- 0:08Speaker 2: The World's a Vegetal podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Why don't I have a light on any cameras? I
- 0:21Speaker 3: don't know no talent today, so we don't know which
- 0:24Speaker 3: cameras are on. I'm thinking it's this one will buy sandwich.
- 0:29Speaker 3: He's always just decided to take time off to eat
- 0:32Speaker 3: a sandwich. Sugar was both of us wait till a
- 0:34Speaker 3: break and then we eat.
- 0:35Speaker 4: You're good, Sorry, I was finishing my sandwich.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Why don't you wait till the break. I can just
- 0:39Speaker 3: see Aldred making this call with a doctor in front
- 0:41Speaker 3: of him, saying.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Cough, hold on, I gotta talk to these guys.
- 0:45Speaker 3: This is important. Pants down as got a nice haircut, Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 3: just got it this morning.
- 0:52Speaker 5: G and L yep GNA.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Called in last week and made a statement regarding May's
- 0:57Speaker 3: fourth quarter comeback against the Ravens. I stated that they
- 0:59Speaker 3: are one of the top rated defenses in the league
- 1:02Speaker 3: as of late, to which Paul retorted that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They are not.
- 1:05Speaker 3: While I understand your role as the bad guy and
- 1:07Speaker 3: your tendency to disagree with the majority of takes. Facts
- 1:10Speaker 3: are facts, and numbers don't lie.
- 1:12Speaker 6: My thing is when Paul like misinterprets the point you're
- 1:14Speaker 6: trying to make, and then he starts arguing against the
- 1:16Speaker 6: point you weren't trying to make, and now you're like,
- 1:18Speaker 6: that's not See.
- 1:19Speaker 3: The thing I've learned over by thirty years with Paul
- 1:22Speaker 3: Perillo is that he has a lot of arguments going on.
- 1:25Speaker 3: It's a lot of takes that he's getting ready to
- 1:29Speaker 3: defend down the road, strategic and that's a lot of
- 1:34Speaker 3: what's going on with him. I see right through it.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I see right through it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:44Speaker 5: dot Com.
- 1:47Speaker 3: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Christmas Eve
- 1:52Speaker 3: here at Jillette Stadium, and the gang's all here. It'll
- 1:55Speaker 3: be Deuce and Evan and Paul and Me and Alex
- 1:57Speaker 3: later Alex and Matt and the booth. We're all here
- 2:00Speaker 3: to bring in Christmas for you and also get ready
- 2:05Speaker 3: for this matchup with the New Jersey Jets on Sunday.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Perfect.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely, I heard Evan. You pooh pooing the whole
- 2:14Speaker 3: thing that this might be a tough game. I heard
- 2:17Speaker 3: you want catch twenty two. I heard you say that
- 2:20Speaker 3: you pooh pooed it.
- 2:21Speaker 5: I'm with Evan the reason why that's your touchdown favorites.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yes, am, I am?
- 2:27Speaker 4: I My laughter didn't didn't do it enough?
- 2:30Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, come on, like what this is the
- 2:32Speaker 7: worst team in the league.
- 2:33Speaker 3: It is, but even the worst team in the league,
- 2:36Speaker 3: you know, what's the NFL. Sometimes things happen.
- 2:38Speaker 4: You don't believe that.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Like what if?
- 2:41Speaker 3: What if?
- 2:42Speaker 5: Like you know, Drake Mega's for turnovers, I don't even
- 2:46Speaker 5: think that for a team that's forced three all year,
- 2:49Speaker 5: all season.
- 2:50Speaker 7: I literally think that some something like meteor would have
- 2:55Speaker 7: to strike the state.
- 2:55Speaker 3: What everyone that has been banged up doesn't play?
- 2:58Speaker 4: Patriots win by three touchdowns?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Okay, this team is I hope right.
- 3:02Speaker 7: This team is actually terrible and I and I don't
- 3:05Speaker 7: normally say that, like I try to find reasons. I
- 3:08Speaker 7: think they've given up on this, right, and those are
- 3:11Speaker 7: two hand in hand things. But like they defensively, they're
- 3:16Speaker 7: in absolute disarray. They fired their defensive coordinator. Offensively, Brady
- 3:20Speaker 7: Cook has nothing to do with their future they're just
- 3:22Speaker 7: finishing out the string with Brady Cook as their quarterback.
- 3:26Speaker 7: This is as uninspiring of an offense as I've watched
- 3:29Speaker 7: all season long. Watching their tape over the last week,
- 3:32Speaker 7: I mean like, there's just nothing that I can come
- 3:33Speaker 7: up with to tell you that this is going to
- 3:35Speaker 7: be anything remotely worrisome for the Patriots. So I do
- 3:40Speaker 7: think it's funny that I heard I'm Paul shows a
- 3:42Speaker 7: little bit some like, you know, well, it's the holidays
- 3:46Speaker 7: and it's a weird time of year, and like, please please, That's.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Why I'm not sure that they'll score fifty, because that's
- 3:54Speaker 5: the holidays and they might have a little let down. Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 5: I'm going to take the role of Fred this week. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 5: you knowed in three tough schedule.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Bill would score fifty on this team on Sundays.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Mike Rabel might say let's call off the dots.
- 4:09Speaker 5: It might be smarter to you know, if the game
- 4:13Speaker 5: gets like that, to get some guys out and just
- 4:15Speaker 5: sort of throttle it down into a giant second half.
- 4:17Speaker 5: That would be the smart.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Thing to do.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Sure, I agreed one thing that you said, Evan that
- 4:21Speaker 3: I thought well among others, But one thing that I'm
- 4:25Speaker 3: hoping comes true is that the Jets might do things
- 4:30Speaker 3: in this game that the Patries have had trouble with
- 4:33Speaker 3: over the last few weeks, and so that it becomes
- 4:36Speaker 3: sort of a tune up game.
- 4:38Speaker 7: It's a classic tune up game for talk about that
- 4:41Speaker 7: a little bit. This is like this is like when
- 4:44Speaker 7: you know Alabama schedules like Alcorn State at the beginning
- 4:48Speaker 7: of the season, and like the result is never the question,
- 4:51Speaker 7: Like they win by seventy, right, but they feel good
- 4:54Speaker 7: about themselves off the game. You know, maybe they fix
- 4:57Speaker 7: some things in game that they haven't been going great.
- 5:00Speaker 3: That's where I want to stop. Are you able to
- 5:02Speaker 3: fix some things if the team is not putting up
- 5:04Speaker 3: a fight?
- 5:05Speaker 7: Well, I think you're able to do some of that.
- 5:07Speaker 7: I mean, this is the NFL, Like this is not
- 5:09Speaker 7: you know, we're still talking about bres Hall. We're still
- 5:12Speaker 7: talking about NFL players.
- 5:13Speaker 3: But all of a sudden, if the Patriots are stopping
- 5:15Speaker 3: the run, is that, you know real or is it? Well,
- 5:20Speaker 3: the Jets really weren't.
- 5:21Speaker 7: I think that you can you can do things and
- 5:25Speaker 7: from like almost like a muscle memory standpoint of like
- 5:29Speaker 7: we're going to play better technique, we're going to be
- 5:31Speaker 7: more physical, and that I do think can help you
- 5:35Speaker 7: come into your own a little bit. You know, I
- 5:37Speaker 7: can use the comparison of you know, the eighteen team
- 5:40Speaker 7: that beat up on the Jets and the Bills in
- 5:42Speaker 7: the last two weeks of the season, and they use
- 5:44Speaker 7: that as a launching pad into a playoff run, and
- 5:48Speaker 7: I there's not the same exact situation, but I think
- 5:51Speaker 7: that it's similar enough that in these two games. You know,
- 5:55Speaker 7: the Jets in bress Hall have can run the ball
- 5:58Speaker 7: a little bit. Their numbers aren't great, but they have
- 6:00Speaker 7: the personnel to be able to run the ball a
- 6:03Speaker 7: little bit. That's obviously been an issue for the Patriots.
- 6:06Speaker 7: And I'd say the next week. You know ve Chan plays,
- 6:09Speaker 7: you know the Dolphins have run the ball all year
- 6:11Speaker 7: pretty well.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I think next week they could get that test.
- 6:15Speaker 5: I agree, because even down the stretch here with Miami,
- 6:18Speaker 5: they've been running the ball pretty well.
- 6:20Speaker 4: He's really good.
- 6:20Speaker 5: HeSE Hall's kind of been out of the lineup a
- 6:22Speaker 5: little bit. But the eighteen analogy is a good one.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I would have been the first one to argue with
- 6:28Speaker 5: Fred then, just going back to my argumentative nature, I
- 6:32Speaker 5: would have argued with Fred, you can't learn anything with
- 6:34Speaker 5: those two games. I would still argue stubbornly admittedly that
- 6:39Speaker 5: that particular aspect was a little bit overrated. But they
- 6:44Speaker 5: went on. They got the ship righted with those two
- 6:46Speaker 5: games at the end of the year, and they went
- 6:48Speaker 5: on into the playoffs, and Sony Michelle was, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 5: a big part of the way they played in those
- 6:53Speaker 5: first two playoff games and ran the ball and ended
- 6:56Speaker 5: up winning another title that a lot of people didn't
- 6:58Speaker 5: see coming.
- 6:58Speaker 6: I like that you have an opportunity to play for
- 7:00Speaker 6: something in these last two weeks too, So I just
- 7:02Speaker 6: I think coming out of the game where maybe you
- 7:04Speaker 6: can complete the perfect road record eight to zero against
- 7:07Speaker 6: the Jets, then you can come home and you know,
- 7:09Speaker 6: maybe you're playing for the division and maybe you win
- 7:11Speaker 6: that game and you win the division.
- 7:12Speaker 1: So both of these games could result in a little celebration.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Good vibes, like feeling like you're accomplishing something, not where
- 7:19Speaker 6: you get into some of these Week eighteen games and
- 7:21Speaker 6: you're like, let's just survive, let's just hope nobody gets hurt.
- 7:23Speaker 6: I mean, I'm sure that there's an element of that
- 7:25Speaker 6: too for this team. But you know, it actually has
- 7:26Speaker 6: something to play for and when you win these games,
- 7:28Speaker 6: to have a tangible result that you can say, hey,
- 7:31Speaker 6: we're adding to what we did this season. And I
- 7:33Speaker 6: think those things are good for for momentum. And you know,
- 7:36Speaker 6: we'll see about that number one seed that that's still
- 7:37Speaker 6: on my mind too.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yeah, if your point Fred about you know, NFL and anything,
- 7:42Speaker 5: you're you're right, and you can never just say there's
- 7:45Speaker 5: no possible way. But it would have to require a
- 7:49Speaker 5: lot of Patriots help, you know, the turnovers. The one
- 7:54Speaker 5: area that the Jets are really good in is special teams.
- 7:58Speaker 5: I think they have three or four returns for touchdowns,
- 8:02Speaker 5: so allow you know, allow a kick return for a touchdown.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Kick coverage has been a little leaky to the point
- 8:08Speaker 5: where they would you know, mostly calling for touchbacks. The
- 8:11Speaker 5: other night, I think they only had two returns allowed
- 8:14Speaker 5: and out of the six or so kicks, so allow
- 8:17Speaker 5: a lower return and turn the ball over a couple
- 8:20Speaker 5: of times and fall behind and all of a sudden,
- 8:23Speaker 5: you know, the other team maybe decides, hey, we might
- 8:25Speaker 5: be able to steal one and spoil something for the Patriots.
- 8:29Speaker 5: But that would be, in my view, the only way
- 8:31Speaker 5: because if it's just a game that gets played out
- 8:34Speaker 5: normally with no turnovers, nothing, you know, outside them, I
- 8:38Speaker 5: just I can't I can't see Brady Cook. This isn't
- 8:40Speaker 5: that Brady.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's a different breed.
- 8:42Speaker 3: And the Jets pressure isn't that good. Where May is
- 8:46Speaker 3: going to have huge amounts of problem.
- 8:47Speaker 5: No, they don't get a lot of.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I mean they mix it up a lot.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Will McDonald's okay, and you know they have they have
- 8:52Speaker 6: some pieces. But you know, I think Evan said that
- 8:55Speaker 6: they're tackles, I mean, variable pointed out their tackles are
- 8:57Speaker 6: getting pretty good plays, so you know there are some challenge,
- 9:00Speaker 6: which is I think Patriots. Sounds like Tonga's got a
- 9:02Speaker 6: one to two week injury according to Ian Rappaport, so
- 9:05Speaker 6: he's likely to be out. I'm not really banking on
- 9:09Speaker 6: mill wounds being back out there, and the way he
- 9:11Speaker 6: sounded his locker yesterday, it sounds like it's.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Still a feel it out process.
- 9:15Speaker 6: So they really might have, you know, bar more dirtin
- 9:18Speaker 6: Eric Gregory, Jeremiah Farms gets promoted maybe like those I
- 9:22Speaker 6: mean they're gonna be they're gonna be scraping the barrel
- 9:24Speaker 6: with some of these guys.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Well, you know, Jets could play ball possession football and
- 9:28Speaker 3: Breest Hall slow down the game, keep the score down.
- 9:31Speaker 4: They could do that for four quarter.
- 9:33Speaker 5: If he plays, he might not even play.
- 9:36Speaker 7: They could do that to start the game, and maybe
- 9:38Speaker 7: it's a little bit closer than you want it to
- 9:40Speaker 7: be in like the first quarter, but they're not gonna
- 9:43Speaker 7: be able to sustain that. Like eventually Drake may is
- 9:46Speaker 7: gonna start scoring. And at that point, I mean, if
- 9:50Speaker 7: it was just one side of the ball with the Jets,
- 9:52Speaker 7: then I would be like, okay, Like their defense is
- 9:54Speaker 7: pretty good and you know, kind of like Cleveland.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Cleveland has a great defense.
- 9:58Speaker 7: So in the second half again Buffalo that their defense
- 10:02Speaker 7: came alive and they were able to give Josh Allen
- 10:05Speaker 7: some problems. I just I don't see on either side
- 10:08Speaker 7: of the ball, like where the real dilemmas?
- 10:10Speaker 3: All right, Well, the games in hand, So let's talk
- 10:12Speaker 3: about is Diehard at Christmas movie?
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm only kidding, I.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Said on Catshwoyne too. I had ten minutes on the Jets.
- 10:18Speaker 1: That's all.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Like it's it's one of those games that like you.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Don't really think, no, it's not a Christmas movie.
- 10:25Speaker 5: No, you don't really think it is going to be
- 10:28Speaker 5: like a tougher game closer than people think he does.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Like the Miami You can make an argument for Miami.
- 10:36Speaker 5: I don't think that's going to be either, but I
- 10:38Speaker 5: can listen to that.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I say, seventy percent of me says it's not going
- 10:41Speaker 3: to be a tough game. But there's that thirty percent
- 10:43Speaker 3: that says it's the NFL, it's a division game, it's
- 10:46Speaker 3: the Jets.
- 10:50Speaker 5: You know, if if Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor were
- 10:54Speaker 5: playing and I saw any semblance of a pulse from
- 11:02Speaker 5: the Jets defense over the last say six weeks and
- 11:07Speaker 5: Breese Hall was sort of engaged, yeah, I could say
- 11:10Speaker 5: it's the NFL. Anything could happen, blah blah blah. But
- 11:13Speaker 5: none of those things have happened. Like the Jets games
- 11:16Speaker 5: have been pretty much over pretty quickly. And Brady Cook,
- 11:22Speaker 5: I mean, I'm not this is not a disrespect to him.
- 11:24Speaker 5: I mean he's thrust into a role that he's not
- 11:26Speaker 5: ready for. He's an undrafted rookie. I think he's undrafted.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yep.
- 11:31Speaker 5: It was kind of mid in college. He wasn't a
- 11:34Speaker 5: great college quarterback at Missouri. Doesn't have a ton to
- 11:38Speaker 5: work with it. Like it's John Metchi and ad Mitchell.
- 11:41Speaker 5: There's two wide receivers. You know, Garrett Wilson's not, you know,
- 11:44Speaker 5: not playing. Breese Hall hasn't been playing. Maybe he comes
- 11:47Speaker 5: back and plays this game. I don't even think Mason
- 11:51Speaker 5: Taylor played the last game, you know, you know, kind
- 11:53Speaker 5: of a promising young tight end, rookie tight end. They
- 11:57Speaker 5: just I don't really see where they go to make
- 11:59Speaker 5: it an interesting game.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you can make the case for Miami.
- 12:02Speaker 5: And Miami has been sort of spunky and.
- 12:05Speaker 7: It takes a hit that they benched Tua finally and
- 12:09Speaker 7: it's gonna be quinn yours instead of two.
- 12:11Speaker 5: But for a half he looked all right. Now he
- 12:14Speaker 5: didn't didn't play very well in the second half.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Like a chan waddle.
- 12:18Speaker 7: Like those guys are talented players, right did The Jets
- 12:22Speaker 7: don't have any of that, Like they traded Sauce Gardner
- 12:25Speaker 7: and Quentin Williams. Garrett Wilson's not playing. Bristol doesn't want
- 12:29Speaker 7: to be there. He requested a trade and they didn't give.
- 12:31Speaker 1: It to him.
- 12:32Speaker 4: He wants out.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Uh.
- 12:34Speaker 7: Their tackles I think are building blocks, but they're not.
- 12:38Speaker 7: You don't build a team to beat the Patriots around
- 12:40Speaker 7: two young tackles.
- 12:42Speaker 5: So come in boasting you two young tackles, like, we're
- 12:45Speaker 5: gonna pull it up set because we got two good tackles.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, but I those guys.
- 12:50Speaker 7: If you're starting to talk about, like how did the
- 12:52Speaker 7: Jets pull out of this kind of messy thing? I
- 12:55Speaker 7: think Fashanu and Membu are gonna be good players.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah, but they look like two picks.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's like to your only building blocks, you know, yeah, gar.
- 13:03Speaker 5: We and unfortunately, their draft picks haven't really been a
- 13:07Speaker 5: huge problem, Like they just keep tating they've done okay
- 13:11Speaker 5: with their draft picks. You know, I'm not saying that
- 13:13Speaker 5: every one of them was a home run.
- 13:14Speaker 6: But don't they get good and then they they get.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Some good players and they don't have a good player
- 13:19Speaker 5: where it counts, and it's hard to it's hard to
- 13:22Speaker 5: overcome that.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, okay, Jets.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I don't like being disrespectful. No, all right,
- 13:29Speaker 4: I try to hype up the other teams just a
- 13:31Speaker 4: little bit.
