- 0:00The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network. Hey learn the
- 0:04cable guy and you're listening to tech cock Radio. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:10tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, and I'm
- 0:14justin lemme. How you guys doing good? Good to see you. We're
- 0:17missing Matt today. What is Matt doing? Uh? I think he's driving
- 0:20out to Denver International Airport, which is like a whole day trip. I
- 0:24will say that I missed last week, but I did listen to the show
- 0:27because it my pot one of my other podcasts ended and it just went right
- 0:30into that last week's episode, and it was good, you guys, It
- 0:34was good talking about the computer builds and stuff. I really enjoyed listening to
- 0:37you. Yeah, that's right, because we wanted to We wanted to have
- 0:41you on the show because number one, we were talking about you know so
- 0:44many different things when it comes to building and you've been you've been building computers
- 0:47for years. People asking for advice when it comes to the monitors, and
- 0:51I love it when listeners send us questions. But we really wanted to know
- 0:55if you got your sweater. That was the big question, and he's Caitlin's
- 1:02actually gonna wear it to work because they have a theme. They have a
- 1:04Christmas theme week this week, so she's gonna wear it. It's so explain
- 1:08this. Microsoft has been doing this and then what do they do. They
- 1:12take some of the money and they'll donate it to, you know, a
- 1:15nonprofit or the Nature Conservatory and the Nature of Conservancy is where it's going this
- 1:19year. And how perfect, how appropriate because it has that beautiful you know,
- 1:23uh Sedona not Sedona, what is it? Sonoma? Uh? California?
- 1:30All right. Now. The funny thing is when he showed it earlier,
- 1:34he was showing me the Uh it's got a cursor on it, just
- 1:37like if you're using it, and I was trying to move my mouse get
- 1:40rid of the cursor. They have really cool it's comfy, like it's the
- 1:45perfect size, right, I got it. I got an XL because I
- 1:47just like my sweats bigger and it's the perfect fit. It came like two
- 1:51days after I heard it. But now they're completely sold out. Oh yeah.
- 1:53I went online probably within two days after we did the show where we
- 1:57talked about that, and they were completely, yes, completely sold out.
- 2:00But they have a list and I got myself added to the list, but
- 2:05I don't know if they're gonna make any more before then, you know which
- 2:07full and you definitely won't get it before Christmas. Yeah no, that's kind
- 2:12of a shame. And it's a it's a really cool sweater though. Yeah.
- 2:15No they explain what it looks like though, Oh so it if for
- 2:17those who can't see it obviously. Uh, this is the the photo the
- 2:23photograph titled Bliss, which was taken by a natural natural geographic photographer, which
- 2:30then became the default background for Windows XP. Yep, and everybody knows when
- 2:36they link up Windows XP. Yeah that the green rolling hills and the blue
- 2:39sky in the background. Yeah, the clouds, the perfect contrast between the
- 2:44green and the blue. It's like one of the most iconic computer images probably
- 2:49that exists. Now, how much how much did that set you back?
- 2:52I think was shipping It was like sixty five or seventy bucks. Yeah,
- 2:54but it's limited, so I mean, and next year they'll have something.
- 2:58Last year was Clippy, you know, the little clip clip character that you
- 3:01used to see in office. Uh, and you know, so next year
- 3:05is going to be the death That would be funny that actually would be pretty
- 3:10good, but I don't think Microsoft w want to get behind that one.
- 3:16I'd pay for just or just a picture of the old Mac with the crossed
- 3:20out eyes. Oh yeah, yeah, that would be That would be really
- 3:24good. I wanted to talk about something mening Mac before we move on.
- 3:30That we showed on our TV Tech second, which is available up on our
- 3:34blog. I haven't posted on the main website yet. We're doing a lot
- 3:38of stuff with We're trying to add stuff as often as we do it now.
- 3:42But it's from a company called easy Quest. Now, if you're a
- 3:46Mac user and I thought this would be, this would right up your alley
- 3:50shocks. I don't use Mac. Easy Quest or easyqu dot com is where
- 3:53you can find them. They make this thirteen port hub that we showed and
- 4:00it plugs into the side ports on the MacBook and then you can you've got
- 4:06a hub access to b G A, SD cards, a larger you know,
- 4:11the larger cards, memory cards. You've got USB A, you've got
- 4:16USB C, You've got uh, all kinds of really cool features for that.
- 4:21Even display port. No, No, that's that's on the other product
- 4:26I looked at. That's not a not displayports out on this one. But
- 4:29it is pretty cool, so again, if you get a chance. I
- 4:31wanted to mention them easy quests and Sean said, you're a Mac user,
- 4:34looks like something you would probably like, and don't just don't type out easy
- 4:39the word easy. It's E the letter e z quest easy q dot com
- 4:45echo quebec echo zulu quebec dot com. You know a lot of people I
- 4:48just try to try googling it and I was having a hard time finding it
- 4:51because I typed the word easy, easy quest and it wasn't coming up.
- 4:57Now, a lot of people get, you know, get accessories the holidays,
- 5:00Like, is that a good accessory to give? Is somebody a hub?
- 5:03What is it? If you're gonna give somebody a gift like an accessory?
- 5:06But what do you give them? Like, what's what's gonna be the
- 5:10gift this year to give? I mean it depends, right, are they
- 5:14a Mac user or a PC or if it's computer related, right, it's
- 5:17gonna be a peripheral, right, new mouse, new headset, new keyboard.
- 5:25If it's somebody that's using a MacBook, Justin's making a stinky face.
- 5:30No, I just don't even know, Well, you know, honestly,
- 5:34if it comes to tech, i'd go home, like home automation stuff like
- 5:39uh GOV light strips or light bulbs or something I'm really liking. GOV.
- 5:45Well, Gov's pretty cool there. Roku does something similar with their light strips,
- 5:49which is pretty neat. You could see the Gov's. You can find
- 5:51those in walmarts. They have them targets pretty much everywhere you see. One
- 5:57thing you've got to be careful of and tell me what you think about.
- 5:59This is giving somebody a Google Home Assistant or an Amazon Alexa, even if
- 6:04it's the little you know, the little Amazon Hub or uh or even a
- 6:10regular fold with a screen, the whole bit, because you have to.
- 6:14You have to judge how they feel about home automation and how they feel about
- 6:17having this in their home. There are some people who don't want this technology
- 6:21in their homes. That's very true. You don't want to buy and yet
- 6:26and well, the thing that I like to tell people when they buy the
- 6:28Amazon stuff is you have to remember it that it's enabled by default. Is
- 6:32the Amazon sidewalk? Oh yes, the Amazon Amazon Amazon sidewalk is say justin
- 6:43you have an I don't know if you have Amazon Echoes or whatever your house,
- 6:45right I have, say I walk by your house and I have the
- 6:49Amazon app on my phone. It's actively looking for other Amazon devices. So
- 6:56my phone could then connect to your Amazon device to upload at data from Amazon
- 7:01because it's sharing that information sharing Wi Fi. Are you able to connect to
- 7:06my Wi Fi through my Amazon Echoes? Not connect as in use your Internet,
- 7:13but it will push data to your Echo which will then upload you the
- 7:15m class. So it's almost like you bridge to that that Echo device and
- 7:19then it will use that to send That's the concept of sidewalk is that basically
- 7:25you could be walking down a sidewalk and if every house there has an Echo
- 7:30device or you know, Amazon electa device, you would be able to connect
- 7:32basically if you needed to to to actually use your your device for Amazon.
