- 0:00Speaker 1: We want to know your weird work rules.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Mickey Ray, good morning.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Where do you work? I am a dog groomer. I
- 0:06Speaker 2: actually work at Petco.
- 0:28Speaker 4: And we are no longer allowed to wear our headphones.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Because?
- 0:36Speaker 4: Because employees couldn't get along. And it's always kind of
- 0:40Speaker 4: been a rule that we weren't supposed to. But they
- 0:43Speaker 4: let us slide on it because I work in the
- 0:45Speaker 4: grooming salon. You know, it's high stress. And then these
- 0:50Speaker 4: employees were fighting with each other in front of other customers.
- 0:53Speaker 4: And so they took that privilege away.
- 0:56Speaker 2: What if we had that rule that you couldn't wear
- 0:58Speaker 2: any headphones? I guess that would never be a rule here.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I thought it was going to be.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Like they were forcing them to talk in makeup. So
- 1:05Speaker 5: you had to block them out by their headphones.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:12Speaker 6: The benefit of headphones when you're grooming is that you
- 1:15Speaker 6: don't have to hear the shears and all that stuff.
- 1:16Speaker 6: So you've got headphones in, you're listening to music. It
- 1:18Speaker 6: makes sense to me that you would have headphones on.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and it just, like, when you have a dog
- 1:23Speaker 4: that's misbehaving or even, like, the blow dryers that we're using, like,
- 1:28Speaker 4: it just gets loud and overwhelming, and it just, it
- 1:32Speaker 4: helps to have something in your ear.
- 1:33Speaker 6: Okay, that's a weird work rule at Petco, where the
- 1:37Speaker 6: pets go. Thanks, Mickey Ray.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Thanks for calling in. Have a great day.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you.
- 1:43Speaker 3: You too.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Hello, Sabrina.
- 1:45Speaker 6: So, Kyle found this Reddit thread that was talking about
- 1:47Speaker 6: weird work rules. It's hard to say that, weird work rules.
- 1:51Speaker 6: You have one, Sabrina?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Say it three times real fast. None of the men
- 2:03Speaker 3: in production are allowed to use the front restroom. Only
- 2:06Speaker 3: the women. If there's a guy in the office, he's
- 2:09Speaker 3: allowed to use the front restroom because the production guys
- 2:11Speaker 3: are gross.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Somebody ruined it for everybody else. They got to walk
- 2:16Speaker 2: all the way to the back.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I know who ruined it, and I was like, nope,
- 2:21Speaker 3: it's not happening anymore.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And where do you work, Sabrina? What kind of work?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Denmark Foods. I'm an accountant for Denmark Foods.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Denmark Foods, huh? What's that?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, like brats, brats and stuff you buy at Fry's
- 2:34Speaker 3: or Safeway and ground chicken, ground pork. Yeah, but we
- 2:40Speaker 3: do a lot of brats and jalapeno boppers.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, thank you for calling in and sharing that weird
- 2:45Speaker 1: work rule.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Thank you. Have a nice day.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Thank you. Good morning, Emily.
- 2:52Speaker 7: Hey, so my work role is just for me only.
- 2:56Speaker 7: My boss tells me I'm not allowed to talk to
- 2:58Speaker 7: the new people, so they're out of training. Too distracting.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Too distracting.
- 3:04Speaker 8: Too witty.
- 3:06Speaker 7: I don't know, but that's just a personal rule. She
- 3:08Speaker 7: catches me talking to them.
- 3:09Speaker 8: She has to go, this is.
- 3:10Speaker 7: About work, right? And I'll have to usually just lie.
- 3:13Speaker 7: You're like, I'm just.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Trying to get to know them.
- 3:18Speaker 7: I'm showing them how to talk to customers.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's how we do it here.
- 3:21Speaker 2: That's a whole other subcategory. What is the work rule
- 3:24Speaker 2: for just you? That's your job.
- 3:28Speaker 7: Yeah, I feel like most people should get fired if
- 3:30Speaker 7: they have a personal rule, but I don't know. I've
- 3:32Speaker 7: been there for like four and a half years, so
- 3:34Speaker 7: I think they let it slide.
