Transcript
- 0:01Hi, and welcome to the Seated podcast with Furniture Row.
- 0:04I'm Jessa, creative director and design extraordinaire, and I'm
- 0:08Barb, interior designer and buyer.
- 0:12Welcome to the Seated with Furniture Row podcast.
- 0:16We're at a different location today with a different cohost.
- 0:20This is Brad. He has been with the company for
- 0:24a long time and we're talking with him about his expertise on
- 0:31game day spaces because this time of year that we're filming
- 0:37is arguably one of the most important times for your couch.
- 0:43And it is the big game of the year in February, which for
- 0:49legal reasons, we cannot mention by name, but you know what we're
- 0:53talking about the bowl of soup, the big, the big bowl of soup.
- 0:58So welcome, Brad, and thanks for being on the podcast today.
- 1:04Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, well, I don't know how
- 1:07many podcasts you've been on, so let's just kind of get into it
- 1:13with some fun, some fun rapid fire questions around around the
- 1:18big game. Are you a potato chips or
- 1:22pretzels person? Definitely potato chips.
- 1:24Yeah, I'm with you, Coker Pepsi. Pepsi.
- 1:29OK, commercials are big game. Big game.
- 1:34Wings or pizza? Wings.
- 1:38And then do you root for the favorite or the underdog to win
- 1:41typically? I'd say the underdog generally.
- 1:44Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 1:47Well, yeah, I think I am totally on the same page as you.
- 1:55Do you? What do you typically do for the
- 1:57big game? A big game you got to have you
- 2:02got to have a party, you know, you got it you talked about your
- 2:06your living spaces the biggest time of year for your for to
- 2:10entertain and to to just have people over.
- 2:14So definitely make a lot of food, have a lot of people over,
- 2:22you know, sometimes, well, a lot of times the prep is longer than
- 2:26the actual game lasts, so. That's the true for like any
- 2:30time you entertain, though I feel like the prep is always
- 2:33longer than the party itself. But yeah, it's winter, so people
- 2:39want a reason to get together and usually there's a good turn
- 2:43out because people are like, we got to go somewhere.
- 2:46Oh, absolutely. I don't think you can have too
- 2:48many people. Yeah, in my opinion.
- 2:51I agree. I agree.
- 2:53Well, especially since, I mean, OK, I feel like you do have to
- 2:57set up your space, though, if you're going to have a lot of
- 2:58people. There's going to be like some
- 3:01people who really want to watch the game and other people who
- 3:05are like, I got to catch up with my friends.
- 3:07And you can't have those people, you know, conflicting with each
- 3:11other or else people get upset. Yeah, and I'll add a third level
- 3:14to that because you've got the people that really want to watch
- 3:17the game. Maybe the people are just there
- 3:20for the commercials, but then you also have the kids.
- 3:22Oh yeah. So sometimes you have to have
- 3:24three different spaces. Three different zones, yes.
- 3:28How do you usually make that happen?
- 3:30We'll do, you know, we'll do a setup upstairs with the, with
- 3:35the sectional and you know, different areas for food and
- 3:39snacks. And then we have a basement area
- 3:42as well. So you've got sometimes you have
- 3:47it where the two teams are divided.
- 3:49If you have sports fans for for each team that's in it, or maybe
- 3:53fans that just have one team in it and they're in the basement
- 3:57and they're hardcore watching the game.
- 3:59And then you've got the, the, the separate section upstairs
- 4:03that is, you know, just chatting it up about everything but
- 4:07football really locked in on the commercials and, and, or just
- 4:13just hanging out and, and catching up on life.
- 4:15So. Yeah, yeah, I for me, I am
- 4:20definitely the person that I'm here.
- 4:24This is the marketing. And unless my team, my Wisconsin
- 4:28team, is in the, I'm typically not as focused on the game.
- 4:34Like, and you're talking about the big game, I assume the big
- 4:36game. The big game.
- 4:37The big. Game.
- 4:38Yes. Yeah, the big game of marketing.
- 4:44Is what it? Is yeah, so they are.
- 4:51The commercials are just the most interesting thing to me and
- 4:54I want to be able to hear them. And it's hard because people are
- 4:57talking so much that it's hard to hear it.
