Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wisecracks. Bill Krakenberger over here,
- 0:03Speaker 1: fabulous circa. A little bit calmer in here today than
- 0:06Speaker 1: it has been my last few shows here. Everyone's signing
- 0:09Speaker 1: up for contests and the buzz was in the air.
- 0:11Speaker 1: NFL week one, lots of carnage with only one team
- 0:16Speaker 1: going down, which was the Chargers. The Bills almost went,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry, the Bills, the Lions almost went down. Even
- 0:23Speaker 1: if the Lions would have kicked the extra, Saints would
- 0:26Speaker 1: have kicked the extra point, the tie, ties lose. So
- 0:29Speaker 1: that would have been Also, another big loss to Grandissimo.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I think there was 10 of the selections were Lions, 26,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I believe, on Grandissimo, on the Chargers, including my group,
- 0:43Speaker 1: my buddies in Carolina, losing that one. So the Chargers,
- 0:48Speaker 1: they're out first week. Don't have to worry about it.
- 0:50Speaker 1: No stress. No nothing. You're out the whole week. Of course,
- 0:53Speaker 1: they're already talking about buying back in and going into
- 0:56Speaker 1: one of these. They have this thing called, I think
- 0:58Speaker 1: it's called Survivor Sweat. I'm sorry if that's the name.
- 1:01Speaker 1: That's the wrong name. I think that's it, though. It's
- 1:04Speaker 1: a marketplace where you can go in and actually buy
- 1:06Speaker 1: pieces of other teams. The problem was last year, I
- 1:11Speaker 1: looked in that a couple times, and they just wanted
- 1:14Speaker 1: ridiculous markups. Ridiculous. I mean, just stupid. So we didn't
- 1:18Speaker 1: get involved at all the year before I did. The
- 1:21Speaker 1: year before that I did, we actually had a nice
- 1:23Speaker 1: cash for a big amount of money a couple of
- 1:26Speaker 1: years before that. But that's because we buy in at,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know, we kind of want to know what the
- 1:32Speaker 1: true odds are or the true value of it. But
- 1:34Speaker 1: you also want to know what the picks they have available.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So there's a lot more than just saying what the
- 1:40Speaker 1: mathematical pick value is based on, you know, how many
- 1:44Speaker 1: entrants are left. So, you know, I just got back
- 1:48Speaker 1: from Pennsylvania yesterday. A lot of the casinos there. I'll
- 1:51Speaker 1: give a lot of them shout-outs here. Parks, Rivers, Valley Forge,
- 1:57Speaker 1: Wind Creek, Mount Airy, Mohegan Sun. The last ones were
- 2:00Speaker 1: really good to me. I really like up there, too.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It's just clean living, man. Up in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
- 2:07Speaker 1: When I was a kid, Mount Airy Lodge used to
- 2:09Speaker 1: be a place you used to go on vacation, and
- 2:12Speaker 1: they had, like, the lake out there. You can go
- 2:14Speaker 1: in the winter, and it's all frozen ice skating and
- 2:18Speaker 1: beautiful indoor different activities and just beautiful up there. Now
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's a casino. The same thing with Mohegan Sun. Mohegan
- 2:27Speaker 1: Sun is at a racetrack there, Pocono. I think it
- 2:30Speaker 1: was called Pocono Downs, and they have a big casino
- 2:33Speaker 1: there now they built. And it's shocking to me how
- 2:37Speaker 1: busy these places are on the weekends. I couldn't believe Friday, Saturday.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Mohegan was pretty busy every day, but like Mount Airy, packed. Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Couldn't get a parking space. That's how busy it was. Unbelievable.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And you know, as much as I do like those places,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I put some notes down about the fabric of America
- 2:59Speaker 1: being destroyed. And now I'm not going to just pick
- 3:01Speaker 1: on the Poconos in Pennsylvania. And you guys know I'm
- 3:04Speaker 1: a little behalf of a wackadoo too. I'm here in
- 3:06Speaker 1: a casino talking about the fabric of America being destroyed
- 3:09Speaker 1: by gambling. I'm more meaning those blue-collar, hard-working farm country areas.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I look at a place like Tunica, where I went
- 3:17Speaker 1: with my dad. My dad was a big Elvis fan,
- 3:19Speaker 1: so he wanted to go to Memphis and see Graceland,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and thank God I was able to take him there,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and I became an Elvis fan that day. Elvis was okay,
- 3:28Speaker 1: but I became a giant Elvis fan. I can't get
- 3:31Speaker 1: enough Elvis stuff now based on going to Graceland, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: I've been there a couple times now. Beautiful country there.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And I thought Tunica was great. We stayed at the
- 3:39Speaker 1: casinos there. The casinos I stayed at is closed now.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It was called Grand Casinos, and it's closed now. I
- 3:48Speaker 1: thought it was a giant, big, beautiful casino. I thought
- 3:51Speaker 1: it was beautiful. I had a great time. We went
- 3:53Speaker 1: around to some other casinos. A lot of those places
- 3:55Speaker 1: didn't last. Why? They broke everybody. There wasn't enough casinos
- 3:59Speaker 1: to go around for them. There wasn't enough people to
- 4:01Speaker 1: go around them. You know, in these casinos, these are hardworking,
- 4:04Speaker 1: blue-collar people. I've seen it up in Pennsylvania, too. I've seen...
- 4:08Speaker 1: I have buddies that live up there, and they were
- 4:12Speaker 1: telling me, like, I was in a pool hall. Give
- 4:14Speaker 1: a shout out to Kevin Clark, Clarky Billiards in Scranton.
