- 1:38That's what this week is about in case
- 1:39you didn't know.
- 1:40Welcome everyone to Inspirations For Your Life.
- 1:43I'm John C.
- 1:44Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 1:47podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student and
- 1:51a passionate lifelong learner.
- 1:53And also ladies and gentlemen, I am, yes,
- 1:56going to be a published author very, very
- 1:59soon.
- 2:00So I'm really excited about that guys.
- 2:04So today's episode dives into focus, prioritization and
- 2:10of course clarity.
- 2:11We explore how deliberate attention, intentional choices and
- 2:16disciplined focus, multiply results, reduce stress and create
- 2:21unstoppable momentum.
- 2:23Okay.
- 2:23It is Tuesday.
- 2:24It is February 24th, 2026 if you're watching
- 2:27us live.
- 2:28And we're going to dive right into the
- 2:29first point and that is focus turns intention
- 2:32into measurable results.
- 2:34So when we focus with true intention, we
- 2:36have measurable results, we can always change them
- 2:38if we want.
- 2:38And this is when your mind is fully
- 2:40on a goal.
- 2:41Every action compounds toward it.
- 2:44Now I don't mean it happens once, it
- 2:45happens over and over again because that's how
- 2:48it works.
- 2:52Um, think about that for a moment or
- 2:57think about how, what that means to you.
- 3:02I want to talk to you about prioritization.
- 3:07Prioritization ensures energy is spent on what matters
- 3:10most, avoiding tasks that give minimal impact because
- 3:13let's face it guys, that's going to happen
- 3:15in our world.
- 3:17Um, and so that's a very, very important
- 3:19thing.
- 3:20Number three guys, clarity simplifies tough decisions, reduces
- 3:25stress and allows confident action even under uncertainty.
- 3:31Yeah.
- 3:32Even under uncertainty.
- 3:33I think that's a, I think that's a
- 3:34very important thing.
- 3:37Um, so that, that's really important.
- 3:40Uh, number four, avoid forbidden distractions that derail
- 3:45momentum and guard your attention like it's the
- 3:49most valuable resource that you have.
- 3:50That's really important to understand.
- 3:54Um, I think that's a, an important thing.
- 4:00Um, does that make sense to you?
- 4:09Hopefully it does.
- 4:10Uh, and hopefully this can get you to
- 4:20be on a different path and the path
- 4:25can get you to go something like this.
- 4:27It can get you to go from zero
- 4:28to becoming a hero, like not overnight, but
- 4:31pretty quickly.
- 4:32Number five guys, concentration multiplies the impact of
- 4:36effort.
- 4:37Small bursts of focused work often outperform hours
- 4:40of scattered activity.
- 4:42I think that's something that a lot of
- 4:43people miss in life.
- 4:44They miss the fact that that happens.
- 4:48Um, you know, that, that's an important thing
- 4:50to definitely understand, um, when we think about
- 4:54that.
- 4:55Number six, prioritizing key actions builds unstoppable momentum.
- 4:59Identity is important, but identifying the high level
- 5:03tasks and learning how to tackle them first
- 5:06before we get wrapped up to anything else,
- 5:08because I think sometimes what happens is we
- 5:10get stuck with this, um, I'll call it
- 5:13the lemon and we don't know how to
- 5:15traverse because it's like the lemon showed up
- 5:19out of nowhere.
- 5:19Okay.
- 5:20Okay.
- 5:21Um, that's, that's really important.
- 5:24Number seven guys, clear objectives, guide, smarter daily
- 5:27choices, and prevent wasted energy on non-essential
- 5:32activities.
- 5:35Yeah.
- 5:38Non-essential activities.
- 5:41That's important guys.
- 5:43Not because I'm saying it, but because if
- 5:46you can recognize that in your life, you
- 5:47can understand that there are big, big changes.
- 5:51But again, these things never happen overnight.
- 5:53They take time.
- 5:55And once we know they take time, we
- 5:58can appreciate when they show up, how we're
- 6:00going to behave.
- 6:02And that's an important thing that a lot
- 6:04of people, I think oftentimes miss.
