- 0:00Speaker 1: When I did the podcast with you all, I was
- 0:02Speaker 1: telling you probably the most impactful interview I've done in
- 0:07Speaker 1: my career. He real He wrote, I heard a shot
- 0:11Speaker 1: at Troy talk about the tags letter.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Talk about fiance.
- 0:15Speaker 3: But we talk in a language that is common to
- 0:17Speaker 3: the people, that's from the communities that we grew up on.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You all are the bright spot, thank jewership for Black Americans.
- 0:25Speaker 3: This is the knowledge that actually matters.
- 0:28Speaker 4: I've plag both of you for this.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Isn't it a country issue. It's not an American issue, It's
- 0:34Speaker 3: a world issue.
- 0:34Speaker 2: He came to Earn Leisure.
- 0:43Speaker 1: All right, guys, welcome back e y l. We are
- 0:46Speaker 1: international episode in Dubai u AE. Our good brother Daniel
- 0:53Speaker 1: King shout out to him, man, yes to him. Yes,
- 0:56Speaker 1: we did his conference from Toronto. You know, that's one
- 0:58Speaker 1: of our major hope. We get a lot of support
- 1:01Speaker 1: in Toronto. And he actually moved out here and has
- 1:04Speaker 1: been making his way meeting great people. And there was
- 1:07Speaker 1: one you know, we came out here for vacation and
- 1:09Speaker 1: wedding and not necessarily the work, but when work calls,
- 1:14Speaker 1: we're always up. But when Daniel asked us to do anything,
- 1:17Speaker 1: we have to say yes, part of our obligation.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah, he said that we have to.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You know, we've interviewed a variety of very important people
- 1:26Speaker 1: in the world, you know, head of states, vice presidents,
- 1:30Speaker 1: some of the richest people of all time. But he said,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we have to interview one of his friends in Dubai
- 1:37Speaker 1: who owns the largest water park, the largest water park
- 1:41Speaker 1: in the world.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 1:42Speaker 4: For now?
- 1:44Speaker 2: For now?
- 1:45Speaker 4: Isn't making it bigger?
- 1:48Speaker 2: Akhmed ben?
- 1:52Speaker 4: No, okay, let's do let's let's do it. Call on
- 1:57Speaker 4: your hand. Okay, I do it. I tried. I tried.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So thank you for joining us. Appreciate it, of course,
- 2:13Speaker 1: being so good. It's so good. So all right, so
- 2:16Speaker 1: walk us through like the beginnings, right as far as
- 2:19Speaker 1: how do you get to.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Own a water park? You're a Mariti, you're from.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yes'm from Dubai.
- 2:25Speaker 2: You're from Dubai. All right, well how old are you?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Okay, so the first question even before we get to
- 2:30Speaker 1: the water park thing, right, let's let's talk about you.
- 2:32Speaker 1: For people that our audience is mainly based in America.
- 2:35Speaker 1: A lot of people, a lot of people have not
- 2:36Speaker 1: been to the u A. It's an interesting country. I
- 2:38Speaker 1: think it's like ten percent of the people that's actually
- 2:40Speaker 1: in the country are from the country, right, ninety percent
- 2:44Speaker 1: come from outside the country.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yes, correct, yes, exactly so.
- 2:46Speaker 1: But you've seen transformation happen in your life in real time, right,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you're old.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Enough, you're old enough start there.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So when you when how how quickly has this turned
- 2:57Speaker 1: the corner? And like for you to actually be experienced,
- 3:00Speaker 1: to be experiencing it as a native, Like what is
- 3:03Speaker 1: it like for you to actually see the country change
- 3:05Speaker 1: right in front of your eyes?
- 3:08Speaker 4: It becomes so hard to understand anything else but the
- 3:12Speaker 4: speed and the service level and the safety we have.
- 3:15Speaker 4: The fact that we walk around a cars are unlocked,
- 3:18Speaker 4: where jeuery and watches, and that where buy anything. That
- 3:21Speaker 4: level of safety is a huge thing. It's interesting because
- 3:26Speaker 4: people think because we bring a lot of experts in
- 3:29Speaker 4: the town that we're just using them. No, think get
- 3:31Speaker 4: paid very well. We just learned from the best. The
- 3:35Speaker 4: city of Dubais run as a business and the Presidentiahammad
- 3:39Speaker 4: is the best CEO. So we dedicate the job for
- 3:41Speaker 4: a lot of very very powerful and smart people. So
- 3:45Speaker 4: and the best of it again speed, Like, if this
- 3:48Speaker 4: will work for people, let's change it all and make
- 3:50Speaker 4: it happen. So that's the whole thing. And the time
- 3:53Speaker 4: to have an idea and decide and make it happen
- 3:56Speaker 4: is pretty quick. They keep Now you're hearing Dubai right now.
