- 0:21Speaker 1: letter accurate acronyms. You're with No Dribbles strap in.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Three letter acronyms three.

- 0:44Speaker 1: talk about netfil We talk about so much more, and
- 0:46Speaker 1: we're doing it on a Friday. My name is Carolyn Swindel.
- 0:49Speaker 3: I'm cathcom lose ellis.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Happy Friday.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Happy Friday just feels like a Monday to me.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Still too.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I feel fresh on a Fridays though, I've just had
- 1:00Speaker 1: weekend so good.
- 1:02Speaker 5: It's so good, and you know, today's it's not just Friday.
- 1:06Speaker 5: It's not just day one of the rest of the
- 1:08Speaker 5: two Dribble Friday life. It's Catherine's birthday.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Eve Eve Eve Eve, Yeah, yeah, double Eve.
- 1:16Speaker 6: I still think I'm thirty five. I'm going to stick
- 1:20Speaker 6: with it because I acted.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 4: I like that up.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'll take that. It is a big five though.
- 1:31Speaker 6: Congratulations on making it well jes Scots, you know, I
- 1:36Speaker 6: not there yet.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I thought my forties were my favorite decade, but so
- 1:40Speaker 1: far my fifties are, like, you know, there's still a
- 1:42Speaker 1: few years left, so things could go pear shape. So
- 1:45Speaker 1: I can't definitively say that my fifties were better than
- 1:47Speaker 1: my forties. But I'm certainly happier than I was last decade.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm fitter.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Do you believe though we're fifty?
- 1:54Speaker 6: No?
- 1:54Speaker 5: And you know what, anytime, anytime I see someone who's
- 1:57Speaker 5: like twenty four doing something, I'm like, oh, I know
- 2:00Speaker 5: about my age.
- 2:02Speaker 1: No, you haven't been twenty four for nineteen seventy five
- 2:05Speaker 1: was thirty years ago? Oh no, no, it was fifty
- 2:08Speaker 1: one years ago. That's absurd.
- 2:10Speaker 6: You know you're old when you've got to put your
- 2:12Speaker 6: birth date in anything online ticking.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Why don't you two seventies babies quit your crying and
- 2:20Speaker 1: let the sixty babies worry about stuff like that.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yes, but Catherine, happy birth, Happy birthday.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Thanks everyone. Yes, next time we chat, I'll be fifteen.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And what will you do differently when you're fifty?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Will absolutely lay?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Will you be waving a wand around with a credit card?
- 2:37Speaker 5: Well, this is why I bought these. This is a
- 2:39Speaker 5: day bring me back a little bit. When the Champagne
- 2:42Speaker 5: kicks in on Sunday. Can someone please please be responsible
- 2:47Speaker 5: for Catherine, because I can't see you being responsible. Did
- 2:50Speaker 5: you find with your kids when they were little? And
- 2:52Speaker 5: my son who's ten, still does it a little bit,
- 2:55Speaker 5: but certainly when he was a much younger, he went
- 2:57Speaker 5: through about three or four birthdays when he woke up
- 2:59Speaker 5: and was really upset and we couldn't figure it out,
- 3:02Speaker 5: and then we were He thought that if he woke
- 3:05Speaker 5: up and he was a year older, he should be
- 3:06Speaker 5: a year taller and bigger. Oh so instantly, Yeah, like
- 3:10Speaker 5: it didn't happen overnight, and so he let.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Me work that way.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I think he's taller than you now. But yeah, so
- 3:20Speaker 5: you sort of feel like kids get lowered into this world,
- 3:23Speaker 5: have a big birthday, you get bigger, you get older,
- 3:27Speaker 5: you turn fifteen, you just want to go backwards.
- 3:29Speaker 3: No, but I am.
- 3:29Speaker 6: I am very glad speaking of somebody that's going to
- 3:32Speaker 6: be sensible to you know, take my wand off me.
- 3:34Speaker 6: On Sunday, Selena Gilson and is coming. I'm having a
- 3:37Speaker 6: long lunch very because yes he'll be there. But I
- 3:42Speaker 6: remember Selena because Selena doesn't drink. So when we used
- 3:45Speaker 6: to go out and it was when we went to
- 3:48Speaker 6: McLaren Vale. I think we had a very big weekend
- 3:50Speaker 6: in McLaren bar.
- 3:51Speaker 2: One day.
- 3:52Speaker 3: I had bought myself some.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Big weekend one day.
- 3:54Speaker 6: Yes it was that one day and the next day,
- 3:58Speaker 6: as it turns out. But she was so sensible all
- 4:01Speaker 6: the time. And I had just purchased these beautiful Chanel sunglasses,
- 4:04Speaker 6: my first designer anything. And I said to her, when
- 4:08Speaker 6: you think that I look like I'm getting messy, don't
- 4:11Speaker 6: say anything. Just come and take these off my face
- 4:13Speaker 6: and put them somewhere safe, because I don't want them
- 4:15Speaker 6: to I know, right anyway, So she came over at
- 4:19Speaker 6: one point and she went to take them. I was like, oh, ready,
- 4:25Speaker 6: those are the kinds of people you need around.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 5: And that was the weekend where we all went to
- 4:29Speaker 5: the Adelaide markets on the Saturday morning and thought we
- 4:32Speaker 5: would go shopping and buy food and make food that night.
