- 0:00Speaker 1: Please welcome here, all right, Scotty Kam the Block one
- 0:04Speaker 1: of the biggest shows on TV, Hay and it comes
- 0:06Speaker 1: back well every year, and then it's back and then
- 0:10Speaker 1: Scotty Cam's hosting it. And can you tell that he's
- 0:12Speaker 1: not quite ready because I'm talking crab.
- 0:14Speaker 2: He loves me trying to get him. I'm pretty sure
- 0:16Speaker 2: he's been hosting the Block for seventeen years.
- 0:19Speaker 1: That whole time.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Well, he was really love it.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Jamie Jury host a bit. Scotty was still there, right,
- 0:25Speaker 4: He's always been there, and then he became a host.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Was not here now.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I actually have friends who went on the Block and
- 0:32Speaker 2: they yes, and they said it well, and I think, yeah,
- 0:38Speaker 2: Rach and Ryan, Yeah, they went on the Block, and
- 0:41Speaker 2: I think, I don't think people realize how hard it is,
- 0:45Speaker 2: Like you think it's like this TV show and they
- 0:47Speaker 2: get to go back to their cushy hotels at nighttime
- 0:50Speaker 2: and sleep. It's they are slumming it and it's always
- 0:53Speaker 2: down in Melbourne and it's always freezing cold and they
- 0:58Speaker 2: have to do like a lot of the time it's winter.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Okay, But I want to know about these friends because
- 1:02Speaker 1: I know that couple. Yeah, what did they get out
- 1:04Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Yeah, well did they win money?
- 1:06Speaker 5: No?
- 1:06Speaker 2: They remember that season where there was two couples that
- 1:09Speaker 2: got nothing. Yeah, and then I think, yeah, they were
- 1:12Speaker 2: on that season and I think they got like seventy
- 1:15Speaker 2: ninety K and they.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Were all even to kick and the teeth.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Well not really.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Because they both had to give up their jobs for
- 1:21Speaker 2: three months, leave their three children for three months. And
- 1:23Speaker 2: they were doing it because they thought, you know, they
- 1:25Speaker 2: were going to earn life changing money that were going
- 1:27Speaker 2: to get them ahead and for not even one of their.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Saturday what about their career? But like are they getting deals?
- 1:34Speaker 2: And I mean they were for a little bit, but
- 1:36Speaker 2: I think as the next season starts, people.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Forget about them.
- 1:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Okay, So what you're saying is it's not worth going
- 1:42Speaker 1: on the block.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Well sometimes, but you don't know, that's right, And then
- 1:46Speaker 2: the year after people were winning like one point five mil.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's still something you tell people though, like your grandkids
- 1:52Speaker 1: television was that thing.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I do enjoy it though. I love a renovation show. Yeah,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and I'm excited.
- 1:58Speaker 4: The Block is by far the best. You can't beat it,
- 2:02Speaker 4: and I'm.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Really good Scottie.
- 2:03Speaker 6: But why aren't you on?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Oh? I was trying to fill the show.
- 2:08Speaker 3: You keep drawing attention to the fact that he's not on.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I just called him. Oh you called him directs.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we're supposed to go through the TV, but I
- 2:18Speaker 2: just got him.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Scotty can we've got your mobile number, you're live on air.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 2:22Speaker 5: Hell the hell did you get my mobile?
- 2:25Speaker 1: We have everyone we're right calling Peter Overton from Channel
- 2:29Speaker 1: nine as well. He didn't pick up.
- 2:31Speaker 3: No, he did pick up and then he hung up
- 2:33Speaker 3: on you.
- 2:33Speaker 5: Yes, okay, I just say if you call me again
- 2:37Speaker 5: on my mobile. The SWAT team locked the door down.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Just blocked the number after this, Scotty, Well, we've really.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Topped up to your show mate, So welcome along.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:46Speaker 2: We've done a lot of talking about the block, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm actually really excited because this year's blocks, you've got
- 2:52Speaker 2: the contestants are going to build, and they're going to
- 2:54Speaker 2: have water views, aren't they.
- 2:56Speaker 5: You're going to have water views. It's going to be fantastic.
- 2:59Speaker 5: And views of the in the distance as well.