- 5:01Or maybe the the like sound isn't loud enough in the room
- 5:07and people are talking. So that's always one of my
- 5:10things. So I like that separate.
- 5:12So I'm the same way, except on the game, You know, the game's
- 5:15got to be loud enough and you know, something big's happening.
- 5:19I don't want anybody talking to me.
- 5:21But what specifically are you looking for when it comes to
- 5:23these commercials? Like what?
- 5:25What? Where is society today, You
- 5:30know, what do people care about? And how are brands shifting to
- 5:37speak to people and get people's attention?
- 5:39Because getting people's attention is so difficult that
- 5:44you have to be pretty clever, either through comedy or just
- 5:48like a really bizarre visual. So just seeing where we're at as
- 5:56a society, I kind of like gotcha through commercials.
- 5:58And then, of course, the halftime show, Yeah, is also a
- 6:03great. Well, very interesting, I've
- 6:07never looked at it that way. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:09So, and then, yeah, the game is great.
- 6:12It's fun, fun times. But I, I'm a social, I like the
- 6:17environment of football. So that's why I feel like it's
- 6:20helpful for you to be here. Do you have any like game
- 6:23rituals that you do for your team to win?
- 6:27Like, are you superstitious? Absolutely, yeah, 100%.
- 6:33You'll notice a couple jerseys on the back of these sofas here
- 6:36and you know, my family knows that as long as my team is in
- 6:42the playoffs and it doesn't matter if it's baseball or
- 6:44football or hockey, the jerseys are going to be on the back of
- 6:48the sofa and they don't leave until the team loses.
- 6:54So yeah, that just has to happen.
- 6:57Yeah, that's that's important. And I think maybe you've helped
- 7:01a lot of teams win that way. I know that I have, yeah.
- 7:04It's 100% on me. Well, they should really be
- 7:07writing you a thank you card then.
- 7:09No, people think I'm crazy and that, you know, the jerseys as
- 7:12people sit, they start, you know, falling off and
- 7:15everything, but we get them right back up there so.
- 7:17Yeah, we got to. Yeah, we got to get them back up
- 7:19there. So what do you think the most
- 7:25drastic changes have been in entertainment spaces lately?
- 7:30Like, there's a lot of new tech out there.
- 7:31It's not what it used to be. Yes, you know, you know, I
- 7:36mentioned that I have sectionals both upstairs and downstairs,
- 7:40but you know, you don't just have these these sofas that that
- 7:45recline should we put coolers in in now?
- 7:51But you also have the immersive sound, which I think is probably
- 7:57the biggest evolvement right now is just having, you know, not
- 8:02just the motion, but the sound in the sofas, the vibration, you
- 8:08know, turning up the the bass and the treble.
- 8:10I mean, it's, it's really incredible what is all included
- 8:14in in living spaces now, so. Yeah, 'cause it used to just be
- 8:18the big entertainment wall with all of the, you know, sound
- 8:24devices that were hard to turn on.
- 8:27And then it was really intimidating for me as just
- 8:32growing up and as somebody that's not an expert here.
- 8:35I don't want to blow out any speakers.
- 8:38I don't know what remote goes where.
- 8:42And now I really like that the sound is incorporated in a lot
- 8:47of the furniture because it takes the headache away.
- 8:49But also like if I'm going to watch football and I'm going to
- 8:52spend time on that, I want to watch it.
- 8:56Like I want to be in it. I want to be invested.
- 8:58And like I've said, that's hard for me to do, but if I can feel
- 9:02it, like feel the tackles and feel the sound going on, I'll be
- 9:08there, you know, So that's, that's what's cool.
- 9:11Yeah, you mentioned that the entertainment centers, the areas
- 9:15and dealing with all the chords and really kind of an eyesore
- 9:20and now everything's hidden and it's still all there provided
- 9:23for you is really incredible. Right, which is nice because I
- 9:27think it's always been hard to balance aesthetics with comfort.
- 9:32And you know, if we get this really intense recliner that has
- 9:37storage and a cooler and things like that, typically it's not
- 9:41very aesthetically pleasing. And you know, a lot of design
- 9:47forward people don't even want their TV to be showing.