- 3:59Speaker 4: And what we remember Now coming three months, you'll find
- 4:02Speaker 4: new bridges that was done. So the speed of things
- 4:05Speaker 4: are done here as much faster. We don't have like
- 4:08Speaker 4: this stick to the ship in a way works. And
- 4:12Speaker 4: again you're American. How much tax you paying? Any said it.
- 4:17Speaker 2: In your state tax? We got federal tax? So much
- 4:20Speaker 2: state tax?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Yeah? How much into do you pay tax? Isn't that stupid?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:26Speaker 4: Of course, Okay, you're paying half few months. You're working
- 4:29Speaker 4: six months of the year for free for what No safety,
- 4:33Speaker 4: no amazing education, no proper healthcare, and no lifestyle. Why
- 4:38Speaker 4: are you doing that? You have to treat you can
- 4:40Speaker 4: move when that moved, because that that's the talk gave
- 4:43Speaker 4: was like why are you staying there? Why be somewhere
- 4:46Speaker 4: you are tolerated when you can be celebrated. Why are
- 4:49Speaker 4: we wasting so much energy being worrying about all this
- 4:52Speaker 4: nonsense that you cannot worry about anymore. Raise issues and
- 4:56Speaker 4: you know, taxes in safety and so on, so when
- 4:58Speaker 4: you can just have all the energy back in you
- 4:59Speaker 4: and then you can just perform because the level of
- 5:01Speaker 4: hustles you have it's phenomenal. Imagine that hustle but with
- 5:05Speaker 4: no instructions. Imagine the level of growth you're going to
- 5:08Speaker 4: have in a much shorter span of time.
- 5:12Speaker 3: These are these are valid points man, successful love speed,
- 5:14Speaker 3: and what you're saying makes I mean, it's one hundred
- 5:17Speaker 3: percent correct.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:18Speaker 3: When you have clarity, it opens up vision to create
- 5:21Speaker 3: and be more creative. We've seen that in our careers
- 5:23Speaker 3: on a personal level and obviously on a business level.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I'm wondering when you started this wasn't was It's a
- 5:30Speaker 3: vision like I'm going to build park water parks in
- 5:33Speaker 3: flavor with parks, Like what was the original vision and
- 5:36Speaker 3: how did it get to this point.
- 5:37Speaker 4: It's a very funny question because like where we started
- 5:40Speaker 4: and where we are at now is so opposite. Like
- 5:44Speaker 4: because I had a slip desk, I can move and
- 5:46Speaker 4: walk and I was just in bed for forty one
- 5:48Speaker 4: days and all it could do is consume YouTube that
- 5:50Speaker 4: time that's almost forteen years ago, and the idea of
- 5:54Speaker 4: aqua fun I saw them videos. Oh that's awesome. And
- 5:57Speaker 4: then I was in the beach and I heard people
- 5:58Speaker 4: next to me is like, I wish there's something in
- 5:59Speaker 4: my case to do, and then I was next day,
- 6:01Speaker 4: I was in the yacht. I don't drink, I smoke
- 6:04Speaker 4: and like that thing so much. I'm just sitting there
- 6:07Speaker 4: being me dyslexic, very virtual. So I also imagine, what
- 6:10Speaker 4: if we have a slide from top to bottom. And
- 6:13Speaker 4: then those three ideas came together and then okay, let
- 6:15Speaker 4: me create this aqua fun. I started going in researching
- 6:19Speaker 4: the world and there was two companies who does this
- 6:22Speaker 4: kind of thing in the world. I spoke to both
- 6:24Speaker 4: of them, and both of them gave me so much
- 6:26Speaker 4: shit because I was I was nobody. Basically I done
- 6:30Speaker 4: it before. It's like, no, you gotta pay me this
- 6:32Speaker 4: and this and this, and you're nobody, so what the hell?
- 6:35Speaker 4: It's okay cool. So I went to China. I spent
- 6:38Speaker 4: a month there. I met forty one factories. I find
- 6:42Speaker 4: their factories. I created my own brand, a co Fun
- 6:45Speaker 4: and the first thing that is, okay, me to be
- 6:47Speaker 4: bigger than you. Did that, and then I think after
- 6:49Speaker 4: six months I got bankrupt.
- 6:53Speaker 2: HM.
- 6:53Speaker 4: That was the first bankruptcy, and for the next four
- 6:56Speaker 4: and a half years, I was in Dada's almost two
- 7:00Speaker 4: hundred and fift death just debt. Every mind I'm making
- 7:04Speaker 4: paying staff, paying debts, better suppliers, and so I'm paying
- 7:07Speaker 4: nothing to myself. And then I think on almost four
- 7:11Speaker 4: and a half years, and that's when I going back
- 7:13Speaker 4: to zero, and that's when I changed my team, change
- 7:16Speaker 4: my people, the systems and so on and so on,
- 7:17Speaker 4: as okay, let's go in now. And then I think,
- 7:22Speaker 4: so the last thirteen years, I was backrup twice, suit
- 7:26Speaker 4: twenty four times. My first year in business six hundred
- 7:29Speaker 4: and seventeen, people told me no, this idea isn't gonna work.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I was basically every single day getting two people tell
- 7:34Speaker 4: me no. Every single day. I opened the map of
- 7:37Speaker 4: the UEA, I went to every single beach honor in
- 7:39Speaker 4: the whole country as it is, no, no, no, And
- 7:43Speaker 4: then eventually now I'm the biggest operator in the world.