- 3:01Speaker 6: Wow.
- 3:01Speaker 5: So right on Portfield Mantaalizer and it's a really beautiful
- 3:05Speaker 5: seaside little town. It's got everything you need. Fremeston's next
- 3:09Speaker 5: door with all the big wallies and all that sort
- 3:11Speaker 5: of stuff, you know, all the big stuff, and you've
- 3:13Speaker 5: got the nice little little mount of eyes. There were
- 3:15Speaker 5: beautiful beaches. I lived there for three months when I'm
- 3:18Speaker 5: doing it, and you know, so I really love the town.
- 3:22Speaker 4: So yeah, we did a Kiss Kiss event at Frankston.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Feels like years ago, but I probably last months ago. Yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 4: I loved it there.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Hey man, are you the type like you're a carpenter?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Are you the type that's like when nothing's finished in
- 3:36Speaker 1: your house? Like I remember growing up there was a
- 3:39Speaker 1: house behind us, Yeah, that had it concrete, it had
- 3:42Speaker 1: not painted it. I reckon for twenty years, right, are you?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Are you an unfinished kind of goal?
- 3:47Speaker 2: It's like the whole saying with the people like the Sparkys,
- 3:50Speaker 2: the electricians. They've always got lights out in the house
- 3:52Speaker 2: and the really good chef never cooks at home. I've
- 3:55Speaker 2: got a house in our street. He's a builder and
- 3:57Speaker 2: he's been renovating his house for about six years now.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Is that you two mate?
- 4:01Speaker 5: It used to be me I was like that when
- 4:04Speaker 5: my kids are little. My wife, you know, she put up.
- 4:07Speaker 5: We renovated every house that we lived in a couple
- 4:09Speaker 5: of times over sometimes I knocked the house down and
- 4:12Speaker 5: we lived in amountables for one year on site. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 5: that was a good one for my wife.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Down a very patient.
- 4:19Speaker 5: We're in our sixties now and so I make sure
- 4:23Speaker 5: everything's neat and tidy for her. There's nothing unfinished anhymoll
- 4:26Speaker 5: these days?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Are you in your dream home?
- 4:28Speaker 5: Now?
- 4:28Speaker 1: You're in your sixties and you're a big TV star?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Is it your forever home? Is it everything you wanted
- 4:33Speaker 1: it to be?
- 4:34Speaker 5: Look, you know, it's not the house I've built. I've
- 4:36Speaker 5: renovated this house, but the house before was the house
- 4:39Speaker 5: I built from scratch, and that was sort of our
- 4:43Speaker 5: forever home. But for me, there's no forever heard and
- 4:46Speaker 5: my wife sort of understands that. That she she thought
- 4:49Speaker 5: she was in her forever home. And then I came
- 4:51Speaker 5: home and said I sold the house. I bought another one,
- 4:55Speaker 5: consulting her.
- 4:58Speaker 1: All right, Hey, why are you there?
- 4:59Speaker 5: Mate?
- 5:00Speaker 1: We want to do the Hubby Hotline with Scotty cam
- 5:02Speaker 1: o case. So do you need husband advice, a DIY projects,
- 5:06Speaker 1: some tips? Shit, we can do relationship help mate. You've
- 5:10Speaker 1: been married for a while, like you were saying, yes,
- 5:12Speaker 1: so marriage all right? Well, our Hobby Hotline is open
- 5:15Speaker 1: thirteen one oh sixty five. Any Hubby question you got
- 5:19Speaker 1: for Scotty Cam, you'll hang around?
- 5:21Speaker 5: Okay, mate, thank you guys, Good on.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You all right, Hubby Hotline on thirty one oh six five.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Let's do it with Scotty Cam. Here on kids, Scottiecam
- 5:34Speaker 1: is joining us. We are doing the Hubby Hotline. The
- 5:36Speaker 1: block returns Sunday, seven pm on nine and nine. Now
- 5:40Speaker 1: we are super excited, mate, big TV show and everyone's
- 5:44Speaker 1: going to be watching.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I was thinking about this, like Hubby Hotline, being able
- 5:47Speaker 4: to call scott Cam and just to ask whatever question.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Remember when I was building my house there were so
- 5:52Speaker 4: many times with contracts and just all this stuff, like
- 5:56Speaker 4: you wish you had someone you could just call and
- 5:58Speaker 4: ask questions.
