- 0:00Speaker 2: We have to Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Plays get broken down and science gets denied to.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Our two of Off the Bench live from the Raisin
- 0:12Speaker 2: Canes studio.
- 0:56Speaker 1: All right, welcome back in our number two of O
- 0:58Speaker 1: t B here live from the Raising Kines Studio. Of course,
- 1:00Speaker 1: our Monday shows brought to you by buyou Automotive.
- 1:02Speaker 3: By you Automotive dot Com is the website.
- 1:06Speaker 1: The New Orleans Saints got a chance to see their
- 1:09Speaker 1: rookies at Rookie Minnie Camp over the weekend. Certainly a
- 1:15Speaker 1: lot of eyeball is going to be on Jordan Tyson,
- 1:18Speaker 1: Oscar Delp, some of those early picks, Christian Miller, who
- 1:22Speaker 1: you know you take there in the second round out
- 1:26Speaker 1: of UGA. I would say barry On Brown because of
- 1:30Speaker 1: his LSU ties and Ward was that he had a
- 1:33Speaker 1: really good rookie Mini camp as well. But we'll start
- 1:37Speaker 1: with Jordan Tyson, who you took number eight. Overall, Saints
- 1:41Speaker 1: desperately desperately needed some juice at the receiver position.
- 1:46Speaker 3: They needed somebody who was a difference maker.
- 1:48Speaker 1: They needed somebody with his skill set and his size
- 1:51Speaker 1: and certainly.
- 1:52Speaker 3: You know, look, it's it's not pads.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Sometimes you don't really need pads to be able to
- 1:57Speaker 1: tell who's the Jimmies and who's the Joe and things
- 2:00Speaker 1: like that. And it certainly felt like Jordan Tyson was
- 2:03Speaker 1: that guy at rookie minni camp and so if he
- 2:06Speaker 1: can stay healthy, which is going to be the question, right,
- 2:08Speaker 1: It wasn't a skill, it wasn't a production. It was
- 2:10Speaker 1: a health question that was asked about Jordan Tyson.
- 2:14Speaker 3: When the draft was a couple of weeks ago.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And so you clear him there and he's had an
- 2:21Speaker 1: ACL he's had hamstring, he's had.
- 2:23Speaker 3: A collar bone, so he's had a little bit of everything.
- 2:26Speaker 1: But you felt good enough to draft him eight overall,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and just by one rookie minicamp. You can certainly see
- 2:33Speaker 1: why you would want to do that. A difference maker,
- 2:36Speaker 1: to say the least. But also when you're watching the
- 2:39Speaker 1: one on ones, Jordan Tyson looks a little different than
- 2:42Speaker 1: everybody else out there.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, the concerns going into the draft
- 2:48Speaker 4: for all of us that were, you know, making billions
- 2:52Speaker 4: of mock drafts and talking about all the potential people
- 2:54Speaker 4: that would be available at the number eight overall pig.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Jordan Tyson was one of those guys that said, man,
- 3:01Speaker 4: if only he didn't have all those injuries, there wasn't
- 3:05Speaker 4: that concern. He would be the unquestioned guy, probably go
- 3:08Speaker 4: higher than eight. Like he was the probably the only
- 3:11Speaker 4: receiver that we thought, at least on the show that
- 3:12Speaker 4: had that talent to have a single digit draft number
- 3:17Speaker 4: by his name at the end of the day.
- 3:20Speaker 3: And that shows, and it shows early on.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Now both of the things showed the talent and the
- 3:25Speaker 4: health concerns because he did miss part of the rookie
- 3:30Speaker 4: mini camp, and but that was not due to injury.
- 3:32Speaker 4: It was just part of the Saints you know. They
- 3:34Speaker 4: addressed it and they're like, look, we get it. This
- 3:36Speaker 4: is all part of the maintenance plan. Like we we
- 3:39Speaker 4: finally got our myths around these guys, Like the draft
- 3:41Speaker 4: picks are here.
- 3:43Speaker 3: We've been thinking about this as studying this a long time.
- 3:46Speaker 4: We're not just gonna, you know, take this guy that
- 3:48Speaker 4: has had some some injuries in the past.
- 3:50Speaker 3: We're not. We're gonna let's seiz him in a little
- 3:52Speaker 3: bit slowly.
- 3:53Speaker 4: It was all part of their plan, so of course,
- 3:55Speaker 4: probably made Saints fans a little bit nervous to see
- 3:57Speaker 4: that he wasn't at one of the practices, but you know,
- 3:59Speaker 4: all part of the plants a long time before training
- 4:02Speaker 4: camp starts, a long time before the Saints really needed
- 4:05Speaker 4: to go. But like Jake said, good to see them
- 4:08Speaker 4: out there and look, I think, honestly, I think the guy,
- 4:11Speaker 4: one of the guys that can make the biggest impact
- 4:13Speaker 4: next year is gonna be Berry on Brown. I think
- 4:16Speaker 4: that from a return game standpoint and just the way
- 4:20Speaker 4: that they can use him. They're gonna be all eyes
- 4:23Speaker 4: on cris A Lave and George like all eyes on them.
- 4:28Speaker 4: They're going to Defenses are going to try to stop
- 4:30Speaker 4: those guys, and it's going to make opportunities, especially a speedster,
- 4:36Speaker 4: give him a lot of opportunities down the field, So
- 4:38Speaker 4: get a lot of one on one matchups, get some
- 4:40Speaker 4: coverage rolled the opposite direction from them.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I think that he.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Has he has a chance, and boy would we love
- 4:47Speaker 4: to see an LSU guy make an impact for the Saints.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I think that's always fun for the hadn't happened a lot,
- 4:53Speaker 4: it's always fun when that happens for fans to see
- 4:55Speaker 4: the LSU guys go there and make a big impact.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Yeah, like Mickey told you, I didn't trade up and
- 5:00Speaker 1: after the elisuga.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Right, So y'all shouldn't be talking any of that ish
- 5:04Speaker 4: towards me.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Barryon Brown might have a role in offense, and like
- 5:08Speaker 1: it might not be a incredibly impactful role, but it
- 5:12Speaker 1: might be a small role, like Matt said, to be
- 5:14Speaker 1: able to help you do some different things. The Saints
- 5:17Speaker 1: have a lack like, you know, true explosive speed, like
- 5:21Speaker 1: game changing speed. They've liked that a little bit, and
- 5:25Speaker 1: so Brown certainly gives you that, and he can stress
- 5:27Speaker 1: the defense vertically from the very get go. But also
- 5:30Speaker 1: Nick Underhill, who joined us every Tuesday, talked about what
- 5:33Speaker 1: he's going to be in the return game as well,
- 5:35Speaker 1: mention they need a dynamic return or remember Barryon Brown
- 5:38Speaker 1: has the record, the SEC record for return touchdowns kickoff
- 5:42Speaker 1: return touchdowns, so he helps you there from day one.
