- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, get a team. Welcome to another installment of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: U Project. Craig Anthony Harper, Greg Patrick, Kevin John, Ferdinand Riley. Now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: because I'm clearly a genius and a very experienced podcaster,
- 0:14Speaker 1: Greg and I just did about ten minutes of absolute
- 0:17Speaker 1: gold that I didn't record because clearly not a genius
- 0:21Speaker 1: more to the fuckword end of the scale. So Greg,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I apologize, Sorry, mate.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Look serious, I mean some of that stuff you discussed
- 0:30Speaker 2: was I'd be going to Donald Trump and elt of
- 0:33Speaker 2: Musk and say, how are you need to have halps
- 0:35Speaker 2: on the team? That's how good?
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we couldn't repeat that. You're never going
- 0:41Speaker 1: to kick that. I'm sorry, listeners, that was gold. That
- 0:44Speaker 1: was the gold that you never know. That's bullshit. It wasn't.
- 0:46Speaker 1: It was just me banging on and we all banging
- 0:49Speaker 1: on about the GP. We're not going to go there
- 0:51Speaker 1: again because it's GP day in Melbourne, it's raining in Melbourne,
- 0:55Speaker 1: it's it's a whole bunch of stuff in the thriving metropolis.
- 0:58Speaker 1: But where we were up to when I realized cleverly
- 1:03Speaker 1: that I wasn't actually recording us is you were about
- 1:06Speaker 1: to You're about to well, you were just starting to
- 1:09Speaker 1: tell my listeners a little bit about you so that
- 1:12Speaker 1: we can do a deep dive on Craig things and
- 1:15Speaker 1: Greg things and human behavior and happiness and all the
- 1:19Speaker 1: things that we want to open the door on today.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So I'll shut the fuck up and you can restart
- 1:25Speaker 1: that little monologue. Take two, Take take two and his Greg.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So I've spent you know, I started on fifty now
- 1:36Speaker 2: spent twenty five odd years in corporate banking. So I
- 1:40Speaker 2: started off at west Pax when I was sevent eighten
- 1:42Speaker 2: it's a tower. I worked my way up there, moved
- 1:45Speaker 2: another company for a little bit of time after that, stage,
- 1:48Speaker 2: left that, and then moved into a consulting role in
- 1:51Speaker 2: the project space through through ain Z for a number
- 1:54Speaker 2: of years. So I've held a lot of senior positions
- 1:58Speaker 2: running appro's the multimillion dollar projects teams are fifty twenty
- 2:03Speaker 2: five globally across the board. Yeah, so I've had a
- 2:07Speaker 2: fair extensive experience in the corporate environment with running teams
- 2:12Speaker 2: and delivering on results and projects initiatives and that kind
- 2:15Speaker 2: of stuff. And there's there's the I suppose the other
- 2:20Speaker 2: part of me is a bit like Clark Camp there's
- 2:22Speaker 2: a there's a part of me that's the banker. Then
- 2:24Speaker 2: I hop into a telephone booth and come out of Superman.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The other part is the psychic part, the spiritual stuff. Right.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So so in my early twenties, wasn't necessarily happy with
- 2:34Speaker 2: where the direction of life was going, and I started
- 2:36Speaker 2: doing martial arts and meditation and found myself in a
- 2:40Speaker 2: tarot course one night and ended up giving a reading
- 2:44Speaker 2: to somebody and he just literally went white and said,
- 2:47Speaker 2: how would you get that? I had no idea what
- 2:49Speaker 2: I was doing, but ended up basically then, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 2: going to that place a better physics and consciousness and
- 2:55Speaker 2: the nature of reality and you know who we are
- 2:58Speaker 2: and which sort of goes into you know, I was
- 3:00Speaker 2: brought up a Catholic and all that kind of stuff.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And in twenty eleven I w on the TV show
- 3:05Speaker 2: on Channel WAS seven called The One, which then crowned
- 3:08Speaker 2: me as Australia's most gifted psychic. Did that for twelve months,
- 3:12Speaker 2: walked away from it, which we can talk about literally
- 3:16Speaker 2: did it full time for twelve months and just not
- 3:19Speaker 2: doing anymore, and then from their hypnotherapy and you know,
- 3:23Speaker 2: all that kind of stuff. No of your causes, Craig,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and it's how we met. And now I just love
- 3:29Speaker 2: the part where I'll be able to I hope people
- 3:32Speaker 2: enjoy going to work like I hate, you know, I
- 3:34Speaker 2: really want people to enjoy life, you know, because I
- 3:37Speaker 2: you know, through the corporate side things, I see so
- 3:40Speaker 2: many people going to work and they're just unhappy. I
- 3:42Speaker 2: just don't like the environment. They don't like going there.
- 3:44Speaker 2: They're stressed out, they're coming home. It's not a quality
- 3:47Speaker 2: of life they want to live. You know, those those
- 3:51Speaker 2: businesses tend not to be able to have, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 2: leadership qualities. A lot of people in those positions, they
- 3:57Speaker 2: are insane. Your positions are good at doing something. It's
- 4:00Speaker 2: usually outcome driving. I can deliver an outcome, but very
- 4:04Speaker 2: horrible the people stuff, and that's not on them. It's
- 4:07Speaker 2: like I think, was a ten percent of people and
- 4:08Speaker 2: natural born leaders. The rest of us try and learn
- 4:11Speaker 2: how to do it. So so I've always been fascinated
- 4:15Speaker 2: since the early twenty, you know, my early twenty is
- 4:17Speaker 2: about how the human mind works. Like I'm like you,
- 4:20Speaker 2: obsessed with the factors. How do we tick? Why do
- 4:22Speaker 2: we behave? The way do we do? Why is my
- 4:24Speaker 2: life so shit, you know, and then try and combine
- 4:28Speaker 2: the human side of things, the human psychology part with
- 4:30Speaker 2: and the spiritual aspect of how you draw this in
- 4:32Speaker 2: because you chose to experience this and this is part
- 4:35Speaker 2: of what you've actually chosen assault to encounter and do that, so,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, and then I love, you know, helping people
- 4:42Speaker 2: just tapping into their intuition, Like that's a gift there
- 4:44Speaker 2: that I think people very rarely harness, but they have
- 4:48Speaker 2: access to it. And when you look at most people
- 4:50Speaker 2: like you, if you actually ask something about how did
- 4:53Speaker 2: you make your most biggest decisions? He has there's data
- 4:55Speaker 2: behind the decisions, but most people go the got call.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I just felt found it just felt like it's like, well,
- 5:02Speaker 2: how do you measure that? How do you teach that?
- 5:05Speaker 2: How do you Yeah, well can you teach me that?
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's like, no, you can't teach intuition because it's a
- 5:09Speaker 2: state of state of being, it's who you are. So
- 5:13Speaker 2: so now I just I'm really passionate about leadership, improving workplaces,
- 5:20Speaker 2: people's you know, individual happiness as well too, because it
- 5:24Speaker 2: all starts with there. And then you know, being able
- 5:27Speaker 2: to okay, yeah, that part.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So let's talk about intuition. I mean, I wrote a
- 5:35Speaker 1: thing the other day about you know, like, what is
- 5:39Speaker 1: it like? Intuition? It's like the stuff that you know
- 5:42Speaker 1: without knowing how you know the stuff you know. It's
- 5:44Speaker 1: like ship. You know that you've never been taught. And
- 5:48Speaker 1: I've had a bunch of experience. You and I have
- 5:49Speaker 1: had a lot of talks, right, So I'm I'm just
- 5:53Speaker 1: going to say up front everyone, these are just two
- 5:55Speaker 1: blokes talking about their experiences. We're not trying to convince
- 5:58Speaker 1: you of anything, steer you in a in direction. But
- 6:01Speaker 1: I fucking love this stuff, right, I've been I'm a
- 6:04Speaker 1: little bit of like an oxymoron as well, because on
- 6:09Speaker 1: the one hand, on this guy doing a fucking PhD
- 6:13Speaker 1: in science, and it's got an excise science degree, and
- 6:16Speaker 1: it's very methodical and strategic, and how do we do better?
