Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: So are you on the dating apps currently right now, Megan?
- 0:08Speaker 2: No, absolutely not.
- 0:10Speaker 1: If Gabe or myself write you a dating bio that
- 0:16Speaker 1: you deem worthy.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Would you consider reactivating the dating apps?
- 0:22Speaker 4: Because I think Gabe and I have some ideas for you.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I'll consider it if something's worthy.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:29Speaker 5: I think this is time for one of these.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:35Speaker 6: Now, I have compiled a dating bio that I think
- 0:37Speaker 6: Megan would actually like.
- 0:38Speaker 5: I am playing the woman, not the game.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 0:41Speaker 5: You know what I mean? You know, it's like in poker.
- 0:43Speaker 5: You play the man, not the cards.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Sure.
- 0:45Speaker 5: I am playing the woman, not the profile. Perfect.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Let's hear what you got. And hopefully mine is better.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Because I like to win.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Go ahead, Gabe.
- 0:52Speaker 6: Because normally I would put together something for you, Megan,
- 0:55Speaker 6: that's really just hilarious.
- 0:57Speaker 5: And funny.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You're not going funny today?
- 0:59Speaker 5: And good for the radio. But I'm actually going to
- 1:01Speaker 5: do one that you might use.
- 1:02Speaker 2: A solid.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Let's hear it.
- 1:04Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:04Speaker 6: Here would be my dating profile for our Megan, whom
- 1:06Speaker 6: we love to death. I'm looking for someone who can
- 1:09Speaker 6: hold a conversation longer than, hey. I may talk for
- 1:13Speaker 6: a living, but I would appreciate full sentences while texting
- 1:15Speaker 6: or even better, talking in person. I might be the
- 1:19Speaker 6: only person you swipe right who would enjoy spending a
- 1:22Speaker 6: day getting coffee and then a thrift store date.
- 1:24Speaker 5: See, I'm financially responsible.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Oh, I love that.
- 1:27Speaker 6: I know. I have a full-time job, my own money,
- 1:31Speaker 6: and zero patience for you up texts.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:35Speaker 6: I'm going to reply with, nope, I'm asleep. Try again
- 1:39Speaker 6: when you're offering dinner and a personality.
- 1:40Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Swipe right if you're emotionally available, financially stable, and can
- 1:46Speaker 6: put your phone down at dinner. Swipe left if you
- 1:49Speaker 6: just got out of something and are simply looking for
- 1:51Speaker 6: a 1 a.m.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Buddy situation.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:55Speaker 6: P.S., I'm a proud dog mom, and I know it's
- 1:58Speaker 6: annoying when girls say, be prepared to rank below my dogs. So,
- 2:02Speaker 6: I'm just looking for someone who can share first place
- 2:04Speaker 6: with my fur babies.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Wow, okay.
- 2:07Speaker 2: That was actually pretty solid.
- 2:08Speaker 5: That was actually really impressive. That's actually kind of cute.
- 2:10Speaker 2: That is actually pretty much me right there.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I'm actually very surprised. Why do you know Megan so well?
- 2:16Speaker 4: I don't like this. Okay.
- 2:19Speaker 2: What did you?
- 2:20Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I'm really.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Angie, I can't wait to hear yours, though.
- 2:23Speaker 4: You should not be thrilled.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:25Speaker 4: No, here is.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I went a lighter route, I think. I kept it
- 2:31Speaker 1: a little shorter. Here's my dating bio for Megan.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I'm Megan.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I'm a baddie.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And I'm dating as exploration for the possibility of marriage.
- 2:44Speaker 1: As long as your frontal lobe is fully formed and
- 2:47Speaker 1: you want to walk down the aisle at some point,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm open to chatting and.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Then some wink, wink, nudge, nudge. You know what I'm
- 2:55Speaker 4: talking about.
- 2:56Speaker 5: I don't. What are you talking about?
- 2:57Speaker 6: Holding hands.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Going out to dinner also.