- 5:45Speaker 3: We'll see what happens on punt return.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Didn't really do a whole lot of that in college
- 5:49Speaker 1: compared to kick returns, but he certainly gives you that
- 5:52Speaker 1: from the very get go, and then whatever you get
- 5:54Speaker 1: from him offensively feels like a little lean yea.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's he's got an opportunity to kind
- 5:58Speaker 4: of be like, was is it Tess Johnson for the
- 6:01Speaker 4: Bucks last year who young guy speedy gout and had
- 6:04Speaker 4: a couple of games early where it's just like, oh whoa, Like, Okay,
- 6:08Speaker 4: this guy's got it. He can beat you down the field.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I think Tess early on had some like big two
- 6:13Speaker 4: touchdown games. I think Baryon, like coming in, has that
- 6:17Speaker 4: opportunity to put defenses or at least coordinators on the
- 6:22Speaker 4: heels a little bit when they have to game plan
- 6:24Speaker 4: against the Saints. And I think he's got that type
- 6:26Speaker 4: of big play potential and you just don't know, like
- 6:29Speaker 4: a six round pick coming in, like you don't know
- 6:32Speaker 4: you know what he can do in the return game.
- 6:33Speaker 3: That's probably why they drafted him.
- 6:35Speaker 4: But he could be one of these guys that really
- 6:38Speaker 4: flashes and surprises people at what he can do at
- 6:41Speaker 4: the wide receiver room. Just because of offensive, offensive minded
- 6:44Speaker 4: head coach, you got a lot of young talent, there's
- 6:47Speaker 4: going to be a lot of the defense they're not
- 6:48Speaker 4: going to be expecting him to be able to be impactful.
- 6:52Speaker 4: So that's kind of my player to watch right now.
- 6:55Speaker 4: From this past draft.
- 6:57Speaker 1: One more to talk about offensively is Oscar dew Well,
- 7:00Speaker 1: the tight end out of Georgia. Now, this is somebody
- 7:04Speaker 1: that we know, he's tough. I had a broken foot,
- 7:07Speaker 1: didn't even know it. He didn't know it until they
- 7:09Speaker 1: went to the combine and he did the physical there
- 7:12Speaker 1: that we always talk about and how strenuous and how
- 7:15Speaker 1: long of a process that is to get a physical
- 7:18Speaker 1: in Indie. But this is somebody that a lot of
- 7:22Speaker 1: people feel like is underused. When he was at Uga,
- 7:26Speaker 1: like you could have used him in the way some
- 7:28Speaker 1: of the ways he used brock Bowers.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Is he brock Bowers. No, but a lot of people
- 7:31Speaker 3: thought he would be the guy that you would use
- 7:33Speaker 3: in that role.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You never really used him to the same effect because
- 7:36Speaker 1: well you had a different offics coordinator and it just
- 7:38Speaker 1: never looked the same.
- 7:39Speaker 3: But he was certainly someone that turned.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Heads at rookie Mini Camp and Matthew you'd be able
- 7:45Speaker 1: to tell us way better than anybody what it means
- 7:47Speaker 1: to have a tight end that you can trust in value.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I mean, it's especially in the evolution of football right now.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a different Like was it twenty three tight
- 7:59Speaker 3: ends drafted this year?
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah, something like that in the top one of the top,
- 8:03Speaker 4: if not the most explosive and best and most consistent
- 8:07Speaker 4: offenses in the in the entire NFL last year utilized
- 8:11Speaker 4: thirteen personnel. And what that is, launder, what's thirteen personnel?
- 8:17Speaker 5: One running back?
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yeah, three tight Yeah, there we go. What else?
- 8:21Speaker 5: Two wide receivers?
- 8:23Speaker 1: No?
- 8:23Speaker 5: Wait, I'm sorry, y'all know about it?
- 8:26Speaker 3: A mathive mathing.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Yeah, So, like you think about that, and in a
- 8:30Speaker 4: day and age where passing yards and quarterbacks are king,
- 8:34Speaker 4: the most explosive passing offense or one of the most
- 8:36Speaker 4: explosive pass had three tight ends on the fields. That's
- 8:39Speaker 4: a position that keeps evolving as players get bigger, stronger, faster.
- 8:43Speaker 4: We see it on defense all the time. It's like,
- 8:45Speaker 4: my god, where are these people made. They're made in
- 8:47Speaker 4: a lab. Like there's you don't have the big fat
- 8:49Speaker 4: guys anymore. You don't have a lot of them, like
- 8:52Speaker 4: defensive line, offensive line. You're looking at guys with you know,
- 8:55Speaker 4: under fifteen twenty fifteen percent body fat like going out
- 8:59Speaker 4: there and playing.
- 8:59Speaker 3: They still weigh the same. They're just bigger, strong and fast.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And now you're seeing that evolution in with humans at
- 9:05Speaker 4: the tight end position, a lot more athleticism that people
- 9:08Speaker 4: can both block, and it's just and we've always had
- 9:11Speaker 4: the tight end position and guys excel at it.
- 9:13Speaker 3: You're just seeing more and more of it. And of
- 9:16Speaker 3: course you're.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Seeing offensive minded offensive coordinators, offensive head coaches, you're seeing
- 9:21Speaker 4: them being able to utilize it. And it's a copycat league,
- 9:24Speaker 4: so if one person's having success with it, the rest
- 9:27Speaker 4: of the league is going to follow until somebody on
- 9:30Speaker 4: defense figures out a way to stop it, and then
- 9:32Speaker 4: it just it's an evolution. It's constantly rotating on what
- 9:36Speaker 4: personnels work, what type of offenses are going to work
- 9:39Speaker 4: in the NFL, And right now, tight ends are a huge,
- 9:44Speaker 4: huge part of what NFL teams want to do.
- 9:46Speaker 3: And we saw it with what the Saints have done.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and the Saints last year just did not use
- 9:53Speaker 1: multiple tight ends. They only us thirteen personnel eight percent
- 9:56Speaker 1: of the time. They only use twelve personnel sixteen point
- 10:00Speaker 1: eight percent of the.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Time, So way, way, way way down the.
- 10:04Speaker 1: List of twelve personnel teams in fact, and that was
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think we're talking about twenty seventh in the NFL
- 10:12Speaker 1: ye in twelve personnel usage. And for eleven personnel. They
- 10:16Speaker 1: used that sixty seven percent of the time. That was
- 10:19Speaker 1: fourth most in the National Football League behind Tennessee, Tampa
- 10:23Speaker 1: Bay and the Jets.
- 10:24Speaker 3: So it wasn't something they used a lot last year.
- 10:27Speaker 1: In fact, it's something that when they did use it,
- 10:30Speaker 1: you fell into really bad tendencies.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Of what you were going to do.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So certainly a point of emphasis to be able to
- 10:35Speaker 1: get out there and get Juwan Johnson and Oscar Delp
- 10:38Speaker 1: on the field at the same time.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you I mean, you have to obviously
- 10:41Speaker 4: have the dudes to be able to use a lot
- 10:44Speaker 4: of that successfully, use a lot of tight ends and
- 10:46Speaker 4: inside receivers, like the most successful passing games at the
- 10:49Speaker 4: NFL level. Now in college it's a little bit different.
