- 0:00Minutes ago was so inspiring and just encouraging, and tonight I just wanted to
- 0:06come on and just to encourage somebody. I hope you guys can hear me.
- 0:13I don't know what is going on with this technology, but I know
- 0:18it's storming in some places, so that may be some issues. I don't
- 0:24know, But nevertheless, I pray that everyone is doing well. I pray
- 0:30that your day has been blessed. I just really just wanted to share for
- 0:34a minute or two. I'm not gonna be on here long again. I'm
- 0:38just taking up some space because we have some open space and if you're out
- 0:42there and you want to be a part of our podcast family, we do
- 0:50have a space for about five individuals. We have five slots that are open
- 0:56and tonight I am actually feeling in on one of those slots. So if
- 1:00you would like to be right here, right now, in this space,
- 1:03it is available. So if you have an idea for a show and you
- 1:10want to be on, please reach out to myself or Tamela. And we
- 1:15don't get you right, we get you right, We'll get you hooked up.
- 1:19I'll tell you. The young lady asks me, She say, is
- 1:25your work passion or is it just something that you do, y'all? This
- 1:30is my passion. This is what I live for. I wake up in
- 1:34the morning trying to find ways that I can pour into somebody, ways that
- 1:40I can bring somebody together, ways that I can, you know, get
- 1:45people to understand that they got purpose, that there's a reason why they're here.
- 1:49It's not by coincidence, it's not by happenstance. It's not an accident
- 1:53that they're here. But there's a reason why you are here. And I'm
- 1:59I'm just I'm thrilled. God is definitely moving. He's opening doors for so
- 2:06many people that in my circle. And I'm just I'm just happy about that.
- 2:10So the question she asked me, this question, she said, what
- 2:15advice would you give to black women in twenty twenty three who work in a
- 2:20similar setting? Ask me? So, I I told her. And and
- 2:30this is for anybody, not just people that want that that work in this
- 2:35setting, and not just life coaches, not just authors, not just people
- 2:38that do podcasting, but for anybody. Love. You find out what what
- 2:46thing makes you happy, what thing makes you get up in the morning,
- 2:51and that you are passionate about and when you're passionate about something, then that's
- 2:59when you can be intend in them. Because I've noticed that, you know
- 3:01a lot of us, we'll go through the motions and we'll do a lot
- 3:07of stuff because that's what other people are doing, or that's what's hot right
- 3:12now, or that's the trend right now. But when it's over or you
- 3:17still gonna be able to do that, Like it was a thing for people
- 3:24just just just writing books and holding events and and saying that they are a
- 3:30life coach, you know. And now a lot of people don't move down
- 3:35from that. A lot of people not, No, this is my passion,
- 3:38this, this is this is what I do, and this is what
- 3:40I'm gonna do untide I close my eyes. I I just I'm thinking of
- 3:47ways that I can innovate the things that I'm already doing. That's why I'm
- 3:53so thankful for this class that I'm in right now, because I am developing
- 3:59something that's gonna be so amazing that's gonna be able to not just help me,
- 4:03but it's gonna be able to help so many other people that are connected
- 4:06to not just this platform, but all of the platforms that I'm a part
- 4:11of. Because if you are a life coach, if you are an event
- 4:16planner, if you are a podcaster, if you are an author. It's
- 4:20gonna be something that's gonna be able to help all of those in that arena.
- 4:26And I'm excited about it. I'm man, this class is like,
- 4:30I'm so glad that I stepped out on faith and believe that that God spoke
- 4:38to my spirit and went back to school. Y'all. I I I question
- 4:46myself. I second doubt it myself. I said, I'm too old to
- 4:48do this. I'm I don't want I thirty years later, why are you
- 4:53going back to school? Y'all? Thirty years from the day that I graduate,
- 4:59I be getting my bachelor's and business administration and I'll be walking with honors
- 5:08in less than a month. I am so excited about that. And I
- 5:11think back to, you know, starting this journey. I started this journey.
- 5:17I started in Greenville, South Carolina, and North Greenville College Junior College.
- 5:24I went from one year because I got a scholarship. I ended up
- 5:28there. I hated that school. I ended up leaving. I did not
- 5:31know what I was going to do, y'all. I came to Atlanta,
- 5:38and I remember calling around to schools, trying to figure out if I could
- 5:46get on somebody's basketball team, if I could just try out, if I
- 5:49could just get my foot in the door. And coach Steve Daniels at Morris
- 5:56Brown College gave me an opportunity to walk on and to be a basketball player.
