- 0:38Speaker 3: He good enough to let us come.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Hang out and do the show here every home game
- 0:43Speaker 4: on Thursdays during the football season, trail.
- 0:45Speaker 5: What's going on?
- 0:45Speaker 3: How we're doing?
- 0:46Speaker 5: Good morning, Good morning, I've been good, Everything's good.
- 0:49Speaker 4: How was How was the l s U Florida game?
- 0:52Speaker 4: Because I was here in the shop that morning.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Very cool?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Uh College game day was on. You had people all
- 0:58Speaker 3: around you.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Set up the car off your bar for us, which
- 1:01Speaker 4: was very very cool. So it was a great vibe
- 1:03Speaker 4: in the store. How was setting up for one of
- 1:06Speaker 4: those big time LSU Florida games.
- 1:08Speaker 6: We are very blessed with our relationship with LSU. We
- 1:11Speaker 6: have seven locations on campus. On a day likes last Saturday,
- 1:15Speaker 6: so we were wide open with employees running around setting
- 1:19Speaker 6: up locations and stands. And we did more sales in
- 1:22Speaker 6: a four hour period than we did all last months.
- 1:25Speaker 7: Where do you where do you pull from your talent
- 1:26Speaker 7: pool for employees? I mean, I'm sure you kind of
- 1:29Speaker 7: got to like beef it up a little bit for
- 1:30Speaker 7: game days, but it's not like an everyday deal where
- 1:32Speaker 7: your pulling the talent from LSU.
- 1:35Speaker 5: So there you go.
- 1:36Speaker 6: It's a very easy hiring process, uh politically, just you're hired.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Yes, can you hey lift that box? Yeah, you got
- 1:46Speaker 3: in the air.
- 1:46Speaker 5: You're hired. Very easy, ready to go.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I got sent us like a ton of pictures like
- 1:53Speaker 4: over the weekend, people on social media that had bought something.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Uh from one of the booths.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Helmet with a certain inscription on it made its way
- 2:02Speaker 4: from front. I think, hold on, sign this out. It
- 2:08Speaker 4: is like the inventory in Trey's brain. Matt like he's
- 2:12Speaker 4: you know, he's got it, like it's in there or whatever.
- 2:14Speaker 4: And I was signing some stuff on Saturday and there
- 2:16Speaker 4: was three guys came in from Colorado and they're like, hey,
- 2:19Speaker 4: we want something, but we were on a plane. It's
- 2:23Speaker 4: Ray's like going through all the different things in his head.
- 2:25Speaker 4: He's like, oh, blah blah blah, blah, we got football,
- 2:26Speaker 4: all right, we got three go get three in the
- 2:28Speaker 4: back there, and it's like the inventory you have in
- 2:30Speaker 4: your head is impressive.
- 2:31Speaker 6: Well, I appreciate you saying that that was cool to
- 2:33Speaker 6: have those guys around of town that never been to
- 2:35Speaker 6: a game before and they heard us talking about this
- 2:37Speaker 6: on the radio and they came and bought something.
- 2:40Speaker 5: So advertising dollars are working. So how did he go with?
- 2:43Speaker 7: So we saw the Florida, the ugly Florida helmet, a
- 2:46Speaker 7: Tim Tebow slid? Did you get did you have a
- 2:48Speaker 7: lot of Gator fans coming in and buying some Florida stuff?
- 2:51Speaker 6: So we use a an artist, Becky Fall. She's probably
- 2:54Speaker 6: the number one artist in New Orleans and Baton Rouge
- 2:56Speaker 6: right now and she paints a big Gator.
- 2:59Speaker 5: Uh.
- 2:59Speaker 6: So that that was a very popular art item. So
- 3:01Speaker 6: we did sell to a lot of Florida flans this weekend.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Nice. That's great.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Hey, they're bringing dollars here to pro dreams like that's right.
- 3:10Speaker 6: Get money is green, you should get care where it comes.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Does she get Marco Wilson to sign him throwing a
- 3:16Speaker 4: shoe and then sell that?
- 3:18Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I don't know if Florida fans or LSU fans would
- 3:20Speaker 4: buy that. But LSU fans for sure, right, So how
- 3:23Speaker 4: does it work?
- 3:23Speaker 7: So they come in at at the tables around the
- 3:25Speaker 7: stadium or in the shop here, and and they're from
- 3:28Speaker 7: out of town. They they pick the items they want,
- 3:30Speaker 7: whether it's the inventory is in your brain or whether
- 3:32Speaker 7: it's sitting right here, and you ship and they they
- 3:35Speaker 7: pay any you shipping.
- 3:36Speaker 6: So we kind of have a little bit of both.
- 3:37Speaker 6: We have options for all customers no matter what they're buying.
- 3:39Speaker 6: They could either take it right then and there, they
- 3:41Speaker 6: can get a ship to them or pick it up
- 3:43Speaker 6: at our brand new retail location here at thirty nine
- 3:45Speaker 6: to thirty Burbank driving Baton Rooms.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Who are some of the current lshoe guys that y'all
- 3:50Speaker 4: are working with because of them, when Matt and I
- 3:53Speaker 4: were playing, like we had to wait, oh my gosh,
- 3:55Speaker 4: like don't you dare sign an autograph that you think
- 3:58Speaker 4: is going to be sold? And the landscape changing in
- 4:01Speaker 4: al it's great and players can come in and really
- 4:04Speaker 4: this is like the true spirit of what NIL was
- 4:06Speaker 4: supposed to be for sure was memorabilia and autograph signings
- 4:10Speaker 4: and come hang out so like, what are you currently
- 4:12Speaker 4: doing with Thilhee right now?
- 4:13Speaker 6: Yesterday we had Barryon here in the store, we had
- 4:16Speaker 6: Trey Dez here. They signed a couple of helmets and
- 4:17Speaker 6: footballs and stuff. So we're really excited about the new
- 4:20Speaker 6: class coming in and just some of the new talent.
- 4:22Speaker 5: But it is cool to see specifically.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Bary On yesterday was walking around looking at our Michael
- 4:27Speaker 6: Jordan jersey and he was just in awe, like he
- 4:30Speaker 6: just stared at it and it couldn't he couldn't get
- 4:33Speaker 6: his brain passed, like that's twelve thousand dollars, Like he
- 4:38Speaker 6: was in shell shock, and he just kept asking me,
- 4:40Speaker 6: like someone's gonna buy that.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Two hours later we sold it. Wow. Yeah that one
- 4:45Speaker 5: right there. It's got the lights on it.