- 7:40And that a lot of people are a little freaked out about that. We've
- 7:43seen other attempts to do that. You know, Inconspinity does that, they
- 7:46have something very similar and I know that again that they did it with sidewalk.
- 7:53So you have to go in there and turn that off if you don't
- 7:55want to do that. I don't know who would want to do that,
- 7:57but you could turn that off. Yeah, there's there's a there's a there's
- 8:01a bunch of it, but it's it's kind of scary that what it can
- 8:05do and what it can grab without. Yeah, some people may think,
- 8:11well, uh, and there are people who do this, who buy new
- 8:13routers and they enable the guest mode by default, and you know, they
- 8:18don't put any security on it because they feel I don't I don't care.
- 8:20I'm gonna have people over. They're gonna connect by to my internet. But
- 8:24isn't that dangerous? Yeah, they're pretty dangerous. I don't like that.
- 8:28Yeah, I don't like that idea. I mean, that's the same thing
- 8:31that goes with what is it that if you got Exfinity, you know Exfinity
- 8:37They always talk about how there's millions of hotspots around the world. No,
- 8:41there's not millions of hot spots. There's millions of people that have Exfinity that
- 8:45have open connectivity to anybody that's walking by can connect to my Wi Fi router.
- 8:50Now, granted it's it's isolated in terms of v landings. So it's
- 8:54like they don't get access to your actual home internet. They can't see stuff
- 9:00inside your home, but they have access to your internet connection, so they're
- 9:05still sharing the same pipe that you do. So they might get on and
- 9:09start downloading a ton of data using this you know, quote unquote free hotspot,
- 9:18and it's actually just basically making your internet that you're paying for not work
- 9:24as well because they're taking up all the bandwidth. So yeah, I don't
- 9:28like that idea either. If I'm paying for something, if I want to
- 9:31give you access, I'll give you access. I don't want it to be
- 9:33turned on by default where anybody walking by can get access to my stuff.
- 9:37No, eck no. So I'll tell you one of the gifts that I
- 9:39think really is really good for the holidays that I think you you can't go
- 9:43wrong if you want to get to this for somebody, find out what kind
- 9:48of smartphone they have, and whether it be an Android or you know,
- 9:52an iPhone, a charger. Nobody will say I don't want a charger,
- 9:58because that's true. You can always use it. I mean, whether you're
- 10:01a battery pack, yeah, battery battery pack, would it be a Mophi
- 10:05or any of the other devices that are out there. If somebody can always
- 10:11find a way to use that, it's just it's so hard because we live
- 10:13in a world of such user customer customization, and it's hard for me to
- 10:24get a gift and go I kind of wanted that one, or I wanted
- 10:26this design, or like, everybody's used to being able to just get what
- 10:31they want when they want it, and in the design or the capacity of
- 10:35the size or shape whatever they want. So I'm not trying to sound like,
- 10:39oh I'm ungrateful that somebody got me a gift, right, But it's
- 10:41sometimes you get a gift and you're just like, I'm gonna return it and
- 10:46get the one that I want. Or see, we had the exact same
- 10:48thing this last week. I mean I had a we had a white elephant
- 10:54gift exchange at work. Those are not although it's a great time. It's
- 10:58a lot of fun, great time, a lot of alcohol getting swapped in
- 11:01and out. And do you do the flash drives with the malware, Yeah
- 11:05right, the IT director handing out malware, yeah no, I mean security.
- 11:15For those of you who don't know what a white elephant is, basically,
- 11:18you get a bunch of people from your office together or your friends or
- 11:20whatever. You all buy gifts. It's not addressed to any particular person.
- 11:24You all put them in the middle of the front of table, and then
- 11:26you draw numbers and the first person gets to pick a gift from the table,
- 11:31and that gift then is theirs. However, the next person can either
- 11:37take a fresh gift from the table or they can take the gift from the
- 11:43other person, which then that person that just got their gifts stolen from them
- 11:48has to pick again. And you just rinse and repeat all the way around
- 11:52until everybody has a gift, and then it circles back to the very first
- 11:56person because again they kind of got shafted with that very first one. They
- 12:00get to be the very last person to pick, so if they want,
- 12:05they can choose from any of the other gifts that were already opened, or
- 12:09just keep the one they were given. So anyway, we did this white
- 12:11elephant and there was probably thirty or forty of us. I think about thirty
- 12:15thirty five of US or so, and it was interesting. I personally bought
- 12:20what did I buy? I bought some laser tag it because there's a limit
- 12:24to they were like, oh, don't go over twenty five dollars. I
- 12:26was like, I think I went twenty nine. I was like, it
- 12:30wasn't a big deal, but you go to dollars like no, I got
- 12:35Amazon Black Friday, but it was a set of four laser tag things for
- 12:39people. What is that and laser tag? Don't you know laser tag?
- 12:43I don't know, like you to go play laser tag. I've never been
- 12:45to play laser tag. You wear a little like a little receiver on your
- 12:50chest and then the guns that you run around with have lasers. It's like
- 12:54infrared, right, and you shoot at each other and if you get hit
- 12:58and the little receiver on your chest then go it vibrates and says, oh
- 13:01you're out. It's just kind of like it sounds kind of fun. Yeah,
- 13:03it's it's fun. But it's a you know, it's a little four
- 13:05pack of it. You know, four people can play. So I bought
- 13:07that. That was my gift to give out to somebody else. And then
- 13:11everybody else is picking. So it comes up to my turn and I pick
- 13:15a gift. Oh no, I got my gift stolen from me. Excuse
- 13:18me, I got my first gift stolen from me. I can't remember what
- 13:20it was, right, So then I go, I go pick a different
- 13:22gift, and then I end up with a bluetooth speaker and a Tic Tac
- 13:30toe shot game, like you pour shots, you can get the name all
- 13:35over it. Yeah, well I don't do shots anymore. I'm fueled for
- 13:39that. But the bluetooth speaker, I'm like, oh this is cool,
- 13:43but I've got like five of them at home, you know, So like
- 13:46I don't I don't have any need for this. So I keep asking people
- 13:48like, oh, hey, you want to trade this for the bluetooth speaker
- 13:52or whatever. Nope, everybody kept trading for the alcohol because people were buying
- 13:56like bottles of vodka, bottles of wine, you know, Bailey's Irish cream
- 14:01gift set with cups, you know Jack Daniel's gift set with cups, you
- 14:05know, glasses or whatever. So yeah, no, I got stuck with
- 14:09the bluetooth speaker. And again, I mean, I'm grateful that everybody was
- 14:11there. We had a good time. I just personally don't have the ability
- 14:16to well, I mean I have the ability, I just don't have the
- 14:18need to use this. But what Sean was just saying, I can't return
- 14:22it. I don't have a gift for seat. Yeah, so I'm just
- 14:26stuck with it, Like I don't have any use for it. You know
- 14:28what really bothers me about this year is in our family, gift cards are
- 14:35very, very popular. And this can be whether it's a gift card to
- 14:39Cole's or you know or or you know, I was gonna say Jacon,
- 14:43Penny, Amazon or any but yeah, any But the problem is there's so
- 14:48many warnings going on right now about how gift cards are being basically hijacked.