- 13:31Speaker 3: So, as we talked about, the Patriots do have a
- 13:34Speaker 3: lot to play for. There's that perfect road record that
- 13:38Speaker 3: they'd like to keep intact. And if the Patriots win
- 13:42Speaker 3: and later on the Bills lose to the Eagles in Buffalo,
- 13:48Speaker 3: it's a four to twenty five game. The Patriots have
- 13:51Speaker 3: the AFC East. I don't think that outcome is going
- 13:55Speaker 3: to happen. I think the Bills are going to win
- 13:56Speaker 3: that game. The Eagles already, they've already Josh.
- 14:00Speaker 5: All stunned, he has already locked up. I think Buffalo
- 14:04Speaker 5: is gonna win. I'm stunned you think that.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Well, I'm being realistic here. I think the Eagles don't
- 14:09Speaker 3: have as much to play for and they're going in
- 14:12Speaker 3: the wrong direction despite having the NFC East. So I
- 14:16Speaker 3: think the Bills, you know, are you know, they got
- 14:21Speaker 3: a good draw here and a good and they're in
- 14:23Speaker 3: a good spot. I would say.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think Josh Allen missed the walk through yesterday.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Josh, he's just getting ready.
- 14:30Speaker 4: His second half against his second half against Cleveland was not.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Good because he couldn't move you see it. Yeah, the
- 14:35Speaker 5: play happened at the end of the first half, which,
- 14:37Speaker 5: by the way, another officiating a safety. Yeah, it's clearly
- 14:42Speaker 5: a safety. And I don't like I'm not like you people.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't really care who wins all these games, you people,
- 14:49Speaker 5: you know, because that the league thinks that they for
- 14:51Speaker 5: you people, that the league favors the bills. You know this,
- 14:56Speaker 5: Come on, you know that that's a bad calling.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I think I did.
- 15:01Speaker 5: So he scrambled around one of those like you know,
- 15:03Speaker 5: he was twenty yards behind the line of scrimmage and
- 15:05Speaker 5: he ended up slipping.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Right at the goal line. I didn't see that, Okay.
- 15:09Speaker 5: So he's down on the ground on the goal line
- 15:11Speaker 5: and he's trying to reach the ball out. The ball
- 15:14Speaker 5: does not go all the way out like It's just
- 15:16Speaker 5: like when you break the plane of the goal line
- 15:18Speaker 5: to score a touchdown. It's the same thing for a safety.
- 15:20Speaker 5: It has to go all the way out.
- 15:22Speaker 7: It was like the Titans guy in the super If
- 15:24Speaker 7: it breaks the plane of the goal line, it's considered
- 15:26Speaker 7: to be in the.
- 15:27Speaker 5: End zone, right, So the parity of the ball has
- 15:30Speaker 5: to be outside of the goal line. That makes sense,
- 15:32Speaker 5: And it wasn't. And they deemed that he had given
- 15:34Speaker 5: himself up.
- 15:36Speaker 1: At the one.
- 15:37Speaker 5: He didn't give.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Himself up, still making an act.
- 15:40Speaker 5: He was trying to get the ball out of the
- 15:42Speaker 5: end zone because he rightly, he smartly said oh no,
- 15:46Speaker 5: this is going to be a safety.
- 15:47Speaker 3: You never noticed that the refs hate giving up safeties. Yeah, everything,
- 15:51Speaker 3: they yes, that's a great point. Everything in their power
- 15:54Speaker 3: to not call it a safety. They do.
- 15:56Speaker 5: They should just get rid of the rule because you're right, yeah, yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 5: You know, how many times do you see intentional grounding
- 16:01Speaker 5: in the end zone and you know there's a guy
- 16:04Speaker 5: like they do, they seem very reluctant to call.
- 16:09Speaker 4: All right, I'm with you on that one.
- 16:11Speaker 7: The foot thing for Josh Allen is interesting. He did
- 16:14Speaker 7: not play like himself in the second half against Cleveland,
- 16:16Speaker 7: and the Browns to you know, stayed in the game.
- 16:19Speaker 5: As The reason why I think that's a big deal
- 16:21Speaker 5: is they were dominant before that. The first three times
- 16:25Speaker 5: they got the ball, these touchdowns, they went, you know,
- 16:27Speaker 5: that vaunted Cleveland defense, bang bang bang, and then he
- 16:31Speaker 5: got hurt and Evan's right, it was kind of a
- 16:34Speaker 5: struggle in the second half. They got some points set
- 16:37Speaker 5: up by the defense to just to do just enough
- 16:40Speaker 5: to to win. If you know, it's incredible Browns had
- 16:44Speaker 5: any semblance of an offense, they might have been able
- 16:46Speaker 5: to win that game. As tough, Like I said, he's
- 16:51Speaker 5: not I mean, in his defense, I just don't think
- 16:53Speaker 5: he's right.
- 16:54Speaker 1: It's not.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Tough team to depend on.
- 16:58Speaker 4: He makes a few plays him that well, you know, he's.
- 17:01Speaker 5: A gamer, but his arm isn't that strong. He's pretty accurate.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I think he's accurate. I don't think his arms that's wrong.
- 17:08Speaker 5: He's not a very good athlete, and I think he
- 17:11Speaker 5: kind of operates.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Like he's a really good athlete.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Yeah, and he runs around a lot and gets run
- 17:15Speaker 5: down like Greg Russo.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Just like.
- 17:19Speaker 7: There's some uh, you know, weird things to play calling
- 17:23Speaker 7: wise with the Browns, where as Joe Murray would say
- 17:26Speaker 7: a little smelly.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Yeah, well certainly that game against Tennessee. Yeah, that two
- 17:30Speaker 5: point conversion.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yeah, the two point conversion.
- 17:32Speaker 7: And then last week they had like a third and
- 17:34Speaker 7: three in the red zone and down three I think
- 17:39Speaker 7: it was, or down whatever it was, and I threw
- 17:41Speaker 7: a pass behind the line of scrimmage that lost yardage
- 17:45Speaker 7: and then they kicked the field goal on fourth down.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I think they were down six. I think it was
- 17:49Speaker 4: twenty three seventeen.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 7: I yelled at the TV and instead of like you
- 17:53Speaker 7: know what, everybody was like, whoa they had to kick
- 17:54Speaker 7: on four I'm not talking about fourth down. I'm talking
- 17:56Speaker 7: about third down, Like it's third and four and you
- 17:59Speaker 7: don't throw the ball five yards pass, you can't throw
- 18:02Speaker 7: the ball past the sticks.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I know the players.
- 18:05Speaker 1: It was weird.
- 18:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought the Browns were gonna at least I
- 18:08Speaker 5: figured the Bills would win the game. But I thought
- 18:10Speaker 5: the Browns were going to take the lead in the
- 18:12Speaker 5: second half, and then that kind of self destruction happened.
- 18:16Speaker 5: It was a little smelly, I agree.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Changes How do you feel about Josh Allen and the
- 18:20Speaker 1: Bills right now?
- 18:21Speaker 6: Like, I just watching enough of them over the years
- 18:23Speaker 6: and this last few weeks, just watching you know, what
- 18:25Speaker 6: he did here, what he did last week, and it
- 18:28Speaker 6: just and they have James Cook, so they're not completely barren,
- 18:32Speaker 6: but it just feels like they put so much on him,
- 18:34Speaker 6: and he puts so much on himself that like they're
- 18:37Speaker 6: just going to drain his life force every season until he's.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Going to be like a shell of himself in the thirties.
- 18:42Speaker 6: And then I feel like it's going to be like
- 18:43Speaker 6: l Way and he's got to learn to play from
- 18:45Speaker 6: the pocket and not run as much any you know,
- 18:47Speaker 6: Like I just I don't I say this is a
- 18:49Speaker 6: neutral fan, I'll take off my Patriots fan hat. If
- 18:52Speaker 6: I was a Bills fan, I would just be doing
- 18:53Speaker 6: what the Patriots were like, clamoring for some dynamic weapons
- 18:57Speaker 6: for this guy because and I don't even know if
- 18:59Speaker 6: it helps, because it almost seems like he's at his
- 19:01Speaker 6: best when he pulls it all on himself. But we're
- 19:04Speaker 6: seeing him start to get a little banged up. He's
- 19:06Speaker 6: getting older, Like I just it's gonna be harder for
- 19:09Speaker 6: him to continue to just take the team on his
- 19:11Speaker 6: back every single season.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I think if I was a Bills fan, yeah, I'd
- 19:14Speaker 3: be looking for more weapons, but I'd also be frustrated
- 19:18Speaker 3: with my defense, the breakdowns that they have, well.
- 19:22Speaker 7: Their defense has gotten old, and then you know they
- 19:24Speaker 7: they haven't drafted particularly well on that side of the
- 19:27Speaker 7: ball to replace some of those guys like Milano and
- 19:30Speaker 7: Hide and Employer and Tredevius White's now back after you know,
- 19:34Speaker 7: I'm trying to move on from Tredevius White. But I
- 19:37Speaker 7: do think that they've done a better job of running
- 19:40Speaker 7: the ball conventionally with count Allen being involved, which does
- 19:44Speaker 7: take a little bit off of his plate. They can
- 19:46Speaker 7: ride James Cook like they can. You know, they have
- 19:49Speaker 7: a great offensive line and they have a really good
- 19:52Speaker 7: running back, and they can they can say we're gonna
- 19:54Speaker 7: put Alan under center and we're just gonna hand it
- 19:56Speaker 7: to James Cook twenty five times and that can be
- 19:58Speaker 7: productive for them, which is not the way that it
- 20:01Speaker 7: was two or three years ago. So that should translate,
- 20:05Speaker 7: you know, to January.
- 20:06Speaker 5: They need to reset, you know, I've been talking about
- 20:09Speaker 5: that with Kansas City. I think Buffalo and I think
- 20:11Speaker 5: they did. I think they sort of sort of recalibrated
- 20:15Speaker 5: on the fly, and they've missed some Like Evan said that,
- 20:18Speaker 5: you know, some of the draft picks and just like
- 20:20Speaker 5: Christian Benford was a low round pick that really hit
- 20:23Speaker 5: for them, But they took a corner in the first
- 20:26Speaker 5: round in kyer Elam who was a colossal bust. So
- 20:29Speaker 5: that's you can't do that. And I know that you
- 20:32Speaker 5: might just look at it and say, well it evens
- 20:34Speaker 5: out in the wash. It doesn't because you needed to
- 20:39Speaker 5: have those guys. You need a first round pick to
- 20:41Speaker 5: be a good player.
- 20:41Speaker 4: That's there, Nikhil Harry, Jacoby Myers.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Right, So that's a really bad pick. Now they need
- 20:47Speaker 5: they're gonna need to find some you know, like Khalishakir.
- 20:51Speaker 5: That's a really good draft pick. I think it was
- 20:52Speaker 5: like a fifth or sixth round pick. Fourth was he
- 20:55Speaker 5: that high?
- 20:56Speaker 1: All right?
- 20:56Speaker 5: So fourth round pick, that's a really good pick. He
- 20:59Speaker 5: can't be your best receiver.
- 21:01Speaker 1: He can't.
- 21:02Speaker 5: He's not. He's not a good enough player. He's like
- 21:04Speaker 5: a three. So they're gonna need to find a way.
- 21:07Speaker 5: You can't miss with the key On Coleman pick. You
- 21:10Speaker 5: can't miss with the kyar Elum pick. This Hairston kid
- 21:13Speaker 5: this year has showing some flashes. He looks like he
- 21:16Speaker 5: can play a little bit. But Evan's right, they they've
- 21:19Speaker 5: gotten a little old. I still I still fear him,
- 21:24Speaker 5: you know, but then yeah, so but I just look
- 21:30Speaker 5: at Buffy you like you you asked the question, like
- 21:33Speaker 5: for all of these things that are wrong with Buffalo,
- 21:36Speaker 5: they're a game behind you who and everything has gone
- 21:39Speaker 5: right for you? So, like how bad are they?
- 21:41Speaker 4: Because the quarterback would be the quarterback.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Exactly exactly now. Sunday I think was as predictable as
- 21:49Speaker 5: anything they had, Like this shootout win against Tampa, this
- 21:53Speaker 5: like in the snow, like really emotional game against Cincinnati.
- 21:58Speaker 5: You know, you know, you know, smashed around that the
- 22:02Speaker 5: you know, a huge twenty one point comeback in Foxborough.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Now you're going to Cleveland. You know, you don't need
- 22:08Speaker 5: your best to beat Cleveland. I mean that's why I
- 22:11Speaker 5: know we all I think we all took Buffalo to
- 22:13Speaker 5: win the game.
- 22:13Speaker 1: In Cleveland to cover. I think we all got it right. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:17Speaker 5: I did I think it would be that close to
- 22:19Speaker 5: a loss. Probably not, but I thought that would be
- 22:22Speaker 5: one of.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Those games where you're, like, what do you do in Buffalo?
- 22:24Speaker 5: Just put them away? Yeah, because you just can't play
- 22:28Speaker 5: at that level every week. Yeah, they don't have enough
- 22:33Speaker 5: that it's going to look better than that when you're
- 22:35Speaker 5: on cruise control. You know what I'm saying. For sure,
- 22:38Speaker 5: last year, that game on Cruise Control is a ten
- 22:41Speaker 5: ten point win instead of a three point win. They've
- 22:44Speaker 5: made some weird picks, like they've missed a little bit.
- 22:47Speaker 5: The Kincaid's a good player, but it's not a needle
- 22:50Speaker 5: moving pick in the first round, you know, especially the
- 22:54Speaker 5: way that they play like they can't play them all
- 22:56Speaker 5: the time because you can't block, so like they actually
- 22:58Speaker 5: play Dawson Knox like just as much as they played
- 23:01Speaker 5: in Kaid because he's a better blocker. So like in
- 23:04Speaker 5: Kid is really a third down specialist for them or
- 23:06Speaker 5: past game specialist.
- 23:08Speaker 7: Uh, you know Max harriston their first round pick. Last
- 23:11Speaker 7: year's corner has been hurt and I was iffy on
- 23:14Speaker 7: him to begin with. We'll see what ends up happening
- 23:16Speaker 7: with it.
- 23:17Speaker 5: He's been okay since he came back. Yeah, but yeah
- 23:20Speaker 5: he missed the first whatever part of you think he's
- 23:23Speaker 5: opened the season on ir Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 7: Yeah, Paul mentioned Kyrie Illam like those are like those
- 23:28Speaker 7: are like their last like three first round picks.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Eland's been on like three or four teams like in
- 23:33Speaker 5: a short period of time.
- 23:34Speaker 1: That was a bad pick.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Well, I mean so everybody thought it was a bad
- 23:37Speaker 5: pick when they made it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that smells a little bit like the Patriots draft picks.
- 23:40Speaker 6: And you know, the late two thousands, you had a
- 23:42Speaker 6: quarterback who was able to, you know, keep you going.
- 23:44Speaker 6: I guess just the difference for me is that whereas
- 23:46Speaker 6: Brady was able to play into his forties because he
- 23:49Speaker 6: wasn't putting himself in harm's way. How long can you
- 23:52Speaker 6: expect Josh Allen to continue to be Superman? And take
- 23:55Speaker 6: the hits, and you know when the guy have it plays,
- 23:57Speaker 6: he's bowling guys.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Over him because he have a Cam new trajectory. It's
- 24:01Speaker 7: gonna people he's a much better passion than I.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Think that will allow him to to have much more long.
- 24:08Speaker 7: Term People have used the Cam Newton comparison, where like
- 24:11Speaker 7: when you are Superman and you're running as much as
- 24:13Speaker 7: he is and putting your body out in But.
- 24:16Speaker 5: I'll give you like the reason why I don't think
- 24:19Speaker 5: it's and I understand why people make the comp But
- 24:23Speaker 5: when it was twenty twenty, right, that was the COVID
- 24:26Speaker 5: year that we had Cam, he what did you think
- 24:30Speaker 5: of him as a runner that year? So that part
- 24:33Speaker 5: didn't deteriorate, but he can't throw it.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Did a little bit, do you know what I mean?
- 24:38Speaker 5: So I don't think it was as much a physical deterioration.
- 24:42Speaker 5: It's this not like the glaring weaknesses of him not
- 24:45Speaker 5: being able to throw were on full display. He was
- 24:48Speaker 5: still a runner. But when that's all you can do.
- 24:52Speaker 5: And as Evan just alluded to, what I agree with
- 24:54Speaker 5: Evan just said, he wasn't like Lamar Jackson as a runner.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Was it was amit Newton in the prime runner.
- 25:00Speaker 5: He was a physical runner, but he wasn't running away
- 25:03Speaker 5: from people. But he couldn't throw. He wasn't accurate enough.
- 25:07Speaker 7: Yeah, Cam in the open field with Carolina and with
- 25:09Speaker 7: Auburn was something.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Differential to play for Auburn.
- 25:14Speaker 9: Uh.
- 25:15Speaker 5: I can't even remember who it was against, but we
- 25:17Speaker 5: were I remember we were in San Diego.
- 25:19Speaker 1: This is how vividly I remember it.
- 25:20Speaker 5: We were in San Diego watching the game on a
- 25:22Speaker 5: Saturday and he just ran away from that at the
- 25:26Speaker 5: last minute, and it was just like, man, that guy,
- 25:29Speaker 5: he's just different. You could just see he was operating
- 25:32Speaker 5: at a different level of everybody.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And this is sec football.
- 25:36Speaker 7: His season at Auburn might be one of the best
- 25:38Speaker 7: college football seasons of all time.
- 25:40Speaker 4: You know, it's it's up there, all right.
- 25:42Speaker 3: How was your Buffalo?
- 25:43Speaker 1: Thank you? I appreciate it. I appreciate that. Thank you, guys.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yeah, all right. Podcast at dot com is the email
- 25:49Speaker 3: address eight five to five pass five hundred is the
- 25:51Speaker 3: hot line. Jeremiah writes in about the Jets. He says
- 25:54Speaker 3: they're playing for the number one pick and their coach
- 25:56Speaker 3: has job security for next year, so I do not
- 25:59Speaker 3: see the Jets doing anything to even try and win
- 26:02Speaker 3: this game. I say this game is going to be
- 26:04Speaker 3: a very comfortable win.
- 26:06Speaker 5: I do too. I'm not so sure about Aaron Glenn's
- 26:11Speaker 5: he's going to be there.
- 26:11Speaker 7: Next So I did someone probably did he did he
- 26:14Speaker 7: get a vote of confidence.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I did not hear that.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I think.
- 26:18Speaker 5: I think to be a one and done you have
- 26:20Speaker 5: to have a lot of really sort of bad things happen.
- 26:24Speaker 5: We just saw it, you know here up close. I
- 26:27Speaker 5: think a lot of those kinds of things have been
- 26:29Speaker 5: happening with the Jets. I wouldn't say that he's a
- 26:31Speaker 5: guarantee to be back now. He probably will be Fred
- 26:34Speaker 5: You're right, probably probably going to be but that kind
- 26:38Speaker 5: of dysfunction generally.