- 4:48Speaker 6: Yeah, it's got a little led around it. So it's
- 4:51Speaker 6: cool to see young players excited about memorabilia and just
- 4:54Speaker 6: putting a little money in their pocket for something that
- 4:57Speaker 6: they've built on the field.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Oh for sure, he's probably staring at me like he's
- 5:00Speaker 7: too young to realize. I mean, he knows who Michael
- 5:02Speaker 7: Jordan is, probably wears the shoes and everything, but like
- 5:05Speaker 7: people that got to see him play live and person.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he knows he might know Michael Jordan through the
- 5:10Speaker 4: Lebron versus Michael debate. Yeah, exactly, and me and me
- 5:15Speaker 4: and myself.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Yeah yeah the first one.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 7: Let me ask you, so when you were I'm curious,
- 5:22Speaker 7: like in this whole like in il landscape, I'm so curious,
- 5:25Speaker 7: like the fine details of like the business side of
- 5:28Speaker 7: working with an athlete.
- 5:29Speaker 5: So how do you get to these players?
- 5:31Speaker 7: Do you have to call three people that connect to
- 5:34Speaker 7: these players?
- 5:35Speaker 5: Have agents? Do they have friends and family?
- 5:37Speaker 2: Like?
- 5:37Speaker 5: How does all that get even started? So? How do
- 5:40Speaker 5: I get to players? Is the secret? Sauce?
- 5:43Speaker 6: Right, I'll tell the very first time I ever got
- 5:45Speaker 6: to a player. I was so excited right after the
- 5:47Speaker 6: Saints won the Super Bowl. Never met a real player,
- 5:51Speaker 6: like a real professional anthlete at the time, and they
- 5:53Speaker 6: made this huge advertisement that they were going to have
- 5:55Speaker 6: this after party for the Saints at the hotel in Biloxi.
- 6:00Speaker 6: So I walk into this after party and I'm so
- 6:03Speaker 6: excited that I see Pierre Thomas walking and I the
- 6:07Speaker 6: crowd was kind of not paying attention, so I ran
- 6:09Speaker 6: after him. We flew through this door and I'd go
- 6:13Speaker 6: to ask him for his autograph. I said, mister Pierre,
- 6:14Speaker 6: can I have your autograph?
- 6:15Speaker 5: Please? He said, can I finish using a restroom?
- 6:19Speaker 6: No, my very friend of autographs that I was looking
- 6:24Speaker 6: for tackled Pierre Thomas in the restroom and it just
- 6:29Speaker 6: kind of went from there through Instagram, DMS, through social media,
- 6:33Speaker 6: just reaching out to players and then either they handled
- 6:35Speaker 6: me or they passed a lot of them, and especially
- 6:38Speaker 6: the new guys as the parents or maybe you know,
- 6:41Speaker 6: an agent. And then once you treat a customer or
- 6:43Speaker 6: a client, well they kind of passed your name to
- 6:45Speaker 6: the next guy and we go from there.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I thought, you're about to have any the secret sauces.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Wait outside the bathroom. Everybody's gotta go.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Yeah two bro, what is wrong with it?
- 6:59Speaker 5: Just fell? Just how much time I have?
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:03Speaker 4: But all right, next topic, Oh, some of the how
- 7:08Speaker 4: the how you know some of the Saint stuff. Obviously
- 7:12Speaker 4: it's like we were talking about it. You're looking for
- 7:15Speaker 4: a face maybe face to the franchise right now it
- 7:18Speaker 4: is look, I mean all the great stuff like Drew
- 7:20Speaker 4: still sells really well, you got you got Manning, Ricky
- 7:24Speaker 4: Jackson taking down close.
- 7:27Speaker 6: But if if you're talking about Saints as a brand.
- 7:30Speaker 6: You're selling ten to one l SU to Saint stuff, right,
- 7:32Speaker 6: Oh wow, Yeah, it's that drastic tend to one.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Tend to one is when the Saints are good?
- 7:38Speaker 2: What is that number?
- 7:40Speaker 6: It's still probably heavy? I mean three probably. I mean
- 7:44Speaker 6: I don't know why, just them as a brand. I
- 7:46Speaker 6: don't want to talk bad about the Saints because they're Saints,
- 7:49Speaker 6: but yeah, Saints show no, yeah, good, it's it's tough
- 7:53Speaker 6: if it's not, if it's not Drew.
- 7:54Speaker 7: Yeah, I got a question just from like cause you know,
- 7:58Speaker 7: we've talked about Tester and I kind like into the
- 8:00Speaker 7: sports card world and there's like, like you sell the
- 8:03Speaker 7: hype a lot in the sports car world before, like.
- 8:06Speaker 5: That the hype of potential.
- 8:08Speaker 7: Is that kind of the same in the member billy world,
- 8:10Speaker 7: because like, was you sell the wave for sure?
- 8:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 6: One of our biggest example was Mason Taylor when we
- 8:15Speaker 6: beat Alabama in overtime. Yeah, we had a signing already
- 8:18Speaker 6: lined up. It was just a stroke of luck that
- 8:20Speaker 6: we had wow on Wednesday. So by Friday we had
- 8:23Speaker 6: a next home game, we had product on the table
- 8:26Speaker 6: of the photo of him diving in the end zone signed.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Oh yeah, we sold six thousand of them pictures of them.
- 8:32Speaker 6: I mean it was a lot like it was crazy timing. O. Now,
- 8:36Speaker 6: like I can't give I love Mason. He was awesome
- 8:38Speaker 6: in great family lineage. But I can't sell a Mason
- 8:41Speaker 6: Taylor autograph to save my life right now.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you know. So it's it's just timing time, just timing.
- 8:47Speaker 5: Start getting saying that.
- 8:48Speaker 4: That that Florida picture down there in the corner.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Like timing of last week. I won't sell it one
- 8:52Speaker 6: until next year.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Right.
- 8:54Speaker 4: But if I, like in two thousand and seven, if I.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Would have been a thing, we could have had a
- 8:59Speaker 3: lot of them on yer Man.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, and we still have. We've done well. Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 5: you know for sure, Yeah, for sure.
- 9:04Speaker 4: But you know, when I was trying to check the
- 9:08Speaker 4: couch cushions to see if we go to the movies.
- 9:12Speaker 5: The one thing that I needed it.
- 9:14Speaker 6: You know, you keep asking about the NIL situation, and
- 9:17Speaker 6: the thing that I just keep going back to is
- 9:19Speaker 6: a guy like both of y'all that by the time
- 9:22Speaker 6: you got back to Baton Rouge, were you an accessible
- 9:25Speaker 6: athlete that had already passed NFL.
- 9:27Speaker 5: You had already passed.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Now you're in retirement age, people still want it, but
- 9:31Speaker 6: it's not as sure that guy on the field. So
- 9:35Speaker 6: in the era of like a Dylan Cruz when he
- 9:38Speaker 6: was hit a home run, I already had product on
- 9:40Speaker 6: the table. They'd walk by and go, I want that
- 9:43Speaker 6: jersey now because he just walked it.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Off, you know. So it was that instant gratification in
- 9:48Speaker 5: that instant that's.
- 9:50Speaker 4: A great point any think about that because yeah, even okay,
- 9:54Speaker 4: so like no matter what your career is at LSU,
- 9:57Speaker 4: if it's a really good one, you go play professionally.