- 3:01Speaker 1: If your mind went somewhere else, loves it, and you're
- 3:04Speaker 1: my kind of guy.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Also, must love dogs.
- 3:08Speaker 5: That's actually great.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Okay, I kind of love both of them, I'm not
- 3:10Speaker 3: going to lie. So one is on one dating app
- 3:12Speaker 3: and the other is on the other dating app.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Oh, there we go.
- 3:15Speaker 3: To see which one, like, what kind of possibilities are
- 3:20Speaker 3: out there, right?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Also, based on those, if you heard these bios and thought,
- 3:25Speaker 1: I want to date Megan, give us a call, 701.
- 3:30Speaker 5: 701-280-1987.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Which, also, let us know which dating app you think
- 3:33Speaker 6: Megan should go, not dating app, dating profile she should
- 3:36Speaker 6: go for which app.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Will one of these work on one app, one of
- 3:39Speaker 5: them on the other?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Yeah, is one more Tinder and one is more Hinge?
- 3:43Speaker 5: Yeah, or is one more FarmersOnly.com, right?
- 3:46Speaker 6: 701-280-1987.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. Celebrating life's little victories. Victory.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Every morning we practice gratitude on Big 98.7.
- 3:58Speaker 6: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:01Speaker 6: plastic jar.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Bust it out whenever someone's acting hard.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I just really needed a win, you know.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at 701-280-1987.
- 4:12Speaker 6: And Megan, do you have a little victory to get
- 4:13Speaker 6: our day started today? Get us started off on the
- 4:15Speaker 6: right foot.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I'm going to do my best.
- 4:17Speaker 3: So as we know, I moved into a house in
- 4:20Speaker 3: Horace not too long ago.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So you're trying to.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Find little pieces still for the house. And I went
- 4:25Speaker 3: and took it to a Facebook marketplace this weekend.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Oh, OK.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And I was looking for a grill and I found
- 4:33Speaker 3: the ultimate grill, picked it up yesterday. And it's like
- 4:36Speaker 3: this seven burner grill.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's got the little side grill.
- 4:42Speaker 3: As well, where you can like put the pot on,
- 4:44Speaker 3: you can cook there, but also it's got a rotisserie
- 4:47Speaker 3: that works like this whole thing. And I'm not, I
- 4:50Speaker 3: can't even like, I'm not going to say how much
- 4:51Speaker 3: I spent on this cause it wasn't much.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I felt like it was the biggest deal ever. Um,
- 4:55Speaker 2: but I was like so excited.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So I just, so you know, you're all going to
- 5:00Speaker 3: be invited over soon for some, uh, cooking and I'm
- 5:02Speaker 3: like sure to grill some vegetables and stuff for you
- 5:05Speaker 3: so don't worry but um it's gonna have plenty of
- 5:07Speaker 3: food and so it's a very me thing where I
- 5:10Speaker 3: went thrifting in a chicken marketplace and found the ultimate.
- 5:12Speaker 1: You always find the best stuff though like it'd be
- 5:16Speaker 1: different if you were thrifting and you always walked away
- 5:19Speaker 1: with trash like you always find treasure and I love.
- 5:22Speaker 6: That for you thank you the old saying someone else's
- 5:25Speaker 6: trash needs to be changed to someone else's trash is
- 5:28Speaker 6: just Megan's Yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Because she finds it all the time.
- 5:32Speaker 4: She always finds the right stuff.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I love it. Come shopping with me.
- 5:35Speaker 4: All right.
- 5:35Speaker 2: And what about you?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:37Speaker 4: I feel really proud of this.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And I have to give a big thank you, Gabe,
- 5:44Speaker 1: to your wife, Corey, because there's a dish that I make.
- 5:48Speaker 4: That the kids call it the good pasta.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Oh, I know where this is going.