- 3:35Speaker 2: You're just being friendly.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And what kind of work do you do, Emily?
- 3:39Speaker 7: I'm a bartender and server, so you know, you gotta
- 3:42Speaker 7: have a personality. You gotta be fun.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Where do you bartend?
- 3:48Speaker 7: Um, it's called Rick's on 95th. It's like next to the,
- 3:51Speaker 7: it's like a mile from the Cardinal stadium.
- 3:53Speaker 9: Oh, just a bar grill.
- 3:54Speaker 7: A little.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 7: It's pretty good food. If you guys are in the area,
- 3:57Speaker 7: come check it out.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh, it's good food.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Like what kind of food? When you say it's good food,
- 4:00Speaker 1: what kind of food?
- 4:01Speaker 7: It's just regular bar food, like burgers, pizza, sandwiches, apps.
- 4:05Speaker 7: They even have like some like little authentic Mexican dishes
- 4:08Speaker 7: in there.
- 4:09Speaker 9: Like ceviche, video tacos, stuff like that.
- 4:12Speaker 7: It's actually really good for bar food.
- 4:14Speaker 1: All right. Sounds good. You got it. Next time I
- 4:16Speaker 1: go to Cardinals game, I'll pop by.
- 4:18Speaker 7: Yeah, and the first game today for NFL, guys. So
- 4:20Speaker 7: come in.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I'll be there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: It's today. You're right.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Have a good one.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You're right. Thanks. Have a great day, Emily.
- 4:25Speaker 8: Thanks, guys.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Bye. Speaking of food, Rich, I thought maybe it's time
- 4:28Speaker 6: for food news since you just talked about food and
- 4:30Speaker 6: Rich's new segment, Food News.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And now, John Jay and Rich present.
- 4:36Speaker 7: Food News.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Food News.
- 4:39Speaker 5: John Jay and Rich have Food News.
- 4:44Speaker 2: What I mean. I think as far as the innovation goes,
- 4:48Speaker 2: nobody is coming close to Taco Bell. And I think, Kyle,
- 4:52Speaker 2: you're going to really like this. They're teaming up with
- 4:55Speaker 2: salt in straw ice cream.
- 4:57Speaker 5: I saw this.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's an ice cream taco, a churro taco.
- 5:01Speaker 10: I know, but it's sad because it's not going to
- 5:03Speaker 10: be everywhere for a limited time. It's going to be
- 5:05Speaker 10: like only a couple of the restaurants have it. I'm like,
- 5:07Speaker 10: let's make it worldwide.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So it's like the choco taco, choco loco taco.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It's a new take on that. May I describe it
- 5:14Speaker 2: to you to tempt your temptations? Churro ice cream inside
- 5:18Speaker 2: a crispy waffle cone shell covered with puffed rice in
- 5:21Speaker 2: a dark chocolate flavored coating. It's $ 3. 99, and guess what, Kyle?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Next week, available nationwide for a limited time.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Limited time.
- 5:31Speaker 8: Try Tuesday.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yes, well, I saw there was one at the Taco
- 5:35Speaker 5: Bell by my house, and I was like, I'm coming
- 5:37Speaker 5: back for you.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And White Castle is teamed up with the Kelsey Brothers.
- 5:42Speaker 2: They own some kind of beer, and they're doing beer
- 5:44Speaker 2: cheese with everything.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 2: And it's teamed up with their beer brand. So that
- 5:48Speaker 2: is your Food News. And now, John Jay and Rich
- 5:52Speaker 2: present Food News.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Football is back. It is back tonight. And you probably.
- 6:05Speaker 6: Know there is not a theme for a Wednesday night.
- 6:12Speaker 5: That's actually very funny.
- 6:16Speaker 10: Yeah, tonight's like a Super Bowl rematch, right? Seahawks-Patriots. Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's the same people that were.
- 6:21Speaker 6: In the Super Bowl last year.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Oh, that's so funny. If you asked me who was
- 6:23Speaker 1: in the Super Bowl, I'd be like... I know.
