- Lucas: Hey everyone, welcome back to Learn Dutch with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready for another tiny lesson? Lucas: Absolutely. So, we've covered a lot of body parts already — from head to toe. Today, we're zooming in on something smaller. Luna: Oh, I like the sound of that. Smaller, like fingers? Lucas: Exactly! We're learning three new words: de vinger, de duim, and de nagel. Finger, thumb, and fingernail. Luna: Ooh, useful. I've definitely needed to talk about my fingers before. Lucas: And speaking of useful — if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Dutch, a couple of dollars a month is genuinely what keeps these going. Buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it makes a real difference. We really appreciate it. Lucas: Alright, back to fingers. Let's start with de vinger. Repeat after me: de vinger. Luna: De vinger. Lucas: Good. Now, de duim. Say it: de duim. Luna: De duim. Lucas: Great. And finally, de nagel. Listen: de nagel. Luna: De nagel. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's use them in a sentence. Suppose you hurt your finger. You could say: Ik heb een pleister nodig voor mijn vinger. Luna: I need a bandage for my finger. Ik heb een pleister nodig voor mijn vinger. Lucas: Exactly. And if it's your thumb? Ik heb een pleister nodig voor mijn duim. Luna: Ik heb een pleister nodig voor mijn duim. Lucas: And if you're painting your nails, you might say: Ik lak mijn nagels. Luna: Ik lak mijn nagels. That sounds nice. Lucas: Let's practice a little scene. Luna, you're at the pharmacy. You cut your finger. Luna: Okay. Hallo, ik zoek een pleister. Ik heb een pleister nodig voor mijn vinger. Lucas: Perfect! And the pharmacist says: Hier is een pleister. Luna: Dank u wel. Lucas: See, you're already using de vinger naturally. Luna: Let's go through them one more time. De vinger, de duim, de nagel. Lucas: Excellent. And remember, if you need to point to something, you use your vinger. If you're giving a thumbs up, that's your duim. Luna: And if you're getting a manicure, you're talking about your nagels. Lucas: Right. So let's do a quick review: what's the Dutch for finger? Luna: De vinger. Lucas: Thumb? Luna: De duim. Lucas: Fingernail? Luna: De nagel. Lucas: You've got it. Keep practicing these, and next time we'll add a few more. Luna: Thanks for joining us on Learn Dutch with Fexingo. See you next time! Lucas: Doei!
