- 1:03great view for not just you know heathens coming into this path

- 1:43basically I think Video got any kind of media really so that he

- 3:15Sported, a real quick or in this episode.
- 3:18What I wanted to talk about a little bit is a subject I've
- 3:21talked about, on my channel before it keeps coming up here
- 3:25and there, especially given the fact that online Heathen re
- 3:31tends to be such a trendy thing, nowadays.
- 3:34And I say online, human re using the term Heathen, re online
- 3:39because you really can't. You can't practice evenly over
- 3:44over a screen, you know what I mean?
- 3:45Like you can't legitimately practice either if it's sorry
- 3:50about the crackle there, my mic's acting up.
- 3:51The the thing about heathen, Rosetta has to be something that
- 3:55you experience in person and with people.
- 3:59But anyways, you get my point. You see all these like, you
- 4:02know, Heathen group. So, I can groups Pagan groups
- 4:05that focus on the Norse aesthetic Germanic paganism,
- 4:09that nature. And what would we see all the
- 4:13time? Is this hail brother, Hales?
- 4:15Sister my, brother's my sister's, my Heathen, brother's,
- 4:19my Heathen can let it at all. That stuff is stuff.
- 4:22So the subject of today's podcast or this podcast today is
- 4:27the subject of false kinship and kind of my views on it.
- 4:32And as I always like to say, you know what, my views are, don't
- 4:35necessarily reflect the larger Heathen view of things, I'd by
- 4:40no means make a claim to be a For the larger Heathen
- 4:49Collective world, view of things, everybody's going to
- 4:51have their own views and think the way they want to thank and
- 4:58do things how they want to be. But my view on this whole
- 5:02terminology that comes across referring to, you know, each
- 5:08other as brother. And sister, the reason why I
- 5:13call it fall skinship. It's because you know, if you
- 5:20and I aren't related to one another through blood if we
- 5:26don't share the same mother. Father uncle.
- 5:29Nephew cousin. Yeah, I think that if we're not,
- 5:32literally blood can then we have no familial ties. okay, you and
- 5:46that's where I see a lot of folks that come from a Christian
- 5:50background, carry, some of that we call, you know, that that
- 5:54baggage, that religious baggage, because a lot of, you know,
- 5:58judeo Christian religions abrahamic religions, there's
- 6:02that belief that, you know, we, you know, you know, if you
- 6:07believe in the same God, God and you are all children of the same
- 6:11God that you are there for his children and that we, you know,
- 6:14the people, our brothers and sisters through their faith.
- 6:20And that is a, that is not a pagan view of the world at all.
- 6:27It's not something that Archie then's pre-christian,
- 6:31Scandinavia in that time frame. Nobody that we know of had that
- 6:36belief or that view of one. You are my brother.
- 6:40If we shared the same parent or parents, we were not Brothers in
- 6:47our faith or brothers in our beliefs, in the gods or anything
- 6:52like that. So what happens when we do that?
- 6:55What happens when everybody who says they, you know, hail Odin
- 6:59and health or and have beliefs that very but that follow a
- 7:06dramatic pagan. Approach what happens when we
- 7:13throw this term out to one another?
- 7:14As these are my brothers, these are my sisters is what I feel
- 7:18happens, is that it weakens the term, it lessens the strength of
- 7:23the term brother, and that of the term sister of those
- 7:25familial titles, okay? You can't change or choose who
- 7:33your family as you're kind of stuck with that.
- 7:35It's what happens when you're born and you had no say I knew
- 7:39you were born through or two, but you can choose your extended
- 7:46family through your tribe and that that position that title of
- 7:55brother or sister, that is somebody who is not related to
- 7:58you. I feel is something that should
- 8:00be earned and deserved by deeds and by works and by Worthing
- 8:07yourself to them. And then where Being themselves
- 8:09to you through the process, you don't just come across somebody
- 8:15and find common interests and automatically just because you
- 8:19believe in the same things or similar things that, you know,
- 8:22they're your brother. And I'm speaking now in sort of
- 8:27the, the third person in a sense that I'm, I don't mean, like,
- 8:32you guys should think this way if it's not the way you think
- 8:35of, it's not how you feel, don't let what I say sway.
- 8:38You Yourself come up with it yourself but so let me just go
- 8:42in forward. Let me try to rephrase it.