- 6:19Speaker 1: Think better, create better? What's the process, what's the occasion?
- 6:22Speaker 1: You know, it's all very methodical and framework driven and
- 6:26Speaker 1: all of that is good. However, over here, I'm just
- 6:30Speaker 1: like fucking unicorn running around in a field waving my
- 6:34Speaker 1: arms in the air, going hack and how good's this?
- 6:37Speaker 1: You know? This other shit that doesn't in inverted commas
- 6:41Speaker 1: make sense. So this thing that I've been thinking about
- 6:45Speaker 1: a lot, I want to talk to you about, fuck
- 6:47Speaker 1: so much stuff. I want to talk to you about
- 6:48Speaker 1: that now that we've opened the door. But there's this idea,
- 6:52Speaker 1: Greg that we wheel out a lot, and this is
- 6:55Speaker 1: the idea that, oh, this doesn't make sense, and then
- 6:59Speaker 1: I go, doesn't make sense based on what and what
- 7:04Speaker 1: we're really saying is I don't understand this based on
- 7:08Speaker 1: what I understand, based on what I think is possible,
- 7:13Speaker 1: based on what I think science is or logic, based
- 7:18Speaker 1: on all that stuff, which is my frame of reference.
- 7:21Speaker 1: This doesn't fit into that. So either one that's impossible,
- 7:25Speaker 1: Two makes no sense. Three it's bullshit. Right. And I've
- 7:32Speaker 1: had so many experiences in my life, which, by the way,
- 7:36Speaker 1: could they all be Like I've got to be my
- 7:39Speaker 1: worst critic in this, right If you just think, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I know stuff and you don't, and I've got a
- 7:43Speaker 1: gift and an insight and you don't, well you're a
- 7:45Speaker 1: fucking idiot and that's arrogance, right. So I've had a
- 7:47Speaker 1: lot of experiences that to me seemed completely inexplicable and
- 7:53Speaker 1: like I was getting informed or downloads or insights from someone,
- 7:59Speaker 1: something somewhere, some intelligence that wasn't me, and that may
- 8:06Speaker 1: or may not be true. I could have been creating that.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But the amount of times in my life where I've
- 8:11Speaker 1: had an intuitive, instinctive, almost overwhelming feeling to do or
- 8:18Speaker 1: not do something that in that moment saved me from
- 8:23Speaker 1: something bad, like too many times, too many times, and
- 8:29Speaker 1: like one that I've shared once on this show. I
- 8:31Speaker 1: think I used to work with I used to work
- 8:35Speaker 1: with an organization working with addicts and alcoholics, and some
- 8:41Speaker 1: of the people that I worked with were I used
- 8:43Speaker 1: to go there one day a week and do like
- 8:45Speaker 1: half a day and talk to them about you know,
- 8:47Speaker 1: all the stuff I talk about. I didn't go and
- 8:49Speaker 1: talk about addiction per se. And I wasn't a councilor,
- 8:51Speaker 1: of course, But I was working with these boys and
- 8:53Speaker 1: girls who are trying to get their shit together, get
- 8:55Speaker 1: their life back on track. But there was some interesting character,
- 9:00Speaker 1: let's just say that, and some of them who have
- 9:02Speaker 1: very colorful backgrounds, if not you know, presents. And one
- 9:08Speaker 1: day I was walking down a corridor to the room,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and at the end of the corridor was the room
- 9:13Speaker 1: I was about to walk into, and I'd literally been
- 9:16Speaker 1: there three years once a week, so it's out one
- 9:18Speaker 1: hundred and fifty times or something, and this was let's
- 9:21Speaker 1: just say this number. This is number one fifty one.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm just thinking about nothing in particular. I'm walking down
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm about to and about a meter before the door,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I get almost like this electric shock, and I get
- 9:32Speaker 1: this sense of dread and fear, and I just stop
- 9:36Speaker 1: and I feel like I just feel this whatever, this
- 9:42Speaker 1: awareness of be really careful today. I'm like, oh, I
- 9:48Speaker 1: don't even know what that like. I haven't been in yet,
- 9:50Speaker 1: I haven't seen anyone. And it's not like I got
- 9:53Speaker 1: a briefing from the rest of the staff, right I
- 9:56Speaker 1: just rocked up and I was going to do my
- 9:57Speaker 1: thing anyway. As out, I go into that room and
- 10:01Speaker 1: there were a couple of really really interesting characters. I
- 10:04Speaker 1: won't divulge too much, but it's fair to say that
- 10:06Speaker 1: that insight actually was very, very valuable because I went
- 10:11Speaker 1: in with a level of awareness and caution that I
- 10:16Speaker 1: didn't normally take in. And if I had not had that,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I would have got in trouble or I could have
- 10:22Speaker 1: potentially been in danger because there were a couple of
- 10:24Speaker 1: people in there that really wanted to fuck with me.
- 10:28Speaker 1: But because I knew that was coming, I was ready. Now.
- 10:33Speaker 1: There was zero background to that. That's not like I
- 10:37Speaker 1: had a phone call with someone the day before and
- 10:39Speaker 1: they were saying, listen, when you come in tomorrow, we've
- 10:41Speaker 1: got you know nothing. And I've had a form of
- 10:44Speaker 1: that a lot in my life. Now. The thing is
- 10:48Speaker 1: when we look at these kinds of things and the
- 10:50Speaker 1: stuff we're going to talk to you about, psychic abilities
- 10:53Speaker 1: and you know, spiritual journeys and psychedelics and like a
- 10:57Speaker 1: lot of the stuff that that doesn't make sense to
- 11:01Speaker 1: us in the way that I explained before, through our
- 11:03Speaker 1: window of understanding right it. I think it scares us,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and so because it scares us, we tend to go
- 11:14Speaker 1: not fuck that. Don't want to know, it's not real,
- 11:16Speaker 1: that's bullshit. Whereas I'm I still think what I think
- 11:21Speaker 1: and know what I know in terms of science, although
- 11:23Speaker 1: even with science, science is constantly getting shit wrong, as
- 11:27Speaker 1: you and I discussed the other day over coffee. But
- 11:32Speaker 1: I think also, and I'll shut up after this, that
- 11:36Speaker 1: we we have this compulsion that we want to know,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and if we can't know, then it must be garbage,
- 11:44Speaker 1: rather than just saying, look, I don't know if there's
- 11:46Speaker 1: a spiritual world. I don't know if this could happen
- 11:49Speaker 1: or not. I don't know even if there could be
- 11:52Speaker 1: fucking aliens. I don't When people go absolutely not or
- 11:56Speaker 1: absolutely are, well here's my thing, I don't know. That's
- 11:59Speaker 1: my bit, I don't know. Maybe you know it.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Look it's strange because I remember, like after the TV show, Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 2: can you be surprised who I've read for you? These
- 12:15Speaker 2: people are at the top of Australian government.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Just explain, just explain who I read for What does
- 12:22Speaker 1: that mean for our audience?
- 12:24Speaker 2: So so basically doing psychic readings, so people come and
- 12:27Speaker 2: see me about Okay, can you tell me what's happening
- 12:29Speaker 2: around me right now? Can you give me chap into
- 12:31Speaker 2: the field of consciousness and give me some advice on
- 12:34Speaker 2: what I should do or what's coming my way or
- 12:35Speaker 2: what's in the future. Well, I'm I, you know, prepare
- 12:37Speaker 2: myself for whatever's meant to happen, right, So I would
- 12:40Speaker 2: do you know future based psychic readings for people, And
- 12:47Speaker 2: it's it's it's again, it's it's on the outside. People
- 12:51Speaker 2: will poop pole it because it's too woo woo kind
- 12:54Speaker 2: of stuff. It's like, oh, that's all bullshit that they're
- 12:57Speaker 2: calling me and saying, greet can I have a chat?
