- 0:23Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:26Speaker 1: with us inside the tree house. I'm Dan, O'Malley along
- 0:30Speaker 1: with Trey Trenholme inside the tree House today, Wednesday, March twelfth,
- 0:38Speaker 1: two thousand and five. Hello Tray, Hello Dan. I love
- 0:48Speaker 1: starting strong, so let's do that today, all right. A
- 0:54Speaker 1: car crashed into a poolhouse at an aquatic center in
- 0:57Speaker 1: upstate New York, leaving it part actually submerged in the water,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and since no one was seriously hurt, it gave the
- 1:07Speaker 1: Austening Police Department the opportunity to say, while we do
- 1:11Speaker 1: encourage car pooling, this is not what we had in mind.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Some pio waited their whole life just to write that.
- 1:22Speaker 1: One probably had that written down in a book somewhere,
- 1:31Speaker 1: just waiting for the day, and finally happened. Sorry to
- 1:35Speaker 1: get to use my line. The day's here.
- 1:42Speaker 2: You said I'd never have the chance.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Ah, I told you one day what happened, oh Man
- 1:55Speaker 1: in upstate New York, Briar cliff Manor Fortunately, no one
- 2:01Speaker 1: was seriously injured in an unlikely car crash in Westchester County,
- 2:05Speaker 1: allowing first responders to lighten the mood just a little.
- 2:09Speaker 1: The Awtening Police Department said in a statement, while we
- 2:13Speaker 1: do encourage car pooling, this is not what we had
- 2:16Speaker 1: in mind. According to the Briarcliff Manor Fired Apartment, on Friday,
- 2:23Speaker 1: around twelve to twenty in the afternoon, they responded to
- 2:26Speaker 1: a report they received about a car that had crashed
- 2:29Speaker 1: into the poolhouse at club Fit in Briarcliff, Manor. Once
- 2:34Speaker 1: on the scene, emergency responders found a car was driven
- 2:38Speaker 1: through the emergency exit door the poolhouse, coming to a
- 2:41Speaker 1: stop around ten feet into the closest pool section, partially
- 2:45Speaker 1: submerged in the water. Clubfit staff were able to get
- 2:50Speaker 1: the driver out of the car and there were no
- 2:52Speaker 1: series injuries reported for the driver or any club Fit patrons.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Just imagine doing some laps minding your own business, all
- 3:09Speaker 1: of a sudden, there's a card that pulled in the
- 3:13Speaker 1: lane next to you.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 3: That uh.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Might lead to a little PTSD about getting back in
- 3:24Speaker 2: the water.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It just might. On social media. Club Fit officials said
- 3:30Speaker 1: the club Fit briar Cliff Aquatic Center will be closed
- 3:34Speaker 1: until further notice. Briarcliff members are welcome to use our
- 3:40Speaker 1: Jefferson Valley location. Thank you for your understanding. We're so
- 3:44Speaker 1: incredibly grateful to say that no one was injured as
- 3:47Speaker 1: a result of this accident. I imagine those what are
- 3:51Speaker 1: the things called the concrete pillars that get set up
- 3:54Speaker 1: in front of storefronts.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I forget the name of them, but yeah, I know
- 4:00Speaker 2: what you're talking about.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They probably are gonna have to install a few of
- 4:03Speaker 1: those around all the club fit facilities in New York
- 4:08Speaker 1: so that way you don't get a a repeat occurrence
- 4:11Speaker 1: of someone driving into the poolhouse.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It seems like it would be money well spent.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Emergency personnel secured the scene while the car was removed
- 4:25Speaker 1: from the water. After an inspection by the Austining Building Department,
- 4:28Speaker 1: the structure was ultimately deemed safe. All the units were
- 4:32Speaker 1: cleared from the scene by two point fifteen pm. That's
- 4:35Speaker 1: pretty impressive. I mean, the incident occurred at twelve twenty
- 4:41Speaker 1: pm and the scene was cleared within two hours. That
- 4:46Speaker 1: is impressive.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That is impressive. I don't know. There's a lot going
- 4:51Speaker 2: on in that town.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Probably not other than one public information officer patiently waiting
- 4:57Speaker 1: for his chance to release that statement that he he's
- 5:00Speaker 1: had that he has had saved. You know, you know,
- 5:03Speaker 1: he had that saved somewhere on a file on a
- 5:06Speaker 1: flash drive or on his computer, just waiting for the
- 5:08Speaker 1: day that he gets to say.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Oh, he's probably He's probably over the years has been
- 5:15Speaker 2: wading news stories around and go, you know, reading what
- 5:18Speaker 2: other pios have written, and go, oh, no, you missed it.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You could have this is the line you could have used,
- 5:24Speaker 2: you all, you silly people. And then finally he gets
- 5:29Speaker 2: the chance and and you know what, honestly, there probably
- 5:31Speaker 2: was a tow truck driver. This was his big opportunity
- 5:34Speaker 2: for an underwhelm.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, an underwater extraction.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Uh huh yeah, yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure when you pull a car out of
- 5:43Speaker 1: a pool you get to charge at least double m hm.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Get get you in the tow Truck Hall of Fame.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I like to think that somewhere right now someone is laughing,
- 5:56Speaker 1: not just because of what you said being funny, but
- 5:59Speaker 1: they think that you're making up the tow Truck Hall
- 6:02Speaker 1: of Fame. One in fact, you are not. The tow
- 6:05Speaker 1: Truck Hall of Fame is a real place that exists
- 6:09Speaker 1: in real life, with actual tours and an actual hall
- 6:13Speaker 1: of fame.
