- 0:00Speaker 1: There will come a day when I can sit down
- 0:01Speaker 1: and reflect on all this and think about the career
- 0:04Speaker 1: that I've had. But it's like I still want to
- 0:06Speaker 1: keep going. We still have more championships to win. I
- 0:08Speaker 1: still have more to do in the postseason, in the
- 0:10Speaker 1: regular season.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hi, Hello, welcome back to Dodgers territory. Katie Wu Clipasiasatchi,
- 0:28Speaker 2: Alana Rizzo on assignment. We're going to skip all the intros,
- 0:32Speaker 2: the usuals because we have a very special guest in
- 0:35Speaker 2: joining us today. He doesn't need an introduction. Gonna give
- 0:38Speaker 2: him one anyway, very dramatic third basement for the Los
- 0:42Speaker 2: Angeles Dodgers twenty twenty six All Star, the record holder
- 0:46Speaker 2: for most homels at Dodgers Stadium, Max Venci, thanks for
- 0:49Speaker 2: joining us, of course.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Thanks for having me on. Guys, do it MUDs get
- 0:54Speaker 1: a starter.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Woo.
- 0:56Speaker 2: All right, let's just go right into it. The Colorado
- 0:58Speaker 2: series came at a great time. I was not there,
- 1:01Speaker 2: but you guys looked much better on TV. What was
- 1:04Speaker 2: kind of the overall mindset coming in on Monday quick
- 1:07Speaker 2: three game series? Was it just hey, frush Slate, let's
- 1:10Speaker 2: take care of business here.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's the same mindset that we have
- 1:14Speaker 1: every single time when we show up to the park.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You know, you have a game in front of you,
- 1:18Speaker 1: you try to take care of business. You do whatever
- 1:20Speaker 1: you have to to win that game, and then you
- 1:21Speaker 1: move on to the next to you. You know, you
- 1:23Speaker 1: kind of don't let anything else enter into the conversation.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And you know, that's that's a formula that's been warning
- 1:30Speaker 1: for us for a lot of years, and we always
- 1:33Speaker 1: continue to preach that. And sometimes when you go through
- 1:35Speaker 1: rough stretches, it gets a little bit harder to just
- 1:38Speaker 1: focus on the day and not think about what's been happening,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you know, the previous several games. But you know, for us,
- 1:45Speaker 1: it was kind of just to get back to basics
- 1:46Speaker 1: and you know, just trying to focus on the day
- 1:48Speaker 1: that we had ahead of us. And you know, I
- 1:50Speaker 1: thought we did a really good job of that.
- 1:52Speaker 3: You know, I'm generally somebody that that hates coors Field.
- 1:55Speaker 3: A beautiful ballpark and all that, but I hate when
- 1:57Speaker 3: when you guys go to coors Field, does this feels
- 1:59Speaker 3: like something bad is gonna happen? But would you say
- 2:02Speaker 3: that series like just so to wake the boys up,
- 2:05Speaker 3: came at the right time.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean sure, you know, it's always a great
- 2:10Speaker 1: place to go to go in and hit. The opposite
- 2:14Speaker 1: of that, though, is sometimes it's not a great place
- 2:15Speaker 1: to go in in pitch. Uh. So I for me,
- 2:19Speaker 1: I was very impressed with how all of our pitchers
- 2:21Speaker 1: handled the environment, you know, starting with snow game one,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and then Lower did a great job Game two, and
- 2:26Speaker 1: Rokie looked great yesterday. Uh. You know, just the pitching
- 2:31Speaker 1: staff I thought did a really great job of not
- 2:32Speaker 1: letting the environment affect them. And for us offensively, I thought,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you know, obviously the results were great, but just the
- 2:40Speaker 1: advass we were having in certain situations looked a lot better.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And uh, you know that's something that we needed to
- 2:45Speaker 1: be focusing on. And you know, like like you said,
- 2:49Speaker 1: Colorado is uh, it's just one of those places you're
- 2:52Speaker 1: playing on the moon. Anything happened, uh and you know,
- 2:57Speaker 1: no lead is ever safe there, and uh, you know,
- 2:59Speaker 1: so for us having that mindset of just we need
- 3:03Speaker 1: to keep adding on, keep adding on, I think that
- 3:04Speaker 1: was great for us.