- 14:54And they're using this this technique and I mentioned this on the show the other
- 14:58day, the Afternoon Show, But they're taking glue gun. They're so they're
- 15:01stealing them from the stores, right, So they steal them and apparently they
- 15:07use glue guns to open up the cardboard or not cardboard, but whatever they're
- 15:11in, right, Yeah, and then they'll take the card out, cut
- 15:15the top off, which has the strip that you know would be your your
- 15:20money, I would redeem it, Yeah, and then they they close it
- 15:24back up, glue it, you know, glue it back up, take
- 15:28it back to the store, and put it back on the shelf. So
- 15:30when the card is purchased, it's scanned and that money automatically goes onto the
- 15:37that that number that's been cut off and that number will then be cut off
- 15:41and put onto a you know, another card or just with that number,
- 15:45they're able to redeem that. And oh wow, that is that's become a
- 15:50big problem now for law enforcement trying to deal with all of that. So
- 15:56what is on the top of your Christmas list? Handy for me? Well,
- 16:00I you know, I tried to justify wanting a drone, the newer
- 16:07one, but that's got shot down pretty quick. I don't know, I
- 16:11really don't know. I mean, uh, that's that's a that's a tough
- 16:15one. Maybe maybe a month of of esteem or even an ex month,
- 16:22a month of a month of Hallmark plus Yeah, allmar already got it.
- 16:27I've got a story. Okay, I got a story for you guys,
- 16:32unless Sean, Unless Sean you want to interject here before I do do this.
- 16:34No, So this, this just happened. This just happened just two
- 16:38days ago. Okay, well a couple of days ago. So with our
- 16:42local, like uh, grocery store, we don't really have a lot of
- 16:45grocery stores around us, so we do have a Walmart supercenter and that's pretty
- 16:49much where we go to buy our groceries because it's the closest place, and
- 16:52it's pretty much got what we need. So we're not really super picky.
- 16:56So we just go to the Walmart supercenter. But every time we go and
- 16:59and I remember, you know, Walmart doesn't even do checkout anymore. Everything's
- 17:02self checkout. Right. There's this little old lady. She's like eighty years
- 17:07old from Pasadena. Yeah, but but honestly, this she she doesn't she
- 17:12she's not mentally eighty. I mean she's mentally like fifty. I mean she's
- 17:17she's nice, sharp right right, and she just loves Eric, my son
- 17:21Eric, and Eric loves her. And recently she told us, Hey,
- 17:26I'm I'm leaving the job. I'm going to go to a new job here.
- 17:29So we got her phone number and because we're like, oh, we
- 17:32got to keep in touch. Anyway, she texts my wife a couple couple
- 17:36days ago. Text my weapon says, hey, I want to take air
- 17:37Christmas shopping. And we're like, oh, uh okay, I mean I
- 17:42guess I mean that's you know, because she's like, I just like,
- 17:45I love Eric. He reminds he reminds me of my son who passed away
- 17:48long time ago. Whatever. Anyway, but he just he's just so sweet
- 17:52and I really I love Eric and I want to take him Christmashop and so
- 17:56like, no, that's kind of scary. No, no, no,
- 18:00no no. But we met her. We so we're like, okay,
- 18:03we'll do this. But so we met her at that walmart, right,
- 18:06the one that she you know, used to work at whatever. Come to
- 18:08find out later on, and I'll kind of spoil the story a little bit,
- 18:11but come to find out, she's like, oh, I'm coming back
- 18:12to this Walmart. I hate my new job. I'm coming back here anyway,
- 18:15So she's she's coming back to the Walmart. But anyway, so we
- 18:18met her there and you know, he ran up gave her a big hug,
- 18:19and she's super she's super hude. Just it's just adorable. And she's
- 18:22like, all right, Eric, go grab your cart. And I was
- 18:26like, wait cart, uh okay. So they start walking and she's like,
- 18:32no, I got him, I'll take care of him, you know
- 18:33whatever. I was like, nah, I'm gonna go with because I don't
- 18:36want him to go crazy and buy something stupid, you know whatever. Yeah,
- 18:38and she's like, oh, well, it doesn't matter what he wants,
- 18:41I'll buy it for him, you know. Big deal, and I'm
- 18:42thinking, okay, yeah, whatever, maybe have a NERF gun or whatever.
- 18:45You know. My wife is like, okay, I'm gonna go do
- 18:48our shopping. So she left go to the art. I'm starting to follow
- 18:51them and they're like where do you want to go First? He's like,
- 18:52oh, I want some Pokemon cards. Okay, I'm thinking, no big
- 18:56deal, right, Pokemon cards? Okay, good done. Then he's like,
- 18:59oh, I want this NERF gun. So she bought him like this
- 19:02huge Tommy gun style NERF gun. It's got a huge barrel on it.
- 19:04It's like it just it just shoots NERF like crazy. And I'm like,
- 19:08okay, that's cool. And then he picks up a little like fake lightsaber
- 19:11and he's like I want this, and you know, I'm like, okay,
- 19:14cool, that's that should be enough. And then she's like, all
- 19:17right, what else do you want? And I'm like, I don't think
- 19:19he really needs anything else, but he's obviously ignoring me, and he's like,
- 19:23let's go to electronics and I'm like, oh god, here we go.
- 19:27My favorite section. Yeah, well, my favorite section too. So
- 19:30they go over to electronics and Eric was immediately was like, I want a
- 19:33cell phone and I'm like, no, sorry, absolutely not. And you
- 19:38know, Joe the lady, the old, little old lady, She's like,
- 19:41okay, nope, that's fine. Your dad says no, I don't.
- 19:44I don't. I think you're too young for a cell phone. No.
- 19:45And then he goes, okay, I want a laptop, and I'm
- 19:49like, no, we're not doing a laptop. You know that's too expensive
- 19:52and everything. And she's like, no, it doesn't matter. It's I've
- 19:56been saving. I just want to do this for him. And I was
- 19:57like no, no, no, no, I don't. I'm so sorry.
- 20:00No laptop. I just I'm not prepared for him to be on the
- 20:03internet. And he's like, Dad, I need it for my coding class.
- 20:07I need to learn coding. And I'm like, yeah, you can
- 20:08do that on my computer. Like yeah, you don't need your own computer
- 20:11for that, Like you're too young and you're not ready for the Internet.