- 7:45Speaker 4: So the genius thing, it is one thing I just
- 7:47Speaker 4: didn't quit. I just never quit, no matter how crazy
- 7:49Speaker 4: it was.
- 7:51Speaker 3: There's a couple of genius things you did in there.
- 7:53Speaker 3: You saw who the competition was, you saw what they
- 7:57Speaker 3: were using you said, all right, let me go get
- 7:59Speaker 3: what they're using and let me go destroy them.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I founded me and I dominated it.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So basically, so what's the turning point as far as Okay,
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's a very cost extensive business as far as what
- 8:10Speaker 1: you're running, so you have to get capped. If you
- 8:12Speaker 1: were bankrupt and you had no money, you have to
- 8:14Speaker 1: have at some point in time where you have to
- 8:16Speaker 1: have a lot of money that comes in to actually
- 8:18Speaker 1: get up and up and run it.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Right, So sales, you raised, you raised money.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I said, I've never is there any single dollar all
- 8:25Speaker 4: by me? So I made the money myself. I lost
- 8:28Speaker 4: my mind myself, and then I focused on sales. Just
- 8:32Speaker 4: keep doing sales, changing things social media and changing the
- 8:37Speaker 4: way I pretend present my businesses on social media because
- 8:40Speaker 4: I understand and the end I am in the business
- 8:42Speaker 4: of creating happy memories. So basically the emotion I was
- 8:46Speaker 4: sending an emotion, emotion where people having fun, so I
- 8:48Speaker 4: to make sure I am involved in that. So I
- 8:51Speaker 4: was from the WinCE stairs getting into the water park
- 8:54Speaker 4: and then I will shoot you with my GoPro and
- 8:57Speaker 4: my drone, and I will edit the depictures and review
- 8:59Speaker 4: myself and I'll send them then. So the first followers
- 9:03Speaker 4: because of me. I was in the beach every single day.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me. So it's
- 9:07Speaker 4: very for me, very personal, very in hand. Exercise, how
- 9:14Speaker 4: many employees do you have now? Seven hundred and eighty
- 9:17Speaker 4: seven and eighty at the water park around the world?
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you said around the world, around the world.
- 9:23Speaker 2: How many water park do you have?
- 9:24Speaker 4: Thirty four?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Okay, so when you're when you're working right, what's the
- 9:29Speaker 1: scalable amount? If you've never taken any outside of investments,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you just literally just okay, so do this water park,
- 9:35Speaker 1: then the money, then rolling over there, there, rolling over there,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and then just keep it going from there.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Basically, I was like, let's make one very good. And
- 9:42Speaker 4: then because early on I went too big, too fast,
- 9:45Speaker 4: so I think we had two one park, then two
- 9:47Speaker 4: and then went to seventeen. And then when that time
- 9:50Speaker 4: we lost so much quality control, branding was bad, service
- 9:53Speaker 4: was that everything was just bad. Let's go back to
- 9:55Speaker 4: the beginnings. Do want to make it right? Systems? You
- 9:59Speaker 4: would usp is every step of the business have to
- 10:02Speaker 4: be written down and then hire the right people. Empowering
- 10:06Speaker 4: because the issue is like this whole founder syndrome is like,
- 10:09Speaker 4: I'm the funder that I can do the best. Yes
- 10:10Speaker 4: you are, but you have a scared so given letting
- 10:13Speaker 4: away my ego out of the way is okay. I'm
- 10:15Speaker 4: gonna give this person the authority and the power to
- 10:18Speaker 4: do this and give them part of this and then
- 10:22Speaker 4: see what they do. They wouldn't do a hund percent job,
- 10:24Speaker 4: but they might do sixty percent job. But then I
- 10:26Speaker 4: can be somewhere else.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Now you this is it's pretty immaculate because you think
- 10:33Speaker 3: water park, but on the service, this is an engineering
- 10:36Speaker 3: and this is a design build that you're doing. Did
- 10:39Speaker 3: you have a background or that or did you build
- 10:42Speaker 3: a tine? You did so you designed? You have no idea,
- 10:45Speaker 3: no idea.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I learned how to design, how to anchor, how to clean,
- 10:49Speaker 4: how to do even power supply connection, the straship points.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I learned diving. I learned social media everything myself because
- 10:58Speaker 4: I can his thing. Everyone have a spot for on
- 11:01Speaker 4: You have YouTube, we have Google. There's new excuse. It's
- 11:05Speaker 4: a story for everything in the world. You're just lazy.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Learn and now we have tragiguity. It's even much better.