- 9:59Speaker 4: And so when you go play professionally, like you know,
- 10:03Speaker 4: you don't have the time, Like you just don't have
- 10:04Speaker 4: that Like you can't come back to batteries for a
- 10:06Speaker 4: signing and you can't really sign one hundred jerseys or whatever.
- 10:09Speaker 4: So like back then, by the time you came back,
- 10:11Speaker 4: I mean you're still it's still popular, but you lost
- 10:14Speaker 4: that timing that we're talking about. But now that timing
- 10:18Speaker 4: can go away because like if you know Nushmeyert, those
- 10:21Speaker 4: for four hundred yards and four touchdowns, well you got product.
- 10:25Speaker 3: In here right now or whoever you know, you know
- 10:28Speaker 3: what I.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Mean, he hadn't signed yet. No, but a guy, especially
- 10:32Speaker 6: in baseball. He'll go play in Middle of Americans in
- 10:35Speaker 6: the Cape Cod League for four years, chasing the dream,
- 10:37Speaker 6: and he didn't want to come back to Baton Rouge
- 10:39Speaker 6: for a couple thousand bucks and sign autographs Like that
- 10:41Speaker 6: doesn't make sense. So and then on the second part
- 10:44Speaker 6: of that, the nil has kind of hurt us a
- 10:46Speaker 6: little bit because they're seeing the big revenue dollars for
- 10:51Speaker 6: someone serving chicken out of a window for two hours
- 10:53Speaker 6: that is worth thirty thousand.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Dollars to them.
- 10:56Speaker 6: Well, they have an infinite amount of inventory that they
- 10:59Speaker 6: could use. They could put it on publics ad, they
- 11:01Speaker 6: can put it on a shirt, they can put on
- 11:03Speaker 6: a billboard. We have a finite number of inventory that
- 11:07Speaker 6: we have to break that down for what that cost
- 11:09Speaker 6: per athlete. So it's tough to ask an athlete to
- 11:12Speaker 6: come here for X amount of dollars because we have
- 11:14Speaker 6: to divide that by how many pieces we have for
- 11:18Speaker 6: the fair market value for that item for a customer
- 11:20Speaker 6: to walk through the door and pay for that autograph.
- 11:23Speaker 6: So it is a tough memoraile. You ask for an
- 11:25Speaker 6: ail right now, Okay, I guess it makes sense too.
- 11:28Speaker 4: And then for you, I mean, look, you got to
- 11:30Speaker 4: cost the helmet, you got to cost to the athlete
- 11:32Speaker 4: that had to come in here.
- 11:34Speaker 6: They say a lot with the new conversations of what
- 11:37Speaker 6: is fair market value for that athlete's autograph that has
- 11:40Speaker 6: to be divided by what's on the national market, what
- 11:43Speaker 6: I can sell it on eBay for, what I can
- 11:45Speaker 6: sell it in the store for, Like I can't ask
- 11:47Speaker 6: a customer to pay one thousand dollars for a guy
- 11:50Speaker 6: that's barely eve improved on the field yet.
- 11:52Speaker 5: So we'll see. It's definitely a moving target.
- 11:56Speaker 7: So I know one of your big things that y'all
- 11:58Speaker 7: do here are the silent action. It's a different events,
- 12:01Speaker 7: whether it's a charity event or a big group raising
- 12:03Speaker 7: money or a corporate event, things like that.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Y'all were doing one at the event we spoke at
- 12:07Speaker 4: last Friday, I believe at like cook Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 7: So what you got anythink cool plan, any any events
- 12:14Speaker 7: co or that you just did that that stuck out
- 12:16Speaker 7: to you.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Yeah, we have a big event tonight actually Thursday night
- 12:20Speaker 6: that we're raising money for. We're a no risk opportunity
- 12:23Speaker 6: to where we bring all the items that you see
- 12:25Speaker 6: here in the store, set it all up we're a
- 12:26Speaker 6: full service provider for an auction company. So it takes
- 12:30Speaker 6: the risk out of a company throwing an auction or
- 12:33Speaker 6: having to go buy items somewhere and having to resell
- 12:36Speaker 6: them and hope they get more money for them.
- 12:40Speaker 5: If your silent auction.
- 12:41Speaker 6: This is probably an unpopular statement, but if you're a
- 12:43Speaker 6: silent auction chair for a fundraiser and that's your main
- 12:47Speaker 6: source of revenue, you've already lost like your real ad,
- 12:50Speaker 6: your real dollars should come from ads or sponsorship or
- 12:52Speaker 6: table sales or alcohol sales.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Like. So we kind of took the guesswork out of
- 12:56Speaker 5: out of auctions.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot of times it'll ruin a relationship when
- 13:00Speaker 6: you're a business owner and all you do is, man,
- 13:02Speaker 6: they're calling again for that soap basket. Like, we're not
- 13:04Speaker 6: gonna take that call, you know, so you have to
- 13:08Speaker 6: basket no risks.
- 13:09Speaker 7: So you'll come in there they call you and and
- 13:11Speaker 7: it's really basically you're going in there and like you're
- 13:14Speaker 7: you're setting everything up on your on your dime and
- 13:17Speaker 7: then actually giving part of the proceeds back.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Yes, whatever it sells. We use a unique bidding style.
- 13:23Speaker 6: It's called every bid Wins That means every person that
- 13:25Speaker 6: write their name down wins one of those items. So
- 13:27Speaker 6: we can sell three, four five of those items instead
- 13:29Speaker 6: of just one interest and the charity will raise three
- 13:32Speaker 6: times as much and more. However many times you'll sell it,
- 13:35Speaker 6: That's why I need to go. You have six hundred
- 13:37Speaker 6: jerseys that one time.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Okay, so you have so you have like a starting
- 13:40Speaker 4: bid and if you write your name down, you.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Get the first one.
- 13:43Speaker 6: If you're the first one to bid on it, you're
- 13:45Speaker 6: taking that item home tonight.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Oh cool.
- 13:47Speaker 6: After that up, it goes up in twenty five dollars increments, right,
- 13:50Speaker 6: and then so the next person will just have to
- 13:51Speaker 6: ship them one.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 3: I mean it encourages people to go be the first one.
- 13:55Speaker 6: To be the first one because you pay the lowest
- 13:56Speaker 6: price and you take it home tonight.
- 13:58Speaker 7: Interesting. Yeah, wow, I've ever seen that before. I'd be right,
- 14:02Speaker 7: I'd be like, it gets them every time.
- 14:05Speaker 6: It gets them every time because they're like, oh, I
- 14:06Speaker 6: want this, this and this.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 6: It prevents a couple of things too. Throughout the night,
- 14:11Speaker 6: you know how much money you're raising. Yeah too, it
- 14:13Speaker 6: prevents the old line after an event that you see
- 14:17Speaker 6: fifty people trying to check out and yeah, nobody wants
- 14:20Speaker 6: to do that anymore. Yeah, yeah, I know it.
