- 0:45Speaker 3: mission is for souls. All right, all right, today's topic, Man,
- 0:51Speaker 3: this is ah, this is gonna cut and then this
- 0:55Speaker 3: is gonna heal. This is We're gonna get deep. I
- 0:57Speaker 3: ain't gonna lie. Oh lord, We're gonna get real deep
- 1:01Speaker 3: on this one. The topic is purposed in heart versus
- 1:06Speaker 3: lip service. Let me say that again, purposed in heart
- 1:13Speaker 3: versus our lip service. This is the true mark of
- 1:18Speaker 3: a disciple. We're gonna dig deep. We're not gonna sugarcoat
- 1:26Speaker 3: nothing on this episode. So grab your Bible, share this stream.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Un let's get into it.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:42Speaker 3: We're gonna look at it. We're gonna look at it.
- 1:44Speaker 3: We're gonna break it down. What does it mean to
- 1:48Speaker 3: have purpose in your heart? What does that look like?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Purposing in your heart? Now? The Foundational Scripture or today
- 2:03Speaker 3: is Acts chapter eleven, verse twenty three. Acts Chapter eleven,
- 2:08Speaker 3: verse twenty three. And let me give you a little
- 2:14Speaker 3: background to the Scripture. Of course, we know about the
- 2:20Speaker 3: life of Paul and his missionary journeys. And Paul was
- 2:27Speaker 3: accompanied by Barnabas. Barnabas the name means son of a consolation.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Barnabas had the gift to bring people together to reconcile
- 2:39Speaker 3: between two parties. Right, and he was an exhorteror he
- 2:45Speaker 3: used to exhort early church. We need that, we need preaching,
- 2:52Speaker 3: but we also need exhortation, and we need teaching to
- 2:56Speaker 3: have a healthy body, a healthy ministry. And barnaby this
- 3:01Speaker 3: was great. Now when he traveled with Paul, and his
- 3:10Speaker 3: heart rejoiced over so many people who are coming to
- 3:15Speaker 3: the faith. He left his message, and let's peak it
- 3:23Speaker 3: up in verse twenty three. But when he came as
- 3:27Speaker 3: Barnabas and had seen the grace of God was glad.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Now Barnabas was glad. And now check him out. He
- 3:39Speaker 3: is about to exhort the church. And it says he
- 3:44Speaker 3: exhorted them all that with purpose of heart, they would
- 3:51Speaker 3: cleave unto the Lord. With the purpose of heart, that
- 3:57Speaker 3: they would cleave onto the Lord. Purpose scene in your
- 4:02Speaker 3: heart means making a deliberate inner commitment to serve God.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Let me say that again. Purpose scene in your heart
- 4:12Speaker 3: means making a deliberate inner commitment to serve God before
- 4:19Speaker 3: you're even tested. Before the test comes, you've already made
- 4:24Speaker 3: the commitment. Before the temptation comes, You've already decided. Barnabas
- 4:32Speaker 3: was just telling the church to be wholehearted in their
- 4:39Speaker 3: commitment to purpose in their heart. He wasn't just telling
- 4:44Speaker 3: the church to be emotional or hype about the situation.
- 4:48Speaker 3: He told them to cleave to the Lord with their
- 4:53Speaker 3: whole being. To cleave to the Lord with your whole being.
- 5:03Speaker 3: He told them to purpose in their heart. It's not
- 5:09Speaker 3: just passion, is also preparation. You have to prepare. Tell
- 5:21Speaker 3: me anything in life that you can do well that
- 5:27Speaker 3: you did not first prepare for it. Once we prepare
- 5:34Speaker 3: for something, once we give our all to something, we
- 5:41Speaker 3: practice something, we focus on something we know that the
- 5:46Speaker 3: outcome is a lot better. Well, how come we don't
- 5:50Speaker 3: prepare ourselves to be committed to the Lord. This is
- 5:58Speaker 3: the difference between people who make it and people who don't.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Why do we see people always falling back into the
- 6:08Speaker 3: same old rut. They go back to the same lifestyle,
- 6:13Speaker 3: They go back to their sin. The Bible says, as
- 6:17Speaker 3: a dog returns to the vomit, so goes the backslider.
- 6:27Speaker 3: You see so many people who backslide, they walk away
- 6:31Speaker 3: from God. Why because they've never purposed in their heart.