- 5:53Speaker 4: It's just the way I season it, whatever. They love it.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So then you had.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Told me that Corey does this little trick where she
- 6:02Speaker 1: adds cream of mushrooms.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Yep.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Right. Into the sauce.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And so I had to get a vegan version. So
- 6:10Speaker 1: I was waiting on this package for a vegan mushroom
- 6:14Speaker 1: soup for like four days. But it finally came in
- 6:16Speaker 1: because I wanted to eat it, too. And so I
- 6:19Speaker 1: made the pasta with the cream of mushroom. And I
- 6:21Speaker 1: served it to the kiddos, and they said, this might
- 6:24Speaker 1: be better than the good pasta.
- 6:25Speaker 6: All right.
- 6:25Speaker 5: And I was.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Like, yes.
- 6:27Speaker 4: So they were very excited. There were no leftovers.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Like, these kids gorged themselves on this pasta. And so, yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 1: big thank you to your wife, Corey, for that pasta hack.
- 6:39Speaker 1: And it really is so delicious. I don't think I'll
- 6:41Speaker 1: make it different ever again.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I have to try this now. Like, guess what I'm
- 6:46Speaker 2: making this week?
- 6:47Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's funny you say that because that's exactly what
- 6:50Speaker 5: I made yesterday.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 6:51Speaker 5: Yeah, it was kind of my turn, you know?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 5: And I don't know how to make anything but that.
- 6:56Speaker 6: So that's about all I got for you. My little victory,
- 7:00Speaker 6: Kaylee starts daycare today.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Aww.
- 7:04Speaker 6: I get to go pick up Kaylee at, you know,
- 7:06Speaker 6: before noon, right before noon, and listen to her try
- 7:09Speaker 6: to explain to me how her day was.
- 7:11Speaker 5: I have a feeling she'll just be passed out the
- 7:13Speaker 5: whole car ride home.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, that's exhausting.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Yeah, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm sure mom
- 7:18Speaker 6: not thrilled.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Tears will be spilled, I'm sure.
- 7:22Speaker 5: 100%. And I'm just excited for her.
- 7:25Speaker 6: I think it's kind of cool she gets to go
- 7:26Speaker 6: meet some little baby friends and enjoy a.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Day of daycare.
- 7:30Speaker 6: And I do hope Corey has a good day at
- 7:32Speaker 6: work because she has not been there in a while.
- 7:36Speaker 6: She'll be just fine. No, I'm looking forward to it, though.
- 7:39Speaker 6: It should be fun to go pick her up and
- 7:41Speaker 6: see how that first day went. Now, one thing we
- 7:48Speaker 6: like doing here on the Big 98.7 Morning Show is
- 7:51Speaker 6: discussing whether one of those hacks you see on TikTok
- 7:56Speaker 6: is a TikTok whack or a TikTok hack.
- 8:00Speaker 5: And we have one that there's zero chance I'm trying ever. Really? Ever.
- 8:04Speaker 2: What about you, Ang?
- 8:06Speaker 4: I don't know. Give me the details again.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Okay, well, it's really simple.
- 8:09Speaker 3: It's this thing that just kind of blew up where
- 8:12Speaker 3: it's called the boiled zucchini trend or whole zucchini challenge.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Whatever you want to call it.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Basically, the first one who did this, they boiled an
- 8:23Speaker 3: entire zucchini whole.
- 8:25Speaker 2: They let it cool.
- 8:26Speaker 3: They dressed it up with some basic toppings, and they
- 8:28Speaker 3: ate it, just the whole thing, the giant vegetable, like
- 8:31Speaker 3: a giant vegetable popsicle, basically.
- 8:33Speaker 6: Okay.
- 8:34Speaker 5: Like a zucchini banana?
- 8:36Speaker 2: No, not as sweet. And that's it. That's what the
- 8:40Speaker 2: challenge is. And some people are like, oh, it's a
- 8:42Speaker 2: little too soggy. They don't like it.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But I'm like, oh, so we're eating our vegetables as
- 8:46Speaker 3: the challenge? Great.
- 8:47Speaker 2: My mom would have loved this.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 5: This is a good trick for that. You're right.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, okay. So this is the challenge?
- 8:55Speaker 4: Okay. Maybe that is the move, though.