- 11:14Speaker 4: The tools are there. We allerge but just lazy. It's content.
- 11:19Speaker 4: They love the dream of saying, Oh I want to
- 11:21Speaker 4: be this cool, do the work, do the work.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, So your YouTube, TV, YouTube and Google that's it everything.
- 11:28Speaker 3: So that that means obviously we're big on that. A
- 11:31Speaker 3: lot of people watch us on that. What are the
- 11:33Speaker 3: mistakes that you make?
- 11:34Speaker 4: Though?
- 11:34Speaker 3: Right, because if you're learning on your own, I'm not
- 11:37Speaker 3: sure if there's any mentors in the picture at this
- 11:39Speaker 3: point you're figuring things out. What are some of the
- 11:41Speaker 3: mistakes that you're making early on? Thousands of mistakes, ye
- 11:44Speaker 3: talk about those.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Oh I am the king of comebacks. I love doing mistakes.
- 11:49Speaker 4: It's the most fun thing ever because again you can
- 11:52Speaker 4: read about it, you can grow in class for it.
- 11:55Speaker 4: But nothing beats failery. Nothing beats failerity because like I
- 12:00Speaker 4: know what work form a second, because I did every
- 12:03Speaker 4: single mistake possit. You can you can do costly, very costly,
- 12:09Speaker 4: like millions of dollars of mistakes. But that's the whole thing,
- 12:12Speaker 4: Like you know, the difference, like I just didn't stop.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Otherwise I stop, it becomes a loss. So that l
- 12:17Speaker 4: could be a loss or could be a listening, specially
- 12:20Speaker 4: for me.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So let's go back to the geopolitical aspect of it.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Explain the difference with people that may not be familiar
- 12:27Speaker 1: between the UAE and America, because yet the system of
- 12:32Speaker 1: governance is different obviously from you know, when you have
- 12:34Speaker 1: a democracy with somebody votes for a president, where you
- 12:37Speaker 1: have a kingdom right and a lot of people in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the Western world have been trained to think that that
- 12:43Speaker 1: is not an efficient way to govern. You can have
- 12:47Speaker 1: a counter argument to that and say, you know, how
- 12:50Speaker 1: we look at democracy is not efficient. We just had
- 12:51Speaker 1: a government shut down. So talk about the differences as
- 12:56Speaker 1: far as government and how it's beneficial for entrepreneurs.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Each section of the the city, like say roads, resisting
- 13:09Speaker 4: and power supply, they are run as enterprises businesses, and
- 13:14Speaker 4: every year they have a competition privately owned, no governmental government,
- 13:19Speaker 4: and each year they are basically competing about who gets
- 13:22Speaker 4: the best customer happiness survey competition. And the people who
- 13:29Speaker 4: lose they get a month noticed and they get fired
- 13:33Speaker 4: if you don't fix your stuff agains. For example, I
- 13:39Speaker 4: think last month there was a power shortage in where
- 13:45Speaker 4: my house are. The government said hey, they might be
- 13:48Speaker 4: a shortage, so they get a generator outside the house
- 13:51Speaker 4: to connect the houses in case we have a shortage.
- 13:54Speaker 4: For example, that's like one more thing. You heard about
- 13:58Speaker 4: the golden in visa right to the Golden visa. Uh,
- 14:00Speaker 4: you know as an investor in the visa. Now they've
- 14:02Speaker 4: built an embassy for Golden visa holders. So if you
- 14:08Speaker 4: have a Golden visa in DUBAIU, if you have any
- 14:10Speaker 4: problem anywhere in the world, let's see you passed with
- 14:13Speaker 4: a story and they got the issue we can give you.
- 14:15Speaker 4: They give you a documentary, you can travel back to Dubai.
- 14:18Speaker 4: So you've been treated more better than your own country
- 14:21Speaker 4: in a lot of senses. Again, like the only way
- 14:27Speaker 4: for you to explain the bias to come to Dubai
- 14:30Speaker 4: because you think you're having good life. You think, so
- 14:33Speaker 4: it's not I look at the bios like Miami, but
- 14:36Speaker 4: cleaner and with no drugs and just better said, that's
- 14:41Speaker 4: the best sception Like Miami, same style, same cars, same
- 14:44Speaker 4: peoples on but like just cleaner or not drugs and
- 14:47Speaker 4: just better lifestyle and safer.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Safety is important. I think one of the things you
- 14:52Speaker 3: leverage and had vision in social media. Talk about having
- 14:56Speaker 3: a vision early on, because you're talking about fourteen years ago.