- 9:50They have, you know, those TV's that look like an art canvas
- 9:54when it's not being used. So having things just really
- 9:58built in allows for the aesthetic too and the and the
- 10:05experience. So.
- 10:06Yeah. The other thing that that I'll
- 10:08mention, you know, my wife in particular doesn't want to have
- 10:14furniture that looks like it's reclining.
- 10:17Yeah. Like doesn't, doesn't want it to
- 10:19look like it is a reclining piece.
- 10:22And, you know, that's also an evolution of these, these sets
- 10:26that look like a stationary piece.
- 10:30Yeah. And whether they just kick back
- 10:31by by pushing on the back or they do have, you know, a hidden
- 10:36component. Yeah.
- 10:37Little button. So that that is also.
- 10:39Yeah, a really good feature of these.
- 10:42Yeah, like what we're sitting in, I don't even know.
- 10:44Oh, the buttons are pretty slim, but it's nice that it reclines
- 10:50and it's not it it's comfortable, but it doesn't look
- 10:53comfortable, if that makes sense.
- 10:56It it looks comfortable but it's not like ratty or or or like
- 11:02overly. Yeah, over the top.
- 11:03Yeah, over the top. It's definitely style focus.
- 11:07So I think that's interesting for people that are big hosts or
- 11:14really enjoy their entertainment space to kind of just know what
- 11:19the technological advancements are here, like how to step up
- 11:23your game, no pun intended, with hosting and in their space.
- 11:30So that's that's kind of cool to me.
- 11:36So do you have an idea of, like you said, there's not too many
- 11:40people. Yeah, but like how many people
- 11:43would be too many, do you think like.
- 11:46Must be, you know, I think that you could have, you know, a few
- 11:50families upstairs, which, you know, let's just call it four or
- 11:55five in a family. So 15 or 20 upstairs, 15 or 20
- 11:59downstairs. And I, I think it just creates,
- 12:04even if you aren't a fan of, of the team that's in the big game,
- 12:07it's like just creating action and, and, and fun and
- 12:13conversation, like you said. And I think it, it makes the
- 12:17game fun for everybody. Yeah.
- 12:20Whether your team is in it or not.
- 12:21Yeah. Kids running all over the place,
- 12:24great food. You know, everybody generally
- 12:26brings something right to, to pass and to share.
- 12:29Yeah, I just, I think it it brings everybody together.
- 12:34I think the day after the big game should be a national
- 12:37holiday. I think that it should really.
- 12:39I mean, that's, that's be real here.
- 12:41Let's be real. That's how I feel about.
- 12:43Yeah, we gotta clean up Sunday. Now.
- 12:46We gotta regroup here. But yeah, it just brings
- 12:49everybody together and and everybody is, is happy.
- 12:53So yeah, well, that's that's good to have these days.
- 12:56Heartwarming. I agree.
- 12:58And if you're in like a little, if you don't have multi levels,
- 13:02you can also create different spaces within the same level.
- 13:08Like maybe you have an area in the kitchen and then you have
- 13:13modular seating in the living room.
- 13:16So people can sit in different little clusters.
- 13:18Because if you have a bunch of people together, you know, like
- 13:22you're saying, there's some people who are going to want to
- 13:24chat and other people who are going to want to like watch and
- 13:26pay attention. So if you have some people on a
- 13:30love seat and some people on a sofa and another person sitting
- 13:33in like a recliner, then it's a little bit more divided up
- 13:40instead of people sitting in a line on a sectional.
- 13:42I think it can be kind of nice. Well, and, and we divide our,
- 13:46our area for any game, you know, sliding a sofa table behind the
- 13:53sofa and having a few stools at it, maybe having, you know, just
- 13:58a couple chairs with a, with an end table for a little sitting
- 14:02area for someone else down in the basement.
- 14:05Having the poker table set up off to the side.
- 14:07So three or four people want to just huddle around there and not
- 14:12even watch the game. Yeah, not that's not important
- 14:14at all. What's important is just that
- 14:16everyone's together and hanging out.
- 14:18Exactly, and I like what you said about sofa tables because
- 14:22you want to have some snacks close to where you're sitting
- 14:25and watching. So you don't like get up to grab
- 14:28something and then miss something important, whether
- 14:30it's the game or the commercials.