- 4:36Speaker 5: But we went and made food after a whole day
- 4:38Speaker 5: of the wineries, and I was making calamari and I
- 4:41Speaker 5: don't know how I didn't end up in hospital with
- 4:42Speaker 5: third degree burns from the oil, but anyway, it was
- 4:46Speaker 5: very good.
- 4:47Speaker 4: It was hard to course, especially after a day in.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So, how did Selena say the calamari tasted, because obviously
- 4:56Speaker 1: you guys would not have been good references.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I can't remember exactly, that's how bad.
- 5:02Speaker 1: We We'll ask her on Sunday and report back. Yes,
- 5:06Speaker 1: that's very exciting.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Yes, I don't need anything, don't want anything. I just
- 5:11Speaker 6: want my people in the room, which will be fun.
- 5:14Speaker 4: It will be fun.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Now I can't be there, unfortunately, sadly, but I have
- 5:18Speaker 5: party promised you a night out on the Gold Coast.
- 5:20Speaker 3: We'll take it.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Yeah, and we're probably to get arrested.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to do a festival of fifty Yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And then we were like, yeah, Catherin's just going to
- 5:25Speaker 4: be like the schoolies.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Ever, isn't it like.
- 5:29Speaker 5: Cather We would make great toolies. Well, we would make
- 5:32Speaker 5: up for toolies.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Nice. Well I might actually be the youngest and hips
- 5:38Speaker 1: of all of us because last week I went out
- 5:41Speaker 1: at eight pm.
- 5:42Speaker 4: It's ridiculous.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I know you left the left the house at eight pm.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I was on my couch at ten to eight and
- 5:51Speaker 1: I could have and it was raining outside and I
- 5:54Speaker 1: still went out into the world. I went to end
- 5:57Speaker 1: Moore and I went to a comedy show. It's part
- 5:59Speaker 1: of the Comedy Festive and it started at nine twenty. No,
- 6:03Speaker 1: what is that?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Why?
- 6:05Speaker 1: I know?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Were there any other old people in the room? And
- 6:11Speaker 3: then just young? Yeah, I come from somewhere.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah no. It was yeah, Thursday night. So it was
- 6:18Speaker 1: a reasonably a well behaved crowd. But it was one
- 6:23Speaker 1: of those moments and it's like, oh, I could so
- 6:26Speaker 1: stay here. And then I thought about that. You know,
- 6:29Speaker 1: Kurt Vonnegut, the American writer, said he would say to
- 6:33Speaker 1: his wife, I need an envelope. I'm going out. She
- 6:35Speaker 1: wanted to just buy ten envelopes and then they're here,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and he said, no, every time I leave my house,
- 6:39Speaker 1: something happens. And I thought about that, and I thought, so,
- 6:42Speaker 1: if I stay here, I know exactly what this evening
- 6:45Speaker 1: looks like. It's I'm on the couch, I'm watching TV.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'm going to bed early. But if I bother going out,
- 6:52Speaker 1: something could happen. We went a great comedy show Fergus Neil,
- 6:56Speaker 1: who's a young guy who I have performed with at
- 6:58Speaker 1: the Comedy Store before. Really enjoyed it. Had a can
- 7:02Speaker 1: of gin, which of course I can't do at ken
- 7:03Speaker 1: Rosewell Arena anymore, and I feel like we've maybe winged
- 7:07Speaker 1: enough about that, well for this week anyway. But yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I went out at eight o'clock.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You're amazing.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Well, do you know I've been trying to catch up
- 7:13Speaker 6: with a couple of friends to have dinner for a
- 7:15Speaker 6: month now, and every so it's been on a Thursday
- 7:19Speaker 6: night because that seems to be the night that we
- 7:20Speaker 6: can all do. Every week, for the last three weeks
- 7:24Speaker 6: it's been canned by one or the other, and every
- 7:26Speaker 6: time it happens, I'm so so.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You know, there's Fomo missing out. I get the Jomo
- 7:34Speaker 1: the joy of missing.
- 7:37Speaker 4: It's like a birthdays.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Well, I get fogo fear of going out on a
- 7:40Speaker 5: Saturday night like we did, did a heap of work
- 7:44Speaker 5: around the house on Saturday, and then we had to
- 7:46Speaker 5: dress up and go out to Monday's.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Party, which was fun when we got there. But We're
- 7:50Speaker 4: sitting having a little champagne before and I'm like.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Oh, because it was an eighteenth though, was it loose?
- 7:57Speaker 1: Oh no, no, strange story. I'm in trouble.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Oh because well I'm not all of them are eighteen yet, right,
- 8:05Speaker 5: so but they're all sensible, they're all they all play sport,
- 8:07Speaker 5: they're all academic, they're all sensible, and so they are
- 8:10Speaker 5: all sensible. And it was just me and were sister
- 8:13Speaker 5: and her mates just getting loose.
