- 0:03Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota dot Com.
- 0:10Speaker 2: All right, we're right into it here, No open. What happened, Matt? No,
- 0:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 0:16Speaker 3: I can't hear you. Don't hear you? All right, I
- 0:18Speaker 3: gotta talk.
- 0:19Speaker 1: About I don't tend to make opens after live shows.
- 0:23Speaker 2: This isn't a live show.
- 0:24Speaker 4: No.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We had a live show previously.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Oh, I see what you're saying. Okay, so you didn't
- 0:27Speaker 2: have any content.
- 0:28Speaker 1: No, I had plenty of content. I just don't like
- 0:30Speaker 1: to use that kind of audio for the opens.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Okay. I just so you know, I look forward to
- 0:37Speaker 2: your opens. All Right, Tuesday here at JS Stadium, and
- 0:43Speaker 2: it's Evan as Paul, it's me, it's Deuce. Is Matt
- 0:45Speaker 2: in the booth. We just got back from practice, and
- 0:51Speaker 2: this is uh more than yesterday. Yesterday was just a
- 0:54Speaker 2: walk through. Today was a little bit higher tempo, shells helmets.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Tomorrow will be a day off and they'll go into
- 1:00Speaker 2: pads on Thursday. But you know, let's get right into it.
- 1:05Speaker 2: What do we think so far? We haven't been on
- 1:07Speaker 2: the air since Saturday. Yeah, so what are our impressions
- 1:11Speaker 2: so far? We've had four practices.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Right, yeah, yeah, well, I tell you.
- 1:14Speaker 6: After practice, Christian Gonzalez said it felt like the first
- 1:17Speaker 6: real day of training camp with the humidity and the
- 1:19Speaker 6: competition ramping up a little bit, and I agree with him.
- 1:21Speaker 6: I thought, uh, maybe a slow start over the first
- 1:24Speaker 6: couple of days for Drake, but I felt like he
- 1:26Speaker 6: kind of started to find a little bit of a
- 1:27Speaker 6: rhythm today, especially with Kishan Boody, who's been you know,
- 1:31Speaker 6: their best player in camp is he's made catches every
- 1:33Speaker 6: day and we got.
- 1:36Speaker 2: To him, but you brought it up. I mean, all
- 1:37Speaker 2: he does is catch pass then he does It's all
- 1:39Speaker 2: he does. Gets open and he catches it when it's
- 1:42Speaker 2: thrown to him. And I mean, I'm I'm high on booty.
- 1:47Speaker 6: You've been You've been big on booty for a while now, Fred,
- 1:49Speaker 6: and I think you're right too.
- 1:50Speaker 5: I mean it's just you're watching the practice and you're like,
- 1:52Speaker 5: you can't get rid of this guy.
- 1:54Speaker 6: He's just I mean, I felt in some ways he
- 1:56Speaker 6: was kind of part of the reason why Drake kind
- 1:58Speaker 6: of started to settle down a little bit, making, you know, one.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Of his catches. So, yeah, we'll see how continues to develop.
- 2:04Speaker 6: I think Evan's got a good take on you know, Brown,
- 2:07Speaker 6: and that seems like a work in progress, not quite
- 2:09Speaker 6: connecting downfield, but seems a little off. The short stuff
- 2:12Speaker 6: seems to be picking up that relationships, so hopefully that
- 2:15Speaker 6: continues to grow, you know. But Pop Douglas playing pretty well,
- 2:18Speaker 6: still waiting for Dobbs to kind of break out show
- 2:21Speaker 6: us what kind of player he can be.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I think I haven't seen anything from Dobbs now.
- 2:24Speaker 7: He's been quiet.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Yeah, he's been thinking. One catch maybe in the second team.
- 2:27Speaker 6: I think I don't think it was with Drake along
- 2:29Speaker 6: the sideline.
- 2:29Speaker 7: Of that, Drake threw him a quick screen on a uh.
- 2:33Speaker 7: It was kind of like, you know, a bunch.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Of yeah, okay, you know, what do you like to
- 2:37Speaker 5: call all the motion?
- 2:38Speaker 7: No, but what do you like to call all the
- 2:41Speaker 7: the deception kind of stuff? You know, like you always
- 2:44Speaker 7: have it, you have a little name. It'll come to me.
- 2:46Speaker 7: It'll come to me later in the show. But it was, yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 7: it was like, you know, some motion screen, but like
- 2:51Speaker 7: that's what they've had to do to get the ball
- 2:53Speaker 7: to Brown. In Dobbs, they had like the traditional plays,
- 2:56Speaker 7: you know, ten twelve yard outs or seams and slams,
- 3:00Speaker 7: I haven't really seemed to be connecting on them. On
- 3:03Speaker 7: the flip side, I think the defense has been pretty solid,
- 3:05Speaker 7: so I'll might set the table for offense, so I'll
- 3:08Speaker 7: say I think the coverage has been pretty tight. You know,
- 3:13Speaker 7: it's we talked about Gonzales, you know, Gonzales and Carlton
- 3:17Speaker 7: Davis I think have been pretty sharp early on. Unfortunately,
- 3:20Speaker 7: today looked like Davis maybe something with his leg. I
- 3:23Speaker 7: don't know, he didn't finish the practice. Charles Woods went
- 3:27Speaker 7: in his place and he was I thought, having a
- 3:30Speaker 7: pretty good practice. Then he didn't finish the practice. Chucky
- 3:32Speaker 7: Trees my guy. So maybe depth that corner are gonna
- 3:38Speaker 7: get tested here a little bit with a couple of
- 3:40Speaker 7: you know, hopefully just nagging injuries, nothing too serious, but
- 3:43Speaker 7: we don't know about the extent. But I thought the
- 3:46Speaker 7: secondary for the most part has been pretty solid. And
- 3:49Speaker 7: Mike's right, the one guy you know downfield making places
- 3:53Speaker 7: has been Booty and Douglas is his regular self on
- 3:56Speaker 7: the crossing routes, you know. And beyond that, I think
- 3:59Speaker 7: that the SEC and Darius had an upper hand and
- 4:01Speaker 7: most of the.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Most of the That was the highlight yesterday for me.
- 4:03Speaker 6: And it's just they they're really good. I mean, Carlton Davis,
- 4:07Speaker 6: Christian Goanzalez both making plays, Marcus Jones super fast, flying around,
- 4:11Speaker 6: presence in the middle, you know, Craig Woodson and Buyer.
- 4:14Speaker 6: To see how they're starting to work those guys in.
- 4:16Speaker 6: So to me right now, if you had asked what
- 4:18Speaker 6: the best unit has been over the first four days
- 4:20Speaker 6: of practice, I'd say it's the second area.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 3: That's always the fun part about camp is we can
- 4:24Speaker 3: praise the secondary that it makes it sound like we're
- 4:27Speaker 3: crapping on the passing game. I thought the first three
- 4:30Speaker 3: days of practice were I just don't like how they
- 4:33Speaker 3: do it. Now I'm just gonna I'm an old curmudgeon
- 4:35Speaker 3: about it, Like this five day ramp up period and
- 4:38Speaker 3: you go out there and it's you have two practices
- 4:41Speaker 3: and shorts and T shirts, then you have a walk through.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Then today really finally felt like, okay, we're into training
- 4:46Speaker 3: camp a little bit with the shells. But the first
- 4:49Speaker 3: three days and I think just in general, there's just
- 4:52Speaker 3: not a lot of opportunities, Like there's just not a
- 4:55Speaker 3: lot of spots that are up for grabs, and that's
- 4:57Speaker 3: a good thing. Like That's a positive thing is we're
- 4:59Speaker 3: not going into training camp being like, who's the left
- 5:02Speaker 3: tackle or is the quarterback any good? Or you know,
- 5:06Speaker 3: what's going on with the coaching staff because we have
- 5:08Speaker 3: new coaches. You know, this has been kind of ho hum,
- 5:11Speaker 3: you know, I think for the first four days of camp,
- 5:14Speaker 3: because there's just not a whole lot, you know, unless
- 5:16Speaker 3: you're really really into like the third tight end or
- 5:20Speaker 3: the running back depth or you know, Paul mentioned corner
- 5:23Speaker 3: as maybe a spot that we're going to get a
- 5:25Speaker 3: look at some of those depth guys. Now. So I've
- 5:27Speaker 3: been a little bit.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Speaking of running back depth twenty nine fast, thirty nine,
- 5:32Speaker 2: thirty nine, I'm sorry thirty nine.
- 5:34Speaker 5: Paul, you observed that as well.
- 5:35Speaker 7: Did you know you've been reading my blogs?
- 5:37Speaker 5: Nope, I no, why would I do that.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah, both those rookies appreciate you. Jam Miller, Miles Montgomery.
- 5:45Speaker 3: They're basically like carbon copies of each other. You look
- 5:47Speaker 3: at their athletic profiles, like their height, weight, speed, it's
- 5:50Speaker 3: like exactly the same. It's like pete and repeat.
- 5:53Speaker 6: So how close is jam Millard Damien Harris? Because I
- 5:55Speaker 6: keep looking at him and I'm like, is that Damien Harris,
- 5:57Speaker 6: I don't move. It's in an Alabama thing, but I
- 5:58Speaker 6: don't know.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I think Demon hair is a little bigger and slower.
- 6:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I think, yeah, I agree, more of.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Like a power guy. Dan Miller is fast.
- 6:08Speaker 2: But I was impressed yesterday with thirty nine speed. I
- 6:12Speaker 2: mentioned it to and I go, who's this kid?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Speed?
- 6:15Speaker 7: Speed is good?
- 6:16Speaker 6: I mean I thought he had a little burst. It's
- 6:18Speaker 6: you know, the running game, you know, with no pads.
- 6:20Speaker 7: But there was one particular play I think it was
- 6:23Speaker 7: in Sunday's practice that he just sort of had a
- 6:26Speaker 7: big hole off of right tackle and.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Boom, Yeah, that might have been the one.
- 6:30Speaker 7: He went right down the sideline. Was like, there's a
- 6:32Speaker 7: little juice there.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Speed of speed.
- 6:33Speaker 7: I haven't seen that from Miller. I've seen it from Montgomery.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Especially when you factor in those guys needing to contribute
- 6:41Speaker 3: on special teams and kickoff return. If you got that
- 6:44Speaker 3: straight line speed like that and some juice like that's
- 6:46Speaker 3: going to translate to kickoff return and whoever's that third
- 6:50Speaker 3: running back is is going to be the kickoff.
- 6:52Speaker 2: And I know people think I'm just kidding and they
- 6:54Speaker 2: don't want to hear it. But another guy was just
- 6:56Speaker 2: catching everything throwing his way, chif catches, he's catching the
- 7:00Speaker 2: and he's getting a little run with the ones as
- 7:02Speaker 2: well as mostly the twos. But uh, like he's on,
- 7:05Speaker 2: like Evan you said it, yes the other day, he's
- 7:07Speaker 2: almost too good for the twos. He coming out with
- 7:11Speaker 2: the skiers and he dominates right now.
- 7:12Speaker 3: He's a four A player. Yeah, again that's not a knock,
- 7:16Speaker 3: but I feel like when he's out there with like
- 7:18Speaker 3: the twos and threes, he's he's catching passes, and when
- 7:22Speaker 3: he gets out there with the ones, you don't really
- 7:24Speaker 3: see him as much. And you know, unfortunately for him,
- 7:27Speaker 3: he's got to start making plays with the ones if
- 7:28Speaker 3: he's really getting a stick in the league.
- 7:30Speaker 6: I mean, I sticking on those lines. So I've been
- 7:32Speaker 6: kind of impressed with just the back of quarterbacks. I
- 7:33Speaker 6: thought they've been pretty good. They're you know, they've been
- 7:35Speaker 6: completing passes to Vito and even Morton. Very small sample
- 7:38Speaker 6: size for Morton, but you know, going back to the spring,
- 7:41Speaker 6: I thought those guys have looked like they know what
- 7:42Speaker 6: they're doing.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Their decisive to me for a guy, this is a
- 7:47Speaker 7: third guy who's not getting a lot of reps, who
- 7:50Speaker 7: is a Day three late Day three pick. I think
- 7:54Speaker 7: he's looked the part.
- 7:55Speaker 6: I think he's he looks like when he runs the plays,
- 7:58Speaker 6: they generally get that.
- 8:00Speaker 7: The operation looks pretty smooth. Yeah, and I've seen you know, Fred,
- 8:04Speaker 7: and I will tell you, like you can give you
- 8:06Speaker 7: a laundry list of guys that have got those like
- 8:09Speaker 7: you know, those those mop up reps late and it's
- 8:11Speaker 7: just like, are they even running the play? Like did
- 8:14Speaker 7: they have a play in the hut Brady, you know,
- 8:16Speaker 7: like remember, but it was just nothing ever looked right.
- 8:21Speaker 7: And I haven't seen a play yet. I'm not telling
- 8:23Speaker 7: you that every play that Morton's run has been, you know,
- 8:25Speaker 7: flawlessly executed, but I haven't seen a play that looked
- 8:28Speaker 7: like a like a fire drill yet either. Yeah, you know,
- 8:31Speaker 7: and I can remember like the Todd Mortenson's of the
- 8:35Speaker 7: world and some of these just obscure names that you
- 8:37Speaker 7: can and like like was that even in the Patriots
- 8:40Speaker 7: playbook or were they running a scout play or something like?
- 8:43Speaker 7: I haven't seen that With Morton. I think the timing
- 8:46Speaker 7: has been there. He threw an out today on the
- 8:49Speaker 7: on the near sideline that was absolutely pin perfect. I
- 8:53Speaker 7: think it was to Dormer number eighty eight. Did I
- 8:55Speaker 7: get that right?
- 8:58Speaker 3: Usually formed eighty eighth guy on the rosters.
- 9:02Speaker 7: Usually that's a wide receiver skill.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Guys, we don't have to ask you about Jacob Rizzy's
- 9:10Speaker 3: correct correct.
- 9:11Speaker 7: But I have been fairly impressed with with Morton in
- 9:14Speaker 7: the way he carries himself. And you know, I think
- 9:16Speaker 7: he throws the ball pretty well. I think the timing
- 9:19Speaker 7: and the execution of the plays. Again, I'm not trying
- 9:22Speaker 7: to tell you that it's been perfect, but it looks
- 9:24Speaker 7: better than I've seen a lot of the third stream quarterbacks.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought the offense, I didn't know if they
- 9:30Speaker 2: were going to recover from the early loss in camp,
- 9:32Speaker 2: but they have. Yeah, Jimmy Kibble being on IR.
- 9:37Speaker 3: A couple of receivers gonna be all right.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Jeremiah, I don't know I had high hose, but I
- 9:41Speaker 2: think that Jeremiah wat I think.
- 9:45Speaker 5: I don't him out too early.
- 9:47Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I just real quick on Morton goes back
- 9:50Speaker 6: to his ricky mini caamp. It was the same kind
- 9:51Speaker 6: of thing. He completed like twelve passes and you were like, wow,
- 9:54Speaker 6: that's you know, for a guy who got here yesterday.
- 9:57Speaker 5: To step into this offense and be able to complete passes.
- 9:59Speaker 7: So what does that all mean.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Hopefully nothing, because we don't want to see either of
- 10:02Speaker 6: those guys in the game. But you know, it at
- 10:06Speaker 6: least makes it enjoyable when we get to have to
- 10:08Speaker 6: watch these second third reps that you see guys like
- 10:10Speaker 6: you know, Chisholm getting in there eli rared and making
- 10:12Speaker 6: a couple of catches with the backups.
- 10:14Speaker 5: Maybe that leads to more opportunities.
- 10:16Speaker 6: I point out a guy like Kyle Williams, like to
- 10:18Speaker 6: see a little bit more of him. I know yesterday
- 10:20Speaker 6: some of the reporters were like, oh, he's buried on
- 10:22Speaker 6: the depth chart. I'm like, did you need to see
- 10:23Speaker 6: practice to know that? I mean, he's there's a lot
- 10:25Speaker 6: of receivers above him. I'm just waiting to see if
- 10:28Speaker 6: Kyle Williams starts to you know, either make a couple
- 10:30Speaker 6: of plays or you know, because he's been invisible to me, I.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Mean four he's got to be out there to make
- 10:34Speaker 3: any plays, Like, I don't feel like he's getting any
- 10:37Speaker 3: real reps. And the backup quarterbacks, you just hope that
- 10:40Speaker 3: they allow other guys to kind of showcase their skills
- 10:43Speaker 3: because they're not, so it's easy.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Just to go to them every time.
- 10:46Speaker 3: That's what I look at for the backup this time
- 10:48Speaker 3: of year. Are you allowing theseus much?
- 10:50Speaker 7: For me, the one to be honest with you.
- 10:51Speaker 3: To make any plays. I honestly have not written down
- 10:54Speaker 3: eighteen as single time this entire camp.
- 10:56Speaker 7: No, there was one just kind of a routine again Patriot,
- 11:01Speaker 7: like twelve yard out that looked very you know, it
- 11:04Speaker 7: was I think it was Tommy DeVito and he ran
- 11:07Speaker 7: off Pronty on the On the coverage, Kyle Williams did
- 11:11Speaker 7: a nice nice job with the route sold the deep
- 11:14Speaker 7: route cut it off, nice pitching catch. But he doesn't
- 11:17Speaker 7: get a lot of reps with with the front liners.
- 11:19Speaker 7: And I haven't really seen Chishm with the front liners either.
- 11:21Speaker 7: It's been the other guys. And that's one thing that's
- 11:24Speaker 7: been really impressive to me is just how many combinations
- 11:27Speaker 7: that it's you know, you know, it's it's Brown and Dobbs,
- 11:32Speaker 7: then it's like Hollins and Dobbs, then it's Booty with
- 11:36Speaker 7: Douglas in Brown, like they have a lot of different
- 11:40Speaker 7: options and combinations. I know I wasn't here yesterday, but
- 11:42Speaker 7: aj Brown talked about that versatility being something that he
- 11:46Speaker 7: was really excited about when that's impressed him about the
- 11:49Speaker 7: offense and the different things they can do. Just like
- 11:52Speaker 7: going like the first couple of sets of plays today,
- 11:55Speaker 7: it was like virtually a different receiver group every like,
- 12:00Speaker 7: you know, the different set of three, sometimes only two,
- 12:04Speaker 7: but generally that those are the guys. It's it's it's.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Always Douglas Brown, Dobbs, Booty in Hollands, those five in
- 12:14Speaker 6: some some combination of those five.