- 26:40Speaker 3: You know what about Stefanski, he seems bulletproof.
- 26:44Speaker 5: I think Stefanski is a pretty good coach. Maybe just
- 26:48Speaker 5: needs to go this time. But like maybe one Kevin said,
- 26:51Speaker 5: like some snippy calls, here's a couple of games.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I mean, he's never really gotten to pick his quarterback,
- 26:57Speaker 1: has he.
- 26:57Speaker 5: I mean, like, you want to talk about a draft,
- 26:59Speaker 5: I saw this on Twitter this week, like they had
- 27:02Speaker 5: a tremendous draft with the exception of these two quarterbacks
- 27:06Speaker 5: you know kind of can't play, and it kind of
- 27:09Speaker 5: just created a controversy, like you took these two, you know,
- 27:14Speaker 5: later round guys and Gabriel and Sanders, who I don't
- 27:18Speaker 5: think either one of them is going to be the future,
- 27:20Speaker 5: and all it's done is create turmoil for you. But
- 27:24Speaker 5: you know the defensive line, Mason Graham is, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 5: looks exactly the part, like everybody thought, just a good, solid,
- 27:31Speaker 5: workman like interior defensive lineman. That the linebacker has been terrific. Yeah,
- 27:37Speaker 5: defensive is it Dylan Sampson, It's like been a good
- 27:41Speaker 5: like kind of sub backer.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, sweahing jerk and my win defensive Rookie of the Year.
- 27:45Speaker 5: Yeah, So like that, they had a really good draft.
- 27:47Speaker 5: And I know that he's not necessarily making all the
- 27:50Speaker 5: picks but the quarterback stuff. And then sort of like
- 27:54Speaker 5: I'm calling the plays. No, I'm not calling the plays now,
- 27:57Speaker 5: Tommy Reese is calling them. He's it might be time.
- 28:00Speaker 6: He still seems like the guy gets fired gets snapped
- 28:03Speaker 6: right up. That make me it doesn't even I think
- 28:05Speaker 6: he gets a second chance. He just for some reason,
- 28:07Speaker 6: and I mean I think he's done well with what
- 28:09Speaker 6: he's had, but he has respect that kind of Transcendsland
- 28:13Speaker 6: might have to coordinate again.
- 28:16Speaker 1: With Mike right away he gets me chance.
- 28:18Speaker 5: I think I think he's considered to be a reputation
- 28:21Speaker 5: pretty good offensive mine, and I just I think people
- 28:24Speaker 5: look at him and say he's been able to win
- 28:27Speaker 5: reasonably well without a quarterback, and they wonder what we
- 28:31Speaker 5: do with a quarterback. I think he's a two time
- 28:33Speaker 5: Coach of the Year.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a tough time with him as an
- 28:35Speaker 4: offensive mind.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I am not overly impressed.
- 28:38Speaker 7: I think he has a system, and I think the
- 28:41Speaker 7: system stable and sound. But like I don't watch Cleveland
- 28:44Speaker 7: games and be like, wow, what a scheme. But but
- 28:47Speaker 7: I think that their scheme is is.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Stable.
- 28:51Speaker 7: Like I think that you can put players in the quarterbacks, especially,
- 28:54Speaker 7: and it's not a cumbersome offense to run, and it's
- 28:58Speaker 7: smooth and he knows what he's doing and like all
- 29:00Speaker 7: those different types of things. But I don't think that
- 29:03Speaker 7: he's like some like unbelievable play designer where I'm like
- 29:06Speaker 7: blown away by what they're doing schematically, but they're you know,
- 29:13Speaker 7: we don't have to get too much into Cleveland, but.
- 29:15Speaker 5: You know that that Cleveland draft. I left out, so
- 29:17Speaker 5: Mason Graham, quinch On Judkins, then you know Schweisinger, Harold
- 29:21Speaker 5: Fannin yeh, and Dylan Sampson, Like I said, you know,
- 29:25Speaker 5: sort of sub running back. The two quarterbacks in there
- 29:29Speaker 5: kind of make I think they created turmoil. I might
- 29:31Speaker 5: even this is less about their ability as it is,
- 29:34Speaker 5: like it didn't make sense to draft both of them.
- 29:36Speaker 7: The only thing I'd push back on is the Mason
- 29:38Speaker 7: Graham pick, the most predictable pick of the draft, Like
- 29:41Speaker 7: similar to gent d he's a good player, but they
- 29:44Speaker 7: need difference makers and he's not want.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Let's see. Barton Poland says the game that we really
- 29:51Speaker 3: should be watching is Chargers against Houston. He says, we
- 29:55Speaker 3: really need the Chargers to win. That's the only way
- 29:59Speaker 3: they don't their starters versus Denver in Week eighteen.
- 30:02Speaker 5: This is a very good point by bart that I
- 30:05Speaker 5: happen to agree with for exactly the reason.
- 30:07Speaker 7: He's definitely right that it's a big game. I'm still
- 30:10Speaker 7: watching Buffalo, Like I think for this team it's important
- 30:14Speaker 7: to to win the division. I think it means a
- 30:17Speaker 7: lot to them. I think it means a lot to Rabel.
- 30:20Speaker 7: You know his introductory press conference, take advantage of bad football,
- 30:23Speaker 7: win the division, compete for championships like those.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Were the post home playoffs.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Well, yeah, but you do that automatically. I I like
- 30:30Speaker 7: it's but like he said both and I was like, well,
- 30:34Speaker 7: if you win the division, Mike like, uh, yeah, but
- 30:37Speaker 7: that is that is a big like objective, and I
- 30:42Speaker 7: think that it's it's really important for them to finish
- 30:45Speaker 7: this thing off in tangible Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 5: But the point about the number one seed I think
- 30:50Speaker 5: is ex accurate. You know, the Chargers, if they if
- 30:54Speaker 5: they don't have anything to play for, they're as banged
- 30:56Speaker 5: up as any team in.
- 30:57Speaker 1: The league, they'll shut it down. I think I think
- 30:59Speaker 1: they could be guys.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Now, they might not win in Denver anyway, but if
- 31:03Speaker 5: they don't necessarily have anything to play for, it's important.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Anthony wants to know. Can you guys recall a time
- 31:10Speaker 3: where three teams who have been juggernauts in a conference
- 31:13Speaker 3: all needed to seriously retool their teams? The Chiefs, Ravens,
- 31:16Speaker 3: and Bills all need serious rehauls, although maybe not as
- 31:19Speaker 3: much for Buffalo given their success. Doesn't think the race
- 31:23Speaker 3: a lot of talent.
- 31:24Speaker 5: I think their talent isn't the issue. I think that
- 31:26Speaker 5: the coach might.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Need and Lamar got hurt.
- 31:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and you could make the same argument for Lamar
- 31:32Speaker 5: as who are trying to talk about with you know,
- 31:34Speaker 5: is too much on him? Is that what's going to
- 31:36Speaker 5: happen because he has been I mean Josh Allen plays
- 31:39Speaker 5: every game La does.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean Lamar got hurt and then got hurt again,
- 31:43Speaker 4: and now he's hurt again, and.
- 31:44Speaker 5: He's missed games pretty much regularly. I would say, I
- 31:48Speaker 5: don't say every year, but at least three three different
- 31:52Speaker 5: seasons he's missed games.
- 31:54Speaker 4: I think Baltimore would be in the playoffs. I faver
- 31:57Speaker 4: didn't get it.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I agree Ashton wants to know, with our lack of
- 32:01Speaker 3: pass rush, how is Swinson done with his chances? He
- 32:03Speaker 3: was fantastic at LSU. He hasn't had any He hasn't
- 32:06Speaker 3: had any chances.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I've been playing on special teams.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Should he have chances?
- 32:10Speaker 7: I mean I would assume that if he's secretly really good,
- 32:13Speaker 7: that they would be playing him. I don't think that.
- 32:16Speaker 6: The question is about Ponder and I think he's been
- 32:20Speaker 6: I mean or nothing.
- 32:22Speaker 7: Yeah, he had a decent game when they're using him
- 32:25Speaker 7: on the inside against Buffalo, but then last week it
- 32:27Speaker 7: wasn't as well good. But I just for better or worse,
- 32:31Speaker 7: I think that there's something to Landry and Chase on
- 32:35Speaker 7: have been their guys. I think Rabel's loyal to Landry especially,
- 32:39Speaker 7: and I think it's going to take something like an
- 32:42Speaker 7: injury or something severe for them to not go down
- 32:45Speaker 7: them with the ship. With those two guys being their
- 32:48Speaker 7: their bookend edge rushers.
- 32:49Speaker 6: It was tough watching Landry back on this one. I
- 32:51Speaker 6: just I don't think he has any bursts right now.
- 32:53Speaker 6: It just it seems like he's playing through something significant
- 32:56Speaker 6: and I'm not sure it's going to get better this
- 32:58Speaker 6: year and.
- 32:59Speaker 4: It's probably still playing right.
- 33:00Speaker 6: And my bigger question is just to get to the
- 33:02Speaker 6: off season. How much do they focus on that in
- 33:05Speaker 6: free agency in the draft, that edge spot. It's just,
- 33:08Speaker 6: you know, even Chased on him and I like him,
- 33:10Speaker 6: but I think I'd like him best if he was
- 33:11Speaker 6: like the third guy part of the rotation, that you
- 33:13Speaker 6: had three guys that you felt comfortable with on any down.
- 33:17Speaker 7: In this game, they took him off the field on
- 33:18Speaker 7: early downs. They put to Vaian Jennings on the edge
- 33:23Speaker 7: on rundowns. So I think they agree with you, like
- 33:26Speaker 7: he's really a situational pass rusher. Yeah, in his ideal role.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Quick.
- 33:29Speaker 6: I mean you gotta love the effort at the end.
- 33:31Speaker 6: I mean that the pursuit to go back to that
- 33:33Speaker 6: at the end was tremendous.
- 33:34Speaker 5: Now you had the number about how much they were
- 33:37Speaker 5: sort of targeting those guys both both sides, but mostly
- 33:41Speaker 5: to the left, and that's probably why Evans pointing about
- 33:44Speaker 5: them taking them out.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Chase was tough.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah, eight five five pats five hundred is the hotline.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Let's get to it. Sean's and Vancouver. What's up Sean?
- 33:57Speaker 10: And yesterday, Mike I implement to on the nineteen eighty
- 34:02Speaker 10: five Patriots podcast. So I have a game for you
- 34:06Speaker 10: guys on that.
- 34:07Speaker 1: All right, I got an unfair advantage, I think.
- 34:11Speaker 10: Well, no, but you know you've been doing the work,
- 34:13Speaker 10: so Mike, you can you can chime in on this
- 34:15Speaker 10: for sure. And in nineteen ninety six, Patriots Director of
- 34:19Speaker 10: person player personnel Bobby Greer clashed with Parcels over draft decisions,
- 34:24Speaker 10: which led to build Parcels leaving the team after the
- 34:27Speaker 10: Super Bowl. LOFs what role did Bobby Greer have with
- 34:29Speaker 10: the nineteen eighty five New England Patriots?
- 34:34Speaker 4: I know, Bobby college scouting director. I don't know. I
- 34:38Speaker 4: just got wait, hold on, there's no way I'm trying
- 34:42Speaker 4: to say.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a Robbie running back.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's an offensive backfield coach.
- 34:49Speaker 10: You're right, yep, there you go.
- 34:51Speaker 11: Okay, next question.
- 34:52Speaker 10: The Patriots selected center Trevor Matage twenty eighth overall nineteen
- 34:55Speaker 10: eighty five draft. What college did he attend?
- 34:58Speaker 1: Why are you there?
- 35:00Speaker 3: You go?
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah? I didn't play, guy.
- 35:03Speaker 10: I don't know if I'm going to stop anybody with
- 35:05Speaker 10: these questions. Which two teams did the Patriots beat twice
- 35:09Speaker 10: in nineteen eighty five? And what were the scores?
- 35:12Speaker 3: Oh?
- 35:13Speaker 1: I don't know. They beat the Jets and the Dolphins twice.
- 35:15Speaker 3: That's right.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm not sure the score.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Scor Paul, Yeah, the Jets and the Dolphins they beat twice.
- 35:22Speaker 10: Yeah, No, it's it's the Bills seventeen to fourteen and
- 35:26Speaker 10: the Bill Okay, well, they get home, they cold thirty
- 35:30Speaker 10: four fifteen at home, and the Colts thirty eight thirty
- 35:33Speaker 10: one in Indy. They lost in Miami and they lost
- 35:36Speaker 10: an overtime to the Jets.
- 35:38Speaker 5: I just know them, but they beat them in the playoffs.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Well does he maybe you're just regular season?
- 35:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, right, because they I think they split with
- 35:45Speaker 5: both of those in the regular season.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Correct, Ye, yeah, that's what he's saying. Yeah, they did
- 35:49Speaker 3: them twice.
- 35:51Speaker 10: I meant the regular season.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, the other two AFC teams.
- 35:54Speaker 3: You have to be specific, Convince Ferragama. If the Bills,
- 35:58Speaker 3: we'll catch you on the fourteen.
- 36:00Speaker 10: All right, two more questions. The Patriots only went to
- 36:03Speaker 10: overtime once in nineteen eighty five. Who did they play
- 36:06Speaker 10: and what was the score?
- 36:07Speaker 5: Jolt Jess, I lost sixteen thirteen?
- 36:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Jet, they had it.
- 36:12Speaker 4: I knew it was one of the teams.
- 36:13Speaker 5: He just said at le heat field goal, that was
- 36:16Speaker 5: like a knuckleball, that just barely like kind of me.
- 36:18Speaker 3: I remember his shoelace was untied, and.
- 36:20Speaker 5: I don't remember that for that's just creepy, freaky.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Were you roomed for the Jets at that point, friend?
- 36:24Speaker 3: Probably eighty five.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I was.
- 36:29Speaker 3: I was living in Boston and I was rooting for
- 36:31Speaker 3: the Patriots.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Did you go to the rally send them off?
- 36:34Speaker 3: No?
- 36:35Speaker 5: What's the last one? Sean.
- 36:37Speaker 10: Nineteen eighty five nfl CO Defensive Player of the Year
- 36:40Speaker 10: and Hall of Famer Andre Tippett led the AFC with
- 36:44Speaker 10: sixteen and a half stacks, but also achieved greatness in
- 36:47Speaker 10: which martial art?
- 36:49Speaker 3: Oh, it's it's a it's a form of judo.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Nope, taekwondo?
- 36:56Speaker 8: No?
- 36:56Speaker 1: Is it krobma goal? I don't know what is it?
- 36:59Speaker 12: No?
- 36:59Speaker 10: He had that seventh degree black belt in karate karate.
- 37:05Speaker 6: I'm a karate man the inside.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Thank you, Mike.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Is this Ralph Machi.
- 37:12Speaker 5: I always love having Mike here because you always.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Get the Eddie Murph. Thanks.
- 37:19Speaker 7: Thanks new episode Monday, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanaka.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Let's go to Nate in Connecticut with me.
- 37:25Speaker 11: Nate, can you guys to well?
- 37:29Speaker 13: Uh so, first off, I just want to merry Christmas everyone,
- 37:32Speaker 13: Thanks to Nate and thank you. And we have the
- 37:37Speaker 13: Jets this upcoming Sunday. And they say that this is
- 37:42Speaker 13: a rivalry, and yes it is, but this rivalry has
- 37:45Speaker 13: been like one sided forever and with the position that
- 37:49Speaker 13: the Jets are in this year, it's just gonna be
- 37:52Speaker 13: I think it's going to be a blowout win. Thank Patriots.
- 37:55Speaker 13: We're gonna we're gonna take this stuff. We're gonna hopefully
- 37:58Speaker 13: get the divisions with a bill lost and changing topics.
- 38:02Speaker 13: Since it is Christmas, ease, I just want to know
- 38:05Speaker 13: what are your favorite Christmas movies to watch?
- 38:08Speaker 14: Personally?
- 38:09Speaker 13: I'm a home Alone fan. One and two. The other
- 38:11Speaker 13: home alones I hate the ones are probably the best.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I don't know what.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, there's a handful, all right, I think there's three.
- 38:23Speaker 3: All right, thanks, you have a good one tomorrow. I mean,
- 38:26Speaker 3: Christmas Story is favorite of mine. You've seen them all
- 38:29Speaker 3: so many times that, like you know.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Diar Hard.
- 38:31Speaker 3: There's four home Christmas.
- 38:33Speaker 7: Movie, Christmas Vacation, Christmas Vacation on Christmas Vacation is pretty good.
- 38:39Speaker 5: That's a good Home Alone. I think Nate's Nate's Home.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Is great too.
- 38:43Speaker 3: But Charlie Brown Christmas, well, I don't actually just the
- 38:46Speaker 3: music too. I always put Andy Hart hated all painters
- 38:50Speaker 3: he could.
- 38:50Speaker 8: He didn't get it.
- 38:51Speaker 3: You didn't understand the attraction.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I was. While Andy was.
- 38:54Speaker 5: A little ridiculous with it, I kind of agreed with him.
- 38:57Speaker 4: When I can't do it, I can't do like the
- 39:00Speaker 4: real Christmas ones. That's like you gotta it has to have.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Something sty one.
- 39:04Speaker 4: Yeah, like I.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Don't know, it's a wonderful wife, right, Like what about Elf?
- 39:08Speaker 8: That was?
- 39:08Speaker 1: I like Elf?
- 39:09Speaker 3: Elf?
- 39:10Speaker 4: And Christmas Vacation.
- 39:11Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 39:12Speaker 5: I do like Christmas Vacation though.
- 39:14Speaker 4: It's it's like an hour and thirty. It's not like
- 39:16Speaker 4: a carpet wet. Yeah, the neighbors. They extended cuts better
- 39:22Speaker 4: because there's more of the neighbors than the extended cut.
- 39:24Speaker 1: You know what's kind of scary when you're watching now
- 39:26Speaker 1: is that Rudolph claymation one.
- 39:27Speaker 5: It's like it's scary.
- 39:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know, it's just it's it's kind of scary.
- 39:33Speaker 5: I don't know, it's something creepy. The whole message is
- 39:37Speaker 5: like I have no use for you until you can
- 39:39Speaker 5: help me.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Right, it's true Christmas passage, that Christmas Christmas message, right,
- 39:45Speaker 3: you know you get me.
- 39:47Speaker 5: They are saying, oh, it needs work.
- 39:48Speaker 1: It's like it's.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Really bad dentist.
- 39:51Speaker 1: It wants to be a dentist.
