SPEAKER_02: Hi, and welcome to today's episode of Stas and Tips.
• 0:14
SPEAKER_02: Today we are chatting with Melissa for our special fan favorite episode.
• 0:21
  SPEAKER_02: And we made it.
• 0:21
SPEAKER_02: We're gonna talk about the whole series.
• 0:24
SPEAKER_02: So no more spoiler alerts.
• 0:26
SPEAKER_09: Yay! And this is where like the balloons fall down from the ceilings and cafe colors.
• 0:33
  SPEAKER_09: We're popping bottles.
• 0:34
SPEAKER_02: We forgot to get balloons.
• 0:36
SPEAKER_02: We forgot to get bottles.
• 0:37
SPEAKER_02: We forgot to get balloons.
• 0:40
  SPEAKER_09: We suck.
• 0:41
SPEAKER_09: You know, that's what filters are for.
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_02: I'm Lisa, and today I'm just sipping on some water because I'm boring.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_02: Also because my stomach has not been so great today.
• 0:55
  SPEAKER_02: So spoiler alert.
• 0:56
  SPEAKER_02: I can't drink.
• 0:58
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_02: I I had a very busy weekend this weekend and I drank a good amount.
• 1:04
SPEAKER_02: So I think I need to cool it today.
• 1:06
  SPEAKER_06: Pre-game for New Year's?
• 1:09
  SPEAKER_02: Something like that.
• 1:10
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:11
  SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_02: But I do still have leftover coffee.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_02: So maybe I could drink that.
• 1:18
  SPEAKER_01: Ooh, wild and crazy.
• 1:19
SPEAKER_02: Never made it off of my desk this morning.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_09: You know, if you're having issues, caffeine may not be the right.
• 1:25
  SPEAKER_09: That's probably why I didn't finish it.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_09: But whatever.
• 1:30
SPEAKER_09: I'm your co-host Agnes, and I had a day and a half at work.
• 1:36
  SPEAKER_09: So I'm drinking it's a peach white wine.
• 1:39
SPEAKER_09: I feel like it was peach and something.
• 1:41
  SPEAKER_09: I don't remember.
• 1:41
SPEAKER_09: It wasn't my frozen mango pieces.
• 1:44
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:44
SPEAKER_02: I forgot what you said it was.
• 1:46
  SPEAKER_09: I don't remember.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_09: But you know, peach rose or something.
• 1:49
SPEAKER_09: No, the other one was strawberry rose.
• 1:52
  SPEAKER_09: Oh.
• 1:52
SPEAKER_09: And this was the something peach.
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
• 1:55
SPEAKER_09: But every mangoes goes in everything.
• 1:57
  SPEAKER_09: So it works.
• 1:58
  SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
• 1:58
  SPEAKER_00: Ming mangoes are delicious.
• 2:01
SPEAKER_00: And I love I love that you freeze the fruit and then put it in your wine.
• 2:04
  SPEAKER_00: That's really smart.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_09: Because it keeps it nice and cold without brushing it down.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and then plus then you can eat the fruit afterwards.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and get a little buzz.
• 2:12
  SPEAKER_00: Woohoo.
• 2:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
• 2:13
  SPEAKER_00: Crazy fruit.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm Melissa and I'm actually saving my liver for New Year's.
• 2:22
  SPEAKER_00: No, I'm joking.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_00: I'm maybe gonna have a glass of champagne.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_00: But I have a uh poppy cherry limeade.
• 2:27
  SPEAKER_00: So it's a prebiotic soda.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_00: So you might want to try that for your um, because I have one maybe every three days or so.
• 2:37
SPEAKER_00: Um, and yeah, my tummy feels a lot better with it.
• 2:40
SPEAKER_00: So you might want to try that.
• 2:41
SPEAKER_02: Usually I have like more or less an iron stomach.
• 2:46
SPEAKER_02: But I think I overdid it yesterday with like the junk food.
• 2:49
  SPEAKER_05: Oh god.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_02: I don't know how many kinds of chips I ate yesterday, up and until I was falling asleep.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_02: So that might have You are not a teenager anymore, Lisa.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_09: I'm not.
• 3:00
  SPEAKER_09: You just look it.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_02: I was like looking for soup and grilled cheese until like midnight when my husband was like, go to bed.
• 3:10
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's over.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_00: He's like, the day is done.
• 3:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, wait, but I found tortilla chips.
• 3:19
  SPEAKER_02: A fucking raccoon.
• 3:21
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_02: That that's I have the eating habits of a raccoon.
• 3:26
  SPEAKER_02: Because it's like whatever I find I eat.
• 3:30
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_02: I'm more like this is up to me.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_00: I'm more like a frat or like a college student level, because I'll like make little pizzas on English muffins.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_00: And I just I just tend to only eat like appetizers.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_00: Like I love samosas, I love egg rolls, I love empanadas, but it's like that's all if I'm just an appetizer or a salad or ice cream, and that's really yeah.
• 3:56
  SPEAKER_02: She's like Lisa.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so somehow I have a stomachache and I'm hungry now.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_02: I'm so sorry.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_02: I'm so evil.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_09: Lisa with salads is not even funny.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_09: Like it's so it's it's beyond comical with Lisa and her salads.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_09: You can make, I don't know, a catering style box of salad.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_09: She's in it like Flynn.
• 4:17
  SPEAKER_09: She's like, give me.
• 4:17
  SPEAKER_09: We're like, okay.
• 4:20
SPEAKER_02: That's my favorite bedtime snack.
• 4:22
  SPEAKER_09: Oh my gosh.
• 4:23
  SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_02: She eats a head of lettuce like an apple.
• 4:25
  SPEAKER_09: No, I'm just joking.
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
• 4:26
  SPEAKER_02: Oh wow, yeah.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_02: Not like an apple, but I do eat, but one head of romaine lettuce is a serving size.
• 4:34
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
• 4:35
SPEAKER_02: At least for me it is.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I was like, more power to you.
• 4:40
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 4:40
SPEAKER_00: So she's angry, just throw lettuce at her.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, I know, yeah.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_00: I was like, I also I also need a bowl of Cheerios.
• 4:47
SPEAKER_00: Like, I get a bowl of Cheerios and my salad because um, like I worked pretty, yeah, I worked pretty hard on the salon on Sundays.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_00: So last night when I came home, we had big salad night.
• 4:57
SPEAKER_00: That's what my husband and I call it.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_00: And it is, it's just salad, and then I usually get a little bowl of Cheerios for my dessert.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_00: Although honestly, I did bring home cupcakes yesterday.
• 5:06
SPEAKER_00: So um, but I was like, life in moderation, you know, 2024 is almost over.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_00: Let me get my cupcake while I can.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, moderation has been a bit disappointing.
• 5:18
  SPEAKER_00: Eat the cupcakes.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, I know exactly.
• 5:21
  SPEAKER_00: I was like, exactly.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_00: They were on sale.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on, and they had sprinkles.
• 5:26
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm only human.
• 5:27
  SPEAKER_00: Eat the cupcake.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can't say no to that.
• 5:29
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm only human.
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 5:31
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 5:32
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_02: So this has been a journey.
• 5:35
SPEAKER_02: And I have a question for Melissa.
• 5:38
  SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_02: Since you listened to the last episode, did Agnes did her reaction to the end fit what you would have guessed?
• 5:56
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, like, because I had I'd only started listening to you guys maybe about six and nine months ago, and then I binged everything.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, I I really binged everything.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_00: Once I found out that you guys existed, I listened to every single all the way back from season one.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_02: And we didn't even have to pay her that much to tell to say that.
• 6:17
  SPEAKER_02: No, that's a deal.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_02: It was a really deal.
• 6:20
SPEAKER_00: No, I just love, and honestly, when I was listening to the final episode of Lost today, I was like, you know, I love I'm a huge fan of Lost.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_00: I'm a big nerd, and that's what got me in.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_00: But now that I've listened to so to you ladies, I'm like, you ladies could really do anything.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: And I just love hearing your interactions.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_00: That's really the highlight for me personally, as a fan of y'all's podcast, is like they couldn't do it.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_00: Like you can bring people on, you know what I'm saying?
• 6:45
SPEAKER_00: But really the the spices you two together.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_00: And it's that it's that, oh Agnes, but it's it really is like you guys have a shorthand because you've known each other for like 40 years.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_00: You know, you were like born, yeah, you're born together practically.
• 7:01
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, pretty bad.
• 7:02
SPEAKER_00: So and it really shows through and just seeing your you guys' personalities, it's really it's really cool, and you guys are really cool.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_00: And even when I was listening to it, I was like, wow, they're really interesting and just they're uh so open, um, yeah, but mindful about keeping their own privacy, and I respect that.
• 7:21
SPEAKER_00: And you know, it's just very, it's very interesting.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_00: And I would listen to whatever you guys have next.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh, but yeah, I really I I I listened all the way back from the beginning, and I will say that the background, the tech, the production is a million times better.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_00: You guys really feel it.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, sometimes you'll sometimes you'll do something and you might never get better at it.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
• 7:47
SPEAKER_00: Like you might practice at something, but not really have the passion and the desire to really get better, so you don't.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_00: So there are some podcasts out there that they're just like, see, and hey, that's kind of cool, you're doing it in your car, like whatever.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_00: But you guys really have the value.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_02: I mean, we got lucky that there was a pandemic, and all of a sudden we knew what Zoom was because we had no idea before it.
• 8:10
  unknown: Yeah.
• 8:11
SPEAKER_02: Shortly after we started, it was like, oh, Zoom, what's this?
• 8:14
SPEAKER_02: Because we tried on the phone, we tried Skype Skype.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then it was like Zoom came into the equation.
• 8:25
SPEAKER_10: It wasn't just work only, Zoom made it possible.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_02: They were allowing people to do the conferences without uh the limits, which helped us enormously.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 8:38
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we we were we were very aware that those first episodes sucked balls.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, but no, it's it what kept me coming.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean, again, love the show Lost, and honestly, I kind of liked that Agnes hated it.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_00: Um, it was because I've I've had the pleasure of doing a podcast with you ladies before, and I had mentioned, I don't know if it was on tape or before, but I kind of liked that Agnes was um the devil's advocate and that Lisa was like, oh my gosh, yay! But you weren't also like a super nerd like me, where I'm like, oh my gosh, this these three tones mean this and blah blah blah blah blah.
• 9:16
SPEAKER_00: Where like off camera, she totally was.
• 9:18
SPEAKER_09: She was a crazy red string chick.
• 9:22
SPEAKER_09: Like she I was like, Lisa, I quit.
• 9:25
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's so hard because there were many things that I wanted to say, yeah, but I can't make something important that she doesn't think is important without maybe giving something else away.
• 9:40
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_00: Without letting her in on the C T.
• 9:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 9:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 9:57
SPEAKER_00: But I don't, it was just really interesting to see it through Agnes's eyes because it was like watching it myself for the first time.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_00: For me too.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_00: For me too, it was it was really cool to see what you picked up on and also um just like the 2024 vibes of it versus back in the day, and how uh certain things would be different and certain things would not be done, and also how I remember thinking watching it when I was 20 years old, that I was like, oh shit, like there are subtitles on my television.
• 10:28
SPEAKER_00: Like I had never seen something like that before.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_00: So um just the show was revolutionary, and I think you guys, what you guys did and how you guys persevered and really made this really cool.
• 10:39
  SPEAKER_00: I think I think it's really cool.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_00: So I I think it's kind of and even how you guys paused for a while and then came back and did the last three seasons, almost like the show where it had the writer strike, and then they kind of had to figure out they kind of had to figure out what the show was for the final three seasons.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_00: I was like, it's I was like, it's kind of like life imitating art.
• 11:00
  SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, yeah.
• 11:01
SPEAKER_09: I did do a strike, kind of.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_09: Now that you mention it, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, she you know, she had had heavy real life shit going on.
• 11:08
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 11:09
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_02: So as much as I wanted to be like, no, bitch, you can't quit on me.
• 11:13
  SPEAKER_09: I mean Yeah, yeah.
• 11:14
SPEAKER_02: Well what are you gonna do?
• 11:15
SPEAKER_09: Come to Wisconsin and make me record.
• 11:18
  SPEAKER_02: Don't fucking threaten me.
• 11:20
SPEAKER_02: But but the only reason I didn't is because you know, it was like your mom.
• 11:24
SPEAKER_02: So, you know, it couldn't.
• 11:26
  SPEAKER_02: Real life stuff.
• 11:27
SPEAKER_02: Now, had it been your brother, I would have been like, no, fuck him.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_10: I mean, if it was my brother, would I really stop recording?
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_10: Well, that's true.
• 11:34
  SPEAKER_10: That's true.
• 11:35
SPEAKER_10: I'll go over there and fight your brother.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_10: He may like that, Lisa.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I'll kick his ass.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_02: Lisa, I think were you surprised?
• 11:49
SPEAKER_02: I've also known her brother since elementary school, so you know.
• 11:51
SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, no, no, no, yeah, you yeah.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_09: Okay, so were you surprised?
• 11:55
SPEAKER_09: Were either one of you surprised?
• 11:57
SPEAKER_02: I I was actually a little bit surprised by your reaction.
• 12:01
SPEAKER_00: I well, because it's it's more common that people hate the ending.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_00: And you were, and you came away kind of like how I came away, where you're like, you know what, they didn't answer everything, but that was good enough.
• 12:14
SPEAKER_00: It was a feel good, that was good enough for me.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_00: And also it was like, my god, what else could they do?
• 12:19
SPEAKER_00: Like in retrospect, like I'm glad that it didn't go on for 88, it's not a Gray's anatomy or whatever.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_00: You know, that it was once they figured out the idea, which like was for season four, five, and six, I think that's when they actually knew where they were going.
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 12:34
SPEAKER_00: Because I think the first three seasons were building these characters and having you fall in love with them.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the last three seasons were like, okay, we know where we're ending.
• 12:42
SPEAKER_00: That's that's land that's plane, literally on figure three.
• 12:44
SPEAKER_09: Three seasons to figure that out.
• 12:46
SPEAKER_09: I really think they were completely on every drug imaginable, and they just like this was right that okay, that's a plan.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, it could have been.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_00: I I've listened to different um writers of TV shows, because I'm a writer and I like to listen to writers talk about writing, but the guy that did breaking bad, he said that he'd often put his characters in a corner, having no idea how to get them out, but then he would synthesize it.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_00: And I think maybe back in the early 2000s, they were like they didn't have that much to land on, you know what I'm saying?
• 13:19
SPEAKER_00: There wasn't really like I think Shannon could have been a much more interesting character.
• 13:23
  SPEAKER_00: I agree.
• 13:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like and then that's why I loved your thoughts on Shannon, Agnes, because she could have been, you know, a badass jungle bitch.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_00: But I'm so glad you're here because I don't but uh yeah, you were.
• 13:39
  SPEAKER_00: I'm a big proponent for Shannon.
• 13:40
  SPEAKER_00: I really like Shannon.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_00: Um, I felt that you had that same vibe too, and you were kind of like, they just wasted her.
• 13:46
SPEAKER_00: Like, what the fuck is this?
• 13:47
SPEAKER_00: So I think if it had been more in the modern day, I think they would have kept her longer, and also because she was beautiful at the very least.
• 13:55
SPEAKER_00: In 2024, they'd have been like, look at this hot woman.
• 13:57
SPEAKER_09: Let's have her stand around and be hot.
• 14:00
  SPEAKER_09: Seriously, gorgeous.
• 14:01
SPEAKER_09: A hot babe with totally badass attributes.
• 14:05
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 14:06
SPEAKER_09: And it's like, and Kate started off with the badass kind of, and then she just went plop.
• 14:10
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, girl, you're a wet noodle now.
• 14:12
SPEAKER_02: That's that was for me.
• 14:14
SPEAKER_02: That was a big problem with the Kate character, is that it was very repetitive.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_02: And and the the short, the little cartoon short that we watched.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_09: Spot on.
• 14:26
  SPEAKER_02: It was spot on.
• 14:27
SPEAKER_02: It was like, Kate, you're just good at creating love triangles.
• 14:30
  SPEAKER_02: Like Yeah, yeah.