- 14:59Speaker 3: So it's really a out of Instagram and kind of
- 15:02Speaker 3: shaping the narrative of yes, Dubai tourism. But more so,
- 15:07Speaker 3: do buy family right because that's where your sweet spotty
- 15:10Speaker 3: is talk about watching that evolution over the course of
- 15:14Speaker 3: your expansion for the business.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Why business because we because we're almost the same age.
- 15:22Speaker 4: So there's a lot of guys like us who come
- 15:27Speaker 4: from nothing, you know, assessment of it, all of us,
- 15:31Speaker 4: so we didn't have the life that we have right now.
- 15:36Speaker 4: So now when we have children right now, you provide
- 15:39Speaker 4: you're over a compassing over bye because you want them
- 15:41Speaker 4: to have a hardship. So I realized that that made
- 15:44Speaker 4: the kids also leading their shopping and spending powers. And I, okay,
- 15:51Speaker 4: so why am I talking to them when I can
- 15:53Speaker 4: just talk to them and they will put the kids
- 15:55Speaker 4: and their families and they get their father and mother
- 15:57Speaker 4: who have spending power now to spend with me. And
- 16:00Speaker 4: that was the whole thing. So I made sure all
- 16:02Speaker 4: the videos are read. People haven't read fun. I think
- 16:05Speaker 4: we got four point nine stars on Google with four
- 16:08Speaker 4: thousand plus reviews. That only happens because you're good the
- 16:12Speaker 4: what you do. That's it And and why did with that?
- 16:16Speaker 4: Was something very very simple I always have to do
- 16:20Speaker 4: when you win. So okay, I saw my staff working
- 16:23Speaker 4: with the customers and my life guards, and I saw
- 16:25Speaker 4: them trying to do extragractic tips. It's ok hey, how
- 16:28Speaker 4: about this, don't get tips okay, asked the customer to
- 16:32Speaker 4: give a review for the water park and mentioning it right, okay,
- 16:37Speaker 4: And then every person who gets a review under the name,
- 16:39Speaker 4: I'll give you an amount of dollars almost ten dollars
- 16:43Speaker 4: almost And by the end of the month first month,
- 16:47Speaker 4: we've grew I think three hundred reviews. But my customers
- 16:52Speaker 4: had great service, my staff got tips, and they got
- 16:55Speaker 4: more money, and my business look better when you win.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Such as simple thing, because again, if I'm going to
- 17:03Speaker 4: buy a reviews that costs much more money, THENCE would
- 17:05Speaker 4: look like about it is really an incentive.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Talk about taxes you mentioned at the beginning, but really
- 17:11Speaker 1: break that down. That's something that's been on social media.
- 17:13Speaker 1: As far as there's no taxes in Dubai. Is there
- 17:16Speaker 1: no taxes? Is there taxes on a corporation? Like explain
- 17:21Speaker 1: that the actual.
- 17:22Speaker 4: So there's no income tax person person, no person tax,
- 17:27Speaker 4: there's no property tax, there's no photo tax. We have
- 17:32Speaker 4: five percent viity by attacks on goods five percent, and
- 17:36Speaker 4: there's a nine percent corporate tax that's on your profits
- 17:38Speaker 4: of your animal so us. Especially whereas you made a
- 17:41Speaker 4: special revenue. How much of that, how much of that
- 17:44Speaker 4: is your profit that is not percent? Listen, now, if
- 17:48Speaker 4: we compare apples and apples, the fees you pay for
- 17:52Speaker 4: certain government entities compared to what you get somewhere else
- 17:55Speaker 4: is cheaper. How much do you pay for insurance?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Health insurance?
- 17:59Speaker 4: Insurance?
- 18:00Speaker 2: Two thousand a month a month?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Look, God, for one person, me and my son, two people,
- 18:04Speaker 4: two people. Okay, that's so in a year, that's how
- 18:07Speaker 4: much twenty four okay, so for me, so three people,
- 18:12Speaker 4: I remember as well, three people will cost me around
- 18:16Speaker 4: seven hund dollars for the whole year.
- 18:17Speaker 2: For a whole year year.
- 18:19Speaker 4: But I will get private hospitals. I can walk to
- 18:22Speaker 4: any place right now, get my light tests, get a
- 18:24Speaker 4: blood test, get the X ray, get my immunication off
- 18:26Speaker 4: for free, private hostice. I don't have to wait a
- 18:30Speaker 4: month or two months for a dentist appointment in that
- 18:33Speaker 4: nonsense that's need this year, just walking again it same
- 18:37Speaker 4: day that's the one simple thing healthcare. So that's that's that's,
- 18:44Speaker 4: that's that other things like the money you might you
- 18:46Speaker 4: make staies with.
