Latest / FPL Pod / S3 Ep9: Off The Bench: Haaland Triple Captain struggle
Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:19Speaker 1: the Premier League.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'm Lee from FPR family and from black Box.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Well as it was a big week in FPL for
- 0:26Speaker 1: the Triple Captain Chip, with over three hundred thousand FPR
- 0:30Speaker 1: managers hitting the button this week and the vast majority
- 0:33Speaker 1: I expect giving it to cities earl in Harland at
- 0:36Speaker 1: home to Southampton. More on him a bit later on,
- 0:40Speaker 1: but again we gaverage of fifty four. It was a
- 0:42Speaker 1: small red arrow for me. I have to say it
- 0:44Speaker 1: wasn't a brilliant game week, but I didn't play the chip.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I didn't play the Triple Captain, so I kind of
- 0:49Speaker 1: feel okay with it, and I feel like I might
- 0:51Speaker 1: have got away with it actually given the amount of
- 0:53Speaker 1: chances to Harland have.
- 0:54Speaker 2: But more on that later on. How did you get
- 0:55Speaker 2: on Small Green, Small Red? How was the game week? Yeah?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Complete opposite to you, Lee, which is lovely to be
- 0:59Speaker 2: doing this podcast with you. I did play the Triple
- 1:02Speaker 2: Captain ship. I was one of those three hundred thousands
- 1:05Speaker 2: field bellag is playing it. Yeah, we will talk about Harland.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Unbelievable to only get six points from Harland's in that game.
- 1:12Speaker 2: And then it was yesterday was just the day from hell. Really,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I'm not going to a lanky Garnat show, you know,
- 1:21Speaker 2: both blanking Sala scoring, Palmer scoring. Don't have either of
- 1:25Speaker 2: those in my team. Yeah, and then the rest of
- 1:28Speaker 2: the week was pretty awful as well. You know, I
- 1:30Speaker 2: had Foden along, I mean three band City players going
- 1:33Speaker 2: into that game. Got the goal and the and the
- 1:36Speaker 2: clean sheet from from Lewis, but nothing from Foden really disappointing.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Nothing from my Villa players Watkins and Rogers. Yeah, fifty
- 1:44Speaker 2: one points, but trible captain played and a pretty big
- 1:46Speaker 2: red arrow, so disappointing all around.
- 1:49Speaker 1: All right, Well, I'll try and cheer you up in
- 1:51Speaker 1: somewhat pass and maybe we'll talk about we can't talk
- 1:55Speaker 1: about Brighton, we'll do that later. Fifty one points for
- 1:58Speaker 1: me as well, so yeah, same score as you know,
- 2:01Speaker 1: No chip played. Littered with ones and twos across my team,
- 2:04Speaker 1: a lot of ones actually, Fleckin, who I thought was
- 2:06Speaker 1: nailed on for the clean sheet at home to Ipswich.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure Brentford are never going to keep a
- 2:10Speaker 1: clean sheet.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's mad how.
- 2:12Speaker 1: They conceded a couple of goals to wipswitch quite so easily.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Gabrielle and Trent at the back. I wasn't expecting too
- 2:17Speaker 1: much on those guys coming up against each other, so
- 2:20Speaker 1: one for each of those and now got a bit
- 2:22Speaker 1: of a problem with Gabrielle potentially injured going into the
- 2:25Speaker 1: next couple of game weeks and more on that later
- 2:26Speaker 1: on two. But the big kitches did all right, so
- 2:29Speaker 1: Sakka coming in I kept him for the last couple
- 2:31Speaker 1: of weeks, came in with the nine. Didn't even though
- 2:32Speaker 1: that was a bittersweet moment for me against my team
- 2:35Speaker 1: Brian and Bremo in with the fifteen.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I mean, what value.
- 2:38Speaker 1: We're getting from Brian and Memo in FPL bought him
- 2:41Speaker 1: in a few weeks ago, tucking away the penalty here
- 2:43Speaker 1: or there, chipping in the last minute a fifteen pointer
- 2:46Speaker 1: for a Bremo this week definitely the star of the show.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And then Harland up top just Captaincy just with the twelve,
- 2:52Speaker 1: with the not with anymore. So yeah, all in all,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it was an OK week, I think a little bit
- 2:58Speaker 1: underpart if anything, had Ryan Ate Nori on my bench,
- 3:01Speaker 1: which stunk a little bit, say, but got him in
- 3:04Speaker 1: place now for a decent run for Wolves coming up,
- 3:07Speaker 1: So fifty one points, no triple captain Chip played. It
- 3:10Speaker 1: was all right, It was alright. But I think, as
- 3:13Speaker 1: without wanting to drag you down into the emotional maya
- 3:15Speaker 1: too much more. We have to start, don't we with
- 3:18Speaker 1: this game week's biggest talking point. We have to talk
- 3:21Speaker 1: about the big Man. We have to talk about the
- 3:23Speaker 1: three hundred thousand FPR managers that played the triple captain
- 3:26Speaker 1: Chip on the big Norwegian at Manchester City. How on
- 3:30Speaker 1: earth did he not get more than one goal? And
- 3:33Speaker 1: I have to say, as a non triple captainer after
- 3:35Speaker 1: five minutes or so when he got that goal, I
- 3:37Speaker 1: was shifting very uncomfortably in my seat, very very uncomfortable.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I thought, here we go.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The hat tricks on its way, and perhaps it should
- 3:45Speaker 1: have been given the underline numbers and the exgu statistics.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But how did you feel, as a triple captain of
- 3:49Speaker 1: coming out of that game? Deeply peaply unlucky.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Well, you know, I've had some successes with the triple
- 3:55Speaker 2: captain Chip, I've had some failures over the years, you know,
- 3:59Speaker 2: And when Harland scores after five minutes, you think this
- 4:02Speaker 2: is going to be Yeah, this is going to be great.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And I've seen Southampton play this this season. I thought
- 4:06Speaker 2: they were really disappointing, poor at the back. That's why
- 4:09Speaker 2: that's why I went for it. Yeah, and obviously we
- 4:12Speaker 2: don't get the three pm games in the UK, but
- 4:14Speaker 2: I was listening to it on the on Soccer Saturday
- 4:17Speaker 2: and it was just chance for Harland, chance for Harlan
- 4:20Speaker 2: O one and missed from Harland, big chance, miss from
- 4:22Speaker 2: haland it was it was just relentless And yeah, I've
- 4:27Speaker 2: since seen the highlights and some of the misses. I
- 4:30Speaker 2: mean that one, that one at the far post that
- 4:33Speaker 2: he puts wide, I can't. I just cannot believe he's
- 4:36Speaker 2: he's missed that. And you look at the goal he
- 4:38Speaker 2: scored as well, the goal he scored and the goal
- 4:40Speaker 2: is scored in the Champions League. These are such difficult chances,
- 4:43Speaker 2: like he's falling over for the first goal and then
- 4:48Speaker 2: he's missing tappings at the at the far post. Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 2: like I said, I'm going to keep saying, keeps like
- 4:54Speaker 2: I've never seen anything like it. But this game week
- 4:56Speaker 2: I think will go down in my kind of folklore
- 4:59Speaker 2: of because I genuinely feel like this could have been
- 5:02Speaker 2: one of my biggest weeks ever. And as we touch
- 5:04Speaker 2: through the matches, you just hear me complain about various
- 5:07Speaker 2: points I've managed to dodge. But yeah, two point three
- 5:10Speaker 2: three XG. It was the biggest underperformance of the week,
- 5:13Speaker 2: you know, minus one point three. That's more than most
- 5:16Speaker 2: players get in terms of XG a match. And that's
- 5:20Speaker 2: just in terms of the underperformance. Eight shots, four big chances.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, listen, well, I'm going to read out a
- 5:28Speaker 1: couple more stats. Eight shots, four big chances. You only
- 5:31Speaker 1: ever got better XG than that two point three three
- 5:35Speaker 1: you mentioned once in his City career, So that's his
- 5:38Speaker 1: second best XG performance ever in the City shirt and
- 5:41Speaker 1: only one goal to show for it. It was a
- 5:44Speaker 1: massive bullet dodged by us that didn't triple captain him,
- 5:47Speaker 1: no doubt about it, no doubt about it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And the supporting cast were also pretty good.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Savino with five chances created an XGI and expected goal
- 5:55Speaker 1: involvement of point ninety four, so I thought he was
- 5:58Speaker 1: very very good on that wing, and many FBO managers
- 6:01Speaker 1: brought him in. There was quite a lot of soccer
- 6:03Speaker 1: to Foden movement over not just this week, but the
- 6:06Speaker 1: week before, five chances created for Foden, an XGI and
- 6:09Speaker 1: expected goal involvement of Nero point nine zero, so again,
- 6:13Speaker 1: definitely should have had something out of that game. Foden
- 6:17Speaker 1: and Vardi Old as well. More touches in the final
- 6:19Speaker 1: third than any other Premier League player this season. Wow
- 6:23Speaker 1: as a defender for guardiole Which I had to check
- 6:25Speaker 1: that stat when I saw it in the notes, but
- 6:26Speaker 1: it is true, more touches in the final third than
- 6:29Speaker 1: any other Premier League player and an xt GI I
- 6:31Speaker 1: have zero point two to three with three chances created
- 6:33Speaker 1: this weekend. So the supporting cast around Harland, I mean,
- 6:37Speaker 1: it's a miracle.
