- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:08Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes eight hundred and six through eight
- 0:13Speaker 1: hundred and eight, The Power of Satiety. This is Me
- 0:19Speaker 1: learning to pronounce that word for the first time, a
- 0:23Speaker 1: new Gear four form tank Man, a heartbreaking duel Loofy
- 0:28Speaker 1: versus Sonji Part one, and then a heartbreaking dul Loofy
- 0:32Speaker 1: versus Saudi Part two. In these episodes, I'm sad. I'm
- 0:38Speaker 1: a sad girl. I don't like to see my friends fighting.
- 0:41Speaker 1: This makes me so sad. I know that Sonji doesn't
- 0:45Speaker 1: mean it, but still, Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to
- 1:08Speaker 1: the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very much
- 1:11Speaker 1: to Bernadette for commissioning this episode. And Bernadette is here
- 1:15Speaker 1: in the chat says not caught up with the coverage,
- 1:17Speaker 1: but had time to join today. Hi glad to see
- 1:20Speaker 1: you you guys. Just full disclosure, I don't think that
- 1:26Speaker 1: this is going to affect my recording, but I started
- 1:30Speaker 1: to get a pretty awful migraine and like I almost canceled,
- 1:36Speaker 1: and then I took a medication and it seems to
- 1:40Speaker 1: have really helped, but it will sometimes leave me. I
- 1:45Speaker 1: feel like slurring my words is sort of exaggerating what
- 1:48Speaker 1: it is, but it'll make it. It causes I guess
- 1:51Speaker 1: it's called aphasia where speaking you know what I mean,
- 1:54Speaker 1: So if I sound weird might be that and I don't.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I think I'm okay, but that can happen sometimes, and
- 2:04Speaker 1: it's just I just don't like being reminded that I'm
- 2:08Speaker 1: like a prisoner in my own body and it can
- 2:11Speaker 1: kind of do whatever, and I don't get to control that.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So that's never fun. But I feel a lot better,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and I'm glad because I just really didn't want to
- 2:20Speaker 1: push these recordings off until tomorrow because I have a
- 2:23Speaker 1: lot to say about everything I'm covering today. I have
- 2:27Speaker 1: hit some pretty important sections in all my properties. So
- 2:34Speaker 1: let's see. Sarahim says, big mom is really trying to
- 2:37Speaker 1: keep you from getting to talk about this invasion of
- 2:39Speaker 1: her territory. Yeah, she is behind it, Florian, as always,
- 2:45Speaker 1: you sound lovely. Thank you, Florian. It's so funny to like,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you know, I know a lot of people are very
- 2:51Speaker 1: self conscious about the sound of their voice. I feel
- 2:53Speaker 1: like that's kind of gone away some now that we're
- 2:55Speaker 1: in a culture where people are recording themselves very frequently.
- 2:59Speaker 1: But I have like utterly forgotten, like how anybody feels
- 3:06Speaker 1: about my voice. It's I used to get compliments on
- 3:10Speaker 1: it when I first started the show, and I was
- 3:12Speaker 1: very like aware of it, and then you know, just
- 3:15Speaker 1: Florian saying that. Now I'm like, oh yeah, sometimes people
- 3:18Speaker 1: say they like my voice. I forgot about that, Bernadette.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Bodies are semi useless flesh sacks. I love mine. The
- 3:27Speaker 1: clumsy idiot, Bernadette. That is such a good attitude. The
- 3:33Speaker 1: clumsy idiot pat it on the head. You're doing your best, sweetie.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I know, I know, baby, you're trying. That's what I'm
- 3:41Speaker 1: gonna do. Thank you for that, for that perspective, Bernadette.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So this section, I'm gonna kind of talk about everything
- 3:52Speaker 1: as a group, because these episodes are very they're expanded
- 3:57Speaker 1: by lots of flashbacks with it's sort of weird. Actually,
- 4:02Speaker 1: at one point they flashed back to the scene that
- 4:05Speaker 1: we just flashed back to last episode or last section,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I guess, so I really was sort of like, Okay, guys, no,
- 4:13Speaker 1: but we know that we know this because you just
- 4:15Speaker 1: reminded us. We don't have to do this all again.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But it's Okay, it's fine. I just really hate whenever
- 4:25Speaker 1: you have somebody who's put in a position where they
- 4:28Speaker 1: feel like they have to behave a different way than
- 4:32Speaker 1: what they actually are like and what they believe and
- 4:36Speaker 1: where they want to be. It's always like, especially in
- 4:42Speaker 1: the case like this, where Sanji I think is just
- 4:49Speaker 1: trying to get his family's guard down. I don't believe
- 4:54Speaker 1: that he is really into being a royal now like
- 4:59Speaker 1: just saw all of us sudden turned a corner and
- 5:01Speaker 1: buys into any of this. I fully think that Sanji
- 5:04Speaker 1: is saying what he needs to say in front of
- 5:06Speaker 1: his family because he thinks all of his friends are
- 5:09Speaker 1: going to get fucking crushed and he wants them to
- 5:13Speaker 1: stay out of it for their own safety. And I
- 5:16Speaker 1: fully respect that, but I also feel like there's like,
- 5:23Speaker 1: this is the problem when you have a friend that's
- 5:26Speaker 1: like as good as Lufy is, you aren't going to
- 5:31Speaker 1: be able to say anything to get them to fuck
- 5:34Speaker 1: off because they are just a ride or die, And
- 5:38Speaker 1: like that is exactly what winds up happening is we
- 5:41Speaker 1: get to a place where Lufy just straight up is
- 5:44Speaker 1: like I am going to stay here until you fucking
- 5:48Speaker 1: come to your senses because there is no damn way
- 5:53Speaker 1: that I am going to keep going without you. It
- 5:56Speaker 1: is simply not happening. You are one of us, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: that is that. That is the end of the sentence.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And there isn't really a right move when it comes
- 6:08Speaker 1: to what to do in a situation like that. If
- 6:12Speaker 1: you have a friend who is just determined to have
- 6:14Speaker 1: your back through thick and thin and you really want
- 6:18Speaker 1: them to like stay out of it and mind their business,
- 6:22Speaker 1: there's not like what argument can you possibly make. So
- 6:26Speaker 1: I kind of felt for Sanji here because I get
- 6:28Speaker 1: the I if I'm going with my theory, which I am,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I understand the motivation behind the choices that he's making,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but I just feel how futile they are, and I
- 6:44Speaker 1: know that it's just killing him. I know Lufy doesn't
- 6:47Speaker 1: buy it either. Like Lufy, there's just a sense. Even Nami,
- 6:52Speaker 1: she comes up and slaps in, but it feels more
- 6:54Speaker 1: like we're slapping you because you're being an idiot. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: don't believe what you're saying either. I'm just irritated that
- 7:01Speaker 1: this is the way you were deciding to play it,
- 7:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and considering what Sanji has
- 7:11Speaker 1: recently learned about the fact that his family is like
- 7:15Speaker 1: first of all, that his own family is all engineered.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Is his father included in that? Actually? I guess I
- 7:25Speaker 1: would say, like his siblings are all engineered, But is
- 7:28Speaker 1: his father or is he just a regular human that
- 7:31Speaker 1: just happens to be massive. The sizing of people in
- 7:38Speaker 1: this world just keeps throwing me off because that guy
- 7:40Speaker 1: is huge, but his kids are like normal looking, So
- 7:43Speaker 1: I don't know. Sorry, Saraphim says. For all Lufy can
- 7:49Speaker 1: be a huge dump dumb most of the time, he
- 7:51Speaker 1: actually has some amazing emotional intelligence and ability to cut
- 7:54Speaker 1: through the bullshit to get what someone's true feelings are. Yeah, definitely, No,
- 7:57Speaker 1: his dad was the one who figured out how to
- 7:59Speaker 1: do it. Okay, that's what I thought. But just considering
- 8:04Speaker 1: what he has learned about the what his family is
- 8:07Speaker 1: capable of, I can't help but understand Sanji feeling like, oh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm not letting them get anywhere near this, like no way.