- 5:59Speaker 1: We got to now, Scotty, you'd be the person.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Guy. It sounds like a good business. I'm going to
- 6:04Speaker 5: kick this off.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, good, let's start with Milly Millie. You're on with Scotty.
- 6:09Speaker 1: What's your question?
- 6:11Speaker 6: Hey guys, Hey Scotty, not so much to see iy hi,
- 6:15Speaker 6: But look I work late, and a lot of nights
- 6:18Speaker 6: I leave dinner up to my husband and I come
- 6:21Speaker 6: home and it's always the same packet stuff or takeaway.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Is there a good go to.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Easy meal that like a simple.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Man can make?
- 6:30Speaker 5: Are you suggesting I'm a simple man? Look what come on?
- 6:36Speaker 5: Oh mate? Can Candy do a spag bolt? Or you know?
- 6:41Speaker 5: Like I like a good passages with just tomatoes and
- 6:44Speaker 5: and things like that. You know what. I just bought
- 6:46Speaker 5: a book called Eat like a Sardinian is so simple.
- 6:51Speaker 5: It's a great book. I love cooking and so buying
- 6:55Speaker 5: that book. And I've got no commission on this.
- 6:59Speaker 1: So you can cook, Scotty.
- 7:01Speaker 5: I can cook. I'm not mad at cooking. And I
- 7:04Speaker 5: sort of build kitchens for my wife, but I'd sort
- 7:06Speaker 5: of build them for myself as well, you know, because
- 7:09Speaker 5: I like to have all a few little commercial touches,
- 7:12Speaker 5: you know, big beef spaces and giant cutting boards and
- 7:15Speaker 5: things like that.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Have you got all that stuff, Scotty?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Have you got into this meat smoking trend? Like my
- 7:20Speaker 2: husband's got a smoker and he loves smoking meat.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I do that up the far. I've got to farm
- 7:26Speaker 5: up the bunkey. And I've got a big diesel tank
- 7:29Speaker 5: oven that I built out of an old diesel tank. Ye,
- 7:32Speaker 5: And it's a smoker as well, so I can smoke
- 7:35Speaker 5: everything in there, and I do chickens and potatoes. You
- 7:39Speaker 5: can even smoke salt smoking salts.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Say man out there smoking up the meaty Brooklyn loves it.
- 7:49Speaker 5: I do love open fire cooking as well, Bush, I
- 7:54Speaker 5: do do a lot of.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Well, let's get off the cook and have we got
- 7:56Speaker 1: another question for the Hubby hotline, Sammy, go.
- 7:59Speaker 3: For it, Hi, Scotty, I have a question. I have
- 8:04Speaker 3: a two story house and my husband is adamant that
- 8:08Speaker 3: we can use our spare bedroom upstairs as a home gym.
- 8:13Speaker 3: My thing is, I'm worried the weights are going to
- 8:15Speaker 3: go through the roof. I'm trying to convince him we
- 8:17Speaker 3: can use the garage, but he's saying, no, one, not
- 8:20Speaker 3: the bedroom upstairs.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Well, firstly, I think the weights are going to go
- 8:23Speaker 5: through the flooring from downstairs the floor. Yeah. So well,
- 8:36Speaker 5: look that's a very good point. Depending on how old
- 8:39Speaker 5: your house is and how what the floor joists and
- 8:42Speaker 5: everything are on the on the first floor, what what
- 8:45Speaker 5: the framework is like. And I would suggest that you
- 8:48Speaker 5: get someone to take a look at that. By chance
- 8:51Speaker 5: you'd have a man hold downstairs to get into that
- 8:53Speaker 5: space and you'll be able to see what sort of
- 8:56Speaker 5: kimber their views, whether it's laminated beams or just if
- 8:59Speaker 5: it's a very old it might be just like a
- 9:01Speaker 5: sixty two hardwood and worst case it might be just
- 9:05Speaker 5: an Oregon so which is timber. And but you know,
- 9:08Speaker 5: you need to probably just have a bit of a
- 9:10Speaker 5: look at that. And I agree with you that if
- 9:13Speaker 5: you're doing big weights and is your husband a big
- 9:16Speaker 5: unit he's living the big stuff he is, Yes, he's
- 9:21Speaker 5: a bit.