- 14:34So you could put snacks on the sofa table behind the sofas and
- 14:40people could just grab whatever they need.
- 14:43Absolutely. So that's kind of fun and
- 14:45everybody's going to bring something.
- 14:46So you need a lot of space to put things.
- 14:49But yeah, you can. You can have a big reclining
- 14:54area plus a little table with chairs, you know, for people to
- 14:58kind of just be divided up and have all sorts of different
- 15:03setups. What do you think the best seat
- 15:06in the house is? Well, for me, I think everybody
- 15:11in my family knows that we've got the sectional with the
- 15:14chaise that comes off OK and that is for me.
- 15:18Get me set up on the chaise feed up, you know, drink on the on
- 15:23the end table, snacks on the coffee table.
- 15:29You know, I don't want to move from that spot.
- 15:31As long as the game's on, I will.
- 15:33I will host and entertain before the game, after the game.
- 15:37And from that space, maybe, you know, people know that you're
- 15:41there and that's where to find you.
- 15:43But maybe don't don't find you. You're going to be, you're going
- 15:47to be on the chase well. Especially if my team's in it
- 15:50and things aren't going well. Yeah, don't find me.
- 15:54Got to focus here. But yeah, that is my favorite
- 15:56seat in the house, that Chase lounge.
- 15:58Got to be with the jerseys, got to be on the chaise, got to make
- 16:01sure the jerseys are in place. Things got to go well, I get it.
- 16:06But I'm I'm a fan of that too. I think my favorite is like like
- 16:11A2 seater sofa with a chaise because then you can sit or one
- 16:16person can be laying down this way and another person can be
- 16:19laying down on the chaise or by this way.
- 16:22I'm across the sofa and down the shades.
- 16:26So. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:28And that's a great way to to have multiple comfort options in
- 16:32a smaller space as well if you need to.
- 16:36But yeah, well, now that we kind of got some of the best seats in
- 16:42the house and our game day routines established, let's take
- 16:47a halftime break and look at some of the things we were
- 16:49talking about just to give people some creative ideas here,
- 16:53how to set up their space. Great.
- 18:55Welcome back from halftime, that little halftime excursion we
- 18:59went on. Yeah, I'm pretty comfortable
- 19:03here in this new space. It's a lot more design focused,
- 19:07but you wouldn't know it's actually sound.
- 19:10Will play through this as well. So I'll have to show you that.
- 19:14Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:16Yeah, actually, where I told you I was more of a chip guy.
- 19:19Where'd the chips go? Yeah, wow.
- 19:22I think I got. It yeah, we can't.
- 19:25We can't continue without the chips.
- 19:26I know it's important. There we go.
- 19:28Yeah. I just had to keep you on your
- 19:31toes. OK?
- 19:33Yeah, you got to. You can't have clutter.
- 19:37So I thought, let's store them for when they're really
- 19:41important. Not just for blankets.
- 19:43Yeah, not just for blankets, could be for chips.
- 19:46It's for whatever people need it for.
- 19:49So in this case, potato chips. But yeah, I guess, yeah.
- 19:54So this is the compose and it's just a lot more style focused
- 20:00rather than, you know, chunky reclining.
- 20:04So this is great for me in my opinion, for an actual living
- 20:10room space because throughout the year it can look really
- 20:13style focused, but then it actually plays music and I'll
- 20:20show you that aspect. And you can actually feel, feel
- 20:31it coming through the sofa. So I think that's pretty cool.
- 20:35But but yeah, so you could actually feel the game, feel
- 20:39every tackle and not compromise your style.
- 20:46Which, yeah, or in your case, put it on for the halftime show.
- 20:49Yeah, put it on for the halftime show.
- 20:50Really feel the bass, really feel the music.
- 20:54It's like you're there, we got your jerseys too.
- 20:59We didn't move without those. So that's we've got everything.
- 21:01We've got everything we need. Speaking of halftime, what are
- 21:07your favorite things you look forward to during the halftime
- 21:10show? Like what's important to you
- 21:11with the? Halftime show, you know, Bad
- 21:14Bunny this year, Not necessarily my thing, but halftime's a good,
- 21:19good time to get up, fill the fill the bowls of chips, fill,
- 21:24you know, get refreshments for people.