- 6:35Speaker 3: They only had a head knowledge, they only had lip service,
- 6:40Speaker 3: but they never purposed. Let's look at Daniel, Chapter one,
- 6:46Speaker 3: verse eight. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he
- 6:52Speaker 3: will not defile himself with a portion of the king's men.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Daniel didn't wait for peer pressure. He decided ahead of
- 7:04Speaker 3: time not to compromise. A lot of us make decisions
- 7:09Speaker 3: in the heat of the moment, But a disciple decides
- 7:16Speaker 3: in the secret place, not in the spotlight. That's purpose. Now,
- 7:24Speaker 3: you gotta ask yourself real quick. Let's take a second
- 7:28Speaker 3: to to do some reflection, right, to do some self evaluation.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Have you made a decision and no matter what happens,
- 7:40Speaker 3: you will not bow. Have you purposed in your heart?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Have you decided that no matter what happens, you're not
- 7:52Speaker 3: gonna bow, You're not gonna cave in. You're gonna play
- 7:55Speaker 3: the man, You're gonna play the woman. Right, next question,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and what is your lion in the sand? Have you
- 8:05Speaker 3: drawn a lion in the sand. Have you told the
- 8:09Speaker 3: devil not to cross his line or if you haven't
- 8:15Speaker 3: done it yet, today would be the perfect day to
- 8:20Speaker 3: do that. Let's do that together on this episode. Hey,
- 8:28Speaker 3: I'm talking to myself as well. There's many areas of
- 8:31Speaker 3: my life where I keep slipping up and going back
- 8:34Speaker 3: to But I'm trusting believing God through his Holy Spirit,
- 8:39Speaker 3: He's going to do a work in us and through
- 8:43Speaker 3: us with this podcast. Now, let's take a look at
- 8:47Speaker 3: the person who only gives lip service to their walk
- 8:51Speaker 3: with God and Matthew fifteen, verse eight, it says, those
- 9:03Speaker 3: people draw nine unto me with their mouth and honored
- 9:08Speaker 3: me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
- 9:15Speaker 3: While you can't fool the Lord, you might be able
- 9:19Speaker 3: to trick other people, but we can't fool God. These
- 9:25Speaker 3: people give them great lip service, and they honored him
- 9:30Speaker 3: with their mouth, right, but they never purposed in their heart.
- 9:38Speaker 3: That is a tragedy here. How many of us know
- 9:42Speaker 3: of a person who spoke well and men will had
- 9:47Speaker 3: good intentions. But if you never purpose in your heart,
- 9:51Speaker 3: you're not gonna follow through. You're not gonna make it.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You're just fak in the front. But you're only fooling yourself.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I'm only fooling myself if I choose to go down
- 10:09Speaker 3: this road. I said, if I told y'all, this is
- 10:12Speaker 3: gonna be another one, this is gonna be one of
- 10:14Speaker 3: those podcasts. I felt this in my heart. The Holy
- 10:19Speaker 3: Spirit gave this to me, and I was convicted about it,
- 10:23Speaker 3: and I'm like, you know what, let me get this out.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Let me get this word out. So stick with me.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Stick with me. We're gonna get some encouragement towards the end. Now,
- 10:38Speaker 3: then Matthew. Concerning Matthew fifteen eight, Jesus actually quoted this
- 10:46Speaker 3: from Isaiah. See, this is not new. Fake praise has
- 10:54Speaker 3: been a problem for centuries. Lip service is when your
- 11:00Speaker 3: mouth says yes, but your lifestyle says maybe, and it's
- 11:06Speaker 3: a hollow hallelujah and a compromised lifestyle. We need God
- 11:15Speaker 3: to help us. A compromise lifestyle. Fake praise. Your praise
- 11:23Speaker 3: is fake, your worship is fake if you're living a
- 11:28Speaker 3: compromised lifestyle. Now, one of the ways that you can
- 11:40Speaker 3: tell whether or not you're just giving lip services when
- 11:44Speaker 3: you go on social media and you post a scripture,
- 11:49Speaker 3: but then you start cursing people out in the comments, like,
- 11:53Speaker 3: I mean, what's up with that? That's like a contradictory.
- 11:57Speaker 3: How you going to post a scripture and start? Are
- 12:00Speaker 3: you in and cutting people out into comments? Or even
- 12:05Speaker 3: when you go to church. You lift your hands in church,
- 12:07Speaker 3: but you're sleeping around with everybody who's not your spouse, right,
- 12:15Speaker 3: you're hopping from bed to bed. You're not crucifying the flesh.
- 12:19Speaker 3: You're not living a life of obedience. You're not living
- 12:23Speaker 3: a life. You're not a living sacrifice or even serve
- 12:30Speaker 3: on Sunday, but then you cheat in business on Monday. Wow,
- 12:37Speaker 3: this is convicting. Like, God help us, ay man, I
- 12:45Speaker 3: need helping this Now, here's another time to get some reflection.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Is my devotion public but not person? Let's ask ourselves?