- 8:57Speaker 1: If there are kids who aren't trying to eat their
- 9:00Speaker 1: vegetables and then you're like, Well, you're not going to.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Hear it's a TikTok trend. It's a TikTok trend to
- 9:06Speaker 4: eat a whole zucchini. And then they're like, OK, fine,
- 9:08Speaker 4: because they want to be.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I'm trying to like come up with a reason why
- 9:13Speaker 1: this would be a thing.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Like a genius mom.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 2: OK.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I mean, so would you do this with like a
- 9:19Speaker 3: giant broccoli head of broccoli?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Just boil a head of broccoli and eat it.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Is this a challenge we need to start a little TikTok?
- 9:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yes let's just do the big 98.7 broccoli challenge yeah
- 9:33Speaker 1: and see who like gloms on.
- 9:35Speaker 6: And does it broccoli i'd be down for zucchini i
- 9:38Speaker 6: don't care if you boil it i don't care if
- 9:40Speaker 6: you put it in the oven you could go out
- 9:42Speaker 6: in your backyard rub two sticks together and start a
- 9:45Speaker 6: fire and try to cook the zucchini in it your
- 9:48Speaker 6: boy's not doing it i am out no matter how
- 9:50Speaker 6: you make it what about like.
- 9:51Speaker 5: A You know, I'll pass, okay?
- 9:55Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 9:56Speaker 5: I'm just out. I have tried so hard to like zucchini. Really?
- 10:00Speaker 6: Can't do it. It's just like avocado. I've tried so hard.
- 10:04Speaker 6: You're a wild boy.
- 10:05Speaker 1: My nine-year-old, his favorite vegetable is zucchini. It used to
- 10:10Speaker 1: be broccoli. Now it's zucchini. And I'm just thrilled that
- 10:13Speaker 1: my kid has.
- 10:14Speaker 5: A favorite vegetable. Yeah, that's a good start.
- 10:16Speaker 4: But only one kid. The older one is like absolutely not.
- 10:20Speaker 6: And see, that's what's because I love broccoli. I love
- 10:22Speaker 6: like peas, carrots. I love a lot of vegetables.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Zucchini.
- 10:26Speaker 6: I am out 1000 percent. So I'm calling it a
- 10:29Speaker 6: tick tock whack.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I'm calling it a tick tock hack.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I'm going to call it a TikTok hack too because
- 10:38Speaker 3: I think that moms will find this and be like,
- 10:40Speaker 3: look at this.
- 10:40Speaker 4: You've been outnumbered. We're bringing you a boiled zucchini tomorrow.
- 10:45Speaker 5: This is Am I the Problem?
- 10:46Speaker 3: It's me.
- 10:54Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Am I the problem?
- 10:58Speaker 5: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 11:02Speaker 5: I'm hardly the problem. On Big 98.7.
- 11:06Speaker 4: We had Carmen write in to us. Hi, Big Morning Show.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I'm in a relationship and not sure how we can
- 11:13Speaker 1: move forward, but I really want to make it work.
- 11:16Speaker 1: My boyfriend and I were together for a year before
- 11:19Speaker 1: I found out that eight months in, he had basically
- 11:23Speaker 1: cheated on me. I found inappropriate chat messages with an
- 11:27Speaker 1: escort and he admitted he hooked up with her once
- 11:32Speaker 1: in Vegas.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Well, that's not basically cheating, though. That's just cheating.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Well, I think the reason she's trying to soften it
- 11:40Speaker 1: is because we broke up, but he was persistent in
- 11:43Speaker 1: winning me back and I never stopped loving him. So
- 11:47Speaker 1: we got back together three months ago. But obviously, I
- 11:51Speaker 1: still have my doubts. So yes, from time to time,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I will check his phone and I always have his
- 11:56Speaker 1: location tracked.