- 6:38Speaker 2: This game was only one Nils.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I don't know how much more we can say about it,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but as a Foden owner you've got to be a
- 6:43Speaker 1: bit disappointed with that as well, right, an next Gi
- 6:45Speaker 1: zero point nine, He should have had.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Something out of this game. Well, you know, I sold
- 6:48Speaker 2: Soaker to Foden last week and the idea was obviously
- 6:51Speaker 2: Saker didn't play in that game last time out and
- 6:54Speaker 2: was a doubt going into this one as well for Liverpool,
- 6:57Speaker 2: and he's come away with it with more points than
- 7:00Speaker 2: Foden who had wolves in Southampton, and it's you know,
- 7:04Speaker 2: it's just classic. It's just classic. If pel isn't it.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Plus I've used a transfer and I'm probably going to
- 7:08Speaker 2: want to get Saker back. I was really impressed with
- 7:10Speaker 2: Foden though generally, like watching the highlights, he looks very involved. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 2: driving forward, he's on set pieces, he's creating chances. I
- 7:17Speaker 2: thought Savina was excellent and I think they need to
- 7:19Speaker 2: get in play more regularly on the right wing because
- 7:21Speaker 2: he's giving them something a bit a bit different. And yeah,
- 7:25Speaker 2: I've got Rico Lewis. I thought, you know, for the
- 7:26Speaker 2: for the money saved between Lewis at four point seven
- 7:29Speaker 2: and gag Were at nearly six, it would kind of
- 7:32Speaker 2: be worth it. But looking at hearing that stat from
- 7:34Speaker 2: you and watching him play, I think Vardil is an
- 7:37Speaker 2: absolutely brilliant asset going forward. So it is all about Harlan.
- 7:40Speaker 2: The team is still geared up to get those goals
- 7:42Speaker 2: from Harlowood, but it does start to feel now a
- 7:45Speaker 2: little bit like you can, you know, kind of not
- 7:47Speaker 2: cover him because you can't cover Harlan, but you know,
- 7:49Speaker 2: go there's other city assets that could present some alternatives
- 7:53Speaker 2: if you are looking to move off him and spread
- 7:54Speaker 2: as funds around.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So he's a question and I don't want to go
- 7:57Speaker 1: off on too much of a Harlan tangent, although this
- 7:59Speaker 1: game we sort of feels like it's it's worth going
- 8:01Speaker 1: off on that Harland tangent. Bournouth Away, bright And Away next,
- 8:05Speaker 1: and then Spurs and Liverpool. The next four are let's
- 8:08Speaker 1: say mixed. Let's say, let's be Jeness saying mixed for
- 8:11Speaker 1: Harland and Manchester City at a time when you know
- 8:14Speaker 1: Sacker's coming back. As you rightly say, the Chelsea fixtures
- 8:17Speaker 1: include a trip to Manchester United and Leicester. Sala's got
- 8:20Speaker 1: Brighton at home, Aston Villa at home, Southampton away in
- 8:23Speaker 1: the next three. It's Harland to sell, he says, very tentatively.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I mean you can spread those funds, can't you. We're
- 8:30Speaker 1: going to talk about some more budget strikers in a minute,
- 8:33Speaker 1: because the budget striker bracket is performing very very well
- 8:35Speaker 1: for us so far this year in FPL. But no,
- 8:38Speaker 1: it's Harland has selled or are you're keeping him? You're
- 8:40Speaker 1: holding firm.
- 8:41Speaker 2: But if Harland puts away his four big chances, we're
- 8:43Speaker 2: not even having this conversation which is it? Yeah, so
- 8:47Speaker 2: the question is do you think it was?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Didn't know?
- 8:49Speaker 2: Is the point? Is the point? And in the previous
- 8:52Speaker 2: couple of game weeks he's blanked again, right, so one
- 8:53Speaker 2: goal and what's that three? Now? I know? But at
- 8:56Speaker 2: least with this, I mean, the underlying status of the
- 8:58Speaker 2: last few games have been really poor for Harlan. He's
- 9:00Speaker 2: looks isolated, he hasn't been involved in the game. Watching
- 9:03Speaker 2: the highlights has been you know, frustrating because he hasn't
- 9:06Speaker 2: been and he's looked frustrated. Whereas at least with this
- 9:09Speaker 2: game he could have come away from it with a
- 9:11Speaker 2: big haul. So I can see why people are selling.
- 9:14Speaker 2: And I think the move to Salah does look attractive
- 9:16Speaker 2: because Salah looks absolutely unbelievable at the moment and obviously
- 9:20Speaker 2: the fixture to have maybe a bit better and then
- 9:21Speaker 2: you've got a bit more money to spread around. But
- 9:24Speaker 2: it's a captaincy really, isn't it. I mean, who else
- 9:25Speaker 2: do you if you haven't If you're not going for Salah,
- 9:27Speaker 2: are you going to go for Palma with Man United
- 9:31Speaker 2: and Arsenal? Next? Is is it Saka? You go for
- 9:34Speaker 2: it though it's Newcastle and Chelsea. These aren't the best games.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It's not like they're playing your Leicester's, your Rip switches
- 9:40Speaker 2: those teams. So I'm still happy to stick with Harland
- 9:43Speaker 2: for the next couple I probably I might reassess around
- 9:45Speaker 2: the time of that Liverpool match in a couple of weeks,
- 9:48Speaker 2: but but for now I'm keeping Yeah. I think you
- 9:50Speaker 2: mentioned Sala, let's go there.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Then that probably the biggest game on paper, let's say,
- 9:54Speaker 1: of the weekend, Arsenal versus Liverpool at the Emirates on
- 9:57Speaker 1: Sunday night. Pretty happy I think as a Liverpool fans
- 10:00Speaker 1: to come away from that with a two to two draw,
- 10:02Speaker 1: particularly as we played in the Champions League away from
- 10:05Speaker 1: home against Leipzig in Germany in the build up to
- 10:08Speaker 1: this game, and then you know, to go a goal
- 10:11Speaker 1: down and then to go too one down, to show
- 10:12Speaker 1: a bit of character to come back to two to
- 10:14Speaker 1: two really really good. I want to talk about a
- 10:16Speaker 1: few FPL assets from Liverpool. First, we're a lot of
- 10:20Speaker 1: FPL managers looking at Trent and saying, well, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: he takes the corners and everything else great, you know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: and at any given moment, in any given game, he
- 10:27Speaker 1: can come up with a you know, the Trent double
- 10:29Speaker 1: digit hall is only you know, an assist and a
- 10:32Speaker 1: couple of bonus points around the corner of Liverpool keeping
- 10:34Speaker 1: clean sheets.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But I can I can sense a little bit of discontent.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Discontent is a good word. Yeah, I was trying to
- 10:41Speaker 2: think of the right way, but you're right.
- 10:42Speaker 1: A bit of discontent the fl community with Trent simply
- 10:45Speaker 1: because of his price, isn't it. You know, we expect
- 10:47Speaker 1: almost an assist every week and if you look at
- 10:48Speaker 1: his history in FPL, you'd be right to kind of
- 10:51Speaker 1: expect that. A worry for you have you got him
- 10:53Speaker 1: in your team?
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think it is starting to become
- 10:56Speaker 2: a bit of a concern. I mean it's one attacking
- 10:59Speaker 2: return and all season for Liverpool. I mean what he
- 11:03Speaker 2: is carrying Trent and Liverpool generally is the defensive numbers
- 11:06Speaker 2: and the fact that they are stisically the best defense
- 11:09Speaker 2: in the league. I know they just continued two goals,
- 11:10Speaker 2: but going into this game they were kind of, you know,
- 11:12Speaker 2: by by some margin of the best defense, most clean
- 11:15Speaker 2: sheets and then good underlying numbers. So he's relying on
- 11:18Speaker 2: clean sheets. Is it enough for a seven million defender
- 11:21Speaker 2: just to be relying on clean sheets. Not really. There's
- 11:24Speaker 2: been some games where he's been drifting into midfield and
- 11:27Speaker 2: playing really well and you know, spreading the ball around,
- 11:29Speaker 2: but not really getting into those danger areas where you
- 11:32Speaker 2: want to see him play. You know, when he was
- 11:33Speaker 2: just an out and out right back and he's putting
- 11:35Speaker 2: crosses in from the right wing, that's almost better than
- 11:37Speaker 2: when he's playing centrally and in that kind of bit
- 11:39Speaker 2: of a bit of a deeper role. I think with
- 11:42Speaker 2: the way the premiums are hitting form now, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 2: with Palmer, Saka and Harland potentially in Salah as well.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I mean, if Foden starts to hit some form two,
- 11:52Speaker 2: we're going to be looking at at Trent and thinking
- 11:55Speaker 2: is he easy worth and money? So I mean I'm
- 11:57Speaker 2: looking at I'm looking at my defense. I've got Gabrielle,
- 11:59Speaker 2: Raya and Trent and I'm thinking, actually, this is a
- 12:02Speaker 2: lot of money to be spending on these defenses exactly
- 12:05Speaker 2: when they're not when they're not reaching the clean cheese
- 12:07Speaker 2: and obviously the attacking turns out there. So yeah, I mean,
- 12:09Speaker 2: you're the Liverpool fan, what have you made of Trent's performances?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Are you You've got him, right.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I have got him. Yeah, I have got him. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: like you, I think this content is exactly the right word.
- 12:17Speaker 1: But again with you know, Brighton and Villa at home
- 12:19Speaker 1: up next and then a trip to Southampton, you're not
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm not going to sell him ahead of those three.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I mean there's definitely he says, you know, one or
- 12:26Speaker 1: two clean sheets in there. I would say, Trent, Yeah,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I know, right, yeah, clip that bit. The one thing
- 12:33Speaker 1: I will say about Trent, and we noticed it specifically
- 12:35Speaker 1: in this game, and I've noticed in the last couple
- 12:37Speaker 1: of weeks, is that he takes a lot of corners. Obviously,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I think you're sharing quite a lot of them with Robertson,
- 12:40Speaker 1: which you know, in terms of the underlying BPS and
- 12:43Speaker 1: the chance creation. Obviously he goes down a little bit
- 12:46Speaker 1: there because of that shared corner duty with Robo.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Likes to hit the first man.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't know if there's something that Liverpool has been
- 12:51Speaker 1: working on with their set piece coach this season under Slot,
- 12:54Speaker 1: but he always kind of looks for the first man
- 12:55Speaker 1: and it worked this week right because he hits the
- 12:57Speaker 1: ass Das gets the assist a flicked header for Van
- 13:00Speaker 1: Dyke's goal at the first Liverpool goal. But if that's
- 13:03Speaker 1: going to continue to happen and Trent's going to always
- 13:05Speaker 1: look for that kind of like first man that flick on,
- 13:07Speaker 1: They're not going to get many assists from corners. It's
- 13:09Speaker 1: going to be the Das or it's going to be
- 13:10Speaker 1: whoever it is that gets to flick on gets the
- 13:12Speaker 1: assist at the other end of the pitch. Though, I'm
- 13:14Speaker 1: kind of interested in your opinion on this kind of
- 13:17Speaker 1: Jota versus nu Nez thing. I'm kind of I've always
- 13:20Speaker 1: been a little bit bias, certainly this season. Whenever Sam
- 13:22Speaker 1: and I talk on our FPR family live streams, I've
- 13:24Speaker 1: always been talking about the fact that Jotta does the
- 13:26Speaker 1: donkey work. He presses like mad, he drops quite deep,
- 13:30Speaker 1: and when new net has come on in previous game weeks,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I've often thought it's kind of looked okay, but it
- 13:35Speaker 1: doesn't really do the work. He doesn't put the shift
- 13:37Speaker 1: in that maybe Jotter does. But in the last couple
- 13:40Speaker 1: of weeks, I think new Nez is a different man.