- 8:43Is that when I hear it said, when I hear it said to me, you
- 8:46know, thanks brother. This and that, you know, I don't
- 8:51I try to be polite and I try to be, you know, I thank people for
- 8:56their gesture, their their remark and stuff but everybody
- 8:59pretty much Knows by. Now my views on things and that
- 9:03is that, you know, just because you say it to me and I don't say
- 9:05it to you. Don't take offense just the way
- 9:08I I don't take offense. If you saying it to me, you can
- 9:12call me what you want. I'm not going to lose any sleep
- 9:15over it but but but keep in mind that if you say it to me and I
- 9:19don't say it back to you, there's a good reason.
- 9:21Why. And that is that we just
- 9:24haven't, I may know you. I may like you, I may think
- 9:26you're a great person. I'm a matter of fact, I may even
- 9:30think you're a very you know like family to me in some ways
- 9:35but there are, there are certain things that need to be done.
- 9:39Need to be proven for me to know that you are my brother and I
- 9:45can tell you or sister for that matter and I can tell you for
- 9:48sure that right now today, I have less than the number of
- 9:56fingers on my hand. The amount of people who I call
- 10:01my brother or my sister in that aspect even less than that
- 10:05because I don't I don't know of anybody.
- 10:09Other than my actual blood, sister, who I can think of.
- 10:14Right now, off the top of my head who I would comfortably
- 10:17call sister, I don't have any female figures in my life that
- 10:23meet the criteria that I would want to see, come along with
- 10:27that title. And again, I have less than five
- 10:31people in my life that males who I refer to as brother.
- 10:36So it's a very valuable thing to me and I think that we should
- 10:41hold value to it by not just Loosely throwing that title
- 10:45around. Now again, this is one heathens
- 10:47perspective, this is my perspective, this is my view on
- 10:50things and I don't expect it to change anything for the larger,
- 10:56especially online Collective of folks.
- 10:58Because literally every day, when you go on a social media
- 11:02platform especially if it's like an open Forum group.
- 11:06Group like you see like on Facebook, literally every other
- 11:10post that comes through there is going to be starting off with
- 11:14something hail brothers and sisters or skull brothers and
- 11:19sisters, you know, and it's just it's tiring to repeat myself.
- 11:23But because I've said it on the YouTube, I've done a video on
- 11:27this before, it's on my YouTube channel.
- 11:31So, so check that out if you want, but it pretty much mirrors
- 11:35everything that I'm And right now for those folks that prefer
- 11:37the podcast platform and don't want to go looking through my
- 11:40catalog of videos. Here's my thing.
- 11:45And so, as such take that, at take, take it with a grain of
- 11:52salt, take it as you will. Again, I don't make any claims
- 11:55to say that. This is how everybody should
- 11:59view the world. That's just my view.
- 12:00If we don't hold the title of things, if you don't hold the
- 12:05naming of things as something important, something of value
- 12:07than it loses, its value and become something that just
- 12:10doesn't mean anything anymore. You know, it's kind of almost
- 12:14the same That I've you just maybe not as as strong or as
- 12:19heavy of a title but even friend, you know, the people who
- 12:23I call my friends, I know plenty of people.
- 12:26I know quite a few people actually that our acquaintance
- 12:30is that our relations that have, you know, connections to me.
- 12:35And it was some sort of fashion, but there are very few people
- 12:40who I even deem as true friends and And it might be the reason
- 12:46why I feel that way is because are the ways and why I've come
- 12:49to feel that way as you know, I've, I've been complacent with
- 12:53titles before throughout my life.
- 12:56I've done things that are or I've encountered people and then
- 13:02it had things done with to me from people who I called friend,
- 13:05or breathe or brother, and then I felt betrayed by them and that
- 13:11title to them for that title. That I gave them is you know I
- 13:17lost respect and I lost the value of them as a person and
- 13:21therefore, that title, I removed from them and they no longer are
- 13:25worthy of that title unless they were to do things to sort of
- 13:28regain that that worth back. So I'm very I'm very cautious
- 13:33about who gets this title who gets these types of titles and I
- 13:39guess my suggestion or my you know Edmund And if you will is
- 13:46be careful who you call brother, be careful who you call sister,
- 13:49be careful, even who you call friend, because things can
- 13:54happen. And the weight of that title
- 13:57should be something worth giving to someone.
- 14:01The value of that title should not be lost and just frivolous
- 14:04frivolously Distributing it to people who you don't even know.
- 14:11So there you go, guys. That's my kind of view on
- 14:13things. I hope you guys.
