- 1:42Speaker 1: Just like now, we've got a brand new day. You
- 1:43Speaker 1: got the Airedout podcast from Flying the Wall Productions live
- 1:48Speaker 1: on Facebook and YouTube and streamed everywhere. You get your
- 1:53Speaker 1: podcasts on the web at airedout vt dot com. It
- 1:57Speaker 1: is National Library Outreach Day today. I guess it was
- 2:07Speaker 1: formerly known as National Bookmobile Day. Why do I know
- 2:15Speaker 1: this well because I did a little bit of research
- 2:17Speaker 1: about it this morning. That's all. Remember the bookmobiles. Does
- 2:21Speaker 1: anyone out there remember the bookmobiles?
- 2:24Speaker 2: I do.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Anyway, They've been around for a long time, over one
- 2:30Speaker 1: hundred years, and I know there's some some some pretty
- 2:33Speaker 1: cool speaking of books, some fundraisers going on over at
- 2:38Speaker 1: Berry City Elementary School posted it up this morning, so
- 2:41Speaker 1: help those kids out if you can. Birthdays today Mitch Felderhoff,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Amanda Lafontaine, Ray Besson is on the list, Ben Snelling,
- 2:51Speaker 1: Cammy Brunell, and Regina Newell. Happy birthday to each of you.
- 2:57Speaker 1: We're looking at the cloudy and cold day today. Heard
- 3:02Speaker 1: so much bitchin and moanin yesterday about the weather. I
- 3:05Speaker 1: share that with you. I share that frustration with you.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm done with the cold in the wind, ready for
- 3:15Speaker 1: some warm weather. Looks like it's coming soon though, and
- 3:18Speaker 1: the R word rain is in the forecast. Ice today
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the Are you ready for this? Lower to mid
- 3:26Speaker 1: thirties for the high tonight, clear and cold fifteen to
- 3:33Speaker 1: twenty hang on. Sunshine in the morning at least, then
- 3:37Speaker 1: clouds for the afternoon Tomorrow forty five. We're going to
- 3:40Speaker 1: rebound here very slowly. Friday. We're looking at clouds, some
- 3:44Speaker 1: morning flurries. Lower fifties by Friday, which will be a
- 3:53Speaker 1: nice bit of relief. Weekend not too bad, a little
- 3:58Speaker 1: milder on Saturday, cloudy skies, a little bit of wet
- 4:04Speaker 1: snow and some rain mixing in. How much don't hold
- 4:09Speaker 1: me to this? Don't say? JD told me one to
- 4:15Speaker 1: three I heard it on the aired out podcast one
- 4:17Speaker 1: to three inches. Because it depends on where you are.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You could get a dusting, you could get three inches,
- 4:24Speaker 1: especially if you have you know Sheffield Heights, be careful
- 4:28Speaker 1: driving up there. And then Sunday cloudy start, some late
- 4:34Speaker 1: afternoon sunshine and fifty five degrees. I'll tell you why
- 4:38Speaker 1: today's a great day, even though it's freezing out there.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Wellness Wednesday with Wells Based Building twenty three Summer Street
- 4:47Speaker 1: right here in the Granite City. It is hosted by
- 4:50Speaker 1: Washington County Mental Health. It is free, it is open
- 4:53Speaker 1: to the public. They've been doing this the first three
- 4:56Speaker 1: Wednesdays of every month. It's from four thirty to seven.
