show now, Republican candidate for governor More Capital, Good morning, Good morning,
2:34
Dave. Good to be on, Thanks for having me, Thanks for
2:37
being here. The polls are polls are out there, more and you know
2:39
how poles are. There are all kinds of any candidate. Any organization can
2:45
manipulate him to say whatever it is they want. However, there seems to
2:47
be a constant in one in just about any poll I've seen here as of
2:52
late, and that seems to be the rise of More Capital. Now some
2:55
polls, have you been a little bit behind Attorney General Patrick Moore see the
3:00
race for Republican nominates for governor others have you neck and neck, while at
3:02
least others, some others have you in the lead. Either way, the
3:06
takeaway is more capital stock is rising, and you got some serious momentum right
3:10
now. We have great momentum, Dave, and it's a continuation of what
3:15
we've been doing this entire campaign, and that's being on the road every single
3:19
day in counties in West Virginia, showing up and listening to the people of
3:23
West Virginia. You know, I said this last night, but I'm a
3:25
firm believer that the you know, the answers and the solutions to the challenges
3:30
that we face as a state are in the communities and with the people.
3:35
And as I said, you know, as your governor, I will always
3:38
be in the communities and with the people. These polls are you know what
3:44
they are, and there's tons of polls, but there's one thing, as
3:46
you nailed it on the head, that's a constant, and that is the
3:49
trend line. And the trend line shows us moving up. And it's because
3:53
we're out there every single day our message about creating jobs and continuing on the
3:58
momentum that Governor just this has started in this state to create and bring more
4:02
opportunity to West Virginia is resonating, and that momentum is not going to stop.
4:09
We have early voting today. I'm excited you mention it. And here
4:12
we go into this election season right at the right time, and we're going
4:15
to sprint through the tape and we feel really really great about its bag of
4:18
Governor Justice, how important was the endorsement of Governor Justice to your campaign?
4:23
Well, Governor Justice has been a consequential leader in the state of West Virginia.
4:29
I've worked with Governor Justice over the past seven years to build a foundational
4:35
structure in the state of West Virginia to support growth. We know, at
4:40
the end of the day, this is all about keeping our kids here.
4:44
How that's one of the best ways that we grow, and I think Governor
4:46
Justice has been focused on that. You know, I'm not only excited about
4:51
that endorsement of Governor Justice, but I'm honored because I think his acknowledgment of
4:56
my campaign shows that we have a real offer opportunity to continue the momentum that
5:00
we've started here in West Virginia, and as your governor, that's exactly what
5:04
I'll do. It's critically important that a governor has a good relationship with our
5:10
federal delegation. And you know, Jim Justice is going to be the next
5:14
Senator in West Virginia, and I know the other senator pretty dagone well,
5:17
and so we're going to work together to make sure that we bring prosperity together
5:21
to West Virginia. So Governor Justice's endorsement is huge. I've been campaigning on
5:27
the road with him over the last couple of weeks. There's been tremendous excitement
5:31
and enthusiasm out there. I don't know whether it's the two of us there
5:35
or that Baby Dog's there and Baby Dog has endorsed us, but either way,
5:39
there's a lot of excitement. Know your role, You're always going to
5:42
be you and then the Jim both are going to be behind Baby Dog.
5:45
Just know that last night w SAZ Television hosted a gubernatorial for him. How
5:50
do you think it did? What was your takeaway last night? Was great?
5:54
I felt great about anytime we had the opportunity to deliver our message and
6:00
vision to the state of West Virginia in to voting West Virginians is critically important.
6:05
And what I did last night was I laid out a plan to take
6:09
West Virginia to the next level. And if you watch that debate, what
6:13
you will see as we are talking about how we are going to grow jobs
6:17
and grow opportunity, how we're going to build more roads, how we're going
6:20
to provide world class education to our children, how we're going to have the
6:26
safest communities in the country. And we have plans to do that. We
6:30
have plans that are on our website, we have plans that we've talked about
6:33
on the radio and in the media. And I think that's critically important for
6:38
West Virginians to look at the governor candidate who has a plan to take West
6:44
Virginia to the next level, and we're the only one talking about a plan
6:46
to do that. All right, to bar Capita again, the Republican candidate