- 12:16Speaker 3: And I'd say that the top four are really the
- 12:19Speaker 3: guys that were seeing in passing situations. They they've had
- 12:22Speaker 3: some run formations with Mac Collins a couple of today
- 12:25Speaker 3: where he's been the only receiver on the field. Paul's
- 12:27Speaker 3: gonna love that. You know, it's gonna we're gonna have
- 12:30Speaker 3: the full back in the backfield.
- 12:34Speaker 7: But I just wondered getting back to Fred's guy, like
- 12:38Speaker 7: so Booty and we keep we talked about this incessantly
- 12:40Speaker 7: during the off season, and I just wonder if they
- 12:44Speaker 7: just look at it at some point and say, I know,
- 12:47Speaker 7: we don't really have a place for him, but it's
- 12:49Speaker 7: just too productive to just say, well, we're not we
- 12:53Speaker 7: don't have a role.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Like especially for what it depends on what they're gonna
- 12:57Speaker 3: get for him. Like, I think that's the biggest issue,
- 12:59Speaker 3: is like it's not necessarily just he's too good to trade.
- 13:02Speaker 3: It's he's too good to trade for what's out for nothing. Yeah, Like,
- 13:05Speaker 3: if someone's gonna come and offer you, like a second
- 13:07Speaker 3: round pick for kish On Booty, then I think you
- 13:09Speaker 3: probably still think about it.
- 13:11Speaker 7: I think if that was available, that would have happened longo.
- 13:14Speaker 3: But maybe that's available by the end of the summer,
- 13:16Speaker 3: if he has another great summer and somebody has an
- 13:19Speaker 3: injuries or not, maybe not a second round pick, but
- 13:21Speaker 3: a better trade becomes available in late August than what's
- 13:26Speaker 3: available now. But I think we're getting to the point
- 13:28Speaker 3: where someone's gonna have to really blow you, kind of
- 13:31Speaker 3: blow you away with a trade offer to make it worthwhile.
- 13:34Speaker 7: And I wonder too, if again we keep prefacing this
- 13:39Speaker 7: by saying, you know, with four days into training camp
- 13:41Speaker 7: and these guys are learning new offenses. But what if
- 13:45Speaker 7: Dobbs isn't what we kind of all forecast for him.
- 13:49Speaker 7: I know what I'm going to get from Booty. I
- 13:51Speaker 7: don't know what I'm going to get from Dobbs yet. Now,
- 13:54Speaker 7: Dobbs has had a better career to thus far, but
- 13:56Speaker 7: that doesn't mean he's going to be a better Patriot receiver,
- 13:59Speaker 7: right so I want or if maybe they're looking at
- 14:01Speaker 7: this and saying, keep an open mind, yeah, maybe an
- 14:04Speaker 7: open maybe, maybe let's just let this play out here.
- 14:06Speaker 7: To Evan's point, someone might get hurt somewhere else, someone
- 14:10Speaker 7: might get hurt here. I mean, we elevate him.
- 14:12Speaker 5: We've been looking for receivers for so long.
- 14:13Speaker 6: It's just to me the chemistry and the trust that
- 14:15Speaker 6: Drake May has with Keishawan Booty right now, I just
- 14:18Speaker 6: don't know how you take that out. I mean you
- 14:21Speaker 6: even though you look like, hey, we got all these
- 14:22Speaker 6: birds in a hand right now, it's like the only
- 14:24Speaker 6: one you really know for sure right now.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Is Booty, Like because he's the one who's been there
- 14:28Speaker 5: and done it.
- 14:28Speaker 7: He's so good.
- 14:29Speaker 6: And those on those deep balls of using his body
- 14:33Speaker 6: to shield the defender, you know, stack in the stack,
- 14:37Speaker 6: and why do we stackall create separation?
- 14:42Speaker 7: Did you see that play today?
- 14:43Speaker 3: Was like it was perfect?
- 14:44Speaker 7: He just like it was like a box.
- 14:46Speaker 2: It was perfect.
- 14:47Speaker 3: We want to make the defender go through your body.
- 14:51Speaker 6: I told you this was this was the one that
- 14:53Speaker 6: Build did to That was one of the ones that
- 14:54Speaker 6: builded to me in one of those those stist production meetings,
- 14:57Speaker 6: and I had to get up and show him and
- 14:59Speaker 6: he's like, anyway.
- 15:02Speaker 2: He did.
- 15:02Speaker 7: I just think he's really really good right in here.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Not no more.
- 15:13Speaker 7: Sorry anyway. Booty to me is a guy that has
- 15:18Speaker 7: clearly established, you know, that skill set in the offense,
- 15:22Speaker 7: and you know A J. Brown obviously has two. I'm
- 15:24Speaker 7: not suggesting they don't have that without Booty, but I
- 15:28Speaker 7: do wonder if mac Collins has this specific role that
- 15:32Speaker 7: Evan's talking about, you know, in sort of larger sets
- 15:35Speaker 7: with you know, run dominant, is it worth it to
- 15:38Speaker 7: have Booty in a in a specific set that you know,
- 15:42Speaker 7: maybe he's not only going to play ten or twelve
- 15:44Speaker 7: snaps a game, but we're going to take a shot
- 15:45Speaker 7: or two to him every time. And he's proven last
- 15:48Speaker 7: year he doesn't need the ball, he doesn't need to
- 15:50Speaker 7: be the volume guy. He can make plays without the
- 15:52Speaker 7: ball getting thrown on him ten times.
- 15:54Speaker 2: All Right, some administrative news. So tomorrow is a day
- 16:00Speaker 2: off for the team, no practice tomorrow. Thursday is pads. However,
- 16:05Speaker 2: the forecast does call for rain, and we're told if
- 16:09Speaker 2: it does come down, you know, really heavy or lightning,
- 16:12Speaker 2: they might go inside. And if that's the case, no
- 16:16Speaker 2: live show. So just want to let everyone know. Obviously
- 16:20Speaker 2: we will keep people informed, but also, uh, you know,
- 16:24Speaker 2: for those showing up for practice, you know, if you're
- 16:27Speaker 2: in the within airshot, you're you're thinking of coming to
- 16:30Speaker 2: practice on Thursday, keep an eye out for the weather forecast,
- 16:33Speaker 2: and keep an eye on Patriots dot com because any
- 16:37Speaker 2: announcements to practice change will be made there. So just
- 16:41Speaker 2: want to let people know about Thursday. Could be weather
- 16:44Speaker 2: could affect practice, so keep an eye on Patriots dot
- 16:47Speaker 2: com for the latest news there. So all right, off, what.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Hope the rain holds off? I want to be able to.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Well, I mean, if it's just rain, I hope they're
- 16:58Speaker 2: still out there. But I can understand, like if it's counterproductive,
- 17:01Speaker 2: it's like freaking like the other what was it Friday
- 17:05Speaker 2: or Thursday? I forget the freaking mont was. You can't
- 17:08Speaker 2: do anything at that. It's ridiculous.
- 17:10Speaker 7: So I thought, that's what we're supposed to get tomorrow,
- 17:13Speaker 7: But I don't know how long it's supposed to last.
- 17:16Speaker 7: Tomorrow sounds like it's going to be pretty nasty, right, yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 7: like flood watch kind of stuff, real old Testament stuff.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Last few days have been absolutely gorgeous.
- 17:26Speaker 5: That's been gorgeous.
- 17:27Speaker 6: Yeah, But I do think today was a little hotter,
- 17:28Speaker 6: And that's why I felt a little more like you
- 17:30Speaker 6: know that more that like hot feeling on the side
- 17:32Speaker 6: of the hill.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Today was the first day I was like just.
- 17:35Speaker 7: Sweaty the hill.
- 17:37Speaker 6: I thought you were up with the idea because everybody
- 17:40Speaker 6: was looking for you, guys.
- 17:40Speaker 8: I go, my.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Everybody was looking for us.
- 17:42Speaker 7: Well, I said, I know it. Alls were up, I
- 17:45Speaker 7: know it all.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I like being above it. You get to see more.
- 17:48Speaker 7: If I could see, I would probably share your opinion.
- 17:51Speaker 7: I can't see from that. You know, you have the binoculars,
- 17:53Speaker 7: like yeah, but then you can only see what you're
- 17:55Speaker 7: looking at theocar.
- 17:57Speaker 2: That's why people don't understand how binoculars work. That's all right.
- 18:01Speaker 5: I don't like the telescope. Body's like, how does this
- 18:04Speaker 5: thing work?
- 18:04Speaker 7: I don't do binoculars very well.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Like those opera classes that he holds like with B
- 18:10Speaker 2: and flips it over.
- 18:11Speaker 7: I just I think it's just broken.
- 18:12Speaker 3: The combination, like Hey, it's the angle then, and like
- 18:16Speaker 3: you're not high enough and you're at a weird angle.
- 18:18Speaker 3: But then you also have all the grousing that's going
- 18:20Speaker 3: to grousing.
- 18:21Speaker 6: That's the best part the grouse, because I want to
- 18:24Speaker 6: watch practice.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I don't want to grouse. I want to page.
- 18:26Speaker 7: I watch practice.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Have been around when Faranello is here.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so you know that's we like our perch because.
- 18:32Speaker 7: You're talking about a different group that just sort of congregates.
- 18:36Speaker 7: There's like a cast of it grows by the day.
- 18:38Speaker 7: There's like twelve thirteen of them. They just stand over
- 18:41Speaker 7: here and they're all like, it's like a sewing circle.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Group.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Think there's too I mean, I like to dabble though
- 18:48Speaker 5: I've been down a couple of days. I went up
- 18:50Speaker 5: today with Evan.
- 18:51Speaker 6: You know, I like to you know, see different people here,
- 18:53Speaker 6: to hear different takes.
- 18:54Speaker 3: You got to see the plate.
- 18:55Speaker 6: But I do love the angle though it's it's being
- 18:57Speaker 6: up high you just can kind of see everything. But
- 19:00Speaker 6: you know, just to that point of the deep ball
- 19:03Speaker 6: on Booty and Buyered, I mean, it's just it's so
- 19:05Speaker 6: fun to watch that develop because you see Drake unleash
- 19:08Speaker 6: it and then you turn right to the player and
- 19:10Speaker 6: you can watch them jockeying, and I mean it was
- 19:12Speaker 6: just you know, is he going to get I mean
- 19:13Speaker 6: it was so close when the ball was in the air,
- 19:15Speaker 6: But that, you know, as Paul said, just a skill
- 19:18Speaker 6: that he has downfield, like and it's just not.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Something that's valued a lot.
- 19:21Speaker 6: Like I don't feel like people talk about like you
- 19:23Speaker 6: do talk about contested catch receivers, but I think usually
- 19:26Speaker 6: those are guys like Drake London or you know, bigger
- 19:28Speaker 6: players that you're like, all right, we're just gonna get
- 19:30Speaker 6: down to the red zone and chuck it up to
- 19:32Speaker 6: this guy. But you know, I think that's something that
- 19:34Speaker 6: you got to respect.
- 19:35Speaker 5: For Kashan Boudy.
- 19:36Speaker 6: I've always thought he had great hands, but his ability
- 19:38Speaker 6: to track the ball downfield, you have to say it now,
- 19:41Speaker 6: especially in the playoffs last year with the catch he
- 19:43Speaker 6: head against Houston.
- 19:44Speaker 3: But that's it.
- 19:44Speaker 6: He's got a special talent to do that, And that
- 19:46Speaker 6: to me is you know what's emerged. And we were
- 19:48Speaker 6: kind of against you, Fred when you're saying like, how
- 19:50Speaker 6: can we get rid of Booty and you know we
- 19:52Speaker 6: were all kind of.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Like, well, it's not really a spot for him.
- 19:54Speaker 6: But I just you can't be in the business and
- 19:56Speaker 6: getting rid of good players, and especially when they have
- 19:58Speaker 6: a chemistry with your star quarterback. I you know, I
- 20:01Speaker 6: is it crazy to think you try to keep this
- 20:03Speaker 6: guy around somehow, I'm saying long term.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You know, listen, I would like I said, just keep
- 20:08Speaker 2: an open mind, Elliott Wolf, let it play, get on
- 20:11Speaker 2: the phone, see what's out there, see who who wants
- 20:14Speaker 2: what for who? And uh, like I said, just keep
- 20:18Speaker 2: an open mind. Uh, tight end situation. Hunter Henry had
- 20:22Speaker 2: a really nice grab at a nice throw from May today,
- 20:24Speaker 2: but also young Raredan had a couple of nice catches.
- 20:28Speaker 5: A couple of catches showing up a little bit. That's
- 20:30Speaker 5: a good sign.
- 20:31Speaker 6: I mean, Paul was talking about Tanner Arkin on the
- 20:33Speaker 6: rap video that we did as well.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Who had a rap video?
- 20:36Speaker 9: We did?
- 20:37Speaker 5: No, It's just we did. We wrapped it up, Sorry,
- 20:39Speaker 5: wrapped it up. We didn't do a rap video. We
- 20:44Speaker 5: would have got Matt Morrell in there.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Qy uh but good, you know, just good to see
- 20:49Speaker 6: Raredan starting to show up a little bit. I mean,
- 20:50Speaker 6: we talked about Kyle Williams. Haven't seen anything from him,
- 20:53Speaker 6: first team, second team, whatever. It was, but you know,
- 20:56Speaker 6: little pieces here and there from him and Tanner Arkin
- 20:58Speaker 6: maybe the Jewel Hill kind of mad dog blocker that
- 21:02Speaker 6: if they want to have a bunch of different packages
- 21:05Speaker 6: and make teams prepare for a bunch of different things,
- 21:07Speaker 6: maybe tannor Arkin carves out a role for himself if
- 21:09Speaker 6: he can. You know, I think it's going to be
- 21:11Speaker 6: interesting to watch him with the pads on, because now
- 21:13Speaker 6: let's see what this UDFA has when he's got to,
- 21:16Speaker 6: you know, go block some real NFL players.
- 21:18Speaker 3: I have no doubt that he's gonna be able to
- 21:19Speaker 3: block people. No doubt that Raradan is going to be
- 21:22Speaker 3: able to catch some passes.
- 21:23Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I know, I have a little bit of doubt that
- 21:27Speaker 3: they're going to be able to do the other thing
- 21:29Speaker 3: like Rared, and I don't know if he's gonna be
- 21:30Speaker 3: able to block and so, you know, is he a
- 21:32Speaker 3: third down player to start? Is he a situational two
- 21:35Speaker 3: minute third down that kind of thing, which is fine,
- 21:39Speaker 3: But I think the one thing with those two guys
- 21:41Speaker 3: is it feels like if you could fuse them together,
- 21:43Speaker 3: then you'd have a real backup tight end on your hands.
- 21:47Speaker 3: But they're gonna be a little bit predictable. I think
- 21:49Speaker 3: when one of those.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Times I'll ask you ball knowers, with the way practice
- 21:54Speaker 2: is structured and no pads and all that, is there
- 21:56Speaker 2: a way in training camp to get better at blocking
- 21:59Speaker 2: like offensive lineman I'm talking about like a tight end for.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the biggest thing with blocking is it's
- 22:07Speaker 3: all angles. It's leverage and angles. Yeah, So you know
- 22:10Speaker 3: a lot of blocking is done with your feet in
- 22:12Speaker 3: your hands and not necessarily just like your raw power.
- 22:15Speaker 3: So you know a lot of these drills that they're doing,
- 22:17Speaker 3: even though they're just kind of I compare to like basketball,
- 22:20Speaker 3: they're just sliding to kind of like stay in front
- 22:22Speaker 3: of guys more so than they are really engaging with guys.
- 22:26Speaker 3: All of that it starts with your feet. It's like throwing.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It's like throwing with a quarterback. It all starts with
- 22:31Speaker 3: your feet. So you know, a lot of those angles
- 22:33Speaker 3: and a lot of the leverage and positioning that they're
- 22:36Speaker 3: trying to drill. All that stuff can improve your blocking
- 22:39Speaker 3: a lot. But with rered and I think he is
- 22:40Speaker 3: going to have to add some weight if he's going
- 22:43Speaker 3: to be an inline blocker. But we see him as
- 22:46Speaker 3: a receiver and I think he's got speed. I think
- 22:48Speaker 3: he's got good instincts for it. He's got you know,
- 22:51Speaker 3: decent hands that we.
- 22:52Speaker 7: Have a frame too.
- 22:53Speaker 5: I think he's got the frame to put some weight on.
- 22:55Speaker 7: Yeah, he's a good athlete. I like to see him
- 22:57Speaker 7: a little bit more with some of the front line guys.
- 23:00Speaker 7: But you know, I think that's right now, that's Arkin.
- 23:04Speaker 7: I wonder if you're going to see I don't if
- 23:07Speaker 7: you had to ask me right now, I wouldn't expect
- 23:09Speaker 7: to see a whole lot of multiple tight end sets
- 23:11Speaker 7: in this offense. I think they're going to go in
- 23:13Speaker 7: different routes with that.
- 23:14Speaker 3: They're young, they're young, you know, both those guys are rookies,
- 23:18Speaker 3: they're young players. To have them be playing a lot
- 23:20Speaker 3: like Austin Hooper was for them last year. And I
- 23:23Speaker 3: brought up the the blocking and stuff because like Arkin
- 23:27Speaker 3: probably fits a little bit better next to Hunter Henry
- 23:30Speaker 3: in terms of a skill set, because Henry is not
- 23:32Speaker 3: much of a blocker either, but he's more of a
- 23:35Speaker 3: pass catcher. So Ardan and Henry together like that feels
- 23:39Speaker 3: like third and eight, like you know, like a third
- 23:41Speaker 3: down thing, like not necessarily like a base offense kind
- 23:45Speaker 3: of thing. Arkin. I think you're seeing him run a
- 23:47Speaker 3: lot with the first team offense because when they get
- 23:50Speaker 3: into first and ten from the twenty five and they
- 23:52Speaker 3: want to run the ball or at least threat to run,
- 23:55Speaker 3: they need somebody that can block and put his hand
- 23:56Speaker 3: in the durt and block some people.
- 23:58Speaker 7: There were a handful of plays that he was with
- 24:00Speaker 7: Argin was with the first group today, and I think
- 24:03Speaker 7: all but one of them was a running play, and
- 24:06Speaker 7: they did do a little play action lead him out
- 24:08Speaker 7: in the flat and he caught a very you know,
- 24:11Speaker 7: modest gain. But you know, probably just seeing what exactly
- 24:14Speaker 7: he can do in terms of movement in space and stuff.