- 5:00Speaker 1: If you haven't been yet, you want to try out
- 5:03Speaker 1: a Swedish massage, maybe some reiki, some sound healing. Heather
- 5:11Speaker 1: and I were talking about this at great lengths the
- 5:14Speaker 1: other morning, Monday morning. As a matter of fact, it's
- 5:16Speaker 1: over in her office over at well Space. It is
- 5:20Speaker 1: the place to go on a Wednesday. Just trust me
- 5:23Speaker 1: on this. Four seven nine, four zero, five to five.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You can leave your wallet at home, but that's the
- 5:27Speaker 1: number to call to set up a you know, kind
- 5:32Speaker 1: of a time slot reservation. That's what I'm trying to
- 5:35Speaker 1: say for a massage, chair, massage, table, massage, you name it.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Walkin's always welcome for the acupuncture and acupressure, a little
- 5:47Speaker 1: bit of mindfulness meditation. Who doesn't need that? Everyone does? Again,
- 5:53Speaker 1: everything free. Make plians now. It is this aufternoon, starting
- 5:56Speaker 1: at four thirty. And yes, as we wrote this morning
- 6:01Speaker 1: on our Facebook page, you deserve this, so take advantage
- 6:05Speaker 1: of it. Fore Casted washouts push the Northeast Classic to
- 6:14Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday, April eighteenth and nineteenth. That's the headline
- 6:19Speaker 1: that I got, along with so many others yesterday. And
- 6:24Speaker 1: Stephen Donahue is going to be joining us shortly this
- 6:27Speaker 1: morning to talk about that Facebook question of the day.
- 6:30Speaker 1: This new survey out on digital clutter, and I found
- 6:34Speaker 1: it very interesting that the average American has just over
- 6:39Speaker 1: one thousand unread emails, one thousand and forty four to
- 6:43Speaker 1: be exacting, I'm I'm one of those Americans. I don't
- 6:51Speaker 1: even I've got well over that, and I know it's
- 6:54Speaker 1: very sad. Twelve unread text messages. This is the average
- 7:00Speaker 1: of unread text messages. I've got more than that, seventeen
- 7:04Speaker 1: unread social media notifications don't have that one. But still
- 7:09Speaker 1: that's all. This is the average American. And to be clear,
- 7:12Speaker 1: that is those were unread emails and texts, not unanswered,
- 7:19Speaker 1: just totally unread, which is different kind of but either way,
- 7:24Speaker 1: it's obviously clearly something that many of us have little
- 7:30Speaker 1: time or energy for. So and I'm asking you this morning,
- 7:34Speaker 1: if he had a full day to do nothing but read, delete,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and or respond to emails and texts, would you take
- 7:43Speaker 1: the opportunity to catch up. Would it depend on how
- 7:46Speaker 1: the weather is? If it was a crappy day, you
- 7:48Speaker 1: could stay inside and do that all day. Would you
- 7:51Speaker 1: do it even if it was sunny and beautiful out?
- 7:54Speaker 1: I don't know. On the ice last night, Bruins Gate
- 7:59Speaker 1: past the Double seven into Too Celtic Squeet by the
- 8:02Speaker 1: Knicks one nineteen to one seventeen. The final NASCAR heads
- 8:07Speaker 1: to Bristol this weekend. There's a lot of stuff going
- 8:12Speaker 1: on Vermont News. Here we go. Buckle up for mont Day.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Police say they are continuing to investigate after a hoax
- 8:20Speaker 1: threat that targeted about a dozen schools across the state. Yesterday.
- 8:25Speaker 1: For Mont Date, police said they were notified that an
- 8:28Speaker 1: unknown person had called the Department of Defense self helpline
- 8:33Speaker 1: chat function to make threats against twelve middle end high
- 8:38Speaker 1: schools across the state. Investigator said the call exhibited the
- 8:41Speaker 1: same threatening characteristics of previous hoax and swatting campaigns. All
- 8:48Speaker 1: threats made against the schools were determined to be unfounded.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Great news, but what a scary yesterday and a lot
- 8:54Speaker 1: of police presidents around many of these schools. The Vermont
- 8:58Speaker 1: House is rap up work on their education reform plan,
- 9:02Speaker 1: with most details finalized ahead of the full House vote
- 9:07Speaker 1: later this week. The proposed legislation includes a foundation formula
- 9:11Speaker 1: for education funding, a study to consider redrawing district lines,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and updates to Vermont's property tax structure. Colchester police have
- 9:24Speaker 1: arrested a man after reports of an armed chase outside
- 9:27Speaker 1: of that daycare center on Prim Road Monday afternoon. I