• 14:34
SPEAKER_02: But I so one of the things that you just said was that a lot of people when they watch the ending, but I wonder if Agnes I'm trying to think of how to word this.
• 14:52
SPEAKER_09: Um I feel like I'm always being pulled on the spot.
• 14:55
  SPEAKER_09: I'm in trouble.
• 14:56
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I know.
• 14:59
  SPEAKER_02: So m okay.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_02: Probably most people didn't get to the ending unless they enjoyed the show.
• 15:08
  SPEAKER_02: Correct.
• 15:08
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 15:09
SPEAKER_02: So if you didn't enjoy the show, you weren't gonna continue watching.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_02: I guess if you were watching this in real time, you would never have made it to the end.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_02: So your opinion of the end would be null and void.
• 15:21
SPEAKER_02: So we I feel like we only have opinions of the end from people who like the show and stuck with it.
• 15:29
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_02: So I think your opinion is really like a unicorn because you stuck with it despite not really liking it.
• 15:39
SPEAKER_02: Not like I had a choice in the matter.
• 15:42
SPEAKER_02: I mean, did I mean you you could have just absolutely said, like, no, no, I quit.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_02: Like, you don't pay me enough.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you still don't pay me enough.
• 15:51
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't pay me enough.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_09: But that you should have side note, I remember I was in my car heading to work, and I just pulled in and I'm like, Lisa, I'm ready to come back.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_09: And I kind of thought she was gonna jump through the phone out of happiness.
• 16:08
SPEAKER_09: I was like, Yeah, okay, you can feel the energy.
• 16:11
SPEAKER_01: You're like, oh my gosh, your state's away.
• 16:13
  SPEAKER_01: I can feel that.
• 16:14
  SPEAKER_01: I think I regret this.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, I regret saying this, but I did it because I just missed hanging out with Lisa.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_09: It wasn't about the show, I just missed Lisa.
• 16:21
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_00: And I mean that's that shows through.
• 16:24
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's obvious.
• 16:26
SPEAKER_00: It's just like uh, because when when I first met my husband, it was around season three of when the show was showing, and I didn't have cable or I did have basic cable, but I didn't have any way to record it.
• 16:40
  SPEAKER_00: I was very poor and I didn't own a computer.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_00: So I would tell my job that I had school on Wednesday nights, but really Lost was on.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_00: And when we first started dating, he was like, Oh, hey, I have Wednesday off.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Oh, well, but you can't go because you got school, right?
• 16:55
SPEAKER_00: Because he and I worked together, so we knew that this was and I had to tell him, I was like, Oh, I actually don't have school, I watched Lost.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_00: And he was like, You have got to be kidding me.
• 17:03
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, No, I'm for real.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_00: Like, I and it also worked out because usually when there was a hiat hiatus on the show, that's traditionally when uh colleges would be on hiatus, so to speak, on break, so I could have a summer break and you know work Wednesday nights.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_00: But uh he actually watched the first two seasons and caught up, like he uh rented it from Blockbuster, and uh just so that way we could watch it together on Wednesday nights, and that became like our thing.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_00: Because he's like, Well, I know you have Wednesday nights off, and so do I.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_00: So that's the fact that you did that, Agnes.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_00: We're like, oh, I'll watch the show, even though, like, as a listener, I was like, Man, this woman really is like she's like, these people are attractive, but I really and I I think it also hurt because to me, Said is a hottie, but I guess he reminds you of your ex.
• 17:50
SPEAKER_00: He's just like my daughter.
• 17:52
SPEAKER_00: A lot like him, yeah.
• 17:53
SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, then you have an excellent taste.
• 17:55
SPEAKER_00: So I'll just put it.
• 17:56
SPEAKER_00: I mean he was a cool looking guy, daddy.
• 17:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 18:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, visually excellent taste.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_00: So top tier taste there.
• 18:05
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so I could understand why maybe you were like, oh good lord.
• 18:09
SPEAKER_00: Um, it had a little bit of a a sour taste in your mouth just off the bat.
• 18:14
SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I mean, it's that kind of community with this show that it's this weird sci-fi show um that nerds talk about and have a whiteboard and all the red strings.
• 18:26
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it brings people together because I would have never met you ladies, and I think you guys are so cute.
• 18:30
SPEAKER_09: And the husband, I feel like lost brings people together.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_09: Lost finds people.
• 18:36
  SPEAKER_09: Yes, I yes.
• 18:37
  SPEAKER_09: I don't want to cry.
• 18:38
  SPEAKER_09: Like, where's my tissues?
• 18:40
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_02: And I didn't expect that at all.
• 18:44
  SPEAKER_02: Your feelings.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I who can like I expected it from me, and as a matter of fact, right, I'm gonna bring out the list.
• 18:53
SPEAKER_02: I'm going to bring out the list, okay?
• 18:55
  SPEAKER_02: Which list?
• 18:56
SPEAKER_02: And now the list that I keep.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_09: Hold on one second with your list.
• 19:00
SPEAKER_09: I need to ask you guys a question.
• 19:02
SPEAKER_09: Who could watch that last episode and everyone coming together and remembering, and it's just like this feeling of being found and finding and connecting and just like this is it, this is my person.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_09: Who can watch that and not cry?
• 19:18
SPEAKER_09: Like, who could just sit there and watch all this shit happen and just be like, all right.
• 19:21
  SPEAKER_09: Like with I am a cold-hearted ice princess.
• 19:26
SPEAKER_00: But that, I was just like, oh, that's so beautiful.
• 19:31
SPEAKER_02: So I have a note here that says season six, episode four.
• 19:36
SPEAKER_02: I I would tell you when you might need an out of in because some of the episodes are gonna be rough, and you said you have no feelings.
• 19:44
SPEAKER_02: I don't because the lie detector showed that was a lie.
• 19:48
  SPEAKER_09: Once one episode.
• 19:50
  SPEAKER_09: Melissa's my witness.
• 19:51
  SPEAKER_09: How many, how many?
• 19:52
SPEAKER_09: No, you might not have known this.
• 19:53
  SPEAKER_09: No, you wouldn't, it's off record.
• 19:55
SPEAKER_09: There have been numerous and sundry episodes.
• 19:57
SPEAKER_09: At least, like, this is a hard one.
• 19:59
SPEAKER_09: This is the hard one, you're gonna cry.
• 20:00
SPEAKER_09: And I'm just like, Yeah, no, I didn't feel it.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_09: She's like, How do you not cry?
• 20:03
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, Yeah, that wasn't it.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_09: So, one episode and six seasons, I actually cried.
• 20:35
SPEAKER_00: I think there were there were some times where you did feel emotion, but you didn't necessarily cry.
• 20:40
  SPEAKER_09: Like, it's emotional.
• 20:41
SPEAKER_09: I can't understand the emotion, but I'm like, not getting tears out of just the thing, right?
• 20:45
SPEAKER_09: Like Vincent was killed, I would have cried.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_09: That's a different, you know.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_09: Well, you would have probably left the show.
• 20:50
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I would have.
• 20:51
  SPEAKER_00: I would have.
• 20:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you would have been like, Lisa, you you would have hated Lisa.
• 20:56
  SPEAKER_01: I would have.
• 20:57
SPEAKER_09: I almost didn't watch a John Wick because of the opening scene.
• 21:01
  SPEAKER_09: I turned it off.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_09: I turned it off, and my friend's like, no, just push through.
• 21:05
SPEAKER_09: It's like you got through the hard part.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, no, it took it a week.
• 21:09
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, fine.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_09: And I'm like, oh, okay, it's fine.
• 21:12
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_09: I mean it is vengeance for the puppy.
• 21:15
  unknown: Right.
• 21:16
  SPEAKER_09: Oh hell yeah.
• 21:17
  SPEAKER_09: I yeah.
• 21:18
SPEAKER_09: Once I realized what happened, I'm like, oh no, fuck, nah uh-uh, I'm tapping out, done.
• 21:23
SPEAKER_02: So Melissa, when you watched the finale, like the first time that you watched it, you said that you felt like, okay, this is this is how it is, or were you disappointed?
• 21:37
  SPEAKER_02: Did you love it?
• 21:38
  SPEAKER_02: Did you hate it?
• 21:39
SPEAKER_02: How did you feel about it?
• 21:40
  SPEAKER_00: I I really loved it.
• 21:42
SPEAKER_00: I loved it because it, even from a storytelling perspective, it started with the characters and it ended with the characters.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_00: And I personally liked that they all met up.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_00: And I liked that the Flash Sideways was really just um them almost attempting to, you know, come face to face with their demons before they crossed over.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_00: Because I also, I mean, to be frank, even before I saw the show, I kind of always thought that that would be something, or like the show The Good Place, like that would be something where you have to kind of face Yeah, I know really good show, face all your demons before you can go on to whatever you know molecular structure you are next.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_00: Um so I did like that, and I loved bringing back all.
• 22:25
SPEAKER_00: The actors, like having Maggie Grace come back when she when Shannon came back, I was like, Oh my god.
• 22:30
SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh then just seeing Claire happy and Charlie happy, and and also getting that just little aside from Ben and Hurley, where Hurley was like, you know, two thumbs up, dude, like for not being an asshole at the end.
• 22:45
SPEAKER_00: So, and also Ben being present of mind enough that he's like, I have to really make right by my daughter and by my uh kidnap daughter's mother.
• 22:55
SPEAKER_00: You know, he's like, I really have to make right by these two women before I can move on.
• 23:00
SPEAKER_00: So um, I really thought, and when it was done, and I was bawling my eyes out the whole time, and I think my husband was maybe a little, but I was crying so much I didn't even know.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_00: But I did turn to him and I was like, Oh my gosh, baby, will you be in my church when it's all over?
• 23:14
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Yes, baby, I will.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_00: But he's an atheist, so he's probably like, Can it just be like a garden or like we meet in a meadow?
• 23:21
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so but but that that was another beautiful thing, right?
• 23:24
SPEAKER_02: Is that even the church scene in Lost, it was a church, but when you look at the the iconography, it's all from different religions, it's all different religions, yeah.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_00: So it's like and also if you think about it, yeah, like Saeed was a known Muslim man, you know.
• 23:44
SPEAKER_00: We only see him, I think, pray once throughout the entire series, but like he is Muslim and he claims to be Muslim.
• 23:49
SPEAKER_00: So even he was there passing on with the rest of them, and yeah, and definitely Claire seems a little you know titsy twirly, so I'm sure she has like some maybe Wiccan beliefs or something.
• 24:02
SPEAKER_00: But uh person's all about nature.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_02: She prays to Danny DeVita like I do.
• 24:06
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_02: I I I fuck with Agnes because I'm like, I don't know, like I was brought up, I mean, this is an aside, right?
• 24:17
SPEAKER_02: I was brought up Catholic.
• 24:20
SPEAKER_02: I don't necessarily have anything against religion, I just don't find myself being very religious the older I get.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_02: And I said, but I think it's funny that I still use terms like, oh God forbid, or thank God.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_02: I said, because really I could say like thank Danny DeVito and it would mean just as much.
• 24:41
  SPEAKER_02: She's like, I don't know why I'm friends with you sometimes.
• 24:43
  SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_09: I mean, and it's funny because I've actually the reverse.
• 24:49
SPEAKER_09: My mother was raised Catholic.
• 24:51
SPEAKER_09: She went to Catholic school from kindergarten all through high school.
• 24:54
SPEAKER_09: So when she had children, she's like, I'm not forcing religion on you.
• 24:58
SPEAKER_09: So we weren't traditionally raised as you know, Catholic, but I consider myself Catholic, if anyone asks.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_09: But it wasn't anything about religion.
• 25:07
  SPEAKER_09: I didn't care.
• 25:08
  SPEAKER_09: I acknowledged it.
• 25:09
  SPEAKER_09: Great.
• 25:09
SPEAKER_09: As I'm getting older, I find myself a little bit more focusing on my spiritual growth.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_09: Not so much about organized religion, but it's funny how you're just like, okay, Lisa's like Day DeVito.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, oh, okay, let me go get a menorah and a cross.
• 25:29
SPEAKER_09: And I want all the religions around me because they all, if anyone hates me, I'm sorry, but they all say the same thing.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_09: Be a good person, be a good person.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_02: That's that's all religions.
• 25:40
SPEAKER_09: All religions try to be better, grow as a person, and be good.
• 25:44
SPEAKER_09: I'm just gonna start my own.
• 25:46
  SPEAKER_09: Oh Lord.
• 25:49
  SPEAKER_00: I think wine.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_00: Let me put that's a lot of organization for me.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_00: That sounds like my worst nightmare.
• 25:55
SPEAKER_00: I would definitely be a follower of a cult, but I would not be the leader.
• 25:59
SPEAKER_02: See, nobody wants to be the leader.
• 26:01
SPEAKER_02: I could step into that role, I will have my own cult.
• 26:05
SPEAKER_02: Listen, yeah, we're not we're not jumping off cliffs, we're not drinking the Kool-Aid, we are going to be happy.
• 26:13
SPEAKER_02: We are going to have snacks and wine and TV.
• 26:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm I'm in.
• 26:22
  SPEAKER_09: I'm in.
• 26:23
  SPEAKER_09: I'm in.
• 26:24
SPEAKER_09: We have like also like a fantabilist library.
• 26:27
SPEAKER_09: Gun to like never mind.
• 26:28
  SPEAKER_09: Of course.
• 26:29
SPEAKER_02: And people can bring me gifts.
• 26:31
  SPEAKER_02: That's uh that's also required.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_02: You have to just bring me gifts in order to get membership.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_02: And but then for that, it's okay.
• 26:38
SPEAKER_00: I'm not a thoughtful gift giver, but I'm a practical gift giver.
• 26:42
SPEAKER_00: So you might get like slippers or a rope.
• 26:44
SPEAKER_02: Do you want me to send you my electric bill?
• 26:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 26:49
  SPEAKER_09: I like gifts.
• 26:50
  SPEAKER_09: I like gifts.
• 26:50
SPEAKER_09: Well, she gives you slippers and a robe, and you could turn off the heat in the window.
• 26:54
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 26:55
  SPEAKER_09: There you go.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_10: Very, very practical.
• 26:58
  SPEAKER_10: Two gifts in one.
• 27:00
  SPEAKER_10: Her membership is approved.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_02: Wait, was that me or her?
• 27:04
  unknown: I don't know.
• 27:05
SPEAKER_02: Well, I don't know about Agnes, but Melissa's bringing me slippers and a robe.
• 27:08
  SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_09: Like Melissa's down on my end, and you're on my level.
• 27:13
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 27:16
  SPEAKER_02: We look like assholes.
• 27:19
  SPEAKER_02: Because we are.
• 27:20
  SPEAKER_02: No.
• 27:22
SPEAKER_02: I I I'm curious if your if your thoughts on the end have changed in rewatches or over the years, or has it always just felt equally as good to you?
• 27:36
SPEAKER_00: For me personally, um, because I watched it live and in person, and I've watched it many, many times since.
• 27:43
SPEAKER_00: Um like I'd probably say I've watched every episode at least 10 times, to be frank.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_00: Um, because it is just one of those things we'll kind of turn on and have in the background.
• 27:52
SPEAKER_02: Um, this is not a show I can have on in the background because I can't not pay attention.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I have ADHD, so I kind of like to have long dramatic things.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_00: Because I'll do that with Stranger Things and other shows.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_00: I would just like to have everything on in the background.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_00: But for me personally, it almost holds at this point in my life where I'm 40 versus 20.
• 28:12
SPEAKER_00: Now it holds more of a sentimental attachment to my own personal life.
• 28:17
SPEAKER_00: Meaning, like when I first started watching the show, I was really in a very dark time in my life, and I was very depressed.
• 28:24
SPEAKER_00: And in a way, it it's not like it gave me hope and I didn't kill myself or whatever because of lost, but it was just like at least something to look forward to.
• 28:33
SPEAKER_00: And it was interesting and it had great storytelling, I thought.
• 28:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I still do really like the ending.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_00: I I think that you can tell that there's ebbs and flows in the storytelling, but overall I thought it was great.
• 28:48
SPEAKER_00: I liked it better than how they ended Game of Thrones, and I really was up until the very end, I was oh I was right there with Game of Thrones, and then I was like, maybe just an episode or two back, you know.