- 6:14Speaker 2: It is.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Probably appropriate that the tow truck Hall of Fame would
- 6:21Speaker 1: be in the same state known for its bourbon production.
- 6:27Speaker 1: It's sort of like chocolate and peanut butter. The two
- 6:30Speaker 1: just seem to go together. The Tow Truck Hall of Fame,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I have not thought about that place in many years.
- 6:40Speaker 2: No, I had neither, But that was one of the
- 6:44Speaker 2: great one of the great stories of doing the UH
- 6:48Speaker 2: Police and Fire Parade. Yeah, a few tow truck drivers
- 6:54Speaker 2: wanted in as a first responders.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And they feel strongly about that, very strongly about it,
- 7:04Speaker 1: so strongly in fact, that they still have one of
- 7:07Speaker 1: my cars.
- 7:13Speaker 3: You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Let's get Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration into

- 7:32Speaker 1: The RMS Treehouse Listeners Foundation exists to help the families
- 7:36Speaker 1: of fallen DFW police officers and firefighters killed in the
- 7:40Speaker 1: line of duty, and we've been very fortunate over the
- 7:43Speaker 1: years to partner with some outstanding companies wanting to help,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and today we get to add cookdfw's name to that
- 7:50Speaker 1: list of excellent sponsors to the foundation because Daniel, you
- 7:53Speaker 1: and your wife Carrie have said, you know what, we
- 7:55Speaker 1: love our community and we want to do something to
- 7:57Speaker 1: give back to our first responders in DFA, Right, Dan.
- 8:01Speaker 5: That's absolutely correct, and you know, truth be known, Carrie
- 8:05Speaker 5: has given to the foundation for quite so many years.
- 8:08Speaker 5: But now at a company level, I think we are
- 8:11Speaker 5: wanting to definitely you know, beef that up and start
- 8:15Speaker 5: giving back to the foundation. And it's unfortunately, this is
- 8:18Speaker 5: a foundation nobody wants to have to donate to, but
- 8:21Speaker 5: it's the real world is that these things do happen,
- 8:24Speaker 5: and it's it's it's the type of foundation that you
- 8:27Speaker 5: don't want around, but you definitely want it to be,
- 8:30Speaker 5: you know, available to the families that need it. And
- 8:32Speaker 5: so over the next couple of months, you know, a
- 8:35Speaker 5: portion of all the proceeds from the work done from
- 8:38Speaker 5: Treehouse Listeners that call in and let us know that
- 8:41Speaker 5: they heard about you on the show, we're going to
- 8:43Speaker 5: be donating to the RMS Tree House Listeners Foundation and
- 8:46Speaker 5: making sure that we can keep that very stable in
- 8:51Speaker 5: the accounting side and and have funds available that when
- 8:54Speaker 5: the families need it.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's going to be there, So we're very.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Fortunate to be a part of the organization and we
- 9:01Speaker 5: look forward to try and assist and help it as
- 9:03Speaker 5: much as we can.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Not only a company that cares about you as a client,
- 9:06Speaker 1: but Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration also cares about its
- 9:09Speaker 1: first responders in our communities. So give them a call
- 9:12Speaker 1: for your roofing and restoration needs. Eight three to three
- 9:16Speaker 1: Cook DFW A three three Cook DFW. Make sure you

- 10:36Speaker 1: Malley along with Trey Trenholm. On Wednesday, March twelfth, two
- 10:40Speaker 1: thoy twenty five. We make fun of Florida a lot,
- 10:44Speaker 1: and it's justified, and we're going to do that again
- 10:47Speaker 1: here because a Florida woman was arrested for aggravated battery
- 10:52Speaker 1: with a pringles can. Wh Yeah, that it's taking it
- 11:01Speaker 1: to a whole new level. Do you have any inquisitive
- 11:06Speaker 1: look on your face?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Well, I'm trying, because there's two ways you could go
- 11:09Speaker 2: about it. You could, you know, beat someone with the
- 11:12Speaker 2: pringles can or you could get your hand stuck in
- 11:14Speaker 2: the pringles can and then start thrashing that way.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You're right, that's an interesting point. The pringles can can
- 11:22Speaker 1: be used as a weapon in more than one way.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And this is why we share stories like this inside
- 11:27Speaker 1: the Treehouse because we have different takes on them, different
- 11:30Speaker 1: ridiculous insights. For example, Trey, when he hears a Florida
- 11:35Speaker 1: woman used a Pringles can as a weapon, he wonders
- 11:37Speaker 1: was she holding the can using it as a weapon,
- 11:40Speaker 1: or did she insert her hand into the can to
- 11:43Speaker 1: then use it as sort of a gauntlet style weapon.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Me.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I was curious to know when she attacked a man
- 11:52Speaker 1: with a Pringles can did it have chips in it
- 11:55Speaker 1: or not? Because if it did, it makes it heavier
- 11:59Speaker 1: and therefore possibly more dangerous.