- 39:53Speaker 7: I did like the the Tim Allen Santa Claus movies too.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Those ones.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I saw the first one, the second one's back.
- 40:00Speaker 6: There is no like a handful of five or six
- 40:02Speaker 6: of these movies that are just when we named them.
- 40:04Speaker 1: They're just awesome. They're all rewatchable and fun.
- 40:06Speaker 4: And none of them are dying now.
- 40:08Speaker 3: So okay, let's go to de Seawan and Virginia. What's up?
- 40:13Speaker 5: Godfather Great Christmas.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Potter is another one.
- 40:19Speaker 15: Yeah, So I just want to stalk about saying I
- 40:21Speaker 15: was at this game Sunday night, and the biggest thing
- 40:23Speaker 15: I can say is that I'm not very impressed by
- 40:25Speaker 15: this defense resimilarly to the secondary, because when I watch
- 40:28Speaker 15: these guys, it's like they don't challenge anybody. I mean,
- 40:31Speaker 15: like they don't have to get any interceptions, let alone
- 40:34Speaker 15: even like that passes away and it's like I'm watchings,
- 40:37Speaker 15: there always seem to be somebody open, you know, and
- 40:40Speaker 15: teams are able to consistently drive the ball, uh you know,
- 40:43Speaker 15: every single job when they get it. And it's not
- 40:45Speaker 15: like we're the best defensive team in the red zone.
- 40:48Speaker 15: So when teams get down there, they most definitely crack
- 40:50Speaker 15: through to go get a touchdown, Like every time was
- 40:52Speaker 15: how many get down there? So when I'm looking at
- 40:55Speaker 15: this team right now, I think that the biggest thing,
- 40:57Speaker 15: and they called the pictures the foe, is this is
- 40:59Speaker 15: this defense and you can't depend on a second year
- 41:02Speaker 15: quarterback to pull you out. He's sucking your quarterback. I mean,
- 41:07Speaker 15: like you can't expect him to go ahead and be
- 41:09Speaker 15: the same the day. I mean, I don't see it
- 41:11Speaker 15: happened in the game.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean I think everyone agrees with it.
- 41:15Speaker 3: To Shawn, if they lose, it's going to be because
- 41:18Speaker 3: of the defense.
- 41:19Speaker 4: I think you just hope that they're going to get
- 41:20Speaker 4: their guys back.
- 41:21Speaker 7: Thanks to you know, this defense has issues and we've
- 41:24Speaker 7: talked about them all year long, but not having Milton
- 41:27Speaker 7: Williams and Robert splane is is huge pieces.
- 41:30Speaker 5: And if they get all those.
- 41:31Speaker 7: Guys back and they can stop the run again, yeah,
- 41:34Speaker 7: you know it's hard to stop the pass when it's
- 41:36Speaker 7: third and four. You know, there's a lot of things
- 41:38Speaker 7: on the menu. There's a lot of options for the offense.
- 41:41Speaker 7: You know, when you get teams off schedule and you
- 41:43Speaker 7: get them behind the chains and you get them into
- 41:45Speaker 7: third and longs, you know, that's when you can create
- 41:47Speaker 7: turnovers and pressure.
- 41:48Speaker 4: In all that.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Season though before when they were stopping the run, weren't
- 41:51Speaker 3: they rated low in pass defense?
- 41:54Speaker 4: Well, they were rated low in terms of like adjusting
- 41:57Speaker 4: for schedule.
- 41:58Speaker 1: You know know what that means?
- 42:00Speaker 5: Way, Yeah, they're still rated low because that's hip and
- 42:03Speaker 5: takes into account the off.
- 42:05Speaker 3: I'm just talking about, like were they good against the
- 42:07Speaker 3: pass or not? I don't yes or no? Early what
- 42:11Speaker 3: do you think? I thought that they were ranked pretty
- 42:13Speaker 3: low against.
- 42:14Speaker 5: No But what did you think that they were forget
- 42:16Speaker 5: about the range?
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was the one little weekness.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I would agree with you. Yeah, I would agree with you.
- 42:21Speaker 7: The numbers early on in the season were that, and
- 42:24Speaker 7: then the schedule took hold, and now their past defense
- 42:27Speaker 7: is rated much better because they played the Dylan Gabriels
- 42:31Speaker 7: and the cam Wards and and those players.
- 42:33Speaker 3: So that's all you had to say.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Well that is what I said.
- 42:36Speaker 5: But I mean, like, just as a point of comparison,
- 42:38Speaker 5: Drake May has had a pretty good year. We all agree,
- 42:41Speaker 5: Drake May, Yeah, pretty good, Key May. I still don't
- 42:45Speaker 5: know what that means, and if you would care to
- 42:47Speaker 5: explain it to me that I'd be happy.
- 42:49Speaker 1: To take part.
- 42:49Speaker 3: I could be too completely wrong, but iff when they
- 42:53Speaker 3: list the guy like if your nickname was Pep, this
- 42:56Speaker 3: is Paul p P Parole.
- 42:57Speaker 4: This is Pro Football reference, not Ppah.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and for Pro Football Reference and for Drake they
- 43:02Speaker 3: had Drake Drake May May and as this as if
- 43:05Speaker 3: Drake May was his nickname. And now I don't know
- 43:07Speaker 3: if it was a mistake.
- 43:11Speaker 5: This is not it, that's not it.
- 43:13Speaker 1: It happened.
- 43:16Speaker 7: This is yeah, because they put the nickname for all
- 43:18Speaker 7: the players on their website exactly, but they didn't they
- 43:21Speaker 7: do that as a reactive thing that they don't start
- 43:23Speaker 7: the trend. The trend is put on the website was.
- 43:26Speaker 3: A mistake and that started. No.
- 43:28Speaker 7: No, I would give a little bit of credit to
- 43:32Speaker 7: Drake May lover. I think that that's probably where this
- 43:35Speaker 7: all sort of started to originate. But the whole gist
- 43:39Speaker 7: of it is is that he's so good that he
- 43:42Speaker 7: doesn't even need a nickname.
- 43:43Speaker 4: He's just Drake May, like.
- 43:45Speaker 1: We don't need.
- 43:47Speaker 7: I would say he was probably the one that started
- 43:49Speaker 7: to popularize. So the whole idea of the nickname is
- 43:54Speaker 7: that is that he's so good we don't need to
- 43:57Speaker 7: give him like some like you know, fugazi nickname.
- 44:01Speaker 4: He's just Drake May. Okay, so he's Drake Drake May May.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I like that.
- 44:09Speaker 5: I'd like to have a nickname for Drake.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I would I don't know, you Drake, what it would be.
- 44:15Speaker 4: No, this is this is this is good. It's good.
- 44:18Speaker 5: But just as a point of comparison, he's Drake, He's
- 44:21Speaker 5: got twenty five touchdowns and eight picks, and the Patriots
- 44:25Speaker 5: have allowed twenty four touchdowns and eight picks. I would
- 44:29Speaker 5: say that most everybody would say Drake May's having a
- 44:31Speaker 5: really good year. So those numbers would indicate the other
- 44:34Speaker 5: team's quarterbacks are having a pretty good year. You know.
- 44:38Speaker 5: Now that's just an average. Obviously that's not one guy.
- 44:41Speaker 5: So you know, you may shut down, as Evan said,
- 44:44Speaker 5: the Dylan Gabriels of the world, but I think when
- 44:47Speaker 5: you faced some other guys you didn't fare quite as well.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Yeah, spiing Fresno, Who do you think is the best
- 44:53Speaker 3: team in the league now? And how much better are
- 44:55Speaker 3: they than the Patriots? And which is the better movie?
- 44:58Speaker 3: Bat Santa or Christmas Vacation Bad Santa? Have you seen that?
- 45:02Speaker 3: That's a great movie? A great movie, A movie. I disagree.
- 45:07Speaker 5: I like Vacation, but that Santa is a very funny.
- 45:11Speaker 1: I agree. I'd probably still say the Rams. I know
- 45:14Speaker 1: Seattle just beat them.
- 45:16Speaker 5: But I just I worry about Evans.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Guys, I would just.
- 45:18Speaker 6: Go on the quarterbacks, and I mean I think Seattle.
- 45:20Speaker 6: It's probably a corn flip between them, Seattle and the
- 45:22Speaker 6: Rams right now, but.
- 45:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Seattle. And it's funny because I think
- 45:27Speaker 5: Seattle is the inside track to get the number one seed.
- 45:29Speaker 5: I think they'd the third best team in that division.
- 45:32Speaker 5: San Francisco has impressed me a little bit more this
- 45:35Speaker 5: year than most because of the amount of injuries and
- 45:37Speaker 5: turmoil they went through. They did not look anything like
- 45:41Speaker 5: what they look like right now in the middle of
- 45:43Speaker 5: the season, and they just found a way to keep
- 45:46Speaker 5: doing just enough to win games. And now like it
- 45:50Speaker 5: looks like Party's healthy, Kittle's healthy, you know, five touchdowns
- 45:54Speaker 5: the other night. The defense has got a whole bunch
- 45:57Speaker 5: of guys that you don't really know. They're starting to
- 45:58Speaker 5: make plays. I think San Francisco is one of those
- 46:01Speaker 5: teams that no one's really talking about that I think
- 46:03Speaker 5: could be a real threat.
- 46:04Speaker 7: It's like fun there's not a dominant team. There's not
- 46:08Speaker 7: one team that I would say I do like.
- 46:09Speaker 1: The team, as you guys all know.
- 46:11Speaker 6: Yeah know me too, me too, Spot. But you know,
- 46:13Speaker 6: if it's at the NFC championships in Seattle. I think
- 46:15Speaker 6: that might, you know, give Seattle a little bit of
- 46:17Speaker 6: an edge Darnald play.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I think either one of those teams could win
- 46:21Speaker 5: in Seattle. I don't think Seattle could win, you know,
- 46:23Speaker 5: on the road.
- 46:24Speaker 7: Do you do have a concern that Darnold, just like
- 46:27Speaker 7: last year, is going to turn back into a playoff
- 46:29Speaker 7: Pumpkin And you don't have that same concern because Party
- 46:32Speaker 7: has been to a Super Bowl and Stafford's won a
- 46:34Speaker 7: Super Bowl. So I get Paul's points, but yeah, Party
- 46:37Speaker 7: has been probably the most efficient quarterback in the league.
- 46:40Speaker 7: When he's been healthy and been playing, He's been really good.
- 46:43Speaker 5: I would put Seattle on a list of teams that, like,
- 46:45Speaker 5: you know, the most I mean the Patriots obviously, but
- 46:48Speaker 5: the most surprising teams that you didn't really see coming,
- 46:52Speaker 5: you know, I would say the Patriots. Seattle would definitely
- 46:54Speaker 5: be a couple of those.
- 46:56Speaker 3: But you know, by far, Bailey says, you guys aren't
- 46:59Speaker 3: talking about the real reason players win MVPs. I don't
- 47:03Speaker 3: want to come off as snarky, but the reason josh
- 47:06Speaker 3: one MVP over Lamar is seeding a top two seed
- 47:09Speaker 3: has won it every year outside of one since at
- 47:12Speaker 3: least twenty ten, maybe even further back. It's been driving
- 47:15Speaker 3: me crazy hearing you guys say Alan won it because
- 47:18Speaker 3: he had less talent. I think Allan deserved it either way,
- 47:21Speaker 3: because he led his team to more victories by being
- 47:24Speaker 3: more clutch. So with all that being said, if we
- 47:26Speaker 3: win a game versus the Dolphins or Jets and the
- 47:28Speaker 3: Seahawks went out, Drake may is as good as a
- 47:31Speaker 3: lock for MVP. If we end up dropping to the
- 47:34Speaker 3: three seed, I'll be a little more nervous with Lawrence's
- 47:37Speaker 3: late season push, but I don't think he will drop.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Evan and Paul are my favorite on the pod, so
- 47:42Speaker 3: I hope they respect my snarkiness and get mad about this,
- 47:45Speaker 3: and don't get mad about this email.
- 47:47Speaker 5: I wouldn't get mad at I would just say I disagree. Yeah,
- 47:51Speaker 5: I would just say that.
- 47:52Speaker 4: You know, a lot of the people that vote for
- 47:54Speaker 4: MVP explain publicly why they voted for MVP.
- 47:58Speaker 5: There were stories written about there's because last.
- 48:00Speaker 7: Year was a very very close and very contentious vote
- 48:03Speaker 7: between Lamar and Josh Allen, and all the people that
- 48:06Speaker 7: voted for Josh Allen is using the reasoning that Paul
- 48:09Speaker 7: and I have brought up, which is that he had
- 48:11Speaker 7: less around him than Lamar Jackson did. Not this not
- 48:14Speaker 7: that he had a better record.
- 48:15Speaker 5: Yeah, and I do appreciate the snark by the way.
- 48:18Speaker 5: I like the way he led into it, like let
- 48:20Speaker 5: me tell you it was like the dirt diggler Mike,
- 48:22Speaker 5: you know, let me tell you what you did wrong.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Let me show you what you did do wrong.
- 48:25Speaker 5: But I would just say, when you have an opinion,
- 48:31Speaker 5: I wouldn't present it as fact, like let me tell
- 48:33Speaker 5: you why, well your opinion that your opinion is, you
- 48:37Speaker 5: know that one of the first two seeds. If that
- 48:40Speaker 5: was true, then why did Lamar win the first team
- 48:44Speaker 5: all pro voted by the same people. If Evan's not
- 48:49Speaker 5: right about the differentiation being the MVP, they felt like
- 48:54Speaker 5: the guy who did it with less.
- 48:56Speaker 7: I know a lot of Patriots fans are using this
- 48:59Speaker 7: as a feather Drake May's cap, But I would say
- 49:02Speaker 7: that this is a little bit of like correlation versus causation,
- 49:05Speaker 7: Like obviously the guys that are gonna be nominated for
- 49:08Speaker 7: MVPs are gonna be on the best teams, so like
- 49:10Speaker 7: them being a one or two seed is just kind
- 49:13Speaker 7: of a result of like they're having outstanding years and
- 49:16Speaker 7: have their teams in now standing positions, So like, I
- 49:19Speaker 7: don't know if that's necessarily like they are winning it
- 49:23Speaker 7: because they were the number one seed or the number
- 49:25Speaker 7: one seed because they're winning it.
- 49:27Speaker 5: In my opinion, if you're gonna talk about an MVP,
- 49:30Speaker 5: like last year, Joe Burrow had an unbelievable season, but
- 49:34Speaker 5: they went nine to eight and didn't make the playoffs,
- 49:36Speaker 5: I can't go that far down to give an MVP.
- 49:40Speaker 5: But if you win fourteen games and this team wins
- 49:44Speaker 5: thirteen games but gets the three seed, I'm sorry, I
- 49:47Speaker 5: don't I'm gonna pick who I think had the better year,
- 49:51Speaker 5: you know what I mean. I mean, like you can
- 49:53Speaker 5: make an argument Joe Burrow had a better year than
- 49:55Speaker 5: anybody last year, or Jamar Chase, you know those kind
- 50:00Speaker 5: of thing. But but if you can't win enough games
- 50:02Speaker 5: to at least make the playoffs, that's kind of like my.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Little MVP trivia. There's been one m VP. This is
- 50:10Speaker 3: twenty ten. That one without being a top two seed.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Who was it?
- 50:15Speaker 3: Hint it was a major storyline year for him.
- 50:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I have no idea because I don't remember Adrian Peterson.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I don't remember all.
- 50:23Speaker 5: The seeds, like I don't remember all the different seeds,
- 50:27Speaker 5: you know.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Right back to the phones we go and it is
- 50:33Speaker 3: Dan in New Jersey. What's up Dan?
- 50:36Speaker 11: A happy holiday? Sellas you're talking about movies kind of underrated,
- 50:43Speaker 11: but I really like it. I look forward to watching
- 50:45Speaker 11: every year. And that's Family Man with Nicholas Cage.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think I know that movie.
- 50:52Speaker 11: Yeah, twist on. It's a wonderful life. They's kind of
- 50:56Speaker 11: a full of themselves kind of Wall Street, you know,
- 50:59Speaker 11: hip Howard mergers and acquisition guy, and he gets the
- 51:03Speaker 11: chance to live and see his life as if he
- 51:06Speaker 11: were a tire salesman in New Jersey, which I relate to.
- 51:11Speaker 3: You sell tires.
- 51:13Speaker 11: I don't still tires, Mike.
- 51:16Speaker 3: What are you thinking of run flats?
- 51:17Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 51:18Speaker 1: They're available time.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:21Speaker 11: But I just want to say I had the best
- 51:24Speaker 11: Christmas present this year already. I got a twelve and three.
- 51:27Speaker 11: Doesn't matter what. I'm going to the game on Sunday,
- 51:30Speaker 11: looking forward to it. I'm undefeated at mett Les and
- 51:32Speaker 11: my wife's become a big fan over the last few years.
- 51:36Speaker 11: So we're just looking forward to nice enjoying our Christs
- 51:40Speaker 11: with a playoffs down team.
- 51:42Speaker 3: And I think you might be also with a lot
- 51:44Speaker 3: of Patriots fans.
- 51:44Speaker 4: I'm sorry that that's the stadium you have to go to.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Thanks, Dan, appreciate the call. Jean right Sinuh. I'm disappointed
- 51:53Speaker 3: that Paul does not know that the nineteen sixty four
- 51:56Speaker 3: Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer reindeer movie, the clay mation movie.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Uh, is the.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Original just do your job motivational movie that inspired Bill Belichick.
- 52:05Speaker 3: I think he didn't that one really on a Friday
- 52:09Speaker 3: or something. Yeah, yeah, what's.
- 52:13Speaker 1: The what's the idea?
- 52:15Speaker 4: The like war? General guy? Yeah, yeah, it's war.
- 52:23Speaker 1: And well there's another.
- 52:26Speaker 6: One of your anonymous reports by Adam Shift.
- 52:31Speaker 5: I get to think that Adam and then all of
- 52:34Speaker 5: a sudden he changed his tone. Is that what I
- 52:37Speaker 5: told him?
- 52:37Speaker 3: Oh?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Sorry?
- 52:38Speaker 3: Should I read a Night Before Christmas poem by Steve
- 52:43Speaker 3: Sure that he writes in every year?
- 52:46Speaker 1: Is it Steve or Dan?
- 52:47Speaker 17: No?
- 52:48Speaker 3: This is from Steve, the original from Marblehead.
- 52:51Speaker 5: This is a new one then, because Dan Dan writes
- 52:54Speaker 5: the Christmas pone the PF Steve. I don't know, but
- 52:59Speaker 5: I'll more than to see if Steve can not.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Okay, all right, let's go, because you know we gotta hurry.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Twas the night before Christmas in the AFC East, where
- 53:09Speaker 3: the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins all feared a new beast.
