- 2:39our interns, Manny, Kendall, Benton, all the guys that have

- 2:51the scenes and even on our show. So I'd like to thank Manny,
- 2:55Benton, Kendall and all the other guys.
- 2:57I, I'm very bad, Spencer, all the guys that have worked on our

- 3:04want to apologize. Thank you to all the guys that
- 3:07have put the time and effort into it and, and hopefully they
- 3:09can stay on and help us out in the near future.
- 3:12I know they have a lot of other opportunities, but thank you
- 3:15very much to all the interns that have worked on and, and the
- 3:18new interns that will be joining us in the very near future.
- 3:22Jabba, what's up, man? Not a thing, not a thing.
- 3:26Just enjoying week. We got up to 82 today, so got a
- 3:29nice little workout in, got a nice little run and just kind of
- 3:34roam the neighborhood and it was kind of nice.
- 3:37Though you run or jog? Or do you walk?
- 3:39Speed walk. No, no, I jog.
- 3:42Like the days of running are over for me.
- 3:44I don't need to do that. I just, I just do it for fun and
- 3:48I actually I'd like, I like running.
- 3:50I mean it's like 2 miles. It's nothing, nothing crazy, but
- 3:54it's just I've I've always liked running because I used to be
- 3:57super, super fat and then I just really got into running and it
- 4:01just they say you when you talk about a runner side it it's real
- 4:04and then you just keep going so. I, I, I do, I do a lot of speed
- 4:08walking and today whenever I do my phone calls.
- 4:12So after I get a chance to come home, I make my phone calls and
- 4:15my landlord's outside. I live in a cul-de-sac.
- 4:18And every single time he tells me, This is why you need to have
- 4:21a, a house phone downstairs. And I'm like, I don't want to be
- 4:24downstairs. I don't want to sweat
- 4:25downstairs. I, I have a big, huge place
- 4:28downstairs in the whole house and I just, I want to be
- 4:31outside. I want to smell the fresh air.
- 4:33I want to hear the birds chirping, the insects making
- 4:37different sounds and, and the craziness of the kids running
- 4:41around all over the cul-de-sac. So I actually enjoy it.
- 4:45And obviously my landlord just is intrigued on how much I walk
- 4:49in a circle. I, it's like it's weird.
- 4:51That is my my cardio throughout the week is me be on the phone
- 4:55when I'm in the gym, I'm doing lifting and all the other stuff
- 4:58that I do, but I enjoy just speaking on the phone and
- 5:01interacting with all my friends and family that call me up
- 5:05before the show. So.
- 5:07Thank you. They do.
- 5:08They do say that like the I was reading an article, I think it's
- 5:11Google like during their press conferences.
- 5:14They have treadmills in there. I'm sure because they say as
- 5:17you're like moving, you think better.
- 5:19It's probably true, but I've noticed too, like I'll go for
- 5:22walks and next thing you know, it's like you're just catching
- 5:25up with a buddy or like just you got to make a phone call and
- 5:28you're like, oh, next thing you know, it's like 45 minutes later
- 5:31you're like, dude. That's cool.
- 5:32I'm on the phone sometimes for an hour, hour and a half, just
- 5:35interacting with people. And then I have four people
- 5:38speaking. I have my friends on the call
- 5:40and everybody goes back and forth.
- 5:41It's craziness. It's havoc in my life, but I
- 5:44actually enjoy it and, and just getting a chance to speak to
- 5:47some of my friends who will live all, you know, all parts of the
- 5:50country and, and it's just really, really cool.
- 5:53And then some of my friends live in other countries.
- 5:55So it's cool when they get on the phone and we can interact
- 5:58with one another. And even my sister, I was
- 5:59yelling at her today about a bunch of stuff.
- 6:02So I got the experience of people listening to me scream at
- 6:06my sister on the phone. So thank you again to our
- 6:09interns. They're fantastic.
- 6:10The New York Knicks came back once again from a 20 point
- 6:14deficit in each of the first two games versus the Celtics, the
- 6:19first time since 1996 where a team has done that in both
- 6:24regular season and playoff games.
- 6:26In game one, the Knicks were down 20 points in the third
- 6:30quarter and then went on a 31 to 11 run to tie the game and force
- 6:36in overtime and game #2 The Celtics had a 20 point lead in
- 6:41the third quarter and a 16 point lead almost halfway through the
- 6:46fourth quarter. And then they didn't hit a
- 6:48basket for 8 minutes after going scoreless for 3/4.
- 6:53Mikkel Bridges had a 14 points in the fourth quarter and the
- 6:57game-winning block against yes you know it, Mr. Choke setter
- 7:01himself Jason Tatum. Karl Anthony Towns also scored
- 7:0521 points and Josh Hart led the team with 23 points as the
- 7:11comeback. Kids are back, ladies and
- 7:13gentlemen. The Celtics have missed 75 three
- 7:16pointers in just two games, the most in NBA history.
- 7:20Rd. Teams that take a two to nothing
- 7:24series lead have won the series 85.7% of all time, ladies and
- 7:32gentlemen. I mean seriously, if you're a
- 7:33Knick fan you should be so excited because we haven't seen
- 7:37this in a very long time. It goes back, I believe in 99
- 7:42it. Does anybody remember?
- 7:44And that was the Eastern Conference finals, when we
- 7:46remember Grandma Ma, yes. And all the players, yes.
- 7:51And Luttrell Sprewell and even the end of Patrick Ewing's era,
- 7:56because after that he went to the SuperSonics.
- 7:59That team went on an Immaculate, you know, unbelievable Ron and
- 8:05and this team kind of resembles that now.
- 8:08This is a better team. They have more talent.
- 8:10You have OG and Anobi who's really become Kawhi Leonard
- 8:13esque. He's become that kind of player.
- 8:15And then you got Karl Anthony Towns, the size and the ability
- 8:19that he has on the offensive boards.
- 8:21And and then you have a guy like Jalen Bronson and we we've never
- 8:25seen a point guard this good since really I walk.
- 8:29Clive Frazier was the last point guard you can remember, or maybe
- 8:32Bernard King if you want to go back of those times, the Knicks.
- 8:37And then you have Michael Bridges, and I'll get into
- 8:39Michael Bridges in just one second.
- 8:41This is a team that has a tremendous amount of depth and
- 8:44defensive prowess and their wings with Josh Hart and Mikhail
- 8:48Bridges and OG and Anobi, they've given the Knicks the
- 8:51depth that they've needed over the years at the wing positions
- 8:55defensively against these sharp shooting teams like the Boston
- 8:59Celtics. And I said this before the
- 9:02series started. Porzingis is going to play a big
- 9:04part if the Knicks are going to win this series that I got.
- 9:08They got to keep Porzingis under 20.
- 9:10Well, ladies and gentlemen, yesterday they kept Porzingis to
- 9:1414 minutes and seven points. Porzingis is not healthy.
- 9:18This has been a huge problem for the Boston Celtics keeping
- 9:21Porzingis healthy and we've always known that as we all know
- 9:25Porzingis as a player. The quote on quote, as Kevin
- 9:29Durant says, the Unicorn has not stayed healthy really since he's
- 9:34come to the league with his knee problems, his stupidity off the
- 9:37court, jumping off of ships. This has been a guy that has had
- 9:41problems staying healthy. But you go back and you look at
- 9:45what the Knicks are doing right now to the Boston Celtics, it
- 9:48says a lot about the heart of this team.
- 9:51They've got a tremendous amount of heart When you go down 20
- 9:54points and you're trying to fish your way back in a game and you
- 9:58watch the the expressions of the team on the sidelines.
- 10:02They they didn't quit. There was no quit in the New
- 10:05York Knicks faces when Thibodeau's calling the timeouts
- 10:08and you would think teams are going go at each other and
- 10:11calling each other names or saying whatever.