- 10:52Speaker 4: We looked at like Elaane Kiffen offense. This is a
- 10:54Speaker 4: little bit more outside ind but most successful offenses that
- 10:57Speaker 4: at the higher levels of football are inside out passing concepts,
- 11:02Speaker 4: inside out passing mentality. The fastest way to the end
- 11:05Speaker 4: zone is over the middle. That's how the most successful
- 11:08Speaker 4: like it. You're just not going to make a lot
- 11:10Speaker 4: of hay consistently working outside the numbers, So in between
- 11:15Speaker 4: the hashes right around the hashes, and that's where the
- 11:17Speaker 4: tight ends have their success. If you can line a
- 11:19Speaker 4: bunch of them up and you saw all the sudden
- 11:21Speaker 4: like that's why the evolution of the slot receiver, your
- 11:24Speaker 4: traditional zs and x's the new age. Offensive coordinators ten
- 11:30Speaker 4: fifteen years ago started moving those guys into the slot
- 11:33Speaker 4: because it created matchup issues because you have to sort
- 11:36Speaker 4: things out as a defense and you've got two or
- 11:38Speaker 4: three guys running vertically over the middle of the field,
- 11:41Speaker 4: it's a lot harder to figure out or they going left,
- 11:43Speaker 4: they're going right. Now if you're on the outside in
- 11:45Speaker 4: your corner, like, there's only one direction he can go.
- 11:47Speaker 4: He can't go towards the sideline really, unless it's like
- 11:50Speaker 4: a timing out route, and sometimes you just gave those up,
- 11:52Speaker 4: but like you were able to play a little bit
- 11:55Speaker 4: more inside out leverage. But when it's in the middle
- 11:59Speaker 4: of the field, that's why the most successful passing routes
- 12:02Speaker 4: and passing teams are more of an inside out approach.
- 12:04Speaker 4: It just creates a lot more confusion. Let you let
- 12:07Speaker 4: you take advantage of the zones a lot better. And
- 12:11Speaker 4: it's just that's the flaw all the successful teams that
- 12:14Speaker 4: I was on offensively, that was the approach, fastest way
- 12:17Speaker 4: to the end zone over the middle.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And you can't be afraid to use the middle of
- 12:22Speaker 1: the football field like a team we cover every single
- 12:25Speaker 1: day was afraid to use the middle of the football field.
- 12:28Speaker 1: There's not caution tape, there's not police tape saying you
- 12:31Speaker 1: can't go here. Yep, you actually can use that portion
- 12:34Speaker 1: of the field. And so it is the quickest way
- 12:36Speaker 1: to the end zone. And if you can get that done,
- 12:38Speaker 1: you make everybody cover every blade out there and not
- 12:41Speaker 1: just some of the blades of crass out there as
- 12:43Speaker 1: we saw a year ago. And remember these Saints also
- 12:47Speaker 1: did sign Noah Fan in free agency, so they'll have
- 12:50Speaker 1: Jawan Johnson and Oscar Dell available, so we could see
- 12:54Speaker 1: that thirteen personnel go up as well. All Right, we
- 12:57Speaker 1: will step away a little LSU football talk when we
- 12:59Speaker 1: come back here on OTB.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Off the bench.

- 14:13Speaker 2: Buyo Automotive.
- 14:33Speaker 1: All right, welcome back in OTB confirmed deritor. Dragons love
- 14:38Speaker 1: that period, you would your nickname is dragons, So yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Cordon to Amazon, according to you self given.
- 14:56Speaker 1: ESPN dot Com put out an article college Football Top
- 14:59Speaker 1: twenty five. I have award candidates for every team Elsho's
- 15:04Speaker 1: preseason top twenty five and for them coming at number eleven.
- 15:09Speaker 1: By the way, it predicts that their award winner would
- 15:13Speaker 1: be any any guests, no guess, any position, any player,
- 15:19Speaker 1: any award, any.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Award, any any college football award. Best ton of that
- 15:26Speaker 3: would be the Makie Maki. Did you know that? Nope? Nope?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Who would they go to?
- 15:32Speaker 1: Sure? It is okay, a Landra any guests award for
- 15:35Speaker 1: the no any player, no, any player on LSU.
- 15:38Speaker 3: If they were to win an award, who would it
- 15:40Speaker 3: be this season? Yeah, in this upcoming season? Who would
- 15:42Speaker 3: be your guests?
- 15:45Speaker 5: Somebody on the defense.
- 15:47Speaker 3: What's wrong with the offense? I just don't know. We
- 15:50Speaker 3: don't know what. We don't know what it looks like.
- 15:54Speaker 5: I don't know. But somebody on.
- 15:55Speaker 3: The defense leadership award? Uh?
- 15:58Speaker 5: Do I have to give like a.
- 16:00Speaker 3: No, you're good defense? It is and you got there eventually.
- 16:03Speaker 1: It says if LSU was to win an award, it
- 16:06Speaker 1: would be linebacker wit Weeks, and that would be the
- 16:09Speaker 1: Buckets Award for the nation's best linebacker.
- 16:11Speaker 5: We got there together.
- 16:12Speaker 3: There you go our one brain.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Cell, like the right up from Andrea Adelson said, there
- 16:20Speaker 1: is a little doubt that Week's decision to return was
- 16:22Speaker 1: a huge win for new Tigers coach Lane Kiffen and
- 16:24Speaker 1: the defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who has his lynchpin back,
- 16:30Speaker 1: and he is sure to be a preseason All American.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Weeks missed the bulk of last season with a broken ankle.
- 16:35Speaker 1: In twenty twenty four Star eleven games and had one
- 16:37Speaker 1: hundred and twenty five tackles, including ten for lost, three
- 16:40Speaker 1: and a half sacks, two forced from moles, six quarterback hurries,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and an interception. So it says if Week stays healthy
- 16:45Speaker 1: and puts up that type of production again, he will
- 16:49Speaker 1: be up for every major defensive player of the Year
- 16:51Speaker 1: award in the country, and Wits health is certainly going
- 16:57Speaker 1: to be I would say the most important outside of
- 17:03Speaker 1: maybe trade as Green because like you said, like there's
- 17:06Speaker 1: just not a lot of trade as greens walking the earth,
- 17:08Speaker 1: just not that have his size and his athletic ability.