- 13:42Speaker 1: By the way, I think he's a different man. I
- 13:44Speaker 1: think he's not had the kind of high x G
- 13:48Speaker 1: over the last last couple of weeks that we'd expect.
- 13:50Speaker 1: In fact, he's pay two hundred and eighty minutes this season,
- 13:52Speaker 1: only four shots in that two hundred and eighty minutes
- 13:55Speaker 1: with an next gy of zero point six. So we're
- 13:58Speaker 1: not seeing that kind of on site mentality that maybe
- 14:02Speaker 1: we used to from Nunez.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And what I like.
- 14:04Speaker 1: About that, and I'm not probably not going to sit
- 14:07Speaker 1: here and suggests that you all rush out and get
- 14:08Speaker 1: Nunez in u FPL teams, but what I like about
- 14:11Speaker 1: that is that jot us out for a few more weeks,
- 14:13Speaker 1: which it looks like he might do with that rib injury.
- 14:15Speaker 1: We've got to keep an eye on the press conferences
- 14:16Speaker 1: and when he comes back. But if no Nez is
- 14:19Speaker 1: going to play over these next three games, this Brighton
- 14:21Speaker 1: Villa Suthampton run that I mentioned before, I think that
- 14:24Speaker 1: is a brilliant I think that's brilliant for Salah. I
- 14:26Speaker 1: think it's so good for Salah. And we saw Salah
- 14:29Speaker 1: kind of being very patient, being very disciplined in this
- 14:31Speaker 1: game against Arsenal. So when Timber went off injured and
- 14:35Speaker 1: Miles Lewis Kelly comes on, Salah was biding his time.
- 14:38Speaker 1: He knew the right opportunity to pick up that pass
- 14:41Speaker 1: from Trent and to make that run inside and new
- 14:44Speaker 1: Nez finds him exactly at the right time. Three bonus
- 14:47Speaker 1: points for Salah gets to go. I just feel like
- 14:49Speaker 1: he's very disciplined nowadays. This season, he rarely gets shots wrong,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and he's he doesn't lose the ball when he's carrying
- 14:56Speaker 1: it either, So that kind of underlying baseime we've seen
- 14:59Speaker 1: in previous season Salag it's the goal, but maybe one
- 15:01Speaker 1: bonus point, maybe a maximum two because he has a
- 15:03Speaker 1: lot of shots, maybe some off target. I don't think
- 15:06Speaker 1: we're seeing that sort of Mo Salah this season. I
- 15:08Speaker 1: think we're seeing a far more clinical Most Salah. And
- 15:10Speaker 1: I think with Nunez there supporting him in the way
- 15:14Speaker 1: that I just mentioned, you know, not being wasteful in
- 15:16Speaker 1: front of go instead of getting his head up and
- 15:17Speaker 1: looking for Most Salah. I think they're both good options
- 15:20Speaker 1: for the next few weeks. But I think Most Salah
- 15:22Speaker 1: for the next few weeks looks brilliant. And I want
- 15:24Speaker 1: to link it back to that conversation we just had
- 15:26Speaker 1: about selling Harlan potentially to funder move for Salah in
- 15:30Speaker 1: the next few weeks, because I think he's captainable.
- 15:32Speaker 2: What do you think? Yeah, I mean you mentioned discipline
- 15:34Speaker 2: and that is Liverpool genuinely, isn't it. They're much more
- 15:36Speaker 2: disciplined all over the pitch compared to how they were
- 15:38Speaker 2: probably under Clop And it was very fun watching them
- 15:41Speaker 2: under Clop because they always had that bit of you know,
- 15:44Speaker 2: Carlage in them. But if you can rain in Darwin Nunez,
- 15:46Speaker 2: who was literally the epitome of chaos, and you can
- 15:49Speaker 2: absolutely you're describing Darwin Nunez as a more disciplined player.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I mean, Slot deserves credit just for that, it's right, right,
- 15:58Speaker 2: but I agree, and you know you see it with
- 16:00Speaker 2: some players when you know he's not been playing that much.
- 16:02Speaker 2: He's obviously now second choice to Jotta. They get a
- 16:05Speaker 2: running the team and you know, desperate to make a mark.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So you'd almost expect him, you know, to shoot on site,
- 16:09Speaker 2: try and get a goal, try and make that team.
- 16:12Speaker 2: But he's, you know, the team player and the work
- 16:14Speaker 2: ethic that he's got I think has really shone through
- 16:16Speaker 2: in the starts that he's had recently. I'm guilty of it,
- 16:20Speaker 2: kind of underestimating Mohammed Salah, you know, every year and
- 16:25Speaker 2: this is six double digit returns in nine games. Yeah,
- 16:28Speaker 2: I've not had.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Him at all this season, and as a Liverpool fan,
- 16:32Speaker 1: that's I'm disappointed in myself.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I have to say I've had him for two points
- 16:37Speaker 2: and six points and then started and then yeah, so
- 16:41Speaker 2: I've only to have him for two of his three
- 16:43Speaker 2: non doule digitals, which is a which is excellent. But yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 2: I think you know, last season we saw him maybe
- 16:49Speaker 2: playing a bit bit wide and he had good spells
- 16:51Speaker 2: last season, but I went into this season thinking this,
- 16:54Speaker 2: this isn't someone who necessarily is going to be as
- 16:57Speaker 2: big a factor in our seasons as he has been
- 16:59Speaker 2: last year. I do think we've got to start thinking
- 17:02Speaker 2: that perhaps perhaps he is now and maybe I'm a
- 17:05Speaker 2: bit later to the party. But with the fixtures on
- 17:07Speaker 2: the rise, in the two home games coming up, you know,
- 17:10Speaker 2: then it's Southampton in game week twelve as well. That's good,
- 17:13Speaker 2: doesn't it. Yeah, it looks really good. And I do
- 17:15Speaker 2: think that selling Harland is a is an option. Whereas
- 17:20Speaker 2: you know, three or four weeks ago as and there's
- 17:21Speaker 2: no way we were saying.
- 17:22Speaker 1: That, Yeah twelve is an interesting week, isn't I don't
- 17:25Speaker 1: look too far ahead. But City have got Spurs at home.
- 17:28Speaker 1: But you're right, you know, Liverpool way to Southampton. You've
- 17:30Speaker 1: got Palmer away at Leicester as well. So game week
- 17:33Speaker 1: twelve is definitely going to be one that a lot
- 17:35Speaker 1: of FBO managers that still got their wildcard.
- 17:38Speaker 2: That's definitely a potential game week for wildcards that still
- 17:42Speaker 2: got it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But anyway, more on that in another episode, and let's
- 17:45Speaker 1: move to Palmer. Let's talk about Chelsea versus Newcastle. Seventeen
- 17:49Speaker 1: attempts for Chelsea, twelve of which in the box. But
- 17:52Speaker 1: we have to, you know, we have to talk about
- 17:53Speaker 1: col I thought he was unplayable at times, so so
- 17:56Speaker 1: good and he won't get any FPL points for that
- 17:59Speaker 1: first goal. It was a netto assist to Jackson. But
- 18:02Speaker 1: let me tell you if you're I did not see
- 18:04Speaker 1: a better pass, a better assist of the assist than
- 18:07Speaker 1: that passed from Cole Palmer to Pedro Netto for that
- 18:10Speaker 1: first goal over the course of the weekend. Absolutely incredible
- 18:13Speaker 1: pass inside the fullback. Yeah, what's more to say about
- 18:17Speaker 1: Carle Palmer the way he took the goal as well,
- 18:19Speaker 1: exuding confidence, you know more, and Newcastle on a second
- 18:22Speaker 1: because that's now five without a win for them, so
- 18:24Speaker 1: we do need to talk about them as a team
- 18:25Speaker 1: to potentially target. But Chelsea and Palmer looking very good,
- 18:29Speaker 1: certainly attacking wise. Yeah, I mean that the pass you say,
- 18:33Speaker 1: you know, a better pass of the weekend. I don't
- 18:35Speaker 1: remember too many better passes ever, you know, I'm putting
- 18:40Speaker 1: it up there as one of them. The way he
- 18:42Speaker 1: gets the ball, has the awareness to spot the run,
- 18:45Speaker 1: turns and then manages to pick the ball out was unbelieved.
