- 1:45Speaker 1: New Jersey, where they play.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Is still the Metals called the Metal Lands.
- 1:50Speaker 7: I still call it that, yes, yeah, but is it
- 1:52Speaker 7: technically the middle Lance No.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well I think yeah, the technical area, the area technically arena.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It's East Rutherford is where the stadium is.
- 2:02Speaker 5: He's still stuck at for the Middle.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Of Jersey Jets.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Yeah, why are you stuck at that? And you're right,
- 2:10Speaker 1: I mean, if they called us the Boston Patriots, it'd.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Be wrong, right, you'd be the Foxboro Patriot.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Right. That's why we went with New England. Take the
- 2:18Speaker 1: whole region.
- 2:18Speaker 4: We were.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Billy Sullivan was pouting, that's why we're in the Patriots.
- 2:23Speaker 5: He was mad.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I was just on a zoom call with Pat Sullivan.
- 2:26Speaker 1: What are you?
- 2:26Speaker 4: I was real that random.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I spoke to Pat Sullivan once, like the first year
- 2:31Speaker 5: that I worked with fred We were doing I'm gonna
- 2:34Speaker 5: use the Patriot's been around. We were doing fortieth anniversary story.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I didn't know he runs. That's all TV trucks now
- 2:41Speaker 4: and there. He's like a whole TV. They do game
- 2:45Speaker 4: Thursday football.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They're thriving company.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of cool. Game A shout.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Out job, by the way, shout out to Game Creek.
- 2:56Speaker 1: They're a good company.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, okay, gets the Freddy stamp.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Uh so what do we got? We got Tyreek Hill
- 3:05Speaker 1: calling our offense simple.
- 3:07Speaker 4: But you're mixing up your chatter from Tyreek Hill.
- 3:12Speaker 5: Tyreek Hill actually was incredibly complimentary of Christian He was No,
- 3:17Speaker 5: I know he was.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He was, And I'm not.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Sure you know because you just said that he.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Who called us tomato sauce.
- 3:27Speaker 1: He called us, but in a nice way. He said
- 3:30Speaker 1: what they do, they do really well.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I thought what he said was completely false.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Belichick speak pregame like I don't.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I think he was talking out of his but.
- 3:40Speaker 5: They're really good I think he was trying to be complimentary,
- 3:43Speaker 5: but didn't have anything to compliment. To be honest with you,
- 3:46Speaker 5: here is what it is.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And I think he came up with something to say
- 3:50Speaker 3: that was but it's easy on the quarterback.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but wait a minute, you don't think he came
- 3:55Speaker 1: up with that. That's what his his room was saying.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I don't know, but saying that the Patriots offense is
- 4:01Speaker 3: easy on the quarterback could not be further from the truth.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I know. But my point is, Susgard, it didn't come
- 4:08Speaker 1: up with that out of thin air. That's what he
- 4:10Speaker 1: is being said.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I think they were possibly. I just think that he
- 4:16Speaker 3: was trying. They asked him what do you think of
- 4:18Speaker 3: the Patriots offense. He didn't want to say what Paul
- 4:21Speaker 3: just said and say something completely negative, so he just
- 4:23Speaker 3: started talking out of his butt and he came up
- 4:25Speaker 3: with what he said.
- 4:26Speaker 5: And I think that's the reason why he's saying it's
- 4:28Speaker 5: easy for a quarterback is because all the throws happened
- 4:31Speaker 5: inside of ten yards. So yeah, that's what he's talking about.
- 4:33Speaker 8: This is exact quote. They don't really have a complex offense.
- 4:37Speaker 8: It's pretty simple for the quarterback to get the gap scheme.
- 4:40Speaker 8: Everything is really simple, but they excel at it. What
- 4:43Speaker 8: they try to do is to get other people to
- 4:45Speaker 8: mess up. They just do everything right.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yeah, everything.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So I think he tried to COMPLI that's what I say.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I think he was trying to be complimentary but didn't
- 4:52Speaker 5: really have anything to compliment.
- 4:53Speaker 1: But when he's talk about gap scheme and he didn't
- 4:57Speaker 1: come up with that, that's what he was told by
- 4:59Speaker 1: his defensive coordinator.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Did anybody tell you that what the offenses are when
- 5:04Speaker 5: you break it down.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I'm just telling you that this, the Bill O'Brien offense,
- 5:08Speaker 3: is not easy on the quarterback.
- 5:09Speaker 5: I understand it. I know I totally agree with Evan
- 5:12Speaker 5: on that. And we've heard the quarterbacks talk about they
- 5:14Speaker 5: put a lot on the quarterbacks.
- 5:15Speaker 7: Yeah, but if you're quarterback watching the defense and you
- 5:17Speaker 7: see what throws they make and where they.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Threw, that's why I think you saying that.
- 5:20Speaker 7: If you're the quarterback getting up at the line trying
- 5:22Speaker 7: to figure out what coverage they're in and having to
- 5:24Speaker 7: make all the premium calls and everything.
- 5:26Speaker 5: How many completions did he have in the last game,
- 5:28Speaker 5: and six of them traveled more than ten yards? Like
- 5:30Speaker 5: that's what Sauce Garden is talking about. That's fair, that's
- 5:32Speaker 5: why he's.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Saying it's easy.
- 5:33Speaker 5: But I I can go back countless like Vinny Testaverdi,
- 5:39Speaker 5: Doug Flutie, Brian Hoyer, Like they've had a million backup
- 5:43Speaker 5: quarterbacks that have come through here and talked about how
- 5:46Speaker 5: much they put on the quarterback and how difficult the
- 5:48Speaker 5: system is. So I know that Evan's right, they don't.
- 5:51Speaker 5: It's not an easy system on the quarterback.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, And is that because Tom Brady, you know, had
- 5:58Speaker 1: was so good at it. They just kept adding it,
- 6:00Speaker 1: adding and adding and putting more and more on that position.
- 6:02Speaker 4: That sounds about right, Yeah, it sounds about right.
- 6:04Speaker 7: I mean, I don't know how complicated it was, and
- 6:06Speaker 7: you know the early two thousands when they were first
- 6:08Speaker 7: kind of getting going, but twenty years of building and
- 6:11Speaker 7: you know, evolving the offense into I mean, I think
- 6:14Speaker 7: that's kind of a big thing about like what we
- 6:16Speaker 7: don't really talk about, you know, especially with Bill being
- 6:18Speaker 7: a defensive coaches, just the offensive explosion that has happened
- 6:21Speaker 7: over twenty years and you know that he's been here
- 6:23Speaker 7: through that, So I think that that kind of highlights
- 6:27Speaker 7: the gap so to speak of you know what, what
- 6:29Speaker 7: where maybe he's fallen behind a little bit. Is that
- 6:32Speaker 7: it's also the league, the league in general has just
- 6:33Speaker 7: gone full boar offense, you know, and it's there's not
- 6:36Speaker 7: really a place for defensive coaches anymore. It's this is
- 6:39Speaker 7: not part of the game anymore as it once was.
- 6:41Speaker 7: Maybe when he started.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I killed the room with that one.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So that's that's that's why I figured more things he
- 6:51Speaker 1: was going to tu to Tyreek Hill, what Tyreek Hill
- 6:55Speaker 1: was talking about.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Gonzo got some links and cam Roun and I don't
- 6:58Speaker 4: I mean, I don't care. I kill us to say
- 7:00Speaker 4: about anything.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, just if I just watched the film,
- 7:04Speaker 1: you can see if it's nice dollars, you know. Sticking
- 7:06Speaker 1: with him, I think he had a good game.
- 7:08Speaker 5: No, I definitely.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I think everybody. I mean, I think so everybody had
- 7:12Speaker 4: a good game.
- 7:13Speaker 5: But so does everybody else. You make it sound like
- 7:16Speaker 5: you were arguing with someone some people trying to get
- 7:19Speaker 5: you going. It's because I'm impartial.
- 7:22Speaker 7: One more interesting little tidbit I thought when we were
- 7:24Speaker 7: in the locker room yesterday, Juju spoke again, which I
- 7:27Speaker 7: give Juju credit for speaking like he spoke last week,
- 7:29Speaker 7: he's been in the cross. Here's a lot of times
- 7:31Speaker 7: those guys hide, but he's both this weekend. Last week
- 7:34Speaker 7: kind of you know, gone in there and spoke, but
- 7:36Speaker 7: he sort of spoke of being frustrated about how hard
- 7:39Speaker 7: they work and how you know, it just hasn't paid
- 7:41Speaker 7: off yet.
- 7:41Speaker 4: And I get what he was.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Kind of getting that, but I also couldn't help but think, like,
- 7:45Speaker 7: I really still.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Believe that they pushed these guys.
- 7:48Speaker 7: You know, I don't want to say more than any
- 7:50Speaker 7: other NFL team, but I would say they pushed these
- 7:52Speaker 7: guys as much as any NFL team does. And at
- 7:55Speaker 7: what point when you don't get the results that you're
- 7:57Speaker 7: looking for, do you start to kind of not buying
- 7:59Speaker 7: in anymore?
- 8:00Speaker 1: You know?
- 8:00Speaker 7: And at what point is that frustration going to boil
- 8:03Speaker 7: over and say, you know what, we're all busting our
- 8:05Speaker 7: butts and we're not getting so I'm not I'm not
- 8:07Speaker 7: buying in anymore to this, you know, like that, It
- 8:10Speaker 7: just he's literally said, you know, we're getting frustrated because
- 8:13Speaker 7: we're putting in so much work and we haven't seen.
- 8:14Speaker 4: The results yet.
- 8:15Speaker 7: I hope they see the results this weekend. But you know,
- 8:17Speaker 7: what results are satisfying to him, you know, what results
- 8:19Speaker 7: are going to make them say, hey, all this work
- 8:22Speaker 7: that I'm doing here that you know, maybe I don't know,
- 8:24Speaker 7: maybe it was more, maybe it was less than Kansas
- 8:25Speaker 7: City whatever, but you know, they're all busting their butts,
- 8:28Speaker 7: and if it doesn't translate at some point, when do
- 8:31Speaker 7: they kind of say, you know what, I'm done, I'm
- 8:32Speaker 7: done putting in all this extra work.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Well, and then maybe he's hearing other people say, well,
- 8:37Speaker 1: we just need to work harder, and he's.
- 8:39Speaker 9: Thinking there are people working what other people and that's yeah, no,
- 8:43Speaker 9: and then that's Mac and you know, but it's like
- 8:45Speaker 9: I imagine being one of those players and saying, I
- 8:48Speaker 9: can't work any harder.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I'm here tween hours a day, Like what else do
- 8:53Speaker 4: I have to do to.
- 8:54Speaker 7: You know, all of a sudden we can move the ball,
- 8:56Speaker 7: score points and not shoot ourselves.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I'm hoping that this week, at least for one week,
- 9:00Speaker 1: we get a reprieve, we get a win.
- 9:03Speaker 7: You know, So what about the weather, though, I think
- 9:05Speaker 7: that's just about you know, that's but that's you know,
- 9:07Speaker 7: it's like one of those games where it's.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Gonna kind of just what, all right, it's going to rain?
- 9:12Speaker 4: What like the one it win too? I thought it
- 9:14Speaker 4: was I saw.
- 9:14Speaker 5: This was like I saw like ten miles an hour.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I thought that this was I thought this was like
- 9:19Speaker 3: getting a storm when you're dealing with Zach Wilson, like
- 9:22Speaker 3: give your jets, like any sort of conditions that are going.
- 9:25Speaker 5: To make it Sack Wilson throwing the ball a lot.
- 9:27Speaker 5: If it's it's if it's seventy five and Sonny, Yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 5: it's like I just if it's a storm and it's
- 9:33Speaker 5: going to prevent you from throwing the ball, then that's
- 9:35Speaker 5: different that.
- 9:36Speaker 4: I didn't think it was just a drizzle. I thought
- 9:37Speaker 4: it was a storm.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Cloud it rain likely in the morning, then partly sunny
- 9:41Speaker 1: with a chance of rain in the afternoon, like it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: going to be.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Like opening day, the whole day, opening day, But it
- 9:47Speaker 5: was twenty five twenty.
- 9:47Speaker 1: That's just what my A not always correct.
- 9:50Speaker 5: It's not I'm not blaming you, I'm Blamingolan. Say it
- 9:53Speaker 5: who you want to put this?
- 9:55Speaker 7: Well, I just always think it's funny because it's like
- 9:57Speaker 7: I just think if it is extreme weather, it's it's
- 10:00Speaker 7: the great Leveler and all of a sudden you have
- 10:02Speaker 7: what happened in Buffalo a couple of years, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 7: just but it also is a coin.
- 10:05Speaker 5: But I think those are different kind of games when
- 10:07Speaker 5: the weather impacts it. I don't think just because it's
- 10:10Speaker 5: going to rain in the middle of September, it's going
- 10:12Speaker 5: to be some of his best days in especially on
- 10:16Speaker 5: a turf field where you know you're not dealing with
- 10:18Speaker 5: mud or anything like that. It's not going to slow
- 10:20Speaker 5: the track.
- 10:21Speaker 3: That mud game with Corey Dylon, Oh yeah, it was
- 10:25Speaker 3: mud all over his jersey and he's running for two
- 10:27Speaker 3: hundred yards no socks.
- 10:29Speaker 5: And I were just talking about one of those games
- 10:31Speaker 5: against Baltimore back in four before the stadium went to
- 10:35Speaker 5: turf and it was just a mud bowl. I think
- 10:37Speaker 5: Jarvis Green had like a fumble return at the end
- 10:39Speaker 5: of the game.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Yeah, Kyle Bowler, Kyle Bowler, Yeah, Kyle, Yeah, that makes sense.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I remember pop Water. We lost the kid in a
- 10:46Speaker 1: puddle just he just he never found it again.
- 10:50Speaker 7: Yeah, looking like fell in a puddle, just never came
- 10:56Speaker 7: thought it was a sinkhole.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Us ever keep track of how many times Tomorrow just
- 11:02Speaker 5: puts her hands like over her face and shakes her
- 11:04Speaker 5: head with us.
- 11:05Speaker 4: We had we had a class. When she's just out,
- 11:08Speaker 4: there's a great tomorrow moment.
- 11:09Speaker 7: Yesterday we were talking about like red flags in uh
- 11:13Speaker 7: somebody you're maybe dating, and somebody.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Brought up astrology and then and then some already was like,
- 11:19Speaker 4: well what are you and they're like, oh, I'm a tourist,
- 11:21Speaker 4: and like interesting, like that's tamara, what are you? Yeah?
- 11:26Speaker 4: Oh Gemini interesting?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Or the other one is that explains a lot Gemini chechnically.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Everybody's coming, everybody's coming at me.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Bro It was good.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but I do think if if it is really
- 11:42Speaker 1: bad weather, I think it favors the Jets, don't you
- 11:46Speaker 1: a little bit?
- 11:47Speaker 5: If it's really bad and you can't throw the ball, Yeah, yeah,
- 11:50Speaker 5: the team that doesn't really want to throw it is
- 11:53Speaker 5: probably gonna benefit either team really want to throw it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we we should Zach, it's not you
- 11:59Speaker 1: leave the league pass I don't think that's on purpose.
- 12:02Speaker 5: No, I don't think it is. Either you fall down
- 12:04Speaker 5: two scores every game, You're going to lead the league
- 12:06Speaker 5: in passing games.
- 12:07Speaker 7: Do you think it's a problem, Like I find myself
- 12:10Speaker 7: like kind of getting flustered a little bit that We've
- 12:11Speaker 7: had two games across the league, and everyone's overreacting to
- 12:14Speaker 7: those two games.
- 12:15Speaker 4: And how those two games for every team.
- 12:18Speaker 5: That's the very NFL.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I try to pump the brakes a little bit, but.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Everything's eighteen eighteen sagas. Yeah, right, that's what That's what
- 12:25Speaker 5: makes the NFL so great.
- 12:26Speaker 1: It is it's one game a week. You got a
- 12:28Speaker 1: week between each game and the build up, the post mortem,
- 12:32Speaker 1: the build up to the next game. It's that's what
- 12:35Speaker 1: makes it great.
- 12:36Speaker 5: I think, and everything you said last week is going
- 12:38Speaker 5: to be completely irrelevant this week, and you just change
- 12:41Speaker 5: this team is they can score, Mike, they can score.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Could be the Chicago Bears where things are bad and
- 12:45Speaker 1: then they get worse.
- 12:47Speaker 3: But this team has been the same story. It's just like,
- 12:50Speaker 3: that's why I don't feel like it's overreacting, because it's
- 12:53Speaker 3: we've seen this is the same script for two three
- 12:56Speaker 3: years now.
- 12:57Speaker 4: And I didn't mean that directly. It's like just the page.
- 12:59Speaker 7: It's just every it's like, well, they're seventeenth in the
- 13:01Speaker 7: league right now, and that obviously.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Is like, well, yeah, well, what's the sample size? Like
- 13:05Speaker 4: six plays? Like six plays right now are defining your
- 13:07Speaker 4: whole take.
- 13:08Speaker 5: No, I totally get that, but I also think that
- 13:12Speaker 5: we do it for everybody, and that's I'm with Fred.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I kind of like that.
- 13:16Speaker 5: I think that's why the NFL is king is because
- 13:21Speaker 5: you have these build ups every week to the event,
- 13:26Speaker 5: as opposed to like one sixty two, you know, or
- 13:29Speaker 5: eighty plus and the other two sports. I think the
- 13:32Speaker 5: playoffs are equally compelling, probably in all the sports, but
- 13:36Speaker 5: the NFL just having that one game, you know, when
- 13:40Speaker 5: you move on, lose, you're out, as opposed to the four.
- 13:43Speaker 5: I just think it lent itself to that drama and
- 13:46Speaker 5: I like it. You know, they have the segments on
- 13:48Speaker 5: these national shows and it's overreaction Monday, Yeah, you know,
- 13:51Speaker 5: like they know what they're doing. It's not even like
- 13:53Speaker 5: they you know, they hide.
- 13:54Speaker 3: It, but it's like if you're overreacting. Like a good example,
- 13:58Speaker 3: the Bengals are also oh in two reacting to the
- 14:02Speaker 3: Bengals being oh into and reacting to the Patriots being
- 14:04Speaker 3: oh and to or is not apples to apples, right.