- 10:13I've seen fights on the sidelines when teams go back
- 10:16over the years in in series and you're yelling at each other
- 10:19across the the sidelines. It it's been tremendous watching
- 10:23this team really work together. Josh Hart being a leader, A-Team
- 10:27leader, Josh Hart's on the sidelines talking to the team
- 10:30saying that we're not out of it we're not out of it.
- 10:32We can come back and it's been unbelievable.
- 10:35And for all those haters on social media taking shots at
- 10:40McHale bridges that the Knicks gave up five first round draft
- 10:43picks for McHale bridges. It was a big mistake.
- 10:46What are you guys saying now? What are all you Knick fans
- 10:49saying now about McHale bridges? You know what the answer is
- 10:53nothing. You know why?
- 10:54Because if, and it wasn't from the Carol Bridges in this
- 10:57series, as good as Brunson is, as good as Karl Anthony Towns is
- 11:01and Ogianobee and Josh Hart's been, this is the guy that's
- 11:05taking over in games in the fourth quarter and the overtime.
- 11:09He made the important block against Jayson Tatum at the end
- 11:12of the game, up 9190 as Jaylen Brunson score and shot his two
- 11:16free throws. He has been as important as any
- 11:19player in this series. And you look at guys like Leon
- 11:22Rose and Worldwide West and you say, wow, no, these guys
- 11:26actually know what they're doing.
- 11:27The Knicks actually have executives that actually know
- 11:32what they're doing. And we don't hear any more about
- 11:35James Dolan ruining A-Team and throwing A-Team away as the New
- 11:39York Knicks for years have been doing that.
- 11:42And no Charles Oakley stuff and no sideline crap.
- 11:45No, you guys are getting the chance to see Patrick Ewing on
- 11:48the sidelines. You get to see Reggie Miller
- 11:50come out and say that he would love to see the Knicks get
- 11:53through this round. So maybe they meet the Pacers
- 11:55and we can see that old Knicks, Pacers type of Eastern
- 11:58Conference championship. This has been unbelievable.
- 12:02And you Knick fans sitting here today should be nothing but
- 12:05excited. Nothing but excited because this
- 12:08team actually believes. And when you see this usually
- 12:12means that these are the teams that have the ability to go all
- 12:17the way. Now, again, we have to see what
- 12:19they're doing. And I forgot one person that I
- 12:21got to give a lot of credit to, and that's Mitchell Robertson
- 12:25for all those people. And I was.
- 12:27Other than that, free. Other than that, free throw.
- 12:29That was rough. Well, you can't.
- 12:30Spark, they need a job. He can't shoot free throws, The
- 12:33guy can't shoot free throws. He's just not very good at it.
- 12:36But what he does so very well is he is an anchor of a defense.
- 12:41He is as important as any defensive player on this roster.
- 12:45And there's so much to see that you miss of Mitchell Robertson
- 12:49all season long. The Knicks have not been 100%
- 12:51all season long. We haven't seen Mitch and Karl
- 12:54Anthony Towns and Josh Hart and the Carol Bridges and OG Ananobi
- 12:57and Jayla Brunson play together as much as they've played in
- 13:00these series and Detroit series. I mean, there were some
- 13:03questions in game #2 and game #5 the Knicks choked the way they
- 13:08did. But nevertheless, what the
- 13:10Knicks showed was heart. And what the Knicks are showing
- 13:13right now is they believe. And when you believe like they
- 13:17are. And by the way, a plus, if I'm
- 13:20not mistaken, I think Fish told me a + 32 right now for a guy
- 13:25like Robinson who's been unbelievable defensively for the
- 13:28New York Knicks, I think he's got his feet under him now.
- 13:31I think that this defense is the best we've seen it all season.
- 13:35When you guys have and when they yet when you look at the Knicks
- 13:37and you see what they have and Josh Hart is a wing player,
- 13:40McHale Bridges, and then you have OG and Anobi and Mitchell
- 13:43Robertson and you can play him with Bronson and you could fit
- 13:46him with different other players in a rotation.
- 13:49You have to see what a defense can do when it comes to win
- 13:52championships, and the Knicks are a championship contending
- 13:56team. Sit here and argue it all you
- 13:58want, all you Boston fans that thought this was going to be an
- 14:01easy run to the Finals. It's not.
- 14:04It's not going to be easy, and the Knicks are not going to make
- 14:07it easy. They're going to Madison Square
- 14:08Garden at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon and the Knicks fans
- 14:12are going to be screaming and crying, 19,000 fans saying.
- 14:19Oh, and, and me and they'll say other things too.
- 14:23I'm just not going to say it on live radio.
- 14:25But this is a Knick team that you have a reason to cheer for.
- 14:30And I sit here today and I'm one of those guys.
- 14:33I have not held back. I had the Knicks winning at 7
- 14:36and I'm going to stick by it. They're going to win at 7.
- 14:38I think Boston is going to claw themselves back into the series.
- 14:42But I think the Knicks are that type of team that no matter what
- 14:46Boston does in the series and what Boston team shows up in
- 14:50game three and game four, I think they have the edge.
- 14:54I think they have. They have the control that they
- 14:57have played defensively and offensively to get in the minds
- 15:01of Jaylen, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and understand that
- 15:05Porzingis isn't 100% healthy and they're going to drive it down
- 15:09the one and only Celtics throats until they choke and they give
- 15:13up. Yep.
- 15:14And you also look at the trade that they made in the offseason
- 15:17and with Mikhail Bridges and then trading last year for
- 15:20Rorgiano Nobi, they kind of built this team to be able to
- 15:22defend the Celtics because the Celtics are built on these wing
- 15:25shooters that could do a lot of different things and create 3
- 15:28point shots, create even inside shots normally.
- 15:31But the problem is Mitchell Robinson's defensive presence
- 15:34has just shy them away from just going inside the role.
- 15:37Really outside of Porzingis in the limited bit, he did play in
- 15:40game three because he was limited in the first half, then
- 15:42he started to take over more in the second-half.
- 15:43They have no inside game. And Jason Tatum, I've never seen
- 15:47him that flustered in a long time really since maybe the
- 15:49Miami series in the bubble. Like the Knicks are doing a
- 15:52great job on him, changing it up on him where they're not making
- 15:55it easy for him. And when Tatum is off, it really
- 15:59has hit the rest of his offense. Derek White played well, fine.
- 16:01Jalen Brown did better than he did game one, fine.
- 16:03But the Knicks team defense, this is the team defense you're
- 16:06looking for when you have build up all these wings, when you
- 16:09hire Tom Thibodeau as your head coach, a defensive minded, old
- 16:12school fiery coach, this is the defense you want to see play,
- 16:16not the defense you saw at certain points against the
- 16:17Pistons letting these old men shoot threes.
- 16:20You're not seeing that in the series.
- 16:21You're getting the intensities there.
- 16:22And the Celtics are never thought of that way as a talent
- 16:25driven team relying on it. And it seems like they're doing
- 16:27that in this series. And you would think the Celtics,
- 16:30they would learn from game one when they were doing that,
- 16:32chucking up these threes and missing.
- 16:33And the Knicks were sticking their game plans, not fouling,
- 16:35not putting them up the free throw line to get extra stuff
- 16:38there. And that's where you got to give
- 16:39Tom Thibodeau a little bit of credit, but it's mostly on the
- 16:41players. Leg and Missoula has been
- 16:43absolutely huge. No, he has been.
- 16:45Did anybody watch the press conference after the game?
- 16:48Did anybody hear what Missoula said after the game?
- 16:51He has no answers to anything. And he says, listen, this is the
- 16:55way basketball is played. Sometimes you you go on the
- 16:58rolls and and you're it's on your side or it goes from you
- 17:01know, it goes on the other side and he says we fell on the other
- 17:04side. Do we think this series is over?
- 17:06No. And then you hear Jason Tatum
- 17:07today at the press conference, you know, speak highly of
- 17:11himself, as we expect superstars like to do.
- 17:14Ladies and gentlemen, give themselves a little pat on the
- 17:16back. Jason Tatums has to figure out
- 17:18how to play basketball because if he doesn't, his team could
- 17:21lose four games. They could lose and sweep, be
- 17:24swept by the New York Knicks. And where is Charles Barkley?