- 3:07Speaker 2: We heard from you Sunday after the Brewer series. We
- 3:09Speaker 2: heard from Dave Roberts throughout the week. There just needed
- 3:12Speaker 2: to be a recommitment, I think to play in the
- 3:14Speaker 2: little things. The Dodger way of baseball. It looked a
- 3:17Speaker 2: lot better again over the Rockies. But one thing that
- 3:20Speaker 2: we hear about the Dodger certainly I did from afar
- 3:23Speaker 2: and now I'm seeing it firsthand, is you guys are
- 3:26Speaker 2: so experienced and this is a core that that doesn't
- 3:28Speaker 2: really need any kind of extra motivation. You know how
- 3:30Speaker 2: to go out there and do your jobs every day.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So how do you keep that mindset so consistent where
- 3:35Speaker 2: that's just the expected culture in the clubhouse.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, that's just something that's been created over many,
- 3:41Speaker 1: many years, and you know, honestly it started before I
- 3:44Speaker 1: even got here. But you just you focus on the
- 3:47Speaker 1: things that you're supposed to do right. And you know,
- 3:51Speaker 1: one of the things for me that I thought was
- 3:54Speaker 1: back to how we play baseball in Colorado was, you know,
- 3:56Speaker 1: the base running. We were taking the extra bass when needed,
- 3:59Speaker 1: we aren't making outs when we weren't supposed to. We
- 4:02Speaker 1: were doing the little things right. And that's something that
- 4:04Speaker 1: we had done so good all year long, and the
- 4:06Speaker 1: last couple of weeks we've been, you know, not as good.
- 4:10Speaker 1: We've been forced you know, making force outs on the
- 4:12Speaker 1: basis just stuff that we shouldn't be doing. And we
- 4:15Speaker 1: kind of got back to to playing the game how
- 4:17Speaker 1: we how we played it, you know, last couple of
- 4:19Speaker 1: last couple of days, and so, you know, going back
- 4:24Speaker 1: to your question, I think it's just we've just created
- 4:27Speaker 1: this culture where that's that's the focus. You know, we
- 4:31Speaker 1: we preach it every single day, starting back in spring training,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and uh, we don't let it ever get away from that.
- 4:36Speaker 1: And when it starts getting away from that, we we
- 4:38Speaker 1: always rein it back in and we we continue to
- 4:39Speaker 1: preach you know, years, taking it one day at a time.
- 4:41Speaker 1: You're focused on this, don't let the things ball go
- 4:44Speaker 1: out there to your U team, make sure what you're
- 4:47Speaker 1: working on, and you know it's it's worked out really
- 4:50Speaker 1: well for us.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Hey, for those of you that are on your phone,
- 4:54Speaker 4: it's very often or even if you don't use it much,
- 4:57Speaker 4: you should check out your wireless bill and make sure
- 4:59Speaker 4: that it is that's treating you well. It's summertime. You're
- 5:02Speaker 4: feeling good, right, AJ, But are you spending too much
- 5:05Speaker 4: on your wireless bill? And should Mintmobile get involved?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Now?

- 5:49Speaker 4: speed and coverage varies. CEE mintmobile dot com.
- 5:53Speaker 3: You guys got Kyle Tucker in that clubhouse. Hasn't been
- 5:57Speaker 3: the greatest of years for him. Everybody has down years. Obviously,
- 6:00Speaker 3: he's he's battling, he's trying to figure some things out.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Figure out ways to contribute to this team and we've
- 6:06Speaker 3: seen it. How how does the team, uh, you know,
- 6:10Speaker 3: this group that has been together for so long, how
- 6:12Speaker 3: do you kind of, you know, help keep him not motivated?