- 9:31Speaker 1: was talking about this a little bit yesterday. Officers were
- 9:34Speaker 1: told that this guy was chasing a woman with a
- 9:36Speaker 1: gun in the parking lot of a daycare center, Little
- 9:41Speaker 1: Lakers Academy is what it's called. Twenty two year old
- 9:46Speaker 1: Robert Jenst taken into custody, charged with aggravated domestic assault,
- 9:53Speaker 1: weapons possession while committing a felony, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I could probably think of a few more that we
- 10:06Speaker 1: could add to that list, but then again, we're in
- 10:12Speaker 1: Vermont national headlines the US, and I know my blood
- 10:21Speaker 1: pressure is going up right alongside yours. US is set
- 10:26Speaker 1: to impose one hundred and four percent tariffs on Chinese
- 10:30Speaker 1: goods starting when today. US is also going to begin
- 10:40Speaker 1: collecting new country specific tariffs from eighty five other trading
- 10:46Speaker 1: partners today. Watch out, fifteen percent of our food supply
- 10:53Speaker 1: here in America is imported. Fifteen percent doesn't sound like
- 10:58Speaker 1: a big number. Watch what happens in the grocery stores.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Watch what happens with electronics, clothing. The list goes on,
- 11:06Speaker 1: And that's just China. The new reciprocal tariffs took place
- 11:16Speaker 1: at midnight last night, so we are preparing for price
- 11:21Speaker 1: increases on a wide range of goods far beyond those
- 11:27Speaker 1: items that I just mentioned. Watch what happens to produce
- 11:31Speaker 1: seafood technology. Rising tariffs on building materials also going to
- 11:42Speaker 1: be creating significant challenges for local construction companies and nonprofit
- 11:46Speaker 1: organizations working to address Vermont's ongoing housing crisis. You bet
- 11:54Speaker 1: Barslow Construction and I are going to be talking about
- 11:56Speaker 1: this on Friday morning. Materials like lumber, steel, glass are
- 12:00Speaker 1: the concern, making it more difficult to build future projects. Apple,
- 12:07Speaker 1: did you hear about this this morning? Apple is considering
- 12:11Speaker 1: shifting its iPhone production to India to offset tariff costs.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So if you love your Apple iPhone, you might be
- 12:23Speaker 1: thinking about getting a new one. You might have to
- 12:28Speaker 1: dip into your life savings, what's left of it, or
- 12:31Speaker 1: your four h one k if it hasn't been cashed
- 12:35Speaker 1: out yet already Supreme Court on Tuesday yesterday blocking in
- 12:42Speaker 1: order for the Trump administration to return to work thousands
- 12:47Speaker 1: of federal employees who were let go in mass firings
- 12:50Speaker 1: aimed at dramatically downsizing the federal government. The Justice is
- 12:55Speaker 1: acted in the administration's emergency appeal of a ruling by
- 13:01Speaker 1: a federal judge in California ordering that sixteen thousand probationary
- 13:07Speaker 1: employees be reinstated while a lawsuit plays out because their
- 13:12Speaker 1: firings didn't follow federal law. The effect of the High courts,
- 13:17Speaker 1: I'm going to keep employees in six federal agencies on
- 13:21Speaker 1: paid administrative leave for now. Wow, there is there's a
- 13:31Speaker 1: lot of stuff that's going on a lot. It was
- 13:38Speaker 1: supposed to be a huge opening weekend for the American
- 13:48Speaker 1: Canadian Tour this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The
- 13:53Speaker 1: press release yesterday reads, and I got this along with
- 13:58Speaker 1: the rest of you. After weather already rereaked havoc on
- 14:03Speaker 1: Thompson Speedway's Icebreaker, rain has continued to pester the American
- 14:08Speaker 1: Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series partnership this time
- 14:14Speaker 1: with the fifth annual Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Anticipated rain showers and cold temperatures have forced officials to
- 14:23Speaker 1: take advantage of the pre planned rain dates, with practice
- 14:29Speaker 1: day now scheduled for Friday, April eighteenth, and it looks
- 14:36Speaker 1: like Saturday the nineteenth will be the green flag for
- 14:39Speaker 1: the Northeast Classic, fifth annual. By the way, so you know, frustrating,
- 14:46Speaker 1: absolutely no question about it. And one driver who was
- 14:54Speaker 1: looking to redeem last year's finish and now is not
- 14:58Speaker 1: going to be able to get the chain chance to
- 15:00Speaker 1: do that is none other than Little Irish himself. Granted,
- 15:05Speaker 1: Phil Stephen Donahue, Good morning, buddy.