- 6:25Speaker 10: I only knew that because a headline popped up this morning.
- 6:29Speaker 10: And then with it was something really cool. And I
- 6:32Speaker 10: think everybody's really excited for it. I guess the Super
- 6:35Speaker 10: Bowl this year lands on Presidency Weekend. So the Monday
- 6:38Speaker 10: after is a holiday.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Finally!
- 6:41Speaker 5: Haven't we been saying that the day after the Super Bowl?
- 6:44Speaker 5: Because everyone gets together for the parties. And you probably
- 6:47Speaker 5: have a little bit too much to drink and too
- 6:49Speaker 5: much dip.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 6: I saw this thing that said Miley Cyrus is confirmed
- 6:53Speaker 6: for a Super Bowl halftime show, but it's one of those.
- 6:56Speaker 6: It showed up on my feed, and then I found it.
- 6:58Speaker 6: I looked at it, and I was like, is this real?
- 7:00Speaker 6: And then I clicked on it to read the comments.
- 7:03Speaker 6: And then when I clicked out and started scrolling, everything
- 7:05Speaker 6: after that was Miley Cyrus.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean? How it does that?
- 7:08Speaker 1: So I was like, I don't know.
- 7:09Speaker 2: That could be. I mean, she's got a new album out.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That makes a lot of sense.
- 7:12Speaker 5: If she doesn't do the Super Bowl, she'll definitely headline Coachella.
- 7:16Speaker 5: But if she headlines Coachella, then maybe she'll do the
- 7:18Speaker 5: Super Bowl. So I'm like, which one are we going
- 7:20Speaker 5: to find out first?
- 7:21Speaker 1: Well, if you're her.
- 7:23Speaker 6: I think you probably sell more tickets, more albums after
- 7:28Speaker 6: Super Bowl. It's like every single performer at Super Bowl
- 7:30Speaker 6: has always broken some records and stuff like that, business-wise.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Right? I mean, or can she do both?
- 7:36Speaker 2: That would be epic.
- 7:37Speaker 1: She could totally do both. She's Miley.
- 7:39Speaker 6: We're going to play Minute to Win It, so we
- 7:40Speaker 6: need a contestant at 877-937-1047. Jen, you've got a weird
- 7:42Speaker 6: work rule.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I do.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I have two.
- 7:43Speaker 2: So.
- 7:53Speaker 9: We are not allowed to have any pens and paper
- 7:59Speaker 9: at our desk because of the CCPA, the Credit Card
- 8:02Speaker 9: Protection Act, because some idiot decided to write down a
- 8:07Speaker 9: credit card number and go buy a Big Mac at McDonald's.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So you're not allowed to have.
- 8:14Speaker 8: I wish I was kidding.
- 8:15Speaker 9: I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.
- 8:18Speaker 2: That's so weird. You can't have any pen or paper
- 8:21Speaker 2: at your desk.
- 8:22Speaker 8: We can't be writing anything. Sometimes there's like five minutes
- 8:29Speaker 8: in between calls and there's nothing to do. We have
- 8:34Speaker 8: no games on our computer. I'm not talking crap about
- 8:37Speaker 8: my job, but we can't do a crossword puzzle or
- 8:43Speaker 8: anything like that because we can't have any paper or pens.
- 8:46Speaker 6: So you're telling me this guy writes down a number
- 8:49Speaker 6: and you can walk into McDonald's with a number on
- 8:51Speaker 6: a piece of paper and say, here's my credit card.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I like a Big Mac.
- 8:55Speaker 8: No, you put it in a digital app.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Wow.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Still. Beyond me. I know.
- 9:01Speaker 2: He just ordered it online.
- 9:04Speaker 8: Oh, he went on a McDonald's app.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I know. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Okay, okay, okay. I did that.
- 9:09Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Sorry. I didn't get it. I don't know. That's what
- 9:12Speaker 1: I was explaining to you.
- 9:13Speaker 9: I was surprised.
- 9:14Speaker 1: What was the other one? What was the other one, Jen?