- 8:16Speaker 6: And we think that maybe that's a reflection of why
- 8:19Speaker 6: the kids are sensible, because they seen and their.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Mum in that stage.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 5: But then we had like to go to a netball
- 8:27Speaker 5: carnival on Sunday morning at liz Moore. We had to
- 8:29Speaker 5: be there at half past seven. So at ninet thirty
- 8:32Speaker 5: the meat tray walks up to me and said, right,
- 8:34Speaker 5: you've had enough. I'm like, I've only been here for
- 8:36Speaker 5: three hours.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And he's Selena.
- 8:37Speaker 5: He is well, and he's not often but on Saturday
- 8:40Speaker 5: ninety one, thank you cold Selena.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Thank you Els please you would have been when you
- 8:46Speaker 6: wake up in the morning.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So Liz was telling me about this cath and I
- 8:48Speaker 1: was talk telling her about a conversation I have with
- 8:50Speaker 1: a friend's daughter the other day. She's nineteen, and she said,
- 8:53Speaker 1: most of the particularly the males she's friends with, the
- 8:56Speaker 1: guys she went to school with, are all right into
- 8:59Speaker 1: gambling sports betting apps, and like she says, she gets
- 9:03Speaker 1: invited out for a date and it's like, we'll go
- 9:04Speaker 1: to the casino. It's like, what the hell, what's what's
- 9:07Speaker 1: with the gambling and the young people that's.
- 9:09Speaker 6: So not drinking as much too, from what I understand, Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 6: I don't think they're big drinkers in generation, but.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah, gambling, Yeah, that's disturbing.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Anyway, give me a glass of white any day.
- 9:23Speaker 3: A fairy want exactly and be done with it exactly.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Well, I want to take a little break and then
- 9:28Speaker 1: come back and talk about some netball. It won't be
- 9:31Speaker 1: Delta Good Room round again this weekend. I don't know
- 9:33Speaker 1: what round. It will be round e level and we'll
- 9:35Speaker 1: need to anoint at something legs eleven. But yeah, let's
- 9:39Speaker 1: have a quick break and then we'll come back and
- 9:40Speaker 1: talk about some netball. Okay, well that was our quick
- 9:53Speaker 1: break and now we've come back to talk about some netball.
- 9:55Speaker 1: See how that makes amazing?
- 9:58Speaker 4: It is? Can I say it's not Delta goodro and
- 9:59Speaker 4: round but his first Nations round sad week two? So
- 10:03Speaker 4: it is. I love.
- 10:04Speaker 5: This is like it's like you know when you get
- 10:06Speaker 5: towards the end of the season and you're like if
- 10:08Speaker 5: I was thinking about the finals, but you need something
- 10:11Speaker 5: to spark you up. Yeah, you know, like Christmas used
- 10:13Speaker 5: to be for the Europeans. I reckon First Nations around
- 10:16Speaker 5: is that like you get great storytelling, beautiful dresses. It's fantastic,
- 10:20Speaker 5: beautiful dresses, beautiful artwork that First Nations artists sort of design.
- 10:26Speaker 5: So yeah, First Nations around this this week, so I'm
- 10:28Speaker 5: really looking forward to it.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You might even be better than Delta good.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I think.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I think you're find that's very exciting. So what have
- 10:35Speaker 1: we got We've got.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Well, we've got Mavericks.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Sorry you guys go, I was gonna say the big
- 10:39Speaker 5: one for me is Mavericks Lighting.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Well, the big one for me is Giants Thunderbirds. Giants
- 10:45Speaker 6: were up by three going into the final quarter. The
- 10:48Speaker 6: last time those sides were met, Remember I only lost
- 10:51Speaker 6: by two and a dance.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Giants are a bit of a bit of a hoodoo
- 10:56Speaker 1: team for the Thunderbirds.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Last year Giants, who came last again beat the Thunderbirds
- 11:03Speaker 1: both games.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 5: So actually I'm just sitting here looking at around eleven.
- 11:10Speaker 5: Every game has a massive bearing, right, So the Giants, Thunderbirds,
- 11:15Speaker 5: MAVs Lightning, Well, they're in that five for that fourth spot,
- 11:20Speaker 5: and the Swifts are playing against the Vixens. Vixen's we
- 11:22Speaker 5: want to come back and show.
- 11:23Speaker 4: That last week a high ration.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Swifts I think will have an enormous amount of confidence
- 11:28Speaker 5: from traveling to per.
- 11:29Speaker 1: And everything at stake. They're still in this at this.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Year and they're in the same like it's almost flipped
- 11:35Speaker 5: from last year, hasn't it? For these two games? And
- 11:37Speaker 5: then Fever need to go up against the fire Birds.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Were feeling pretty good about themselves after last week and
- 11:43Speaker 5: Fever Brisbane at home.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And Fever have lost three out of the last four.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So although they're sitting on twenty four points and they're
- 11:50Speaker 1: clear in third place, it's still the only two teams
- 11:53Speaker 1: I think that can be sure they're going to get
- 11:55Speaker 1: into the finals are the Vixens and the Thunderbirds, and
- 11:58Speaker 1: obviously they are playing for first and second because you
- 12:01Speaker 1: want to have those home games.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Yeah, so five Birds, Fever, Fivebirds, Fivebirds are at home.
