- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity, no topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hello, friends.
- 0:21Welcome.
- 0:22God bless you.
- 0:23Thank you for listening and for watching and for sharing the podcast.
- 0:26I want to shout out to some friends who have sent donations in the end of last year.
- 0:32And early, you know, like last week, Ohio is in the house.
- 0:36Thank you, Joanne.
- 0:37God bless you.
- 0:38We heard from Ohio.
- 0:39Wisconsin, California, Wyoming, New York, Georgia, Washington state, Nebraska, South
- 0:46Dakota, Minnesota, Virginia, South Carolina, Iowa, New Mexico.
- 0:51Thank you guys so very much for your donations.
- 0:54It's going to get us going.
- 0:56We've got some momentum going into the New Year.
- 0:57So praise God.
- 0:58I want to bring in our guest today, Russ Miller, with creation ministries.
- 1:02He's an author and he began creation ministries 24 years ago after giving his business to a
- 1:10co-worker.
- 1:11And he then began creation, evolution, and science ministries.
- 1:16He's authored five creation oriented books, including cost and we'll talk about that in
- 1:21a few minutes.
- 1:22And most importantly, he's worked with Northwest Christian School of Phoenix, Arizona to develop
- 1:28an online creation science course that qualifies for high school credit.
- 1:35That's fascinating to me.
- 1:37And we talk a lot about homeschooling here, so that's really neat.
- 1:40Based on his book cost, this puts biblical creation back in public schools for the first
- 1:45time in like 60 years.
- 1:46And Russ also was written and illustrated two coloring books for kids along with his
- 1:5120 plus seminars.
- 1:53He is conceived and developed a grand canyon rim raft and grand staircase tours, leading
- 2:00thousands of people on these God honoring adventures.
- 2:04We'll get more information on that.
- 2:06And by the way, his website is creation ministries.org and Russ Miller, welcome to World
- 2:13View Matters, so good to have you on and now we get to see you.
- 2:17Hey, David.
- 2:18It's good to see you.
- 2:19Happy New Year.
- 2:20Happy New Year to you too, brother.
- 2:23Your dress really warmed there.
- 2:24Did I hear you, we're based in Wisconsin.
- 2:27We have no snow on the ground.
- 2:29Did I hear you say you got a little bit of snow in Arizona?
- 2:33Yes, we're up in Northern Arizona.
- 2:36I know most people around the country think that Arizona is all desert, but right now on
- 2:41Flagstaff it about 7,000 feet above sea level and we have four inches of snow last night.
- 2:48And it's actually been a very dry winter, so we were glad to get it, but I woke up this
- 2:52morning, the heater in this condo that we've rented for a couple of weeks went out last
- 2:58night.
- 2:59It was a 28 degrees outside, it's about 60 inside right now.
- 3:03And they're supposed to get it fixed this afternoon, so I'm trying to stay cool and may
- 3:07have actually overdressed a little bit here in the morning.
- 3:12But anyways, we'll do our best to share with everyone that's listening, because I've been
- 3:19looking forward to speaking with you for a couple of weeks now to get this out.
- 3:23Yeah, and I'm excited, Russ.
- 3:24This is your first time on World View Matters.
- 3:26We've talked on an audio podcast before.
- 3:29This is the first time I get to see you and do this although we've met in person.
- 3:34Before we get into the topic, how the global flood is the lynchpin in the world of worldviews.
- 3:40This is really important what you're doing with your book cost and working with Northwest
- 3:44Christian School and Phoenix.
- 3:47As we know, we've talked about this for many, many years now.
- 3:51The government run school system has kicked out the truth, the creation account, which
- 3:57is really what happened.
- 4:00But now they've got the theory of evolution in most schools being taught as fact, not theory.
- 4:06And this is really interesting.
- 4:07So tell us a little bit about cost and what you're doing there with getting this in the
- 4:11school.
- 4:12Well, David, the book cost, COS and the cross, it's an acronym, the C stands for creation.
- 4:21The O is original as an original send.
- 4:24The S is separation and the cross is our need for redemption through our Lord and Savior,
- 4:30Jesus Christ.
- 4:32So the foundation of the gospel message is very basically that God gave us a perfect
- 4:38creation.
- 4:39You know, David, you get asked all the time, how can we have a loving God in this world
- 4:44full of death and suffering?
- 4:46Well, this is the answer, the cost.
- 4:48The answer is that God didn't give us the world the way it is today full of death and
- 4:52suffering.
- 4:53God gave us a perfect, and this is the C creation.
