- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello. Welcome to
- 0:16Speaker 1: the Naughty But Nice Show. I'm your host, Rob Schueter,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and it's Thursday, which means our dear, dear friend Mark
- 0:22Speaker 1: Lupo's joining us. Hey, Lupi, are you there?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Lupi-lu-lu is here.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Hey, Rob. Hey, Lupi-lu. You look very refreshed today, very polished.
- 0:31Speaker 1: You've just jumped out the shower, or you're going somewhere lovely?
- 0:34Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 0:35Speaker 2: I have a hydrofacial this weekend. Ah! They sucked out
- 0:38Speaker 2: all the gunk in my face, so I'm feeling pretty fresh.
- 0:41Speaker 1: They're amazing. I've only had that done once. Our friend
- 0:44Speaker 1: Valerie hooked me up. I got a freebie. I'm not
- 0:46Speaker 1: paying that money. Oh, my goodness. It's like a vacuum
- 0:50Speaker 1: cleaner on your face. It is. It sucks out all
- 0:53Speaker 1: the dirt.
- 0:53Speaker 2: They show it to you after, which is really gross.
- 0:55Speaker 1: That's very clever. But it's really clever because once you
- 0:57Speaker 1: see that tube full of just like blackheads and dirt
- 1:01Speaker 1: and New York City grits, I was like, I'm going
- 1:03Speaker 1: to pay for this next time. Well, you look great.
- 1:05Speaker 1: It did work. I knew it did work. OK, let's
- 1:08Speaker 1: jump into the show. What time is it, my friends?
- 1:10Speaker 1: It is tea time. It's a big Dolly Parton show today.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So when Dolly passed, I jumped on the mic really
- 1:16Speaker 1: fast and did a short 15 minute show. And then
- 1:19Speaker 1: Donny and I did the show yesterday and I wanted
- 1:22Speaker 1: to get back to Dolly. But I wanted a day.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I needed a day to process this because it really
- 1:27Speaker 1: upset me. This is one of those shows. deaths that
- 1:30Speaker 1: that knocked the stuffing out of me a little bit
- 1:32Speaker 1: i was at dinner with bruce the night she died
- 1:35Speaker 1: and the night we found out about it and both
- 1:37Speaker 1: of us were subdued like it was a sad dinner
- 1:41Speaker 1: it's had such an effect on us we're finding out
- 1:43Speaker 1: a lot more information now including what caused dolly's death
- 1:47Speaker 1: it was a secret cancer battle so she died at
- 1:51Speaker 1: 80 following a very private battle with cancer her reps
- 1:55Speaker 1: are now confirming this they said the following quote After
- 1:58Speaker 1: bravely facing a brief, that's a key word, a brief
- 2:01Speaker 1: battle with cancer, Dolly departed her earthly life today at
- 2:07Speaker 1: the Vanderbilt Centre, a cancer hospital surrounded by loved ones.
- 2:14Speaker 1: The type of cancer has not been disclosed. Now, the legend,
- 2:18Speaker 1: the music legend, acknowledged that she had had some health problems,
- 2:22Speaker 1: digestive issues. immune issues but she'd never used the c
- 2:27Speaker 1: word and this this this was on purpose i spoke
- 2:30Speaker 1: to some friends who didn't know she kept this a
- 2:33Speaker 1: secret from a lot of people she didn't want us
- 2:37Speaker 1: to have dolly and cancer in the same sentence while
- 2:40Speaker 1: she was still with us obviously now that she's gone
- 2:43Speaker 1: her team have put out the truth but this was
- 2:46Speaker 1: this was a blow mark a couple of things did
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know had you heard the cancer rumors i did
- 2:51Speaker 1: hear some rumors And B, did you ever meet Dolly?
- 2:53Speaker 1: What's your experience with Dolly?
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, so I had the feeling something was wrong. I
- 2:58Speaker 2: remember her sister a few months ago came out and
- 3:00Speaker 2: said there was something really bad happening and then Dolly
- 3:03Speaker 2: came out and corrected the record. You know what I
- 3:05Speaker 2: love about Dahlia is that she's the most recognizable person
- 3:09Speaker 2: in this world, and yet we knew nothing about those
- 3:12Speaker 2: intimate details. You really had no idea her husband, what
- 3:15Speaker 2: he was going through, even her cancer diagnosis. So I
- 3:18Speaker 2: really have a lot of respect for the way that
- 3:19Speaker 2: she was able to handle fame, but also maintain her
- 3:22Speaker 2: personal life. And then to the second question, yes, I
- 3:26Speaker 2: did meet her at the great fortune of meeting her.