- 53:13Speaker 3: The Jets had been confident, with a good reason. Twelve
- 53:17Speaker 3: years in a row we have won the offseason. The Dolphins'
- 53:20Speaker 3: concerns have never been fewer until the game started, and yeah,
- 53:25Speaker 3: we got Tua. The Bills were all snuggled in bed
- 53:28Speaker 3: with good cheer until the billboard arows, we'll take it
- 53:31Speaker 3: from here. That's a good one. The Pats had a goal,
- 53:35Speaker 3: we will beat the bad teams. The schedule complied with
- 53:39Speaker 3: more than in our dreams. We shut down the backs
- 53:42Speaker 3: and receivers with glee. Eldred is stubborn. He still wants
- 53:45Speaker 3: a d We rattled off ten wins in a row,
- 53:49Speaker 3: then a loss. We sure showed the league who's now
- 53:52Speaker 3: the boss. But Christian called in all weeping and crying.
- 53:55Speaker 3: Our teams are fraud. They were a paper lion. After
- 53:59Speaker 3: each game. Evan gives good ride up, but when coach
- 54:02Speaker 3: called his name, he couldn't stand up. In preseason games,
- 54:06Speaker 3: film Paul's a film star, but forget the red Rider,
- 54:10Speaker 3: Paul wants a new car. Deuce knows the defense, but
- 54:15Speaker 3: never the spread. All of his entry songs got to
- 54:18Speaker 3: his head. No Tuesdays or Wednesdays, She'd only get bored.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Hey did Alex mention she won an award. He's got
- 54:26Speaker 3: big ideas, he's making big deals. He's winning the picks
- 54:30Speaker 3: because Freddy got feels. The fans and the callers will
- 54:33Speaker 3: want you to know. All we want for Christmas is
- 54:35Speaker 3: a fourth weekly show. You know what I'm gonna do.
- 54:43Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm going to forward this to Alex so
- 54:48Speaker 3: that she can include it in the newsletter.
- 54:52Speaker 4: That was very well done.
- 54:53Speaker 3: And by the way, if you don't get the newsletter,
- 54:55Speaker 3: you should. You can do it by going to uh,
- 54:59Speaker 3: what is it? Patriots coms slash newsletter. I don't even
- 55:05Speaker 3: know what it is now, Google newsletter, Google it.
- 55:08Speaker 5: I don't know it just comes to my email.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Google it for the weekly roast of me.
- 55:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but good good job, Steven, very good good job.
- 55:17Speaker 3: And you know what he did he bolded where I
- 55:20Speaker 3: should put the accent. Actually really wanted me to make
- 55:24Speaker 3: sure that I got it right.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Dar used to do this.
- 55:26Speaker 5: Shout out to Shane in the middle of everyone, and
- 55:28Speaker 5: Shane hadn't worked there in like fifteen years. I'd be like,
- 55:31Speaker 5: shout out, Shane, stop Shane, like it would stop in
- 55:34Speaker 5: the middle.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Good stuff. Let's get back to the phones. I don't know,
- 55:40Speaker 3: should I? Yeah, it's Christian Christ's Christmas? What's that Christion question?
- 55:48Speaker 2: Well, because Christmas, guys. Yeah, No, nothing to go, nothing
- 55:52Speaker 2: to you guys about it isn't It's the time to
- 55:56Speaker 2: say thank you, guys for a year of content. Thank
- 56:00Speaker 2: you guys for the time you guys spin away from
- 56:02Speaker 2: your families so that you can put on a show
- 56:05Speaker 2: so that we stand them.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Can all right, you're gonna make it listen.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I'm a little uh, I got the Christmas
- 56:14Speaker 2: cold like everybody else.
- 56:16Speaker 5: You have consumption, but we need you at one hundred
- 56:18Speaker 5: percent for the playoffs. Christian, rest up, I know you do.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Man.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Ups and down for everybody right in the year ups
- 56:25Speaker 2: and downs to me, my company wait for me got
- 56:27Speaker 2: chosen as best international startup of the year, and then
- 56:32Speaker 2: past you know, uh so then that happens so well,
- 56:38Speaker 2: and then that happens and so it's like up and down.
- 56:40Speaker 2: That's how the year goes. And that's how this this
- 56:42Speaker 2: sport goes. And you guys guide us through from the
- 56:45Speaker 2: fans that are just dejected every single loss to the
- 56:48Speaker 2: fans that think every wind means that we have the
- 56:50Speaker 2: dynasty back. You guys guide us through and you and
- 56:53Speaker 2: you're funny and you're nice and you're warm, and you
- 56:55Speaker 2: connect us all and you make us all out here
- 56:57Speaker 2: on the phone feel like we're in the booth. We
- 57:00Speaker 2: you guys agree together. So happy to leave it to
- 57:03Speaker 2: you guys. Thank you guys, and for all you do,
- 57:06Speaker 2: Beverly's do and Christian in La they go pack and
- 57:09Speaker 2: we really really dig you guys.
- 57:11Speaker 3: Thank you all right, Thanks a Christmas.
- 57:14Speaker 5: Thanks for your loyalty.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Christian in La.
- 57:16Speaker 4: I'm surprised at how nice that was.
- 57:18Speaker 6: You need all these characters on this show, right'll bring something.
- 57:21Speaker 3: God bless everyone.
- 57:24Speaker 17: Reindeer had some real explosive plays and if we saw
- 57:30Speaker 17: his own defense, we knew that it was going to
- 57:32Speaker 17: give us the best ability to get the ball down
- 57:35Speaker 17: the field. Understood our opponents might have some difficulty with that.
- 57:42Speaker 6: That was Friday.
- 57:45Speaker 1: That was a Friday with Bill.
- 57:46Speaker 6: I said that that's all they came up when I
- 57:48Speaker 6: googled Bill Belichick. Rudolf the Redden's reindeer was the family guy,
- 57:51Speaker 6: him him doing that for that? Claire, Hello everyone, Illomer
- 57:54Speaker 6: and Christmas is coming to Claire.
- 57:57Speaker 3: She just wants to send a warm Christmas us the pond.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Thanks for the great year. Pat's win or lose. You
- 58:03Speaker 3: all make a Patriots fan being a Patriots fan awesome
- 58:06Speaker 3: than you.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Is it clear? Is it still Father Christmas?
- 58:08Speaker 3: Over there?
- 58:09Speaker 1: Not Santa?
- 58:10Speaker 3: Chris Kringle, Chris Kringle, Christmas st Nick? Yeah, back to
- 58:17Speaker 3: the phone. Let's see you gotta follow up? Christian Sam
- 58:21Speaker 3: in North Carolina? What's up? Sam?
- 58:26Speaker 1: Sam?
- 58:27Speaker 9: Hey, how about the Drake maybe nickname? I think I
- 58:32Speaker 9: got the meaning for it because I hated it before
- 58:34Speaker 9: I came up with my own meaning. But the kid
- 58:37Speaker 9: is so nice. You got to see his name twice,
- 58:40Speaker 9: and I came up with that. I stay in love
- 58:42Speaker 9: with the nickname myself.
- 58:43Speaker 3: Okay, he's so nice, you gotta say it twice.
- 58:47Speaker 13: Damn right?
- 58:48Speaker 3: Okay, gotcha, all right? Thanks Sam? Merry Christmas. Bill's an Albuquerque, Hey.
- 58:55Speaker 14: Bill, Mexican, good afternoon.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Hey. Yes, Hey, the one.
- 59:02Speaker 14: Movie you guys haven't mentioned, which is uh drastically underwatched
- 59:08Speaker 14: is The Ref with Kevin Spacey, fellow Emerson graduate Judy
- 59:12Speaker 14: Davis and pre rape. Oh no, not Dennis Leary. It's Leary. Sorry,
- 59:20Speaker 14: I got the names. And it's called The Ref and
- 59:24Speaker 14: it takes place at Christmas. Kevin Spacey's a burglar and
- 59:26Speaker 14: he takes Judy Davis and I'm sorry, I'm in the
- 59:33Speaker 14: middle of I'm in the middle of doing something else
- 59:35Speaker 14: at the same time, putting up luminar.
- 59:37Speaker 5: I don't know this movie.
- 59:39Speaker 3: I've heard of it, but I don't think i've seen it.
- 59:41Speaker 14: God, dang funny. Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis fight all
- 59:44Speaker 14: the time, and uh, Dennis Leary's taking them hostage at
- 59:49Speaker 14: Christmas because he can't get out of the town. And
- 59:53Speaker 14: I swear to God.
- 59:53Speaker 15: You guys love.
- 59:54Speaker 14: It takes place in Connecticut, so it's New England, d
- 59:57Speaker 14: and internet.
- 1:00:00Speaker 10: My wife is from connect I know, I know, Connects
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: kind of.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Divided.
- 1:00:06Speaker 14: But you know, it's Christmas.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: It's Christmas, Christmas.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: That's good, that's good. I don't think i've seen it.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't familiar with it.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: I definitely don't know the movie Deuce. Can you know
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: you can?
- 1:00:16Speaker 14: It's criminally underwater.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Okay, the rest I have to look.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: It's probably hard to find because.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Didn't he get let off of all those tracks?
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: His career kind of ended.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: His career ended, But I thought he got off.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: Did you ever see him around trying? Can you know?
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: As only you can't? And I'm sure you can explain.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Judy Davis, I don't know that one.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: I don't know what you're talking about, Judy Dent, hold on,
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: it's a different.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Pain, Judy Dent.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I know who that is. Yeah, yeah, Judy Davis David.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Sure I know who that is.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Yeah, she's been around.
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: I'm sure she's fame.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, she's seventy.
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: I'm like the Dressmaker Mystery Husbands.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: And I haven't seen any of these Barton.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: I think if dust Barton, if Deuce didn't know who
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: she was the route without looking up IMDb, then I
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: feel better.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: No, not a lot of these movies I've seen. I'm
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: not surprised that Absolute Power. I did see, though, Clint Eastwood,
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: I think that was a president assassination movie.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: I saw that was one of the Cohen brother movies.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Now I haven't seen any of these
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: movies that she's been in so you.
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: Know, sorry the ref I've never not familiar with it.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Aaron and Port Jarvis, New York. He says, this is
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: the game I'm calling it now. Efton Ladarius Chisholm, the third,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: three hundred and fifty receiving yards, nine touchdowns. We've been
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: saving them all year for this moment.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: He might play.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: He could play. It was the new guy.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: No, sorry, the new guy.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: Well, they signed Michel to the practice squad, who has
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: uh played a little running back in the league. I
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: don't think that's a great sign for Traveon Henderson's availability.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: And then they opped Brendan Himus as well, so I
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: don't know if that's great.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Jared Wilson too.
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: But with booty and booty and protocol and Douglas did
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: not play much with the hamstring issue, you you could
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: get this is what you.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Need, like he gets in the season. It's wins and MACS.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Elements. This is a preseason game. This is very shine.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: That's so true.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: The other team is not going to play for.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. It's basically no.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Ability and don't forget that, no ability to play for.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Let's just say he did play and he had a
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: great game, good for him? Would they carry would you
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: consider no taking time away from Pop Douglas? No?
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: Okay, but more importantly, they wouldn't either.
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: I mean, like, if you had like ten catches for
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: one hundred and fifty yards and was just like unbelievable.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: That's what I don't I don't think he would take
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: anyone's job if they were healthy, even if he did
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: that in this in this particular game. Okay, Now, if
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: he had done that, say six weeks ago, and then
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: you know you're looking at like maybe we could give
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: this guy another look or whatever, I just don't think
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: in this game, okay, it would be considered.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Look you what you're thinking? You know what I mean.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: Franklin and Baltimore and the event Papa Myers is listening.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: I just want to say that I'm happy for Jacoby.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: We've got his extension with the Jaguars. Still miss him
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: being on the team. We do too. I'll also extend
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: the Merry Christmas to the PU crew and hope that
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: Santa left Paul a car size shape gift near his
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: house so we can stop cheating on us. PU faithful.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: I don't think it's going to happen a little Carvana delivery.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: It's going to happen.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: No, don't put that.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: No lessis bow and no bow no.
- 1:03:43Speaker 17: Boo.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's think.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: That's a lot of work to be able to buy
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: a car, keep it secret, have it there on Christmas.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: That sounds like it's unrealistic.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I just got a good Saturday and
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: linfe sketch.
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: I hadn't seen it from a few years ago, but
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: they set that up that like the husband buys the
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: wife of car and then she freaks out.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: Because like, we can't afford this. He has no idea. No,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: I did, like two thousand dollars down. She's like, yeah, down,
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: we have a monthly basic what. Yeah, it's good. It's
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: a good one.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Joe writes in in Michigan. I think the Patriots will
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: have a very tough game versus the page the Jets
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: Patriots twenty four just twenty one. Defense is real concern
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: for the Patriots. Had Ravens rode the running game with
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: their lead. I don't think the Patriots win oc for
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Ravens or HC must have the peak Carrol syndrome.
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: I agree about the Baltimore game, but there's no comparison
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: in talent. I don't think the Jets are capable of
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: doing that.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: No.
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: Yeah, even like their run game has some like infrastructure
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: things that are nice with like Breese Hall and their
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: offensive line, and their numbers are still terrible. Like you know,
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: you look at it on paper and you're like, oh,
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: they could probably run the ball a little bit.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: They're like twenty fourth in the EPA.
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: Like it's like it's like the best part of their team,
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: you know it, but it's still.
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: Not a solid player. But did he even play?
- 1:05:00Speaker 16: He?
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Like, am I miss? Is my timeline off? Like did
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: he even play last week?
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: He did?
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: He came back, Okay, so maybe he plays. I don't know,
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: maybe he breaks a long run. He's not really over.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: The sixteen carries for fifty.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: Four, okay, so he's healthy enough.
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: That's the one thing is he you know, there are
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: some they do have some explosive runs on tape. You know,
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: they think he's eleventh and explosive runs this year Breese Hall.
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: So it's not like great, but the numbers say that.
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: That's the one area of their team that's not bottom
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: of the league. Is their run game.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Have a modicum of focus. Like I'll give you the
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Thursday night game. Let's go to the Thursday night game.
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: Don't allow ad Mitchell to run by you, Christian Gonzales,
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: because maybe he'll catch it this time. Yeah right, you
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: know that's the only way they're going to score is
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: those kinds of plays if you have a lapse in concentration.
- 1:05:51Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: I mentioned I saw something this week that your boy
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: Shats had. The Jets special teams EA is like historical. Yeah,
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: one of the it's like the third best special team
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: season of all times they've had.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: They have a really good returner who I'm baking on
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: his name right now, but will Yeah, but they they've
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: had some good returns.
- 1:06:13Speaker 7: They had one game earlier this year. One of their
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: three wins where I think they had two is right
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: before they played the Patriots in Week eleven.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's Isaiah Williams. I'm not sure he's
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: the good punt returner with two punt return for touchdowns.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: And then I don't know how to pronounce the name
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: is is it Woghu has a kickoff return?
- 1:06:32Speaker 7: Yeah, So I think that that was the one of
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: their three wins. I think it was the week right
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: before they played the Patriots on a week eleven, they
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: had a I think it's a punt and a kickoff
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: return touchdown in the same leave and that's how they
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: won the game.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: So that's it.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: That's the formula. That's what I'm saying.
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: The the head coach.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: Have some focus and you should be able to keep that.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: You know that team at back.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Audrey and New Hampshire says, oh yeah, gosh, miss Molly. Shoot,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: we absolutely must change the pix order next year. Mike
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: can't be this bad at picks and now he's just
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: accepting it as truth. Let's have mister Sharp, Pauly p
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Goo first.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Okay, then try to keep that in mind.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Then Evan Alex, Mike and King Freddy last, because he's
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: the boss that still goes around the deck seating. Give
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Deuce a chance to hear a bit more about the matchups.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: If after this change he's still lasting the picks and
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: sneaky negative, then fine, shake.
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: It up, fred a new year of big week for Mike.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: He did not finish under five hundred with a spread.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I appreciate the support. Audrey.
- 1:07:32Speaker 6: You're right, I have kind of accepted at this point.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: But you know, we'll get to this in about twenty minutes, Fred,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: but the wiley veteran asserted his dominance. No, oh, oh curse,
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: you know the last couple of weeks.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Yeah right, he heard it.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: No, he heard the footsteps takes up the pace. And
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: he responded, according, right.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Oh okay, like it like that. I can't wait to
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: hear I figured because Alex asked me, would the other
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: are you know Alex Francisco be here today? Though, depends
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: on how she did in the pick. If she did well,
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: she'll be She.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Had she had a drum up a Romandree interview real quick.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: She said she had a really good human interest story
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: that she's working on. And I said, well, I'm neither
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: human nor interested.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Peace. So I'll see uh.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: El from Wisconsin.
- 1:08:21Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: Last week was tough, he says. The loss against Buffalo
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: caused everyone all week to talk about Drake coming back
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: and playing in the cold.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Please no more.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: I can't take any more of that mind numbingly stupid talk. Okay,
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: you know the whole thing about you know, he needs
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: to come prove that he can play in the needs
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: to prove that he can come back.
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: So you don't think that they did anything. Sunday against Baltimore.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: That doesn't do it that.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: He was already convinced he didn't need that.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Well, but that, but you didn't like to see it.
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: He I mean, it doesn't matter if you.
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: It wasn't about the game, he thought.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: I just thought it was cold Sunday night in Baltimore
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: from behind. I think that was kind of interesting.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: I think so too, And I think he did right.
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: So I thought it was interesting the week before too,
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: when it was cold and they were losing and they
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: didn't come from behind.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: It that's the day.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: He's just talking about the talk.
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: I find I find the actual analysis of the games
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: to be interesting.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: So we do Wow, that's what we do.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: That's we do.
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: I don't just pick and choose the analysis of the
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: games that I liked the way they finished el Wisconsin.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: You've been scolded, no, I just like your pants have
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: been pulled down and you've been space.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: It's not a mind nothing stupid, audience. It's not a
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: mind numbingly stupid argument to say that he had a
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: great comeback against Baltimore. That's not mind numbingly stupid.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Sorry, if you want to counter, the floor is yours.
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: You didn't hear what I said. What the comeback against
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: Baltimore and you know, on the road in the cold
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: was not mind numbingly stupid to talk about and be
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: excited about. Right, But I'll bet you he doesn't think
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: it is either.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Would you point? Would you?
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: Would you say it?
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: The only the only that was done was because they lost?
- 1:09:59Speaker 8: Hold on?
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Would you? Did you say it's dumb to say after
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: the Baltimore game he's going to do this every time?
- 1:10:04Speaker 8: Now?