- 12:03Speaker 2: That's also true.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Yeah, hang, let me pull this up here. A twenty
- 12:12Speaker 1: eight year old woman in Florida named Shanika Serdal was
- 12:15Speaker 1: arrested after attacking a man at a seven eleven in
- 12:18Speaker 1: Orlando last week. The last say, Shanika walked up to
- 12:22Speaker 1: a male customer, called him a B word, and hit
- 12:27Speaker 1: him across the face with a Pringles can. They say
- 12:32Speaker 1: he suffered a significant cut on his right eyebrow and
- 12:36Speaker 1: under his eye, causing him to bleed. Oh that would
- 12:40Speaker 1: lead me to think, Trey, that the can of Pringles
- 12:44Speaker 1: was in fact loaded with chips to be able to
- 12:47Speaker 1: incurage such damage. I also like to think that, in
- 12:51Speaker 1: my mind, she hid him more than once, like maybe repeatedly,
- 12:56Speaker 1: a whole lot right in the head.
- 13:00Speaker 2: He can't have just one, they do say.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And I like to think that in the middle of
- 13:05Speaker 1: beating his ass at that seven eleven with a pringles can,
- 13:09Speaker 1: she had to stop, catch her breath and say, you know,
- 13:12Speaker 1: once you pop, you can't stop and beat him some more. Unfortunately,
- 13:21Speaker 1: the reality is, according to the police report, she only
- 13:25Speaker 1: swung and hit him once. Oh well, so after she
- 13:30Speaker 1: hit him once, she stopped ran away. Police found her
- 13:33Speaker 1: down the street and guess what she had with her
- 13:36Speaker 1: the weapon She still had the candid pringles. I hope
- 13:39Speaker 1: that she had popped and was actually eating them when
- 13:42Speaker 1: they found her. And make it even better if it
- 13:44Speaker 1: was one of the flavors like the sour cream and onions,
- 13:47Speaker 1: so that way it leaves the dust on your fingers. God,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I love pringles.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they are tasty, and it's true.
- 13:54Speaker 1: It really is one of the great slogans of all time,
- 13:56Speaker 1: because you really can't pop and stop.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Nope.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Shanika told police the victim had been rude to her.
- 14:05Speaker 1: The guy denies it, and employee says the man wasn't
- 14:08Speaker 1: doing anything wrong, but right before he was hit, he
- 14:10Speaker 1: was notifying them that there was a guy laying down
- 14:14Speaker 1: on the side of the building, so maybe that had
- 14:16Speaker 1: something to do with it. Maybe she knew the guy
- 14:17Speaker 1: in the side of the building didn't like it and
- 14:19Speaker 1: decided to show up and beat the dude with a
- 14:21Speaker 1: loaded Pringle's can.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe it was Florida and she just crazy.
- 14:31Speaker 1: See not all of the insights on this show are ridiculous.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes they really Sometimes they really hit the nail
- 14:42Speaker 1: on the head.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Sometimes you just you know, you just got to write
- 14:51Speaker 2: it off. It's Florida. They do that kind of crap.
- 14:56Speaker 1: To be fair, if you were to use any type
- 14:59Speaker 1: of chip holder as a weapon, it really would be
- 15:06Speaker 1: a pringlescan, wouldn't. I mean, there's like you're not going
- 15:08Speaker 1: to use a bag. That's I mean, it really like
- 15:10Speaker 1: a Pringle scan in a pinch might be a decent
- 15:14Speaker 1: weapon in a fight. Yeah, Esprestally, Like you said, Trey,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I really like the idea if if your arm in
- 15:21Speaker 1: your hand are small enough to use it as a
- 15:23Speaker 1: gauntlet and insert your hand into it and then use
- 15:26Speaker 1: that as a weapon.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Although you know, if you're in a convenience store, I
- 15:30Speaker 2: do feel like, you know, there were other options available
- 15:33Speaker 2: that probably would have been better, but again, it's Florida,
- 15:36Speaker 2: and you know, maybe she was hungry and so she
- 15:37Speaker 2: had to be efficient with her attack.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It does make sense. Not only do I want to
- 15:43Speaker 1: use this as a weapon, but I'm also hungry.
- 15:46Speaker 7: Yeah, you're listening to the Treehouse.

