- 0:01Speaker 1: It hits in access to Mark by setting a pre
- 0:04Speaker 1: set in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 0:07Speaker 1: his podcast.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone show on wor Hey,
- 0:14Speaker 2: let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 0:17Speaker 2: how you doing, good morning, Mark.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I'm doing very well, Thank you very much.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Mark.
- 0:22Speaker 3: A day or two ago, I was watching Fox News
- 0:25Speaker 3: Channel and one of the commentators gave the impression that
- 0:28Speaker 3: Iran is about a week or two away from actually
- 0:32Speaker 3: becoming a nuclear power. And my question, is there any
- 0:37Speaker 3: timeline to that fact?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Well, yeah, good question, Dave. That was actually negotiator Steve
- 0:42Speaker 2: Whitkoff meeting with the Iranians warning the world.
- 0:45Speaker 1: They've been enriching well beyond the number that you need
- 0:51Speaker 1: for civil nuclear it's it's up to sixty percent. They're
- 0:56Speaker 1: probably a week away from having industrial, industrial grade bomb
- 1:02Speaker 1: making material and that's well scary stuff.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Now again, that's material that the nuclear plants and all
- 1:08Speaker 2: that are gone. But that's scary stuff, and I think
- 1:12Speaker 2: the President will address that tonight in tonight's speech. Let's
- 1:15Speaker 2: go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing, good.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Morning, Mark, Yes, Mike wishing all, my fellow New Yorker
- 1:22Speaker 5: is good luck with this stupid snow.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, good luck with your eight hurricanes you're gonna
- 1:26Speaker 2: have this year.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I'm not being sarcastic.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I'm gonna believe me. I'm not told about that either,
- 1:31Speaker 5: or the power outages.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Every time you know about snow, it just melts and
- 1:34Speaker 2: goes away. It doesn't knock your house exactly like those.
- 1:37Speaker 6: That's for sure.
- 1:38Speaker 5: You said it. Yeah, but you know it was funny
- 1:42Speaker 5: because you know Trump is getting excoriated now for joking
- 1:45Speaker 5: with the men's hockey team. You know, these are the
- 1:48Speaker 5: same people who pride themselves on having these great senses
- 1:50Speaker 5: of humor and being open minded and so forth, and
- 1:54Speaker 5: they can't take a joke. None of them can take
- 1:55Speaker 5: They all have glass jaws when it comes to.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Nobody has less of a sense of humor than Democrats.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's like Kimmel, Colbert, no sense of humor whatsoever. Let's
- 2:05Speaker 2: go to Let's go to Lorraine in Long Island. Lorraine,
- 2:07Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 2:09Speaker 6: I'm fine, Thank you, good morning, Mark, thank you for
- 2:11Speaker 6: taking my call.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Hey, where are you in Long Island?
- 2:14Speaker 6: I'm in Marich's Day.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Oh you got a lot of snow there south shore right.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Oh, yes, quite a bit, quite a bit much out now, thanks,
- 2:23Speaker 6: thanks for that. Just a quick question. There doesn't seem
- 2:27Speaker 6: to be much reporting on the DHS shut shutdown regarding
- 2:31Speaker 6: t s A at the airports. And I'm planning a
- 2:34Speaker 6: trip to Florida in March, and what do you think
- 2:38Speaker 6: is going to happen with that? Will it be over
- 2:41Speaker 6: by then or what's going on there?
- 2:43Speaker 2: That should be okay? But you may not have the
- 2:47Speaker 2: what do you call it the pre check you know? Yes,
- 2:50Speaker 2: do you have that where you don't wait in the line, Yes,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I do. You might get effect that they might have
- 2:56Speaker 2: to shut that down, but god, well it's this could
- 3:00Speaker 2: change at any moment. You got you got a week
- 3:02Speaker 2: or two, so hopefully it gets settled. A good question. Uh,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you know they're not funded the Department of Homeland Security.