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, that's dumb.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: Yeah, and the people aren't doing that.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: And he thought the other side of the argument was dumb.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: He can't do it, yeah, because he hasn't done it.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: No, but Patriots fans will say that that, see, he
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: can do it. It's over. We got a lot of
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: that in the postgame show.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Right, and he would I would imagine L might think.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: Oh no, no, I'm going to say that L thinks that's great.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: He's silenced everything.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: All right, Well, all right, well maybe i'll.
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: Because the only thing that was stupid about the argument was.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: That they lost.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Okay, I'll let it call it for.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: What it was.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: A great email. I'm not picking on that this you are, No,
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: I'm not, because this is what this is. I think
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: a typical response right now from Patriots fans, why are
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: they talking about? And Fred dealt with this during the game,
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: people would jumping the ship, right people. People were really
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: upset about it. So was it really that dumb? Like
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: there were a lot of people that were talking about
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: in analyzing things, and then they came and they made
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: a comeback and Drake silenced the critics. I think that's relevant, Okay,
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: I do now, at least for a week, he silenced
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: the critics. I don't know, Like like Felger always says,
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: you know, one of the few things that he says
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: that I actually find interest. I don't know what's going
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: to happen in the future. I don't know what's like.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: I can't see the future like everybody else, Like Patriots
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: fans know exactly what's going to happen. I can't. I
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: don't know what's going to happen. Otherwise I would stop
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: working here and I would bet all the games and
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: that would be my job. But I don't know what's
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: going to happen.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Do you, yes? I do. I have a feel for
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: the lending.
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: Okay, so can you tell me, yes, what's going to happen?
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: What do you want to know.
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: I want to know if the Patriots are going to
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: win the Super Bowl. Probably not, okay, I'll look unclear,
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: Probably not, it's not that's I'm not that doesn't really
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: read it me now rereading. Yeah, that's what I'm looking
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: for morel Thank you.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Uh Fred ask Evan. If the A gap is next
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: to the B gap, also, if the B gap is
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: next to the C gap. One more thing. Is the
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: C gap minus the B gap equal A gap. Thanks
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: for your anticipated cooperation.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: A gap squared plus the B gap square.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: If A equal C and B equals A, does A equal.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: C Pythagorean theorem? Yeah?
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Transitive, yeah, one technique er I was. I was no surprise.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: I was really bad at that logic course in college.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: Oh really yeah, I was pretty good at logic.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: I was okay like the first few weeks and then
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: I just lost interest.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: Had you and I logic?
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Is that like two trains leave for going these speeds?
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: A question? Yeah?
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: There was more in depth, like than like it started
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: with the transitive stuff, which okay, I get that, but
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: then it really complicated and I was like I'm out there.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, not for me.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Not exactly a mathematical genius, which is why thirteen accord
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: with English.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: Guy, you must have done good in English, like English
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: SATs that stuff.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: Ish is you know, I actually get better in math
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: on my SATs than I did English. Yeah, me too, well,
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: most most people do. Really Yeah, because I'm not in class.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: I didn't. I did better in English, but because I'm
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: that bad at math, but most people do better at math,
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: I think.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Yeah, no, but classes checking my grades in math were
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: not as good as otherwise.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: I mean, you know, with my son who's taken like
- 1:13:27Speaker 6: all these advanced classes, like some of the kids get
- 1:13:29Speaker 6: like like I would get to the end of those
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: tests and I'm like, I haven't taken this yet, but
- 1:13:33Speaker 6: like he has been in advanced class, so he's taken it,
- 1:13:35Speaker 6: so he knows what he's doing, you know. So sometimes
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: I feel like you're set up to fail with some
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: of that stuff. Anyway, But like the analogies and all
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: that stuff.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: I barely made geometry.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Oh, I was great at geometry.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: See that was the only one. Like the algebra stuff
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: I couldn't do Trigg Calculus, I really struggled. But geometry
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: was the only one that I was reasonably And you
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: know what.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: I blame it because I think I have an aptitude
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: for I had bad teachers.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Yeah, math, I.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Think your teachers make all the difference in the world
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: in math, it really does.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: I blame it on the teacher. I do love it.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: I do I love it.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: I think there's some teachers that they can explain it,
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: like Bill Belichick, like he can break it down for
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: you and so you can understand it. And I think
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: a lot of teachers when it comes to math, can't
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: I agree one hundred percent. And geometry was a prime
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: example for me of that. And I really liked the teacher.
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: His name was mister Ron Poscis. If he's still out there.
- 1:14:27Speaker 6: I emailed him at some point as an adult to
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: thank him.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: But loved the.
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: Guy and just super funny, made it fun. And I
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: had like a bad first test grade and I was
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: so disappointed and letting him down that it was like
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: a switch went off and I just started flashcards and.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: He will wear this geometry. But he was funny teacher.
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: Some of his favorite junior year, some of his he didn't,
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: but he had great ones like look it up in
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: your funking wagonoles Like he'd yell that at you if
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: you didn't know somebody to flip it over and do
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: it on your backside, you know, Like he.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Just was funny. He got high school humor.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: And it was also one of the classes where I
- 1:15:01Speaker 6: remember he was making a joke and everyone in the class.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Was laughing and I farted.
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: And like the whole class everybody heard it, but everybody
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: just kept laughing anyway, Like I wasn't even that embarrassed
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: because everybody was already laughing anyway. But he was a
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: great teacher, and I always think of that teacher and didn't.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: Do anything specific besides humor that they made you understand.
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: Well, I don't know that's a good Like we used
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: to do a thing called pick a quiz where you literally,
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: like in geometry, you know you have to know like
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: all the different proofs and stuff, and you know, what
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: is this rule And he'd go around you'd have to
- 1:15:28Speaker 6: pick one out of the hat and like the pressure beyond.
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: So I don't know if I mean, he definitely just
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: made me want to work harder for him, So I
- 1:15:34Speaker 6: don't know if it's I mean, I remember.
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: When I went on deductive Proof, I just got I
- 1:15:38Speaker 5: love I loved.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Him when I finally figured out algebra, like like it
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: was a light bulb that went off and it became
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: really easy. But it had nothing to do with what
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: the teacher was teaching.
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: You how every kid in my class felt and I
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: was the one that just didn't get it. Yeah, And
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: when we got to algebra two, it was like why
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: am I bother what? I couldn't do it in Aldred
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: And you know I.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Took in the eighth grade. Do you take college Matt, Like,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I got to college math and I'm like, this is
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: not for me.
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: So I had I had to take two maths sciences
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: and those you know, I didn't really love either one.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: Because I was a journal as a major, I didn't
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: have to do a lot of that. I took a
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: stats class thinking, you know, you know me that I'm
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: a geek, I can do.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: I got about.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: Halfway through the semester I was I was rocking it, okay,
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: And then the last half of the semester I was
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: like this. I was like trying to run the clock out,
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: like I was handing the ball off, you know, we
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: got to keep the clock running here.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: And I just made it with like a B minus
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: or something.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: Speaking to Dennis Larry. He was one of my professors
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: at Emerson. No really, he taught it was comedy right else,
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's punk class.
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: I actually in grad school. The only is in grad
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: school is grad school. But it was the only B
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: plus I got was in comedy writing, which was like
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: the thing. Everything else a's because it's easy.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: So what do they what do they teach you?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Like, typically comedy writing?
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, concept, So they would usually present you with like
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: a topic or you know, some type of thing and
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: then you'd have everyone would have to write off of that.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Yeah, we did some of that.
- 1:17:12Speaker 6: I mean mine was in you know, in television production,
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: so we had to write a sitcom script. So I
- 1:17:16Speaker 6: was learning about you know, comic beats and all that
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: kind of stuff. The rule of three is a big
- 1:17:21Speaker 6: one in comedy, like those kind of things.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: But I wrote a just shoot me specs script episode.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: So what's the rule of three? Like they're like always
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: repeating it's set up, set.
- 1:17:31Speaker 6: Up big, yeah, like you know or you know, when
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: you do callbacks too, we talk about just comedic devices.
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: Like I don't remember all of it, but but it
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: still pops up sometimes and you you know, like three
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: everything is three.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: It's a good thing.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: You don't get the Santa from the Rootolph, you'd like
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: write out a whole script and you'd say then be
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: like needs work, not funny.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: Right, Where's where's rabel mat any any word from him?
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: His hands are up either. I will say last night
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: we were think they ran a little late.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Last night.
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: We were supposed to interview I was, I think we'll
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: run it at halftime here I interviewed Vidarian Low. But
- 1:18:05Speaker 6: they were good forty five minutes an hour behind when
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: they thought they were.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: So maybe things are little taking a little extra time.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Make sure you hammer the jetsys.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Uh chatted Atlanta Rights and so. Marlon Humphreyes just said
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: on a podcast regarding the uncalled PI against Booty quote,
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: I honestly feel like I did tackle the bro. I'm
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: pretty sure that should have been a PI, but they
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: didn't call it. So I will take it where we
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: take it. That being said, when Paul mentions investigations into refereeing,
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: what would that consist of, I'm curious. I'm not familiar
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: with the league's method on that. There would never be an.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: Investigation, Yeah, not unless they Okay, here's.
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: Mike, I'm not doing this tomorrow. You're right, we're not,
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: but thank you.
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: Yesterday we tapped Garrett good Guy Award winner.
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: I've he been a good guy for.
- 1:18:57Speaker 8: You Yeah, yeah, great.
- 1:18:59Speaker 18: You know, I mean a lot of additions in the
- 1:19:01Speaker 18: offseason and Garrett was one of them. And he's he's
- 1:19:04Speaker 18: been out there in the middle of our offense and
- 1:19:07Speaker 18: helps coordinate everything that we do with the line of scrimmage.
- 1:19:12Speaker 18: You know, he's brought a lot of experience, brought a
- 1:19:16Speaker 18: lot of knowledge and you know, so again it has
- 1:19:19Speaker 18: really helped us and you know, we got hopefully a
- 1:19:23Speaker 18: lot of football left the play and you know, it's
- 1:19:25Speaker 18: a great honor for him, you know, to be able
- 1:19:29Speaker 18: to represent our football team to you guys and in
- 1:19:32Speaker 18: a positive way. So the disappointed I didn't win that
- 1:19:37Speaker 18: in my eight years here, Mike, how.
- 1:19:43Speaker 16: What is this week for the for you as as
- 1:19:44Speaker 16: a football team, but also on and off the field
- 1:19:48Speaker 16: with the players and their families.
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: And what they come over to.
- 1:19:51Speaker 18: It's just always a balance of you know that we
- 1:19:54Speaker 18: wage in these these holidays with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years,
- 1:20:02Speaker 18: trying to have a balance of getting the work done
- 1:20:05Speaker 18: that we need, trying to focus on what's important here
- 1:20:10Speaker 18: at work and practice in and then and when that
- 1:20:14Speaker 18: wraps up and we're done and being able to compartmentalize
- 1:20:17Speaker 18: and go and be with family and the people that
- 1:20:19Speaker 18: come in and that have helped our players, our coaches,
- 1:20:22Speaker 18: and our staff get to where they are.
- 1:20:24Speaker 8: None of us did this on our own.
- 1:20:25Speaker 18: There's a lot of people that have helped us get
- 1:20:29Speaker 18: here as made sacrifices, and so anytime that we can
- 1:20:32Speaker 18: have to spend with them on important days, I'm all
- 1:20:36Speaker 18: for it. But then the most importantly is what we
- 1:20:39Speaker 18: do on the field, Like you said on Sunday, there's
- 1:20:42Speaker 18: a lot.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Of cricks in there and make an impact as a way, the.
- 1:20:45Speaker 8: Whole lot of experience one, I mean Craig. Craig was
- 1:20:48Speaker 8: in college for a while.
- 1:20:49Speaker 18: We joke about it, but you know, he's that's he's
- 1:20:53Speaker 18: started and played a lot of games, seen a lot
- 1:20:55Speaker 18: of football. But I think he's continued to learn and
- 1:20:59Speaker 18: none of stand and develop and it's gotten better each
- 1:21:03Speaker 18: day and he's been durable and available. And you know,
- 1:21:05Speaker 18: the more that you're out there, the usually the better
- 1:21:08Speaker 18: that you get.
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: What made him the game captain, Like, what was the
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: thought process before we had felt that he wasn't.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: No, he was.
- 1:21:15Speaker 8: You've been tracking.
- 1:21:16Speaker 18: He's pretty close to Mike and you've been on him.
- 1:21:21Speaker 18: You know, it was our first you know, we had
- 1:21:22Speaker 18: gone through most everybody and you know there's other options,
- 1:21:27Speaker 18: I think, obviously, but just trying to I thought it
- 1:21:31Speaker 18: was the right time with Craig and you know the
- 1:21:35Speaker 18: amount of snaps that he's played for us and what
- 1:21:37Speaker 18: he's done, and you just trying to continue to build
- 1:21:44Speaker 18: the young players on this roster, whether that's on the
- 1:21:47Speaker 18: field and or developmental or a leadership role or whatever.
- 1:21:51Speaker 8: That may be. I guess that was just the idea.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: Robert was out last week.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Do you expect him to practice at all the sweet information.
- 1:22:00Speaker 18: I don't unless we get a Christmas miracle, Tony tim
- 1:22:04Speaker 18: starts walking or something.
- 1:22:06Speaker 12: Christian Gazalis mentioned that very early on you talked about
- 1:22:10Speaker 12: winning the division. Why was it important to express that,
- 1:22:14Speaker 12: you know, to the group, put that out there early
- 1:22:17Speaker 12: in your tenure.
- 1:22:22Speaker 18: I think when just to make sure that everybody understood
- 1:22:26Speaker 18: what the expectations were. That there's a lot of ways
- 1:22:30Speaker 18: to win football games in this league, and with a
- 1:22:33Speaker 18: lot of different players and a lot of different lineups
- 1:22:36Speaker 18: and a lot of different schemes and however we need
- 1:22:39Speaker 18: to do to win football games. But that was going
- 1:22:41Speaker 18: to be the goal. And making sure that they all
- 1:22:46Speaker 18: understood that, making sure that they they knew that this
- 1:22:51Speaker 18: was the priority. And that's what we've tried to do.
- 1:22:54Speaker 18: Now we haven't done it, you know, we still have
- 1:22:57Speaker 18: opportunities to do it, but just making sure. But I
- 1:23:01Speaker 18: understood what the expectations were.
- 1:23:03Speaker 8: Artist is ready to take the bigger whifload.
- 1:23:07Speaker 18: Yeah, I mean again, we'll take him off the field
- 1:23:09Speaker 18: and then somebody else will.
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: You know, well, this guy's not getting at it, you know.
- 1:23:13Speaker 18: I mean, we we only got one football so we'll
- 1:23:16Speaker 18: try to you know, but he is prepared. It was
- 1:23:19Speaker 18: unfortunate his first week that he busted his tail to
- 1:23:22Speaker 18: get in there on that Thursday night game and we
- 1:23:24Speaker 18: handed to him huge run, questionable holding call, and you know,
- 1:23:29Speaker 18: he had some other plays in that first game. And
- 1:23:32Speaker 18: I actually joked with him yesterday, I said, hopefully, I mean,
- 1:23:35Speaker 18: you know, if you get in there, we rip a
- 1:23:37Speaker 18: couple of runs off there, you make a couple of
- 1:23:39Speaker 18: plays that they don't get called back. And you know,
- 1:23:41Speaker 18: he was laughing, but he's done nothing but come in
- 1:23:44Speaker 18: and be a professional and learn and be ready to go,
- 1:23:47Speaker 18: and I know that when his opportunity comes, he'll take
- 1:23:50Speaker 18: advantage of it.
- 1:23:51Speaker 19: Coach, talk about their Mumford and the job he's done
- 1:23:54Speaker 19: in your six on line packages coming in. You've been
- 1:23:58Speaker 19: doing a lot more of that this season with that
- 1:24:00Speaker 19: twenty two rhinal stuff. Just talk about him and what
- 1:24:02Speaker 19: he's brought to the team.
- 1:24:04Speaker 8: Hear that, Sophie about scared me up there?
- 1:24:06Speaker 20: Yet?
- 1:24:06Speaker 8: Do you hear that? Get you to get that tenor.
- 1:24:13Speaker 6: There you go?
- 1:24:15Speaker 8: There you go, don't do that.
- 1:24:19Speaker 18: I saw a different there, I think than the one
- 1:24:22Speaker 18: that left here, and again.
- 1:24:26Speaker 8: I havn't spent time in another team. Came here and
- 1:24:32Speaker 8: I think it.
- 1:24:32Speaker 18: Was okay, and then getting claimed by Cleveland coming back,
- 1:24:37Speaker 18: I think we all, including Fayer, saw a different version
- 1:24:40Speaker 18: of him, one that was much more prepared, ready to
- 1:24:45Speaker 18: go physically and has done that role before. It's helped
- 1:24:52Speaker 18: us hopefully, and you know, go weather and play tackle
- 1:24:56Speaker 18: or post spots.
- 1:24:58Speaker 8: On the offensive line.
- 1:24:59Speaker 18: So I think we've just seen a different version if
- 1:25:02Speaker 18: they are, and I think he's trying to take advantage
- 1:25:04Speaker 18: of his opportunities.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: What stands out to you from the Jets play style
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: and where they'll.
- 1:25:08Speaker 18: Challenge you well up front. I really enjoy watching their
- 1:25:12Speaker 18: offensive line. I think it's a it's a good group.
- 1:25:14Speaker 18: It's a very young and talented group. On the outside,
- 1:25:18Speaker 18: it's a I love the play demeanor of the guys
- 1:25:21Speaker 18: inside with Myers and tipped in and uh Simpson and
- 1:25:27Speaker 18: they they they come off the ball. They they're good
- 1:25:29Speaker 18: in their combinations. So they really allow you know, most
- 1:25:34Speaker 18: their runners but mostly Briest to you know, get going.
- 1:25:37Speaker 18: There's not a whole lot of first contact and he's
- 1:25:40Speaker 18: able to. You know, the average is over four point
- 1:25:43Speaker 18: two yards of carry. So I think that, you know,
- 1:25:47Speaker 18: I like that group. Just you know, they moved this
- 1:25:50Speaker 18: last time they ran a football against us. The recipe
- 1:25:53Speaker 18: for winning is not going to be to run for
- 1:25:55Speaker 18: sixty five yards and give up one hundred and forty
- 1:25:57Speaker 18: yards on the ground. I've told the team that multiple times.
- 1:26:01Speaker 18: So Athletic defense young, playing some young guys obviously with
- 1:26:09Speaker 18: McDonald and and him continuing to get better and his
- 1:26:12Speaker 18: length and Jermaine Johnson and you know Briggs and then
- 1:26:16Speaker 18: obviously Phillips is the studying case. And their linebackers are fast.