- 20:15And so she's like okay, well your dad says no on that, and
- 20:18he's like ah. And so I finally was like fine, just just I
- 20:21was like, go over, go over to the Xbox section, maybe by
- 20:23a controller or a game or something, because we got an x you know,
- 20:26I got the Series X at home, you know, you know,
- 20:30and so I'm like, maybe go buy a game. You know, we're
- 20:32an Xbox family. So he walks over there. He sees the Xbox Series
- 20:38S, which is, you know, like the it's the new, the
- 20:41new Xbox. But it's like it's a step down from the Series X.
- 20:45Yes, what half half the storage, not as much processing power, and
- 20:48no no DVD, no drive in it. Right, it's basically half the
- 20:52processing power, no disk drive. But this particular model had the same storage,
- 20:59just one terabyte. Oh so it's the black version of it, not
- 21:02the white version. Twelve yeah, yeah, and the black is a terabyte.
- 21:07So he's like, I want this, and I'm like, dude,
- 21:08we already have an Xbox. And she goes Joe the little lage. She
- 21:12stops me. She goes, justin, let me do this. And I
- 21:17was like, uh, okay. She bought him an Xbox Series S.
- 21:22Are they like two fifty three seventy oh my lord wow? Plus the nerf
- 21:29gun, plus the Pokemon cards, plus the lightsaber, plus some candy.
- 21:33She made her happy. Oh, it made her happy, definitely. But
- 21:36I'm like I just felt bad because it's like you know, there's so many
- 21:41kids out there right now that aren't getting anything for Christmas, and yet here
- 21:45he is getting his own presence. She spent more on him than we did,
- 21:48like like I mean, but now he's got his own Xbox. So
- 21:53now we have my Xbox in the basement right next to me. Here we
- 21:57have his Xbox on the main floor. Or and now when his friends come
- 22:00over, they split each other up and down, so now they can play
- 22:04all the same game at the same time on two different xboxes. So he
- 22:08brings over like four friends and he's like two in the basement. Yeah,
- 22:11pretty much. It's pretty much a land party. Two in the basement,
- 22:15two upstairs, and it's just kids running around playing Minecraft. And oh and
- 22:19another thing too, is I I finally got Eric. I was like,
- 22:22you know what, dude, there are so many other games besides Minecraft.
- 22:25You don't have to play Micro. You can play anything. And he didn't
- 22:27want to play anything else. He's like, no, I want Minecraft,
- 22:30It's all I want. I started playing Goat Simulator three on the Xbox.
- 22:34I remember that last year you were playing it? Well, I was that
- 22:37was that was like Goat Stimulator two. I think the new one came out
- 22:41on the Xbox. How could that get any better? Dude? It is
- 22:44so much fun. I was laughing my butt off. I mean I was
- 22:47so I was so laughing. What why well did it You ran me over
- 22:53with the director? Oh yeah the farming simulator? Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 22:57don't run over your friends justin Yeah, well you should have been standing in
- 23:00the middle of the cornfield, dummy barn. Oh yes, so Goat Simulator.
- 23:07Is that available on the Xbox Game Pass? Yes, it is.
- 23:11It's on game Pass. It's free. So anyway, I was playing it
- 23:12and I'm laughing my butt off and Eric's like, what is that? And
- 23:15I'm like, Goat Simulator and he's like, I want to try. He
- 23:18now all he wants to play is Goat Simulator. It is the funnest,
- 23:22stupidest game in the world. It is so stupid, but it is so
- 23:27much fun. You literally play as a goat and you can jump around,
- 23:32you can headbut people, you can shoot flaming fish at people, like I
- 23:37mean, it's just it's fun. It is ridiculously stupid, but it is
- 23:41so much fun. I have a feeling if I am able to get game
- 23:44Pass for the holidays, I think I will play that before I play flight
- 23:48simulator. Oh, yes, under should because it is so much fun,
- 23:52right, it is so much all right now, Sean asked me a question
- 23:56like what tech gift is at the top of my list? And now I
- 24:00told I don't know if I could come up with one. When I was
- 24:03in the hospital about a month and a half ago, I took my charger
- 24:08that was the best charger in the world. I love this charger, and
- 24:11I remember I was in my room, so I plugged it into the room
- 24:15there. Well, I just realized where it is. It's in that hotel,
- 24:18that the hospital room. It's probably they lost and found. I got
- 24:22to follow up with them, but it was one hundred dollars charger. Oh
- 24:26gosh. So, Sean, how about you, what would be on the
- 24:29top of your list? I did. I did build a list. So
- 24:30I've built a handful of computers in the recent the last six months, I've
- 24:36probably built three computers from my friends and my coworkers. And my friend Steve
- 24:41brought down. We had to dust a little bit of one of my friend's
- 24:44computers, and he handed me this wireless PC brushless compressed air duster. It's
- 24:52a rechargeable duster that blows air with a brush on it. Wow, and
- 24:59it was spent. It didn't it's it's not strong enough to blow the jumpers
- 25:03off of a board or anything like that. It's it's it's I mean,
- 25:06you could crank it up if you really wanted to, but it's not.
- 25:07It's like a like a like a blow dryer, except no heat kind of
- 25:12but it's not. Yeah, but it's not that big. It's it was
- 25:15really compact. It had but you could change out. You could change out
- 25:18the nozzles so you could have a big brush small How cool is that something
- 25:22between yours? Something? And it was rechargeable. So I was like,
- 25:27that's on the top of my list. Uh, And then I did put
- 25:30it on another things. I need a RAM upgrade from my computer. I
- 25:33need it. I want a larger electronics toolkit from I fix It, you
- 25:38know some other stuff. Their kits are great. I fix it there.
- 25:41Their toolkits are great. They have every everything you could consider you need to
- 25:47to access the computer. But then the one other one I put on there
- 25:51was a a three and one iPhone watch and air pod charger and you can
- 25:59hang your watch on it and your watch actually slides in and becomes like your
- 26:03your clock at night if you wanted it to. Yep, belk it.
- 26:06I think makes that right about Android? Yeah, yeah, I have one
- 26:11for Android that does that. I can charge my my Pixel buds, my
- 26:14Pixel watch, and my Pixel phone all on one device. One of the
- 26:17things if anybody gets this, Sean gets this blower, which sounds really cool.
- 26:22To remember that if you're going to clean the fans like on your CPU
- 26:25cooler or to hold your fan, you have to hold this what doesn't spin
- 26:30because a lot of people just like, oh, look at it, spin,
- 26:30look at it. Spin. You can actually damage you're not cleaning.
- 26:33Yeah, well you know you're you're free spinning the bearings and that's your You're
- 26:37spinning it without applying electricity to do it, which could fry it. Slow
- 26:41mo guys on YouTube, Yeah, put put a fan one hundred and twenty
- 26:45milimeters fan in front of a leaf blower. Oh no, and es,
- 26:49Oh my god, I want to see Wait that's on YouTube. Who's who's
- 26:55the guys the slow mo guys? Yeah, slow mo guys. I love
- 26:59leaf leaf blower fan. All Right, we're gonna take a quick break.