- 14:07Speaker 3: The Bengals have all the talent in the world to
- 14:10Speaker 3: pull out of being oh into even oh and three.
- 14:12Speaker 3: I would say they could win ten straight games and
- 14:14Speaker 3: they'll be right where they they belong at the end
- 14:17Speaker 3: of the season. And that's that's not what's going on here.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Yeah, the one caveat there would be Burrow as long
- 14:23Speaker 5: as he's okay.
- 14:23Speaker 4: It looks like he's dealing with a nice calf gun
- 14:26Speaker 4: on his calf.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Yes, But but you know, one of the segments I
- 14:30Speaker 5: saw earlier this week had the oh and two teams,
- 14:33Speaker 5: and there's a handful of teams like the Patriots that
- 14:35Speaker 5: are in that and they like, you know, oh and
- 14:38Speaker 5: two team that you feel the best about. And it
- 14:40Speaker 5: was like the Chargers, the Bengals. You know, it's the
- 14:43Speaker 5: teams that you don't expect to stay oh into you know,
- 14:46Speaker 5: with the you know, well, we won't be like Arizona. Arizona.
- 14:52Speaker 5: You know, no one was like, you know what, they're
- 14:55Speaker 5: like a player and they could have won the game.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Obviously they blew a big lead, but no one's.
- 14:59Speaker 7: Yeah, but you still back to what your preseason expectations were,
- 15:02Speaker 7: and you know that Cincinnati, maybe San Diego.
- 15:06Speaker 3: This is one of two things that are irking me
- 15:08Speaker 3: right now about about oh God, It's happens too often,
- 15:13Speaker 3: like you're overreacting to a team that is five hundred
- 15:17Speaker 3: for four years, you know, really grinds my keys exactly,
- 15:20Speaker 3: thank you.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Who are we talking about? Just in general, like the Patriots?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, Like you know, you're like settled down,
- 15:29Speaker 3: you're overreacting, am I though, like that We've been in
- 15:32Speaker 3: the same spot for four years, Like this isn't anything new.
- 15:34Speaker 3: The other thing that is really grinding my gears is
- 15:37Speaker 3: that the Patriots are turning the ball over because of
- 15:41Speaker 3: self inflicted wounds. I don't feel that way. I think
- 15:45Speaker 3: their turnovers are because they don't have good enough players
- 15:48Speaker 3: that are forcing the issue. I feel like Mac Jones
- 15:52Speaker 3: throwing an interception to Xavion Howard is because Xavion Howard
- 15:55Speaker 3: is a better cornerback than Devonte Parker is a wide receiver.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I don't think that was a four unforced error.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think I could argue that it was an ill
- 16:04Speaker 1: advised throw.
- 16:06Speaker 5: But I don't think it was unforced.
- 16:08Speaker 1: No, but ill advised is an unforced error.
- 16:10Speaker 3: But ill advised that is because they're trying to make
- 16:14Speaker 3: a play, Like like they got to make some plays
- 16:16Speaker 3: down the field.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The field, but I get that. But like there's I
- 16:22Speaker 1: love not being but there's good decisions and bad decisions.
- 16:26Speaker 3: But teams that are are not good make more bad
- 16:30Speaker 3: decisions than teams that are good because the teams that
- 16:33Speaker 3: are good don't need to press the issue.
- 16:35Speaker 1: And you could also say that teams that aren't good
- 16:38Speaker 1: there's less good decisions to be had.
- 16:40Speaker 5: That's my point.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Okay, But I.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Still say that Max pick six, what's that one?
- 16:45Speaker 5: I don't know?
- 16:48Speaker 1: That was a first down? Right?
- 16:50Speaker 5: The Parker throw?
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah? So like what was he forcing.
- 16:54Speaker 5: To make any sort of scores late in the third quarter?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Point? Yeah, I still say it was ill advised.
- 16:59Speaker 3: But anyway, so Tomorrio Douglass, the situation Tomrio Douglas cutting
- 17:05Speaker 3: back and then trying to run, like seeing the end
- 17:07Speaker 3: zone and his eyes get wide and he thinks he's
- 17:09Speaker 3: gonna house it from forty yards out in the NFL
- 17:12Speaker 3: is not an unforced error to me?
- 17:14Speaker 5: That is, he's not fast enough to do that.
- 17:18Speaker 4: That one I agre.
- 17:19Speaker 1: No, that one, I agree with you?
- 17:20Speaker 3: Or Max picked six? To me in the Eagles game
- 17:25Speaker 3: was a guy that was juiced up for Week one
- 17:28Speaker 3: and rushed a decision. It was a rush decision that
- 17:32Speaker 3: didn't need to be rushed. And I think that all
- 17:35Speaker 3: these types of things are what are what? Teams that
- 17:38Speaker 3: are not don't have ten million big plays available to them,
- 17:42Speaker 3: like a team like the Dolphins. The Dolphins don't necessarily
- 17:45Speaker 3: need to press the issue every single time they have
- 17:48Speaker 3: the ball to try to make a play and try
- 17:50Speaker 3: to push the ball down the field.
- 17:51Speaker 7: So if they had t Higgins Pop Douglas wouldn't have fumbled, if.
- 17:56Speaker 3: They had other players that were not like you're you're
- 18:02Speaker 3: trying to like force the issue. Like we saw this
- 18:05Speaker 3: in Week one with Marcus Jones. Marcus Jones is back
- 18:07Speaker 3: there fielding punts and there's three guys coming down on
- 18:11Speaker 3: him and he's not fair catching the ball because he's
- 18:13Speaker 3: trying to make a play because he knows I'm like
- 18:15Speaker 3: the only game breaker on this team.
- 18:17Speaker 5: So if I get it, I.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Don't know about that. I just think it was just
- 18:20Speaker 1: a bad decision. I don't think. I don't think his
- 18:23Speaker 1: decision in his mind is like this game's on me,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I need to do.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I guarantee you it was, but see guarantee it.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Those are things that you can't prove. And I get
- 18:32Speaker 5: you a point, Freddy, But from Evan's perspective, what he's
- 18:35Speaker 5: saying is it's a bad decision born out of desperation.
- 18:39Speaker 1: No, I hear you.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Like if he like he did fumble on one of those,
- 18:42Speaker 5: it went out of bounds, yep. Like if that goes
- 18:44Speaker 5: down as a turnover, if that stays in and they
- 18:46Speaker 5: turn it over, everybody's gonna say it's another unforced error.
- 18:49Speaker 1: No, it's not like if if his coaches are saying, hey,
- 18:52Speaker 1: we need a big run back here, you know, I
- 18:55Speaker 1: don't think they're telling him that.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I don't think that it's not about the coaches. I
- 18:58Speaker 3: think it's a mentality about the players. And I think
- 19:00Speaker 3: the same thing happened last year.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I think that's scary. I mean they're already desperate. Press
- 19:06Speaker 4: that's that's.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That's pretty what you're saying.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Yeah, it's I think it's a typical to you semantic argument.
- 19:12Speaker 5: I'm not saying it, and I'm here for it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's not a real thing. You know.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I I agree with you in the Demario Douglas one,
- 19:21Speaker 1: But on the on the Mac Jones one, I think
- 19:24Speaker 1: that was a unforced.
- 19:26Speaker 5: Ere I think the bigger thing about turnovers, you didn't
- 19:29Speaker 5: need to do that, which is kind of you know,
- 19:32Speaker 5: kind of parallel to what you guys are talking about.
- 19:34Speaker 5: And I, like I said, I think you guys are
- 19:36Speaker 5: both right in a certain way about whether or not
- 19:39Speaker 5: they're forced because they're they're pressing, or they're just making
- 19:42Speaker 5: bad decisions. But I look at it as like, so
- 19:46Speaker 5: I think Tua did everything that Mac did on his interception.
- 19:50Speaker 5: He made a bad choice, a bad throw, bad everything,
- 19:55Speaker 5: and they pick it off, Dolphins defense comes out and
- 20:01Speaker 5: stops them three and out. They get the ball back
- 20:04Speaker 5: and the first play touchdown. Like that's what you do
- 20:07Speaker 5: if you're a good team, Like you can make a
- 20:09Speaker 5: mistake and it's not going to derail the whole game.
- 20:12Speaker 5: And I feel like the Patriots have made a handful
- 20:13Speaker 5: of mistakes that have completely put them behind the eight
- 20:16Speaker 5: ball because they can't recover from them. And the to
- 20:19Speaker 5: Mario Douglas fumble is the best example. We talked about
- 20:23Speaker 5: this yesterday and then they ended up going whatever it was,
- 20:26Speaker 5: eighty three yards for a touchdown after recovering a fumble.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, at some point though, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 1: like to Evans's point, if they're owing three, right, then
- 20:36Speaker 1: you can make the point that every mistake they make
- 20:39Speaker 1: now from that is because they're pressing, because they're owing
- 20:42Speaker 1: three and oh my god, you know, like you know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: you can't let them off the hook like that.
- 20:47Speaker 5: I think individually my whole point that's why I think
- 20:50Speaker 5: both of you guys are right.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I don't know if it's necessarily that I think pressing
- 20:53Speaker 3: is maybe like going a little too far. I just
- 20:54Speaker 3: think my my whole point is everybody is like, oh,
- 20:57Speaker 3: just stop turning the ball over and you'll start winning games.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I don't think it's that simple for this team. And
- 21:02Speaker 3: I think that that's like everybody is just chalking up
- 21:05Speaker 3: the first two weeks of the season of well, if
- 21:06Speaker 3: you didn't even the head coach who said it after
- 21:09Speaker 3: the game on Sunday, if you just stop turning the
- 21:11Speaker 3: ball over and you stop shooting yourselves in the foot
- 21:13Speaker 3: and you start this is what this is what it
- 21:15Speaker 3: looks like when you're not a very good team, Like
- 21:17Speaker 3: you turn the ball over, you make penalties, you give
- 21:20Speaker 3: up sacks.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Good turn the ball over too. But the Paull's point
- 21:23Speaker 1: day over.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Not as much as bad teams. No, but every year
- 21:26Speaker 3: when you look at teams that lose the turnover margin
- 21:28Speaker 3: and the teams that are bad are than ones that
- 21:30Speaker 3: lose it by TA in general.
- 21:31Speaker 5: That is that is that is the great, the great
- 21:34Speaker 5: predictor of success. It's the turno.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Right now, the Patriots are minus two, right you know? Yep?
- 21:39Speaker 5: So I also, as we've talked about previously, I think
- 21:42Speaker 5: is a little deceiving because what is actually a turnover
- 21:46Speaker 5: isn't really getting credited as one. I think turning it
- 21:50Speaker 5: over and downs in your own territory is a turnover. Yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 5: like the Eagles did an opening day, but it doesn't
- 21:55Speaker 5: count as one, so that Patriots are still minus two,
- 21:58Speaker 5: you know what I mean? Blockfield goal pages take over
- 22:02Speaker 5: in Miami territory, yep, doesn't count as a turnover.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Sounds like you got a new step bruin, right, Yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 4: it could be the it's the same.
- 22:10Speaker 5: It's the same thing with the defensive points, you know,
- 22:14Speaker 5: and the only points they actually count is when the
- 22:16Speaker 5: guy houses it, whereas if he runs it back to
- 22:19Speaker 5: the two and they go in, no, that's offensive touchdown.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Like that's pretty frustrating. I know the DVOA takes into
- 22:24Speaker 5: consideration stuff.
- 22:26Speaker 7: Someone just some of them are like, you really want
- 22:28Speaker 7: to see what the real points are?
- 22:29Speaker 9: Point four points against doesn't do it shouldn't count for
- 22:33Speaker 9: the offensive iterks me.
- 22:34Speaker 3: That's like when you look up, like who are the
- 22:37Speaker 3: offenses that lead the league in points? Well, those that
- 22:40Speaker 3: points per game counts, defensive touchdowns, counts special team's returns.
- 22:45Speaker 4: And yet it's used for offensive right, Like can we
- 22:47Speaker 4: just have.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Can I just have offensive points? Like raw up offensive point?
- 22:52Speaker 3: Because first in twenty twenty one, for example, the Patriots
- 22:56Speaker 3: were a top ten scoring offense. They wouldn't have been
- 22:59Speaker 3: if you took at all the defensive touchdowns.
- 23:01Speaker 8: That's actually fair because if you look at the cowboys
- 23:03Speaker 8: forty point win, if you subtract their two defensive touchdowns.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Right, No, I think absolutely when you're looking at offensive stats,
- 23:12Speaker 1: you shouldn't include what the defense does, you know, So
- 23:17Speaker 1: that's I don't know why they don't do that.
- 23:19Speaker 5: No, Like I said, there are some much more some
- 23:21Speaker 5: of those metrics. Some of those metrics do take into
- 23:24Speaker 5: account the short fields and the direct points that are scored,
- 23:28Speaker 5: and you know some of those are a little bit
- 23:30Speaker 5: more accurate. Yeah, I mean indicators.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Listen, if you know, if the offense takes over at
- 23:34Speaker 1: the ten and they score, give them the points they
- 23:36Speaker 1: scored the other team had a chance, but a pick
- 23:40Speaker 1: six shouldn't those six points shouldn't go to the offense.
- 23:44Speaker 4: You know, would you have like a minimum drive distance of.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Fun I would have different categories, Yeah, I would. I
- 23:48Speaker 5: would have you know, drives of fifty yards or greater
- 23:51Speaker 5: for points as opposed.
- 23:53Speaker 4: To you know, those could be weighted more.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Yeah, and that's exactly how I would do it if
- 23:57Speaker 5: I was, you know, into that sort of thing. I
- 23:59Speaker 5: don't really care, so I'm not just I could care little,
- 24:02Speaker 5: I know, you know.
- 24:04Speaker 4: A whole segment, you know, like, yeah, this is what
- 24:05Speaker 4: they say the points are, but when we go to
- 24:07Speaker 4: the Parlo index, actually, well.
- 24:10Speaker 5: And I'll give you an example of like right.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Now, the O seven Patriots weren't that good.
- 24:16Speaker 5: They tell you why, But that's that was sixty yard
- 24:20Speaker 5: touchdown bombs. Those are probably count pretty I would say,
- 24:22Speaker 5: you think the seven offense carried the defense.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You can't count any of Randy mossl Rob Gronkowski's touchdowns
- 24:27Speaker 1: because they were just better than everybody.
- 24:31Speaker 3: By dv o A, the O seven Patriots are the
- 24:33Speaker 3: greatest team of all time. Yeah, I mean I didn't
- 24:34Speaker 3: need dv A to tell me that, But like you
- 24:36Speaker 3: know better than the eighty five Bears, better than you know.
- 24:40Speaker 10: Speaking of the Bears, said, do I know what people,
- 24:45Speaker 10: I've seen a lot of people being like it's bad,
- 24:48Speaker 10: like and I but I've never seen anyone actually say
- 24:50Speaker 10: what it what it was.
- 24:51Speaker 1: There's like anybody supposedly Peanut Tillman now works for the FBI, right.
- 24:55Speaker 3: That that that didn't happen. None of that's true. No, no, no,
- 24:59Speaker 3: he doesn't work for the he's not an informant.
- 25:02Speaker 4: He didn't punch the ball out off the field because departed.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Okay, anyway, they raided Wait a minute, they didn't raid
- 25:09Speaker 5: house Hall.
- 25:09Speaker 3: That wasn't They didn't.
- 25:12Speaker 5: They didn't raid his house. That's not true.
- 25:13Speaker 8: Apparently apparently none of that like according to was it Ian.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Yeah, rap sheet said like had like three bullet points
- 25:19Speaker 3: of like the original report Pena. Tillman is not involved
- 25:23Speaker 3: it whatsoever, So that part of it was false. Hallas
- 25:26Speaker 3: Hall was not raided. That part was false. And I
- 25:29Speaker 3: don't I don't know about his house, but like he's
- 25:31Speaker 3: under investigation for something, Okay, but but I don't I
- 25:34Speaker 3: don't think that it's.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Like, well, he tendered his resignation, yes, and there's a
- 25:38Speaker 1: text that got out where he said I royally screwed up.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the Bears handled it internally by tendering
- 25:47Speaker 3: his resignation, and so the league isn't involved with any
- 25:50Speaker 3: sort of investigation either. Those are sort of the three
- 25:53Speaker 3: points that that rap sheet.
- 25:54Speaker 5: Yeah, someone in I think it was Quotney Cronin I
- 25:58Speaker 5: think was the name that I saw yesterday in Chicago
- 26:01Speaker 5: immediately shut down the Hallas Hall part.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 5: The other I don't really buy any of the other
- 26:06Speaker 5: people trying to say what is true. I think that
- 26:09Speaker 5: there's something going on with Alan Williams.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I mean, you just don't resign like that
- 26:14Speaker 1: for no reason.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Like, the only thing that I thought was shot down
- 26:17Speaker 5: yesterday was the Hallis Hall part. And but nobody where
- 26:20Speaker 5: did everyone get that from? Does he not work for
- 26:22Speaker 5: the FBI? He does not. He does not even work
- 26:25Speaker 5: for the FBA, because that was that was definitely making
- 26:29Speaker 5: the round yester that he works for the FBI. No,
- 26:31Speaker 5: he doesn't work for the f Peanut Tillman, they said
- 26:34Speaker 5: that Peanut Tillman was the whistleblower.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and apparently he has nothing to do with
- 26:39Speaker 3: this whatsoever.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Yeah, not buying that that I don't buy that. Well,
- 26:43Speaker 5: that doesn't come out of thin air.
- 26:44Speaker 3: That's what the new reporting is on it at least.
- 26:47Speaker 5: But I'm not really interested in the Peanut Tillman part.
- 26:50Speaker 5: I'm interested in.
- 26:50Speaker 1: What he did.
- 26:51Speaker 4: What he did? Yeah, that's why is nobody writing it.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Well, there was speculation, but what so we can't do that.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I'd rather not.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Okay, I don't even know what the speculation.
- 27:01Speaker 5: I tried to find it yesterday.
- 27:02Speaker 8: Is it Olivia Benson episode?
- 27:05Speaker 4: Oh you asking?
- 27:08Speaker 3: I have no clue what that is?
- 27:09Speaker 5: Mad a little slow in.