- 12:06Speaker 5: I reckon five beds will be a little bit dangerous.
- 12:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I reckon they will too, because it's a tough
- 12:10Speaker 6: road trip too for Perth. Yeah, it is a freaking
- 12:13Speaker 6: long way and they stayed yesterday.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So do you know what is it? Sunday?
- 12:16Speaker 3: The game that Sunday.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Ye, so they at least have seven days and they
- 12:20Speaker 1: at least don't have to get to the sunshine case like,
- 12:22Speaker 1: at least they can fly into Brisbane, which is which
- 12:25Speaker 1: is helpful.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So we won't be watching that though.
- 12:27Speaker 1: No, we won't be watching that.
- 12:29Speaker 3: No, we might have a little lie on it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm going to watch Swifts games anymore,
- 12:32Speaker 1: because we went out for lunch yesterday for my son's
- 12:36Speaker 1: eighteenth and I didn't get in the car and it
- 12:39Speaker 1: was there was only five minutes left of the third
- 12:43Speaker 1: quarter and they were ahead. I looked on the app
- 12:46Speaker 1: and I just went, I'm going to put this aside.
- 12:48Speaker 1: We got home in time. I turned it on and
- 12:50Speaker 1: watched the last five minutes. But maybe maybe I need
- 12:54Speaker 1: to do that. Maybe that's my thing that I need
- 12:56Speaker 1: to give the Swifts.
- 12:57Speaker 3: It's just not to watch them.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yea suffer eighteenth though eighteen?
- 13:02Speaker 4: Holy moly?
- 13:04Speaker 3: How do you feel about?
- 13:05Speaker 1: Not great? Not great?
- 13:07Speaker 3: With which part? I don't know.
- 13:09Speaker 4: It's just.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You know, he's awesome. I love spending time with him.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It's great to see who your kids become and finding
- 13:17Speaker 1: things in common with them. But I'm mourning this you know,
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's like far out that was that was fast, Like
- 13:23Speaker 1: I feel like it's a minute ago. I'm where Maddie
- 13:26Speaker 1: Proud is on a plane thinking shoot me for having
- 13:30Speaker 1: this child on a plane with me at the moment
- 13:32Speaker 1: and go hard and so awful, and then it ends
- 13:36Speaker 1: so quickly, doesn't it. So yeah, so it's it's sobering,
- 13:41Speaker 1: it's lovely and I've got if you're lucky, you get
- 13:45Speaker 1: your kids every year, you get your kids through, you think, congratulations,
- 13:49Speaker 1: I've done another year of protecting and providing and whatever.
- 13:53Speaker 4: You can't stop him too do what he likes.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Well, if he's eighteen and wants to live under his
- 14:00Speaker 1: which he does well except when he's at boarding school.
- 14:03Speaker 1: But you know, it's like you're now a child who
- 14:06Speaker 1: can go to the pub. So there's still.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Have you done that with him? Have you been out
- 14:10Speaker 3: to a part or something?
- 14:11Speaker 1: Well, yesterday we went out for lunch and you know,
- 14:14Speaker 1: he ordered his own he orders his own drink.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, got carter, I get carded.
- 14:24Speaker 4: No one believes, Oh that's very funny.
- 14:27Speaker 1: So okay, so do we wanted to? So who do
- 14:29Speaker 1: we think is going to win this? Weekear, I'm tipping
- 14:31Speaker 1: bottom of the ladder wins. I'm tipping again teams five
- 14:34Speaker 1: to eight will win this week. So Giants, Swift's lightning
- 14:39Speaker 1: maps and the other one.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Man, I think I'd get over lightning.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Who's you go?
- 14:46Speaker 3: You'll go back over lightning?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Right, Well, I'm tipping the home teams Giants, Maverick, five, Bird,
- 14:52Speaker 5: Vixen c he.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Could be under something was finally eleven rounds?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Yes, do you want to maybe just this one time,
- 15:03Speaker 1: guess the margin for the first game?
- 15:05Speaker 4: No, okay, nothing for me, okay, all.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Right, justice just the home games.
- 15:15Speaker 3: She just gave me the bird, everybody.
- 15:16Speaker 1: What is the prime I want to talk about then?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Is Commonwealth game selection? So that team thirty first time
- 15:23Speaker 1: be announced on the thirty first of May, So there
- 15:27Speaker 1: are there's talk. You know, obviously Grace White is having
- 15:30Speaker 1: a blinder of a season. But having a blinder, would
- 15:35Speaker 1: you yep? One would you yep? But who would who
- 15:39Speaker 1: would you leave behind?