7:13
I had on their Republican strategist Rob Corneili. He's longtime contributed to this show,
7:16
a guy who can be very entertaining at times. Monday's show, he
7:20
stated that, you, sir, had failed to say that you would vote
7:25
for President Trump. Your campaign director issued a statement which I read in full
7:30
on the air yesterday morning show, in effect saying you are supporting President Trump
7:33
and planned to vote for him. This is a quote from you that was
7:38
included in the memo to me. Quote, I think it's critically important Donald
7:41
Trump win in November. I support President Trump, I've endorsed him, and
7:45
we've made that perfectly clear in quote. Would you care to add anything to
7:48
that statement? Well, I don't know. Well, the gentleman that was
7:53
on your show, he seems like a nice fellow. But let me be
7:56
crystal clear. I support Donald Trump, I've endorsed Donald Trump, and everywhere
8:03
I go across the state of West Virginia, I'm actively asking West Virginians to
8:07
get on board with me to make sure that we elect Donald Trump the president
8:11
of the United States. If you listen to the debate last night, I
8:15
made it also very crystal clear that one of the most important things that we
8:18
can do in November is ensure that Donald Trump is the next president of the
8:22
United States. And in that instance, I said it because Donald Trump is
8:26
built the greatest economy of my lifetime. He brought jobs and opportunity here.
8:33
Part of his campaign platform right now actually includes the state of West Virginia in
8:39
his portfolio to bring energy independence back to this country. So it's critically important
8:45
that we elect Donald Trump to become president. I support him, I endorse
8:50
him. I'm out there asking everybody to vote for him every single day.
8:54
I feel more it's none of anybody's business who people vote for once they close
8:58
the curtain at the ballot booth. But I will ask the question, will
9:01
you be voting for Donald Trump for president? One hundred percent will be voting
9:05
for Donald Trump to be president. Are you surprised that the Republican primary for
9:11
governor has gotten ugly? There's been some big time shots fired. You know,
9:16
many of them, I mean interrupted, many of them, not from
9:18
the candidates themselves, but from you know, the packs. But take it
9:22
from there, well, you know I've been around. You know, I'm
9:26
a lifelong West Virginia I've been around a lot of and seen a lot of
9:31
campaigns, and you see a lot of things in campaigns, But one thing
9:35
I've really developed over those years is great faith in the voters of West Virginia
9:41
to be able to separate noise from news. So let me give you some
9:46
news, Dave, as House Judiciary Chairman, I passed the most conservative agenda
9:52
in the history of the state. I have a plan to take West Virginia
9:56
to the next level. We're going to have the safest communit cities in the
10:00
country right here in West Virginia. We have a plan to provide world class
10:03
education to our kids, develop their trade skills so that we can be ready
10:07
to meet the demands of the twenty first century workforce. And we're going to
10:11
continue on the momentum that we've created in this economy so that we're cutting ribbons
10:16
day in and day out with in West Virginia. Just as Governor Justice has
10:20
I would say again, a sign of that is that Governor Justice has endorsed
10:26
my campaign. He has begun a movement and we will take it to the
10:30
next level. I know you have every intention of winning come May fourteenth,
10:33
and you're probably not thinking about anything beyond that. But if you were not
10:39
to win, would you are you going to support whoever the nominee is if
10:43
it's not you. I'm a Republican, and just as I said, we'll
10:46
make sure that all Republicans up and down the ballot in West Virginia win.
10:50
You know, I'm somebody that actually built the supermajority here in the state of
10:56
West Virginia. So I'm committed to the idea that there's always strength in numbers,
11:01
and the more Republicans that we can have in office, the better.
11:05
Why are you the better candidate for governor? Well, this is all about
11:09
experience. I've governed before, Dave. When you look at the momentum that
11:13
we have in this you know, in the economy right now, and again
11:18
I go back to the endorsement of Governor Jim Justice, and we talk about
11:22
this a lot when we've been campaigning together. We have a tremendous amount of
11:26
momentum. You know, I've been very proud that I'm the person in this
11:30
race that's cut taxes to the tune of seven hundred and fifty million dollars that
11:35
we gave back to hard working West Virginians. I'm a person in this race
11:39
that's actually provided school choice to parents. I'm the person in this race that
11:43
on multiple occasions has provided educators with raises. I'm the person in this race
11:50
that banned sanctuary cities in the state of West Virginia. I'm the person in
11:54
this race that wrote the bill to ban China from buying farmland in the state
11:58
of West Virginia. I say all of those things to go back to our
12:03
campaign message, and that is that I am to get it done conservative in
12:07
this race, I'm someone that has gotten it done, has the experience of
12:11
having gotten it done. I will get it done and we will always continue
12:15
to get it done for the people of West Virginia. And that requires somebody
12:18
that is that listens and then does. It's about execution when you're leading,
12:24
and I have a track record of doing that, and I'm the only person
12:26
in this race that does more. Capitol Republican candidate for governors said to West
12:31
Virginia, I appreciate you being here, Thanks a lot, and best of
12:35
luck in the campaign. Man. Appreciate it. Thanks Dave, thanks for