- 14:22Speaker 7: Does it look like when they when the event starts,
- 14:24Speaker 7: does it look like the shoppers at Target like on
- 14:27Speaker 7: Black Friday? Like they're off the door like I'm trying
- 14:30Speaker 7: to pull the door open.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Maybe sometimes?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:32Speaker 3: Sometimes? Uh sure.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Jacob Hester autographs for sure. People raising.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Yeah, look, I mean whatever, I don't see you in
- 14:39Speaker 4: the wall here.
- 14:39Speaker 6: You're saying I don't have a single Matt Flinn autograph.

- 18:17Speaker 4: you back on as always.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I'm great, brother bilin Blest this morning.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Man, how was the Gator?
- 18:25Speaker 4: I saw beautiful, beautiful pictures of Gator everywhere on social media,
- 18:30Speaker 4: and I know that you enjoyed some good old Gator
- 18:32Speaker 4: this last weekend.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I mean we smoked that thing, two of them. We
- 18:37Speaker 2: smoked the two smaller ones for five hours and we
- 18:41Speaker 2: consumed one and a half. And you know what was
- 18:46Speaker 2: the kids loved it first of all. You know, we
- 18:48Speaker 2: carted it out on the table and everybody was doing
- 18:50Speaker 2: and on over and I mean it tasted delicious, right,
- 18:53Speaker 2: But I think I think the better part of it
- 18:56Speaker 2: was yesterday. I had some bits and pieces left over
- 18:59Speaker 2: that I pulled off the car and we made. I
- 19:02Speaker 2: made Gator sauce.
- 19:03Speaker 5: To coant with the bakery.
- 19:05Speaker 2: You know, I mean it was just another It's one
- 19:08Speaker 2: of those things that just he was given right, So
- 19:10Speaker 2: it was it was it was a good few daysier.
- 19:13Speaker 7: So so, Cheff, you kind of told us that like
- 19:17Speaker 7: during the games, at your game day, at your day
- 19:19Speaker 7: to kind of go home and chill, relax a little bit.
- 19:21Speaker 7: What what are you cooking for yourself or your family? Like,
- 19:25Speaker 7: what what are you doing at the house getting ready?
- 19:27Speaker 7: Are we kind of like snacking on dips all day
- 19:29Speaker 7: like a lot of people enjoy game day or are
- 19:31Speaker 7: you making like a big like long meal?
- 19:35Speaker 2: Not too many long meals. You know, my fiance likes
- 19:38Speaker 2: to cook, and so we cook in the kitchen together
- 19:41Speaker 2: a lot, and and you know, like dinner, there's lots
- 19:44Speaker 2: of pasa because my kids like pastas during the day.
- 19:47Speaker 2: It's I think it's like, you know, fruits and vegetables.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I really love fruits and vegetables and eating them fresh, right,
- 19:54Speaker 2: So I kind of snacker. You know, like in the
- 19:58Speaker 2: kitchen you're not allowed to sit down and eat too
- 20:01Speaker 2: terribly often because it takes you away from your time
- 20:04Speaker 2: a lot. So uh, you know, we it's it's a
- 20:07Speaker 2: lot of what we call eating over the trash cans,
- 20:09Speaker 2: tasting foods and throwing spoons away and so it's it's
- 20:13Speaker 2: almost a healthier way of eating too. You know, your
- 20:16Speaker 2: blood sugar doesn't spike it heavily, so I'm constantly kind
- 20:20Speaker 2: of snacking and grazing, and so you know, it's yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 2: I do have a softness for cheese, but yeah, there's
- 20:30Speaker 2: lots of lots of kind of snacky foods, fruitualgebles.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Chef to go back to the Gator real quick, how
- 20:37Speaker 4: many players did you have to maybe like try to
- 20:40Speaker 4: talk in to try and said gator, Like, was there anybody,
- 20:43Speaker 4: because you know, there's players from all over the country,
- 20:46Speaker 4: Like certainly the guys from Louisiana, they've they've probably had gator,
- 20:49Speaker 4: they've certainly tried that before, maybe this around Mississippi and Texas.
- 20:53Speaker 4: But from the guys that are from you know, the
- 20:56Speaker 4: West coast or up north or whatever, like, did you
- 20:58Speaker 4: have to do with some real selling to them?
- 21:01Speaker 2: I think the ones that you have to do selling
- 21:03Speaker 2: to are kind of from the inner cities sometimes, And
- 21:07Speaker 2: to be to be honest with you, it's I don't
- 21:09Speaker 2: go and seek with trying to convince them. I first
- 21:12Speaker 2: go and seek with convincing my employees who are like,
- 21:15Speaker 2: oh no, I'd never eat that because if I can
- 21:17Speaker 2: convince them to eat it and they like it, then
- 21:20Speaker 2: that I that I have a team of people who
- 21:22Speaker 2: are also saying, oh, no, you should try it. It's
- 21:24Speaker 2: actually really good. Like I don't eat that kind of stuff,
- 21:26Speaker 2: But you know, chef knows what Chef knows what he's doing.
- 21:30Speaker 2: And I've built trust with a couple of people I got.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I got a couple of kind of stubborn ones in
- 21:35Speaker 2: my kitchen that they don't like trying new stuff, but
- 21:38Speaker 2: they trust me enough to try stuff if I asked
- 21:41Speaker 2: them to. And it's usually a win, you know, very seldom,
- 21:45Speaker 2: isn't it. Now I didn't like that, you know, it's
- 21:47Speaker 2: sometimes it's oh that's interesting. You know, I'm not in
- 21:51Speaker 2: love with it, but I would probably eat that again,
- 21:53Speaker 2: or they've had a bad experience with it before. So
- 21:57Speaker 2: my first approach is to approach, you know, the ones
- 21:59Speaker 2: that and kind of test the waters with the more
- 22:02Speaker 2: with the more uh not with lack of better word, stubborn,
- 22:07Speaker 2: uh you know, tasters in my kitchen and and kind
- 22:10Speaker 2: of work for them to do the same thing. And
- 22:13Speaker 2: that usually that usually works really well for me.
- 22:16Speaker 7: Chef, I hope you can help us, like settle a
- 22:19Speaker 7: great debate we have here between Hester and I. If
- 22:23Speaker 7: you close your eyes and just picture the perfect taco.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Oh is it?
- 22:29Speaker 7: Is it a tortilla or is it a hard shell taco?