- 17:12Speaker 1: There's also not a lot of whit Weeks that you
- 17:13Speaker 1: can put in the middle of your defense. We saw
- 17:15Speaker 1: that last year, how that drastically changed. And look, Wes
- 17:20Speaker 1: Weeks played much better I think than anybody anticipated. And
- 17:23Speaker 1: Wes found himself now he's on an NFL roster with
- 17:27Speaker 1: the Colts, right, and we saw what he did at
- 17:28Speaker 1: Pro Day, Like Wes got better, but what Weeks was
- 17:32Speaker 1: preseason All American yep, And so you know, no disrespect
- 17:36Speaker 1: to Keys when he came in.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It's just not the same though.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So you've added other players too, because it can't just
- 17:42Speaker 1: be a one trick pony in the middle of your defense.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Like you added a guy in Dottery that started at
- 17:49Speaker 1: linebacker role miss last year too, so and you've got
- 17:51Speaker 1: another Week's brother as well. So it's the group as
- 17:54Speaker 1: a whole that's going to make with Weeks I think,
- 17:56Speaker 1: an even better player. It's just you know, staying healthy,
- 17:59Speaker 1: staying on the field, because he got hurt against Baylor
- 18:02Speaker 1: in that Texas Bowl, right, and then like you try
- 18:05Speaker 1: to get him back, you get him back, and then
- 18:07Speaker 1: he gets another injury there and man, he tried. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: still don't know how he went out there against South
- 18:12Speaker 1: Carolina and played that game like with a broken ankle yep,
- 18:16Speaker 1: And he was going off vibes and probably toward all
- 18:19Speaker 1: but he did it, and he tried to play a
- 18:21Speaker 1: couple of different times. He played a little bit in
- 18:22Speaker 1: the Oklahoma game. He tried to give you everything he had.
- 18:25Speaker 1: He just had a broken ankle.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yep.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So now that you know, they've been smart with him.
- 18:29Speaker 1: During spring practice, he didn't do a whole lot. He
- 18:32Speaker 1: went out there a couple of times, talked to it
- 18:34Speaker 1: the other day. He feels ready to go, feels good
- 18:36Speaker 1: to go, and he like trade As on offense, wood
- 18:41Speaker 1: Weeks on defense are going to be your most important players.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And I know you're probably listening saying, what about the quarterback, Well,
- 18:47Speaker 1: you went out and did a really nice job of
- 18:49Speaker 1: drastically improving your quarterback depth. You don't have another trade
- 18:53Speaker 1: As and that's no disrespect to any other tied end
- 18:56Speaker 1: on this roster, but again, trade As and what he
- 18:59Speaker 1: can do is truly one of one. You don't have
- 19:02Speaker 1: another wit Weeks in this roster either. Not a lot
- 19:04Speaker 1: of teams in the country do.
- 19:06Speaker 4: They talked about wit Weeks and talking about him playing
- 19:09Speaker 4: through his injury, he said he was kind of going
- 19:12Speaker 4: on vibes and tore it all. You know, I would
- 19:14Speaker 4: put a little bit of meathead mentality and a lot
- 19:17Speaker 4: of heart into that as well. Into that equation and
- 19:20Speaker 4: a lot of heart is what you don't always see
- 19:22Speaker 4: in college football anymore, is what I think the biggest
- 19:25Speaker 4: you know, the only downside I guess to the state
- 19:29Speaker 4: of college football right now is sometimes you don't get
- 19:32Speaker 4: that well in that aspect. What Weeks is a unicorn,
- 19:35Speaker 4: got this stuck around. He has done the right thing.
- 19:38Speaker 4: A guy that you know, you cut him open. He
- 19:41Speaker 4: bleeds purple and gold right, and you don't always see
- 19:43Speaker 4: that with college athletes anymore because it is I mean,
- 19:46Speaker 4: it is what it is. It's a pay for play
- 19:48Speaker 4: type situation, and that is okay. But he is a unicorn,
- 19:53Speaker 4: and not only from his like physical play, because obviously
- 19:56Speaker 4: he's very talented and the way he plays, you know,
- 19:59Speaker 4: he's accept the bullet at that position that he plays
- 20:02Speaker 4: in the sport that he plays to be injured. Unfortunately
- 20:04Speaker 4: he has had some that has put him out, but
- 20:08Speaker 4: the way he plays the game obviously going to make
- 20:10Speaker 4: a huge impact for the Tiger defense, but more importantly
- 20:14Speaker 4: him his presence on the field. I think this article
- 20:18Speaker 4: referred to him as the lynchpin, you got, keystone, whatever
- 20:20Speaker 4: it is, he is what holds holds it all together
- 20:24Speaker 4: from a leadership standpoint, and with him on the field,
- 20:26Speaker 4: everybody's better. Of course, as a whole, it's going to
- 20:30Speaker 4: make him better because he's got good parts around him.
- 20:32Speaker 4: But if he is on the field, everything is going
- 20:35Speaker 4: to operate more efficiently. Everybody's going to play a little
- 20:38Speaker 4: bit better just because having him on the field. Having
- 20:40Speaker 4: that presence in a world where everybody is a pay
- 20:44Speaker 4: for play type person, having that one person that is
- 20:47Speaker 4: that LSU guy and can show them the way for
- 20:50Speaker 4: that and tell them what it means to play here
- 20:53Speaker 4: and be here, that makes a huge difference. Now, whether
- 20:55Speaker 4: it might be a small difference, might be a tiny difference.
- 20:58Speaker 4: It might be a little extra effort on the first
- 21:00Speaker 4: step or the fifth step. Yeah, but you're not going
- 21:03Speaker 4: to get a loaf that you got last year with
- 21:06Speaker 4: him on the field. If you do, it'll be a
- 21:09Speaker 4: lot fewer. And that that happened last year.
- 21:12Speaker 3: My man was puke and rally a couple of times
- 21:14Speaker 3: last year. Absolutely he was.
- 21:17Speaker 4: So it's you know, it's one of those things that
- 21:19Speaker 4: he is going to be a huge part of it.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Keeping him healthy is And of course you talked about
- 21:24Speaker 4: trade as we've I've said it multiple multiple times. Trade
- 21:28Speaker 4: has has the opportunity and the ability if the offense
- 21:31Speaker 4: it you know, barring good luck with injuries and and
- 21:35Speaker 4: having you know, is your best ability is availability if
- 21:39Speaker 4: he is available all season, and the coaching staff has
- 21:41Speaker 4: a big responsibility, a big challenge on trying to scheme
- 21:45Speaker 4: it up to where he can showcase his skill set.
- 21:48Speaker 4: He has the opportunity to be the most dangerous offensive
- 21:51Speaker 4: weapon in the entire country in college football. So a
- 21:55Speaker 4: lot of things to look forward to as LSU fans.
- 21:58Speaker 4: You know, we're it's I mean, we're pretty close. I
- 22:01Speaker 4: know softball is going to make a run of this thing,
- 22:03Speaker 4: but we're pretty close football season. Yeah, with baseball being
- 22:07Speaker 4: what it is, like I have all attention, all eyes,
- 22:10Speaker 4: all the focus is going to start shifting that direction
- 22:13Speaker 4: here pretty shortly. Yeah, So it's it's gonna be a
- 22:17Speaker 4: lot of talk going forward on LSU football and a
- 22:20Speaker 4: lot of speculation. That's gonna be a lot of that.
- 22:22Speaker 4: It's kind of like leading up to the draft. We're
- 22:24Speaker 4: gonna talk a lot, a lot about different things in
- 22:26Speaker 4: the way things could shake out or play out. The
- 22:28Speaker 4: trade as I think, is going to be that guy
- 22:31Speaker 4: that at the end of the year, everybody's gonna be
- 22:34Speaker 4: talking about that dude, and probably with a single digit
- 22:38Speaker 4: by his name in the twenty twenty seven draft.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So with this staff, with his ability and the mismatches
- 22:46Speaker 1: that they can create, because there's actual ballplays that attack
- 22:51Speaker 1: the middle of.