- 8:18Speaker 1: But also you know your friends, and you had to
- 8:23Speaker 1: know leaving a little note and saying don't come after me,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'm taking care of this myself. Was not going to
- 8:29Speaker 1: do the job. Bro, Like you had to know, So
- 8:34Speaker 1: I love it. Of course, this is like Lufy's entire
- 8:40Speaker 1: m o. I am here for it every time. But
- 8:46Speaker 1: I really do sympathize with the person that's on the
- 8:49Speaker 1: receiving end of this like unending loyalty, because it's not
- 8:54Speaker 1: convenient when you just want people to like let you
- 8:57Speaker 1: be self destructive or whatever. You know. I mean, this
- 9:01Speaker 1: is the thing about having friends that actually have your
- 9:04Speaker 1: back versus people who will just sort of like say
- 9:07Speaker 1: what you want them to say. Real friends call you
- 9:11Speaker 1: on your shit and slap you up if they need to,
- 9:16Speaker 1: in order to remind you that you don't get to
- 9:19Speaker 1: pull this kind of bullshit with them. You can play
- 9:23Speaker 1: act all you want, but they are not somebody to
- 9:26Speaker 1: play with. And I love that. I love that about Loufy.
- 9:30Speaker 1: I love that about like all the straw hats. They
- 9:32Speaker 1: all have had moments of just like okay, stop it,
- 9:37Speaker 1: get it together, get it together, stand up, you know,
- 9:40Speaker 1: like that kind of moment. And that's friendship. That's what
- 9:44Speaker 1: it is. It's everything. So I'm, like I said, I'm
- 9:51Speaker 1: kind of jumping around here on a lot of stuff,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but I'm gonna back up a bit and start at
- 9:56Speaker 1: the beginning when I did my intro, I said the
- 9:59Speaker 1: power of satiety, which again does not I always thought
- 10:04Speaker 1: it was pronounced say shitty. I had no idea satiety.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That does not sound right to me, but I believe you.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I did see though, when I when I searched power
- 10:19Speaker 1: of satiety, because I was looking for the pronunciation. He
- 10:26Speaker 1: says it at the beginning of the episode with the title.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I was like, is that the real pronunciation? And it
- 10:33Speaker 1: came up that this is alternately called the power of
- 10:36Speaker 1: a full stomach. And personally, that's like a way better title.
- 10:42Speaker 1: The power of satiety that does not feel like anything,
- 10:46Speaker 1: the power of a full stomach. Come on, man, that's
- 10:50Speaker 1: just like, so that's that's much more visceral, and I
- 10:53Speaker 1: mean that on every level. Just call it that. What
- 10:56Speaker 1: are we doing? Stop? So anyway, I get my wish
- 11:02Speaker 1: in terms of loofy, like being able to use the
- 11:10Speaker 1: uh what do you call it? The energy from the
- 11:14Speaker 1: biscuits to power. But this is a different thing than
- 11:22Speaker 1: what I was expecting. He key, so this is fourth gear,
- 11:28Speaker 1: but he already was in fourth gear. So this is
- 11:32Speaker 1: a new form that he can take within fourth gear.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Is that right? So fourth gear has bounced man, and
- 11:42Speaker 1: then if he's got a full stomach, tank man. This
- 11:49Speaker 1: is very encouraging, are e the likelihood of Loofy being
- 11:56Speaker 1: victorious in a place where everything is edible. That feels
- 12:04Speaker 1: like finding out that you have a new form that
- 12:07Speaker 1: you can use at this time. It could not be
- 12:11Speaker 1: better timing. I'm here for it. But when I said,
- 12:16Speaker 1: it doesn't really go where I was expecting in terms
- 12:19Speaker 1: of using up the energy, what I mean is I
- 12:22Speaker 1: was sort of expecting it to be the kind of
- 12:23Speaker 1: thing where Loofy is superpowered in his movements because of
- 12:30Speaker 1: the energy, but that it like kind of wears off
- 12:33Speaker 1: as he's working it off, so to speak, and that
- 12:36Speaker 1: his body would shrink as he was like fighting, And
- 12:40Speaker 1: really he pretty much stays the same size because like
- 12:43Speaker 1: he balloons up, he becomes humongous, and he stays that
- 12:49Speaker 1: size until way later he winds up like passing out
- 12:53Speaker 1: of sleep, and him and Nami are riding on Boum
- 12:57Speaker 1: to hole Cake Palace. Is it wholekeep? I can't remember
- 13:04Speaker 1: Chateau Chateau. I keep forgetting that they're calling it that.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But he's like still that size for quite a while
- 13:12Speaker 1: on that ride. Over and then eventually you start to
- 13:14Speaker 1: see him shrinking down and he becomes normal sized by
- 13:17Speaker 1: the time they get there. So it was just interesting
- 13:20Speaker 1: how it worked because it was like I was on
- 13:22Speaker 1: the right track, but the manifestation of it was just
- 13:26Speaker 1: really different. So Saraphim says, Yep, he's got multiple versions
- 13:31Speaker 1: of gear for. This was something that fandom was heavily
- 13:33Speaker 1: theorizing about when he specified bounce Man in dress Rosa.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Do you mean, Saraphim, that they were theorizing about there
- 13:42Speaker 1: being multiple versions of gear for, or that they were
- 13:44Speaker 1: theorizing about him eating and being bigger and using that
- 13:51Speaker 1: as like and what they might be Okay, gotcha, Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I I the whole idea of like the different gears
- 14:01Speaker 1: is sort of still not super clear to me. It's
- 14:07Speaker 1: like I'm getting it. It seems like it's just sort
- 14:09Speaker 1: of he uses the rubber man ability in a very
- 14:14Speaker 1: specific way with each gear, and that powers him in
- 14:17Speaker 1: a certain direction, and so Gear four is just him
- 14:22Speaker 1: overall becoming really big. Is the impression that I'm getting.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I may be wrong about like exactly what the basis
- 14:31Speaker 1: of gear four is, but I what the way that
- 14:37Speaker 1: he winds up handling. This is what he becomes big
- 14:46Speaker 1: enough that his attacks are super powerful, but like it's
- 14:50Speaker 1: not like punchy attacks. It's I am going to accept
- 14:57Speaker 1: your attack, absorb you into my body. And I say absorbed.
- 15:04Speaker 1: That's not quite right. But like when Cracker attacks him,
- 15:08Speaker 1: he shoves in his weapon and it gets stuck in
- 15:12Speaker 1: like the belly folds of Loofy, and he can't get
- 15:17Speaker 1: it back out again, and it like the more he's
- 15:20Speaker 1: pulling on it, Loufy pulls him in. And then at
- 15:24Speaker 1: this point, you know, we still have the Biscuit soldiers,
- 15:27Speaker 1: the last ones that Cracker had made, and Nami is
- 15:30Speaker 1: getting ready to draw rain down on them again in
- 15:34Speaker 1: order to soften them up, and Lufy tells her, hey,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I need them to stay hard because for the plan
- 15:39Speaker 1: that I've got, So don't do that. Just give me
- 15:41Speaker 1: a second. And he just.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Basically like like exhales and pushes this belly out and
- 15:52Speaker 2: shoots Cracker so hard that he goes through all his
- 15:57Speaker 2: own soldiers, a pretty.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Good number of the innocent bystander homies and I say
- 16:04Speaker 1: innocent with an asterisk obviously, and gets shot all the
- 16:10Speaker 1: way over to almost the chateau, like at the chateau.