- 27:10Speaker 1: The drug order said.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Like one of the seventeen line orders.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but then there is also in Chicago. Is not
- 27:20Speaker 1: the best producer in the Justin Fields had to backtrack
- 27:24Speaker 1: on something he said in one of his press conferences.
- 27:27Speaker 1: But the issues he's having and he said it's coaching.
- 27:31Speaker 5: It's close to being over.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And he got back to the locker and called the
- 27:34Speaker 1: media too and say, hey, I didn't want that to
- 27:37Speaker 1: get twisted. I didn't mean that the coaching was bad.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, he meant he's thinking too much about what
- 27:43Speaker 5: he's being coached. Yeah, but terrible, Look is it is
- 27:46Speaker 5: it still terrible?
- 27:47Speaker 4: Is the truth. Last game they won was here. That
- 27:49Speaker 4: was the last in Chicago.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Yeah, they lost twelve in a row.
- 27:51Speaker 9: I believe we have a weather update by the way, Yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 9: come on, okay, now it's I'm on soon.
- 27:58Speaker 5: You're not far off. Good meteor If that's if that
- 28:01Speaker 5: actually happens, then.
- 28:03Speaker 3: According to the National Weather Service, there you go, there
- 28:06Speaker 3: is a tropical cyclone warning.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Okay, so that's different game the East Coast.
- 28:12Speaker 3: That's going to affect Washington, Buffalo, Baltimore, Indie and the
- 28:16Speaker 3: Jets and the Patriots.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Wow.
- 28:18Speaker 5: So a tropical cyclone cycle is that? I've never heard
- 28:21Speaker 5: that Troup cyclone, the bomb cyclone.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I remember that one Bombo genesis, Bombo genesis for the snow.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Try to make a T shirt off that tropical cyclone,
- 28:30Speaker 4: not three And I did a no Bombo Genesis off
- 28:33Speaker 4: t shirt.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Thirty five mile an hour, not the ones.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Thirty five mile hour that passes THELO index. Yes, that impact,
- 28:41Speaker 5: that impacts the way the teams want to playoff. Yes,
- 28:43Speaker 5: it'll be.
- 28:44Speaker 1: That would be just our luck if that happened. Pop
- 28:46Speaker 1: Douglas gets in the open, he's running down the field
- 28:49Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, the cyclone just takes him up,
- 28:51Speaker 1: we never see him again.
- 28:52Speaker 5: So the Pop Douglas thing off to Oz, I was
- 28:55Speaker 5: really glad that Ramandri Stevenson chimed.
- 28:59Speaker 4: In, Oh god, that killed me. That killed me.
- 29:01Speaker 5: That's exactly what I wrote, right, That's exactly what I
- 29:04Speaker 5: wrote Tuesday.
- 29:05Speaker 4: I was I missed a lot of times.
- 29:06Speaker 5: I was like, thank you for Montre Stevens.
- 29:09Speaker 4: He just came out and said it what what what
- 29:11Speaker 4: he said?
- 29:11Speaker 5: Well, I hope he doesn't hope he doesn't have to
- 29:13Speaker 5: miss a bunch of games like I did.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Oh I did see Yeah, yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 4: I thought that was I don't you know, like some
- 29:20Speaker 4: of these things like we talk about him, they happen
- 29:22Speaker 4: and you assume, and but just to hear a player
- 29:24Speaker 4: come out and actually.
- 29:25Speaker 3: What's the word that Fred uses when little things like
- 29:28Speaker 3: this like festers fishers?
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 29:31Speaker 5: Is that what that's that's what you used yesterday?
- 29:33Speaker 4: Right?
- 29:33Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, there's that crazy. I mean, thanks captain. Obviously
- 29:38Speaker 5: the big game, this one. If they lose this game,
- 29:42Speaker 5: I think some of that stuff, but that's I think
- 29:45Speaker 5: you started it with the show Mike about Juju.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, like I do.
- 29:49Speaker 5: Think and like I said, I don't think there was
- 29:51Speaker 5: anything wrong with what Max said about you know, we
- 29:53Speaker 5: have to do Like basically, he's saying, we all think
- 29:57Speaker 5: we're working hard enough, but world too, so it's not
- 30:00Speaker 5: it's not enough. And I can also understand her from
- 30:03Speaker 5: a player's perspective saying, well, I'm doing everything I can
- 30:05Speaker 5: and this guy is like, what do you want to do?
- 30:07Speaker 5: You know, what do you want? And I'm not just
- 30:08Speaker 5: talking about Juju. I'm talking about the rest of the team.
- 30:11Speaker 5: So that kind of stuff can be fracturing if you
- 30:16Speaker 5: don't get some success.
- 30:17Speaker 7: I mean, do you guys ever remember anything in the
- 30:19Speaker 7: twenty years And I know the losses were few and
- 30:21Speaker 7: far between, and certainly losing streaks were even fewer and
- 30:24Speaker 7: far between you, but you ever remember an instance of
- 30:27Speaker 7: Belichick kind of pulling back off the hammer a little
- 30:30Speaker 7: bit and lightening up things, or you know, taking some
- 30:33Speaker 7: proactive steps to say, you know what, we're all so
- 30:36Speaker 7: just like grinding on it right now, we need to
- 30:38Speaker 7: take a step back.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I don't know about that, but like a lot of times,
- 30:41Speaker 1: not just Belichick but also Parcels, when they play bad,
- 30:45Speaker 1: you think, oh, this is going to be a rough
- 30:48Speaker 1: press conference, and that's when he would lighten up, and
- 30:50Speaker 1: then sometimes when they kick butt, he'd come out with
- 30:54Speaker 1: the you know, the reverse psychology.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Definitely would do that, And I would say I don't
- 30:59Speaker 5: know when enough about whether he pulled back on the throttle,
- 31:02Speaker 5: but I do remember there was one year they weren't
- 31:05Speaker 5: playing particularly well. I want to say it was between
- 31:09Speaker 5: it's probably like five oh six, somewhere in that area,
- 31:13Speaker 5: and he was like telling the players, like, when you
- 31:17Speaker 5: make a good play, get up and sell them.
- 31:20Speaker 1: You should be he.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Should be happy when you make a good play.
- 31:22Speaker 4: That was in the nine. Yeah, he was highlighting the
- 31:27Speaker 4: win from eight against Denver and showing, you know, was
- 31:30Speaker 4: it the no, it was, yeah, I was the win.
- 31:32Speaker 7: But that was he was contrasting with that, somebody makes
- 31:34Speaker 7: a play, nobody seems to care, right, And he was.
- 31:37Speaker 5: Telling them, you know, you should be excited, get up
- 31:40Speaker 5: and show some excitement. So let that's kind of like
- 31:43Speaker 5: a lighter kind of bill like you would think that,
- 31:46Speaker 5: you know, old school. He doesn't, you know, just act
- 31:49Speaker 5: like you've done it before, not that kind of nonsense. Yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 5: but he went the other way. And I think Fred's
- 31:55Speaker 5: definitely right about Parcels especially, but Belichick too, just when
- 31:58Speaker 5: you think it's like, oh my god, this is going.
- 32:00Speaker 4: To be awful, and it's yeah, it's not quite as awful.
- 32:04Speaker 1: No, he recognize that it's never great, but it wasn't
- 32:06Speaker 1: quite as bad as you thought it was going to be.
- 32:08Speaker 7: But I think the point I was trying to make
- 32:10Speaker 7: when I brought up the weather initially was just that
- 32:12Speaker 7: the Patriots need to win so bad, and what if
- 32:14Speaker 7: it just happens to unfold like the Bills game did
- 32:16Speaker 7: a couple of years ago, and that's what the Jets do.
- 32:18Speaker 7: The Jets run the ball and they have, you know,
- 32:20Speaker 7: a couple of big plays, and you know, it's just
- 32:22Speaker 7: it's a game that was completely impacted by the weather.
- 32:24Speaker 4: They're owing three though, no excuses, but you're really just
- 32:28Speaker 4: a game you can't really judge, like that Buffalo one
- 32:30Speaker 4: where you know, nobody's throwing that out as an example anymore.
- 32:33Speaker 4: It's just it's a tough spot. It's a tough spot
- 32:35Speaker 4: to be in a must win in Dallas the next one, right,
- 32:38Speaker 4: but to be in a must win game and you
- 32:39Speaker 4: gotta what was it a cyclone?
- 32:42Speaker 5: Tropical tropical cyclone, tropical cyclone, sorry.
- 32:45Speaker 8: Just like a hurricane at that point.
- 32:47Speaker 5: Like tropical cyclone. Well, the difference between those would be
- 32:51Speaker 5: the winds origin. Okay, but what winds have to be.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Over cyclones over the water? But like, what is a
- 32:58Speaker 1: land based cyclone?
- 33:00Speaker 5: What is that tornado?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Why don't they just call it a tornado? I what's
- 33:04Speaker 1: the difference between a cyclone and a tornado?
- 33:07Speaker 4: There's got to be a listener out there, who's a
- 33:09Speaker 4: weather man?
- 33:11Speaker 5: Before I get yelled at, I am totally joking around.
- 33:14Speaker 5: What is a tropical I know nothing.
- 33:16Speaker 7: It's probably gonna be warm, I bet like it'll be
- 33:18Speaker 7: kind of you it would be kind of hot out
- 33:20Speaker 7: maybe because it's tropical.
- 33:22Speaker 3: It's tropical.
- 33:24Speaker 5: What's it going to be like in here? It's not
- 33:25Speaker 5: going to impact my ride home?
- 33:26Speaker 4: Is it?
- 33:27Speaker 1: That would be a good drink though, you know, cyclone
- 33:30Speaker 1: tropical like tropical cyclone like that?
- 33:32Speaker 4: You do some pineapple juice drink pineapple juice, guava juice,
- 33:36Speaker 4: maybe some rum such a.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Va tropical cyclone mixture duface can get an e bowl.
- 33:45Speaker 1: You wouldn't understand, no, I wouldn't.
- 33:47Speaker 6: It sounds like a premium use That tornado is a
- 33:52Speaker 6: single event in a tropical storm consists of several dozens
- 33:55Speaker 6: of connective storm. Say it again, please, Tornado is like
- 33:58Speaker 6: a single event, and a tropical cyclone is comprised of
- 34:02Speaker 6: several to dozens of connective storms.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Oh so it's just cyclones everywhere.
- 34:06Speaker 7: Just it's not like Wizard of Oz where one big
- 34:12Speaker 7: tornado just tears through the It's a twister.
- 34:15Speaker 4: It's a lot of different ones. Exactly, We're not gonna throw.
- 34:19Speaker 4: It's not because of you. It's really not because of you.
- 34:21Speaker 1: It's the weather.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Well, as Bill said earlier in the week, you know
- 34:23Speaker 5: we've won games Will throwing three passes, We've won them
- 34:25Speaker 5: all throwing fifty. He said that.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Oh god, that's like when he references the Super Bowl,
- 34:31Speaker 3: the second one against the Rams, and like somebody asked
- 34:34Speaker 3: him like a couple of years ago about like the
- 34:35Speaker 3: game changing and offense, and well, we won a super
- 34:38Speaker 3: Bowl thirteen to three. Well what about the AFC Championship game?
- 34:40Speaker 4: Bill?
- 34:41Speaker 5: Did you win that one? Someone actually tweeted that out.
- 34:43Speaker 5: I forget who are I'd blame them. It was Chad
- 34:46Speaker 5: Finn about how it was the lowest scoring super Bowl.
- 34:50Speaker 5: I mean, like, so the actual game, that's what you're
- 34:53Speaker 5: gonna like, that wasn't the lowest scoring team that won
- 34:55Speaker 5: a Super Bowl, right like, there was the lowest scoring
- 34:58Speaker 5: super Bowl, like one game. No one says you can't
- 35:01Speaker 5: win a game.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Right like once, Mike you mentioned the like what Belichick
- 35:08Speaker 3: like pulling back or whatever, and it's not necessarily pulling back.
- 35:11Speaker 3: But I was listening to one of Paul's shows the
- 35:12Speaker 3: other day and Ted Johnson was on, and the one
- 35:15Speaker 3: team started oh and two also, and so did the
- 35:17Speaker 3: ninety six team. They both started ohing two and Ted
- 35:20Speaker 3: Johnson mentioned that after the I don't know, Paul probably
- 35:24Speaker 3: remembers who they played in one when they lost the second.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Game, Ted Ted got this wrong, Actually he misremembered it.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Fre Fred will remember it. So he buried the ball.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Yeah, so Bill took off all out there had had
- 35:38Speaker 3: some poor equipment guy probably dig a giant physically did
- 35:41Speaker 3: it and and physically buried the ball and said we're
- 35:45Speaker 3: moving you know, we're moving on.
- 35:47Speaker 5: It's with Jimmy Hoffa.
- 35:49Speaker 4: We go look for it out there somewhere with well
- 35:51Speaker 4: I lost in the construction.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And then Matt Man grows, Dad, that was that was great?
- 35:59Speaker 1: His they was ninety four shut keep shoveling the shovel.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So they had this shovel in the room. Yeah, dig in?
- 36:06Speaker 5: When when do you When are you guys gonna have enough?
- 36:08Speaker 5: When are you gonna fight back? When are you gonna
- 36:10Speaker 5: dig in? And they brought a shovel out and that
- 36:11Speaker 5: was like that seven game winning streak that sent him
- 36:14Speaker 5: to the playoffs in ninety four. They had a shovel
- 36:16Speaker 5: behind the kind of like TJ Sledgehammer.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I love TJ Sledgehammer. Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 1: And then parcels what he would do before a game,
- 36:23Speaker 1: you know, trap games before in the morning, he had
- 36:26Speaker 1: somebody hanging mouse traps all over the locker room.
- 36:29Speaker 5: You're gonna fall for dangerous, You're gonna you're gonna fall
- 36:32Speaker 5: into the trap.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Didn't get hurt.
- 36:34Speaker 5: That has like high level, multi billion dollar business.
- 36:37Speaker 4: And this is what we're trying to like set amount.
- 36:39Speaker 5: So Ted Johnson was funny. I heard the same clip
- 36:41Speaker 5: that that Evan talked about. The only thing is he
- 36:44Speaker 5: did that Bill did that after the fourth game to
- 36:49Speaker 5: drop them to one and three. Yeah, they went on
- 36:51Speaker 5: to Brady came in, they won the game against the Colts,
- 36:54Speaker 5: and then they went out to They went down to
- 36:56Speaker 5: Miami and got absolutely obliterated like they often did down
- 36:59Speaker 5: in Miami, and they came back up and they buried
- 37:02Speaker 5: the ball, like we're just washing our hands.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Of that whole game metaphor and Ted and.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Ted Johnson was funny. He's like, I don't know, He's like,
- 37:09Speaker 5: I didn't really make much sense because but then we
- 37:11Speaker 5: were all like, shows you how dumb we all are.
- 37:13Speaker 5: We're all like, yeah, yeah, all right, new start, Like
- 37:16Speaker 5: here we go.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Word waiting for a football tree to grow?
- 37:19Speaker 1: Uh?
- 37:19Speaker 4: Would that's still work today? Like I was still like, guys.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Oh god, this is hokey, Like what are we doing?
- 37:25Speaker 5: I think if you did it today, someone would be
- 37:26Speaker 5: like recording it and make fun of you on social media.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Remember Shackleton's Adventure, Yeah, yeah, that was another motivational thing.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Watched and watched and watched the documentary about how they
- 37:37Speaker 1: survived this ordeal.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that story. That's a good one page
- 37:42Speaker 4: turn I read. I read the book.
- 37:46Speaker 5: One other correction corrected about the weather does work.
- 37:49Speaker 1: For the FBI. He does work for the FBI.
- 37:51Speaker 5: Now I'm completely all in that they're just covering.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Thank you a shoke for for pointing that out. Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 3: it does work for the FBI, but didn't on this.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I ain't buying that. There's a rat.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Yeah anyway, eight five five past five hundred is the
- 38:10Speaker 1: ACE ticket hotline web radio at pages dot com. We're
- 38:13Speaker 1: gonna do picks a little later at on the halftime
- 38:16Speaker 1: show or the show within his show. What are we
- 38:18Speaker 1: calling it?
- 38:19Speaker 5: Halftime show?
- 38:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I think PU halftime show.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Okay, the PU halftime show. They're gonna be giving away
- 38:23Speaker 1: T shirts. He's gone, Yeah, they're gonna give away.
- 38:27Speaker 5: We did enough of you.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I think we have Evan probably get Paul's food. Yeah,
- 38:31Speaker 4: probably fetching it.
- 38:33Speaker 1: So he's got it. He needs a forklift.
- 38:37Speaker 5: This is what I get for buying them lunch.
- 38:38Speaker 4: We're gonna we're gonna bury your sandwich out.
- 38:41Speaker 5: I get for buying them.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I like that I made to Maryland. All right, let's
- 38:46Speaker 1: get to the phones. We'll go to Patty and Agawa
- 38:49Speaker 1: on what's up Patty? Everyone?
- 38:52Speaker 4: Hey Thursday.
- 38:55Speaker 11: So just a couple of quick questions because I know
- 38:57Speaker 11: you got picked, and let's just stay on a scale
- 39:01Speaker 11: of one to ten. How important does everyone think it
- 39:04Speaker 11: is to not only establish the run but run effectively
- 39:07Speaker 11: this game? And can the offensive line pull it off.
- 39:11Speaker 11: And my second question is for everyone, do you guys
- 39:16Speaker 11: think that Steve Belichick and Jarrott Mayo compared to where
- 39:20Speaker 11: they were when they first started in like twenty nineteen,
- 39:23Speaker 11: Like how much how much growth have you seen from
- 39:26Speaker 11: those two guys's defense of you know, play callers and
- 39:28Speaker 11: game planners. And that's all I got. I'll take it
- 39:30Speaker 11: off there.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Okay, thanks. That's so the first one. I'd say about
- 39:33Speaker 1: a six six, five or a six.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I mean, I think it depends a little bit on
- 39:37Speaker 4: the weather.
- 39:38Speaker 7: I would I would put more importance on not letting
- 39:40Speaker 7: the Jets run than making the and then the Patriots running,
- 39:43Speaker 7: I would agree, Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Okay, I would agree with you.
- 39:45Speaker 1: And then growth of Mayo and Steve Belichick.