- 3:27Speaker 2: She was a guest on Wendy Williams. And what was
- 3:30Speaker 2: so awesome about Dahlia is that when she showed up
- 3:32Speaker 2: with her her crew and she does not roll with
- 3:34Speaker 2: just a few people it's a whole production almost everyone
- 3:38Speaker 2: on the crew is like a family member or a
- 3:40Speaker 2: close friend and they all ride together and she was
- 3:43Speaker 2: so lovely she showed up in the full drag she
- 3:46Speaker 2: performed for us she was like truly a light that
- 3:49Speaker 2: you only see once in a lifetime.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And that's why it was kept secret her inner circle
- 3:56Speaker 1: Was really close. Yes. They weren't random people. They were
- 4:00Speaker 1: family members. The head of her security was her nephew.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It was the sister that first gave me the heads
- 4:07Speaker 1: up to. And she did it out of just, I think,
- 4:10Speaker 1: just grief and just sadness that Dolly was sick. And
- 4:14Speaker 1: she put out a very simple message, sending prayers to
- 4:19Speaker 1: Dolly and the whole world. Dolly had to address it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And Dolly didn't tell the whole truth. We'll let Dolly
- 4:27Speaker 1: have a moment there. But Dolly wanted this to go away.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I spoke to some friends of Dolly's yesterday and I said,
- 4:34Speaker 1: why was she so private about this? And they choked
- 4:37Speaker 1: up a little bit and said, it's because she didn't
- 4:39Speaker 1: want it to be about her. Her life was bringing you, us, joy.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And if we were talking about cancer and Dolly... We
- 4:48Speaker 1: weren't singing her songs. We weren't smiling. We weren't laughing
- 4:51Speaker 1: at how ridiculous she deliberately looked. Dolly put on that drag.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You call it drag, and I think it's a word
- 4:57Speaker 1: that Dolly used too. She said, it costs a lot
- 4:59Speaker 1: of money to look this cheap. And she just was
- 5:02Speaker 1: in on the joke. I love that because it's behind
- 5:05Speaker 1: the scenes where you really know who people are. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: and I, Mark, have been lucky enough, sometimes not so lucky,
- 5:11Speaker 1: to meet a lot of famous people. More times than not,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and this is an honest observation, they don't live up
- 5:19Speaker 1: to who you want them to be. I have been
- 5:22Speaker 1: disappointed more than I have been charmed. Dolly was the
- 5:26Speaker 1: exception to that rule. She was the same person you
- 5:30Speaker 1: saw backstage in the makeup room as putting on a show.
- 5:35Speaker 1: What was the chemistry like between her and Wendy? That
- 5:37Speaker 1: is a fun, fun combination.
- 5:39Speaker 2: It was. You know, they bonded over having big boobs, right?
- 5:42Speaker 2: And like over-the-top personalities and over-the-top And so it was
- 5:47Speaker 2: an immediate and instant chemistry there. And it made the
- 5:50Speaker 2: show really fun. And she also sang for us. She
- 5:53Speaker 2: sang Jolene and other hit songs of hers. So it
- 5:55Speaker 2: was truly a special time. thing to be a witness of.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I think, you know, in the audience or whether you
- 6:00Speaker 2: worked there, whatever it was, everyone was so excited. The
- 6:03Speaker 2: janitor stopped, you know.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, you really know. I've been on a
- 6:07Speaker 1: lot of sets, many of them with you, Mark, when
- 6:10Speaker 1: the janitor stops, when the people come out the accounting
- 6:13Speaker 1: office and take it. That's when you know you're in
- 6:16Speaker 1: the company of royalty. That's what Dolly Parton was, royal.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But now we do know she had a short, they're
- 6:23Speaker 1: saying a brief, that's their word, a brief battle with cancer.
- 6:27Speaker 1: When she started cancelling shows, that's when people in the
- 6:29Speaker 1: music business knew something was up because she didn't cancel shows.
- 6:33Speaker 1: She had a work ethic like no other. She worked.