- 24:16Speaker 3: That's what I've been wat Yeah, put you out on
- 24:19Speaker 3: the flat on the back side of it.
- 24:21Speaker 5: Can he just do enough?
- 24:22Speaker 10: You know?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Can he just? Like is he?
- 24:23Speaker 6: That's and that's what I'm trying to see. How stiff
- 24:25Speaker 6: is he? You know in routes and all that stuff.
- 24:27Speaker 3: He didn't even do it a lot in college, you know,
- 24:29Speaker 3: like Illinois basically ran him as a sixth offensive lineman,
- 24:32Speaker 3: you know, and that was a big part of it.
- 24:34Speaker 3: But he can block. I mean, I there's no doubt.
- 24:38Speaker 2: All right, eight five to five. Pass five hundred is
- 24:40Speaker 2: the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I want to hear what you have to say, what
- 24:46Speaker 2: your questions are. I remember it's only day four. We
- 24:49Speaker 2: haven't seen any tackling, no pads yet, so we're not
- 24:52Speaker 2: going to be making any judgments on Kyle Williams can't
- 24:55Speaker 2: play or Drake may is this or no judgments. We're
- 24:59Speaker 2: going to just state the facts. Somebody had a good catch,
- 25:02Speaker 2: We'll tell you had a good catch. But you know
- 25:05Speaker 2: it's too early for any declarative judgments yet, Way way
- 25:09Speaker 2: too early. Zoe was there.
- 25:14Speaker 5: The elevator set up, are set up.
- 25:16Speaker 2: We're on one of the ramps overlooking the field, and
- 25:19Speaker 2: then ninety eight point five is on a ramp above us,
- 25:22Speaker 2: like way back. So I'm sitting there with my back
- 25:25Speaker 2: and I hear I set up. I turn around. I go, yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 2: he goes our sucks.
- 25:35Speaker 7: He's probably on the air at the time.
- 25:36Speaker 2: And then the next thing I hear is we got food.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I'm supposed to go running up to go eat food.
- 25:44Speaker 2: He's not believable, he is.
- 25:45Speaker 5: I rode the elevator on him.
- 25:46Speaker 6: I saw him introduce himself to somebody, which was pretty fun, like,
- 25:49Speaker 6: you know, someone like they didn't know who Zoe was.
- 25:52Speaker 2: And then after the booty catch, I hear pay him.
- 25:55Speaker 6: Pam Man Scott so I never thought when we were
- 26:03Speaker 6: watching him as like the fill in for Bledsoe at
- 26:05Speaker 6: times in like the mid nineties, that he would be such.
- 26:07Speaker 7: A prominent part of all of our lives everywhere.
- 26:10Speaker 3: He's problems the president.
- 26:14Speaker 2: That was funny, kidding you. Let's get to the phones.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Uh see what people have to say. We will start
- 26:21Speaker 2: with HERM and d C. What's up?
- 26:24Speaker 3: Herm?
- 26:25Speaker 2: Hey?
- 26:25Speaker 11: What's going on?
- 26:26Speaker 10: Gentle man?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Hey?
- 26:28Speaker 11: I really enjoyed the the Live show on Saturdays, but
- 26:31Speaker 11: that was that was pretty cool.
- 26:33Speaker 2: You did, Thank you good. I'm glad you liked it.
- 26:35Speaker 11: No, no, I really did. I have a quick one
- 26:38Speaker 11: for you guys today, and I'll shut up and listen.
- 26:41Speaker 11: So if Robert, if what Robert pray it is true? Right,
- 26:46Speaker 11: I guess, And obviously I'm asking this as the president
- 26:50Speaker 11: of Gonza's fan club. Why I guess. Why hasn't he
- 26:54Speaker 11: signed to deal yet?
- 26:55Speaker 10: Right?
- 26:56Speaker 11: Is it a thing where it's just certain you know
- 26:58Speaker 11: terms that he guess? Well, I have the contract?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yeah, her I mean, there's a lot we don't know
- 27:06Speaker 2: about what Robert Kraft said. And if you're an agent,
- 27:09Speaker 2: if that was the first offer, you never accept the
- 27:12Speaker 2: first offer. Uh So that's one thing. Now maybe that's
- 27:16Speaker 2: the third who we don't know how far along these
- 27:19Speaker 2: negotiations are, but sure, you know, so if the agent
- 27:23Speaker 2: could just be playing coy, could be just playing hardball
- 27:26Speaker 2: and see can I get more? And then we don't
- 27:30Speaker 2: know the details, how much of it is guaranteed, When
- 27:32Speaker 2: does the money allocated? You know, you don't know a
- 27:35Speaker 2: lot of the details. So even though it could be
- 27:38Speaker 2: true that it's the highest cornerback deal that on the market,
- 27:42Speaker 2: and it could be true that it's the highest UH
- 27:45Speaker 2: contract in franchise history, there's still a lot of details
- 27:48Speaker 2: that we don't know that the agent might want to
- 27:51Speaker 2: just keep, you know, all right, give.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Me guaranteed money here.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Surrounding the devil is always in the details.
- 27:59Speaker 2: But here's the here's the good news. If those two
- 28:01Speaker 2: things are in fact fact that Robert Kraft said, if
- 28:05Speaker 2: I'm Christian Gonzales, I know that's my baseline. At least
- 28:08Speaker 2: I'm going to get that. So now it's just a
- 28:11Speaker 2: matter of stay healthy so that I can get that,
- 28:15Speaker 2: you know. But I think I'm I'm just from the
- 28:20Speaker 2: way Gonzales is out there and you know, his body language,
- 28:24Speaker 2: and from Robert Crafts saying that, and you know Vrabel,
- 28:28Speaker 2: I think they're going to get this done. And I
- 28:30Speaker 2: think they're going to get it done before camp's over.
- 28:32Speaker 6: I mean, until he is not practicing and suddenly things change,
- 28:35Speaker 6: that's when I think my concern would start to level.
- 28:37Speaker 6: But right now, it feels like everything is fairly in
- 28:39Speaker 6: good faith and he's here and you know, said today
- 28:42Speaker 6: to Karen Grigian that he's going to be out there
- 28:44Speaker 6: on Thursday.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Will he be participating?
- 28:46Speaker 6: We think so, but that's what he said about I'll
- 28:49Speaker 6: be I'll be out there, but that'll be That'll be
- 28:50Speaker 6: another box to check. Is he willing to, you know,
- 28:53Speaker 6: participate in padded practices? And I think he will based
- 28:56Speaker 6: on his demeanors. Yeah, absolutely, I think it's a good sign.
- 28:59Speaker 6: I mean, I'm I'm cautiously optimistic. But again, there could
- 29:02Speaker 6: come and practice and all of a sudden he ain't
- 29:04Speaker 6: going with the ones anymore and he's kind of.
- 29:05Speaker 5: Watching that that would be concerning.
- 29:07Speaker 6: But fingers crossed something happens soon and they announce it
- 29:09Speaker 6: and then you know we're off.
- 29:11Speaker 2: So, you know, if I was a player, I wonder
- 29:12Speaker 2: if it's possible to take insurance out on yourself. Yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 2: you know, so that it's you know, separate from anything
- 29:19Speaker 2: the league offers or the team offers, Like if I
- 29:22Speaker 2: get injured, I have this insurance policy. There is, Yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 2: there is.
- 29:25Speaker 3: There's a lot. And like soccer players get their legs
- 29:27Speaker 3: insured all the time, like like their right foot, you know,
- 29:31Speaker 3: like if they're like a soccer the r right foot dominant,
- 29:34Speaker 3: like you know, stuff like that. But normally that's for
- 29:37Speaker 3: like like policies for things that would happen off the field,
- 29:40Speaker 3: like you know, like an accident or something like that.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Not necessarily. Yeah, I'm talking about like you know, yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 2: I think those get injured playing football.
- 29:48Speaker 6: That seems like an Alex newsletter question, like what would
- 29:50Speaker 6: each of us ensure if we had to ensure?
- 29:52Speaker 2: Okay, that's a good that's.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Think about that one.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, thoughts start.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I still think, you know, with the Gonzo thing, though
- 30:03Speaker 3: I know him not holding out, Like I still think
- 30:07Speaker 3: that the Patriots, like I still think they have most
- 30:10Speaker 3: of the leverage here and I think that his leverage
- 30:13Speaker 3: is playing and playing well. You know, their leverage is
- 30:16Speaker 3: he's under contract for this year and the year the
- 30:18Speaker 3: fifth year option year. So really like they're paying him
- 30:22Speaker 3: early if they pay him.
- 30:23Speaker 2: This off's true.
- 30:24Speaker 3: So like from his from the team perspective, they have
- 30:27Speaker 3: team control over the player for two more years. So
- 30:30Speaker 3: then I don't think that they, in a vacuum would
- 30:33Speaker 3: be in a huge rush to extend him. From Gonzo's perspective,
- 30:37Speaker 3: and you know, you gotta prove you're worth it, you know,
- 30:40Speaker 3: to get him locked up.
- 30:42Speaker 7: That's the balance, and that's what makes these things difficult
- 30:45Speaker 7: and sometimes why they take so long, is you weigh it. Yes,
- 30:49Speaker 7: the team, everything even said is true. The team I
- 30:51Speaker 7: think has more leverage right now than Gonzales because of
- 30:54Speaker 7: the obvious. But at the same time, if everything works
- 30:59Speaker 7: out the way you want on it to as the team,
- 31:01Speaker 7: in other words, Gonzales continues to play, play well and
- 31:04Speaker 7: stay healthy, the number is just going to go up.
- 31:07Speaker 7: It's just going to cost you more in the long run.
- 31:09Speaker 7: See Dallas Cowboys who do this virtually every time they wait,
- 31:14Speaker 7: they wait, they wait, and then they end up having
- 31:16Speaker 7: to pay through the nose.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Well, that might be strategy. They might think it's worth
- 31:21Speaker 2: paying more to be more sure, you know, you know,
- 31:25Speaker 2: so I.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Don't, I mean not to take it to a dark place.
- 31:27Speaker 6: But like Carlton Davis gets banged up a little, Like,
- 31:29Speaker 6: what if that's a serious injury, does that suddenly give
- 31:31Speaker 6: Gonzales a little more leverage? If you're saying, uh, oh,
- 31:34Speaker 6: Carlton Davis is you know, broke his broke steamers can
- 31:37Speaker 6: be out for the year.
- 31:37Speaker 7: Like I wanted to go with something crazy, like I
- 31:42Speaker 7: was thinking like a hammy or something like that's probably
- 31:44Speaker 7: what it is.
- 31:45Speaker 6: But I'm not, you know, but I'm just saying generally,
- 31:47Speaker 6: if if Davis were to get hurt, like it gives
- 31:49Speaker 6: Gonzalez even more leverage.
- 31:51Speaker 5: I feel like, because he's.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Speaking of broken stems. How big a flower basket did
- 31:56Speaker 2: you send to Kyle Shanahan?
- 31:58Speaker 3: I thought it, like should I go? Like which way
- 32:00Speaker 3: should I go? Like maybe he needs help with food,
- 32:03Speaker 3: you know, like an edible arrangements into fruit. You know,
- 32:08Speaker 3: I don't know which direction we wanted to go, but
- 32:10Speaker 3: I'm glad.
- 32:12Speaker 5: But so we did break his fing right and see didn't.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Extensive injuries forty stitches in his face, a concussion. Somebody
- 32:22Speaker 2: wasn't wearing their seat belt. It sounds like, but that's
- 32:24Speaker 2: just me. I don't know. I don't know.
- 32:26Speaker 12: But anyway, everybody knew about it for two weeks and yeah,
- 32:31Speaker 12: well that's to me is the interesting thing that makes
- 32:34Speaker 12: me think a lot about you know, our own coverage,
- 32:36Speaker 12: and just that's the outrageous that they all knew about this,
- 32:38Speaker 12: they all buried it and weren't willing to talk about it.
- 32:41Speaker 7: Interesting.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Uh, I mean all these head coach news things lately
- 32:45Speaker 2: and coach stuff and coaches, you know, position coaches getting fired. Weird.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yeah, the commander's tight ends coach got the boot before,
- 32:54Speaker 3: like the day before.
- 32:55Speaker 7: What happened? I missed this one.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Yeah, the commanders fired their tight ends coach. I'm pretty
- 33:00Speaker 3: sure they reported today and they fired their tight ends
- 33:03Speaker 3: coach like yesterday.
- 33:03Speaker 7: So something happened off, something happened.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I don't want to speculate, I just something happened off.
- 33:11Speaker 3: That's the fact they fired their tight ends.
- 33:13Speaker 6: They got like a really sad story in Kansas City
- 33:15Speaker 6: with Eric Bay and his wife his son allegedly shot
- 33:19Speaker 6: by his son.
- 33:20Speaker 7: Yeah that's yeah, that's that's not.
- 33:23Speaker 6: Not good as they say, could hull. I was just
- 33:27Speaker 6: going to bring this up. Rabel announced the off season
- 33:29Speaker 6: award winners. Just wanted to mention those as well. Were
- 33:32Speaker 6: you guys in I was not, I was hyping the crowd.
- 33:35Speaker 6: I read Oh good, Mike. I read the transcript, and
- 33:37Speaker 6: this was thoroughly confused. Like, yeah, she probably should have, Like,
- 33:42Speaker 6: were those the award winners? Of those guys that performed
- 33:46Speaker 6: well in the off season? Were those the only award winners?
- 33:48Speaker 6: The ones that he just just the four guys? Ways,
- 33:51Speaker 6: you mentioned four second year guys the way.
- 33:53Speaker 3: He said it was, the second year guys all kind
- 33:56Speaker 3: of stood out, and then he named those four players specific.
- 34:00Speaker 7: Right, So does that mean that they were the only
- 34:02Speaker 7: four award winners?
- 34:03Speaker 3: For that is how we all took it in the room.
- 34:05Speaker 7: I know that's how I was taken how it read.
- 34:08Speaker 7: So it was, but I wasn't there, so I wouldn't.
- 34:10Speaker 7: I would certainly defer to you guys.
- 34:12Speaker 6: Yeah, it was Will Campbell, Chair Wilson, Kyle Williams and
- 34:16Speaker 6: Ponder and Christian Ponder Chris that's the quarterback.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Where'd that come from? Not Sam Ponder's husband. Yeah, those
- 34:24Speaker 5: four guys.
- 34:24Speaker 6: So, I mean all guys that that you'd like to
- 34:26Speaker 6: see something out of this year, especially the two Linemen
- 34:29Speaker 6: and Pond.
- 34:30Speaker 7: It was.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You're right, you're right, Yepkay back to the phones. Anthony's
- 34:37Speaker 2: in Seattle. What's up Anthony? Hey?
- 34:39Speaker 9: It was up bread. Paul Deuce, Hey, hey, I got
- 34:46Speaker 9: a bit of a funny observation once. See what you
- 34:49Speaker 9: guys think of it? So uh so the order of
- 34:52Speaker 9: things was turned out on very fortunate for Patriots fans.
- 34:56Speaker 9: We signed A J.
- 34:57Speaker 13: Brown.
- 34:58Speaker 9: They go on to mini camp. It's like instant chemistry
- 35:01Speaker 9: with Drake May. He's got all these worldly bird catches
- 35:04Speaker 9: and all that good stuff. Meantime, Chris Singan's Allez has
- 35:08Speaker 9: got it kind of hold in all this stuff. And
- 35:09Speaker 9: then they leave. They come back in it's training camp,
- 35:12Speaker 9: and then there must be you know, good movement on
- 35:15Speaker 9: the contract talks, because Gonzo surprises everybody and he's a
- 35:18Speaker 9: full participant now on. In a completely unrelated note which
- 35:22Speaker 9: is maybe possibly related, we haven't seen or heard from
- 35:25Speaker 9: AJ Brown since and the thing that it's funny to me,
- 35:30Speaker 9: but also I'm not worried because A J. Brown doesn't
- 35:33Speaker 9: have to face Gonzo every week. But I do feel
- 35:37Speaker 9: like it's very fortunate that that Gonzo wasn't a participant,
- 35:43Speaker 9: like if he was a full participant in mini camp
- 35:46Speaker 9: and then he's come in and he's shutting AJ Brown down,
- 35:48Speaker 9: like as soon as we got the guy, and we
- 35:50Speaker 9: didn't get a chance to see him like look like
- 35:52Speaker 9: a number one and make these amazing plays and say, Okay,
- 35:55Speaker 9: we got a guy. We gave him a number one pick.
- 35:57Speaker 9: He still looks like a J. Brown. I'm gonna be
- 35:59Speaker 9: a little concerned because you know, we'd say, okay, well
- 36:02Speaker 9: he's got Christian Gonzolts on him. But at the same time,
- 36:04Speaker 9: we're like, he's coming off a down year by his standard,
- 36:07Speaker 9: and he hasn't he's not able to get oldenings but
- 36:09Speaker 9: do anything. So I think it was kind of fortunate
- 36:12Speaker 9: the order on which things went. Curious to see what
- 36:14Speaker 9: you guys think, that's all I got.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Okay, I concern level for AJ Brown is zero. Now.
- 36:19Speaker 3: The other newcoming receiver that they signed in free agency
- 36:23Speaker 3: may be a little bit higher on Romeo Dobbs, but
- 36:25Speaker 3: I think a lot of what we're seeing with AJ
- 36:27Speaker 3: Brown right now is him and Drake may getting on
- 36:30Speaker 3: the same page. You know, I want you to curl
- 36:32Speaker 3: look for the ball on your outside shoulder instead of
- 36:35Speaker 3: your inside shoulder. I want you to when you get
- 36:37Speaker 3: go across the field on a crossing route, I want
- 36:40Speaker 3: your depth at twelve yards instead of you know, ten
- 36:42Speaker 3: or eight or whatever like. These are all things that
- 36:45Speaker 3: they're working out this time of year, and I and
- 36:48Speaker 3: I don't. I think the one thing you would say
- 36:50Speaker 3: with AJ Brown is like AJ Brown is not this
- 36:53Speaker 3: like elite separator anymore where he's getting five yards of
- 36:56Speaker 3: separation on routes. So the quarterback's got to nowhere to
- 36:59Speaker 3: put the all for him, you know, they they've got
- 37:01Speaker 3: to be on the same page and have that kind
- 37:03Speaker 3: of chemistry so that he throws him open where AJ
- 37:06Speaker 3: Brown can use his hands and use his body control.
- 37:08Speaker 3: All that kind of stuff is going to come.