• 28:59
SPEAKER_00: But uh Lost, I think was a good full circle moment.
• 29:03
SPEAKER_00: And it also make reminds me of the full circle moment of my life, you know, because when I moved here to Houston when I was 20, I really had nothing.
• 29:11
SPEAKER_00: I had my car and like my clothes, and that was it.
• 29:14
SPEAKER_00: And you know, now I'm married.
• 29:16
SPEAKER_00: Now my husband and I are just just put down on a loan application to hopefully buy a house this summer.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_00: So um, you know, I've had this whole career as a hairdresser.
• 29:27
  SPEAKER_00: I've I'm gonna be publishing my 11th title in 2025.
• 29:32
  SPEAKER_00: And I'm a college graduate.
• 29:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's really like um, so for me personally, the show is interesting and everyone's really hot to look at, obviously.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I do like to think about different theories and like, you know, for instance, was Aaron a candidate and was that why he took Claire and yada, yada, yada.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_00: But uh I do like to think about things like that, but it also holds more to my own life when I see the circle of my own life.
• 29:58
SPEAKER_00: And I think any good story, you know, that has an impact on your life, or any good music can really have an impact on your life.
• 30:06
SPEAKER_00: You'll like you'll hear a certain song, I'm sure that's true of both of you, and you'll be like, oh my gosh, I remember this moment, or um, I remember this person.
• 30:14
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_00: So for me, lost is that it's a touchstone, so to speak.
• 30:18
SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's why I I love interacting with people that also like it or are maybe devil's advocates and but you're willing to talk about it.
• 30:29
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 30:30
SPEAKER_09: I will always talk about it.
• 30:32
SPEAKER_09: I always have an opinion.
• 30:33
SPEAKER_09: Uh whether you love it, I think I'm one that always has an opinion.
• 30:38
SPEAKER_02: For me, I feel like the ending has come to mean more the more I watch it because I feel like every time I re-watch it it like pulls the strings more.
• 30:59
SPEAKER_02: I don't know, like, and I don't know why, but but I feel like this time when I watched the end, specifically for the podcast, I I mean I like cried the whole episode.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_02: And I don't know if it was also symbolic because it was like and and not that the podcast was gonna end, but this part of the journey was coming to a close.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_02: Because so after Agnes had a step away, we had gotten to the end of season three, and I was like, fuck it.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna keep watching for myself because I felt like it it you know, it's like I don't want to leave the ball hanging.
• 31:43
SPEAKER_02: So I watched the rest of this, like I binged it in like probably two or three days.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_02: I watched the last three seasons because I just felt like okay, I just I don't know when she's coming back, if she's coming back, but I wanted to con continue.
• 32:00
SPEAKER_02: I don't remember having this many feels.
• 32:03
SPEAKER_02: And I don't know if it's also because when you're binging stuff like you know, like you you go on to the next so quickly so you don't have a chance to absorb, but I watched it twice for the recording because we I watched it and then we couldn't record and and then like it was like a week later we were gonna record.
• 32:26
SPEAKER_02: So I watched it again just to, you know, and both times it was like ugly cry.
• 32:35
SPEAKER_02: Like as soon as I hit like start, I was like okay, because you knew it was coming, you're like, I'm gonna start crying.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_02: And it's like as soon as you see their emotions, it's like okay, like and and some more than others, right?
• 32:56
SPEAKER_02: Like when Kate says thank you to Charlie, it's so stupid, and it's like with Sawyer and Juliet, it's like, oh yeah, Sawyer and Juliet.
• 33:08
  SPEAKER_09: That is the floor.
• 33:12
SPEAKER_09: I think actually kind of hard with all of them, but one of the, I think they were the ones I was just like, I yeah, and of course, Sun and Jen.
• 33:20
  SPEAKER_00: And yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_00: Although it was, it's so funny.
• 33:26
SPEAKER_00: I have watched it a thousand times, like I said, and I never ever thought about the fact that they left their child behind, and then you guys bring it up, and then even and then even at the end when she's like, No, no, save save yourself.
• 33:38
SPEAKER_00: She, you're right, she should have said for our daughter, but she doesn't, and that had never, ever, ever crossed my mind.
• 33:45
SPEAKER_00: But I don't have children, so I that might be it.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, and also Caitly being Aaron made sense to me because she had that premonition of Claire saying, Don't bring my son, and and also I'm under the impression from it's my head canon that Aaron is a candidate, and basically, in order to make it so he wasn't so he could have a normal life, they would uh force this pull away from him and the island, basically, and his mother, Claire, would be sacrificed there essentially, and that's why she went crazy.
• 34:13
SPEAKER_02: But also, I mean, just the fact that Kate's plan was to go back and get Claire, correct, to come, yeah, yeah.
• 34:22
SPEAKER_09: So that makes more sense, and then she left him with his grandmother, so it wasn't so correct.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_09: Like it was once they got to that episode, I was like, okay, that's not so bad.
• 34:31
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for me, even son saying I'm gonna go back and get my husband wasn't necessarily the bad part.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_09: To me, it was like, okay, well, now you're dying, and he doesn't have to, and you're not like, no, yeah, it's just like it was one bad one bad decision after.
• 34:52
SPEAKER_09: So you have Kate who left another woman's son with their grandmother.
• 34:56
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, okay, that makes sense.
• 34:58
  SPEAKER_09: I can appreciate that.
• 34:59
SPEAKER_09: You're bringing back his mother, correct?
• 35:02
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, okay, fine.
• 35:04
SPEAKER_09: But as a mother, Jen, I mean, son, side eyeing you, to leave your child on a mission that you might not come back from.
• 35:13
  SPEAKER_09: And then what?
• 35:14
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_09: This is the like this is the island you almost did not escape from to begin with.
• 35:20
SPEAKER_09: So you're gonna go back into Lion's Den and leave your child without parent and and guess what?
• 35:26
SPEAKER_09: She left without both parents.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_09: So I was like, you that was the that was a fail.
• 35:31
SPEAKER_09: For me personally, that was a fail, especially knowing the man that your father was.
• 35:36
SPEAKER_09: Just and then granted, you left it with your mother, but still, that man is in yeah, it's gonna be in your child's life, right?
• 35:44
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, I'll be damned.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_09: That would have been the end of my role in the series.
• 35:49
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, yep, not doing that.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I still that still bothers me to no end, though.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_09: But I forgave them on that last episode because it was a beautiful moment.
• 36:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, it did come.
• 36:03
SPEAKER_00: And also it because their daughter wasn't there in the church, it was almost like in a way, maybe she had a better life.
• 36:11
SPEAKER_00: And maybe it, you know, hopefully, who knows?
• 36:14
SPEAKER_00: Maybe her grandfather passed away and left her with a lot of money and she went to became educated and had a great life, you know, almost as if you give up your kid for adoption.
• 36:21
SPEAKER_00: That's how I I guess I kind of thought about it, where I was like, oh, well, because um, you know, Aaron was there at the end as the little baby.
• 36:30
SPEAKER_09: Um, so I was almost like because Claire was able to go back to him.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_09: Did she go back to Maze Back, right?
• 36:36
  SPEAKER_09: Yes, she was.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_09: She was able to go back to him and reconnect with her child.
• 36:40
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they did where they had that relationship where they can build this purgatory to find out.
• 36:46
  SPEAKER_09: Yes, yeah.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_09: Son and Jen never were able to build that relationship with their child to bond, yeah, for her daughter to become part of the children.
• 36:54
SPEAKER_09: The son had a small time, but the daughter cognitive wasn't able to make that bond to say, hey, when I die, I want to go back to my parents.
• 37:04
SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
• 37:05
  SPEAKER_09: She was so young.
• 37:06
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it might have been.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, maybe, yeah.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_02: So one of the things that conf I guess still confuses me about the end scene with the church is that I feel like the whole flash sideways is still very jack-centric.
• 37:22
SPEAKER_02: So, like in the last scene on Island, he sees the plane fly overhead, Ajira.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_02: And then in um episode one of season six, it kind of begins and he's on uh the flash sideways plane.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_02: So I feel like it's kind of like he um his flash sideways begins as he dies.
• 37:53
SPEAKER_02: And I guess you're thinking about the plane, so he's on the plane and it's like it never happened, and so on and so forth.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_02: So I guess I always felt like this was from his perspective more than anything else.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_02: But then Christian says this is a place you made together.
• 38:16
SPEAKER_02: So it's like if if they made it together Okay, let me let me go back.
• 38:21
SPEAKER_02: If this is all from Jack's perspective, then it makes sense why maybe Saeed wouldn't be with Nadia in the church because Jack didn't know Nadia.
• 38:33
SPEAKER_02: Jack knew Saeed and and um Shannon together.
• 38:38
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Jack never knew Son's uh daughter.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_02: But then it did raise Aaron, yeah.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_02: But he knew Aaron, right?
• 38:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 38:50
SPEAKER_02: So it kind of makes sense that the people in the church are all people that Jack knew.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_09: And that even though obviously the I mean you're trying to say, let's say from the from let's just say if the show was Claire centric or whatever, one that was they would still make this place for them to get together, but it's it like the storylines for them to get there would look different.
• 39:17
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 39:18
  SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
• 39:18
  SPEAKER_10: Oh I don't know.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_10: Like you know, like it made like she's well, I just thought about a good example.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_09: Let's say Hurley, because he's he's been there from the beginning to the end.
• 39:27
SPEAKER_09: Let's say Hurley because he knows mostly everybody.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_02: Well, wait a minute, I just thought of something.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_02: Although that doesn't quite make sense because uh G Young, even though she was conceived on the island, she never actually was on the island.
• 39:47
SPEAKER_02: But then again, neither was Penny.
• 39:50
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, Penny was at her.
• 39:52
SPEAKER_09: But but Jack knows Penny because she but Jenny knows her ship, but like these are people he knows.
• 39:58
  SPEAKER_09: So, right.
• 39:58
SPEAKER_09: So if it was taken from like say Hurley's perspective, they still made this place for them to come together, but their process will look different from Hurley's point of view.
• 40:09
SPEAKER_02: But I'm not talking about the process, I'm talking about the like back to a storyline with the people who were at the church.
• 40:17
SPEAKER_02: As in w if son and gin were there and they had a kid, okay, even though they didn't re I mean son son did know her daughter for a couple of years.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_10: So, okay, so and that's so why wasn't the kid wasn't she there?
• 40:32
SPEAKER_09: Maybe if so if son had let's say from son's point if it was son centric, that's funny, would her daughter be in that uh church with her?
• 40:42
SPEAKER_09: That's like that's a question to ask, like in theory.
• 40:46
SPEAKER_02: See, and and to me that still doesn't make sense only because if we were looking at it through son's eyes, would the uh would the guest list change when uh this is a place that they made together.
• 41:00
SPEAKER_02: I feel like who's there is who's there so and who's not there is who's not there.
• 41:06
SPEAKER_02: These these are the guests, these are the people who show up to the party.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_02: But I'm guessing that it's somehow still Jack centric because the people that Jack knows are there and the people that Jack and and how he knows them.
• 41:23
  SPEAKER_02: Right?
• 41:24
SPEAKER_02: Like he only knows and as a baby.
• 41:27
SPEAKER_00: I think I think also your point can be proven because the show literally begins with Jack opening his eye and close and closing.
• 41:35
  unknown: Yeah.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_00: So it literally is like one thought pro it is one thought process.
• 41:39
SPEAKER_00: It was it is technically one arc.
• 41:42
SPEAKER_00: So even though there are even though there are all these people involved, because honestly, I kind of stole that idea with the book series that I'm writing, where like there is lots of POVs, but I will kind of concentrate more on one character.
• 41:56
SPEAKER_00: Okay, and so it's like their book, so to speak.
• 41:58
SPEAKER_00: So I kind of can see that.
• 41:59
SPEAKER_00: So I think that you're correct, Lisa.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_00: But also as far as G Young, like not to sound harsh as a but from a writer's perspective, they only created her that way she would get off the island and Jin would sacrifice his life for her to get off the island.
• 42:13
SPEAKER_00: And then she would only and because they needed to separate the two of them somehow, somehow.
• 42:21
SPEAKER_00: And also they needed to bring up this whole thing about oh my gosh, when you're pregnant on the island, like you die, like it's really fucked up.
• 42:27
SPEAKER_00: So I mean, since Claire had lived and Claire was essentially an outlier, we had to have some, and it couldn't be Kate because they wouldn't ever really put Kate in that much danger.
• 42:37
SPEAKER_00: Um, but son, and also, oh, they're connected back with your husband.
• 42:42
SPEAKER_00: So it is definitely a writer's thing.
• 42:44
SPEAKER_00: And to be frank, I think either they forgot or like didn't really care, or they were like, we really are, or they were like secretly, we only really created this baby to create all this other cool stuff that happened, not to actually have them be connected with the baby.
• 42:57
SPEAKER_00: Connected with the baby, yeah.
• 42:59
SPEAKER_00: So there and like I said, I didn't realize that people I had never even thought about it until I started listening to you guys in particular um about this topic.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_02: But I never thought about it before either, honestly.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, especially from uh in regards to son and gin.
• 43:16
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but from a writer's perspective, you had to separate that pair because if they had left the island together, they would never ever come back.
• 43:23
SPEAKER_00: No, there'd be no reason to and you couldn't and you wouldn't want to leave son there because you really wanted they really wanted to have Juliet be like the only chick.
• 43:32
SPEAKER_00: Because she was like honestly, they killed Charlotte, the poor girl.
• 43:36
SPEAKER_00: But uh, because again, I mean it's really I love Juliet and I'm so glad that she at least got something, but I really feel like they dropped the the ball on like every single one of these women, these poor women.
• 43:46
SPEAKER_09: Seriously, all the women were killed.
• 43:48
SPEAKER_09: And back to Jack for a second.
• 43:50
SPEAKER_09: Jack to bring home Lisa's point with hi Stella, um the whole was it in a season three, beginning season four, when he's like, we gotta go back.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_09: He also spearheaded them going back to the island.
• 44:03
SPEAKER_09: He's he was the one he opened his eyes, he spearheaded coming back, he closed his eyes, he had it from beginning, the middle, and the end.
• 44:11
SPEAKER_09: And it's funny how Jack is the one that got on my nerves the most.
• 44:15
SPEAKER_09: I liked Ben more than I liked Jack, even like evil Ben in the beginning.
• 44:22
SPEAKER_00: Ben was he's the character.
• 44:24
  SPEAKER_00: He's such.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_00: He's one of the best characters on television I've ever seen.
• 44:28
SPEAKER_00: And that actor Michael Emerson is also, I've seen him in other stuff.
• 44:32
SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a show called Evil, which I don't know if you ladies have seen, but I have.
• 44:36
SPEAKER_02: He's they filmed some of it in one of the bars that my husband likes to go to in Brooklyn.
• 44:41
  SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
• 44:42
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, how cool.
• 44:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 44:43
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, he is so good in that show.
• 44:45
SPEAKER_00: And like if I ever met that actor in real life, I would run away.
• 44:48
SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll be terrified of him.
• 44:50
SPEAKER_02: I mean, no pun intended, but like nobody plays evil better than him.
• 44:54
  SPEAKER_02: Than him.
• 44:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 44:56
SPEAKER_00: But even his his wife, um, who did play Emily, his mother in the show, she said that that's what turned that's what that's what attracted her to him.
• 45:04
  SPEAKER_00: She's like, he's such a talented actor.
• 45:06
SPEAKER_00: She's like, he's so good at his job.
• 45:08
SPEAKER_00: It was a turn on, and I was like, hey, yeah.
• 45:10
  SPEAKER_00: I think I feel that.
• 45:12
SPEAKER_09: Like listen, anybody um who's like excels at what they do is a complete turn on.
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 45:20
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, oh, you rockin' being like whatever it is, like you're like the best road builder ever.
• 45:27
  SPEAKER_09: Come here.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_09: You know, whatever it is.
• 45:29
SPEAKER_02: Like you nobody lays that tar like you do.
• 45:34
SPEAKER_09: I mean, that could be taken home a couple different ways.
• 45:39
  SPEAKER_09: You said it, Lisa.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_09: I just walked through the door.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_10: Are you done?
• 45:51
SPEAKER_10: Until you say something else.