- 15:06Speaker 2: How the hell are you going? Doing pretty good?
- 15:09Speaker 1: What was your what was your your take yesterday when
- 15:13Speaker 1: you got that news?
- 15:15Speaker 3: Definitely a bummer, but I mean, watching the weather, obviously
- 15:19Speaker 3: we all kind of knew that it was a good
- 15:20Speaker 3: possibility it was going to happen. Yeah, obviously ACT can't
- 15:26Speaker 3: control the weather, and it sucks that they had to
- 15:28Speaker 3: move it, but that's all all part of the game.
- 15:33Speaker 1: What happened last year at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for you, well.
- 15:38Speaker 3: We had a good car and we took off and
- 15:43Speaker 3: we're battling for the lead and then into that batling
- 15:45Speaker 3: for second. And as a driver and I were running
- 15:50Speaker 3: hard and I went into the corner on the bottom
- 15:53Speaker 3: like I would normally go in after you ran me
- 15:56Speaker 3: down to the road course down the back straight, and
- 16:01Speaker 3: he just tearing down in the corner like I wasn't
- 16:03Speaker 3: even there, and he went around, and I went around,
- 16:06Speaker 3: and he went into the wall, and I stayed in
- 16:09Speaker 3: the gas to keep it out of the wall, and
- 16:12Speaker 3: fortunately another car behind us followed me right down to
- 16:15Speaker 3: the grass and drove into our door, but nowhere to go. Yeah,
- 16:21Speaker 3: just kind of ended a good run there and ended
- 16:26Speaker 3: up taking the car home and fixing the little bit
- 16:30Speaker 3: of tin on the bottom of the car and got
- 16:33Speaker 3: it ready for the next race. That's the one nice
- 16:35Speaker 3: thing about that guy being old and heavy. It takes
- 16:39Speaker 3: a beating.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I know you're anxious to get back over there,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but you've got to refocus things here. On April nineteenth,
- 16:49Speaker 1: the Claremont opening, which of course you're you're very excited about.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It had been looking forward to for a long time.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Are you excited, I'm guessing.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm definitely excited.
- 17:03Speaker 3: The plan was obviously to go over there with Norm
- 17:05Speaker 3: and the two car, but unfortunately with him passing away
- 17:10Speaker 3: that those plans obviously didn't come to flourishing.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Right. Uncle Bill was planning on going down there with
- 17:16Speaker 2: us with his care.
- 17:17Speaker 3: And he was like, well, you guys are planning on
- 17:20Speaker 3: doing it, just I'll go down all in the car
- 17:24Speaker 3: and you drive my car down there trying to have fun,
- 17:27Speaker 3: which makes it a little bit easier with it not
- 17:29Speaker 3: being every week to have that little time in between
- 17:34Speaker 3: to where we can still really focus on our thunder
- 17:36Speaker 3: Road but still go down there and have some fun.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Sure, tell us about last season at thunder Road for you, Steven.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it definitely was not the season we were hoping
- 17:51Speaker 3: for after winning the championship in twenty three.
- 17:54Speaker 2: But we struggled in the beginning.
- 17:57Speaker 3: And we changed some new parts on our car, new
- 18:00Speaker 3: spindles and stuff because they got bent, and by mid
- 18:05Speaker 3: season we had changed everything back and it still wasn't working.
- 18:08Speaker 3: So we started really changing setup stuff and by the
- 18:12Speaker 3: second half of the year we started to running a
- 18:14Speaker 3: lot better than we did, but it was just a
- 18:15Speaker 3: little a little too late to make up the point
- 18:19Speaker 3: deficit that we made going into the begetting prout of
- 18:23Speaker 3: the year.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, there was. There were a couple of of of
- 18:27Speaker 1: rough rough days for you, and you know, Bussy Fisher,
- 18:33Speaker 1: you could capture in your eye a little bit of
- 18:36Speaker 1: frustration at times.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Yeah, there's definitely a lot of that this past year.