- 21:28I can be more of a host. Yeah.
- 21:30During the halftime show. You're not so locked into the
- 21:33game. Yeah, go around, get, get into
- 21:35people's conversations if they'd like, and just interact and
- 21:41mingle a little bit more during halftime for me.
- 21:43What about you? Halftime.
- 21:45I want a really good sound experience, so this setup is
- 21:50awesome because you can actually hear in surround sound what's
- 21:54going on during halftime. Or the commercials for that
- 21:57matter. But I remember last year I was
- 21:59at a friend's house and they set up like a big speaker in the
- 22:05kitchen. And then they had ATV set up in
- 22:07the kitchen and they just like turned off all the lights and it
- 22:11was just halftime. You know, it was like a, it was
- 22:14like a concert, which I love. And I just, I like the theatrics
- 22:19of it. I'm the person that watches the
- 22:21Thanksgiving Day parade, the halftime show.
- 22:25Like, I want to know like, who are they going to bring in as a
- 22:28guest? Like, what setup are they going
- 22:31to have to represent their style music?
- 22:34And so to me, it's like, yeah, I get more excited about some
- 22:38halftime performers than others. Like the Lady Gaga one totally
- 22:43stands out to me as one of the best because, I mean, she was
- 22:45flying through the air. She was glitter.
- 22:49You know, I just loved that one. But it every year I love seeing
- 22:55what different performers do. The one last year Kendrick Lamar
- 22:58was awesome, especially with that great sound setup that we
- 23:03had. So I'm a I'm a big halftime
- 23:06person. Big halftime person.
- 23:09But yeah, it is kind of interesting though, that this is
- 23:14white. What do you think about white
- 23:17furniture? Well, I do have 4 kids, so
- 23:21white. White does scare me for sure.
- 23:26But I think more and more with the performance fabrics.
- 23:32I mean even at Furniture Row we have cleaning products that we
- 23:36have that we sell that will take anything out of white.
- 23:41So I think overall, yes, it would be a little bit scary with
- 23:47the kids eating, spilling drinks on it, whatever the case may be.
- 23:53But doesn't seem like your best friend with wings potentially
- 23:57just be like wiping. The wing fingers.
- 24:00Yeah, wing fingers might end up creating.
- 24:04I mean, a lot of people are are painting furniture now or
- 24:08drawing on furniture or I the trend I think is maybe like an
- 24:13artist draws on leather and you buy it, but you could add to it
- 24:17if you want. It's a really unique trend, so
- 24:19you could play the end of that. But also with white, you can
- 24:23change the style of your room just by adding different color
- 24:26pillows. Yeah, or artwork.
- 24:28Because it is so neutral, it really opens you up to to design
- 24:32your room how you want. So I could see that as a
- 24:35positive for sure. Yeah, for sure.
- 24:37And yeah, like you're saying, I think white is so popular when
- 24:42we go to markets and see furniture for living rooms, it
- 24:47is everywhere. And so it's hard to avoid and it
- 24:53looks great and it brings like that visual attention and pop of
- 24:59non colored pop of brightness into your space.
- 25:02So people want it. But the good news is that it is
- 25:06performance fabric. So things come out a lot easier
- 25:11in a lot. I would look for making sure you
- 25:14have performance fabric if you're getting a white sofa
- 25:18yeah, which there's so many options out there for it now.
- 25:21Fabric technology has come so far and it's easy to clean.
- 25:26Just keep you know, I would just like keep permanent markers away
- 25:30if you can maybe just like set everyone up for success here.
- 25:36But if there's a mistake, then we're all good because it's not
- 25:42going. To run, yeah, See, I think in
- 25:43our house we have the jar of permanent markers sitting on the
- 25:46coffee table at all times because there's nothing but
- 25:49artwork going on. So yeah, hard to avoid, but at
- 25:52least you can clean it if you need to so.
- 25:56Yeah, that's very true. That's very true.
- 25:59Do you have any pet peeves that you have for?
- 26:04From a. Hosting Perspective Hosting a
- 26:07game day watch party. Nothing's really jumping out,
- 26:12you know, I think we've talked about it a lot.