- 12:59Speaker 2: Like I've read for heads of banking internationally, I've read
- 13:03Speaker 2: for government people, I've read for royalty right that the
- 13:07Speaker 2: people I've read for you'd be going really it's like yeah, absolutely,
- 13:11Speaker 2: I mean everyone know it's like celebrities and that kind
- 13:13Speaker 2: of stuff, but I've read for heads of state.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Tell me how wow wow, all right, so tell me
- 13:20Speaker 1: how that would work. I'm I'm the Prime Minister.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Of goes through a number of different channels first versus
- 13:26Speaker 2: like this is full of shit, this is crap, and
- 13:28Speaker 2: it's like I don't know, No, this is real. And
- 13:31Speaker 2: it goes through Yeah, they don't contact you directly, it
- 13:33Speaker 2: goes through backdoor channels and it's never ever to be
- 13:37Speaker 2: ever talked about it or ever to be ever released.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You sign NDAs and everything like that. There's a whole
- 13:41Speaker 2: legal documentation behind it as well too, because they don't
- 13:45Speaker 2: just pick up the front of ring you it's just
- 13:47Speaker 2: there is. You sign a legal contracts that you'll never
- 13:49Speaker 2: ever talk about this to anybody.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad you're talking to us about it, and soames.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Kind of stuff roll, you're never going to put it.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I read for so and so and so and so right,
- 14:01Speaker 2: it's and yeah, so it's. But it's funny because on
- 14:07Speaker 2: the outside they will actually say, oh, this is all crap,
- 14:09Speaker 2: but on the inside they're looking for you to be
- 14:11Speaker 2: able to go, hey, can you teach me this because
- 14:13Speaker 2: this stuff is really gold. But yes, but it's a
- 14:17Speaker 2: perception based on the stuff. If you actually do this,
- 14:19Speaker 2: you look like a bit of a bit of a lonitude.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I think. Also, one of the challenges in their space is,
- 14:26Speaker 1: like with any space, I mean, you go with something
- 14:29Speaker 1: as pedestrian as say, personal trainers, yeah my background. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: mean they're amazing trainers and completely fucking terrible trainers. Yeah right.
- 14:38Speaker 1: There are people who have got great knowledge, great skill,
- 14:41Speaker 1: great ethics, great value, Like they're connected with their clients,
- 14:45Speaker 1: they know what's going on, and they provide an incredible thing.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And then other people who are the opposite of that.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So I guess that's true in because I mean, I
- 14:56Speaker 1: think one of the challenges correct me if I'm wrong,
- 15:00Speaker 1: but is that you know, there are people who work
- 15:04Speaker 1: in that space who are full of shit in charlottoas.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Trouble for saying this, but most ninety percent of full
- 15:10Speaker 2: of shit right, And that's industry as well too, Like
- 15:13Speaker 2: you could you could remember there's there was this is
- 15:16Speaker 2: years ago, hay House door in Virtue. You know, of
- 15:18Speaker 2: course you could rock up on a Friday, have no
- 15:20Speaker 2: psychic ability, come out on the Monday with a certificate
- 15:23Speaker 2: cost you fifteen hundred dollars, and you've got to have
- 15:24Speaker 2: thing to say. I can go and read for people now, Like,
- 15:27Speaker 2: that's just that's just dangerous. That's that's unethical on that
- 15:30Speaker 2: part to be able to do that and say after
- 15:32Speaker 2: three days of training, you can go out now and
- 15:34Speaker 2: actually start screwing with people's lives. No, like I train,
- 15:38Speaker 2: I think I spent. I didn't do my first read
- 15:41Speaker 2: until I had seven years of training under my belt.
- 15:43Speaker 2: My mentor wouldn't let me. She's like, you're not going
- 15:45Speaker 2: anywhere near people, you're not ready. That's why I did that,
- 15:48Speaker 2: you know, That's why I was so sought after, because
- 15:50Speaker 2: I had the human psychology part behind me, So I
- 15:53Speaker 2: know how people operate, I know their motivations, I know
- 15:56Speaker 2: why they're so that's why that's why people saw it
- 15:58Speaker 2: after me is like you've got and then the corporate
- 16:01Speaker 2: banking background. Look, I was a normal to do that,
- 16:02Speaker 2: played football, right, and people still connect with that rather
- 16:06Speaker 2: than have this kind of thing, Well they're just every
- 16:08Speaker 2: fair like this guy is a banker, yeah, plays football,
- 16:12Speaker 2: who has this ability to see stuff that most people
- 16:15Speaker 2: can't how much?
- 16:18Speaker 1: How much of I mean, So let's say you're tapped
- 16:21Speaker 1: into some spiritual pathway or insight that a lot of
- 16:27Speaker 1: people generally aren't. So there's that that's going on. But also,
- 16:33Speaker 1: I guess what else is going on is your ability
- 16:35Speaker 1: just to read people from a sociological you know, because
- 16:40Speaker 1: you can see I mean, you don't need to have
- 16:42Speaker 1: a spiritual gift to go old mates shitting himself or
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know, I think this lady is lying her ass
- 16:49Speaker 1: off because there are all these tells. I mean, So
- 16:52Speaker 1: I guess it's almost a convergence of like this spiritual
- 16:56Speaker 1: kind of insight together with your general awareness of human behavior.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the asset like it you are, right,
- 17:06Speaker 2: There's that's where most of the psychics go wrong. You
- 17:08Speaker 2: can read people. You can sit down and look across
- 17:10Speaker 2: as someone, you can actually pretty much read you know,
- 17:14Speaker 2: some of the cues are actually giving out if you're
- 17:15Speaker 2: a smart cookie and you understand this stuff. But where
- 17:18Speaker 2: the real talent lies. You combine that all that stuff
- 17:21Speaker 2: together and it's a very unique gift. And that and
- 17:23Speaker 2: that in itself that in the business world, the corporate world,
- 17:27Speaker 2: the leadership world, you are in the one percent. Like
- 17:31Speaker 2: you learn this, you're getting head hunted the next day
- 17:35Speaker 2: and people will come after you because that's how this
- 17:37Speaker 2: that's how good you know, combining these these these talents
- 17:43Speaker 2: is needed today.
- 17:45Speaker 1: What were the pros and cons of sitting with very
- 17:49Speaker 1: high profile, famous and maybe even infamous who knows people
- 17:55Speaker 1: like and reading masks? The masks what does that mean?
- 17:59Speaker 2: Well, it just what they're presenting like that, it's there,
- 18:03Speaker 2: they're present. Most of them are lonely. Most of them
- 18:06Speaker 2: have got more stress you can poke a stick at.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Most of them are unhappy, most of them can't relax.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Most of them are looking for someone who's trying to
- 18:15Speaker 2: take over what they're trying to get. Very few people
- 18:18Speaker 2: could show a part of themselves that was comfortable, and
- 18:22Speaker 2: there was always this thing I need to get more
- 18:24Speaker 2: and have more is drive externally to try and control
- 18:27Speaker 2: things that they were control freaks, a lot of them.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:31Speaker 2: And you know too, And you know to be in
- 18:36Speaker 2: a space where you sit there and you can see
- 18:38Speaker 2: in someone's secret life, the part that they don't tell anybody,
- 18:41Speaker 2: not have their partners, Like, that's a gift. That's a
- 18:43Speaker 2: place that I respect. I take a lot of respect
- 18:46Speaker 2: with that. And sit there and come out, I've seen
- 18:48Speaker 2: a part of you don't show to anybody else. And
- 18:50Speaker 2: my thing is like I want I want people to
- 18:53Speaker 2: be happy, you know, I want them to heal beyond
- 18:57Speaker 2: this because I've been there. Like when I stayed your
- 19:00Speaker 2: course years ago, my marriage was about to break down.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Like if I hadn't done your course, I wouldn't I
- 19:05Speaker 2: wouldn't be together. Wow, that's how important this stuff is.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Well now, by the way, everyone that's got nothing to
- 19:11Speaker 1: do with me, that's got everything to do with Greg
- 19:13Speaker 1: doing whatever Greg needed to do and hear and what
- 19:16Speaker 1: he needed to hear. But what what did you need
- 19:19Speaker 1: to hear? And what did you need? What came out
- 19:22Speaker 1: of that for you? That was so transformational?
