- 0:21Speaker 4: Bench, all right, Welcome back in ALP number three, OTV one,
- 0:36Speaker 4: O four five, ESPN bet Rouge. It is nine o'clock
- 0:39Speaker 4: on Tuesday, So you know what that means. You're gonna
- 0:41Speaker 4: catch you up with our guy Nick Underhill, New Orleans
- 0:44Speaker 4: Dot Football joins us.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Now, Nick, how we doing? How were living doing?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Fantastic? And uh, you can just go ahead and tell
- 0:52Speaker 4: us the starting quarterback is going to be. Since you've
- 0:54Speaker 4: been a training da last couple of days, go ahead, Well, yeah,
- 0:57Speaker 4: to pick one today.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's very very easily. Spencer Rattler
- 1:01Speaker 3: right now, he looks a lot better so far in
- 1:05Speaker 3: this camp. You know, it's early, like there's a lot
- 1:07Speaker 3: of days left. We'll see how it goes from here.
- 1:10Speaker 3: But he looks like a guy that's been in the
- 1:12Speaker 3: league for a year. And Shuck looks like a guy that's,
- 1:13Speaker 3: you know, trying to swim his way to shore a
- 1:15Speaker 3: little bit right now. I think sometimes you know, maybe
- 1:18Speaker 3: maybe things are still happening faster him. He's still kind
- 1:21Speaker 3: of processing. Yeah, I think we see the impact a
- 1:24Speaker 3: little bit of not doing any team girls at all.
- 1:27Speaker 3: They'reing OTAs in mini camp like it at times it
- 1:30Speaker 3: looks like it's team lining up for the very first
- 1:32Speaker 3: time with an offensive line on the field and all
- 1:35Speaker 3: that stuff, and you know, there's some operation theres, there's
- 1:38Speaker 3: false starts, there's you know, it's just kind of sloppy
- 1:40Speaker 3: right now overall. But Rattler's definitely, you know, looking better.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I think part of the distance between the two is
- 1:48Speaker 3: more that, like he hasn't really gotten any punches thrown
- 1:51Speaker 3: back at him yet. It's not like he's done perfect either,
- 1:53Speaker 3: But I think Rattler's comfortably leading right now.
- 1:56Speaker 4: So like when you see Spencer out there, and we
- 1:59Speaker 4: were talking about this yesterday, Nick, like, does he make
- 2:02Speaker 4: plays that make you kind of think, oh, yeah, At
- 2:05Speaker 4: one point we talked about him as a sure fire
- 2:09Speaker 4: first round pick, Like, are those the kind of plays
- 2:11Speaker 4: that you're talking about? Like, do you see those type
- 2:12Speaker 4: of throws from him here in year number two?
- 2:16Speaker 3: There's some of that, I mean yeah. I mean even
- 2:18Speaker 3: last year when he was starting some of those games,
- 2:20Speaker 3: it was like, oh, yeah, this is the guy that
- 2:21Speaker 3: threw for like four hundred and maybe three yards in
- 2:23Speaker 3: a game one time in college. Like you know, like
- 2:26Speaker 3: you see that for sure. But then there's there's the
- 2:29Speaker 3: things where like he just miss reads like the depth
- 2:32Speaker 3: on a throw into the in zone and gets like
- 2:34Speaker 3: picked off by a thrown a short twice and you know,
- 2:36Speaker 3: three days, and you know, there's just some throws that
- 2:38Speaker 3: get missed. But there's definitely the talent there. I mean,
- 2:42Speaker 3: like he has elite arm talent. I think, like, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 3: comparatively speaking to like all NFL quarterbacks, I think he's
- 2:50Speaker 3: up there in that that upper tier somewhere, if not
- 2:52Speaker 3: the top tier, second pier, Like he has really really
- 2:55Speaker 3: good arm talent, and you know, I think it's just
- 2:57Speaker 3: sometimes the processing and stuff isn't quite all the way there,
- 3:00Speaker 3: and I think we still see that. I feel like
- 3:02Speaker 3: it's kind of the same guy where it's where it's
- 3:05Speaker 3: you know, one day you're like, oh my god, like
- 3:07Speaker 3: he looks unbelievable, he's ten for ten, and then the
- 3:10Speaker 3: next day he comes back and he can't pick up
- 3:11Speaker 3: the momentum and that's that's kind of what it was
- 3:13Speaker 3: last year, first half, second half of games, and you
- 3:16Speaker 3: know it's kind of he's seen stuff great and then
- 3:18Speaker 3: all of a sudden, like something just happens in it
- 3:19Speaker 3: and it doesn't keep going if he can build some
- 3:22Speaker 3: momentum like anytime though, like the first half of the
- 3:25Speaker 3: first game he ever played, like, I was like, oh
- 3:27Speaker 3: my god, they found their quarterback, and then you know,
- 3:29Speaker 3: it falls apart. And then he goes in the second
- 3:31Speaker 3: half of the Washington game after Hater and almost brings
- 3:33Speaker 3: him back, and that get like it's just like if
- 3:36Speaker 3: he could manage to put it all together, but like
- 3:37Speaker 3: it just hasn't been able to happen yet. But I mean,
- 3:40Speaker 3: I don't think like just in a pure talent standpoint,
- 3:44Speaker 3: like I don't know that it's like lacking. It's just
- 3:46Speaker 3: kind of like the cohesion of all that and like
- 3:49Speaker 3: the consistency, you know, isn't quite there. But you know,
- 3:53Speaker 3: there's a reality where he becomes a good player. I
- 3:55Speaker 3: don't know if we're we're knocking on that door yet.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I don't know if the other thirty one on teams
- 4:00Speaker 3: are looking at the things and saying like, oh man,
- 4:02Speaker 3: I wish this guy was my starter. But you know
- 4:05Speaker 3: there's moments there for sure, Nick, I.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Was gonna follow up the football question here. I got
- 4:10Speaker 6: to ask, though, are you on a landline right now?
- 4:12Speaker 6: Do you just hit a number with your cheek?
- 4:17Speaker 3: I did not know.
- 4:18Speaker 7: So we heard.
- 4:19Speaker 4: We heard, like you know back in the day, like
- 4:21Speaker 4: when you hit a button while you're on the phone.
- 4:22Speaker 4: We heard that, and I was hoping so badly that
- 4:25Speaker 4: you were on a landline.
- 4:26Speaker 7: Oh man, I don't think.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I don't think I've had a landline two thousand and eight, Like.
- 4:34Speaker 5: That was going to be the unique part of it.
- 4:36Speaker 7: I know, the tone of the beep, I think it
- 4:39Speaker 7: was five again.
- 4:44Speaker 3: It's crazy you say that, because like there really was
- 4:46Speaker 3: a time where you could like hear the difference in
- 4:48Speaker 3: the number.
- 4:48Speaker 7: No doubt, there's no doubt.
- 4:50Speaker 6: If we were first sure you said that, we all
- 4:52Speaker 6: kind of like looked around when that when we heard
- 4:54Speaker 6: the noise.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Okay, So I wish.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I wish I could be that big of a hurdle
- 4:58Speaker 3: where I was like, yeah, I take my this.
- 5:02Speaker 7: Is I'm on line three right now. It's good.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it's so funny you say that like that there's
- 5:10Speaker 6: a clear difference now that training camp started, because like
- 5:14Speaker 6: the entire off season OTA's mini camp, it's like, well,
- 5:17Speaker 6: these guys are both doing good things, they both look
- 5:20Speaker 6: good their neck and neck like Spencer makes a play,
- 5:22Speaker 6: Shot makes a play, blah blah blah.
- 5:24Speaker 7: But it's the.