- 16:14Speaker 1: They hear the commotion and see him land outside. That
- 16:19Speaker 1: is incredible. Look as somebody who has a belly the
- 16:27Speaker 1: idea that I could use it this way, it's very encouraging.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It's inspiring. I wish, I really do. And I just
- 16:38Speaker 1: anytime that there is a sort of weapon that uses
- 16:43Speaker 1: the offensive in an equal and opposite reaction that like
- 16:49Speaker 1: rebounds on the person who is attacking, it's just so elegant,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you know. I always like that. So this is it's
- 16:56Speaker 1: not really quite that, but it's close enough that I
- 17:00Speaker 1: really enjoyed it. So so when Cracker lands outside, it
- 17:09Speaker 1: had just been like a minute ago that Big Mom
- 17:13Speaker 1: is being informed that some of her other what are
- 17:18Speaker 1: the times, because there's like three dudes that are sort
- 17:22Speaker 1: of the and I feel like one of them is
- 17:24Speaker 1: called Smoothie. I can't remember what the name of the
- 17:29Speaker 1: other the third one is are they like generals or
- 17:33Speaker 1: like commanders? But it's like there's three dudes that are
- 17:37Speaker 1: sort of directly beneath her in the hierarchy, I think,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and Cracker is one of them. And so she hears
- 17:44Speaker 1: that like two of them are on their way, and
- 17:47Speaker 1: she's just wondering aloud. I wonder how it's going with Cracker,
- 17:51Speaker 1: and everybody's like, oh, I'm sure he'll have Lufy. I'll
- 17:53Speaker 1: handle like he'll bring Lufy's dead body to you shortly.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Sweet General slash Commanders. I think
- 18:05Speaker 1: I like Sweet Commanders. Sweet General for some reason is
- 18:11Speaker 1: making me think of like a brand name. I think
- 18:13Speaker 1: it maybe is General Mills coming in there. Oh my god,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Sarah. I'm put like an explanation for the
- 18:19Speaker 1: gear for gear whatever. It's just your basic shown in
- 18:23Speaker 1: power up system like Supercyan Bonk, Super Ultra six Path whatever,
- 18:28Speaker 1: Ninja Motor, whatever Naruto does, et cetera. Sarah, m you
- 18:32Speaker 1: are adorable. If you think that meant anything to me,
- 18:39Speaker 1: all of that could literally be made up and I
- 18:43Speaker 1: wouldn't know it. But you know, I get what you're
- 18:47Speaker 1: saying is just that you know there are different levels
- 18:50Speaker 1: that people can fight at and this is a common thing.
- 18:53Speaker 1: But it's just funny because all of the examples that
- 18:55Speaker 1: you gave them, just like, I do not know what
- 18:57Speaker 1: that means. The other the only thing that like I
- 19:02Speaker 1: think of is not really proportional, because I'm thinking of
- 19:07Speaker 1: like Pokemon evolutions, and that doesn't work because those are
- 19:10Speaker 1: permanent once you've evolved something that's like what it is?
- 19:13Speaker 1: So yeah, but I'm guessing like Naruto isn't isn't a
- 19:21Speaker 1: Ruta from uh dragon Ball? I almost said Powerball? You guys,
- 19:25Speaker 1: this is how like not connected with this? I am?
- 19:28Speaker 1: Is that? Where that that saying I often see like
- 19:33Speaker 1: tossed around. This isn't even my final form? Is that?
- 19:36Speaker 1: What that comes from? Is like they always say that
- 19:40Speaker 1: because there's another form that they've got up their sleeve.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Basically if so, oh if not, well I was close.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Probably Naruto is from Naruto? So sorry you guys. Everybody
- 20:01Speaker 1: listening who knows this stuff is probably just like what
- 20:04Speaker 1: are you doing? Watching one piece? I'm here because you
- 20:08Speaker 1: all apparently want me here. I don't know what to
- 20:11Speaker 1: tell you. Oh man, the final form thing is dragon Ball?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Okay okay? Uh is Naruto the thing where where people
- 20:27Speaker 1: run with their arms straight at their sides? Like this
- 20:30Speaker 1: is what I'm talking about, guys. When when I say
- 20:32Speaker 1: that I don't know anything, I know like memes, you know,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and that's all I know. That's like the osmosis thing. Uh,
- 20:40Speaker 1: Naruto is the Ninja anime. Okay, I I don't know
- 20:46Speaker 1: about like him being Ninja. I just know that somebody
- 20:50Speaker 1: will be running weird with their arms straight, and people
- 20:53Speaker 1: in comments will say, why are they running like Naruto though,
- 20:57Speaker 1: that kind of thing. So that's what That's what I know. Oh,
- 21:00Speaker 1: you know, not not super helpful. Oh man, I'm sorry, everybody.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So okay, So Bro lands outside
- 21:12Speaker 1: and everybody goes out to be like, what was that
- 21:16Speaker 1: literal meteor that just landed in our yard? And they
- 21:20Speaker 1: find Cracker Bro is fucked up, Like Loofy just destroyed
- 21:30Speaker 1: this dude. It's so weird because, like, we have seen
- 21:33Speaker 1: guys get destroyed by Loofy before, but there is something
- 21:39Speaker 1: about this one that really hits for me. And I
- 21:43Speaker 1: think maybe it's the fact that he traveled so far
- 21:47Speaker 1: away that people who had no idea the fight was
- 21:51Speaker 1: even really going this way are suddenly faced with like, oh,
- 21:56Speaker 1: he lost like in a vacuum, you know what I mean.
- 22:00Speaker 1: There's it's different for somebody to like fall in front
- 22:04Speaker 1: of Loofy and have the like white eyes and be
- 22:08Speaker 1: covered in like scratches and bruises. It's a different thing.
- 22:12Speaker 1: When this guy travels like a quarter mile, it's like
- 22:17Speaker 1: a weather event, him just landing, you know, bizarre, And
- 22:23Speaker 1: yet they can't even get him to talk, like it's
- 22:28Speaker 1: just accepted that they are in some trouble. Everybody fully
- 22:34Speaker 1: thought Cracker was going to be able to take care
- 22:36Speaker 1: of Loofy as a threat, and not only was he
- 22:40Speaker 1: not able to take care of Loufy, he got his
- 22:43Speaker 1: entire ass handed to him. So if we've got the
- 22:48Speaker 1: other sweet commanders, can you tell me what the other
- 22:57Speaker 1: one's name is, because you've got Cracker and Smooth the
- 23:01Speaker 1: I feel like they say the other one and I
- 23:03Speaker 1: can't remember. I'm trying to imagine exactly how this works
- 23:07Speaker 1: because Cracker, now granted, the fact that he's called Cracker,
- 23:13Speaker 1: really doesn't work. It should be Cookie. He should be
- 23:16Speaker 1: called Cookie, and then he could call his soldiers biscuit
- 23:20Speaker 1: soldiers and it would still kind of work. Him being
- 23:22Speaker 1: called Cracker and having biscuit soldiers. It doesn't like, I
- 23:26Speaker 1: don't think that. I feel like that's a translation thing
- 23:29Speaker 1: and somebody just didn't make a good call there. But
- 23:34Speaker 1: it's still related enough. When you hear that somebody is
- 23:38Speaker 1: named Cracker, I would think Okay, maybe they can do
- 23:41Speaker 1: something with bread like substances, and so that's you know,
- 23:46Speaker 1: with smoothie, I instantly think of blended fruit drink type things,
- 23:53Speaker 1: which I am not sure if this dude cook cracker
- 23:58Speaker 1: could make biscuits out of nothing. And I'm trying to
- 24:03Speaker 1: think about what somebody with a smoothie power could do
- 24:06Speaker 1: besides just making smoothies. Like if it's just I'm using
- 24:11Speaker 1: smoothies and I make soldiers out of liquid, I mean,
- 24:15Speaker 1: that's not nothing, but it's so similar that I feel
- 24:19Speaker 1: like that's not likely to be how it works. And
- 24:23Speaker 1: I am just kind of drawing a blank trying to
- 24:27Speaker 1: come up with this. You know, Katakori is the third one,
- 24:32Speaker 1: says Sarah Fem. Okay, that's why I didn't remember, because
- 24:37Speaker 1: it's not the name of a food that I recognize.