- 19:27Speaker 2: You you listened, you connected, You didn't blame, you didn't judge,
- 19:32Speaker 2: You saw the real person, not the what he was
- 19:36Speaker 2: trying to just overcome. I remember there was a week
- 19:40Speaker 2: two or week three it came out that I had
- 19:44Speaker 2: been on the TV show and stuff like that, and
- 19:47Speaker 2: I think he kind of saw that I had carnage
- 19:50Speaker 2: from that as well too, so and then over the
- 19:54Speaker 2: top of it, it was really understanding how people perceived
- 19:57Speaker 2: the world of perceptions, how the mind works. Like you know,
- 20:01Speaker 2: it's you tell me, Craig, where do you sit in
- 20:03Speaker 2: the body? Where is you? Where is Craig inside the body?
- 20:07Speaker 2: For me, yeah, that was one of the questions you
- 20:10Speaker 2: asked me originally, is like tell me where are you?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Where are you in the body.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It's like I'm not yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 2: So I learned so much about why I always behave
- 20:20Speaker 2: in the way I did, but in a very very
- 20:22Speaker 2: simple terms. Right, there's so much stuff out that's complicated.
- 20:25Speaker 2: It's like, just do this. It's as simple as it is.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Dumb it down.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Yeah. I think also, if you can listeners, if you
- 20:35Speaker 1: can find a person that is coming this sounds up,
- 20:39Speaker 1: fuck it? Why do I always do that? I'm just
- 20:40Speaker 1: going to say it. If you can find someone that
- 20:42Speaker 1: is coming from a place of love, not coming from
- 20:45Speaker 1: a place of strategy or self service, but coming from
- 20:49Speaker 1: a place of I just want you to be the
- 20:53Speaker 1: best you, right, and what that that doesn't have anything
- 20:58Speaker 1: to do with me. It's like, there's no I don't
- 21:00Speaker 1: need anything out of this. I don't want anything out
- 21:02Speaker 1: of this. And it turns out that you and I
- 21:05Speaker 1: get on well and we become friends, which is a bonus,
- 21:08Speaker 1: but that was not a plan, right, And I think
- 21:12Speaker 1: also to be able to you know, the beauty about
- 21:14Speaker 1: people that genuinely only want the best for you is
- 21:20Speaker 1: that you can trust them. And we don't know who
- 21:23Speaker 1: we can trust generally, because there will be a lot
- 21:25Speaker 1: of people who present themselves as friends who aren't. And
- 21:29Speaker 1: this is not being negative. This is just a fucking
- 21:32Speaker 1: fundamental of life. You probably all realize that now that
- 21:35Speaker 1: not not all sheep that are dressed up as sheep
- 21:39Speaker 1: a fucking sheep, you know. So the ability to be
- 21:45Speaker 1: able to or I guess, the freedom to be able
- 21:48Speaker 1: to just trust a person who goes listen, Greg, I
- 21:52Speaker 1: can see you in a way that you can't see you,
- 21:56Speaker 1: just like you can see Craig the way that I
- 21:58Speaker 1: can't see me. And so I want to go, Greg,
- 22:01Speaker 1: what are you seeing? And you want to go, Craig,
- 22:04Speaker 1: what are you seeing? And it's like and as soon
- 22:07Speaker 1: as we which is easier said than done, but lose
- 22:10Speaker 1: the ego and lose the you know. And when there's
- 22:14Speaker 1: no judgment in any of this, there's just awareness and love,
- 22:17Speaker 1: it's like, oh fuck this is. This is two men
- 22:21Speaker 1: having an experience and a connection that two men don't
- 22:25Speaker 1: often have. I fucking this is. I want this more.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, there's also as men, we're not driven
- 22:33Speaker 2: to have conversations like this, you know, we're driven by
- 22:36Speaker 2: a testosterone with in itself. Is a is a hormone
- 22:38Speaker 2: that fixes and finds solutions? Yes, is the one that
- 22:42Speaker 2: actually gives us the ability to sit there and listen,
- 22:44Speaker 2: to learn and connect. Right. So, you know, most men
- 22:47Speaker 2: are fighting against their biology. That's why most therapy for
- 22:51Speaker 2: men fails. Most of it does because they to the
- 22:56Speaker 2: testosterone side of you know, the hormones wants to find
- 22:59Speaker 2: a solution to fix it straight away, rather than just
- 23:01Speaker 2: go into the talking and the empathy. This is why
- 23:04Speaker 2: you know, in relationship council, you've got to meet people
- 23:06Speaker 2: halfway and understand women talk like this, men talk like this.
- 23:10Speaker 2: This is why most communication goes backwards in relationship because
- 23:13Speaker 2: they understand understand hormones.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah, and that that intersection of
- 23:21Speaker 1: thoughts and feelings and biochemistry and hormones, and then you
- 23:25Speaker 1: throw in fear and anxiety and beliefs and fucking programming
- 23:29Speaker 1: and conditioning and childhood trauma and oh it's a the
- 23:33Speaker 1: ship show. Yeah, it's a shit festive human experience.
- 23:39Speaker 2: But to really to answer your question, there was it
- 23:43Speaker 2: was care. There was real, genuine care about me, and
- 23:49Speaker 2: you know, you saw beyond what I was presenting, Yes,
- 23:53Speaker 2: like you saw the real person underneath there that that
- 23:57Speaker 2: I hope someone actually saw one day. Yeah, yeah, which
- 24:02Speaker 2: is a talent.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yeah, well, thank you. I think Also, you know, like
- 24:08Speaker 1: a lot of the high ish profile people that I've
- 24:12Speaker 1: either trained or coached or counseled or spoken with, you know,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I kind of eventually go to them, you know, all
- 24:19Speaker 1: that famous stuff like without being retud by the way,
- 24:22Speaker 1: well done, it's amazing, But I don't give a fuck
- 24:24Speaker 1: about that, and they're like, it's almost like they're good.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't want to talk to the persona. I just
- 24:30Speaker 1: want to know you and whether or not you're an
- 24:33Speaker 1: actor on the telly or whether or not you're driving
- 24:35Speaker 1: a Bobcat and fucking, you know, making holes on a
- 24:38Speaker 1: construction site. I really don't give a fuck. People say that,
- 24:42Speaker 1: but I don't give a fuck.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I can tell you now, the more money you have
- 24:49Speaker 2: a lot of people, the more problems they have. I
- 24:51Speaker 2: know many many more depressed and drugged up entrepreneurs are
- 24:57Speaker 2: over millions of dollars versus Bobcat drive.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And that's not say one causes the other,
- 25:04Speaker 1: but yes, that and we've kind of, you know, we've
- 25:08Speaker 1: opened that door quite a few times here, but that
- 25:11Speaker 1: I think that being just coming back a little mini
- 25:16Speaker 1: circle to where we're talking about how open like when
- 25:19Speaker 1: you and I first met, and I could, you know,
- 25:22Speaker 1: see in you stuff that maybe other people didn't see
- 25:24Speaker 1: with you, and maybe in a way you felt like
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'm being seen for the first time or maybe for
- 25:31Speaker 1: the first time in a long time, where this guy
- 25:34Speaker 1: sees me, not the show or the brand or the persona, but.