- 9:17Speaker 9: Um, we have to clock out to use the bathroom.
- 9:21Speaker 1: That's not cool. Yeah, no kidding.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Unless you're taking like, you know, an hour and a
- 9:25Speaker 2: half in there.
- 9:26Speaker 9: Someone must have.
- 9:27Speaker 10: Someone must have.
- 9:28Speaker 8: I mean, I get it and they don't like, you know,
- 9:32Speaker 8: their whole thing is we're not taking you to the
- 9:33Speaker 8: bathroom and we have two breaks. I mean, get that.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Same here.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Peyton makes us have a hall pass before we can
- 9:39Speaker 2: use the bathroom.
- 9:40Speaker 10: Yeah, well, because you guys literally go like every five minutes.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. That's a lot. Taking a lot of water.
- 9:48Speaker 6: I worked at the check hashing place in college and
- 9:50Speaker 6: we're in these cages and I remember getting paid hourly
- 9:53Speaker 6: and I'd be like, I'm going to the bathroom.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm going to hang out in here for a while.
- 9:57Speaker 10: That's where that habit began.
- 9:58Speaker 1: All right, Jen. Thanks for calling in.
- 10:01Speaker 8: No problem.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Love you guys.
- 10:03Speaker 8: Have a good day.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You too. All right.
- 10:05Speaker 6: So we got $ 1, 000. Pat Hickey's money. Pat Hickey's the
- 10:07Speaker 6: owner and the general manager of Peoria Ford. And he
- 10:09Speaker 6: gave us $ 1, 000 to give away.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You got to get 10 questions. Rich asks you 10 questions.
- 10:14Speaker 6: You have to get them in a row and you
- 10:15Speaker 6: have to get them right.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And then you win $ 1, 000. Lauren, good morning.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Hi, good morning.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Good morning. What are you doing right now?
- 10:23Speaker 3: I'm driving my partner to work.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Oh, where does your partner work?
- 10:29Speaker 7: She works for USAA.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And then what are you doing after that?
- 10:33Speaker 9: I'm going to go get my lashes done.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Well, hopefully.
- 10:37Speaker 2: She's going to spend her.
- 10:39Speaker 4: $ 1, 000 is what she's going to do.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I was going.
- 10:42Speaker 5: To say, so I might need a couple extra bucks
- 10:46Speaker 5: to afford my license.
- 10:48Speaker 1: All right, let's go.
- 10:50Speaker 2: All right, Lauren, let's lock it in. 60 seconds, 10 questions.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Let's go. Whitney Houston's hit, I Will Always Love You,
- 10:57Speaker 2: was written by what late country music legend?
- 11:01Speaker 3: Dolly Parton.
- 11:04Speaker 2: What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
- 11:08Speaker 2: won the Oscar for Best Picture?
- 11:09Speaker 4: Pass.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Would you say pass?
- 11:13Speaker 1: Pass.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You can't pass. Oh, I can't.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Then I lose.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Dang it.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Question two?
- 11:21Speaker 8: Oh, my God. Oh, no.
- 11:24Speaker 2: You just got to come up with the name of
- 11:25Speaker 2: the movie. It was huge.
- 11:27Speaker 10: Okay.
- 11:28Speaker 8: Can you say it again?
- 11:29Speaker 2: What 2023 biopic about the father of the atomic bomb
- 11:32Speaker 2: won the Oscar for Best Picture?
- 11:41Speaker 3: I really don't know.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Shout out the name of a movie because you might
- 11:43Speaker 2: be right.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I'm not so bad at movies.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Come on.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Out of time.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Lauren, let me ask you something. You said you're taking
- 12:01Speaker 6: your partner to work and she's with you right now?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yes. Does she know the answer?
- 12:07Speaker 9: No.
- 12:07Speaker 8: She's shaking her head no.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 12:10Speaker 6: I know.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Wow.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Looking for Oppenheimer is the name of the movie.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I would have never said that in my life.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Well, I guess you've got to pay for your own
- 12:21Speaker 2: lashes today.