- 6:38Speaker 1: She worked constantly. And it was about the fans. She
- 6:42Speaker 1: once said, But she knows how difficult it is to
- 6:45Speaker 1: get off your bottom, get in the car, drive to
- 6:47Speaker 1: a concert, pay the babysitter, maybe buy dinner, buy a
- 6:51Speaker 1: Diet Coke, drive home. It's really expensive. She never forgot that.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And she always wanted to be there for her fans.
- 6:58Speaker 1: So the combination of her cancelling concerts and then her
- 7:01Speaker 1: sister loose lips, that sister, that sister. It'll be Doris.
- 7:06Speaker 1: God forbid you're ever sick, Mark, but it'll be Doris. Oh, yes.
- 7:09Speaker 1: We've got to all keep a dark... Mine will be
- 7:11Speaker 1: my sister, Christine. Which brings us to our poll question
- 7:14Speaker 1: of the day. Dolly did not reveal that she had
- 7:17Speaker 1: cancer to even some of her closest friends. Are you
- 7:21Speaker 1: surprised that Dolly kept this a secret? As Mark said,
- 7:24Speaker 1: we know so much about her, or we thought we did.
- 7:27Speaker 1: We actually didn't. She kept that marriage of almost 60
- 7:31Speaker 1: years with Carl really under wraps. Dolly only let us
- 7:36Speaker 1: know what she wanted us to know. So were you surprised? Hey,
- 7:38Speaker 1: go vote on our X page, our Twitter page at
- 7:41Speaker 1: Naughty Nice Rob, our Facebook pages, Naughty Gossip, and be
- 7:46Speaker 1: sure to check back tomorrow to hear your results. More
- 7:49Speaker 1: on Dolly. What else do we know, Mark? What are
- 7:51Speaker 1: you working on? That's right.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So we have Dolly's private funeral plans. They've been revealed.
- 7:56Speaker 2: So Dolly will be remembered at the small private funeral
- 7:59Speaker 2: attended by an immediate family. According to her reps, the
- 8:02Speaker 2: national service was planned at Dolly's request, but the country
- 8:06Speaker 2: legend expects to be laid to rest by her beloved husband,
- 8:09Speaker 2: Carl Dean, at the Woodlawn Memorial and Mausoleum. Now, in
- 8:12Speaker 2: true Dolly fashion, she says she'll be buried in her
- 8:15Speaker 2: signature high heels... And instead of flowers, she's asking fans
- 8:19Speaker 2: to donate to her imagination library. And this is the
- 8:23Speaker 2: best part. Dolly revealed the song she wanted to play
- 8:26Speaker 2: at her funeral, which is not going to be, you know,
- 8:29Speaker 2: the Whitney Houston. It's going to be It's Going to
- 8:32Speaker 2: Be If We Never Met Again.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Oh, that's a gospel song. That's a very big... I
- 8:38Speaker 1: think her father, her father, Robert Lee... part and that
- 8:43Speaker 1: was his favourite song too. I think we've got to
- 8:46Speaker 1: be honest here. I Will Always Love You will play somewhere.
- 8:50Speaker 1: It might not be Dolly's number one choice. I was
- 8:53Speaker 1: talking about this this morning to a radio programmer, a
- 8:57Speaker 1: friend of mine who programs the big Z100 type channels
- 9:02Speaker 1: and I said what song are you going to play?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Now it's interesting. On iTunes Dolly is number one, two
- 9:08Speaker 1: and three. Number one is Jolene. It's not I Will
- 9:12Speaker 1: Always Love You. Number two is 9 to 5. Number
- 9:17Speaker 1: three is I Will Always Love You. And I said,
- 9:19Speaker 1: why is that? And they said, it's quite complicated. Because
- 9:23Speaker 1: when Dolly recorded that song, it wasn't a big hit.
- 9:26Speaker 1: It was Whitney Houston that turned it into the biggest
- 9:29Speaker 1: song maybe of a generation, the biggest single by a
- 9:32Speaker 1: female singer of all time. Do you play the Whitney version?
- 9:36Speaker 1: Or do you play the Dolly version? Which version would
- 9:39Speaker 1: you play on your radio show?
- 9:40Speaker 2: I mean, for a long time, I didn't know that
- 9:42Speaker 2: Dolly had the version. Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame.
- 9:45Speaker 2: But I'm being honest here with all of you guys.