- 25:37Speaker 2: That the post.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I've probably spoken twenty times in six years about this,
- 25:43Speaker 1: so I'll be brief on it, but you've heard me talk.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I think I talk about public you and personal you
- 25:49Speaker 1: and private you and secret you, and you know, public
- 25:53Speaker 1: you is this you know, like you in the shopping center,
- 25:57Speaker 1: yeah you on Instagram whatever, Right, Personal you is the
- 26:02Speaker 1: guy that people might meet in the cafe where you
- 26:04Speaker 1: have a little bit of a deeper chat and it's
- 26:06Speaker 1: a little bit less formal, and you might be a
- 26:09Speaker 1: little bit more vulnerable and revealing, and you know, some
- 26:13Speaker 1: kind of peripheral friends. And then private you is really
- 26:17Speaker 1: the you that only maybe a few people in the
- 26:20Speaker 1: world get to meet, you know, maybe close friends of course,
- 26:26Speaker 1: your partner. And then secret you is the person that
- 26:30Speaker 1: only you know. And I really try, I really try
- 26:37Speaker 1: to present private me to the world, and not for
- 26:41Speaker 1: the sake of anything other than I think if I
- 26:46Speaker 1: can teach the things and share the thoughts and ideas
- 26:49Speaker 1: and strategies that I didn't invent. By the way, I'm
- 26:51Speaker 1: just the con I say, I'm not the wisdom. I'm
- 26:54Speaker 1: the conduit, Like I'm the conduit to the wisdom, to
- 26:57Speaker 1: the information to the a When I'm not the awareness,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm just fucking pointing you towards it. Right, But if
- 27:04Speaker 1: in the middle of that I can be as vulnerable
- 27:08Speaker 1: as is appropriate, we don't need to everyone does need
- 27:12Speaker 1: to know everything, of course, but on top of the
- 27:16Speaker 1: wisdom and insight and strategy and revelation that you and
- 27:21Speaker 1: I might share in our jobs which didn't come from us,
- 27:24Speaker 1: just through us, if on top of that, you can
- 27:27Speaker 1: be a person that people go, ah that, oh, he's
- 27:32Speaker 1: so not what I thought he might be or she
- 27:36Speaker 1: might be, you know. And which is not to say
- 27:40Speaker 1: that I don't fuck up. I fuck up regularly. But
- 27:44Speaker 1: even with that, I like to tell people when I
- 27:47Speaker 1: did something fucking egotistical or selfish or stupid or which
- 27:52Speaker 1: you know, seven times a day. But I think that
- 27:54Speaker 1: combination of you know, allowing yourself to be vulnerable with
- 28:02Speaker 1: people that might not normally expect it, like you and me, right,
- 28:05Speaker 1: two blokes and we didn't know each other well, and
- 28:09Speaker 1: most blokes and I'm not saying Aunt Gregan Craig Grave,
- 28:12Speaker 1: but that most blokes aren't opening that door anytime soon.
- 28:17Speaker 2: This is the thing, like two dudes and you know,
- 28:22Speaker 2: all just say that's without being a bit wiky sort
- 28:27Speaker 2: of alpha malesh kind of stuff like we've got to
- 28:31Speaker 2: shit together talking about this stuff like it's really cool,
- 28:35Speaker 2: Like he's really really really cool talking about you know,
- 28:38Speaker 2: human behavior, spiritualism, you know, nature of reality, consciousness.
- 28:43Speaker 1: It's so cool, yeah, yeah, and so good to be
- 28:48Speaker 1: able to think that. You know, I love people listening
- 28:52Speaker 1: to chats like this that don't normally listen to chats
- 28:57Speaker 1: like this, you know, just because you're like, oh, what
- 29:01Speaker 1: even is that?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Now.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I'm not saying anyone needs to take any kind of
- 29:04Speaker 1: action or do any kind of thing, but sometimes you think, like,
- 29:08Speaker 1: if I was listening to this and I was probably
- 29:11Speaker 1: you know, if I was a bit stuck maybe, which
- 29:14Speaker 1: I know some listeners are a bit stuck or a
- 29:16Speaker 1: bit you know, things are okay, but things are not brilliant,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and they're maybe doing things that don't work, but they
- 29:24Speaker 1: keep doing those things that don't work. Sometimes you go, fuck,
- 29:28Speaker 1: what else is there? Maybe I need to open another door,
- 29:31Speaker 1: Maybe I need to have another conversation. Maybe what I
- 29:34Speaker 1: understand is just you know, a drop of water in
- 29:38Speaker 1: an ocean of what there is to know, you know, maybe,
- 29:42Speaker 1: and maybe what I think is all of what there
- 29:44Speaker 1: is to know is hardly anything you know, and being
- 29:49Speaker 1: you know, without being ridiculously vulnerable or stupid or putting
- 29:53Speaker 1: yourself at risk, but just you know, opening these doors
- 30:00Speaker 1: that might be expansive. Where I grew up in a
- 30:05Speaker 1: you know, like we've spoken about this a lot, but
- 30:07Speaker 1: I grew up in a very you know, constrictive framework
- 30:10Speaker 1: and ideology. And I grew up in what I call
- 30:13Speaker 1: a thought cult, where you have to think this way.
- 30:16Speaker 1: In our thought cult happened to be religious, but it
- 30:18Speaker 1: could have been anything, could have been any kind of group. Right.
- 30:23Speaker 1: But then, and then what happens is when you grow
- 30:25Speaker 1: up in this cult, that cult, that cult, that cult.
- 30:28Speaker 1: And we've all been in cults. We don't think we have,
- 30:30Speaker 1: but we've all been in uh, you know, either spiritual, religious, cultural, sociological, sporting, professional, corporate,
- 30:40Speaker 1: like they're all cults in that's worst and controlled and
- 30:44Speaker 1: manipulated to think a certain way and be a certain way.
- 30:48Speaker 1: That's the price of membership. And then when one day
- 30:52Speaker 1: you get a bit, you know, you put on your
- 30:53Speaker 1: big boy pants or your big girl pants and you go,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't think that, what about this?
- 31:00Speaker 1: What about what about I don't agree? Oh god, what
- 31:05Speaker 1: about even better? I don't know? And it's okay that
- 31:10Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:12Speaker 2: The problem is that most most people are driven from
- 31:15Speaker 2: a place of belonging and acceptance. So opening up these
- 31:18Speaker 2: doors is quite a confrontational thing sometimes because you can't
- 31:24Speaker 2: unsee what you see now. Once you're tap into this place,
- 31:28Speaker 2: you can't undersee it. And sometimes for some people it's
- 31:32Speaker 2: better to stay in the matrix, so to speak, and
- 31:35Speaker 2: actually open up the door. And that again, because it
- 31:37Speaker 2: takes a lot of It takes one hundred percent accountability
- 31:40Speaker 2: for your life. You can no longer be a victim
- 31:43Speaker 2: of life or blame other people or you know, circumstances
- 31:48Speaker 2: of dictating to me and my behavior and all that
- 31:51Speaker 2: kind of stuff. It is a radical shift one eighty
- 31:55Speaker 2: in the way that you actually experience life in itself.
- 32:01Speaker 1: And I feel like it's it's getting harder and harder.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Well for me, it's getting harder to talk about taking
- 32:09Speaker 1: absolute ownership of your choices and your behaviors and your outcomes,
- 32:13Speaker 1: because when you talk about to me, that's just something
- 32:15Speaker 1: very logical and practical, and you know, it's like, well,
- 32:19Speaker 1: you know, like, for example, generally, when my life's gone
- 32:22Speaker 1: shit or part of it's gone shit, at the very
- 32:24Speaker 1: least I had something to do with it, you know.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Most of the time, like when I was out of shape.