- 39:49Speaker 7: That's an interesting one. I'm going to try not to
- 39:53Speaker 7: get off on a tangent here. No, I mean I
- 39:55Speaker 7: think that there have been good things. I mean, I
- 39:57Speaker 7: think they've been kind of throwing everything at the wall
- 39:59Speaker 7: for a few years. I don't really, I mean, I
- 40:01Speaker 7: don't want to say this as a negative that I
- 40:02Speaker 7: haven't seen development. I just think they continue to do
- 40:05Speaker 7: what they do. The problem for me is just that
- 40:07Speaker 7: they can't get over the hump against the good teams
- 40:09Speaker 7: and it's like, oh they're defense. It's so multiple and
- 40:11Speaker 7: they throw so much at you and you never know
- 40:13Speaker 7: exactly well, it doesn't really seem that hard for the
- 40:15Speaker 7: good offenses to decipher it. And you know, I think
- 40:18Speaker 7: I think Steve had a real good game plan. I
- 40:20Speaker 7: thought they did real good job against the Eagles, you know,
- 40:21Speaker 7: as for how they they executed in that game. But
- 40:25Speaker 7: I'm just I'm like everybody, I'm waiting for these game
- 40:27Speaker 7: plans in this you know, amiba defense that has a
- 40:30Speaker 7: game plan defense to you know, be effective against the
- 40:32Speaker 7: good teams finally and close out the good team.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I think in today's NFL they're doing fine, like you know,
- 40:37Speaker 1: in terms of like comparing against other defenses and how
- 40:40Speaker 1: other defenses do against better offense. Better offenses just have
- 40:44Speaker 1: the advantage these days. You know, I think they're doing fine, like,
- 40:48Speaker 1: but like in terms of like you know, what their
- 40:52Speaker 1: growth has been. You know, we know that Steve calls
- 40:55Speaker 1: the plays, but other than that, like I don't know
- 40:58Speaker 1: who does what.
- 40:59Speaker 4: When it comes to the defense, because you judged like in.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Charge of personal groupings, like making sure the right group
- 41:05Speaker 1: gets out. But then I also heard that's Covington, you know,
- 41:10Speaker 1: So like I don't really know, like who's who does
- 41:13Speaker 1: what other than Steve calls the plays. Maybe you know Evan.
- 41:17Speaker 3: I just I'm not trying to like take a shot
- 41:20Speaker 3: at Steven Gerard. But it's all Bill. It's all Bill
- 41:24Speaker 3: for game plan, for game plan.
- 41:27Speaker 5: I think definitely the game plan. I think it's all
- 41:29Speaker 5: I think.
- 41:30Speaker 3: It's all Bill on defense from top to bottom. I
- 41:34Speaker 3: think the game plans are all Bill. I think the
- 41:36Speaker 3: stuff that they put in in the off season that's
- 41:38Speaker 3: new and different disappointing. Why is it disappointing because.
- 41:42Speaker 1: I would hope that at this point Steve and and
- 41:45Speaker 1: Gerard would have more input.
- 41:48Speaker 3: I'm not saying that they don't have input. I and
- 41:50Speaker 3: I do think one one thing I'll I'll say is,
- 41:53Speaker 3: you know, Gerard talked a lot about how much involved
- 41:56Speaker 3: he got into college scouting this offseason compared to other offseasons,
- 42:01Speaker 3: and how he really enjoyed watching the college game. And
- 42:03Speaker 3: I think, you know, some of the things that he
- 42:05Speaker 3: said that he enjoyed was watching how college teams defend
- 42:09Speaker 3: some of these new age elements, you know, RPOs, spread offenses,
- 42:14Speaker 3: you know, air raid concepts, and the Patriots so far
- 42:17Speaker 3: this year have had some different wrinkles that we haven't
- 42:20Speaker 3: necessarily seen against that type of stuff that maybe did
- 42:23Speaker 3: come from some of the college scouting and some of
- 42:26Speaker 3: the things that they looked at over the summer. So
- 42:28Speaker 3: I'll give them credit for that, But I think in general,
- 42:31Speaker 3: the structure of the defense and how they play defense
- 42:34Speaker 3: and want to play defense, and the mentality of the
- 42:36Speaker 3: defense like that, that all comes from the head coach.
- 42:39Speaker 4: I like that stuff.
- 42:39Speaker 7: I was just gonna say, like we brought up that
- 42:42Speaker 7: Bears game that those are the games too that kind
- 42:44Speaker 7: of stick in my crawl a little bit. The games
- 42:45Speaker 7: where you just like, what's going on? I mean in
- 42:47Speaker 7: a blender that's happened a couple of times. Those are
- 42:50Speaker 7: the games that and I mean even with TUA last week,
- 42:52Speaker 7: it's just like there's no surprises, like you know.
- 42:54Speaker 4: What they were going to do. You had all summer
- 42:56Speaker 4: to really figure out.
- 42:57Speaker 7: You knew they were coming up week two too, So
- 42:59Speaker 7: I don't know that those games occasionally where all of
- 43:01Speaker 7: a sudden they look lost are are.
- 43:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 5: I really didn't.
- 43:05Speaker 1: We've always said that no matter what the subject, there's someone.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Where we go, let's go meteorologist.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Uh, this is Matt in southwest Florida. He's a hurricane expert. Nice.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Tropical cyclone is the remnants of a hurricane with winds
- 43:21Speaker 1: not high enough to be a tropical storm or hurricane.
- 43:24Speaker 1: In other words, an average summer day down here and
- 43:27Speaker 1: a major weather event.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I got one.
- 43:30Speaker 1: You're natural depending on location and severity. Worst cases, heavy
- 43:34Speaker 1: rain and sustained winds for a day or two. And
- 43:37Speaker 1: then he gives us a link to track it if
- 43:38Speaker 1: we want.
- 43:39Speaker 5: But if you get heavy rain and sustained winds, it
- 43:41Speaker 5: will have an impact on that.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's mostly the wind.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really going to be a factor. And you
- 43:46Speaker 3: have to kick that fifty yard field goal to make
- 43:48Speaker 3: it six y three?
- 43:50Speaker 5: Right, but who's but who's kicking here?
- 43:53Speaker 1: So we'll take a break. I'm gonna give some t
- 43:56Speaker 1: shirts away in the halftime show and then we'll be

- 45:15Speaker 4: Are you the Janet Jackson the PU halftime show.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Keep I guess so the top staying on.
- 45:20Speaker 3: His nipples.
- 45:24Speaker 14: I've joined by Mike d So and Evan Lazarre. Guys
- 45:28Speaker 14: are gonna start with some trivia.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Do not answer it. Oh, I'll just say if I
- 45:32Speaker 4: know it or not.
- 45:32Speaker 1: There we go.
- 45:33Speaker 14: Question one? Who is who has the longest receiving touchdown
- 45:37Speaker 14: in Patriots?
- 45:38Speaker 15: Oh?
- 45:38Speaker 5: I know that one. Easy, that's easy.
- 45:40Speaker 4: I know that one.
- 45:41Speaker 14: Money number two? Who was the offensive coordinator for the
- 45:44Speaker 14: Patriots in.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Two thousand and three?
- 45:47Speaker 5: Also use your money.
- 45:49Speaker 14: Number three, who was the Patriots owner that had plans
- 45:53Speaker 14: to move the team to Saint Louis? All right, yeah,
- 45:55Speaker 14: the original plans.
- 45:57Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 45:57Speaker 14: Send your answers in the web radio at Patriots dot
- 45:59Speaker 14: com to win an official Patriots Unfiltered T shirt. Guys,
- 46:05Speaker 14: we're gonna continue off last week's conversation. We might keep
- 46:08Speaker 14: doing this regularly throughout the season if I can't find
- 46:10Speaker 14: any other fun topics, because it's just fun to talk rookies.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yep, rookies.
- 46:13Speaker 14: Rookie roundup, not just Patriots players, but rookie performances that
- 46:17Speaker 14: stood out in Week two.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Do as you want to get kicked off. Yeah.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Well, I just like to say that I like this
- 46:22Speaker 7: because you know, Evan and I were at the Combine
- 46:24Speaker 7: and we saw all these guys. Everyone was at the
- 46:26Speaker 7: Shrine Bowl too, watch plenty of the Senior Bowl, So
- 46:30Speaker 7: you know, I think for both of us, we really
- 46:31Speaker 7: enjoy the process. And now it's fun, of course watching
- 46:35Speaker 7: some of the Patriots rookies, but it's also just, you know,
- 46:37Speaker 7: interesting to see some of the guys that you know
- 46:38Speaker 7: you might have liked or didn't like, and how they're
- 46:40Speaker 7: kind of doing in the league. But I just, I know,
- 46:44Speaker 7: I talked about Jon Robinson last week, and I'm gonna
- 46:48Speaker 7: just bring them up again because I just I think
- 46:50Speaker 7: they're building something in Atlanta, and I just he's one
- 46:52Speaker 7: of those players that I feel like is just really
- 46:54Speaker 7: fun to watch and makes you say, hey, this team's
- 46:57Speaker 7: on the TV right now, I'm gonna throw them on.
- 46:59Speaker 7: And it's not just him, you know, it's Kyle Pitts,
- 47:02Speaker 7: it's Drake London. So I just every time I see
- 47:05Speaker 7: Atlanta now never had really a reason to put them on,
- 47:07Speaker 7: but I feel like when b Jon Robinson's on, it's
- 47:09Speaker 7: it's it's it's worth tuning in.
- 47:10Speaker 14: For and to go off that also, I know he's
- 47:12Speaker 14: not rookie. Desmond Ridder didn't look that bad either, like
- 47:15Speaker 14: he was serviceable. Yeah, and he plays all he plays
- 47:18Speaker 14: well with Bijon.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Hey, it's the net neutral quarterback.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Right, I mean as much as they did it by
- 47:23Speaker 3: picking in the top ten like three years in a row.
- 47:26Speaker 3: They got him, Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Bjeon Robinson,
- 47:30Speaker 3: and you make Desmond Ridder look like a serviceable quarterback.
- 47:32Speaker 3: No offense to Desmond.
- 47:34Speaker 14: Yeah, I'm gonna go before I let Evan go off
- 47:37Speaker 14: off the rails here, dude. I had this guy in
- 47:40Speaker 14: our prospect review. Yeah, Marvin Mims junior Mimy, Yeah, he
- 47:46Speaker 14: had from Oklahoma. He had one hundred and fifty all
- 47:49Speaker 14: purpose yards and really he had me. I just want
- 47:53Speaker 14: to make sure the rights that's are kind of crazy.
- 47:55Speaker 7: It was a ninety one point four receiving grade as
- 47:57Speaker 7: far as PFF two receptions for.
- 48:00Speaker 4: I don't know what that tells you.
- 48:01Speaker 14: Nice drop mic along a sixty with a touchdown. I
- 48:06Speaker 14: mean that offense there is like you know, they have
- 48:09Speaker 14: some players in Denver. I think they lost receiver to
- 48:14Speaker 14: ACL I don't know if I'm completely accurate.
- 48:17Speaker 5: Yeah, accord, Uh, Tim Patrick?
- 48:19Speaker 14: Ya Patrick? Yeah, And so he kind of just went
- 48:22Speaker 14: right in there. Automatic deep threat punt returner, can kind
- 48:25Speaker 14: of do everything. So he's the guy who stands out
- 48:28Speaker 14: to me from week two.
- 48:29Speaker 3: That's a good one. Those are two good ones. But
- 48:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna be a Homer and I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 48:33Speaker 3: stay right here in Foxborough, and I'm gonna give some
- 48:36Speaker 3: flowers to Christian Gonzalez, who had a great We're not
- 48:41Speaker 3: gonna do We'll go on to flowers the second Christian Gonzalez, though,
- 48:47Speaker 3: I thought watching the film back, looking at all of
- 48:50Speaker 3: his snaps against Tyreek Hill, it was more than just
- 48:53Speaker 3: the interception. He had a great game against Tyreek Hill.
- 48:56Speaker 3: And I don't think that was the plan necessarily going in,
- 48:59Speaker 3: was for him to take ty Hill when Marcus Jones
- 49:01Speaker 3: was healthy. I think that was probably more the plan.
- 49:04Speaker 3: And yeah, and then Jalen Wattle maybe was the matchup
- 49:07Speaker 3: for Gonzalez, but he ends up moving over to cover
- 49:10Speaker 3: the Cheetah. Four catches for forty yards, right, or five
- 49:13Speaker 3: for forty something like that for Tyreek Hill against Christian
- 49:16Speaker 3: Gonzales and he I thought he was great in man coverage.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I thought he played to his leverage. Well, I thought
- 49:21Speaker 3: he ran all over the field with Tyreek Hill. And
- 49:24Speaker 3: you talk about a guy and the Patriots don't have
- 49:26Speaker 3: a ton of this, So it's so refreshing to see it.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Just a pure athlete at six foot two, like a
- 49:32Speaker 3: freak athlete that can run with Tyreek Hill, can outjump
- 49:37Speaker 3: Tyreek Hill and still have some size to him as well.
- 49:40Speaker 3: That's a rare breed and we all knew going into
- 49:43Speaker 3: the draft, or I should say after the draft that
- 49:45Speaker 3: it was ridiculous that he fell as far as he did.
- 49:49Speaker 3: And the Patriots are just lucky, that's the only word that's.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Smart for taking let me add in that I traded down.
- 49:57Speaker 14: We've had some not great draft history recently, Like how
- 49:59Speaker 14: nice that they have a first round pick that's just
- 50:01Speaker 14: plug him right right in there.
- 50:03Speaker 5: It just is.
- 50:03Speaker 3: And not to like poo pooh after I just saying
- 50:07Speaker 3: their praises for taking Chris chicken Zalez, But it goes
- 50:10Speaker 3: to show that when you have a first round pick
- 50:12Speaker 3: that's a real hit. It's obvious to everybody watching the
- 50:16Speaker 3: games instantly, like that's what a first round pick that
- 50:19Speaker 3: you hit on a great player, looks like like not
- 50:21Speaker 3: some of these other guys that we've tried to talk
- 50:23Speaker 3: ourselves into over the years.
- 50:25Speaker 4: I got another one. I wanted to tap up Jayden
- 50:29Speaker 4: Reid from Luke Packers. A couple of scores, right, a
- 50:32Speaker 4: couple of scores.
- 50:32Speaker 7: He was one of my favorites coming out this year
- 50:34Speaker 7: as a you know, potential pick. I think he went
- 50:36Speaker 7: a lot higher than I kind of thought he would.
- 50:38Speaker 7: But you know, with Christian Watson out and to be honest,
- 50:41Speaker 7: we were in Green Bay, wasn't all that like wow
- 50:44Speaker 7: about him. You know, saw him make a couple of plays,
- 50:45Speaker 7: but you know, nothing like oh God, why couldn't we
- 50:48Speaker 7: have this guy? You know, not necessarily like that. Still,
- 50:51Speaker 7: I mean, I think he's been okay, but I thought
- 50:52Speaker 7: he had a nice week, didn't too much the first week,
- 50:54Speaker 7: but then, as Evan said, bounce back with a couple
- 50:57Speaker 7: of touchdowns there in Green Bay.
- 50:59Speaker 4: So he starts to chip in a little bit.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I got two.
- 51:02Speaker 14: I'm gonna give a shout out to Puka. I'm gonna
- 51:04Speaker 14: let Evan talk in the cor album because he's he's
- 51:06Speaker 14: been balling out. But the guy who stands out to
- 51:08Speaker 14: me before you know, he did the responsible thing and
- 51:11Speaker 14: self diagnosed his concussion. Anthony Richardson was balling out. I
- 51:16Speaker 14: think he's got to sort out how to protect himself
- 51:18Speaker 14: a little bit better. That might just be kind of
- 51:20Speaker 14: rookie like, oh, I'm invincible, because he's obviously bigger than
- 51:22Speaker 14: everybody in college. But that's not how it is in
- 51:24Speaker 14: the league. But he kind of took that game over
- 51:26Speaker 14: and it was going pretty one side and until he
- 51:28Speaker 14: got subbed out for Gardner with Minshew, so I gotta
- 51:31Speaker 14: give a shout out to him. That's gonna be a
- 51:32Speaker 14: fun game in Germany.
- 51:33Speaker 2: By the way.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Yeah, he was great.
- 51:35Speaker 3: Honestly, I've been really surprised, and in a good way
- 51:39Speaker 3: about Anthony Richardson throwing from the pocket and in structure.
- 51:43Speaker 3: I thought he would be a great runner. I thought
- 51:45Speaker 3: that they would have, you know, with with Stiken.
- 51:48Speaker 5: Is that how you say his name?
- 51:49Speaker 3: I always mess that up. I thought that they would
- 51:51Speaker 3: have really good schemes involved with him, you know, like
- 51:54Speaker 3: they did with Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia in terms of
- 51:56Speaker 3: his legs. But I've been really impressed at how good
- 51:58Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson has thrown the football this early in his career,
- 52:02Speaker 3: he looks He looks a lot better in that sense
- 52:04Speaker 3: than I think a lot of people thought he would.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 52:07Speaker 7: Just one other guy too, I wanted to say, maybe
- 52:09Speaker 7: for other reasons, was Rashie Rice, who I kind of
- 52:13Speaker 7: didn't really think was all that great, but you know,
- 52:15Speaker 7: he's he's kind of coming on a little bit in
- 52:17Speaker 7: Kansas City for Patrick Mahomes and probably not all that surprising.
- 52:19Speaker 7: You could stick a receiver that you're not all that
- 52:22Speaker 7: impressed with and with Patrick Mahomes and and suddenly he
- 52:24Speaker 7: looks pretty good. But you know, I just thought he
- 52:27Speaker 7: was real stiff and just you know, seem to have
- 52:28Speaker 7: trouble to shake shaking guys. But it doesn't look like
- 52:31Speaker 7: that is as much of a problem as I thought
- 52:32Speaker 7: it would be for Rashi Rice.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Like our guy.
- 52:34Speaker 5: Pooka, huh yeah, Pooka.
- 52:36Speaker 14: I mean he's the number one fantasy guy through two games,
- 52:39Speaker 14: his twenty five catches for two hundred and sixty six
- 52:42Speaker 14: yards on thirty five tard.