- 22:51Speaker 3: The football field, not as much as I want. There's
- 22:54Speaker 3: not as much.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Buddy, if you threw three over the middle of the field,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I know that would be an improvement, not even like
- 23:02Speaker 1: trying to be funny.
- 23:03Speaker 3: With me, further than five yards on the field. Do
- 23:05Speaker 3: you remember they threw one.
- 23:06Speaker 1: It was late in the season, you were willing to
- 23:09Speaker 1: sec play, you were already getting your butt kicked, and
- 23:12Speaker 1: they threw like just like a bang eight over the middle.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I forget which receiver it was, but they hit him.
- 23:18Speaker 1: He was like a step inside the hash And I'm
- 23:21Speaker 1: calling the game and I'm like, oh my god, what
- 23:24Speaker 1: was like, Chris. They threw it in the middle of
- 23:26Speaker 1: the field to a receiver down the field like that
- 23:31Speaker 1: shouldn't stand out.
- 23:31Speaker 3: To you, but it did. You I don't even want
- 23:36Speaker 3: to start this. You don't have to start it here.
- 23:39Speaker 4: And it came off of a year where they were
- 23:41Speaker 4: doing an incredible job. That's why Anderson coming into the
- 23:44Speaker 4: year because I'm like, this guy's got a great football,
- 23:47Speaker 4: like you attacks me of a field like we just
- 23:49Speaker 4: talked about with the Saints, and like the the addition
- 23:53Speaker 4: of all the tight ends and how multiple tight ends
- 23:55Speaker 4: the Rams have started exploiting it. Seahawks are exploiting it
- 23:59Speaker 4: like attacking the middle. The field is inside out passing mentality.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Now.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I tried to like make that point a couple of
- 24:05Speaker 4: months ago when Lane came. I was like, man, this
- 24:07Speaker 4: is why they're successful and we try to count it,
- 24:09Speaker 4: but they actually don't it Like lanes offense doesn't necessarily attack.
- 24:14Speaker 4: That's why I say college football can be a little
- 24:16Speaker 4: bit can be a little bit different. They did throw
- 24:18Speaker 4: it outside the hash, but they create their mismatches in
- 24:21Speaker 4: different ways, getting the uh, moving the pocket for quarterbacks,
- 24:25Speaker 4: making people make decision on the quarterback as well. So
- 24:29Speaker 4: what necessarily as much as I want or I expected
- 24:32Speaker 4: to see how successful lanes offenses are, that's kind of like,
- 24:35Speaker 4: you know, my philosophy and a lot of people's philosophy
- 24:38Speaker 4: of inside out passing mentality. It's kind of an anomaly.
- 24:43Speaker 4: I guess it's very highly consistently successful offense that does
- 24:48Speaker 4: and maybe the philosophy still is inside out, but a
- 24:52Speaker 4: lot of their passes do end up going outside the hash.
- 24:54Speaker 3: So but we'll see. It's a challenge.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Like when you have somebody's talented as true he does,
- 25:00Speaker 4: it's a lot of pressure on the coaching staff. Like
- 25:04Speaker 4: I mean, you can you can look at it two
- 25:05Speaker 4: different ways, all right, we have to scheme up how
- 25:07Speaker 4: to get him the ball, or just put him in
- 25:09Speaker 4: a position and let the offense offensive scheme and his
- 25:13Speaker 4: skill set dictate where the ball goes, and he'll probably
- 25:17Speaker 4: end up having a lot of good games. Like there's
- 25:19Speaker 4: there's two ways ago just let him play in the
- 25:20Speaker 4: offense and see how it goes, or we try to
- 25:22Speaker 4: maneuver the offense around and I'll be interested to see
- 25:25Speaker 4: how this staff decides to handle it.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Let's take a break. I want to because I want
- 25:34Speaker 3: to do I want to.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I want to show what the offense is gonna look
- 25:37Speaker 1: like as far as new bodies, And we could sit
- 25:42Speaker 1: here and we can tell you how many, but I
- 25:44Speaker 1: think a visual of how many, and so I'm gonna
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna pull up something to
- 25:49Speaker 1: show you exactly how new this offense truly is going
- 25:53Speaker 1: to be. So we'll do that when we come back.
- 25:54Speaker 1: We've still got weekend winners coming up as well. Stay

- 27:43Speaker 2: Impress off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by
- 27:52Speaker 2: Buyu Automotive.
- 28:05Speaker 1: All right, welcome back in OTV here live from the
- 28:08Speaker 1: Raids of Canes Studio.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Tata.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Can you pull up LSU's offensive depth chart scroll scroll
- 28:17Speaker 1: this away, Thanks sir, Keep going, keep going, keep going
- 28:20Speaker 1: right there? All right, So I know if you're listening
- 28:23Speaker 1: to us on radio, you can't see this, So I'll
- 28:25Speaker 1: explain what we're looking at here, all right, So, our lads,
- 28:28Speaker 1: is a great tool. Great if you're looking for depth
- 28:31Speaker 1: charts in the NFL in college football as well.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Like, it's a really good tool. It's got typically it's
- 28:37Speaker 3: pretty spot on as well.
- 28:38Speaker 1: So I'll use this a lot when I'm doing games
- 28:41Speaker 1: to kind of see exactly like because we'll move it
- 28:43Speaker 1: if a guy's got more playing time whatever. So if
- 28:46Speaker 1: a call game to see kind of what the depth
- 28:48Speaker 1: chart is at the time, because the SID.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Typically gives you the.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Depth chart from game one, it's not the same, but
- 28:55Speaker 1: it also does this, And so if a.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Player is returning, it's in blue.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You can just go to that screen tatay, so they
- 29:02Speaker 1: can kind of see a little bit better on YouTube.
- 29:05Speaker 1: If a player is in blue, that means that he
- 29:07Speaker 1: is returning, means he was on your team a year ago,
- 29:12Speaker 1: all right. So for LSU offensively, it's got five guys,
- 29:17Speaker 1: well six if we count Kayden Durham that are returning
- 29:20Speaker 1: in the two deep. Six players total offensively in the
- 29:23Speaker 1: too deep, all right, if you're in like a pinkish red,
- 29:28Speaker 1: that means you're a true freshman. That means you're coming
- 29:31Speaker 1: in and you haven't been here before obviously, and you're
- 29:34Speaker 1: new to the program. LSU has two of those guys
- 29:38Speaker 1: right now in the pinkish reddish color. Okay, Now the
- 29:43Speaker 1: gold that means you played somewhere else a year ago.
- 29:46Speaker 1: That means you're new to the program.
- 29:48Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Here we go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
- 29:56Speaker 1: sixteen players in the two deep seventeen, nineteen, twenty twenty
- 30:01Speaker 1: one in the.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Three deep sixteen to twenty two and your you know,
- 30:06Speaker 4: your first string, second string as of right now, brand
- 30:10Speaker 4: new players on offense.
