Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville jackwars fans welcome in to do wall daily presented by Jinjak.com and fueled by brass tax coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's Thursday, October 15th.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm your host Jordan Delugo and right now we are getting you ready for jackwars and Texans in London.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Wars is giving up a divisional home game to take on the Texans in London.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: They are coming off of a miracle win against the Eagles last week at Tottenham, where the Jaguars were technically hosting the Eagles, but the Eagles had a much bigger advantage over the Jaguars having a ton of loud Philadelphia Eagles fans in the stadium.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars often had a difficult time dealing with that, and the Jaguars despite that, despite the penalties and the pre-snap operation, they were able to secure an absolute
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of the game eight seconds left.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Jake Elliott makes a field goal to put the eagles up, but the Jaguars are able to You know lock in a 50 plus yard return from a mirror of dueling who goes down with one second left sets up a 57 yard Cam little field goal
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Devon Hamilton is able to deliver a snap that Logan Cook can handle.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: Camelittle knocks it through the uprights.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars win.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: While the Texans are coming off their first one of the season and dominant fashion over the Tennessee Titans, the Texans need this game.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: At one in four, they absolutely need this one.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: They do not fall to want to fall to one in five while the Jaguars get to five in one.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a huge, a pivotal AFC South matchup.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: The two teams split last year, the Jaguars took the first one in Jacksonville and then fell in Houston later in the season.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars collapsed, gave up a 19-point second half lead against Houston and Houston.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was one of the few games last year where the Jaguars defense run defense actually kind of started giving up chunk plays and that happened in the second half the Texans were able to come back and beat the Jaguars and the Jaguars that game kind of I think.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: instead of being a game that let the Jack Wars kind of have doubt creep in and fall apart frankly it was a springboard for this team that they won every game after that and and they won the division so the Jack Wars obviously will wanting will be wanting to get
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: get back at the Texans after what they view as just an embarrassing game and what the fan base views as an embarrassing game that the Jag war has played in Houston last year again, giving up a 29 to 10 lead.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: The Jag war has gave up what was it 26 straight points against the Texans in the second half.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Jag war is going to want to wipe that one from their memory banks.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: But from an injury standpoint, the Texans, they will be without Jalen Petrie.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: and all likelihood, who is one of their best secondary players and one of their best players overall.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: A playmaker, a chess piece on the defensive side of the ball.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: For the Texans, they'll also be without David Montgomery, who they brought over.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: from Detroit this year, the running back who hasn't gotten off to the best start.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans running game in general hasn't gotten off to the best start, but you're gonna see a lot more woody marks.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: You could possibly get tanked L back in this game for the Texans at wide receiver for the first time in like two years.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: He practiced fully on Wednesday remains to be seen whether or not he will suit up for the Texans in this one.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is there'll be without Anton Harrison, who injured his knees.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna have Arthur Scopic surgery.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: next week when the Jaguars return home from London, the Jaguars are heading into a buy week, but no Anton Harrison is a big deal, but that's why you keep a walker little around so he can come in and spot duty and start for you.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: If needed, but this is against one of the most dangerous defensive fronts in football, walker little really struggled against the Texans last year was one of the main culprits behind the Jaguars epic collapse in the second half.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: But he has played good football when he's been on the field so far in 2026.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown, Jaguar's corner back did not practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury, while Eric Murray missed last week.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar starting safety.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was limited on Wednesday, going through concussion protocol, trying to get back on the field.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans, they're offense.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty impressive, it's better than it has been in recent years.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: They will get into three wide receiver looks as much as any team in the league, try to spread the Jaguars out a little bit, and with Marvin Harrison Jr. entering the fold for them after they traded for him this past week, reuniting with CJ Stroud, college quarterback there, Ohio State Connection, that could be dangerous for a potentially banged up Jaguars secondary.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Will they have Buster Brown?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Will they have Eric Murray?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: that again remains to be seen.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Stroud has been excellent this year.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't thrown a single interception and he has been playing with a lot more confidence in the pocket, but the Texans are still just one and four.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that?