- 18:42Speaker 3: And what we did the year before we figured would
- 18:46Speaker 3: work again, and it just with what with the tires
- 18:49Speaker 3: being different and things that just the setup didn't work
- 18:54Speaker 3: like it did and it was hard to fill the
- 18:57Speaker 3: swallow to get me to want to change things when
- 19:00Speaker 3: the guy was so good the year before.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And finally when I opened up to it, it.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Was we sided to make some headway, which I wish
- 19:07Speaker 3: I would have just done right off and not been
- 19:09Speaker 3: so hard headed in the beginning of the year.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Well you're irish, buddy, I mean, come on, what what
- 19:17Speaker 1: did Uncle Bill and John say to you last season
- 19:24Speaker 1: when you had a couple of rough rough days.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I just said, it's it's part of it, which I
- 19:32Speaker 2: know what you've got.
- 19:34Speaker 3: You're gonna when you're gonna lose a lot more races
- 19:36Speaker 3: than you win, and you're gonna have good years and
- 19:39Speaker 3: bad years. It was just keep keep working on, keep
- 19:43Speaker 3: going through the cat try and find something, and every
- 19:46Speaker 3: time we found something that was a little different, we
- 19:48Speaker 3: change it. It just wouldn't make up all the difference. And
- 19:51Speaker 3: they just said, we'll get it eventually. We just gotta
- 19:53Speaker 3: keep working on, don't. Don't just give up more or less.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you listen. I know you've got some real exciting
- 20:02Speaker 1: news to share. We've all seen it on Facebook about
- 20:07Speaker 1: a new sponsor. But before we go there, you you
- 20:11Speaker 1: were just talking a little bit ago about twenty twenty three.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Tell me about October first, twenty twenty three. Your dream
- 20:21Speaker 1: became reality of sharing a milky, wet kiss with a cow,
- 20:27Speaker 1: and you got your name etched into.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Granted, Yeah, that was definitely the icing on the cake
- 20:35Speaker 3: for how the year went. And get king in the
- 20:38Speaker 3: road was cool. But I always said that I'd always
- 20:41Speaker 3: rather have the Milk Bowl.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Than its championship. But then to go to the Milk
- 20:46Speaker 2: Bowl like we.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Did and have a really good car and win, it
- 20:53Speaker 3: was just a dream come true for sure. And I
- 20:55Speaker 3: just still hard to believe we got the milk can
- 20:58Speaker 3: up at the house and sitting there. But it's still
- 21:01Speaker 3: hard to really fathom that I finally got to do
- 21:04Speaker 3: what I've always wanted to do at thunder Road.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Man, you had a shit eating grint on your face
- 21:11Speaker 1: a mile wide Stephen, Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 2: It was.
- 21:16Speaker 3: It was amazing. And then to have my uncle there
- 21:19Speaker 3: and my dad and my papa all be able to
- 21:22Speaker 3: be there and witness it and tried taking it was
- 21:27Speaker 3: It wasn't incredible. It was just a perfect ending of
- 21:30Speaker 3: the year for what for what we actually kind of
- 21:35Speaker 3: expected going into the year.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We didn't really expect to be as.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Good as we were, and we just never really fell
- 21:43Speaker 3: off all year. It was the cat stayed consistent and
- 21:46Speaker 3: it was just it was a lot of fun. Obviously,
- 21:48Speaker 3: when you're running good, it's always fun. But yeah, what
- 21:52Speaker 3: made last year so difficult?
- 21:54Speaker 1: I remember asking you what would be that that that
- 21:58Speaker 1: big race that you have a one yet that you
- 22:01Speaker 1: you got to just win, And I remember you obviously
- 22:04Speaker 1: saying the Milk Bowl and be prepared because I'm gonna
- 22:06Speaker 1: ask you that question again this morning. But interesting that
- 22:10Speaker 1: that that was sticking to the bone a little bit
- 22:14Speaker 1: more than becoming King of the Road. That's that's fascinating.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I mean I got the King of the Road, which Dad,
- 22:24Speaker 3: unfortunately was never able to get, so that was cool
- 22:26Speaker 3: to get that, but just the with the prestige of
- 22:29Speaker 3: the Milk Bowl and how Ken and Tom really made
- 22:33Speaker 3: that the big race of the whole season. Even back
- 22:38Speaker 3: when like lay Maul still did the ultrad to fifty,
- 22:42Speaker 3: the Milk Bowl was just always something a little different.