- 22:34Speaker 2: No, it's like a street taco, you know, like a
- 22:36Speaker 2: corn soft corn corn tortilla made from maize. You know,
- 22:40Speaker 2: like I like street tacos. I like linguis. I like
- 22:43Speaker 2: tongue in my top, you know, tongue tacos. I like
- 22:46Speaker 2: pork belly tacos, and lots of lots of accoutre monts, right,
- 22:50Speaker 2: like pickled pickled onions and cheese, and and probably five
- 22:55Speaker 2: different types of salsa. Right. But and and I like
- 22:59Speaker 2: I like the double up the tortillas too, you know.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And some people don't do this, but I'll take those
- 23:03Speaker 2: corn tortillas and put them on a flat grill and
- 23:06Speaker 2: toast them a little bit, just to warm them up
- 23:08Speaker 2: and give them a little bit of structure. Because people,
- 23:11Speaker 2: when you steam them, they get a little too soft
- 23:13Speaker 2: and tear too easy for me. So I like to
- 23:15Speaker 2: put them on a grill and and toast them just
- 23:17Speaker 2: just real slightly. I think they hold together better that way.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And I like the the you know, like the browning
- 23:23Speaker 2: that that that browning flavor. You know, it just adds
- 23:27Speaker 2: to the texture and the quality of the suit.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Thank you, chef.
- 23:30Speaker 7: This uncultured swine that I have to sit next to
- 23:32Speaker 7: every single day thinks that a hard shell taco is
- 23:36Speaker 7: the only type of taco.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I didn't now.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I said, like, y'all are you were like baffled that
- 23:41Speaker 4: we have hard shell tacos. They're incredible, Okay, another heartshell
- 23:47Speaker 4: since I was like, Katie will take like a flower
- 23:49Speaker 4: tortilla and fry it up and like that's the taco
- 23:52Speaker 4: shell and it's incredible.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, sound good, chef.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I was just saying there's other options where this guy
- 23:57Speaker 4: speaking in absolutes, like having a soft tortilla was the
- 24:00Speaker 4: only way you could have it.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Truth being known, I've never met a tackle I
- 24:04Speaker 2: didn't like.
- 24:05Speaker 4: Thank you, chef. It's like it's like a piece of pizza.
- 24:08Speaker 4: It's like I like pizza from here.
- 24:10Speaker 5: I don't really like it.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, maybe, but I'm gonna eat it.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah. That's kind of the different pizza of calzo. Right,
- 24:16Speaker 2: Like somebody just tripped and fell.
- 24:18Speaker 3: And no question about it.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Uh, chef, you know you told us about this kind
- 24:30Speaker 4: of get away just real quick from the food portion
- 24:32Speaker 4: of it, because I'm starving now.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Uh.
- 24:34Speaker 4: You told us like this team was was special as
- 24:38Speaker 4: far as like the meals they had together and the
- 24:40Speaker 4: time they spent together and just kind of some of
- 24:42Speaker 4: the conversations that.
- 24:44Speaker 3: That you were hearing.
- 24:45Speaker 4: And I think last week was like a great example
- 24:48Speaker 4: of that because you know, we you know, for playing
- 24:51Speaker 4: football too hard, gets kicked out of the football game
- 24:53Speaker 4: and then like Wes, his brother steps up and then
- 24:56Speaker 4: he goes down and then here comes another week's brothers
- 24:58Speaker 4: and Devon Key's played in credible so like those things
- 25:01Speaker 4: that you told us, like you're seeing it play out
- 25:03Speaker 4: in real time, like on the actual football field as well.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't say this before, but you just said
- 25:10Speaker 2: something that touches on it, and I think it's it's
- 25:12Speaker 2: to be said. There's I think three sets of brothers
- 25:15Speaker 2: on this team, man, And you know, like as a brother,
- 25:19Speaker 2: you know, I know how much I care for my brother,
- 25:20Speaker 2: even though we don't always agree on everything. You know,
- 25:24Speaker 2: like with if my brother's on that football team, I'm
- 25:27Speaker 2: fighting tooth and nail. Like my brother and I may fight,
- 25:30Speaker 2: but damn the man that gets right and that that
- 25:34Speaker 2: builds an even larger I think kind of a passion
- 25:37Speaker 2: towards what you're trying to do. And we've got three
- 25:39Speaker 2: sets of brothers on this team. That's that's pretty special, man.
- 25:42Speaker 2: And you know, watching them interact and kind of pick
- 25:45Speaker 2: on each other a little bit but also protect each
- 25:47Speaker 2: other a little bit. As a human being, I think
- 25:51Speaker 2: that you have to appreciate.
- 25:52Speaker 7: That, Chef. We just came off a big week. It
- 25:57Speaker 7: was four a week. Now we're playing Southeastern, so we
- 25:59Speaker 7: kind of all know that's kind of a little bit
- 26:00Speaker 7: of a purple jersey game.
- 26:01Speaker 5: But you're you're with these kids.
- 26:03Speaker 7: You see these kids every single day, and Jake and
- 26:05Speaker 7: I talk about how when we had the kind of
- 26:07Speaker 7: the purple jury, like the the the dip and I
- 26:10Speaker 7: guess competition if you will, the week was like you
- 26:12Speaker 7: had to rely on leadership. You had to like really
- 26:16Speaker 7: be cognizant of the fact that I got a prep
- 26:18Speaker 7: just like I did last week for the big game.
- 26:20Speaker 7: So like, you get to spend every single week with
- 26:22Speaker 7: these guys and you've seen them all week, Like, so,
- 26:24Speaker 7: how are how do these guys, how does this team,
- 26:26Speaker 7: how does the culture react to these types of week.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Have you seen anything different?
- 26:32Speaker 2: No, this ship doesn't steer differently. Brother. These kids stay focused, man.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And that's the beautiful thing about it. Brother. You know,
- 26:37Speaker 2: like there's no reaction or or unreaction. You know, they
- 26:41Speaker 2: come in, they eat the same that, you know what
- 26:43Speaker 2: I mean like it And that's what I love about
- 26:45Speaker 2: them is they're not reacting in that way. They're not
- 26:48Speaker 2: overreacting in any way, you know, like I media is
- 26:52Speaker 2: everywhere now and and I'm kind of baffled at the
- 26:55Speaker 2: fact that they can maintain that, to be honest with you,
- 26:57Speaker 2: because it's to to be emotional as to be human.
- 27:00Speaker 2: But I think they managed it exceptionally well. They're super
- 27:04Speaker 2: resilient and and you know they have a brotherhood of
- 27:07Speaker 2: teammates around them, you know, to support you know when
- 27:11Speaker 2: they're struggling, and you know, it's it's it's something pretty
- 27:14Speaker 2: special to watch, you know that.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Jeff, What we got on the menu today? Have we
- 27:19Speaker 4: already laid it? I don't think it's nine thirty. I'm
- 27:21Speaker 4: sure you've already had to feed a ton of people
- 27:24Speaker 4: already today.
- 27:25Speaker 2: And yeah, chicken and offls for breakfast. We have salmon
- 27:31Speaker 2: for lunch. I'm trying to think what I've seen because
- 27:33Speaker 2: I've been kind of in the office this morning a
- 27:36Speaker 2: little bit. But gosh, you just me, what's going on?
- 27:45Speaker 3: What's on the menu today? Actually that I don't know.
- 27:47Speaker 5: I don't know, man.
- 27:49Speaker 2: You know, they're doing really well with.