- 1:26:19Speaker 18: They run their fourth tackle for lost percentage. So if
- 1:26:24Speaker 18: you don't come off on them, or you know, you don't,
- 1:26:27Speaker 18: you don't get somebody up to him, they're going to
- 1:26:29Speaker 18: make the tackle and they're gonna gonna be there in
- 1:26:30Speaker 18: a hurry. So you know, we'll have to we'll have
- 1:26:35Speaker 18: to do a great job of trying to get somebody
- 1:26:38Speaker 18: on those linebackers.
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: I know he's had a or he had else starting
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: to the regular season.
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: Both people from impressed you the most about being the
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: way he's kind of settled the job.
- 1:26:50Speaker 18: I just, you know, he's done a nice job. He's
- 1:26:55Speaker 18: you know, in accurate. I think that he's kept a
- 1:26:58Speaker 18: good demeanor. I think he's practiced well as far as
- 1:27:01Speaker 18: just mentally and then talking about the weather and you know,
- 1:27:06Speaker 18: finding you know, whatever that is. You know, Tom's coach
- 1:27:09Speaker 18: kickers and all different climates, but I haven't and I said,
- 1:27:12Speaker 18: so whatever the plan is to prepare to kick in
- 1:27:14Speaker 18: the weather and all these different things.
- 1:27:17Speaker 8: That he's trying to do or has done.
- 1:27:19Speaker 18: And you know, I just think he's got a pretty
- 1:27:23Speaker 18: steadying demeanor and has work to improve and the consistency,
- 1:27:31Speaker 18: you know, with his approach and all those other things.
- 1:27:34Speaker 16: Micha Romano was saying that he maybe enjoyed a blitz
- 1:27:38Speaker 16: pick up in the series before the final series more
- 1:27:41Speaker 16: than the twenty one yard touchdown run. Hows that made
- 1:27:43Speaker 16: you feel as a coach when you hear the running
- 1:27:45Speaker 16: backs talking like that.
- 1:27:47Speaker 8: Well, they have a critical job.
- 1:27:48Speaker 18: And I you know, anybody, not anybody, but most players
- 1:27:52Speaker 18: in the league, if you hand it off and there's
- 1:27:53Speaker 18: a hole, they're going to score. But very few can
- 1:27:57Speaker 18: one handle the mental challenge of what the protection is
- 1:28:01Speaker 18: and and what the scan is. And you know, I've
- 1:28:04Speaker 18: got will to week safety or I've got you know,
- 1:28:07Speaker 18: whoever you have, and being able to some of these
- 1:28:10Speaker 18: presentations that the defenses present. You know, you may be
- 1:28:14Speaker 18: up in the line of scrimmage and have to get
- 1:28:15Speaker 18: back out and be able to block somebody and then
- 1:28:18Speaker 18: physically being able to do it and stand up to
- 1:28:20Speaker 18: them and block them and stop their charge and not
- 1:28:23Speaker 18: drop your head and all these different things. And so
- 1:28:25Speaker 18: I think that that is a something that he does
- 1:28:29Speaker 18: very well. And again, when your best players the quarterback,
- 1:28:33Speaker 18: it's important that you protect them. So I appreciate that,
- 1:28:38Speaker 18: but I don't that doesn't surprise me.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: Their kickoff, Come on, you just got right you, come on,
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: what do you see from their kickoff?
- 1:28:47Speaker 8: Come onicle?
- 1:28:49Speaker 11: A couple of.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: A couple of coaches and quarterbacks have weighed in on
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: the merits of pure progression passing against coverage.
- 1:28:57Speaker 19: Reads sort of where do you.
- 1:29:00Speaker 18: The guy that's open in the progression and where that
- 1:29:03Speaker 18: progression takes you? The first one that you see that
- 1:29:06Speaker 18: usually leads to positive yards.
- 1:29:09Speaker 8: It limits negative plays. Obviously, there's times.
- 1:29:11Speaker 18: Where we're gonna have to hold the ball, move guys
- 1:29:14Speaker 18: down the field and progress. So I try to keep
- 1:29:20Speaker 18: it as simple as possible, because I think that holding
- 1:29:25Speaker 18: the ball in this league just leads to turnovers, to sacks,
- 1:29:28Speaker 18: to longer yardage, and the more that the quarterback gets hit,
- 1:29:34Speaker 18: the more negative things have a chance to happen. Turnovers,
- 1:29:38Speaker 18: you know, all the other obvious things.
- 1:29:40Speaker 8: Sorry, God, did kickoff for turns for the Jets?
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: They get leave the league.
- 1:29:44Speaker 11: Get kickoff?
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: Return to average is what are you seeing from them on.
- 1:29:47Speaker 18: That great scheme? Excellent players, very good returners. We'll have
- 1:29:54Speaker 18: to cover with a purpose this week. And you know
- 1:29:59Speaker 18: obvious the you know one running a running back that
- 1:30:04Speaker 18: really runs through arm tackles and has a good job.
- 1:30:07Speaker 8: He's done a great job of doing that.
- 1:30:10Speaker 18: Mitchell obviously he's great putt returner, but those skills have
- 1:30:14Speaker 18: translated over to the kickoff returns. So as much as
- 1:30:17Speaker 18: they kick away from you know, the nay that they
- 1:30:20Speaker 18: now Mitchell's getting a lot of those or Williams is getting.
- 1:30:24Speaker 19: A lot of those.
- 1:30:25Speaker 18: So we'll have to make sure that we're good that
- 1:30:28Speaker 18: the space is limited and again one guy is probably
- 1:30:32Speaker 18: not going to be able to do it.
- 1:30:35Speaker 8: And get them down.
- 1:30:35Speaker 18: And that's been Special teams has been a very very
- 1:30:38Speaker 18: strong point for these guys. Fake to punt, you know,
- 1:30:41Speaker 18: the kickof the putt returns has been a weapon. And
- 1:30:44Speaker 18: you know fourteen yard average, you know, two touchdowns, one
- 1:30:49Speaker 18: called back. So this is these are making sure that
- 1:30:53Speaker 18: we're matching everything that they do from a special team
- 1:30:55Speaker 18: standpoint critical phase. But thank you guys and Mary Kraus stress,
- 1:31:00Speaker 18: I appreciate everything you guys do.
- 1:31:02Speaker 9: Keep it.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Tell you guys, watch what happened all right? Yes?
- 1:31:07Speaker 6: Uh, your performance, you know the performance like sexual excuse me,
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: Willy are you saying or something?
- 1:31:14Speaker 13: Roll in my gear?
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: So what you're saying to me, I'm sorry you're gear,
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: Willie my stick.
- 1:31:19Speaker 6: He's not going to say the stick in front of
- 1:31:22Speaker 6: the children.
- 1:31:22Speaker 4: Does he hey our friend that we were just talking
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: about before we went I'm there. Marcopello already posted on Instagram.
- 1:31:27Speaker 12: Get the tree down, that's over, Take the lights off.
- 1:31:29Speaker 20: Turn I'm gravy and I'm graeve about you whatever you
- 1:31:35Speaker 20: want you.

- 1:31:38Speaker 3: and today. Most podcasts are putting out nothing, what or
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: best of shows. The radio was putting their c team
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: out there no offense. Paul as someone who has.
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: To tomorrow, I want to look it was fighting the eye.
- 1:31:51Speaker 20: I don't want to tell him what a sheep lying
- 1:31:53Speaker 20: no good Robbie for blushing mollife, snake licking, dirt eating
- 1:31:57Speaker 20: and bread over stuff, ignorant but fucking dom kissing, brainless, homeless, heartless, fatass,
- 1:32:05Speaker 20: bug eyed Steple like it's funny, wormhaded sack of monkey.
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: He is a know yah, I'm just tuned in live
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: for the.

- 1:32:14Speaker 5: Oh whoa excellent.

- 1:32:19Speaker 3: you know, sitting by the yule tide and uh listening
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: to pursue.
- 1:32:24Speaker 16: Sitting by the yule log, Sitting by the yule tide,
- 1:32:29Speaker 16: some people are by the ocean.
- 1:32:31Speaker 6: Oh okay, not the river, though, no river wouldn't have
- 1:32:34Speaker 6: a Yule tide.
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: Correct to everyone out there listening, have a merry Christmas.
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: That's what you celebrate.
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: Merry Christmas.

- 1:33:09Speaker 6: It's time for the co Pilot Question of the Week,
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: presented by Microsoft Copilot. Where every day is Game Day
- 1:33:13Speaker 6: and where every decision is powered by insight and innovation.
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: Microsoft technology helps to make decisions faster, Insight sharper, and
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: strategy is more adaptive. All right, guys, this week we're
- 1:33:21Speaker 6: talking about Pro Bowl. Drake May made the Pro Bowl.
- 1:33:24Speaker 6: Christian Zaliz made the Pro Bowl.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: He stomped me.
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: Who stops me?
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: Who are the top three Patriots of all time that
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: have gone to the.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Most Pro Bowls?
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: Tom Brady, Tom Brady?
- 1:33:35Speaker 8: How many?
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: This is just with the Patriots too.
- 1:33:38Speaker 6: I have to clarify if anyone's going to check my
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: math on this seventeen fourteen, fourteen times number two. Anybody
- 1:33:44Speaker 6: any guesses on two and three, I'd say John John
- 1:33:48Speaker 6: Hannah is third with nine Pro Bowls.
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: Okay, it's one more, Pippot, we were.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: Just talking tip it actually five five down.
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: He's tied with Richard Seymour, Nope, Wes Welker, Gronk, Will
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: fork uh Gostowski all five at four one more guy,
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: you're thinking off the beaten path.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Mike Rabel was just.
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: Talking special teams.
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: Oh Slater, Slater, Oh yeah.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Ten Pro Bowls.
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: So oh shore, there you have it.
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: So Mike, Mike clearly has been angry that I've been
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: getting the answers, so he decided to go. He decided
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: to find something that one of the very few things
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: that I have no interest in, my special team, no
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: Pro Bowls, I could care less. And there you go.
- 1:34:30Speaker 6: Congratulations. So yeah, there you have it.
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: All right, Well, we're waiting for Alex.
- 1:34:35Speaker 5: Alex coming out of this, like several times during the
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: show that she's working on something with Ramandre Stevenson and
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: she was not taking over all the time.
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: Well, she's dedicated, and she she writes, really.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: Well, okay, all right, all right, well we'll get it.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: It's that time of the week, the week, the week.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: And cue.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: All right, Paul, how do we do?
- 1:35:00Speaker 6: So?
- 1:35:00Speaker 5: As I eluded, Fred and Evan twelve and four, Alex
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: and Paul eleven and five, Mike eight and eight. However,
- 1:35:11Speaker 5: with the spread, Fred joins Alex at eleven four and
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: one in second place, time in the second place, third
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: place behind Evan at twelve three and one. Wow, Evan
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: twelve three and one with the spread bread Evan really
- 1:35:29Speaker 5: making a charge, but he's he's well in the rears.
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: Yeah you know.
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: Mike nine six and one, good job.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: Respect you.
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: And feeling the pressure of trying to catch the uncatchable
- 1:35:44Speaker 5: Freddie feels Paul eight seven and one. So dropping three
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: games at this time, this is not the time of
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: year to be dropping three games.
- 1:35:53Speaker 19: In a week.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: It was cold in the last week. You couldn't you
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: didn't perform in the cold.
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: I think that's an excellent point. Did you notice how
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: cold I was during the post games? You remember how
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: cold we were?
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: I was cold.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: You need to get the Scooba suit.
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: It was so much like germ infestation going on.
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: I think we talked the bullet though, because I still
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: feel great.
- 1:36:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I think my tickle is kind of gone, so
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: I don't know. We'll see anyway. The overall standings, Fred
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: and Alex remain well, no, they are tied now because
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: Fred pick picked up a game one fifty six eighty
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: three and one, so that tied in first place. Paul
- 1:36:31Speaker 5: is in third at one forty nine ninety and one,
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: Mike one forty five ninety four and one, and Evan
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: won forty four to ninety five in one.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: Oh god, I can't go double. I can't go double.
- 1:36:41Speaker 5: Last place with the spread. Freddie feels one twenty nine,
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: one oh eight and three. There was another push this week, uh,
- 1:36:50Speaker 5: Paul one twenty two, one fifteen in three. Evans strong
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: week puts him over the five hundred market at one
- 1:36:58Speaker 5: nineteen one eighteen and three, Alex one sixteen one twenty
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: one and three, and deuce one oh one. Good congratulations
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: vendor for breaking one hundred, one thirty six and three.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: All right, Well, we got to two weeks to go
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: in the regular season.
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: I can't I can't be in last place in both
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: I got a hold of it, an ar.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Okay, Well, you're gonna have to be creative with your
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: picks then this week.
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: So yeah, next year, I'll go first and we'll see
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: if that makes any difference.
- 1:37:29Speaker 6: All right, just saying I never complained about having to
- 1:37:32Speaker 6: go first.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: It was the that's true, you know.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: But yeah, you've resigned yourself to.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: Being I've also resigned myself. Right.
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: All right, Well we start off with Christmas at one
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: o'clock on Netflix. Remember that though this is on Netflix. Uh,
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: it's Dallas six eight and one at Washington four and eleven,
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: Dallas by seven.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: That's by seven.
- 1:37:54Speaker 13: Huh.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: All right, I'm gonna take Dallas to win. I'm gonna
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: take the points.
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: Uh short week, Christmas, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: Dallas still got a chance. No, So they're out of
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: the playoffs. I believe they were eliminated, right, Okay, I
- 1:38:07Speaker 3: didn't know.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: That's another one. Don't check it. Yeah, just go ahead it.
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: Well, I mean that plays into a lot of these picks.
- 1:38:14Speaker 5: I believe that they were eliminated. Are they six eight
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: and one?
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: They are eliminated?
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: Yeah, so we're gonna need that, Matt. So, I don't
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: know where you got that info from but keep that
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: website up so we can figure this out.
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: All right, So Alex is not here, so I will
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: actually echo Deuce's pick. I will take Dallas to win,
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: but I'll take the points. And I think there's a
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: chance that Washington wins this game outright, But I'm not
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: quite ready to go there.
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm there as well. I'll take Dallas to win,
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: but I'll take the points. It's Christmas. Washington doesn't want
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: to No one wants to be there, you know, nobody
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: wants to be there. But they also don't want to
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: play poorly in front of their fans.
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: No one wants to be there for any of these games.
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: To be honest with you, I don't think anybody League
- 1:38:57Speaker 5: wants to play on Christmas.
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: I thought. I think it's funny. People were like, you know,
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: years ago, they shouldn't make the teams playing Christmas this
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: year it's the games aren't good enough on Christmas.
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: Well, I think it's ridiculous that they're not only playing
- 1:39:10Speaker 5: on Christmas, they're adding games on Christmas.
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: Thursday, four thirty on Netflix, it's Detroit eight and seven
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: at Minnesota seven and.
- 1:39:20Speaker 5: Eight, Detroit by seven and a half. Mike no, I
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: know it's unfair when Mike makes picks without knowing.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: No, jj M nine.
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: And what are the implications.
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: For this game any well, Detroit has to win there
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: in dire straits.
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: And Minnesota's out.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah. In the regard, I'll take
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Detroit and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. I saw that
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: Max Brosemer guy play that game in Seattle and it
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: may have been the worst quarterback performance I've watched. So
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: I'm going to take Detroit both ways.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Detroit both ways, all right. The third
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: of the triple header, Christmas Night, eight fifteen on Prime.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a different stream.
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: Yeah, this is on Prime, not Netflix. The twelve and
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: three Broncos are at the six and nine Chiefs. We're
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: looking for a little Christmas miracle here.
- 1:40:18Speaker 5: You'll need America quarterback denver By thirteen and a half.
- 1:40:23Speaker 5: No Gardner, minshew, it'll be the guy from South Dakota
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: State there.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: I couldn't do I couldn't do it.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: Olu Kanla thirteen and a half, Ola denver By thirteen
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: that Kansas City.
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well they allowed it because this is such a hostmatch.
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: And because Mahomes is out. Yeah, that was that the
- 1:40:46Speaker 5: line is right, Denver was playing on the road because
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: out it was originally scheduled to be in Dens.
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:40:52Speaker 6: You guys see the deal that Kansas City got from
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: Kansas to move. I mean, guys, over a billion dollars,
- 1:40:57Speaker 6: like everything.
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: Can I ask a dumb question out?
- 1:41:00Speaker 9: You know?
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: Are we in a safe space?
- 1:41:03Speaker 5: It depends on what you're why not get mocked and
- 1:41:05Speaker 5: ridiculed for this. The Kansas City, Missouri, right and the
- 1:41:11Speaker 5: Kansas City, Kansas. Is it the same actual city but
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: it just is on the overlaps both states?
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: Or is it two separate cities?
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: I always thought it was too separate, but separate cities.
- 1:41:22Speaker 5: I always thought it was two separate cities. And I'm
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: I'm you know, I'm asking.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: For basically, they could just shift stadium over. So it's
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: not a dumb question, is what you're saying. I don't
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: think a lot of people didn't even know.
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: No, I knew there was a difference between Kansas City,
- 1:41:36Speaker 5: Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas. But I always thought they
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: were two separate.
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: And I thought so too.
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: I mean, it is, but now I'm being.
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: Told that it's the same. It just happens to ye
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: be cut by the state border.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: This feels like we're really stupid right now, I think
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: it is. I think it is right on the It
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: is right.
- 1:41:51Speaker 6: According to the Google it says two separate bordering cities
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: and different Yeah.
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: They are bordered, separate bordering cities in different states.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: So they border. Yeah, they too, at least a quarters.
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: But they're separate. Well, they have to be separate because
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: of the government, right, like they can't. One is in the.
- 1:42:06Speaker 5: State, but they but they are actually like if there
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: was no state, they will be one state. It be
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: one city. Yeah, yeah, okay, all right, I thought it
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: was two separate Yeah.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: Like different locations like miles apart.
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: Yeah. So anyway, Denver's favored by thirteen and a half.
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: Thirteen and a half, definitely say Denver to win. That's
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: just a big number on a Christmas game. And shoot,
- 1:42:29Speaker 6: I'll lay it.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: I'll lay the thirteen.
- 1:42:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I am going to as well. Kansas City proud team.
- 1:42:37Speaker 5: A lot of wins that have nothing to play for,
- 1:42:40Speaker 5: probably not real happy to be playing in this game.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: The fans aren't gonna be happy.
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to take Denver to win both ways.
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: I'm going to take the points, and the reason being
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: that in the event that there is a Christmas miracle,
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: at least I can win that part of sure the selection.