- 17:00Speaker 1: the Treehouse, because when you click on a microphone, you
- 17:01Speaker 1: can leave us a voicemail, just like a few people
- 17:04Speaker 1: have done that we are going to share with you
- 17:07Speaker 1: today Daniel Mally Trade Trenholm inside the Treehouse. And I've
- 17:12Speaker 1: been talking about this really since the Christmas holidays, that
- 17:16Speaker 1: we have this new feature on our website called Treehouse
- 17:19Speaker 1: Talkback microphone lower right hand corner on our website Treehouse
- 17:23Speaker 1: on Air dot com. You click on that, you can
- 17:25Speaker 1: leave us a voicemail and we get it, and when
- 17:27Speaker 1: we get it, and if it's good, we may use
- 17:30Speaker 1: it on the show like we're going to do right now.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And I promise that going forward, I will be better
- 17:37Speaker 1: about checking those messages, especially now that you're going to
- 17:40Speaker 1: hear some of the ones that have been left for
- 17:44Speaker 1: us here inside the Treehouse. This first one is from
- 17:48Speaker 1: Marshall from March fifth. Here we go. I just want
- 17:52Speaker 1: to let you guys know that y'all have a great
- 17:54Speaker 1: show and me and my daughter listen to it every
- 17:56Speaker 1: morning on the way when I'm taking her to drop
- 17:58Speaker 1: her off at schooling. She thoroughly enjoys show as well,
- 18:02Speaker 1: So thanks for making the car ride to drop her
- 18:05Speaker 1: off to school amazing every morning. Thank you Marshall.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Not to.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Look a gift horse in the mouth, But is is
- 18:19Speaker 1: daddy daughter time best spent by listening to this show?
- 18:22Speaker 1: I mean, how old is your daughter? I'm not sure
- 18:24Speaker 1: if some of the things we talk about in here
- 18:26Speaker 1: are necessarily appropriate for a school age child, but I
- 18:29Speaker 1: mean your daddy, so I guess you're the one that
- 18:32Speaker 1: knows best.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I do feel like if they're bonding over us, that
- 18:37Speaker 2: there is going to be some tumultuous years ahead.
- 18:42Speaker 1: There's going to be some blowback someday in the future.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Marshall's going to think I really should not have let
- 18:50Speaker 1: her listen to those idiots. On the flip side, there
- 18:56Speaker 1: might be a time in the future where they truly
- 18:59Speaker 1: do bond over this stupid little show and they find
- 19:02Speaker 1: some pure enjoyment together as father and daughter having listened
- 19:07Speaker 1: to the trio. So thank you Marshall. We appreciate that,
- 19:11Speaker 1: even though we do question it slightly. This one, this
- 19:18Speaker 1: one is pretty good too. This was just a couple
- 19:20Speaker 1: of days before Marshall. This was left by.
- 19:21Speaker 9: Af you guys, I have not last so hard as
- 19:29Speaker 9: I just did listening to Dan's Spanish Jim Adler. Oh
- 19:34Speaker 9: my god, keep up the good work.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Thanks, thank you, go so Jim Addler.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Gosius.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, we may we may have to have a little
- 19:53Speaker 1: more fun with Spanish Jim Adler in here.
- 19:55Speaker 2: That was.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think I think, you know what, I
- 20:01Speaker 1: like to think that regular Jim Adler probably has gone
- 20:04Speaker 1: on some adventures, but I think Spanish Jim Adler goes
- 20:07Speaker 1: on some really crazy adventures that we've never truly heard about.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That maybe we can tell some of those stories. I
- 20:20Speaker 1: mean allegedly, you know, representing someone who dove headfirst into
- 20:25Speaker 1: a ponchos and had part of their face melted off
- 20:27Speaker 1: by hot refried beans. I mean, that's just that could
- 20:30Speaker 1: be just the tip of the iceberg. So if you
- 20:35Speaker 1: too would like to leave us a message, you can
- 20:39Speaker 1: do that on our website, Treehouse on air dot com.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Click on the microphone lower right hand corner and leave
- 20:45Speaker 1: us a message and we may share it here on
- 20:47Speaker 1: the show. There is an older message here that I
- 20:51Speaker 1: want to share with you, Trey, not just because it's
- 20:54Speaker 1: a it's an important one, but also because it's insanely ridiculous,
- 20:59Speaker 1: and the reason why is because of my very poor
- 21:03Speaker 1: timing on this message, because today is March tenth, and
- 21:08Speaker 1: Jasmine left us a message all the way back on
- 21:10Speaker 1: January seventh that I that I just heard recently man
- 21:17Speaker 1: longtime listener, first time voice message leaver, thank you Jasmine.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I have a request.