- 3:10Speaker 2: This is their new thing. Instead of defund the police,
- 3:12Speaker 2: defund Department Homeland Security. But that includes a secret service
- 3:16Speaker 2: in there. FEMA is in that department and the TSA,
- 3:19Speaker 2: so they're working right now. There's enough money to keep
- 3:22Speaker 2: paying them, but it could run out and they might
- 3:24Speaker 2: have to cancel that TSA pre check stuff. But also
- 3:29Speaker 2: believe or not. If you're in Congress, you get a
- 3:31Speaker 2: special escort that walks you past the line. So they
- 3:35Speaker 2: have announced they have to cancel that special escort program
- 3:39Speaker 2: due to a manpower shortage there. But that's just to
- 3:42Speaker 2: make the make the congressmen and women feel the pain
- 3:45Speaker 2: of this. Let's go to John in Norwalk, Connecticut. Hey, John, Hi,
- 3:50Speaker 2: how are you good.
- 3:51Speaker 5: I'm just curious Mark under report.
- 3:53Speaker 6: That the.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Kid who shot the the insurances that get over the back.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I'm told that they the judge's taking the death penalty
- 4:02Speaker 4: off the table.
- 4:02Speaker 2: How's it possible, Well, it looks like they may have
- 4:05Speaker 2: They may lose the charge. It has a death penalty,
- 4:08Speaker 2: it's possible he could.
- 4:09Speaker 5: And also that the gun was not admitted as eviden.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Well, this hasn't been settled yet, but I remember the
- 4:17Speaker 2: good news that they're arguing that when he was arrested
- 4:20Speaker 2: in the something was illegal in the arrest. But the
- 4:23Speaker 2: good news is he shot him right outside our window,
- 4:26Speaker 2: right over there on the corner. And yeah, it's right
- 4:28Speaker 2: outside the window. The good news is every into Manhattan
- 4:31Speaker 2: has surveillance video cameras, so you can watch him shoot
- 4:34Speaker 2: the guy. You can see the video. There's no way,
- 4:37Speaker 2: no way, he doesn't get convicted. Let's go to Dan
- 4:40Speaker 2: and Queen's Dan. How you doing.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Hi? You know, for years the Democrats have been putting
- 4:47Speaker 4: out propaganda about global warming and the Earth is warming.
- 4:50Speaker 4: So now they're not prepared when we have this huge
- 4:52Speaker 4: blizzards and they're all struck by something like this that
- 4:55Speaker 4: could happen.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well, you got to remember everything they told you it
- 4:59Speaker 2: turned out to be false. If you go get the
- 5:01Speaker 2: Al Gore movie An Inconvenient Truth from twenty years ago,
- 5:04Speaker 2: watch it.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Now.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Every single thing he predicted was not only false, the
- 5:08Speaker 2: exact opposite happened. You know. He said, well there are
- 5:11Speaker 2: only seven thousand polar bears, there won't be any in
- 5:13Speaker 2: ten years. Well, there's more polar bears than ever this
- 5:16Speaker 2: twenty thousand. Remember we said the glacier will recede and
- 5:18Speaker 2: be gone. The glaciers bigger than ever. Everything he said,
- 5:22Speaker 2: just the opposite happened. There will one more call, Bill
- 5:24Speaker 2: from Lafayette, Bill, How you doing okay?
- 5:28Speaker 6: Mark?
- 5:29Speaker 3: The police officers being hit by snowball Jerke today it
- 5:32Speaker 3: really bothered me.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Oh, it's horrible. We're gonna get to that in the
- 5:35Speaker 2: next hour, a bunch of kids throwing I don't know
- 5:37Speaker 2: if there were kids, but a police officer's been hit
- 5:39Speaker 2: with snowballs. It's really ugly video. We'll get to that
- 5:43Speaker 2: in the next hour. The police are going to respond
- 5:45Speaker 2: to that. But when we come back, John Carney, who's
- 5:49Speaker 2: this guy is the smartest, brightest business reporter in the world.
- 5:54Speaker 2: He can explain the tariffs better than anybody, and it's
- 5:57Speaker 2: obviously going to be a big topic. The tariffs are
- 5:59Speaker 2: Supreme Court ruling tonight on the State of the Union speech,
- 6:03Speaker 2: But we'll talk to him about that, the economy, and
- 6:05Speaker 2: a whole lot more. Just ahead on seven to ten
- 6:08Speaker 2: wor
