Today, RÚV English Radio is in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Skaftárstofa (https://www.vatnajokulsthjodgardur.is/en/areas/lakagigar/skaftarstofa1) is the Vatnajökull National Park visitor centre, located near Kirkjubæjarklaustur on route one. It serves also as an information centre for the municipality of Skaftárhreppur. The facility sits in a beautiful new building, and is a great place to stop and learn more about the Vatnajökull glacier, and the wider area.