- 21:27Speaker 9: My birthday is next Friday, January seventeenth.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Whoops. I'm just curious if maybe y'all could toss my
- 21:40Speaker 1: name on the Friday birthday list. That would mean Jasmine
- 21:48Speaker 1: Hawkins turning thirty.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Thanks guys.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I hesitate to say you're welcome, Jasmine, because I clearly
- 22:00Speaker 1: did not get the message in time to announce your
- 22:04Speaker 1: birthday on the birthday day of the show. So the
- 22:10Speaker 1: best I can do is to play your message in
- 22:13Speaker 1: its entirety like I've just done, and to do what
- 22:16Speaker 1: little I can to make up for it almost two
- 22:19Speaker 1: months later. Today is not for day January seventeenth, twenty
- 22:30Speaker 1: twenty five, but it was, and on that day, our
- 22:37Speaker 1: sweet listener Jasmine Hawkins turned thirty. So Jasmine, from all
- 22:42Speaker 1: of us inside the Treehouse, we wish you a happy
- 22:46Speaker 1: thirtieth birthday, almost two months late.
- 22:49Speaker 2: So sorry, We're sorry that Dan is so delinquent. The
- 22:57Speaker 2: rest of us we would have been timely.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Yeah. But but if it makes you feel just a
- 23:05Speaker 1: little bit better, what I've just given you, Jasmine is
- 23:09Speaker 1: still more of a gift than I have ever given
- 23:13Speaker 1: Trey oraj on their birthdays.
- 23:17Speaker 2: That is true.

- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm Daniel Malling along with Trade Trnholme. On Wednesday, March twelfth,
- 24:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. There is a controversy stirring in my
- 24:52Speaker 1: heart because the Hollywood Reporter made a list of the
- 24:57Speaker 1: ten best baseball movies. And I'm waiting for an umpire
- 25:02Speaker 1: to call for a bock because the list absolutely sucks.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I don't need to justify it very much at the moment.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm just going to tell you that this list sucks.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I'm going to share with you the Hollywood Reporter's top
- 25:16Speaker 1: ten baseball movies of all time, and I have a
- 25:19Speaker 1: strong feeling, tray that you are going to agree with
- 25:21Speaker 1: me on this list.
- 25:23Speaker 2: All right, Okay, so here we go.
- 25:25Speaker 1: According to the Hollywood Reporter, these are the top ten
- 25:28Speaker 1: baseball movies of all time. Number ten Boiling Point from
- 25:32Speaker 1: nineteen ninety. This is apparently a Japanese film. I have
- 25:36Speaker 1: not seen it. The only Japanese baseball film I have
- 25:39Speaker 1: ever seen was the one that starred Tom Sellick back
- 25:42Speaker 1: in Like eighty nine, which not a great baseball movie,
- 25:47Speaker 1: but I kind of liked it because I'm a huge
- 25:49Speaker 1: Tom Selleck fan. Number nine from nineteen forty two, The
- 25:54Speaker 1: Pride of the Yankees.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I don't lou Garrett.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I've even seen all of it. But because of the
- 26:03Speaker 1: content and the year and all that, I.
- 26:06Speaker 2: No, that wouldn't have been Luke Garrett. I okay, I'm out.
- 26:09Speaker 1: That actually may be a musical. I'm not sure it's
- 26:11Speaker 1: an old movie about the Yankees, don't I don't take
- 26:13Speaker 1: I don't take big issue with that. Number eight a
- 26:16Speaker 1: baseball movie from two thousand and eight called Sugar. I
- 26:20Speaker 1: have no idea. I've never heard of that. And I
- 26:23Speaker 1: like to point out right here that I spent pretty
- 26:27Speaker 1: much all of my youth playing baseball. I love baseball,
- 26:30Speaker 1: and I love baseball movies. If I have not seen
- 26:33Speaker 1: a baseball movie, there's a good reason for it. Number
- 26:36Speaker 1: seven from nineteen seventy three. The film banged the drums slowly?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Do you ever see that tray?
- 26:45Speaker 2: Nope?
- 26:46Speaker 1: Starred a very young Was it DeVito not Divito? I
- 26:52Speaker 1: would have seen that if it was DeVito.
- 26:55Speaker 2: De Niro.
- 26:56Speaker 1: De Niro, Yeah, start a very young de Niro. I
- 26:58Speaker 1: watched since I had never heard of this movie. I've
- 27:00Speaker 1: heard the phrase or bang the drums Slowly. I didn't
- 27:04Speaker 1: realize it was a baseball movie, so I looked it
- 27:05Speaker 1: up on YouTube. Do yourself a favor. Look up the
- 27:08Speaker 1: trailer for Bang the Drums Slowly from nineteen seventy three.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Okay, it looks terrible.
- 27:17Speaker 1: This will be one of those movies that you just
- 27:18Speaker 1: looking at the trailer like this movie, there's no way
- 27:20Speaker 1: it holds up. Also, the trailer makes it look kind
- 27:23Speaker 1: of homo erotic. Nothing wrong with that, however, there is
- 27:26Speaker 1: and I swear a part in the trailer where a
- 27:28Speaker 1: guy walks into the manager's office and the manager says,
- 27:31Speaker 1: drop your pants. All right, yeah, so yeah, I've not
- 27:37Speaker 1: seen that one. Number six from nineteen ninety two. A
- 27:40Speaker 1: League of their Own I'm okay with that. Okay, yeah,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I'm okay with A League of their Own being on
- 27:46Speaker 1: the Best Baseball Movie's list because to me, A League
- 27:50Speaker 1: of their Own did something that was kind of thought impossible.