- 6:07Moving on to number eight guys, avoid overcommitment
- 6:10to protect focus and energy.
- 6:12Saying no is a strategic advantage, but I
- 6:15think that's a, I think that's an important
- 6:17thing to, to recognize, um, you know, how
- 6:22that's going to move forward.
- 6:24Number nine, being as spot on as a
- 6:30laser, in other words, laser focus, and this
- 6:32will produce exponential progress over time.
- 6:37Sustained attention creates breakthroughs.
- 6:41Prioritization prevents energy leaking into non-essential tasks,
- 6:46keeping your effort aligned with your outcomes.
- 6:50I think sometimes it's hard to stay on
- 6:52track with our outcomes because so much is
- 6:54going on.
- 6:55Uh, and so we have to keep our
- 6:58eye, a lot of times people, you might've
- 6:59heard this before, we have to keep our
- 7:00eye on the price.
- 7:02I mean, that's an important thing, but it's
- 7:04important to understand that.
- 7:05Um, I think that that's very, uh, important
- 7:14thing.
- 7:15And, um, it's just that we need to
- 7:18know this, right?
- 7:26I think that's important to understand, right?
- 7:40I think if we can understand the alignment,
- 7:44how outcomes work, um, it can make a
- 7:47difference.
- 7:48Clarity reduces uncertainty in complex situations.
- 7:52Clear thinking allows decisive moves.
- 7:55Okay.
- 7:56Not one, two, three, but it does allow
- 7:58that.
- 7:58And that's an important thing.
- 8:12And discipline is hard for a lot of
- 8:14people to really understand.
- 8:19All right.
- 8:20It's hard.
- 8:22And the reason I say it's hard is
- 8:24because, well, we don't seem to get why
- 8:29we're doing something or, you know, what we're
- 8:32after.
- 8:33I think that's a, I think that's an
- 8:35important thing that a lot of people just
- 8:38don't get.
- 8:39I think the reason they don't get it
- 8:41is because, well, they're on another track.
- 8:47They're thinking about one thing, but then they're
- 8:49missing the whole umbrella.
- 8:52Okay.
- 8:58Right.
- 8:59That's an important thing to, to understand.
- 9:02Okay.
- 9:06And if we can understand that, then maybe
- 9:10we could understand like why things are working
- 9:12a certain way, or maybe why they're not
- 9:15working a certain way.
- 9:16And I think the reason why they're not
- 9:17working a certain way is because your perception
- 9:19about that, about something and the perception might
- 9:25be wrong.
- 9:30Perception might be wrong.
- 9:51Does that make sense?
- 10:01And then you can kind of get a
- 10:03perspective of that.
- 10:07Okay.
- 10:19Does that make sense to everybody?
- 10:30Or does that get confusing?
- 10:42Does that clear to everybody?
- 10:52Does that make sense to you?
- 11:09Or does that confuse everyone?
- 11:16I don't know.
- 11:17That's a question that I'm asking you because
- 11:19I think sometimes, you know, we get really
- 11:22trapped in these situations and we don't necessarily
- 11:24know like what to say or why to
- 11:26say, but we know they pop up.
- 11:28Number 12, guys, focused routine, strengthened habits, and
- 11:32self-discipline, creating reliability and consistent progress.
- 11:38Number 13, avoid forbidden shortcuts that compromise long
- 11:42-term success.
- 11:44Integrate effort yields lasting results.
- 11:48I know you might be saying to me,
- 11:50John, like that's really hard.
- 11:53Okay.
- 11:54It's hard.
- 11:56I'd say it was going to be easy,
- 11:57but I want to tell you that it's
- 12:00doable.
- 12:10And by doable, I mean that you believe
- 12:12in yourself because I think sometimes we don't
- 12:14believe in ourselves.
- 12:15And that causes us to get stuck.
- 12:20And then we wonder why we're stuck in
- 12:23quicksand or why we can't get out, but
- 12:26we just keep sinking more.
- 12:28Number 14, guys, attention management is the modern
- 12:32superpower, the ability to concentrate beats multitasking.
- 12:38Yeah, we can concentrate on one thing.
- 12:39I mean, so many companies, they want you
- 12:40to do a million things.