- 27:02Something has finally been announced, and we kind of wondered about it this year
- 27:06because we were looking forward to it, and then it went away, and
- 27:08now it is kicking the pants. Yeah, it a big kick in the
- 27:12pants. It is dead. So I'll tell you what is dead. Coming
- 27:15up here on tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Shonda Weird,
- 27:19and I'm justin. Let me send us an X at tech talk Radio.
- 27:23We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio. So another nostalgic
- 27:30thing. Yeah, G four TV went offline. Come on, what are
- 27:37you doing me, man, I'm throwing you back to another moment in gaming
- 27:42history. Yeah, and they keep G four TV went off the air,
- 27:47but t was great. They keep saying that G four is going to come
- 27:49back talking about it. They can't. They can't compete with streamers in the
- 27:55Internet. It's just it's not Bob, there's so many channels up there.
- 27:57Just throwing a single platform dedicated to one thing just really doesn't exist anymore.
- 28:03If they brought back Olivia Mon oh yeah, all right. I was more
- 28:08of an Adam Susser guy. Yeah, you know, G four was great.
- 28:14It got me through the college and in part, you know, the
- 28:18beginning of my career, it was great. It was always good. You
- 28:19got really great news and they did great segments, and then it kind of
- 28:22turned into a TV show slash YouTube channel, and then it got pushed out
- 28:27of the web and then they couldn't support the TV channel anymore. So that
- 28:32was one of those moments in history where the gaming industry kind of in terms
- 28:36of a here's a dark day, dark day for journalism in the news and
- 28:41for the gaming industry. Do you think maybe it's because I'm just wondering,
- 28:45do you think maybe it's because we're so tech savvy that we watched so much
- 28:48content on YouTube and Instagram and and some of the other sources that are out
- 28:52there on Twitch. They wouldn't cause people tech savy. Well, I think
- 28:56most in most cases, I'm thinking for the audience that would be attack of
- 29:00the show or even G four that we wouldn't watch a dedicated channel. You
- 29:06know, the long form produced content can't. It's not marketable anymore. Too
- 29:11many people have ADHD. They want short form content. They just want they
- 29:15want one to two three minute segments and that's it, right. So long
- 29:19form produced content is it's expensive because the quality is much higher than streamers on
- 29:29YouTube, right, and journalism if that's what you want to call it nowadays,
- 29:34yeah, no, it's so easy for people to get information much faster
- 29:40from their favorite streamer. Dude, journalism nowadays all it is is is bots
- 29:45that are scraping Reddit for comments and then generating stories based on that and then
- 29:49publishing these stories. And that's what journalism is nowadays. I can't standardize.
- 29:55I have to agree to a certain part because honestly or disagree because PC I
- 30:00still will say, you know what, most of their content PC Mag,
- 30:03and they're articles that I've read. I'm half satisfied with those. There have
- 30:07been some other ones that have come out that I read. Wait, this
- 30:11is just clickbait, you know where, most of the way the way it's
- 30:15written. But PC mag has been pretty good, so I will say that.
- 30:18So there's still journalists that are working hard trying to get the tech stories
- 30:22out there. Well, don't get me wrong, there are definitely still some
- 30:26good journalists out there. I mean all the way from your local news station
- 30:30even up to cable news networks. They are good journalists out there. The
- 30:36problem is it's not them, it's the company itself. Is like nope,
- 30:40nope, we can sell more advertising if we do it this way. And
- 30:44these good journalists are just drowned out by all the clickbait bs articles that they
- 30:49that generate more money for them. So yeah, real journalists just can't survive
- 30:56anymore. I'm so disappointed when I go online and whether it be on X
- 31:00or even just news dot Google or even MSN, you know, news,
- 31:04and I'll go on and I'll see a story wow, and I'll click it,
- 31:08and it is just takes forever to get to the point. You have
- 31:11to scroll through the ads. Oh come on, man. The worst are
- 31:15cooking recipes. You go to look up a cooking recipe, you got to
- 31:21scroll through about ten to fifteen ads and an entire life story about Nana and
- 31:27her ancient recipe that she handed down through the ages before you can ever get
- 31:33to the actual recipe you're looking for. And then it's pretty quick. Yeah,
- 31:37yeah, yeah, it's it's it's disappointing, all right. So G
- 31:40four, Yes, that was sat circle back around. Wait, hold on,
- 31:44I gotta tell you something though. This is a this is a story
- 31:47of irony. I waited for G four for so long for it to come
- 31:52to my cable system that I was subscribing to when I lived in Coachella,
- 31:56right, and I remember when that it finally went on, And wouldn't you
- 32:00know, it was probably maybe a month later. I got the job to
- 32:05come out here to Tucson, and I had to leave Coachella and where I
- 32:09when I came out here, it wasn't available, so I had for like
- 32:14what maybe a month anyway, So there you go, Sorry about that.
- 32:17So G four was a great place for people to get resources for their games,
- 32:21right, and then E three are in the gaming world, the Electronics
- 32:27is Entertainment Expo, I think three and I've been, I've been. So
- 32:31it was just was just a mecca for gaming news. Once a year E
- 32:37three it was the who's who of gaming came and announced new products and they
- 32:44had new games, vendors and demos and new games and all this stuff.
- 32:47Celebrities. Well, yeah, it was. It was this huge, huge,
- 32:52huge thing that was the staple of gaming journalism and gaming information. And
- 32:58it wasn't even open to the public. It was only opened two qualified journalists.
- 33:02Yeah we would, we went tech talk radio. Uh no, when
- 33:06I didn't, well you weren't with the show back then. When we were
- 33:08in Pumps and I remember, oh, yeah we did. I did go
- 33:12one year when you were a part of the show. But go to LA
- 33:15and I remember I went with Mike and Bill uh one year, the original
- 33:20guys we did the show with. And you would go and they would say,
- 33:23you want to see you want a preview. You would see a preview
- 33:25before anybody else. Oh, you wanna be on the web. You would
- 33:29see it there peripherals, you would see gaming mice, you would see you
- 33:32know, I want to say, I think Razor was there. They announced
- 33:36the Xbox at E three, like the original Xbox, like nobody thought Microsoft.
- 33:42Everybody was like, wait, Microsoft, is that E three? What
- 33:45are they doing there? And then boom announcing the Xbox? Like what I
- 33:50mean? That was? That was insane? Yeah and yeah, so they
- 33:53it started in nineteen eighty five, right, and then in twenty sixteen they
- 33:59had we opened it to the public and it kind of became a larger thing.