- 6:16Speaker 3: But just like like, don't worry about it. Everything's gonna
- 6:19Speaker 3: be fine. The season doesn't mean one sixty two doesn't
- 6:21Speaker 3: mean anything to the Dodgers anyways. Is about the postseason?
- 6:24Speaker 3: We know we're gonna get there. Like, how do you
- 6:26Speaker 3: kind of you know, put your arm around him and
- 6:28Speaker 3: tell them a famous Alana line here, it's going to
- 6:31Speaker 3: be great. What's the motive? Like motivation and help for Tuck?
- 6:36Speaker 1: I mean, you just just let him know that you're
- 6:38Speaker 1: there for him. You know. It's it's it's this first
- 6:42Speaker 1: year in La. You know, he's he's a cross country
- 6:45Speaker 1: from his home. Uh's first year with a new baby
- 6:48Speaker 1: for him. Uh, you know, obviously the big condition there's
- 6:51Speaker 1: a lot of things you know, going on right now,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and he has to find a way to battle through
- 6:55Speaker 1: all that. And so the biggest thing that we can
- 6:56Speaker 1: do is just let him know that we're there for him,
- 6:58Speaker 1: and you know, we have his back my matter what.
- 7:00Speaker 1: And he's part of this team. He's part of this clubhouse,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and nothing's ever going to change that. No matter how
- 7:04Speaker 1: good or bad someone plays, You're you're part of this team,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and you you're you're part of the family. And so
- 7:09Speaker 1: for us, that's always the biggest thing is just let
- 7:11Speaker 1: him know that we're there. Max.
- 7:14Speaker 2: We're going to change it to a topic that I'm
- 7:16Speaker 2: sure you're gonna love talking about. We're going to talk
- 7:18Speaker 2: about yourself and your performance this year. I know, I'm sorry,
- 7:22Speaker 2: but we got we gotta hype you up on the show.
- 7:24Speaker 2: It feels like this season you're you look at the numbers,
- 7:28Speaker 2: some of your best numbers on both sides of the
- 7:30Speaker 2: ball in the past few years. The All Star birth
- 7:32Speaker 2: you get to share that with your family. Recently celebrated
- 7:35Speaker 2: ten years of service time, which which is a huge deal.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Do you feel like this twenty sixth season is kind
- 7:41Speaker 2: of your resurgence year. What has it been like to
- 7:43Speaker 2: celebrate all of these things.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been you know, it's been a great year,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and honestly, the biggest thing that comes out of it
- 7:51Speaker 1: is I've been healthy. You know, you look at my
- 7:53Speaker 1: last couple of years and the numbers and the pace
- 7:58Speaker 1: have been very similar. It's just I haven't been healthy
- 8:00Speaker 1: and so I haven't been able to you know, put
- 8:02Speaker 1: up the numbers throughout it in an entire year. But
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, they're very similar to what they have been
- 8:06Speaker 1: in the last couple of years. It's just this year
- 8:08Speaker 1: I've been healthy and you know, that's been the biggest
- 8:10Speaker 1: thing for me. And obviously I've been way better on
- 8:11Speaker 1: defense this year too, but that's just you know, the
- 8:13Speaker 1: culmination of hard work and just the understanding of the
- 8:16Speaker 1: position and a lot of things coming fruition finally with that.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But yeah, the biggest thing for me is just just
- 8:23Speaker 1: being healthy, and that's the biggest thing that I've been
- 8:25Speaker 1: proud of this year, is you know, finding a way
- 8:28Speaker 1: to stay on the field.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yeah. The third base thing is something I wanted to
- 8:31Speaker 3: talk to you about because people talk about, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 3: Mooki moving to shortstop and the insanity of that, which