- 4:18Speaker 1: My buddy up there, great pool player, by the way.
- 4:20Speaker 1: One of the best pool players, you know, definitely in
- 4:22Speaker 1: Pennsylvania for sure. But he's having a big match with
- 4:25Speaker 1: Johnny Archer, who was an old-time pool guy. I say old-time,
- 4:29Speaker 1: he's my age. But I think he's from Raleigh, North Carolina.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That's where he lived at the time. But they're having
- 4:34Speaker 1: a big pool match here at the end of the month.
- 4:36Speaker 1: But I was up there in Kevin's billiard hall. And
- 4:39Speaker 1: I just talked to a lot of the players that
- 4:41Speaker 1: were playing pool in there. And he said, Bill, people
- 4:45Speaker 1: don't go out to dinners. They don't go on vacations.
- 4:49Speaker 1: They don't do things our parents did back in the 70s.
- 4:53Speaker 1: They don't eat at the dinner table. You know, don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: spend time with families. You know, I don't want to
- 5:01Speaker 1: blame casinos for all of that. But you can guarantee
- 5:04Speaker 1: that they're not going out to dinners and vacations and
- 5:06Speaker 1: stuff because they don't have money. Because they're losing that
- 5:08Speaker 1: money at the casino. And that's what they all do.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I got those words from them directly. I put a
- 5:14Speaker 1: little note down to myself. Hardworking, blue-collar people. Generational family money.
- 5:20Speaker 1: One of the guys told me about so many people
- 5:24Speaker 1: that blew their family's fortunes when these casinos opened up.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And by the way, like I said, there's over half
- 5:31Speaker 1: a dozen of them there. Not picking on any one
- 5:34Speaker 1: individual person. And he just said that everyone had, you know,
- 5:36Speaker 1: people that have money saved, they were saving for their
- 5:38Speaker 1: grandkids and stuff. There is no money for the grandkids.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It's all gone. The casinos have won it all, taken
- 5:44Speaker 1: it all. One of the main reasons is gambling is
- 5:46Speaker 1: now accepted everywhere. Everyone accepts it. So it's fun. They
- 5:51Speaker 1: make it recreational. It looks like it's fun in the
- 5:53Speaker 1: commercials and the athletes and celebrities and people that advertise.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So especially the sports books even. It's just such an
- 6:00Speaker 1: accepting form of gambling. If you want to call it leisure,
- 6:03Speaker 1: which I guess it is, but I know what happens
- 6:06Speaker 1: when the fun stops. So I don't mean to be
- 6:08Speaker 1: going off on a tangent here on promoting responsible gambling,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but that's just what I do. Also, the last story
- 6:16Speaker 1: one of the pool players told me was one of
- 6:18Speaker 1: the guys who used to come in the pool room
- 6:20Speaker 1: actually went to jail because he stole $ 300, 000 from his employer.
- 6:24Speaker 1: The next guy told me, One of the pool players
- 6:29Speaker 1: stole $ 88, 000 from his own mother. You can Google this
- 6:32Speaker 1: in the Poconos. $ 88, 000 from his mother. And, you know, literally,
- 6:39Speaker 1: it all goes to gambling. It does, you know. But
- 6:42Speaker 1: it's such a beautiful area up there, beautiful part of
- 6:44Speaker 1: the country. Porch swings and wind chimes and stuff that
- 6:49Speaker 1: my dad grew up with in the country. And I
- 6:51Speaker 1: miss that kind of stuff. And just going around with
- 6:53Speaker 1: my buddy for days there. We went to this great restaurant.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Matter of fact, I finally got a hold of the owner.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And I had to let him know because I wasn't
- 7:03Speaker 1: really expecting much. You know, we've been going to like
- 7:07Speaker 1: Carbone and Bavette's, Peter Luger's, Mother Wolf. I've had some
- 7:13Speaker 1: really good dinners here lately in Vegas. And I'm pretty
- 7:15Speaker 1: fortunate that I have some people around me that we
- 7:17Speaker 1: actually get comps for a lot of these meals, which
- 7:19Speaker 1: are ridiculous gourmet meals, to be blunt. You know, $ 100
- 7:24Speaker 1: plus a person. Well, there's a place that opened up
- 7:27Speaker 1: there called... The refinery in this little country town of
- 7:30Speaker 1: Pittston up in the Poconos. It's funny. I say country town.
- 7:33Speaker 1: That's where Russell Buffalino, if you guys watch the Irishman
- 7:36Speaker 1: or just know anything about mob history, Russell Buffalino buried
- 7:39Speaker 1: in Pittston and had a lot of businesses up there
- 7:41Speaker 1: in that area. But the refinery shocked me. I cannot
- 7:45Speaker 1: believe how good this restaurant was. By the way, you
- 7:48Speaker 1: can't get in. Try to get in right now. The
- 7:50Speaker 1: earliest reservation, the end of November, the hostess said to us. Shocked, shocked.