- 17:28Why isn't Charles Barkley coming out and saying, you know what?
- 17:31I was wrong, I was wrong. Everybody thinks that guy is
- 17:34funny. I think he's an idiot.
- 17:35He's a Jackass. That's what I think Charles
- 17:38Barkley is. He's a hater.
- 17:40And right now he's got nothing to say.
- 17:42There's nothing to say about the New York Knicks besides go New
- 17:46York, go New York, go, because that's all you Knick fan should
- 17:50be doing right now. You should be very, very
- 17:52excited. And Jabba, I know, I'm not sure
- 17:55if you're a Knick fan right now, but you might sway that way.
- 17:58You did beat, you were a Yankee and you did sway to the New York
- 18:01Knicks when you were here. What are your thoughts to the
- 18:04one and only New York Knicks? The way they've won the two
- 18:07games, it never felt like, like you can always see body language
- 18:11and read body language it their body language never made it feel
- 18:15like they were out of it. And I think that goes a long way
- 18:18just in believing in yourselves and your ability.
- 18:21And the other one was just how there were certain guys at
- 18:24certain times of the game that stepped up when they needed
- 18:27somebody to step up, whether it's on the defensive end or
- 18:29they were scoring points. You see it from McHale Bridges,
- 18:32you know, not score for 3/4, then go out and give you 14.
- 18:34I think the balance that they have and and that's where you
- 18:37kind of got to give the worst haircut of a head coach ever and
- 18:41Tibbs and and just shave it off. If they win, can we make a bet
- 18:44like and be like, can he just shave his head?
- 18:46That thing is horrendous. Maybe there is some kind of bet.
- 18:49Maybe there's something lying over there in that locker.
- 18:51It's definitely Josh Hart definitely has to be involved
- 18:53with that bet, by the way. 100% yeah.
- 18:56So 100% their coaches come into American whiskey.
- 18:58So I'll throw the I'll throw it in there here.
- 19:00But I just like the balance that they've had when they picked
- 19:03each other up, whether it was defensively or offensively and
- 19:07just kind of the way they knew and they know their roles when
- 19:09it comes into it. I think that really is the
- 19:11important part. And he's he's out coaching
- 19:13Missoula with with one eye open. And I wanted to touch on this
- 19:18too, because it has to do with it.
- 19:19Do you think Paul Pierce really walked that whole way?
- 19:22No, no, I think he did some. I think I think what's going on
- 19:27right now is Tips has figured out how to maneuver Mitchell
- 19:31Robertson in that defense and in the structure in the fourth
- 19:34quarter where he can rotate Mitchell Robertson in the times
- 19:38that he needs the defensive prowess that he can give to Carl
- 19:41Anthony Towns, who doesn't play any defense at all.
- 19:44Right. And he played 22 minutes and Cat
- 19:46played 34. Yeah.
- 19:48So the balance, that's why I said the balance is there when
- 19:51you need to give him a blower. You need that stop and you need
- 19:54that presence. I I think it's he's just done a
- 19:57great job. And, and you see how all the
- 19:59guys have stepped up in, in certain aspects of the game and
- 20:03certain timing of the game. And I just felt like, yeah,
- 20:06you're like, oh, you know, a bunch of like, did you watch the
- 20:09game? And I was like, yeah, but it
- 20:11kind of sucked too, because at times you kind of disengaged
- 20:14with the game because they were down 20 plus.
- 20:16And you're like, all right, we'll just keep it on.
- 20:19And it wasn't like. Another game we're going to
- 20:21touch on where they just looked disinterested.
- 20:23It was just, you know, the ball wasn't dropping and they weren't
- 20:25doing certain things, but you know, they didn't give up and
- 20:27you've seen what happened and just crazy how in a division and
- 20:31the conference that all Rd. teams won game one, which has
- 20:34never happened before. Yeah, and also also all the with
- 20:37the Knicks, you look at like doing it twice in a row, like
- 20:40that kind of confidence level. I know it's still there for
- 20:42these players, but all that kind of statistical anomaly is still
- 20:46very hard to believe that the Knicks would be able to do it
- 20:48twice. They held the Celtics scoreless
- 20:51without a basket, only free throws for 8 minutes straight,
- 20:54which that that was something we talked about in college
- 20:56basketball a couple times. You rarely ever see that in the
- 20:58NBA. That's unheard of.
- 21:00And Jabba, to your point, Mitchell Robinson's defensive
- 21:03presence, I think made the Celtics scared like they never
- 21:05tried to. Have nothing to do with scared.
- 21:07Stop with the Celtics aren't scared of the Knicks.
- 21:10What's going on right now is the Knicks have their their games,
- 21:13they're playing team basketball. They haven't had a chance to
- 21:16play with one another all season long.
- 21:19Mitchell Robinson's finally getting his feet under him.
- 21:21And now you're seeing how important Mitch Robertson is to
- 21:25the New York Knicks. That's why the Knicks didn't
- 21:27trade him this offseason, ladies and gentlemen.
- 21:30That's why the Knicks didn't trade him at the trade deadline
- 21:33when the the Lakers were interested in bringing a big
- 21:35man. We all know the story.
- 21:37We all know the Lakers were out and trying to draw the New York
- 21:41Knicks to trade Mitchell Robertson over there to them.
- 21:44And maybe that would have helped the Lakers.
- 21:45Mitch is that is is important as OG, Ananobi, McHale, Bridges,
- 21:50and any one of those defensive players, including Josh Hart, he
- 21:53is the anchor to that defense. And when you got that kind of
- 21:57player and you use them in the right motion when it comes to
- 22:01defense, they're a different team.
- 22:03They are absolutely different team.
- 22:05And yes, you should be excited about the Knicks.
- 22:08We haven't seen a defense like this with the New York Knicks
- 22:10since the 90s, since the 90s when we saw Anthony Mason and
- 22:15Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing and all those play Xavier
- 22:19McDaniel and all those guys that played that kind of defense.
- 22:23Hard nose press defense. Charlie Ward, remember him?
- 22:27I mean, this was a defense. Even Charles Smith who couldn't
- 22:30hit a layup if your ass depended on it, he actually played some
- 22:34defense. This that New York Knick team,
- 22:36the Pat Riley, Jeff Van Gundy, New York team, it.
- 22:40They haven't been like that with the guys like Carmelo Anthony
- 22:44and Amari Stottlemeyer. That wasn't a defense.
- 22:47Even though Woodson was a great defensive line, they weren't a
- 22:50good defensive team. Carmelo Anthony was subpar at
- 22:54best defensively. He was old.
- 22:56Yeah, but I think this is a young team and this team is
- 22:59going to be good for many, many years.
- 23:00But this is their time, ladies and gentlemen.
- 23:03If there's a time for them to sneak into the Finals and maybe
- 23:07surprise the world, it's right now.
- 23:09Because the Cavs don't know what their identity is right now and
- 23:13they're losing 2O against the Pacers.
- 23:15The Pacers, as good as they are with depth and they have
- 23:18Halliburton, I don't know if the Pacers have enough to beat the
- 23:21Knicks if they get through the Celtics and right now in the
- 23:24Western Conference, Come on, we we Golden State's old, they're
- 23:28an old team. And you'll look at the other
- 23:30teams that are in this in in the Western Conference.
- 23:33The Nuggets, they're up and down.
- 23:35OK, see they they've made some mistakes, even though they have
- 23:38tremendous amount of talent. And then we all know the other
- 23:41team over there. It it just I don't know if the
- 23:45Western Conference is as good as it's been over the years.
- 23:48I think if the whoever wins this series, if it's the Knicks and
- 23:52the Celtics can win the whole thing, That's the crazy thing.