- 34:02So it just grew and grew and grew. But once once COVID happened
- 34:09and everybody went to their own format, right, Xbox did their own thing,
- 34:16Sony did their own thing. They did online. I would argue it
- 34:22was even before COVID, but yeah, COVID was kind of the final nail
- 34:25in the coffin. Hence why I kind of started with the G four story,
- 34:29right, is that it's trending to internet based things. Right. It
- 34:35can help a vendor like Microsoft or Sony Activision whoever keep all of their stuff
- 34:42internally prevent leak's, curate their own content to their own audiences instead of curating
- 34:49it to everybody. Because granted E three was great, it was this huge
- 34:52thing, but you have the people who like Sony, you have the people
- 34:55like Xbox. Now Xbox can just cater to their own audiences. Yeah,
- 35:01in a much easier platform, and it's free the West. And think about
- 35:07this, Save Microsoft. Save Microsoft is going to hold this conference, right
- 35:13and say maybe they want to do it in person, right, So they
- 35:15do it, and then they have all of the people that provide games under
- 35:20the Xbox brand or add ons under the Xbox brand. They can then charge
- 35:24them booth space. So you come on out, you're gonna be You're gonna
- 35:29meet all these people that are buying Xboxes or you know, marketing the Xbox
- 35:32and be able to so it becomes almost like an E three just for Xbox
- 35:38exactly, same with PlayStation, same with same with Valve. You know,
- 35:43they're doing their their handheld there. Yep. So I just looked at I'm
- 35:45on the Wikipedia page because I was just kind of trying to find some fun
- 35:49facts. Nintendo was the first one to not do a showcase at E three
- 35:53and that was in twenty thirteen. Wow, I thought it was just recently.
- 35:59That was when they started their Nintendo dres well. Yeah, but also
- 36:02like, okay, think about Nintendo and in twenty thirteen, it was pretty
- 36:07much the Wei and the We We You was just coming out, I think,
- 36:10or twenty fifteen was when the WU came out. I think, so
- 36:14they had the they didn't even have the switch, Like the Switch wasn't just
- 36:16a pipe dream at that point. Yeah, So for the Nintendo to bail
- 36:21out at that time, like Nintendo was not doing that well with the Wii
- 36:27and the WU, especially the WU. Like I could see them bailing out
- 36:31to announce the switch because the Switch was a massive success for them. But
- 36:37at at twenty thirteen, Wow, I mean that's do you think that bliz
- 36:40con kind of spun off for me? Three? I mean, is that
- 36:44I mean, there's bliz Con, There's Guardian Con, There's I mean,
- 36:47there's there's there's I mean, there's just a ton of different Dungeon and Dungeon
- 36:52and a Dragon Con just for for those who play that D and D con
- 36:55even even look at them, even look at Comic Con. Comic started to
- 37:00become E three because Comic Con. When I went to Comic Con in San
- 37:05Diego in let's see what year was that. Yeah, yeah, it was
- 37:08a twenty twenty twelve. I want to say I went to I think it
- 37:14was a twenty twelve. When I went to Comic Con. It was great
- 37:15picture of me and Justin from that comic co oh yeah see oh yeah,
- 37:20oh yeah, me and you and Carl and I think somebody else too.
- 37:22Yeah. We were all drinking at like nine am in the morning. But
- 37:25yeah, yeah it was great. But even then, it was like it
- 37:30was like an E three because remember Sean Saints Row had a huge booth talking
- 37:35about the new video games Saints Row. What does that have to do with
- 37:37comics? Like it was all it was all just big yeah yeah, no
- 37:45not anymore. It evolved into that. Yeah, but yeah, because and
- 37:47what I really felt bad about comic Con. Going to comic Con, all
- 37:52the actual comic book artists were kind of stuck in the back corner, like
- 37:58and it was just if I felt bad for them. It's like, guys,
- 38:00you were the reason we created this event, and you guys are kind
- 38:04of stuck in the back room. Like nobody puts baby in a corner?
- 38:07Like what Kate pop quiz what movie is that? From Dirty Dancing? There
- 38:13you go. I will honestly say, though I have still never seen it.
- 38:15I just know the quote. Oh gosh, I've never ever seen it.
- 38:20So we're talking here about E three, we're talking about you know.
- 38:23It was held in Los Angeles. It was huge this year. Was the
- 38:27big surprise this year was it was gonna happen back in May or June.
- 38:32Look at this picture with dark helmet. Yeah wow, I looked, dude.
- 38:40I was so much fatter back then. Oh my god, give me
- 38:44bick. Then it's all the beer we drank. Well that's that too,
- 38:47Yeah we did. I was pretty drunk at that time. Now this is
- 38:52a comic Con, right, Yeah, I don't even remember that. I
- 38:57was probably there's the pig. Sure, I'm thinking of nine in the morning.
- 39:01My friend Carl, Is that you in the middle. Yeah, look
- 39:06at that, dude. I was probably forty forty pounds later than I am
- 39:09right now. You can see the picture available up on our our website or
- 39:15blog site. You'll be able to check that out. There a trip back
- 39:19into the past of Comic Con twenty twelve. So oh yeah, was it?
- 39:22Was it twenty twelve? M Yeah, okay about I'm looking at these
- 39:27pictures. You know, Battlestar was big, the TV series back then Mad
- 39:30Magazine. Oh wow, yeah, that's that's the hobbitbbit. Well let's let's
- 39:36get back to three though, you know, talking about it. Yeah,
- 39:38uh, and that it was big and it was huge, and you know,
- 39:43again you could only go if you were part of the press, and
- 39:45again we got that opportunity to go. I'll never forget Bill was really tired.
- 39:51Bill. Bill. Bill ended up just passing it, not passing out,
- 39:54but laying down on the floor. And Bill was a big guy.
- 39:58And I remember I'm interviewing some guy from Microsoft and the look on his face
- 40:01he thought Bill had passed out because there he was, just sprawled out on
- 40:05the floor. And I mean, great memories from that. I'm the the
- 40:09the part about it being May June this year, one of them pulled out,
- 40:14then another one, then another one, then another, all the big
- 40:16guys Microsoft and then Sony, and everybody was thinking, wait, wait,
- 40:21how is this gonna continue? And they were late. They were We're still
- 40:24gonna do it, We're still gonna do it. And finally they said we
- 40:28can't do it today. Yeah as record back then they said, oh they
- 40:31couldn't do it. Yeah, Well, so get to get to the point
- 40:34what we're trying to make now, going back to E three, they just
- 40:37announced on Tuesday that E three is done, like everybody kind of expected it
- 40:42like this point, like it's just E three is officially done. They're not
- 40:46going to try at all, No, not even online. They're done this
- 40:52just it just can't They can't make the money they used to. They can't
- 40:54draw the big the big advertising dollars, they can't draw the big vendors because
- 40:59it's so much cheaper for these companies to do it on their own. I
- 41:04mean, it's just it's just a reality, right, And a lot of
- 41:07times you're gonna find more uh I isolated coverage from your favorite YouTube streamer.