- 18:48Speaker 2: People really get his head up as he just knows
- 18:51Speaker 2: that making that run instincts and it's from a player
- 18:55Speaker 2: who you know hasn't necessarily played that much with it'show
- 18:59Speaker 2: starting on that side. So it's not like you know
- 19:01Speaker 2: the de Bruyn Harland, you know, you know that run
- 19:03Speaker 2: is going to be made. It's yeah, it's it's an
- 19:05Speaker 2: It's unbelievable. The thing is, I watched that game and
- 19:07Speaker 2: in terms of pure fpl points, in terms of pure threat,
- 19:10Speaker 2: I thought Palmer was was maybe on the fringes of
- 19:13Speaker 2: a lot of their their moves and their big chances.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You know, Jackson Madaway k had a few chances. Neto
- 19:18Speaker 2: I thought played played really well. And Palmer was kind
- 19:21Speaker 2: of pulling the strings in maybe a slightly more more
- 19:23Speaker 2: deeper role then and then moved over to the to
- 19:26Speaker 2: the left. I mean this is that there's been one
- 19:29Speaker 2: game this season where he's had next give over one,
- 19:31Speaker 2: which was obviously that Brighton game where he went absolutely bananas.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Five out of the nine games his next guy less
- 19:38Speaker 2: than zero point five. So you'd maybe suggest that his
- 19:41Speaker 2: return to a mad start, isn't it. Yeah, he's maybe
- 19:43Speaker 2: just that it'st I mean, I'm not going to suggest
- 19:45Speaker 2: that his returned to be a bit lucky. I'm going
- 19:47Speaker 2: to completely go back on that because it's not. Because
- 19:49Speaker 2: he's an absolutely elite player and you know, you have
- 19:51Speaker 2: to take it with a pinch of salt. But in
- 19:53Speaker 2: terms of pure stats, the numbers wouldn't terrify me if
- 19:56Speaker 2: you were looking at them just just like that. But
- 19:58Speaker 2: when you watch the games and you see him play,
- 20:00Speaker 2: it's really hard to justify going going without him because
- 20:04Speaker 2: he's reaching a level now which which has to put
- 20:07Speaker 2: him in the in the top bracket of players that
- 20:09Speaker 2: we've seen in the Premier League, and with no Champions
- 20:13Speaker 2: League and obviously not playing in Europe, not even in
- 20:15Speaker 2: the squad. He's going to play the majority of minutes.
- 20:18Speaker 2: He's Yeah, if you haven't got him now, like I
- 20:20Speaker 2: haven't game week twelve, you've got to be making plans.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the fixtures from twelf a Partmer look on real
- 20:26Speaker 1: and I agree with you. He pops up, doesn't he.
- 20:28Speaker 1: It's just like you take your off in for a
- 20:29Speaker 1: moment and he's come deep to receive the ball. You
- 20:31Speaker 1: blink and he's bombing down the right hand side, doubling
- 20:35Speaker 1: up with a Madawaki or somebody, and you blink again
- 20:37Speaker 1: and he's in the box, you know, scoring goals where
- 20:39Speaker 1: he's driving.
- 20:40Speaker 2: At the back four And what is Pope doing for that? Well,
- 20:44Speaker 2: that's true, that's true.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I didn't think he covered himself in glory, that I
- 20:47Speaker 1: have to say, but he's Therein lies an interesting point,
- 20:50Speaker 1: Palmer's starting to get a little bit of the fear factor.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I think defenders are starting to drop off a little bit. Yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: you know, defenses start to sort of like backtrack when
- 20:58Speaker 1: he gets the ball and there's there's player that I
- 21:00Speaker 1: think is if he didn't have it before, has definitely got,
- 21:03Speaker 1: like I say, the fear factor. Manchester United away up next,
- 21:06Speaker 1: which on paper obviously is a difficult game, but I
- 21:08Speaker 1: don't think it's too much that you know, the west
- 21:10Speaker 1: Ham found of two, there wasn't too much for Manchester
- 21:12Speaker 1: United to get excited about this weekend, so Palmer can
- 21:15Speaker 1: definitely score in that game. Arsenal home in eleven difficult,
- 21:18Speaker 1: but we think potentially some defensive issues with Gabrielle maybe
- 21:21Speaker 1: out injured for a little while. We've got to obviously
- 21:23Speaker 1: wait to see on that. They obviously have Saliba back
- 21:24Speaker 1: from his ban. But then, like you say, from twelve onwards,
- 21:26Speaker 1: absolutely incredible run of fixtures for Palmer, so he's going
- 21:29Speaker 1: to be on radar.
- 21:30Speaker 2: You did mention Netto there for a second. Five attempts,
- 21:32Speaker 2: three chances created. Yep. Could he be an alternative to
- 21:35Speaker 2: Palmer or is Palmer's worth the extra No? Right, Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 2: I mean I'd probably be looking at Jackson if I
- 21:40Speaker 2: was looking at someone other than other than Palmers, because
- 21:42Speaker 2: you feel like he's got that kind of striker spot
- 21:44Speaker 2: nailed down obvious. Netta came in for Sancho. I thought
- 21:47Speaker 2: he was excellent in this game, and we've had Netto
- 21:50Speaker 2: and left Peel teams over the last few years. He's
- 21:52Speaker 2: an absolutely fantastic player and the whole Chelsea team is.
- 21:55Speaker 2: And that's what I like about this new MORESCA look
- 21:58Speaker 2: Chelsea is that we I think we'd do have options
- 22:00Speaker 2: kind of kind of elsewhere was he madaway had got
- 22:03Speaker 2: that hat trick and then hasn't really done anything anything since.
- 22:05Speaker 2: But look threatening again, I wouldn't be going anywhere in
- 22:09Speaker 2: the midfield other than Palmer. I don't think minefield, isn't it. Yeah, perspective,
- 22:14Speaker 2: it's difficult to know. Yeah, I'd be a bit too
- 22:16Speaker 2: worried that the I think Neto has done enough now
- 22:18Speaker 2: to keep that place for a little bit longer. But
- 22:20Speaker 2: I think we said that about Sancho a few weeks ago.
- 22:22Speaker 2: We thought he was playing well, it looked good, and
- 22:24Speaker 2: now suddenly he's dropped, so it can change very quickly.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right. And just a word, I
- 22:28Speaker 1: have mentioned it a second ago. That's five now without
- 22:30Speaker 1: a win for Newcastle, so there will have been a
- 22:32Speaker 1: lot of FPR managers selling soccer before that Liverpool game
- 22:36Speaker 1: thinking well, you know, he's got Newcastle away after that,
- 22:38Speaker 1: which on paper looks difficult, and of course it is.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You know, a trip to Saint James's. It's difficult in
- 22:42Speaker 1: the best of times, but you know, I fancy if
- 22:44Speaker 1: you know I've got Soccer in my team. There's no
- 22:46Speaker 1: way I'm going to sell him before Newcastle away when
- 22:48Speaker 1: the Newcastle haven't won in five and the back four
- 22:51Speaker 1: in particular looks a little bit shaky, a bit lacking
- 22:54Speaker 1: in the pace department, and someone like Soccer who roasted
- 22:56Speaker 1: Robertson didn't it for that first goal at the weekend
- 22:59Speaker 1: you could see that happening again up at Saint James's.
- 23:02Speaker 1: So a team to target Newcastle is it's a bit
- 23:05Speaker 1: of a blip. You expect them to turn it around.
- 23:07Speaker 2: They feel like they've they've they've gone back a few steps,
- 23:09Speaker 2: don't they from where they were a few seas ago.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I think we saw a few signs of it last year,
- 23:14Speaker 2: you know, when they went on a bit of a
- 23:16Speaker 2: bad run. But I thought this year they might start
- 23:17Speaker 2: to pick up a bit. But yeah, I completely agree.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I don't like that back for at all. You know,
- 23:22Speaker 2: Livramento is obviously a very good player, but if you
- 23:24Speaker 2: haven't got the protection of good center backs helping you out,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and Lewis Hall on the left is good going forward
- 23:30Speaker 2: but maybe a little bit suspect defensively. And then you've
- 23:33Speaker 2: got a goalkeeper who you know, on his day is
- 23:35Speaker 2: one of the best goalkeepers in the league, but I
- 23:37Speaker 2: don't think has had a particularly great start to the
- 23:39Speaker 2: season this year either. So yeah, I think I don't
- 23:42Speaker 2: think you're going to be whereas you know, going to
- 23:44Speaker 2: James' Park in previous years, you'd be thinking, you know,
- 23:47Speaker 2: this is a really, really tough game. They'll give them
- 23:49Speaker 2: a game, but there'll be chances for Arsenal. I've got
- 23:51Speaker 2: no doubt. Yeah, I agree. I agree.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Well, you know, I've tried to cheer you up over
- 23:54Speaker 1: the last twenty minutes or so since the beginning of
- 23:56Speaker 1: the pod as, but we do at some stage you
- 23:58Speaker 1: have to talk about your team.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Do we have to this game week? Yeah, it was
- 24:03Speaker 2: looking so good.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It was looking so good up until the last sort
- 24:06Speaker 1: of five or six minutes and Wolves turned on the style,
- 24:10Speaker 1: didn't they. I'll hand the microphone over to you as
- 24:12Speaker 1: what happened.