- 24:42Speaker 1: It may be the name of a food in Japanese,
- 24:45Speaker 1: but it just wasn't translated to anything in English specifically. Okay,
- 24:50Speaker 1: So I'm just sort of curious. My assumption that I'm
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'm operating on right now is that every single commander
- 25:06Speaker 1: Lufy is going to have to fight before he fights
- 25:09Speaker 1: Big Mom, and that might not be true. Actually, I
- 25:13Speaker 1: don't know. I've been sort of feeling that in terms
- 25:18Speaker 1: of the way that things go standard with the show.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Normally I would say each of our friends has to
- 25:28Speaker 1: fight these commanders, but that we don't have the entire
- 25:31Speaker 1: crew with us, because if we had everybody with us,
- 25:35Speaker 1: absolutely I would expect like Zoro and Frankie to be
- 25:39Speaker 1: split off and have to deal with other guys. We
- 25:43Speaker 1: do have our friends split up, but only in two groups,
- 25:48Speaker 1: and one of them is much less in like a
- 25:51Speaker 1: place where they're going to be fighting at least for
- 25:53Speaker 1: right now. At least for right now temporarily, because we
- 25:58Speaker 1: see the witch Brulet like dragging in that what was it,
- 26:07Speaker 1: the crocodile and the rabbit into the mirror world, So
- 26:12Speaker 1: I guess they're going to be fighting, maybe sooner or
- 26:15Speaker 1: rather than later, but it's yeah, so I'm interested. Maybe
- 26:20Speaker 1: those like commanders won't actually be a factor until later.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Maybe it won't be like Lufy has to fight the
- 26:27Speaker 1: mini bosses to get to the main boss. You know
- 26:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Seraphim says, Katakori is the name of
- 26:36Speaker 1: a type of flower made from a plant of the
- 26:39Speaker 1: same name. That is so interesting. I'm always really fascinated
- 26:45Speaker 1: when I hear about foods that I have no familiarity with,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and there's a lot of them. There's a whole lot
- 26:51Speaker 1: out there that I have yet to try. And I
- 26:53Speaker 1: wish that I had more money just purely to go
- 26:56Speaker 1: to like different restaurants, but I can't forward to try
- 27:00Speaker 1: a lot of things. It's unfortunate, but I had never
- 27:06Speaker 1: heard of Okay, look, I'm so sorry, guys, but I
- 27:09Speaker 1: have to kata corey and I'm gonna just put flour
- 27:13Speaker 1: so that I don't get any one piece spoilers. Oh,
- 27:17Speaker 1: it's made from potatoes, so pokata corry is. I wonder
- 27:21Speaker 1: if it's like a specific type of potato or if
- 27:25Speaker 1: it's just potatoes in general. And it's used to thicken
- 27:31Speaker 1: things sort of in the same vein as like corn starch.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And it's also used as a batter on fried foods
- 27:41Speaker 1: and to make noodles, So basically potato starch straight up. Okay,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I am so going to try this. Yeah, definitely. It's
- 27:58Speaker 1: also to prevent foods from sticking, such as daifuku and mochi.
- 28:04Speaker 1: So when you get mochi and it's like got that
- 28:06Speaker 1: powder on it, that's the one that it's potato starch
- 28:12Speaker 1: that they're using for that. This is so interesting. You
- 28:17Speaker 1: have to temper it when you add it to soup
- 28:19Speaker 1: to thicken the soup, it will clump up, apparently like
- 28:23Speaker 1: regular flower does. So mix it in cold water in
- 28:25Speaker 1: a separate bowl and then pour it into the soup.
- 28:31Speaker 1: For kara g I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right.
- 28:33Speaker 1: It's spelled ka r aa ge and deep fried foods.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I highly recommend using potato starch instead of corn starch.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It'll give a wonderful crispy and crunchy texture. This is
- 28:44Speaker 1: from just onecookbook dot com and they have a bunch
- 28:49Speaker 1: of They have some recipes that are specific for using this.
- 28:56Speaker 1: That is so interesting, guys. I ah, I love learning
- 29:01Speaker 1: about this shit. I don't know what I should do
- 29:05Speaker 1: about it. If there's just like an an international food
- 29:08Speaker 1: course I could take. I'm reading a book on my
- 29:11Speaker 1: downtime right now. I'm actually physically reading it, not listening
- 29:14Speaker 1: to it, because it's a book that is centered around
- 29:21Speaker 1: a Filipino woman and her family who own a Filipino
- 29:27Speaker 1: restaurant and the number of foods that they just mention
- 29:31Speaker 1: in reel Off that I have literally never heard of,
- 29:34Speaker 1: and I want to try. Like things sound so good
- 29:37Speaker 1: and I haven't even heard of these things. There's so
- 29:41Speaker 1: much out there, and I just want to know. And
- 29:45Speaker 1: I wish that there was like a course that I
- 29:49Speaker 1: could sign up for that I could afford and just
- 29:52Speaker 1: be like led through, Like here are the foods that
- 29:54Speaker 1: they use this ingredient for. Try all six varieties, you know,
- 29:58Speaker 1: something like that where you get really held by the
- 30:00Speaker 1: hand and shown all the ways something is used. I'm
- 30:03Speaker 1: into it. Karaj is how it is pronounced, I believe,
- 30:08Speaker 1: says Bernadette. Oh my god, that food tangents everybody is
- 30:13Speaker 1: celebrating in the chat. Well, I'm glad that you actually
- 30:15Speaker 1: are interested in the food tangents because sometimes I feel
- 30:18Speaker 1: like this is just for me, but I hope that
- 30:20Speaker 1: it's interesting because like, I don't know how many people
- 30:23Speaker 1: listening actually know this stuff either. There's plenty of stuff
- 30:26Speaker 1: that I know from experience. I will be consuming pop
- 30:31Speaker 1: culture and there will be something mentioned and I won't
- 30:34Speaker 1: go and look it up, and I'll just let it
- 30:35Speaker 1: wash over me, and it's like literally years later, I'll
- 30:38Speaker 1: find out, oh that meant something, you know, like probity
- 30:42Speaker 1: probes in Harry Potter. I did not know the word probity.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I had no idea that was a real word. So
- 30:48Speaker 1: I thought she was just doing like probe twice. And
- 30:52Speaker 1: it turns out it's like a really great name because
- 30:54Speaker 1: it's probody probe. Like, look, I hate her, but that
- 30:58Speaker 1: was a pretty good one. Florien says, I never thought
- 31:02Speaker 1: about Kategory's name. Yeah. So, like if we're talking about
- 31:06Speaker 1: category as a potato starch, which you know, I don't
- 31:13Speaker 1: what this is, basically, I'm assuming is going to be
- 31:16Speaker 1: just kind of like a flower based sort of ability.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Flower is I wonder about this with potato starch specifically,
- 31:29Speaker 1: even though we may not be following those rules in
- 31:33Speaker 1: this universe. But oh, Sarahim says, he is the Minister
- 31:38Speaker 1: of flower. Okay, so I don't know how many people
- 31:42Speaker 1: know this, but flower is volatile and will explode not
- 31:51Speaker 1: super easily, but a lot more easily than you would think.