- 12:41You know, the truth of the matter is
- 12:42when you're doing all these other things, you're
- 12:44not focused on one thing.
- 12:45You're not doing that one thing really, really
- 12:47well, unfortunately.
- 12:53And it happens.
- 12:55And then people like, oh, I can't do
- 12:56that.
- 12:56And then they just put themselves down.
- 12:58Number 15, prioritize results over mere busyness because
- 13:02everybody likes to be busy.
- 13:04Working smart outweighs working hard without direction.
- 13:09And that's another one I think most people
- 13:11miss in life.
- 13:11They miss the fact that we are in
- 13:14a direct paradigm, okay?
- 13:19They miss that.
- 13:23That's a very important thing to understand.
- 13:29It's important to understand like, you know, what
- 13:31that whole thing means.
- 13:36And I want to tell you that you
- 13:41can't just do what you want anytime.
- 13:48You can't.
- 13:50If you don't have value for something, guys,
- 13:53you're going to have a problem.
- 13:59You're going to have a problem.
- 14:12I think that's a hard thing for a
- 14:14lot of people to grasp.
- 14:20It's probably the best way to say that,
- 14:22okay?
- 14:24So number 16, clarity allows confident action in
- 14:27uncertainty.
- 14:28Knowing your priorities reduce the hesitation for which
- 14:33you have elicited.
- 14:37That's another one that kind of trips people
- 14:39up sometime, right?
- 14:40How or why does it happen, right?
- 14:49That's important, very important to understand.
- 15:10I think sometimes we realize what we want,
- 15:15but then the pathway there has a trap
- 15:19or has a fire, and then because we
- 15:21don't think there's another way out, okay, we
- 15:27stop.
- 15:29Number 17, focus on one task at a
- 15:32time.
- 15:32For maximum impact, multitasking fragments energy and reduces
- 15:37results.
- 15:38That's important, guys.
- 15:40We have to realize to work on one
- 15:44task at a time.
- 15:45I know we have other tasks, but focus
- 15:46on one thing at a time.
- 15:56Does that make sense?
- 15:57I hope it does.
- 16:12It can make sense for you if you
- 16:16read between the lines.
- 16:20Number 18, avoid mental clutter that clouds judgment.
- 16:28Declutter your mind to sharpen decision-making.
- 16:34It's another great one to follow, isn't it?
- 16:42Focusing on one task at a time and
- 16:44understanding what clutter means, because I think a
- 16:46lot of people get clutter in their life,
- 16:48but they don't necessarily know, like, how to
- 16:51get rid of it or even know, like,
- 16:53what they're supposed to be doing.
- 16:55They just get all confused.
- 17:01Number 18, guys, avoid mental clutter because when
- 17:05you avoid it, your brain has the resources
- 17:12and it gets the clarity to work on
- 17:14what it already has, so your mind will
- 17:17get sharper.
- 17:20I think a lot of people don't realize
- 17:21what sharpness means, but it's important to understand
- 17:25that it becomes paramount in our success.
- 17:29You know, one person told me a while
- 17:30ago, John, you know, it's not about a
- 17:32transaction, and many years ago, I would have
- 17:34disagreed, but now that I've been in business
- 17:37for many years and I've agreed with this
- 17:39for several years, that it's not about the
- 17:42transaction.
- 17:43First year or two I was in business,
- 17:45in business now over 34, 35 years, I
- 17:47would have said, you know, it's all about
- 17:48the money, but now it's about the client.
- 17:51It's about the relationship.
- 17:53See, that's the most important thing.
- 17:56Number 19, guys, prioritization aligns actions with long
- 18:00-term goals.
- 18:02Every choice should move you closer to your
- 18:05vision.
- 18:06Every choice.
- 18:08Number 20, clarity reduces emotional friction and hesitation.
- 18:14Clear intent calms internal conflict.
- 18:19I think sometimes when they get conflict, people
- 18:21are like, oh, I don't know what to
- 18:22do.
- 18:23They freeze.
- 18:26Number 21, focused action prevents wasted time and
- 18:32effort.
- 18:33Deliberate steps accelerate outcomes.