15:26
Stop lying. He's a threat to democracy and you know it, but
15:28
are too scared to call it out. Tex says Donald Trump took over a
15:33
growing economy from Obama and ran it into the ground. He also tanked the
15:35
COVID crisis. We know what we get with Trump, uncertainty, chaos,
15:39
and a toddlered mind with a tyranny complex, says a Texter. Texter says
15:45
Dave. We are still last in job creation and job participation of the country,
15:48
last in education. Only state that is still losing population have more overdose

16:02

16:06
to run it into the committee. Now he wants credit for it, says
16:10
a Texter. Get her done, more capital, says a Texter. Early
16:15
voting is underway in West Virginia ten days, including the next two Saturdays,
16:18
various locations here in Kennaw County two and Putnam County. I run down the
16:22
entire list a little later. The guy who along with the community of the
16:25
community clerks, the county clerks, it's their job to make sure things run
16:27
smoothly. Secretary of State Macwarner here in his Secretary of State role today,
16:32
not necessarily as gubernatorial candidate. Macwarner he joins us. Now, good morning,
16:36
sir, welcome to the show. Good morning, great to be with
16:38
you, Dave. Early voting is underway. What are you hearing out there
16:41
this morning? Hopefully you aren't hearing anything, which is good, right,
16:45
That's always good when it comes to the lif Things are moving smoothly. I've
16:48
been around the state talking many of the clerks. Everybody is doing fine.
16:53
People did the testing, logic and accuracy testing a week or so ago,
17:00
complaints out of that. The clerks are ready. The polls are open now,
17:04
so anybody wants to early vote, to go vote. And we're looking
17:07
forward to just a nice, smooth election. I talked to Canawa County Clerk
17:11
Vera McCormick a couple of hours ago, and of course, you know,
17:14
she's running around like crazy, being the county clerk of the biggest county in
17:17
the state of West Virginia, making sure everything was good. No issues there
17:19
now Here in Kanawha County, you can vote at the voter Registration office on
17:22
Courrier Street, the Cross Lane Sheriff's Office, Belltown Hall, City Hall in
17:26
St. Albans, Assistantville Library, LK Community Center, Marmette Town Hall,
17:32
the City of Nitro Police Department and the Girl Scouts Black Diamond Council on Virginia
17:36
Street, West Putnam County. Early voting happening starting today on the second floor
17:40
of the courthouse and the Valley Park Conference Center. Your County Clerk's office or
17:44
the Secretary of State's office has more information about it. Regardless, mac there
17:48
are plenty of opportunities to get out there and vote. There certainly are,
17:51
and I want to remind people there are two trusted sources, one of the
17:55
Secretary of State's website and it's go votewv dot com and others the County Cloaks
18:00
office, and so those are the two places you want to go to for
18:03
anything elections related. Our website, go vowv dot com has your early polling
18:10
locations, your specific ballot if you want to pull that up. It's very
18:12
easy to use. Just type in your name in your address, your specific
18:17
ballot will pop up. So there's already been in this situation a week or
18:22
so ago where it's impulsor or a bad information is put out. We've corrected
18:26
that not on our say, but from a candidate's prospective website. So our
18:30
information was put out. So just remind people to go to where you know
18:34
the information is correct. And again that's the county clerk and the second day
18:38
of State's office. I want to play worst case scenario here, Mac.
18:41
I get to my polling place, I try to check in, but I
18:45
find they don't have my name on the poll book, or I'm listed in
18:47
the wrong precincts, or maybe I'm a Republican. They have me listed as
18:52
a Democrat. Pretty much any kind of issue, and I know in your
18:55
role, you've seen them all. So what happens there? I got an
18:57
issue when I come to the poll they can't find my name and I'm the
19:00
wrong party, residence is wrong, whatever what happens, Well, the co
19:03
workers have been trained that everybody is going to be able to vote. Now,
19:07
what you'll vote is a provisional ballot. If any of the information is
19:10
incorrect, you'll vote a provisional ballots and then that can be straightened out.
19:14
That's what we do during canvassing, which occurs six days after the election.
19:18
So this year, the ections May fourteenth candlasting will occur on Monday the twentieth,
19:22
and that's when the ballot commissioners will go through each of the provisional ballots