- 4:57What's not perfect today, what in the world happened to it?
- 5:00Well, Adam's first sin, Adam's, and this is the original send, which separated us.
- 5:07The S separated us from God.
- 5:09Now, this required us to be redeemed with God, but we've got a problem there.
- 5:14We can't redeem ourselves with God.
- 5:16We have to be 100% righteous, perfect, sendless to be redeemed with God, and we can't do that.
- 5:24We're born with a sin nature.
- 5:26So how loving is God, despite our sin that corrupted his creation, allowing death to enter
- 5:31and separated us from him, he sinned his only begotten son to suffer and die in our place.
- 5:37His shed blood covering our sin, our need for redemption, and that's a loving God.
- 5:42You can't get more loving than that.
- 5:44So when somebody asks you, how can we have a loving God in this world full of death and
- 5:49suffering, you just go through the cause and bring them right to the foot of the cross
- 5:55and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- 5:57So that's what the cost is.
- 6:00Now, and you mentioned earlier, we're going to talk about the global flood and why the
- 6:06lynchpin and the war of worldviews about 200 years ago.
- 6:12Most people thought the earth was around 6,000 years old and had been judged by a flood
- 6:16that covered all the high hills under the whole heaven.
- 6:19Well, 200 years ago, some folks started saying, wait a minute, the earth's crust.
- 6:26Those stratified layers laid down by water didn't form quickly in a flood.
- 6:32Instead, they formed a uniform, slow gradual rates over millions and billions of years
- 6:38of time and there was never a global flood.
- 6:41Well, in 2 Peter 3, 3 through 6, we're told that in the last days, scoppers would claim
- 6:50uniform processes and deny the global flood and here are today secular geology is based
- 6:57on a belief in uniform processes and no global flood.
- 7:01Well, see the global flood explains how those stratified layers form quickly wiping out
- 7:07every order of belief.
- 7:10Now, Christians, we're slow to pick up why the age of the earth matters.
- 7:14You know, I hear people all the time say, hey, if God used 6 days or 6 billion years, what's
- 7:19it matter?
- 7:20Well, number one, besides, you know, God's word, the old earth believes and let this sink
- 7:26in.
- 7:27The old earth beliefs are based on those stratified layers forming slowly, but those layers
- 7:32are full of billions of dead things, which death before man.
- 7:40And once you accept death existed before Adam, you can't teach Adam's sin brought in
- 7:46death, separating us from God, recurring our redemption.
- 7:50It's very subtle, but it's totally devastating and that's the reason the global flood is so
- 7:56important.
- 7:57Life's out the older beliefs who cares about old earth beliefs, well, they are now the
- 8:02foundation of Darwinism, naturalism, humanism, modern atheism, agnosticism and all of the
- 8:11nonbiblical beliefs inside of the church today, which I don't know if I really want to
- 8:16get into right now, but I'm actually making a brand new message that I'll get to a conference
- 8:21in Portland, Idaho in early March.
- 8:25And it's going to be a false Christ, shall it write, and I'm going to go through scripture
- 8:30and how we're saved and the importance of actually accepting the Jesus of the Bible.
- 8:37Russ, did you say nonbiblical ideas inside churches?
- 8:41I'm kidding.
- 8:42I'm kidding.
- 8:43I'm kidding.
- 8:44No, but you make a good point if there was no global flood.
- 8:49How can we believe in the entirety of God's word and the Bible as our truth to base our
- 8:55salvation on, right?
- 8:58Absolutely.
- 8:59And, David, today, and this has been going on for a hundred years, it was 200 years ago
- 9:05that the geologic column was invented, which is based on the earth's crust, the stratified
- 9:10layers, separated up by grain size weight and density by moving water by the way.
- 9:16They started saying, wait, they weren't laid down in a flood, they formed slowly and uniformly
- 9:21without a flood, fulfilling second, theater, three, three, three, six.
- 9:25And that's where all older beliefs are based upon.
- 9:28Radiometric dating techniques have to get a date that matches the column where they don't
- 9:32get published.
- 9:33The dates come from the column based on denial of the global flood.
- 9:39So the global flood is the linchpin because a global flood explains how the earth's crust
- 9:43formed quickly, destroying all of those older beliefs.
- 9:47Well, inside the church today, trying to fit millions and billions of years of death
- 9:52into God's word, death, prior to Adam, we now have the yesterday evolutionist who denied
- 9:59Jesus as the creator and the judge he says he is and replaced it with one that fits the
- 10:05secular foundation of uniform processes and no global flood.