- 5:25Speaker 6: Difference between off season practices, which is like you know,
- 5:29Speaker 6: glorified seven on seven's and just kind of hanging out
- 5:31Speaker 6: with your buddies playing catch, right, and then you get
- 5:34Speaker 6: into training camp and it's like the pressures on, we
- 5:36Speaker 6: got the pads on, everything is hot. They're making everything hard,
- 5:39Speaker 6: and that's especially the first two weeks of training camp.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Like it is meant, it is designed to make life
- 5:45Speaker 6: hard on everybody. Like practices right now harder than a
- 5:48Speaker 6: game will ever be, and especially from a quarterbacks perspective.
- 5:52Speaker 6: So like when you say you can tell that there's
- 5:54Speaker 6: a rookie, you can tell there's a guy that's been
- 5:56Speaker 6: there for a year, it's because coaches are making it.
- 6:00Speaker 7: Hard on these guys.
- 6:01Speaker 6: They're making it hard on the on the reads that
- 6:03Speaker 6: they're making, they're getting installs and defensive thone that every
- 6:07Speaker 6: single day. But have you seen those moments we just
- 6:10Speaker 6: asked about the moments from from Rattler. Have you seen
- 6:12Speaker 6: the moments from Chuck that it's like, okay, man, he's struggling,
- 6:16Speaker 6: like overall, maybe not struggles the word, but he's not
- 6:18Speaker 6: looking as good overall. But like, man, there's some flashes
- 6:22Speaker 6: where I can see this guy. Has I get what
- 6:25Speaker 6: they saw and drafted him in the second round.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no doubt. I mean there's definitely some throws
- 6:30Speaker 3: like he hit one the Juwan Josh like a really
- 6:33Speaker 3: nice read over the throws with kind of anticipation, kind
- 6:36Speaker 3: of like you know before he's coming out of the break,
- 6:39Speaker 3: like ball just delivers right the perfect like he he's
- 6:41Speaker 3: hit a couple of them. Throws at that are just
- 6:43Speaker 3: like man, this is this Like this is special, Like
- 6:46Speaker 3: that's that's a really good moment. It's just he looks
- 6:48Speaker 3: like a guy on the fifth day camp. And I think,
- 6:51Speaker 3: you know, when we're out here every day looking at
- 6:53Speaker 3: it day by day by day, like you kind of
- 6:55Speaker 3: analyze every day like it's the super Bowl, because like
- 6:57Speaker 3: you've been waiting for six months to see these guys
- 6:59Speaker 3: and you're breaking down every single little thing. And you know,
- 7:02Speaker 3: last year, I remember, like it was probably practice nine,
- 7:06Speaker 3: practice ten, like where we left the field and it
- 7:08Speaker 3: was kind of like is Spencer Ratler good like cause
- 7:12Speaker 3: you aren't really seeing it, like and then something just
- 7:14Speaker 3: kind of clicked for him and it was like, wait
- 7:16Speaker 3: a minute, Like this guy can act like he's he's good,
- 7:19Speaker 3: but up until then it was kind of like, you know,
- 7:21Speaker 3: j Caner is better than him. They got this sits around,
- 7:23Speaker 3: pick out, here's a couple of throws here and there,
- 7:25Speaker 3: but you know, no big deal, nothing really we're talking about.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And then it changes. So by no means am I
- 7:30Speaker 3: ready to close the book on him. I think there's
- 7:32Speaker 3: probably gonna come a moment where all of a sudden
- 7:36Speaker 3: something starts to click in the place and it starts
- 7:38Speaker 3: to slow down, and it starts to slow down a
- 7:40Speaker 3: little bit more. I think the one thing that like
- 7:42Speaker 3: maybe worries me a little bit more than anything else
- 7:45Speaker 3: is that sometimes it's seven on sevens, like he he
- 7:47Speaker 3: just has a pensiont for like holding the ball and
- 7:49Speaker 3: it's not coming out, and it's like damn, like this
- 7:51Speaker 3: should probably be happening at least on rhythm every single time,
- 7:54Speaker 3: and it's kind of not. So I just think there's
- 7:57Speaker 3: a lot of like processing going on. I think you
- 8:00Speaker 3: can kind of see him thinking, like you know, and
- 8:03Speaker 3: I think in any field, like what we do, like
- 8:05Speaker 3: when you're new to it, you watch somebody that's nuance TV,
- 8:08Speaker 3: Like you can see him thinking about their words next
- 8:10Speaker 3: to the guy that's been doing it for a year
- 8:12Speaker 3: that he's just talking. And like, I think that's kind
- 8:14Speaker 3: of what it looks like out you're watching them right now,
- 8:16Speaker 3: is like you just see a lot of thinking and
- 8:18Speaker 3: another guy's just kind of playing. And I think at
- 8:21Speaker 3: some point it's going to turn for him.
- 8:22Speaker 7: Let's talk about the like the coaching style.
- 8:24Speaker 6: So we got a new coach of staff, but along
- 8:26Speaker 6: with the quarterbacks, let's stop talking about their play. Let's
- 8:28Speaker 6: talk about the coaches like coaching style, this new staff,
- 8:31Speaker 6: how Tolzane Nussmyer, Kellen Moore, how they all are communicating
- 8:37Speaker 6: with the quarterbacks? Are they are they all talking to them?
- 8:39Speaker 6: As Kellen kind of hands on with the coaching aspect
- 8:43Speaker 6: in between plays, in between periods?
- 8:45Speaker 7: Are they are they? Are they yellers? Are they nice? Like?
- 8:48Speaker 6: Like what kind of like feel are you getting from
- 8:50Speaker 6: this new coaching staff.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's like culture shock being out here, honestly,
- 8:54Speaker 3: because I mean for about the last twenty years, even
- 8:57Speaker 3: though actually there was a new offensive staff, it was
- 8:59Speaker 3: still coming in under the same DNA, And I mean
- 9:03Speaker 3: just everything's just weird right now. Like it was almost
- 9:06Speaker 3: like there was a sarcadian rhythm to these practices, like
- 9:09Speaker 3: where it was like this is gonna happen now, they're
- 9:11Speaker 3: going to do red zone on this day, They're gonna
- 9:12Speaker 3: do this, and it's it's completely different, you know, as
- 9:15Speaker 3: far as coaching style, Yeah, Kellen's around the offense quite
- 9:18Speaker 3: a bit. Not a lot of yelling, you know. I
- 9:21Speaker 3: don't even know that I've heard a voice raised any
- 9:23Speaker 3: anywhere yet. But you see the corrections happening immediately in
- 9:27Speaker 3: real time. Somebody screws up the coming off the field,
- 9:30Speaker 3: like there's a consequence for having, you know, a false start,
- 9:33Speaker 3: lining up wrong, whatever it is. And I like seeing that.
- 9:36Speaker 3: And it's kind of wild to say this, but like
- 9:38Speaker 3: the last three years, we didn't see stuff like that happening.
- 9:41Speaker 3: We didn't see the laps happening after somebody jumped off sides.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I don't even know that we saw corrections happening when
- 9:47Speaker 3: there was like a false start on offense. We heard
- 9:50Speaker 3: players talking about how they didn't correct those things after
- 9:53Speaker 3: the fact and that was a frustrating thing for them.
- 9:55Speaker 3: So like even seeing something like that, just basic, rudimentary,
- 10:00Speaker 3: fundamental responsibility consequence, all that is great to see. On
- 10:05Speaker 3: a more macro level, the schedule is kind of blowing
- 10:08Speaker 3: my mind a little bit. Like they don't practice five
- 10:11Speaker 3: days in a row, like they go two day off,
- 10:13Speaker 3: two day off, two day off, or like two special
- 10:16Speaker 3: teams walk through two that's way different. They practiced the
- 10:20Speaker 3: last two days. Yesterday's the special teams walk through slash install,
- 10:24Speaker 3: so they're gonna be on the field for about forty
- 10:27Speaker 3: five minutes today only the guys that are on special teams,
- 10:29Speaker 3: and then back on it tomorrow. We got the day
- 10:31Speaker 3: five of camp and just saw the first injury happen.