- 30:12Speaker 1: This offense, y'all, is a blank canvas. We have no
- 30:18Speaker 1: idea what it's going to be.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 30:20Speaker 1: He saw some spring practice, you know, Lane Kiffen and
- 30:23Speaker 1: his staff and what they like to do. So you're
- 30:26Speaker 1: taking that into account. You're trying to make an assessment.
- 30:29Speaker 1: But I bring it up so there's a visual so
- 30:32Speaker 1: you can see just how much new there is going
- 30:35Speaker 1: to be for LSU offensively and even the guys that
- 30:39Speaker 1: it has in blue. Like I don't think Weston Davis
- 30:43Speaker 1: is guaranteed anything. He's not promised anything, but Bordeline's not
- 30:46Speaker 1: promised anything. Brayler Moore's probably gonna be your center, Trade
- 30:50Speaker 1: is gonna be your tight end down here at running back,
- 30:54Speaker 1: Like Harlan Berry's gonna play a ton Kate and Durham's
- 30:56Speaker 1: gonna play a ton, but Dylan Jon's gonna play a ton.
- 30:58Speaker 1: So like, even in that line of it where there's
- 31:00Speaker 1: two guys returning, it's not anything guaranteed. So like the
- 31:04Speaker 1: whole point is outside of Trade as Green returning guys.
- 31:09Speaker 3: A lot of that's still up in the air.
- 31:12Speaker 1: There's gonna be a lot of new There's going to
- 31:15Speaker 1: be faces that we don't know. There's gonna be faces
- 31:17Speaker 1: that during training camp. The coaches haven't put them in
- 31:20Speaker 1: a pecking order yet. Like it is true competition every
- 31:24Speaker 1: single day in the summertime, just like it was in
- 31:27Speaker 1: the spring when they're out there working out. It is
- 31:29Speaker 1: going to be every single day. What are you going
- 31:32Speaker 1: to do to go earn your position today? We don't, like,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I just don't think we know anything about what it's
- 31:38Speaker 1: going to look like. Now Clemson doesn't know either, Like
- 31:41Speaker 1: Clemson's gonna have to try to figure out what it
- 31:43Speaker 1: looks like and who the personnel is outside of Trade
- 31:45Speaker 1: as Green as well. But that just kind of gives
- 31:48Speaker 1: you an idea of the complete reset that you had
- 31:52Speaker 1: to hit offensively, Tayte, pull that up real quick again
- 31:55Speaker 1: and go down to the defense, because the defense is
- 31:59Speaker 1: gonna have some for sure, but look at that.
- 32:01Speaker 3: A lot of blue, a lot of blue.
- 32:03Speaker 1: As far as returning players compare to the offense, sure
- 32:07Speaker 1: you've got some gold mixed in there. You've got five, six, seven,
- 32:10Speaker 1: You got eight in the twenty two, so double the
- 32:15Speaker 1: new players coming in on offense.
- 32:18Speaker 3: This is this is big time college football, right. Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 4: If you're not good at your job with so much
- 32:24Speaker 4: money on the line, you don't stay there for very long.
- 32:29Speaker 4: So defense was good, So we maintained most of our
- 32:33Speaker 4: coaches and most of the players return It didn't have
- 32:36Speaker 4: to replace a whole heck of a lot. I mean,
- 32:37Speaker 4: you see five, you got eight of the first and
- 32:40Speaker 4: second string defense are new people.
- 32:44Speaker 3: The rest are returners. You go up to offense.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Offense was historically bad, It was atrocious, it was embarrassing.
- 32:53Speaker 3: All those things are true. Zero coaches retained.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and an entirely new person and l So that
- 33:02Speaker 4: tells you where we're at with college football. If you're
- 33:05Speaker 4: not if you're not good, you get fired. We're gonna
- 33:07Speaker 4: bring new people in. We're gonna pay a lot of money.
- 33:10Speaker 4: That's okay, We're gonna pay a lot of money. Because
- 33:13Speaker 4: this is the tell the tape of what happened last year, right,
- 33:17Speaker 4: complete reset on offense, and it needed it, My god
- 33:20Speaker 4: didn't need it. But the biggest thing it needed was
- 33:23Speaker 4: a reset at the coaching Yeah. From a from a
- 33:26Speaker 4: scheme standpoint, what LSU fans are going to see against
- 33:28Speaker 4: Clemson You've never seen in an l s U offense
- 33:32Speaker 4: because Wayne has built his offense over years and years
- 33:35Speaker 4: of trials and tribulations and and figuring out what works
- 33:38Speaker 4: and what doesn't work within his scheme. Nobody else runs
- 33:41Speaker 4: a lane kivin offense except for lane Kivin. So it's
- 33:44Speaker 4: gonna be We know it's gonna be fast. LSU's never
- 33:48Speaker 4: seen a fast No, we've seen a hurry up situations.
- 33:52Speaker 4: We've seen a high tempo, fast paced situations. But from
- 33:57Speaker 4: an entire game standpoint, it's a race to see how
- 34:01Speaker 4: many snaps can you get? And like this type offensive
- 34:04Speaker 4: philosophy is like if I can get the more snaps
- 34:07Speaker 4: on offense, I can get, the more chances I have
- 34:09Speaker 4: to put points up. Yeah, and it's weirdre going to
- 34:12Speaker 4: make you play very vanilla in the way we do it.
- 34:15Speaker 4: And we've never seen anything like this. So LSU, when
- 34:18Speaker 4: you watch the offense take the field the first time.
- 34:21Speaker 4: You've never seen these players. You've never seen this offense,
- 34:24Speaker 4: So like, what are we gonna get? We have no clue.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we just hope.
- 34:27Speaker 4: It's going to be good. It better be good with
- 34:30Speaker 4: the amount of money invested.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And I think that the track record kind of speaks
- 34:34Speaker 1: for herself that you know, it's going to be a
- 34:36Speaker 1: much better product than you had a year ago. Now
- 34:39Speaker 1: maybe you can explain it better. There's a big difference
- 34:42Speaker 1: in like up tempo, no huddle, Like let's get to
- 34:47Speaker 1: the line and then look to the sideline, or let's
- 34:49Speaker 1: get to the line and let's make some checks. Yeah,
- 34:51Speaker 1: like this is different than that. Like this is true,
- 34:53Speaker 1: Like to your point, lsu Fens have never seen this before.
- 34:57Speaker 1: This is get the ball to the official spot the ball,
- 35:00Speaker 1: snap the ball. And I was talking with one of
- 35:03Speaker 1: the defensive guys a couple of weeks ago, and I'm like, hey,
- 35:06Speaker 1: how's the tempo been for y'all? He goes man, He's like,
- 35:09Speaker 1: they like these receivers and these you know, ball catchers,
- 35:12Speaker 1: they understand if you catch it outside of the hash,
- 35:16Speaker 1: outside of the numbers, Like there's a certain way to
- 35:17Speaker 1: give the official back the ball. If you catch it
- 35:19Speaker 1: in the middlefield, there's a way to spot the ball.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Like if you catch in the middle between the hashes,
- 35:23Speaker 1: like you spot the ball, immediately get on the ball,
- 35:25Speaker 1: right If you catch it outside of the hashes, it's
- 35:27Speaker 1: find the official, get them the ball, get on the
- 35:29Speaker 1: ball like. They practiced this and I talked about it
- 35:31Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. I love the fact that, dude,
- 35:34Speaker 1: you can make the best catch.