- 23:56The only team that probably can commit to competing with them
- 24:00right now is OK C maybe the Nuggets and I just, I don't
- 24:05know, the Knicks have completely beaten the hell out of the
- 24:08Nuggets all season long. I know it's the regular season,
- 24:11but and as we've said this many, many times, and Fish would know
- 24:14this and let's get Fish in here. I'm going to tell you this right
- 24:17now. I look at the Knicks right now
- 24:19and if they beat the Celtics in this series, it's a shoo in that
- 24:23they're going to the Finals. You heard it from me, they beat
- 24:27the Celtics. It is a shoo in a shoo in to the
- 24:31finals does the. Momentum carry over, do you
- 24:34think 100% like if they obviously like getting these two
- 24:37wins are huge. I don't think it's going to be a
- 24:39sweep, but you start gelling together, We've seen teams win
- 24:43and you're like, they didn't stand a chance and then all of a
- 24:45sudden they got hot. And I think that could be
- 24:47something that really like as they come and gel together and
- 24:51balance their life, I think. And obviously it's shown in the
- 24:54first two games. I am not scared of the other two
- 24:58teams in the Eastern Conference. I, the Cavs, the Knicks beat two
- 25:02years in a row leading into this third would be the third year if
- 25:05they face them, if they come back against Indiana and I won
- 25:08another shot at Indiana because the Knicks almost beat them with
- 25:11no one left healthy on the roster.
- 25:13If you remember game seven in that series, or was it, I don't
- 25:15remember who was six or seven, he was 7.
- 25:17OG got hurt then. OG Josh Hart played through what
- 25:22looked like an AB strain in that game and was like a shell of
- 25:25himself and Jalen Brunson broke his hand and they still almost
- 25:31beat them. And I'm not afraid of those
- 25:34guys. So here's the deal.
- 25:36If they win this next game, Game 3, and go up three O, that's
- 25:40going to be really hard for Boston to deal with.
- 25:43And we haven't even talked about the injuries.
- 25:45Jaylen Brown is not healthy. He's not he's not able to do it
- 25:49all game. You saw early in the game he was
- 25:51unstoppable. Where was that the rest of the
- 25:54way? That guy used to do that all
- 25:57game. He can't do that right now.
- 26:00Derek White doesn't scare me right now.
- 26:02He just looks like a guy out there and not one of the alleged
- 26:05best defensive guards in the league.
- 26:08And Porzingis they are, only they're throwing him out there
- 26:12less than Tips throws out Mitch. They're not going to win that
- 26:16way, not with Al Horford getting cooked every possession that
- 26:19he's out there because he's my age.
- 26:22And they lost another one, actually, yeah, another one hurt
- 26:24too. Well, the bench Hauser.
- 26:25I think he's older than you actually.
- 26:28I remember when he, I remember when he was in college with Noah
- 26:31winning the championship is the Twin Towers in Florida when I
- 26:34was in college. With Nick's legend joking now.
- 26:36In my life ago and Billy Donovan, the Chicago Bulls
- 26:39coach. Back-to-back.
- 26:40Long Islander baby, give it to the Long Island guys.
- 26:46I don't take pride in every long I look.
- 26:47I like Tobias Harris. First of all.
- 26:50Tobias Harris is the biggest ass you'll ever meet.
- 26:53I actually met Tobias Harris at a club I was DJ ING at.
- 26:56Everybody was like Tobias Harris.
- 26:57This is before he was drafted. He's going to be an NBA first
- 27:00round pick. I could give a crap the way he
- 27:02was treating women and the way he was acting.
- 27:04I couldn't stand him. When I met him, I looked up, I
- 27:07was like what an ass. He walked around like he was
- 27:09Michael Jordan. OK, Tobias Harris has had a long
- 27:12career. He's made a lot of money.
- 27:13I can't stand the SOB, so that's OK.
- 27:16Sorry to cut you off there, Fish, but I had to hear that he
- 27:19brought Tobias Harrison. There's only one teammate I got
- 27:21to mention because how do you not talk about these last two
- 27:24games? If you don't talk about Mikhail
- 27:26Bridges, how do you not talk about him, what he did in the
- 27:30last possession of each game? Can you be more clutch
- 27:35defensively than what he is and more clutch offensively than
- 27:39what Brunson is at the same time?
- 27:41That's incredible that we have both of those guys on the on the
- 27:44team. He had the the presence of mind
- 27:47in the first game to steal the inbounds pass and just run under
- 27:51it and like pick it off like it was a safety and wrestle it away
- 27:55like a freaking manchild. And in this game, he knows the
- 27:59right time to help off of Jaylen Brown that cut off the pass,
- 28:02which if it got to Brown, that's a wide open 3.
- 28:05But he knows how to do it because he's, I mean, his arms
- 28:08are ridiculously long for a guy. I mean, he's tall, but his arms
- 28:11are like a centre's length. He's he's like awesome
- 28:15defensively, even when he's not shooting well.
- 28:17And Jabi, you said it, he went off in the fourth quarter too.
- 28:21This guy's fantastic. In fact I might give 5 non
- 28:24lottery first round picks for him and I'm glad they did.
- 28:28Yeah, Errol's mentioned to get beat this team.
- 28:30Errol's mentioned to get with the social media like all the
- 28:32all the Nets fans were taking shots at the Cal.
- 28:34Bridges every single net fan and even Knick fans.
- 28:38Losers all the Knick. Fans, Nets fans for a second.
- 28:40Because I lived, I lived in New Jersey when they were still in
- 28:42Jersey and I grew up in Brooklyn and had the choice when the
- 28:47Knicks were terrible to switch and I just couldn't do it.
- 28:49And thank God I couldn't do it. Thank God I couldn't do it.
- 28:53You guys stink. You're a bunch of whining
- 28:54babies. All right, all right, You do
- 28:56this about you do this with jet fans.
- 28:59You this is what you do with fans you can't stand.
- 29:01Come on, wait, stop, stop all the time.
- 29:03This is what you do. You do it you do it with
- 29:05Islander fans. If you're not, if you're not
- 29:08rooting for the team, this is what you do.
- 29:09You put down the other team. I I think it's.
- 29:11Ridiculous. You like to rhyme your team.
- 29:13No, I don't. No, I do not.
- 29:15I do not. Do are you are one-of-a-kind?
- 29:18I do not. I speak the truth of my teams.
- 29:20I don't go back and go, oh, my team's so great when they're
- 29:24not. I've taken shots at the New York
- 29:26Jets all season long. I thought they were wretched in
- 29:29so many ways than one. Robert Soller, and you know
- 29:31what? I call him Bambi.
- 29:33I knew he was going to get fired.
- 29:34He was should have been fired two years ago.
- 29:36I I'm, I'm honest. I sit here today and I've always
- 29:39been honest about my teams. And to sit here and listen,
- 29:43Fish, ever since you've been on the show, and I I love you.
- 29:45You, you attacked Jet, The Jets organization.
- 29:48Fine. You want to talk about The Jets?
- 29:50Yeah. Well, guess what?
- 29:51What are the science have done over the last couple of years?
- 29:53Nothing. They've done nothing.
- 29:55They've been a mockery of the the NFL and their draft picks
- 29:59have been a mockery. Then you go back and you look at
- 30:01your Rangers. Oh, by the way, they resigned.
- 30:04Chris Drury, fantastic move by the New York Rangers.
- 30:07The end. Mike Sullivan, is that going to
- 30:09make a difference? Good for them.
- 30:10They've had how many Stanley Cup champion coaches?
- 30:13Good job to the New York Rangers.
- 30:15And then let's go back to the Yankees, who I'm a fan of two.
- 30:18What have they won since 2009? And Chopin knows all about that
- 30:23one because he was a part of it. They've won nothing.
- 30:26Absolutely zilch. But then you all know what Fish
- 30:30likes to do. He likes to go after the Mets
- 30:33and the Mets haven't won anything.
- 30:34Pick on them. The the landing many baby Mets,
- 30:38I'm going to pick on them. And then the Islanders and then
- 30:41The Jets because they're the little cells and hate them like
- 30:48carton. It's just absolute bull crap.