- 13:04Speaker 3: Is my devotion public but not personal? What are you
- 13:09Speaker 3: doing behind closed doors is more important than what you
- 13:13Speaker 3: do in public? And I got another question for you.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Do I have Christian habits but no holy heart? Is
- 13:30Speaker 3: it all just outward? Is it all just tradition?
- 13:35Speaker 2: Do you go to.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Church because somebody told you to? Do you read your
- 13:41Speaker 3: Bible because somebody told you to? And whether they're not around,
- 13:46Speaker 3: you're back to whatever this could be a telltale sign.
- 13:57Speaker 3: This give me something. Stay encouraged because we're gonna get help.
- 14:03Speaker 3: God is gonna help us before this is over. Now,
- 14:09Speaker 3: the sipleship takes daily decisions. Is not a quick thing.
- 14:16Speaker 3: It takes daily decisions. Luke chapter nine, verse twenty three says,
- 14:24Speaker 3: if any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
- 14:30Speaker 3: take up his cross daily and follow me. Following following
- 14:36Speaker 3: Christ is not an event. It's a daily execution of self.
- 14:43Speaker 3: The difference between the lip talker and the heart purposer
- 14:47Speaker 3: is consistency. One has moments and the other has a lifestyle.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Let me say that again. Lip talker may have moments
- 15:02Speaker 3: of obedience, but a heart purposer has a lifestyle of obedience. Amen.
- 15:16Speaker 3: The last scripture on this point is James chapter one,
- 15:23Speaker 3: verse twenty two. But be doers of the word, and
- 15:28Speaker 3: not here is only deceiving your own selves. This scripture
- 15:34Speaker 3: is sobering. Fam It is sobering. If you just listen
- 15:40Speaker 3: but don't obey, you're walking in self deception. Yeah, you
- 15:47Speaker 3: might look spiritual, but the mirror of the word reveals
- 15:54Speaker 3: your true reflection. Let me say that again. The mirror
- 16:00Speaker 3: other word, it deals your true reflection. See, when you're deceived,
- 16:11Speaker 3: you don't even know you're all. It's bad. I mean,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I can you know, I can almost understand a person
- 16:22Speaker 3: who wants to deceive others because possibly there's something that
- 16:29Speaker 3: they want to gain, they want to you know, maybe
- 16:32Speaker 3: they're hungry and they're trying to trick you out of
- 16:34Speaker 3: some food, trick you out of your money so that
- 16:36Speaker 3: you can eat. At least that's reasonable. But man, it's
- 16:41Speaker 3: worse when we deceive ourselves. Like what do we get
- 16:44Speaker 3: out of deceiving ourselves? That's how wicked our hearts are.
- 16:49Speaker 3: That's how ruthless the enemy is. And see, when we're deceived,
- 16:55Speaker 3: we don't even know it. We have blind spots. We
- 17:01Speaker 3: can be way off and we think we're fine. How
- 17:06Speaker 3: many of us started dabbling into something. And when you
- 17:11Speaker 3: first started dabbling into it, you thought you were fine,
- 17:15Speaker 3: You thought you were okay, You thought you can handle it. Oh,
- 17:18Speaker 3: I can handle watching porn. Oh I can handle drinking alcohol.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I can hang out with this crowd. I can handle it.
- 17:28Speaker 3: They're not gonna influence me to sin against God. And
- 17:33Speaker 3: then we find ourselves flat on our backs because we
- 17:38Speaker 3: couldn't handle it. That self deception. That is why accountability
- 17:45Speaker 3: is important. That's why you need to have someone in
- 17:49Speaker 3: your life that loves you, that is willing to hold
- 17:54Speaker 3: you accountable. And the Word of God is non negotiable.
- 18:03Speaker 3: The only way that we're going to walk in truth
- 18:06Speaker 3: is if we pick up the Word. We get that revelation,
- 18:10Speaker 3: we get that understanding is when we spend time in
- 18:15Speaker 3: the Word. And of course you gotta have that prayer life.
- 18:19Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, I told y'all we
- 18:23Speaker 3: was gonna get deep. I mean, we do this because
- 18:27Speaker 3: we love y'all. You know what I'm saying. We want
- 18:30Speaker 3: to see y'all make it. Some of these topics we
- 18:34Speaker 3: cover are not being taught in church, They're not being
- 18:39Speaker 3: taught in other places. That's why we're doing it. Now,
- 18:46Speaker 3: let's go ahead and get us a music break. We're
- 18:51Speaker 3: gonna switch up the flavor a little bit. We got
- 18:58Speaker 3: this song on deck. It's called God Did by the
- 19:03Speaker 3: Suns of Sunday right here live only his high Radio
- 19:09Speaker 3: show and his High Radio Network.

