Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 2nd.
- 0:11Wisdoms call In a loud world. It feels like everyone has
- 0:14something to say about how you should live.
- 0:17Social media, friends, culture, and even your own thoughts
- 0:20compete for your attention every single day.
- 0:23The noise can be exhausting. In Proverbs chapter 1, verses 8
- 0:27to 33, Wisdom speaks like a loving parent, urging us to
- 0:31listen, not to control us, but to protect us.
- 0:34Proverbs chapter 1, verses 8 to 9 describes godly instruction as
- 0:39a graceful Garland, something that actually adds beauty and
- 0:42value to your life. Then Wisdom says something
- 0:45powerful in verse 23. If you turn at my correction, I
- 0:49will pour out my spirit to you and make my words known to you.
- 0:52God isn't yelling over the noise to shame you.
- 0:55He's calling to guide you. Correction isn't rejection, it's
- 0:59proof that He cares enough to redirect you before regret sets
- 1:02in. Psalm 2 reminds us who truly
- 1:04reigns over all the chaos. While the world feels unstable
- 1:08and unpredictable, God remains unshaken.
- 1:11Psalm chapter 2, verse 11 tells us to serve the Lord with
- 1:15reverence and rejoice with trembling.
- 1:17That combination might sound strange, but it's beautiful.
- 1:21It means recognizing God's power while resting in His goodness.
- 1:24When you know how mighty He is, you also realize how safe you
- 1:28are when you trust Him, God's wisdom cuts through the noise.
- 1:31It helps you recognize which voices lead to life and which
- 1:34ones lead to emptiness. Following Him may not always
- 1:37make you popular, but it will make you grounded, secure, and
- 1:40at peace. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, in
- 1:44a world full of voices, help me recognize Yours.
- 1:47Give me a heart that listens and responds to Your wisdom, even
- 1:50when it challenges me. Teach me to trust your
- 1:53correction and rest in your authority.
- 1:55Lead me into a life that reflects your truth and peace in
- 1:59Jesus name, Amen. What if the ache you feel for
- 2:02more is actually God calling you deeper?

- 3:23chapter 1, verses 8 to 33 World English Bible.
- 3:27My son, listen to your father's instruction and don't forsake
- 3:31your mother's teaching, for they will be a Garland to grace your
- 3:34head and chains around your neck.
- 3:36My son, if sinners entice you, don't consent.
- 3:39If they say come with us. Let's lie and wait for blood.
- 3:42Let's lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.
- 3:45Let's swallow them up alive like she all and whole like those who
- 3:48go down into the pit. We'll find all valuable wealth.
- 3:52We'll fill our houses with plunder.
- 3:54You shall cast your lot among us.
- 3:55We'll all have one purse. My son, don't walk on the path
- 3:58with them. Keep your foot from their path,
- 4:01For their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood, for
- 4:04the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird.
- 4:07But these lay in wait for their own blood.
- 4:09They lurk secretly for their own lives.
- 4:12So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain.
- 4:14It takes away the life of its owners.
- 4:17Wisdom calls aloud in the street.
- 4:19She utters her voice in the public squares.
- 4:21She calls at the head of noisy places.
- 4:24At the entrance of the city gates she utters her words.
- 4:27How long, you simple ones? Will you love simplicity?
- 4:30How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery and fools
- 4:33hate knowledge? Turn at my reproof.
- 4:36Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you.
- 4:38I will make known my words to you, because I have called and
- 4:41you have refused. I have stretched out my hand and
- 4:44no one has paid attention. But you have ignored all my
- 4:47counsel and wanted none of my reproof.
- 4:50I also will laugh at your disaster.
- 4:52I will mock when calamity overtakes you, when calamity
- 4:55overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a
- 4:58whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.
- 5:02Then they will call on me, but I will not answer.
- 5:04They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me
- 5:07because they hated knowledge and didn't choose the fear of
- 5:10Yahweh. They wanted none of my counsel.
- 5:13They despised all my reproof. Therefore they will eat of the
- 5:16fruit of their own way and be filled with their own schemes.
- 5:20For the backsliding of the simple will kill them.
- 5:22The careless ease of fools will destroy them.
- 5:25But whoever listens to me will dwell securely and will be at
- 5:28ease without fear of harm. Psalm Chapter 2 World English
- 5:32Bible Why do the nation's rage and the people's plot a vain
- 5:36thing? The kings of the earth take a
- 5:38stand, and the rulers take counsel together against Yahweh
- 5:41and against his anointed, saying, Let's break their bonds
- 5:44apart and cast their cords from us.
- 5:47He who sits in the heavens will laugh.
- 5:49The Lord will have them in derision.
- 5:51Then He will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in
- 5:53His wrath. Yet I have set my king on my
- 5:56holy hill of Zion. I will tell of the decree Yahweh
- 5:59said to me. You are my son today I have
- 6:02become your father. Ask of me and I will give the
- 6:05nations for your inheritance the uttermost parts of the earth for
- 6:08your possession. You shall break them with a rod
- 6:10of iron. You shall dash them in pieces
- 6:13like a Potter's vessel. Now therefore be wise, you
- 6:16kings, be instructed you judges of the earth, serve Yahweh with
- 6:20fear and rejoice with trembling. Give sincere homage to the sun,
- 6:24lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for His wrath will
- 6:27soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take
- 6:30refuge in Him. Thanks for joining us on Bible