- 37:10Speaker 2: And I saw one moment where uh May had to
- 37:14Speaker 2: adjust his you know, at the line of scrimmage, had
- 37:16Speaker 2: to tell a J. Brown where to go. And especially
- 37:19Speaker 2: last year where like Evan you said that in Philadelphia
- 37:22Speaker 2: he was kind of used one way and here is
- 37:24Speaker 2: being asked to do a whole bunch of stuff, which
- 37:26Speaker 2: is a good thing. And he says he likes it,
- 37:28Speaker 2: but it's going to be a learning curve.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, No, I'm not.
- 37:31Speaker 6: I share Evan's thoughts, and I'm just excited to see
- 37:34Speaker 6: those guys get going. I think they will. And I
- 37:37Speaker 6: think when the pads come on too, just because of
- 37:38Speaker 6: the physicality A J. Brown, that might that might boost
- 37:41Speaker 6: a little bit too.
- 37:41Speaker 7: But I agree with Evan's point too, because I I
- 37:44Speaker 7: don't think when you watch him like I don't, I
- 37:46Speaker 7: don't see any issues physically, you know, I don't see him.
- 37:49Speaker 6: I mean, I think he still moves well. And it
- 37:53Speaker 6: is a matter of are they locked in?
- 37:57Speaker 7: Do they know where? You know? Does does Drake have
- 38:00Speaker 7: the confidence as to where he's going to be? And
- 38:02Speaker 7: I think that can be just developed with more consistency,
- 38:07Speaker 7: you know, running the routes and doing all the things
- 38:08Speaker 7: that you need to do. Would you unplug here, Freddy? Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 7: I mean I'm not overly concerned, but I do think
- 38:16Speaker 7: there's you know, there's a learning curve for both Dobs
- 38:20Speaker 7: and Brown. And I think it's not necessarily something that
- 38:25Speaker 7: I'm saying like, well, he's declining Brown here specifically, he's
- 38:30Speaker 7: declining and this is just the start of it. And
- 38:32Speaker 7: this doesn't look good that said. I mean, I'd like
- 38:35Speaker 7: to see him catch more than I think. Someone said
- 38:37Speaker 7: today he's like caught three out of ten passes that
- 38:41Speaker 7: Drake has thrown to him. I don't you know, you
- 38:42Speaker 7: guys know I don't charge such things, but that you know,
- 38:46Speaker 7: to my just anecdotally, that makes sense. Yeah, because I
- 38:49Speaker 7: haven't seen a lot of connections between it.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Just seems like a lot of it is like you know,
- 38:52Speaker 3: he had one today where he was curling up in
- 38:55Speaker 3: front of Charles Woods and A J. Brown curled in
- 38:58Speaker 3: and Drake May threw it to his outside shoulder, so
- 39:01Speaker 3: he turned inside to look for the ball and the
- 39:03Speaker 3: ball was outside and if he had just turned outside
- 39:06Speaker 3: like Drake May saw it, it's ketch, right, It's it's
- 39:09Speaker 3: not a big catch, but it's a catch. You know.
- 39:12Speaker 3: The interception they had the other day I thought was
- 39:15Speaker 3: on Drake. I just he was wide open in the
- 39:17Speaker 3: middle of the field and he just sailed it, you
- 39:19Speaker 3: know it just yeah, you know, So like I think
- 39:21Speaker 3: there's a lot of that kind of context that exists
- 39:24Speaker 3: within it because at this point in time, like I said,
- 39:26Speaker 3: I don't think AJ Brown is somebody that's going to
- 39:29Speaker 3: create all this separation is going to be wide open
- 39:32Speaker 3: as a result, I think that you're going to have
- 39:34Speaker 3: to use body positioning and contested catchability and all that
- 39:38Speaker 3: good stuff kind of like what we see with Booty
- 39:40Speaker 3: and that type of stuff takes time. You know, that
- 39:42Speaker 3: takes reps. So I also like it wasn't I didn't
- 39:46Speaker 3: think Diggs was like electric in camp last summer either,
- 39:50Speaker 3: Like I didn't think that Diggs was like consistently great
- 39:54Speaker 3: in camp either. So that's why I'm just not I
- 39:58Speaker 3: expect aj Brown to be there week one and look
- 40:00Speaker 3: like a has been.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Placed on NiFi. Yes, yes, when did that happen? The
- 40:05Speaker 2: other day?
- 40:07Speaker 6: We did see him walk up the hill and seem
- 40:09Speaker 6: like he briefly was like you know, watching so.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Uh, Josh from half Moon, New York writes in first,
- 40:18Speaker 2: he wants to say that you were absolutely right, Deuce. Uh.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Going to camp is a great take. He's went with
- 40:25Speaker 2: his kid and they got a bunch of autographs, so
- 40:27Speaker 2: they were having the great experience for an eight year
- 40:30Speaker 2: old kid. Yep, So he wants to thank you for that.
- 40:33Speaker 2: But also he has a question about how NFI works.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Is it the same as PUP. Do they get six
- 40:38Speaker 2: weeks into the season before they have to be activated
- 40:41Speaker 2: or they revert to I R. So how does NFI work.
- 40:45Speaker 3: It's the same, it's four weeks, though not six, but
- 40:48Speaker 3: it's both of them are treated exactly the same. You
- 40:50Speaker 3: can come off the list at any time during training camp.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Once you get into the season, you get moved to
- 40:55Speaker 3: reserve PUP or reserve NFI, and then you have four weeks.
- 40:58Speaker 3: It's a four week windows. So it's all of them.
- 41:01Speaker 3: There's the same I R, N FI, p UP all
- 41:04Speaker 3: kind of operate the same in season. Out of season,
- 41:07Speaker 3: obviously it's a little bit different. But he could we
- 41:11Speaker 3: could be out there on Thursday and any of those
- 41:13Speaker 3: guys could be off the list just like that.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 7: The one difference between n FI and PUP is payroll.
- 41:19Speaker 6: They're not necessarily on the hook to pay them for
- 41:22Speaker 6: an NFI situation as opposed to a PUP.
- 41:25Speaker 3: That's why, because it depends on the PUP. Is a
- 41:29Speaker 3: football injury it happened here at the facility, NFI is
- 41:35Speaker 3: it happened away from the facility. Usually when a player
- 41:37Speaker 3: is training away from the.
- 41:39Speaker 7: And it doesn't mean he's not getting paid but I'm saying,
- 41:42Speaker 7: when when a player is on n FI, he is
- 41:44Speaker 7: not necessarily getting paid, they can still choose to pay them,
- 41:47Speaker 7: you know. In other words, if a guy was like
- 41:49Speaker 7: they cut him, if he was working out on his
- 41:51Speaker 7: own and he got hurt, you know, like preparing for
- 41:54Speaker 7: the season or something like that, they might pay him anyway.
- 41:58Speaker 5: Screwing around.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Yeah, he was you snowmobiling, you know in you know,
- 42:03Speaker 7: in Colorado or something, and he hit a tree. You know,
- 42:06Speaker 7: maybe they wouldn't.
- 42:07Speaker 3: That feels like a you know, like schooler, feels like
- 42:11Speaker 3: a weight room injury. You know, like he was working
- 42:13Speaker 3: out for the season and came in was like, I
- 42:16Speaker 3: don't know, oh yeah, I'm not feeling great. Uh. You
- 42:18Speaker 3: know c J. Dupree is walking around with a cast
- 42:21Speaker 3: on his wrist that looks like he got hurt in
- 42:23Speaker 3: mini camp and we just didn't know about it.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I want to welcome aboard our new sponsor, Legal Seafoods.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Legal Seafoods is giving fans a true taste of Boston
- 42:32Speaker 2: this season as the official seafood restaurant of the New
- 42:35Speaker 2: England Patriots. Pregame or postgame Get the Seafood you Love
- 42:39Speaker 2: at your local restaurant today Legal Seafoods dot com. I'm
- 42:44Speaker 2: glad to have you when one of your sponsors is
- 42:47Speaker 2: something you truly love to use, loved, like brunt workwear
- 42:52Speaker 2: or Legal Seafoods. It's a tradition in my house Christmas
- 42:55Speaker 2: Eve tradition. We bring in the big shrimp cocktail and
- 42:58Speaker 2: the clamshowder and we have that for Christmas Eve every year.
- 43:02Speaker 2: We've been doing that for a long That's funny.
- 43:04Speaker 3: We do too.
- 43:05Speaker 2: That.
- 43:05Speaker 5: What's funny because I had We used to always take
- 43:07Speaker 5: my grandmother out.
- 43:07Speaker 6: That was her favorite place. That was always where we
- 43:09Speaker 6: went for her birthday was Legal Seafood. When I used
- 43:12Speaker 6: to come here to visit, I kind of had a tradition.
- 43:14Speaker 6: I would stop at the Legal Seafood right at the
- 43:16Speaker 6: brain Tree Split right there, and I would have, you know,
- 43:18Speaker 6: sit at the bar and have this seafood castle that
- 43:20Speaker 6: they don't make anymore, which maybe now, Oh it's beautiful,
- 43:26Speaker 6: yeah yeah, yeah. So I'm excited and hopefully we get
- 43:29Speaker 6: some chowder or something, or at least some hats or something.
- 43:31Speaker 7: They want something the second I'm going to get it. Anyway,
- 43:34Speaker 7: this story would be that like his grandfather you know,
- 43:36Speaker 7: actually actually created legal seafood.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Legal seafood. Welcome aboard.
- 43:41Speaker 3: You and Barth are like that. You both love story
- 43:43Speaker 3: about you're nostalgia like, Oh and I was you know
- 43:47Speaker 3: a kid that we used.
- 43:48Speaker 2: To do this?
- 43:48Speaker 7: Why Mike can't I get along so well?

- 46:31Speaker 6: Brawn is now a member of the New England Patriots,

- 46:43Speaker 2: With the with the uniform on, I was like, man,
- 46:45Speaker 2: this is uh, this is real.
- 46:49Speaker 19: You have nine players that were drafted, another dozen undrafted
- 46:53Speaker 19: free agents, plus seventeen players.
- 46:55Speaker 2: That are in for a tryout.
- 46:57Speaker 20: All of these young men looking to achieve their dream
- 46:59Speaker 20: of one day.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Playing in the NFL.
- 47:02Speaker 21: We got forty four new players that weren't with us
- 47:05Speaker 21: last year in the spring.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Okay, and I.
- 47:06Speaker 21: Think that you gots are starting to pregure out how
- 47:08Speaker 21: we want to do things.
- 47:19Speaker 10: You know.
- 47:19Speaker 18: It's mass made to have them going back to my roots,
- 47:21Speaker 18: you know, and let's feels good.
- 47:32Speaker 20: I think it's crucial to really you know, rehash off
- 47:34Speaker 20: of last year being with the same office coordinator, same
- 47:37Speaker 20: head coach, you know, same pieces, some of the same
- 47:40Speaker 20: pieces that we have of you know, what we did well,
- 47:42Speaker 20: what we can improve on, aspirations that we have of
- 47:44Speaker 20: maybe getting to that game again and be on the
- 47:46Speaker 20: right side of it. So little things that maybe can
- 47:49Speaker 20: we can talk about now that can come to life
- 47:51Speaker 20: here in f any camp that we can talk about
- 47:52Speaker 20: and be like, remember you know this and no tas
- 47:54Speaker 20: of what we said we wanted accomplished to maybe reach
- 47:56Speaker 20: that goal.
- 47:59Speaker 21: Gosh, just keep building Hey, we actually be better than
- 48:02Speaker 21: we were yesterday.
- 48:02Speaker 2: And we were absolutely we got to work more urgency
- 48:05Speaker 2: this year.
- 48:06Speaker 1: We're kind of just building on to the foundation that
- 48:08Speaker 1: we already set.
- 48:09Speaker 10: Oh, guys are just getting more confident in.
- 48:11Speaker 7: Their skills every day that we come in.
- 48:13Speaker 18: You know, we're just ready ready for the opportunity again.
- 48:16Speaker 20: And phase one of our offense and kind of build
- 48:20Speaker 20: it from there is you can kind of teach them
- 48:22Speaker 20: the foundation.
- 48:24Speaker 19: You know, we build a lot of charaderie out here,
- 48:26Speaker 19: a lot of new faces in the building and everything,
- 48:28Speaker 19: and I feel like, you know, this is where it starts,
- 48:30Speaker 19: and uh, you.
- 48:31Speaker 7: Know, we got to build a good foundation.
- 48:34Speaker 10: Really talented teams.
- 48:35Speaker 18: So I'm excited to obviously get to the real OTAs
- 48:38Speaker 18: and practices and things like that so we can really
- 48:40Speaker 18: start to jail together as a team.
- 48:46Speaker 20: I think it's great to you know, get around the
- 48:48Speaker 20: new guys, you know, new guys on defense, new guys
- 48:50Speaker 20: on offense, you know, joining them and seeing you know,
- 48:53Speaker 20: bringing them in to you know, how we do things
- 48:55Speaker 20: and how we can see them in our offense. So
- 49:01Speaker 20: I think it's great to you know, have guys like
- 49:02Speaker 20: Romeo and Abt and guys that are new additions for
- 49:05Speaker 20: us that are going to make be good players for
- 49:07Speaker 20: us in this offense work shut ups man playing together
- 49:11Speaker 20: on and three does.
- 49:17Speaker 22: Do you feel his rooms to add a top proced
- 49:21Speaker 22: if the opportunity presents itself, perhaps even in the coming week.
- 49:26Speaker 23: We always, and again, and when I say we, that
- 49:29Speaker 23: includes Elliott, Ryan and Stretch the coaching staff. We want
- 49:34Speaker 23: to continue to improve the roster every opportunity that.
- 49:38Speaker 5: We get, pointing out that it's now likely.
- 49:43Speaker 2: That A. J.
- 49:44Speaker 7: Brown goes to the Patriots.
- 49:45Speaker 10: At the end of the day, it's.
- 49:47Speaker 24: His speak planet throws off his backup whine.
- 49:49Speaker 10: Open down the field.
- 49:50Speaker 9: He's got his man's A J.
- 49:52Speaker 7: Brownie took in the second round out of own this.
- 49:55Speaker 4: When you look at it in totality, I think it's
- 49:57Speaker 4: more about the fit in the mentality of A J.
- 50:01Speaker 4: Brown in this Patriots culture that they're trying to build
- 50:04Speaker 4: as a football player.
- 50:05Speaker 6: We know a J.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Brown is going to play well and play at a
- 50:07Speaker 4: high level.
- 50:08Speaker 10: It's another gift to Drake May.
- 50:10Speaker 23: The unique thing about the players is there's forty four
- 50:13Speaker 23: new players to our spring football.
- 50:15Speaker 14: The New England Patriots select Killer Lamoo, Dave acis Eli,
- 50:22Speaker 14: Rara dun Cob.
- 50:24Speaker 10: Plenty excited about the players that we got.
- 50:26Speaker 23: They knew my affinity for the for some of the
- 50:29Speaker 23: players that we took.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Love you know, the atmosphere of the team.
- 50:32Speaker 19: Coach Grabel is the energy that he brings the team,
- 50:34Speaker 19: you know, shaking the hands of all the players.
- 50:36Speaker 10: After the games.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I love that.
- 50:42Speaker 19: I love that as a head coach, and you know,
- 50:44Speaker 19: the energy that just wears off with everyone else.
- 50:47Speaker 20: It's a full house for the Patriots as they hold
- 50:49Speaker 20: their rookie mini camp this weekend.
- 50:54Speaker 10: Yeah, I see, how's it going.
- 50:56Speaker 19: Run out they had last year going to the Super Bowl.
- 50:58Speaker 19: You know the energy that this seem has. It's a
- 51:00Speaker 19: young team with lots of energy and that's on the rise.
- 51:04Speaker 4: All right.
- 51:05Speaker 17: I got a hundred feedback on those and then if
- 51:07Speaker 17: you like to do as we can get more of them.
- 51:08Speaker 10: If not, then we can go back to the drawing
- 51:10Speaker 10: or let's figure someone this.
- 51:11Speaker 8: Okay, I think this team is super well ran. With
- 51:18Speaker 8: the character of this team, everyone cares about each other.
- 51:25Speaker 10: I'm Mike Bradley. You can call me coach, you call
- 51:27Speaker 10: me Mighty, call me brands.
- 51:29Speaker 21: You don't have to call me sir. Okay, if you
- 51:31Speaker 21: want to, you can. But this isn't this is pro football, Okay.
- 51:36Speaker 21: We're making connections, We're making relationships. This is us prolong
- 51:42Speaker 21: your journey, Okay, and everybody's got a different A.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Lot of the meetings aren't about football.
- 51:47Speaker 20: Well we do have football meetings, but there's a lot
- 51:49Speaker 20: of meetings literally just focusing on the team identity and
- 51:52Speaker 20: just our culture.
- 51:56Speaker 10: Tell me somebody that helps serve your food. I'm hunder
- 51:59Speaker 10: out of mill our fresh memory.
- 52:02Speaker 21: I bet tomorrow we'll going in and we'll introduce ourselves
- 52:05Speaker 21: to the men and women in that caffeteria that.
- 52:07Speaker 25: Are busting our ass to make sure that you guys
- 52:09Speaker 25: got something to eat. You look, you say Hi Jackie,
- 52:12Speaker 25: I'm Kale, It's nice to meet you. Or Hi free
- 52:15Speaker 25: Any I'm Caleb, it's nice to meet you. Okay, make
- 52:18Speaker 25: sure we do that, fellas.
- 52:19Speaker 10: That's sport.
- 52:20Speaker 21: Most of you guys that have talked to Okay, what
- 52:23Speaker 21: you got here, I refer to you having to own
- 52:27Speaker 21: your own journey.
- 52:29Speaker 10: Your journey is going to be different, okay than a
- 52:32Speaker 10: lot of other guys.
- 52:33Speaker 21: All these people in the room are going to help
- 52:35Speaker 21: you understand what your journey is. If you don't know
- 52:39Speaker 21: from this day on, none of that match where you
- 52:42Speaker 21: were drafted.
- 52:44Speaker 10: You have to understand it. Our rough we went to
- 52:46Speaker 10: the super Bowl, okay, and this is not a knock
- 52:49Speaker 10: one man. With the players that were.
- 52:51Speaker 21: Not drafted that we're on second and third contracts that
- 52:55Speaker 21: were major, major contributors.
- 52:58Speaker 10: We signed to free as that were drafted in the
- 53:01Speaker 10: eighth round. How many rounds are there?
- 53:04Speaker 2: Baron?