- 11:58Speaker 4: And he agreed to this when we got back together.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But now he gets really frustrated and even mad when
- 12:05Speaker 1: I go to check his phone. I haven't found anything
- 12:08Speaker 1: and he says nothing is going on. So I don't
- 12:11Speaker 1: see the problem. I need the peace of mind. But
- 12:14Speaker 1: now it's causing a lot of fights. Unsure what to do.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Would love any advice. Let us know what advice you
- 12:22Speaker 1: have for Carmen in this situation. 701-280-1987.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We also have this up on the Big 98.7 Facebook page.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'm curious your thoughts, Megan, because I know that you
- 12:35Speaker 1: are very.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Intolerant of cheating. So please give me your thoughts.
- 12:40Speaker 3: However, she decided, because they broke up for three months
- 12:44Speaker 3: after this happened, and then she decided to go back
- 12:47Speaker 3: to him.
- 12:47Speaker 2: So here's the thing.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You probably won't forget, but if you've forgiven, you need
- 12:53Speaker 3: to move on, and you need to believe that he
- 12:57Speaker 3: is going to become a better person, and you can't completely.
- 13:02Speaker 2: stay on you can't keep going back to.
- 13:05Speaker 1: That okay I agree with you wholeheartedly and I never
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know choose the side of the cheater however that's
- 13:12Speaker 1: where my head was at Gabe what do you think
- 13:14Speaker 1: because she did decide to work it out with him
- 13:17Speaker 1: and it's like then you can't keep bringing up the
- 13:20Speaker 1: old thing if.
- 13:20Speaker 3: You've forgiven him you need to actually forgive him because
- 13:24Speaker 3: it sounds to me that she hasn't completely because you
- 13:27Speaker 3: have to let it go you have to move on
- 13:29Speaker 3: from it.
- 13:29Speaker 6: Yeah Yeah, it doesn't sound, I mean, obviously a very
- 13:32Speaker 6: scumbag thing to do. I will say, at least this
- 13:35Speaker 6: was a professional and not, you know, Emily in accounting.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, Gabe.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Cheating is cheating.
- 13:41Speaker 5: It doesn't matter.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Professional is a crazy thing to say.
- 13:49Speaker 6: In all seriousness, it's unfair to both of them at
- 13:53Speaker 6: this point. Now, not that probably this guy deserves a ton.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Of grace, but.
- 13:56Speaker 6: It's not very fair if you're going to break up,
- 13:58Speaker 6: get back together, and then continue to hold this over
- 14:01Speaker 6: his head forever.
- 14:02Speaker 5: At that point, you should just be apart. Right?
- 14:04Speaker 4: That's what I think, too, because then, like, what fun
- 14:06Speaker 4: is that for anyone?
- 14:08Speaker 6: Yeah, he's miserable, you're miserable. And misery loves other misery,
- 14:12Speaker 6: except the rest of us.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Yeah. It's not fun to be around.
- 14:15Speaker 6: So I would say either they need to just take
- 14:17Speaker 6: a longer break, they need some more time apart than
- 14:20Speaker 6: three months, or yeah, just cut the cord and be done.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Or just be done. All right, what do you think?
- 14:24Speaker 4: What's your advice for Carmen?
- 14:26Speaker 6: 701-280-1987.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Curious how everybody takes this. Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7.
- 14:29Speaker 4: It's me, high on the.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Carmen is in a relationship.
- 14:41Speaker 1: She had been with this guy for a year and
- 14:43Speaker 1: then found out that he had cheated on her. But
- 14:48Speaker 1: when they broke up, he worked really hard to win
- 14:50Speaker 1: her back.
- 14:50Speaker 4: And so she said, okay, fine. They got back together.
- 14:53Speaker 4: But her rules were... I need to have your location
- 14:58Speaker 4: and I get to.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Check your phone whenever I want. And he said, OK, fine,
- 15:02Speaker 1: because they still wanted to be with each other.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Yeah. But now it's causing problems.
- 15:07Speaker 1: He's getting frustrated and even mad whenever she's trying to
- 15:10Speaker 1: check his phone.
- 15:11Speaker 4: And so she wants our advice. Like, what do I
- 15:13Speaker 4: do here?