- 41:12That's a that's a quote unquote journalist who's gonna go to E three and they're
- 41:16just gonna cover and people are gonna watch that person instead of watching the official
- 41:21E three coverage. So it's like why, why why they're not making any
- 41:23money? So I get it. Do you think some of the game developers
- 41:27now will be feeding the game to some people like you know, and I
- 41:30want to say, I'll just dark you know, Darkness for two nine Ryce
- 41:34stream all these guys. Will they be feeding these game titles to them to
- 41:37let them preview it or will they do their own? They do? They
- 41:42do? Yeah, And that's that's that's part of like the frustration of being
- 41:45a video gamer right now is that, like, so let me use the
- 41:50new World of Warcraft Classic and the new the new version of that call Season
- 41:53Discovery, which is new content, new experiences, things like that. Everybody
- 42:00body just wants to go play with the streamers. Yeah, because they get
- 42:05access to stuff, they get to play it. They're gonna be the ones
- 42:07that are pushing the content. Right. It makes it no fun for the
- 42:12rest of us because the content's over eighteen nineteen hours because they're just seen it
- 42:16through it. But other you know, it's free money. Free advertising for
- 42:22these companies to give previews to their streamers, their influencers across pretty much every
- 42:30platform because the reach is so huge, right yeah, yeah, well look
- 42:34at look at the Remember we also interviewed him on the show Riya's stream.
- 42:37You know, he's not a he's not a very big streamer, you know,
- 42:39bye by today's study following, though he's got a good following. But
- 42:44he also is a very niche streamer because he usually only plays like simulation style
- 42:49games, which, by the way, going back to my very first story,
- 42:53he refuses to play Goat Simulator, which I'm still trying to get him
- 42:59to play, but he refuses to play it. But anyway, but no,
- 43:00but he will get he will get early access to certain games because he's
- 43:05a well known simulation streamer. So a lot of these indie companies, you
- 43:10know, these indie developers will send him their game coming out on Steam or
- 43:15whatever, usually it's Steam, and they'll be like, hey, man,
- 43:19can you can you just play this for a while, and that company usually
- 43:22gets a lot of you know, a pretty decent I say decent sized chunk
- 43:29of extra profit because he is showcasing that game. And then therefore all of
- 43:34his viewers are like, oh my god, I gotta get this game.
- 43:36Well, it's also good for the streamer too, because then the companies can
- 43:39get behind them and say, hey, you want to see our game,
- 43:42go to this streamer. You'll be able to watch it there. Yeah,
- 43:44watch it on twitch or whatnot. All right, I'll tell you what.
- 43:46There is a game though, that has been being talked about this week.
- 43:49We got to take a break. We come back. We're going to talk
- 43:51about this and why they pulled the wool over some people's eyes. That's with
- 43:55more people, that's with more of tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 44:00I'm sean to Weird, and I'm justin. Let me find us on the
- 44:02interwebs tech talk radio dot com. We'll be right back now, back to
- 44:07tech talk Radio. So, probably the most wish listed game on Steam for
- 44:15the PC for video games finally got released a few days ago. And this
- 44:20game has been on steams basically the top of the wish list for all players
- 44:24for the past two, maybe even three years. It was called The Day
- 44:29Before and the developers which was called Fantastic Studios. They promoted this game as
- 44:37an open world MMO survival explain to our listeners to MMO. Yeah, open
- 44:43world just means you can go wherever you want, do whatever you want to
- 44:45do, right, just like real life or like dev Redemption two. How
- 44:49that was that was an open world? Right? Open world yep, or
- 44:52like even World of Warcraft kind of open world. Right. But MMO is
- 44:54a massively multiplayer online again like World of Warcraft, you're playing with hundreds,
- 45:00if not thousands of other real individuals. But the thing was is this was
- 45:05also survival game, so it was supposed to be kind of like the old
- 45:09game called Dais where it was like you get you're basically in a survival aspect,
- 45:15it's kind of open world, but you're fighting a bunch of zombies.
- 45:17So this was supposed to be kind of like that, and they said this
- 45:21is an open world MMO. They launched it late last week and it immediately
- 45:29became one of the most hated games on Steam because gamers that bought it that
- 45:35wish listed it for the longest time and finally got to play it realized this
- 45:38is not an MMO, This is not open world. This is like an
- 45:43extraction shooter, kind of like Escape from Tarkov or The Division or whatever,
- 45:49like the company that made this game completely pulled the wool over everybody's eyes.
- 45:53And this was not the game that they promised. I mean people were playing
- 45:57it going, am I am I sure that I even bought the right game?
- 46:00Like this was nothing compared to what they were promised. How can you
- 46:05tell, you, guys play a lot of games. How can you tell
- 46:08an open world type game versus a game like say calledge Study. So an
- 46:14open world type of game, it's easy to tell. Because open world type
- 46:16of game you just put into the world and you just get to go wherever
- 46:21you want to go. If you want to go do this quest, go
- 46:22do it. If you want to go do that quest, go do it.
- 46:24Whereas a linear game is like you put into the world and it's like,
- 46:29okay, follow this marker to your next quest objective, and then you've
- 46:32got to go there. You can't do anything else until you do that quest
- 46:36objective. That's a linear game. Open world means I can go wherever I
- 46:40want to go, whenever I want, and do whatever I want to do.
- 46:44Got it? This was not the game they were promised. It got
- 46:46so bad that over the course of two days that the game the game studio
- 46:53first off, they shut down their Discord server that was their official like player
- 46:59support channel. Well, all of their volunteer moderators quit because they were they
- 47:05couldn't deal with the amount of hate that they were getting on the Discord.
- 47:07They shut down the Discord channel. Then a day later they they removed the
- 47:15game from Steam, like you can't even buy it anymore on Steam because it
- 47:19was such bad reviews. And third the actual studio themselves closed their doors,
- 47:24shut down, and skipped out of town. So all the rest of the
- 47:29money with them, all these people that bought the game, they're not going
- 47:31to get refunds for this game, right, Well, it depends because Steam
- 47:35depends. Yeah, it depends Steam. Steam usually will give you a refund
- 47:38if you haven't played more than an hour of the game. If you played
- 47:43more than an hour of a game, then you have to do a case
- 47:45by case basis where Steam might give you a refund. But I believe in
- 47:52this case, they're giving everyone refunds for the game, which then makes the
- 47:57studio they've made no money. They've they've spent all this money hiring developers quote
- 48:02unquote, I guess developers and programmers, and they have nothing to show for
- 48:07because they're not making any money on the game, because they've shut the game
- 48:09down. They shut the studio down, the developers have they're they're not existent
- 48:14anymore. They shut all their social media down. They just they just they
- 48:17disappeared. They pulled the rug out from underneath so many people after they bought
- 48:22this game and realized this is not the game we were promised. Was this
- 48:25a premium game as far as pricing or was it yes, sixty bucks?
- 48:30Has this ever happened before, not to this scale, not that I recall
- 48:36down. Yeah, there's a really great article on PC gamer of the entire
- 48:39process of what happened with this game so and how fast people noticed read that.