- 26:13I think naturally kind of the groups divide and you've set.
- 26:18Things up? Well, to eliminate the pet
- 26:20peeves. And I think that's important to
- 26:23just have a comfortable inviting space when, when you know you're
- 26:29going to have company, whether it's for the big game or
- 26:31something else, just creating comfort, creating a space that
- 26:37people want to come to and they want to come back for the the
- 26:40next year. And I think if you set it up
- 26:43right and you have different areas of of sitting and
- 26:48conversating, I think you're in in pretty good shape.
- 26:50You're in good shape. Yeah.
- 26:52I, I think a lot of people should consider, especially if
- 26:57they're hosting, just upping their game in their hosting
- 27:01spaces to watch just because if somebody's going to come to your
- 27:05house to watch this game, you want to feel like they are
- 27:09stoked. Like, Oh my gosh, I chose the
- 27:11right house to be at and this is the party to be invited to.
- 27:18And I think you can create a lot of welcoming experiences.
- 27:22I was reading an article on like welcoming people to your house
- 27:26rather than trying to impress them.
- 27:27Because if people feel like everything is so pristine,
- 27:31they're not going to be able to just like relax and sit down
- 27:35where they want to sit down or have like that space that's away
- 27:38from everybody else if they need to answer a call or, you know,
- 27:41just feeling like they have what they need at their fingertips,
- 27:44whether it be cup holders or storage spaces.
- 27:47So Chameleon furniture is really cool in that sense, like that
- 27:52coffee table that has storage. You know, there's if the pillows
- 27:57are getting in the way of enough people being able to sit down,
- 28:00you can put them in the storage container or that is the coffee
- 28:04table without bulky issues. The other cool thing is if you
- 28:11have sofas or chairs that have wide enough arms that almost
- 28:18functions as another seat, you know, especially if somebody's
- 28:21not there for the long haul, they just want to be like, OK,
- 28:24who's winning? You know you can just sit.
- 28:27I saw you doing that on the walkthrough.
- 28:29Yeah, yeah, cuz it's like, could I actually sit here comfortably,
- 28:33like as a stool? So that's kind of a cool thing
- 28:37to think about. But yeah, just, I mean, this
- 28:41looks super fashionable, but it's immersive and the sound
- 28:45comes through and then the remote, I lose everything.
- 28:49So it's nice that it kind of clicks on to, yeah.
- 28:52Just magnets to the side. Yeah, otherwise I would lose it
- 28:56for sure. Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:59For me, I think the most important thing with pet peeves,
- 29:05the things that bother me are like I said, I want a nerd out
- 29:12marketing and just know what's going on in the commercials.
- 29:16And if everybody's talking or they're like, okay, it's a break
- 29:19from the game and it gets really loud and I can't hear what's
- 29:22going on in the commercial. It's like, okay, I'm going to
- 29:25have to look this up later and see, but I like being involved
- 29:29in the conversation and having an idea of what's going on
- 29:34there. So every year I watch the Super
- 29:36Bowl, I'm like, I gotta find like my marketing nerd friends
- 29:40to watch this with because we're just gonna.
- 29:42Yeah. And I think you nailed it with
- 29:44the separate TV that was in a specific room for the halftime
- 29:48show, setting up different areas.
- 29:51I said mine were upstairs and in the basement, but it doesn't
- 29:54have to be that. Yeah, it can be all on the.
- 29:56Yeah, it can be all on the same floor.
- 29:58Yeah. But if you are going to have
- 29:59ATV, make sure that you you bring in some other chairs,
- 30:02whether it's a couple sitting chairs or recliners or something
- 30:06to make it cozy and comfortable that, oh, I can be off to the
- 30:09side watching a separate TV for my, you know, specific
- 30:15commercials or the game or whatever, right.
- 30:17And I'm still going to feel comfortable.
- 30:19And it'll probably create a separate space where others are
- 30:24going to join you. Yeah, for sure.
- 30:27Well, in some parts of the US you can have an outdoor set up.
- 30:33I know in the fall my friends always have an outdoor TV on
- 30:36their patio. And this time of year it could
- 30:38get kind of dicey depending on where you live.