- 7:55Speaker 1: But Chef Chad over there, one of the partial owners,
- 7:59Speaker 1: great guy. We had a great time with him. And
- 8:02Speaker 1: he's seen that the group I was with, some big guys,
- 8:05Speaker 1: some guys that my buddies, my one buddy up there, Kevin,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Kevin Clark, went to dinner with him. And he just
- 8:12Speaker 1: started ordering appetizers. And he's like, you got to try this.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We ordered like four appetizers. And then we ordered a
- 8:17Speaker 1: fifth appetizer. And the kitchen actually noticed. He sent out
- 8:21Speaker 1: three more. So we had eight appetizers, which was really amazing.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But the food was great there. The main entrees there.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I had this lasagna pinwheels that were great. Kevin had
- 8:30Speaker 1: a pork with peppers. It was unbelievable. So anyway, if
- 8:34Speaker 1: you guys are ever in northeastern Pennsylvania there in Pittston,
- 8:38Speaker 1: try to get into the refinery. Very, very special. Not
- 8:42Speaker 1: even a fancy gourmet restaurant. I mean, jeans and sneakers
- 8:45Speaker 1: are absolutely fine. So that was a great place that
- 8:50Speaker 1: I was in, and I appreciated the sportsbooks taking my bets,
- 8:54Speaker 1: and I actually did make some money. I ran really
- 8:57Speaker 1: well in my first series of props. I think I
- 9:00Speaker 1: was 15-5 on my first set that I ran around
- 9:02Speaker 1: to some different places. As a matter of fact, Johnny
- 9:05Speaker 1: Detroit here reminded me, because I'm a terrible self-promoter. He said, hey,
- 9:09Speaker 1: your first weekend, NFL so far, and football in general, 13-7. 65%.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So that was a good start. And he said, oh,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you're out of all of our cappers, you're actually the
- 9:21Speaker 1: top one right now. Again, how many years have I
- 9:25Speaker 1: done this show without even mentioning anything like that? So
- 9:29Speaker 1: they mentioned Crackman 100, good for $ 100 off any 30-day
- 9:34Speaker 1: package or longer, including access to seasonal sports and special offers.
- 9:38Speaker 1: All right, that's enough of that. But, yeah, so... Great week,
- 9:43Speaker 1: great weekend. Like I always say, poker, I say poker,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I mean, actually I want to talk about the poker
- 9:49Speaker 1: room too, that's why. But I'll get to that in
- 9:51Speaker 1: one second. Props is where it's at, absolutely. And during
- 9:55Speaker 1: waiting one day, I sat down at the, where was
- 9:58Speaker 1: I at there? I was in one of the... casinos
- 10:00Speaker 1: in the poker room and sat down played one two
- 10:02Speaker 1: poker with a bunch of great guys nice people I
- 10:06Speaker 1: don't know I just poker for me I was discussing
- 10:09Speaker 1: it with a buddy of mine it seems like Vegas
- 10:11Speaker 1: they're just so serious and everyone's got scowls on their
- 10:14Speaker 1: face and they're just mean they're just they're just mean
- 10:18Speaker 1: and they take it too serious. I was up there
- 10:20Speaker 1: with a bunch of good old boys that were so
- 10:22Speaker 1: nice and so friendly. Now, one guy in the game
- 10:25Speaker 1: didn't know who I was, so he had me sharing
- 10:27Speaker 1: stories amongst the whole group, so that kind of brought
- 10:30Speaker 1: some conversations out of the group, though. But I had
- 10:32Speaker 1: a great time there. I had such a great time,
- 10:36Speaker 1: and I still have so many tickets to cash that
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'm going to be back. I don't know when. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: may fly back just for a day or two. I
- 10:43Speaker 1: was getting so much down at the time, so hopefully
- 10:46Speaker 1: it's Imagine you have to leave Las Vegas to go
- 10:48Speaker 1: bet sports. I mean, let me be blunt. I have
- 10:51Speaker 1: Circa right here to bet NFL player props. And I
- 10:55Speaker 1: have some reduced limits at, like, MGM. But I do
- 10:58Speaker 1: play MGM. They let me play right now. So I
- 11:01Speaker 1: am playing there on some player props. But I lost Westgate.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I don't have Caesars. I don't have Stations. So I
- 11:07Speaker 1: don't have places here because they also throw you out,
- 11:11Speaker 1: you know, Caesars and especially over at Stations. But again,
- 11:16Speaker 1: I love the casinos. I talk good. I love Durango.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I love Red Rock. I think everyone who comes out here,
- 11:22Speaker 1: you should see what the local flair is at one
- 11:24Speaker 1: of these casinos. Lower limits, lower prices on food, great place, stations, properties. Caesars,
- 11:30Speaker 1: I think everyone should go to Caesars Palace at least once.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Take a picture. Beautiful statue there on the way in.
- 11:35Speaker 1: The Rotunda. Everyone has been there, from the Rat Pack
- 11:39Speaker 1: to James Gandolfini filming the Sopranos there. So I talk
- 11:43Speaker 1: good and bad about everything, and I'm going to let
- 11:45Speaker 1: you know how it is without fear of retribution or anything.
- 11:50Speaker 1: If they want to fire me or throw me out,
- 11:52Speaker 1: throw me out. I mean, I'm going to talk good
- 11:53Speaker 1: about it. So anyway, I do have here to bet props,
- 11:55Speaker 1: but not like I had over there. I had places.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I had four different places within an hour's drive, a nice,
- 12:04Speaker 1: beautiful drive, too. take a dime each. I'll take some
- 12:07Speaker 1: max bets. I can re-bet. And they were really good
- 12:10Speaker 1: to me. So I had a great time there. And
- 12:11Speaker 1: I'm planning on definitely going back there. I want to
- 12:16Speaker 1: talk about a couple things here before we bring on Randy.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Randy's going to come on. I see in the... You know,
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm an old school guy. I like the old sign
- 12:23Speaker 1: there from Circus Circus. So Circus Circus, the sign went off.