- 24:13Speaker 2: What happenedly was you're in the ninety sixth minute of
- 24:17Speaker 2: the game, two on up and you have four on
- 24:19Speaker 2: one attack to see the game of Oh, I know
- 24:22Speaker 2: the moment you're thinking, oh what, Yeah, just take it
- 24:25Speaker 2: in the corner. Boys, take it in the corner, or
- 24:27Speaker 2: just don't hit it to Doyle. I think it was
- 24:31Speaker 2: not to do. Yeah, you don't hit it anywhere else
- 24:33Speaker 2: and you score, and then for him to get the
- 24:35Speaker 2: ball and just you know, play up the pitch and
- 24:38Speaker 2: then score from it again. I said it. I don't
- 24:41Speaker 2: think I've ever seen anything like I've never seen anything
- 24:44Speaker 2: like that, a four on one attack turned round to
- 24:47Speaker 2: conceding a ninety six minute equalizer. Yeah, it's really disappointing
- 24:51Speaker 2: because because Brighton, you know, Wolves had chances, and I
- 24:54Speaker 2: like Wolves as a team. I think, you know, I
- 24:56Speaker 2: think it's a shame where they are in the league.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I think they're going to start picking up points now
- 24:59Speaker 2: going forward. You know you talked about eight Norrie earlier.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I think Cooner as well is a great option if
- 25:04Speaker 2: you're looking for a new striker. Maybe not as good
- 25:07Speaker 2: as Daddy Welbeck considering the form he's in. But the
- 25:10Speaker 2: next two are rough. But Brighton did easily enough to
- 25:13Speaker 2: win that game, and Hertzler cool as naive and said
- 25:17Speaker 2: there's kind of things that need to change in mentality
- 25:19Speaker 2: wise to avoid that that happening, because yeah, control the
- 25:23Speaker 2: game has some decent chances of our own tuning up
- 25:25Speaker 2: at ninety minutes. You've got to see that out.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right. It's Liverpool and then Manchester
- 25:29Speaker 1: City up next to Brighton. So I don't think I'm
- 25:31Speaker 1: sorry mate, but I don't think we're going to be
- 25:33Speaker 1: heavily investing in the likes of Wellbeck or Ruter for
- 25:35Speaker 1: the next couple despite the fact that six for the
- 25:37Speaker 1: season for well Beck and made of a miraculous recovery
- 25:40Speaker 1: after his injury last time out, and that takes Ruter
- 25:43Speaker 1: by the way to five attacking returns in his last
- 25:45Speaker 1: four games. So yeah, certainly Brighton clicking. Am I being
- 25:48Speaker 1: a bit dismissive? They're Liverpool and City up next. I
- 25:51Speaker 1: mean there's.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Options there, there's options, But I don't think we're investing now. No,
- 25:55Speaker 2: I don't think you're going there. I think you know
- 25:57Speaker 2: they're both. They're both good options. Well Beck is a
- 26:00Speaker 2: difficult one because obviously there's so many good forwards around
- 26:02Speaker 2: his price point. You know, Chris Wood has got just
- 26:05Speaker 2: got two goals at Leicster, Jim Andez has got great
- 26:07Speaker 2: pictures kind of on the horizon. I mentioned Cooner as well.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I still I don't know. I still kind of look
- 26:13Speaker 2: at Welbeck and think he's not quite as good as
- 26:16Speaker 2: those those options, even though the points don't really seem
- 26:18Speaker 2: to kind of justify that. But Rottera is someone I'm
- 26:22Speaker 2: looking at, you know, one point two percent ownership. You
- 26:25Speaker 2: mentioned those attacking returns he's got. He seems to have
- 26:26Speaker 2: made that kind of ten role with visions beyond the
- 26:30Speaker 2: striker his own. I have to wait to see what
- 26:33Speaker 2: happens with Joe Pedro when he's back and where he plays,
- 26:35Speaker 2: but I've been really impressed with it with Rutter. We
- 26:38Speaker 2: paid big money for him too, and yeah, he's delivering.
- 26:41Speaker 2: So he's someone to look at again, I think in
- 26:43Speaker 2: a few weeks.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks good. And you mentioned kuna there in
- 26:46Speaker 1: the sort of budget forward bracket. We've mentioned a few
- 26:48Speaker 1: budget forwards already. Have we haven't talked about Chris Wood yet.
- 26:50Speaker 1: That's coming, folks, that's coming. But no, Kunia definitely in
- 26:54Speaker 1: a lot of people's thoughts. And so I think Ryan A.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Norri going into game week nine, I think there was
- 26:59Speaker 1: a few FPR managers that were looking at the Wolves
- 27:01Speaker 1: fixtures on the horizon and saying wow, look from ten
- 27:04Speaker 1: it's Palace in Southampton at home. Then it's Fulham away,
- 27:07Speaker 1: Bournemouth at home, Everton away. The next five look absolutely unreal,
- 27:12Speaker 1: so Brighton away, maybe I'll just skip that one and
- 27:14Speaker 1: then go into them from game week ten. But for
- 27:16Speaker 1: those that went for Ryan ah Nouri early or went
- 27:18Speaker 1: for Kunya early, you've got the rewards, you've got the rewards.
- 27:22Speaker 1: But from game week ten now, as this is the point,
- 27:24Speaker 1: right when the fixtures get absolutely unreal. Three of the
- 27:27Speaker 1: next four at home for Wolves, and they do seem
- 27:30Speaker 1: to be turning a little bit of a corner.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I think their positioning the league is a little bit
- 27:35Speaker 1: I want to say false, but they've had a very
- 27:37Speaker 1: very difficult start when you look at the fixtures from
- 27:39Speaker 1: game week one to even including the Brighton game, game
- 27:42Speaker 1: week one to nine, very very difficult fixtures. So yes,
- 27:45Speaker 1: there's a little bit of anxiety in the Wolves faithful
- 27:48Speaker 1: and I understand where the fans are coming from. But
- 27:50Speaker 1: I'm back in. I'm back in Gary O'Neal. He's a
- 27:53Speaker 1: top manager and they've got very very good players. I'm
- 27:55Speaker 1: backing them. To turn it around and over the next
- 27:56Speaker 1: five they've got the fixtures to do absolutely that. I
- 28:00Speaker 1: bought Ryan Eate Nourri in early in game week nine
- 28:03Speaker 1: to fund a move elsewhere actually, which we'll talk about
- 28:06Speaker 1: in just a second, and I benched him. I bench
- 28:08Speaker 1: Ryan eight Nory this week, which was a big mistake.
- 28:10Speaker 1: It looked like the right thing to do up until
- 28:11Speaker 1: about five or six minutes to go. But from now on,
- 28:14Speaker 1: I think for the next five weeks and onward actually,
- 28:16Speaker 1: because the Wolves fixtures look good outside, you know, even
- 28:18Speaker 1: beyond the next five is I've got to find a
- 28:21Speaker 1: space to put Ryan a Nori in my team. Five
- 28:23Speaker 1: attacking returns so far this season, which is more than
- 28:27Speaker 1: any other defender. He and Kunya definitely on the raidar
- 28:30Speaker 1: anybody else from Wolves that you're keen on.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Straton Larsen is the other one if you're looking to
- 28:34Speaker 2: save a bit of money at five five. He played
- 28:36Speaker 2: ninety against Brighton as well. We've seen a few games
- 28:39Speaker 2: before that in getting subbed early, but you know, at
- 28:41Speaker 2: least played the formulas. The problem with Wolves is they
- 28:44Speaker 2: con seed so many goals, so you are relying on
- 28:46Speaker 2: the attacking returns. I think You almost don't look at
- 28:48Speaker 2: eight Norri as a defender, you look at him as
- 28:50Speaker 2: a as another field. Teams don't know they've played good
- 28:53Speaker 2: attacking team. They have. I mean you look at you
- 28:54Speaker 2: look at the games they've had over the last few
- 28:56Speaker 2: week where maybe you'd expect them to at least have
- 28:59Speaker 2: a chance of a clean sheet, and that's probably Forest,
- 29:01Speaker 2: Brentford and Brighton, but they've conceded eight goals across those
- 29:04Speaker 2: those three games. They've conceded two goals in every game
- 29:07Speaker 2: but one. At least two goals every game but one
- 29:10Speaker 2: this season. So you know, sometimes you have a tough
- 29:13Speaker 2: fixture run and only a will say, look, let's shut
- 29:15Speaker 2: up shop and try and keep the score down. But
- 29:16Speaker 2: that hasn't been happening. So I do have some question
- 29:19Speaker 2: marks around around defense. But goals have been flowing. You know,
- 29:23Speaker 2: they've scored in every game this season apart from the
- 29:24Speaker 2: Arsenal game. In Gaming one, they should have scored in
- 29:26Speaker 2: that Strabie had a great chance. Yes they should. Yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 2: and Cooner's at the heart of it all. Koner Is
- 29:31Speaker 2: is such a great player. I really really like him.
- 29:33Speaker 2: He's someone that I'm looking at bring in as a
- 29:35Speaker 2: transfer this week actually, so yeah, I maybe a bit biased,
- 29:38Speaker 2: but yeah, he's the one to overall.
- 29:39Speaker 1: No, he looks good, doesn't he. I'm still I'm still
- 29:41Speaker 1: going to keep banging the Ryan eight NORRII druma. I think,
- 29:44Speaker 1: particularly if Gabrielle is out for a few weeks, I
- 29:46Speaker 1: can see a few FPR managers moving Gabrielle to Ryan
- 29:48Speaker 1: A Nouri for the next few weeks at least, and
- 29:51Speaker 1: maybe going without arsenal defense, which would have kind of
- 29:54Speaker 1: felt very uncomfortable.
- 29:55Speaker 2: And unheard of. Itn't it.
- 29:57Speaker 1: But I can see that transfer getting made, particular if
- 30:00Speaker 1: Gabrielle is out for a few weeks. But we've got
- 30:01Speaker 1: to We've got to keep an eye on that. We've
- 30:02Speaker 1: got to keep an eye I did allude to it
- 30:04Speaker 1: a second ago. The superstar that is Chris Wood continues
- 30:08Speaker 1: as continue to believe to do the business, doesn't he?
- 30:12Speaker 1: So so good? Cast your mind backs, folks to Friday Night.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Since Nuno it hears the stat that I wrote down
- 30:18Speaker 1: in my notes. Since the Nuno Espirito Santo came in,
- 30:21Speaker 1: only Harland has more non penalty goals than Chris Wood.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Harland's got eighteen. Chris Wood's got seventeen. It's absolutely incredible.
- 30:29Speaker 1: He's to we talk about turning back the clock. You know,
- 30:31Speaker 1: have whatever cliches you want to throw at Chris Wood.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Absolutely incredible. Popped up with the brace this weekend. Now
- 30:38Speaker 1: he did, I think, go off towards the end of
- 30:41Speaker 1: the game. It was pictured with a bit of ice
- 30:43Speaker 1: on his on his foot, I think his ankle maybe.
- 30:45Speaker 1: So keep an eye on press conferences, keep an eye
- 30:48Speaker 1: on what Nuno Espirito Santo has to say about Chris
- 30:50Speaker 1: Wood's fitness going into the next couple of games. But
- 30:53Speaker 1: if you're talking about you know, and and by the way,
- 30:55Speaker 1: I don't think the ship has sailed. The ship is
- 30:57Speaker 1: still very much on course.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It's west Ham up next, then Newcastle. We mentioned before
- 31:02Speaker 1: defensively a little bit all at Sea and you know
- 31:04Speaker 1: not one in five and they've got Arsenal up next,
- 31:06Speaker 1: so you know, Moran a little bit lower at Newcastle.