- 9:22Speaker 4: I'd be worried about that too.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd put him in the garage for sure.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but I got a problem with that. I wonder
- 9:28Speaker 1: if Scotty does as well. I hate it when people
- 9:30Speaker 1: use their garage for storage and gyms instead of the cars.
- 9:33Speaker 1: What does Scotty cam think about that? Should your cars
- 9:36Speaker 1: go in the garage or you don't care?
- 9:38Speaker 5: Mate? I am a car in garage like my entire life.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Yeah, how you protect the car? Like to build another.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Room we've got. My wife's car goes in every night.
- 9:48Speaker 5: My car goes goes in every night. And that's just
- 9:53Speaker 5: you know, it's a bit of a It's not really
- 9:54Speaker 5: paincaus I like reversing my carriage I know it's.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Say yeah, yeah, yeah, So don't bloody transform into something else?
- 10:00Speaker 1: All right, We've got one more here.
- 10:02Speaker 2: All right, Ava, you're on with Scotti.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Hi, Scotty. I don't have a husband, but I have
- 10:08Speaker 7: a boyfriend, and I think that's more important. My boyfriend
- 10:13Speaker 7: is sparky, and my boyfriends are sparking, and he's really attractive.
- 10:18Speaker 7: I'm just wondering should I be worried when he goes
- 10:20Speaker 7: over to other houses where there's women and would they
- 10:26Speaker 7: beating on him?
- 10:28Speaker 5: Or I'd follow it. I'd follow it.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Does this happen?
- 10:35Speaker 6: Man? Is it?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Is it true? Like do the do all the tradees
- 10:38Speaker 1: get hit on by women in their homes? Or is
- 10:41Speaker 1: it a myth?
- 10:41Speaker 5: Well? Sometimes I'll tell you I've been I worked since
- 10:46Speaker 5: I was a kid. I had a paper run and
- 10:48Speaker 5: I had a chemist run. And when I was about
- 10:50Speaker 5: ten years old, one of my regular paper run girls,
- 10:54Speaker 5: she used to enter the door in a see through
- 10:56Speaker 5: ninety every Sunday morning when you were ten years old.
- 11:00Speaker 6: If you're.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I used to I had a sparky boyfriend when I
- 11:04Speaker 2: was like twenty two, and he's good looking. Rusa and
- 11:07Speaker 2: I used to think the same thing, like what if
- 11:09Speaker 2: there was like a horny housewife at home and my
- 11:11Speaker 2: ex would turn up who was nice to look at.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Would she just like accidentally drop her shirt?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Does it happens? It never happened, But I mean, we
- 11:23Speaker 1: needed on the record once and for all. Do tradees
- 11:26Speaker 1: get hit on by women in home? Scotti Cam?
- 11:30Speaker 5: Look, I don't think so. I think we're And also
- 11:33Speaker 5: the trades are very professional. They say thank you very much.
- 11:37Speaker 5: But you know, I've got a partner. Who is who
- 11:40Speaker 5: I'm talking to now? Which I can't remember your name? Sorry?
- 11:44Speaker 5: Who are we talking to again?
- 11:45Speaker 3: Oh?
- 11:45Speaker 2: You got We're talking to Ava Ava.
- 11:49Speaker 5: And I'm sure you're very beautiful, and I'm sure I
- 11:52Speaker 5: am beautiful. Yeah, I can sense it. You're beautiful. And
- 11:58Speaker 5: he's not getting a stray away from you.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what that is broked if I've ever
- 12:04Speaker 4: heard it right, he's got the dudes because.
- 12:07Speaker 1: There are no tradings at the Dirty Dogs. Hey, Scotty Cam,
- 12:11Speaker 1: good luck Sunday night, seven p. The Block is back
- 12:14Speaker 1: on nine and nine now we'll be watching good on
- 12:16Speaker 1: your mate.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Thanks Scotty, Sure
- 12:18Speaker 5: You guys, thanks for having me