- 8:37Speaker 3: it is, the fact that he is a goal glove
- 8:39Speaker 3: shortstop just hasn't won the hard word for it. But
- 8:41Speaker 3: I like to talk about Max Munsey playing wherever this
- 8:44Speaker 3: team needs. Over nine seasons, You've been fantastic at first
- 8:48Speaker 3: base in the past, only displaced by a future Hall
- 8:51Speaker 3: of Famer and Freddie Freeman, just putting in the work
- 8:54Speaker 3: at third base, a position you vocally hated or well,
- 8:58Speaker 3: let's say maybe it's a strong word. Okay, you agree,
- 9:01Speaker 3: vocally hated. Now it's a spot where you're pretty flipping
- 9:05Speaker 3: good at it. What goes into that work? And I
- 9:09Speaker 3: think you getting good at third base. And by the way,
- 9:12Speaker 3: we're just getting going with the Mounsey glaze here. You
- 9:16Speaker 3: putting in that work. That is part of the whole
- 9:19Speaker 3: Max Munsey, as a Los Angeles Dodger, it's always about grinding,
- 9:22Speaker 3: getting better, and you see it at third base.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, look, my whole life, defense has always
- 9:28Speaker 1: been the thing that's been questioned about me. You know.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I was always told that I could hit and I
- 9:32Speaker 1: was going to do things, but defense was always the
- 9:35Speaker 1: question about me. And so that's just from an early
- 9:37Speaker 1: age I learned how to put in the work defensively.
- 9:39Speaker 1: And you know when I when given enough time, every
- 9:43Speaker 1: position I've played, I've been able to get good at.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You know, I thought I was very good at second base.
- 9:48Speaker 1: At first base, I was extremely good. I shouldn't want
- 9:50Speaker 1: I should have won a Gold Globe, but came in
- 9:51Speaker 1: second one year, and then we bring a guy, like
- 9:54Speaker 1: you said, a future Hall of Famer crew to kick
- 9:56Speaker 1: me off position the next year. You know, it's just
- 10:01Speaker 1: I understand how to work. And that's not only do
- 10:05Speaker 1: I understand how to work. I love to work. And
- 10:06Speaker 1: I feel like that's a huge thing when it comes
- 10:09Speaker 1: to it, is you have to you have to love
- 10:11Speaker 1: to work at your profession. And you know, that's something
- 10:14Speaker 1: that I've always really enjoyed. I love going out there
- 10:17Speaker 1: putting on the work because it helps you understand it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It helps you understand the game, you know the position,
- 10:22Speaker 1: how you're playing it, and I feel like it just
- 10:24Speaker 1: increases your knowledge of the game in general. And for me,
- 10:29Speaker 1: you know, baseball has always been everything, and so just
- 10:31Speaker 1: the more knowledge I can have about the game of baseball,
- 10:33Speaker 1: the better I feel about it and the better I
- 10:35Speaker 1: feel about putting myself out there and put myself in
- 10:37Speaker 1: a good position to help the team win. And you know,
- 10:39Speaker 1: that's just like I said, it's many years of hard
- 10:42Speaker 1: work and understanding, and the biggest jump was just getting
- 10:45Speaker 1: the knowledge, and a lot of that was talking with
- 10:48Speaker 1: with Mookie because when he moved to short stop, he
- 10:50Speaker 1: had to learn, you know, the knowledge of how to
- 10:53Speaker 1: play short stuff, not just going out there and putting
- 10:55Speaker 1: in the work. You know, that's something that I think
- 10:57Speaker 1: a lot of people kind of push to the side, is, Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you can go out there and take ground balls, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 1: for seven hours a day, but if you're not getting
- 11:06Speaker 1: the knowledge of how you're doing it, you know, what
- 11:09Speaker 1: what are you doing with your footwork, what are you
- 11:10Speaker 1: doing with your hands? Why should you be doing that?