- 19:40Speaker 6: save girl who broke your chain, if you gotta make

- 26:33Speaker 3: Hot radio show. All right, so here is a joke
- 26:38Speaker 3: of the day. Here is the joke of the day. So,
- 26:53Speaker 3: how do you make holy water? And you said that again,
- 27:00Speaker 3: how do you make holy water? You know there's some
- 27:07Speaker 3: churches out there they have holy water and they sprinkle
- 27:10Speaker 3: it and kind of throw it on people, especially if
- 27:14Speaker 3: you watch them the exorcists, demons getting cast out of people,
- 27:19Speaker 3: the priests, the Cathey, pretty, priests will throw holy water
- 27:23Speaker 3: on the people or whatever. So how do you make it?
- 27:28Speaker 3: Are you ready for the answer? You boil the devil
- 27:33Speaker 3: out of it? Ah, come on down, oil the devil
- 27:39Speaker 3: out of it. Now, it's holy holy water? All right?
- 27:44Speaker 3: All right, let's keep it, push it, let's keep it pushing. Yes,
- 27:51Speaker 3: we're talking about you know, I'm just laughing about it myself.
- 27:55Speaker 3: All right, we're talking about purpose scene in your heart
- 28:04Speaker 3: to serve the Lord, to go after the Lord? Are
- 28:07Speaker 3: you just giving God lip service? And only you can
- 28:11Speaker 3: answer this for yourself, right, because nobody can judge you.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I can't judge you. As a matter of fact, I
- 28:18Speaker 3: don't have a heaven or hell to put you in.
- 28:22Speaker 3: So you to try to look good in front of
- 28:27Speaker 3: me or look good in front of people. I mean,
- 28:31Speaker 3: it's not I mean, what are you gonna gain? What
- 28:35Speaker 3: does that mean at the end of the day. You
- 28:38Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. It doesn't mean nothing. But before
- 28:43Speaker 3: we jump back into the topic, I want to shout
- 28:46Speaker 3: out our Christian our age genre. It looks like Angie
- 28:53Speaker 3: Rose is gonna drop something pretty soon she's dropping it

- 30:45Speaker 3: us the day, the time, the location so that we
- 30:50Speaker 3: can send it out to our listeners. We only ask
- 30:53Speaker 3: that you guys join us every Monday through Friday at
- 30:57Speaker 3: eleven o'clock Pacific, the entertime West Coast time, because you
- 31:02Speaker 3: know we are in Vegas, we are on the West
- 31:04Speaker 3: coast Monday through Friday. Come on and join us.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Amen and a man.
- 31:19Speaker 3: All right, So back to the topic. Now, here's how
- 31:26Speaker 3: you can tell you have signs of a heart that
- 31:30Speaker 3: is purposed. Do you want to be a man or
- 31:38Speaker 3: a woman of purpose or do you just want to
- 31:42Speaker 3: be a man or a woman that just gives lip service.
- 31:47Speaker 3: You got to make the decision, y'all. We got to
- 31:49Speaker 3: make it pretty quick. We need to make it right here,
- 31:52Speaker 3: right now, on this podcast. Now here's a couple of signs.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Obedience even when it hurts. Wow, that's convicting obedience even
- 32:07Speaker 3: when it hurts. Now, if you look at Hebrews Chapter eleven,
- 32:13Speaker 3: verse twenty four and twenty five, Moses choosing rather to
- 32:19Speaker 3: suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy
- 32:24Speaker 3: the pleasures of sin for a season. So Moses was
- 32:30Speaker 3: willing to suffer that affliction. Sometimes obedience will be painful.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Sometimes we have to pay a cost to obey our Lord.
- 32:45Speaker 3: So we need to pray that. We need to pray
- 32:47Speaker 3: that that we want to obey even when it hurts. Now,
- 32:54Speaker 3: are you consistent a consistent character in private and in public?
- 33:00Speaker 4: Now?
- 33:00Speaker 3: Just when people can see you, are you consistent behind
- 33:05Speaker 3: closed doors? This is important, y'all. Let's go to Proverbs
- 33:11Speaker 3: chapter four, verse twenty three. Proverbs for twenty three Keep
- 33:17Speaker 3: thy heart with all diligence, For out of it are
- 33:21Speaker 3: the issues of life. Are you keeping your heart? Are
- 33:26Speaker 3: you keeping guard? Are you just letting every old thing
- 33:30Speaker 3: come in your heart, whether it be jealousy, whether it
- 33:34Speaker 3: be envy, whether it be lust, unforgiveness and bitterness. The
- 33:39Speaker 3: enemy is having a heyday in your heart if you're
- 33:44Speaker 3: not guarding it. Conviction over convenience Romans twelve one and two.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Be not conformed to this world. It might be more
- 34:02Speaker 3: convenient for us to conform. Right to may be easier.