- 52:43Speaker 7: It is just funny, and I'm not trying to like
- 52:44Speaker 7: make a bigger point here about the Patriots, but it
- 52:46Speaker 7: is just funny that there always are some star receivers
- 52:49Speaker 7: that go later in the draft or even in his case, undrafted.
- 52:51Speaker 7: And I don't think it's any way to build a
- 52:53Speaker 7: team just in assuming that you're gonna hit on one
- 52:55Speaker 7: of those guys. And that's happened for the Patriots in
- 52:58Speaker 7: the past, but it does always, you know, just seem
- 53:00Speaker 7: to happen. You put so much time and effort into
- 53:02Speaker 7: these things and in the draft process, and not just
- 53:04Speaker 7: for the amateurs.
- 53:05Speaker 4: I guess we're professionals though, are we professional draft and
- 53:08Speaker 4: we're not really professional draft analysts, you know, I'd say
- 53:12Speaker 4: the professionals are the scouts, But look, the scouts are
- 53:15Speaker 4: wrong too, like you know, as wrong as like we
- 53:17Speaker 4: could be on something doing like our study of it.
- 53:19Speaker 7: The scouts are you know, have probably you know, I
- 53:22Speaker 7: would hope a better hit rate, but it's not like
- 53:24Speaker 7: they're like one hundred for one hundred on those things.
- 53:26Speaker 14: It's crazy because you gotta get lucky sometimes because the rams,
- 53:28Speaker 14: you know, shipped off all those picks and then boom
- 53:30Speaker 14: you got Poop and Nakua and then once Cooper top
- 53:33Speaker 14: gets it, you're all said, good. But guys, I think
- 53:36Speaker 14: we're good for this day. Thank you for joining send
- 53:40Speaker 14: those answers into web radio pageot dot com for an
- 53:42Speaker 14: unfiltered T shirt And let's get back to the show.
- 53:46Speaker 2: And now great moments in history.
- 53:51Speaker 16: People who have that talent are generally really good.
- 53:55Speaker 1: You paid numbers.
- 53:56Speaker 5: I read music?
- 53:57Speaker 4: What I read the sheet music?
- 53:59Speaker 1: So you read music?
- 54:01Speaker 16: Do you think that helps you? Your musical knowledge helps
- 54:03Speaker 16: you with your impressions? Because you clearly have a gift
- 54:06Speaker 16: for that. Is it something how you can pick up
- 54:07Speaker 16: on how everyone's inside?
- 54:09Speaker 4: What are you laughing at over there?
- 54:11Speaker 17: Well?
- 54:11Speaker 5: I thought I did.
- 54:15Speaker 1: I said, do you read music? Yeah? I said, because
- 54:17Speaker 1: I know you paint by number?
- 54:18Speaker 5: I know I caught that.
- 54:19Speaker 4: I ignored him.
- 54:23Speaker 16: Fred, do you read music? Because you're good at impressions too,
- 54:27Speaker 16: So you have that gift.
- 54:28Speaker 1: I could play the harmonica by year there you go? Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 1: and by my mouth. Oh but that's another great moment
- 54:37Speaker 1: from all right back here.
- 54:41Speaker 5: You know, Fred was just a better time when we
- 54:44Speaker 5: were just going to the AFC Championship game every year.
- 54:46Speaker 5: We didn't have any of these real life issues to
- 54:48Speaker 5: worry about.
- 54:49Speaker 1: And we had a butt of all jokes. We did,
- 54:52Speaker 1: only kidding the best wishes to Eric personally. Halftime show,
- 54:58Speaker 1: they gave away some T shirt. They had some trivia.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Who was the longest or who has the longest receiving
- 55:04Speaker 1: touchdown in Patriots history?
- 55:07Speaker 5: I got that.
- 55:07Speaker 4: I know that Wes Welker one.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Uh, Gavin in North Carolina had that. I think that's
- 55:14Speaker 1: a five hundred yard game. Brady Correct, who was the
- 55:20Speaker 1: offensive coordinator for the Patriots in two thousand and three.
- 55:25Speaker 4: The same guy that blew us off at the combine.
- 55:27Speaker 1: True he did, Charleslie Sharlly Wise. Winner is Paul in London,
- 55:32Speaker 1: who claims he has a two thousand and eight Patriots
- 55:35Speaker 1: PFW and Progress T shirt.
- 55:37Speaker 4: Wow, you guys made those?
- 55:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's cool yea. And who was the Patriots
- 55:42Speaker 1: owner who had plans to move the team to Saint
- 55:45Speaker 1: Louis's James James, James Bush or wine. The winner was
- 55:49Speaker 1: Richard Corby. So good. Gave away some tech. Get rid
- 55:53Speaker 1: of that T shirt stock because we need to print
- 55:55Speaker 1: more right hoodies, hoodies. Let's get some hoodies a gray, black,
- 56:02Speaker 1: or white.
- 56:04Speaker 4: I'd have to check the hoodie database for what the
- 56:05Speaker 4: best record. Probably gray, no offense to our fans.
- 56:08Speaker 12: We should get an extra supply of two xls.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Oh sounds like you know something, but guess what seems
- 56:16Speaker 1: like a shot? You want to host the perfect game day?
- 56:18Speaker 1: Why not bring the tailgate home with a stylish dining
- 56:21Speaker 1: set from Bob's Discount Furniture, with expandable options, dining in
- 56:26Speaker 1: counter heights and tons of styles to choose from. You'll
- 56:28Speaker 1: score big when you shop at Bob's, the official furniture
- 56:32Speaker 1: store of the New England Patriots.
- 56:34Speaker 4: So I wish you'd do those, as Dan shaughnessy. I
- 56:36Speaker 4: think it'd be a little bit more, a little bit more.
- 56:38Speaker 1: You got to score big with the Patriots.
- 56:41Speaker 18: Go to Bobs, you know, Bob Craft, Bob, Bob's Discount Furniture,
- 56:45Speaker 18: Bob's Discount Defense, Kevin Maloria, it's the Bubbs. It's the
- 56:53Speaker 18: Bobbs Discount offense for the Patriots, you know.
- 56:57Speaker 4: So it's a little mafia in there, steroids.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's all right back here. Eight five five
- 57:08Speaker 1: Pats five hundred is the a Sticken outline web radio
- 57:11Speaker 1: at pages dot com. Let's go to the phones. We'll
- 57:13Speaker 1: go to Matthew in New Mexico. What's up, Matthew. Matthew
- 57:22Speaker 1: waits for an hour and then he doesn't met you. Yeah,
- 57:24Speaker 1: how about John and Louisiana A Hardy, Hardy and Todd
- 57:30Speaker 1: in North Carolina. Todd, what's up?
- 57:36Speaker 11: I was just curious if there was one thing that
- 57:40Speaker 11: could have been changed elevated, let's the one area could
- 57:44Speaker 11: have been elevated for the past two games.
- 57:46Speaker 15: What would it be?
- 57:47Speaker 19: It would have allowed us to possibly.
- 57:49Speaker 11: Win those games?
- 57:51Speaker 19: And what do you think needs to be elevated going
- 57:54Speaker 19: into this game with the Jets.
- 57:55Speaker 11: That's all I got.
- 57:55Speaker 5: I mean offensive tackle very quick.
- 58:02Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, I realized with that noise is that
- 58:04Speaker 7: like most young kids don't know what that noise is, right,
- 58:07Speaker 7: nobody knows what a busy signal is?
- 58:09Speaker 4: What you do? What did you grow up with a landline? Yeah?
- 58:13Speaker 4: All right? Did you ever did you ever use a
- 58:15Speaker 4: phone that was like rotary though?
- 58:16Speaker 5: No?
- 58:16Speaker 4: All right, there we found the dividing line.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sure, did think about think about now how
- 58:25Speaker 1: tedious that was? You know, I don't even know actually,
- 58:28Speaker 1: when you had somebody with a lot of nines in there,
- 58:31Speaker 1: you know, I don't even know what that's like.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Phone call this person?
- 58:34Speaker 1: You would you know it had all the holes nine,
- 58:37Speaker 1: you'd have to go all the way here and wait
- 58:39Speaker 1: for it to go all the way back where you could.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Yeah, if you asked me, like if you brought one
- 58:43Speaker 3: in and said, like, evan, call somebody.
- 58:45Speaker 5: On this, I'd be like, I don't know what to do.
- 58:48Speaker 5: I can't sorry.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, got answering machines, and then then then it's
- 58:54Speaker 1: more to push button.
- 58:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, answering machines. So those were kind of late,
- 59:00Speaker 4: like not everybody.
- 59:00Speaker 3: Oh, I remember the answering machine because my grandmother used
- 59:03Speaker 3: to leave like twenty minute messages for my mom on
- 59:07Speaker 3: the answering machine and then she would play it when
- 59:08Speaker 3: we get home and just walk around the doing chores
- 59:11Speaker 3: around the house or whatever, and you just hear my
- 59:13Speaker 3: nana in the background.
- 59:14Speaker 5: Just funny. That's really, that's really funny, still talking. Your
- 59:18Speaker 5: mother would just go about her business and listen to.
- 59:20Speaker 3: The YEP and remind you they talked for like an
- 59:23Speaker 3: hour earlier in the day already.
- 59:25Speaker 4: That's I forgot one thing.
- 59:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember, like we got an answering machine, probably
- 59:32Speaker 5: around the time that we got rid of the wall
- 59:34Speaker 5: rotary phone to go to like the TOUCHTNE We got
- 59:37Speaker 5: an answering machine, and then pretty soon after that they
- 59:40Speaker 5: started doing the answering machine within like the you know,
- 59:43Speaker 5: the voicemail within the phone. Yeah, so you didn't have
- 59:45Speaker 5: to do that anymore.
- 59:46Speaker 7: That was like when Star six nine came out and
- 59:48Speaker 7: all of a sudden they had all these little tricks
- 59:49Speaker 7: that you could do, like you could call if you
- 59:51Speaker 7: got to hang up, you could call people back.
- 59:53Speaker 5: Yeah, which is a good thing. They didn't have that
- 59:55Speaker 5: when I were doing some prankin maybe guy, maybe your
- 59:59Speaker 5: refrigerator run because.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Minute. But when they when they first came out with
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: that wasn't always this brash. When they first came out
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: with the Home Answering Machine, there was tapes there, actually
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: tapes the sets that you would.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: You've reached the par I actually had one of those
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: in my first apartment because there's just an old answer machine.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: I didn't want to get all the bells and whistles
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: through at and t right, because I, you know, I'm
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: not a budget much like now right, and I did.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: I had one of those little tapes on the answer
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: I like I do.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: I do genuinely mean, it's like I envy growing up
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: in that time because like once I had started, like
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: by the fifth grade, cell phones were a thing, like
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: we you know, all these things like really started to
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: happen already for me right away, And like I never
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: got to live a life disconnected from a phone or
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: or you know, a computer.
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Or I've never had a memorized numbers like.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Used to like the like get directions.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I would do like the we got directions because like
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: navigations came out, like maybe when I was in middle school,
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: like in car navigations because we didn't.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Have w we were driving. You never had to direction.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Map quest, print map quest.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I've done that, but I remember before that you had
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: to ask the guy at the gas station.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know how.
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: I would never I would.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: I don't know how we got around and those maps.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I don't know how you guys got around either. No,
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: like just thinking about that, like how did you know where?
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: It's a great question.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: I don't know it is. It is funny when I
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: started at the Herald.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: You know, driving in that direction, and then you get
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: close and asked.
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: The late eighties through the nineties, and we all we
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: did was cover you know, we covered a million high
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: school sports. So I didn't know where all these high
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: schools were. But there was a huge file, you know,
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: on the on the computer that you would just you
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: would log in and then you'd say, I'm going to
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: Oliver Eames High School. Search Oliver Raams. It would come
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: up and you print out the directions right to Oliver Raams.
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: That's how you you did it. Yeah, I just like.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: Think about all the time this For some reason, I
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: think about this a lot. How did like how did
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Pete delivery drivers find my house?
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: Like how like we would call.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: What is that book called? There's a book filled with maps.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: I'm forgetting It's like it's not the Thomas It's like
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: it's a Thomas guy.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: There's something.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: But when I was a runner and like we had
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: to have that, Like I'm just.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Like when we used to call in before navigation and
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: before smartphones and used to say, oh, I live at
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: you know, I'm not gonna put my parents address on
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: the air, but like you live at you know whatever
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: and need them and they used to just miraculously find
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: your house. Like that's why there's a delivery zone that
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: you know the area.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Back then the guys that were doing it were from
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the area. They knew, they knew Like.
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: But I think I think I think Evan's right, Like
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: they had to figure out they had to have.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Something there was there was a time where cab drivers
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: were from.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: They just knew where they drive and they knew the roads.
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: You know, good time.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: I think they'll call your thing though, is the fear
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: of having to pick up a phone from a number
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: that you got from a girl and call that number
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: cold call. You don't know if her dad or is
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: who's gonna pick up that? Like nervousness, like really going
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: to Like now you just like you either swipe right,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: you send a message, you send a text message?
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: Can you tell Mike to uh?
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: But that was I mean that's like those are like
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: growing moments that now people don't even have to do
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: because you get a little tech back and forth.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: Numbers like memory, like now you just you meet a
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: girl and you're like, you know, can I get you?
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: You know, you just put it right into your phone?
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: How many you have it?
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: How many numbers memory? How many you if you lost
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: your phone right now? How many numbers would you know
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: off the top.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Of your head?
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: John Cap three eight nine, two six one five, Wade
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: bog Cecil Cooper two six one five. That's how I
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: remembered numbers my all sports guys uniforms. That's how I
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: did it I could give you, I mean, I could
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: give you.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Don't give us your ATM password? All right, my best
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: friend Mark nine five one six.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: Next up? Next up is c J and k C.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: What's up? CJJ?
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Hey up guy, Hey c J.
- 1:04:00Speaker 20: I wanted to ask you for a question about the
- 1:04:03Speaker 20: game coming up this weekend. Is there you know anything
- 1:04:07Speaker 20: that you think we can learn more about what this
- 1:04:09Speaker 20: team's identity is going to be from the game this
- 1:04:11Speaker 20: week or is it just going to be I don't know,
- 1:04:15Speaker 20: just another wash.
- 1:04:17Speaker 21: Up, especially if the defense is up scoring the last Well,
- 1:04:21Speaker 21: you can play better or a good game, I mean,
- 1:04:23Speaker 21: I think so.
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that whatever happens on Sunday to me
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: is not sort of a definitive calling for the rest
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: of the year. But you can play better than you've
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: played and at least show that you're capable of playing
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: sort of clean.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: Football, clean football exactly, you know, I mean.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: I hope, so, you know, would that be your identity?
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: I would say, no, you played three games and you
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: played one clean one, so I don't think that would
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: necessarily establish it as an identity. But you can play
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: better and feel good about it regardless of the opponent.
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: I think you can continue to pull elements out to
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: that are becoming your identity. Like you know, you're not
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: going to have an identity three weeks end of the season.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: But you know, I wrote a little bit about the
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: spike in two tight end numbers, you know, like last
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: year like sixteen percent. They're up over you know, close
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: to forty percent this year, so.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: You know that's increased. So I mean, I think each
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: game you'll learn a little bit, but I hope you can.
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: You know, I don't want to come out of this
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: game being like, yeah, they won, but I mean that's
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: that's the worst exactly.
- 1:05:16Speaker 15: And that was kind of my point, is that I
- 1:05:17Speaker 15: didn't want to.
- 1:05:17Speaker 17: I didn't want to.
- 1:05:18Speaker 20: I wanted to have some hope that we can actually
- 1:05:21Speaker 20: feel good.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: It just depends on the outcome. You never know, you
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: might have to do it, you know. I mean like
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: it was like when they beat the Bills two years
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: ago in the wind storm. It's like, you feel good
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: about the two.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: Jets games last year, Yeah, you'll be happy, Like Fred's right,
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: like you don't care. You just need to win. Yeah,
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: And I get that, and that's bottom line. But if
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: they beat them the way they beat them the two
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: times last year. You're not gonna feel great. Yeah, you're
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: gonna be happy that they won and you're gonna be
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: one and two that's better than O one three, But
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: you're gonna know the other team handed it to you.
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: Yeah, And I still feel though, like you just need
- 1:05:50Speaker 7: to win. And but it's gonna be hard. It's gonna
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: be hard to just be You're gonna be great. They
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: got the win, and you're gonna immediately turn the page
- 1:05:57Speaker 7: into Now this is what they have to fix from
- 1:05:59Speaker 7: that game too.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: You know, it's like you got to get the win
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: and check it off. But I don't think it's like, oh,
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: we feel.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: Great now everything's turned around. I mean, I don't know
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: that's that's the outcome. It's hard to see that everything
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: is now. We're on track. Now it's really gonna happen,
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: you know, unless they like hang a fifty burger on them,
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: which I'm not expecting.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: Even then, I'm not You have to see how it
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: all unfolds.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: Mac bombs away every play.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Thanks a j uh. This femail bothers me. Neil and
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: new Bruns Red not about cyclones. It's not hard, folks.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: It's a tropical storm, which is weaker version of a
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: hurricane hurricane spin. So yeah, okay, So then why do
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: they call them tropical storms instead of cyclones. I've never
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: heard any weatherman up here refer to a tropical storm
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: as a cyclone. Okay, so it must be a little
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: bit different.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: That's like that guy from the Simpsons, you know, the
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: one with the ponytails.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: It's not that hard.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: What's his name? Man?
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I get all right, Let's go to Sean and Orlando.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: What's up Sean?
- 1:06:57Speaker 15: Okay, thank you, I'd like to Okay. Brady on culture,
- 1:07:03Speaker 15: Tom Brady said, this is an interview. Said all this
- 1:07:06Speaker 15: in an interview with the ESPN in twenty twenty two. The
- 1:07:09Speaker 15: coach can have rules, but it's the players who have
- 1:07:12Speaker 15: to expect more than the coaches that creates the culture.
- 1:07:17Speaker 15: If the players expect to be great, then they're going
- 1:07:20Speaker 15: to do the things that it takes to be great.
- 1:07:23Speaker 15: They're going to prepare the right way, they're going to
- 1:07:25Speaker 15: compete the right way. They're going to hold each other accountable.