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: So I'm basically hedging it.
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, now get any on you.
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: Now we move to Saturday. So we're playing Friday, Thursday, Saturday,
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: and Sunday and Monday this week.
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: Yeah assume, wow.
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: Get ready because that's probably what it is going to
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: do that last week too, did we did we do
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: that Thursday, Saturday, Sunday?
- 1:43:18Speaker 14: Oh?
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Yeah, we had the Saturday game Saturday at four thirty.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: It's Houston ten and five at the Chargers eleven and.
- 1:43:25Speaker 5: Four, Black by two and a half.
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: I think the Chargers get a lot of respect that
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: they may not deserve, but anyway.
- 1:43:34Speaker 6: Go yeah, I'm going to go with Houston in this game.
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: I know that's probably bad for the Patriots, but I
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: just what respect. Yeah, I'm gonna take this their favorite
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: over Houston.
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: They've been better than Houston all year.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: No, they haven't. Not lately, No, I don't think so.
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: I disagree.
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: What's their record?
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: Eleven and four, which Houston's record, But I'm telling you late,
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: don't you think Houston's played better lately.
- 1:43:56Speaker 5: No, they just barely squeaked by the Raiders at home
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: last week.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: I think while the Chargers went to Dallas and.
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: Everyone's a scare to Houston, I'm told.
- 1:44:05Speaker 5: But that See, that's your problem is you're listening.
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: To the not A lot of people are say I'm sorry, Mike,
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: who did you take?
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the upset. I'm gonna take Houston.
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: Good, Mike, I just.
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: Think they're better.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Houston as well. I'll in all seriousness,
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: I've been very impressed with the Chargers' resilience of being
- 1:44:28Speaker 5: able to say, I know everybody thinks that we're done
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: because of all our injuries, but they just keep I mean,
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: they beat the Eagles, they beat the Cowboys, they just
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: keep winning these games. And I kind of agree with
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: I don't think Houston's better. I think the Chargers have
- 1:44:43Speaker 5: a better team, but they're just beat the crap. But
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: I've been impressed with the way they've played.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: So what did the email of remind us that we're
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: really rooting for the Chargers to beat Houston?
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: Yes, because that would mean the Chargers would want to
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: play hard in the.
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: Last I'm going to root for the charge. I'm picking
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: the Chargers to good. There we go, Chargers win this game.
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: But I also think there's something about Harbaugh.
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: I think, you know, I think their defense has played
- 1:45:08Speaker 5: really well.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: There.
- 1:45:09Speaker 5: Defensive coordinator is getting some consideration, you know, as a
- 1:45:12Speaker 5: head coach candidate. They've been impressive. The Chargers. That's a
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: that's a pretty good team. I thought that they would crumble.
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: I've been ridiculously impressed with Herbert's toughness this year, not
- 1:45:23Speaker 5: just because of the broken hands, but the way he's played.
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Harbaugh might have the right messaging for
- 1:45:29Speaker 3: this time of the year, you know.
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: Just so weird.
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: Saturday at eight, This is on Prime. Oh, by the way,
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: that game was on NFL Network. This game, I think
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: is on Peacock. Hold on, I don't think I hold
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: the phone the phone. Yes, this game is on Peacock.
- 1:45:49Speaker 5: Oh no, I think I tried to do Paramount last
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: night and it wouldn't let me on. Maybe I do
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: get Peacock. Yeah.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Baltimore at green Bay, Yeah, Baltimore seven and eight at
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: green Bay, nine to five and more.
- 1:46:00Speaker 5: Green Bay by three. And I do not know the
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: status Mike of a lot of the Green Bay players.
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: I'm not sure about Jordan Love.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: Leon Arrison's out. Uh what about Lamar?
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: Yeah, Lamar as well didn't practice.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just gonna.
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: By the way, you said Kittle's healthy and the report
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: is that he is not healthy.
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, they had a good game the other night. I'm
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: gonna take green Bay at home. I'll lay the points.
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: Green Bay.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: I will take green Bay.
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: Baltimore is I'm gonna take Green Bay as well.
- 1:46:37Speaker 5: If their coach doesn't want to win, then I'm gonna
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: guess they're not gonna win.
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna.
- 1:46:42Speaker 5: I think he should be fired. I think that's a
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: fireable offense. You're you're playing for your playoff life, and
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: your best player is hurt and your second best player
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: is standing on the sideline and the coat next to you,
- 1:46:50Speaker 5: and you claim that it wasn't what you wanted. I
- 1:46:54Speaker 5: think you need to go. And I think the I
- 1:46:56Speaker 5: think Heartall was a really good coach. I just think
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: it's time.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Wow, I'm gonna take Green Bay as well. Hard to
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: argue with that, though. Now we move over to Sunday,
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: the traditional Sunday at One games Seattle is twelve and
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: three at Carolina eight and seven on CBS. By the way,
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: every time Jim Nance does a broadcast, does somebody just
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: die the week before? Like he's always like, you know,
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: we've just lost one of our CBS family and it's
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: some guy that you know, nobody knows except people that
- 1:47:30Speaker 3: work at CBA. Like it happens like every time he's
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: on a broadcast, and not just football, the Masters or whatever.
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: It's it's like this always somebody he's memorializing.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: It works. A lot of people are always dying. I
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: guess what do you got.
- 1:47:44Speaker 5: Paul, Carolina. I'm sorry Seattle by seven seven.
- 1:47:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna take Seattle to win, but I'm gonna
- 1:47:50Speaker 6: take the points for your Are they in.
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: First place right now?
- 1:47:55Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: First place? Yes? Well that wind doesn't look so pathetic, now,
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: does it, Paul?
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: It does not My good job by v.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: Or whatever the DV o p A is.
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: So when Seattle wins this game, that you'll go back
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: to have faced two teams with winning records. This is
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: a tough one. They don't. Carolina does not need this game,
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: I believe it or not. It all comes down to
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: the last game for them. They if they would were
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: to win, I'm gonna do the I'm going to do
- 1:48:25Speaker 5: the deuce, which is not a good thing considering his
- 1:48:28Speaker 5: track record. But I'm gonna take Seattle to win in
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: Carolina to cover and it's only two seven oh seven.
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: Yeah, big spread on the road. That's the way I'm
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: going to go to I'm I was tempted to pick
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: Carolina out right.
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: The Rams and Niners need Seattle to lose that.
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: Yeah. Sunday at one, Arizona three and twelve at Cincinnati
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: five and ten on Fox.
- 1:48:52Speaker 5: Cincinnati by seven, Oh yeah.
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: This is an easy one.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: Gross. I'll take Cincinnati lay the points.
- 1:49:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to as well. I look forward to
- 1:49:04Speaker 5: the game starting and whoever does the announcing telling me
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: how great Jacoby Brissett's been playing despite the fact that
- 1:49:10Speaker 5: they lose every game.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: Bengals.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Bengals. Joe Burrow on a mission to show he's
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: having fun, right just to you know, quiet the people.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: So although he started it, you just have to shouldn't
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: have to try it. He started it, he did, you know,
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: it's not made up? Yeah, So Cincinnati both weighs. Sunday
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: at one on CBS Pittsburgh nine and six at Cleveland
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: three and twelve.
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: Pittsburgh by three, and I believe a win would clinch
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: the division.
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: Correct, Yes, because Baltimore needs Cleveland to win.
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: Right somehow, Pittsburgh has a chance to close it out,
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: close out the division, and no DK.
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: He suspended. I'll take Pittsburgh and Poe.
- 1:50:00Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: I'm tempted by just them. I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: I'll lay them.
- 1:50:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take Pittsburgh both ways. Although this is one
- 1:50:08Speaker 5: of those Fred Kirsh Division games on the road, you
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: never know, but Pittsburgh's got too much to play for.
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: They have to they have to win this one.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll go with Pittsburgh as well. Sunday at one
- 1:50:18Speaker 3: on Fox, Jacksonville eleven and four at Indy eight and seven.
- 1:50:23Speaker 5: Jacksonville by six and a half. M M yeah, I mean, Mike,
- 1:50:29Speaker 5: Jacksonville owns, Indy owns.
- 1:50:32Speaker 6: Yeah, I know I was gonna see Jacksonville anyway. Nice
- 1:50:34Speaker 6: story of Philip Rose. I mean, they're not winning, they're
- 1:50:36Speaker 6: giving up a ton of points now too, So I'm
- 1:50:38Speaker 6: gonna take them Jacksonville.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: I'll lay the points.
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take Jacksonville both ways as well, and
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: I agree about Philip Rivers.
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: I thought he played pretty well the other night.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I will go Jacksonville as well. Both ways. Sunday
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: at one on Fox, Tampa Bay seven and eight at
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: Miami six and nine.
- 1:50:59Speaker 5: Uh, Tampa by five and a half.
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: Check real, they getting a lot of respect Tampa is.
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: Yeah, they have not been eliminated. They're seven and eight, so.
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: They need they need to win any Carolina to well.
- 1:51:11Speaker 5: I think they just need to win. Yeah, you say
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: five and a half, five and a half, five and
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: a half, you I'll take. I'll take Tampa.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: I'll lay the points.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: I hear your Tampa is in a funk.
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: I hear your Tampa's in a fine I know you know.
- 1:51:27Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Tampa to win. But I'll take the
- 1:51:29Speaker 5: points that I attempted to take the upset but quin
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: yours man.
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that was tough.
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: I'll take the points as well. I'll take the points
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: as well. Tampa will squeak by. You know now that
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: Drake May is in the league, Drake Drake May May,
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: We're not so dependent on making the league good with
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: Baker in it.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: Oh oh wow, that's a change, you know.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: So Yeah, now, now we've got Drake May.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: So you can't say Drake Drake May May. You gotta
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: say Drake Drake May May. That's the cadence. You can't.
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: I don't really understand it still, and I've had three
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: different versions of the explanation. So I'm going to stay
- 1:52:06Speaker 5: out of His nickname is Drake May. My guess is
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: it's not for me, So I'm going to stay in
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: my lane.
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: It's for all of us.
- 1:52:12Speaker 8: Paul.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Sunday at one on CBS, it's New Orleans five
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: and ten at Tennessee three and twelve.
- 1:52:21Speaker 5: New Orleans by two and a half. Give Kellen Moore
- 1:52:24Speaker 5: some credit.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they haven't given up.
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: They've been they've been winning games.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:52:29Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, probably not necessarily what they want to
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: be doing, but first year coach, trying to establish something.
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Tennessee. The upset at home
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: cam Ward.
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: So I'm going to take the Saints. But I have
- 1:52:47Speaker 5: a feeling Mike is right. This is one of those
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: games where everybody's like, oh, you know, the Saints are
- 1:52:51Speaker 5: I'm playing. This is a game quote unquote a bad
- 1:52:55Speaker 5: team is supposed to win on the road, and they
- 1:52:58Speaker 5: cough it up. I'm going to take the Saints because
- 1:53:00Speaker 5: I think Tennessee is that bad.
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: I am too. I'm gonna take the Saints, all right.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: Now we skip over the Patriots at one o'clock and
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: we moved to four oh five on CBS. The Giants.
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: No, please, no, what is the worst match.
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: To the Giants? Two and thirteen? At the right is
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: two and thirteen?
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:53:20Speaker 5: It is by one and a half.
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: The toilet Bowl.
- 1:53:22Speaker 5: No brock Bowers, No brock Bowers. Someone else got on
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: ir too.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: Boil boy, Oh boy? What to do? What to do? Ah?
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: I'm just I'm gonna go with Geno Smith and the Raiders.
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: I'm gonna lose this game. No matter who I pick,
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Giants. Don't ask me why. I
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: have no rational explanation.
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Giants as well. Now we
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: go to four to twenty five. When's the last time
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: there were only two games in the four o'clock window?
- 1:53:56Speaker 3: Because this would be the Christmas Because there's not enough games.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: They're all being played on Thursday, right h four on
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: Fox Philadelphia ten and five at Buffalo eleven and four
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: all Patriots eyes will be on.
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: This case is basically a nationally televised game. The whole
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: country's going to get this game, except for New York
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: and Vegas. Right, Buffalo by one and a half.
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta I gotta do it. I'm gonna take Philly.
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: I'm a little bit concerned about Josh Allen on his foot.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: I'll take the Eagles.
- 1:54:27Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Buffalo. I don't I kind of agree
- 1:54:30Speaker 5: with Fred. I don't think the Eagles look quite right
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: to me. I don't think they looked all that good
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: against Washington the other day in that Saturday game. I
- 1:54:39Speaker 5: thought they I think if the Redskins, I'm sorry, the
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: Commanders played, you know a little bit better, I think
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: they could have pulled off an upset. So I'll take
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: I'll take Buffalo at home.
- 1:54:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna I have to take Buffalo. Obviously, I'm
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: rooting for Philadelphia, and sometimes when that happens, I just
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: picked them. Anyway, I can't do it. It's just too
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: this is too easy for Buffalo. Sunday Night eight twenty
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: on NB Sure, good matchup, Chicago eleven and four at
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: the forty nine Ers eleven and four, Chicago's already wrapped
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: up their division.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: Is that true. I don't think that's true.
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: I thought they did or maybe they just clinched the playoffs.
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: They did something they either maybe they just clinched the
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: playoff birth.
- 1:55:27Speaker 5: Maybe they they may have clinched.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: They're just playoff birth.
- 1:55:30Speaker 5: Okay, the Niners by three. The Niners. The Niners and
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: Seahawks control their destiny. If the Niners went out, they're
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: the number one seed. If the Seahawks went out, they're
- 1:55:43Speaker 5: the number one seed. The Rams need some help.
- 1:55:47Speaker 6: Da, I'm gonna take San Francisco. That's a that's a
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: good game though. Sunday night, I'll fard to checking that
- 1:55:51Speaker 6: one out. I'll take San Francisco a lay the points.
- 1:55:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna take San Francisco as well. I think
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: that offense is clicking, and I don't think Caleb Williams
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: is going to have the luxury of a slow start,
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: which he's kind of gotten into a little bit of
- 1:56:09Speaker 5: a pattern. He's much better later, but it might be
- 1:56:12Speaker 5: too much. Yeah, I've been on Chicago most of the season.
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: You were right, but I was wrong. I was not
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: a believer.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: I was off Chicago last week and I got screwed
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: by that, but I'm going to be off him again
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: this week. I think San Francisco at home beats.
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: The Bears should be a good game.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I that's a good one. That's a good one.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: Now we go to Monday Night on Ish Peirn and
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: it's not eight fifteen, the Rams eleven and four at
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: the Falcons six and nine.
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: Knowing the Rams by seven and a half Rams Rams, Yeah,
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: same with me. Indoors, that offense I think will put
- 1:56:54Speaker 5: up too many points for Kirk Cousins in that pass
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: rush could make life difficult for the old man.
- 1:56:58Speaker 3: I'm going to go with the Rams as well well.
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: Although I am not a believer in the Rams defense overall.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: I think they have a good pass rush, but I
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: don't think their secondary is very good.
- 1:57:07Speaker 3: Right now, we move back to one o'clock, and of
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: course it's the Patriots at twelve and three visiting New
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: Jersey to take on the Jets on Fox three and twelve.
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: Patriots by thirteen and a half, tied for the biggest
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: spread of the week.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: Yep, yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna listen to Evan. I mean,
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: he told me no chance, but I kind of agree
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: with him.
- 1:57:30Speaker 6: I'm gonna take the Patriots by a nice comfy score
- 1:57:33Speaker 6: of thirty four to ten.
- 1:57:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I see a similar kind of game. I'm gonna
- 1:57:38Speaker 5: say thirty three to six. I don't see any offense
- 1:57:42Speaker 5: for their Jets, and this is just a focused game
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: special teams. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the
- 1:57:47Speaker 5: same thing on the kickoffs. Just ki kick him in
- 1:57:51Speaker 5: the end zone and give him the thirty five. They're
- 1:57:52Speaker 5: not going to do anything with that, and just don't
- 1:57:56Speaker 5: give the Jets any points.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: And you should be okay.
- 1:57:59Speaker 3: In this one. Listen, it's a division game the Jets.
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: You just never know in this league. Patriots forty two ten.
- 1:58:12Speaker 5: You see me right it in. You see me writ
- 1:58:14Speaker 5: it in.
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: When he started, you know they have to give the
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: Patriots are going to have to give up that first
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: drive touchdown.
- 1:58:18Speaker 6: Right right and after it, and then that let your
- 1:58:20Speaker 6: blog will be blowing up.
- 1:58:24Speaker 5: I would have to to think about it, but I
- 1:58:27Speaker 5: would wonder a first drive touchdown in this game, would it?
- 1:58:31Speaker 5: I think it would be the most surprising one that
- 1:58:34Speaker 5: they would have allowed, counting Cleveland at home, counting the
- 1:58:38Speaker 5: one they allowed to Carolina, at home, the one they
- 1:58:41Speaker 5: allowed to Tennessee on the road. This would be I
- 1:58:45Speaker 5: think more surprising than even any of those. Yeah, even
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: the first time the Jets did it in the Thursday
- 1:58:51Speaker 5: night game. They went right down the field and scored.
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: Yep. But I think Patriots handle the Jets in New Jersey.
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: I'm probably going to be mostly Patriots fans in the crowd,
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: if you know, like, why would it just Fireman ed?
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: He's out, He's been gone since like week three.
- 1:59:09Speaker 5: You know, I wonder how many empty seats they'll be
- 1:59:11Speaker 5: just period, Yeah, you know. Yeah, it's a big place,
- 1:59:14Speaker 5: a big place Christmas weekend.
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: Yeah, screw that terrible matchup.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: Ye all right, Well listen, it's not the end of
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: the year, but it's getting there, right It is Christmas.
- 1:59:27Speaker 3: Two more shows until the end of the year, right, Yeah,
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: So I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow. Patriots
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: are off.
- 1:59:37Speaker 5: Where off, Mike and I will be with you on Sunday, Yeah.
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: Show pre game show. I'll be in New Jersey doing
- 1:59:47Speaker 3: the blog. Everybody behave If things don't go one hundred
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: percent the way you want it to go, the things.
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: They're going to. So I think you've all been a
- 1:59:56Speaker 5: good again.
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: I don't want criticism, but I want constructive criticism, not
- 2:00:00Speaker 3: we're frauds. You don't need that, all right.
- 2:00:03Speaker 5: I gotta tell you, if they lose to the Jets,
- 2:00:05Speaker 5: I might be in the fraud category.
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: They had a bad way, they came out unfocused, and
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: you know, they deserve criticism. But I still think they're
- 2:00:13Speaker 3: I think they're a pretty good team. I mean, I
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: think we're twelve and three. All right, see you later. Hey,
- 2:00:21Speaker 3: this is Alex.