- 48:45Well, while sewn is kind of coming up to speed on that,
- 48:46let me let me give you an example of this happening in the past,
- 48:50however, not this bad. So uh. First off, the first one
- 48:53I can remember is No Man's Sky. No Man's Sky was released and everybody
- 48:58hated it because they said, oh, this was ssed to be multiplayer,
- 49:00They're supposed to be procedurally generated, and all this stuff happened, and the
- 49:04developers like, look, we're trying, but the publisher, the ones that
- 49:07give them the money was like, no, you must release this now,
- 49:12you have to release this now. And they're like, the game's not finished,
- 49:15and they're like, we don't care, release it. I remember that.
- 49:17And so they released it and they got super negative reviews. But because
- 49:22of that, the publisher dropped No Man's Sky. But the developer said,
- 49:27you know what, We're not done with this. This is this is a
- 49:30labor of love, and they spent time and their own money. They got
- 49:34a new publisher, they got they came out, and they made No Man
- 49:37Sky one of the best games of all time because they had the time and
- 49:40money to do it. After this initial publisher pulled out. Another example I
- 49:45can think of is Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven. I was wondering about this game
- 49:49was hugely promoted. I mean it was supposed to be the biggest thing.
- 49:52I mean, they had Keanu Reeves in the game, and when the game
- 49:55came out, it was so buggy it was literally unplayed and CD Project Read
- 50:01had to go back to the drawing board and redo it. And now after
- 50:06update after update after update, Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven again is one of the
- 50:10best games of all time. But this company could have done that, but
- 50:15they decide, you know what, no, we're just done. We're done.
- 50:17We just closed the doors. There was another one that I thought of
- 50:22all you were talking about anthem anthem. I don't even remember anthem? What
- 50:27anthem? Anthem? Anthem was? Uh? E A made it? It
- 50:30was the first person shooter Eyah, it was the publisher. EA was the
- 50:35publisher. I do remember by Aware made it and it was awful? Right,
- 50:44yeah, just was not it? This was not good? Well see
- 50:49that that that goes to the thing is this is this is this happens over
- 50:52and over and over and over again. We're publishers again. Publishers are the
- 50:58ones with the money. They're the ones that just the timeline. The developers
- 51:02cannot keep up with the publisher's demands and they time after time they release games
- 51:08that aren't ready, they're not playable, or they just have really bad bugs.
- 51:14But publishers don't seem to care. When is it going to get through
- 51:16their thick skulls. But is in this case were they self publishing or did
- 51:21they have a publisher behind them? It kind of makes I would think that
- 51:25they're self publishing the game in this respect because that's why they're able to close
- 51:30their doors and say sorry, sayonara, we we're out of here. Prop
- 51:35night. Oh no, that's another title. Sorry, excuse me. I
- 51:37don't know if they were self publishing. I don't know, if I don't
- 51:40wonder reft the look into that. All right, we're going to take another
- 51:43quick break. So that game title, so it's not available called the day
- 51:46before, the day before, Yeah, and it's two days after it's not
- 51:52available. There you go. This is tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor,
- 51:55I'm Sean de Weird, and I'm Justin Lemon. You can also find
- 51:59us on faceboo agat facebook dot com forwarge slash. Tech Talkers will be right
- 52:02back and now fact to tech talk Radio. We did not find out from
- 52:07Justin though, what is the piece of technology that you would like to get?
- 52:12Oh gosh, super simple. I would like a laptop table. I
- 52:15guess you could say, like, so I can sit in my lazy boy
- 52:17with my gaming laptop, which you know has some thick fans on it and
- 52:21stuff. So I can't put the laptop of my lap because it blocks the
- 52:24fan ports. So they have like a gaming laptop table that I can sit
- 52:30over my legs and it would keep it level where I can put my laptop
- 52:34on top of that. That's the piece of technology. I guess it's not
- 52:37really technology related, but it kind of is. That's the one thing I
- 52:40would like for Christmas. Uh, Cyberboss. Have you looked at theirs?
- 52:44Their products? They make a whole line of products just for that doing that
- 52:47kind of thing. I don't think I have that would that would probably work
- 52:52out. So you might want to you know, leave that around for me
- 52:53sit to see. Oh yeah, definitely. The other thing is it might
- 52:58it stretches a little. They may have a smaller model, but it might
- 53:01stretch a little more. No, I want it bigger because I want I
- 53:05want a bigger because I want to be able to put my mouse next to
- 53:07it, you know. On the tables. The Cyberboss table actually has a
- 53:09groove in it so you could put your smartphone. It's got a cup holder,
- 53:14it's got a slotted vents underneath the actual wood itself, so you put
- 53:19your gaming laptop on there, and that would have the air conduct down.
- 53:22So again it's not blocking any airways. A lot of people think, oh,
- 53:24I'll just you know, use my laptop in bed and that bad choice,
- 53:29Your bad, bad choice, your blocking the air. I want to
- 53:31show you one product that I think a lot of people want. Surprised me
- 53:35how many people like this. I showed this on TV. This from Logitech.
- 53:38This is a gaming mouse and it's got the theme of the Moneium Falcon
- 53:44on here. That's so cool and it's a pretty neat You turn it on
- 53:47and it colors up, you know, and it's like the engine for the
- 53:51Falcon. It's got the drawing on it. But this is a true gaming
- 53:53mouse, ultra precision. It's got the wheel on the top, the programmable
- 53:59buttons on it. But what I love is on the bottom of this.
- 54:01You might be able to find others like this. You can, yeah,
- 54:07you could see that it actually has a little adapter so that you could put
- 54:10this on. Logitech has these gaming mice pads that are out there that can
- 54:15be powered. So you put this on that mousepad and it will charge while
- 54:20it's sitting on the pad. Because I don't know if you guys have done
- 54:22this where you you work for you know a few days and you're fine and
- 54:27then you go to you'll reuse your mouse and it's out of battery so well
- 54:31that I can. The only dost I can think to that is is if
- 54:35you're trying to use your mouse when it is charged, you know that that
- 54:37that charging port is likely magnetic. I don't want my mouse getting stuck on
- 54:43the magnet when I'm trying to move it around. Yeah, on the mousepad,
- 54:45yeah, I don't know how. I don't know how that would work.
- 54:47That could be an issue unless you just run it while you're sleeping at
- 54:51night, you know, just leave it on and it charges. I guess
- 54:53that could. Yeah. But so but then when you start to move your
- 54:55mouse around, it's still gonna get caught on that magnetic air. Yeah.
- 55:00I don't know if you could turn that off. Yeah, that's interesting,
- 55:02but I know that they have that. So again, the mouse sells for
- 55:05about one hundred and I want to say, is it one hundred and fifty
- 55:07bucks? But you know it's people love the fact that it's all Star Wars.
- 55:12Yeah, of course you're paying. You're paying like fifty bucks extra right
- 55:15there, just for the Star Wars stuff. You can find it on their
- 55:16website Logitech dot com. That is it for this week's show. I'm Andy
- 55:21Taylor. I'm Sean de Weird, and I'm Justin Lemme. Once again,