- 12:28Speaker 1: It was fried, they're calling it. It's fried. There's no
- 12:31Speaker 1: more Circus Circus clown outside. That's lit up. They said
- 12:34Speaker 1: it's going to cost us $ 20 million to fix the sign,
- 12:39Speaker 1: and they've opted not to fix the sign. This is
- 12:42Speaker 1: an old sign, 123-foot landmark by Yesco. It's the old
- 12:46Speaker 1: sign company, 1976. And so now I guess I'm surprised
- 12:51Speaker 1: Phil Ruffin, you know, billionaire, I'm surprised he wouldn't, yeah,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I'm surprised he actually wouldn't get that done again. Maybe
- 12:58Speaker 1: he will after Bill. couple different places uh different shows
- 13:01Speaker 1: talking about it but yeah so i'm really surprised it
- 13:05Speaker 1: really is a sign of the times though they uh
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know get get these things uh something costs 20
- 13:11Speaker 1: million a beautiful big sign like that and they say
- 13:14Speaker 1: yeah we'll just put a regular billboard up there for
- 13:16Speaker 1: you know eight hundred thousand dollars or something like that
- 13:19Speaker 1: and i don't have the actual dollars and stuff of
- 13:21Speaker 1: it but i know phil ruffin wants to Probably wants
- 13:24Speaker 1: to sell there anyway. It was probably bought for an
- 13:26Speaker 1: investment to resell the place though. But the Neon Museum,
- 13:30Speaker 1: the Boneyard, they're thinking about retiring that sign too. And
- 13:34Speaker 1: I absolutely love the Neon Museum there. Actually, I've seen
- 13:39Speaker 1: you two make a video there. I thought it was
- 13:41Speaker 1: really cool with the old startup signs. And then I
- 13:44Speaker 1: see our buddy Nifty has been making some videos there.
- 13:48Speaker 1: And he's like, you've got to see this place. It's
- 13:49Speaker 1: pretty cool. It's small. It's down by Cashman Field, not
- 13:53Speaker 1: in the best area, but still, the neon, it's a
- 13:56Speaker 1: really good exhibit down there. It's pretty cool. So Neon
- 13:59Speaker 1: Boneyard is final home to 250 retired Las Vegas neon
- 14:04Speaker 1: signs that just cannot be maintained in their place, whether
- 14:08Speaker 1: the place got torn down or too expensive to do.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I thought that was a pretty good interesting thing to do.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Also things to do, the production shows, they are going
- 14:18Speaker 1: by the wayside here. They just closed another one of
- 14:20Speaker 1: the Cirque's. shows I've seen. I think it was called
- 14:23Speaker 1: Mad Apple, I think it was called. But yeah, so
- 14:26Speaker 1: I know Awakenings at the Wind is closed. Of course,
- 14:29Speaker 1: we know Love is closed. I used to love Love.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That was a great Beatles show and it was a
- 14:34Speaker 1: great Cirque show. So now you only have a couple
- 14:36Speaker 1: more shows to see there. I have at Treasure Island, Mystere,
- 14:41Speaker 1: which I think is great. If you haven't seen Mystere,
- 14:44Speaker 1: make it a point to see before something happens to
- 14:46Speaker 1: that show too. Really cool what they do there. One
- 14:50Speaker 1: of my favorite shows of all times I've seen it
- 14:53Speaker 1: a lot. Over a dozen times I've seen Mystere. But yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: this talks about, this article talks about, let's see who
- 14:59Speaker 1: wrote the article. Corey Levitan wrote an article on Casino.org
- 15:03Speaker 1: about the production markets and how they have changed every
- 15:06Speaker 1: year and shuttered since 2016 dozens of them. And the
- 15:11Speaker 1: new type of shows, maybe even the Baby Boomers shows
- 15:14Speaker 1: are being replaced by younger generation shows that aren't really
- 15:18Speaker 1: drawn to traditional theater and And that kind of thing.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They're more like top-tier star power kind of shows. The Sphere,
- 15:26Speaker 1: which I like The Sphere, too. I've seen The Eagles,
- 15:29Speaker 1: Wizard of Oz, multiple other entertainments in there. I've seen
- 15:32Speaker 1: there was a Grateful Dead show. I only went because
- 15:36Speaker 1: one of my buddies wanted to go. I'm sorry to say.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I think the gentleman died, Bob Weir, which is one
- 15:41Speaker 1: of the original Grateful Dead guys. But I just wasn't
- 15:44Speaker 1: a Dead guy. I wasn't really into Dead music. But
- 15:46Speaker 1: it was nice. It was a great time. And there's
- 15:48Speaker 1: going to be some unbelievable other shows that are coming there.
- 15:51Speaker 1: We're hearing that Rush is going to be coming there.
- 15:53Speaker 1: We know Metallica is going to be coming there. So
- 15:57Speaker 1: I think that's what it is, is that these big
- 15:59Speaker 1: type of shows like that and these big names coming there.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You have Allegiant Stadium now. They're drawing giant, giant shows
- 16:06Speaker 1: like the Taylor Swift kind of shows and ACDC, and
- 16:09Speaker 1: all the giant, giant groups over there. So it is
- 16:13Speaker 1: interesting how these production shows are going away, going away.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Real quick, guys, let's talk about our WagerWire segment. It's
- 16:23Speaker 1: a three-legger, 25 to win $ 1, 800, $ 1, 829 to be exact.