- 31:08Speaker 1: So two pretty plum looking home games. Okay, then it's
- 31:11Speaker 1: Arsenal way in twelve, but then Nipswitch at home in thirteen.
- 31:15Speaker 1: So three or the next four look amazing for Chris
- 31:18Speaker 1: woodn't they. I mean we mentioned about selling Harland at
- 31:20Speaker 1: the beginning of the beginning of their podcast. Here Harland
- 31:23Speaker 1: to Chris wood Can I tempt you?
- 31:25Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean I made I made a relatively
- 31:29Speaker 2: tongue in cheek comparison of Harland to Chris wood On on
- 31:31Speaker 2: Black Box last week because I said, obviously, in terms
- 31:34Speaker 2: of you know, ability and goal scoring prow as, you'd
- 31:38Speaker 2: still put Harland slightly above Chris wood Let's say just slightly,
- 31:41Speaker 2: and I think slightly in terms of how the teams
- 31:43Speaker 2: are set up to get the most from their strikers.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I think there is comparisons that you can make because Chris,
- 31:49Speaker 2: would you look at you look at a lot of
- 31:51Speaker 2: football teams these days with the fluidity they have, and
- 31:53Speaker 2: you know you've got arsenal for example, with the interchanging
- 31:56Speaker 2: of positions and everything like that. That just isn't the
- 31:58Speaker 2: case when you've got a good old fashioned number nine
- 32:00Speaker 2: sitting up front and you're trying to get the ball
- 32:03Speaker 2: to him at all opportunities and he's not going to give you,
- 32:06Speaker 2: like a huge amount in terms of you know, dropping
- 32:08Speaker 2: deep and playing the ball around. He's not Harry Kane.
- 32:11Speaker 2: He's much more of an early heart. He likes just
- 32:13Speaker 2: sitting in the penalty area. And you see it with
- 32:15Speaker 2: with the with the second goal he scored when the
- 32:16Speaker 2: ball just comes over the top from the goalkeeper. There's
- 32:19Speaker 2: a bit of a dodgy touch from the from the
- 32:21Speaker 2: defender and Chris was in just loops over the goalkeeper.
- 32:23Speaker 2: And that is a that is a striker in amazing confidence,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you supreme confidence because he's just he knows where the
- 32:30Speaker 2: goalkeeper is, He's got the ability just to loop it
- 32:32Speaker 2: over him and does. And I mean the first goal.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I think the first goal is a bit a bit weak,
- 32:36Speaker 2: but technique neat technique wise again, it's a it's a
- 32:39Speaker 2: lovely ability to to get the foot around and get
- 32:42Speaker 2: a shot on target in that position. So yeah, I
- 32:45Speaker 2: did not think I would be going into every game
- 32:47Speaker 2: week fearing Chris Wood and not having in my team.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I'm there and you mentioned the fix, I mean west
- 32:53Speaker 2: Ham at home there because the Newcastle eight couple of
- 32:55Speaker 2: fixtures coming. I've got a hat trick at Sir James's
- 32:57Speaker 2: Park last season and he wasn't playing as well as
- 33:00Speaker 2: he is now, so you've got to be considering him.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you put you mentioned Kuona before, as I think
- 33:05Speaker 1: you put him in that bracket, You've got it. If
- 33:07Speaker 1: you're going to consider Kunya up front, you've got to
- 33:09Speaker 1: consider Chris Wood as well. And would you would you
- 33:11Speaker 1: even put Jamie Vardy in that bracket as well? I mean,
- 33:13Speaker 1: Lester have scored in every match so far this season,
- 33:15Speaker 1: he's usually involved. Shot conversion rate at thirty six point
- 33:18Speaker 1: four this season, so it's pretty high. Would we expect
- 33:21Speaker 1: to maybe a regression to the mean for Vardy or
- 33:23Speaker 1: are we just saying this is a striker that's got
- 33:25Speaker 1: the experience and he's very clinical, and he's and he's
- 33:27Speaker 1: involved with goals. Leicester fixtures coming up next couple of
- 33:31Speaker 1: away games against Ipswich and Manchester United. I don't think
- 33:34Speaker 1: we'll go in there, are we with Vardy? Given that
- 33:35Speaker 1: you can have Chris Wood, or you can have a
- 33:37Speaker 1: Kunya or you can have a well lots of different
- 33:40Speaker 1: bargain forward options that probably super seed Vardy. Yeah, he's
- 33:44Speaker 1: probably a don't buy, don't sell type player.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Vardy. I mean, le it was a very entertaining game.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I watched it on on Friday night and you know,
- 33:51Speaker 2: for the kind of East Midlands Derby, the hype and
- 33:54Speaker 2: the atmosphere was incredible, But for all of the good
- 33:56Speaker 2: player that I saw Uless, he'd only have one shot
- 33:58Speaker 2: on target in that game, which hurt me as a
- 34:01Speaker 2: not in the forest defender owner in my field team. Sure,
- 34:04Speaker 2: but you know it was it was as soon as
- 34:07Speaker 2: less a school. You think it's going to be Vardy
- 34:08Speaker 2: because he's going to get that tap in, he's going
- 34:10Speaker 2: to get that goal again. They're to get the most
- 34:12Speaker 2: out of him, they need to get him the ball
- 34:14Speaker 2: in the color penalty area and that's that's where he's
- 34:16Speaker 2: been so effective over his over his entire of his
- 34:19Speaker 2: entire career. So I don't have him an option. He's
- 34:21Speaker 2: five to seven, he's a bit cheaper than Chris Wood
- 34:23Speaker 2: and Kooner, for example. I still think I go him
- 34:26Speaker 2: and Az though over him. I think the pictures are
- 34:28Speaker 2: just a little bit better. And yeah, he's he's in
- 34:31Speaker 2: great form as well. But I don't mind Varde at all.
- 34:34Speaker 1: With all these budget forward knocking about, as it's getting
- 34:36Speaker 1: harder and harder for FO managers to spend that little
- 34:39Speaker 1: bit more and go up into the seven point something bracket.
- 34:42Speaker 2: With Dominics, we've got to talk to Dominic I will
- 34:47Speaker 2: at some stage say something that will cheer you. I'm
- 34:49Speaker 2: absolutely convinced. I don't look at the fixtures we've got
- 34:52Speaker 2: left LEI. I don't think he will. I assume Dominic
- 34:57Speaker 2: Slanky in your team. Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Well listen it. It was just aner point, not two
- 35:03Speaker 1: x G for Slanky this weekend. And when you combine
- 35:06Speaker 1: that with the previous two game weeks where he got
- 35:08Speaker 1: NAT point No. Eight and then you know, around zero
- 35:12Speaker 1: for the game week before that. His last goal was
- 35:14Speaker 1: in game week six, and you know the Spurs fans
- 35:18Speaker 1: will argue, yep, he's doing a lot for the team,
- 35:20Speaker 1: and he's dropping deep and he's making Brennan Johnson and
- 35:23Speaker 1: Son when he plays, and teamo verner Mikey Moore. You know,
- 35:26Speaker 1: the wingers are looking better with this Crystal Palace game.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I guess the exception which we've got to talk about,
- 35:31Speaker 1: but in previous weeks he's doing a lot for the
- 35:33Speaker 1: team and he's playing in that sort of for Meino
- 35:36Speaker 1: kind of role if you like when Manae and Salad
- 35:38Speaker 1: did so well, didn't they a couple of seasons back
- 35:39Speaker 1: when for me Noo played that.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Kind of way.
- 35:42Speaker 1: But FPO managers won't want to hear that. Slanke's FPR
- 35:45Speaker 1: managers will not want to hear that. They will just see,
- 35:47Speaker 1: you know, nor point no eight x G, not point
- 35:50Speaker 1: not two x G, not getting involved with the goals,
- 35:54Speaker 1: not getting involved with the FPL points. What did you
- 35:56Speaker 1: make a Slanke's performance? Are you going to sell him?
- 36:00Speaker 1: And we've got to talk about Spurs as well, because
- 36:02Speaker 1: it wasn't a good performance from them, right.
- 36:03Speaker 2: No, it wasn't. And we've seen this from Spurs this season.
- 36:05Speaker 2: You know, you don't really know what you're going to
- 36:07Speaker 2: get with them. You don't know whether you're going to
- 36:08Speaker 2: get a really attacking, vibrant, attacking performance where you feel
- 36:12Speaker 2: like anyone can score at any moment, or you're going
- 36:14Speaker 2: to get something where the chemistry just seems off and
- 36:16Speaker 2: they don't look like they're they're gelling at all. I mean,
- 36:19Speaker 2: I've been really disappointed with Selanky. I kind of feel
- 36:22Speaker 2: like I've moved heaven and Earth for him a few
- 36:23Speaker 2: weeks ago because I switched from five in midfield to
- 36:26Speaker 2: free up top, I've avoided Brennan Johnson. Are paying you
- 36:29Speaker 2: a million more for Slanky over Johnson, who looks far
- 36:31Speaker 2: more threatening in that game? I just thought that the
- 36:33Speaker 2: amount of crosses Spurs are putting in and you know
- 36:36Speaker 2: that ninety minutes kind of almost locked on and guaranteed,
- 36:39Speaker 2: and you know the previous history of Slanky played with
- 36:42Speaker 2: Bornemouth last year, in the last previous seasons. I just
- 36:44Speaker 2: thought the goals would come, given the pictures they've got.