• 45:54
SPEAKER_02: I want to hear your thoughts on um Eloise.
• 45:59
SPEAKER_02: Because she's another character who has kind of blurred the lines.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_09: Eloise has given Lisa like lost headaches.
• 46:10
SPEAKER_02: Oh, she is one that still gives me lost headaches, yeah.
• 46:14
SPEAKER_00: I I will say I have kind of a theory that also includes like Desmond and Daniel Faraday.
• 46:21
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 46:22
SPEAKER_00: So I think the three of them are in essence like the most special.
• 46:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think Eloise, it's because Daniel came to her in and was murdered by her, and she had this journal, that essentially is, I think, how Eloise was able to tell a lot of the future.
• 46:41
SPEAKER_00: And I believe that she had a lot of these flashes that obviously Desmond had.
• 46:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, and granted, now the writers did kind of have Desmond only have those flashes to predict Charlie's death and yada yada, and then it kind of like never happened again.
• 46:54
SPEAKER_00: But the fact that even in the flash sideways, Desmond appeared on the plane magically, and Desmond, even in the episode Happily Ever After, he just kind of appears in the airport and he's turned it as a reflection, and then Hugo happens to be like, hey, dude, like we're over there.
• 47:10
SPEAKER_00: Like he doesn't, he's with the group, but not with the group.
• 47:14
SPEAKER_00: And I also think there's something to be said uh as far as Daniel Faraday is that's concerned as well, where he also can almost predict the future.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_00: And it's also because Desmond came to him and gave him information.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_00: Um, in that one episode, The Constant, where he goes and says, Oh, you're just on an island, and Daniel Faraday is like, Oh shit, I'm on an island.
• 47:36
SPEAKER_00: And then he's able to write in his journal, if you need a constant, it's Desmond Hume.
• 47:40
SPEAKER_00: And I think all of that is connected.
• 47:42
SPEAKER_00: They can all, this mother and son can essentially tell the future because they were able to reconnect, and because they reconnected, uh, because of Desmond Hume, basically.
• 47:52
SPEAKER_00: Like all roads lead to Desmond Hume, is in my mind.
• 47:56
SPEAKER_09: I just had a thought real quick to actually make just to jump on Lisa's point and just kind of like solidify it.
• 48:05
SPEAKER_09: When you said that um it looks the way it the the waiting room looked the way it looked, because uh based on Jack who he knew, Penny and Desmond had a son, and obviously they had a life with their son.
• 48:18
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
• 48:18
SPEAKER_02: He wasn't there, and he wasn't there.
• 48:20
  SPEAKER_09: You're right.
• 48:21
SPEAKER_09: So that goes just to just to like give Charlotte just to give Lisa's point more of a validation.
• 48:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, of course, of course.
• 48:31
SPEAKER_02: Like so but going back even to Desmond, so let's let's assume that the sideways Desmond Desmond was there because Jack knew him.
• 48:45
SPEAKER_02: So if we're under the assumption that the place was created so that they could all find one another, then it explains how Desmond would be on the plane because this is now Jack's uh new reality.
• 48:58
SPEAKER_02: It doesn't explain how Desmond still has those blurred lines because in the flash sideways, he's like, No, I have to go round the whole group up.
• 49:16
SPEAKER_02: And on Island, he's like, Hey Jack, there's another place we can go after this.
• 49:22
SPEAKER_02: It's cool, don't worry, you can die, it's fine.
• 49:25
SPEAKER_02: But before that, when Desmond still doesn't understand and he's buying the ring for Penny and Eloise's like, no, no, no, no, no, it's not supposed to happen.
• 49:39
SPEAKER_02: Like, I forgot what episode that was, but you know, she's like, it's not supposed no, that's not how it's supposed to no.
• 49:45
SPEAKER_02: And even in the flash side ways, she's once he starts to re realize and remember she's the one who's like, what are you doing?
• 49:56
SPEAKER_02: Like slow your roll, buddy.
• 49:58
SPEAKER_09: I think she was afraid that she was taking Daniel with.
• 50:01
SPEAKER_09: I think she was afraid that I think she's like, once he saw, she's taking Daniel, and I think once that he's not, he's like, not with me.
• 50:09
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, All right, boo, peace out.
• 50:11
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think that's why she was like, No, no, no.
• 50:15
SPEAKER_02: For me, the point is that she sees both sides and so does both worlds, and so does so does Desmond, and they've they've helped each other, but she has the ability to, so that part has always fascinated me, and I can't quite put my finger on.
• 50:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you and I are definitely because that's what I was basically trying to say with the the three of them are able to see the future and essentially have this connection through worlds.
• 50:50
SPEAKER_00: Because even you're right, in um LAX Part 1, Desmond does just show up on the plane with Jack, but he pops in and out, and he is almost as omniscient as Eloise.
• 51:03
SPEAKER_00: Once he clicks in, he clicks in 100%.
• 51:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's in, he's locked in 100%, but he knows that he can't go alone because it's almost as if his sole purpose was to get these people together.
• 51:16
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he was in the hatch for three years just pushing that button, and they the whole plane crashed because he didn't.
• 51:24
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 51:24
SPEAKER_00: Like he is the beginning and the end, he is the Alpha Omega, is kind of what I believe.
• 51:30
SPEAKER_00: I believe that Desmond was the reason that all of this happened and also the reason that all of it was able to end and they were able to move on.
• 51:38
SPEAKER_00: But to your point, Lisa, I do 100% agree that even though Desmond is like this, and Eloise and possibly Daniel are like magical entities, possibly, or have something else going on that's not really addressed.
• 51:51
SPEAKER_00: I think it's A not addressed because as a writer, that's once you define that, it's really hard and there's a lot of you lose, you lose the magic behind it.
• 52:00
SPEAKER_00: And also, since it's from Jack's perspective, Jack isn't introspective like that.
• 52:04
SPEAKER_00: He wouldn't care, he wouldn't care to think beyond.
• 52:06
  SPEAKER_00: I think that's the better point.
• 52:08
SPEAKER_00: And also, that's another reason because some people are like, Why did Locke never tell Jack a spinal surgeon that hey, I was paralyzed and now I can walk?
• 52:17
SPEAKER_00: And I think it's because Locke was like, I can't give him facts, that's not enough.
• 52:22
SPEAKER_00: So if Desmond went to Jack and was like, hey, dude, I literally see the future.
• 52:28
SPEAKER_00: Um, so how he corrects, and it was so that was great for the writers because then they could be like, hey, this guy just has no interest in some of these things, so we don't need to dive deep, and be if we define it too much, that can be up in arms.
• 52:44
  SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I agree.
• 52:45
SPEAKER_00: Else is a very interesting character.
• 52:48
  SPEAKER_00: Um, I just I think she's a very interesting character.
• 52:52
SPEAKER_00: So I I totally agree with you.
• 52:54
SPEAKER_02: To your point about Locke not telling Jack, if if I had to guess, I don't know if it's because Locke can't give him facts or because to Locke the Island was enough of an answer that none of it none of it.
• 53:12
  SPEAKER_03: Nothing else mattered.
• 53:14
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 53:15
SPEAKER_02: Like he was the man of faith.
• 53:18
SPEAKER_09: So speaking of Locke, I don't know.
• 53:20
SPEAKER_09: Melissa has a has a has a point of view or something.
• 53:24
SPEAKER_09: Can't wait to hear it, because it was really bothering me.
• 53:26
SPEAKER_09: Well, actually it's bothering Lisa, I think.
• 53:28
SPEAKER_09: As to you had a I a thought on why the man in black stayed as Locke.
• 53:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 53:36
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_00: So I forget exactly which episode it is, but um when Alana tells Jack and Hurley that they're candidates and they're there with Sun and Ben and the rest of the gang, Jack does say, like, hey, like he looks like Locke now, but if he can change into anything, like what what are we searching for?
• 53:57
SPEAKER_00: Like, what are we hunting for basically?
• 53:59
SPEAKER_00: And Alana was like, no, now that Jacob is dead, he's stuck that way.
• 54:04
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's right.
• 54:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 54:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's right.
• 54:07
SPEAKER_00: I forgot about that part.
• 54:08
SPEAKER_00: I forgot all about that.
• 54:09
SPEAKER_00: And it's because I think that they're basically their supernatural abilities, since they're twins, are connected.
• 54:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, so essentially, like, hey, you killed your brother, well, now you're locked in like this.
• 54:22
SPEAKER_00: And Desmond being the secret weapon and taking out the light, which I think was a little, a little hokey, maybe, maybe production level wasn't the best.
• 54:30
SPEAKER_06: But um because it was literally a cork.
• 54:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like, okay, whatever.
• 54:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh I mean, all that had to happen, and I think that that's you know, when you have to, when you're getting towards the end of the story, you have to break down the magic somehow, you know, because it's not interesting if they're immortal and nothing can take them down.
• 54:55
SPEAKER_00: Cause then it's like, well, literally, no one's gonna win.
• 54:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what's the point?
• 54:59
SPEAKER_00: So you had to have these different people with different abilities and different parts in the story, you know, because even I had never thought about it, Lisa, until you had mentioned it when Kate said thank you to Charlie, but it was about, you know, sacrificing him, himself there in the uh, I forget what that one was called.
• 55:16
SPEAKER_00: When he drowned, not when he's boat.
• 55:18
  SPEAKER_00: The looking glass.
• 55:19
  SPEAKER_00: The looking glass.
• 55:20
SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, I mean, that is that was one step to the ladder.
• 55:26
SPEAKER_00: So even though Desmond had said, Hey, I see Claire getting on a helicopter, and she didn't technically get on the next helicopter that we as viewers saw, she did get on a plane, and Aaron did get on a helicopter, and they both were safe and off the island, and that couldn't have begun until Charlie, you know, drowned and you know.
• 55:45
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 55:46
  SPEAKER_00: So but uh yeah.
• 55:49
SPEAKER_00: So I mean it's just all all connected, and you can find all different connections.
• 55:53
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, but Eloise is really it's something to ponder, and I kind of like that they left stuff like that open.
• 56:01
SPEAKER_02: I just feel like she doesn't she's such a um um oh like like she doesn't get enough fanfare because she really does pull the strings in the storyline and I feel like uh she gets overlooked a lot.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_02: Like her her role in things gets overlooked a lot.
• 56:29
SPEAKER_09: I wonder though, if she got more, uh will she be as interesting to us?
• 56:35
  SPEAKER_09: Well no.
• 56:37
SPEAKER_09: Let me I mean that it's not to it's not really to be answered.
• 56:39
SPEAKER_02: I'm just wondering, like But I I so I mean it like she gets overlooked, I feel not in lost writing and shooting and filming because I think that that's part of the the brilliance and the mystery is keeping her kind of a mystery.
• 57:02
SPEAKER_02: A sprinkle here and a sprinkle there, just sprinkle there.
• 57:05
SPEAKER_02: But when the show is spoken about and and she gets forgotten about, I think that people don't talk about her enough and her role in moving Desmond along and and just another example of ageism and misogyny happening in the world.
• 57:26
SPEAKER_09: She gets like the old the old lady gets forgotten about, and this problem that's the one that you need to watch out for, whether good or bad.
• 57:32
SPEAKER_09: That was the dangerous one.
• 57:33
SPEAKER_02: Have you watched The New Man in Charge?
• 57:36
SPEAKER_00: Yes, I have seen the epilogue.
• 57:38
SPEAKER_00: I saw it, I've seen it once or twice, like a hundred years ago.
• 57:41
SPEAKER_00: Um, have you ladies seen it?
• 57:43
SPEAKER_02: We did so we we did see it, and we actually recorded our episode yesterday.
• 57:48
SPEAKER_02: So it just hasn't come out yet.
• 57:50
SPEAKER_02: It's not edited yet, but we did watch it and record.
• 57:54
SPEAKER_02: But I have a question because this was the first time for me also seeing that.
• 57:58
SPEAKER_02: I had never seen it before.
• 57:59
SPEAKER_02: And then I didn't even realize that that was a thing until Agnes and I started this podcast.
• 58:04
SPEAKER_02: So I said, you know what, I'm not gonna watch it until we get there and we'll do it together.
• 58:12
SPEAKER_02: Ben says that the lamp the uh Dharma drops have been coming from the Lampos station, which has been unmanned for 20 years.
• 58:22
SPEAKER_02: I had an issue with this because I'm like, but Eloise knows about the Lampos station.
• 58:26
SPEAKER_02: Oh, we had like this big issue.
• 58:28
SPEAKER_09: You have the issue, but I think I worked it out.
• 58:32
SPEAKER_02: I had an issue because Eloise knows about the Lampos station.
• 58:39
SPEAKER_02: That's where they had the big pendulum, where like let's determine the window that we can get back to the island, where it's gonna be, how we get there.
• 58:50
SPEAKER_02: So my issue was the lamppost is connected to Dharma.
• 58:57
  SPEAKER_02: I get that.
• 58:59
SPEAKER_02: Because all the stations were Dharma.
• 59:04
SPEAKER_02: I don't necessarily have an issue with Eloise knowing because as we know, she's a little bit more mystical and she knows things that the others don't.
• 59:18
SPEAKER_02: The issue for me was like, but if the drops were coming, and I and I worked out a theory on my own, but if the drops were still coming from the lamppost and the lamppost was unarmed, why?
• 59:31
SPEAKER_02: If Eloise knew that this station existed, she obviously was very comfortable there as the way she was zipping around, and I I said she was like Garcia on Criminal Minds, like just doing her thing there.
• 59:49
SPEAKER_02: But why wouldn't she have stopped the drops or why was it unmanned?
• 59:58
SPEAKER_02: So, like that, I came up with a theory, but I'm not gonna tell you yet.
• 1:00:02
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I will tell you if you want to know, like I won't say, like, oh no, no, I'm going to be episode.
• 1:00:06
  SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
• 1:00:07
SPEAKER_00: But I want to wait to listen.
• 1:00:08
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm gonna wait to wait.
• 1:00:09
SPEAKER_00: I do want to listen.
• 1:00:10
SPEAKER_02: Okay, but I just want to hear if you had to come up with a theory, how would you kind of wrap that up in a nice little shiny Dharma bow?
• 1:00:20
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I think with an Apollo bar.
• 1:00:23
  SPEAKER_00: With an Apollo bar.
• 1:00:24
SPEAKER_00: Because the drops were going to the island, weren't they?
• 1:00:28
SPEAKER_00: I mean, she knew people were there.
• 1:00:30
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she knew people did exist there.
• 1:00:33
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I mean, at one point the 815 survivors used some of those rations.
• 1:00:40
SPEAKER_00: So it was maybe one of those things where she's like, uh, that's minute paperwork, and I don't care.
• 1:00:47
SPEAKER_00: And also maybe I don't want to make a fuss.
• 1:00:49
SPEAKER_02: But she wants to do paperwork.
• 1:00:51
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she's like, I don't want to do paperwork.
• 1:00:53
SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't want to make a fuss about it.
• 1:00:55
  SPEAKER_00: It's going, who cares?
• 1:00:57
SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm not paying for it.
• 1:00:58
  SPEAKER_00: That's what I would think.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_00: If I was not paying for it, I would not do the paperwork personally.
• 1:01:02
SPEAKER_00: Um, just but um, I mean, yeah, the epilogue, that part of it, I didn't think too deep on it.
• 1:01:11
SPEAKER_00: It was just like kind of like an info dump for me.
• 1:01:13
SPEAKER_00: The only part that I cared about, and the only part that really stuck with me, was thank God they gave Walt something.
• 1:01:21
SPEAKER_00: And that they were able to tell Walt, oh, because like talk about a gut punch when they told Walt, like, hey, you want to help your father.
• 1:01:28
SPEAKER_00: Oh, this poor little boy.
• 1:01:30
SPEAKER_00: You know, he probably had all this guilt about, you know, at one point, you know, maybe being afraid of his father, and at one point, like, my father committed these murders just for me, and then the guilt about that, and then being alone, and then this uh crazy island thing happened, and my life is a shit show.
• 1:01:47
SPEAKER_00: So I was so glad that they got this poor gentleman, poor young gentleman that had essentially had half of his life tormented by this island and all these people to finally be like, hey, dude, like we're gonna take you to this island and it's gonna be good this time, and you're gonna be in charge, and you're gonna maybe help your dad heal, and maybe then who knows, maybe he could move on.