- 6:02He said, well, I won't be able to put you on campus
- 6:08the first semester, he said, But I can pay for your school,
- 6:12he said, but you will have to live off campus. So I did
- 6:15it. Just that I lived off campus. I enrolled. I went to
- 6:21Morris Brown for about three years, and it just seemed like things just started
- 6:26getting rough for me, and I decided that I was gonna take a year
- 6:30off. But y'all, that year turned into two years, turned into five
- 6:35years, turned into ten years, turned into twenty years, and here thirty
- 6:41years later, y'all, I'm getting ready to walk across the stage. None
- 6:45at Morris Brown, but I'm getting ready to walk across the stage Australia University
- 6:48in Atlanta, Georgia, on September the sixteenth, at ten am. I
- 6:54am so excited about that, and I just wanted to encourage somebody on today.
- 7:00I don't care how old you are. I don't care what may have
- 7:03happened in your life. It is never too late to pursue that thing that
- 7:10you are passionate about. That that thing that you are passionate about. Because
- 7:15one thing that I've learned on this journey that everybody's gonna give their input.
- 7:20Everybody's gonna say what they what you should do, and what you shouldn't do.
- 7:26But at the end of the day, you have to be the best
- 7:29version of yourself that you can be. Can't worry worry about what the next
- 7:35person is doing and how you're you're you're sizing up with that person, or
- 7:42how you're measuring up to that person, because y'all, we're all we all
- 7:46have different DNA, we all come from different backgrounds. I don't care if
- 7:49we do got the same mom and dad, We're gonna be different because we
- 7:55are different people. So you have to be the best ask version of yourself
- 8:01that you can be the best version of yourself, and that is doing the
- 8:07things that you're passionate about. Forget what other people think, because it does
- 8:13not matter what they think. She asked me another question. She said,
- 8:20if I had the opportunity two do something other than what I'm doing. What
- 8:28would I do? Yeah, I wouldn't. Like I wouldn't trade what I
- 8:33do for the world unless I could. Just if I could, just if
- 8:37I could just travel the world and not have to worry about nothing, then
- 8:39that I would do that. But if if if I couldn't do that and
- 8:45get paid for it, then I don't want to do it. I want
- 8:48to stay doing what I'm doing because I feel like I'm able to touch lives
- 8:54and impact lives, and I can be an example for somebody because a lot
- 9:03of us we we act you know who who who did we have as role
- 9:09models? I didn't what I'm doing now. I didn't there was nobody doing
- 9:15what I'm doing in my area, in my community. I didn't know no
- 9:18authors in in Anderson, South Carolina. I didn't know my podcasters in Anderson,
- 9:22South Carolina. I didn't know no magazine owners in Anderson, South Carolina.
- 9:28But of course now we've branched out and we've started tapping into our creativeness.
- 9:33So there are a lot of people, you know, coming forth with
- 9:37a lot of different things. But before it was like we was just so
- 9:41closed up in a box and we did not realize that this world is so
- 9:46big and there's so much that we could be doing out here, but a
- 9:52lot of us we grow up in these small places. We we we we
- 9:54get that that small town mentality inside out of us. When people tell you,
- 10:01oh, go get you a good job at that meal, get you
- 10:05a house, get you a car. That's what we do. And we'd
- 10:09be started working them jobs for twenty thirty forty years, going to work Monday
- 10:16through Friday, Saturdays and Sundays. Saturdays, were too tired to do anything
- 10:20because we don't work all week. Sundays, of course, we going to
- 10:24church or those that may not go may go to church on Saturdays, however,
- 10:28but we're really not doing anything and it's just a routine, I say.
- 10:33But yet we are for feeling somebody else's dream, because it was somebody's
- 10:39dream and somebody's vision that created these jobs. So if we can do it
- 10:46for somebody else, then why can't we do it but for ourselves? So,
- 10:54y'all, I've been thinking about that thing. I've been thinking about that
- 10:58thing, and I've been thinking about different things. Is that we that I
- 11:01could do to to innovate the things that I'm already doing and God has been
- 11:05downloading some things, so y'all about to see some things come up off the
- 11:09pressing in a little while. But I've been over here and overload again.
- 11:15I have to give a shout out to doctor Kuna of California for allowing me
- 11:20to be a part of amazing show. I cannot wait to see it.
- 11:24It is going to be a part of a Rooku series and I'm excited,
- 11:30excited to be able to share. You know, our motto here at the
- 11:35Crew podcast is we are the change that we desire to see it in this
- 11:39world, and in order to see change, we have to be that change.
- 11:45So y'all, I know I say I'm not gonna stay on here alone.
- 11:48Before I leave, I do want to put a plea out y'all working
- 11:52on a couple of projects. I am looking for some poets. If you
- 11:56are a poet and will like to be a part of an amazing anthology.