- 53:05Speaker 21: So they're sad right the eighth rown is, Hey, let's
- 53:08Speaker 21: fuck you jus find a place where you come and develop.
- 53:11Speaker 10: So I'm gonna tell you that first, it doesn't matter
- 53:14Speaker 10: how you got it. The only thing that matters is
- 53:16Speaker 10: what you do from this point up.
- 53:18Speaker 8: Everyone's gonna play with effort and finish, and everyone's gonna
- 53:21Speaker 8: do everything they can to prepare the best they can
- 53:23Speaker 8: and play the hardest they can. And I think that's
- 53:26Speaker 8: a big reason why you know that they played the
- 53:28Speaker 8: way they did last year. And I think only you
- 53:31Speaker 8: know the sky's the limit right now.
- 53:32Speaker 26: On Monday, you're gonna be sitting in here with our
- 53:36Speaker 26: football team, with the majority of our football team, and
- 53:39Speaker 26: you won't be sitting in these same seats. You'll wait
- 53:42Speaker 26: to the house go through all this later, but you'll
- 53:44Speaker 26: wait for them to sit down. Okay, then you'll find
- 53:46Speaker 26: a seat and we'll go through all that.
- 53:48Speaker 21: But that's what we're trying to get you ready for,
- 53:51Speaker 21: so that you can quickly gave earn their respect.
- 53:55Speaker 10: There's nothing better that burning respect.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Of that.
- 54:05Speaker 7: And now great moments in.
- 54:10Speaker 2: History.
- 54:10Speaker 7: Rogers in Foxborough, Hey, Roger, Hey, guys.
- 54:13Speaker 9: First of all, I think you need to let Meghan
- 54:15Speaker 9: talk more.
- 54:15Speaker 11: You guys bickering in the background.
- 54:17Speaker 2: She's the best you have on that show. Okay, well
- 54:19Speaker 2: listen another sign.
- 54:20Speaker 7: My god, it's gonna be bigger than There's no muzzle
- 54:25Speaker 7: on Megan.
- 54:25Speaker 2: She can talk anytime she wants.
- 54:27Speaker 9: So I heard that Dontrellan is retiring. Does that mean
- 54:31Speaker 9: we have a chance for Danny at Wink to be
- 54:33Speaker 9: a agitive.
- 54:33Speaker 11: Receiver on this team?
- 54:34Speaker 7: Now, I don't know about the retiring thing, but dontrell
- 54:36Speaker 7: Emin looks lost in the first three days in practice.
- 54:39Speaker 10: Second tell him right.
- 54:40Speaker 20: He didn't he would late the camp and now he's
- 54:42Speaker 20: not out here.
- 54:42Speaker 11: Does feels like a guy.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Dontrell Man wasn't late.
- 54:44Speaker 5: He was not late to camp.
- 54:45Speaker 1: No, there were reports that he was not going to
- 54:47Speaker 1: show up on time, and then he did.
- 54:51Speaker 7: He was he was, but he was here.
- 54:53Speaker 22: Men, ye got your mouth less a lady's feet.
- 54:56Speaker 7: Wow, you can continue to make stuff up. But he's
- 54:58Speaker 7: been the first guy on the field the first days
- 55:01Speaker 7: and then you can call him late if you want,
- 55:02Speaker 7: but that's okay. But you can come without information and
- 55:05Speaker 7: just be as smart. All right, you're right, thanks, Roger.
- 55:10Speaker 7: I'm sorry, you're right, Roger.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Roger bringing it. That's another great moment from of course,
- 55:17Speaker 2: Roger was the one and only Andy Hart.
- 55:20Speaker 6: Rogers only got me and he did not even disguise
- 55:24Speaker 6: as not one bit very busy.
- 55:26Speaker 7: But we were, in fairness, we were up in the
- 55:29Speaker 7: ramps so sometimes like the audio is, and.
- 55:31Speaker 2: We were actually not in the bleachers in the VIP section.
- 55:35Speaker 7: Yeah, good call.
- 55:35Speaker 5: I remember you guys did it there. That's so nice.
- 55:38Speaker 7: But yeah, Andy Hart got me, catfished you loser.
- 55:42Speaker 3: He has not changed one bit, Andy Hart, No, Paul,
- 55:46Speaker 3: he's at the same interaction on but that.
- 55:48Speaker 2: Yeah, well he's always hated the fans. He don't ever change.
- 55:52Speaker 7: He was the first guy on the field those first
- 55:55Speaker 7: three years and then and then he left.
- 55:58Speaker 2: What year was that?
- 56:00Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know, why was any here was he off.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Of the I want to say, like twenty ten's right,
- 56:04Speaker 3: like eighteen nineteen?
- 56:05Speaker 2: I mean he left? Was he was he out?
- 56:08Speaker 5: I think he had just left Ryeah.
- 56:09Speaker 6: I mean because if you guys were in there, it
- 56:10Speaker 6: might almost you hadn't Maybe it was between you already
- 56:13Speaker 6: started yet Yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it was not. It was not a good stint
- 56:16Speaker 3: for don Oh God, who he was?
- 56:20Speaker 7: He was lost that I'm telling you.
- 56:21Speaker 2: He looked lost to rights in first, I want to say,
- 56:25Speaker 2: love the show. Excited to see what Patriots do this season.
- 56:27Speaker 2: My question is about NFL versus college weight room programs.
- 56:31Speaker 2: A lot of the time we say ex player is
- 56:33Speaker 2: going to be really good once they get into an
- 56:35Speaker 2: NFL weight room. Is there a difference in what they
- 56:38Speaker 2: do in the NFL versus college or is it just
- 56:40Speaker 2: a matter of the player being older. If the NFL
- 56:43Speaker 2: does do different things, why doesn't the college game mirror that.
- 56:47Speaker 2: I think a lot of it does have to do
- 56:49Speaker 2: with physical your body matures.
- 56:52Speaker 5: Yeah right, you know I got a kick yesterday.
- 56:55Speaker 6: I listened to Braden Swinston talk about how he changed
- 56:57Speaker 6: his diet. It was actually pretty funny. He's like, you know,
- 57:00Speaker 6: talking about all the crappy used to eat like airheads, gushers.
- 57:03Speaker 6: He's like, now we eat plantains. I don't even know
- 57:05Speaker 6: what a plantain was. So apparently that's a big part
- 57:08Speaker 6: of he said that was a big thing for them,
- 57:09Speaker 6: cleaning up your diet.
- 57:10Speaker 16: I know.
- 57:11Speaker 2: But like our head nutritious, Ted Harper came from Ohio State,
- 57:16Speaker 2: so he brought a lot of this stuff. You know,
- 57:18Speaker 2: a lot of these colleges are kind of ahead of
- 57:22Speaker 2: pro football teams when it comes to nutrition. They've got
- 57:25Speaker 2: like whole you know, student body. You know, masters people
- 57:30Speaker 2: getting their masters like working on this stuff. So a
- 57:33Speaker 2: lot of times the stuff that the pros use or
- 57:36Speaker 2: NFL teams come from college. When it comes to that stuff,
- 57:40Speaker 2: I think it.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Just I'm sure like ninety percent of it is just
- 57:44Speaker 3: your body maturing, yes, right, But I think the other
- 57:46Speaker 3: ten percent might be it's a year round thing. Like
- 57:50Speaker 3: you're not going to school, you're not going you're not
- 57:52Speaker 3: worrying about now your job, this is your job is
- 57:54Speaker 3: your sole focus. On top of that, you know, now
- 57:57Speaker 3: you're getting paid a nil, but you're getting paid more
- 57:59Speaker 3: to be in the NFL. So now it's like a
- 58:02Speaker 3: job that you were getting paid to do and so
- 58:04Speaker 3: like a Brandon Swinson is gonna he said it to himself,
- 58:06Speaker 3: I'm taking it more seriously the business. You know, part
- 58:10Speaker 3: of the business is being in good shape.
- 58:12Speaker 5: Being a professional.
- 58:13Speaker 3: Yeah, right, So I think it's more about maturity in
- 58:16Speaker 3: that respect and changing from like a collegiate athlete to
- 58:20Speaker 3: a pro athlete.
- 58:21Speaker 5: It is interesting though, like you said, and that was
- 58:22Speaker 5: exactly where I was going to go with it.
- 58:24Speaker 6: Like a lot of times these guys are twenty two
- 58:25Speaker 6: to twenty three, and it's really where you start to
- 58:27Speaker 6: round out and get that man strength. But I also
- 58:29Speaker 6: see guys and I remember I was interviewing gay back
- 58:32Speaker 6: as his high school coach and him saying, like he's
- 58:33Speaker 6: a full grown man at fifteen.
- 58:35Speaker 5: You know, like do those guys still cut you know?
- 58:37Speaker 6: Or is he kind of because we hear all the
- 58:39Speaker 6: time about guys he's kind of maxed out, right, Like
- 58:41Speaker 6: there's certain guys that you look at, tight skinned athlete.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Yeah, maxed out.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Was usually because they're older. Yeah, you know, like guys
- 58:47Speaker 3: that come into the league. That's the whole that's the
- 58:49Speaker 3: whole thing, is that if what's what's wrong with the
- 58:52Speaker 3: prospect being twenty four to twenty five at the draft,
- 58:54Speaker 3: it's that his body's matured, so it's not going to
- 58:57Speaker 3: get better, versus like Will Tramble is twenty two, his
- 59:01Speaker 3: body should continue to mature. Drake was twenty two when
- 59:04Speaker 3: he was drafted. His body should continue to mature. But
- 59:07Speaker 3: when you're Jaden Daniels at twenty five, he's always kind
- 59:11Speaker 3: of yeah.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Here he is Christian in La. What's up Christian?
- 59:18Speaker 10: Hey you guys, Hey, you guys.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Hey.
- 59:21Speaker 24: First off, I don't know if you guys read the nusletter,
- 59:24Speaker 24: but I do. And to my caller last week that
- 59:28Speaker 24: tried to call me out, apparently the other people with
- 59:32Speaker 24: testas that have the same problem. So to that call
- 59:34Speaker 24: it read the newsletter. Anyway, onto football.
- 59:39Speaker 22: So do you guys think of would it be like
- 59:42Speaker 22: pruiting for a team to do this or I've ever
- 59:44Speaker 22: seen a team do this where a guy like Kayshawn Booty,
- 59:47Speaker 22: who's really coming on in training camp after having a
- 59:51Speaker 22: great but I consider breakout year last year, is really
- 59:55Speaker 22: you know, you're auditioning him for trade Potter. So the
- 59:57Speaker 22: team sort of slants more rents to him to help
- 1:00:01Speaker 22: him stand out, so that before the season starts, maybe
- 1:00:05Speaker 22: there's a linebacker or a tight end that we can
- 1:00:08Speaker 22: trade for him, because now he really does look like
- 1:00:10Speaker 22: a number one receive on some other teams.
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: That's first question.
- 1:00:13Speaker 22: The second question is this, would you guys be open
- 1:00:16Speaker 22: to a Patriots defensive.
- 1:00:19Speaker 24: Front line of Christian Barmore, Milton Williams and b to
- 1:00:24Speaker 24: Bay Thank.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: You guys, Yeah, thanks Christian. He said he wants to
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: play for an l A team in West coast team.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: He's from California and he went to Washington, so he's
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: looking to get to the left coast.
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: A great player, a little older. I think they like
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: what they have. I think they've invested enough in the
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: defensive line.
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: I would take him, would take paying him.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: And between Barmore and Milon Williams, Oh my.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: God, wow, good luck. I mean.
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: It even it even fills one of the few needs
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: that we've been talking about. Right, you don't believe in
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: a whole offseason, you know, like that sort of run stuffing,
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: you know, the interior defensive lineman.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: But I think that's yeah, he's I mean, what though
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: if he goes to the Rams possible? I mean and
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Aaron Donald comes out of retirement.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I he That was the reporting last night is
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: that he wants to go to the West Coast and
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: go closer to home. Uh, he's thirty one, he wants
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: a new contract. He doesn't really want to be in
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: the Northeast. It doesn't sound like so there's not a
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: whole lot of things that signaled that he would come here.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: To his first question, I think that happens more in
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: the preseason than it does in training camp. Like, certainly
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: guys get showcased in preseason games all the time. I'm
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: not I wouldn't not say keish on Booty level. I
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: feel like it's usually like a little bit lower than that.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: But guys in the preseason all the time and go
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: tear it up in the third preseason game against a
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: bunch of four string guys and trying to have.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Some for them.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean that absolutely does happen though from time
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: to time where you accentuate a guy. I don't necessarily
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: think that the Patriots have done that with Booty. I
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: just think that he continues to maximize his opportunities. When
- 1:02:10Speaker 7: they throw it to him, he catches it. I don't
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: think he's had a huge volume no training camp so far,
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: Like five six catches, but everyone remember, you remember him
- 1:02:17Speaker 7: because they've been good, good players.
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: It was the one today where he kind of just
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: fell in the middle of the field. It was low,
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: looked like a low pass.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: Even that I thought was a good catch.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: I think was that off of Drake because I kind
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: of if I'm remembering that, I feel kind of like
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: what that was?
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: Yeah, that was what kind of all of a sudden
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: after that point he started.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: It was actually a good throw by Drake too, was low,
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: but I think it was the only place he could
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: have put it. It was good because he was bracketed
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: out there.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: And then they also got behind the defense again. Later
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: on they blew the whistles.
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: I don't know why.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Oh I know why, because somebody hit Drake. Uh, stay
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: off the quarterback. This happened in the spring too, Like
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: what are we doing? You got to be able to
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: practice without hitting the quarterback.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: They here the play dead, but Booty was behind the
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: defense again. They had nothing to do with the whistle blowing.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: I thought it had nothing to do with it either,
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: But it was one of those bang bang things with
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: the whistle. But Barmore was hot, looked like they he
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: was already jawing classic Christian barmore there. But there's a
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: couple of guys that were in Drake May's lap and
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: when he followed through it, he hit the line. Yeah,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: when he followed through and kind of shook his arm.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Lett He was fine, but.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: Like, yeah, there was another one. I think he threw
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: somebody to the ground kind of near him.
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: To look like he was a little gimpy.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: Be careful, take care of each other, fellas quarterback. Saba
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: is in North Carolina, haaba.
- 1:03:40Speaker 27: Hey guys, can you hear me?
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: I'm in the car.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: We didn't hear Yeah, sure, New York.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: Oh, I was just there.
- 1:03:46Speaker 27: Well, well, well way by, well wave to uh like
- 1:03:51Speaker 27: it's on the right. Yeah, we're doing eighty one this
- 1:03:54Speaker 27: time because we went to you gave pied up our
- 1:03:56Speaker 27: doorter and then heading on up eighty one instead.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Of yeah, eighty one.
- 1:04:00Speaker 27: So first thing, yeah, yeah, we just went to BUCkies.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Have never been to it.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: It's like Disney World. This place is crazy. I've never
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: been to a bucket.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: She was.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Okaynton Uh Virginia.
- 1:04:16Speaker 27: But anyway, all right, Hey, let's so enjoyed listening to
- 1:04:19Speaker 27: you guys go over training and.
- 1:04:20Speaker 24: Get this is exciting stuff. Man, I tell you there's
- 1:04:23Speaker 24: football season.
- 1:04:24Speaker 27: And there's waiting for football season.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: That is so true.
- 1:04:28Speaker 9: Uh one quick, Uh.
- 1:04:29Speaker 27: Think about the tight ends coach for Redskins. He got
- 1:04:32Speaker 27: fired because he got calling the d U I and
- 1:04:34Speaker 27: June seventh, so I think it had something to do
- 1:04:36Speaker 27: with that. He was not at O t As either,
- 1:04:38Speaker 27: but the media did not notice it, so I think
- 1:04:41Speaker 27: he's been going for a while. They just announced it, you.
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: Know, recently.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Okay, Kim, all right.
- 1:04:49Speaker 27: Now, Yeah, what I worried about, guys, is I hesitated
- 1:04:56Speaker 27: when A J. Brown was gonna brought over because what
- 1:04:58Speaker 27: he didn't feel, you know, because I'm experience all that
- 1:05:00Speaker 27: into the stuff. But then he seems so excited when
- 1:05:03Speaker 27: he got here, like oh this is awesome. But then
- 1:05:05Speaker 27: I'm seeing where they keep talking about the same page
- 1:05:07Speaker 27: or he's barely missing the throw. And I just don't
- 1:05:10Speaker 27: want Drake to lose the connection he has with like
- 1:05:14Speaker 27: Pop Douglas and Booty and Holland just to make sure
- 1:05:19Speaker 27: A J. Brown feels comfortable. I wanted to make sure
- 1:05:22Speaker 27: Drake goes through his reads and does the right thing
- 1:05:25Speaker 27: and not just what's gonna make a J.
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: Brown?
- 1:05:28Speaker 27: Have you am I overseeing that?
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Well, I think you might be overseeing the connection he
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: had with all those other names you said except for Booty.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: I think you need. I think he needs. I think
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: he needs to improve his connection with with Pop Douglas,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: and he needs to improve what he's doing with Kyle Williams.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Those things need to get better from last year in
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: my opinion, not in mind.
- 1:05:50Speaker 7: I think he had a great connection with all those
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: guys Kyle Williams. No, we're talking about Douglas.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Him.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Douglas is the best.
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: He knows.
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: That was the only guy that didn't have a great connection, Douglas.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Douglas. I feel like is a little bit more about
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: usage than it was about connections. Like I just but
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: we don't have to get into that, seman.
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: I'm just talking.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: I wouldn't worry about that. I'm I'm I'd be concerned
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: with aj Brown. You want to get him on the
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: same page with may Uh, but it's gonna happen. That'll happen.
- 1:06:23Speaker 27: Well, I can tell you from this then the things
- 1:06:25Speaker 27: the ranks they're talking about salivating. We should get Diggs here.
- 1:06:29Speaker 27: Look what he did with Drake Well, Jayden ain't no
- 1:06:32Speaker 27: Drake May.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: And then secondly they're like, oh, maybe.
- 1:06:35Speaker 27: Douglas or Booty would get cut during camp. They're just
- 1:06:38Speaker 27: saladating over the receivers of the Patriots because they let
- 1:06:41Speaker 27: me think that they got the better quarterback and we
- 1:06:43Speaker 27: didn't get the better quarterback. Drag May is the better quarterback.
- 1:06:46Speaker 27: So I'm curious how all this is gonna work out.
- 1:06:48Speaker 27: And I hope the Patriots have a really good season.