- 35:35Speaker 3: In the world.
- 35:35Speaker 1: There's no celebrating, like, there's no like you know, first down,
- 35:38Speaker 1: which look, I love a good a.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I love that. There ain't none of that though exactly yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 3: there's none of that. Okay, it's get on the ball, spot.
- 35:49Speaker 1: The ball, snap the ball, attack and they are trained
- 35:53Speaker 1: like I love all that.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I love all of it.
- 35:57Speaker 1: But they're not gonna have that because go back and
- 36:00Speaker 1: watch old miss from the last couple of years. You
- 36:03Speaker 1: can make a toe tapping, incredible catch on the best corner.
- 36:06Speaker 3: In the nation. Typically you gonna leave no a little bit.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Not this.
- 36:10Speaker 1: It is find the official, getting the ball, spot the ball,
- 36:13Speaker 1: go And it's something you learn from drum maybe feeling do.
- 36:17Speaker 3: It like as you line up, hurry up, exactly correctly.
- 36:24Speaker 3: What is it? We ever figured out what that is?
- 36:26Speaker 3: But I can't, mainly because I don't know what it is.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I'm into it and more did it and more the
- 36:31Speaker 3: first one to do it.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll say from like this, Now they do that.
- 36:35Speaker 5: I don't know it's it's evolved. Yeah, I like it.
- 36:38Speaker 3: She's right. The flip used to be vertical. Now it's like,
- 36:40Speaker 3: I don't know. I just don't know what it is.
- 36:42Speaker 5: I don't know what it is either, but I want
- 36:44Speaker 5: to do it every time.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I know is my two year old daughter, she's her
- 36:46Speaker 3: brother Harlow walking around.
- 36:48Speaker 5: I gotta see the video part.
- 36:52Speaker 4: The most like random celebrations that are created by males
- 36:58Speaker 4: and you know, eighteen to twenty five years old. I
- 37:00Speaker 4: assumed it came.
- 37:01Speaker 5: From some like a video game or something.
- 37:03Speaker 3: No like vulgar or derogatory.
- 37:06Speaker 4: I assume it has some undertone to that, but it's
- 37:09Speaker 4: like not real obvious.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I don't know what it is something like that. I
- 37:15Speaker 3: don't know what it is, but I assume.
- 37:16Speaker 4: You know, most celebrations that age group of males, red
- 37:21Speaker 4: blooded American males. You know, sometimes they like to make
- 37:24Speaker 4: each other laugh with some different subtle subtleties and.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Next time you see cam Ward you need to ask
- 37:29Speaker 5: him like, hey, where did this come from?
- 37:32Speaker 3: Yeah? I just want to do it. It's going to
- 37:34Speaker 3: be like cam sign my football card and explain the celebrations.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Just to see them at the line just hurrying up,
- 37:43Speaker 3: like lining up.
- 37:45Speaker 4: It's just like a fast forwards like as they're run
- 37:48Speaker 4: into the back.
- 37:51Speaker 3: Look if they do that, I don't care.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I don't want to Yeah, I just want to get
- 37:55Speaker 1: up and go because that is like that's your tool.
- 37:59Speaker 3: That is like we saw it.
- 38:01Speaker 1: A year ago, Like you can't bring all the stuff
- 38:04Speaker 1: that you want to bring against them because they line
- 38:05Speaker 1: up too damn fast. Yep, So you got to change
- 38:08Speaker 1: who you are, and that's what offensively, that's what you
- 38:10Speaker 1: want to do. You want to be the guy that
- 38:12Speaker 1: dictates the pace of the game and the flow of
- 38:15Speaker 1: the game. Oh yeah, you can't bring that safety from
- 38:17Speaker 1: depth because well that safety is just now getting lined up.
- 38:20Speaker 4: And I'll be so excited once the season actually does
- 38:22Speaker 4: start to be able to slow that down in the
- 38:25Speaker 4: film room too, and be able to show people exactly
- 38:29Speaker 4: what we mean about what the defense is not able
- 38:32Speaker 4: to do. Now we were I mean we saw it
- 38:34Speaker 4: against Ole miss Like looking at looking at the game
- 38:37Speaker 4: film of our defense versus them. You just have to
- 38:39Speaker 4: be so vanilla and so bland. And there's a difference
- 38:41Speaker 4: between Like there's regular no huddles. You can call them.
- 38:45Speaker 4: You can call it race car, you can call it
- 38:46Speaker 4: whatever you ask. Yeah, you can call it whatever it is.
- 38:50Speaker 4: But a lot most of the time it is some
- 38:52Speaker 4: sort of you know, receivers get on the line of scrimmage,
- 38:55Speaker 4: they don't ever come back to the huddle, but the
- 38:57Speaker 4: linemen turn around and they kind of muddle huddle a
- 38:59Speaker 4: little bit, and then you get up there and you
- 39:02Speaker 4: go fast to kind of to make the defense vanilla
- 39:06Speaker 4: for sure, but you go fast to be able to
- 39:08Speaker 4: see what they're trying to do. Now, you don't necessarily
- 39:10Speaker 4: always try to snap it fast. You can snap it
- 39:13Speaker 4: fast in a regular no huddle, but you're not like
- 39:16Speaker 4: you can still hardcount, you can trip like, you can
- 39:17Speaker 4: go in three, you can do all sorts of different things,
- 39:20Speaker 4: and you're really trying to get see what they're doing
- 39:24Speaker 4: so you can make an adjustment. Now in college, you
- 39:26Speaker 4: see the I hate it what they all everybody looks
- 39:29Speaker 4: at the sideline they hold up signs or do whatever
- 39:32Speaker 4: they do.
- 39:32Speaker 3: I hate all that stuff.
- 39:33Speaker 4: And the fake clap, of course, but that's the point
- 39:36Speaker 4: is to get up there, try to see what they're doing,
- 39:38Speaker 4: make a call and adjustment, and then it's the defensive job.
- 39:40Speaker 4: How big of a chess game do you want to play?