- 31:57Speaker 1: And it was the reason for a like particularly horrific
- 32:01Speaker 1: fire that happened in a factory where I believe it was,
- 32:06Speaker 1: you know, in the fucking twenties or something at a
- 32:09Speaker 1: time where they would actually change shut the doors of
- 32:13Speaker 1: like factories and shit with their workers inside. And I
- 32:18Speaker 1: can't remember because I feel like the name of that
- 32:20Speaker 1: fire was quite famous. But flower is when it's like
- 32:27Speaker 1: in the air, is super dangerous. You really do not
- 32:33Speaker 1: want to be around it because like a tiny spark
- 32:36Speaker 1: can just ignite everything. It's crazy to me, actually that
- 32:41Speaker 1: that is how that works, because I would just never
- 32:44Speaker 1: expect it. And it's something about the like static that
- 32:47Speaker 1: it creates. I don't know, but it's that could be
- 32:53Speaker 1: a pretty interesting attack from a flower based uh like
- 33:00Speaker 1: ill set. So maybe that's it. Oh, Seraphim says he
- 33:07Speaker 1: is the Minister of Flower, like pudding is the Minister
- 33:10Speaker 1: of chocolate. I don't think I knew she was the
- 33:13Speaker 1: Minister of chocolate. Seraphim did. They must have mentioned that
- 33:17Speaker 1: and I just forgot. Oh, she's the Minister of chocolate.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I love that so much. What a great job. Can
- 33:27Speaker 1: you imagine? Guys? I'm sorry slight other food tangent, but
- 33:33Speaker 1: some of you maybe saw there was something circulating that
- 33:37Speaker 1: I also have shared a few times. There are really
- 33:41Speaker 1: dangerously high levels of lead in a lot of commercial
- 33:46Speaker 1: ground cinnamon out there, and Consumer Reports did a an
- 33:51Speaker 1: investigation on what brands had how many parts per million
- 33:56Speaker 1: and posted results and recommendations for which brands seemed the safest.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Like one of the most easy to access and safest
- 34:06Speaker 1: brands was the Whole Foods three sixty five brand cinnamon.
- 34:10Speaker 1: It is wild, though, that whether something is organic or
- 34:15Speaker 1: not had no effect on how much lead was in it,
- 34:18Speaker 1: so that's no guarantee of anything. It turns out chocolate
- 34:25Speaker 1: is super high in both lead and cadmium a lot
- 34:30Speaker 1: of the time, and I mean lowest quality Hershey chocolate
- 34:36Speaker 1: is particularly high. But I was genuinely kind of shocked
- 34:40Speaker 1: at some of the brand names that I saw on
- 34:42Speaker 1: that list because I expected those to be you know,
- 34:45Speaker 1: we've got some fair trade stuff that's on the list
- 34:49Speaker 1: that I know they are are monitoring things more than
- 34:53Speaker 1: the average chocolate brand, and I was thinking they would
- 34:56Speaker 1: not have this issue at all, and it's something that
- 34:59Speaker 1: evidently they can't all have like as much control over sometimes.
- 35:05Speaker 1: But I just wanted to warn everybody. Go check out
- 35:08Speaker 1: the consumer reports, the one for the spices, and the
- 35:11Speaker 1: amount of lead in both spices and dried herbs, the
- 35:19Speaker 1: top offenders were. I was blown away by this ground
- 35:25Speaker 1: time and dried oregano. I never thought that herbs would
- 35:31Speaker 1: be at all an issue, but there was not a
- 35:35Speaker 1: single brand that Consumer Reports tested of dried time or
- 35:40Speaker 1: regano that wasn't above the limit in that stated in
- 35:47Speaker 1: California for lead. Apparently California is the only state that
- 35:53Speaker 1: really gives a shit, and the rest of US abide
- 35:55Speaker 1: by a legal level that's a lot higher. So anyway,
- 36:02Speaker 1: the Consumer Reports for the spices and herbs was from
- 36:05Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. It's a little older. I don't know
- 36:08Speaker 1: what kind of changes have happened since then, but the
- 36:11Speaker 1: ones for chocolate that was only twenty twenty three and
- 36:14Speaker 1: twenty twenty four that they updated that, so that's a
- 36:17Speaker 1: lot more recent. So anyway, guys, I just wanted to
- 36:19Speaker 1: mention it because I was a little freaked out. I
- 36:22Speaker 1: was surprised at how many brands weren't safe that I
- 36:25Speaker 1: really would have thought would be higher quality stuff, and
- 36:30Speaker 1: things that were I literally had in my pantry that
- 36:33Speaker 1: I went in and threw away. And this is all
- 36:36Speaker 1: based on the accepted serving size of that spice as well.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So if you're somebody like me who uses a lot
- 36:44Speaker 1: more spice than the average person, you're getting even higher
- 36:48Speaker 1: levels of these heavy metals in your food. So just
- 36:52Speaker 1: be aware and do what you can to avoid adding
- 36:58Speaker 1: yet another fucking thing to your system. Sorry, Florian says,
- 37:06Speaker 1: we Swiss eat nineteen point four pounds of chocolate a
- 37:10Speaker 1: person a year. Is that higher than the US? I'm
- 37:16Speaker 1: going to guess it is that we probably have like
- 37:20Speaker 1: a variety of candy that we go for more than
- 37:23Speaker 1: even chocolate. Bernadette, not me running to Google to figure
- 37:26Speaker 1: out if this is the problem in the EU. Also, yeah,
- 37:28Speaker 1: apparently they're like every country, of course, has its different
- 37:33Speaker 1: acceptable levels. But there was like some sort of lawsuit
- 37:37Speaker 1: that came from a watchdog company in general, and they
- 37:43Speaker 1: required a certain limit and a lot of these companies
- 37:47Speaker 1: are staying below that limit, but that limit is quite
- 37:50Speaker 1: high and if you are consuming you know, this was
- 37:54Speaker 1: an issue that kind of came to light because a
- 37:56Speaker 1: bunch of kids were suffering from weird symptoms that they
- 38:01Speaker 1: discovered eventually was lead poisoning due to eating this prepackaged
- 38:07Speaker 1: apple sauce. They ate a lot of it every day,
- 38:10Speaker 1: and that apple sauce used cinnamon that was super high
- 38:15Speaker 1: in lead. And it's a weird thing where with like chocolate.
- 38:19Speaker 1: That lead is accumulated from the environment surrounding where the
- 38:23Speaker 1: pods are and gets like on the outside of the pod,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and then when they are ground up, it's just mixed
- 38:29Speaker 1: in but with spices. A lot of the time that
- 38:33Speaker 1: lead is added on purpose to increase the weight so
- 38:36Speaker 1: that it will be more profitable. And one of the
- 38:42Speaker 1: companies that was found out further investigation brought to light
- 38:47Speaker 1: that they add lead specifically to shipments in countries where
- 38:52Speaker 1: their standards are lower, and they sent one of those
- 38:57Speaker 1: shipments intended for a different country to us by mistake.