• 1:02:07
SPEAKER_00: Um, although he's one of the whispers.
• 1:02:09
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean, I thought that that was, or at least um Wall could spend the rest of his life doing good for others, and his life could have a purpose.
• 1:02:17
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 1:02:18
SPEAKER_00: Um, because I I mean, I don't know if you guys read the book Burn It Down or are aware of any of the writer's room stuff.
• 1:02:26
  SPEAKER_00: No, but not really.
• 1:02:28
SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get too deep into it, but apparently there was like a lot of racism and sexism in the writer's room.
• 1:02:35
SPEAKER_00: So that was because I mean Harold Pernew, like, oh my god, when I knew that he was on the show, like, what a get, like this man talk about great actors and um young Walt, who knows what he could have been, you know, but they didn't really give him a chance.
• 1:02:50
SPEAKER_00: Um so I really was, I mean, more upset with Walt and Michael, that ball being dropped, than I was about Shannon.
• 1:02:57
SPEAKER_00: And I'm really upset about dropping the ball on Shannon.
• 1:03:00
SPEAKER_00: So I was glad that at the epilogue they were at least like, okay, let's give this character some hope.
• 1:03:07
SPEAKER_00: Um, and the poor guy, you know, just poor Walt just being left alone all the time.
• 1:03:13
SPEAKER_00: And um, so I was I was happy that that, you know, he got and also of all the people to hang out with, Hurley, like what a cool dude.
• 1:03:21
SPEAKER_00: Hurley is unanimously, because I will say when I first saw it, the very first time when Hurley was ultimately made the protector, I was like, yeah, that I was like, that is that fits.
• 1:03:32
SPEAKER_00: That fits because obviously Jack had to get us there and be the Burly dude and yada yada.
• 1:03:37
SPEAKER_00: But I was like, all right, dude, like great having you, white guy, but we can we can see you later.
• 1:03:41
SPEAKER_00: So Hurley, I mean, and also I had heard someone come up with this thought.
• 1:03:46
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it was you guys, maybe it was, but um, that when they do get on Ajira and they know it's gonna crash, Hurley buys all those tickets.
• 1:03:56
SPEAKER_00: So no one else could die.
• 1:03:59
SPEAKER_00: As you said, I mean the the fewest amount of people could die.
• 1:04:02
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, you're right, these other people are rich as shit too, and they didn't think about it.
• 1:04:07
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, Ben literally, because Jack is like, once Jack's on the plane, he's like, Oh, wait, holy shit.
• 1:04:12
SPEAKER_00: And Ben's like, who the who the hell cares?
• 1:04:14
SPEAKER_00: Hurley was literally the only one that was like, and he was constantly giving away his fortune.
• 1:04:19
SPEAKER_00: It meant nothing to him, and it only meant he only cared about someone's true self, and um he was meant to be a savior.
• 1:04:27
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I didn't even think about that.
• 1:04:29
SPEAKER_09: I didn't know Hurley was just a good guy, yeah.
• 1:04:32
  SPEAKER_09: You brought it home.
• 1:04:33
SPEAKER_00: Oh, but he was always yeah, yeah, and that's why he's one of my husband's favorites.
• 1:04:37
SPEAKER_00: Also, my husband's Mexican American, and so is Hurley, so he's like so there's that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:04:42
SPEAKER_00: But uh, but yeah, I I thought that that made perfect sense.
• 1:04:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, because Hurley was like the only 100% pure one, and even in that little cartoon skit that you that we saw, they were like, Hurley, you're perfect.
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_00: In fact, can I get a hug?
• 1:04:54
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's so true, that's so true.
• 1:04:58
SPEAKER_00: Even Charlie, who was like, oh man, you know, a character with a lot of pitfalls, even Hurley likes all the good in Charlie, and Said, who is literally a mass murderer, you know, and a torturer.
• 1:05:10
  SPEAKER_00: So everyone loves Hurley.
• 1:05:13
  SPEAKER_09: Pun intended, pun intended.
• 1:05:16
  SPEAKER_09: Do you know?
• 1:05:16
SPEAKER_09: Okay, so the one person I was kind of sad not to see was Echo, Mr.
• 1:05:21
  SPEAKER_09: Echo.
• 1:05:22
  SPEAKER_09: Yes, yes.
• 1:05:24
SPEAKER_09: I was just like, wait, they missed that one.
• 1:05:26
SPEAKER_09: I'm sure there was behind the scenes reasons, whatever.
• 1:05:30
SPEAKER_09: I don't care, they should have worked it out and find a way to get Mr.
• 1:05:34
  SPEAKER_09: Echo.
• 1:05:34
SPEAKER_06: Because this, I think of to have such a spiritual ending and not have Echo a part of that.
• 1:05:43
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah, dude.
• 1:05:44
  SPEAKER_09: I'm sorry, Lisa.
• 1:05:45
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:05:47
SPEAKER_09: Every time I hit the table, she's like, stop, it ain't stuff.
• 1:05:50
SPEAKER_09: Um I have to sit on my hands now.
• 1:05:53
SPEAKER_09: I think that was a huge missed opportunity.
• 1:05:56
SPEAKER_09: And I think we need to go back and redo the last episode with Echo.
• 1:06:01
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 1:06:02
  SPEAKER_09: 20 years later.
• 1:06:02
SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I can just like CGI him in there.
• 1:06:05
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 1:06:06
  SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
• 1:06:06
SPEAKER_00: I'm I guess with AI now they could maybe they can do anything they want.
• 1:06:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:06:11
SPEAKER_00: But then they wouldn't be paying him, I guess, so that wouldn't be good.
• 1:06:13
SPEAKER_09: But I mean this, there's not a pay him.
• 1:06:16
  SPEAKER_09: I think, yeah.
• 1:06:17
SPEAKER_00: Oh, well no, I well, yeah, of course I think they should.
• 1:06:20
SPEAKER_00: I was seeing if they did AI, sometimes they could be like, Oh, it's an AI image, we don't gotta pay you.
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_00: I was like, not I was like
• 1:06:25
SPEAKER_02: Well, but I wonder how does that work?
• 1:06:28
SPEAKER_02: Because in some episodes they you they reuse footage from earlier episodes.
• 1:06:34
SPEAKER_02: They gotta give you a cut for that.
• 1:06:36
  SPEAKER_02: You do get something.
• 1:06:37
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:06:38
SPEAKER_02: But do they have right they have to give you something, but do they have to ask your permission?
• 1:06:43
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 1:06:43
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, I I don't think so.
• 1:06:44
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 1:06:44
SPEAKER_00: I think once it's once because it belongs to the studio.
• 1:06:47
  SPEAKER_00: It like didn't take.
• 1:06:48
  SPEAKER_02: That's the loophole.
• 1:06:49
  SPEAKER_02: Just cut him out.
• 1:06:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:06:50
SPEAKER_02: Paste and say, here's your check.
• 1:06:53
SPEAKER_00: I would have preferred if they had uh Walt there in the church with them.
• 1:06:58
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I get I get if they were like, let's keep Michael as part of the Echoes and torture poor goddamn Michael Dawson, you know, for an at forever and ever and ever.
• 1:07:07
SPEAKER_00: Um I think at some point he should have been able to be forgiven.
• 1:07:11
SPEAKER_00: Even even Hugo forgave him.
• 1:07:13
SPEAKER_00: But uh anyway, but I I would have preferred if they had Walt in the church than Echo.
• 1:07:18
SPEAKER_00: But I do get what you're saying, but he should have been there somehow.
• 1:07:22
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
• 1:07:22
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:07:23
  SPEAKER_09: On the island.
• 1:07:24
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know how, I don't care how.
• 1:07:26
SPEAKER_00: I just should have because L he and Locke had a really interesting dynamic.
• 1:07:31
SPEAKER_00: So I think even Locke should have been like, you know, um Mr.
• 1:07:35
SPEAKER_00: Echo passed on uh with his brother, because I think at whatever episode Echo uh died on, at the end of the episode, there's a flash with him and his brother going off into the sunset.
• 1:07:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 1:07:46
SPEAKER_00: And as a fan, I believe that he just passed on with his brother, which was the more important person to him than anyone on the island.
• 1:07:53
SPEAKER_00: That's a good way to look at it though.
• 1:07:55
  SPEAKER_00: That's what I try to believe.
• 1:07:56
  SPEAKER_00: So beautiful.
• 1:07:56
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's fine.
• 1:07:57
SPEAKER_09: I'd be okay with it.
• 1:07:58
  SPEAKER_09: Okay, yeah.
• 1:08:00
SPEAKER_02: The only other person that I would have put at the church is Anna Lucia, but she wasn't ready yet.
• 1:08:08
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think it would have been that cool if she was there, but I could also see how she wouldn't because she was still grieving the loss of her child when she died.
• 1:08:17
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 1:08:17
SPEAKER_00: She had not even begun to unpack that.
• 1:08:20
  SPEAKER_00: So, you know.
• 1:08:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's a good point.
• 1:08:24
SPEAKER_00: I could see how maybe she and Ben, because it makes perfect sense that Ben needed another minute.
• 1:08:28
SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, But it's not yeah, we need to roast you a little bit longer.
• 1:08:33
SPEAKER_02: Present even if she was present at the finale in in more capacity than just unlocking the the door, the van.
• 1:08:43
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the police.
• 1:08:45
SPEAKER_00: Maybe she was cognizant and and agreeing to stay like Ben and agreeing to work on herself.
• 1:08:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I could see that.
• 1:08:51
  SPEAKER_00: I could see that.
• 1:08:52
  SPEAKER_00: Um, I think I don't know why.
• 1:08:55
SPEAKER_00: I feel like at the time people really didn't care for Anna Lucia.
• 1:08:58
SPEAKER_00: I thought she was very interesting.
• 1:08:59
SPEAKER_00: I thought she was very sexy too.
• 1:09:01
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, my god.
• 1:09:02
SPEAKER_09: As you probably as you already know, I've already had a girl crush on her from fast.
• 1:09:07
SPEAKER_09: I mean, so she could do no wrong.
• 1:09:09
SPEAKER_00: And those low rise jeans, ooh, girl.
• 1:09:11
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: Listen, the early 2000s was something else.
• 1:09:16
  SPEAKER_00: Whale tails.
• 1:09:18
SPEAKER_00: Yes, it was oh my god, I know.
• 1:09:20
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:09:20
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but yeah, Michelle Rodriguez was made for a pair of low rise jeans.
• 1:09:24
  SPEAKER_00: So uh yeah.
• 1:09:26
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the early, the early Anna Lucia episodes.
• 1:09:29
SPEAKER_02: I I do not like the character of Anna Lucia, but just just the same way, it's like, oh same as Shannon, you know their character development.
• 1:09:44
SPEAKER_02: So by the time they're taken from us, it's like, oh, oh my god, kidding me.
• 1:09:49
SPEAKER_00: It's like we were, and also both those women were about to start healing, exactly.
• 1:09:55
SPEAKER_00: You know, both those women were finally like, wow, I need to, I need hello.
• 1:10:01
SPEAKER_00: So that's the other thing, is like they were cut short on their healing journey.
• 1:10:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, so because I don't know, have you ladies seen the documentary?
• 1:10:08
  SPEAKER_00: There's a lost documentary.
• 1:10:10
SPEAKER_02: I have not seen it yet.
• 1:10:12
SPEAKER_00: I was reading something I already knew.
• 1:10:15
SPEAKER_02: Um, but I was reading, I was down like a Reddit rabbit hole about it.
• 1:10:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I saw a lot of people saying that they were not pleased by it because it's less character and story and more fan.
• 1:10:34
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:10:35
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:10:36
SPEAKER_00: Um it's more like it, it is more about showing the different fans and the different fandoms in the podcast versus sitting down with the actors and saying, tell me all about you know this doing this scene.
• 1:10:48
  SPEAKER_00: Did you I did.
• 1:10:51
SPEAKER_00: Um I because it came here to Houston.
• 1:10:53
SPEAKER_00: Um I saw it with I have a lost spoiler alert, I have a losty friend, so we went to see it together.
• 1:10:58
SPEAKER_00: But uh I will definitely agree with that.
• 1:11:01
SPEAKER_00: It was very fan heavy, and that was kind of cool with me.
• 1:11:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, because I think that there is enough out there that if you do want to search and find out what Matthew, and also Matthew Fox wasn't part of it.
• 1:11:11
SPEAKER_00: So if you want to find out what he thought about the show, you have to go search it on YouTube anyway.
• 1:11:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I will say, I mean, I don't know if you guys want to spoil her uh from it.
• 1:11:20
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you have any interest in watching it.
• 1:11:22
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh yeah, okay, I just is like no.
• 1:11:25
SPEAKER_00: But uh, because they did have Evangeline Lily, they did have Kate there, and they did also have Sawyer.
• 1:11:31
SPEAKER_00: I will say if you Sawyer just alone to see the things that he says, and Terry O'Quinn, and Terry O'Quinn didn't aged day.
• 1:11:38
SPEAKER_00: This man looks the same.
• 1:11:38
  SPEAKER_00: He looks amazing, yeah.
• 1:11:39
  SPEAKER_00: It was shocking.
• 1:11:40
SPEAKER_00: This man is I love him.
• 1:11:42
SPEAKER_00: He's bathing in baby blood.
• 1:11:43
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what he's doing, but uh they did have oh you know those Democrats.
• 1:11:48
  SPEAKER_00: I know, yeah.
• 1:11:50
SPEAKER_02: But uh is it time for mine yet?
• 1:11:53
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I feel yeah.
• 1:11:57
SPEAKER_00: They did have Evangeline Lee talk about her character, Kate, and she did say something along the very close to what you're saying.
• 1:12:04
SPEAKER_00: Both, I think all of us are saying, that at first my character was really interesting, and then they just put me in this love triangle.
• 1:12:10
SPEAKER_00: And she did state in the documentary that there was a time where she was like, I want off the show, because you're just putting me in this love triangle.
• 1:12:16
SPEAKER_00: I my character is doing nothing, like, what's the point?
• 1:12:19
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I guess then that would have been literally every woman off the show, because it would have just had her, it was her and son, and son they barely had in the show.
• 1:12:27
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:12:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, so I can only presume that's why they did have her take Aaron, because then they could have Kate have another storyline.
• 1:12:34
SPEAKER_00: And I do think that that's very interesting.
• 1:12:36
SPEAKER_00: And I do think that um her literally being there um when Claire gives birth, and then also her raising Aaron for the first three or four years of his life uh is pretty impactful.
• 1:12:50
SPEAKER_00: But I did think that that was interesting that Kate was Kate, Evangeline Lively was like, dudes, I'm done making out with these two hot guys.
• 1:12:58
SPEAKER_00: Can we please give me a few years?
• 1:12:59
SPEAKER_02: Could you imagine how tough your job must be if you're like I'm so tired of making out with the hot guys?
• 1:13:04
SPEAKER_09: Like and I feel like the whole Aaron thing was a side note.
• 1:13:08
SPEAKER_09: They're like, okay, fine, let's give her something.
• 1:13:10
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:13:10
SPEAKER_00: And other than Juliet, I think Juliet was probably the most well-rounded female character, the only one.
• 1:13:20
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:13:21
SPEAKER_02: And the women had a lot of potential.
• 1:13:24
SPEAKER_02: I mean they didn't do it with them.
• 1:13:26
SPEAKER_02: Take Kate, yeah, a fugitive on the run, so much potential with this one.
• 1:13:33
SPEAKER_02: She blew up her father, estranged from her mother.
• 1:13:37
  SPEAKER_02: Stepfather?
• 1:13:38
  SPEAKER_02: Her father.
• 1:13:41
SPEAKER_02: It was her stepfather, but then she came to find out that it wasn't.
• 1:13:44
SPEAKER_06: It was actually blah blah blah.
• 1:13:45
  SPEAKER_06: Right, right, right.
• 1:13:45
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:13:46
SPEAKER_02: But she had the the guy who she thought was her father, she had a relationship with him.
• 1:13:51
SPEAKER_02: So there were there were all these pieces, all these threads that they could have more on.