- 9:48Speaker 2: You know, I like both. They're very different. But Dolly's is, like,
- 9:51Speaker 2: kind of soothing and very country and sweet. So I
- 9:54Speaker 2: would play both, maybe.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd play Jolene. I'd get out of the problem.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I just would say, like, let's do 9 to 5
- 10:02Speaker 1: or Jolene. Because if you play the Whitney Houston one,
- 10:05Speaker 1: it's not Dolly singing, but it is magnificent. Even Dolly
- 10:08Speaker 1: said that. Dolly acknowledged the Whitney one's better. It is
- 10:12Speaker 1: one of the greatest. I'm married to a songwriter, a
- 10:15Speaker 1: Grammy-winning songwriter. He would admit... The Whitney Houston record is
- 10:20Speaker 1: one of the best produced records. That's what a producer does.
- 10:24Speaker 1: If you don't know what a producer does, listen to
- 10:26Speaker 1: Dolly's version. Listen to Whitney's and the key changes and
- 10:31Speaker 1: the big finish and that moment when she closes her
- 10:34Speaker 1: eyes and the music pauses and then she opens her
- 10:36Speaker 1: eyes and keeps.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Oh, I love it.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It's full drag queen deliciousness. And so I think I
- 10:42Speaker 1: would play Jolene too. Okay, moving along. Dolly made a
- 10:46Speaker 1: final request to her family. Just before she died, she
- 10:50Speaker 1: said she wanted to be laid to rest on a, quote,
- 10:54Speaker 1: beautiful bed of plush cotton. So her head of security,
- 10:58Speaker 1: her nephew, Brian, revealed this. He said, after a lifetime
- 11:02Speaker 1: of wearing heavy rhinestones, she wanted to be comfortable. I
- 11:09Speaker 1: love this, but there's a little bit of a joke
- 11:11Speaker 1: in this, too. Dolly will be buried as Dolly. the wigs,
- 11:16Speaker 1: the shoes, the riser. There's going to be a lot
- 11:18Speaker 1: of plush cotton. I hope she's on a bed of
- 11:22Speaker 1: just heaven, but she's going to go off as Dolly.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Of course, you know, but it sounds like I want
- 11:28Speaker 2: that now, maybe.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Oh, Oh, would you rather the bed of cotton right now?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Or would you rather the rhinestones? I do love me
- 11:37Speaker 1: a rhinestone.
- 11:38Speaker 2: We are in New York City, so I think rhinestones.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I'm going with the rhinestones. Okay, moving along. I thought
- 11:44Speaker 1: this was really, really sweet too. Taylor Swift, arguably the
- 11:49Speaker 1: biggest country artist of the moment or the biggest artist
- 11:52Speaker 1: of the moment. really admired Dolly. What does Taylor have
- 11:55Speaker 1: to say about all this, Mark? That's right.
- 11:57Speaker 2: She paid an emotional tribute to Dolly following her death.
- 12:00Speaker 2: And she said, a world without Dolly doesn't feel possible,
- 12:03Speaker 2: real or right. She said Dolly was the gift that
- 12:07Speaker 2: kept on giving and celebrated her combination of true grace
- 12:11Speaker 2: and grit.
- 12:13Speaker 1: It's a beautiful thing. There would be no Taylor Swift
- 12:15Speaker 1: without Dolly Parton. There really wouldn't be. And so I
- 12:18Speaker 1: think we have to acknowledge that and really tip our
- 12:22Speaker 1: Hats to that. I do know there's going to be
- 12:24Speaker 1: a private service. The family said Dolly did not want
- 12:27Speaker 1: a massive, massive celebration immediately. She's going to be laid
- 12:32Speaker 1: to rest in a very private service. She was, what,
- 12:35Speaker 1: the fourth of 12 kids. There's a massive family. They
- 12:38Speaker 1: have children, nieces, nephews. So it's going to be family members.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But I am told down the road and not that
- 12:45Speaker 1: far down the road, There are already talks and plans
- 12:49Speaker 1: about having a tribute. I know the network, CBS and
- 12:52Speaker 1: ABC and NBC, they would be silly not to put
- 12:55Speaker 1: together this big thing. And so I'm told every artist
- 13:00Speaker 1: is lining up to do this. I'm talking about Beyonce,
- 13:04Speaker 1: who gave a beautiful statement calling Dolly the barometer. Beyonce,
- 13:10Speaker 1: Miley Cyrus. If Miley can perform, she will, I am told.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Miley is devastated. Taylor Swift. We also have Paul McCartney,
- 13:19Speaker 1: a Beatle. There is no genre of music that didn't
- 13:24Speaker 1: respect the Queen, Dolly Parton. I would definitely tune in.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'd love to go to a big celebration event of
- 13:33Speaker 1: her life. I don't think there's a stadium big enough,
- 13:36Speaker 1: do you, for all these artists?