- 11:14Speaker 1: You know? For me, that was that was one of
- 11:16Speaker 1: the biggest jumps. It was just kind of understanding how
- 11:20Speaker 1: my body and how I field ground balls, work work properly.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And one of those things for me was learning how
- 11:26Speaker 1: to field one handed. You know, my entire life it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: both hands, you know, gator, whatever you want to call it.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You feel the two hands, you funnel it to the body.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And for me, it was understanding that I was much
- 11:39Speaker 1: better one handed and not funneling kind of pushing through
- 11:42Speaker 1: the ball. And you know, part of the reason why
- 11:46Speaker 1: I took a couple of years to get better at
- 11:48Speaker 1: third base was you have to break a lifetime of
- 11:50Speaker 1: habits to do that.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Max, I'm gonna ask you this question knowing that I
- 11:55Speaker 2: think if I asked it to a majority of your teammates,
- 11:57Speaker 2: I think you would be the answer. But one of
- 11:59Speaker 2: the covering the Dodgers every day is that there are
- 12:03Speaker 2: no shortage of storylines because seemingly everybody is doing something incredible.
- 12:07Speaker 2: If you were going to take yourself out of this
- 12:09Speaker 2: equation and you're looking at the season so far, which
- 12:11Speaker 2: teammate stands out to you in terms of the most
- 12:14Speaker 2: impressive season you feel like they're having.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Oh man, it's tough to single guys out with this
- 12:22Speaker 1: question because there's so many guys having good years. But
- 12:26Speaker 1: you know, off the bat, I think any Piz just
- 12:27Speaker 1: jumps out there. You know, the work that he put
- 12:31Speaker 1: in defensively becoming one of the best center fielders in baseball.
- 12:36Speaker 1: He's throwing, He's one of the best throwers in baseball.
- 12:39Speaker 1: It's a cannon front arm. It's super accurate. You know,
- 12:43Speaker 1: he's he's always hitting the cutoff guy, and that's something
- 12:46Speaker 1: that you just don't see a lot with young players.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Sometimes they always want to show off the arm and
- 12:50Speaker 1: they overthrow the cut off guy. And you know, offensively,
- 12:54Speaker 1: obviously his numbers are amazing, and just for him, there
- 12:58Speaker 1: was a clear emphasis on dialing back swinging out of
- 13:02Speaker 1: the zone. I feel like he's done a really good
- 13:03Speaker 1: job of that so far this year, and he's only
- 13:05Speaker 1: getting better. He's been taking more walks, and you know
- 13:09Speaker 1: he's he's only going to continue to get better. So
- 13:11Speaker 1: for me, you know, he kind of jump off the
- 13:13Speaker 1: page for me this year, just the year that he's
- 13:15Speaker 1: been having.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Well, go ahead and fallow, all right.
- 13:20Speaker 2: This is another one. And I like to preface this
- 13:22Speaker 2: one with I usually ask about one dumb question today.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You're well aware of this by now. This one, I
- 13:27Speaker 2: feel like is for you specifically. One thing about Maximunsey.