- 27:53Speaker 1: It made a movie about girls playing baseball.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Entertaining Yes, and I wonderful acting great characters. I would absolutely,
- 28:06Speaker 2: I could even argue that's a top five.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Absolutely the rest the actual top five according to the
- 28:15Speaker 1: Hollywood Reporter of the Best baseball movies. Number five The
- 28:18Speaker 1: Natural from nineteen eighty four. That's a gimme. Absolutely, that
- 28:22Speaker 1: needs to be on everyone's list. That one I have
- 28:24Speaker 1: no problem with. I still get chills anytime I think
- 28:26Speaker 1: about that home run shot at the end, hitting the
- 28:30Speaker 1: hitting the Light standards. Number four from nineteen fifty seven,
- 28:34Speaker 1: Fear Strikes Out. Never saw it, I have no idea.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Number three Bull Durham from nineteen eighty eight. Yes, that
- 28:43Speaker 1: needs to be on there. So Bull Durham did something
- 28:47Speaker 1: too that I didn't know was possible. Bull Durham accomplished
- 28:51Speaker 1: the fantastic because it weaved soft, wet kisses and baseball
- 28:56Speaker 1: together seamlessly.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Enough.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Number two Moneyball from twenty eleven, good baseball movie. I
- 29:07Speaker 1: might put it in my top ten, but I certainly
- 29:09Speaker 1: would not have it. Number two on this list. Number one,
- 29:12Speaker 1: according to The Hollywood Reporter of the top ten baseball
- 29:14Speaker 1: movies of all time, Eight Men Out from nineteen eighty eight,
- 29:19Speaker 1: the story about the nineteen nineteen Chicago Black Sox who
- 29:22Speaker 1: through the World Series.
- 29:25Speaker 2: You telling me these ears left out Field of Dreams.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Uh huh? And they being left out Major League Uh huh.
- 29:40Speaker 1: They also left off the Sandlot.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm okay with the Sandlot being left out?
- 29:46Speaker 1: Was this top ten?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay? Top ten?
- 29:52Speaker 1: Also? Uh? And since I don't want you being the
- 29:57Speaker 1: only one that gets to use the bleep on this.
- 29:58Speaker 1: How can you have a list that ranks the top
- 30:02Speaker 1: ten baseball movies of all time? And there's no there
- 30:04Speaker 1: is no god bad news Bears?
- 30:11Speaker 2: Okay? Yeah, when Field of Dreams, sorry, like, when you
- 30:22Speaker 2: leave that off a list and it's not in your
- 30:25Speaker 2: top five, you can go yourself.
- 30:31Speaker 1: And that's what we feel about your top ten baseball
- 30:33Speaker 1: list with a bat with a in bat sideways.

- 31:35Speaker 1: Today Back inside the Treehouse, I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 31:37Speaker 1: Trey Trenholme today Wednesday, March twelfth, twenty twenty five, before
- 31:43Speaker 1: we dive into birthdays, Trey, you had something you wanted
- 31:45Speaker 1: to ask me about the best baseball movies of all time?
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:48Speaker 2: What what would be your number one? What would be
- 31:50Speaker 2: your top five?
- 31:53Speaker 1: I realize what I'm going to say is is controversial
- 31:57Speaker 1: when it comes to saying my number one baseball movie
- 32:01Speaker 1: of all time. I recognize that, but it's Major League. Yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 1: I know three. I'm getting with you. No, no, no,
- 32:18Speaker 1: major League three Back to the Minors is not my
- 32:21Speaker 1: favorite baseball movie of all time, but Major League one
- 32:25Speaker 1: is the original. Major League is my favorite. Now. To me,
- 32:29Speaker 1: there's an important distinction to make between my favorite baseball
- 32:32Speaker 1: movie of all time and what might be considered the
- 32:35Speaker 1: best baseball movie of all time. My number one is
- 32:38Speaker 1: Major League because that's the one that I get the
- 32:41Speaker 1: most enjoyment out of. It's the one that if I
- 32:44Speaker 1: had to pick one baseball movie to watch for the
- 32:46Speaker 1: rest of my life, it would be Major League. I
- 32:48Speaker 1: love that movie. I love everything about it. It's an
- 32:51Speaker 1: underdog story. The cast is phenomenal. You get the wild
- 32:56Speaker 1: thing and the crowd going crazy. I love that movie
- 32:59Speaker 1: with all of my heart. That is my number one.