19:26
and determine whether it's ballot or not. One of the advantages of voting early
19:32
is that you can go to any of those early voting locations and cast your
19:36
ballot. On election day, you have to go to your specific precinct to
19:40
have your ballot count, so you're not voting a provisional ballot. Yeah,
19:45
that's very important to know, because I listened to all those MAC in Kanaha
19:51
County. You don't necessarily have to vote in your precinct. You know,
19:53
you can vote at any of those early voting locations, which everyone is more
19:57
convenient for you. That's on the early voting period. You can't do that
20:00
on election day. To Dave Alan, showing five eighty Live is brought to
20:03
you part by Morgan and Morgan. If you're injured, contact America's largest injury
20:07
law firm, Visit for the People dot Com. All right, So we
20:11
also want to make sure people realize that if you are a registered independent MAC
20:15
and you have to add then you have to ask for a Republican or Democrat
20:18
ballot now, and that's as of now. As an independent, you can
20:22
choose which ballot you want, but you have to ask poll workers are not
20:26
allowed to ask you which one you want. It's very important that people that
20:30
people know that if I'm a registered independent, I have to go in and
20:33
say, here's my name, here's my registration card, my ID. I'm
20:37
an independent, but I want a Democrat ballot or I want a Republican bout.
20:40
Very important that people know that that's exactly right. And there may be
20:45
a little bit of confusion out there because here six weeks, a month,
20:48
a couple of months ago, there was a big Blue haha and the pulping
20:52
the party about shutting down closing the primary elections that won won't occur until twenty
20:57
twenty six. We can address that two years from now. Right now,
21:02
it's going to be the same type of voting that we've done in the past.
21:06
So you're absolutely correct. If you are an independent or a non affiliated
21:10
person and you go in to ask for a ballot, you get to ask
21:14
for either a Republican orgin pret ballot in this election anything else. As far
21:19
as the early voting that you'd like to add, mac, well, let
21:23
me just go through a few key days. Early voting does start today May
21:26
first, and just will go through May eleven, So that includes two Saturdays.
21:32
There isn't any on Sunday, but two Saturdays. If you want to
21:36
vote an absentee ballot, if you just found out you're going to be out
21:38
of stage or some reason why you can't vote on election day, you have
21:44
until May eighth, that six days prior to the election, until May eighth,
21:48
ask for a absentee ballot. If you do vote absentee, it does
21:52
have to be postmarked. That envelope that you send it back in it has
21:56
to be postmarked by May fourteenth for its account. And then again, of
22:00
course, voting in person on election day is actually the most secure, the
22:03
best way of voting. There's still two weeks to go, and a lot
22:07
of things can happen in two weeks, so the traditionalists like to go vote.
22:12
Sometimes it's a family tradition that taking kids to the ballot box with you
22:15
to let them experience that. So the best standard for voting is in person
22:22
on election day at your local precinct on the watchful eye trained observers from both
22:27
parties. But we do offer that ten days of early voting that is starting
22:33
today. So those are some of the key dates for people that in the
22:37
Yeah, I asked you to be on as a Secretary of State, but
22:41
I would be remiss if I didn't ask you that you are running for governor.
22:44
Anything to report there. I know the w SEZ had a foim last
22:48
night. I'll watch it. I thought you and all of the candidates did
22:51
did very well last night. Anything you'd like to report on that front.
22:55
I felt very good coming out of there. I've had a lot of number
22:56
of positive reactions to it. I was dead that all the candidates showed up
23:02
to participating in that and don't listen to the polls, and I've even heard
23:06
you, Dave strink at some of the cool aids from these polls that have
23:08
been paidful about this other candidate. I think a lot of people are going
23:11
to be surprised on election day. The poet that we've done has shown that
23:15
we're all in this race together, that there's no one that's a fair leader,
23:19
and no one that's out of the four major candidates. So just pay
23:25
attention to the issues and move to the person who's got the leadership, the
23:29
wisdom, the sophistication, and when people look at that, Clarry mc corner

