- 0:01Hello, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Brett Keen from God TV
- 0:05radio. I hope you're all having a
- 0:06blessed day. I'm going to be doing an
- 0:08interview with John Costello soon and I also did an interview
- 0:12earlier on last two weeks of Steve Bolin.
- 0:15I also plan to do an interview with Sandra hovind, which I
- 0:19think is going to be really fascinating.
- 0:21We're going to do a lot of catching up.
- 0:23I love her and me and see, some can toven, so I think that's
- 0:27going to be awesome. And who knows?
- 0:30Maybe he'll even pop. Pin for a moment whenever I'm
- 0:33doing the interview and share some of his views and ideas on
- 0:36the interview. Well, we'll see some of you may
- 0:40not realize this, but I've been spending a lot of time with
- 0:43Muslims. I've been hanging out in their
- 0:45rooms, I've been hanging out with a guy called dawa.
- 0:48Who does a room called the hot seat?
- 0:50Where Muslims and atheists? As well as Christians discuss.
- 0:55What is truth? What is fact, what makes sense?
- 0:58What does not what's rational and logical.
- 1:01Comes the holy texts. And and so on I got to have a
- 1:05conversation in the first show with a nihilistic atheist called
- 1:10The Atheist rock paper, something like that.
- 1:13And and also I've discovered that the Muslims and some of the
- 1:17Christians in the room are really happy.
- 1:19Whenever they see me, they're always respectful, very nice.
- 1:22And of course, they have questions for me, but I think
- 1:26after we've had a lot of discussions of Muslims as well
- 1:29as myself and discovered, we have a lot of Of common ground.
- 1:32And we questioned a lot of the same things and a lot of our
- 1:36beliefs are very similar, believe it or not.
- 1:39And I know I talked a lot about that on the radio, if anybody
- 1:42wants to get an in-depth idea of it, but one of the things that I
- 1:47noticed that the Muslims really enjoy talking about, is the
- 1:51Trinity doesn't make sense. And for me as a Christian, I
- 1:55have never really referred to myself as a trinitarian.
- 1:59I've had a very challenging time accepting the idea that Jesus is
- 2:04God, the father as where there's a lot of Christians on YouTube
- 2:08who seem to Jump right out that they go right towards Jesus.
- 2:13As God. I've been in many, many
- 2:15different denominations all throughout my life because my
- 2:18mother got sick. I ended up going into foster
- 2:21care. And I went into many, many
- 2:23different Foster systems. There's that's a huge story on
- 2:28why it is. I've been in so many of them,
- 2:30but let's just say, I've been in over 30, placements,
- 2:33residential, homes, foster, care and all that.
- 2:36The system through me all over the place and because Has of
- 2:39that 98% of these places I went to, they had their own
- 2:44denominations. I think that I've tried
- 2:47everything from Pentecostal to Pap this to Catholic to
- 2:52everything, but Jehovah witnesses, as well as Latter-Day
- 2:56Saints Mormons, although I do have a lot of job, Witness and
- 3:00Mormons come knocking on my door.
- 3:03Well, let's get to it. There's obviously, there's
- 3:05Christians out there who have a lot of challenging.
- 3:09Spec's whenever it comes to the Bible.
- 3:13Some of them believe that we're under grace, so we're no longer
- 3:15under laws or works. I personally believe that will
- 3:18be judged based upon our sins and works come Judgment Day and
- 3:22I have many verses to back it up.
- 3:24I also have the philosophical view.
- 3:26That hell is not Eternal. Destruction is the destruction
- 3:32and death of your soul is eternal, but I don't believe
- 3:35that your soul will remain Consciousness for an insanity or
- 3:39several eternity' or whatever. A mathematical physics.
- 3:43You want to throw into it. I believe that a person's wiped
- 3:46out their Consciousness, their personality everything, and we
- 3:50could talk about that later and video.
- 3:52If you like, I've discussed that many times on the radio, but as
- 3:57far as Jesus being God, this is confusing for me because there
- 4:01are passages that seem to imply that Jesus is God.
- 4:05However, there are many passages that say otherwise.
- 4:09And I think that this is where seems as well as myself and
- 4:13people the other face including some groups and denominations of
- 4:17Christians, we really fall into a hole on this and we really
- 4:20want to understand where people are coming from, who are
- 4:23declaring with an affirmative positive that Jesus is God.
- 4:29I'll give you a couple examples of the pros that Christians use
- 4:33to try to say that Jesus is God, and then I'll show you the
- 4:37verses where there's a distinction.