- 16:24Speaker 1: And the current bet value is $ 184. The cash-out value
- 16:26Speaker 1: from the sportsbook, $ 127, of course, on WagerWire, 184 is
- 16:39Speaker 1: the bet value. Now, this gentleman who bet this three-teamer,
- 16:42Speaker 1: this $ 25, he had the draw money line on Spain
- 16:46Speaker 1: versus Argentina. He won that. It was a 2-1 bet.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Now he has Boston Red Sox to make the playoffs,
- 16:51Speaker 1: which are a much bigger favorite now, of course. So
- 16:54Speaker 1: they're going to make the playoffs. And then the Buffalo,
- 16:57Speaker 1: this all comes down to the Buffalo Bills to win
- 17:00Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Well, I want to tell you. He
- 17:03Speaker 1: took 11-1, and it's actually less than that now. So
- 17:06Speaker 1: I guess that's why this is enhanced at this price.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I don't know if Buffalo has it. I know they won,
- 17:13Speaker 1: but I don't know if they have it to win.
- 17:16Speaker 1: It's only one game, too, by the way. Houston was
- 17:17Speaker 1: in that game right until the very end. But I
- 17:20Speaker 1: don't know if they have it to win the Super Bowl.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I would wait a few weeks if I was this
- 17:23Speaker 1: person that has this ticket up on the WagerWire.com and
- 17:26Speaker 1: the WagerWire app. Let's wait. Boston's going to get in.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Wait for that to happen. See what it's worth with
- 17:31Speaker 1: that little bit of an enhancement. And then see what
- 17:33Speaker 1: happens these next few weeks with Buffalo. I think that's
- 17:37Speaker 1: important to see what happens. Give it a few weeks. Now,
- 17:41Speaker 1: let me be blunt. Big game this weekend. Buffalo, about
- 17:44Speaker 1: a five-point favorite. It's Thursday night. So, tomorrow night, you
- 17:48Speaker 1: guys over Detroit. Detroit looked very bad, even though they
- 17:52Speaker 1: won versus the Saints. I think the Saints were a
- 17:54Speaker 1: little bit improved. Randy told us that last week when
- 17:56Speaker 1: he picked the Saints plus the points. And they actually
- 18:00Speaker 1: could have won the game, too, there. Two-point conversion win.
- 18:03Speaker 1: they would have won the game. That would have been over.
- 18:04Speaker 1: So I would wait, just wait another week or two,
- 18:08Speaker 1: see what happens. Then let's look back at this ticket
- 18:10Speaker 1: maybe to see what it's worth then if they do
- 18:13Speaker 1: prevail this weekend. If they don't prevail, it might even,
- 18:15Speaker 1: you know, if they lose outright, this value is going
- 18:19Speaker 1: to go down. So wagerwire.com, the WagerWire app. Before we
- 18:23Speaker 1: bring Randy on for a couple of his new things
- 18:26Speaker 1: he has here, I want to talk about a couple things.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Let's talk about, everyone's talking about the Sydney Sweeney. I
- 18:32Speaker 1: really didn't, I only knew her from a Rolling Stones video,
- 18:35Speaker 1: but I know she's an actress now, and she, I just,
- 18:38Speaker 1: it's hard for me to watch any new things, so,
- 18:40Speaker 1: but I do know who she is, and of course,
- 18:41Speaker 1: how can you miss that ad? She's naked in a video,
- 18:45Speaker 1: in this, these videos that she was up for, I'm
- 18:50Speaker 1: trying to think of the company, it was Novig, I think. Anyway,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I think it was, yeah, Novig. So Novig, she was
- 18:56Speaker 1: sitting on top of a rim, naked, with a ball,
- 19:00Speaker 1: twirling a ball or her hair over her breast, naked,
- 19:03Speaker 1: totally naked on top of the rim, though. And I
- 19:06Speaker 1: was reading about how this was made. This ain't AI.
- 19:09Speaker 1: It's the real deal. And some girls are coming after her.
- 19:12Speaker 1: This was an article I read. Some of the girls,
- 19:15Speaker 1: the other gymnasts and things coming after her. But Jacob Fortinsky,
- 19:20Speaker 1: the Novig CEO, has since defended the ad, revealing how
- 19:23Speaker 1: much Sweeney was involved in the direction of the ad.
- 19:27Speaker 1: And it's, you know, I get it, though. Like, if
- 19:30Speaker 1: you're driving in Manhattan and, you know, you're seeing Sidney
- 19:34Speaker 1: Sweeney on the net. I mean, listen, the kids can
- 19:37Speaker 1: see worse on the Internet. But, you know, you're driving
- 19:41Speaker 1: and you might cause yourself a car accident. Seeing a
- 19:44Speaker 1: girl sitting on top of a, oh, wow, I didn't
- 19:47Speaker 1: even see the one with just the tennis racquet. behind her.
- 19:50Speaker 1: So I kind of get both ways here, but I
- 19:53Speaker 1: don't think she did anything that's out of line compared
- 19:56Speaker 1: to any other ad with a beautiful young lady on
- 20:00Speaker 1: the ads here. So last thing I have for you.
- 20:05Speaker 1: We talked about that robbery of the poker player. And
- 20:09Speaker 1: the suspects, they released the photos of the suspects this week.
- 20:15Speaker 1: So for anyone that was questioning if it's real or not,
- 20:18Speaker 1: unless it's really staged with those guys involved, their photos
- 20:21Speaker 1: are now on the Internet. They're looking for the suspects
- 20:24Speaker 1: who supposedly robbed this poker player. And that came out.