- 32:30Speaker 1: That was all me. You know. When business went good
- 32:33Speaker 1: or bad, that was me. A few other variables, but
- 32:37Speaker 1: mostly me, because I was the captain of the ship.
- 32:39Speaker 1: When a relationship went great or shit, that was at
- 32:42Speaker 1: least fifty percent me, you know. And I just think
- 32:46Speaker 1: that that without self loathing and without you know, throwing
- 32:55Speaker 1: hate at anyone else, just being able to say, look
- 33:00Speaker 1: where I am, Some of that's me, some of that's
- 33:03Speaker 1: not me. There are extraneous variables that I can't control,
- 33:06Speaker 1: that's okay. But in terms of where I am and
- 33:09Speaker 1: who I want to be and how I want to
- 33:10Speaker 1: be moving forward. One what's working and not working on
- 33:15Speaker 1: planet me? And two what's in my control? What's in
- 33:19Speaker 1: what's not in my control? As Donald Trump is, the
- 33:21Speaker 1: government is the genetics I was born with. Is what
- 33:24Speaker 1: happened last week? What that person thinks, what what the
- 33:28Speaker 1: you know? All that shit's not But what I can
- 33:30Speaker 1: do is despite all that other shit, I can ask
- 33:34Speaker 1: better questions, do better things, create better outcomes, be brave,
- 33:37Speaker 1: be resilient by choice.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Well, and this is the power of the work that
- 33:41Speaker 2: you know people like you when I do. Is that
- 33:44Speaker 2: we talked about this break of the day about the
- 33:45Speaker 2: twelve steps to enlightenment. You know you are here and
- 33:49Speaker 2: iditate these twelve steps to get to a version of
- 33:51Speaker 2: you sometime in the future that when you get there,
- 33:53Speaker 2: that you will be happy in that place. It's never
- 33:55Speaker 2: going to happen no ever. And by the right questioning,
- 34:01Speaker 2: you can actually reveal to people their true self. Like
- 34:03Speaker 2: people say, well, how do you do this, It's like, well,
- 34:05Speaker 2: let's just picture a lamp like and a lamp shade.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Like.
- 34:09Speaker 2: All I'm doing is removing the lamp shade. The light
- 34:11Speaker 2: was already turned on, was already there. I'm just taking
- 34:13Speaker 2: the lamp shade off. Yes, and then from that point
- 34:17Speaker 2: of you are the light. You then take action from
- 34:19Speaker 2: that place. But too many people are upsetsed. We'll give
- 34:21Speaker 2: me a process, give me a system, give me a tool,
- 34:23Speaker 2: give me something to do to get to somewhere, and
- 34:26Speaker 2: that's then created. You were creating more trauma on that
- 34:28Speaker 2: stage because you're just going round and around the circle,
- 34:30Speaker 2: because you're always externalizing it. Again, then you're always saying that,
- 34:34Speaker 2: you know, I need to become someone because right who
- 34:37Speaker 2: I am right now is not good enough. And we'll
- 34:40Speaker 2: actually you know where you are right now might be perfect,
- 34:43Speaker 2: but where you're.
- 34:43Speaker 1: At, Yes, and what about the story that we have
- 34:47Speaker 1: greg that when I have this and earn that, known
- 34:50Speaker 1: that and look like that and build that and get that,
- 34:53Speaker 1: then I'll be good.
- 34:55Speaker 2: How many people do you know when they get there
- 34:57Speaker 2: there it doesn't feel anything.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Everyone everyone like, I've said this before, but how many
- 35:04Speaker 1: people do you think in my life I've gotten not
- 35:07Speaker 1: I've gotten working with me, they have gotten themselves in
- 35:12Speaker 1: great shape. I mean fucking thousands of people that came
- 35:16Speaker 1: to me. Now. The one thing that everybody has in
- 35:19Speaker 1: common when they come see me is they want to change.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Nobody goes, here's a thousand bucks. I want to look
- 35:24Speaker 1: the same or be the same, right or whatever it
- 35:26Speaker 1: is is not but you know, and then so they're
- 35:31Speaker 1: at the start line and we go, okay, why are
- 35:34Speaker 1: you here? What do you want to do? What do
- 35:35Speaker 1: you want to change? What's working? Telling about your food,
- 35:37Speaker 1: telling me about your exercise, telling me about your lifestyle? Cool,
- 35:39Speaker 1: what are your goals? And then we get clear on
- 35:42Speaker 1: that and we go, right now, let's create a plan
- 35:44Speaker 1: around those goals. And then we get there and they
- 35:47Speaker 1: never say, oh, I'm good now, thanks, see you mate, Right,
- 35:52Speaker 1: because it's like it's never you know, there's a level
- 35:57Speaker 1: of satisfaction, but that is generally short lived. And this
- 36:01Speaker 1: was the same with me because I was very externally focused,
- 36:05Speaker 1: I was very fearful, I was very insecure. I got
- 36:09Speaker 1: my sense of self and self worth and validation through
- 36:13Speaker 1: what people thought of my body because I was the
- 36:16Speaker 1: fat kid who got fucking shit canned, and then I
- 36:20Speaker 1: was the fit, lean, strong, athletic kid who got lots
- 36:23Speaker 1: of approval. So the lesson for me was, oh wow,
- 36:26Speaker 1: things are a lot better when I look like this.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Now imagine if I could look like this plus twenty percent,
- 36:33Speaker 1: life will be heaven, you know. And then so you'd
- 36:37Speaker 1: learn these bad lessons understandably. Also, by the way, just
- 36:41Speaker 1: take a look on Instagram or Facebook or any of
- 36:44Speaker 1: those TikTok Like, if you're young and beautiful, you're getting
- 36:47Speaker 1: rewarded in a way, but that sets you up for
- 36:51Speaker 1: pain over the long term because you know the dose
- 36:55Speaker 1: that used to give you that great feeling, and the
- 36:58Speaker 1: dose was one hundred likes, Well, now you need a
- 37:01Speaker 1: thousand likes to get the same response. Now you need
- 37:04Speaker 1: five thousand. Now you're getting ten thousand, and you're fucking
- 37:07Speaker 1: miserable because you've desensitized, you don putman in response, right,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and now you're never happy, and now you've got an
- 37:14Speaker 1: eating disorder on now you've got some OCD issue or
- 37:17Speaker 1: now And yes, I know that's also genetic, but we
- 37:21Speaker 1: just open this door wider and wider where we try
- 37:23Speaker 1: and resolve internal issues with external stuff.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and that internal drivers never solved, right, So it's
- 37:33Speaker 2: this hungry dragon that needs to be fed all the time.
- 37:36Speaker 2: And the funny thing is that people get addicted to it.
- 37:39Speaker 2: They get addicted to the insecurity version. People talk about
- 37:43Speaker 2: tell your story, Tell your story. I know a coach here,
- 37:46Speaker 2: you know, Australia, and she's got a pretty she's a
- 37:50Speaker 2: very very good coach. Every time she gets on stage,
- 37:52Speaker 2: she talks about this version of her, right, she always
- 37:56Speaker 2: talks about it. Now it's so intertwined into her story
- 38:01Speaker 2: that she can never heal from it, right because it's
- 38:04Speaker 2: driving her success right without the story? And who is
- 38:09Speaker 2: she rather than just letting her, let's say, her skills
- 38:14Speaker 2: and success stories speak for themselves, is to keep driving
- 38:20Speaker 2: the other story?
- 38:22Speaker 1: And so, did do you think that in some ways
- 38:24Speaker 1: some people need to kind of keep fanning the flames
- 38:27Speaker 1: of that identity.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Completely in that space, that she'll never be happy either,
- 38:32Speaker 2: like she's constantly driving that yeah, incredibly successful coach in
- 38:37Speaker 2: the millions of dollars per year space. Yes, incredibly credibly driven,
- 38:43Speaker 2: but incredibly unhappy. Can't hold a relationship down.