- 30:51I'm I'm telling you right now, stop being a kiss ass to your
- 30:54own teams and sit back and let these teams get chance get a
- 30:58chance. I want to see I want to see
- 30:59Cooper flag go to the Nets. I want to see it because what
- 31:03it's going to do, it's going to drive people don't want to go to
- 31:05net games now and watch Cooper flag.
- 31:07One of the great young power forwards we're going to see in
- 31:11the NBA in very in a lot of years that we haven't seen.
- 31:15I mean, we we talk about all these power forwards that are
- 31:17going to come up and they're going to be great.
- 31:19None of them transition into anything.
- 31:21This kid is special and I'm telling you, I'm I'm going to
- 31:25get a chance to see him play. If I get a chance to see him
- 31:27play in Brooklyn, I'm getting season tickets, even if I'm a
- 31:29Knick fan because I want to see Cooper flag.
- 31:31He's special. Speaking of special, Oh my God.
- 31:35After game one's loss to the Warriors, Timberwolves head
- 31:40coach Chris Finch criticize Anthony Edwards for having just
- 31:44one point in the first half. He mentioned Edwards struggled
- 31:48early and Light went out of a for him and he he has to set the
- 31:53tone early as a leader of the team.
- 31:56He also mentioned that if he knows he's struggling to shoot,
- 32:01he has to keep the energy and help out his teammates.
- 32:05Edwards told ESPN they can blame whoever they want, but nobody
- 32:11played well enough to win the game.
- 32:14Edwards rally back in the second-half to finish with 23
- 32:18points and 14 rebounds, but the Timberwolves still lost by 11 in
- 32:23game one. The Timberwolves will look to
- 32:25bounce back in game #2 tonight versus the Warriors, who still
- 32:29will not have Steph Curry as he is out with the hamstring
- 32:33injury. Curry is expected to be out at
- 32:35least a week, but possibly longer.
- 32:38I'm going to tell you this right now, the series is over.
- 32:41If Steph Curry doesn't come back, it's over.
- 32:43As good as Jimmy Buckets is, he is not going to be able to keep
- 32:46this team on his shoulders, especially with the
- 32:49Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards is not going to
- 32:51play as bad in the first half ever again in this series,
- 32:55especially when the coach is going to come out and take shots
- 32:58at him. I believe Anthony Edwards is
- 33:00going to put up a 40 spot tonight.
- 33:01I think Anthony Edwards is the most electrifying player we've
- 33:04seen in the NBA in a very, very long time.
- 33:07I think he's he's a man child. His mind is all over the place.
- 33:10But when he gets on the basketball court and wants to
- 33:13prove himself, boy, oh boy, he likes to shove his fingers right
- 33:16up somebody's derriere. And this is a guy that
- 33:19understands what he is and he understands where the
- 33:24Timberwolves are. If the Timberwolves have a
- 33:26chance to go to the Finals, it's this year.
- 33:29Because to me, who they're playing against in Golden State
- 33:32is an old team. Jimmy Buckets, who's not 100%
- 33:35healthy and Steph Curry with a hamstring problem probably
- 33:38shouldn't be be back in three weeks.
- 33:40This is a bad hamstring problem. If he comes back in one week,
- 33:44he's not going to be 100%. So get lot, get get ready to
- 33:47watch this team probably get knocked out in a week's time.
- 33:50And then there's the OK C and Nuggets.
- 33:53I just I don't think that any of those teams are going to scare
- 33:57me As good as Shy Alexander is and as good as Yokich is, I
- 34:02think this team is like up and down.
- 34:04Both teams are like up and down. I think the Timberwolves have
- 34:07the best roster. I think the Timberwolves
- 34:09understand what it takes to win after losing in the Western
- 34:12Conference Finals last year against the Dallas Mavericks.
- 34:16I just think that this is the this is the year the
- 34:19Timberwolves could breakthrough and go to the finals if they
- 34:23find a way to get Anthony Edwards in the game and his mind
- 34:27into the game and not with his goddamn video games.
- 34:30I watch enough of Anthony Edwards, Offset, and he's on
- 34:34social media and all he's doing is playing on Twitch and doing
- 34:37all that stuff. Dude, you have a kid.
- 34:39If you want to pay attention to somebody, pay attention to your
- 34:42daughter, or get on the damn basketball courts at 5:00 in the
- 34:46morning like Kobe Bryant did and make sure that you're ready for
- 34:49game #2I. I just, when you look at the
- 34:52talent that he provides on a basketball court, how many
- 34:55players could say they're as talented as this player?
- 34:59He is as good as anybody we've seen in United States basketball
- 35:04is since I think in the last 10 years.
- 35:06That's how good he is. LeBron James says that this guy
- 35:09could be the face of United States basketball for the next
- 35:1220 years, but guess what? He doesn't want to be and stop
- 35:15this crap. Go out there and show everybody
- 35:19why you're special. Go out there and don't let your
- 35:22coach bitch you after the game and show you that you can't be a
- 35:27leader of this team. You are the leader.
- 35:30You're the face of United States basketball.
- 35:32You're the face of the NBA. Go out there and show everybody
- 35:36who you are not. Tell everybody, everybody, show
- 35:39everybody, and take responsibility when you're not
- 35:42playing good. That's what a leader does.
- 35:44Don't sit back there and say we all didn't play well.
- 35:48Go out there and tell people I didn't play well.
- 35:51I'm the leader. I got to be better.
- 35:54And that, ladies and gentlemen, is when people start to respect
- 35:58you as a man and as a superstar. It's always been twofold with a
- 36:03lot of the Anthony Edwards comments we've talked about over
- 36:05the last year or so, really dating back to the Michael
- 36:07Jordan thing. Obviously the the football thing
- 36:09in the middle of the season and the offseason.
- 36:11Oh, I could play in the NFL and be a tight end or something like
- 36:14that. And the Olympics, like you were
- 36:15saying, like with all the stuff he was saying, oh, label himself
- 36:17the truth. And some of them were also fan
- 36:19driven narratives too, Like, oh, Anthony Edwards is the closest
- 36:22thing to MJ because he had that great first two rounds of the
- 36:24postseason. That was a fan driven narrative.
- 36:25So I gave him a little bit of of slack for that one.
- 36:27But this kind of thing is not something that you want to have
- 36:31for the Timberwolves roster that's had their playoff woes
- 36:34with other teams. We talked about how bad Julius
- 36:36Randall was in the playoffs with the Knicks.
- 36:38You don't want to shoot his confidence down like that.
- 36:40Rudy Gobert has been iffy in the playoffs in moments with Utah in
- 36:43the past. You don't want him to be shot
- 36:45down like that either. This is a Minnesota team that
- 36:47has an opportunity with Steph Curry out to make a big
- 36:49difference. Make a big statement in the
- 36:51series like we were talking about with the Knicks series
- 36:52like you want to be well rested in the NBA.
- 36:55The NHL playoffs are a little different because I think the
- 36:58NHL playoffs sometimes sitting too long is a bad thing in the
- 37:00NBA. It's not really because you
- 37:01want, there's a reason people low manage in the regular
- 37:03season. So these kinds of things, you
- 37:05can win this series in five games and you're going to lose
- 37:08this confidence doing this way. And same kind of thing with the
- 37:10coach too, like the coach. We've seen these coaches get
- 37:12fired all the time at the end of the season.
- 37:14Right now it seems to be a modern trend.
- 37:16Let's not act like this coach could be any less safe for his
- 37:19job position either. He's a good coach, but these
- 37:21coaches are very expendable now. Yeah, I think there's a lot of
- 37:26factors are good and you make a great point on you know how
- 37:28people, you know, moan and groan about load management, but also
- 37:33when you get in the grind of, you know, 7 game series, you
- 37:36know, every round it it gets a lot.
- 37:38And yeah, the the warriors, they're old.