- 4:41The first words of John's gospel and ply, the Jesus is the word
- 4:45of God that he is the word. Therefore, he is God.
- 4:49And the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and
- 4:52the Word was God, John 1:1. Now, as you know, Jesus Christ
- 4:57is mentioned as being the word and the Word was made flesh and
- 5:01dwelt Among Us John 1:14. Now, you would think with these
- 5:05kind of passages that there's no point of even continuing on with
- 5:10them. Video.
- 5:10Right, let's take a look at some other stuff and Jesus claimed to
- 5:15be God by forgiving sins. Only God, can forgive sins.
- 5:19That's one of the reasons why the Pharisees went after Jesus,
- 5:23because he declared that he had the ability to wash away sins,
- 5:27his sacrifice was supposed to be within itself.
- 5:30The very embodiment of getting rid of sin, Jesus said unto the
- 5:35sick of the palsy son, be good. A cheer thy sins, be forgiven.
- 5:40And behold certain of the scribes had within themselves.
- 5:43This man blasphemies that ye may know that the son of man hath
- 5:48power on Earth to forgive sins and say it to the sick of the
- 5:52palsy arise. Take up my bed and go into thine
- 5:55house, Matthew 9 26 Mark, 2312 therefore, did the Jews
- 6:01persecute Jesus and sought to slay him because he had done
- 6:05these things on the Sabbath day. But Jesus answered them my
- 6:08father worketh hitherto Other two and I work, therefore the
- 6:12Jews sought and more to kill him because he not only had broken
- 6:16the Sabbath, but said also that God was his father making
- 6:20himself equal with God, John 5:16 18, He declared himself.
- 6:27The son of man is Lord even on the Sabbath day.
- 6:30This is a Matthew 12:8, Mark, 2:28.
- 6:33Luke 65 by claiming to be the same as God.
- 6:37He, that has seen me, has seen the Father, John 14.
- 6:40Nine. And John 8:58.
- 6:43Jesus said unto them. Verily, verily, I say unto you
- 6:45before Abraham was, I am, So I could go on all day giving you
- 6:52passages, I'll give you a couple more that Christians enjoy using
- 6:55to try to verify that Jesus is God.
- 6:58John 10:30 31 I and my father are one.
- 7:02Then the Jews took up Stones against again to Stone him.
- 7:07The father is in me and I in him and him therefore they sought
- 7:11again to take him John 10:38 39 now, right off the bat ladies
- 7:16and gentlemen to go towards the car.
- 7:19On of this, God also says that he works through every man that
- 7:23he works through us and that we are his instruments.
- 7:26God, even tells the Muslims that he works, good things within
- 7:30them and that they are capable of doing righteous, good things
- 7:34by obeying God and doing as he says.
- 7:37So God already says he's with within us all, there's a part of
- 7:41God and us all. But does that mean that we're
- 7:44somehow? Distinguished, are we not
- 7:47separate entities and This are we not is the Bible, not the
- 7:53Living Word and what does this mean exactly?
- 7:56Can we not have the Living Word that lives within us as well?
- 8:00Do we not take upon the flesh whenever we're thinking of being
- 8:05Christians or trying to do our struggles and daily lives?
- 8:09Now, let's show some verses where Jesus makes it pretty
- 8:14clear and there's some parts in the story that make it appear as
- 8:17though. Jesus as One else but not
- 8:20exactly the father and try not to get triggered, folks.
- 8:24I'm just sharing the verses with you so you can understand where
- 8:27Muslims and Jews who deny the Divinity of Jesus Christ in this
- 8:32way where it's coming off. But before I say that, I also
- 8:36want to point out that Muslims have shown nothing more, nothing
- 8:40but respect for. Jesus Christ, Jesus is one of
- 8:43their big boys and their Quran. He's not just some regular
- 8:47profit walking around. They also Believe that he was
- 8:49born of a virgin. They believe that he walked the
- 8:52Earth, the crucifixion seems to be the issue with them.
- 8:55And they also don't like how the writings of Paul seemed to
- 9:01contradict the words of Jesus or James.
- 9:03That's what I have learned by being around them.
- 9:06As much as I have, the Trinity thing really gets them and it's
- 9:10something they bring up a lot. So in James 1:13, it says God
- 9:15cannot be tempted yet in Matthew 4:1, it says, then was Jesus led
- 9:20up of the spirit, Into the Wilderness to be tempted of the
- 9:23devil. Luke 4, 12 says, Jesus being
- 9:27forty days, tempted of the devil Hebrews 4:14 15.