- 38:46Speaker 1: All right, let's put the handbrake on and let's high
- 38:51Speaker 1: five each other and let's do a left turn. Release
- 38:56Speaker 1: the handbrake. I want to talk about. So I hadn't
- 38:59Speaker 1: seen you for a long time, probably more than a year, right,
- 39:03Speaker 1: I don't.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Know, probably twelbot's Yeah, yeah, and I saw you.
- 39:07Speaker 1: We've texted, we've texted. I mean, we stay in much, right,
- 39:11Speaker 1: but we see a fair bit of each other, and
- 39:13Speaker 1: you know, now reconnected and we have to anyway, so
- 39:17Speaker 1: be as vulnerable as you want, or you know, I
- 39:20Speaker 1: feel like you're going to be vulnerable. But so the
- 39:22Speaker 1: other day you and I sat down and straight away
- 39:27Speaker 1: before we'd really chatted, and I didn't tell you this.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I knew that you were different. You didn't go I'm different.
- 39:33Speaker 1: You didn't I'm like Greek's different, and you know, so
- 39:36Speaker 1: that intuition, that awareness, and it's like you like you
- 39:40Speaker 1: sat down I went, oh, some shit's happened. I wonder
- 39:44Speaker 1: what the shit is? You know, It's like we were
- 39:46Speaker 1: twelve seconds in. I'm like, Greek's different. So there's that,
- 39:49Speaker 1: and I knew that straight away. I didn't know what
- 39:51Speaker 1: the difference was. But you, like, I looked at you
- 39:58Speaker 1: and you were okay. So I'm going to tell you
- 40:01Speaker 1: what I saw. And you and I haven't spoken about this,
- 40:04Speaker 1: so I could be completely wrong, but firstly, you seemed
- 40:07Speaker 1: happier than maybe I've ever seen you. Not a life
- 40:11Speaker 1: without problems or challenges, but you just seemed in yourself happier.
- 40:16Speaker 1: You seemed compared to a version of you that I
- 40:19Speaker 1: had known, lighter and like less heaviness, and like perhaps
- 40:27Speaker 1: more clarity and like almost this is the word that
- 40:31Speaker 1: comes to mind, like relieved of something. Right, That's all.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That's what I got from you. And I went how
- 40:40Speaker 1: are you? And you basically went, I'm fucking great. And
- 40:44Speaker 1: it wasn't like a pretend I'm great. Yeah, it's like, no,
- 40:48Speaker 1: I'm great now, not to say everything's going great, because
- 40:55Speaker 1: everything isn't going great, and in fact, there are challenges.
- 40:59Speaker 1: And I I just spoke to your beautiful wife and
- 41:02Speaker 1: nessa before we start. And she's got a few challenges
- 41:04Speaker 1: that you may or may not want to talk about,
- 41:06Speaker 1: but she's very brave and dealing with some hard ship.
- 41:09Speaker 1: And you as a family and her and you two
- 41:11Speaker 1: as a couple. And you said when we first met,
- 41:13Speaker 1: things were, you know, on the rocks a little bit.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But you said something like, and I'll shut up after
- 41:20Speaker 1: this and you take up. The last three years have
- 41:23Speaker 1: been the hardest of my life and the best of
- 41:25Speaker 1: my life something like that.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it was literally to the edge and looking over
- 41:32Speaker 2: the edge.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Of the abyss And what took you to the edge?
- 41:39Speaker 2: One was trying to redefine my business. I've been trying
- 41:41Speaker 2: to get rid of this whole psychic stuff for a
- 41:42Speaker 2: long time. It's trying to get through that and restart,
- 41:45Speaker 2: you know, the leadership business, and that that's been a
- 41:49Speaker 2: hard slog because I've said, people saw see you as
- 41:52Speaker 2: a certain thing. So's that's been difficult. Dropped sixty grand
- 41:56Speaker 2: on the marketing agency with not one leads. That was
- 41:59Speaker 2: an interesting stop experience in itself. But on top of
- 42:02Speaker 2: all that, as you mentioned before, like unless I say Verdigo,
- 42:05Speaker 2: like really bad Verdigo for you know, for three years
- 42:08Speaker 2: three years plus were a point where she can't get
- 42:10Speaker 2: out of bed. And if anyone's had vertigo, it's not
- 42:13Speaker 2: like you can just watch Netflix. Yes, like you're you're
- 42:18Speaker 2: literally can't do anything, and the whole room is spinning
- 42:22Speaker 2: around and spinning around and spinning around. And it's is
- 42:26Speaker 2: a horrible, horrible experience because it's you just want it
- 42:31Speaker 2: to stop and it doesn't. And then you there's medication
- 42:34Speaker 2: you can take, and that that doesn't help. Sometimes we
- 42:37Speaker 2: go on some really bad antipsychotics which then has other
- 42:40Speaker 2: effects as well too. It's it's a complete ship show.
- 42:45Speaker 2: And so you've got that where you know your wife's
- 42:49Speaker 2: can only just lie in bed. I will not lie
- 42:51Speaker 2: but sit up in bed. And they're not sleeping either
- 42:54Speaker 2: because you're not sleeping. And then I've got a business
- 42:59Speaker 2: to run. We've got three young children, so you've got
- 43:02Speaker 2: that schooling, sports parties. And then you've got to also
- 43:06Speaker 2: understand that you've got to maintain some kind of you know,
- 43:11Speaker 2: you've got to maintain it together for your kids. You
- 43:13Speaker 2: can't let you you can't let your kids see this
- 43:15Speaker 2: is breaking every part of you. And to see your
- 43:18Speaker 2: partner in such a place breaks your heart as well too,
- 43:21Speaker 2: because she is everything to me, like she is my
- 43:25Speaker 2: life and so on my kids, and to see you
- 43:29Speaker 2: go through that, it was it's a horrible experience. And
- 43:34Speaker 2: you know, there are times there where it got really
- 43:36Speaker 2: really really bad, like you know, I want to end
- 43:41Speaker 2: at all, just because it just to make the vertigo stop.
- 43:45Speaker 2: And that was two or three times. We're just like,
- 43:49Speaker 2: we're not doing this, We're not doing this, and.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Can I interrupt? Just did you that I don't want
- 43:57Speaker 1: to be here? Did you and her chat about that?
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, because I got that bad that, you know,
- 44:04Speaker 2: how do you make a stop? And then on top
- 44:07Speaker 2: of it, it's like, well, I'm having no value to
- 44:08Speaker 2: the family. Everyone's I'm just I'm just I'm here and
- 44:10Speaker 2: I'm dragging everybody down. And you know, the kids are
- 44:14Speaker 2: seeing a certain thing with mums in bed and it's
- 44:17Speaker 2: not She has to be like it can't function. You
- 44:20Speaker 2: literally can't do anything. Having a shower is literally that's
- 44:26Speaker 2: a that's a task in itself, right, Yeah, And you know,
- 44:31Speaker 2: the new neurologists and all that kind of stuff don't
- 44:32Speaker 2: really have much of an idea how to fix it.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Trying multiple different things to try, and you know, diets, hormones,
- 44:39Speaker 2: different treatments. We've been that many different diets, different experts
- 44:44Speaker 2: that many different hormonial people, and not having an answer
- 44:49Speaker 2: is probably one of the worst things as well too,
- 44:51Speaker 2: Like if you've got if you've got something, and you've
- 44:53Speaker 2: got an answer, and go do this and you'll get better.
