“Move over Birkin. Watch out Chanel. There’s a new apex predator.” OF LUXURY GOODS. A luxury bag made of T-rex leather was unveiled earlier this year at Amsterdam Art Zoo Museum. The leather was made by taking some collagen remnants found in a 68-million-year-old T-Rex femur bone, and smooshing them with some cells to grow T-Rex skin. That skin was then turned into leather, dyed a bluish-grey and ‘crafted’ into a luxury handbag. Experts are predicting it will sell for the amount of ‘ten Birkin Bags’.