- 22:45Speaker 3: But it being basically three weekly races and one day
- 22:48Speaker 3: and the pushing the carriers out and everyone going on
- 22:52Speaker 3: the front stretch and the Tom trials, they just it's
- 22:54Speaker 3: such a different race than we get to do all year.
- 22:58Speaker 3: And for Pat and Chris to keep that alive, which
- 23:03Speaker 3: is really really cool, just makes that race just so
- 23:07Speaker 3: much more different for me personally.
- 23:09Speaker 2: That's why I just mean so much more.
- 23:13Speaker 1: All right here it comes that that questions, what's that
- 23:17Speaker 1: race in twenty twenty five that you just have to
- 23:24Speaker 1: have checkers?
- 23:27Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Now, obviously I won't win the Mike Bowl again, but
- 23:30Speaker 3: the Labor Day Classic, the two hundred lapper is definitely
- 23:34Speaker 3: one that I got marked specifically that I really want
- 23:38Speaker 3: to put a ton of effort into to try and
- 23:40Speaker 3: go and win that one. That way, I got all
- 23:42Speaker 3: three granteds out on top with my name on it.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I have that two flap race.
- 23:47Speaker 3: That'll check that race off and it'll give me my
- 23:49Speaker 3: first Points Act win, which would be really good.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Wow. Sixty sixth season is right in front of us Sunday,
- 24:00Speaker 1: May fourth, the twenty seventh Annual Community Bank and a
- 24:03Speaker 1: one fifty.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Uh.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I'm guessing you're gonna be there for that.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, we'll be there.
- 24:09Speaker 3: We're gonna have our thunder Road car h the one
- 24:13Speaker 3: will run all year, but that one's gonna be there
- 24:16Speaker 3: for the car show, and we're gonna practice it a
- 24:18Speaker 3: little bit, shake it down because we got to another
- 24:21Speaker 3: motor in that car for this year, just to try
- 24:23Speaker 3: and make sure we got no bugs for the first
- 24:25Speaker 3: race Memorial Day.
- 24:27Speaker 2: But we're gonna run our our.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Old heavy Care that we've done some changing to for
- 24:33Speaker 3: the actual race, and hopefully we'll be able to come
- 24:36Speaker 3: out of the gate strong for sure in that race
- 24:38Speaker 3: and ride that momentum through the whole season.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I think pretty much all of Central Fromad is gonna
- 24:45Speaker 1: be up at that car show on May third from
- 24:47Speaker 1: nine to two and nine till noon, and then you're
- 24:50Speaker 1: gonna be, like you said, You're gonna be running practice
- 24:54Speaker 1: laps until like what five o'clock or so that night.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be uh.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I haven't really looked at the schedule yet for the
- 25:01Speaker 3: race day, but I'm assuming that we'll probably have about
- 25:03Speaker 3: four hours of practice.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Between all the divisions, and Saturday obviously is going to
- 25:11Speaker 2: be just a.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Big make sure nothing comes a power, everything's tight, no
- 25:15Speaker 3: leaks anywhere, so Sunday we'll be able to come out
- 25:19Speaker 3: scrup the race tires and then get right into qualifying.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Throw some love, if you would add those that have
- 25:26Speaker 1: been turning wrenches for you, your your crew as well.
- 25:32Speaker 1: They've been working so hard to try to get this
- 25:34Speaker 1: car ready for this weekend, which is not gonna happen
- 25:37Speaker 1: because of the weather over at Loudon, But yeah, man,
- 25:42Speaker 1: give give them some some big props if you can.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely. My father, he's been putting a lot.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Of time into the cars this this winner. And Justin
- 25:52Speaker 3: Johnson who has been up a lot this winter working
- 25:56Speaker 3: a lot on the cars, Jordan's Blaze, Brian Tellergreeney, my
- 25:59Speaker 3: girl Fernanda has been on touching him up, helping change
- 26:02Speaker 3: body panels and going through all the bearings. Sean Lampson
- 26:07Speaker 3: has been up a lot Rowley Park has been at
- 26:09Speaker 3: the shop with my dad helping anyway he can. Mark
- 26:14Speaker 3: Lampey has been helping us, not so much working on
- 26:17Speaker 3: the car, but he's been helping us a lot with
- 26:18Speaker 3: knowledge on what to do and what to possibly change
- 26:22Speaker 3: to try and get a little bit better this year.