- 18:36Deliberate steps, so that that's a step that
- 18:38you intentionally want to take.
- 18:41That's important, guys.
- 18:44Very, very important to understand.
- 18:48So important that many people don't get it.
- 18:58And I think sometimes that means us having
- 19:02to be, let's say, a person that understands
- 19:11our worth.
- 19:12Because if we don't know our worth, how
- 19:14can we charge more for it?
- 19:17Oh, you know, I don't want to charge
- 19:18that person.
- 19:19I was like that many years ago.
- 19:21This is my, this is what I charge.
- 19:23This is my value.
- 19:24It's what I charge for.
- 19:28Giving keynote speeches now in 30 minutes, and
- 19:31they're not $200.
- 19:35I'm going to be a published author in
- 19:37just a couple months, if you're listening to
- 19:40this live.
- 19:41Otherwise, if you're listening to this after April
- 19:43or May, I will have been a published
- 19:45author for my first motivational book.
- 19:47And there's going to be many more.
- 19:48And there's going to be a tech book
- 19:49and other stuff.
- 19:50Number 22, guys, avoid forbidden distractions that hijack
- 19:53attention.
- 19:54Recognize what steals your energy, okay, and eliminate
- 19:58it immediately.
- 19:59Not tomorrow, okay, not the next day.
- 20:10That's important, very important, guys.
- 20:13Number 23, prioritization compounds effectiveness daily.
- 20:20Repeat intentional choices, create exponential growth.
- 20:26These are powerful things, guys, very powerful things.
- 20:35Clarity sharpens intuition.
- 20:36Number 24, for a complex set of choices.
- 20:40A clear mind interprets subtle signals faster than
- 20:46a cluttered mind.
- 20:49A distracted, a multitasked mind.
- 20:52I'm not saying you can never multitask, but
- 20:53what I'm saying is when you're working on
- 20:54something that's very important, it is key that
- 20:57you pay attention.
- 20:58Like when I'm working on my book, I
- 20:59don't work on anything else but my book
- 21:03during that couple hours that I'm writing.
- 21:06Number 25, focus prevents regret from the missed
- 21:12opportunities that you could be getting.
- 21:14Attentive presence catches critical moments.
- 21:19And these are things that you don't get
- 21:21from a book.
- 21:22They're not things you get from going to
- 21:23school.
- 21:24These are things you get from living life.
- 21:27Number 26, guys, align priorities with values to
- 21:31stay on track.
- 21:32Clarity comes when actions reflect the core principles
- 21:36for which we have.
- 21:39And our core principles might change from day
- 21:42to day, and that's perfectly okay because we
- 21:47change as people.
- 21:48I'm not the same person I was when
- 21:50I was two or three or seven or
- 21:52eight or 10 or 12.
- 21:54I'm a totally different person.
- 21:56Number 27, guys, clarity ensures consistency in results.
- 22:02Knowing what matters prevents erratic behavior.
- 22:05When we know what matters to us and
- 22:08what matters to others, we won't get this
- 22:10barometer up, down, up, down, up, down.
- 22:13We won't get this seismograph of reactions.
- 22:19We'll get a constant line.
- 22:24Predictability is a very important key to success.
- 22:28I learned a skill not too long ago
- 22:32that sometimes people say you gotta do 100
- 22:35things, but it's not the 100 things you
- 22:36do.
- 22:37It's the one or two things you do.
- 22:40This could be in making phone calls or
- 22:42reaching out to people.
- 22:43You don't send 100 emails.
- 22:46You don't make 100 contacts on your platform.
- 22:49You make one or two a day, but
- 22:52you keep doing that day in and day
- 22:54out so it becomes part of you.
- 22:57It becomes what I like to say is
- 22:59easy as brushing your teeth.
- 23:01Now, brushing your teeth is pretty easy, even
- 23:02though I floss my teeth before I brush
- 23:04my teeth.
- 23:05It's an easy habit, and yet you don't
- 23:09get all emotional about doing it because you're
- 23:11like, oh, I didn't get the results.
- 23:12Just do it.
- 23:14Do it anyway.