- 44:56Speaker 2: You're with that. But they sit there and have no
- 44:58Speaker 2: answer and try just trying things to see if they
- 45:00Speaker 2: work was literally, you know, just horrible. So so it
- 45:07Speaker 2: was stressful beyond all imagination. And then you usually got
- 45:12Speaker 2: three kids there you're going to maintain that focus for
- 45:15Speaker 2: and that you're going to maintain a happy household. And
- 45:18Speaker 2: I was well, I said, the other days, I found
- 45:23Speaker 2: parts of myself I never knew existed. Like we went
- 45:27Speaker 2: to the darkest of darker places, and we've come through
- 45:31Speaker 2: in a way that I am extremely proud of, extremely
- 45:37Speaker 2: proud of the people that we are and who we are,
- 45:39Speaker 2: and we're not we're not perfect. We still screw things
- 45:42Speaker 2: up and we still have our days and look like
- 45:45Speaker 2: we spoke to it for she's so much better, so
- 45:47Speaker 2: much better, Yes, But it took us to go to
- 45:49Speaker 2: some places that were quite dark and deal with some
- 45:52Speaker 2: shit as well too about our own behaviors, our own past,
- 45:55Speaker 2: because the Verdica was also love it someone's stress related
- 45:58Speaker 2: as well too, So so there's a multity of different
- 46:02Speaker 2: things we actually did, but the connection we've got through
- 46:06Speaker 2: that experience is unbreakable now, like we people these days
- 46:12Speaker 2: walk at the first side of any kind of difficulty
- 46:15Speaker 2: in the relationship, like we went and looked over the
- 46:19Speaker 2: edge and came back, and I'm so proud of that,
- 46:25Speaker 2: But that wouldn't have been possible without understanding some of
- 46:29Speaker 2: the stuff that I've learned, like together.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Tell me in relation to that, you know it is.
- 46:37Speaker 1: It's funny too because I think people, some people, I
- 46:41Speaker 1: should say, don't understand how completely sold destroying and debilitating
- 46:47Speaker 1: Bertiego can be. Because even with and we don't wish
- 46:51Speaker 1: cancer on anyone in cancer is horrible, but at least
- 46:54Speaker 1: with that you go, well, this is the treatment protocol.
- 46:56Speaker 1: We're doing this and you know, which is still it's
- 46:59Speaker 1: obvious a horrible, terrible disease, but at least you know,
- 47:04Speaker 1: and it's.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Like and you can function as well, Like you sit there,
- 47:08Speaker 2: you can put on Netflix and have you chemotherapy, right, yeah,
- 47:11Speaker 2: you can't do any of that, stopping it to go.
- 47:13Speaker 2: There's not a functioning at all at.
- 47:15Speaker 1: All, and probably a bad example everyone. I apologize, but
- 47:19Speaker 1: on the probably but her mum's had cancer three times
- 47:23Speaker 1: and she's still here, God bless her. But I think
- 47:25Speaker 1: on top of that, like you said, when you go, okay,
- 47:28Speaker 1: so there's this problem, and you talk to a range
- 47:31Speaker 1: of different experts, you know, and they're all kind of
- 47:37Speaker 1: experts in their field, and no one really knows, and
- 47:41Speaker 1: when they go, well, we'll see how I mean, and
- 47:44Speaker 1: that's not their fault, you know, but it's like essentially
- 47:48Speaker 1: educated guessing, and then well that didn't work. We'll try
- 47:52Speaker 1: that didn't work either, And even you know, three years
- 47:54Speaker 1: down the track now, and I spoke with her just
- 47:57Speaker 1: before we started recording, and like you said, I was
- 48:00Speaker 1: good this morning and then I went out and now
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'm a bit ship. I've got verdigo again. But you know,
- 48:05Speaker 1: it's not as bad as it was, but it's still
- 48:08Speaker 1: still very debilitating and limiting in that you know when
- 48:12Speaker 1: it you know, when it takes over, well, you don't
- 48:15Speaker 1: have a lot of say.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. The other day is like I sort of
- 48:22Speaker 2: just put this down. I went, Okay, right, I'm in
- 48:25Speaker 2: this situation and I've drawn this into into my existence
- 48:29Speaker 2: for a reason. This is where we go spiritual woo woo.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Soide of the world is that I'm ready. That's why am
- 48:35Speaker 2: I creating this experience? Why is but there's the creating
- 48:37Speaker 2: this experience for me? Why is she sacrificing this aspect
- 48:41Speaker 2: of herself for my life? What is she doing? And
- 48:45Speaker 2: I went, let's see how how hard you can step up?
- 48:48Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Let's see what kind of man you could be. Now,
- 48:52Speaker 2: let's give you the hardest thing I'll ever ever encounter
- 48:55Speaker 2: and see how you how you deal with it.
- 48:58Speaker 1: So when your your wife is essentially and the person
- 49:01Speaker 1: you love most in the world is kind of in
- 49:06Speaker 1: a way not operational, she can't really do anything for herself.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I mean that respectfully. And also thinking about if I
- 49:17Speaker 1: can just say it openly suicide, right, which obviously she
- 49:22Speaker 1: doesn't want and you don't want, right, I mean that,
- 49:25Speaker 1: it doesn't get much darker than those two variables. Right,
- 49:30Speaker 1: How how do you And then like you said, three
- 49:34Speaker 1: kids and we've got school, and we've got food, and
- 49:36Speaker 1: then we've also you know, emotional and psychological needs for
- 49:40Speaker 1: those kids too, and getting everyone showered, ready for bed,
- 49:43Speaker 1: and all of the myriad and then you're going to
- 49:46Speaker 1: go make some money, Greg, because you know, the fucking
- 49:48Speaker 1: the hell. Sometimes I think my life's hard, which it
- 49:52Speaker 1: never is, by the way, but I'll just think about you.
- 49:57Speaker 1: What did you learn about you? And what did you
- 50:00Speaker 1: hold on to? And what did you let go of?
- 50:02Speaker 1: If those questions?
- 50:05Speaker 2: I am so grateful that I actually invested in myself
- 50:08Speaker 2: all days years ago. That's probably the first thing. I
- 50:11Speaker 2: am so lucky, and I'm so grateful that I come
- 50:14Speaker 2: across some very very cool people and I heavily invested,
- 50:18Speaker 2: not like two hundred bucks like this, are the hundreds
- 50:20Speaker 2: of thousands of dollars over the last twenty eighth years.
- 50:23Speaker 2: There's a really key programs about human behavior. I'm one
- 50:27Speaker 2: so grateful for that that I actually did that. Two
- 50:32Speaker 2: would I learn that by myself I can overcome anything.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And the most important thing to me in my life
- 50:39Speaker 2: is my family, m Above everything else. I will die
- 50:43Speaker 2: for that. M Wow. And what did I let go of?
- 50:50Speaker 2: Probably a number of masks keep talking, probably the you
- 50:56Speaker 2: know the the like I'm a pretty look you know
- 51:01Speaker 2: me I'm pretty guarded. I don't show a lot. I'm
- 51:05Speaker 2: I'm I kick to myself and I'm not one to
- 51:13Speaker 2: sort of jump from jump on Instagram and look at me,
- 51:15Speaker 2: Look how good I am. And you know, here's my breakfast,
- 51:18Speaker 2: and here's my six pack, and you know, here's here's
- 51:21Speaker 2: my whatever lifestyle and here's my business class trip to
- 51:24Speaker 2: wherever I'm going. Because I need to show you that stuff.
- 51:29Speaker 2: I think I just became, you know, generally centered and
- 51:36Speaker 2: happy and content. In the moment of sheer shitness, I
- 51:42Speaker 2: was in the middle of complete darkness and I was
- 51:46Speaker 2: completely okay.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Good, I groover. As you probably figured it out by now,
- 51:50Speaker 1: But this chap with Greg I went way longer than
- 51:55Speaker 1: I thought it was going to. I really enjoyed it.
- 52:00Speaker 1: I enjoy most of the chats, but I really enjoyed
- 52:02Speaker 1: this chat. I hope you're enjoying it too. I think
- 52:04Speaker 1: it gets better in the second half. I'll be back tomorrow.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Will be back tomorrow with part two. See then,