- 1:07:30Speaker 15: That's what creates the winning culture. So Belichick may have
- 1:07:33Speaker 15: set the tone, but it was Brady who drove a
- 1:07:36Speaker 15: culture that took on his personality that became famous for
- 1:07:41Speaker 15: attention to the detail and to the execution, and mag
- 1:07:45Speaker 15: Jones was Belichick's one chance to regain that culture, rather
- 1:07:50Speaker 15: than cultivate it. He has screwed him at every turn,
- 1:07:53Speaker 15: first with Patricia and this year with the Lion and
- 1:07:57Speaker 15: the receiver problems. And it seems that everybody not named
- 1:08:01Speaker 15: Belichick could see the stupidity of all that. But everybody's
- 1:08:05Speaker 15: overlooking the real problem. Craft has lost his fire. He's
- 1:08:11Speaker 15: tolerated four years of mediocrity. The Patriots used to be
- 1:08:15Speaker 15: known for letting people go a year too early rather
- 1:08:20Speaker 15: than a year too late. They're paying the price for
- 1:08:23Speaker 15: not applying that to the GM. Thanks for taking my call,
- 1:08:26Speaker 15: all right, Sean.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: All right, thanks for the call. In all seriousness, I
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: don't agree with all of it, but that's a strong call.
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I would just I would lump in Willie
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: McGuinness and you know, some of those other guys.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: I think that helped establish the culture.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Like Brady's attention to detail, his drive and practice, you know,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: like practices. He may practices a game in a competitive way.
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: But I don't think drive and commitment are problems for
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: mac Jones. I don't know. I think that, well, he's
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: saying it. Saying it Bill, Well, he's putting people that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: This is one of the ones that I sort of
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: take issue with. Yeah, you know, it's all on the coach.
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: Like I can tell you, there's many rosters that Brady
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: dealt with that were less than this offensive line and
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: less than this group of receivers, and it didn't fall
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: apart like this. Now, they may not have been championship
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: that year, you know, oh six comes to mind. They
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: may have fallen short that year because they let all
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: the receivers go and they didn't have enough to replace it.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: But it didn't look like this. Yeah, you know, so
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: I think part of it is on both ends. And
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: he's right, like this, the Patricia thing ridiculous. Sean's right
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: about that. It was a ridiculous call that we all
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: saw before it happened except me, And I still give
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: you a pass for it, and I don't give you
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: a pass on everything.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: As you know, I'm not gonna I'm gonna be honest.
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: I thought it being a stand up guy, but I
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: don't really think you were all that confident.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: I honestly thought it could work. I was wrong.
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: Well, to your point. I think Bill thought it could
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: work too, and I think Bill would still have it
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: trying to work it.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I jumped ship, you know, three quarters the
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: way through, but I thought it could work.
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: But I just don't think.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: But there is something like the locker room culture is important.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: That's why when Parcels got here, when Belichick got here,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: they brought in their circle the wagon guys, the guys
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: that they know could be their messengers.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: You know, Baby Hamilton.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, all those guys, and they could be
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: the guys that would carry the message of the head
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: coach down to the players. And you know, Belichick was
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: very fortunate because the best player on the team was
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: his messenger.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: That's why when if for the first half of the dynasty,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: those two were simpatico, they were on the same page,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you know, in terms of work and you know, be
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: demanding of the other players. Belichick was very fortunate that
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: he had the best player in his team lockstep with him. Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Think's changed. Things changed later when when Brady said, you
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: know what, I'm.
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: I'm tired of getting treated a little bit more now,
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: you know, I think I've earned it.
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I think and I think Mac he's
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: just missing the results, you know, I think the results
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: were there then his hard work, would you know, ring more,
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: you know. I mean I don't want to speak to
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: because I don't know how players are. But everybody that
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: talks about him, you know, especially the counor Henry recently,
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: is just you know, loves him, loves the kid. It's
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: just he doesn't have that kind of gravitas to him
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: because he hasn't won big game.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: Yet, I know.
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: And I think that's the biggest difference is the track record.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: And I'm not saying that that it's a conscious thing
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: that people like looking at him saying like not listening
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: to him when he first what's he ever done? But
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: I do think you circle the wagon guys now, fred
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: as you you know, you move further and further, you know,
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: away from from the success, and you're starting to see
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: like some of these guys that he sort of Bill
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: is sort of identified in building around. You know, mccordy's gone,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: now Slater's you know, probably if this isn't it, it's close.
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: He's kind of having to buy those guys, you know,
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: like let's let's give a little more to Matthew judon him.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: Maybe he's a bigger voice in the locker room with
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: his message that he had after the game the other day.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: And I you know, I don't think that's the best
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: way to do it. You know, it's better when you
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: have it the way Fred explained it, when you just
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: have those guys sort of inherently already understanding what your
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: message is. And it seems like, you know, Bill's who
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: would you say Bill's guys are guys like Devonte Parker,
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: which it certainly seems like, you know, he brings, he
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: trades and now gives him more money. Bentley's a good
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: example though. I think Bentley would be a good example
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: of the like he would to me extrapolate toward, you know,
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: the way the Bruce Ki's in the beginnings and the
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: Rabels were. I think he plays like that Bentley. Not
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: talent wise, I'm saying the way he goes about his business.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think you know, gotcha. Before last
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: year you might have said David Andrews, But I think
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: all the guys on offense lost a little bit of trust.
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: He alienated some people from last year and a.
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: Point, the further you get away, I mean, it's easy
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: when you're going to AFC Championships and Super Bowls all
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: the time, and new players are just kind of being
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: put into the system and now they have that experience too,
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: and now you know when this guy speaks, you know,
- 1:13:17Speaker 7: David Andrews a guy they've already won four Super Bowls,
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: and he arrives but you know he still now has
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: won two and has some gravitas to him. But as
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: you get into season four, season five, away from it,
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: you don't have those same guys. You don't have the
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: same kind of you know, weight in the locker room
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: of somebody saying, you know, of course everyone knows who
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: Matthew Slater is, but you know, go back to I
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: think the point I made on Tuesday of just you know,
- 1:13:35Speaker 7: at what point is Matthew Slater just kind of like,
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: you know, we've been doing this for five years. I've
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: been giving the same speech every other week when we
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: lose a game about we have to decide whether we're
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: going to go down fighting or if we're gonna you know,
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: just allow this to happen. And I mean, I'm sure
- 1:13:47Speaker 7: he's getting sick of it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Let's go to Dan in Michigan and Virginia.
- 1:13:53Speaker 17: What's up, hey, Freid. You guys are having a terrific
- 1:13:56Speaker 17: show today. Mark's coming about the football tree and yours
- 1:13:59Speaker 17: in into Paul about knitting a forklift for his lunch
- 1:14:02Speaker 17: and impressions of five pitch teenage deuce calling prospective girlfriends
- 1:14:06Speaker 17: that have me laugh now.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: Loud, checking out like Paul.
- 1:14:12Speaker 17: But with the prediction for the cyclone this weekend, which,
- 1:14:17Speaker 17: by the way, I always thought the only difference between
- 1:14:20Speaker 17: cyclone and hurricane was that ones used in the northern
- 1:14:22Speaker 17: hemisphere and ones used in the southern hemisphere. We always
- 1:14:24Speaker 17: had cyclones in Australia, not the hurricanes.
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: Butwick okay, so I'm way off on that. Then I
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: thought it was the strength of it.
- 1:14:32Speaker 17: But the weather prediction has me concerned because if there
- 1:14:36Speaker 17: is a lot of rain, it really puts the game
- 1:14:38Speaker 17: on the on the running game and on the O line.
- 1:14:40Speaker 17: And last week's game with all the screen passes was maddening.
- 1:14:44Speaker 17: It doesn't work unless you have James White bog Lewis
- 1:14:47Speaker 17: coming out at the backfield and just really sort of
- 1:14:49Speaker 17: spoke to the concerns that they have with the limitations
- 1:14:52Speaker 17: that they have with the O line. So if we
- 1:14:55Speaker 17: do get the storm in New York. Who does it
- 1:14:57Speaker 17: give the advantage to the Jets or the the Patriots.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I think the Jets.
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: I think the Jets.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, better defense, yeah, probably better two backs. Yeah,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: and it evens out the offenses, you know.
- 1:15:09Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:15:10Speaker 17: I just thinking that their on line, their online is
- 1:15:12Speaker 17: in better shape, and they've got a couple of.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: Yea zero line has been the worst in football so far.
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: I mean, I know it's a small sample size. Mike
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: said that at the begining of the show about these
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: you know, these two week windows, but yeah, I mean,
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: you know, according to the metrics, they are the worst
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: offensive line in football. Now, that had a lot to
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: do with the fact that they played Dallas.
- 1:15:34Speaker 17: Yeah, but yeah, Buffalo, all right, the Patriots are line.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Ye. All right, thanks for the call, appreciate it. We'll
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: go up to New York, Dominie. What's up?
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: Hey, how you doing all right? Hey, Dommy good.
- 1:15:51Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:15:52Speaker 22: I gotta appreciate the discussion with the map quest. I
- 1:15:55Speaker 22: used to do that in middle school with my dad,
- 1:15:56Speaker 22: would up the ball game, and honestly, one of my
- 1:16:00Speaker 22: tests is like you not telling her before you're coming
- 1:16:03Speaker 22: up on an exit. You're not selling, Like how soon
- 1:16:05Speaker 22: it's coming up. So usually I have friends even with
- 1:16:07Speaker 22: their phones. Now they might tell me too late, I
- 1:16:09Speaker 22: missed the exit. I'm not getting given enough time to
- 1:16:11Speaker 22: like change into the lane. So you know, I think,
- 1:16:13Speaker 22: you know, growing up with the map court there makes
- 1:16:15Speaker 22: you a little bit more particular about your direction or not.
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: But locally, we had someone using the GPS that killed themselves.
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: They listened to the GPS and drove into the water.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Did you see that story?
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you hear those.
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: Beth and I immediately looked at each other and said,
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: we could see we'll doing that.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: But it takes a right into a cornfield, you know,
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: keep going straight, honey, I don't know, just driving to
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: the water, right.
- 1:16:39Speaker 22: I think it's good to like know your your map locally.
- 1:16:42Speaker 22: I think that's you vantished to. Everybody knows the backstreets
- 1:16:44Speaker 22: and they kind of know like the quick Grouse. My
- 1:16:46Speaker 22: mom knows all the pick Grosse Tee, you know, live
- 1:16:48Speaker 22: randof be able to get wherever she needs to go
- 1:16:50Speaker 22: without taking highways. Yeah, so you know, used to living
- 1:16:53Speaker 22: in that area.
- 1:16:53Speaker 11: That's a plus.
- 1:16:55Speaker 22: But yeah, just you know, quick thoughts again just on
- 1:16:57Speaker 22: the Patriot So I know we've talked a lot about
- 1:16:59Speaker 22: their off friends of launch struggles, and that's a part
- 1:17:01Speaker 22: of it. But you know, at the end of the day,
- 1:17:03Speaker 22: every team is going to go through their injury buck
- 1:17:05Speaker 22: especially with the offensive line. It always seems like that's
- 1:17:07Speaker 22: going to be in and out at the end of
- 1:17:08Speaker 22: the day. If we don't have a playmaker, if we
- 1:17:10Speaker 22: don't have someone that you know can really you can
- 1:17:12Speaker 22: throw the ball up to them, get you know, we
- 1:17:14Speaker 22: get a completion, get some yarders. It's just not really
- 1:17:16Speaker 22: gonna matter even if I think of we're healthy, because
- 1:17:19Speaker 22: if we have to be that perfect out only in
- 1:17:21Speaker 22: terms of execution, but health, it's.
- 1:17:23Speaker 15: Never going to work.
- 1:17:24Speaker 22: We don't have a Justin Jefferson or a Jamar Chase
- 1:17:27Speaker 22: or a Tyreek Kill or someone you know, EASi lead
- 1:17:29Speaker 22: quarterbacks can throw to. So you know, unless it's all perfect,
- 1:17:32Speaker 22: which it will never be, it's just going to be
- 1:17:34Speaker 22: the same thing over and over. So I mean hoping
- 1:17:36Speaker 22: for the best, but at this point kind of seeing
- 1:17:38Speaker 22: how things are going, kind of getting a sense of
- 1:17:40Speaker 22: what might happen, you know, you know, caustiously optimistic, but
- 1:17:44Speaker 22: realistic as well, so you know, go okay street to
- 1:17:46Speaker 22: see what happens.
- 1:17:47Speaker 15: Desperate.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks, Dominique. One more call and then we'll get
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: back to Evan, who's just back from practice. AJ's in
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: the Bay Area. What's up? Aj?
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: What keeps?
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: Say?
- 1:18:03Speaker 19: Hi to my eight month old son here?
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: He congratulations?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Hi?
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:18:11Speaker 19: Yeah yeah. So I I I'm just as frustrated with
- 1:18:15Speaker 19: the offense as everybody else, I think, but I'm trying
- 1:18:19Speaker 19: to find a little bit of optimism here, and I
- 1:18:24Speaker 19: just feel like with the offensive line in particular, they
- 1:18:28Speaker 19: they've gotten off to a slow start. They got some
- 1:18:31Speaker 19: guys that have only played their first game now, and
- 1:18:36Speaker 19: you know, maybe they can get their feet under them
- 1:18:38Speaker 19: a little bit more. That could help the passing game.
- 1:18:42Speaker 19: That's one reason to maybe be optimistic. You know, some
- 1:18:46Speaker 19: more continuity on the offensive line, maybe they can gel
- 1:18:49Speaker 19: a little bit here. And then, you know, another thing
- 1:18:52Speaker 19: I've been encouraged by is just seeing Kendrick Bourne get
- 1:18:55Speaker 19: more involved in the offense again from last year, looking
- 1:18:59Speaker 19: at little bit more like you did the year before.
- 1:19:02Speaker 19: I know, Pop Douglas, right, we are all not happy
- 1:19:06Speaker 19: with what happened last game, but you know, that was
- 1:19:10Speaker 19: just one game. I don't think he's going to be
- 1:19:12Speaker 19: sitting out a whole lot, especially if he shows what
- 1:19:15Speaker 19: he can do. And you know, a lot of people
- 1:19:18Speaker 19: probably don't want to hear it, but Taekwon Thornton, Right,
- 1:19:20Speaker 19: he's a fast guy, and I feel like, you know,
- 1:19:24Speaker 19: I don't have a whole lot of patients left to
- 1:19:26Speaker 19: see him show something, but you know, maybe maybe we
- 1:19:29Speaker 19: could see something from him when he comes back.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I hope.
- 1:19:32Speaker 19: So then the defense looks a little bit better, like
- 1:19:35Speaker 19: it might be able to hold you, you know, closer
- 1:19:38Speaker 19: in some of these games against the good teams. Yeah
- 1:19:40Speaker 19: than it was able to last year.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Let's hope they reverse the trend and actually get better
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: as the season goes along.
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: Yeah, Well, I think the offensive line is a good
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: place to start, you know. I mean, at least with
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: Trent Brown, and you know, he's got a little more money,
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: so maybe.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: It'd be a little bit more engaged, ready to.
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: Go and get the running game going. I mean, those
- 1:19:55Speaker 7: are my two areas of focus on that. Try to
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: get that stuff going and see what happens.
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: All right, I have some optimism from the offense.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Right, I think Evan is back.
- 1:20:05Speaker 10: Evan has returned practice, Evan has returned, has returned.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: There, all right, Evan, you were back fairly quickly, so shocker.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: Yeah all right, Well day two of Patriots practice this week,
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: and the new development is that city so is a
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: no so.
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: Not there show.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: So you had that, say it, say it?
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: So what are you saying?
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: I might just go sell your britches? So if we
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: give him to a million incentives, you think we'll be
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: back at practice tomorrow. So I don't know why does
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: he Why does he do that all the time? Why
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: is Paul always doing so? Yeah?
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: No, no, he was not still on the injury report
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: with concussion there.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: So yeah, he was on the injury port yesterday. Is
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: limited with the concussion. Yeah, maybe it didn't go so hot.
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be unfortunate because the head injuries are scary.
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: Yep, seriousness.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: No, Marcus Jones again, okay, shoulder injury on the injury
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: report and Devon God shot after the baby.
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: Back today, So good.
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: I think that.
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: Uh Marcus Jones, I I wonder if that's gonna be
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: an ir situation.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: What was his injury issue last year as a rookie
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: that held him out? Was that a shoulder as well?
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: So he had off season shoulder surgery on both shoulders
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: you're right, and uh, when he entered the league, but
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: I don't know if that if it was, who knows
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: how he injured.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: It's probably one of the same shoulders though.
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: Well you got a chance at it, Mike with the jokes. Yep.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: So that's that's the practice, that.
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: Process of elimination.
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: Yeah, the concussion. I thought that was interesting yesterday when
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: and so we're both included as being limited concussion And
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: I don't know if that's, you know, strictly following the
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: procedure or if they're still dealing with you.
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: Thought it would be like they'd been limited with funds funds.
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, I thought, listen, I gave you, I
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: gave you my joke that was that was a one
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: time thing.
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: But in all.
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: Seriousness, I figured if they're back on the practice field,
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: they had to have cleared protocol, right, so there's a
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: ramp up. Yeah, that's why I was out. That's exactly
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: what visit a procedure where you have to do it
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: on a limited basis and then yes, tomorrow you find out.
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: So to that point, assuming that this is nothing like
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: personal related with so maybe he's sick or something, who knows,
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: But if it's related to the concussion, then maybe it's
- 1:22:47Speaker 5: whatever said it didn't go well yesterday.
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: Off the top of my head, I don't remember the
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: exact procedure, but there is like a steps to clearance procedure,
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: and one of them is like, okay, like you can
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: you know, go run on a treadmill or something like that,
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: or if you do feel any symptoms, no, okay, Then
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: the next step is all right, let's go through a
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: portion of practice and then you don't and then you
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: and then contact right so then you ramp it back
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: up slowly from there. So my guess as yesterday they
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: went through the next phase of the protocol, and there's
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: a chance, at least I hate speculating, but there's a
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: chance that CITISO didn't pass the next step.