- 39:02Speaker 1: So they make it less safe to make more money
- 39:07Speaker 1: to places that don't require So it's a it's a
- 39:11Speaker 1: great example of why we need regulations. Anybody who complains
- 39:14Speaker 1: about things being overregulated is insane because if they aren't regulated,
- 39:18Speaker 1: that's exactly what they will do, is they will had
- 39:21Speaker 1: more lead to make money. They don't fucking care, they
- 39:24Speaker 1: just don't. So anyway, sorry to go on this tangent, guys,
- 39:29Speaker 1: but you know food Florian says, we are the highest
- 39:35Speaker 1: in the world when it comes to eating chocolate. Oh amazing.
- 39:39Speaker 1: And tip the chocolate that was the highest in lead
- 39:43Speaker 1: tended to be chocolate that was highest in percentage of
- 39:46Speaker 1: overall cacao. So if it was like an eighty percent bar,
- 39:50Speaker 1: it was going to be much more likely to be
- 39:52Speaker 1: higher in lead than like milk chocolate because it's coming
- 39:56Speaker 1: from the cacao. So the more cacava is in the bar,
- 39:58Speaker 1: you know, so probably if you eat dark chocolate for
- 40:03Speaker 1: it being healthier, rethink that, look up the brands that
- 40:08Speaker 1: are actually healthier, and proceed from there, Sarahim says, And
- 40:15Speaker 1: this is why you should just live in total land
- 40:16Speaker 1: and give Big Mom a portion of your life. She
- 40:18Speaker 1: cares about food standards. Yeah, it's a look. I the
- 40:23Speaker 1: whole idea that Big Mom is like I want to
- 40:25Speaker 1: make everybody a giant so that we can just have
- 40:27Speaker 1: a tea party is honestly a whole vibe. I can't
- 40:30Speaker 1: even be that mad about it. I want to be
- 40:34Speaker 1: I want to be like girl that's wrong, But like
- 40:37Speaker 1: then they'll get invited to a big tea party. I
- 40:40Speaker 1: don't feel like they're gonna be that mad either, probably
- 40:43Speaker 1: be pretty fun. M So okay, getting back to everything,
- 40:51Speaker 1: I'm trying to because there's so many things that I
- 40:54Speaker 1: have sort of like talked about in a general way,
- 40:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna just brief talk about Chopper and Carrot because
- 41:03Speaker 1: there's not a lot going on with them in these episodes.
- 41:06Speaker 1: But like Brule catches up with them, they wind up
- 41:09Speaker 1: running away, and she, like I mentioned, brings in that
- 41:14Speaker 1: crocodile and the rabbit to like chase them down. I
- 41:18Speaker 1: am sort of puzzled at the fact that she's like
- 41:21Speaker 1: right next to them a couple times but seems to
- 41:23Speaker 1: be unable to like stop them in you know what
- 41:27Speaker 1: I mean. And they're trying to get Sanji's attention. At
- 41:31Speaker 1: one point, they're in the same hallway with him and
- 41:36Speaker 1: he does not see them and they have to just
- 41:38Speaker 1: like watch him walk away. So I was thinking that
- 41:42Speaker 1: they were going to be audible from the other side
- 41:46Speaker 1: of the mirror, because they are audible, like when Nami
- 41:49Speaker 1: picks up the mirror that she has with her, she's
- 41:52Speaker 1: got like a shard of it. She can still talk
- 41:55Speaker 1: to them through that. But evidently they're not able to
- 42:01Speaker 1: either be loud enough because they're worried about attracting attention
- 42:05Speaker 1: from other people, or they come through more quietly than
- 42:10Speaker 1: I was thinking. And like I said, a lot of
- 42:17Speaker 1: this episode when we are with Sanjy is just spent
- 42:21Speaker 1: with him thinking about his life, and we get a
- 42:25Speaker 1: flash It's so funny, you guys. We get a flashback
- 42:29Speaker 1: of that dude who came in with the worst villain
- 42:34Speaker 1: of all time, don Kreeg. I hate this. It was
- 42:38Speaker 1: so weird to watch this flashback with the dub voice
- 42:44Speaker 1: actor as well, because I watched it back when I
- 42:48Speaker 1: was still doing the subtitles. By the way, I just
- 42:52Speaker 1: so prefer the dub at this point. I can't even
- 42:54Speaker 1: tell you, but I will say that the voice actor
- 42:58Speaker 1: they chose for Don Kreeg for the dub, it's a
- 43:02Speaker 1: weird choice. He has like an oddly high pitched voice.
- 43:06Speaker 1: There's just something about the voice that doesn't fit, and
- 43:09Speaker 1: he seems it makes him seem like less of a
- 43:14Speaker 1: threat somehow, and it reminded me just how boring Don
- 43:20Speaker 1: Kreeg is. I was watching this and Marshall happened to
- 43:23Speaker 1: walk into the room and I was like, Oh, yeah,
- 43:28Speaker 1: this flashback it's about to dun Creek is going to
- 43:31Speaker 1: show up the worst villain of this whole show. And
- 43:34Speaker 1: he was like why, and I was like, because he's
- 43:35Speaker 1: literally so boring. His whole thing is just like I've
- 43:37Speaker 1: got lots of guns, and Marshall sort of laughed, and
- 43:41Speaker 1: then as soon as I press play again, it's Don
- 43:44Speaker 1: Creek being like weapons that are, you know, the strongest,
- 43:48Speaker 1: are what make you survive, And instantly Marshall was like, oh, yeah,
- 43:53Speaker 1: this guy sucks, and I just could not stop laughing
- 43:56Speaker 1: because it was just it was so immediate that like, yeah,
- 43:59Speaker 1: fuck this dude. But yeah, So we get this flashback
- 44:05Speaker 1: and just the reminder of the first time that Sonji
- 44:10Speaker 1: ever spoke to Lufy, where Lufy is just watching soany
- 44:15Speaker 1: literally like feed an enemy because he has that much
- 44:19Speaker 1: principle about people not going hungry that whether or not
- 44:23Speaker 1: that dude was a hazard to him and his people,
- 44:28Speaker 1: oh well, you know, he's starving to death, and so
- 44:31Speaker 1: we're still going to give him some food. And I
- 44:33Speaker 1: had forgotten that. It's like Lufy is watching that whole exchange,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and it's not the way that, like a lot of
- 44:41Speaker 1: times when TV is portraying that a main character is
- 44:47Speaker 1: watching something happen, we're sort of seeing it from over
- 44:49Speaker 1: their shoulder or from their POV, and that's not what
- 44:54Speaker 1: happens in this. It's like we're just with Soanji, and
- 44:57Speaker 1: he's just going about his business eating this guy, and
- 45:01Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, Loofy speaks and the camera
- 45:04Speaker 1: turns to him, and he's been keeping his eye on
- 45:06Speaker 1: things the whole time, which I kind of like because
- 45:09Speaker 1: there is a sense of when the camera is in
- 45:13Speaker 1: a different place there you almost wonder, like, does the
- 45:18Speaker 1: person know they're being observed? Am I supposed to interpret
- 45:22Speaker 1: this as them being like aware they're being watched as
- 45:27Speaker 1: they do this, And it was just very very clear
- 45:31Speaker 1: that's not what's happening here. Sanji has no idea anybody's
- 45:34Speaker 1: paying attention, and he's just doing what he thinks is
- 45:37Speaker 1: right without any care about whether or not somebody is
- 45:41Speaker 1: watching and judging. So oh, sorry, Bernadette. The cocoa plant
- 45:50Speaker 1: leach is letting cadmium from the ground. Naturally, That's why
- 45:52Speaker 1: tobacco is so bad. It absorbs radioactive material, which when
- 45:56Speaker 1: you inhale it starts giving you cancer. For coco, it
- 45:59Speaker 1: depends on what soil the plants grow in, yes, And
- 46:02Speaker 1: that's part of the thing, is like there are apparently
- 46:07Speaker 1: some brands that are stricter about the quality of the
- 46:11Speaker 1: soil the plants are grown in, which is you know,
- 46:14Speaker 1: and the filtering of the water that they are watered
- 46:18Speaker 1: with as well, and I am sure it is a
- 46:22Speaker 1: massive undertaking to make the kinds of changes necessary to
- 46:26Speaker 1: lower the lead levels. They're also working on breeding cocoa
- 46:29Speaker 1: plants that absorb less lead. So but that's you know,
- 46:34Speaker 1: fucking years from now probably that that'll start to be
- 46:36Speaker 1: a thing. But anyway, okay, so that's pretty much like
- 46:42Speaker 1: Sanji isn't doing much this episode until Lufy shows up.