- 10:34Speaker 3: So at least on that level, it's working. I don't know,
- 10:37Speaker 3: you know, I guess we'll see overall with the balances
- 10:40Speaker 3: on maybe you know, some last days of work versus
- 10:44Speaker 3: you know, going full four five days in a row.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I think it's one of those things where if they
- 10:48Speaker 3: win ten games, it's brilliant, and if they win five,
- 10:51Speaker 3: everyone's like, man, they probably should have practiced a little
- 10:53Speaker 3: bit more. It's you know, but I think not having
- 10:56Speaker 3: guys popping hamstrings is probably overall a good thing. So
- 11:00Speaker 3: that that's been way, way different. But I mean, yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 3: I mean everything, everything just feels completely different. Everything's incredibly
- 11:08Speaker 3: thought out and planned, and you know, it just kind
- 11:11Speaker 3: of maybe feels a little bit like a younger, newer
- 11:15Speaker 3: way of thinking, whereas you know, everything was kind of
- 11:18Speaker 3: eighties parcels this around here for a while and there's
- 11:21Speaker 3: nothing wrong without it. It works, but it's just a
- 11:23Speaker 3: completely different way of looking at things. I think everything's
- 11:26Speaker 3: very data driven, study, you know, analyzed, thought out, planned,
- 11:31Speaker 3: you know, just even thinking about you know, little stuff
- 11:34Speaker 3: like we're gonna do red zone on day two because
- 11:36Speaker 3: we went at full field the day before, because we've
- 11:39Speaker 3: studied that if you exert your muscles this much and
- 11:42Speaker 3: you're running straight line like these are when injuries occur.
- 11:45Speaker 3: So we're just gonna cut down the field so nobody
- 11:47Speaker 3: can run forty yards at a time Like That's that's
- 11:50Speaker 3: kind of, you know, it's next level like thinking. If
- 11:52Speaker 3: they're thinking about everything like that, at least gives you
- 11:54Speaker 3: a little bit of hope that they're going to figure
- 11:56Speaker 3: this thing out. I don't have high hopes for you know,
- 11:58Speaker 3: the wind total in year one, but I do have
- 12:00Speaker 3: high helps for the process and how they're doing things
- 12:03Speaker 3: right now because.
- 12:05Speaker 5: You know where they got.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Nick Underhill talking New Orleans Saints here on otb uh Nick.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Obviously you've heard about the ESPN article that the Saints
- 12:12Speaker 4: got the thirty second ranked roster in the NFL.
- 12:14Speaker 5: We all know there's thirty two teams. They were dead last.
- 12:17Speaker 4: When you're watching that team and you've watched the Saints
- 12:19Speaker 4: for a couple of years, Like, do you think that
- 12:22Speaker 4: as factual they have the worst roster in the NFL?
- 12:25Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not seeing the other thirty one, so like,
- 12:28Speaker 3: I don't know if they're worse than the Browns or
- 12:29Speaker 3: the Titans or whatever. I know they're definitely they definitely
- 12:32Speaker 3: look worse than they did, you know, last year. You know,
- 12:35Speaker 3: you get into a training camp and Derek Carr's not
- 12:37Speaker 3: facing a past rush. He looks amazing, like he's always
- 12:40Speaker 3: looked great when things are perfect, because you know, things
- 12:42Speaker 3: get messy, he doesn't look as good. But you know, definitely, definitely,
- 12:48Speaker 3: look if I was if I was somebody sitting up
- 12:49Speaker 3: in Bristol, Connecticut, and I was looking at all thirty
- 12:51Speaker 3: two teams and there's one team that does not have
- 12:54Speaker 3: a single quarterback win on their roster. Well, I guess
- 12:58Speaker 3: they got a few, but he's a tight end now.
- 13:00Speaker 3: But if you have a guy that's never never won
- 13:02Speaker 3: a game, I don't know how you rank him above
- 13:04Speaker 3: anybody else. Like, is Spencer Ratler slash Tyler shuck better
- 13:10Speaker 3: than what the Browns have? A quarterback could be better
- 13:12Speaker 3: than you know, Anthony Richardson, could it be?
- 13:15Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 13:15Speaker 3: Sure, But like I get it from that point, I
- 13:19Speaker 3: don't know if they're gonna be the worst team in
- 13:20Speaker 3: the league, But I don't know that. You know, I'm
- 13:22Speaker 3: looking at them to contend in the NFC South either,
- 13:26Speaker 3: So you know, I don't know. I think right now
- 13:28Speaker 3: where it sits like, it's probably not looking extremely promising
- 13:32Speaker 3: for a twenty five run. I think there's a couple
- 13:35Speaker 3: of bright spots. There's a couple of things that I
- 13:37Speaker 3: feel better about right now. You know, I don't think
- 13:40Speaker 3: Tarvor Penning is going to be a disaster. Kelvin Banks
- 13:42Speaker 3: has been impressive. I think Chase Young looks better and
- 13:47Speaker 3: just sounds and feels more confident. You know, Fuaga has
- 13:51Speaker 3: been a little up and down. I think you see
- 13:53Speaker 3: that transition happening back, but he's looks okay. There's a
- 13:56Speaker 3: few things that I think that you feel positive about.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Shaheed has looked amazing out here. So I think this
- 14:01Speaker 3: season's more about funding guys that you're I think Bully's
- 14:04Speaker 3: look pretty good too. I think this season is really
- 14:07Speaker 3: more about funding guys you're building around. And if you
- 14:10Speaker 3: feel positive about some pieces going into the future, and
- 14:13Speaker 3: you happen to be drafting first or second, that'd be amazing. Now,
- 14:17Speaker 3: you could be drafted first or second and feel terrible
- 14:19Speaker 3: about your team and that would not.
- 14:20Speaker 7: Be as good.
- 14:21Speaker 3: But like, look at the Patriots, like they probably had
- 14:24Speaker 3: you know, they absolutely have one of the worst teams
- 14:26Speaker 3: in the league last year, but I think their optimism
- 14:28Speaker 3: level is incredibly high right now. And if you can
- 14:31Speaker 3: leave that season feel in that way about this team,
- 14:34Speaker 3: Like I don't know who cares, but you know, I
- 14:36Speaker 3: really think this season's about finding the signs of hope,
- 14:39Speaker 3: you know, pieces to build around, building blacks. If your
- 14:41Speaker 3: offensive line has that like real identity and you're picking
- 14:45Speaker 3: second or third, like I would I would actually like that.
- 14:48Speaker 6: Outcome for the same all right, Nick, So let's get
- 14:51Speaker 6: like you started getting a little bit more positive there
- 14:54Speaker 6: at the end. But you know, like the real Wolf
- 14:56Speaker 6: of Wall Street, he has like the saying like, sell
- 14:58Speaker 6: me this pencil. I want Nick Underhill to sell me
- 15:02Speaker 6: the Saints right now in twenty five.
- 15:05Speaker 7: Paint something positive, all right.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I mean you know, I can't tell you just the
- 15:10Speaker 3: write a sentence, but you know, like, do you have
- 15:12Speaker 3: anybody spending in front of you right now?
- 15:16Speaker 7: Yep?
