“Behold, your reward will be great in heaven!” - Readings for 9/9/26

Food for the Journey Classics · Sep 9, 2026 · 13m

Today’s Gospel includes the Beatitudes. Jesus tells us that suffering in this life will lead to blessings in the next. We must remember that we are not made for this world. We can’t try to set up a permanent dwelling here. We are pilgrims. This is not our lasting home. Our lasting home is heaven.

Sr. Ann reflects on today’s readings:

1 Corinthians 7:25-31

Psalm 45:11-12, 14-15, 16-17

Luke 6:20-26