- 39:42Speaker 4: Do you want to make a change after they make
- 39:43Speaker 4: a change? Like you get into that whole situation, but
- 39:47Speaker 4: it's still an up tempo, but it's still a comfortable
- 39:51Speaker 4: pace for everybody. Yeah, you're just getting up there to
- 39:54Speaker 4: get them. In a little bit more bland situation. Now
- 39:57Speaker 4: with this ultra fast as many snaps, as probab gospel,
- 40:00Speaker 4: as fast as you can go, the defense has to
- 40:03Speaker 4: take another step down from what they can create. Like
- 40:06Speaker 4: in a no huddle situation, you can still have a
- 40:09Speaker 4: blitz package on defense, and you're still going to have
- 40:12Speaker 4: some sort of blitz package in a super fast no huddle,
- 40:15Speaker 4: but it is so much more bland. You can't do
- 40:18Speaker 4: anything creative. You can't have double a gap mugs, you
- 40:21Speaker 4: can't show one direction roll back to another, you can't
- 40:24Speaker 4: it's hard to bring a corner from the boundary, Like
- 40:27Speaker 4: it's hard to get creative with your blitzer, so that
- 40:29Speaker 4: makes your protections really easy. Yeah, you slide protect, but
- 40:34Speaker 4: the back clean up everybody else. It's like, it's one
- 40:36Speaker 4: of those situations where it's really simple calls, but you're
- 40:39Speaker 4: going against really simple calls. It's just at that point,
- 40:41Speaker 4: who can execute the basics of offense and defense? Who
- 40:45Speaker 4: can execute cover two versus a double stick better? Yeah,
- 40:49Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Who can execute cover three
- 40:51Speaker 4: versus line dragon? It's like, who can do these simple
- 40:56Speaker 4: things the best?
- 40:58Speaker 3: Man?
- 40:58Speaker 1: If you have the better dudes, usually you win. All right,
- 41:03Speaker 1: we'll take a break. Well done, sir, you're hovering over
- 41:07Speaker 1: that conversation. I appreciate it.

- 42:51Speaker 6: New Walm State. What the sweet all right?
- 43:03Speaker 3: Welcome back in ot B. No, No, yeah, what almost nine?
- 43:11Speaker 3: Oh my god, I completely forgot about it, I swear to.
- 43:15Speaker 5: Okay, how could you forget?
- 43:16Speaker 3: He tweeted, it, really, I swear to God.
- 43:18Speaker 5: And texted us last night.
- 43:19Speaker 3: No, I really did forget about though, like not even
- 43:21Speaker 3: to be funny.
- 43:22Speaker 1: So who sets a six thirty alarm for a nine
- 43:24Speaker 1: am appearance?
- 43:25Speaker 3: That's alarm when you live ten minutes still on the rope.
- 43:28Speaker 5: He's too excited, all right?
- 43:30Speaker 1: Uh before he comes in and messes everything up, Tommy
- 43:35Speaker 1: before I mean just gonna who I don't even know.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Who knows this would be the first time on with him,
- 43:41Speaker 3: huh for me? Yeah, yeah, God speed, thank you.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I did want to make sure I got this in today.
- 43:49Speaker 5: Any jokes.
- 43:49Speaker 1: By the way, Baseball lost the legend Bobby Cox on Saturday.
- 43:54Speaker 1: So the Braids lost Ted Turner. I did see that
- 43:57Speaker 1: their owner, you know who brought the Braids to Superstation.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Then Bobby Cox a few days later again, he passed
- 44:04Speaker 1: away on Saturday at the age of eighty four.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Y'all know me.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I'm a gigantic Atlanta Brais fan. And what Bobby Cox
- 44:12Speaker 1: like was? I mean one two World Series manager year,
- 44:16Speaker 1: four times, you know, Hall of Famer for the Brase
- 44:21Speaker 1: Hall of Fame, Baseball Hall of Fame, like you name it.
- 44:24Speaker 1: He has certainly done a lot of incredible things on
- 44:28Speaker 1: the baseball field, most ejections as well. So he got
- 44:32Speaker 1: his money's worth, There's no doubt about that. There was
- 44:35Speaker 1: like a twenty minute reel on social media after he
- 44:37Speaker 1: passed away of just him getting ejected.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Twenty minutes. It was incredible.
- 44:41Speaker 1: I had a chance to meet him and talk with him.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I forget like nine or ten, and somebody posted the picture.
- 44:47Speaker 1: I didn't even know there was a picture out there.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Somebody posted the picture of me when they came to
- 44:51Speaker 1: play the Padres that year. I went down and I
- 44:56Speaker 1: used to be one of the first investors in Maruci,
- 44:59Speaker 1: so I got a chance to like go down there
- 45:00Speaker 1: and like pass out the talk bats would like.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I'm trying to think. I think maybe Brian Giles was
- 45:07Speaker 3: using them.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I know Gonzalez was using them there for the Padres,
- 45:11Speaker 1: but Freddie Freeman was using them. But I got a
- 45:13Speaker 1: chance to go down there and like talk baseball with him.
- 45:16Speaker 1: It was incredible, And Bobby Cox gave me like five
- 45:18Speaker 1: minutes of his time, which he certainly didn't have to,
- 45:20Speaker 1: and got a chance to meet with him. And again
- 45:22Speaker 1: somebody posted that picture. Didn't even know that that or
- 45:25Speaker 1: remember that it existed. But that's awesome, absolute legend. If
- 45:31Speaker 1: you grew up a Braves fan, you just waited for
- 45:33Speaker 1: the moment that he was going to explode and come
- 45:35Speaker 1: out and dug out.
- 45:37Speaker 3: There's like so many great stories.
- 45:38Speaker 1: But I remember the Phillies had hit one of the
- 45:42Speaker 1: Braves batters, I think it was Otis Nixon, and then
- 45:45Speaker 1: they were about to go out and Tom Glabbins on
- 45:48Speaker 1: the mound and Bobby's like, hey, whoever's next? They just
- 45:51Speaker 1: hit Otis one of our best players, Go hit the
- 45:53Speaker 1: first guy up whoever it is, And it was Brave's
- 45:56Speaker 1: former Legendale Murphy was the guy that was up. And
- 45:59Speaker 1: Tom looks at Bobby, he goes, hey, it's Murph. He goes, yeah,
- 46:03Speaker 1: throw it at him.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 46:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so what.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Yeah, go get it back for your teammate. And so,
- 46:10Speaker 1: I mean, incredible stories over the weekend. Again, Bobby Cox
- 46:14Speaker 1: an absolute legend. Fourth most wins I believe all time
- 46:18Speaker 1: in Major League Baseball and somebody that certainly will always,
- 46:22Speaker 1: always always be remembered. Eighty four years old, passed away
- 46:25Speaker 1: on Saturday. So condules is to the Cox family. All right,
- 46:29Speaker 1: I remember three.
- 46:30Speaker 3: Come back here on O twob off the bench.
- 46:34Speaker 1: All right, Matthew, we got a new partner here. But
- 46:37Speaker 1: the only Gator that's going to be talked about on
- 46:40Speaker 1: this show in a positive light because they've earned that
- 46:43Speaker 1: is Jen Gators. You know what, because we had to
- 46:48Speaker 1: sit down with them and they blew us away. I mean,
- 46:49Speaker 1: when your power goes out, don't be the house on
- 46:52Speaker 1: the block sitting in the dark. You call Jen Gators
- 46:54Speaker 1: and they are going to be there for you. They
- 46:57Speaker 1: are a locally family I mean as family as family
- 47:01Speaker 1: can be locally owned company.