- 10:10We have progressive creationists that, again, they deny the Jesus of the Bible and replace
- 10:16him with one that fits with the foundation of secular atheistic humanism, millions of
- 10:21years leading to Darwinism with no global flood and so forth.
- 10:25David, I'm not trying to attack those people I used to be at the yesterday evolutionist.
- 10:30I'm trying to help them, but I need to get and we need to get this information to them
- 10:35because most Christians who have accepted the yesterday evolution or progressive creation
- 10:41etc, they don't realize they're actually denying the biblical Christ and replacing him
- 10:48with one that's the foundations of secular humanism, atheistic humanism.
- 10:54So that's how important it is, but in my experience, and first of all, talking about this
- 10:59will not make you popular inside the Christian industry, because over 90% of our seminaries
- 11:06teach these various Christs.
- 11:08So it's a big problem, you know, in second Thessalonians it talks about this great falling
- 11:14away and there's a lot of debate among Christians and theologians etc, over is that speaking
- 11:21about apostasy is that speaking about the rapture and it may be both because you certainly
- 11:29see massive apostasy when 90% of our schools and seminaries teach a different version
- 11:35of Christ, wow, you can't you can't get further off base than that.
- 11:42So as it is loving and straightforward, backed by biblical creation way and biblical scripture,
- 11:50I'm putting together a message, it's going to spell out and show how those Christ or not
- 11:56the Jesus of the Bible and why it's so important to humble ourselves to his word, not our
- 12:02own thoughts and ideas.
- 12:04We're going to have to have you on a gap, do you give that message in March?
- 12:09Is that a conference sealing the mind or another thing?
- 12:13It is.
- 12:14It's going to be at a stealing the mind of friends in Portland, Idaho on Saturday, March 16.
- 12:20And David to be honest with you, I expect it may be the only time I'm allowed to give
- 12:25this live, so I'd love to kind of share some of that with you, you know, I mean, think
- 12:32about this, how important is it to Jesus that we accept Him as our Creator?
- 12:37Well, the first five words of the Bible, the first five words introduced God as a Creator
- 12:46in the beginning, God created, takes in five words to announce He's the Creator.
- 12:53You know, a trick question that I'll ask people is that, hey, do you guys believe that
- 12:58the entire Bible is the inspired word of God and usually everybody raises their hand and
- 13:04then I do a cheap shot because I point out, well, actually the 10 commandments are etched
- 13:09into stone by God's very own finger.
- 13:12So the rest of the Bible is God's inspired word through holy men inspired by the Holy
- 13:16Spirit, but the 10 commandments are etched into stone by God's very own finger.
- 13:21And David, in the short little 10 commandments, God reiterates for in six days He created
- 13:26the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that is in them and rested on the Sabbath.
- 13:32So the first words of the Bible say He's the Creator in the middle of the 10 commandments,
- 13:37He claims He's the Creator on the day of Jesus' resurrection.
- 13:42He approaches His two disciples walking away from Jerusalem.
- 13:46They've heard He's resurrected His disciples don't even believe it.
- 13:50He approaches His two disciples on the day of His resurrection and begins teaching them
- 13:57from Moses, which I have no doubt starts out that in the beginning He created.
- 14:06The fact that He's our Creator gives Him the right to judge us because He owns us.
- 14:12And because He loves us as our judge, He has the right to put the death sentence we deserve
- 14:19on Himself and become our Savior.
- 14:22So Jesus is Creator, Judge, and Savior.
- 14:26So when we denote the Creator, we deny the judge and replace Him with one that fits
- 14:30the foundation of atheistic humanism, I think that's a dangerous place to be.
- 14:36And that's what I'm trying to see.
- 14:40The last time the gospel is mentioned in the Bible in Revelation 14, 6 through 7, I believe,
- 14:48it's when an angel holding the everlasting gospel is encouraging the people on earth to worship
- 14:56the Creator.
- 14:59When the elders faltered their knees and they throw their golden crowns at the foot of
- 15:05God and worship the Creator, it's important that we understand that Jesus is our Creator
- 15:14because that's the real Jesus to replace anything else is a dangerous place to be.
- 15:20Yes, we're speaking with Russ Miller, creationministries.org.
- 15:25We're going to talk more about the global flood in just a minute.
- 15:28A word from our sponsor, Harbinger's Daily, we'll be right back.
- 15:31Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.
- 15:35The world news biblically understood.
- 15:37Stay informed at harbingerstaley.com.