- 26:26Speaker 3: And it's just been definitely been a busy winner. We
- 26:29Speaker 3: got most of the body parts done on all the
- 26:31Speaker 3: other caves, but then we kind of got behind on
- 26:34Speaker 3: our loud and cast. So last week has been really
- 26:37Speaker 3: all hands on deck until obviously the news yesterday, which
- 26:41Speaker 3: and now we focused on getting that car ready for
- 26:43Speaker 3: thunder Road.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Sure, Sure and April nineteenth at the at Clairemont, the
- 26:50Speaker 1: the Claremont opening. That's gonna be. That's gonna be tremendous.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And I know, I know you're you're worked up about that,
- 26:55Speaker 1: but listen, sponsor wise, you have there are so many
- 27:01Speaker 1: businesses that just love you. And I think they love
- 27:07Speaker 1: you off the track just as much as they love
- 27:10Speaker 1: you on the track, because you're just a You're just
- 27:13Speaker 1: a good guy. You're a humble dude. But one Credit
- 27:17Speaker 1: Union just wrote you a very nice check, Steven.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yeah, they them coming on board this year is big
- 27:28Speaker 3: with they're really really excited for and it's I'm really
- 27:34Speaker 3: excited for it. We're gonna have a little a little
- 27:36Speaker 3: different looking cat than we've had the past two years
- 27:39Speaker 3: with it, but I'm really excited to see what we
- 27:42Speaker 3: can do with them, and they're excited and all on
- 27:45Speaker 3: board and hoping we can continue to build on this
- 27:49Speaker 3: for the next few years, possibly do the tour and
- 27:52Speaker 3: and continue to branch.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Out with it.
- 27:55Speaker 1: And your other sponsors.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Yeah, with one Credit Union coming on there the main sponsor.
- 28:01Speaker 3: They're they're the big one down the hood in the quarters.
- 28:05Speaker 3: And we got Prime Salon and day Spa and Stone
- 28:08Speaker 3: Service Station and McCarthy family.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Maple Lowry's Auto Sales, a J.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Recycling, ab excavation and Stonework aired out. Obviously, We've got
- 28:20Speaker 3: Precious Paws, eight or two pause c Burnaby Trucking, four seasons,
- 28:27Speaker 3: h VAC cliffhangers, we.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Got Summer Street Tavern.
- 28:34Speaker 3: And the Den sponsored us with doing our Calcutta things.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And uh then.
- 28:41Speaker 3: I got some more great sponsors for the Claremont Ride,
- 28:44Speaker 3: which is also one Credit Union because they got a
- 28:47Speaker 3: branch down there, which is very cool. Rutland Dodge Ram
- 28:53Speaker 3: KMV Designs Kitchen and Counters LLC. And then we got
- 29:00Speaker 3: Rickland fram Trucking, which is my business that I do
- 29:03Speaker 3: all summer long haul and material and construction things. And
- 29:08Speaker 3: we got Rutledge Construction that came on board this year,
- 29:11Speaker 3: which is really cool. They've a big race fan but
- 29:15Speaker 3: never been on a CARR, so he's excited. So hopefully
- 29:19Speaker 3: it's going to be a good year at both tracks
- 29:22Speaker 3: and as well as doing some of our act races
- 29:25Speaker 3: that will do over our White Mountain stuff.
- 29:28Speaker 1: What a list. That's impressive, brother.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's great to have people that sponsor, help help.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Get a car of the track and help with tires.
- 29:41Speaker 3: And fuel, and it's obviously a very expensive sport and
- 29:45Speaker 3: the fact that they believe in me that they want
- 29:47Speaker 3: to promote their business on my car is just really
- 29:51Speaker 3: really an honor because it's hard to get sponsors nowadays,
- 29:55Speaker 3: and when you get one, you obviously want to do
- 30:00Speaker 3: the best you can to promote their business.