- 1:06:51Speaker 27: And I want my tor heel to keep it up
- 1:06:53Speaker 27: because he's very impressive.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Okay, thanks, what she thinks is going on? Yeah, I
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: don't want to get into that, but I think that
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: if Diggs went to the Redskins, not the Redskins, the Commanders,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: he would help Jaydon Daniels. I mean, he's a professional receiver.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: He'll get open and he'll.
- 1:07:13Speaker 7: They need another receiver. Yeah, Terry mclaurin's really good, but
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: he's kind of by himself. Yeah, he would be good
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: for Jaydon Dandy, you know, for a lot of teams.
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: Just real quick, I thought I saw this tweet from
- 1:07:24Speaker 6: Front of the Program Mike Giardi. I counted seventy one
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: offensive snaps the reps for the wide receivers he had
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: Brown forty two, Hollins and Dobbs thirty six, Pop thirty one,
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: Booty twenty seven, Chisholm nine, Williams seven. So that was
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: from the walk through yesterday, I believe, okay ago, where
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: were these from? I don't know that's the exact numbers
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: he gave me today talking about the walk through yesterday.
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: It doesn't specify it said he posted three hours ago.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: I mean, are we really yes? I don't. Yeah, Well,
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: I just think it's interesting he talked about.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: It doesn't look like he's getting a lot of reps,
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: like it just puts a number on.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Yeah, BUCkies is great, guys. Never been to Bucket I've.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: Never been about the b U C C.
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: I yeah, I never even heard of.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: It's like a combination of like a grocery store and
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: like a food place. But first time and only time
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: I went to BUCkies was on a great road trip
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: that I went on with no socks one. Bradley me, uh.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: We were going to from what's the airport in Florida,
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Northern Florida to Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl, and
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: everybody made such a big deal about this BUCkies place,
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: and so we stopped at this BUCkies and I had
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: I had a great brisket barbecue brisket sandwich from BUCkies.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Okay, all right, is there a gas station there too?
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Yep. It's like, all yeah, it's everything everything, but you
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: can you can buy groceries, you can buy sandwiches and
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: like pre made stuff. You can buy gas.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Like it's yeah, you go to Blondie yet the barbecue place.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: I have not been to Blondies.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: I want to go, though.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: We were.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: We had it for one holiday.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, we had it. We catered it. I
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: haven't been to the rest of Darius and Louisville. I
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: don't want to hear anything good about Booty from none
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: of y'all side sides. Fred's yeah, that's fair. So multiple
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: people have commented on keeping Booty, especially Biggie and everybody,
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: especially Evan pooh poohed the idea, talking about I don't
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: know how they'll fit on the field together, blah blah blah.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: Good thing we have Josh coordinating our offense. Also, thanks
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: for all of the analysis and opinions. I love them. Honestly,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: it's fair. Fair.
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: I mean, I'm just going to tell you what's going
- 1:09:34Speaker 7: on in practice right now. If you're asking me if
- 1:09:37Speaker 7: he's going to be on the team, I'm going to
- 1:09:38Speaker 7: say no. But I can only go by what's going
- 1:09:41Speaker 7: on in the field, and he's catching the ball every day.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: I would just like fair email. But one my one
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: rebuttal to that is I have never been anti Kishon
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: Booty from a Patriots point of view. I didn't know
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: if kaish On Booty was going to want accept the
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: role and want to be here in the role that
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: they had for him.
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: Those are two It's another good point.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Those are two different things. Now the emailer is right, like,
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: I'm not trying to like, we're all kind of eh, yeah.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: But the point I'm that my bigger point in the
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: whole thing was in a contract year where this is
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: a guy that's trying to get paid on a second
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: contract in the NFL. If he ends up only playing
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: thirty percent of the snaps and has forty targets this year,
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: how is that going to allow him to cash in
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: next offseason?
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: In a practice when you can have seventy one snaps
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: conservatively sixty plus witch of which were passes, then you
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: can spread it around and get everybody out in and
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: out of the lineup. You know, and he gets you know,
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: a fair amount of reps. I don't think that would
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: be the case for the whole year now. The one
- 1:10:45Speaker 7: thing that I would just talk about is the slow
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: sort of integration of Romeo Dobbs. And obviously he's not
- 1:10:53Speaker 7: going anywhere. They made a huge investment in him. But
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: do you look at it and say, maybe he's not
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: quite right to take on the kind of role that
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: we envisioned for him just yet, so we might need
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: to keep another capable receiver around again. To Evan's point
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: in his Booty okay with that, I don't know, But
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: all all I can comment on is what's going on
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: at practice so far, and Booty's made plays in the
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: three days that they've had real practices.
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: I've been really trying to be really careful about my
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: feelings on Romeo dobs so far because it is super
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: early and all those things. I just haven't been really
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: super blown away by it. In that the one thing
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: I would say about it is like, is he a
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: game player and not a practice player? You know, once
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: the pads get on on a Sunday between the lines,
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: maybe he turns into a different kind of energy and
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: a different kind of player. But so far the spring
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: and what we've seen so far in training camp, I
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: think Booty's been much better and more effective than Romeo
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Dobs And I would say Pop has in a different
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: role as also as well. So like, is there a
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: world where it's actually a j Brown, Khan, Booty and
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: Pop Douglas at first instead of Romeo Dobbs and Romeo
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: Dobbs is on the team. But yeah, kind of you.
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: Have to you have to keep some you know, protection
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: in case it doesn't work out the way the way
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: you would just take And you're right, the email is right,
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: Freddy's Freddy's been on.
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: Those from the beginning.
- 1:12:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I means game, but somehow he ignores the fact
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: that Douglas had the same numbers as.
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: Booty last year. But I test, I wonder what bigger plays.
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: But I'm talking about the relationship with Drake May.
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: Yeah, well that's what I was going to say.
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: I wonder what it's like from Drake's perspective of having
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: a couple of new receivers, wanting to develop chemistry, wanting
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: to get them involved, but also having guys that he's
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: familiar with, and how does he balance that going into
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: practice does he not think about it at all?
- 1:12:48Speaker 10: Is he?
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: I mean, clearly it seems like he's going for a J.
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: Brown a couple of times, he said, certainly the first play,
- 1:12:52Speaker 6: Certainly the first play.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: Of training camp, he wanted to go his way.
- 1:12:55Speaker 6: But you know, is this something where they're saying, let's
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: try to get Dobbs involved a little bit more. Let's
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: try to you know, see feel him eye and develop
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: that chemistry as well. It's a process though, I mean,
- 1:13:05Speaker 6: I mean, I think I'm with the boys. I agree,
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: I haven't seen much out of him, but.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: I think because both he and Brown are new, we
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: might see more of them in what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: but then you have to have Drake in there.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Like I feel like with Brown it's
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: easy to like he's a J.
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: Brown.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: So like Drake is going to throw them the ball,
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: no disrespect at all the Romeo Dobbs. But he hasn't
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: had a career like a J.
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: Brown has had, right, So that's a fair point.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: You know, if if Drake has better chemistry with keishn
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Booty than he does with Romeo Dobbs, it's not like
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: their careers are you know, this isn't comparing apples to
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: oranges as much. So I feel like that's the biggest
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: difference is like A J. Brown has the cachet that
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: when it comes to September and we're in Seattle, like
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: a J. Brown is going to be just fine. He's
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: going to show up and be a J. Brown.
- 1:13:55Speaker 6: I just wonder who's you know, it's about who can
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: play the inside and who can you know, be that
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: quick safety outlet. I think that's what you were kind
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: of hoping from him, that he could be that volume
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: kind of guy in a pinch, that that Drake could
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: go to. I mean you drew the line right to Pop,
- 1:14:09Speaker 6: I mean Chisholm to those guys get increased opportunities if
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: it just doesn't seem to be clicking.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Jason Wright said, all year we had to hear about
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: how the Patriots schedule this year is going to be
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: so much harder so they won't be able to get
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: back to the super Bowl again. I personally never thought
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: the schedule was going to be as difficult as people think. Well,
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: now Vegas has them as the tenth easiest schedule, so
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: if they go back to the Super Bowl, do we
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: have to hear about how easy the schedule.
- 1:14:36Speaker 7: Was well, only if fan this morning that said it's
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: the sixth hardest.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: So I don't know what what.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Models that you're going by. Are you predicting what teams
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: are going to do?
- 1:14:49Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know what the model.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: And that's was a historic thing.
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: It wasn't just like they were won by a nose,
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: like they had a very on paper win percentage all
- 1:14:59Speaker 6: that stuff. But you're right, I mean, on paper, to me,
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: this looks like a much tougher year, But I don't
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: think anybody really cares unless it's like glaringly bad.
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: And that's what I think it was.
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: Like, the biggest factor to me that stands out in
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: this schedule is compared to last year's is travel.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: That's exactly what I was doing it not that we're playing.
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: I mean you started off with Seattle Germany than.
- 1:15:20Speaker 7: The LA to LA's right, Well, they played both LA teams,
- 1:15:24Speaker 7: do they not? No, No, only one Seattle, Yeah, Seattle,
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: Seattle in.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: Germany trip yeah right at the Chiefs, I mean halfway,
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: but even Jags down in Florida.
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: I mean two trips to the West coast, a trip
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: to Germany. Like that's much more to last year. They
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: had like one game outside of the Eastern time zone
- 1:15:45Speaker 7: last year.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: And it was a Central time it was a one
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: hour trust me, you know, we know and no that
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: that's the biggest factor to me is not only travel,
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: but weird days like they start the season on a Wednesday,
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: they have two Thursday night games, they have a Monday
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: night game, like, So it's not just going to be
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: that they're traveling far. It's also going to be like
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: where's the routine?
- 1:16:06Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: Eventually you like to get into the season, and it's
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: like ten straight Sundays, you know, and it's just Sunday Sunday,
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Sunday Sunday. This schedule has got games all over the place.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: Let's see. Christian in Virginia Says had to call out
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Evan for one of his comments Saturday. He was complaining
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: about people pushing the blame on players in the Super Bowl,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: like Will Campbell, and argued that the staff's shortcomings should
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: be scrutinized more. I find this ironic since Evan seemed
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: to be quite the coaching staff defender in February, saying
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: that the offensive game plan wasn't altered because Drake didn't
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: have enough experience for Josh to switch it up in
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: the moment. If Evan believes I'm misremembering, so be it,
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: because I'm not a loser who listens to old episodes.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Had to call him out, though, yes you are.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: I came on here after the super Bowl, the show
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: we did after the super Bowl, and had like a
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: laundry list of grievances with the offensive coaches. So I
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: don't know what that. Maybe I said that as like
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: I'll give them this out, like maybe this is like
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: a caveat to everything that I'm saying, But I can
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: go back through it. I still remember it. I don't
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: even off the top of my head, like all the
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: things that in that Super Bowl that they either didn't do,
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: didn't pivot to or whatever.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: I mean.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: I'm not saying that it should be more or less.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: I just am saying maybe equal, Like I feel like
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: it just they just got their butts kicked. Okay, yes, true,
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: But also like coaching is part of it too, and
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: you know, even the playing field, get good coaching, even
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: the playing field.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Melvin's in New York. What's up? Melvin? Melvin? Melvin in
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: New York.
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: It's not sweet, kid, is it?
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Oh? He's in Tennessee.
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: Sweet kid wanted me to let you know something what
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: he was interacting with me offline. Yeah, he's approaching his
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: fortieth birthday. Oh, and he wanted to know if he
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: continue at.
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: The age of forty if he called sweet Kid sure,
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: I said, I have to go to the boss man
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: and find out.
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: I gotta, I gotta get a ruling.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: What's a sweet kid? Oh? It was a sweet kid?
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: Sweet kid?
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, who's this kle Kayley in Rhode Island. What's up?
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Kaylee?
- 1:18:17Speaker 24: Hey, guys, how a ya good?
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: How are you? I'm good?
- 1:18:22Speaker 27: I had to call I'm I'm pointing right at our
- 1:18:26Speaker 27: southern bell from North Carolina.
- 1:18:29Speaker 9: She made me laugh so hard the week before the
- 1:18:31Speaker 9: Super Bowl because she called Kyle Williams a choice receiver
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: who always makes the wrong choice.
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: Was a good line. I remember that.
- 1:18:40Speaker 9: Yeah, I laughed my butt off.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: He's the name I haven't heard much.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: How's he doing? I'm not done, not doing much yet.
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: No, Yeah, I spoke today. Yeah, sounds like he's trying
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: to just say patient, control what he can control.
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: Control.
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: But I think I knew he was kind of in
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: for this. You know he was buried.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: You knew they were going to try to get Brown
- 1:18:58Speaker 6: and Dobs up to speed, and that there were other
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: guys ahead of him. So it is a weird position
- 1:19:02Speaker 6: for him to be in. Obviously had a great offseason.
- 1:19:05Speaker 6: They give him an award for it. But I think
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: he's one of those guys that is just gonna need
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: to wait for an opportunity or a door to open,
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: or you know, start making some plays with We talked
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: about de Vio playing pretty well, like, can he start
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: to make some plays on the twos, make some noise
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: and start to maybe push into into the conversation for
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: reps because it doesn't seem like he's there right now.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: Start learning special teams Kylie.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Any any particular reason why you're interested in Kyle Williams. Oh,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: don't tell my husband.
- 1:19:31Speaker 7: I got a little crush on him.
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: Oh okay, he's a really funny guy. I just got
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: a great person great personality. So you're you're into the
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: right things.
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: That's another.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: He's another sweet kid, good good hanging.
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: We're shooting the real quick.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I gotta put this schedule thing to bed.
- 1:19:49Speaker 9: We new Englanders.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Come on, let him talk.
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: I love salty fans. It's what runs through my Vein.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: You got that right, all right? Thanks for calling.
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: Thanks. Okay, I like the uh I'm starting to get sweaty.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: It's a good line. Let's see David and Bethlehem in
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: the swaddling clothing. The receiver room is better than any
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: year since the Heydays. Booty really gauges the ball and
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: body position. Well my vote, don't trade him and think
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: about extending him. He's got strong hands, but following the
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: arc of the deep ball in boxing out are his
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: strong suit. Williams is far faster, but Booty is better
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: for deep passes.
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: Okay, I agree about the the overall assessment of the room.
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: It's as deep a room as they've had since. I
- 1:20:37Speaker 7: don't even know when.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: I can't think of a lot of because it's a
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: really good point about oh seven. Maybe he's not fast,
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: but he's a great deep ball receiver. Yeah, and I don't.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: I can't really think of a lot of guys off
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: the top of my head that are that. Like, when
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: you think of a deep ball receiver, I got one.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: You think of like Tyreek Hill or Deshaun Jackson or
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: something like that. Randy Moss, you know, gliders or really.
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: Fast early career in Kwan Bolden. People remember a late
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: career in Kwan Bolden who kind of turned into a
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: tight end and just like boxed out guys on like,
- 1:21:09Speaker 7: you know, shallow crossing routes. But earlier in his career
- 1:21:12Speaker 7: he had some explosives to his game, but he wasn't
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: necessarily a burner. Yeah, and he was great at body
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: position on deep balls.
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: Yeah. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of those
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: types of guys.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: I wonder if there's any way that there would be
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: a path to an extension for him. I wonder if
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: all this talk is probably he's here, he's going to
- 1:21:29Speaker 6: do what's asked of him, and then at the end
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: of the day, he's going to say, thank you very much.
- 1:21:33Speaker 6: I'm going to go somewhere where they're excited about me
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: and they're looking to, you know, give you a free agent.
- 1:21:37Speaker 7: If he has.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: If he's here at the end of the year, that
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: means he's done something, and then I would think that
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: the Patriots might consider extending him.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: I guess it depends on the number. But you have
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: Aj Brown at thirty, you have Romeo Dobbs at seventeen.
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: Totally depends on what.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: At twelve plus.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: But let's say Booty emerges as the number two receiver, Well.
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: Then you got to do something about one of the
- 1:21:59Speaker 7: other guys to get someone that's here's got to go right,
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: Probably yeah, and that's you know, if you can swing
- 1:22:05Speaker 7: a trade, you know, for Dobbs, then you know sometimes,
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: but that's right. I mean, I don't know.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: I think let's worry about this year first, David and Florida.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: Do we think that Drake just has natural struggles very
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: early in camp? For me, I was never really worried
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: with the first practice, the first couple having the offense
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: struggle a bit. Drake seems to do this every year,
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: then really pick it up as training camp moves along
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: and especially once we get into the season. Could those
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: early struggles just be a form of Drake shakes that
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: we saw in the first drives of games last season
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: and early on in the season.
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know if it's a camp thing.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: I just think it's more a Drake thing that when
- 1:22:44Speaker 6: he's not on, he's a little high and he's a
- 1:22:46Speaker 6: little and it sounds weird the seventy two completion percenters
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: last year, but it just looked like the little bit
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: of the mace sprays early on to me. I mean,
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: I think he was better today, but even you know
- 1:22:56Speaker 6: that one catch to Hunter Henry seemed a little high.
- 1:22:58Speaker 6: Hunter Henry ended up on the ground, and you know,
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: it's just he's It doesn't seem like he has been
- 1:23:03Speaker 6: locked in for everything just yet. But I don't know
- 1:23:04Speaker 6: if that's a camp thing or just kind of a
- 1:23:07Speaker 6: getting warmed up, streaky kind of thing.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Ben in California, what was going on with Saturdays Live
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: from Training Camp broadcast booth? And he's got broadcasting quotes.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I could go to Foxborough High and find a better
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: broadcast booth. This is the NFL, Fred, What are we
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: doing here? You pulled four tiny tables off the street
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: and covered them with black tablecloths that didn't fit where
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: all the Patriots logos at training camp? Did the table
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: budget get put on hold until the Gonzo deal is done?
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Come on, step it up. That said, it's nice to
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: see the excitement bill looking forward for another fantastic PU season.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: Those tables weren't light tables. They weren't light. No, they're
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: heavy tables. But yeah, I hear what he's saying. It's
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: not a professional looking set. But I mean the setup.
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: The location was great, location location.
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: I think the setup was much better. And everybody else's.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: From the table, they're talking about the look.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: The look I'm talking about the look, that's what exactly
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: what I'm talking about. I thought it was much better
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: than the tents upstairs, Like from the other stations. I think,
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: I look, I take a look. The look of it
- 1:24:15Speaker 6: didn't cross my mind. I was like, we're here, I mean,
- 1:24:17Speaker 6: look at the field we're talking. Who gives a crap
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: what table we're sitting there.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: I hear what he's saying, though, I hear, you know,
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: but we're only going to do this four times, so
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: we're not going to build a one hundred thousand dollars
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: set for you know.