- 9:32Jesus was in all points tempted, like, as we are.
- 9:37When you look in Matthew 19:17 and Mark, 18, pin and 18 and he
- 9:44said unto them. Why callest thou me?
- 9:46Good? There is none good but one that
- 9:49is God. Now some Christians may say well
- 9:52that's just a that's kind of like a one of those rhetorical
- 9:57questions that Jesus is asking to see just what they would say
- 10:01or how they'd react fine. I'll go along with that.
- 10:05But if you look at my father, is greater than I John 14:28.
- 10:11What does he mean by this? Exactly.
- 10:14If he is God then why would he say that he's Duvall, you'd
- 10:17compared to his own father. I Ascend unto my father and your
- 10:23father and to my God and your God, John 20:17.
- 10:26Why is Jesus saying to my God and your God if he is God Jesus
- 10:32is not the author of confusion. He's not trying to mislead.
- 10:36He's telling you that I will be with.
- 10:38My God, you will be with God. If you follow the very
- 10:43definition of Christian has to be christ-like to do.
- 10:46As you are told to do. What does it mean?
- 10:49Whenever Jesus said that, Come to fulfill the law, does it mean
- 10:52that he did away with it? According to Matthew chapter 5
- 10:56verse 17 through 19 and several of the verses, he did not come
- 11:00to do away with the law or the prophets of the old.
- 11:05Everything that they say is just a significant and relevant
- 11:08today. What are you stamp New Testament
- 11:11or future Testament, aren't it or not?
- 11:14John 8:40 says. But now ye seek to kill me.
- 11:17A man that has told you the truth which I have heard of God,
- 11:23well, if he's God, why is he saying?
- 11:24He heard of God for I mean, why would he say something like that
- 11:29if he actually is representing himself as God?
- 11:35And of course, when Jesus Christ was on the cross dying and he
- 11:38said, my God, my God. Why hast Thou forsaken?
- 11:41Me, that can be found in Matthew 27:46, Mark, 15:34 and Mark 16
- 11:4719? He says, though, then after the
- 11:49Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and
- 11:53sat on the right hand of God. If he is, God then he should
- 11:57have ascended right into the throne should have enought.
- 12:01What does it mean that he ascended to the right hand of
- 12:04God? Why would he take a position to
- 12:07the right hand of God and might? I also include that Christians
- 12:11have also declared that Satan at one point in time.
- 12:14The light bearer, sat at the right hand of God and Satan was
- 12:19a created being which by the way, Muslims also believe that
- 12:23Satan is very real. They believe that the devil does
- 12:26exist and that there is a Hell in which people will go to, but
- 12:30they have another word for it. Christ sitteth on the right hand
- 12:34of God, that's in Colossians, 3:1 Jesus Christ.
- 12:39Who is on the right hand of God First Peter chapter 3, verse 21
- 12:43to 22 if we look in Acts 17:31 and First Timothy 2:5 because he
- 12:50has anointed a day in which he will judge the world in
- 12:53righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained Messiah.
- 12:58By the way, means, anointed one for those who may not know that
- 13:01At which the Muslims also believe that Jesus was referred
- 13:04to over 30 times in the Quran, as a messiah, whereof he have
- 13:10given assurance and to all men and that have raised him from
- 13:13the dead. For there is one God and one
- 13:16mediator between God and Men, the man Jesus Christ.
- 13:22And Corinthians 15 28. It says, and when all things
- 13:26shall be subdued unto him, then shall the son, also himself be
- 13:30subject unto them, that put all things under him that God may be
- 13:35in all in all and that can be found in 1st Corinthians 15 28.
- 13:41And although his head is God, the rest of him is human.
- 13:44The head of Christ is God. First Corinthians 11:3 now
- 13:49that's fascinating. If we go along with trinitarians
- 13:56out there, if we go with the people who say that Jesus is
- 13:59God, then we would have to logically assess that God sent
- 14:03himself to the Earth to be crucified for our sins.
- 14:10Why is the relationship between Jesus and God as God the Father
- 14:14and Jesus? The son.
- 14:17There is no passages out there where Jesus Christ is claiming
- 14:22to be all this. However, in the Book of
- 14:25Revelation, there is another passage, some verses that are
- 14:29kind of unusual that may dictate otherwise that may go along with
- 14:34trinitarian Doctrine as Christians call it and
- 14:38Revelation 17. 18. He says, I am the first and the
- 14:41last Revelation 22:13. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
- 14:47the beginning, and the end. The first and the last Which is
- 14:51pretty fascinating because Jesus did talk about those who are
- 14:55first will be last, and the last will be first and all that.