- 20:29Speaker 1: So that's one of the things that... that I've seen
- 20:32Speaker 1: come out in the news this week. All right, let's
- 20:34Speaker 1: bring Randy on. I like the hat. Real good, real good.
- 20:37Speaker 1: So last week, I even put up your tweet. I
- 20:40Speaker 1: put up a tweet, I mean, with your Saints pick.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Very good. The Carolina pick was your, I think it
- 20:47Speaker 1: was your only loss for the week, though. Unfortunately. You
- 20:52Speaker 1: won San Fran.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Couldn't get out the broom like you like. Yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 1: What happened in the Carolina game? You were saying that
- 20:58Speaker 1: you thought Chicago wasn't as good as they are or
- 21:03Speaker 1: thought they were going to be, and they actually came
- 21:05Speaker 1: out pretty strong, or did Carolina come out pretty weak?
- 21:08Speaker 1: I was running around betting props for the second set
- 21:10Speaker 1: of games, so I did not get to see that one.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, both teams have very bad defenses, so I knew
- 21:17Speaker 2: it was going to be a shootout-type game. And I
- 21:20Speaker 2: was hoping that Carolina would have a little bit more
- 21:22Speaker 2: defense than Chicago did. And it didn't turn out that way.
- 21:25Speaker 2: And we, you know, we were getting three and a half.
- 21:28Speaker 2: We score what? 37 points and still lose somehow.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Wow. That's amazing. Thinking of it like that. Holy shit. Okay. Okay. Let's,
- 21:39Speaker 1: let's look at this. So now let's, let's see what
- 21:41Speaker 1: you got this week. You had a nice, nice start
- 21:43Speaker 1: there to week one in the NFL. What are you
- 21:45Speaker 1: looking at this week?
- 21:47Speaker 2: You want to start with college or pro?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Sure. Go ahead. Start with college. I got their lines, too.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I got some of them anyway. But, yeah, start with college.
- 21:55Speaker 1: What do you got?
- 21:56Speaker 2: No major college picks because I don't handicap that myself,
- 22:00Speaker 2: so I don't want to give out those picks. Yeah.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 22:03Speaker 2: But I have two FCS versus FBS teams.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Oh, let's go on that. Let me pull up those lines. Guys,
- 22:10Speaker 1: keep talking. You can't see me for a second. I'm
- 22:12Speaker 1: just going to look up the college lines.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Go ahead. That won't be the six digit category. Unfortunately,
- 22:17Speaker 2: the sportsbooks are still too scared. All this time, 20
- 22:21Speaker 2: plus years of me trying to get these games on
- 22:23Speaker 2: the board, they're still, you know, have low limits and
- 22:28Speaker 2: don't give you a good whack at these games. I
- 22:30Speaker 2: wish they would. Some have responded. Some haven't, unfortunately. The
- 22:36Speaker 2: first one, we got North Dakota, my home team. I
- 22:38Speaker 2: might sound like a homer here getting 24 and a
- 22:41Speaker 2: half against Nebraska. but I have good reasons here in
- 22:45Speaker 2: North Dakota. It pretty much has their whole same team
- 22:47Speaker 2: back from last year. And they played Kansas state, which
- 22:52Speaker 2: is a similar team to Nebraska, probably even better in
- 22:56Speaker 2: the same spot last year and lost to them in overtime. So, uh,
- 23:00Speaker 2: I'm expecting that kind of game.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I'm seeing only 20. I'm seeing 24 and a half.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they'll hang in there. I think it'll
- 23:09Speaker 2: be a good close game there. Of course, uh, Nebraska
- 23:13Speaker 2: fans are still delusional that they think they still have
- 23:16Speaker 2: a good football team after 20-plus years of fertility, but
- 23:21Speaker 2: maybe they'll be good again in the future. I do
- 23:23Speaker 2: like Matt Rule as a coach, but I see this
- 23:26Speaker 2: being a close game.
- 23:28Speaker 1: All right. That's your first pick, plus 24.5. What's next?
- 23:32Speaker 2: The Montana Grizzlies. Beautiful state of Montana where our friend
- 23:36Speaker 2: Brett Musburger is from. He loves this school. Yes. I'm
- 23:40Speaker 2: going to take them plus 17.5 at Corvallis, Oregon, against
- 23:44Speaker 2: Oregon State. Oregon State is a team that's improved this
- 23:48Speaker 2: year a little bit more than I thought and has
- 23:51Speaker 2: been playing pretty well, even though they lost a couple games.
- 23:55Speaker 2: But Montana Grizzlies are number two, number three ranked. I
- 23:58Speaker 2: got them number three in the FCS, but they returned
- 24:01Speaker 2: their quarterback, and they do have pretty good offense here.
- 24:05Speaker 2: And I think this number, as well as too big,
- 24:08Speaker 2: I expect a lot closer game and maybe the Grizzlies
- 24:13Speaker 2: can pull out the victory here. But, you know, going
- 24:16Speaker 2: into Corvallis here is always a tough travel spot. But
- 24:19Speaker 2: the Montana Grizzlies.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I'm looking for that line, Randy. Is that on Saturday night? Oh,
- 24:27Speaker 1: for Oregon State.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I see it.
- 24:29Speaker 1: 17 and a half at Hard Rock. 17 and a
- 24:32Speaker 1: half everywhere. Rivers has 18. These solids, 17 and a half.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Everywhere.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Okay, good. That's your second play. All right. Good deal.
- 24:40Speaker 2: And like I said before with these games, you'll have
- 24:43Speaker 2: a lot more offerings on Saturday morning to bet these
- 24:46Speaker 2: games and probably get a better number than that's currently located.