- 13:31Speaker 2: The lore is the bat drop, and I would like
- 13:34Speaker 2: to know, because you've hit so many this year, what
- 13:36Speaker 2: goes through your mind is when you decide if it's
- 13:39Speaker 2: a bat drop, a bat toss, a bat chuck.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Is it like an out of body experience. Do you
- 13:44Speaker 2: just let the moment take over because you've had some
- 13:46Speaker 2: good ones this year?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's usually, you know, it's usually kind of just
- 13:49Speaker 1: like an emotional thing when you when you connect on
- 13:54Speaker 1: the ball and you're able to hit it to you know,
- 13:58Speaker 1: like a no doubt shot that you just know mediately
- 14:00Speaker 1: is gone right off. The bat before even seeing the trajectory. Like,
- 14:03Speaker 1: it's just a certain kind of feeling and so you know,
- 14:07Speaker 1: depending on the situation of the game, what inning you're in,
- 14:10Speaker 1: it just kind of becomes like an emotional outburst for me.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You know, I think you guys know me. Uh, I'm
- 14:15Speaker 1: not super you know, emotional on the field in terms
- 14:19Speaker 1: of you know, showing things, and so the the the
- 14:23Speaker 1: bat flip or bad drop has always been my you
- 14:26Speaker 1: go kind of outburst of emotion and it just kind
- 14:28Speaker 1: of happens. It's not planned, there's no thought behind it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: It's just whatever comes out comes out. And you know,
- 14:34Speaker 1: the only thought behind any of that for me is
- 14:36Speaker 1: always it's it's make sure you're not like throwing it
- 14:41Speaker 1: at the picture. You're not disrespecting the picture, even though
- 14:44Speaker 1: you hit hit a home run off him. It's not
- 14:46Speaker 1: about you know him, It's about you and that that
- 14:50Speaker 1: that that for me is always and that's why I
- 14:52Speaker 1: never get mad if pictures celebrate their strikeouts, it's not
- 14:54Speaker 1: about you. It's about them getting out of a situation
- 14:57Speaker 1: and they're excited about it. And you know that's a
- 14:59Speaker 1: that's a kind of how it is.

- 16:02Speaker 3: Quick quick follow on that. I'm sure you've seen. I
- 16:05Speaker 3: was a Jeffrey Yawn with with the METS. He has
- 16:07Speaker 3: the jump and the celebration. I think he's doing double
- 16:11Speaker 3: barrel like like uh, finger guns there when Like I'm
- 16:16Speaker 3: all for letting the kids play and all that. I
- 16:18Speaker 3: think baseball is fun. It's supposed to be entertaining. But
- 16:21Speaker 3: when does and we're not saying this, he is what
- 16:23Speaker 3: he's doing is too much. But when does it become
- 16:26Speaker 3: too much?
- 16:27Speaker 1: You know, that's a good question, and it's kind of
- 16:32Speaker 1: a tough question. Yeah, I feel like when it's no
- 16:39Speaker 1: longer about your performance and it's about you trying to
- 16:43Speaker 1: put on a show. And I know that's kind of
- 16:45Speaker 1: a weird statement, but like, uh, you know, if if
- 16:49Speaker 1: you give it for me, like if you're a pitcher
- 16:52Speaker 1: and you give up you know, two base hits, a
- 16:54Speaker 1: run scores, and then you get that strike out and
- 16:56Speaker 1: then you're doing the celebration, it's like, well, he didn't
- 16:58Speaker 1: really do your job, did you. You just wanted to
- 17:00Speaker 1: do something to make it a show. Now you strike
- 17:03Speaker 1: out the side cartwheel off the mound, I don't care
- 17:05Speaker 1: you well, like, you know, like it's kind of the
- 17:10Speaker 1: same thing with you know, when you when you hit
- 17:12Speaker 1: a home run, if it's a seven to one game
- 17:14Speaker 1: and you hit a solo home run to make a
- 17:15Speaker 1: seven to two and then you're you know, backpedaling around
- 17:18Speaker 1: the bases. It's like, Okay, that's not the time for that.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Like to me, it's all about kind of the situation
- 17:23Speaker 1: of the game and the circumstances leading up to it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And you know, the other thing for me too also
- 17:29Speaker 1: is a for for like starting pitchers. I never like
- 17:33Speaker 1: when starting pitchers celebrate before they're coming out of the game.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I always feel like, if we're facing a team in