gonna talk to Teresa Howe, who's the Republican candidate for House in District fifty
24:44
two, coming up a little bit later on. I mean, I got
24:45
some text here, and I got a ton of texts to get to.
24:49
Text says, if you're an independent, you want to vote for both sides.
24:52
Why do you have to ask for a ballot Democratic Republican because it's the
24:56
primary. And I you know when I when I was working for the Secretary
24:59
of States, and I used to go into high schools and I would talk
25:02
to kids, and well not just high schools. I mean I went to
25:03
a lot of places and talk to people doing the community outreach thing. I
25:07
used to try to explain it to people as think of it in a sports
25:12
analogy. This is like the regular season. The primary election is like the
25:18
regular season, and you are then voting for someone to move on to the
25:22
playoffs, which is the general election. So in West Virginia right now,
25:26
if you are a registered independent, and make no mistake about it, the
25:30
fastest growing party in West Virginia seems to be independent or nonpartisan at this point,
25:34
or any number of names you want to call it. There are a
25:38
lot of folks, especially younger people, that are signing up that way.
25:41
I learned that from my time in the office as well. But if you
25:44
are an independent, you have to you have to choose do you want a
25:48
Republican ballot or do you want a Democrat ballot? Because you are choosing people,
25:52
it's a nominating process that you are then nominating someone to move to what
25:56
would be the playoffs, which is the general election. Come nova. And
26:00
I always like to say that because by state code, a poll worker is
26:06
not allowed to say, okay, Ryan, my producer comes in, he's
26:08
a registered and independent. A poll worker can't say, okay, Ryan Nicholson,
26:12
you are an independent. Do you want a Democrat or Republican ballot?
26:15
They are not allowed to say that because the reason for that is is you
26:21
could depending on who the poll worker is. I'm not saying necessarily they would
26:23
do this, but you could possibly lead someone. You know, the illustration
26:30
that I used to give, and it's much easier when you see it in
26:32
person, was I would say, Okay, do you want this Republican ballot
26:36
or do you want this Democrat valot? You know, So that's just basically
26:40
their signs up that says, Okay, if you're an independent, you have
26:42
to choose which ballot you want, or if you don't want to do that,
26:45
then you can only vote for nonpartisan races. You can still vote for
26:48
judges, you can still vote for board of education, anything that's nonpartisan.
26:52
But that's why that is now again the state Republican Party and their executive can
27:00
meetings, if you will recall, several months ago, voted that they are
27:04
going to close the primaries come I think it's twenty twenty six, meaning at
27:07
that time, if it stays as as is, then it won't be that
27:14
way. If you're an independent, you will not be able to request a
27:17
Republican ballot. And there's a lot of controversy about that. It was actually
27:21
put off because the you know, and I think rightfully so, that it
27:22
was put off because it would be a ton of work on what is already
27:26
very a stressful time for county clerks and Secretary of State's office and so on
27:30
and so forth. Now, so they decided to put it off a couple
27:33
of years so it wouldn't be in the quote unquote big. Every election is
27:37
big, but you know, you have the four year cycle like this year
27:40
where we vote for president and governor and so on and so forth. So
27:42
they decided to put it off to that time. And I'm hearing there's going
27:45
to be some wrangling behind the scenes to see maybe if if it doesn't change
27:51
that time. But we'll just take one We'll just take one thing at a
27:53
time. Let me see. Texas mc warner called closing the primary a brew