- 1:24:30Speaker 7: We're worth it well until the contract gets done, and
- 1:24:33Speaker 7: then we'll have it in the bucket.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: Maybe maybe we'll sell some more to private equity.
- 1:24:37Speaker 11: And there you go.
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: Tables.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: What's Her Job? Live from the Toby House second episode
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: drop Sunday, so please subscribe, watch comment.
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: You gotta get a side tools.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: Clayton writes in I'm enjoying your house tour right now.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: But I noticed this photo and he's got the little
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: cartoon thing the guy in this photo that's supposed to
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: be you looks twice your age. You should have had
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Evan come over and cut your one point six acres.
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: Look you look like you have my hair.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Yeah, look it's white hair. That's all right. That's with that.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: I don't think that. I think I need a beginner lot.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: I can't start on Fred's, you know, state like I
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: need a I need a small patch of grass.
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: You couldn't handle my.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Smoke, don't disagree. I don't. I couldn't handle.
- 1:25:27Speaker 6: I got a mowing yesterday because we've got the rain coming.
- 1:25:29Speaker 6: Then I saw my neighbor and he's like, you might
- 1:25:31Speaker 6: if I mow my lawn the rains come. Like, I
- 1:25:32Speaker 6: already mode. Mine to go for it, buddy.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: So we're on. We're locked in. He had to ask
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: you if he could.
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: He was just a nice guy. He's like, he's like,
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: you gotta mind if I the moment, I'm like, no,
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: of course.
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: I was like, can I ask what time of day
- 1:25:43Speaker 7: this was?
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: It was like eleven at night, six thirty at night.
- 1:25:47Speaker 7: No, totally. I was like, no, he's just a nice
- 1:25:49Speaker 7: that's a bizarre question.
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: Great guy.
- 1:25:51Speaker 7: I mean o'clock in the morning.
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: Oh yeah, means well, that's what I barked back, and
- 1:25:55Speaker 6: very overly nice guy kind of joke at.
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: I mean, he's a salty dog.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: He's great guy.
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: I mean the most part of my launch is because
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: it's easier for him just to get to it. That's fine.
- 1:26:04Speaker 5: But yeah, I know, I got a good moment yesterday,
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: as you know, and then you walk it like it's.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: A good I just felt like the smell of the
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: fresh cut grass.
- 1:26:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I just have all this morning. I just stood
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: there and looked at it for a minute. You know,
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: so burnt out.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: I have no water.
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: I got some burnout spots.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: You don't put the sprinkle I don't have sprinklers. I
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: don't mean underground.
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: I mean just oh you need underground if you're going
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: to keep it green. Yeah, it's hard.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: I don't use underground.
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: Well, I mean we all know that you have just resources.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: That plane comes in and just drops about one part
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: of the lawn right in front of the house, and
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: I just keep the sprinkler going.
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: I've never water, mir you never want is it?
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: Is it gone?
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: Just crap?
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:26:45Speaker 6: Fine, I like to keep it green, right mine, it's
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: got like there's probably seven different types of grass in
- 1:26:50Speaker 6: my lawn, like.
- 1:26:51Speaker 7: Two weeds, you know, And I just right over him.
- 1:26:53Speaker 7: And and I had I had a service the last
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: couple of years. You know, it comes and treats it,
- 1:26:58Speaker 7: you know, and stuff like that, and it does help.
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: But like I had, you know, I was hosting big
- 1:27:04Speaker 7: graduation parties.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: So I was like traffic, not.
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: Doing anything this year. I think that's an expense I
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: can do without.
- 1:27:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: I'm gonna take off.
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: It's not looking good. I go down like sometimes when
- 1:27:19Speaker 7: I when I'm hold the lawn, I do a strip
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: and like I can't even tell if I did it
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: or not because it's so dead.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: You can't follow the line. You gotta find a line.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that problem.
- 1:27:34Speaker 7: He's so dismissed.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Can do better.
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: I'm not. With my resources, I can't do any better.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: It doesn't take any money. Just you buy like a
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: twenty dollars sprinkler, look it up to the hose and
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: water the grass.
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: But I can't get the like I shouldn't. I have
- 1:27:50Speaker 7: a lot of grass, Like I don't a.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Lot of grass. I like the ones that go like oh,
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: just back and forth.
- 1:27:56Speaker 7: Yeah, and you move it. Well, I can't move it
- 1:27:59Speaker 7: to the side of the house, to the back of
- 1:28:01Speaker 7: that land.
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: You only worry about the front.
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: Well, I worry about it all.
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Well, it sounds like you don't. No, I mean it
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: looks like Mars over there.
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: The front isn't as burnt out as the rest of
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: it is because the front doesn't get as much direct sun.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: So it's not especially the front left. It's actually decent
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: front right now right the water the front right. I
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: don't have time to water.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: To stand there. You just have a sprinkler on time.
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: Do you have any water bands in your town? I do, like,
- 1:28:29Speaker 7: I mean, I like, I would have to do it
- 1:28:31Speaker 7: like a very specific time. And beyond the water, I
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: don't get in trouble. There's there's a lot of crap
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: that goes on.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Some guy.
- 1:28:37Speaker 7: I don't want to yell. I certainly can't afford to
- 1:28:39Speaker 7: get fined.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: There's a drought going to the water there are.
- 1:28:45Speaker 7: There is a water again, like we're still.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: So when they allow you to do it water, you
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: get a little timer.
- 1:28:51Speaker 7: So again it's like it's like fifteen by a timer.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: It's like fifteen bus. You hook it up to the hose,
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: it's got a dial, and you said it.
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: I was supposed to get paid for my fill and
- 1:29:00Speaker 6: work last Friday, and I didn't get paid until today.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: Oh you got it, and you got me going out
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: buying timers and spending money on the.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: Water A lot of money. You go to Ace Hardware
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: and just buy a little time to my water bill.
- 1:29:10Speaker 7: How do you know it's not a lot of money
- 1:29:12Speaker 7: water bill?
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: You got a big water bill?
- 1:29:15Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: What's going on in Peabody?
- 1:29:16Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 1:29:17Speaker 6: I think it's everywhere I got mine, And even though
- 1:29:18Speaker 6: we were gone for like two days, it was still
- 1:29:21Speaker 6: sky high.
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: I don't know what's going on with.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: My water bill's extreme right now. But I have an
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: y ground sprinkler system, So I don't know.
- 1:29:27Speaker 7: That's the way to go.
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: Hashtagnify.
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: I don't think i've mid ever paid more than twenty
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: dollars for a water bill.
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: I'm sorry, what?
- 1:29:33Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 1:29:34Speaker 7: How often do you pay your water bill?
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Every day a year?
- 1:29:38Speaker 7: And you pay twenty dollars? It's like I pay like
- 1:29:40Speaker 7: four hundred bucks a quarter.
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like mine, it's like nothing, Yeah, yeah, mine's
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: four hundred quarter twenty dollars.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Do you have like well water, no town water, town water,
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: I have sounds like an episode. I have septic. I
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: don't have a town sewer.
- 1:29:57Speaker 7: So that's why you don't pay any money on wast.
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: Yet on the community.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Every couple of years you have it pumped.
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: Think about the cornerback depth chart a little bit.
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: He's actually he's actually been thinking about the Chiefs cornerback shot.
- 1:30:14Speaker 7: That's a flashback to a previous episode.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: All right, good stuff, I love, I love, I love
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: the house talk Connor McDermot.
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: That was awesome. It's really good.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: A little sprinkler do an episode about really good.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: Sprinkler talks spring middle of training camp.
- 1:30:33Speaker 7: Just from the guy who started off by saying, really
- 1:30:35Speaker 7: nothing has happened in the three today.
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: Today was the first day I actually I had fun.
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: Just texted me.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: It's normally thirty five dollars our water bill, but during
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: the sprinkler in summertime, it's two seventy five.
- 1:30:47Speaker 7: Oh and how often do you pay that?
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: I just give her the money she.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: Pays a bill.
- 1:30:55Speaker 7: Okay, this guy, I should do that with him. If
- 1:30:57Speaker 7: I just gave you my bills, where you pay it? Yeah,
- 1:31:01Speaker 7: give you the money. Now you can't handle that smoke.
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: Neither can I It sounds like when I got problems
- 1:31:10Speaker 7: for it.
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: When you're totally when the kids are totally citadels over
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: you guys should move into a condoor apartment. Then you
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: don't have to do anything.
- 1:31:18Speaker 10: No.
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: I actually enjoy kind of keeping up with the house
- 1:31:23Speaker 7: a little bit like I enjoy doing yard work, you know,
- 1:31:26Speaker 7: to an extent. I like cutting the grass. It's one
- 1:31:30Speaker 7: of the favorite things that I do. Like I just
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: put my headphones and my earbuds in and I kind
- 1:31:34Speaker 7: of enjoy it.
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: And it's nice and green. You'll enjoy it even more.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: That would be a monthly bill.
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: So okay, monthly. I don't pay monthly.
- 1:31:44Speaker 17: No, I'm quarterly real, all right, disrespectful to meet landing
- 1:31:53Speaker 17: rights in Sorry, I'm not.
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: I'm just tuning in. So if this was touched on,
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: I apologize. But a question for Evan. One of the
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: first things you ever said about Diggs was that he
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: looks like a true number one wide receiver, and he
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: looks like that guy when he's on the field. Do
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: you have that same thought when you look at Brown
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: out there?
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: They're so different it. Diggs was such a great runner
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: and Brown is like just like a physical specimen. So
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: I don't know if I've quite seen that just yet,
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: but I don't think. I think it's because this isn't
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: the setting for him to be showcasing how physically talented
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: he is. Yeah, right, like Diggs is just get open,
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: you know, like that that's when we're in these types
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: of practices, you're gonna see that. I just feel like
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: brown skill set hasn't.
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: It's a great point.
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: I totally he's not the setting for it.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:32:43Speaker 6: That was what was amazing about Diggs was just watching
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: the way he tempoed runs and he just had such
- 1:32:47Speaker 6: a unique stride and it was so hard to like,
- 1:32:50Speaker 6: where's he going? Like you couldn't stood out to me
- 1:32:53Speaker 6: in Minnesota and the joint practices and being on field
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: level just watching him, like he's just really really tough
- 1:32:58Speaker 6: to get a beat on.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: I do see with Brown, even though there's no live tackling,
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: when he makes the catch underneath and then kind of
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: like puts on the the burners afterwards, you do see
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: that juice and that burst still there and at that
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: size you're like, Okay, that's going to be tough to tackle.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: But again we're not tackling.
- 1:33:16Speaker 7: So I agree totally about their totally different receivers, you know,
- 1:33:20Speaker 7: in terms of the route running and just the size.
- 1:33:22Speaker 7: But I do see a number one, like when he
- 1:33:24Speaker 7: goes out there. If I didn't, if none of them
- 1:33:25Speaker 7: had uniforms on, I would say that's the one. That's
- 1:33:27Speaker 7: the number one. I think he carries himself like another one.
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's so cool.
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: He's just like yesterday at the podium.
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: I mean, and not that anyone cares about at the podium,
- 1:33:36Speaker 6: but like you can just tell the guy's dripping with confidence.
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: Knows he's a number one receiver.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: And no scheme talk with aj Brown, no scheme.
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: Santo is from Hawaii and he's got a PhD. So
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: we have to listen up. Indeed, looking at the teams
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: the Patriots will play this year, I came up with
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: the following chances of winning the Raiders Jets in Miami.
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: I think the Patriots have a seventy five percent of
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: winning those games.
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: I would not put the.
- 1:34:01Speaker 7: Raiders Jets Miami only seventy five percent.
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: That's what he says.
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: It seems low to me.
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: Steelers, Bills, Minnesota at the Jets and Jacksonville about a
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: sixty percent chance of winning. We think we are going
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: to be lose to the Jets, Green Bay and Denver
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: fifty percent chance, at the Bears, at Miami and at
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: the Charges, the probability of winning drops to forty percent,
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: and at Seattle, at the Bills, at Detroit, and at
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: Kansas City the probability of winning drops to twenty five percent.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: The average probability of winning for the season then translates
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: to forty nine point seven. That comes out to be
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: winning a little over eight games. The normative range then
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: would be between ten and six wins.
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: Wow, I gotta tell you, for me, that's too much math.
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: I mean a lot of math.
- 1:34:47Speaker 7: It's all out of math. But I would just you know,
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: I'm nitpicking here. I don't remember by road, but like,
- 1:34:53Speaker 7: they have a much better than forty percent chance to
- 1:34:55Speaker 7: win at Miami. Miami is going to be the worst
- 1:34:57Speaker 7: team in the least, they have a better than fifty
- 1:34:59Speaker 7: five shot of winning. At the Jets. The Jets I
- 1:35:02Speaker 7: think will be maybe spunky, and I wouldn't just pencil
- 1:35:06Speaker 7: both of those in for w's, but I expect them
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: to win both of those games. I'd be shocked if
- 1:35:10Speaker 7: they didn't win both of the Miami games, like flat
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: out stunned. Some of the other games I think you
- 1:35:17Speaker 7: can make an argument for, but like, it never works
- 1:35:20Speaker 7: out this way when when you get on the schedule,
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: and Fred and I disagree to an extent, but we
- 1:35:27Speaker 7: are kind of like minded on this. You know, in reality,
- 1:35:31Speaker 7: you can say, like, these eight games are going to
- 1:35:35Speaker 7: be tough games, you know, Seattle, the you know, Denver,
- 1:35:38Speaker 7: the Chargers or whoever, Like these are gonna be tough games.
- 1:35:42Speaker 7: But it never works out that you lose all of
- 1:35:44Speaker 7: the tough games. And I think people say, like, well, Detroit,
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: you know, Green Bay, Denver, you know, loss. No, you're
- 1:35:52Speaker 7: gonna win some of those and you're gonna lose some
- 1:35:54Speaker 7: of those. Those. To me, the individual game.
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: May not be fifty percent, but if you have eight
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: really hard games, you're probably going to win four and
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: lose four. You know, I don't think it generally works.
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: Out that you lose them all if you're a decent team,
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: right right.
- 1:36:07Speaker 7: And I used to you know, and I said the
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: same thing last year to the other extent, they had
- 1:36:12Speaker 7: like twelve or thirteen games on paper that seemed to
- 1:36:15Speaker 7: be easy.
- 1:36:16Speaker 6: This is before we knew how good they were, the
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: Patriots being they before you know how good Drake May
- 1:36:24Speaker 6: is going to be.
- 1:36:25Speaker 7: You sort of look at it and say, well, they
- 1:36:26Speaker 7: have like twelve thirteen really really games that they they
- 1:36:30Speaker 7: match up well in. Well, you probably win half of them,
- 1:36:34Speaker 7: you know, it was seven and six or six and
- 1:36:35Speaker 7: seven something like that. Now it turned out that they
- 1:36:37Speaker 7: won them all but two. They lost to Pittsburgh and
- 1:36:39Speaker 7: they lost to the Raiders. You know, so if they
- 1:36:42Speaker 7: had fourteen tough games, they went twelve and two one,
- 1:36:45Speaker 7: I mean easy games. They went twelve and two in
- 1:36:47Speaker 7: those games. Because the Patriots were a much better team
- 1:36:50Speaker 7: than I think any of us anticipated going into the season.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: Tough time with the math stuff, the schedule, liked stay
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: for a training camp.
- 1:36:59Speaker 7: Like you already said, you didn't really care for going
- 1:37:02Speaker 7: on a.
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: Long way to go before we start talking about permutations
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: of schedules.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: And Jeff in Canada, Deuce, do you have any thoughts
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: on the hideous uniforms the bills unveiled yesterday?
- 1:37:15Speaker 8: Man?
- 1:37:16Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, did you not like those?
- 1:37:18Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: I didn't like it? Nobody liked him. You liked him,
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: the gray I loved them.
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: Somebody else's team.
- 1:37:25Speaker 7: So I didn't like him as much as the color
- 1:37:30Speaker 7: rush for the Patriots, Like, I didn't hate them. I
- 1:37:34Speaker 7: love that gray. I love that.
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: And that's interesting. I didn't think you like great jerseys.
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: You didn't like the Patriots great jerseys?
- 1:37:39Speaker 7: Well, those were dirty? What do you mean they would?
- 1:37:42Speaker 7: They didn't looked like they were great. They looked like
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: they were dirty. They looked like the same shirt, like
- 1:37:46Speaker 7: the white shirts, only they needed to be washed. Like
- 1:37:49Speaker 7: the Detroit's got a great gray uniform too. Yeah, those
- 1:37:54Speaker 7: were uniforms. The only thing I would say critical of
- 1:37:57Speaker 7: the Bills is I thought they looked a little like
- 1:37:58Speaker 7: s m U College. You guys probably don't know that
- 1:38:01Speaker 7: even well I know that, but I mean I kind
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: of like those. Yeah, everybody everybody hated.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: It didn't look like the Bills. Fans liked them very much.
- 1:38:10Speaker 7: Everybody hated them because the Bill.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: The Bills.
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: Everyone hated them because you like that.
- 1:38:14Speaker 7: So I didn't know that.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: I wasn't.
- 1:38:17Speaker 7: I wasn't witnessing all of this.
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: I'm shocked because universally they were being Yeah, and.
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: I generally don't like all of those alternate uniforms, right,
- 1:38:26Speaker 6: But I think that these like what do they call him?
- 1:38:28Speaker 7: Rivalry? But I'm just talking about the ones start rival
- 1:38:33Speaker 7: but like the Rams had a rivalry, the Cardinals had one.
- 1:38:36Speaker 7: The Bills, I like them all and I generally do
- 1:38:39Speaker 7: not like any of the I hate I hate money grabs.
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: I hate like the red, yellow green.
- 1:38:45Speaker 7: I don't like either one.
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: Like the green.
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: I think they're better.
- 1:38:50Speaker 7: I don't like either one of them.
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: I like those ones. Yeah, I mean, what's what's what?
- 1:38:53Speaker 6: Teams though? Teams are just busting our uniforms now. It's
- 1:38:55Speaker 6: just like I got six, and I like, I'm just
- 1:38:58Speaker 6: going now, Like I just think it's some point. It
- 1:39:00Speaker 6: should just be if you ever wore the uniform in
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: your team's history, you can wear it. You know, there's
- 1:39:05Speaker 6: no like we need to apply for a new like
- 1:39:07Speaker 6: did you already wear this?
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: Yes? And I think the white top with the red pants,
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: that's look hideous.