- 12:21Speaker 1: They're not on us today. All right, Lauren. I'm glad
- 12:26Speaker 1: you played, though. Have fun. Drop a new partner off.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. Good luck with the lashes. Thank you.
- 12:31Speaker 1: By the way, I saw this thing that said that movies.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Like this year, this summer, or so far this year,
- 12:36Speaker 6: is the biggest box office draw for movies in the
- 12:39Speaker 6: history of movies.
- 12:40Speaker 2: What?
- 12:42Speaker 1: Yeah. Suspicious. Why?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Well, because things are expensive. What they really should say
- 12:49Speaker 2: is how many tickets got sold, not how much money
- 12:52Speaker 2: they're making. I'm sure back in the day, more people
- 12:54Speaker 2: went to the movies.
- 12:55Speaker 6: Well, and this is even before COVID and this is
- 12:57Speaker 6: after COVID. So for, for what I heard was like,
- 13:00Speaker 6: you think about, and I was trying to think of
- 13:01Speaker 6: the movie. I was like, Oh, Spider-Man and Odyssey. But
- 13:03Speaker 6: then I was like, Oh wait, obsession made a couple hundred,
- 13:06Speaker 6: 500 million. Then there was toy story five. There was
- 13:09Speaker 6: a lot of big movies, the rooms movie. That was
- 13:12Speaker 6: a back room.
- 13:13Speaker 1: That's what I mean. So it's like, it makes sense
- 13:14Speaker 1: to me. It makes sense. Spider-Man still rocking it right now.
- 13:17Speaker 5: Good point.
- 13:18Speaker 10: But I also see Rich's point too. It's like, how
- 13:21Speaker 10: many tickets equal that $ 100 million?
- 13:23Speaker 9: Yes.
- 13:23Speaker 10: Because now the tickets are like twice the price.
- 13:25Speaker 6: But if you also go just from last year or
- 13:27Speaker 6: the year before to now, to go from, I'm making
- 13:29Speaker 6: the numbers up, I don't know what it is, to
- 13:31Speaker 6: go from, you know, two billion people, two billion tickets
- 13:34Speaker 6: sold or dollars worth for, I think it was $ 5
- 13:37Speaker 6: billion so far this year.
- 13:38Speaker 1: That's big. That is big.
- 13:39Speaker 6: That means people are going to the movies. Whereas before
- 13:42Speaker 6: it was like people, they were saying the movies are dead.
- 13:44Speaker 6: People are going to the movies, you know?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, if you make movies worth seeing, we'll go to
- 13:48Speaker 2: the movies.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and Peyton, you just saw Obsession, right?
- 13:50Speaker 8: I did.
- 13:52Speaker 6: I kind of wanted to see it because I heard
- 13:54Speaker 6: it was like really good, but also really scary. So
- 13:56Speaker 6: I didn't want to see it. So you're the first
- 13:58Speaker 6: person I've talked to that's seen it.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I watched it on the airplane actually. And it
- 14:02Speaker 5: was good. I went into it with low expectations because
- 14:06Speaker 5: everyone had hyped this movie up so much. The girl
- 14:09Speaker 5: who plays the main character, she does a fantastic job.
- 14:13Speaker 5: And it's definitely one of those movies where it's like, okay...
- 14:16Speaker 5: Who's in the wrong here? It's like you have this
- 14:20Speaker 5: girl who's obsessed, but there's a reason that she's obsessed.
- 14:23Speaker 5: And it's because of her male friend. And he does
- 14:25Speaker 5: this whole little like spell almost on her. And then
- 14:30Speaker 5: everything else transpires. So by the end of the movie,
- 14:32Speaker 5: you're like, at the end of the day, who's really wrong?
- 14:35Speaker 5: I didn't find it scary.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Like, the actress you're talking about, she's, like, getting all
- 14:40Speaker 1: kinds of roles now.
- 14:41Speaker 5: She's, like, in talks for, like, I think an Oscar
- 14:43Speaker 5: nomination for Obsession.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Like, the next movie, like, I think they're trying to
- 14:47Speaker 1: get her in the MCU.
- 14:48Speaker 8: Oh, really?