- 14:59So it's a very confusing topic. You can't just sweep
- 15:02trinitarians under the rug, but you also can't sweep people
- 15:06under the rug who bring up these passages that are valid where
- 15:11Jesus distinguishes himself. Separate from God, there's no
- 15:15question that. Jesus Christ had Divine powers
- 15:19that he was given an And instability and power from God
- 15:23to be able to do things. He did.
- 15:25But a Muslim could obviously, as well, as a Jew argue that Moses
- 15:30and many prophets of God throughout the Bible were able
- 15:32to do Supernatural things. The distinguishing Factor,
- 15:37though. The difference between Jesus,
- 15:40even in the Quran was God, for whatever reason, assigned?
- 15:45Jesus Christ to be the only man to ever be born.
- 15:51Without a biological human father that Mary was in fact,
- 15:55according to their own scripts, their own passages was born of a
- 16:00virgin, a woman who had never touched a man and that way or
- 16:03had penetration. It also tells you that Jesus
- 16:09Christ, according to the Quran, when the end of time comes the
- 16:13end of days that Jesus Christ will be assigned to return to
- 16:17the Earth and bring wrath and destruction and judgment upon
- 16:21mankind. That seems to me to be a lot
- 16:25more significant, although I appreciate all the prophets
- 16:29mentioned in all holy books, it is quite clear.
- 16:33When you read about Jesus and either, Booked, that he wasn't,
- 16:37just some guy walked around there was something more going
- 16:40on here. God, had bigger plans for what
- 16:44he had had for the initial profits before and those who are
- 16:48declared after whether you believe them to be true or not,
- 16:52there was something special and divine about Jesus Christ.
- 16:58And I think that even a lot of the Jews out there, who do
- 17:02believe in Jesus Christ, they would tell you this.
- 17:05There are He's out there who can tell that Jesus was a bit more
- 17:09than what the other prophets were.
- 17:13And let's not forget although there were passages and the
- 17:18Quran as well as in the Bible where men were brought back to
- 17:22life. What did Jesus Christ say, in
- 17:26the Quran. Now, this is something I brought
- 17:29up at the Muslims Jesus, according to the Quran is
- 17:33supposed to die. Their cry on actually says, at
- 17:36some point in time, Jesus is going to die now, according to
- 17:41their own book, one of the big things that seems to be missing
- 17:44compared. To Christianity is Christianity
- 17:47has an archive of the disciples in those who walk with Christ.
- 17:52As where the Quran does not spend very much time, as I think
- 17:56it should on the lives of the disciples, and what they meant
- 18:00to God and their assignment with the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
- 18:05Now, logic also, dictates, if you don't mind for those who are
- 18:09in the Trinity, when Jesus Christ was a baby How was he
- 18:14controlling the universe? At the same time, this was a
- 18:18child who needed to be disciplined and taken care of
- 18:22and fed and given drink by his mother, Mary, and his basically
- 18:28stepfather, or whatever you want to call Joseph, in his
- 18:31relationship with Jesus. The Christians are telling us,
- 18:35that Jesus, while he was laying in the haystack and the manger.
- 18:41Was somehow controlling the universe at the same time at the
- 18:45same time, he was going to the bathroom on himself.
- 18:48At the same time he was being breastfed by Mary at the same
- 18:51time he was eating and drinking and all this.
- 18:54He required Mary's assistance and taking care of him, but some
- 18:58Christians would have us believe that somehow, while this is all
- 19:01going on, God is taking care of the universe and all of its
- 19:05mechanics and all the wheels that turn I can completely
- 19:09understand why people would be challenged by this and confused
- 19:14and when Jesus died on the cross which Muslims have a problem
- 19:18with it says that, God himself resurrected Jesus Christ, not
- 19:23Jesus resurrected himself. There's many, many things I
- 19:28could go on all day about this. There's a reason why this
- 19:31argument has been happening between Christians for almost
- 19:342000 years. Ladies and gentlemen, this has
- 19:37been a big thing with the church.
- 19:39This isn't just cut and dry. It's odd, it's unusual and I
- 19:44think that we should talk about it this program that I've
- 19:48recorded will also be on my radio and atheist religious
- 19:53people. People of all different.
- 19:55Faiths you're more than welcome to put Q sense then.
- 19:58And if you think I'm wrong about anything, I say you're more than
- 20:01willing to discuss it with me live debate it or just post your
- 20:07comments. God bless.