- 23:16I remember that from a couple mentors many
- 23:18years ago that it may not yield the
- 23:22results, do it anyway.
- 23:24And you might say, John, well, that makes
- 23:25no sense.
- 23:26It does, because if you're doing something that
- 23:29has a proven track record and you haven't
- 23:31seen the results yet, but it's been proven
- 23:33in many places, keep doing it.
- 23:35It will yield you results.
- 23:38Number 28, guys, avoid energy draining shortcuts.
- 23:43Sustainable progress requires smart pacing and patience.
- 23:47It doesn't require you to get an attitude.
- 23:50Nope, it does not.
- 23:52Number 29, focused effort multiplies outcome beyond effort
- 23:56alone.
- 23:57Depth often beats breath in achievement.
- 24:03That's pretty wild.
- 24:05In achievement.
- 24:13That's important.
- 24:22I think when we can have an understanding
- 24:25for that, we can move quite a ways,
- 24:30quite a ways.
- 24:32But it's our ego or our alter ego
- 24:35that sometimes sabotages the success that's about to
- 24:40be delivered to us by the universe.
- 24:44Number 30, guys, prioritization and clarity create unstoppable
- 24:47progress of momentum.
- 24:50Intentional living compounds over time to reach and
- 24:55allow us to attain peak performance.
- 24:59Does peak performance mean you're the best ever?
- 25:02No, it means that you are optimized for
- 25:07the best results you can get right now.
- 25:10Maybe what you were doing a couple of
- 25:12days ago was the best you could get
- 25:13back then.
- 25:15Maybe in a week from now, the results
- 25:18you're getting is better because you've tweaked.
- 25:21It's what you're getting right now.
- 25:24I think a lot of people out there
- 25:26when they're watching, listening, saying to me, hey,
- 25:28John, progress is great, okay?
- 25:32And I just wanna move the needle.
- 25:35And I used to be one of those
- 25:36guys many years ago.
- 25:37I wanna move the needle.
- 25:38But now I've learned that it's not about
- 25:40moving the needle right away.
- 25:42It's about establishing the behavior that if you
- 25:46keep doing, we'll move the needle.
- 25:49But you can't ask yourself, gee, when's the
- 25:51needle gonna move?
- 25:51When's the needle gonna move?
- 25:52Doesn't matter.
- 25:53Keep doing the habit, the successful habit.
- 25:57I promise you the needle will move.
- 26:00In fact, it won't just move, probably jump.
- 26:03And that's gonna be something pretty powerful.
- 26:06So when we think about intentional living, when
- 26:08we think about progress, when we think about
- 26:11these real important things in life, I think
- 26:15these are the keys that make a difference
- 26:18for us, okay?
- 26:21They are the keys for us to make
- 26:24this amazing, amazing difference, a difference that maybe
- 26:28we didn't even think was possible.
- 26:32That's pretty powerful, guys, very powerful.
- 26:38Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know if you
- 26:39know, I'm John C.
- 26:40Morley, a serial entrepreneur.
- 26:42It is always such a privilege.
- 26:44It is such a pleasure and it's such
- 26:46an honor to be with you.
- 26:49Every time you watch me live or you
- 26:51see me in person or you watch a
- 26:55recording that I've made, you read an article
- 26:57that I've written or maybe watch a reel
- 27:01that I've done, you're able to see that
- 27:08the pieces of the puzzle don't all come
- 27:11together at once, but they do eventually come
- 27:14together.
- 27:15I hope that tonight's show has inspired you
- 27:20to start realizing the truth about your own
- 27:24path and with tonight's special topic about focus
- 27:31and prioritization.
- 27:32And so many big companies say, you know
- 27:33what?
- 27:34We're gonna focus, but you know what they
- 27:35really don't do?
- 27:36They don't focus right.
- 27:38No, they just create a disaster.
- 27:41And that's a big problem for a lot
- 27:43of people.
- 27:45They create, what do we call it, guys?
- 27:47Drama, yeah, you caught that, right?
- 27:51Drama, right?
- 27:53Kind of exaggerating that word.
- 27:55Some people live for drama.
- 27:57Guys, I hope you have a fantastic evening.
