  >> Um, yeah, I mean, it's definitely

  important um off week just because I

  mean, not only just Alabama, but you

  know, we've played nine games in the SEC

  so far, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and

  then Saturday. Um, so there have really

  been limited opportunities for uh off
• 0:26
  days, so to speak. Um, so this could

  have not come at a more perfect time.

  You know, halfway through SEC um, play,

  now we get a break and then we go and
• 0:36
  dive to our other uh, half of SEC play.

  So, I say it's just been really

  important getting our bodies, our minds

  right, just um, you know, being allowed
• 0:44
  to sharpen and freshen up.

  Sebastian, um, last week coach said, um,

  after the Tennessee game, you guys

  wasn't really happy. How about the

  effort you guys had in the front court?

  What was some of the things you guys

  changed this week in practice preparing

  for Alabama?

  >> Um, I mean just our intentionality. Um,

  I think we were very intentional the
• 1:03
  first eight games of SEC play and just

  in terms of not getting punked, not
• 1:07
  losing, you know, even if we lose the
• 1:09
  rebound battle, just, you know, not
• 1:11
  letting it be such a big uh disparity in
• 1:14
  that sense. Um, and be the reason why we
• 1:16
  lose. Um, so just kind of refocusing,
• 1:19
  reshifting our mentality to what that
• 1:21
  was of what it was versus Florida versus
• 1:24
  all these other uh good SEC teams and
• 1:27
  just kind of focusing our mindset and
• 1:29
  our approach to that aspect of it.

  >> So, talk about the the defensive

  challenge in this one. I mean, Alabama's
• 1:36
  a team that shoots a lot of threes.

  Yeah. Plays up tempo. You guys have felt

  like you've improved on the defensive

  side of the ball over the last few
• 1:44
  weeks. just kind of talk about that that
• 1:45
  matchup and and what you guys see going

  into that.

  >> Yeah. Um I mean obviously Alabama is a

  very talented team. Um and their play

  style um is very unique. You know, they

  get up the court pretty quickly. Um do

  shoot a lot of threes. Um I mean we've

  just been approaching how we've

  approached majority of all of I mean not

  majority all of our games. Um you know

  trying to figure out how the way we

  guard is best how how to guard the best

  way against them. Sorry. Um, but yeah, I

  mean, Alabama is just one of those
• 2:17
  teams, you know, they're they've proven
• 2:19
  themselves offensively every single
• 2:21
  year. So, I mean, this team is very
• 2:23
  excited to um step up to the plate and,

  you know, get to challenge and get to
• 2:27
  play them. Um, we know it'll be a good
• 2:29
  game,

  mean getting stitches is no joke, but I

  mean he treated like it was just a

  little cut on his head. He got a paper

  cut. Um but you know he's a warrior.

  He's a dog. Um you know I said we aren't

  obviously aren't in that game without

  Key. So just a really um major vital

  part of my team. first time playing in
• 3:08
  the uh in the Iron Bowl of basketball,

  right? Will we just talk about that? And

  and who who is it? Is it students? Who

  who's been uh uh trying to you know give

  you the most insight info?

  >> Yeah. Um okay, so first it's a big honor

  to uh you know play in this Iron Bowl of

  basketball. Um you know I was supposed
• 3:29
  to come here last year um when they were
• 3:32
  playing at Auburn, but I just bring

  break all my friends to the Bahamas. So,

  sorry, wasn't going to miss that. Um,

  but um, you know, just, uh, I feel like

  Tahad, I mean, Todd was, you know, the
• 3:46
  returner from last year's team who kind
• 3:48
  of told us like, you know, the one
• 3:50
  versus two and then, you know, them
• 3:52
  playing on the court here last year. Um,
• 3:54
  and I would say just between him and,
• 3:56
  you know, the coaches, but I've really
• 3:58
  just been trying to keep, you know,
• 4:00
  there's going to be high emotions on
• 4:02
  Saturday and just trying to keep some of
• 4:04
  the emotions and play levelheaded
• 4:06
  basketball is kind of where I've been at
• 4:08
  my mindset of just, you know, I know
• 4:10
  this rivalry is important and I know,
• 4:12
  you know, it's important. I want to win
• 4:14
  for the Auburn fans. Um, but I also
• 4:17
  don't want to, you know, get out of
• 4:19
  characteristic and start forcing things.

  So that's just kind of been my main
• 4:23
  approach when it comes to this.

  >> And going off of that, SP was in here

  talking about how y'all can't like let

  what Alabama does affect who you get out

  of, you know, how important is that in

  this game for y'all to play y'all's
• 4:33
  specific brand of basketball in this

  matchup?

  >> Uh, it's very important. Um just because

  you know we know Alabama has a very
• 4:40
  distinct style of play and I think we
• 4:44
  all as a team have come to you know a
• 4:46
  conclusion that you know we shouldn't be

  shooting more threes then sometimes like
• 4:52
  our free throws and other things like
• 4:53
  that like we have been doing well um
• 4:56
  playing the style of basketball against
• 4:58
  Florida um and you know we suffer some
• 5:00
  big losses playing the way we played
• 5:02
  against Tennessee. So, just kind of um
• 5:06
  you know, knowing that Alabama is going
• 5:08
  to want a high tempo game, they're going
• 5:10
  to want uh bunch of threes going up and
• 5:13
  our team just focusing on what makes
• 5:16
  Auburn um this Auburn basketball team
• 5:19
  click. Um it's just really important and
• 5:21
  I would say it's probably the most
• 5:23
  important thing comes out of it because
• 5:24
  there will be high emotions. There will
• 5:26
  be, you know, bunch of trash talk. Um,
• 5:30
  so just focusing on what makes us us is

  probably the most important thing.