• 1:13:57
SPEAKER_02: And then it's like, oh, but let's show her get married to a cop and just grocery shopping, and then like that was stupid.
• 1:14:06
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was it wasn't stupid, but it was stupid because when you had all of this to go with and you spent time on that and and she knew Cassidy.
• 1:14:20
SPEAKER_02: So those those were more interesting stories to me.
• 1:14:24
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:14:25
SPEAKER_02: You had son who uh honestly had the potential to be even more interesting than Kate because you had her parents, you had even though it's Jen, but you had the dynamic between his estrangement from his uh family because of his shame and the father and the fisherman, and the mother was a prostitute, and then how son's father treated him, and then they had a baby, so and the whole thing that she had the affair, and then she hid she was gonna leave him, she hid the fact that she spoke English.
• 1:14:57
SPEAKER_02: So you had all of these threads with her, too, that were potentially like really, really interesting.
• 1:15:03
SPEAKER_09: And they almost had it when she came back when she was when they were saved, and she came back and she was like a real like business badass.
• 1:15:12
SPEAKER_09: I was like, oh, here we go.
• 1:15:14
SPEAKER_09: And then it went off.
• 1:15:15
SPEAKER_02: And and in fairness, I think they did do more with the son character than the Kate character.
• 1:15:20
SPEAKER_02: Yes, but yeah, still left you feeling like, but she could be so she was so badass, and then she's like, okay, I'm gonna leave my kid for my by my husband.
• 1:15:29
SPEAKER_09: Once again, drop the ball.
• 1:15:31
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like I think of Claire, and all I could think of is like her eating fake peanut butter with Charlie and my baby.
• 1:15:39
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, and it's like, well, but there could have been more, I don't know what more, but there could have been more.
• 1:15:46
SPEAKER_02: And Maggie Grace, um, Shannon, it's like, okay, you just started to come into your own.
• 1:15:52
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you have the stepbrother issue, the daddy issue, the stepmommy issue.
• 1:15:56
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:15:58
SPEAKER_02: And then boom, you're gone.
• 1:15:59
SPEAKER_00: You're you're just on the verge of not becoming a total bitch, a total selfish bitch, you know, because you had that great loss.
• 1:16:06
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she hadn't even gotten over her mourning of her of her stepbrot.
• 1:16:10
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, I do think that they really did, but it's I almost I mean, I know that the writing room and the whole Hollywood now, and especially then was a real shit show.
• 1:16:21
  SPEAKER_00: Shit show, yeah.
• 1:16:22
SPEAKER_00: But I also think it's like they almost didn't know how to write those characters.
• 1:16:26
SPEAKER_00: There was no precedent, and even if you think about it, a show like Breaking Bad, where we have Skylar White, who's a very strong female character, she's like hated, like everyone hates her.
• 1:16:35
SPEAKER_02: It's like you like her, then you hate her, then you like her, then you hate her.
• 1:16:38
  SPEAKER_00: So it's very dynamic.
• 1:16:40
SPEAKER_00: Whereas everyone thinks Brian Crenston's the shit.
• 1:16:43
  SPEAKER_00: Although I do too.
• 1:16:44
SPEAKER_00: But anyway, um, but he is I'm part of the machine, but I do think that even Libby, um, where they had she had known her lead in the mental institution, and then for whatever reason, whether it's because she had an arrest in Hawaii or because she wanted to leave the show or because they were just tired of writing her, they killed her off.
• 1:17:04
SPEAKER_00: Um and again, they they claim that they had more stuff for her, too, and that would have been interesting.
• 1:17:10
SPEAKER_02: So flashback from her perspective, more than just her kind of meeting Desmond in a casting.
• 1:17:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:17:17
SPEAKER_00: So I mean, I do love the show for what it is, but there is a part of me that does mourn for what it could have been.
• 1:17:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:17:25
SPEAKER_02: Because in out of all of them, I'm okay with the way they left Libby.
• 1:17:30
SPEAKER_02: I would have loved to have a little bit more Libby, but I think that the shock of her departure was needed for Hurley because that that propelled his storyline.
• 1:17:45
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:17:46
SPEAKER_02: Out of all the women who got the shaft when it came to their storylines, I think hers I'm the most okay with.
• 1:17:57
SPEAKER_02: And maybe Anna Lucia, because her her storyline could have been more too, but then it was just repetitive.
• 1:18:05
SPEAKER_00: It was just they didn't, they just they kind of made her of uh they couldn't get her out of the stereotype quite.
• 1:18:13
SPEAKER_00: But I think that's also a little bit of when I when I think of Michelle Rodriguez, I think of her as having almost that personality as a real bitch, real abrasive, real like, don't fuck with me kind of.
• 1:18:25
SPEAKER_00: And maybe that is just stereotype because she kind of plays a lot of those roles.
• 1:18:28
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 1:18:28
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm sure she's a I'm not saying she's a horrible person.
• 1:18:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying if she feels she gives me the vibes of like, don't brush up against her in the street, or she'll be like, bitch, what?
• 1:18:37
SPEAKER_00: You know, so don't and don't touch her man, you're gonna or her woman or anybody, don't touch none of her people.
• 1:18:43
SPEAKER_00: Um so I do kind of get that.
• 1:18:46
SPEAKER_00: And but yeah, I mean, for me, the biggest gosh darn it, I think would probably be like the Walt Michael.
• 1:18:54
SPEAKER_00: Because I really, I mean, I think Harold Perineux is such a great actor, and also the people, a lot of the people that did leave asked almost asked to leave.
• 1:19:03
SPEAKER_02: Um the lack of women in the writer's room.
• 1:19:07
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, 100%.
• 1:19:08
  SPEAKER_00: 100%.
• 1:19:09
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think as far as writing strong female characters that people like, first of all, having a strong female character is hard because even women watching other women, yes, they're like, oh, I don't want to see that.
• 1:19:23
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, ew.
• 1:19:25
  SPEAKER_09: Misogyny is okay.
• 1:19:27
SPEAKER_09: Like women show misogyny too.
• 1:19:29
SPEAKER_09: But I and I was looking just to look at the dates.
• 1:19:32
SPEAKER_09: I I never watched it, but I remember like the talk and the fans.
• 1:19:38
SPEAKER_09: Everyone loved Katie Seagal and Sons of Anarchy.
• 1:19:42
SPEAKER_09: And I think that was one of the that I think that was the beginning of oh, this women in the writings room, women showrunners.
• 1:19:51
  SPEAKER_09: Hello, yes, scandal.
• 1:19:53
SPEAKER_09: You have Shonda doing scandal.
• 1:19:55
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, so you could tell when women start taking a leadership role behind the scenes because you have all these strong badass women being liked and looked up to.
• 1:20:06
  SPEAKER_09: And it's what 2008, 2006.
• 1:20:10
  SPEAKER_09: Right.
• 1:20:11
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:20:11
  SPEAKER_09: I'm a little I'm I'm ashamed took this long.
• 1:20:14
SPEAKER_09: And even now in 2024, you still have that pushback.
• 1:20:19
SPEAKER_08: Of course, you know, but for the most part, it's I mean, I think there's more female writers to your point.
• 1:20:25
SPEAKER_08: It would have been a I think it would have been different.
• 1:20:28
SPEAKER_02: There should have been more diversity, there should have been more women behind the scenes.
• 1:20:32
SPEAKER_02: The women characters should have had stronger storylines than just to be pregnant and be in love triangles, yeah, or follow the men.
• 1:20:42
SPEAKER_02: But what I will say is that as a New Yorker who witnessed shit with my very own two eyes, this show coming not that long after 9-11 and having a brown Middle Eastern main character.
• 1:21:06
SPEAKER_02: I mean, for me, uh like I you know, bleeding or liberal, I don't care.
• 1:21:11
SPEAKER_02: But I think to a lot of people, that was probably like, what the fuck?
• 1:21:16
SPEAKER_02: 100% enemy, enemy, enemy, you know, like that's that's like what we were hearing, you know, just just like non-stop.
• 1:21:28
SPEAKER_02: And yes, obviously there's there's no denying the truth of what happened on that day.
• 1:21:36
SPEAKER_02: But just like any other tragedy, just because one does doesn't mean all bad.
• 1:21:40
SPEAKER_02: But having this Middle Eastern man from Iraq as a main character, I'm sure was very shocking to a lot of people.
• 1:21:50
SPEAKER_02: And then you're like, oh, and he was in the war, and he was a torturer.
• 1:21:54
SPEAKER_02: And so, like, I feel like all people were like, oh no, no, we we're he's just there so we can hate him, but then you love him, yeah, you empathize with him, and it's like, what the fuck are these feelings?
• 1:22:07
SPEAKER_02: You know, what are you doing to me?
• 1:22:11
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to hate this man, even as a baby that it looked like.
• 1:22:14
SPEAKER_09: I love when he came on.
• 1:22:16
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like I love like but I'm not gonna lie, like, even me watching it was like, oh, oh, that's interesting.
• 1:22:26
  SPEAKER_02: And that's new, yeah.
• 1:22:29
SPEAKER_00: And I think that the fact that they even made his character learn how to torture from American soldiers, like he was essentially ex-military, and when he was watching the show, it was about that it was about season three.
• 1:22:45
SPEAKER_00: So that's I think that's when I think that's when that episode happened, or maybe it was season two.
• 1:22:49
SPEAKER_02: But anyway, when he saw that it was either season one or two, it yeah, actually, I think it was season three because I think it was season two because um it's he was in the hatch, he was in the hatch, uh yeah, Calvin Kelvin, something like that.
• 1:23:02
SPEAKER_02: Yes, Kelvin and and then he and he was with Kate's dad too, yes, yeah.
• 1:23:08
SPEAKER_00: So it was like tying all of those little yeah, but the fact that they could be out there essentially, and you're right, so close after 9-11, because I think that there are like a lot of people that are watching this that are younger that don't realize that it's like that was a huge fucking deal.
• 1:23:24
SPEAKER_00: Like, I think that I mean as a hairdresser, I get some clients that are younger and they're almost, I mean, they're like, oh, 9-11, COVID, yada yada, my life is torture.
• 1:23:32
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you don't even I'm like, yeah, I feel you, but I'm like 9-11, you don't even know.
• 1:23:37
SPEAKER_00: Like, that was uh I I always tell people like the country was never more united than uh September 12th.
• 1:23:43
SPEAKER_00: Because I mean, you know, girl, let me tell you something.
• 1:23:46
SPEAKER_02: On September 11th, there were not there was I was in the city, I worked in the West Village, there was not a fucking car going down the road, which already was like there's no traffic on 7th Avenue.
• 1:24:01
SPEAKER_02: Like I worked on 7th Avenue South.
• 1:24:02
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, where are the cars?
• 1:24:06
SPEAKER_02: There were no cars, the only cars you saw go by were emergency vehicles.
• 1:24:11
SPEAKER_02: Everyone headed up and and out, you know, like away out.
• 1:24:19
SPEAKER_02: I mean, down Manhattan is not like a very hard map to look at, but it was, you know, the the trade centers were downtown.
• 1:24:27
SPEAKER_02: So everyone went up and out, walked over bridges, walked uptown, walked.
• 1:24:33
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you can walk over most of the bridges.
• 1:24:37
SPEAKER_02: Um, George Washington, all the um the Brooklyn Queens bridges, for the most part, you can walk on them.
• 1:24:45
SPEAKER_02: We went, my husband and I went up to his mom's job.
• 1:24:50
SPEAKER_02: She worked like midtown, and we just stayed there until we knew what the fuck we were gonna do because we were like, we don't know what's going on.
• 1:24:58
SPEAKER_02: We were trying to listen to the radio, figure it out.
• 1:25:01
SPEAKER_02: You know, like the internet wasn't really like a thing thing back then.
• 1:25:05
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:25:06
SPEAKER_02: So we had to, you know, be like the Stone Age.
• 1:25:08
SPEAKER_02: You had to turn on the radio and hope that they talked about it.
• 1:25:11
SPEAKER_02: And and then finally, like when we got to her job, they had a TV, so we put on the news and we're just like, whatever.
• 1:25:18
SPEAKER_02: And then finally they're like, okay, they're starting to resume train service.
• 1:25:25
SPEAKER_02: And we were like, that's it.
• 1:25:27
SPEAKER_02: We need to get on that train.
• 1:25:29
SPEAKER_02: We left, we got on the train, and you've been to New York, so I'm sure that you can understand.
• 1:25:36
SPEAKER_02: You get on a train, people hog the doors, they don't want to let you in.
• 1:25:39
SPEAKER_02: It's like you can't even get in or out because people are like, I'm not moving.
• 1:25:44
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I have to tell you, on that day, I have never seen a train more packed.
• 1:25:50
SPEAKER_02: But not just that, it was like we don't know when the next train is gonna come.
• 1:25:56
SPEAKER_02: And everyone is like, come on, come on, come on, let make room to people, make room.
• 1:26:01
SPEAKER_02: And if that is not the essence of fucking New York, I don't know what is because the next day they would have been like, fuck you, wait for the next one.
• 1:26:10
SPEAKER_02: That day it was like, no, no, they're getting on the train, everybody is getting on this fucking train.
• 1:26:14
SPEAKER_02: Like, we're we're getting out of here.
• 1:26:17
SPEAKER_02: And it's like, yeah, that sums it up.
• 1:26:21
SPEAKER_02: Everyone's getting on the train.
• 1:26:23
  SPEAKER_02: But you're right though.
• 1:26:25
SPEAKER_02: I mean, everyone right after that was very unified.
• 1:26:30
SPEAKER_02: Everyone came together, and it was it's a shame that we can't be like that more often, but without you know, thousands of deaths happening.
• 1:26:39
  SPEAKER_00: That would be nice.
• 1:26:40
SPEAKER_00: That's the well, and I think even COVID shows, I mean, because there were millions of people, and there were still people that are like, COVID's not real, you know what I'm saying?
• 1:26:49
SPEAKER_00: And people were so evil doing COVID.
• 1:26:51
SPEAKER_09: I mean, there was a lot of people that was like, Let's be mindful, but most people really didn't give a fuck.
• 1:26:57
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:26:58
SPEAKER_09: And then I have my theories on why that happened, but we're not gonna get into that.
• 1:27:00
  SPEAKER_09: We're not a political show.
• 1:27:02
SPEAKER_00: It's also okay, but uh, I will say that it's I'm working on jail time here, apparently.
• 1:27:09
SPEAKER_00: You're working on jail time, but I will say that it is kind of crazy that they had a show with a character like Saeed, but and they I mean, now granted it was his arc towards the end, but I mean they gave him something, and I feel like they gave him the least, well, maybe the least out of all the men, because at least at Hurley at the very end, you're like, oh shit, yeah, this makes perfect sense that Hurley's the protector.
• 1:27:34
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh, I think with the women, almost all of them, they did dirty.
• 1:27:39
SPEAKER_00: And I even think Juliet at the end, um, but I do get where they were like, um, just like spoiler alert to Sons of Anarchy fans, at the at the end of each when there's a show for the final season, you might not want the female main character there.
• 1:27:55
SPEAKER_00: That way the male main character can really have some growth.
• 1:27:58
SPEAKER_00: Um, so I do think that's probably why they got rid of Juliet.
• 1:28:03
SPEAKER_00: Um, and also to have this albatross on Jack's neck to be like, you know, oh my god, I killed Juliet for nothing.
• 1:28:11
SPEAKER_09: And I think that death made sense for the whole, like it was a pivotal point.
• 1:28:15
SPEAKER_09: So I'm not really mad at it.
• 1:28:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:28:17
SPEAKER_02: It was I'm not happy that she died.
• 1:28:19
SPEAKER_02: I'm not happy that she's died, but it makes sense.
• 1:28:23
  SPEAKER_02: I can accept it.
• 1:28:24
SPEAKER_02: It was important for the rest of the world.
• 1:28:25
SPEAKER_09: Of the show, as opposed to just like I don't know what to do with you, or goodbye, or here's a side note writing for you.
• 1:28:30
SPEAKER_09: Like Juliet in her death scene, it was she was thankfully was giving something important to do.
• 1:28:36
  SPEAKER_09: Thank God.
• 1:28:36
SPEAKER_09: Yes, give one woman an important role.
• 1:28:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, exactly.