- 24:51Speaker 2: So I would wait until the Saturday morning lines all
- 24:56Speaker 2: come out with all the sports books.
- 24:58Speaker 1: All right. What do you got in the NFL?
- 25:01Speaker 2: All right. I took a little piece. I don't do
- 25:02Speaker 2: this very often, but this is just such. Such a
- 25:06Speaker 2: bad spot here for the Detroit Lions coming off an
- 25:10Speaker 2: overtime win that I took a little slice of the
- 25:14Speaker 2: money line, minus $ 2. I normally don't give out a
- 25:18Speaker 2: pick like this. Never, never. Not my forte here, but
- 25:25Speaker 2: I got good reasons here. You know, since 2020 or 2000s,
- 25:27Speaker 2: I guess this last year, Let's look at.
- 25:33Speaker 1: The money line. I'm going to look at the money line.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I laid $ 2, so I maybe got the best of it,
- 25:39Speaker 2: but we do have guys that do bet some parlays
- 25:43Speaker 2: that might want to add the filler with this game.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Please don't bet parlays. Minus $ 2. 20, I'm looking almost about
- 25:52Speaker 1: almost everywhere. Minus $ 2. 20. Circa right here, minus $ 2. 20. So
- 25:56Speaker 1: we'll go by that line. So we have a tomorrow
- 26:03Speaker 1: night's game. You're involved on the money line. All right.
- 26:06Speaker 1: What's next?
- 26:06Speaker 2: And I have good reasons here.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Why?
- 26:08Speaker 2: Because since 2000 or since the year 2000, this spot
- 26:13Speaker 2: here is 25 and five straight up. You know, the
- 26:17Speaker 2: team coming off an overtime, barely overtime, squeaking out the wind,
- 26:21Speaker 2: going on the road, short week, very tough travel spot.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Also new stadium here for Buffalo. First game in their
- 26:29Speaker 2: beautiful new stadium. And I believe the Bills have a
- 26:32Speaker 2: slightly better, I say this extremely, slightly better defense than Detroit.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Both these teams are lacking on defense, and that's why
- 26:42Speaker 2: that total is so high. You know, our games we
- 26:47Speaker 2: don't like, shootout football is going to happen here on
- 26:50Speaker 2: the fast track. So I see the Bills, you know,
- 26:53Speaker 2: probably comfortably winning this game, but a little scared of
- 26:57Speaker 2: maybe a backdoor cover or something. So. Suggest the money
- 27:00Speaker 2: line more so than the spread.
- 27:02Speaker 1: All right, what's next?
- 27:05Speaker 2: All right, we're going to go to Houston. I got
- 27:09Speaker 2: minus two and a half here with the cheap line
- 27:12Speaker 2: versus Cincinnati Bengal team.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Right here you can get two and a half.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Cincinnati Bengals had a strong week one, but Tampa
- 27:21Speaker 2: Bay pretty much gift-wrapped that game with them with turnovers,
- 27:25Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield fumbling the ball all over the place. All right.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Houston's defense is going to be, you know, chomping at
- 27:35Speaker 2: the bit here to have a lot better game than
- 27:37Speaker 2: they had against Buffalo, which, you know, that cost them
- 27:41Speaker 2: the game. You know, their defensive line didn't perform as
- 27:44Speaker 2: well against that. You know, I like to go against
- 27:47Speaker 2: bad offensive lines that don't travel very well in Cincinnati's
- 27:51Speaker 2: offensive line, you know, probably improving this year, but. I
- 27:56Speaker 2: can see the Houston defense having a strong advantage here
- 28:00Speaker 2: against Cincinnati and winning by three or more. So Houston
- 28:05Speaker 2: Texans minus two and a half.
- 28:08Speaker 1: All right. Anything else to bury everybody with? Oh, yeah.
- 28:11Speaker 2: I got two more picks to bury.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Let's go find them.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Maybe we can get out the brew too. You love
- 28:17Speaker 2: that brew.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Love it.
- 28:20Speaker 2: So we're going to stick with the Saints here getting
- 28:23Speaker 2: eight and a half. Saints. against this pesky road team.
- 28:27Speaker 2: You know, you had a pesky road team, the Saints,
- 28:30Speaker 2: you know, even though they're coming off the overtime loss,
- 28:32Speaker 2: which in the long run, I think the coach should
- 28:35Speaker 2: have probably played for the tie, but you're in the
- 28:37Speaker 2: heat of the moment there. He went for the win
- 28:39Speaker 2: and didn't get it, unfortunately.