- 15:16Speaker 3: No, dude, I mean you have an up like like
- 15:19Speaker 3: you know, I think I think they can pluck like
- 15:21Speaker 3: tell tell uh tell sharp to attacks. You don't got
- 15:24Speaker 3: no one to jump in front of you got a
- 15:25Speaker 3: fullback back there, but he's not in his prime anymore,
- 15:27Speaker 3: so he's not gonna pick up the books. But you know,
- 15:30Speaker 3: I think they have a I think they have a
- 15:32Speaker 3: good line and and I think if you have that
- 15:35Speaker 3: and you can build around that, I think the future
- 15:37Speaker 3: is okay. Maybe you have the quarterback. Maybe you don't.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Your running back's about to be thirty, Like that's not
- 15:42Speaker 3: long term. But I think if you have that line,
- 15:45Speaker 3: I think you have something. And I think banks is
- 15:48Speaker 3: gonna be good. We know fulagas at least like a
- 15:51Speaker 3: good starter. This seeling might be higher on him. Punting
- 15:54Speaker 3: looks tinting, looks like an absolute like the very first
- 15:57Speaker 3: time they did one on ones last year, Like I
- 16:00Speaker 3: sitting there, I'm like, they cannot play this guy. And
- 16:02Speaker 3: obviously they got in the games and he looked okay,
- 16:04Speaker 3: and they had a plan for him him doing like
- 16:06Speaker 3: one on ones and guard. He won some reps like
- 16:09Speaker 3: he looked okay. I didn't walk away from it feeling
- 16:12Speaker 3: bad about him. We've seen him get out in space
- 16:14Speaker 3: and do great stuff in the in the run game
- 16:17Speaker 3: is padless, but like just seeing him down the fields
- 16:19Speaker 3: like a force, like I think he could be an
- 16:22Speaker 3: elite run blocker. So if your line is good, I'm
- 16:26Speaker 3: okay with anything else being terrible, because I think you
- 16:29Speaker 3: have an identity and you have high investment piece pieces
- 16:32Speaker 3: yielding a real return and you can build around that.
- 16:35Speaker 3: And if you've got to go find another quarterback, well,
- 16:37Speaker 3: he's starting out with good protection and you're gonna be
- 16:40Speaker 3: able to accentuate his positives and put him in a
- 16:42Speaker 3: position to succeed. So you know, I feel confident about
- 16:46Speaker 3: that line right now. I mean we've only seen one
- 16:48Speaker 3: padded practice. I'm probably jumping the gun a little bit,
- 16:51Speaker 3: but I mean, man, did you see Kelvin Banks just
- 16:53Speaker 3: pancake Chris Rump? Yes, Like the clip that was out there,
- 16:56Speaker 3: like that was crazy and he looks good. So I
- 17:00Speaker 3: I feel good about that. I think there's a lot
- 17:02Speaker 3: of questions everywhere else, but I think there's there's real
- 17:06Speaker 3: building blocks on that offensive line.
- 17:08Speaker 4: All right, last one, Nick before we let you go,
- 17:11Speaker 4: because I agree I'm intrigued by the offensive line. Like
- 17:14Speaker 4: what about some of the other players that we've been
- 17:16Speaker 4: waiting to see, Like what kind of step they can take?
- 17:18Speaker 4: You're Kendre Miller's, You're Brian Brazie, your kool A mckinsrey.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Like of that group, Isaiah Foski maybe even right. I
- 17:26Speaker 4: mean you couldn't find him, as Dev would say, with
- 17:28Speaker 4: a search warrant, throughout his career so far.
- 17:30Speaker 5: But like, what have you seen from those players?
- 17:33Speaker 4: Like can you count on some of those draft choices
- 17:35Speaker 4: that you've had because you're drafting the first, second, third round,
- 17:38Speaker 4: you're expected to be a starter.
- 17:39Speaker 5: What have you seen from that group?
- 17:42Speaker 3: I feel like we've seen some good plays from from
- 17:44Speaker 3: Kloyd hasn't been challenged a ton, but he's shown up
- 17:49Speaker 3: a few times. He's flashed. I like some of the
- 17:52Speaker 3: stuff he does, just as far as like attitude wise too,
- 17:54Speaker 3: Like I think he's bringing some of the the energy
- 17:57Speaker 3: back to the field that I think they need that
- 17:58Speaker 3: big time on dec Like when are running back, you know,
- 18:01Speaker 3: they'll get tagged down and they'll try to continue running
- 18:04Speaker 3: to the bend zone. Like Cooley's the guy that chases
- 18:07Speaker 3: them down and punches them ball out, And I think
- 18:08Speaker 3: they need some of that energy on their defense defense,
- 18:11Speaker 3: and and he's bringing it. Brazi's looked okay, Like I
- 18:15Speaker 3: think he's I want to believe we've seen some steps
- 18:19Speaker 3: forward in the run game. I've seen him stop a
- 18:21Speaker 3: couple of runs a few times. They have been against Kenning,
- 18:24Speaker 3: And you know, I don't know what the calculus there
- 18:27Speaker 3: is of of is it braz getting better, is it
- 18:29Speaker 3: Kenning still figuring things out? Is it a little bit
- 18:31Speaker 3: of both? So what we'll kind of see how that
- 18:33Speaker 3: comes back. I think he's the guy that that is
- 18:36Speaker 3: really interesting though, because like if he does take the
- 18:38Speaker 3: next step there, like he he could potentially become another
- 18:40Speaker 3: one of those like huge building blocks, and he probably
- 18:43Speaker 3: doesn't get talked enough. Like seven and a half stack, sure,
- 18:46Speaker 3: defensive interior player is a crazy number. Like if the
- 18:48Speaker 3: run game just gets to like okay, I think you
- 18:52Speaker 3: have a guy that that you can build around it
- 18:53Speaker 3: at that position. And I like how they're they're using them,
- 18:57Speaker 3: you know, as a as a three four end like
- 18:59Speaker 3: kind of getting him in some of those like more
- 19:01Speaker 3: favorable matchups where he can use some of his strength.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Like I think it shows up a little bit. You
- 19:06Speaker 3: know the other guy that we haven't mentioned at all,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and you know he's not a young draft pick guy,
- 19:11Speaker 3: but but Godshaw is just that, Like he is incredibly
- 19:17Speaker 3: incredibly strong, Like he just engulfs people and just eats
- 19:21Speaker 3: him up on that on that line, and I think
- 19:23Speaker 3: that's going to allow your linebackers to flow and make place.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Danny Stutsman has been a beneficiary of some of that,
- 19:29Speaker 3: but like even independently, the way he sees the field
- 19:32Speaker 3: and like reads and reacts and attacks and then he's
- 19:35Speaker 3: looked good in space too. He had to pick u
- 19:39Speaker 3: in one of the practices. He's gotten down the field
- 19:41Speaker 3: and covers a few times. I'm like really encouraged about him.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I don't know how he gets on the field right away,
- 19:47Speaker 3: but I like he's quickly like starting to make a
- 19:49Speaker 3: case for like you kind of got to find a
- 19:51Speaker 3: way to play him a little bit. So he could
- 19:53Speaker 3: be a building black coming behind the Mario too, So
- 19:56Speaker 3: there's some there's some glimmers of hope here. I think
- 19:58Speaker 3: Alante has looked really good in the scheme too. But
- 20:00Speaker 3: you know, he's in the contract here, and if I
- 20:03Speaker 3: were in i'd probably bet on myself play the season
- 20:05Speaker 3: out and try to see what the market looks like.
- 20:08Speaker 3: So I don't know like how that doctors in long term,
- 20:10Speaker 3: but I think it's agreeing with him quite a bit,
- 20:13Speaker 3: like they're getting him in that dynamic role out of
- 20:15Speaker 3: the spot blitzen a lot. Like he looks good. He's
- 20:18Speaker 3: flashing every day, all right.
- 20:20Speaker 2: There.