- 27:50Speaker 3: It, so it's going great. Everything's going great there.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Look, Jeff, you look, you had a big assignment last
- 27:57Speaker 4: week with the Gator, so we'll give you a pass here.
- 27:59Speaker 4: That was that was you know, that was the main thing.
- 28:02Speaker 4: We had to make sure that we had Gator. This
- 28:04Speaker 4: is a show full of Gator haters, and the team
- 28:07Speaker 4: got to enjoy Gator.
- 28:08Speaker 5: So you're good.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Well, you know what it is is. I went on
- 28:12Speaker 2: I went on a high fence ranch hunt with some
- 28:14Speaker 2: of the guys back six months ago, and and one
- 28:18Speaker 2: of the one of the videos was released today and
- 28:21Speaker 2: and uh it, I've been kind of really in that
- 28:23Speaker 2: because for the first for the first time, I cooked
- 28:26Speaker 2: heart and it was a gins Bach heart and it
- 28:29Speaker 2: was an extraordinary experience and I got to share that
- 28:31Speaker 2: with some really incredible people. And so you know, my
- 28:36Speaker 2: mind has kind of been with that heart this morning,
- 28:38Speaker 2: because you know, when you kill a creature. I think
- 28:40Speaker 2: there's the spiritual side of it as well. That you know,
- 28:44Speaker 2: I consume as much as that of the animal as
- 28:47Speaker 2: I can, and the heart more specifically, you know. And
- 28:49Speaker 2: so that was one of the that was one of
- 28:51Speaker 2: the times I one of the first times I cooked
- 28:54Speaker 2: heart for you know, like it was a wild game
- 28:57Speaker 2: heart and it was I was feeding some of the
- 28:58Speaker 2: guys that I worked with on a day to day
- 29:00Speaker 2: basis in the in the football team. So it was
- 29:02Speaker 2: a really special moment.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Man, all right there he is our guy.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Chef Michael Johnson joins us every single week, always gives
- 29:10Speaker 4: us just great insight, not only what's on the menu,
- 29:12Speaker 4: sometimes you know what's not on the menu because we're
- 29:15Speaker 4: trying to figure that out because we're worried about Florida.
- 29:17Speaker 4: We had we had a lot of caters we have
- 29:19Speaker 4: to take care of last week, Chef, I mean, always
- 29:22Speaker 4: our pleasure to catch up with you.
- 29:24Speaker 3: We appreciated every single week.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 29:26Speaker 5: I love that guy the best. He is the best.
- 29:30Speaker 7: Although I saw that when you when you when you
- 29:32Speaker 7: kill an animal, you're supposed to eat the heart raw
- 29:35Speaker 7: still beating.
- 29:36Speaker 5: I don't know you doing that.
- 29:38Speaker 7: No, I know that when I first my first year,
- 29:41Speaker 7: my dad did put like blood on my chee.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Yeah, don't hate. Don't hate on fish sticks either.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'm not hating on fish delicious. Okay, I didn't hate on.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Fish I don't know, Okay, So this is what I said.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I just made this point in the chat.
- 29:56Speaker 7: Like hardshell tacos, they're kind of equivalent to fishticks to me, like,
- 30:01Speaker 7: sure they taste good and they taste fine, but at
- 30:03Speaker 7: some point in life.
- 30:03Speaker 5: You gotta grow up to just grow up.
- 30:05Speaker 3: I don't want to grow up.
- 30:07Speaker 5: I'm a toys the kid, and.
- 30:09Speaker 7: I grow up to be like like your age or anything,
- 30:12Speaker 7: but get past nine.
- 30:14Speaker 3: I still eat cereal every night.
- 30:15Speaker 5: That's true with the cartoon character on the mark.
- 30:18Speaker 7: So the hard show Taco thing tracks like cereal is
- 30:21Speaker 7: great and I'll eat every now and then. I love
- 30:23Speaker 7: a fishtick. I love a chicken like I love an
- 30:25Speaker 7: animal shaped chicken nuggy may it's fine.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't know your pallet was so mature.
- 30:30Speaker 7: But I'm not eating you know. It's not like my
- 30:32Speaker 7: go to, but I dabble. But at some point you
- 30:34Speaker 7: gotta grow up and just eat normal shaped chicken nuggets.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Some of you didn't grow up rednecks in the shows.
- 30:38Speaker 5: That's okay. We're ball on a budget.
- 30:40Speaker 3: We made the most of those fish sticks and they
- 30:41Speaker 3: were delicious.
- 30:42Speaker 5: I ate so many fish that I like to dip
- 30:43Speaker 5: in mustard. Kind of weird.
- 30:46Speaker 7: What Yeah, but I look back at like when he
- 30:50Speaker 7: as an adult, you do you fish with a lot
- 30:51Speaker 7: of sauces and the same thing as mustard.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Frozen teqtos.
- 30:56Speaker 7: That's well done, Matsi Thirtino's pizza, well done. Oh yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 7: that was the best. Yeah, Totina, don't try to give
- 31:05Speaker 7: me another cheap pizza.
- 31:06Speaker 4: That's the one, the one I want. Flavor, that's the
- 31:08Speaker 4: one I want. And hey we agree there you go.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Look at that, look at us. Would have thought, all right,
- 31:13Speaker 4: we will.
- 31:15Speaker 3: We'll get you some.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Big dealer, no big deal when we come back here
- 31:20Speaker 4: on O TV.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Off the bench. You know what goes great with frozen pizzas?
- 31:29Speaker 5: Yeah, sure too, lots of them.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I mean think about it. Elite combination, little.
- 31:35Speaker 7: Cold pizza, little do sequis, chilling at a tailgate.
- 31:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can get your do sequis and be
- 31:42Speaker 4: ready to go for the tailgate this weekend. Go for dose,
- 31:46Speaker 4: enjoy that ice chests full of dose, Sekis.
- 31:48Speaker 5: It's gonna get you right for game day.
- 31:50Speaker 4: You're gonna enjoy sitting there and watching all those games
- 31:53Speaker 4: that we talked about a little bit earlier. Right before
- 31:55Speaker 4: you head into Tiger Stadium. At the tailgate, it is
- 31:58Speaker 4: always a great time to go for douce.
- 32:01Speaker 7: Yeah, you ever likes as a man like you know,
- 32:03Speaker 7: packing the car up perfectly is awesome. But like another
- 32:06Speaker 7: great feeling is a beautifully packed ice chest, like when
- 32:09Speaker 7: you line it all up with the ice, put up
- 32:11Speaker 7: a good layer of ice and put another that's even
- 32:13Speaker 7: better when it's dose seconds when I say a beautiful
- 32:15Speaker 7: green bottle, beautiful green can with the two xes on it. Man,
- 32:17Speaker 7: go for dose. We know we got another home game.
- 32:20Speaker 7: We got to show up, We got to show out.
- 32:22Speaker 7: Delete some beers do it responsibly.
- 32:24Speaker 5: Go for dose. Stay thirsty with my.