- 37:43I don't know if, if Jimmy can hold it together and who knows
- 37:46what Buddy Hield you'll get. And I, I just think with what
- 37:51the Timberwolves have, I think their, their best shot is I
- 37:55just, I, I don't know what I think about Ant because there
- 37:58are some things you're just like, wow.
- 38:00And then there's other things like was he really so nonchalant
- 38:04when the he found out they were 12 or 76?
- 38:06Like you didn't know that. Like they don't get sheets
- 38:08afterwards or whatever. Because you're not even.
- 38:10Looking at them on the desk. Yeah, maybe not in the moment,
- 38:13but I guess it's something that could pile up in your head
- 38:16thinking that way. And the menace, they were so
- 38:18lifeless offensively and and they just kept trying to shoot
- 38:21the threes and he kept trying to shoot the threes.
- 38:23But I guess he was saying, oh, everyone else was doing it too.
- 38:25This is the problem. This is the problem with the NBA
- 38:27now it's become the Steph Curry NBA.
- 38:30Everybody's trying to be Steph. These 3 point shots, chunking up
- 38:33threes, the Splash Brothers. This has been a problem the NBA
- 38:38has always run through. Getting in the paint and
- 38:40dominating, shooting those 1718 foot jumpers, drawing fouls.
- 38:44That's what Michael Jordan did. That's what he accomplished all
- 38:47his championship teams and the way he accomplished great.
- 38:51Now all of a sudden everybody wants to be Steph Curry.
- 38:53Everybody wants to be the next big three-point shooter.
- 38:55It hasn't helped the league. It hasn't helped the game.
- 38:58The average 3 point shots in the 90s were under 20.
- 39:02You know what the average 3 point shots right now in the NBA
- 39:04is 35. Think about that that's like
- 39:081718 more 3 pointers now than it ever has been Why?
- 39:13Because of great Steph Curry. The what what Steph Curry is
- 39:16really brought to the league. Does it make it better?
- 39:18I don't think so because I just think that teams forget what
- 39:22their identity is. Jaylen Brown for the game #1
- 39:25forgot who his identity was and then game #2 in the first
- 39:29quarter, he figured it out. Jason Tatum, he's become a luck
- 39:32chucker. Why isn't he getting into the
- 39:34paint and dominating in the paint?
- 39:36He's so long and so good when he gets in the paint with his 1718
- 39:40foot jumpers, he forgot how to do that.
- 39:42It's. A big problem the coaches step
- 39:44in when they see. Because he sucks.
- 39:47Because he sucks. That's why he's terrible.
- 39:50He's a garbage dump over there with the Celtics.
- 39:54That's what the garbage the Celtics have put out there.
- 39:57And everybody says we'll look at the talent they have.
- 40:00Look at look at Holiday, look at White.
- 40:02White, nobody wanted he they. I'm not going to say that White
- 40:06isn't a good play and he hasn't transitioned.
- 40:07This guy was a journeyman. The Celtics made a trade and
- 40:11brought him in. He was a defensive player.
- 40:13Now all of a sudden he's figured out how to shoot a three and he
- 40:15chucks it up there and maybe he hits it, and most of the time he
- 40:18doesn't. It's pathetic and that's what
- 40:21the NBA is. That's why nobody watches the
- 40:24regular season. It's become a three-point game.
- 40:28Let's play horse, ladies and gentlemen, let's be Steph Curry.
- 40:31Let's shoot from the free throw. I'm sorry.
- 40:34Let's shoot from the middle of the court and see if we can hit
- 40:37it 5 out of 10 times. It's boring.
- 40:40The NBA has become boring because they all want to be
- 40:44stuff. That doesn't take away from his
- 40:46greatness. It just takes away from the game
- 40:49and what the the game has developed over the years.
- 40:51The Kobe Bryant's the fadeaway jumpers are the Shaquille
- 40:55O'neal's power and beat you inside the Patrick Ewings or the
- 41:00Elijah Wan, the dream shooting those fadeaway jumpers.
- 41:04And we will remember what happened in 94 when John Starks
- 41:07decided, hey, you know what, I'm going to shoot 73 pointers.
- 41:11What happened? They lost to Elijah Wan in
- 41:13Houston when they were a shoe in to win the championship up 3
- 41:16two. That was the Knicks.
- 41:18It is become horrible and if you're a Knicks fan, stay away
- 41:23from the three. Do what you're doing right now.
- 41:25It's working for you so. Jabba, I was mentioning it to
- 41:28you last show too, with like the position emphasis.
- 41:30There's not as many good point guards in today's NBA.
- 41:32There's not even any raw centers that are as good in the NBA
- 41:35either. And that's why a lot of people
- 41:36have tried to adopt the Celtics model as trying to be that kind
- 41:39of thing. But when you're the Celtics
- 41:40shooting all these threes, 100 threes in two games, like it
- 41:43still is, defeats the purpose of what you tried to build.
- 41:45How many teams tried to duplicate the Warriors and
- 41:46failed? And the Sun just tried to do it
- 41:48recently. Look what the Knicks did, those
- 41:49speedy, the Knicks built A-Team to stop this Celtics team,
- 41:53right? It was intentionally built to
- 41:55stop this team and they are stopping this team.
- 41:58How do you stop a team that shoots a lot of threes, get a
- 42:00hand in their face constantly? They're not a lot of open threes
- 42:05for this team. I remember watching a lot of bad
- 42:08Knicks basketball with Tibbs not that long ago, where guys were
- 42:11getting open shot after open shot and if they made them, the
- 42:14Knicks lost and if they didn't, the Knicks won.
- 42:17That's how the season went for the first half of this season.
- 42:20And now you see the playoffs in your right arrow that the level
- 42:23of play in the irregular season does not match the playoffs.
- 42:26I wouldn't say that it's no one's watching it.
- 42:29Obviously people are watching it.
- 42:30They're getting more deals, You know, they're making billions of
- 42:33dollars, these guys. Oh, that's the LGA for you.
- 42:36Well, someone's making money. And they said viewership's up
- 42:39this year. It is they, they, they have new
- 42:41ways to measure. No one even knows how to measure
- 42:43viewership today, which is probably the biggest issue with
- 42:46all of it. But I, I just, I, I just want to
- 42:48get back to Anthony Edwards for a second before we move on from
- 42:52him. That guy I don't trust at all.
- 42:55Finch is right for calling him out.
- 42:56How do you show up like that? Go over in the entire basically
- 43:00the entire first half hits like 1 foul shot and then is laughing
- 43:05and joking after the game with Julius Randall.
- 43:08You just lost to Steph. The warriors without Steph.
- 43:11He he left that game in the first half scored 88.
- 43:14They they scored 88 points. Are you serious?
- 43:18That's an embarrassment. Are you like that's that's
- 43:21really if they lose. Now look, playoff Jimmy's a real
- 43:24thing. I, I, I don't I wouldn't put it
- 43:27past you to see say playoff Jimmy steals another game or two
- 43:32and Steph comes back in like game six or seven and wins it
- 43:35for him because they decided to blow this game.
- 43:38And Anthony Edwards decided to no show because he just doesn't
- 43:42care enough consistently. And I think that's what his
- 43:45coach is frustrated with. Jabba, you ever play with
- 43:47somebody, you don't have to use any names, but you ever played
- 43:50with some guys could have been at a younger level, Errol could
- 43:53have been you playing hockey. There's guys that had all the
- 43:55talent in the world, but they couldn't focus.
- 43:57They just didn't care enough. You just.
- 44:00They're surprisingly, yeah, I. Could give you a name.
- 44:03I could give you a name. I'm not afraid to give it to
- 44:05you, but I'll let Jabba answer it and I'll give you one name
- 44:09before we go on. I'm not going to dime anybody.
- 44:12I will, I don't care. They yeah, it wasn't like
- 44:18necessarily like they, they were so nonchalant because it was so
- 44:22easy for him. And so it was like, yeah, OK,
- 44:25whatever. And there's been people called
- 44:28out, but yeah, I wouldn't say it was so nonchalant, but it's just
- 44:31like, OK, I'm going to show up. I'm going to get paid millions
- 44:33and I'm just going to do the bare minimum.