- 15:39Speaker 6: Well, Sophie Dwyer has got a big question mark over her,
- 15:42Speaker 6: so you're not leaving anyone behind at the moment.
- 15:44Speaker 3: It's a squad. Yeah, okay, you can.
- 15:46Speaker 6: I think she can add a few extra to the squad.
- 15:48Speaker 6: I would certainly take her. I wouldn't have if it
- 15:51Speaker 6: was got wing attacked, absolutely not.
- 15:52Speaker 3: There's no room in the mid court.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Just I mean to take it for experience in the squad.
- 15:57Speaker 6: Maybe she's never going to make the team in the
- 15:58Speaker 6: mid court position, but a goal attack position now possible.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Possible.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Well, that's interesting. How much do you think how much
- 16:09Speaker 1: bearing do you think there would be with the fact
- 16:11Speaker 1: that we've got the com Games this year and the
- 16:13Speaker 1: World Cup next year? So how much is Stacy thinking
- 16:19Speaker 1: some of the old guard will play the comm Games
- 16:21Speaker 1: and then the newer team next year, or I want
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm looking at the World Cup next year and therefore
- 16:28Speaker 1: the com Games are important, sort of blooding of the younger,
- 16:33Speaker 1: younger players.
- 16:34Speaker 6: I'd be shocked if she made any changes from COMM
- 16:37Speaker 6: Games team to World Cup team.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Maybe one. It's not going to be a clean out.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Is it.
- 16:42Speaker 5: I don't think you'll get the like you won't get
- 16:44Speaker 5: retirements this year, no example. Another retirements if there are
- 16:47Speaker 5: going to happen, will happen at the end of the
- 16:49Speaker 5: World Cup.
- 16:49Speaker 3: But do you also think Stacy would make vast changes too.
- 16:53Speaker 4: No, I'll be very surprised.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Like I don't want to say too much because you
- 16:56Speaker 5: know you're privet information, so.
- 16:58Speaker 1: And because you're holding a pink.
- 17:01Speaker 4: From yeah, and.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Also when I say too much, I'm generally wrong. But
- 17:04Speaker 5: I would think that it would be it would be
- 17:07Speaker 5: highly likely. If you, like, they're both of these pinnacle
- 17:09Speaker 5: events within twelve months of each other, you're going to
- 17:12Speaker 5: be looking at a very similar squad. That doesn't mean
- 17:14Speaker 5: it's going to be exactly the same. And I think
- 17:17Speaker 5: if I was selecting, I would be looking at some
- 17:21Speaker 5: younger players to bring in but still maintain maintain your
- 17:25Speaker 5: core of experience, but have a bit of a fiddle
- 17:28Speaker 5: around the.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Edges, so you know.
- 17:30Speaker 5: But the other player who keeps getting mentioned is Kate Eddie. Right,
- 17:33Speaker 5: She's someone who's having an absolutely stellar season, but and
- 17:38Speaker 5: she keeps getting mentioned.
- 17:39Speaker 4: But I don't know where you fit it.
- 17:40Speaker 3: No, that's the problem, isn't it, Like you take her
- 17:42Speaker 3: in the squad? Definitely.
- 17:43Speaker 6: I think that's the first thing, because it is the
- 17:45Speaker 6: squad being selected on the thirty first of May. Oh sorry,
- 17:48Speaker 6: my want to sit my microphone. And then I don't know,
- 17:53Speaker 6: have a good look at it from there, But who
- 17:55Speaker 6: do you drop?
- 17:55Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly right, and that's like Australia has this. You know,
- 18:00Speaker 5: I always I talk about this when everyone gets a bit.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Oh we've got no shooters. Oh we've got no news.
- 18:05Speaker 4: At the moment we are.
- 18:07Speaker 5: We have a glush of great sort of wing defense, center,
- 18:09Speaker 5: wing defense, goal defenses. You could have seven world class players.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That position is very crowdy and.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Super crowded and Ruby Backwall, Dorian has you know, Jess
- 18:20Speaker 5: Lay like Sunday is not there.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I guess so Sunday that's even more. That's right.
- 18:27Speaker 5: So I just feel like there's this really great sort
- 18:30Speaker 5: of level of athletes sort of sitting there. I love
- 18:33Speaker 5: seeing someone like Grace White come through to give us
- 18:36Speaker 5: some more goal attack options. Having danel Back in Australia
- 18:39Speaker 5: playing is fantastic for that goal shooter role. You know,
- 18:43Speaker 5: Sophie Garbutt and Kira Austin have been have really set
- 18:46Speaker 5: the benchmark over the last eight eight months.
- 18:48Speaker 4: So he'd be selector. Oh god, it's so hard.
- 18:51Speaker 3: To be tough.
- 18:52Speaker 6: But my two roughies I reckon Grace White and I
- 18:54Speaker 6: actually didn't think about that until you just mentioned it,
- 18:57Speaker 6: to be honest, because that she would make the square
- 19:00Speaker 6: but she should who great, I mentioned it.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Sorry you want in the right direction.