- 18:47Speaker 1: You So okay, if you're not, if you're not getting
- 18:51Speaker 1: tax revenue and you're getting free subsidies, how does that work?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Because like, if you're the government, tax is usually pays
- 19:01Speaker 1: for services.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Right suppose the government? Yes, supposedly, yeah, for sure, allegedly
- 19:08Speaker 4: allegedly that's what they're saying. Yes, you see your roads
- 19:12Speaker 4: at seeing my roads. No, that's why I'm acting.
- 19:14Speaker 1: So if there's no revenue roads, if there's no revenue
- 19:19Speaker 1: coming in from taxes, and school school is.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Free, you slip. We have two schools. They have private
- 19:29Speaker 4: schools and government schools. Private schools you pay them, but
- 19:32Speaker 4: if you compare them here in America, it's way cheaper here.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Government schools is free obviously, but there's different kind of education.
- 19:42Speaker 4: How do we make the money Because there's fees, there's service.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Fees, service fees on goods, product services. But again it's
- 19:50Speaker 1: a small country, so it's relatively regardless. That's still it
- 19:54Speaker 1: says the money managed properly when they give you know, hey,
- 20:00Speaker 1: we're doing this new bridge, this bridge is ready in
- 20:03Speaker 1: three for months, not two three years. In the same
- 20:07Speaker 1: we're building the metro in three years. Jeremy said, how
- 20:09Speaker 1: are you doing threes? Is possible nine years? It was
- 20:12Speaker 1: that in three years.
- 20:13Speaker 4: So that's the all the thing is the money is
- 20:16Speaker 4: managed properly. There's no bullshit, there's none of that. Not
- 20:18Speaker 4: since you have there is there? I mean, there's there's
- 20:22Speaker 4: two sides of that coin.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Right, Like we've watched when we talk about successfulve and speed,
- 20:26Speaker 3: that also leaves the door for error. Right, We've watched
- 20:29Speaker 3: recently other countries that had large scale projects that are
- 20:32Speaker 3: now saying that we're not gonna be able to create.
- 20:35Speaker 4: We'll leave those we'll leave their names out of it. Right,
- 20:37Speaker 4: Is it too ambitious?
- 20:39Speaker 3: And does it leave you susceptible to make mistakes that
- 20:44Speaker 3: potentially could be harmful because this is a place that
- 20:46Speaker 3: relies on tourism and people coming to invest and now live.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Does that come into the thought process anytime when you're
- 20:53Speaker 3: trying to expand.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Okay, so Dubai don't have oil. No oil, no, not
- 20:58Speaker 4: you guys. Dubai income is from tourism, important export and trading.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Just to clear it up, there's no oil in this
- 21:05Speaker 4: city whatever all it comes from, I would be the capital.
- 21:08Speaker 4: But that is the community that's different city. So the
- 21:11Speaker 4: but doesn't have that to buy. It's good in the tourism,
- 21:13Speaker 4: the trading important export, their free zones and all the stuff.
- 21:16Speaker 4: They're regular stuff. And again we have the infrastructures. Remember
- 21:20Speaker 4: coverleed days. Yes, okay, so you guys used to fight
- 21:24Speaker 4: for tissues remember remember that time that that was the time. Yes,
- 21:28Speaker 4: we used to have offers on tissues, offers, but I
- 21:33Speaker 4: think it's fire free okay. Hours for markets it was
- 21:37Speaker 4: not empty. It's nothing empty. There was never a sefe empty.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Logistics were good here. When they need to build these
- 21:46Speaker 4: hospitals for what they call them quarantine and stuff they built.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I think one of the hospitals that had eight thousand
- 21:53Speaker 4: beds was done in forty eight hours. With forty eight hours, Yes,
- 21:57Speaker 4: it was built with beds, all the machine means, nurses
- 22:01Speaker 4: and everything in forty hours. It took a big exhibition
- 22:04Speaker 4: hall and to a hospital. So that's the whole thing.
- 22:09Speaker 4: The management is different here. They have backup or a backup,
- 22:12Speaker 4: a backup. That's the difference. You know.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Real estate, Oh yes, we talk about real estate.
- 22:21Speaker 4: And powerful stuff. Dubai ui e regardless is just it's
- 22:27Speaker 4: not our stop it's just like you know what whatever
- 22:31Speaker 4: is holding you back, stop at because you need to
- 22:33Speaker 4: be part of it very quickly, because it's not slow
- 22:36Speaker 4: and down just to just go just going up. It's
- 22:38Speaker 4: just going up. Everything's going up. What's the percentage of
- 22:42Speaker 4: growth now thirty every year year on year thirty There
- 22:49Speaker 4: you go yearly twenty five percent yearly. It's it's insane.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Like I remember there was a villa our family member
- 22:58Speaker 4: was renting it, I think four years ago for one
- 23:00Speaker 4: hundred thousand. Now it's three hundred and fifty.
- 23:04Speaker 2: How is this system here?