- 15:14Speaker 5: How do we move forward?
- 15:15Speaker 6: Before we get to the comments and the texts, a
- 15:18Speaker 6: lot of them can be summed up with this.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I'm doing this tonight.
- 15:22Speaker 6: A little NSYNC bye-bye-bye is what we're seeing a lot of.
- 15:26Speaker 2: A thousand percent.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Because Taryn says, if you have to resort to phone checks,
- 15:31Speaker 3: your trust is gone.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Don't waste your time any further.
- 15:34Speaker 3: This will be hovering over both of your heads the
- 15:37Speaker 3: entire time together, so I'd cut your losses now. Unless
- 15:40Speaker 3: you two can get into therapy to work to build
- 15:41Speaker 3: that trust.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Back, but Oh, yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Therapy is always a good answer, but just so few
- 15:46Speaker 1: people ever want to take that risk, right?
- 15:48Speaker 6: That's a very dude go-to to, like, get back with someone. Like, oh,
- 15:52Speaker 6: I'll go to therapy with you. They say it, but.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Hey, I've been in that boat.
- 15:57Speaker 1: We went to therapy one time, and then he didn't
- 15:59Speaker 1: do the homework assignment.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Kayla out of Horace said he cheated.
- 16:04Speaker 6: You gave him a second chance and the phone checks
- 16:06Speaker 6: were his deal to get you back. He doesn't get
- 16:09Speaker 6: to change the rules just because he's annoyed.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Nothing to hide. Nothing to be mad about. Oh, how funny.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Tiana and Glendon also on the same tip.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The second he agreed to her stipulations to get back together,
- 16:22Speaker 1: he gave up.
- 16:23Speaker 4: The right to get ticked off over it. And I
- 16:26Speaker 4: hope he hears this.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Oh, all right.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Oh, Darlene says, you will never trust him again. And
- 16:32Speaker 2: it shows.
- 16:33Speaker 3: What he did was 100% wrong. And honestly, there's a
- 16:35Speaker 3: 50-50 chance he'll do it again. I don't know the
- 16:38Speaker 3: basis of your relationship during that time, though. When you
- 16:41Speaker 3: decide to forgive someone for something that involves trust, you
- 16:43Speaker 3: can't continuously put them out like that. You either try
- 16:46Speaker 3: and trust them first, to let them build or you don't.
- 16:49Speaker 3: And the relationship is 100% done.
- 16:51Speaker 4: That's where, yeah, that's where I stand.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I think, girl, either you stop or you have to
- 16:57Speaker 1: let it go.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Like you have to break up.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Because holding it over his head forever, if you chose
- 17:01Speaker 1: to get back with him, like, honey bunny, you gotta.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Let it go.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Three months wasn't long enough of a break, in my opinion.
- 17:08Speaker 6: They should have almost done like a full year and
- 17:11Speaker 6: really came back as two completely different people.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe.
- 17:14Speaker 5: If they were going to come back.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So I think the two things here, it's either bye-bye-bye
- 17:19Speaker 1: or let it go.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Let it go.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Yeah. Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. Don't you tell
- 17:24Speaker 5: me you're full, just eat it.
- 17:26Speaker 6: We're going to take a little trip down memory lane
- 17:30Speaker 6: this morning. I feel like, you know, every family. had
- 17:34Speaker 6: that restaurant that you went to for everyone's birthday, Father's Day,
- 17:39Speaker 6: Mother's Day, Indigenous People's Day. You were just there celebrating
- 17:45Speaker 6: for whatever reason. Lo and behold, I don't know if
- 17:48Speaker 6: the kids know this growing up, but it was probably
- 17:50Speaker 6: just because that was the restaurant where mom and dad
- 17:52Speaker 6: could find something that the kids all liked and they
- 17:55Speaker 6: weren't sitting there fighting over where to go.
- 17:56Speaker 5: That's right.