- 36:47Speaker 2: But I'm just looking at it now, I'm thinking it's
- 36:49Speaker 2: all very well to be putting crosses in, but if
- 36:51Speaker 2: Slanky isn't even in the penalty area when the crosses
- 36:54Speaker 2: are coming in, you know he's not going to get
- 36:56Speaker 2: on the end of him, is he And he's a
- 36:58Speaker 2: luxury He feels like a luxury pick at seven to
- 37:01Speaker 2: seven when there are so many other players in that
- 37:04Speaker 2: full positions who you can have mentioned at six to five,
- 37:06Speaker 2: so many we've mentioned, and others that we haven't even
- 37:08Speaker 2: mentioned as well that I think can come in. So
- 37:12Speaker 2: it's a question of when am I going to sell
- 37:14Speaker 2: him as opposed to if, because I don't think it
- 37:17Speaker 2: can it can really continue. I mean he's got two
- 37:19Speaker 2: home games next Villa and Ipswich, then it's man City
- 37:21Speaker 2: away and then it's Fullham at home, so it's three
- 37:23Speaker 2: home fixtures in the next four. But I think if
- 37:26Speaker 2: he comes into City away in game week twelve and
- 37:29Speaker 2: you know he's registering this low on the XGI and
- 37:31Speaker 2: then hasn't scored or assisted, he's going to be out.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Game week twelve is a big shift. I think for teams,
- 37:36Speaker 2: there's going to be a lot of moves. So I
- 37:39Speaker 2: think if you are, you know, looking at your teams,
- 37:41Speaker 2: try and hold transfers or at least have gamely twelve
- 37:43Speaker 2: in mind, because we are seeing big, big picture turns. Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 2: Game week twelve definitely going to be a very popular
- 37:48Speaker 2: wildcard window. Like I said before, with those that have
- 37:50Speaker 2: got it.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I do want to give a shout out to Palace,
- 37:52Speaker 1: though it's not all, you know, it's not all that
- 37:54Speaker 1: Spurs played badly. Palace pressed the Spurs goal kicks brilliantly,
- 37:59Speaker 1: absolutely brilliant, and I noticed that Spurs lost the ball
- 38:02Speaker 1: in their own third forty nine times in that game,
- 38:05Speaker 1: most of any Premier League side this season. So Spurs
- 38:08Speaker 1: trying to play out from the back, and I hear
- 38:10Speaker 1: what Angrewpostacoglu says every week. You know, this is our philosophy.
- 38:13Speaker 1: We're going to play this way. But if you lose
- 38:15Speaker 1: the ball in your own third forty nine times, and
- 38:18Speaker 1: seven of those times that led to a shot on goal.
- 38:20Speaker 1: One of those seven one led to the goal. And
- 38:23Speaker 1: if you look at some of the stats, you look
- 38:25Speaker 1: at some of the areas in which they lost that ball,
- 38:28Speaker 1: it was all on that side. With Mickey Vanderven and
- 38:30Speaker 1: with Destiny Yudogi. Those two are not, in my opinion,
- 38:33Speaker 1: comfortable enough on the ball to play out from the back.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Vander Ven in particular, Right, we know what He's got,
- 38:38Speaker 1: loads of strengths, right, He's quick as hell, isn't he
- 38:40Speaker 1: vand even right so.
- 38:41Speaker 2: His recovery pace when Spurs play that.
- 38:43Speaker 1: High line is a weapon. But he's not comfortable on
- 38:47Speaker 1: the ball, and nor is Destiny y Doggie. And actually
- 38:49Speaker 1: Pallas noticed that and won the ball back. You know,
- 38:51Speaker 1: it's seven times that led to a shot in those
- 38:54Speaker 1: areas on that side. So only one clean sheet since
- 38:57Speaker 1: game week one as well as which was that game
- 38:59Speaker 1: against Man United, which admittedly was a good game for them, right,
- 39:02Speaker 1: they did play very well there. There'll be a few
- 39:04Speaker 1: FPR managers that have got Poro. I'm not one of them,
- 39:07Speaker 1: but there'll be a few on Van der Venn as well.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Spurs defense to sell that's what do you think?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I think. I mean we talked about a Nori
- 39:13Speaker 2: and how you kind of relying on the attack of
- 39:14Speaker 2: returns of the clean sheets aren't there at least he's
- 39:16Speaker 2: only four or five poro at five five, I don't know.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I feel like that's a lot of money difficult to
- 39:22Speaker 2: hold now, isn't it. Yeah, I think so. And you know,
- 39:24Speaker 2: if the underlying numbers were like incredible, then I'd say
- 39:27Speaker 2: maybe you can you can hold. And he does look
- 39:29Speaker 2: threatening in the games I've seen, but I do think
- 39:32Speaker 2: with Johnson in the team on the right, it's Johnson
- 39:34Speaker 2: who's getting much more joy down that right hand side
- 39:37Speaker 2: and looks more threatening in terms of teams. And I
- 39:38Speaker 2: don't think this is a Poro that we we've necessarily
- 39:41Speaker 2: seen in previous in previous seasons, so he can always
- 39:44Speaker 2: pop up with a goal. But I mean, he's nearly
- 39:46Speaker 2: thirty percent owned, he's five point five million. I think
- 39:49Speaker 2: this is the time when we're going to be wanting
- 39:50Speaker 2: to take money out of our defense and putting it
- 39:51Speaker 2: into midfield, in particular with Saka, Parma and Salah. So yeah,
- 39:57Speaker 2: he's he's probably a cell maybe maybe even this week.
- 39:59Speaker 2: So can't see him getting clean sheet against William.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Okay, very good, All right, let's talk about the last
- 40:05Speaker 1: couple of games then. So I mentioned him at the
- 40:06Speaker 1: beginning in my team the superstar Brian and Bremo. Only
- 40:11Speaker 1: Harland has got more goals than Mbremos so far this season.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Braced at the weekend, ticking over nicely from the penalty
- 40:16Speaker 1: spot of the last few weeks as well. And as
- 40:19Speaker 1: we know because we've mentioned it here before, and I
- 40:20Speaker 1: know that Sam, Jules and Kelly mention it during their
- 40:23Speaker 1: midweek shows as well. You know, the fixtures for Brentford
- 40:26Speaker 1: look good for the foreseeable Fulham Born with Everton Leicster
- 40:29Speaker 1: up next. There's nothing in there that's going to make
- 40:32Speaker 1: me sell Brian and Brimo defensively is altogether different question.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I thought, ipswitch at home. Yeah, this is Now's your
- 40:39Speaker 1: time flecking. Now is the time flecking for you to
- 40:41Speaker 1: keep a clean sheet. But clearly not, clearly not decided
- 40:45Speaker 1: to concede the three goals and get just the one point.
- 40:48Speaker 1: But I don't want to talk about the defense. Let's
- 40:50Speaker 1: let's focus on Brian and Bremo. You got I think
- 40:52Speaker 1: you I think you've got to have him or do
- 40:55Speaker 1: you now put Visa on the radar as well as
- 40:57Speaker 1: depending on your structure of your team, depending on how
- 40:59Speaker 1: you want to play FPL as a manager, if you're
- 41:01Speaker 1: looking for a midfielder, it's in Premo. If you're looking
- 41:03Speaker 1: for a forward, it's Visit. Do you agree that Brentford
- 41:05Speaker 1: attack is absolutely worth investing in, and would you also
- 41:08Speaker 1: agree that Brentford defense, you know, we should be avoiding
- 41:11Speaker 1: at all costs.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel sorry for Flecking owners or or you know,
- 41:14Speaker 2: because you're not even getting the goals that maybe Pinup
- 41:17Speaker 2: has scored over the last few few weeks. At least
- 41:19Speaker 2: vander Berg is four million and you can see the
- 41:22Speaker 2: most shots in target in the league of all teams
- 41:25Speaker 2: this season, second most shots overall. So I think it's
- 41:29Speaker 2: does mean Flecking gets the odd save point, but it does. Yeah,
- 41:33Speaker 2: too much many going in. That's that's the problem. And
- 41:35Speaker 2: I think you know, with with goalkeepers, you want to
- 41:37Speaker 2: be getting the clean sheets because that's how you get
- 41:39Speaker 2: the bonus and things save point aren't really enough anymore,
- 41:42Speaker 2: especially when especially when the teams conceding multiple goals. So yeah,
- 41:46Speaker 2: then defence is out but mbumo Is is just unbelievable.
- 41:49Speaker 2: He's an absolute must owe. And if you haven't got
- 41:52Speaker 2: him and you feel like you've missed the boat, the
- 41:54Speaker 2: fixers that are still there, you get on it. So yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 2: I think he's He's just an easy, easy move. You know,
- 42:01Speaker 2: I'm amazing are teams out there without him because he's
- 42:04Speaker 2: not as hard to get to as as some of
- 42:05Speaker 2: the other premium as sets. You just want to get
- 42:07Speaker 2: him in and hold. Yeah, I agree, Villa Bormouth. Then
- 42:10Speaker 2: let's talk about Olie Watkins.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Two big chances created for Rogers and for John Duran
- 42:15Speaker 1: and assist as well, wiped out by millimeters, wasn't it
- 42:17Speaker 1: by VR just crossed over the line before McGinn then
- 42:21Speaker 1: tucked it away. So pretty unlucky, I'd suggest Watkin owners,
- 42:25Speaker 1: or maybe as a Watkin owner, I just feel a
- 42:26Speaker 1: bit unlucky.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Only completed ninety minutes twice all season, though Watkins keeps
- 42:32Speaker 1: being dragged off early and Rogers as well dragged off
- 42:35Speaker 1: on fifty seven. So for the first time this season,
- 42:38Speaker 1: substituted before the sixty minute mark with I think you know,
- 42:41Speaker 1: Iamory come out and said, look, the kid's got a
- 42:43Speaker 1: bit of fatigue, which I think at his agent that
- 42:45Speaker 1: the amount of football he's played. I think you can
- 42:47Speaker 1: accept that. So when Villa don't score a lot of goals,
- 42:50Speaker 1: and when Rogers and Watkins don't get too many FPL points,
- 42:55Speaker 1: I know I'm on for a red Arrow that week.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 42:57Speaker 1: Because I've got both of them, and I've got quite
- 42:59Speaker 1: a lot of money tied up in both.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't like being on both of them, But equally,
- 43:03Speaker 1: when they do go off and I get maybe a
- 43:05Speaker 1: Roger's assist Watkins go it's great, it's Green Arrow time, right,
- 43:08Speaker 1: But when Villa don't do quite so well, yeah, it
- 43:11Speaker 1: feels like quite a big risk to have them both
- 43:13Speaker 1: in my team.