Thank you for being here. Give us the bio and Teresa Howe? Who
31:37
is Teresa how Teresa Howe is a lifelong resident of the Upper Canal Valley.
31:41
I grew up in Marmette. I'm a Christian, a wife, a mother,
31:45
and I should tell my daughter Hannah happy birthday. She's actually a small
31:48
business owner here in Charleston and she's out working today. Happy birthday to Hannah.
31:52
What business does she and we'll even give her a free commercial? Hows
31:55
she is a cosmetologist. Okay, well I could use that. Yes,
31:57
she does, and she does great. What's the name of her business?
32:00
She works at NBC Salon. It's on Corner Street. Well, if you
32:05
need prettied up, go see Hannah. That's right, that's right, And
32:07
today's her birthday? Do you care to tell us how she is or twenty
32:12
four? Twenty four? Yes, yeah, I got socks older than that,
32:15
but anyway, go ahead. Yes, I am a registered nurse.
32:19
I've been a nurse for twenty six years. I graduated from the University of
32:22
Charleston. This past year, I've been helping my husband solely in his accounting
32:27
firm in bell We are very proud that we have created an internship to help
32:32
with the college students in the area, and so he has multiple students that
32:37
will be working with him, that work with him now and also will be
32:40
over the summer. I was the Kennall County Republican Executive Committee chairman for four
32:45
years and did a successful term and completed at mid July of twenty twenty two.
32:52
We advocated strongly for Republicans. We pushed the policies. West Virginia has
32:58
one of the strongest platfs in the nation, so that's what led us to
33:02
politics. We have been strong advocates, my husband and I for the Upper
33:07
Kanal Valley and being a grassroots of volunteer and advocate, you know, that's
33:13
what led us to getting in touch with our representatives and making sure that we
33:16
have people that understand what we need in the Upper Canal Valley. There's not
33:21
a day that doesn't go by that I'm not on the phone with one of
33:24
our representatives, and as a matter of fact, when I leave here,
33:28
I have a meeting with two in regards to discussing some development for the Upper
33:32
Canal Valley. You know, I have been in contact with kit Landhart.
33:37
He's our Agriculture commissioner. We had the push to try to get the future
33:42
farmers of America started in the school system for the Kanaal Valley, and unfortunately
33:46
that didn't take place, but you know, it's a great program. I
33:50
listened at a seminar where three high schools. You know, they've actually done
33:54
really well with that program and kids they've developed the skills to run see see
34:00
machines, and they sell these products and get them back into their own program
34:04
and use those funds. I've been in contact with Chris Warner, he works
34:08
with the Economic Development and it was around twenty seventeen. He asked, He's
34:14
like, what do you think West Virginia needs, And I automatically said,
34:16
still manufacturing. The other thing I said is we're missing the mark for our
34:22
kids with you know, sports. A lot of these kids are traveling out
34:27
of state for travel, sports and things of that nature. Lance Wheeler,
34:30
I told him the same thing. He's our County Commissioner. So now we're
34:34
actually starting to see some development. I've been a strong advocate, you know,
34:37
I you know, let them know, hey, these are some things
34:39
that we would like to see in our area, and unfortunately we're not quite
34:44
seeing the development for the Upper Canal Valley. There is some things that's going
34:47
on, and I understand that we will have a visit today in the Bello
34:52
area from one of our representatives. They're developing a trail system up there,
34:57
so I'm very proud of that. Even being on the Camp Paint trail.
35:00
This has been a little bit different than advocating for Republicans to get an office.
35:05
Now it's my turn to step How different one a's you isn't it much
35:07
different? Much different? You know, I've had people to reach out to
35:10
me. Our senior citizens are having you know, they're struggling with what's going
35:15
on with the economy, and they're like, where you know, what food
35:17
sources do we have and so forth. So automatically I reached out to Kent
35:22
leanhard and he gave me the organizations they could reach out to, and you
35:27
know that's actually helped as well. So again we're talking to Teresa how who's
35:30
a Republican running for House in district of fifty two. So you talked about
35:35
your work advocating for other candidates and things that you've done different things in the
35:38
community. So why what led you to this decision to say, Okay,
35:43
I need to start working for myself, so to speak. And I'm technically
35:46
not working for yourself. You work with the people. I get that,
35:49
but I mean to want to do this for yourself as opposed to other people.
35:52
What was it that led to that decision? After lots of prayer,
35:57
I've you know, had many people saying, hey, why don't you put
36:00
your name into the race and so that way you'll have a different voice.