- 28:41Speaker 1: That would have knocked a lot of people out of
- 28:43Speaker 1: these pools. Well, they still had another minute and change, though,
- 28:46Speaker 1: to go down the field. So, yeah, by the way,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you can get plus nine minus 05. Plus nine minus 115, sorry.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Baltimore's got some injuries here on the offense. A
- 28:58Speaker 2: couple wide receivers probably won't play here. So the Saints
- 29:03Speaker 2: defense is going to have to, like they did last week,
- 29:05Speaker 2: they contained Gibbs. They didn't really stop him. But they
- 29:09Speaker 2: have to contain Henry and Jackson with this powerful run
- 29:13Speaker 2: game the Ravens have. And we're seeing some improvement out
- 29:17Speaker 2: of this young team. You know, they look good after
- 29:20Speaker 2: they got down 21 points. It didn't look good for
- 29:22Speaker 2: us at all. the way they were playing for about
- 29:25Speaker 2: the first three quarters of the game. Then all of
- 29:27Speaker 2: a sudden they turned it on. And unfortunately for the Saints,
- 29:32Speaker 2: haven't gotten off to good starts in games under Moore,
- 29:35Speaker 2: under their young coach Moore so far. So hopefully they
- 29:38Speaker 2: can change that around a little bit little bit, get
- 29:40Speaker 2: a lead against this Raven team and force them into passing,
- 29:43Speaker 2: get away from that running game. But I think getting
- 29:47Speaker 2: this big cushion here with a decent team, while I
- 29:50Speaker 2: still like to win the division, even though they'll probably
- 29:53Speaker 2: be 0-2, there might be some good future value here
- 29:56Speaker 2: after this game. But I think they hold on and
- 29:58Speaker 2: at least cover here. And they're going to be pesky
- 30:02Speaker 2: here against this Baltimore Blackbird team. So give me New
- 30:05Speaker 2: Orleans plus points.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Oh, okay. All right. The Saints. Someone just texted me, Randy,
- 30:13Speaker 1: that the gambling appeal passed. Now it goes to full
- 30:17Speaker 1: house now. So the appealing this ridiculous 90% tax thing.
- 30:23Speaker 1: So now it's going to go to the house. Someone
- 30:25Speaker 1: just texted me that just now.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yeah, Derek. Derek was on VEASAN yesterday. I think I
- 30:31Speaker 2: heard an interview with him. And the senator from Nevada
- 30:36Speaker 2: actually was in the circa there and filming, came back
- 30:39Speaker 2: for a day just to film stuff about that bill
- 30:42Speaker 2: to make a commercial. So hopefully that gets changed for us.
- 30:47Speaker 2: And that's very good news. And, you know, also we got,
- 30:50Speaker 2: you know, we got bumped up to $ 2, 000. It should
- 30:52Speaker 2: be $ 2, 001 for a taxable.
- 30:55Speaker 1: It should be $ 2, 001. They were stupid.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Exactly right. At $ 2, 000, I get a couple $ 2, 000 jackpots
- 31:02Speaker 2: every once in a while. It still kind of irks me,
- 31:04Speaker 2: but it should actually be $ 5, 001, but hopefully that gets
- 31:08Speaker 2: changed in the future.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, let's go on to your fourth one.
- 31:13Speaker 2: All right, we're going to take a team that cost
- 31:15Speaker 2: us on teasers last week and had a very poor
- 31:19Speaker 2: Monday night outing, which I didn't think they could lose
- 31:23Speaker 2: that badly, but they did.
- 31:25Speaker 1: They lost bad.
- 31:26Speaker 2: They did not show up in that game on Monday
- 31:28Speaker 2: night football and the Kansas city chiefs ran right over them.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Jacksonville is not this type of team. So I'm going
- 31:36Speaker 2: to lay the cheap two and a half here. This
- 31:39Speaker 2: line week 14 last year was three and a half.
- 31:42Speaker 2: So only having to lay two and a half here
- 31:44Speaker 2: seems like a little bit of value as well. And
- 31:48Speaker 2: you know, bounce back after the stinker Jacksonville is not
- 31:51Speaker 2: a team that can hurt you on the ground. They
- 31:53Speaker 2: hurt you more by the air. You know, they, They
- 31:55Speaker 2: took apart that Cleveland rec team, and I think a
- 31:59Speaker 2: lot of teams will be doing that this year against
- 32:02Speaker 2: the Cleveland Browns, but we'll be seeing that a lot.
- 32:04Speaker 2: But I don't think Jacksonville can expose the Denver defense,
- 32:09Speaker 2: and I expect a rebound effort here. Also, my Ohio
- 32:14Speaker 2: magic I got to bring up here. Denver, when teams
- 32:17Speaker 2: travel to them early in the season, very tough place
- 32:21Speaker 2: to play with the elevation there. and they usually take
- 32:24Speaker 2: over those second halves. So I can see Denver pulling
- 32:28Speaker 2: away here, easily covering for us in a bounce-back spot.
- 32:32Speaker 2: You know, week two is overreaction week, and this is
- 32:36Speaker 2: definitely a game where we're seeing some overreaction. So I
- 32:40Speaker 2: like Denver here laying the cheap two and a half.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Yeah, our buddy Fezzik likes Denver too, I believe. He
- 32:45Speaker 1: told me Denver minus the two and a half.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Well, that scares me a little bit, but hopefully we
- 32:52Speaker 2: can get over his jigs.
- 32:54Speaker 1: But yeah, so I see minus two and a half
- 33:01Speaker 1: at the South point. They don't, they don't go off the,
- 33:04Speaker 1: off of the juice minus two and a half minus 20,
- 33:06Speaker 1: a lot of spots with South point minus two and
- 33:08Speaker 1: a half minus 10 minus two and a half minus
- 33:10Speaker 1: 12 at some of the places back East, some of
- 33:12Speaker 1: the legal sports books. So there are good ready. We've
- 33:14Speaker 1: got some picks from you. Hopefully have another good week.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Everyone will be happy with three and a one, three
- 33:19Speaker 1: and one again. It'll be great. So we'll, we'll talk
- 33:22Speaker 1: to you next week on Wisecracks. Thanks, Randy.
- 33:24Speaker 2: All right. Good luck, everybody out there. Have an awesome
- 33:27Speaker 2: weekend and enjoy the football slate. Should be a good one.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Thank you, everyone, for liking, subscribing, following and your nice comments.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Take care.