- 19:09Speaker 3: I thought I had to have been from Lizell.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I did tell you I feel about Grace White the
- 19:12Speaker 1: way you feel about Georgia George.
- 19:14Speaker 3: And my other one is Jesse Groenbolch. She will definitely
- 19:16Speaker 3: make the squad.
- 19:17Speaker 1: You think, I think she'll.
- 19:19Speaker 6: Make the teams. Anyone's she's playing that, well, wow, she'll
- 19:23Speaker 6: make the squad. I don't think anyone will miss out
- 19:25Speaker 6: on the squad. No one's going to get dropped from
- 19:27Speaker 6: the squad for Jesse to go in. I think they'll
- 19:29Speaker 6: I don't make it bigger numbers, but if.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It's like, what do you you know you've got a
- 19:33Speaker 1: bigger squad and man, you've got make the cruel cuts.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Well, it's tough at the top.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Do you know how many they can take to Glasgow?
- 19:43Speaker 4: Oh, you can take twelve Glasgow, So that's your twelve.
- 19:46Speaker 5: And then I don't know I should know the answers
- 19:49Speaker 5: to this, but the squad size, I think speed sets.
- 19:51Speaker 5: I've got to fit like if it will in right,
- 19:53Speaker 5: and there's you know if you I mean, if you
- 19:55Speaker 5: make them.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Stake you're going online. When the squads announced people what
- 19:57Speaker 4: about blah, what about BLA, What about bla?
- 20:00Speaker 5: But there's only eighteen spots if that's the number, right,
- 20:04Speaker 5: So and you don't know what the selectors are working towards,
- 20:08Speaker 5: so they as much as you go, well should take
- 20:11Speaker 5: the twelve best players. We've actually got to take the
- 20:14Speaker 5: twelve best players who can work in a combination. Players
- 20:17Speaker 5: who can play I think it's like five games in
- 20:19Speaker 5: six days or seven games in eight days, Like you
- 20:22Speaker 5: need players who can back up, who can play a
- 20:24Speaker 5: number of different positions.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Like, there is so much that goes into.
- 20:27Speaker 6: It, and that may hold Grace White back because she
- 20:30Speaker 6: doesn't have anyone that she plays with that would be
- 20:33Speaker 6: able to play for Australia. Grace Wakings, Ellen, Helen Howsby, England,
- 20:38Speaker 6: Taylor Fraser not in the squad, Mighty Proud not in
- 20:40Speaker 6: the squad.
- 20:41Speaker 3: That does make it a little bit harder for her.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and then she would have to come into the
- 20:45Speaker 5: squad training camp and actually just prove herself and it
- 20:47Speaker 5: might be hard for her to beat the bolt for
- 20:49Speaker 5: the common Games. But if you bring her into the squad,
- 20:51Speaker 5: you really are looking at her for maybe next year
- 20:53Speaker 5: or then the next four years.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Something Well, I'll be interested in seeing. Obviously, Super netball
- 21:01Speaker 1: recruitment season is always very interesting. But you know, Grace
- 21:04Speaker 1: White has not blinked since Helen howse been left you.
- 21:08Speaker 1: She has not put a foot wrong and it's you know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: she's young, She's got so much in front of her.
- 21:16Speaker 1: What she's twenty one years old. Like, it'll be really
- 21:19Speaker 1: interesting to see what the Swifts look like next year.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Whether that will will we see Helen Howseby back in
- 21:25Speaker 1: the Swifts. I don't know so well.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Helen Howsby.
- 21:28Speaker 6: If you think about her as a player, she's great
- 21:30Speaker 6: in the big moments. Grace White's not proving that she's
- 21:35Speaker 6: at all bothered by the big one.
- 21:36Speaker 1: No, that's right, Yeah, she seems Yeah, it's yeah, quite incredible. Anyway,
- 21:41Speaker 1: lot lots lots to look for. Do we know anything?
- 21:45Speaker 1: A question without notice here about the England coach. So
- 21:50Speaker 1: they've they got rid of their coach. They got new
- 21:53Speaker 1: she stood.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Down, didn't she.
- 21:54Speaker 3: They have appointed a new one. But Joe Harden is
- 21:57Speaker 3: working with the England side.
- 21:59Speaker 6: She's doing some special coaching and is already doing some
- 22:01Speaker 6: stuff so on top of her role with the new
- 22:03Speaker 6: South Wales Slifts and nights. She's online and she's doing
- 22:07Speaker 6: sessions with the England Shooters and they've got some big
- 22:12Speaker 6: guns whos their assistant coach can't think anyway hmm.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Interesting, And we don't know whether Helen Hawsby will be
- 22:17Speaker 1: back in time for the Oh gosh, all right, well,
- 22:22Speaker 1: lots to look at. There are lots of lots of
- 22:24Speaker 1: turmoil in international coaching in the last twelve months. So
- 22:28Speaker 1: we did have dribblers from England say why haven't you
- 22:30Speaker 1: talked about this? And it's clearly because we don't know anything,
- 22:35Speaker 1: which does this not mist usually talking about things, but
- 22:37Speaker 1: if we ever have something useful to say, we'll say it.