- 34:10Speaker 3: We want to take the path of least resistance. We
- 34:14Speaker 3: don't want to deal with it. We don't want to
- 34:18Speaker 3: resist our flesh, right, but have you purposed in your heart?
- 34:26Speaker 3: A person who has purposed in his heart is not
- 34:30Speaker 3: going to do that. A person who has purposed in
- 34:35Speaker 3: his heart is going to be faithful no matter what. Now,
- 34:52Speaker 3: these aren't just surface level versus. These are standards for disciples. Yet,
- 35:01Speaker 3: if we purpose in our hearts like Daniel, like Moses
- 35:06Speaker 3: and Paul, we won't need a platform to prove it.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Our lives will preach. Let me say that again. If
- 35:21Speaker 3: we purpose in our hearts like Daniel, like Moses and Paul,
- 35:28Speaker 3: we don't need a platform to try to prove it
- 35:31Speaker 3: and try to fake other people out or fake ourselves out.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Our lives will preach. Our lives are fruit. We preach
- 35:45Speaker 3: the truth. Now, of course, you know I need to
- 35:54Speaker 3: hit us up with some prayer. We can't let a
- 35:58Speaker 3: topic like this go without going before the Lord and
- 36:02Speaker 3: like you know what, just falling to our knees. Like
- 36:05Speaker 3: I don't want to be a lip servicer. I want
- 36:11Speaker 3: to purpose in my heart. The sad thing is, you
- 36:15Speaker 3: see so many people in church. You can tell some
- 36:19Speaker 3: of the things that they struggle with is because they
- 36:21Speaker 3: never purposed in their heart to cleave to the Lord.
- 36:26Speaker 3: They're just giving them lip service. Because if you purpose
- 36:30Speaker 3: in your heart, you would be correcting yourself. You would
- 36:34Speaker 3: be correcting your issues. You wouldn't have a mouth that
- 36:37Speaker 3: just flips off and a bad attitude all the time,
- 36:41Speaker 3: and all this stuff like you would be trying to
- 36:45Speaker 3: improve at least. Right, let's pray, Lord, help us to
- 36:57Speaker 3: move past the shallow our religion. Lord, take us deeper,
- 37:03Speaker 3: help us to purpose in our hearts to never defile ourselves.
- 37:07Speaker 4: God.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Yes, Lord, purge every double minded place that is in us. Lord,
- 37:15Speaker 3: let us let our lives God align with your word,
- 37:21Speaker 3: whether we're on stage or in secret. Let us be consistent. Father,
- 37:27Speaker 3: we have said, Lord, and Jesus saying Amen, Amen. Amen.
- 37:35Speaker 3: If this podcast has blessed you, please share it with somebody.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Somebody needs to hear this, Somebody needs some help. Somebody
- 37:46Speaker 3: could be struggling, whether they go to church or not.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Share this. As a matter of fact, this is probably
- 37:52Speaker 3: more for the church, right, because we need to purpose.
- 37:58Speaker 3: A sinner is not going to purpose in our all right.
- 38:00Speaker 3: For the Lord, it's us those who know the gospel,
- 38:04Speaker 3: those who said yes to Christ. We say yes as
- 38:07Speaker 3: far as salvation, but we didn't follow through. We didn't
- 38:11Speaker 3: purpose in our heart to conserve the Lord. And so
- 38:17Speaker 3: if we ended up, if we end up going back
- 38:22Speaker 3: to our old life, if we end up walking away
- 38:27Speaker 3: from our relationship with God, if we end up not
- 38:30Speaker 3: fulfilling purpose and not fulfilling the call in our lives,
- 38:34Speaker 3: and we know why we never purposed in our heart
- 38:38Speaker 3: to cleave to the Lord. We only gave God lip service.
- 38:43Speaker 3: The Bible says, that's being hypocritical as being Luke Warren.
- 38:52Speaker 3: The Lord says, I wish you were colder or even high, Like,
- 38:57Speaker 3: if you're gonna do your own thing, go do it.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Why playing und I don't wait it? Why hang out
- 39:01Speaker 3: in the church when you're not gonna give your life
- 39:04Speaker 3: to the Lord. And we need to talk to ourselves
- 39:09Speaker 3: that way, like we need to be real about this thing.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Hey man, all right, well, thank you for joining us.