- 32:26Speaker 9: Friends waiting for you. Ass away from you.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Broke from the locker room to the airwaves.
- 32:58Speaker 3: It's off the bench. Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, Welcome
- 33:07Speaker 3: back in.
- 33:08Speaker 4: It is OTB here live from pro Dreams on burbankprodash
- 33:12Speaker 4: dreams dot com. Check out their shop and the memorabilia
- 33:15Speaker 4: they've got here. Come see them this weekend when you
- 33:18Speaker 4: try and watch the Tigers play. All right, let's do
- 33:23Speaker 4: a little big deal, no big deal, and I know
- 33:25Speaker 4: that you know we're here, Our great producers are back
- 33:28Speaker 4: in the studio, so it's okay, we can still get
- 33:31Speaker 4: this done.
- 33:32Speaker 3: I'll go first, and Flynn can go.
- 33:34Speaker 4: We'll turn ourselves down and then you all can answer
- 33:36Speaker 4: there back in studio. You don't have to worry about
- 33:39Speaker 4: the sounder here because you know what, we can't hear
- 33:41Speaker 4: it anyways. And so we'll go ahead and we'll get
- 33:43Speaker 4: this started and I'll start it off. Big deal or
- 33:46Speaker 4: no big deal. The NCAA eliminates this spring transfer portal window,
- 33:52Speaker 4: so college football is officially moving to a single off
- 33:56Speaker 4: season transfer portal window.
- 34:00Speaker 7: That's a big deal, certainly is. I guess this is
- 34:04Speaker 7: probably the Tennessee UCLA situation, kind of the knee jerk
- 34:11Speaker 7: reaction from that. But I'm sure that any anytime you
- 34:14Speaker 7: put restrictions on something, anytime you start to tighten up
- 34:17Speaker 7: the rules, I think coaches around the country breathe a
- 34:21Speaker 7: sigh relief because what they don't want is the wild,
- 34:24Speaker 7: wild West. And every year it gets a little bit
- 34:26Speaker 7: tighter and tighter, and I think that's what they want.
- 34:28Speaker 7: As long as a coach and an organization knows what
- 34:31Speaker 7: the rules are and they're clear and they're fair, then
- 34:34Speaker 7: they know how to work. And I think this kind
- 34:36Speaker 7: of helps that, Like they get their roster secured and
- 34:39Speaker 7: they know their roster is going to be their roster
- 34:41Speaker 7: at an earlier date, which helps coaches, what helps planning. Now,
- 34:45Speaker 7: it puts a little limitations on the player and his
- 34:49Speaker 7: options at some point of the year if things don't
- 34:52Speaker 7: go their way. But you know, I think the coaches
- 34:56Speaker 7: and organizations, but we're probably a big catalyst and getting
- 34:59Speaker 7: this push through.
- 35:01Speaker 3: All right, Landra Tata.
- 35:04Speaker 10: Yeah, I think this is a big deal. Yeah, for
- 35:06Speaker 10: all the reasons that Matt just said. I mean, it
- 35:08Speaker 10: has kind of just been the wild West in terms
- 35:11Speaker 10: of not only an IL but the transfer portal as well,
- 35:14Speaker 10: and just everybody was kind of allowed to do whatever
- 35:16Speaker 10: they wanted. So in terms of there being a role
- 35:21Speaker 10: in place, finally, even though there were some like, yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 10: this is a pretty big deal.
- 35:28Speaker 5: All right, Well, I hate to go chalk, but yeah,
- 35:30Speaker 5: big deal.
- 35:31Speaker 11: I think it's a big deal because I think it
- 35:34Speaker 11: kind of puts a control on things that. Frankly, I
- 35:37Speaker 11: think needed to be a little bit controlled. I understand
- 35:40Speaker 11: a lot of people said, oh, well, you know, this
- 35:42Speaker 11: gives more power to the players. Players kind of had
- 35:44Speaker 11: all the power. Now, whether you're four or against that
- 35:47Speaker 11: is entirely up to you. But like Matt said, it
- 35:50Speaker 11: helps you kind of plan out your roster a little
- 35:53Speaker 11: bit better. You know what you have at an earlier date.
- 35:56Speaker 11: I mean, look, you had the spring portal window, you
- 35:58Speaker 11: had the fall portal window. The players at Virginia Tech
- 36:02Speaker 11: and UCLA are able to enter the portal now that
- 36:04Speaker 11: their coaches are fired. I mean, it was a free
- 36:06Speaker 11: for all everywhere. This kind of controls stuff just a
- 36:10Speaker 11: little bit. So I think it's good for the game.
- 36:11Speaker 11: I think it's a big deal.
- 36:16Speaker 3: All right, Matthew, what you got there, sir?
- 36:18Speaker 5: All right?
- 36:18Speaker 7: Big deal, No big deal. Chicago Bears head coach Ben
- 36:22Speaker 7: Johnson stated recently, after this past week they started Bears
- 36:26Speaker 7: that started owing two, that the practice habits of his
- 36:30Speaker 7: team has not yet been reflective of a championship caliber team.
- 36:34Speaker 7: Players not finishing going through the football, doing things that
- 36:38Speaker 7: are tight, that are that are taught at a high
- 36:40Speaker 7: school level.
- 36:42Speaker 5: Is this a big deal? No big deal.
- 36:44Speaker 3: That's not good. I think it's a big deal. That's
- 36:47Speaker 3: not good.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Man.
- 36:48Speaker 4: That tells me you're far away, you aren't even close.
- 36:51Speaker 4: You aren't in the realm of where you need to be.
- 36:54Speaker 4: And that tells me that you know the person that
- 36:57Speaker 4: left you that obviously didn't have a great culture either.
- 37:01Speaker 4: But the more troublesome thing is you've been there long
- 37:04Speaker 4: enough to create your own culture and try to implement
- 37:06Speaker 4: your own culture, and it hasn't stuck. Like the players
- 37:10Speaker 4: aren't taking buying what you're selling right now, it's a massive.
- 37:14Speaker 5: Well, it's weak. It's weak too.
- 37:16Speaker 7: When I was looking at this, I thought to myself,
- 37:19Speaker 7: do I like him saying this publicly in a press conference?
- 37:24Speaker 7: And I think the answer for me is yes, because
- 37:27Speaker 7: as long as he said it to his team first,
- 37:29Speaker 7: like if as long as his team's not getting that
- 37:31Speaker 7: message through the media or watching it on TV in
- 37:34Speaker 7: like the team dining hall and hearing that from their
- 37:37Speaker 7: head coach, sending a message early of your expectation for
- 37:41Speaker 7: a team, sending it loud and clear, making no qualms
- 37:43Speaker 7: about the kind of kind of organization that you want
- 37:46Speaker 7: to run, and that they're not hitting those marks.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Yeah, you could see.
- 37:50Speaker 7: Frustration on him at the at the end of the
- 37:52Speaker 7: game this past weekend against the Lions too. So yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 7: to your point, I think it's okay because he's setting
- 37:58Speaker 7: a culture. He's telling what's it expected of them and
- 38:00Speaker 7: they're not hitting the mark and he's letting the world know.