36:04
And I wasn't quite ready for that, and I had, honestly, I
36:07
had to do a lot of praying about it, and I decided that I
36:12
would put my name in the hat for the fifty second district. I considered
36:15
the commission, but the reason why we got involved, with my husband and
36:19
I was because our kids didn't want to leave the area, and so we
36:22
were concerned about job growth and so forth. And we figured that if I
36:25
did the fifty second district, we could solely focus on development for the Upperkenal
36:30
Valley and what our needs are. And so that's why we'll be on the
36:34
ballot for the fifty second district. I've developed many strong working relationships with people
36:38
that are in the legislature. Now. I have endorsements from Senators, from
36:44
delegates, from our representatives, and the Board of Public Works, and so
36:47
I advocate strongly and I work with them. I've spoke up public hearings for
36:52
some of the bills they've had in the legislature in support of them or against
36:58
them. I've you know, email by call, a text, and so
37:00
that way we already have a working relationship. Any subject that you have,
37:05
whether it would be economic development, whether it would be education, election integrity,
37:09
I've tapped on all of those subjects. Talk with Teresa, how now
37:14
talk about District fifty two. What area are we talking about here? What
37:16
does it? What does it encompass? Is it starts around the Connall Mall
37:20
area around fifty second Street Street where Enterprise of Reno car is and it goes
37:24
to Montgomery and it actually crosses over into the Fayette County side of Montgomery as
37:30
well. So it's just a small area there. You cross the river on
37:32
route sixty and you start around the Houston area and go down to Rand.
37:37
It does not go up to the area of Witcher Creek, it doesn't take
37:42
Campbell's Creek, it doesn't take Hernshaw and so it's basically along those the roadway
37:47
there. What is it about that area that you like so much? I
37:52
grew up in Marmett. I was a child that was twelve years old and
37:58
I would walk from one end of Marmette to the other to get to the
38:00
parks and recreation facilities they would hold force over the summer. I was the
38:05
child that the church bands picked up on Wednesdays and Sundays and when they would
38:09
take me to church. That's what our community is all about. I've actually
38:14
worked, you know, greatly to try to get out in the communities and
38:17
discuss this with everyone. I'm a strong advocate for faith. I think that
38:22
that is one of the things that we're missing for the people that are struggling
38:24
with addiction. You know. I have one of the doctors I worked with
38:30
when I floated to the e Ar at one point he actually had worked with
38:32
the local addiction center and he had asked me, He's like, what do
38:37
you think about faith? Based support for the addiction. I'm like that is
38:40
you know, I have discussed that in multitude a multitude of times, and
38:44
so he had me to reach out to area preachers and so they could actually
38:49
come in and do some faith based training with the they struggling with addiction.
38:53
It's a definite problem, yes, it is. What do you see as
38:57
some of the other I don't want to make it nowative and say what are
39:00
the problems of the fifty second district, but let's say what are some of
39:02
the issues pro or con One of the great things fifty second has going for
39:08
it and some things that you hope to work on afelecting. One of the
39:13
things we see is population loss. We have a total of ten municipalities in
39:17
a fifty second district that includes the sliver of Charleston. There's several areas that
39:22
are unincorporated. So we use our current representatives in the County Commission as our
39:27
voice. So we need to have job job development education. Our percentage rate
39:34
I believe the last I checked of our students that are graduating from high school
39:37
has declined a little bit. You have maybe half of those kids that go
39:42
into higher education, and then you know after the first year, there's a
39:46
percentage that don't go back, and so we have that population. I have
39:52
a strong advocate for education, whether it would be college or whether it would
39:54
be expanding our trades programs. I would like to see that back into the
39:59
high school, you know, even greater to where these kids don't have to
40:05
you know, viye for the positions they have at the career centers because they're
40:08
so limited on space. I actually message one of our representatives and I'm like,
40:12
why don't you take one of these government buildings in Colennall City and consolidate
40:15
them and let's advocate and get this developed into another or you know, even
40:22
move Carver to here so that way they can expand and even create an entrepreneur
40:27
program. We not only want jobs, we want kids to be able to
40:30
create jobs and adults and you know, to flourish those ideas, because that's
40:34
what it's all about. Talk with Teresa how Dave Allenchow and five Day The