- 15:49Russ Miller is our guest and Russ, one of the things on one of the pages of your website,
- 15:55it says off grid creationist.
- 15:59Tell us about that.
- 16:00You've got two minute videos that you send out about that.
- 16:03Tell us a little bit about that before we continue back on the flood.
- 16:07David, my wife and I, for about eight and a half years ago, we found a log cabin home
- 16:14we wanted to live in and it happens to be in an extinct volcanic crater in northern Arizona.
- 16:22We moved there, but it has a great solar system with a backup generator.
- 16:29It does not have actual electricity coming into that area.
- 16:33So it's off the grid and it's nothing like you would expect.
- 16:38It's a beautiful chalet log cabin, three levels on the hillside, surrounded by huge gamble trees and fine trees.
- 16:46And that's where we live.
- 16:47So a few years ago, during the when during the COVID release, I mean, the when the COVID got out accidentally that bad.
- 16:58I believe it was, we don't want to go there, right?
- 17:03We're going to be here for a long time.
- 17:07We started doing these short little videos called the off grid creationist.
- 17:14And I'll start out doing something that's somewhat off grid or heading wood, chopping wood, working on the generator or doing something.
- 17:22And I'll just do that for about 30 seconds and I'll say, but you know, this really isn't what I want to talk about.
- 17:27And then I'll go into a part of a creation message.
- 17:30And they're fairly short.
- 17:32They're actually probably about four minutes long each.
- 17:35And they're just kind of fun, but they get some good information across.
- 17:40So you can go to that page on Russ's website creation ministries.org off the grid, man, that does open up a whole nother topic.
- 17:50But we're not going there today.
- 17:51We've got to go back and talk about the flood.
- 17:53One thing and the truth of scripture and the truth of Genesis, when I sometimes flip over and watch Nat Geo or watch some sort of program about nature,
- 18:06about different species, killing the other species and how the wild works.
- 18:11Oftentimes in the intro, it starts off Russ Miller by saying billions of years ago or millions of years ago.
- 18:21And I'm thinking, OK, well, how did they come up with this?
- 18:24And so my point is kids are being not just kids.
- 18:28I mean, people are being influenced by these programs that just say, all right, where's the proof?
- 18:35They're just saying millions or billions of years.
- 18:37Just your thoughts on that before we continue.
- 18:41David, those millions and billions of years are all based on they're never having been a global flood in the earth's crust, forming slowly and uniformly at today's rate.
- 18:52That it's always been the same.
- 18:54And that's where they came up with the geologic column and assigned millions and hundreds of millions of years to the column based on again, uniform processes and no global flood.
- 19:04Again, second, theater, three, three, three, six says that basically scoppers in the last day will claim uniform processes and did not global flood.
- 19:13Just as the word God says, that's what they're doing.
- 19:17That's where the old earth plays all come from.
- 19:19Now, I cover that in my book costs and our tea chains and on our grand Canyon tours as well.
- 19:26The age of the earth comes down to whether or not there was a global flood.
- 19:31If you accept millions and billions of years and you may not realize this, but you're accepting the sector of interpretation of the earth's crust, those stratified layers laid down by water separated by grain size, weight and density by moving water.
- 19:45You're accepting the sector of our interpretation that there was never a flood and they formed slowly and uniformly at today's rates.
- 19:52That's where the millions of years beliefs come from.
- 19:55The global flood extends how those layers form quickly in the year long flood, wiping out every order of belief that puts death prior to Adam.
- 20:04One thing I show people like a grand Canyon, for instance, a grand Canyon is one of what I call the five pillars of older beliefs.
- 20:12It's one of their pillars that it forms slowly over millions and billions of years of time.
- 20:17I just say millions, not billions.
- 20:19The evidence of the flood that the grand Canyon's spectacular David, have you been to Grand Canyon?
- 20:27No.
- 20:28Well, you need to come out and go with me on one of our tours.
- 20:32If you can get away this summer, I'd love to have you come out and see this.
- 20:35It's mind boggling, but when you're standing on the rim of the canyon, it's a mile from the rim down to the river.
- 20:42A mile of stratified layers laid down by water.
- 20:45And they say that the river carved through those layers slowly over millions of years of time.
- 20:51A few things they will tell you is that the river doesn't, and the canyon doesn't cut into the plane.
- 20:57The area uplifted, called the Kayabab Plateau or Kayabab Upwork, and the waters cut through the Upwork.
- 21:05You're standing at the edge of Grand Canyon.
- 21:07You're on top of the Upwork looking at the chasm that's cut through the Upwork.