- 30:40But you could have a fire pit or heaters and then an outdoor TV
- 30:45and people could be like bundled and it could, it would feel like
- 30:49a tailgating experience and with like.
- 30:52You're at the game. Yeah, like you're at the game,
- 30:55you know, pretend like you're at the Super Bowl in Wisconsin.
- 30:58I would just be amazed by how people would tailgate and it'd
- 31:02be like -20 and they'd be out there just grilling, eating
- 31:07brats. And I'm like, that is
- 31:08commitment. And I kind of like that aspect
- 31:12of just people having a shared thing that they're rallying
- 31:18around and being committed to it.
- 31:20That's something I like about football.
- 31:22Commitment. Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:24Yeah, you're like with the jerseys.
- 31:27I'm sure people have other. Have you heard of any other
- 31:31superstitious things? I know this is yours.
- 31:34Yeah, you know, not, you know, not shaving the beard.
- 31:37Oh yeah. Not changing the socks, which is
- 31:39a kind of a gross one. Yeah, like never washing them.
- 31:42Yeah, that that doesn't work for me.
- 31:44Yeah, the jersey seems pretty tame.
- 31:47Yeah, if you're if you're putting it up against not
- 31:50washing your socks. I feel like I heard of somebody.
- 31:52They were like my team scored, or maybe like their husband was
- 31:57on a team, but they were like, I was crouched down grabbing the
- 32:00laundry basket next to the sofa and he scored.
- 32:04And so now I crouched down next to the sofa with the laundry
- 32:09basket like, well, that can't be.
- 32:11Well, I think a big one is where you were sitting at the time the
- 32:14touchdown was scored or if there was an interception, you got to
- 32:18switch positions. But it's like we're all lined up
- 32:22in the exact same spot. That is a real thing.
- 32:24Yeah, Jimmy, you got to sit over there.
- 32:27That is your seat if you. Don't sit there.
- 32:29They're going to lose. Yeah.
- 32:31So it is funny how superstitious people get and that we all kind
- 32:37of have that in common a little bit.
- 32:39I haven't really met anybody that's like, I'm just not
- 32:42superstitious at all. I feel like we all kind of yeah,
- 32:46lock a little. Well, fan stands for phonetic.
- 32:49Fanatic. So.
- 32:51Oh, I never thought about that. Yeah.
- 32:53That is sad. We're all a little crazy.
- 32:56I think so. I know I am, But try to keep it
- 33:00pretty normal around most people.
- 33:02It's hard. It's hard some days, but but
- 33:05yeah, we're all fanatics for something.
- 33:09Well, I am just really excited that we got to sit down.
- 33:14I think it's been fun because you are more of a sports fan and
- 33:19I am more of a style person, so I needed your perspective here.
- 33:23I was not going to be able to to really talk about hosting a
- 33:27game, watching experience, and I've learned a lot.
- 33:31Well I appreciate you having me, this was fun.
- 33:33It was fun, I guess. Final closing things.
- 33:37Let's do another rapid fire. OK, questioning.
- 33:41Let's do it on hosting preferences.
- 33:44Do you prefer fabric or leather? I'm fine with either, but I'm
- 33:51going to go leather. OK, immersive or not?
- 33:55Immersive. Easy.
- 33:57It just really UPS the game sectional or sofa.
- 34:01Sectional. Oh yeah, with your.
- 34:03Yeah, I have two sections. Yeah, Yeah.
- 34:07Well, that's fun. I, I think I'm a, I'm a fabric
- 34:12person just because it feels cozier, but I, I should be
- 34:16convinced that leather can be cozy too.
- 34:19Oh. Yeah, we have leather upstairs,
- 34:21fabric downstairs. Little bit of both.
- 34:24It looks so nice. Yeah, and the leather ends up
- 34:26changing temperature to your body, so it's they're both cozy.
- 34:31Yeah, I'm really bad at rapid fire because I always want to be
- 34:34like, yeah, you know, and like join in on the conversation.
- 34:38So it's never really that rapid with me.
- 34:40But anyway, thank you for being. Here again.
- 34:43Absolutely yeah. For everyone watching, let us
- 34:47know what your game day superstitions are.