- 38:02Speaker 7: So if you're a Caleb Williams and that's your team, man,
- 38:07Speaker 7: you better the message better be received loud and clear.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Yeah, there's there's nothing to guarantee that Caleb Williams is
- 38:15Speaker 4: going to be a b R C.
- 38:17Speaker 5: And those flashes and he did improve from week one
- 38:20Speaker 5: to week.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Two his college had he had flashes in college.
- 38:23Speaker 4: The flashes are great, but to be an NFL dude,
- 38:28Speaker 4: you've got to be consistent those flashes.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Like I'm trying to let me think.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Of a of a quarterback like okay.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Brock party like Brock Party.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Like the flashes aren't flashy, but the consistency is there.
- 38:42Speaker 4: So like you got to be careful falling in love
- 38:44Speaker 4: with the flashes, as you know.
- 38:46Speaker 7: And I'm a big believer in Ben Johnson's offense. I
- 38:48Speaker 7: think he's really too. Detroitans were incredible last year. Their offense.
- 38:52Speaker 4: I love, Love Love, but also to the point the
- 38:55Speaker 4: players that were running that offense have bought into Dan
- 38:58Speaker 4: Campbell's mentality is for sure.
- 39:00Speaker 7: So that he's got to set that mentality too. And
- 39:03Speaker 7: Caleb oys is being asked to do things he's never
- 39:05Speaker 7: had to do before. So there is gonna be a
- 39:06Speaker 7: little bit of a wearing curve there. Wondre tey what
- 39:09Speaker 7: y'all think.
- 39:11Speaker 11: I think it's a big deal. You know, talking about
- 39:14Speaker 11: bad habits. Ben Johnson like all that. That was the
- 39:19Speaker 11: reason I didn't like Cayleb Williams coming into the NFL,
- 39:21Speaker 11: because I thought he had some bad habits. But you know,
- 39:24Speaker 11: we're talking about Caleb in all this. Go back and
- 39:28Speaker 11: look at Lincoln Riley. Everyone talks about Lincoln Riley as
- 39:32Speaker 11: kind of this QB guru, but look at the ones
- 39:35Speaker 11: that have succeeded in the NFL. Baker had a coach
- 39:38Speaker 11: before Lincoln Riley. Jalen Hurts had a coach before Lincoln Riley.
- 39:42Speaker 11: I mean he taught Caleb Williams, and I mean they
- 39:45Speaker 11: did good things together in college. Caleb kind of regressed
- 39:48Speaker 11: under Lincoln Riley from year one to year two, So
- 39:51Speaker 11: I mean it's kind of an indictment all the way
- 39:52Speaker 11: around on a lot of different people.
- 39:55Speaker 10: Yeah, it feels like a big deal because it's just
- 39:58Speaker 10: a bad culture a vibe over there because of that.
- 40:02Speaker 10: So that yeah, big deal.
- 40:07Speaker 3: All right, Yeah, I think it's I think it's a
- 40:09Speaker 3: massive deal. They the Bears.
- 40:12Speaker 4: I know it's early in his tenure, but they feel
- 40:14Speaker 4: like they got to change some things.
- 40:16Speaker 7: And when you're an NFL team, when you're an NFL
- 40:19Speaker 7: team and your team gets called out for effort by
- 40:21Speaker 7: your head coach.
- 40:21Speaker 4: After when when high school gets thrown out there this
- 40:24Speaker 4: effort that is not good. That is not where you
- 40:28Speaker 4: want to be. And yeah, they a lot of people
- 40:31Speaker 4: think they might.
- 40:31Speaker 5: Be the worst team in the NFL right now.
- 40:34Speaker 4: It's bad shocker their defense and not the worst roster either.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Who's gone her defense again. I think he's a naggy. Yeah,
- 40:42Speaker 5: he's got no cakes.
- 40:43Speaker 3: No cakes, weak chin, mister Dennis Allen.
- 40:47Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a break and when we come back,
- 40:50Speaker 4: we'll wrap it up like we do every single day,
- 40:52Speaker 4: answering your questions. Will ask the bench here to close
- 40:55Speaker 4: it out. On a Thursday edition of O T Beat.

- 43:02Speaker 4: While Flynn mocking Hester's hard tacos or tea, Bob mocking
- 43:06Speaker 4: Tampa Tay's chicken fajitas.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he did hate.
- 43:10Speaker 4: On Taylor because Taylor liked to get chicken fajitas and

- 43:28Speaker 7: No, that's not a weird take at all. Yeah, Taylor,
- 43:32Speaker 7: you're cool man. Way it's I mean, it's way more
- 43:34Speaker 7: normal than like thinking that hard shell tagos are the
- 43:37Speaker 7: only taco.
- 43:37Speaker 5: In the world. I don't remember saying that.
- 43:41Speaker 4: I just I found it fascinating that you were, like,
- 43:45Speaker 4: people eat hard tacos.
- 43:46Speaker 5: Yeah they do. It's crazy.
- 43:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, as the bench, should the chat organize our

- 44:26Speaker 5: It was left on. Okay, let's do it.
- 44:29Speaker 7: We do need to organize an OTB tailgate, though, that
- 44:31Speaker 7: would be fun.
- 44:36Speaker 5: South Carolina. Can I interest you in that?
- 44:39Speaker 3: I was thinking more Western Kentucky?
- 44:41Speaker 4: Okay, because more relaxed, more chill, more chill, guaranteed night game.
- 44:49Speaker 4: You know, one of those ones where you can like,
- 44:52Speaker 4: you know, we're sitting here, we're shooting the bull, We're
- 44:53Speaker 4: talking about how great things are, but we're not really
- 44:56Speaker 4: worried about, you know, the outcome of the game. Maybe
- 45:00Speaker 4: I'm wrong, I mean, because you know me, I'd actually like,
- 45:03Speaker 4: I'd rather do.
- 45:05Speaker 3: It against A and M.
- 45:07Speaker 4: That'd be awesome because I want to, like, I want
- 45:09Speaker 4: to have that feeling of playing a major opponent.
- 45:11Speaker 5: So it took to you all. I'm just I'm giving
- 45:13Speaker 5: you options.
- 45:14Speaker 7: Western was like with your job on Western Kentucky a
- 45:17Speaker 7: little bit low, like can you have a couple more pops?
- 45:19Speaker 5: And what I was thinking, you have a couple more pops.
- 45:21Speaker 5: Before that you might have decoded.
- 45:24Speaker 3: What I was trying to steer.
- 45:26Speaker 5: You just want to drink more? Got it? Perfect? That's cool.
- 45:29Speaker 7: That's why you want to go early too, so you
- 45:31Speaker 7: have some breakfast beers, go take a little napski in

- 45:37Speaker 7: You got me? Okay, fair fair, we'll do here pro dreams.