- 20:20Speaker 4: He is our guy, Nick Underhill, New Orleans Dot Football.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Nick.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I will be in Metorie tomorrow. Hopefully I can run
- 20:27Speaker 4: into you say hello. Looking forward to that, and we
- 20:29Speaker 4: always appreciate the time, sir.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Yeah, bring a sweat towel, man, It's it's brutal out here.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Oh love to hear that. Thanks for that. I appreciate
- 20:36Speaker 5: that makes sense.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah, oh man, Nick is the best truly, I mean
- 20:42Speaker 4: their every day boots in the ground, great reporting as always,
- 20:45Speaker 4: and yeah, I'm gonna take some of that by high.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I know I need multiple actually because I have, like
- 20:52Speaker 4: I usually keep like five my back one. Thank you
- 20:54Speaker 4: you're too kind. I usually put five on that mask back.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Oh that's the first one you've ever given me five
- 20:59Speaker 4: my back pack. But like at SEC media days, I
- 21:02Speaker 4: was doing better marketing than you were because I was
- 21:05Speaker 4: passing it out to people. I actually got a picture
- 21:07Speaker 4: of the A and M linebacker. So I'm basically a
- 21:12Speaker 4: better marketing person for my high than you are.
- 21:14Speaker 7: Oh if they did go last.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Give me one, ah my high not even in zero.
- 21:22Speaker 7: To buddy, I stole that.
- 21:25Speaker 8: So I think I should be hired for my high too.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Because I was sitting at lunch with some coworkers yesterday
- 21:32Speaker 2: and one of them was like, oh, I went and
- 21:35Speaker 2: I like edged my yard or whatever, and I came
- 21:38Speaker 2: inside and I needed like a liquid IV or something,
- 21:41Speaker 2: and I was like, no, no, no, no, you don't need
- 21:43Speaker 2: a liquid IV.
- 21:43Speaker 8: You need my High.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I was like, I've tried every electrolyte mix drink in
- 21:49Speaker 2: the market. Liquid IV's all sugar element way too much
- 21:53Speaker 2: sodium in it. I was like, you need my High
- 21:56Speaker 2: and he was like, well, where can I find it?
- 21:58Speaker 8: I'm serious.
- 21:58Speaker 2: This is a real conversation and I had yesterday. I
- 22:01Speaker 2: was like, you can find it at rouses or on Amazon.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I was like, also, you can go to my High
- 22:07Speaker 2: dot com and you can subscribe and they'll send you
- 22:09Speaker 2: some every month.
- 22:11Speaker 7: That's right there. You got it all down.
- 22:13Speaker 8: Please sales pitching my High to these.
- 22:16Speaker 7: People go a laundry. Let's go. Yeah. People always say
- 22:20Speaker 7: we should get it.
- 22:20Speaker 6: Well, it's like you know the internet, Yeah, we get
- 22:24Speaker 6: everything right or Roses.
- 22:26Speaker 8: Or Rouses go checking it out. They even got the
- 22:30Speaker 8: ice pets.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Don't drink that all one time, but one.
- 22:34Speaker 4: I'm going down to the Devil's Layer for training camp,
- 22:37Speaker 4: and this gives me.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Don't drink it all in one place. Don't drink it
- 22:43Speaker 7: all in one place. That's exactly right.
- 22:45Speaker 8: He had to rip open a pack yesterday.
- 22:47Speaker 7: Play your cards right, might get another one.
- 22:50Speaker 8: I'm gonna steal some after the show.
- 22:52Speaker 5: Yeah, you're a bum.
- 22:53Speaker 7: This box.
- 22:53Speaker 4: There's a lot emptier, and it used to be because
- 22:56Speaker 4: you don't give us any from there.
- 22:58Speaker 5: You have taken more than for Yeah, you should, y'all
- 23:02Speaker 5: should book.
- 23:04Speaker 8: Can I make a request the zero you want zero?
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:08Speaker 8: The ice berry? Is it Iceberry Blast or something like that?
- 23:11Speaker 7: All right, I'll bring a card.
- 23:12Speaker 8: That's my favorite one.
- 23:13Speaker 6: It's solid strong to quite strong. Oh and it's actually
- 23:18Speaker 6: a drink mix that's actually.
- 23:20Speaker 2: It's actually liquid. I said that too. I was like,
- 23:22Speaker 2: and it's actually a liquid.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Liquid blank blank out loud. Because I'm so loyal to
- 23:29Speaker 4: this guy and he gives me one.
- 23:30Speaker 8: All right, my bad, I said two of them, I said.
- 23:34Speaker 7: Got a shot at another.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Yeah, oh, thank you. All right, we'll take a break. Uh.
- 23:40Speaker 4: We got some reaction to what Nick said. Alone just
- 23:43Speaker 4: got a great story. If you play for the Guardians
- 23:45Speaker 4: and uh you put a couple of dollar hairs down
- 23:47Speaker 4: on yourself or a bet against you, like, it's probably
- 23:49Speaker 4: not a great idea. Uh, We've got all that coming
- 23:52Speaker 4: your way when we jump back here on oat off
- 23:55Speaker 4: the bench, Hey, go to g c o p net
- 23:59Speaker 4: dot com. That is Gulf Coast Office Products. They have
- 24:01Speaker 4: so many different things they can help you out with.
- 24:04Speaker 4: And you know in your industry, law firm, engineering firm, schools, universities, banks,
- 24:11Speaker 4: hospitals certainly, like we are talking to you, like if
- 24:14Speaker 4: you have multiple printers, like all going to be on
- 24:17Speaker 4: that same network. And also one bill, not eighty five bills.
- 24:22Speaker 5: One bill like they can buy and everything.
- 24:24Speaker 4: And the customer service that you get, I mean, because look,
- 24:27Speaker 4: they're a big business New Orleans Baton Rouge, Mandebil, Lafyette,
- 24:30Speaker 4: but you get like.
- 24:31Speaker 5: These small like shop, mom and pop kind.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Of customer service. Right, So it's the best of both worlds.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Like when you call them, you're getting a human being,
- 24:40Speaker 4: You're not getting a robot.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Go to the website today, gcop net dot com.
- 24:44Speaker 6: Yeah, they are the undisputed leader in Louisiana for copyers
- 24:47Speaker 6: or printers. So if you they are the leading source
- 24:49Speaker 6: for multifunction office of machaines at copy scam, print facts,
- 24:53Speaker 6: move documents, whatever it is.
- 24:54Speaker 7: Gcopnet dot com.
- 24:56Speaker 9: Oh, she's a little story. I got to tell about
- 24:59Speaker 9: three bets brothers, you know so well.
- 25:01Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 25:03Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 25:07Speaker 9: Had a little horty names Paul Revered just being my
- 25:10Speaker 9: horsey in a court up there's across the lens kicking
- 25:14Speaker 9: up stairs.
- 25:14Speaker 8: Shut bunches on my tails. Put them in demand, one lonely.
- 25:18Speaker 9: Beast ip all by myself, a thousand no blots. The
- 25:22Speaker 9: sun is beating down on my baseball high the looking
- 25:28Speaker 9: for the throats.
- 25:29Speaker 8: I ran into a guy his name as MC.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I said how he said, Hi, all right, welcome back
- 25:34Speaker 4: ging OTV one of four five ESPN baton rouge any
- 25:38Speaker 4: thoughts on anything that Nick Underhill said. It did feel
- 25:42Speaker 4: like it was pretty adamant to me that Spencer Rattler
- 25:46Speaker 4: is fully in the lead in the quarterback competition. I
- 25:50Speaker 4: know a lot of people are like, well, you drafted
- 25:51Speaker 4: Tyler Shuck in the second round. You get him guaranteed money,
- 25:54Speaker 4: He's going to be the guy they love Spencer Rattler.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Like like that's why, Like we weren't sure if they
- 26:01Speaker 4: were going to draft a quarterback. And again, like when
- 26:04Speaker 4: you draft a second round player, yeah, for sure you
- 26:06Speaker 4: want him to be a starter. But if the fifth
- 26:09Speaker 4: round pick is holding him off, and the fifth round
- 26:11Speaker 4: pick who once in his career was talked about to
- 26:14Speaker 4: be maybe a first round pick, maybe the first quarterback
- 26:16Speaker 4: off the board, Like you just want one of the
- 26:20Speaker 4: guys to work out, Like I would not get hung
- 26:22Speaker 4: up on the fact that the second round pick's not playing.