- 23:05Speaker 1: As far as there's no mortgages right there mortgages mortgages
- 23:08Speaker 1: like America.
- 23:10Speaker 4: There's mortgages. But there's also payment terms because if you're
- 23:12Speaker 4: buying the actually, if you're buying an off plan, that's
- 23:15Speaker 4: good that because now you have no interest, you can
- 23:18Speaker 4: just pay the actually with the developer, so they just
- 23:21Speaker 4: pay payment terms until you received that. I think. Otherwise
- 23:25Speaker 4: you can pay cash directly the carepital. There's multiple ways,
- 23:28Speaker 4: but that's the best thing about So.
- 23:29Speaker 1: We're from New York, right, so I don't know if
- 23:31Speaker 1: you follow local geopolitical politics. But they got a new
- 23:36Speaker 1: mayor who's been elected. You know that, you know about that.
- 23:38Speaker 1: He's a socialist. The reason why he got elected is
- 23:41Speaker 1: because the city has become so unaffordable because the top
- 23:44Speaker 1: one percent but is doing extremely well, but ninety the
- 23:49Speaker 1: population barely surviving. So do you do you worry that
- 23:55Speaker 1: a city like Dubai can reach that level of it's
- 23:59Speaker 1: not sustainable after a certain point when every all the
- 24:01Speaker 1: billionaires from all over the world come in, but people
- 24:03Speaker 1: still need to work, right, so the workers are at
- 24:06Speaker 1: the bottom level, and then you have people that's worth
- 24:09Speaker 1: one hundred billion dollars at the top level.
- 24:12Speaker 2: That gap is so wide, yeah, that it leads to,
- 24:16Speaker 2: like you know, a not sustainable living situation.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Dubai is like an onion, and there's so many layers
- 24:24Speaker 4: and sometimes the layers on touch either. So yes, we
- 24:28Speaker 4: have I think this year we had almost ninety thousand
- 24:32Speaker 4: millionaires moved ready to Dubai, and I think twenty or
- 24:35Speaker 4: seventeen billionaires moved to Dubai already, so that space is
- 24:40Speaker 4: already packed. Good, amazing. Now nobody in the middle and low.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Now I can go right now and have dinner for
- 24:48Speaker 4: four of us and we can spend less than fifty dollars,
- 24:52Speaker 4: or we can have dinner together and spend at least
- 24:54Speaker 4: five hund dollars. So both levers are there. There is
- 24:57Speaker 4: affordable housing here. Different need more of that, but it's there,
- 25:01Speaker 4: it exists. There is ecosystems that basically all exists together
- 25:04Speaker 4: in that space. So there's levels and again it keeps it.
- 25:08Speaker 4: He's the thinking about Dubai. Dubai will show what you
- 25:11Speaker 4: are or are burned out, doesn't burn out you. Your
- 25:16Speaker 4: true class came out. If you're good, you're good. If
- 25:18Speaker 4: you're bad, now know how bad you are. So again,
- 25:22Speaker 4: this city keeps you comparitive, keeps you very strong, strong.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Thirty four water parks for now, For now, I'm gonna
- 25:30Speaker 3: have I mean, already has the largest water park in
- 25:32Speaker 3: the world. We'll have it again, and we got to
- 25:36Speaker 3: get bigger. Ninety one businesses. No, now I have nine businesses,
- 25:41Speaker 3: nine one investments, investments. I'm sorry, ninety one investments, nine businesses.
- 25:47Speaker 3: In my head, I'm thinking, how are we running operations
- 25:50Speaker 3: on the day to day? How involved are you in
- 25:52Speaker 3: or do you have CFO cmos is the structure the
- 25:55Speaker 3: same different statues.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Some I'm very up in daily things because again most
- 26:02Speaker 4: of my zoom calls are under twenty minutes. Most of
- 26:06Speaker 4: them calls with my teams intentionally, Yes, why it doesn't
- 26:10Speaker 4: take that long to understand what you want? I know
- 26:12Speaker 4: what I want. Spend many points quint to thy four,
- 26:14Speaker 4: give me point points. What's happening? Was going on? What stutions?
- 26:17Speaker 4: Do you have these problems? And then I pick from
- 26:19Speaker 4: them quickly. I wake up early in the morning, I
- 26:23Speaker 4: go to my gym, do my workhouse done, and I
- 26:25Speaker 4: go to my beach and just go see everything and
- 26:26Speaker 4: the beginning, make sure everything's done the way what we do.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Then let's go first office, second office or zoom calls.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I try to keep things all in the same geographic
- 26:36Speaker 4: space so I don't have to drive it too much.
- 26:38Speaker 4: That's what today was a bit technic, But like usually,
- 26:40Speaker 4: I do all the things in the same space. So
- 26:42Speaker 4: my businesses, offices and my penthouse all in the same space,
- 26:47Speaker 4: so don't have to move too much. Because again time
- 26:50Speaker 4: is a very big factor here, so my day is
- 26:52Speaker 4: always structured like in the tea, so there's no bullshit.
