spoiler, it's like, okay, that was on me.
- 36:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 36:51SPEAKER_05: So Yeah, I mean, I think we've kind of covered everything.
- 36:55SPEAKER_05: We're like, there's not a really good answer.
- 36:57SPEAKER_05: If you're face-to-face, obviously that's easy because you ask them first.
- 37:02SPEAKER_05: If you're on a podcast or something, bare minimum, you should be saying, hey, spoiler warning.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: Whether it's like a live thing with John Campia, where he puts it up on screen or just video or voice-wise, you say it, whatever, you should at least give a warning.
- 37:18SPEAKER_05: Otherwise, I don't know that we can try to avoid them, but everybody's gonna have their own opinion on how long you give people for spoilers, and that's never gonna be a consensus.
- 37:28SPEAKER_02: So I am just gonna end on this real quick.
- 37:30SPEAKER_02: It has nothing to do with the subject, but I do want to say um I am a huge fan of John Campia.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: I do think people need to go see his podcast.
- 37:37SPEAKER_02: He's a great guy.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: He's actually in the industry, so he knows a lot.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: I'm not dogging on John Campia at all.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: I just need to barely barely people think when I have opinions I'm dogging on it, like Spider-Man.
- 37:49SPEAKER_02: Not dogging on it.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: I'm not lying.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: Go check out John Campia, he's great, subscribe, all the good stuff.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: Robert Meyer Burnett, same thing.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: Go check out true new are.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: I'm actually going to purchase that, hopefully, like my own Christmas present to myself.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: And uh he's coming out with a book, he just started the Kickstarter about his life in Star Trek.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: Dude, I I might need to look into that Kickstarter because he is a Star Trek guy.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: I am a Star Trek guy, it's good.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: He is an amazing condensor when it comes to the film industry.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: Like, these two guys are great people, check them out.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: You're gonna love them.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: So I just need to let people know that I'm not talking.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: So did we say shut up, Justin, in this episode?
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: I don't think we need to.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: No.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: Hey Justin, stop spoiling things, shut up for no reason.
- 38:35SPEAKER_05: Let us know in the comments what you think, you know, etiquette for you on a spoiler is, what you consider spoilers, all that fun stuff.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: I agree with all that.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: Is the comment, is the quote gonna be a spoiler?
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: No.
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: I had to find one because this one doesn't have that many, but we talked about it a whole lot.
- 38:58SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 39:00SPEAKER_04: Papa! I can't see his color.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: What is that?
- 39:07SPEAKER_02: I know it.
- 39:10SPEAKER_02: We talked about it like all episode.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: The village?
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, the village! The bad color, the bad color.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: No, I'm like, don't spoil it.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: This is a bad color, don't shut up.
- 39:21SPEAKER_02: We just talked about it, okay?
- 39:23SPEAKER_04: He doesn't know that she has to see it.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: No spoilers.
- 39:26SPEAKER_02: Okay, bye!