- 1:23:24Speaker 7: I mean, I don't think it's the biggest deal in
- 1:23:25Speaker 7: the world. I mean, I think right tackle right now
- 1:23:27Speaker 7: is just a huge question mark, and I really don't
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: know how that plays out, Like where to even start
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: this week, Like do you put Anderson back in there
- 1:23:33Speaker 7: and let him kind of give it a go.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: Do you give viderian lo a.
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: Chance over on that side? I mean, those probably are
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: the two options before you go.
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: I actually thought nuclear with him.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: Viderian Lowe was okay in the game on Sunday night
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: until late when Bradley Chubb got him a few times
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: and then got him on the sack. But on the
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: whole I thought he was better than Calvin Anderson was
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: on the other side. So I do wonder if maybe
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: they give Vederian low a look at practice at right
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: tackle this week. And I think a lot of people
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: was so are hoping, well, if he develops that guard,
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: then maybe you can kick on Wenn who back out
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: to right tackle, or if it's Mafi at right guard,
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: and then on when or whatever the case may be.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: But with Vederian Lowe, I was given the circumstances of
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: him being a back.
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: I didn't think it was terrible. Maybe it's because the
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: bar is lower, you know, with a guy who's never
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: really played, so you know, you know, what, what do
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: you expect?
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: You know, one of those kind of deals.
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't think.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: I didn't think at the very least he wasn't losing immediately, yeah,
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: and so like he was making them work for it.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: You know, sometimes you get clouded. And I'm as guilty
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: as this as anybody when you watch and you see
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: people like throwing the clips out, you know, and that's
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: that one clip that everybody's putting out of Calvin Anderson
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: on the Running Play where it's.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: Just like, I have no idea what he was doing.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: I have a theory on that. That's like an assignment issue, right,
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Like it's not like.
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: He didn't fail to block somebody, right, But I think
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: it goes around Twitter and people make it out to
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: be like bigger.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: Than it actually is. And I would agree with if
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: you watch the clip, Uh, you know, Anderson and Pharaoh
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Brown both pull, and my guess is one was supposed
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: to pin and one was supposed to pull, and they
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: both thought they were pulling and nobody pinned. And that's
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: how you have Javon Holland run through. So the question
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: that's that's easily correctable, like that will be a two
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: seconds little and pull concept.
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: You don't both pull.
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: There's no pin, we need a pin, You don't pull
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: the pin.
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: Adrian clemm okay had on there for a second.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Coach this one. This one's a little bit of different
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: take than what we've had. Trevor says, I was able
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: to attend the Dolphins game for my first visit Gillette. Sucks,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: we lost, but love the environment. I just wanted to
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: say I was on board with Benching Douglas. I know
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I wasn't at practice and training camp. For what I've seen,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: there was way too much hype around him. I'm hopeful
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: he can be a good player, but I think everybody's
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: expectations were too high, and now that a sixth round
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: rookie made a mistake, everyone is up at arms because
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: of the the expectations set for him.
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: Okay, so I totally respect the other side of this story,
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: but not for that reason necessarily, like it shouldn't have
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: anything to do with any hype. It was he got
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: the ball in his hand twice and made a play
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: both times in the first two series of the game.
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: That's why people are upset, not because he had a
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: good training camp. Yeah, like Booty didn't really have a
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: great training camp. He came on, you know, toward the end,
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: I thought, But I think people also wanted to see
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: Booty heading into the first game, right, and he didn't
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: have a great camp. But then the game came and
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: they threw the ball to him four times. He didn't
- 1:26:38Speaker 5: have any catches and no one was sitting there saying,
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: how can you bench Booty because he didn't play well
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: against the Eagles, But against the Eagles in Miami, in
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: limited reps, I thought Douglas did look like he had
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: a chance to give a spark. And that's why I mean,
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: I speaking for myself, that's why I was disappointed that
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: he didn't get another opportunity on offense. Not because of
- 1:26:58Speaker 5: the hype that he got, because you guys know me
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: on the hype, I don't really know. I mean, the
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: cutback was the cutback itself, Like, forget about the fumble
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: for a second. The route in the cutback was as
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: dynamic of a five seconds I've seen from the Patriots
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: offense in two games. Like he ran away from the
- 1:27:14Speaker 5: defender in man coverage, dusted him at the line of scrimmage,
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: then cut back and then got into the open field
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: and then Bradley Chubb really made like a fantastic.
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: Really good play. Yeah. But the only thing my only caveat.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: That I you know, would fully leave open because we're
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: not at practice, Evans, this is like three or four practices.
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: No wrong.
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: Now Evan's coming back and he's telling you how quickly.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: We're ushered out right. They're not even into the like
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: drills yet when you're getting on right after stretching right. Yep.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: Maybe he's dropping the ball once every practice, do you
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: know what I mean? And I don't know that because
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: we're not at practice. If he's having problems on a
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: consistent basis in practice and then he goes out in
- 1:27:54Speaker 5: the game and he's had the ball in his hand
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: five or six times and he's fumbling once, I could
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: understand Bill saying, you know what, his kid's not ready
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: to protect the ball in a game. We got to
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: sit them. I'll totally not not that Bill needs my okay,
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: but you know, I totally understand that I don't have
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: all the information. That's the argument you can make.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: It could be and and but the only reason why
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: we take the other side is because we've seen it
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: so many times with rookies who fumble and they get
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: put on the bench. But could all of them have
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: trouble in practice?
- 1:28:24Speaker 17: Yeah?
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I guess they all could.
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: Yeah. And I know with Stevenson in his rookie year,
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: they were upset with him because they didn't feel like
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: he was ready to play. They they called his professionalism
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: into question early early on in his career, and now,
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: to his credit, I don't think anybody would call his
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: professionalism into question anymore.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: Ever, he came in out of shape failed a conditioning
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: test as a rookie.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Let's go to Connor down the street in Foxborough. What's up, Connor? Connor?
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: Connor?
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: Connor from Fox.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: Take one more email, Donnie and Pittsburgh. There are no
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: exceptions and no excuses. This has to be a get
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: right week for the offense. I know the Jets are
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: seen as a solid defense, but this will be the
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: first game we play with the better quarterback on paper.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Mac must assert himself and improve his offensive unit compared
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: to the two last weeks. I brought up the box
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: score when I called Tuesday three and oh for the
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: first three quarters is unacceptable. As a fan, I won't
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: be satisfied with a thirteen to ten or similar score
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: to last season. I need to see at least three
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: touchdowns by the offense, preferably one in every quarter. Is
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: that an unfair expectation? Well, if there's a cycle, I.
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Got to ask the tropical cyclone about that.
- 1:29:41Speaker 5: One or the Jets defense. Well, I mean I don't
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: think three touchdowns is out of the ordinary. That's what
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: they do. Three scores. It was seventeen this week it
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: was twenty one. I mean twenty because they missed an
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: extra point the week before. We went for two, right, Yeah,
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: and they didn't get it. But like, I don't think
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: that's out of the realm. Three touchdowns. I don't think
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: you're asking for. That's what they've done. They've scored three
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: times in both games. I just I don't understand what
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: difference does it make who the other quarterback is, Like,
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: why they Why is more expected of the offense in
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: this game? Because because they have the teams quarterback isn't good.
- 1:30:21Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean i'd say the defense, like you gotta
- 1:30:24Speaker 7: get after him. You got to force them in the mistakes.
- 1:30:26Speaker 7: That's the thing with Zach Wilson for me, But I
- 1:30:27Speaker 7: mean for Mac, it's it's about that Jets defense.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: I mean, if the if the offense can do well
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: this week, it's a big uplift because you did it
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: against one of the league's best defenses.
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: That's a great I'm sure Dallas feels better about their
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: offense this week than they did the first one, right,
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: because they did it against a good defense and they
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: performed better.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: All right, Matt, it's that time of the week. What
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: happened last week?
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: Well, we're putting last week behind us.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Oh not a good wak. I know I was perfect
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: and then things went sideways.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: I think I think, yeah, I think I was really
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: bad with the spreads this week. Yeah. Fred continues to
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: perform well.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: Just trying to get my glasses ready here, hold please,
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: I can't see so good? Ud you sweater on too?
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Hello?
- 1:31:23Speaker 5: Children, leave grandpa, Hello friends. Freddy eleven and five, tied
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: with Evan.
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: At eleven and five.
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: Wow, that's a lot better than so good. Solid week
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: week two for you guys. Mike ten and six, good
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: for you, bad Alex nine and seven and Paul wow
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: wow seven and nine.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: What what happened to the field of the league.
- 1:31:46Speaker 5: Oh, he has the feel for the league. So with
- 1:31:50Speaker 5: the spread, Yeah, this is ugly. Evan ten five and one. Nice,
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: that's good, followed by Fred who continues his strong start
- 1:32:00Speaker 5: nine six and one. Then Alex six nine and one,
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: five ten and one, and Paul three twelve and one.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Twelve. That's a hole that you're going to have trouble getting.
- 1:32:20Speaker 9: Worry, boy, we got a lot of weeks football and
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: then move on.
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: So I did kind of think to myself, there's no
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: way I'm following up that last week, but I mean
- 1:32:29Speaker 5: last year. So overall, here we go Freddy twenty three
- 1:32:33Speaker 5: and nine, Mike and Evan twenty and twelve, Alex and
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: Paul sixteen and sixteen. That's as pathetic as it comes.
- 1:32:43Speaker 5: With the spread Freddy twenty eleven.
- 1:32:49Speaker 21: Making money eleven and one, followed by Mike and Evan sixteen,
- 1:32:56Speaker 21: fifteen and one, Alex fourteen, seventeen and one, and Paul
- 1:33:03Speaker 21: twelve nineteen and one.
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: And I know what's going on with him over there.
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: See, even you think I have a feel for the league,
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: you're a little disappointed with I'm shocked.
- 1:33:11Speaker 4: Plus I did lose a couple, so maybe you get
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: thrown off by all everybody else's picks.
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: I don't I don't even know who you guys. I
- 1:33:17Speaker 5: don't know who I can pick either. Sometimes all right tonight,
- 1:33:21Speaker 5: I don't know why.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: On Prime Video eight fifteen, the one in one Giants
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: are at the two and oh forty nine Ers.
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: The Niners by ten and a half.
- 1:33:32Speaker 7: Oh geez, I'm gonna take San Francisco. But I'm gonna
- 1:33:37Speaker 7: take the points for the Giants. I'm thinking maybe they
- 1:33:39Speaker 7: can build off of their end a little bit. It
- 1:33:41Speaker 7: just seems like a big spread. I know San Francisco
- 1:33:43Speaker 7: is really good, but I am I don't know. I
- 1:33:45Speaker 7: think I'm gonna pick the Giants to make it tighter
- 1:33:47Speaker 7: than ten and.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: A half are gonna go Niners. I'm gonna go with Mike.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Mike.
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: Oh, you give me Alex's picks, Evans picking.
- 1:33:59Speaker 5: I'm gonna go.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Mike as well. And uh and
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: say that the Giants covered the spread Thursday night. You know,
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: you don't see a ton of of one sided affairs
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: That is true.
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: However, I am going to lay the points with the
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: Niners because of Saquon Barkley. I just feel he's such
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: a big part of their offense. I'm gonna roll the
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: dice and see if they can cover.
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: Alex had forty nine ers and forty nine ers lay
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: the points.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I mean it's easy to say, oh, it's
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: not going to be that big a gap, but I
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: haven't wasn't even thinking about Barkley I'm just thinking it
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: took everything in their power to come back against the
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: Cardinals last week, and so I'm gonna go forty nine
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: ers to cover. You know, they're they're good. They're a
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: good team. Yep. I would say in your power rankings
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: they probably number one.
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: Right the power rankings? Anybody cares them or Miami?
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Yeah? Well, you know what's fun you you?
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: I don't think they have Miami and my five?
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: Oh no, I think I think I forgot.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: Maybe that might explain my three, two, twelve and one.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: Okay, Moving to Sunday one o'clock, the one and one
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: Colts are at the two and oho Ravens.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: Baltimore by seven and a half. Is this Anthony Rich?
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: Do we know? It looks like it's trending toward Gardner Minshew.
- 1:35:17Speaker 7: Min I like Minshew though, but it's at Baltimore. I'm
- 1:35:21Speaker 7: gonna take Baltimore and I will lay the points and
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: Alex is doing.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Where is it? Okay?
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: Do I have to look at my slacks? Sorry, Ravens Ravens.
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: I'm going Ravens Ravens as well. Lamar Jackson MVP front
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: runner in my book right now, Lamar Jackson two, No,
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: not too.
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: You know, I'm tempted to take the hook, but I'm
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: so far behind i can't do it. I'm gonna take
- 1:35:49Speaker 5: Baltimore both ways.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Ravens both ways too. Colts
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: have been a little better than I thought they would.
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm worried that without the quarterback they take
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: a step back offensively.
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Up Sunday at one, the one and one Titans are
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: at the one and one Browns.
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: Brown's by three and a half. It's by three and
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: a half. I'm gonna take Tennessee on the upset pick of.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: The death taxes and Mike taking Mike Rabel.
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: That's right, alex Is is where the heck is this one?
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: Oh geez, Browns. She took the Titans with the points though.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: I'm taking the upset too. I'm taking the Titans. I
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: do not think the Browns have done anything offensively to
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: be impressive, and for some reason, Rabel always wins weird
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: games like this, So I'm taking the Titans.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: I agree with you guys that Rabel tends to win
- 1:36:47Speaker 5: more games than you think. You know, but I just
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: think Cleveland's better and I'm gonna take I'm gonna take
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: the Browns to win and cover.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I was tempted to take the Titans as well, but
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: now they're on it, so you can't. I'm gonna hedge it.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: I'm going to take the Browns, but I'm gonna take
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: those points. Didn't Watson have some issues last week?
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: He was terrible playing No, but after like did he
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: push somebody?
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: It was not a ref that the NFL deans had
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: not rised. I think that was the wording was not
- 1:37:20Speaker 5: rising to the level.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Deshaun Watson looked like like garbage and Nick
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: Chubb is dead well, NFL dead.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: I will take the points. At one o'clock, the two
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: and oh Falcons are at the one and one.
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: Lions Lions by three.
- 1:37:41Speaker 7: I like this game, though, I was saying on the
- 1:37:43Speaker 7: halftime show how much I am and this is a
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: fun game. I just enjoyed Atlanta and you know Detroit
- 1:37:49Speaker 7: is at home, so I'm going to take Detroit, but
- 1:37:51Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the points for Atlanta.
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be close.
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Lions. I'll take them to cover.
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: I just can't trust Atlant on the road yet. I
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: think they are they do have something brewing, but that's
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: a tough spot.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: Yeah, Alex, the Lions, Lions.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Lions, Lions too. But I
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: agree with you guys about the Falcons. I think they
- 1:38:09Speaker 5: have a semblance of a good young core with London
- 1:38:12Speaker 5: and Pitt's and Robinson, Desmond Ritter. Yeah that's you know,
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: if that if they can hit on those and have
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: you know, get those guys on a second contract together
- 1:38:21Speaker 5: and all of a sudden you're dealing with a pretty
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: good core of offensive players.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Just keep picking in the top ten and you'll get.
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: Good players, but the offensive skill play. But you have
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: to hit on them too. I mean, I wouldn't say
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: like the you know, Drake London, oh hit I mean,
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: I think it looks like he's pretty good. But you know,
- 1:38:38Speaker 5: sometimes you take those guys they don't pan out.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Yeah, Robinson's cool.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: This is a good it's a good game to fade.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: If you're Shore, you got the Falcons.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: Because anyone that says they know who these two teams
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: are right now, I don't think they're telling you the trying.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go with the Falcons for the upset. Okay, Hey,
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: Sunday at one the two and oh Saints are at
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: the one and one Packers.
- 1:39:05Speaker 5: Packers by two, the pack by two.
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: Any any word on Christian Watson is.
- 1:39:14Speaker 7: Yeah, that's all right. I'm gonna take green Bay and
- 1:39:17Speaker 7: I'll allay the points.
- 1:39:19Speaker 5: I'm gonna take green Bay.
- 1:39:20Speaker 4: Oh sorry, Alex, Packers, Packers for Alex.
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: I'm gonna go.
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Packers, Packers as well. Saints defense really good,
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: but that offense did not so much.
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, they miss Kamara and i will take
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: the Packers as well. You're starting to see just how
- 1:39:37Speaker 5: much Kamara did for that offense.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Packers both ways. If
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: it wasn't New Orleans, I might be a little different.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: But it is. Sunday at one oh and two, Texans
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: at the one and one.
- 1:39:48Speaker 9: Jaguars Jags by noine nine points.
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: Alex going Jags and Jags and yeah that's the division.
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Jags, but I'm gonna take those points.
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: I think it's a close one.
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: The Texans have a ton of injuries on top of
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: not being a very good roster, so I'm gonna go
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: Jaguars both ways.
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Jacksonville both ways too. I think
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: they're probably kicking themselves. They missed a lot of opportunities
- 1:40:16Speaker 5: last week. I think they cleaned some of that up.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, Lawrence has yet to play a full sixty
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: minutes of good football. I think this week, because of
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: the competition, he should and will. So I'm gonna take
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Jaguars both ways. Sunday at one, the zero to two
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: Broncos are at the two and zero Dolphins.
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: On the road again.
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: For the Broncos, Miami by six and a half.
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: Actually the first time this year. But anyway, yeah is it?
- 1:40:46Speaker 7: Yeah, I gotta I'm gonna go with Miami and I'm
- 1:40:48Speaker 7: gonna lay the points. Say, I just recency buys for me.
- 1:40:51Speaker 7: I thought they looked really good.
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: I'm gonna stick with them, Alex, Alex did the where
- 1:41:01Speaker 4: is it?
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: Sorry?
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: Dolphins both ways?
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna take Miami both ways too. I
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: was thinking about taking the points, but I think they
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: beat him by a touchdown.
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: I think a certain head coach called another certain head
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: coach who was his friend and gave him some tips.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: And I'm gonna take those points. So Dolphins win.
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: But Sean Payton called who Belichick parcels?
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah Belichick. Belichick and Peyton are friends.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: Now they were friends.
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: Let the Dolphins go never mind, You're right, so you
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: got you got Miami to win, but Denver to cover.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: Just don't turn it over.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: What did it?
- 1:41:50Speaker 5: You could never find now, Alex.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: Dolphins, but took the points for the Broncos.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: Okay, uh, Sunday at one the oh and two Chargers
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: are at the OH and two.