- 12:03Book one and two made number one new release, Book number two made number
- 12:09one, and Faith and Spirituality. So I'm excited about, you know,
- 12:15just being able able to allow other people to share their voice, to to
- 12:20share their perspective of forgiveness, their perspective of Hope, and now we're on
- 12:26love. Finding Love is this last book to this three book series of Silently
- 12:35Hurting Inside Hurt No More. If you are a poet or aspiring to be
- 12:39a poet and would like to share two to three poems, I want you
- 12:45to connect with us and join this anithology. We still have space for twenty
- 12:52individuals to join us and allow their words to speak around the world. The
- 12:58fee is only thirty three dollars and thirty three cents. You get to put
- 13:01two to three points. You get to put your bio in there, how
- 13:05individuals can connect with you and what you're doing. We want people to see
- 13:09what you're doing, not just in being a part of this anithology, but
- 13:13being on your own brand. And that's the great thing about being a part
- 13:18of an anthology. You get to connect with those that are part of the
- 13:20anthology. So if you join us, you get to connect with thirty nine
- 13:26other individuals life individuals. Because guess what, we decided that we wanted to
- 13:31be the change. We wanted to be the voice for those that may be
- 13:35suffering with mental health issues. Because the Silently Hurting Inside series Hurt No More,
- 13:43it's based on bringing awareness to black mental health and wellness. We started
- 13:48with Finding Forgiveness, and then the second book was Finding Hope, and we're
- 13:54gonna end this series with Finding Love. So I encourage you guys, if
- 14:00you're out there and want to be a part, please come join us.
- 14:03Also, I am a nine year survivor of domestic violence shot point butt range
- 14:09with solidof shotgun. And every time I hear one of these stories where these
- 14:15young ladies have been murdered because of the mestic violence, it it hit home,
- 14:22y'all, because that could have been my faith. But because I survived
- 14:26my ordeal and I'm able to share my story, I'm able to tell how
- 14:31I survived. And I'm reaching out for to all those that may have been
- 14:37through domestic violence and may have not never had the opportunity to share your story.
- 14:43Join me inside of this anthology and and and this one. Y'all.
- 14:48I'm like, I'm not even concerned about the fees. I I just want
- 14:52if you're out there and you can't afford the thirty three dollars, please call
- 14:58me in box me. Let's let's talk about how we If we gotta pay
- 15:01three dollars for elevel weeks, then guess what we'll do that if if that's
- 15:09what it's gonna take for you to be a part of this anthology and allow
- 15:11your voice to speak so that somebody else don't have to go through what we
- 15:16endu it ye'all, that's what it's all about. How and to love yourself
- 15:26and then you can lead by an example. And that's what I'm doing.
- 15:31I'll tell you, when God drop these words and my spirit, y'all,
- 15:35he break them down to me and I get new life. I get new
- 15:41meaning from the things that He download into me. I'm excited about what God
- 15:48is doing, not just in my life, but in the lives of those
- 15:52that are connected to me and in my circle and those that are connected to
- 15:56those that are connected to the circle. God is yet moving, and some
- 16:03of us are sitting down on those gifts that He's given us. He's told
- 16:12us things that we're supposed to be doing. Yet we sit in silence and
- 16:19we hold these things in when they could be impacting lives. If he's called
- 16:25you to it, y'all, he's gonna see you through it. So be
- 16:27intentional about those things that he's called you to. I'm gonna get out of
- 16:33here if y'all can, y'all, I will be on tomorrow night over on
- 16:37the WB and then Walking in Purpose with Angelo on blog Talk Radio. If
- 16:42y'all can, I want y'all to call in and support me. I'm gonna
- 16:45have three amazing individuals on there. They're gonna be talking about their business because
- 16:49it is Black Business Awareness Month, and I'm gonna be helping celebrate Black Business
- 16:56Awareness Month by allowing them to share their brands and share what they're doing.
- 17:00If you have a business, y'all, call in, shout your business out.
- 17:04Look. We got twenty four million listeners tuning in too. I got
- 17:10to do this. Call in and press one five one six four or five
- 17:12three nine one three three, press one and say hey and shout your business
- 17:18out. I'm just just give give a plug. We have not because we
- 17:26ask not a lot of us sit down on those things that he's called us
- 17:30to. So some of us have opportunity to do great things, but yet
- 17:36we let fear sit in, and we let what other people doing sit in
- 17:41and push our stuff to sign. Don't do it, y'all, but I'm
- 17:49out of here. I want to thank you guys for supporting The Crew podcast.

- 18:04a we're on a road to a thousand. We need we need to gunner
- 18:08a thousand, a thousand followers so that we can access some more of those
- 18:17different features. Y'all know, Facebook and this meta they tripping with all these
- 18:22different little things. You got to go through different levels, and y'all,
- 18:26we were not at the level that we need to be it so that we
- 18:30can share the way that we need to share, so that we can really
- 18:36allow this podcast to be able to do what it's supposed to do and impact

- 19:11night. We're gonna have Lisa Hopkins triggered reactions conquered. She's gonna have an
- 19:19amazing guest on. I think he spent twenty years in prison and now he's