- 44:35Like that. That was probably more so than
- 44:38like the nonchalant because it doesn't look like he ever takes
- 44:41it serious like when he's doing. And that's why I said I don't
- 44:44know if I say wouldn't trust him because he has all the ability
- 44:46in the world, but it's just like which which does he wants to be
- 44:50the fun loving guy, the like by fans?
- 44:53Does he just want to be that? Like I just I don't know if he
- 44:56truly know. He said he doesn't want to be
- 44:58the face of the league. But if somebody's already
- 45:01labeling you that of the standard of LeBron, like you got
- 45:05to take some consideration and be like, wow, he sees that in
- 45:08me. Can I look myself in the mirror
- 45:09and think about that? So I don't, I don't know what
- 45:13he's doing, but whatever. I've got 1 and he's actually
- 45:17your GM over there with the New York Rangers.
- 45:21Chris freaking Drury Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I got a chance to
- 45:25skate with that ass and and he talked a lot of crap.
- 45:28And then when I got on the ice and I was playing hard nosed
- 45:32hockey with him, he was a bitch, OK?
- 45:34And that's all he did. He went on the ice and he wanted
- 45:37to talk crap and that's what he did on this.
- 45:39I'm that I'm great on this. And every time, every time I
- 45:43went in the ice with him, I would beat him with minutes on
- 45:47the ice and obviously shots on the net.
- 45:50The guy was overrated. And yeah, he was drafted and I
- 45:53wasn't because, you know, obviously everybody knows the
- 45:55story behind my whole story. But nevertheless, I've always
- 45:59thought Chris Drury was a selfish piece of you know what?
- 46:03And he still is, as Ranger fans are sitting pretty right now.
- 46:07Because you got to deal with him for at least another year, maybe
- 46:09even 2:00. You got the right coach, but you
- 46:12had the right coach last year with Peter Laviolette.
- 46:14You had the right coach the year before when he took you to the
- 46:17Eastern Conference finals. It's all bull crap.
- 46:19The guy doesn't know how to lead.
- 46:21He wasn't a leader on the ice. He thought he could have played
- 46:23professional baseball. What a joke.
- 46:25And his father was the same way. He was out there.
- 46:29My son asked my son that. My father didn't even know what
- 46:31was going on in the hockey game. My father couldn't stand the
- 46:34Drury family. So that's the truth.
- 46:36That's the truth behind the real Chris Drury.
- 46:40You Rangers and you Ranger fans. He has he has a demented piece
- 46:45of of horseshit. I'm sorry to curse, but that's
- 46:48what he is. The Pacers took a 2O series lead
- 46:52versus the Cavaliers after winning 120 to 119 on Tyrese
- 46:56Halliburton's game-winning 3 pointer with one second left.
- 46:59This came after he got his own rebound off a missed free throw
- 47:05and took a ball himself behind the three-point line and shot.
- 47:09Many fans believe that the Pacers got away with a lane
- 47:12violation on the missed free throw and the and the the NBA
- 47:16confirmed they missed the three lane violation on the Pacers
- 47:21with 48 seconds left. The Nuggets are and Thunder are
- 47:25tied 11 after the Thunder dominated the them last night at
- 47:30149 to one O 6 in game #2. The Nuggets won game one on
- 47:35another Aaron Gordon buzzer beater this time A3 pointer.
- 47:39In the battle of the MVP, Shy Alexander is averaging 3033.5
- 47:44points per Game, 7 rebounds and eight assists per game, while
- 47:48Jokich is averaging 29.5 points per game, 15 rebounds and six
- 47:53assists per game. Right now, Shy Alexander is
- 47:56playing like the MVP, but I I look at Yokich.
- 48:00I'm going to tell you this right now, if you think for one second
- 48:04Jokic cares how many points he scores, all he cares about is
- 48:08winning. And I'm going to tell you this
- 48:10right now, I don't. I'm not counting out the Nuggets
- 48:13after they got their butt smacked, they couldn't hit a
- 48:15shot. Russell Westbrook was forcing
- 48:17shots in game number 2 when he was so good throughout last
- 48:20series and the first game not to just throw up 3 pointers and
- 48:24four shots. It's been a big problem over the
- 48:26years. Russell Westbrook.
- 48:27I think that the Nuggets have the depth and I think they're a
- 48:30good enough team to knock off the OKC Thunder.
- 48:33But Shia Alexander has his own rights and he has a belief in
- 48:37his team and what his team is all about.
- 48:39And this is a great offensive team.
- 48:41You could see how important Harnstein is.
- 48:43He he was beaten up a guy like Yokich down the court.
- 48:47And and by the way, if there's anybody that could put pressure
- 48:51on you in the pain, it's it's Harnstein.
- 48:53We've seen Harnstein do it with the Knicks.
- 48:55That's why they spent money in the offseason to bring him in
- 48:58and Knicks couldn't afford him. This is going to be the series.
- 49:01If Yokich can do what he can do against Torn Stein, I think they
- 49:05win the series. This is going to go down to the
- 49:07nitty and the gritty. I think this goes seven games.
- 49:09I love this series. I think it's going to be so fun
- 49:12to watch all the way to the end. As far as the Pacers are
- 49:16concerned, they're getting lucky.
- 49:18They're getting lucky and and and Halpert is a sensational
- 49:21player. I love what I see with Halpert.
- 49:23I can't stand his father and I don't want to see his father run
- 49:26on a cord on anybody. But I love what I see with the
- 49:29Pacers. They show grit.
- 49:31They show a hard nosed type of basketball.
- 49:33But here's the facts. The Cavaliers aren't healthy.
- 49:36Garland is not healthy. As we were talking fish.
- 49:39He has a broken toe as we expect it to be.
- 49:42We we see the injuries and and what the list of injuries they
- 49:46have right now, they're not 100% healthy.
- 49:48That's not an excuse. Their depth all season long came
- 49:52from their bench. Why isn't their bench providing
- 49:54it? And and I love Kenny Atkinson.
- 49:56Where's the defense in this series?
- 49:59Why can't they stop Hal Burton? You know he's their best player.
- 50:03Double team the ass. Make the other players beat him,
- 50:06make the other players beat you. It's been absolutely pathetic.
- 50:11You know he's the best player on the court.
- 50:12You know he's going to get the ball.
- 50:14You know he's going to shoot up threes.
- 50:16You know, he's not going to give up doing what he does best and
- 50:19that's four shots and make sure that he gets more than he
- 50:21misses. I I just don't understand it.
- 50:24And that goes to the coaching And I love Kenny.
- 50:28But Kenny, wake up, smell the coffee and find a way to get a
- 50:31win for your Cavaliers. Beat them, beat the Pacers at
- 50:35their own game, go to Indiana, beat them two games, and then go
- 50:38home and win three games in a row and get back into this
- 50:41series and show everybody why you were the best team, I
- 50:45believe throughout the season in the NBA.
- 50:48Yeah, Kenny Atkins is good job for the most part, but yeah, he
- 50:50does have to make some adjustments on Halliburton
- 50:52because we've seen Halliburton get that playoff confidence last
- 50:55year and the Cavs are now, they're not very new.
- 50:57They're kind of the same experience level as the Pacers.
- 51:00But it's still one of those things where they have a lot of
- 51:02young players that haven't been tested with that kind of
- 51:04adversity. And you mentioned it, a lot of
- 51:05their bench was the reason they struggled in Game 2 to hold that
- 51:08lead in the fourth quarter. And while the lane violations
- 51:10did look a little tacky at certain points, again, they
- 51:12could have made those free throws very easily too.
- 51:14So it might have not mattered what to in a point where the
- 51:17Pacers maybe still tie the game or force overtime even if they
- 51:20do get those free throws against them.
- 51:22But either way, the Pacers are still playing with great depth.
- 51:25This is the same thing they did last year.