- 26:25Speaker 4: I think you just need one of the guys to
- 26:27Speaker 4: go win the job. And because he played so well
- 26:30Speaker 4: is why he won the job, not because he's the
- 26:33Speaker 4: you know, the best of the bad options.
- 26:36Speaker 6: I mean, I think, now what five days in the camp,
- 26:40Speaker 6: Like the first week at camp is hard. It's hard
- 26:44Speaker 6: to look good, it's hard to execute. It's hard to
- 26:47Speaker 6: like like the fine motor skill stuff, so passing, catch
- 26:49Speaker 6: and kicking all that stuff, it's hard to execute that
- 26:51Speaker 6: on the first week of practice.
- 26:52Speaker 7: It just is for anybody.
- 26:53Speaker 6: I mean I saw first day or two a training
- 26:56Speaker 6: camp with the Patriots Tom Brady throw a hitch and
- 26:58Speaker 6: the over too.
- 26:59Speaker 7: I mean, it's just it's just hard. Okay, So there's
- 27:03Speaker 7: gonna be.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Moments and flashes, and those are the things you have
- 27:06Speaker 6: to look and you have to you have to watch
- 27:07Speaker 6: to see if people are making the same mistake twice.
- 27:11Speaker 7: That's a that's a big thing.
- 27:12Speaker 6: You don't want to be coaches, don't want to have
- 27:14Speaker 6: to spend too much time coaching the same.
- 27:16Speaker 7: Thing over and over and over again.
- 27:18Speaker 6: But I mean, I would say, it's kind of like
- 27:20Speaker 6: so far from what we've heard. We talked to Devin
- 27:22Speaker 6: Snow yesterday said the same thing. Nick said the same thing.
- 27:26Speaker 6: Like they said, it's not clear, but what is not
- 27:28Speaker 6: great is that they're like both they both kind of
- 27:33Speaker 6: let on like it's kind of like mid right now,
- 27:36Speaker 6: to use Devon's words yesterday, and Nick was I think
- 27:38Speaker 6: trying to be positive. He is trying to get there.
- 27:42Speaker 6: Nick kind of sounded sad, though We're not gonna lie.
- 27:45Speaker 6: Sounded a little sad on that phone call. But you know,
- 27:48Speaker 6: that's first that's first training camp. I mean even even
- 27:51Speaker 6: people that are covering the Saints get tired and hot
- 27:54Speaker 6: and sweaty, and you know, stay five, it's in a
- 27:57Speaker 6: grind right now. You're you got to get over the
- 27:59Speaker 6: hu ump. Uh you know what would you say, the
- 28:02Speaker 6: first after the first week and a half is over, you're.
- 28:04Speaker 7: Kind of over the hump?
- 28:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I mean especially the first two weeks. Definitely the first
- 28:09Speaker 6: two weeks because then you start focusing a little bit
- 28:11Speaker 6: more on the first preseason game.
- 28:12Speaker 7: But that first week, man, it's a it's a booty kicker,
- 28:17Speaker 7: for sure.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I did get excited hearing him talk about the offensive
- 28:21Speaker 4: line though, because if you are a new quarterback, a
- 28:26Speaker 4: young quarterback, and you got the bomb squad in front
- 28:29Speaker 4: of you, that is the worst case scenario. And we've
- 28:32Speaker 4: seen Spencer Ratler with the bomb squad in front of
- 28:35Speaker 4: him at South Carolina. Now, he still made a lot
- 28:37Speaker 4: of plays, and I give him a lot of credit
- 28:39Speaker 4: for that year, but there was a lot of times
- 28:41Speaker 4: he would get the ball and immediately have pressure and
- 28:44Speaker 4: he still found a way. Again, like they had some
- 28:46Speaker 4: big wins that year. I believe they beat what see
- 28:48Speaker 4: North Carolina Tennessee and that.
- 28:51Speaker 10: Year Right Carolina was that that opening game and if
- 28:54Speaker 10: you remember, he got sacked I think seven times in
- 28:59Speaker 10: that game. At the final box score, he was thirty
- 29:01Speaker 10: of thirty seven. Yeah, so like he was still really efficient.
- 29:04Speaker 10: Like to your point, and I mean we talked about
- 29:06Speaker 10: it the other day. Four first round picks on a
- 29:08Speaker 10: second round pick, this offensive line.
- 29:10Speaker 7: Better be good.
- 29:10Speaker 6: Yeah, true, Yeah, I get it. I better be your answer.
- 29:14Speaker 6: I tell you to sell me a pencil.
- 29:19Speaker 7: Yeah, he'd be.
- 29:20Speaker 6: And they'd be like you say, Clemson, I remember that
- 29:22Speaker 6: one won a few shekels on that.
- 29:23Speaker 5: One they did.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I mean, he had he had, you know, some good
- 29:27Speaker 4: times again behind a really bad offensive line. So like
- 29:30Speaker 4: to hear that it is solidified that Trevor Penning's looking
- 29:32Speaker 4: better at guard gets you excited as much as you're
- 29:36Speaker 4: going to get excited about a roster that people think
- 29:38Speaker 4: is thirty second in the NFL. Like he has to
- 29:41Speaker 4: have that, Like two things, whoever it is, has to
- 29:44Speaker 4: have I would say three, but my two main ones
- 29:47Speaker 4: protection and staying healthy at Receiveruse the backups at receiver.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Like Dev said yesterday, that ain't what you want. We
- 29:57Speaker 4: saw that last year.
- 29:58Speaker 7: Is he talking about it?
- 29:59Speaker 5: For Dante Pettis?
- 30:03Speaker 4: All right, you gotta have Chris olave Rashichihi and Brandon
- 30:07Speaker 4: Cooks out there, and if you don't, it's going to
- 30:10Speaker 4: be troublesome.
- 30:11Speaker 5: So those are my two things.
- 30:12Speaker 7: Like, honestly, it's it's the NFL.
- 30:13Speaker 6: It's a seventeen game season, Like odds are you're not
- 30:16Speaker 6: gonna have all three of those guys for seventeen weeks.
- 30:21Speaker 7: So somebody's got to step up.
- 30:22Speaker 6: I mean, those guys, those three, you have to rely
- 30:24Speaker 6: on them, You have to rely on them being healthy
- 30:25Speaker 6: for the majority. Somebody he's got to step up or
- 30:29Speaker 6: they got to build the offense around what the tight ends.
- 30:33Speaker 6: You gotta highlight tight ends, you gotta highlight your running backs.
- 30:36Speaker 6: I mean, there's ways to do it. And I do
- 30:37Speaker 6: trust Kellen Moore in his offensive creativity, like he has
- 30:40Speaker 6: been around, He's been around a really good offensive minds.
- 30:43Speaker 6: He was a good quarterback. I trust his ability to
- 30:48Speaker 6: I mean, as long as you don't like dealing like
- 30:50Speaker 6: blow after blow after blow with injury. I guess part
- 30:54Speaker 6: of the NFL is part of why offensive coordinators are
- 30:56Speaker 6: good because things do happen. You don't have the same
- 30:59Speaker 6: roster we can week out because of injuries. And even
- 31:02Speaker 6: if a guy's not injured, he might be at ninety percent,
- 31:05Speaker 6: eighty five eighty seventy five percent. You have to work
- 31:07Speaker 6: around it. But the good ones do it. But what
- 31:12Speaker 6: the most positive thing besides the phone number, he was
- 31:15Speaker 6: dialing with his cheek clearly multiple times, multiple times, like
- 31:19Speaker 6: we based on the.