- 33:01Speaker 1: That is my favorite.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I don't hate it, you know, it's firmly in my
- 33:08Speaker 2: top five. The underrated Bob Buker also makes that movie
- 33:13Speaker 2: just fantastic.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's I know that. There are a lot of
- 33:19Speaker 1: legendary broadcasters out there that shaped me and other young
- 33:24Speaker 1: broadcasters to want to be like them. I always wanted
- 33:29Speaker 1: to be like if I was, I guarantee you had
- 33:31Speaker 1: I been a play by play guy with any sport,
- 33:34Speaker 1: I would have been the Bob Buker style.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Would not have been the summer all or the al Michaels.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Like al Michaels, do you believe in miracles? I mean,
- 33:42Speaker 1: that's phenomenal. But man, if I if I could choose
- 33:45Speaker 1: the broadcast style I would have, it'd be a little
- 33:47Speaker 1: bit of Bob Bucher from a Major League, just a
- 33:50Speaker 1: bit outside along with the heavy drenk. Yeah, listen to
- 33:59Speaker 1: the roar crow. But yeah, it is. It's my favorite now,
- 34:05Speaker 1: keeping in mind that The Natural probably has one of
- 34:09Speaker 1: my favorite moments from a baseball movie with the ending
- 34:11Speaker 1: with the lights and the home run. I love that.
- 34:13Speaker 1: The thing about The Natural I didn't like is I
- 34:15Speaker 1: wanted more baseball in it. There's a lot of off
- 34:17Speaker 1: the field stuff happening in The Natural.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I mean, that's fair. I remember, I mean
- 34:25Speaker 2: that was the first baseball movie I ever saw Roy
- 34:28Speaker 2: Hobbs like that was, I mean, thrilling, great movie. Field
- 34:35Speaker 2: of Dreams will always be my number one and and
- 34:37Speaker 2: just it it will. The day Field of Dreams doesn't
- 34:42Speaker 2: make me cry is the day I probably need to
- 34:44Speaker 2: be put out to pasture. I guess I will have
- 34:48Speaker 2: lost my emotions at that point because that movie just
- 34:51Speaker 2: always gets to me.
- 34:54Speaker 1: If you did watch a Field of Dreams and you
- 34:56Speaker 1: didn't cry, do you want me to then take you
- 35:00Speaker 1: to set you out into pasture? And would you prefer
- 35:03Speaker 1: it to actually be a cornfield?
- 35:05Speaker 3: No?
- 35:05Speaker 2: That's fine, Okay, I can just walk into the cornfield
- 35:08Speaker 2: and I'll just you know, you make me disappear.
- 35:14Speaker 1: We're being honest. Wouldn't that be a cool way to go?
- 35:17Speaker 2: Eh? You know what I got? No, I got no
- 35:20Speaker 2: problems with it.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Walking into a cornfield where they shot Field of Dreams
- 35:24Speaker 1: that would be that would be decent. Yeah, and they
- 35:27Speaker 1: had that thing. They still have it. I mean, that's
- 35:29Speaker 1: one of the cool things Major League Baseball has done
- 35:31Speaker 1: in recent years is have the Field of Dreams game
- 35:34Speaker 1: each year. Between what the NHL does with their outdoor
- 35:39Speaker 1: hockey game once a year, which was awesome in Dallas
- 35:43Speaker 1: at the Cotton Bowl that one year, the Field of
- 35:45Speaker 1: Dreams games that they do each year with Major League Baseball. Now,
- 35:48Speaker 1: I love those. I think those are fantastic and I
- 35:50Speaker 1: hope they I hope they do those forever. I think
- 35:53Speaker 1: it's awesome.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm with you my number two. It would
- 35:57Speaker 2: be a toss up between Bull Durham and May League.
- 36:00Speaker 2: There's yeah, both just great cast, great great lines, great riding.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Uh that that especially in Major League that cast. I
- 36:13Speaker 2: mean a young Wesley Snipes, Charlie Sheen. I mean, that
- 36:16Speaker 2: was just a phenomenal, phenomenal lineup.
- 36:22Speaker 1: And we didn't realize it at the time because the
- 36:24Speaker 1: whole premise of the movie with having a terrible owner
- 36:28Speaker 1: who wanted nothing more than to relocate the team, it
- 36:32Speaker 1: kind of sounds like what the Mavericks are doing right now?
- 36:35Speaker 2: Well, no, but you really if you consider that now,
- 36:40Speaker 2: it was visionary. I mean if you look at with
- 36:41Speaker 2: just what Oakland just did, what between just tanking in
- 36:45Speaker 2: general to get you know, draft picks and everything else,
- 36:49Speaker 2: or to move a team. Yeah, it was. It was
- 36:51Speaker 2: ahead of its time.
- 36:52Speaker 1: It's true. The difference is is that no one wants
- 36:55Speaker 1: to take pieces of clothing off of off the Davis owner.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Leave that man clothed at all times, and honestly, to
- 37:06Speaker 1: make everyone happy, let's put a hood over his head
- 37:08Speaker 1: as well, at least a wig.