- 22:41Speaker 1: We guarantee that. Alrighty, so we've got yeah, let's take
- 22:46Speaker 1: a little break and then we'll come back. I've got
- 22:48Speaker 1: something that's made me go hmm. Thanks, okay. So Things
- 23:14Speaker 1: that Make You Go is a segment that we've started
- 23:16Speaker 1: here at No Dribble in order to let us basically
- 23:20Speaker 1: bitch about things that have annoyed us. And I'm into
- 23:23Speaker 1: the hairdresser recently and I feel like, particularly in Sydney,
- 23:27Speaker 1: we are losing our minds about dogs. I feel like
- 23:30Speaker 1: we've lost perspective on what a dog's role is in
- 23:35Speaker 1: the world and how much other people have to bend
- 23:38Speaker 1: to our dog's needs. So I'm in the hairdresser a
- 23:41Speaker 1: woman comes in with a dog. It was a hot day,
- 23:43Speaker 1: so we had the door open. A woman came into
- 23:46Speaker 1: the hairdresser and my Hairdresserrayan's the salon but he rents
- 23:48Speaker 1: the chairs out, and she came in and she just
- 23:50Speaker 1: made an announcement, said I'm just going to close the
- 23:53Speaker 1: door so the dog can be off leash, and then
- 23:57Speaker 1: the dog proceeded to go around and sniff everyone in
- 24:00Speaker 1: the hairdresser. And I felt like an asshole because it's like,
- 24:03Speaker 1: why do I wanted the door open because it's hot,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and two I don't want your dog sniffing me while
- 24:08Speaker 1: I met the hairdresser. And it's not that I don't
- 24:10Speaker 1: like dogs, But am I the asshole?
- 24:14Speaker 3: No? She that was.
- 24:16Speaker 6: I mean, I would be ecstatic if that happened because
- 24:19Speaker 6: I love dogs. But she shouldn't assume that everybody if
- 24:23Speaker 6: she just said, does anyone m yes?
- 24:28Speaker 5: And also I like dogs, but I don't like a
- 24:32Speaker 5: strange dog sniffing me unless I know what's going on.
- 24:36Speaker 4: It was it a big dog or a little.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Dog dog crutch or your foot.
- 24:40Speaker 1: No, it's a little dog. So that was sniffing my feet,
- 24:42Speaker 1: which rattle footstooldress.
- 24:45Speaker 5: What if someone did that with their kid, Like I
- 24:47Speaker 5: wouldn't let my kid go around and like sniff and everybody.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Or poke at them and say what do you do whatever?
- 24:53Speaker 5: I like kids, so if a kid come up to
- 24:55Speaker 5: me and did that to me, I'll be like, oh cool,
- 24:56Speaker 5: I'll engage with a kid. But there are people who
- 24:58Speaker 5: don't like kids. I respect that. So no, I think
- 25:01Speaker 5: the whole, the whole dog thing. I'm still not used
- 25:03Speaker 5: to dogs being allowed inside. Yeah, and yet I think
- 25:06Speaker 5: they're allowed on planes now you can take a dog
- 25:09Speaker 5: and a cane because I got a thing for my
- 25:11Speaker 5: airline the other day when I was traveling somewhere and said,
- 25:14Speaker 5: I'll just say no, this is a dog friendly flight.
- 25:16Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh, you love that.
- 25:18Speaker 6: I well, and it's all funny games until one of
- 25:21Speaker 6: them relieves itself.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Well, that's right.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And I think like a service dog, like I.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Flew unhappy for the service dogs.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Flight in the US and I was with a service
- 25:29Speaker 1: dog and they are so well trained, like they are
- 25:33Speaker 1: not going to be anything other than sitting there doing
- 25:37Speaker 1: what their their owner needs them to do. But your
- 25:39Speaker 1: standard pets, like no one knows how to train.
- 25:42Speaker 5: And also, yeah, there's no way i'd take my dog
- 25:45Speaker 5: in a flight. Service dogs all over. I've sat next
- 25:47Speaker 5: to a service dog on a plane. It was beautiful
- 25:49Speaker 5: and the only thing I didn't like was that I
- 25:50Speaker 5: wasn't allowed to pad it because you can't pack.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I had like a twitch in my hand.
- 25:54Speaker 3: I was like, I'm just going to put the dog.
- 25:56Speaker 4: I just can't put the dog. I had to sit
- 25:58Speaker 4: in my hands, so I didn't put the dog.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Us that they've had to make rules on flights because
- 26:02Speaker 1: people were getting a little bit absurd with the support animals.
- 26:05Speaker 1: This is my support turkey, my support alligator, my support
- 26:09Speaker 1: miniature pony. It's like, no, it can be a dog.
- 26:13Speaker 1: And then, of course, because it's you, as everyone's up
- 26:16Speaker 1: in arms about the breach of the constitution or something
- 26:21Speaker 1: that I can't take.