- 31:21Speaker 5: He was he was he was on a landline.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Basically, yeah, for sure based on what the chat was
- 31:26Speaker 6: guessing the phone number was he dialed five to seven
- 31:30Speaker 6: nine four one three five.
- 31:33Speaker 4: And you said it five Like that might sound crazy
- 31:36Speaker 4: to a lot of feel about was like absolutely.
- 31:39Speaker 6: One hundred percent. I had another one. That child's like, yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 6: that was a seven. The next one nine, so five
- 31:45Speaker 6: seven nine three five.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll get an area code for you. Should we
- 31:48Speaker 4: call it two to five or five before since he's
- 31:50Speaker 4: in New Orleans?
- 31:51Speaker 5: Both cold call cold collection? All right, fairy enough, all right,
- 31:56Speaker 5: we'll step away when we come back.
- 31:58Speaker 4: There is a crazy kind of story coming out of
- 32:00Speaker 4: Major League Baseball. It involves gambling, it involves the artists
- 32:04Speaker 4: formally known as the Indians.
- 32:05Speaker 5: And we'll break it all down.
- 32:06Speaker 4: We'll throw it to a laundry our baseball expert here
- 32:09Speaker 4: on the show more OTB. When we jump back off
- 32:12Speaker 4: the bench, a go to Boudreauxelectrical dot com. Thank god
- 32:16Speaker 4: we had a generator here yesterday because it was great
- 32:19Speaker 4: weather power just goes out right in the middle of
- 32:22Speaker 4: the show, right, but got back on got.
- 32:24Speaker 5: On air eventually.
- 32:26Speaker 4: And that's what you can have, is that ultimate peace
- 32:28Speaker 4: of mind that even if it's not a storm, even
- 32:30Speaker 4: if it's just a rolling blackout, what like, whatever it
- 32:33Speaker 4: might be, you're gonna be okay because you got a
- 32:35Speaker 4: whole home generator. And so right now, storm season is
- 32:39Speaker 4: about to be upon us, and the Gulf of America
- 32:41Speaker 4: is heating up. But if you had that whole home generator, right,
- 32:45Speaker 4: you don't have anything to worry about. Your food's gonna
- 32:48Speaker 4: be okay, your AC is gonna be on. You're gonna
- 32:51Speaker 4: have entertainment for the kids. You're gonna have that power
- 32:53Speaker 4: in your home. BuJo Is Electrical dot Com.
- 32:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, we all know what's happening right now.
- 32:58Speaker 6: The golf's about the heat up, the hurricane season is
- 33:01Speaker 6: upon us. To get that piece of mind, be the
- 33:02Speaker 6: envy of the neighborhood when the lights go out, be
- 33:05Speaker 6: the house with the lights on.
- 33:06Speaker 7: Go to their website.
- 33:06Speaker 6: On their homepage, you can see testimonials, you can see
- 33:09Speaker 6: everything that they do.
- 33:10Speaker 7: But get that generator. Budoxelectrical dot Com.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Come from the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off
- 33:25Speaker 1: the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, and.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I like the way that they walk, all right, Welcome back,
- 33:37Speaker 4: OTV one oh four five, ESPN, Baton Rouge and let's
- 33:41Speaker 4: go it now to our girl Alandra and a great
- 33:44Speaker 4: story out of the MLB.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they got some juicy stuff going on in the
- 33:49Speaker 2: MLB right now.
- 33:50Speaker 8: So aside from the fact that Bryce.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Harper basically cussed out Rodman Bred in the locker room
- 33:57Speaker 2: for bringing up a salary cap, which, all right, we
- 34:01Speaker 2: can go into a salary cap at another time, but like,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I just don't think that you should do a salary
- 34:06Speaker 2: clap or a cap without a floor like you need.
- 34:11Speaker 8: It's just gonna end up being the same thing.
- 34:12Speaker 2: If you have a salary cap, the people that aren't
- 34:14Speaker 2: spending money still are going to spend like the minimum
- 34:17Speaker 2: amount of money.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 34:18Speaker 2: But anyways, Emmanuel Class he is on leave amid a probe,
- 34:24Speaker 2: a gambling probe.
- 34:25Speaker 4: So great, great pitcher, incredible relievers, had a lot of
- 34:29Speaker 4: big years. And you said he won the award for
- 34:31Speaker 4: best Reliever.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the Mo Rivero Award. And last so last season
- 34:37Speaker 2: in seventy four and a third innings, he threw a
- 34:40Speaker 2: point sixty one rack And that's pretty good. I mean
- 34:46Speaker 2: subs yeah, like sub zero. Yes, I would say that's
- 34:48Speaker 2: pretty good. This season and forty seven in a third innings,
- 34:53Speaker 2: Class A has a three point twenty three ERA and
- 34:57Speaker 2: has already allowed more hits this year than last year's.
- 35:00Speaker 2: So he has forty six hits on the season now
- 35:03Speaker 2: in thirty nine last year, so he's on leave.
- 35:08Speaker 8: So is Louis Ortiz, a.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Right handed pitcher for the Guardians as well. So sportsbooks
- 35:15Speaker 2: and gambling operators were alerted after a spike in Ortezes
- 35:20Speaker 2: first pitch of the bottom of the second inning against
- 35:24Speaker 2: the Mariners on June fifteenth, and then again in the
- 35:26Speaker 2: top of the third against the Cardinals on June twenty seventh.
- 35:30Speaker 8: So people were placing bets.
- 35:33Speaker 2: That the first pitch was gonna be a ball or
- 35:36Speaker 2: a hit batsman right, and they would just waste the pitch.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Like Louis Ortiz was doing the same thing, and that's
- 35:42Speaker 2: how he got caught. The same thing is happening with
- 35:44Speaker 2: Emmanuel class, So some people broke it down. In twenty
- 35:49Speaker 2: twenty four, the first pitch of the ninth inning for
- 35:53Speaker 2: Emmanuel being a waste pitch, the percentage was four point
- 35:57Speaker 2: five percent. Every other pitch is four point four percent.
- 36:00Speaker 2: So the amount of times that he would go up
- 36:02Speaker 2: there and throw a ball for the first pitch of
- 36:05Speaker 2: the ninth inning was four point five percent. This season,
- 36:09Speaker 2: first pitch of the ninth inning being a waste pitch
- 36:12Speaker 2: seventeen point five percent. There's videos I don't know Yeah,
- 36:16Speaker 2: Taylor's hold one up.
- 36:18Speaker 8: Somebody like compiled Kim reacting.
- 36:21Speaker 4: I don't know if you saw it first, like shoot
- 36:26Speaker 4: over actor every time.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah, the game at the beginning of the ninth inning
- 36:31Speaker 2: forty times this season. Yeah and again seventeen point five
- 36:35Speaker 2: percent of the time. He's throwing a waste pitch and
- 36:38Speaker 2: people are placing bets on a first pitch ball or
- 36:43Speaker 2: hits bats.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Yeah, what like, guys, let's just y'all are millionaires.
- 36:47Speaker 5: Stop doing stupid stuff.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Yeah, they're gonna take your millions away, Like you're not
- 36:52Speaker 4: gonna win, Like you're never going to trick Vegas.
- 36:56Speaker 5: You're never going to win. They've been doing this for
- 37:00Speaker 5: a long time.
- 37:01Speaker 8: We're talking about this.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Yes, what are we.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Doing unless your show Hey or the manuals the manual
- 37:08Speaker 2: needs to get an interpretator to throw one of us.
