A local councilor in Otuke District is facing serious backlash after allegedly stealing five million shillings meant for his 112-year-old grandmother—part of a government cattle restocking program. The elderly woman, too frail to handle paperwork herself, reportedly relied on her relative who was tricked by councilor Christopher Atiko and a local chief into signing over documents so Atiko could become her next of kin.