• 1:28:40
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
• 1:28:41
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:28:42
SPEAKER_02: So I mean but I love that her character was not dependent on another, and especially not a man.
• 1:28:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:28:53
  SPEAKER_07: She was dependent on.
• 1:28:54
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:28:55
SPEAKER_02: I feel like she always held her own, whether it was with Ben or Kate or Jack or Sawyer or you know, just whoever.
• 1:29:04
SPEAKER_02: Like she just was Juliet and her relationship depended on who she was with, but she was still always on her own two feet.
• 1:29:16
SPEAKER_02: And I feel like a lot of the other characters didn't get as much of that.
• 1:29:22
SPEAKER_02: And I guess when you go back to Kate, it's like, my God, Kate's whole story was like is she going after Jack?
• 1:29:30
SPEAKER_02: Is she chasing after Sawyer?
• 1:29:32
SPEAKER_02: Is she pretending to be Aaron's mom?
• 1:29:35
SPEAKER_02: It was always contingent on another character.
• 1:29:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, yes.
• 1:29:41
  unknown: Yeah.
• 1:29:41
SPEAKER_02: And even son was kind of pigeonholed like that because many of her flashbacks were shared with Jin.
• 1:29:51
  unknown: Yeah.
• 1:29:51
SPEAKER_02: And then it was always like her relationship to her father or her husband.
• 1:29:57
SPEAKER_00: And it's like or the her affair partner.
• 1:30:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it wasn't her.
• 1:30:02
  SPEAKER_00: Right.
• 1:30:02
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:30:03
SPEAKER_00: And and even with her being a candidate, it wasn't Sun Quan, it was just Kwan.
• 1:30:09
SPEAKER_00: So they were, I believe that they were even seen as seen as one entity.
• 1:30:13
SPEAKER_00: So now and he touched them both at the wedding.
• 1:30:16
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 1:30:17
  SPEAKER_00: So that wasn't even a clue.
• 1:30:19
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:30:19
SPEAKER_00: So now I will say that does also kind of Jen didn't have that much.
• 1:30:24
SPEAKER_00: So he was almost a stereotypical, you know, Okuza, you know, you know, Asian gangster dude.
• 1:30:32
SPEAKER_00: But uh he did at least have, I think when he got to be in the 70s away from Sun, you know, granted, obviously once he found out she was there, he's like, holy shit, we gotta get to her.
• 1:30:42
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, I thought he did get a good arc, but they never really gave that.
• 1:30:47
SPEAKER_00: Sun was only full full of vengeance, right?
• 1:30:51
SPEAKER_02: It's like their arc is their arc.
• 1:30:55
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's yeah, it's together.
• 1:30:58
  SPEAKER_04: Well, you know what?
• 1:30:59
  SPEAKER_09: I don't mind that so much.
• 1:31:01
SPEAKER_09: If you if if you go in with the attention, the intention from the beginning is that they are one.
• 1:31:08
SPEAKER_09: She I don't think she was a side note just because she's a woman.
• 1:31:11
SPEAKER_09: I think everything their intention was to be as one, was written as a chin on the walk together.
• 1:31:20
  SPEAKER_09: That's so much I don't mind so much.
• 1:31:23
SPEAKER_09: I can I can agree with that.
• 1:31:25
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:31:25
SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I think you're probably pretty right.
• 1:31:27
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:31:28
SPEAKER_02: So I got one right.
• 1:31:29
  SPEAKER_02: Woo-hoo! Yeah.
• 1:31:30
SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, because right, like at the beginning of the show, she's she's ready to leave him.
• 1:31:37
SPEAKER_02: She's she doesn't even tell him that she speaks English.
• 1:31:40
  SPEAKER_05: I know.
• 1:31:41
SPEAKER_02: He's not like abusive, but he's very closed off to her.
• 1:31:45
SPEAKER_09: He's not the same person he was when she married him.
• 1:31:48
  SPEAKER_09: Her father changed him.
• 1:31:49
SPEAKER_09: And you kind of forgive him for being who he is because he was doing fluence, doing it for her to be with him.
• 1:31:59
  SPEAKER_09: Right.
• 1:31:59
SPEAKER_09: And then look at what happened.
• 1:32:01
SPEAKER_09: But the moment he was away from that life and he was able to like, wait, I gotta come back.
• 1:32:08
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he came back to who he was.
• 1:32:10
SPEAKER_09: So, you know, yes, so yeah, and I think they they'll grow together was a beautiful thing, and I think that's why they both were candidates, Kwan.
• 1:32:19
SPEAKER_09: Okay, because they couldn't do it alone, yeah, yeah.
• 1:32:21
SPEAKER_09: But he does it alone, no one does it alone, but they were like they were just like, you know, they really couldn't do it alone.
• 1:32:27
SPEAKER_00: They were all the ultimate codependent, yeah.
• 1:32:29
SPEAKER_00: Legit, legit, they would die together.
• 1:32:32
SPEAKER_00: Like, I know the ultimate, I mean, talk about ride or die.
• 1:32:34
SPEAKER_00: I will literally, I'm going down with you 100%, bitch.
• 1:32:37
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like but this I should love.
• 1:32:41
SPEAKER_09: Can we go get some food?
• 1:32:42
SPEAKER_02: Like exactly under that railing.
• 1:32:46
  SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, but I'm not bitch.
• 1:32:48
  SPEAKER_10: Go watch my babies.
• 1:32:48
  SPEAKER_02: I was sitting.
• 1:32:50
  SPEAKER_10: I'm not staying.
• 1:32:50
  SPEAKER_10: I'm sorry.
• 1:32:51
SPEAKER_09: I would actually be pissed as if a loved one of mine, if I'm stuck there and if one of my loved ones was with me, my Bessie, or of a significant other, I have a daughter and grandchildren.
• 1:33:06
  SPEAKER_09: Go go, yeah.
• 1:33:08
  SPEAKER_09: No, fuck me.
• 1:33:09
  SPEAKER_09: I'm dying.
• 1:33:10
  SPEAKER_09: There's nothing I can do dying.
• 1:33:12
SPEAKER_09: Take care of my family.
• 1:33:13
  SPEAKER_09: What the hell?
• 1:33:13
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:33:14
SPEAKER_09: And I swear to God, I will haunt you until the day I will haunt you in the afterlife if you don't do what I say.
• 1:33:20
  SPEAKER_02: I come back kids.
• 1:33:22
SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, it's a little bit different, you know.
• 1:33:25
SPEAKER_02: Obviously, like not in a situation where they're not going to be able to do that.
• 1:33:31
SPEAKER_02: So you need somebody to watch that.
• 1:33:35
SPEAKER_02: And I tell this to to whoever, especially my kids.
• 1:33:41
SPEAKER_02: But your life is your life.
• 1:33:45
SPEAKER_02: And if I die, because again, I haven't decided if I'm going to yet, but if I do, don't stop your life for me.
• 1:33:58
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:33:59
SPEAKER_02: Because you can't get that back, and I'll still be dead.
• 1:34:02
  SPEAKER_02: Don't cut a trip short.
• 1:34:04
  SPEAKER_02: Don't stop your education.
• 1:34:06
  SPEAKER_02: Don't whatever it is, I will I'm dead.
• 1:34:11
  SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
• 1:34:11
SPEAKER_02: Like you you have to have to still live your life.
• 1:34:17
  SPEAKER_02: Don't stop for me.
• 1:34:19
  SPEAKER_02: I'll be dead.
• 1:34:20
  SPEAKER_02: I'll still be dead.
• 1:34:21
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not going anywhere.
• 1:34:22
SPEAKER_02: I'll haunt you if you do.
• 1:34:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:34:26
SPEAKER_00: That's why I do agree with you, ladies, and that's why I only the only person that I think that if I was caught, I mean, we don't even have children.
• 1:34:34
SPEAKER_00: I would still tell my husband, go, go.
• 1:34:35
SPEAKER_00: I mean, he does have dreams of Beyonce one day.
• 1:34:38
  SPEAKER_00: So who knows?
• 1:34:39
  SPEAKER_00: Maybe he'll meet Beyonce.
• 1:34:40
  SPEAKER_00: There you go.
• 1:34:41
SPEAKER_00: I could only one could only hope he could have a second love.
• 1:34:44
SPEAKER_00: But uh, if it was my mother and she was she was not caught, and I would I would feel bad not to be like, oh, my mother's life only has meaning because of me.
• 1:34:55
SPEAKER_00: But I would maybe want my mom, I gotta be honest.
• 1:34:58
SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, oh mommy, just stay at least until stay with me, mommy.
• 1:35:02
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:35:02
SPEAKER_00: I might be like, stay with me, mommy.
• 1:35:04
SPEAKER_00: But uh, but I think with pretty much everyone, I would be like, go on.
• 1:35:08
SPEAKER_00: And my mom does like to ride motorcycles, so I'd be like, go ride your motorcycle, mom.
• 1:35:11
SPEAKER_00: But uh give me a give me a lot of things.
• 1:35:13
SPEAKER_02: The thought of driving alone is scary, of course.
• 1:35:16
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but uh I do I do see with the whole kid thing, and it does make sense.
• 1:35:22
SPEAKER_00: I mean, go, even though he had never met her, she was still young.
• 1:35:26
SPEAKER_00: She was still young, yeah.
• 1:35:27
  SPEAKER_00: I don't remember, yeah.
• 1:35:29
SPEAKER_00: The oldest this baby could have been would have been four.
• 1:35:32
SPEAKER_00: And I don't I remember being hospitalized for an asthma attack at that age, but that was a traumatic event.
• 1:35:37
SPEAKER_00: So she might remember, oh, my mommy was here and then she wasn't, but she wouldn't.
• 1:35:41
SPEAKER_00: I mean, she had no visual perception of them of her mother passing away.
• 1:35:45
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, from a psychological standpoint, you could have showed your picture, your kid pictures and been like, oh, look, and this is you and your dad at Disney, and in five years, when you ask your kid something, they'll be like, Yeah, no, no.
• 1:36:00
SPEAKER_02: When I went to Disney with my dad, you can manufacture memories.
• 1:36:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I'm not I'm not saying let's do that.
• 1:36:07
  SPEAKER_02: I am saying it's possible.
• 1:36:09
SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, because when my kids were little, yeah, I wanted to take pictures and be like, look, this is from when we went to Disney, so that they thought I was a better parent and not when I couldn't afford to take them to Disney.
• 1:36:19
  SPEAKER_02: So I didn't do that.
• 1:36:20
SPEAKER_09: But I feel that's like there was a lot of options for I mean, yes, they had to go together.
• 1:36:26
SPEAKER_00: But I mean it definitely, it definitely gave like pulled it out of me.
• 1:36:32
SPEAKER_00: Um that's uh we'll say no matter how many times I watched that episode, Juliet's death, or in the episode what Kate Does, when Kate follows Sawyer out to the end of the dock, and Sawyer is crying, and he's like, Juliet's not dead because of you, or Jack Juliet's dead because of me.
• 1:36:47
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 1:36:48
SPEAKER_00: That yeah, Sawyer, because I have I'm a big fan of that ship of uh Sawyer and Juliet.
• 1:36:55
SPEAKER_02: And they're really good together.
• 1:36:58
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but Elizabeth Mitchell said, who plays Juliet, she said that they were both really nervous because they were like, Oh shit, we haven't even played it as if we have any interest in each other.
• 1:37:07
SPEAKER_00: And she had said the only reason it works is because Josh Holloway is such a good actor.
• 1:37:12
SPEAKER_00: She's like, I was able to act off of him.
• 1:37:14
SPEAKER_00: She's like, but he brought it every single time.
• 1:37:17
SPEAKER_00: And she said apparently at most certainly in the death episode, she's like, he cried every single time.
• 1:37:24
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, This man had endless tears.
• 1:37:26
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, damn.
• 1:37:28
SPEAKER_00: So um, so with everything.
• 1:37:30
SPEAKER_09: It also looks just as sexy, if not sexier in 2024.
• 1:37:34
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, that's why I'm telling you, that's why you should watch the documentary because he's got a cowboy hat, he looks great.
• 1:37:40
SPEAKER_00: Um, I've seen the stills.
• 1:37:42
  SPEAKER_00: I've seen the stills.
• 1:37:43
SPEAKER_09: I was watching um, there was something on YouTube that was looking for those things, and it was like, oh, the cast then and now.
• 1:37:50
SPEAKER_09: And it was like, just pick just pictures.
• 1:37:52
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:37:53
SPEAKER_09: And then of them like 20 years later, I'm like, oh.
• 1:37:57
SPEAKER_10: You were real hard up for Jack, right?
• 1:38:00
  SPEAKER_10: Oh me.
• 1:38:01
SPEAKER_10: Oh sorry, I have to leave now.
• 1:38:03
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I have to go, I have to go walk my cat.
• 1:38:11
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
• 1:38:12
SPEAKER_09: Or like find them with like um polar bear food.
• 1:38:14
SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, like the fish fisted on you.
• 1:38:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 1:38:19
SPEAKER_02: No, I think and I think Agnes and I have discussed this, but like the relationship of Sawyer and Juliet definitely worked because Sawyer wasn't a character that pandered.
• 1:38:36
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:38:36
  SPEAKER_02: And neither was Juliet.
• 1:38:37
SPEAKER_02: But Juliet was Juliet, she held her own.
• 1:38:42
SPEAKER_02: She whatever your energy was, she matched it.
• 1:38:45
SPEAKER_02: And for a character like Sawyer, who was very like, I'll protect you, I'm just not gonna tell you that I'm gonna do it, I'm just gonna handle my business.
• 1:38:55
SPEAKER_02: Uh they worked because neither of them were needy, whereas Jack But they were both very giving towards the one that they loved, so it worked perfectly.
• 1:39:06
  SPEAKER_09: Yes.
• 1:39:07
SPEAKER_02: Whereas Jack and Kate should have been a couple that worked because Kate did need a little bit of hand holding sometimes, even though she pretended like she didn't.
• 1:39:19
  SPEAKER_02: So did Jack.
• 1:39:22
SPEAKER_02: Jack couldn't let shit go.
• 1:39:26
SPEAKER_02: So then she could never be independent.
• 1:39:29
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 1:39:30
SPEAKER_02: And and as we've seen in the scene where she went to meet, well, you don't know it at the time, but she went to meet Cassidy, and Jack was like, but where were you?
• 1:39:38
SPEAKER_02: And why was there a babysitter?
• 1:39:39
SPEAKER_02: And what were you doing?
• 1:39:40
SPEAKER_02: It's like shut the fuck up.
• 1:39:42
  SPEAKER_09: Like, my god.
• 1:39:43
SPEAKER_09: Someone get him an Ada van, like quick.
• 1:39:45
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, exactly.
• 1:39:46
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:39:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:39:48
SPEAKER_00: Because it's not even like it's not even like uh, do you think I'm cheating?
• 1:39:52
  SPEAKER_00: Like, what is it?
• 1:39:53
  SPEAKER_00: Like, what is it?
• 1:39:54
SPEAKER_00: He just needs to he just need to be in every you can't have a single FOMO.
• 1:39:59
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, right.
• 1:40:00
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, the old five.
• 1:40:01
SPEAKER_09: You can't think of shit without him wanting to know.
• 1:40:03
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:40:04
  SPEAKER_02: Oh god, yeah.
• 1:40:05
SPEAKER_02: The other episode that gets me is greatest hits.
• 1:40:10
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 1:40:11
SPEAKER_02: I am not a huge like Charlie fan.
• 1:40:13
SPEAKER_02: I mean, in the the course of the characters, he's fine.
• 1:40:16
SPEAKER_02: He's there, he's no dislike, but he's just yeah.
• 1:40:22
SPEAKER_02: But that episode, oh my god.
• 1:40:25
SPEAKER_09: I remember your reaction to that one.
• 1:40:26
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I I think it also hits better or hits deeper the second time around, because then you know because it the first time you watch it, you're like, oh, he thinks this is his last time speaking with Claire.
• 1:40:36
SPEAKER_00: And essentially what he I mean, like he basically made a nuclear family on the island, essentially.
• 1:40:42
SPEAKER_00: So he's like basically leaving his wife and child in his from his perspective.