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: Then somebody did a mock up of draking it and
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: I thought it looked chef's kiss because he looks great.
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: Then that's true, fair enough.
- 1:39:19Speaker 7: I do like the late seventies uniforms, but yeah, it's
- 1:39:22Speaker 7: a it's a.
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: Thing around sports. So like the Bruins have like six
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: jerseys and sweaters. Sorry, it was so hard.
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: I liked the big Bear, which the Sunday one, the
- 1:39:32Speaker 6: yellow shirt with a big bear.
- 1:39:34Speaker 7: Yeah, you don't like just awful. Oh, I think it's
- 1:39:36Speaker 7: cute and I like I like them, and I like
- 1:39:39Speaker 7: the Bruins uniforms and like the traditional uniforms. I like,
- 1:39:42Speaker 7: I think they have a good, good sharp uniform.
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: But yeah, the Red Sox have all their uniform combos.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: Well, it felt for a long time in the NFL
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: it was always I mean the helmet rule and all that,
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: but it just felt like you needed a whole production
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: to go. Now it's like we have two new uniforms
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: this year, like the Chargers are just like we had
- 1:39:59Speaker 6: twenty six uniform It was like, I don't know how another.
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: One as much as a request from the manufacturer at
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: the time, Like Nike needs time to create these things,
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: so you can't just like on a whim change in uniform.
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: You just won't have any in stock to sell.
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: The Titans ones. I kind of like to like going
- 1:40:15Speaker 6: flashing back a little bit, like no, I think that's
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: popular right now. Just something kind of simple. Actually I was,
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: I told you I was with Zoe in the elevator,
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: and he brought the bills uniforms of they're terrible.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: I mean he didn't like them either.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: They're contractually Mike had friend of the program plus D plus.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: We came in late to the walk through yesterday and
- 1:40:32Speaker 5: we're all sitting there and.
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: Like, hey, Mike, where are you been?
- 1:40:35Speaker 5: I had to write up a had to write up
- 1:40:36Speaker 5: a grade for the uniforms and the bills.
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: Plus.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: I wouldn't give it a D plus. I'd give it
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: a C.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: Well, he gave it a plus.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: I'm okay. Also, Jeff wants to know, could our defense
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: be elite this year, whatever that means in the modern NFL?
- 1:40:54Speaker 5: Yes, I think they could.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: You think it could be elite, Yes, I do.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Yeah, But I think their secondary could be elite. And
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: I think that you know, we'll see if they get
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: enough pass rush. But yeah, their secondary I think is
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: going to be really really good.
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: Get enough pass rush and uh, you know, and I
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: think Spain and Ellis and if somebody called about trading
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: for a linebacker, I don't think that's in the cards.
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: Maybe you're kind of ride or die with edge line Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: I could see that. But I think off the ball,
- 1:41:20Speaker 6: I think the rider die with with Ellis and Spain.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: I think those you know, hope those guys stay healthy,
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: but I think that they're gonna be the two guys
- 1:41:26Speaker 6: making it all work.
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: They have a handful of guys that are really important,
- 1:41:30Speaker 7: you know, Gonzales, Davis, uh Splaine, Williams. That's the backbone
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: of the defense, and they really need to keep those
- 1:41:39Speaker 7: guys helping.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: It's a good defense.
- 1:41:41Speaker 7: It's good defense, is yeah.
- 1:41:43Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: I mean, they were doing some stuff today where it's
- 1:41:45Speaker 5: just like a mean bar More, he's a beast.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: I mean, and they haven't even.
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: Really started to really mix it up yet. You know,
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: right now, they're just kind of playing their base install schemes.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Once they start to really mix it up and game
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: plan and all that stuff. It's a group. When you
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: have that kind of flexibility and like in talent in
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: the secondary, it just allows you to do so much upfront.
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: There there were there were two places I don't know
- 1:42:08Speaker 6: if you if you clocked it out, but they were
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: I was up with you. And there was one where
- 1:42:12Speaker 6: it literally looked like they dropped Marcus Jones out of
- 1:42:14Speaker 6: the slot back into like cover two. Then the very
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: then I think it was one of the plays that
- 1:42:18Speaker 6: they reloaded and had to go again.
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: Then they blitzed Marcus Jones.
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: So, you know, to me, it just shows how aggressive
- 1:42:25Speaker 6: they are and how they're willing to send guys from anywhere.
- 1:42:28Speaker 6: You know, I wonder what they're going to do with
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: Buyered and Woods and how they'll work all that. But
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: I think it's an aggressive scheme and it's got it's
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: got talent aggressive there.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: I think they're going to come after quarterbacks. I think
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: what we saw in the playoffs is going to be
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: a lot of what we see moving forward because they're
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: just going to trust those three corners to cover, and
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: especially with Bayered and in the middle of the field,
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: like they're just going to kind of trust those guys
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: to cover. And I think you're going to see a
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: lot of five six man pass rushes on third down
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: and they're going to try to paint by numbers this
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: pass rush. You know, it might not be you know,
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: four guys all the time. It's going to be guys
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: coming from multiple spots because they needed Mowen.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: Rhode Island writes in regarding AJ Brown and his usage,
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: do you think we'll use AJ Brown like late stage
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: Larry Fitzgerald. I know him moving to the slot helped
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: extend his career and keep his production high.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, I mean I haven't done a deep dive
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: on late career Larry Fitzgerald in a long time.
- 1:43:24Speaker 7: So I don't he did go to the slot.
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: I remember him going to the slot. I'm not sure
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: what routes he was running from the slot and things
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: like that, but I think that that's definitely part of
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: the plan, is to help aj Brown out, is to
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: move him around a little bit more than they did
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: in Philly. And I think one of the callers called
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: in early in the show about Gonzales, you know, participating
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: one of the things I've noticed a lot of and
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: I think this is pretty cool. But like when AJ
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: Brown leaves the huddle, Zero is following in whichever direction
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: he's going in, left, right, wherever. And I feel like,
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: you know, that's what they're going to have to try
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: to help AJ Brown with, is can we get him
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: away from the Christian Gonzalezes, you know, can we get
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: him inside? Can we get him you know, in different
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: spots that they can't just travel with him all over
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: the place.
- 1:44:06Speaker 7: Was it our show?
- 1:44:07Speaker 6: I forget somebody recently was talking about Randy Moss move
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: into the slot and running you know, Josh running him
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: out of the slot and getting him free that way.
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: I just think Josh McDaniel is a creative guy, and
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: he likes to move guys around, and he's gonna move
- 1:44:19Speaker 6: a j Brown around and try to do whatever he
- 1:44:21Speaker 6: can to get that guy.
- 1:44:22Speaker 5: Easy touches, especially because he's such a tough tackle.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: Let's see emails coming in. Uh, this is from Boston,
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: Benny Patriots Nation in Niagara, Canada. Okay, So that's like
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: the other side of the good side.
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: I'd never been to the good side.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: Let's see, can the Patriots carry six receivers while keeping
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: the O line numbers safe?
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean most teams these days are pushed six receivers.
- 1:44:54Speaker 7: Yeah, questions can carry right right right?
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: You know, Kyle Williams have to have to make it through.
- 1:45:01Speaker 7: And I don't think it ends like you might be
- 1:45:03Speaker 7: able to steal a spot somewhere because it's kind of
- 1:45:06Speaker 7: right right, skill positions, right, you know, like if you
- 1:45:09Speaker 7: go six and three as opposed to seven and two.
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: Especially with like you know, can you keep Henry and
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: Reard and Gilliam on the active roster and then Stash
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: and Urginner or Dupre on the practice squad, game day
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: elevations exist all that good stuff, Like just a way
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: to get everybody through the fifty three man cut down
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: and then kind of figure out who's on the game
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: day roster after that. I think carrying two tight ends
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: when you have a full back is definitely in play.
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: But I I've seen a lot of on the Twitter
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: of like Kyle Williams is definitely going to make the team.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: I don't know that he's definitely going to make the team.
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: I mean, it's too early to say he's not or
- 1:45:48Speaker 3: is or isn't. But I don't think that just because
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: he was a third round pick last year that that
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: guarantees him a roster spot like it does when you're
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: a rookie. But you're too I mean, like I said earlier,
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: I'd like if I was Kyle Williams, I'd be trying
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: to carve out a role on special teams, like I'd
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: be really gunner starting to think about those back into
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: the roster.
- 1:46:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it's fair. Is fair. I'd be stunned
- 1:46:10Speaker 7: if he doesn't make the team. But you're absolutely right
- 1:46:13Speaker 7: but it's not one hundred percent. No, it's not.
- 1:46:15Speaker 6: You know, that's why we like to call him what
- 1:46:17Speaker 6: Fred surprise cuns. That's right, because we don't expect them
- 1:46:20Speaker 6: to happen. Ark is an interesting one because we've been
- 1:46:22Speaker 6: talking about him a lot in the first few days.
- 1:46:24Speaker 6: But he's an undrafted guy, and you know, on paper,
- 1:46:26Speaker 6: teams might not really realize, but the Patriots could have
- 1:46:29Speaker 6: plans for him.
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: That would tempt you to be like, he's undrafted?
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: Could we get him through the stupid Patriots?
- 1:46:34Speaker 5: On filter? Guy talking about him too much?
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Shut up?
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: You know we need to slow the hype train on
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: that guy.
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: Maybe let's see Andrew and Maine writes in Uh, enjoyed
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: the live shows, but I couldn't help but notice with
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: Deuce losing his voice. Yeah, he sounded like a crossover
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: between Zoe and Brady. It kept tripping me up, thinking,
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: what the hell kind of crossover episode is this? Why
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: is Brady hanging out at practice? You're too happy to
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: hear gave a sigh, and Gonzo seems well on his
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: way to the extension. This team feels rock solid outside
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: of a very few positions. Lfgh. Did we mention that
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: we saw gay Bachus walk on the field for the
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: first time.
- 1:47:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I said, I said that, just you know.
- 1:47:14Speaker 6: I was like, he walked up the hill and I
- 1:47:15Speaker 6: don't know, I didn't have lost anticipating practice. He walked up,
- 1:47:18Speaker 6: he scanned the field and then he I don't know,
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: then he disappeared against Did I lost him?
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not sure where he went.
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: No, he was out there, he was watching. He saw
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: was Harold Landry.
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Yeah, both of those guys were looked like they did
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: their workout on the lower field and then came up
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: and tripled.
- 1:47:34Speaker 6: The worst guys for gay back is to be you know,
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: working his way back next to you than than Harold Landry,
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: somebody at his position was a captain last year. I
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: mean that's you know, a small benefit hopefully for him,
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: get him up to speed.
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: Let's see l from Wisconsin. Uh. This feels like the
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: first time in forever that we aren't worried about the
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: wide receiver room for this team. We don't know how
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: things will shake out yet, but the room feels really
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: good now. For the negative, why can't this team draft
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: a high round wide receiver. The team is in a
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: very lucky position that it's not coming back to bite
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: them right now. But still seeing nothing from Kyle Williams
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: is really disappointing. Well, he was a third rounder, so
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: would you consider that a high round?
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: I guess anything inside the top one hundred. But it's
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: not to your point, it's not like they drafted him
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: fifth overall and he's a bust. You know, it's the
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: gray area, I think, but top one hundred usually you
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: hope that those guys are NFL players, like they're going
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: to stick on your roster. It's contributed.
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: It's a fair point.
- 1:48:33Speaker 6: I don't feel surprised though, by how it's gone for
- 1:48:35Speaker 6: him early. I think I'd be more surprised if he
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: was out there and like Mac Collins or Tomrio Douglass
- 1:48:40Speaker 6: or those guys were suddenly not really in the mix
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: and Kyle Williams was.
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: I don't know how he gets in I really don't.
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: I mean, he's just he's gonna have to start finding
- 1:48:48Speaker 6: a way to get in there and making plays to
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: show what he can do because he has speed. I mean,
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: I think there's you know, he has a skill set
- 1:48:54Speaker 6: that I think that room could use, but we just
- 1:48:57Speaker 6: we haven't seen it on display yet. And how can
- 1:48:59Speaker 6: you put him in there and say what he can
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: do if he hasn't done anything?
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: Uh, Matt and Birmingham, UK. I love seeing Gilette Stadium
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: during the World Cup. He was here. Good. I'm glad
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: you were able to make that. Not long till the
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: Premier League is back and I can watch my belove
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: at Aston Villa on a Saturday and then the Patriots
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: on a Sunday. My perfect weekend. Quick question, what's your
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: quarterback room looking like? Obviously we have May at one,
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: but do we have any quality behind him if he
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: gets hurt? Oh you got Tommy Cutlets right, Yeah, looking
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: You got DeVito and Morton.
- 1:49:34Speaker 6: You're in trouble Tommy DeVito, no matter how much like
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: every other team that has a really good quarterback, there's
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: a big drop off between one and two.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: But it would be fun at least.
- 1:49:44Speaker 6: I think you know Tommy's if he does a character
- 1:49:46Speaker 6: But I just I like his decisiveness and it seems
- 1:49:48Speaker 6: like he gets in and he delivers the ball and
- 1:49:51Speaker 6: it's uh a little small.
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: I don't know it, just he looks a little small.
- 1:49:55Speaker 3: He's a little bailey zappy ish to me, but like
- 1:49:58Speaker 3: not in like as a backup quarterback.
- 1:49:59Speaker 7: That that's fine, like perfectly fine a backup.
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think his EMO is going to be,
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: you know, underneath stuff, you know, quick hands, like get
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: the ball out of his hand, quickly moving around. Yeah,
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: Like if he has to play, if you're expecting him
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: to make that throw that Drake made to Kishon Booty
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: in practice today, then that's not happening.
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: Ben in Long Island. Would you guys like to see
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: mac maccollins move to tight end. I read that he's
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: open to making the switch. What do you think he's gonna.
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: Bug me all summer? I just I don't know such
- 1:50:33Speaker 3: a semantics thing, Like I whether he plays wide receiver
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: tight end, his responsibilities are not going to change. So
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: we can sit here and put a tee next to
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: his name if people want to do that. But like
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: he's going to be blocking the same people that he's
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: blocking now. Unless we're talking about him being a traditional
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: like in line hand in the dirt tight end at
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: two hundred and twenty pounds, which I don't think is
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: going to go very well for him, then he's still
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: he's basically is already kind of a de facto tight end.
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: So I think we're getting it bogged down by a
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: semantics position thing that doesn't really matter.
- 1:51:11Speaker 7: There could be another avenue though, to keep more wide receivers,
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: like if you wanted to sort of say, well, we
- 1:51:17Speaker 7: have him as a wide receiver and we can keep
- 1:51:19Speaker 7: seven because he also can translate to some of the
- 1:51:22Speaker 7: tight end role that which is what he just last
- 1:51:24Speaker 7: last year, right.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: Like their eleven personnel last year was kind of like
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: a combination of eleven and twelve because Matt Collins can
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: do a lot of things that a tight end can do.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: So if he's gonna, you know, Paul, dig out the
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: nickel or block the wide nine, yep, but he has
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: wr next to his name, but we switch it to
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: te Are we really changing anything or are we just
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: like having fun with the depth charge?
- 1:51:47Speaker 6: But yes, the answer to the short answer to this
- 1:51:49Speaker 6: question is yeah, I think that he can do tight
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: end responsibilities.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: And Claire wits in Hello everyone, Hello Mariene, Hello, Huge
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: congrats to Marine for his ongoing music releases epic you've
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: been you've been dropping stuff?
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: Yeah last week last Friday, and the new one came
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: out Pressure Bills Diamonds.
- 1:52:07Speaker 7: Wow, you noticed the fourth one mic.
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: Now the mic works, Yeah, Mike works is the start
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: of the show Pressure Bill's Diamonds.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: It's pretty good motivational if you if.
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: You wouldn't, don't say so yourself. Yeah maybe maybe, you know,
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: at some point, play a little track.
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: Maybe it's not suitable for air.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: Not suitable, a lot of a lot of swearing.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Yeah he's eminem Yeah, okay, all right, that that's your
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: that's your inspo.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: Don't you have like an under seventeen version.
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: I have an edited version of one of the songs
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: I can maybe we'll play that, okay at some.
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: Point, Yeah, my mom's going to make me, you know,
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: on iTunes. Out has like the clean and the explicit version.
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: I used to have to buy the clean versions. Yeah yeah,
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: no no f bombs.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: And uh, she says, now I'm torn. Torn. Deuce has
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: a point I want to hear about Arkin, but also
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: hush hush to keep him from being napped.
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: I mean it's like he's not popping, like he's gronk
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: or anything. I'm just saying like they might have a
- 1:53:05Speaker 5: use for him. That would be like, eh, we could
- 1:53:07Speaker 5: probably risk to lose.
- 1:53:09Speaker 7: Him, but do we want to? And I would say
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: over the years, these conversations about can we get so
- 1:53:15Speaker 7: and so through to the practice squad is about ninety
- 1:53:18Speaker 7: five plus percent. Yes, Like there's no guarantees. Guys get claimed.
- 1:53:24Speaker 10: They do.
- 1:53:24Speaker 7: It happens every once in a while. Ninety five plus
- 1:53:27Speaker 7: percent of the guys that you think that way get
- 1:53:30Speaker 7: through because teams want to use their own players, right, Yeah.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: They have a Tanner Arkin in their camp that they've
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: been working with for the last six weeks that does
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: exactly the same things that Tanner Arkin does. So why
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: would they take Tanner Arkin over the guy they've been
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: working with this whole time?
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: Z Odd guy's better.
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: Maybe he's a good bust to name two Achen. You know,
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: I like this kid A and last.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: Year they're like the number seven standing out to me.
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: There's like there's less than ten waiver claims out feel
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: last year, and I.
- 1:53:58Speaker 7: Would also look at look closer at the waiver claims
- 1:54:01Speaker 7: and see exactly who they are. Sometimes they're not like
- 1:54:06Speaker 7: rookie undrafted free agents. Sometimes they're like second and third
- 1:54:09Speaker 7: year guys that get released and they get claimed. You know,
- 1:54:12Speaker 7: like what was the year that the Patriots signed all
- 1:54:14Speaker 7: the claimed all those linemen like Vadarian Loewis, he was
- 1:54:19Speaker 7: in the league, you know. And the other guy from Minnesota.
- 1:54:23Speaker 7: His name is escaping me Tyler something. Maybe I forget.
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna wrap things up before we go.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Just to reminder, Thursday we're live, weather permitting. If it
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: is torrential downpour and it prohibits what they can do
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: in practice and they move inside, we won't have a show.