our families can trust. Kate White bites for safer schools for our kids,

43:14
Let's vote for better education and a brighter future in Kannall County. Let's
43:17
vote for Kate White for Kanall County Board of Education. Paid for by the
43:21
Committee to elect Kate White for School Board. I'm Katrina Stewart and I get
43:25
this question all the time. Who is Mike Stewart? Well, I want
43:30
you to know my husband, Mike, not the tough prosecutor or candidate,
43:34
but the man I fell in love with. He comes from a coal mining
43:37
family and worked his way through college. He paid every dime of that tuition.
43:42
He's been at my side for thirty plus years and he works harder than
43:45
anyone I've ever known. He's a great dad to our two amazing daughters,
43:49
Isabella and Audrey and our family is everything to him. If you want to
43:52
know who Mike Stewart is. When I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer,
43:57
he was the husband at my side at every appointment, every surgery, and
44:01
every chemo. He was the dad who took care of our daughters when I
44:05
couldn't and made every Christmas special. He's the guy that always fought for me
44:09
and our family. That's the Mike Stewart I know, and that's the Mike
44:14
Stewart you'll get as Attorney General. Mike Stewart a strong conservative leader for Attorney
44:17
General. Go to make WV Great dot com to find out more. Paid
44:22

45:53
Ryan's not to be producing the show tomorrow. Democrat Don Blankenship, who is

46:01
Democrats, Don Blankenship, you've probably seen the TV ads and rest assured I
46:07
am going to ask him about the TV ads because they are a little different,

to say the least. The Don Blanketship, who is Democrat running for

46:19
on in Nitro this week, and lots of towns and cities are getting together
46:22
because if you look at the calendar, it's May. It's May fourth.
46:25
And I'm not a Star Wars guy, but I mean, I know,

a kid of the seventies. How in the heck can I not be a
46:30

thing is huge, and I know that Nitro's got some things with May the

wait programming Note. I originally had Conawa County School Board member and candidate for
46:59
real actually Cavitor schedule will be on the show today. He had a scheduling
47:02
conflict and he had to reschedule. Get him on the schedule real soon,
47:06
probably one day next week. I will let you know when it is.
47:09
You know it happens. He's a dad and you know it happens. So
47:15
we had to reschedule, so we'll try to get him rescheduled for next week.
47:19
Also, I want to say this, if you are a candidate for
47:22
office, and you've heard me say this for months now, and if you
47:24
want on the show, you better get with me soon. We only have
47:28
the rest of this week and all next week and then the Monday and Tuesday
47:32
of election day to get you on. That's it. Try me an email
47:36
Dave dot allenwvradio dot com Dave dot allenwvradio dot com, and I'll do my
47:40
best to get you on the schedule. Keep in mind it is a first
47:45
come first serve basis, and I'm simply not going to be able to have
47:49
everyone on that wanted on. That's why I've been saying since January, get
47:52
on the schedule. I had people in January that booked with me to be
47:57
on, like you know, a couple of days before the election, and
48:00
they would have had booked at dead So good on them. I'm doing my
48:02
best, but it starts with you don't contact me the day before the election
48:07
or on election day saying you didn't get your shot. As my old granny
48:09
would say, I done took and told you you had time to get on
48:14
the schedule. But make it happen. Hopy kirschwill coming up to ten o

49:10
get a chance to catch the WSAZ gubnatorial for him last night? I did
49:16
U and I will say my takeaway was, I thought they all did well,
49:21
all the candidates that were on last night. The rules, and I
49:25
will say kudos to w SAZ for doing it this way, no attacks and
49:30
the candidates were not allowed to directly address each other. I thought Tim Eyre
49:35
and Sarah Sager, who moderated as well, I thought they did a fantastic
49:38
job. And they were right on it as far as the time goes.
49:44
The candidates didn't have to go more than one or two seconds over before they
49:49
heard the buzzer to shut it down, and they all did well. I
49:52
think, you know, Chris Miller reiterated the fact that he's going to eliminate
49:58
the state income tax on day one. Spoiler alert, Chris, he can't
50:04
do that and he won't do that. Now, he could say he'll work
50:07
toward it, but to eliminate at day one the governor doing that ain't happening.
50:14
Also, he continues to support drug testing for welfare recipients. I think
50:19
a lot of people do, but the devils of the details, and that's
50:24
it's been thrown out in courts across America. I'm a I'm a proponent,
50:30
I'm for it, but the courts have said otherwise. But again, I'm
50:34
not hating on Chris. I'm just saying that, you know, you say
50:37
those things, and it's easy to say, but maybe you got to say
50:39
and again he didn't ask me for my advice. Maybe you should say,
50:42
I'm gonna work on these things and I'm not going to necessarily do Overall,
50:45
though I thought the event was very nicely done. Kudos to ws A Z.
50:50
I don't know how much it will actually move the needles we've been talking
50:52
about throughout the morning. Early voting is underway effective this morning. It is
50:57
worth noting, though, that there are still a lot of people that are
51:00
undecided who they will vote for in the Republican primary. I did an informal
51:06
poll yesterday among some of my Republican friends. I spoke to a grand total
51:10
ryan of about ten, because that's really pushing it for me to have that
51:15
many friends to begin with, and I ask them who they're voting for.
51:19
Of those numbers, I got two, Chris Miller's three more capitos, and
51:24
the rest were undecided. Again, that's about as informal as you can get.
51:30
Not exactly a coveted base. There. Have you been watching the coverage
51:37
of the protest of various college campuses. I'm gonna be honest with you.
51:39
I'm gonna close with this. My patients is wearing them with these people,
51:43
and I'm not talking about protesting. I'm all for protest. Knocked yourself out,
51:46