- 17:57Speaker 6: That's how it got started with my family growing up
- 17:59Speaker 6: in Minneapolis with Old Country Steak Buffet. Tough to complain
- 18:05Speaker 6: about a meal when there's all the meals there.
- 18:08Speaker 4: That was your celebration restaurant.
- 18:10Speaker 5: That is where we went to for birthdays.
- 18:13Speaker 6: That's where we went to the first time after I
- 18:15Speaker 6: got arrested for the first time.
- 18:18Speaker 5: What?
- 18:19Speaker 2: That's a celebration.
- 18:20Speaker 5: We did do that, actually.
- 18:21Speaker 6: The first time I ever got in big trouble was
- 18:25Speaker 6: with my buddy Sam, and it just involved some graffiti.
- 18:29Speaker 6: It wasn't like we didn't hurt anybody or whatever. But
- 18:31Speaker 6: we got in trouble, and later that night, we were
- 18:33Speaker 6: at Old Country Steak Buffet.
- 18:36Speaker 4: That is crazy.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Here's mine. I would have been grounded for, like, months.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 6: No, I was in big, giant trouble, but my parents
- 18:44Speaker 6: had already decided they weren't making anything. It's your last
- 18:51Speaker 6: meal before.
- 18:52Speaker 1: 701-280-1987.
- 18:53Speaker 6: What was your family's go-to celebration restaurant for whatever the
- 18:57Speaker 6: celebration was?
- 18:58Speaker 5: Let us know this morning. Did you two have one?
- 19:00Speaker 3: Oh, most definitely. So I grew up just north of
- 19:03Speaker 3: Detroit Lakes. So Bonanza was definitely a big one around there.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And I see a few people put that. But for us,
- 19:12Speaker 3: it was a lot of the times Chinese dragon. Best
- 19:14Speaker 3: Chinese food around there. But here was the thing. So
- 19:18Speaker 3: that was like everybody. We loved it, everything. My youngest
- 19:20Speaker 3: brother was always so picky about everything. but he had
- 19:23Speaker 3: to have a cheeseburger and cottage cheese because he didn't
- 19:26Speaker 3: like his fries because he didn't like fries back then
- 19:29Speaker 3: as a child. I'm sorry.
- 19:31Speaker 4: So how would you guys finagle that at Chinese?
- 19:34Speaker 3: So for some reason, so my parents would get like
- 19:36Speaker 3: pick up a McDonald's cheeseburger or something and they would
- 19:38Speaker 3: let them bring, cause he was a child and they
- 19:40Speaker 3: didn't have it.
- 19:41Speaker 2: And then for some reason they've still would allow him
- 19:43Speaker 2: to then bring it.
- 19:44Speaker 5: They wanted him quiet in there while everyone else was
- 19:46Speaker 5: spending money. I know.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I'm like, quit ruining this for the rest of us.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I want my Chinese food.
- 19:51Speaker 4: That's so funny.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I didn't have a celebration restaurant per se growing up,
- 19:56Speaker 1: but I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. So any
- 19:59Speaker 1: celebration thing was like, you know, spin the wheel in
- 20:02Speaker 1: which buffet are we going to at which casino.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Never like on the strip casinos.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Always the off the.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Strip ones with the cheaper buffet.
- 20:12Speaker 4: But I didn't hate that growing up.
- 20:14Speaker 5: You went to the buffets on the stripe instead of
- 20:16Speaker 5: the strip.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I was at Arizona Charlie's. Have you ever heard of
- 20:20Speaker 4: Arizona Charlie's? Probably not.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 20:23Speaker 6: It's funny you said bonanza, Megan, because Sarah said bonanza,
- 20:27Speaker 6: which meant dad.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Got a raise.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Right?
- 20:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I love it.
- 20:31Speaker 6: I love this one from Susan. She said, we went
- 20:33Speaker 6: to Red Lobster or Olive Garden for my kids' birthdays.
- 20:36Speaker 6: I was working at the restaurant while I was pregnant
- 20:39Speaker 6: with them. To this day, surf and turf is my
- 20:42Speaker 6: eldest son's favorite food and spaghetti my youngest.