- 1:41:59Speaker 5: Viking Vikings by one.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: Somebody's got to win Vikings probably one.
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: There are top.
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: Man, this is These are two very similar teams, and
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: but I'm gonna go I'm gonna go with l A. Baby,
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: Let's uh, I'll go with l A. I'll take those
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: at one point.
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: I'm taking the Vikings at home because I do not
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: trust the Chargers to win a road game.
- 1:42:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42:25Speaker 5: I think both of these teams are very similar in
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: that they're just not that good, and for some reason
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: people still think.
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: They both are, especially the Chargers.
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: But I'm gonna I'm gonna take the Chargers on the
- 1:42:36Speaker 5: road because I think they're a little bit better than Minnesota.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: Alex.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Paul, I'm surprised we're on the same page here.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: I think the Chargers have a big offensive game, big
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: offensive game.
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: Her cousin's at one o'clock, folks, that is true.
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: But I'm gonna take the Chargers, uh for that one
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: one o'clock. The one and one Bills are at the
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: two and oh Commanders.
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: Buffalo by six and a half.
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: Buffalo's nine and a half and a half. Alex took
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: the Bills, but the Commander's points. But I am going
- 1:43:09Speaker 4: to take the Bills and I'm going to lay the
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: points eleven.
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: This is tough because Sam Howell's actually looked to play great,
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: pretty decent. I'm gonna take Buffalo both ways, though. I
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: just think they're a much better team. But the Commanders
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: are a little sneaky, a little sneaky.
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: I'm going to take Buffalo both ways too. But I'm
- 1:43:28Speaker 5: watching watching you. I'm watching you, Buffalo. I want to
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: see if you handle this. This is a spot the
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: last few years that they would stumble, you know, on
- 1:43:37Speaker 5: the road against not a terrible team, but not a
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: good one either, and they sort of roll the balls
- 1:43:42Speaker 5: out there and see what happens, and they either win
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: by you know, a closer game than it should be.
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: They're kind of like Baltimore like that. Baltimore does a
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: lot of those. Well all of a sudden, you know,
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: you look up and it's like seventeen thirteen in the
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: fourth court and you're like, what's going on in that game? Yeah,
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: but I'll take Buffalo.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: I will be rooting for the Commanders, but I have
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: the Bills winning both ways. So all right, now we
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: skip over the Patriots and we go to the one
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: four h five game. It's the zero to two Panthers
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: at the one and one Seahawks.
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: Seattle by six.
- 1:44:16Speaker 5: Good chance, there is no price Young, Rice Young.
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the case. Seattle at home. I will lay
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: the points. Alex did the same.
- 1:44:25Speaker 3: The worst offense in the NFL right now is the
- 1:44:27Speaker 3: Carolina Panthers, and they might be down there starting quarterback.
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: So I'm gonna take Seattle.
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: B do the math.
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: See, I'm gonna take Seattle both ways too, But I
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: wonder if it actually helps them. You know, I think
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: Bryce Young is fine, you know, but he's not ready.
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: I watched the you know, good chunk of that Monday
- 1:44:45Speaker 5: night game the other night, and if he wasn't able
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: to just pull it down and run.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: They had a hard time.
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: Moving the ball. Ali pretty good drive. At the end
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: of the game. They were down ten and at one
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: of those well by the way touchdown drives and he
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: did a good job, you know, with the clock. They
- 1:44:59Speaker 5: just take Seattle Bowl.
- 1:45:00Speaker 3: They traded Dj Moore for the pick to draft Price
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: Young and now they have no receivers in Carolina.
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: Adam Adam Balen was like the only guy who's throwing too.
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take Seahawks both ways in that one
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: at home four to twenty five. The two and oh
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: Cowboys are at the zero to two.
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: Cardinals Dallas by twelve and a half. Twelve and a half.
- 1:45:20Speaker 7: That's a lot, but I think that's that's enough. I'm
- 1:45:25Speaker 7: gonna take Dallas and I'll lay the points. Alex did
- 1:45:28Speaker 7: the same.
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Dallas to cover Micah Parsons. Is he
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: like the best player in football?
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: My gosh?
- 1:45:35Speaker 5: Yeah, not quarterback edition.
- 1:45:38Speaker 4: That's next week too, like here next week. Yeah.
- 1:45:43Speaker 5: I mean, that's a big spread on the road, but
- 1:45:45Speaker 5: I'm gonna I can't take the points.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Dallas both ways too.
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a hammer and nail game. I'm gonna
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: take the Cowboys both ways.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: Uh, Cardinals of the nail.
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: Five. The two Bears are at the one and one Chiefs.
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: Chiefs by twelve and a half.
- 1:46:06Speaker 7: Oh boy, a lot of controversy for Chicago this week.
- 1:46:10Speaker 4: Yeah, don't love it hard not to take Kansas City
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: and lay the points, and I'm going.
- 1:46:15Speaker 3: To I don't love taking that many points with the
- 1:46:17Speaker 3: Chiefs right now either, because I don't think that they're
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: firing at all cylinders quite yet. But the Bears are
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: such disarray, i gotta take the Chiefs both ways.
- 1:46:27Speaker 4: Alex is tristed to you twelve and a half.
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the flow Kansas City both ways.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a subpoena issued in Chicago for the
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: offense to show up, but it won't. Chiefs both ways.
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: Get arrested defensive coordinator too.
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. Now we move to Sunday night on
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: and sure, oh this.
- 1:46:51Speaker 5: Is the night game.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: Yeah, the one and one Steelers are at the one
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: and one Raiders gros.
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: What a bad game.
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the one I'll be watching. Raiders by two
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: and a half Raiders.
- 1:47:03Speaker 7: Wow, all right, that's that's spun around on my sheet
- 1:47:06Speaker 7: tough one. I did watch some of Vegas against Buffalo
- 1:47:09Speaker 7: last week and was not impressed, and I know Pittsburgh's
- 1:47:13Speaker 7: still been struggling to get things going.
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with the home team. I'll take Vegas,
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: a'll ay the points.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the home team as too, home team,
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: two bodyclock, weird bodyclock game traving across the country.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Pittsburgh.
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: I don't know why.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: I mean, they kind of the same, these teams, and
- 1:47:33Speaker 5: you should go with the home team, but I'm gonna
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: for some reason in my mind, I think Pittsburgh's better.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a complete gut pick for me, not
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: that any of the others aren't. But I'm gonna take
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: the Steelers as well for the road upset.
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: Alice had Raiders, but Steelers plus two and a half.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: So we have a Monday night double hitter again.
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, we got a pall paro little special, right.
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: We didn't talk about it like I just brought it up.
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: You guys didn't like it, Oh I did, no. I
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: I thought I liked the idea of being able to
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: like switch back and forth. It taste of some day
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: I hate commercially.
- 1:48:07Speaker 4: Don't get that. We don't get it. Yeah right, you know,
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: and they're either a stream you do not like it.
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Games.
- 1:48:12Speaker 5: I liked having them both at the same time. And
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: you I thought they did a good job of keeping
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: you up to date, you know, like so like if
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: you were watching one and something was happening, they got
- 1:48:20Speaker 5: you over there.
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:48:21Speaker 5: Did you not like the experience?
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: I fell asleep in the first quarter?
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: Yeah. Now now yeah, Now, in all seriousness, it was
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: it's coming off a night game, and neither game was was,
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: you know, terribly compelling. The start of the Pittsburgh Cleveland
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: game was exciting, but because of all the ineptitude, because
- 1:48:39Speaker 5: it was drunk, there was there was four turnovers in
- 1:48:41Speaker 5: the first like ten minutes of that game.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Seven fifteen on ABC, the two and oh Eagles are
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: at the two and oh Buccaneers.
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: Uh, Philly by five. Five. I know that the Tampa's
- 1:48:57Speaker 4: showing a little juice here. I'm seeing some high for
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: Baker Mayfield, but I don't think it's enough. I think
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: Philadelphia is gonna really start to kick in the gear here.
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: I will take them and lay the points.
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: Philly rolls, that's all I got you're taking the points.
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: Did you say, No'm laying the point?
- 1:49:13Speaker 5: Laying the point?
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: And Alex did the same.
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Philly both ways too. I think
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: Tampa I give him a lot of credit, you know,
- 1:49:19Speaker 5: find a way to win a couple of games to
- 1:49:20Speaker 5: start the year. I don't think they're very good.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: Two and zero because you don't like Baker Mayfield. That's
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: your problem.
- 1:49:26Speaker 5: Well, that that's true. Yeah, I don't think Tampa is
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: very good because I think their quarterback stinks. That is accurate.
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: I am going to go with the Buccaneers to cover.
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: Eagles win, but the Buccaneers don't lose by the points
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: that were said.
- 1:49:43Speaker 4: That's that's gambling parlance.
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: Yeah, so is covering.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: That's covering eight fifteen on ESPN The one in one
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Rams are against the zero to two Bengals, Bengals by
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: two and a half.
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: Wow, this line has moved from my sheet.
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: Well what did it say in Yoshi's six and a half?
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: Bengals Bengals, So.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: The money's coming in.
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: I mean, Puka Nakula, you can't stop them. You can
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: only hope to contain them. I'm gonna take Cincinnati La
- 1:50:12Speaker 4: the points.
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: Upset of the week. I just I look at Joe
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: Burrow and I don't see Joe Burrow.
- 1:50:20Speaker 4: I see it got a chat injury.
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: Of himself, and I'm actually pretty shocked at the Bengals
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: haven't shut him down for a couple of weeks.
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: And yeah, if they lose this one, that could happen.
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: I think it's a get right game. I'll take the Bengals,
- 1:50:34Speaker 5: much like last year.
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: I'm going with the Rams both ways.
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: Didn't see that coming.
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: Yep, you know it, Paul, Rams win, Bengals go oh
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: and three. All right, Now we go back to one
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: o'clock in New Jersey. The oh and two Patriots are
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: up against the one and one Jets.
- 1:50:58Speaker 5: Patriots by two and a half.
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: All right, I'm gonna get away from my pick for that.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: And a half. Yeah, that's five and a half.
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: It's because on the point road, right, you get three,
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: get three. That's extra bad.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: But actually that that's happening less.
- 1:51:13Speaker 4: Than don't don't, don't, don't, don't, don't. Don't.
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: Don't bring logic into this even I am.
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: Going to take New England.
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: Don't don't get me going.
- 1:51:23Speaker 4: But I think it's.
- 1:51:23Speaker 7: It's it's gonna be points are going to be at
- 1:51:25Speaker 7: a premium, and so I'm going to say Patriots thirteen
- 1:51:28Speaker 7: to six.
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: I'm taking the Patriots. I just feel like even post Brady,
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: they still win games against Zach Wilson's of the world.
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: They don't lose these types of games against lesser quarterbacks.
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: But I think there's going to be a little bit
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: more scoring than other people do. I don't know how
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: they get. There might be defensive touchdowns. Marcus Jones while
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: he might not play so Pop Douglas, Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: Twenty seventeen Patriots, Yeah.
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: I am.
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: The formula for Patriots success in recent vintages have the
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: other team's backup quarterback playing and that is the case.
- 1:52:06Speaker 5: So I am on the Patriots. I think that they
- 1:52:08Speaker 5: are The difference between the two quarterbacks is the difference
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: in the game. And I think maybe seventeen thirteen New England,
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: I think Zach Wilson throws one h two to you
- 1:52:19Speaker 5: and that's the difference in the game.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Yeah, this weather, yeah, I was. I was with Evan
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: before I got about the cyclone that's coming, and I
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: thought that there'd be more points. What's the over under
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: in this game?
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: Thirty seven, thirty seven.
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought that I was gonna go with the over.
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: I'm going to stick with the Patriots scoring in the
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: low twenties. So I'm gonna say twenty three ten Patriots.
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: I like that one. Alex's Patriots twenty four to thirteen.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: Twenty four to thirteen, that's Alex. Okay, So we're all
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: on the Patriots.
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: Shocker, you gotta be this, We're all on the under.
- 1:52:58Speaker 7: I mean, I do think the game is going to
- 1:53:00Speaker 7: be tight, and weather could really just make it a
- 1:53:02Speaker 7: coin flip of who makes that one big play at
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: some point in the game. But I just think the
- 1:53:07Speaker 7: Patriots need it more than the Jets do right now,
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: and that's going to make the difference.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: I hope.
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: I think.
- 1:53:12Speaker 5: I just can't see Bill losing to Zach Wilson. I can't.
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: That's me.
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: That's where I am.
- 1:53:17Speaker 5: If if Aaron Rodgers were playing in this game, I
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: would not have I would I would pick Jet.
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: I'd be scared to death. Mike and your round table
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: this morning. Any interesting I haven't I haven't.
- 1:53:29Speaker 4: I haven't been. I haven't gone through him yet. I've
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: gotten some of them back.
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: I requisite a media turn, did you.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Fred's quick, it's got nothing going on. He's just sitting
- 1:53:39Speaker 4: in there waiting.
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: I wonder if you got in before calendar being the
- 1:53:47Speaker 5: first responder, probably the busiest one. I don't know about
- 1:53:53Speaker 5: that had a meeting. Sorry, sorry, I got to do
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: this right now. Okay, So I think we all see
- 1:54:02Speaker 5: the same kind of a game. Points would be sort
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: of fluctuating based on the amount of turnovers, right, ye,
- 1:54:10Speaker 5: can't have them.
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: I see some some pick threes. Likes to call them.
- 1:54:15Speaker 5: There were a lot of pick threes in this game
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: last year.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: Yeah, oh boy, I'm nervous. I'm really nervous. I can't
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: remember in Week three being like this, like, oh god,
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: it's a must win.
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: You know, probably two at least it's not Aaron. Like
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: if this was Aaron Rodgers, and I think all of
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: us would be picking oh and three.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Right, So there's any other team but the Jets, Like
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: if you're playing the Bears this week, and like, okay,
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: you gotta win it. But you'll lose against the Jets
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: after fourteen straight wins and Zach Wilson's the quarter and
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: you'll lose. That can't happen. That cannot happen. Telling you
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: right now. It cannot happen.
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: That would get really ugly when you really think about it.
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: If they if they lose for the first time in
- 1:54:58Speaker 3: seven years to the Jets, to Jack Wilson, that to
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: go and three, that could be really that could be
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: a ballgame right there, look out.
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: Below and then down and then off to Dallas.
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: And then off to Dallas.
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: But then they beat Dallas, they upset them good again better. Yeah,
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: that's true.
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: It goes back to what we were talking on the top
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: of the show. Every week has its own life, and
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: things can really change quickly if you get that big
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: win against a team that's good like Dallas.
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: You know, I mean to beat the Jets.
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: I I I can't even get to that yet, but
- 1:55:33Speaker 7: that's going to be another big challenge too. But I
- 1:55:35Speaker 7: got a lot of respect for the personnel the Jets have,
- 1:55:37Speaker 7: and you know, I know that these games have been
- 1:55:39Speaker 7: closer lately.
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: And we'll see the turner's.
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: Name, Douglas, the GM over there, Douglas. He's got a
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: pretty good job so far.
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: It's got a lot of high picks.
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: Yeah, he's built a lot of high picks, but he's
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: picked some good guys.
- 1:55:53Speaker 5: Besides Zach Wilson.
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: True, is that his pick yes, okay.
- 1:55:57Speaker 3: Which is like that's in itself tells you how good
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: they've done with the rest of the roster, because if
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: you pick a number two overall quarterback and he stinks,
- 1:56:04Speaker 3: that's usually game.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: I know we're coming up against it. We're going to
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: get ready for catch twenty two. But I think we
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: need to have a segment at some point to talk
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: about the current state of quarterbacks coming out of college,
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: because I think we've lowered our bar. I think Trevor
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Lawrence was a blue chipper, but other than that, all
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: these guys that have come out, these aren't the quality
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: quarterbacks that were used to being seeing at tops of drafts.
- 1:56:32Speaker 7: Joe Burrow is, but I mean there's a lot of traits,
- 1:56:36Speaker 7: a lot of guys with traits.
- 1:56:37Speaker 5: You know, you don't think Herbert's any good good You
- 1:56:39Speaker 5: could say that he's not going to win.
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: Well wait a minute, did I say that?
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: I just said Herbert and he said as a prospect, right,
- 1:56:47Speaker 5: But that's what I'm saying. He's got all the tools.
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he was a great prospect, but thank you.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: But there's a lot of guys like have had all
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: the tools that don't pan.
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: But like Burrow, Trevor, Lawrence, to Uh and Herbert are
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: for legit, legit prospects coming out. This quarterback class coming
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: up don't get far star like last.
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: But people here Caleb Williams. Is he that that good?
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: They're playing his music?
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: Is he that good?
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: Oh? So you just don't like anybody caod Now listen,
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: there's been guys that bust in the NFL. I'm not
- 1:57:24Speaker 5: telling you he's bust proof, but the guy is tremendous,
- 1:57:27Speaker 5: is he? Yes? Oh yeah, he's he's really good him.
- 1:57:31Speaker 5: Did you ever watch any USC games? Yeah, he's good.
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: D Drake May really good from u n C. Shrewder
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: Sanders from Colorado. But Dion said that he might go
- 1:57:40Speaker 3: to He might go back because of n I l against.
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: Taking more money.
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: To take you have to take a pay cut.
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: He already already has a rolls Royce, I heard about that.
- 1:57:50Speaker 5: And Thomas and at t c U to take a
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: cut to the.
- 1:57:52Speaker 3: L Yeah, well he's mentoring him, is he?
- 1:57:55Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah?
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: Wow?
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that kid's gonna be good.
- 1:57:59Speaker 5: Is that just poor to you? I could look at
- 1:58:01Speaker 5: the disappointment on your face.
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: No, you know what I'm kind of impressed. What if?
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: What if? Kind of impressed that Probably Dion Sanders reached
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: out to Tom Brady and said, can you mentor my kid?
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: Yeah, he's signed to TV twelve brand, and what if
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: he's the next quarter.
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: I'm impressed by that, Like maybe you know realizes he doesn't.
- 1:58:19Speaker 5: If he's the next coach of the team. Well prime coach.
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: Coach Prime and his son with Tom Brady mentoring the Sun.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I like it.
- 1:58:28Speaker 15: I like it.