- 13:38Speaker 2: I don't think there is. She's looked at as an
- 13:41Speaker 2: icon of American culture, and they're even going to be
- 13:43Speaker 2: lowering the flag of staff for the next week or
- 13:46Speaker 2: so because that's the influence she's had on all of us.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It's such a major deal. And so I can't imagine,
- 13:51Speaker 2: maybe multiple stadiums could fit all these people.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I was thinking about it. I guess Live Aid is
- 13:57Speaker 1: the example of these multiple artists who are all together.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Funeral Rise, Michael Jackson was at the Staples Center. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: think this is going to be bigger. I think that
- 14:06Speaker 1: this is going to be bigger than that. Oh, Dolly Parton,
- 14:10Speaker 1: the joy, the joy that you have brought us. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: it's not ended. That's the thing with people like Dolly.
- 14:17Speaker 1: They leave behind a legacy, a history of this music
- 14:21Speaker 1: that we can play forever. At the minute, I think
- 14:25Speaker 1: four of her songs are on the top five on iTunes.
- 14:29Speaker 1: By the end of tonight, it might be five. It
- 14:32Speaker 1: really might be. I would imagine her album sales are
- 14:35Speaker 1: going to explode this week. It's so interesting. Jolene, Bruce said,
- 14:40Speaker 1: my husband Bruce is a songwriter. He said one of
- 14:43Speaker 1: the reasons that Jolene might be number one is it
- 14:46Speaker 1: also appeals to a country crowd. So Jolene is a
- 14:50Speaker 1: very much a country song that did cross over. So
- 14:52Speaker 1: it gets the best of both worlds, doesn't it? We're
- 14:55Speaker 1: definitely going to keep an eye on the charts. Dolly,
- 14:58Speaker 1: we will always love you. Okay, we're going to take
- 15:01Speaker 1: a quick break and we will be right back. Welcome
- 15:05Speaker 1: back to the Naughty But Nice Show. I'm your host,
- 15:08Speaker 1: Rob Shooter. Hey, Mark. Let's get to the polls. Last
- 15:12Speaker 1: show we talked about Hayden Panettiere. Could not leave. Could
- 15:16Speaker 1: not leave her troubled boyfriend because he was so charming.
- 15:20Speaker 1: His sister said he was so charming. She couldn't get
- 15:23Speaker 1: away from this guy every time she left. His charm
- 15:27Speaker 1: made her come back. Can you relate? Have you ever
- 15:29Speaker 1: been with a bad guy, a bad person who was
- 15:32Speaker 1: just charming? Maybe not even romantically. Maybe friend-wise. Mark, I
- 15:36Speaker 1: see you're grinning. Sometimes it's hard to walk away from
- 15:39Speaker 1: people that we know are stinkers.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's a mix of a grin and also a hard
- 15:43Speaker 2: eye roll because we've all been there. We know it
- 15:45Speaker 2: never works out the way you.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Want it to. Yeah. I've had it mainly with friends.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I've been with Bruce so long, there's not much romance
- 15:53Speaker 1: in my life before I met Bruce. Like, I've not
- 15:55Speaker 1: had a lot of guys in my life, but I
- 15:58Speaker 1: have had a lot of friends. And I've had some
- 16:00Speaker 1: friends who I knew were trouble. Just, you know what I'm... Oh, yes. Just...
- 16:05Speaker 1: But they're charming. They just make me giggle. So I
- 16:09Speaker 1: certainly can feel this. I can relate. Can you? 85%
- 16:13Speaker 1: said yes, you can relate. Hey, go vote on today's
- 16:17Speaker 1: poll on our Twitter, our X page, at Naughty Nice Rob.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Our Facebook page is Naughty Yosib. And be sure to
- 16:25Speaker 1: check back tomorrow to hear your results. And now it's
- 16:29Speaker 1: time for our nicest... Of the day.
- 16:33Speaker 2: No.
- 16:35Speaker 1: What you got?
- 16:36Speaker 2: Of course, it's Dolly Parton. She is, you know, she
- 16:39Speaker 2: had a really great sense of humor, and she never
- 16:41Speaker 2: lost it. Even when joking about her own death, the
- 16:43Speaker 2: country legend once said, one of her most famous lines
- 16:47Speaker 2: might someday appear on her tombstone. Quote, it costs a
- 16:50Speaker 2: lot of money to look this cheap.