- 37:55Speaker 1: Back inside the Treehouse, I'm Don Alley along with Trey Trendholm.
- 37:59Speaker 1: We were just talking about the Hollywood Reporter putting out
- 38:02Speaker 1: their top ten best baseball movies best to baseball. Jesus,
- 38:06Speaker 1: I keep doing that top ten best baseball movies of
- 38:09Speaker 1: all time with some glaring omissions that I feel like
- 38:12Speaker 1: we've corrected rightfully, and then talking about how the whole
- 38:18Speaker 1: plot of Major League Life imitated Art because everything, like
- 38:24Speaker 1: you said, Trey, especially like what happens with the Raiders
- 38:26Speaker 1: organization on football. That family has picked up and moved
- 38:30Speaker 1: at more times than an army brat family has moved around.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And I know Al Davis was the best known owner
- 38:39Speaker 1: of the Raiders, and then when he passed away, it
- 38:42Speaker 1: went to his kid.
- 38:43Speaker 2: And fairly and Al Davis was also was a football guy.
- 38:49Speaker 2: He coached the team, He knew football. He got crazy
- 38:54Speaker 2: in his older years, but he was a visionary when
- 38:59Speaker 2: he started his His kid is.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Not his offspring is troubling to look at. Uh huh,
- 39:08Speaker 1: what would be the best way? I can't even remember
- 39:11Speaker 1: what's his first name. I know he's a Davis, Mark
- 39:14Speaker 1: Mark Davis. He is unfortunate looking. He's got a horrific
- 39:22Speaker 1: sort of a reddish bowl cut haircut. His his face
- 39:29Speaker 1: looks a little bit like Jim Carrey's Fire Marshall Bill
- 39:33Speaker 1: from in Living Color. And what I think is so
- 39:40Speaker 1: fascinating about him is is you said, what what did
- 39:43Speaker 1: what did he say about his girlfriend?
- 39:44Speaker 2: Or he said that his hot, you know, twenty something
- 39:49Speaker 2: girlfriend was unaware of his billionaire status when they met
- 39:53Speaker 2: and was just attracted to his smile smile, and you know,
- 40:03Speaker 2: he's dopey enough looking. Maybe he believes that he might
- 40:06Speaker 2: believe it.
- 40:07Speaker 1: You know why, probably because she told him she's like,
- 40:08Speaker 1: I had no idea, please, and he's a billionaire, right,
- 40:16Speaker 1: I'm not even sure. No, sorry, no, I even as
- 40:23Speaker 1: a millionaire. It seems like a stretch to me.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean no, it would. It would absolutely
- 40:28Speaker 2: be a stretch that you know, someone didn't know, because
- 40:32Speaker 2: I mean he's dopey looking at best. I mean kind
- 40:36Speaker 2: of a bowl cut on the front, mullet in the back, redhead.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Uh just I don't, I mean just just not. I
- 40:48Speaker 2: mean looks like he got his ass beat by a
- 40:50Speaker 2: can of pringles. I mean, and uh yeah, So I
- 40:58Speaker 2: mean that's come on, man, you know, it's okay. It's okay.
- 41:03Speaker 2: You could say, yeah, I'm a billionaire and I get
- 41:07Speaker 2: hot chicks, and everyone you know tip their hat to you.
- 41:11Speaker 1: We all think it. Huh, It's okay. It comes at
- 41:15Speaker 1: the territory. We understand it, we all know it. Yes,
- 41:22Speaker 1: but that man is clearly if he truly believes that
- 41:25Speaker 1: he is living in denial.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Well look at the way he runs that team. It
- 41:31Speaker 2: may be possible.
- 41:33Speaker 1: See, that is very very very very possible. All right,
- 41:36Speaker 1: one last thing to share with you before we close
- 41:37Speaker 1: up the treehouse today, and speaking of being sad about things,
- 41:43Speaker 1: did you know Trey, that in Japan you can hire
- 41:46Speaker 1: a handsome man to watch sad movies with you and
- 41:49Speaker 1: wipe your tears. It's true. Young women in Japan that
- 41:56Speaker 1: are single can hire a handsome weeping boy. That's what
- 41:59Speaker 1: they're called, handsome weeping boys to watch sad movies with
- 42:02Speaker 1: them and wipe their tears. Rooted in the concept of rukatsu,
- 42:07Speaker 1: this service promotes emotional relase and helps alleviate workplace stress
- 42:11Speaker 1: by creating a safe space for people to express their
- 42:13Speaker 1: emotions freely. So if you live in Japan, your young lady,
- 42:19Speaker 1: and you're single, there is a company that you can
- 42:22Speaker 1: hire to bring you a handsome man to watch sad
- 42:24Speaker 1: movies with you and wipe away your tears.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I feel like there's a business opportunity here.
- 42:35Speaker 1: There is. It's called Hot Girls for Cowboys fans, and
- 42:41Speaker 1: I believe you will be their best customer.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Tray not for long, make it for Longhorn fans and okay,