- 20:45Speaker 5: I ate on the job a lot. I love it.
- 20:48Speaker 6: You know, when you get a discount, absolutely. One thousand percent.
- 20:52Speaker 6: We had Ramsey who said American Steak Buffet. It's kind
- 20:55Speaker 6: of interesting. It's always a buffet.
- 20:57Speaker 4: You get a lot of bang for your buck.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Lisa said Red Lobster and that like my kids always
- 21:03Speaker 1: thought Red Lobster was fine dining.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Oh, that's what I thought.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
- 21:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 4: I mean, for all intents and purposes. Yes. So Red
- 21:10Speaker 4: Lobster was the celebration restaurant.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Okay, Tammy has my heart.
- 21:13Speaker 3: She's like country kitchen, which was the first serving job
- 21:17Speaker 3: I ever had was at a country kitchen.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Ah, you were serving up celebration meals.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I love this. Probably not to Tammy, but maybe somebody else.
- 21:25Speaker 6: A little trip down memory lane right there. 701-280-1987 if
- 21:27Speaker 6: you had a celebration restaurant growing up.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Well, Gabe and I every Monday, so today will be
- 21:35Speaker 1: no different. Our celebration restaurant is Casa Mexico.
- 21:38Speaker 5: That's right. Yeah.
- 21:40Speaker 6: No one celebrates the start of the work week like
- 21:42Speaker 6: Big 98.7 for lunch.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Drop it, drop it.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Big 98.7.
- 21:46Speaker 5: I need some coffee. Starting off the day with something good.
- 21:52Speaker 5: This is Gabe's Good News on Big 98.7.
- 21:57Speaker 6: Fargo is stepping up to help with the nationwide blood shortage.
- 22:01Speaker 6: The Red Cross says there's a big need right now
- 22:04Speaker 6: for B-negative blood and type O blood. Last Thursday, a
- 22:08Speaker 6: few dozen people stopped by the Vitalant Bloodmobile in Fargo
- 22:12Speaker 6: to roll up their sleeves and donate. And if you
- 22:15Speaker 6: wanted to help, you've got two chances now. This week,
- 22:18Speaker 6: Vitalin is hosting blood drives tomorrow at Sanford's health on Broadway.
- 22:23Speaker 6: And again, on Thursday at border States electric in Fargo,
- 22:27Speaker 6: it's a very simple way to do something really great
- 22:29Speaker 6: for somebody in need. I have a grandma who had
- 22:32Speaker 6: donated like gallons, gallons and gallons and gallons.
- 22:36Speaker 1: It's one of the simplest ways to really help out
- 22:39Speaker 1: and make a huge impact.
- 22:40Speaker 4: And I am always an advocate for donating blood.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Plus, you get, like, snacks and juice afterwards, so win-win.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Yeah, super win-win.
- 22:48Speaker 6: The cookies and juice are definitely a nice touch at
- 22:50Speaker 6: the end. Yeah, I think I've donated seven times, so
- 22:53Speaker 6: one more would be eight. Yes.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Thank you for doing math.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Seven plus one, eight.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Simple math.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Okay, before you two get after me.
- 23:01Speaker 5: For me here.
- 23:01Speaker 6: I'm trying to do some math. I think eight donations
- 23:04Speaker 6: is what, like four quarts or something? I'd have to
- 23:06Speaker 6: double check. Someone do the math for me and send
- 23:08Speaker 6: it to me. It's 701.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Jeepers.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Cripes.
- 23:11Speaker 6: A guy can't even do a good thing without getting
- 23:13Speaker 6: attacked on his math skills here on Big 98.7. Unlike
- 23:17Speaker 6: these two today. Don't forget, the world is full of
- 23:20Speaker 6: nice people. And if you can't find one, you gotta
- 23:22Speaker 6: be one. There's two people who could really learn that
- 23:24Speaker 6: this morning. Also, broken crayons. Also, broken crayons.
- 23:29Speaker 5: They still color.