- 16:54Speaker 1: End quote. I love it. To be in on the joke,
- 16:57Speaker 1: did you see that, Mark, when you spent a little
- 16:59Speaker 1: time with her backstage? Was she funny? She was funny.
- 17:02Speaker 2: She was making jokes. And she just, the energy there was,
- 17:06Speaker 2: everyone was just upbeat. And a lot of times when
- 17:08Speaker 2: you have music acts, when you're working with them, it
- 17:10Speaker 2: can be very stressful.
- 17:11Speaker 1: There's a lot of drama.
- 17:11Speaker 2: It was not that way at all. She was just
- 17:13Speaker 2: really wonderful.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Oh, that's interesting. You're right. When you just go on
- 17:16Speaker 1: as a talking guest, it's much easier. When you're a
- 17:18Speaker 1: musical guest, oh, the cues and the sound checks and
- 17:21Speaker 1: the this and the that. Oh, that's lovely to hear.
- 17:23Speaker 1: It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.
- 17:26Speaker 1: She was always the first to laugh at herself, wasn't she?
- 17:28Speaker 1: She was always the first. She said once... I don't
- 17:32Speaker 1: know if I'm going to go to heaven, but like
- 17:34Speaker 1: hell I'm going to try to get in. Fun. Just
- 17:37Speaker 1: so brilliant. And now our naughtiest of the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Cancer's the naughtiest of the day. We lost Ollie and
- 17:43Speaker 1: now we've lost another great. Tim Curry has died at
- 17:46Speaker 1: 80 years old. Tim Curry, the famous, the legendary British
- 17:50Speaker 1: actor who became a cult icon as Frankenfurter in the
- 17:54Speaker 1: Rocky Horror Picture Show. That's where I first discovered him,
- 17:57Speaker 1: has died at 80. He did an animated movie called
- 18:01Speaker 1: The Pebble and the Penguin with my husband and Barry Manilow.
- 18:05Speaker 1: And so I had a lot of at least conversations
- 18:08Speaker 1: about him where people, and Bruce and Barry would say
- 18:10Speaker 1: the kindest things. He was a true, true gentleman. He
- 18:14Speaker 1: died on Tuesday at his Los Angeles home. He had
- 18:17Speaker 1: a stroke a decade ago and has been in bad shape.
- 18:20Speaker 1: So hopefully he is now resting. Another, another legend. Let's
- 18:25Speaker 1: end with a moment of Rob. You get a Rob,
- 18:26Speaker 1: you get a Rob, you get a Rob. This is
- 18:28Speaker 1: a really good one for today. Grief is the cost
- 18:31Speaker 1: of love. We rarely consider that when somebody dies, when
- 18:36Speaker 1: somebody goes, the grief that we feel shows us the
- 18:42Speaker 1: cost of the love we had for them. So focus
- 18:45Speaker 1: on the laughter, the memories, the ordinary moments. Then one
- 18:50Speaker 1: day when they're gone, that love will remain and that
- 18:54Speaker 1: you can hold on to. So don't rush grief. Don't
- 18:58Speaker 1: apologize for it. The size of your sadness actually reflects
- 19:02Speaker 1: the size of what you had. Healing doesn't mean forgetting. No,
- 19:06Speaker 1: it means moving forward. That's all that it means. We
- 19:11Speaker 1: need to carry people with us, their stories, their habits,
- 19:14Speaker 1: their laughter, their music in our hearts. So cry, remember,
- 19:18Speaker 1: say their name, then keep living. Hey, that is it
- 19:22Speaker 1: for today. Thank you so much for listening. to the
- 19:26Speaker 1: Naughty But Nice with Rob and Mark show, a production
- 19:28Speaker 1: of Elvis Duran and iHeartRadio. A big thank you to
- 19:31Speaker 1: everybody that has pre-ordered my new novel. It's called Queen
- 19:34Speaker 1: Elizabeth III. That's a good title. Queen Elizabeth III. It's
- 19:39Speaker 1: set 15 years in the future. And somebody very surprising
- 19:42Speaker 1: is on the throne. Who could it be? It's a lady.
- 19:47Speaker 1: 15 years in the future it's already number 14 on
- 19:51Speaker 1: the charts thanks to you and free sales so thank