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: Why have they not been able to win football games?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, their defense, particularly in the secondary, has not been quite as good as you would expect to this point in the year.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: You've had readblink and ship come over.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: from the Philadelphia Eagles, and he hasn't been the steady in force that they had hoped for, and then you also have Kamari Lasser getting picked on a little bit more than he has in the past, and not really coming up with the plays that he normally does, as a really, really feisty, lockdown corner opposite Derek Stingley.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: So the Texan secondary hasn't been as good as you would expect.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Their ground game on offense has been subpar, again, I mentioned the David Montgomery edition hasn't kind of worked out how they would like, but you'll see a lot more woody marks in this game.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: But it's difficult to win games when your past coverage isn't as good as you expect and your run game isn't as good as you would expect.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: They came into the year trying to be a much more physical team on the offensive side of the ball, but it looks like they're pivoting to try and be more of this spread offense, which I do think kind of suits CJ Straud's skill set.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars though, they're four and one, they're four and one for a reason.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: They have one of the more balanced and well-coached teams in football.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Still, Texans passing attack poses a major threat with the Jaguar's potentially missing multiple starters in the secondary.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars will likely make the Texans one-dimensional.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: with the best run defense in football.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have not allowed a 40-yard Russia this year.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: Back to back games, allowing less than 25 yards on the ground.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars run defense is unbelievable.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's anchored by Devon Hamilton, but you have good run defenders throughout the Jaguars defense.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker two of the best run defending edges in football.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, whoever it's been next to Devon Hamilton on the interior, whether it be Eric Garnstedt, Matt Dickerson, Rukororo, they've been doing a good job on the interior as well.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: At the second level of intro, Miller, one of the best run-defending linebackers in football, foe, Lua kind of very balanced player as well, smart player and...
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson has been playing lights out at safety for the Jaguars and their DB's corners they have no problem coming down and getting physical against the run.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: On the offensive side of the ball for the Jaguars they need to be able to run the ball.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: and they have been able to this year.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to Bacial Tutan, thanks to an improved run blocking scheme and overall effectiveness in the run blocking department.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: They don't need to have a game here where they average four or five yards of carry, but if they can stay out of long down in distance, keep a little bit of balance, get the play action game going potentially.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: It'll give the Jaguar's offense, I think, a puncher's chance to have a good outing with Trevor Lawrence, Parker Washington, Jacobi, Myers, Britain, Strange Josh Cameron and
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: all playing very good football through the air for the Jaguars.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: That entire group we just mentioned has been very efficient.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: The one player who hasn't been very efficient for the Jaguars passing attack is Brian Thomas Jr., he's had some big games against the Texans, some big moments against the Texans, he caught a pass that helped the Jaguars secure their first victory against the Texans last year, late in the game, will he be able to have an impact for the Jaguars in this one that's going to be something we're watching for.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: With a banged up and suspect offence of line, Trevor Lawrence will need to feel the pressure much better than he did at times a week ago, much more consistent pocket movement.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be at key for the Jaguars in this one.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: The pre-snap operation is also a major storyline to follow.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has been one of the most penalized teams or the most penalized team over the last two weeks in the NFL, two straight games with 13 penalties.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: That is unacceptable.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: A big part of that has been holding calls, but it's also been the pre-snap operation.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: The communication getting to the line quick, being able to get the snap off.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: So Liam Cohen took that upon himself this week.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: talked about how he needs to get the calls in quicker, more concise, less verbiage, and give the offense more of a chance to really execute at a very high level.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be something to follow.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguar is also, you know, they're deploying a new long snap for this week, Devon Hamilton did his very best and spot duty for
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: The injured Ross Mattis took out long snapper last week, but you want Devon Hamilton to be able to focus on the defensive side of the ball.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: You bring in Jacob Bob and Moir, who is a very experienced player, has started a lot of games as a long snapper and snapped the ball a lot in this league.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: If he can handle things without issue, the Jaguar Special Team's units will have a chance to help them win this game as well.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: They have dangerous returners,
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: on the kickoff, on punt return.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: They've been doing a better job covering kickoffs.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Their punt cover is excellent.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: And they have one of the most dangerous kickers in the NFL right now in Cam Little.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jaguars will be looking to potentially have a boost from their special teams.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: But again, one of the more balanced teams in football right now, the Jaguars are, while the Texans are still trying to get their footing here in 2026.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Whoever wins this game is gonna set themselves up in a great way
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, even if the Jags lose, they're sitting in a good spot, right?
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: But if the Jags lose and the Texans win, the Texans have a very, very favorable schedule ahead, especially over the next four or so games, if the Texans win this game, I would not be surprised to see them rattle off five straight victories and quickly.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: get back over 500.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: However, if they lose this game, they're in a spot where they basically have to be perfect the rest of the way if they want any chance of being able to compete for an AFC South Division title.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Again, if the Jag war is win, they get to 5 and 1 heading into a by week and then hosting the Indianapolis Colts in Jacksonville and Jacksonville has been a house of horrors for the Colts.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to do it for this one.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: We will have a normal content scheduled today.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into matchups to watch later.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Friday probably only won one video, and then Saturday will have bold predictions as well.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: But again, that's gonna do it really appreciate y'all being here.