- 21:13Now, what happened and another thing they won't tell you there because the sector was on the system,
- 21:18is that that mile from the rim of the river,
- 21:22the whole lot of strata is nothing.
- 21:24There used to be two miles of rock layers above today's rim that have been removed from southern Utah south to the sea.
- 21:35And God left two buttes.
- 21:38I just saw one in the video you run in the background.
- 21:42He left two 900 foot buttes one at each of the two entrances to the south rim 900 feet above.
- 21:50The layer that makes up the rim of Grand Canyon, which is the Kayabab limestone.
- 21:54And those 900 foot layers have been removed for tens of thousands of square miles.
- 22:00They're picked up 65 miles north of the canyon in the.
- 22:06What's called the Grand Staircase.
- 22:08The Grand Staircase is where the missing layers are picked up as you go north from Grand Canyon into southern Utah.
- 22:15And it's a series of 2,000 and 2,500 foot cliffs.
- 22:20I just mentioned the major ones. You go 65 miles north into 2000 to 2,500 tall or million cliffs.
- 22:28Now, if you climbed up on top of those and went 40 to 45 miles north,
- 22:32you'll come to the Zion area and hit the white and gray cliffs through which Zion cuts that are another 2500 foot of cliffs.
- 22:40If you climb up on those and go 40 to 45 miles north, you can hit the 2000 to 2500 foot tall pink cliffs where we find Bryce.
- 22:50That's the Grand Staircase. A huge, erosional event that cut and left Bryce, Zion, for million cliffs, go on to the sea.
- 22:59Grand Canyon is a big hole in the ground.
- 23:02Okay, it's 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide. Average is a mile deep.
- 23:09Now, think about this. It's missing. The canyon is missing about 900 cubic miles of sediments.
- 23:16That's a big hole in the ground. But the Grand Staircase isn't missing 900 cubic miles of sediments.
- 23:23It's missing about 133,000 cubic miles of sediments.
- 23:29Grand Canyon's missing sediments don't even equal 1% of what's missing from the staircase.
- 23:35And that's flooding on it that had to be on a global scale. There's no other way to explain it.
- 23:41So these are some of the things I share on our Grand Canyon Grand Staircase tours.
- 23:48You cannot overemphasize the importance of Genesis, particularly one through 11 chapters, one through 11 with the global flood.
- 23:57Because as you said earlier, if you remove the truth of the global flood and God's judgment,
- 24:03due to the corruption of mankind and Genesis 6, 7 and 8, if you remove that, then the Bible is not true.
- 24:10That's one of the things they try to use against us. But about these tours, Russ, I'm looking at your website now,
- 24:18and I just want to give you the opportunity to share where they can go to get information on the dates of the tours.
- 24:26The main tours that I have going this summer, we have three Grand Staircase tours going in June.
- 24:34And the way to get on those, I know one of them is already filled, two of them still have some seats left.
- 24:41We just added the third one because of the first two almost filled up.
- 24:46Go to compass.org.
- 24:49Compass International is who puts on the stealing the mind conferences up in Portland.
- 24:55And Bill and City Perkins, who are the founders of compass.
- 25:00We work together and we do our rim and raft trips and our Grand Staircase trips.
- 25:05And because of some security issues, because of all the terrorists we've led into the country through the southern border.
- 25:11So that's another, we probably don't want to get into right now.
- 25:15But compass.org and look under their tours. And you can, you can get on board our tours through compass and these these Grand Staircase tours are four night free.
- 25:27I did a trips. We're going to go to Zion Bryce in the North Rim of Grand Canyon, which by the way is spectacular.
- 25:34The North Rim is awesome. The above 1100 feet higher in elevation than the South Rim. It's spectacular.
- 25:41So yeah, if you're out there is interested in having an awesome Christian tour.
- 25:47Go to compass.org and to this staircase this June.
- 25:51Okay, compass.org for those trips, Russ's website creationministries.org.
- 25:57But by the way, we have to continue that conversation. We don't shy away from any topic here.
- 26:03And we are fed up with what's happening with the Fed at the southern border.
- 26:09And what's been happening over the years is just really astounding.
- 26:13You can't have a nation without borders. But yet, and it's a plan. It's a plan by the left. But anyway, Russ, we're running out of time already.
- 26:20So I just want to thank you for the work that you do. People get a lot of information, watch some videos.
- 26:26Check out Russ's book cost and Lord willing, we'd like to do this again in a couple of months. Is that sound good, Russ?