- 26:56Speaker 4: In a few ten minutes fifteen minutes late in one meeting.
- 26:59Speaker 4: I can't see meting because I can't because you over
- 27:02Speaker 4: up to somebody else. Today they had like a seven
- 27:06Speaker 4: hour shooting, so it was just like twice before hours
- 27:09Speaker 4: became seven hours. It's okay, everything else had had to
- 27:11Speaker 4: be canceled. It's very structured.
- 27:15Speaker 2: It makes sense.
- 27:16Speaker 4: But I don't have days off. I don't understand those
- 27:19Speaker 4: off like I still now. I do eighty two hundred
- 27:23Speaker 4: hours a week.
- 27:25Speaker 1: That still to talk about your branding because you're obviously
- 27:29Speaker 1: branding yourself because you aquaman on your sleeve.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you have a necklace like a rapper.
- 27:34Speaker 4: You have a necklace on like you know, so it's
- 27:37Speaker 4: all mine. It's about slight difference, slight.
- 27:42Speaker 1: So so talking you're obviously intentional about how you want
- 27:45Speaker 1: the world to see you, the image that you're putting
- 27:46Speaker 1: out there. They you're doing the show with Netflix, so
- 27:49Speaker 1: you're not like a behind the scenes guy. It doesn't
- 27:51Speaker 1: seem like that, right, talk about talk about that, Talk
- 27:54Speaker 1: about your intentionality with your branding.
- 27:56Speaker 4: You need to be very purposeful and very intentional every
- 28:00Speaker 4: single thing you do, everything you say or do anything,
- 28:03Speaker 4: because there's three differens. When people can When you meet people,
- 28:06Speaker 4: they will see you, they will smell you, they will
- 28:07Speaker 4: hear you. You need to look good, you to smell good,
- 28:11Speaker 4: and you know what you talk about. It's a very
- 28:13Speaker 4: important things. I understand the power of personal brand very
- 28:16Speaker 4: very well because again there's it gets. It creates rapport.
- 28:21Speaker 4: People know, I've seen you video somewhere, I relate to
- 28:24Speaker 4: what you said about this topic of that topic. So
- 28:26Speaker 4: it takes away that whole fluff of when you meet somebody,
- 28:30Speaker 4: people know I've seen you. I like you, especially if
- 28:33Speaker 4: you if you're authentic and if you read and you
- 28:36Speaker 4: say there are things people relate to it. You know
- 28:38Speaker 4: when you're really and when other people understand you and
- 28:41Speaker 4: wa to you very fast, So that's very important. It
- 28:44Speaker 4: brings a lot of brands together collaborations very quickly. And
- 28:49Speaker 4: again like you know, why not look good? Why not?
- 28:55Speaker 4: It's like, you know, God blesses me with like you know,
- 28:57Speaker 4: I work so hard, I got the money. We enjoy
- 28:59Speaker 4: it when I keep it in the grave with me.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Enjoy it now.
- 29:04Speaker 3: One of the things I've been educated on since being
- 29:06Speaker 3: here is this license plate situation.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Yeah, it humbling, isn't it?
- 29:12Speaker 3: Can you explain to the to the version ere the
- 29:16Speaker 3: person that hasn't heard about this, I saw the there's digits.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Now we come from a.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Place where your license plate is your license plate and
- 29:23Speaker 3: you might transfer that from because there's a cap there.
- 29:25Speaker 4: There's a totally different meeting here. Yeah, because you know
- 29:27Speaker 4: when you say out of money, there's a purpose behind it,
- 29:30Speaker 4: because okay, having a G class, okay, having faia cool,
- 29:35Speaker 4: having okay cool, But then okay, how do you show
- 29:38Speaker 4: more than I whip you? Now comes to this new
- 29:41Speaker 4: it's only this part of the world thing. It's like,
- 29:43Speaker 4: you know, plate numbers, so if it's one digital digits,
- 29:46Speaker 4: it's more expensive. So sometimes a one digit plate number,
- 29:50Speaker 4: let's say a A five for example, that one went
- 29:55Speaker 4: out for fifteen million dollars fifteen million for one digit.
- 30:00Speaker 4: You know, so that's the whole thing. You know, it
- 30:02Speaker 4: becomes an asset. It's a new category of assets to
- 30:07Speaker 4: show who you are exactly.
- 30:09Speaker 3: So when I moved to Dubai, I need to have
- 30:12Speaker 3: at least.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Let's move first, and we're talking about baby steps first time.
- 30:18Speaker 4: We're talking about a lot of no five digits.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Well, thank you for your time, Thank you for having me. Boys,
- 30:25Speaker 1: Thank you for your time. I appreciate it. My success
- 30:27Speaker 1: to you too,
