January 2 - When Wisdom Calls · Bible Chat Devotional

• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 2nd.
• 0:11
Wisdoms call In a loud world. It feels like everyone has
• 0:14
something to say about how you should live.
• 0:17
Social media, friends, culture, and even your own thoughts
• 0:20
compete for your attention every single day.
• 0:23
The noise can be exhausting. In Proverbs chapter 1, verses 8
• 0:27
to 33, Wisdom speaks like a loving parent, urging us to
• 0:31
listen, not to control us, but to protect us.
• 0:34
Proverbs chapter 1, verses 8 to 9 describes godly instruction as
• 0:39
a graceful Garland, something that actually adds beauty and
• 0:42
value to your life. Then Wisdom says something
• 0:45
powerful in verse 23. If you turn at my correction, I
• 0:49
will pour out my spirit to you and make my words known to you.
• 0:52
God isn't yelling over the noise to shame you.
• 0:55
He's calling to guide you. Correction isn't rejection, it's
• 0:59
proof that He cares enough to redirect you before regret sets
• 1:02
in. Psalm 2 reminds us who truly
• 1:04
reigns over all the chaos. While the world feels unstable
• 1:08
  and unpredictable, God remains unshaken.
• 1:11
Psalm chapter 2, verse 11 tells us to serve the Lord with
• 1:15
  reverence and rejoice with trembling.
• 1:17
That combination might sound strange, but it's beautiful.
• 1:21
It means recognizing God's power while resting in His goodness.
• 1:24
When you know how mighty He is, you also realize how safe you
• 1:28
are when you trust Him, God's wisdom cuts through the noise.
• 1:31
It helps you recognize which voices lead to life and which
• 1:34
ones lead to emptiness. Following Him may not always
• 1:37
make you popular, but it will make you grounded, secure, and
• 1:40
at peace. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, in
• 1:44
a world full of voices, help me recognize Yours.
• 1:47
Give me a heart that listens and responds to Your wisdom, even
• 1:50
when it challenges me. Teach me to trust your
• 1:53
correction and rest in your authority.
• 1:55
Lead me into a life that reflects your truth and peace in
• 1:59
Jesus name, Amen. What if the ache you feel for
• 2:02
more is actually God calling you deeper?

• 3:23
chapter 1, verses 8 to 33 World English Bible.
• 3:27
My son, listen to your father's instruction and don't forsake
• 3:31
your mother's teaching, for they will be a Garland to grace your
• 3:34
head and chains around your neck.
• 3:36
My son, if sinners entice you, don't consent.
• 3:39
If they say come with us. Let's lie and wait for blood.
• 3:42
Let's lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.
• 3:45
Let's swallow them up alive like she all and whole like those who
• 3:48
go down into the pit. We'll find all valuable wealth.
• 3:52
We'll fill our houses with plunder.
• 3:54
You shall cast your lot among us.
• 3:55
We'll all have one purse. My son, don't walk on the path
• 3:58
with them. Keep your foot from their path,
• 4:01
For their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood, for
• 4:04
the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird.
• 4:07
But these lay in wait for their own blood.
• 4:09
They lurk secretly for their own lives.
• 4:12
So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain.
• 4:14
It takes away the life of its owners.
• 4:17
Wisdom calls aloud in the street.
• 4:19
She utters her voice in the public squares.
• 4:21
She calls at the head of noisy places.
• 4:24
At the entrance of the city gates she utters her words.
• 4:27
How long, you simple ones? Will you love simplicity?
• 4:30
How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery and fools
• 4:33
hate knowledge? Turn at my reproof.
• 4:36
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you.
• 4:38
I will make known my words to you, because I have called and
• 4:41
you have refused. I have stretched out my hand and
• 4:44
no one has paid attention. But you have ignored all my
• 4:47
counsel and wanted none of my reproof.
• 4:50
I also will laugh at your disaster.
• 4:52
I will mock when calamity overtakes you, when calamity
• 4:55
overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a
• 4:58
whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.
• 5:02
Then they will call on me, but I will not answer.
• 5:04
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me
• 5:07
because they hated knowledge and didn't choose the fear of
• 5:10
Yahweh. They wanted none of my counsel.
• 5:13
They despised all my reproof. Therefore they will eat of the
• 5:16
fruit of their own way and be filled with their own schemes.
• 5:20
For the backsliding of the simple will kill them.
• 5:22
The careless ease of fools will destroy them.
• 5:25
But whoever listens to me will dwell securely and will be at
• 5:28
ease without fear of harm. Psalm Chapter 2 World English
• 5:32
Bible Why do the nation's rage and the people's plot a vain
• 5:36
thing? The kings of the earth take a
• 5:38
stand, and the rulers take counsel together against Yahweh
• 5:41
and against his anointed, saying, Let's break their bonds
• 5:44
apart and cast their cords from us.
• 5:47
He who sits in the heavens will laugh.
• 5:49
The Lord will have them in derision.
• 5:51
Then He will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in
• 5:53
His wrath. Yet I have set my king on my
• 5:56
holy hill of Zion. I will tell of the decree Yahweh
• 5:59
said to me. You are my son today I have
• 6:02
become your father. Ask of me and I will give the
• 6:05
nations for your inheritance the uttermost parts of the earth for
• 6:08
your possession. You shall break them with a rod
• 6:10
of iron. You shall dash them in pieces
• 6:13
like a Potter's vessel. Now therefore be wise, you
• 6:16
kings, be instructed you judges of the earth, serve Yahweh with
• 6:20
fear and rejoice with trembling. Give sincere homage to the sun,
• 6:24
lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for His wrath will
• 6:27
soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take
• 6:30
refuge in Him. Thanks for joining us on Bible