- 37:11Speaker 5: Like show Hey got away with it.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Maybe you know whatever he did or didn't do, like
- 37:15Speaker 4: he's show Okay, he's one of one. Like if he's
- 37:18Speaker 4: going to get away with it and you're not going
- 37:20Speaker 4: to get like they caught him.
- 37:22Speaker 8: Yeah he got called right.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Like whatever they were doing, but it was like so
- 37:26Speaker 4: like it didn't really matter. You're going to get you
- 37:29Speaker 4: every time.
- 37:29Speaker 10: The gambling stuff like go around the NBA like it
- 37:32Speaker 10: wasn't a Johntay Porter got banned for life last year.
- 37:35Speaker 10: We were talking earlier like there's something about Terry Roof's
- 37:38Speaker 10: here and like Terry Roofs here signed like a sixty
- 37:41Speaker 10: million dollar contract with the Charlotte Hornets.
- 37:44Speaker 7: There's something in on him right now.
- 37:46Speaker 10: That was actually in New Orleans and Biloxi because he
- 37:49Speaker 10: knows down there had like ten thousand dollars bets on
- 37:52Speaker 10: like all of his unders, and there were multiple games
- 37:56Speaker 10: where like he would pull up with an injury five
- 37:57Speaker 10: minutes in and he'd go sit down. It was like
- 38:00Speaker 10: thirteen thousand here, ten thousand here, Like, my guy, you
- 38:03Speaker 10: probably made twenty grand on that bet. You signed a
- 38:07Speaker 10: fifty million dollar contract, Like it's not even worth it
- 38:11Speaker 10: to you.
- 38:11Speaker 7: That's pennies to you, So like why are you doing it?
- 38:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 38:16Speaker 6: I need to ask questions here, like a billion Devil's advocate,
- 38:20Speaker 6: what if betters are just like write in a hand
- 38:24Speaker 6: that he's just not as accurate as.
- 38:26Speaker 8: He was accuracy.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Some of those pictures that were twenty feet yeah, but
- 38:32Speaker 4: like seventeen percent pretty big jumpers seventeen.
- 38:35Speaker 6: Seventeen per seventeen percent is not enough to like.
- 38:39Speaker 5: From four to seventeen is big.
- 38:41Speaker 6: You got some context, okay, but like, so eighty three
- 38:44Speaker 6: percent of the time people are losing their bets.
- 38:47Speaker 7: Yeah, why is that why you think he's texting people
- 38:53Speaker 7: before the game? The game? Just this game you can
- 38:57Speaker 7: pull Like I.
- 38:59Speaker 5: Was going to say, that's that he threw the first one.
- 39:02Speaker 8: Yeah, that's what I was gonna bring up too, is that.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I mean, we got Luke Holeman out of it, So
- 39:06Speaker 2: I'm not complaining, but Brad Bohannon was literally betting against
- 39:10Speaker 2: his own players and not putting.
- 39:12Speaker 7: It past anybody.
- 39:13Speaker 6: I'm just saying, seventeen percent first pitch balls in the
- 39:17Speaker 6: ninth then ain't from I'm never taking those odds.
- 39:20Speaker 8: As a better Exactly.
- 39:23Speaker 2: You're not taking those odds as better unless you know
- 39:25Speaker 2: that he's gonna go up there and.
- 39:27Speaker 8: Waste the preace.
- 39:27Speaker 10: So I don't think it's I don't think it's he
- 39:29Speaker 10: does it seventeen percent of the time. I think people
- 39:32Speaker 10: know when that seventeen percent is going to be Yeah,
- 39:35Speaker 10: what were just sighlighted?
- 39:36Speaker 7: It landed like in between the pitchers mount and.
- 39:39Speaker 10: Right like that's not that's not like a wild You're
- 39:43Speaker 10: not gonna throw it that bad. That's like the old
- 39:46Speaker 10: celebrity trying to throw out a first pitch.
- 39:48Speaker 5: And again you're talking about this one. This guy won
- 39:51Speaker 5: the Reliever of the Year.
- 39:53Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean he's like, let him throw ball.
- 39:58Speaker 7: Is he gonna get the guy out? You know?
- 39:59Speaker 5: I I mean I think right now there's uh, you know,
- 40:03Speaker 5: where there's smoke, there's fire.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Luis Ortiz is doing the same thing, and he's also
- 40:09Speaker 2: on leave, but they have like proof that he did
- 40:11Speaker 2: in they're just kind of looking into emmanual class M so.
- 40:14Speaker 6: Overly sensitive everything, which they should be. There's gambling that
- 40:18Speaker 6: they're over sensitive and the gambling stuff they're reverly sensitive
- 40:20Speaker 6: in like supplements that they take and all that. You know,
- 40:23Speaker 6: just rightfully so for everything. Yeah, so he's on paid leave,
- 40:26Speaker 6: which tells you something. They're paying him to not play
- 40:30Speaker 6: because yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Non disciplinary all right, they're saying, you know, he is,
- 40:40Speaker 2: they better we better not until it's proven otherwise like
- 40:44Speaker 2: professional sports, we better not get kishan booty because wasn't
- 40:48Speaker 2: it his fault that we can't do prop Yeah, he
- 40:53Speaker 2: was betting on himself.
- 40:54Speaker 6: Yeah, they say it all the time.
- 40:58Speaker 7: He was taking.
- 41:01Speaker 10: So he was betting on himself, not against himself. That yeah,
- 41:06Speaker 10: do we know how much how much money has been
- 41:08Speaker 10: placed on these ball belts because Emmanuel class his contracts
- 41:15Speaker 10: twenty million dollars all right, yeah, so like he doesn't
- 41:18Speaker 10: need the money.
- 41:19Speaker 5: That's great.
- 41:20Speaker 6: I bet we can find that out because they said
- 41:22Speaker 6: there was a spike. They just going to tell you
- 41:23Speaker 6: what the spike.
- 41:24Speaker 2: The articles that I've read and like everything that I've
- 41:27Speaker 2: looked at hasn't given a dollar amount.
- 41:30Speaker 8: But I'm sure it'll come out of it.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Right.
- 41:32Speaker 2: It's I mean, like shot show his entire bank account
- 41:36Speaker 2: statements came out.
- 41:38Speaker 4: I was like, whoa, how do you get that info
- 41:41Speaker 4: that quick? Like that's personal job with the platform.
- 41:43Speaker 6: I use caps my prop bets, so like I can
- 41:45Speaker 6: only bet probably like I don't do a lot.
- 41:48Speaker 4: I've never been my thing. I'm more mid major college basketball, right.
- 41:54Speaker 7: I love second second time touchdown score.
- 41:58Speaker 5: I love that as well.
- 41:59Speaker 8: I love a prop up fight bet.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I love a good second yeah football seasons again, it
- 42:06Speaker 4: was Kate Otten.
- 42:07Speaker 7: I remember this vividly.
- 42:09Speaker 10: Jake sends his attacks like I don't know who the
- 42:11Speaker 10: bucks was fighting doesn't matter.
- 42:12Speaker 5: Now. Boys was the Cowboys?
- 42:14Speaker 10: Okay boys, And like Jake's like celebrating the touchdown. Yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 10: that's what it was, because like, okay, Jake's rubbing into
- 42:19Speaker 10: my face whatever he cares. He's like, I bet Kate
- 42:22Speaker 10: otten second touchdown scored in the game, and he did,
- 42:26Speaker 10: and he scored the first.
- 42:27Speaker 5: Second like they were feeding the guy.
- 42:28Speaker 4: And like his second touchdown odds were like plus twenty
- 42:32Speaker 4: five hundred or something.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Crazy.
- 42:33Speaker 10: I'm like, what did generate bet second tom touchdown?
- 42:36Speaker 7: The guy who mus just guy who's got inside information?