- 43:14Speaker 2: How do you feel about it? Well, I've got both
- 43:15Speaker 2: as well, so yeah, I'm with you. I mean, last
- 43:18Speaker 2: week they both scored, didn't they That was lovely. Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I enjoyed that. I enjoyed that a lot. This week
- 43:24Speaker 2: I think it could have happened again. I think you
- 43:25Speaker 2: said about what I think Watkins was very unlucky to
- 43:27Speaker 2: come away from this game with nothing. I thought it
- 43:30Speaker 2: was very threatening throughout, very direct, fouled a few times
- 43:33Speaker 2: been around the penalty area that assists. I mean it
- 43:36Speaker 2: was the right core, the ball had fully crossed the line,
- 43:39Speaker 2: but you can't get much closer than that. So yeah,
- 43:43Speaker 2: I just think Watkins at nine million, where we're talking
- 43:46Speaker 2: about the other assets, I think again he's he'd be
- 43:49Speaker 2: quite low down on the players that I'd buy going forward,
- 43:53Speaker 2: So he's in my team. He's probably going to be
- 43:55Speaker 2: a cell for me over the next couple of weeks. Spurs,
- 43:58Speaker 2: I think it's fine to hold him in that. Then
- 44:00Speaker 2: it's Liverpool. I think that's probably the game where I
- 44:02Speaker 2: lose him and then move to one of the one
- 44:04Speaker 2: of the other players. But Roger's easy hold off of
- 44:06Speaker 2: fifty seven really disappointing. Obviously want him to get to sixty.
- 44:09Speaker 2: But yeah, I think he just needed a bit of
- 44:11Speaker 2: a bit of a break and hopefully he's got the
- 44:12Speaker 2: week now off and won't play in the Cup.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed, all right, So last game to discuss, and
- 44:17Speaker 1: we've discussed a lot of budget forward so far this podcast.
- 44:21Speaker 1: One that we probably should skip over quite quickly. I'm
- 44:23Speaker 1: afraid for Dominic calvot Lewin. Owners is the England man
- 44:26Speaker 1: that's now five blanks in a row for DCL and
- 44:29Speaker 1: then Beto comes on and gets the goal, isn't it.
- 44:31Speaker 1: So it's the difficult one for DCL owners. I think
- 44:35Speaker 1: he's probably a seal, isn't he, Particularly with the wealth
- 44:38Speaker 1: of options that we've got and we've discussed on the pod.
- 44:41Speaker 2: This is a really tough one because you know, you're
- 44:43Speaker 2: looking at fixture plays and it's Southampton next for Everton
- 44:47Speaker 2: and the fixtures remain good, yeah, and you kind of
- 44:50Speaker 2: he kind of maybe get stuck with a player like
- 44:53Speaker 2: that who isn't performing, but you always feel like that
- 44:55Speaker 2: the fixtures are going to are going to turn. I mean,
- 44:57Speaker 2: Diych did say about Beto that he needs to work
- 44:59Speaker 2: on other areas of his game other than the goal scoring.
- 45:02Speaker 2: You know, the work great in defensive duties and things
- 45:06Speaker 2: like that. It's not enough just to be there and
- 45:07Speaker 2: getting goals. You've got to do other parts. So that
- 45:10Speaker 2: kind of indicates to me that Kavloon is going to play.
- 45:13Speaker 2: He's going to start again against Southampton. But I would
- 45:17Speaker 2: be very, very tempted to sell him this week if
- 45:19Speaker 2: I had him, because I look at Chris Wood at
- 45:21Speaker 2: home to west Ham and think it's a similar Ish fixture.
- 45:24Speaker 2: You know he's either team could do well in that game,
- 45:28Speaker 2: but he's on form and they seem to be using
- 45:31Speaker 2: him a bit more so. I think if you've got
- 45:32Speaker 2: calvt Luin and you've got no other major pressing transfers,
- 45:35Speaker 2: I think a Calval Loud to a Wood or a
- 45:37Speaker 2: Cooner might be in your best interest.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right. And then the final game
- 45:41Speaker 1: of the weekend. And just because when I was on
- 45:42Speaker 1: here last time, I forgot to mention Manchester United and
- 45:44Speaker 1: people accuse.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Me of he did it again, but nearly did it again,
- 45:47Speaker 2: nearly did it again. I'm going to leave.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Letss till last many United fans eighteen attempts on goal,
- 45:52Speaker 1: more than any other team on the Sunday.
- 45:54Speaker 2: On the Super Sunday in the Premier.
- 45:55Speaker 1: League, Bruno had five of the most by United player
- 45:58Speaker 1: and three chances created a non pay not the X
- 46:00Speaker 1: year I have zero point seventy four. So I don't
- 46:03Speaker 1: know what Bruno Fernandez owners have got to do to
- 46:05Speaker 1: get a nice hault in FPL. Those of you that
- 46:08Speaker 1: have still got him, but listen, it's it's getting so
- 46:12Speaker 1: frustrating to hold him. He's got to be a seal,
- 46:14Speaker 1: isn't he There's just too many other good options.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Well again it's well, maybe i'm a bit but I
- 46:22Speaker 2: bought am Gnaccio this week and he hit the bar,
- 46:24Speaker 2: which obviously was incredibly disappointing, and had a few other
- 46:27Speaker 2: chances of his own. But again, it's a pictures clab
- 46:30Speaker 2: in Chelsea. Home's taught. But then it's Lester Ripswich Everton.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I look at Fernandez and just think, if you've had
- 46:35Speaker 2: him for this long, I mean, you haven't bought him
- 46:37Speaker 2: this week, Surely you've obviously owned him for quite a while.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Do you maybe just keep him up until game week
- 46:43Speaker 2: fourteen and just hope for the best, because the underlying
- 46:46Speaker 2: numbers are good, and I do think points are potentially
- 46:50Speaker 2: coming on the horizon. It depends what you need, It
- 46:52Speaker 2: depends what you need to do with it. You know,
- 46:54Speaker 2: if you need to take the money out to get
- 46:57Speaker 2: a Palmer or a sacker, then yes, absolutely, But if
- 46:59Speaker 2: you're just kind of moving him too another player for
- 47:01Speaker 2: the sake of it, I still think he's an okay,
- 47:04Speaker 2: okay hole over the next over the next few weeks,
- 47:07Speaker 2: but yeah, it is incredily ipstrate. I'm glad. I haven't
- 47:09Speaker 2: got that decision to make. I just think you take
- 47:12Speaker 2: him out and then you watch him line up against Leicester,
- 47:14Speaker 2: Everton and nipswitch and you've got to almost want him back.
- 47:17Speaker 2: So maybe just put up with it for a few
- 47:18Speaker 2: more weeks. What do you think?
- 47:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's yeah, I think that certainly from eleven, twelve
- 47:22Speaker 1: and thirteen. It's that Leicester at home game that's good,
- 47:25Speaker 1: doesn't it, and then Everton at home in thirteen.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Not in general. Just can't say for the ball in
- 47:30Speaker 2: the net.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I know, but if it can't score, I mean Lester
- 47:33Speaker 1: at home in eleven, that's the one to look at
- 47:35Speaker 1: and we'll get some We'll get some pointers I think
- 47:37Speaker 1: won't were. The one thing that we always say on
- 47:39Speaker 1: this podcast is hold your knee from jerking if you can.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Because of some Big League Cup games coming up in
- 47:46Speaker 1: the week and Manchester United, I believe in round four
- 47:49Speaker 1: are playing against Leicester and I think it is Adul Trafford,
- 47:52Speaker 1: So all eyes on that game because Bruno Fernandez owners
- 47:55Speaker 1: will want to see something in that game that might
- 47:58Speaker 1: mean they keep him for the though. Looking if you
- 48:00Speaker 1: were's owner and you saw him get a hat trick
- 48:03Speaker 1: in the Cup. Would that make you happy? No?
- 48:07Speaker 2: Probably not, probably not. I think the key thing with
- 48:10Speaker 2: with Filandez though, is again patience is a virtue. I
- 48:13Speaker 2: think if you've kept him for this long, you keep him.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I think that's that's generally a rule with all. We've
- 48:18Speaker 2: all transfers this season, and particularly this week because we've
- 48:20Speaker 2: got the League Cup coming up, so we might need
- 48:23Speaker 2: more news on you know, Gabrielle Gordon as well is
- 48:27Speaker 2: out if you've got him in your team, so we're
- 48:29Speaker 2: hoping to get a bit more information about them. So
- 48:31Speaker 2: you hold those transfers if you can. Yeah, hold those transfers.
- 48:33Speaker 1: And while you're doing that, why you're holding While you're waiting,
- 48:35Speaker 1: don't forget to listen to Dules, Kelly and Sam back
- 48:38Speaker 1: this week on the FPL Pod and.
- 48:41Speaker 2: If you haven't already joined the f PL pod Mini League,
- 48:43Speaker 2: the code is Q seven y C zero. As as ever,
- 48:48Speaker 2: a pleasure to chat with you this morning and before
- 48:50Speaker 2: you go.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Two huge games coming up this week, by the way,
- 48:52Speaker 1: my team against your team, we play each other in
- 48:54Speaker 1: the League Cup at the Annex before your team Brighton
- 48:57Speaker 1: comes to visit Liverpool and Field this weekend in the Premier.
- 48:59Speaker 2: League score predictions. Two on Brian, is that a league?
- 49:05Speaker 2: Is that a Premier League? I think we I think
- 49:08Speaker 2: we might, we might get one over you in the Cup,
- 49:10Speaker 2: but then I think you'll probably you'll probably do us
- 49:12Speaker 2: over in the in the league.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I'm gonna go too, Neil for us in
- 49:15Speaker 1: the league. May the best team made the best team
- 49:17Speaker 1: in red. Nice to see this week.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Thanks thanks cheering me up. M
