  Speaker 1: I'm sure I want to offer you all some encouragement,

  Speaker 1: because everybody needed. Let me tell you something. You strike

  Speaker 1: out on your goals, you strike out on your aspirations,

  Speaker 1: and so you strike out, as it happens to all

  Speaker 1: of us. Here it comes life. Life just hits one

  Speaker 1: of them bad notes as it always does, as it

  Speaker 1: always does for all of us everybody. Now, when those

  Speaker 1: bad notes happen, when the haters come out of nowhere,

  Speaker 1: when the setback comes up, when when the eye of
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: nowhere appears, when now I didn't see that coming comes.

  Speaker 2: Here's here's what you have to do.

  Speaker 1: Here is the thing that I have been teaching myself
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: for years that I used to not always understand. So

  Speaker 1: I'm trying to give it to you. You have to

  Speaker 1: be encouraged anyway. Now that's difficult, Okay, Steve, what you're

  Speaker 1: talking about? You just told me all this discouraging stuff
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: that can happen, and you said you got to be encouraged.

  Speaker 2: Anyway.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, man, you have to, because what's happening to you

  Speaker 1: right now, the thing that you're going through right now,

  Speaker 1: the thing that everybody's going through now.

  Speaker 2: Ain't nobody on smooth sailing. Man.

  Speaker 1: Everybody got something. And if they, if they don't smooth sailing,

  Speaker 1: just know this is coming. There's nothing I'm wishing on anybody.

  Speaker 1: It's just that this is life. This is how it

  Speaker 1: happens everybody. So please stop stop getting on the old

  Speaker 1: woe is Me bandwagon, the old Lord? Why met old lord?

  Speaker 1: Something always happened to me, something always happens to everybody.

  Speaker 1: But here's what you got to do. When you get

  Speaker 1: in moments like this. You got to be encouraged. You
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: got to remember in those times, in those times when
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: it's going wrong, you got to remember all that you've
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: been through.
• 2:43
  Speaker 2: You got to remember all that you've come through.
• 2:49
  Speaker 1: You have to remember those other times when you felt
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: like this and somehow, unexplainably you don't even really stop
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: to say nothing about it.

  Speaker 2: It just change you. And the problem that was is

  Speaker 2: no more.

  Speaker 1: And the situation that seems so insurmountable, you got over it.

  Speaker 1: You got around it, You got over it. Sometimes you

  Speaker 1: just got to slide right under it. Sometimes you got

  Speaker 1: to plow through it. But in those times when it's
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: discouraging for you, when you feel like giving up, those
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: are the test. Those are the moments that will determine
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: whether we make it or not.

  Speaker 2: I'll tell you one thing for sure.

  Speaker 1: If you give up in these moments, right here here
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: is a for show you'll never make it. That that's
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: unquestionably the deal. If you give up in these dark times,
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: if you give up in these what you think is
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: insurmountable moments, if you turn back now here is the
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: one thousand percent.

  Speaker 2: For shure you ain't gonna make it. But there is
• 4:09
  Speaker 2: a bright side to this situation.

  Speaker 1: If you keep your head down, if you keep forging,

  Speaker 1: if you keep pressing on. Sometimes, if you just stand

  Speaker 1: there and sometimes get knocked to your knees, but if

  Speaker 1: you stay in that place, if you just stay there
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: and ride the storm out, my head is bloodied but unbowed.

  Speaker 1: If you can just stay there, if you consider in
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: that moment.

  Speaker 2: And ride it out, you will win.

  Speaker 1: You will pass the test, and you will get to
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: move on to the next level. But there is no
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: next level without a test. You can't get to grade
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: six without passing grade You can't be a senior without
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: first being a junior.
• 5:05
  Speaker 2: You can't graduate.
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: Without fulfilling the hours and requirements. You see, I don't
• 5:12
  Speaker 1: care what you do in life. Look at it.
• 5:14
  Speaker 2: It's all set up on levels.

  Speaker 1: Well, you've got to accomplish the thing before in order
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: to get to the next level. And when you've made
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: those level accomplishments, you get to graduate. Now you can
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: go on and get a master's and a PhD. You
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: can go on and become rich. You can go become wealthy,
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: or you can go or you can go somewhere and
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: think yourself in another set of circumstances. But you got
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: to go through something to get to something. That ain't
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: nothing free. So you can stop that notion about being
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: successful that is easy. Come on, man, if it was easy,
• 5:48
  Speaker 1: what we don't what we're talking about. It is not easy.
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: Stop thinking it is. It is difficult. But I'll tell
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: you what's even more difficult than becoming successful. You want
• 6:01
  Speaker 1: to know what that is? Try not being successful your
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: whole life. That's hard. You are listening to a person

  Speaker 1: who has done them both been successful and really really
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: been not successful.

  Speaker 2: And I got news for you both of them hard.

  Speaker 1: But I would rather deal with what it is to

  Speaker 1: be something, to make something out of myself, to force
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: myself to go to work when I don't feel like it.

  Speaker 1: This morning was a rough get up for me, but
• 6:34
  Speaker 1: I got up and I said thank you anyway, never
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: give up, And I don't watch this dude to he
• 6:40
  Speaker 1: don mess around and got close to me because he
• 6:42
  Speaker 1: just never gave up.
• 6:44
  Speaker 2: You can never ever give up. Never. It's not an option.

  Speaker 1: Giving up cannot be an option for you. You cannot
• 6:53
  Speaker 1: do that. It's out of the question. It's inconceivable in
• 6:58
  Speaker 1: your mind to quit. To quit is to what what
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: you get when you quit?

  Speaker 2: Nothing? That is a reward for.

  Speaker 1: Those who hang in there, who never give up, who
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: forged through, who see it through, who get knocked down

  Speaker 1: and get back up, who gets trample but somehow gathers
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: themselves and get back to your needs. But stay in
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: that place, man, don't ever give up. Don't let go
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: be encouraged. Think of all you've been through, Think of
• 7:27
  Speaker 1: all you come through, Think of all He's done for you.
• 7:30
  Speaker 1: Think of all the times you thought you wasn't gonna
• 7:32
  Speaker 1: make it, but somehow without you ever even saying thank you,
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: he got through He got you through it anyway. That's
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: that thing called grace. Now we kind of need that
• 7:40
  Speaker 1: in our life. All ill all I need is a
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: little more grace. You can't give God no money for grace, man.
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: Grace is absolutely free. It's available to everybody, but you
• 7:53
  Speaker 1: can't get none if you quit. Don't give up. I'll
• 7:55
  Speaker 1: just tell you that flat out. Don't ever give up.