- 46:48Speaker 1: It's just him in the carriage reflecting, and we have
- 46:52Speaker 1: like the carriage with him in the middle, seeded between
- 46:57Speaker 1: his brothers and his father like facing him, I think,
- 47:02Speaker 1: and he's given the instruction to like wave to people
- 47:07Speaker 1: and greet them because as they're traveling down the road,
- 47:11Speaker 1: everybody knows where he's going and why he's going there.
- 47:14Speaker 1: They all know that this is like the wedding procession
- 47:16Speaker 1: starting basically, and they are all very excited. And his
- 47:20Speaker 1: father wants him to lean into his role as a
- 47:25Speaker 1: royal who is about to get married, that this is
- 47:28Speaker 1: supposed to be kind of like a spectacle for everybody,
- 47:31Speaker 1: and that he knows that, and so you have a
- 47:34Speaker 1: performance that you need to do, and Sanji is just
- 47:38Speaker 1: super not interested. He is he's here doing the thing
- 47:45Speaker 1: because he feels like he has to in order to
- 47:48Speaker 1: not get his friends hurt. But his cooperation to this
- 47:53Speaker 1: point is as much as he's really willing to do,
- 47:56Speaker 1: and so being asked to go even further and behave
- 47:59Speaker 1: as if he's enjoying this is a whole other ask
- 48:02Speaker 1: and he's just like, I'm not fucking come on, man.
- 48:06Speaker 1: It's just very funny because he won't. But then when
- 48:10Speaker 1: Lufy shows up, Key behaves as if he is leaning
- 48:16Speaker 1: into it, and I was like, well, then you better
- 48:18Speaker 1: start waving, my guy. I also can't get enough of
- 48:22Speaker 1: how he is in this special outfit for the wedding,
- 48:27Speaker 1: but he has still got his cigarette in his mouth
- 48:29Speaker 1: that's never going away. I'm just imagining him literally walking
- 48:33Speaker 1: down the aisle smoking a cigarette, and it is giving
- 48:37Speaker 1: trailer park boys so much. And I just find that, like,
- 48:41Speaker 1: I really will be surprised if he doesn't have the
- 48:45Speaker 1: cigarette at the wedding. I'm very hopeful that he will
- 48:49Speaker 1: still have it. And then we have Loofy show up
- 48:58Speaker 1: and he like it's funny because the way that he
- 49:03Speaker 1: is behaving about this is sort of earlier, when he's
- 49:09Speaker 1: talking to Nami about the way that Sanji handled leaving.
- 49:14Speaker 1: He says something like, he just left us a stupid note,
- 49:18Speaker 1: and he thought that we were just gonna let him
- 49:21Speaker 1: go off and we weren't going to end Movie's one
- 49:24Speaker 1: hundred percent right about that. Like, Sanji, I understand why
- 49:29Speaker 1: you did it the way that you did it. I'm
- 49:31Speaker 1: not mad at you, but you had to know that
- 49:35Speaker 1: they were coming after you, like there's just a given
- 49:38Speaker 1: of course they will. And I guess it was simply
- 49:42Speaker 1: dependent on how long it took for the rest of
- 49:47Speaker 1: the crew to defeat Do Flamingo because he gets taken
- 49:53Speaker 1: by uh, what's his name? Oh my god, I keep
- 49:59Speaker 1: forgetting his name, the one that's capone, but they call
- 50:02Speaker 1: him like Benji or something. That all happens while they're
- 50:08Speaker 1: still Undress Rosa, right, while Lufy and the rest of
- 50:11Speaker 1: the crew is in capone Beje so Sara faim right right, right, right.
- 50:18Speaker 1: So maybe if like things on Dress Rosa had taken longer,
- 50:24Speaker 1: he would have had time to get married before they
- 50:28Speaker 1: were able to catch up. But as it has shaken
- 50:32Speaker 1: out here, they are so Lufy runs right up to
- 50:35Speaker 1: the carriage. There's no there's no attempt at secrecy or
- 50:43Speaker 1: stealth at all, And I'm not mad at it because
- 50:48Speaker 1: that time has passed, like the whole thing that they
- 50:50Speaker 1: had set up. I liked that there is In the
- 50:56Speaker 1: conversation with Nami, Lufy says something like he didn't meet
- 51:00Speaker 1: us at the beach like Putting said, So I don't
- 51:04Speaker 1: know if it was a trap or if I or
- 51:09Speaker 1: if like something has just gone wrong. I don't know either, guys.
- 51:15Speaker 1: I have really been like giving it a lot of
- 51:22Speaker 1: credit that storyline with Putting and that she actually is
- 51:26Speaker 1: trying to help them and us. Seeing how she has
- 51:30Speaker 1: been surrounded by people in order to like put together
- 51:34Speaker 1: her wedding clothes and whatnot, does give credence to the
- 51:38Speaker 1: idea that she was simply unable to get away there.
- 51:42Speaker 1: There was just simply no way that she was going
- 51:44Speaker 1: to be able to meet up with Sangi and smuggle
- 51:46Speaker 1: him out. She is constantly surrounded by folks and not
- 51:51Speaker 1: free to do what she wants. So I am still
- 51:55Speaker 1: believing that this was in good faith and she didn't know.
- 51:58Speaker 1: She wanted to help, but she simply couldn't do it.
- 52:02Speaker 1: But there is the possibility that she sent them knowing
- 52:09Speaker 1: it was a trap, and she really wants to marry
- 52:12Speaker 1: Sangy and is excited to be doing this stuff with
- 52:16Speaker 1: all the wedding clothes because she is fully intending to
- 52:20Speaker 1: go through with the wedding. It may be that like
- 52:24Speaker 1: pudding is bad actually, or at least just selfish, and
- 52:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't be mad about that as like a plot development.
- 52:32Speaker 1: It would be kind of interesting. I personally hope that's
- 52:36Speaker 1: not the case, but I did appreciate Lufy being willing
- 52:40Speaker 1: to give the benefit of the doubt on that and
- 52:43Speaker 1: sort of be like, we don't know exactly what's going on.