- 51:26And we thought it was a fluke because, OK, they beat an
- 51:28injured box team last year. Then they beat the Knicks when
- 51:30they were all hurt last year and like, OK, is this really that
- 51:33good of a team? But they're establishing
- 51:35themselves as a four seed as far as the Nuggets and Thunder
- 51:37series. This is going to go right down
- 51:38to the wire. The The Thunders got the depth
- 51:39and Nuggets. That was my old team.
- 51:40That was my old show name. Yes, it was.
- 51:42Down to the wire. And it's because it's because
- 51:46the Nuggets have that level of experience.
- 51:48Where's my drop, baby? Where's my drop?
- 51:50I'd see if it's still there, but.
- 51:52Let's get that. Out but but the official love
- 51:54it, the Thunder a lot of farts. The Thunder have the experience
- 51:56like you said, the size inside that is really making it tougher
- 51:59on Yokich from a scoring perspective.
- 52:01At that point, but. Like you're saying, he's still
- 52:03scoring, he's still passing, he's still rebounding like
- 52:05crazy. So it's not like they're
- 52:05actually dominating. But Shy is stepping up big and I
- 52:08had Thunder and Six initially, but it's going to see it's going
- 52:10to be very close down the stretch.
- 52:13Yeah, I think the I think the bases it's first of all, do they
- 52:17not teach fundamentals in basketball?
- 52:19Like blacks out, like let's just try to tip it back to somebody.
- 52:22Like he got his own rebound off a tip and then let somebody else
- 52:27beat you. Don't let the best player that
- 52:28you know is going to take the shot, like bring bring help, do
- 52:31something. I'm watching this and I'm just
- 52:33right it. You're seeing it unfold and
- 52:35like, and I wanted to choke myself out watching myself.
- 52:40Do you want me to do it for you? I'll grab your neck right now.
- 52:43Yeah, I mean just like box out, like it's the first thing you
- 52:45use and you never let literally. Speed your best player.
- 52:50Beat you, let somebody else beat you.
- 52:53So yeah, I just and, and then I mean health, it sucks.
- 52:56I mean, it's it's a grind and and I understand that, but you
- 53:00know, if if it is a broken toe, you know how hard that is to
- 53:02play. I don't care how much Toradol
- 53:04and stuff they shoot up in your foot, that can't be fun running
- 53:07up and down. But yeah.
- 53:09And I think the Nuggets OKC is gonna go back and forth.
- 53:13I think it's gonna go 7 and I'm gonna, I'll take Denver and
- 53:17seven. I do just think the back and
- 53:19forth is gonna make it a bearable series.
- 53:23That game was horrendous. To watch Nuggets have been
- 53:25champions before they've been here before.
- 53:27So if they if it goes 7, I'm going to trust that the older
- 53:31veteran team that's been there before is going to figure out
- 53:34how to get that easy or quick basket where it's going to make
- 53:38shy Alexander force up shots and OK, see shy's been really
- 53:43incredible. I didn't get a chance to watch
- 53:45shy all season long. I did take shots to Shy
- 53:48Alexander because I just think that the NBA forgets how good
- 53:52and he deserves to be the MVP every single year.
- 53:55He is the Michael Jordan of basketball right now.
- 53:58I don't think there's anybody better than him there.
- 54:00You could go up and out. He's not Michael Jordan, but
- 54:03when you look at his talent, a 7 foot guy that could see the
- 54:06court, he's Wayne Gretzky on a basketball court that can shoot,
- 54:10that could defend, that can get to the hole at will and dominate
- 54:14and nobody could stop him. Nobody could stop him.
- 54:17In Game 1, he had 42, 22 and 6. Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 54:22He's ridiculous. It's ridiculous and but
- 54:25unfortunately he's going to have to do that for them to win
- 54:28against this team. This is a great team.
- 54:30They won 68 games this year. I don't know how their coach
- 54:33didn't get more consideration for coach of the year with over
- 54:37Kenny Atkinson. He only got like 2 votes.
- 54:39You would think that they would be closer than that.
- 54:41I don't. Really, I guess they just think
- 54:42pressed. He's that kind of AGM.
- 54:45I guess it's a really loaded team.
- 54:48You have depth pieces everywhere.
- 54:50I think they're exposed with this shed experiment because I
- 54:55don't think they should play him inside and he needs to try to.
- 54:58He's just too frail. Did you see the picture of his
- 55:02legs compared to Jokis legs and like why are they having him?
- 55:05Tried playing the paint he's got.
- 55:07Chicken worried about him out of the draft for that reason.
- 55:09He's got chicken legs. First of all, I I disagree with
- 55:12you speed. I knew he was going to be.
- 55:14Good. You're dead.
- 55:14I remember that. I knew he was going to be so.
- 55:16Talented, but in a playoff series where the banging
- 55:19underneath is legitimate, not like what you see in the regular
- 55:23season. He's not there yet.
- 55:25No way. I mean, I remember Kevin Durant
- 55:27came into the league. He didn't even bother with the
- 55:29post game for a long time. And I don't think this guy
- 55:32really should either, to be honest with you until he builds
- 55:35up some strength. I mean, look at Durant now.
- 55:37You know, he can do everything obviously, if he wanted to.
- 55:40He's also 7/1. I don't think that's that big,
- 55:42but it's that's kind of an issue for them in this series because
- 55:46Aaron Gordon's a strong freaking man.
- 55:48That dude's just all beef. Like he's a dunk champion for a
- 55:52reason. He can hit threes now.
- 55:54He's he's been a lot better than I thought he would be for this
- 55:57Nuggets team. He stepped up more than his role
- 55:59was when they won the championship.
- 56:01There's been some cool stories about him too, like losing his
- 56:04brother then switching his number.
- 56:06And being bitten by a dog. And being eaten by a dog.
- 56:09He. Hit that.
- 56:11He hit that three because he wore 50 and his brother was 32.
- 56:15He hit that three with 3.2 seconds left on the clock.
- 56:18Oh wow, crazy. You know, that's crazy.
- 56:20It's incredible. And I, I will sit here today and
- 56:24say this, you need the understanding how to win.
- 56:28If you're not, you've never been there before.
- 56:30And OK CS never been there before.
- 56:32If it goes seven games, the pressure is on them.
- 56:36The OK C Thunder, where everybody expects them to go to
- 56:39the Western Conference finals because they've been the best
- 56:41team in the West. And that goes to the Celtics
- 56:43too. If it goes seven games, even if
- 56:46they come back, guess what? Who's the pressure on if the
- 56:49next if the Knicks lose? Nobody expected them to be
- 56:53there. So even if they come back in
- 56:55this series, the Knicks have the opportunity to have the benefits
- 56:59of being the underdog. So I know everybody's sitting
- 57:03here and everybody's going to try to figure out and try to
- 57:05make excuses on where and what this series is going to turn out
- 57:10to be. I just think that the the
- 57:12Thunder is the the obviously the benefit team because they've
- 57:16been the best team in the Eastern.
- 57:18I mean the Western Conference finals, but the the team that
- 57:21has the most experience, the Nuggets, So and the Pacers.
- 57:23I don't really care about the Pacers honestly, it whoever
- 57:26comes out of the Celtics and Knicks series is going to have
- 57:29the advantage. Everybody knows that no matter
- 57:32who comes out of this series, they're going to have the
- 57:34advantage. Advantage against the Cavaliers
- 57:36that are not 100% healthy and the Pacers that don't shut the
- 57:38hell up and they think that they're better than everybody
- 57:40else. And I love that.
- 57:42Reggie Miller wants to see it, ladies and gentlemen, because
- 57:44when Reggie's sitting there talking with eye and Eagle and
- 57:48I'm laughing, when the Knicks knocking out like they did years
- 57:51and years ago because Reggie had a problem, I'm knocking out the
- 57:54Knicks. I'm going to laugh as the Knicks
- 57:58are going to head to the finals and finally maybe get over the
- 58:01hump. Since then, 94 debacle against
- 58:04her, the one and only Hakim the dream, Elijah Wan.