- 17:40Speaker 1: the postseason and I see the guy screaming and fist
- 17:43Speaker 1: plumping in the second inning and he still have to
- 17:44Speaker 1: get through three more innings, I'm like, oh, we got
- 17:46Speaker 1: this guy. He's given up way too much emotion and
- 17:48Speaker 1: energy too early in this game. Like, we we got
- 17:50Speaker 1: this guy. So I don't like when starting pitchers do
- 17:53Speaker 1: the whole emotion in like the first or second inning
- 17:55Speaker 1: because you still got a lot of innings you got
- 17:57Speaker 1: to get through.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah, say save it for five, six, seven, then really
- 18:02Speaker 3: let out a let out a Yama moto roar. That's
- 18:04Speaker 3: what we're here for. Katie said she was gonna make
- 18:07Speaker 3: you feel a little uncomfortable. I'm gonna make it a
- 18:09Speaker 3: little bit more so. She also mentioned ten years in
- 18:12Speaker 3: the show. Again, congrats for that. That is awesome. Nine
- 18:14Speaker 3: seasons of those. Of course, in Dodger Blue, I've been
- 18:18Speaker 3: somebody who's been hard on the paint, hard in the
- 18:21Speaker 3: paint about talking about Max Munsey Dodgers legend. I know
- 18:24Speaker 3: you don't want to hear that kind of stuff, but
- 18:26Speaker 3: you look up and down franchised numbers and all this.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Of course, we've talked a whole lot this year, second
- 18:32Speaker 3: on the all time LA Dodger homer leader board behind
- 18:36Speaker 3: Eric Carross most homers and postseason franchise history at sixteen,
- 18:42Speaker 3: most walks in postseason history, sixty five postseason runs, two
- 18:46Speaker 3: things that are massively important to win in baseball games
- 18:48Speaker 3: walks and run scored forty six runs. There when you
- 18:52Speaker 3: hear and you're not done yet, you still got career
- 18:55Speaker 3: to go, thankfully, when you hear Dodgers legends, what does
- 19:00Speaker 3: that do is give you like the Ougi's is just
- 19:02Speaker 3: something like like kursh where you don't even want to
- 19:04Speaker 3: think about the numbers until you're done.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know it is something that I don't want
- 19:09Speaker 1: to think about yet. You know, I'm still in the moment,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm still still living the dream and still you know,
- 19:14Speaker 1: playing successfully. And I feel like if you sit down
- 19:18Speaker 1: and you start reflecting on a lot of that stuff
- 19:20Speaker 1: and you start thinking about, man, I'm doing this, I'm
- 19:22Speaker 1: doing that, I feel like you're you're allowing yourself to
- 19:25Speaker 1: get a little complacent with it and thinking that you've
- 19:28Speaker 1: already accomplished something, and I feel like there's still so
- 19:30Speaker 1: much more to accomplish, and uh, you know, and so
- 19:34Speaker 1: there will come a day when I can sit down
- 19:35Speaker 1: and reflect on all this and think about the career
- 19:37Speaker 1: that I've had. But it's like, you know, I still
- 19:41Speaker 1: want to keep going. We still have more championships to win.
- 19:44Speaker 1: I still have more to do in the postseason, in
- 19:45Speaker 1: the regular season, and you know, nothing for me is
- 19:49Speaker 1: accomplished yet, and uh, you know, we are getting close
- 19:53Speaker 1: to that point, but you know, it's there's still a
- 19:56Speaker 1: lot more to do. And that's kind of how I've
- 19:58Speaker 1: always felt about it, is. I don't don't like reflecting
- 20:01Speaker 1: on that stuff because then I don't have a path
- 20:03Speaker 1: forward because I'm too busy looking in the past. You know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: I want to always keep moving forward with my career
- 20:08Speaker 1: and keep keep accomplishing more and more things, and most
- 20:11Speaker 1: important to keep winning. And you know that's always been
- 20:14Speaker 1: the goal for me.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Music to Dodgers fans ears who I'm sure would have
- 20:19Speaker 2: liked to see nobody else in Dodger blue for the
- 20:21Speaker 2: rest of his career. Max Munsey, thank you so much
- 20:24Speaker 2: for joining us here on Dodger's territory. We appreciate it.