- 52:45Speaker 1: It could it's not necessarily that we were double crossed,
- 52:49Speaker 1: because Lufi just does that. He is somebody who gives
- 52:52Speaker 1: the benefit of the doubt even when people don't really
- 52:53Speaker 1: deserve it, you know. And I am still siding with
- 52:58Speaker 1: putting four now until further notice. But him running straight
- 53:05Speaker 1: up to the carriage like under other circumstances, I might
- 53:08Speaker 1: be kind of like, what are you doing? But there's
- 53:11Speaker 1: just no point in trying to sneak him out. Now
- 53:15Speaker 1: he is surrounded by people, even more so than before
- 53:19Speaker 1: when he was in the castle, there was some occasional
- 53:21Speaker 1: privacy in his own rooms, you know, but he is
- 53:25Speaker 1: not only surrounded by family here. There's also like the
- 53:29Speaker 1: whole crowd of commoners that they're driving through, and there's
- 53:33Speaker 1: whatever guests are invited to the wedding. So trying to
- 53:38Speaker 1: be sneaky now it's just not there's no point. So
- 53:42Speaker 1: running right up to the thing. I was just kind
- 53:44Speaker 1: of like, you know what, okay, And he's so cheery
- 53:50Speaker 1: and casual, and it's just like, hey, sorry, it took
- 53:54Speaker 1: us so long to pick you up. But we're here
- 53:56Speaker 1: and he's just chattering away, and then all of a
- 53:59Speaker 1: sudden and he gets kicked back, and it's Sanji kicking him,
- 54:06Speaker 1: and like, I try really hard not to see the
- 54:10Speaker 1: title cards for these episodes, but this was one of
- 54:13Speaker 1: the few episodes there's a new theme song. By the way,
- 54:16Speaker 1: for two out of these three episodes, the first one
- 54:19Speaker 1: had the old one, and then the next two it
- 54:21Speaker 1: started a new theme song. I am liking this new
- 54:25Speaker 1: theme song. I was really relieved, because sometimes I have
- 54:28Speaker 1: hated them, but this one's pretty good. It's long, though,
- 54:31Speaker 1: I felt like the intro was a lot longer than
- 54:33Speaker 1: it used to be. But this is one of the
- 54:38Speaker 1: few episodes that kind of has like a cold open
- 54:42Speaker 1: before it cuts to the title card. The cold open
- 54:47Speaker 1: is a flashback, but nevertheless, I was like properly watching
- 54:53Speaker 1: the episode, and then all of a sudden, the title
- 54:55Speaker 1: card showed up, so there was no time for me to,
- 54:57Speaker 1: like normally I can fast forward and sort of skip over,
- 55:01Speaker 1: and I saw like Sanji versus Loufy, and I just
- 55:08Speaker 1: yelled out, Oh no, I just was so sad. I
- 55:14Speaker 1: knew this is gonna be like it's and I think
- 55:16Speaker 1: it's literally called like a heartbreaking battle or something like that,
- 55:20Speaker 1: a heartbreaking duel. That's it, And like literally it is.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I don't want to see this. I don't like my
- 55:26Speaker 1: friends fighting, especially when they both really actually want the
- 55:30Speaker 1: same thing. But the only thing that I can see
- 55:36Speaker 1: getting loofy out of this is Big Mom going down.
- 55:40Speaker 1: And we find out in these episodes that Big Mom
- 55:44Speaker 1: has like a weather power. She controls two clouds. One
- 55:51Speaker 1: of them is Zeus and it's a thundercloud, and the
- 55:55Speaker 1: other one is called Prometheus, and it's got like the
- 56:01Speaker 1: heat of the sun or something like that, which makes
- 56:04Speaker 1: sense because Prometheus is like a whole thing with fire.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I already felt like Big Mom had too much power.
- 56:14Speaker 1: I was okay with it, but it was sort of like,
- 56:16Speaker 1: that's an insane ability. This is bonkers, man, What the fuck?
- 56:23Speaker 1: That doesn't feel like it's even related to the devil
- 56:26Speaker 1: fruit power either, Like, how does she have these clouds
- 56:30Speaker 1: in her control? How does that even work? And we
- 56:33Speaker 1: aren't told anything about the specifics of it, but we
- 56:38Speaker 1: are given an example that, like, somebody tried to get
- 56:42Speaker 1: out of a deal with her, and she was able
- 56:44Speaker 1: to cause a thunderstorm and sink the ship. And that
- 56:48Speaker 1: is a very big power to have, the kind of
- 56:53Speaker 1: like storm that sinks a whole ship. Yikes, The NAMMY's
- 56:58Speaker 1: friggin little cloud attack thing is real weak sauce in
- 57:03Speaker 1: comparison to something like that. I am just really I
- 57:10Speaker 1: want to see how this power works, because I just
- 57:14Speaker 1: don't think it's related to the devil fruit So how
- 57:19Speaker 1: does it work? Because that, I think would be the
- 57:24Speaker 1: first thing we need to take care of dealing with her.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Her devil fruit power is already really tough, but let's
- 57:30Speaker 1: first manage to somehow take away the power that controls
- 57:35Speaker 1: the weather, because that is such a huge advantage, and
- 57:40Speaker 1: it would also kind of make sense if she can
- 57:43Speaker 1: control weather that maybe she's able to keep things very
- 57:48Speaker 1: like mild around her islands. With everything being built from food,
- 57:54Speaker 1: it's probably helpful if she is able to keep heat
- 57:58Speaker 1: and rain from absolutely destroying a chocolate island, you know
- 58:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I don't know if if it's actually
- 58:07Speaker 1: like related to that specifically at all, but it's sort
- 58:09Speaker 1: of it's making me think about like the advantages of
- 58:12Speaker 1: something like that, and I could see it, but yeah,
- 58:16Speaker 1: I just when that is revealed, I was, like we
- 58:19Speaker 1: already she was she had a power that was kind
- 58:22Speaker 1: of crazy. What is interesting to me as well are
- 58:25Speaker 1: the like cravings that she has where she wants the croquambouge.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I've been kind of going with that being part like
- 58:33Speaker 1: a side effect of her powers. And I don't know
- 58:36Speaker 1: where I got that from, because mostly people's devil fruit
- 58:41Speaker 1: powers don't have side effects other than they will get
- 58:46Speaker 1: exhausted after using those powers for like a while, but
- 58:49Speaker 1: it takes a long time, and that exhaustion mostly just
- 58:55Speaker 1: presents as tiredness, like normal tired, this really intense, crazy thing.
- 59:04Speaker 1: I'm realizing it may have nothing to do with her powers.
- 59:07Speaker 1: That might be a whole separate issue. And I don't
- 59:12Speaker 1: know if that's at all related to the clouds in
- 59:15Speaker 1: her power. Perhaps maybe that's like a price she's paying
- 59:19Speaker 1: to be able to use those or you know. I
- 59:22Speaker 1: don't know, but big Mom, I got a lot of
- 59:25Speaker 1: questions about you. I still want to know things. So
- 59:30Speaker 1: all right, guys, well I'm gonna wrap this one up.
- 59:32Speaker 1: But uh, these are some really interesting episodes and I
- 59:35Speaker 1: am looking forward to Lufy and Soanji not fighting anymore.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Like granted, by the end of this Soanji is riding
- 59:44Speaker 1: away and they have stopped fighting, but Lufy is still
- 59:48Speaker 1: just yelling at him like I'm going to stay out
- 59:50Speaker 1: here and wait because I can't be King of the
- 59:53Speaker 1: Pirates without you, and saying I can't be King of
- 59:55Speaker 1: the Pirates without you. Guys, that got me, That really did.
- 59:58Speaker 1: When Sonji starts to get Alteria out, I was like, yeah,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: thatdam fuck me up too, bro, Like knowing that's Lufy's
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: biggest goal in his life and that he is saying
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: I can't do this without you, that is a big statement,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: and uh, it just it hurts me, so uh, stump
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: this and around Sanchi and get out of that carriage
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: and let's take off. Okay, get out of here. Except
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: I do want you to marry Pudding, but I don't know.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: We'll figure it out, all right. Everybody appreciate you all
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: hanging out in the chat. Thank you Bernadette for commissioning
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: this one, and until next time to the lou motherfuckers.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled Network podcast