- 30:02Speaker 2: So it's definitely definitely really humbling. For sure.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Are you going to be able to keep it on
- 30:09Speaker 1: all fours in twenty twenty five?
- 30:13Speaker 3: I'm hoping, So I'm hoping there's no more on my
- 30:16Speaker 3: roof or on fire or anything.
- 30:19Speaker 2: So I'm hoping the cow stay nice looking all year.
- 30:23Speaker 1: That's you know, that's part of your legacy. There's nothing
- 30:25Speaker 1: you can do about it. Brother. Everybody's going to remember
- 30:28Speaker 1: that that crash, and there's even several that remember you
- 30:35Speaker 1: being on aired out with me shortly before that crash
- 30:39Speaker 1: saying that the worst fear that you could have would
- 30:42Speaker 1: be being in a car that's on fire. I mean
- 30:45Speaker 1: some people would say in a car underwater, but you
- 30:50Speaker 1: said in a car that's on fire, And right after
- 30:54Speaker 1: you were on the air with me that happened.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely not a not a good thing and open
- 31:02Speaker 3: to not not have a repeat, that's for sure.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I love the fact that you you you went up
- 31:07Speaker 1: to the hospital with some some burns and and a
- 31:12Speaker 1: banged up, very banged up a wrist I think it was,
- 31:17Speaker 1: And I think they didn't they wanted to put you
- 31:19Speaker 1: in a cast or something, and and you you got
- 31:23Speaker 1: back in the car right after that.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they that night they put me in a splint
- 31:28Speaker 3: and wrapped it all up. So the next day we
- 31:32Speaker 3: had to figure out how to get a suit that
- 31:35Speaker 3: my that the splint would go through. So I could
- 31:37Speaker 3: get to the track to growth tend to win a
- 31:40Speaker 3: championship for Norm and ended.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Up having to put ave on my hand.
- 31:44Speaker 3: That way it had some protection in case something did
- 31:47Speaker 3: happen again and.
- 31:49Speaker 1: You won that championship.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we ended up winning the race and the championship,
- 31:54Speaker 3: and it was that was really cool to go over there.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Just all we had to do was start, but driving
- 32:00Speaker 3: all the way over there and everyone that worked on
- 32:03Speaker 3: the current at the time and to get it ready.
- 32:05Speaker 3: I definitely wasn't just gonna start in park. I wanted
- 32:08Speaker 3: to do what I could and the car was just
- 32:10Speaker 3: really really fast, so made it a little bit easier
- 32:13Speaker 3: for me to drive and ease the pain a little
- 32:17Speaker 3: bit in my hand.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And you were in pain. You you did that race,
- 32:23Speaker 1: You won that race, in that championship with a bum wrist.
- 32:28Speaker 1: You're a tough dude, man, I just you're You're a
- 32:32Speaker 1: tough guy.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Kind of this tough and stupid, but it's definitely something.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Man, we so many of us watching listening this morning,
- 32:47Speaker 1: wish you and the rest of your family a great
- 32:53Speaker 1: season I had and hopefully a little bit better than
- 32:59Speaker 1: twenty twenty four or which was a little bit of
- 33:03Speaker 1: an off season for you. But man, it's like we're
- 33:06Speaker 1: just gunning for you. Brother. You are so well loved
- 33:09Speaker 1: and respected in this community and far beyond.
- 33:15Speaker 3: It's open, open to definitely be a little bit better
- 33:18Speaker 3: season and hopefully make everybody proud to be wearing a
- 33:23Speaker 3: Donnie shirt and support me for sure.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Brother, Thank you ever so much. You know, I know
- 33:31Speaker 1: I say this to you every year, but I would
- 33:34Speaker 1: love to, if possible, try to connect with you mid season.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I know it's it's just pure insanity for you. I'll
- 33:44Speaker 1: reach out, I'll give you a little poke, and if possible,
- 33:49Speaker 1: I'll come to you. I'll come to your garage, uh
- 33:51Speaker 1: if if if that's uh, that's welcome. But I I'd
- 33:54Speaker 1: love to have you back on mid season if we
- 33:57Speaker 1: possibly can do that.