- 26:24Speaker 3: I love how you went.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It's interesting that that the pet friend friendly flights the
- 26:32Speaker 1: rules are like if you take your cat on, for instance,
- 26:34Speaker 1: or your dog, they have to stay in the cat
- 26:36Speaker 1: carrier or the pet carrier under the seat in front
- 26:39Speaker 1: of you. So even if they start to wail and
- 26:42Speaker 1: get distressed in things, they are required to stay. And
- 26:45Speaker 1: I just think this is going to be so hard
- 26:47Speaker 1: for the flight attendants because if I think, if you're
- 26:50Speaker 1: the sort of person who wants to take your cat
- 26:52Speaker 1: on a plane, and I'm a cat person, but I
- 26:54Speaker 1: don't want to get my cat on a plane, like,
- 26:56Speaker 1: then you're the sort of person who goes, well, I
- 26:58Speaker 1: want my cat on my lap because it's distressed or whatever,
- 27:01Speaker 1: and then the flight attendants have to deal with that.
- 27:03Speaker 1: But interesting to see how it goes. So did you
- 27:06Speaker 1: have pets on the flight?
- 27:07Speaker 4: Were aware? I didn't notice that. I didn't notice.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Okay, all right, so we're coming down to I'm not
- 27:11Speaker 1: the asshole reason all right?
- 27:15Speaker 4: Yeah, how'd you kick the dog? You would have definitely
- 27:17Speaker 4: been but no, you're not. Dog? Was it? First?
- 27:20Speaker 1: I don't know? A small dog?
- 27:22Speaker 3: Okay, like a bits? It was a cute thing.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Well, I quite like bits is my favorite dogs. I
- 27:27Speaker 1: would much rather have something that looks like a Harry McClary,
- 27:30Speaker 1: like the hybrid vigor.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Yeah, sorry, hybrid vigor. That's what you get when you
- 27:34Speaker 4: cross too. Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 1: The attitude when we're talking vigor.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Is that what it's actually realized that that joke sweet
- 27:42Speaker 5: nowhere didn't.
- 27:42Speaker 4: It relates to plants.
- 27:43Speaker 5: So when you grow plants, when you cross things because
- 27:46Speaker 5: of hybrid it made some stronger and better because when
- 27:48Speaker 5: things are into bread they like in the same species,
- 27:52Speaker 5: you end up with lots of issues like for I
- 27:55Speaker 5: think it's French bull dogs and.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Cred to any family who are listening today, Tasmanian people love.
- 28:05Speaker 5: You that.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Pickup family jot.
- 28:09Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, yes, I say that because my brother in
- 28:12Speaker 6: LAWA is one and he always pays himself out.
- 28:14Speaker 3: So there's backstory to that.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Now you're a key weing to to.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Anyway, the hybrid vigor is what we all prefer.
- 28:23Speaker 1: The hybrid fantastic. Well on the hybrid vigor. Note, I
- 28:26Speaker 1: think that we will wrap.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Okay, I've got a quick, not darable recommend So Gordy
- 28:30Speaker 6: and I started watching Dutton Ranch, which is the spin
- 28:33Speaker 6: off to Yellowstone, and they dropped two episodes in the
- 28:37Speaker 6: very first week. We watched one. It was late and
- 28:39Speaker 6: we had to be up super early for the game.
- 28:41Speaker 6: I had to be at the court at eight am.
- 28:43Speaker 6: It's so good, weird to watch the next one, get on,
- 28:46Speaker 6: Well you actually stayed up late.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I did, but late it was like maybe eight.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Catherine, do you stay awake through the whole thing? Because
- 28:54Speaker 1: the one was yeah, okay, because I will regularly have
- 28:57Speaker 1: a little snooze.
- 28:58Speaker 3: That's a shig show.
- 28:59Speaker 1: If it's not, it's not.
- 29:02Speaker 4: A ship show.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's a good couch and.
- 29:07Speaker 3: No, it's great.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Get a ward, all right, fantastic.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Well, Liz, we've had you here this week. This is exciting.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I'd like this to.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Happen every week for sorry, fair enough. Well, we'll soak
- 29:18Speaker 1: it up and enjoy it while we can. Okay, dribblers,
- 29:20Speaker 1: have a great week. We will see you next week
- 29:23Speaker 1: in round. That'll be Round twelve, so we've got Round eleven,
- 29:27Speaker 1: First Nations Round.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Have good week.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I'm Carolyn Swindow.
- 29:31Speaker 5: Bye bye, Hey. Can you just take Catherine's wand off
- 29:38Speaker 5: halfway like a couple of hours into the lunch, because
- 29:41Speaker 5: Christ knows where she'll end up. She'll go and be
- 29:43Speaker 5: like tapping at the tattoo parlor.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I reckon Selen as your girl for this because I
- 29:47Speaker 1: want to see what happens.
- 29:48Speaker 5: I'm willing to just roll the ice on the you'll
- 29:51Speaker 5: be couch and report back.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I have a look at the front page of the
- 29:54Speaker 1: paper next week.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Well yeah, say, can you just send me photos