• 1:40:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:40:47
SPEAKER_00: Even though every now and then she'd been like, pump the braids, dude, like this is still my child, shut the fuck up.
• 1:40:52
SPEAKER_00: Um it's just so funny when he's like, You woke the baby, and I'd be like, That's her baby, she can do whatever the fuck she wants.
• 1:40:58
SPEAKER_00: But uh I was like, She can take that baby joy riding, but anyway, um But it was so sweet, like watching it.
• 1:41:04
SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh yeah, and then when he leaves the ring, and then you know that she never ever finds that ring.
• 1:41:10
SPEAKER_00: And then even uh later when she finds it.
• 1:41:13
  SPEAKER_00: It's Sun.
• 1:41:14
  SPEAKER_00: Sons, right?
• 1:41:15
SPEAKER_00: Okay, and then she flashes back to remembering when uh she and Jen got married and they were exchanging rings.
• 1:41:21
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:41:21
SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, but I mean Claire essentially becomes Rousseau 2.0 and loses her man almost the same way as Rousseau had lost her man.
• 1:41:30
SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, Rousseau had killed her man, but you know, her man like she she wasn't her right mind.
• 1:41:35
SPEAKER_00: I mean, well, she had to.
• 1:41:37
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and he had been taken by the island, he was infected.
• 1:41:40
SPEAKER_00: So basically Charlie sacrificed himself, and um it was one of those things that you know it took a while for Claire to be to Claire to reap those benefits for Claire to reap those benefits, but I would agree it is sad.
• 1:41:55
SPEAKER_00: Um, and also I think his might be the most selfless um death.
• 1:42:00
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, because he it was intentional, like he knew what he was doing.
• 1:42:05
SPEAKER_09: It was a conscious decision for him to save a day, not save a day, but to put people in a position to be saved.
• 1:42:13
  SPEAKER_09: It was yeah, yeah, I can't.
• 1:42:15
SPEAKER_00: And even and even when Desmond was like, hey, I can do it, and he's like, Yeah, whatever, Desmond, and then he knocks Desmond out.
• 1:42:21
SPEAKER_00: Although, honestly, for me, whenever someone does that, I'm like, what if you do it too hard and you kill your buddy?
• 1:42:25
SPEAKER_00: You're just trying to knock your buddy out, and then he doesn't even know.
• 1:42:28
SPEAKER_00: But anyway, but uh, but yeah, I mean, it's really oh, but I was definitely that final.
• 1:42:36
SPEAKER_00: I think that might be my favorite finale was through the looking glass where it's Charlie and he drowns, and then at the end where you're like, we gotta go back.
• 1:42:43
SPEAKER_00: I mean, talk about a mind false.
• 1:42:47
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:42:48
SPEAKER_02: Even Acne was like, wait, I like this now.
• 1:42:53
SPEAKER_01: Maybe maybe I will come back.
• 1:42:54
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but um and I came back two years later.
• 1:42:58
SPEAKER_00: You're like, let me put a pause on this, but I will return.
• 1:43:00
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, yeah, but uh yeah, I mean, it's really that was very, very interesting and unlike anything I'd seen before.
• 1:43:08
SPEAKER_00: Um and again, since I didn't own a computer, I know some people had gotten uh spoiled on that, but I didn't know about that.
• 1:43:15
SPEAKER_02: Or later, um I think it's I yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:43:19
SPEAKER_00: But also honestly, when I did go on the computer, I was just trying to find out what my exes were doing.
• 1:43:23
SPEAKER_00: I wasn't trying to find out, yeah.
• 1:43:26
SPEAKER_00: I was just like stuck in my ex's social media.
• 1:43:28
SPEAKER_00: I was definitely not trying to uh yeah, do any kind of or crochet patterns because I crochet, but uh crochet, yeah.
• 1:43:36
  SPEAKER_00: It's been a minute because now I can't I can't follow a pattern though.
• 1:43:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm when I do it comes out perfect, but I really gotta zone in.
• 1:43:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:43:44
SPEAKER_02: My goal too is cross-stitching.
• 1:43:47
SPEAKER_00: Oh wow, ooh, that's even harder though.
• 1:43:49
  SPEAKER_00: Jeez elite.
• 1:43:50
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's still therapeutic.
• 1:43:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:43:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:43:56
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you just be, oh yeah, that's that's just more tasty than yarn.
• 1:44:01
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:44:05
SPEAKER_02: So when we were recording for Kevin Johnson, I don't know, Agnes, if you remember this.
• 1:44:11
  SPEAKER_02: Probably not.
• 1:44:12
SPEAKER_02: But I was joking with you, and we were calling you Nostradamus.
• 1:44:17
  SPEAKER_06: I remember Nostra, I remember that, but I don't know why.
• 1:44:20
SPEAKER_02: So, because there was an incident that happened to you in real life where you were driving.
• 1:44:27
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 1:44:28
  SPEAKER_02: Do you remember?
• 1:44:30
  SPEAKER_07: Yes.
• 1:44:31
  SPEAKER_07: Okay, so go ahead.
• 1:44:32
SPEAKER_07: Say, say what it was.
• 1:44:33
SPEAKER_07: Okay, so I'm if I think this is one okay.
• 1:44:36
SPEAKER_09: So I'm driving down the street, I'm going to my daughter's house, and it's the accident just happened.
• 1:44:44
SPEAKER_09: Um, the cops hadn't like no one has been called.
• 1:44:48
SPEAKER_09: I think they might have been called, but no one's no one was on scene yet.
• 1:44:51
SPEAKER_09: But so we I see the woman out on the street.
• 1:44:54
SPEAKER_09: I got the answer for you, by the way, as to why I didn't.
• 1:44:57
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, okay.
• 1:44:58
SPEAKER_09: And I was just like, oh shit.
• 1:45:00
SPEAKER_09: So I kept on passing and coming home, I knew that happened, so I went another way and the amlets were there, whatever.
• 1:45:08
SPEAKER_09: So we have a Facebook group that pretty much just if it's I guess they read the scanner or whatever and they throw it on Facebook.
• 1:45:18
SPEAKER_09: This accident was never posted.
• 1:45:22
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, okay, let me try the other scanner group.
• 1:45:26
  SPEAKER_09: Never posted.
• 1:45:29
SPEAKER_09: I was like, Yeah, there were several cars that went about it, you know.
• 1:45:34
SPEAKER_09: Um now I I remember the situation, but I don't remember why you're making fun of me.
• 1:45:39
SPEAKER_02: So I was making fun of you because then didn't you say that it happened like in front of a church?
• 1:45:45
SPEAKER_09: It happened in front of a church, yeah.
• 1:45:46
SPEAKER_02: So I just thought it was funny because now I could tell you that maybe that was your flash sideways because you saw what was gonna happen.
• 1:45:56
SPEAKER_02: Because remember, we were joking and we were like, but maybe it didn't happen yet because you didn't find out until later like what happened.
• 1:46:02
SPEAKER_02: So I was like, maybe because you were like, oh, but the traffic wasn't even like reacting.
• 1:46:07
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, but maybe it didn't happen yet.
• 1:46:09
SPEAKER_02: Maybe it was like you flash sideways, and it happened to me.
• 1:46:13
SPEAKER_06: That's why it flashed sideways.
• 1:46:15
SPEAKER_09: You're so funny, to be honest.
• 1:46:17
SPEAKER_09: Now when I came back home, you could see the cops and the things are starting to be blocked off anyway.
• 1:46:22
SPEAKER_09: But apparently those scanner groups don't put everything out there, they don't put down like yeah, they just they missed the they drop the ball, they don't always put all the stuff out there.
• 1:46:30
SPEAKER_02: And I like and I was goofing with you in the episode, and I was like, oh, it was a church, and it was like, and it's because it was kind of like reminiscent of the finale, but obviously you have a way of knowing that.
• 1:46:41
SPEAKER_09: Now I get you making fun of me.
• 1:46:44
SPEAKER_02: I was like, oh, you're not gonna be able to do that.
• 1:46:45
SPEAKER_09: But I know things, I do know, like it's funny.
• 1:46:48
SPEAKER_02: My family You drink and you know things?
• 1:46:50
SPEAKER_09: I drink and I know things, boy.
• 1:46:52
SPEAKER_09: My mother, who was like typical, I'm gonna do it my way, no one else's opinion makes a difference.
• 1:46:57
SPEAKER_09: I'm right, we're gonna do it this way.
• 1:47:00
SPEAKER_09: Every so often there'll be I don't know, a family issue or family problem, and she would ask me, like, what are we doing with it?
• 1:47:08
SPEAKER_09: Like, she would ask, like, is this something we need to worry about?
• 1:47:10
SPEAKER_09: And I'm like, either yes or no.
• 1:47:13
SPEAKER_09: And unfortunately, or fortunately, I've never been wrong.
• 1:47:17
SPEAKER_09: Like, I don't know everything, but once I know something, it's anyway.
• 1:47:22
SPEAKER_09: So that's the yeah, we come from a long line of witches or bitches or bitches, or whatever.
• 1:47:28
SPEAKER_09: It depends how you look at it.
• 1:47:29
SPEAKER_09: So, yes, I drink and I know things, and I probably know things because I drink.
• 1:47:37
  SPEAKER_01: So silly.
• 1:47:39
  SPEAKER_01: That's that is honestly.
• 1:47:42
SPEAKER_01: Like now when you mentioned the notion, I kind of got the chills.
• 1:47:45
  SPEAKER_01: I hate you, Lisa.
• 1:47:46
SPEAKER_00: It was funny listening to the podcast and how you pick up certain things.
• 1:47:50
SPEAKER_00: Like it was pretty early on where you were like the flash sideways, you're like, they're dead, they're dead.
• 1:47:55
SPEAKER_09: And I was like, oh that was just so obvious, though.
• 1:47:57
SPEAKER_09: I think it was obvious.
• 1:47:58
SPEAKER_09: Like everyone, like everyone had that growth moment and that like everyone had a chance to fix what they had to do.
• 1:48:04
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, I don't know, dead, purgatory, whatever.
• 1:48:07
SPEAKER_09: This is what that is.
• 1:48:08
SPEAKER_09: I don't know about the island, but someone's fucking dead.
• 1:48:11
SPEAKER_09: It was kind of obvious though, I think.
• 1:48:13
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:48:13
SPEAKER_02: That was a big theory for the whole show, though, because it honestly it made the most sense.
• 1:48:19
SPEAKER_02: If you said, Oh, they were dead the whole time.
• 1:48:21
SPEAKER_02: It made sense, which is why everybody was.
• 1:48:24
SPEAKER_09: I am so glad I was wrong about the island.
• 1:48:27
SPEAKER_09: I'm glad that they weren't dead the whole time.
• 1:48:29
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:48:30
SPEAKER_09: That made me feel so I watched the episode, right?
• 1:48:34
SPEAKER_09: Before we can um actually record, like and the whole night I couldn't sleep.
• 1:48:41
SPEAKER_09: I was dreaming about that.
• 1:48:42
SPEAKER_09: Like I was like in and out of consciousness.
• 1:48:44
SPEAKER_09: And my like when I was half a like and I kept thinking about the episode and like how I'm gonna talk to Lisa about it.
• 1:48:50
SPEAKER_09: So the whole night dreamt or half dreamt about this damn seas series finale.
• 1:48:56
  SPEAKER_09: Fucking Lisa.
• 1:48:58
SPEAKER_09: But at the you know, I'll I'm glad that like island happened, and I'm like, okay, that kind of just like like Tetris, it fell into place, yeah.
• 1:49:09
SPEAKER_09: And I was like, oh, I can sleep now, like everything is so much better now.
• 1:49:14
SPEAKER_09: I legit have no more questions.
• 1:49:16
SPEAKER_09: Even the other one answered the polar bear.
• 1:49:18
SPEAKER_09: I was like, yeah, polar bears have been answered.
• 1:49:21
  SPEAKER_07: Yes, I have questions.
• 1:49:23
SPEAKER_07: Of course you do, Lisa.
• 1:49:24
SPEAKER_02: But these are like hypothetical questions, of course you do.
• 1:49:28
SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna ask them.
• 1:49:31
SPEAKER_02: Frank was supposed to be the original pilot.
• 1:49:33
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 1:49:34
SPEAKER_02: What do you think would have happened if he uh actually did uh fly the first plane, the A15?
• 1:49:42
SPEAKER_02: In my opinion, yours and Melissa's.
• 1:49:45
SPEAKER_09: Um I I don't think he was meant to fly it.
• 1:49:50
SPEAKER_09: I think it yes, he was the original, he was also being, but he didn't fly it for a reason.
• 1:49:55
SPEAKER_09: He wasn't meant to be on that plane at that moment.
• 1:49:58
SPEAKER_09: And to this day, things happen the way they're supposed to happen.
• 1:50:03
SPEAKER_09: So I don't think it could like I can't imagine him even if he was there, there'd be no that the show would uh it wouldn't it just wouldn't have happened because it wasn't meant to be.
• 1:50:14
SPEAKER_09: He was meant to be where he was.
• 1:50:17
  SPEAKER_00: What about you?
• 1:50:18
SPEAKER_00: Do you think I I I actually kind of agree with Agnes that whatever happened was what was supposed to happen.
• 1:50:25
SPEAKER_00: Um and I do think if anything, it would have happened almost the same where the pilot where he didn't die.
• 1:50:34
SPEAKER_00: But also I think um because it wasn't at first when Sawyer and Kate are taken over to Hydra Island and they're building that runway.
• 1:50:42
SPEAKER_00: I was like, what the fuck is this even for?
• 1:50:44
SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't until the plane landed that I was like, oh shit, and I realized it was on Hydra Island.
• 1:50:48
SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh my god, talk about the Long Con.
• 1:50:51
SPEAKER_00: Um where I was like, they were building that, and that's also why I think um, I mean, it was all it was all meant to happen, and not only from a writerly perspective where it's like, oh well, I wrote it, so it's meant to happen that way, but also because um they needed to not be able to get off that island, and not only because the plane was so broken, but because they had no pilot.
• 1:51:12
SPEAKER_00: So even if that one uh the beach craft that had fallen on Boone, if they had a pilot, theoretically they could have fixed that and tried to get off the island or tried to get off.
• 1:51:22
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 1:51:23
SPEAKER_09: And then having him survive and then watch the finding of the bodies, and then like that's part of so he never would have seen that, and he would never would have been on the freight, like he never would have been in a position to come back to to help them, like yes, yeah.
• 1:51:41
  SPEAKER_02: I I feel like I'm somewhere in between.
• 1:51:44
SPEAKER_02: Like had Frank flown the original plane, I don't think they would have killed him off.
• 1:51:53
SPEAKER_02: But I just feel like it wouldn't have made sense for the show.
• 1:51:57
SPEAKER_02: So I think that it's like yeah, that everything happens for a reason kind of excuse, and yeah, oversleeping was the was the I mean it just is so silly though.
• 1:52:10
SPEAKER_00: But I mean they could have had, but then again, they could have had a character that was a pilot the whole time.
• 1:52:15
SPEAKER_00: I mean, Jack had taken some pilot lessons, so um, or piloting lessons, but yeah, it was uh also just Kizmet that when they were flying in 316 back to the island, that that was just the added layer of like, oh, of course Lapidas is flying the plane.
• 1:52:32
SPEAKER_00: Um, but also I think it was Lapidas was almost a joke that the writers kind of made for themselves that he was indestructible because like even when that submarine door hit him, he didn't die.
• 1:52:42
  SPEAKER_00: Right, you know.
• 1:52:43
SPEAKER_02: Um, I think that if if he had flown it, I don't I definitely don't think that he would have died.
• 1:52:49
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 1:52:50
SPEAKER_02: I don't think they would have killed him off.
• 1:52:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:52:52
SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure they would have been like, oh, well, Jacob needed him, or the island needed him, or the island wasn't done with him, or whatever.
• 1:52:57
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, but also I think the funniest line in the whole show is when they're burying John Locke, and Ben is giving the eulogy, and Ben is like, Yeah, I'm so sorry I killed you, and Lapitas is like fucking weirdest funeral I've ever been to.
• 1:53:11
SPEAKER_00: He's like, What the hell is and I was like, Lapitas, you are a hundred percent, you know.
• 1:53:16
SPEAKER_00: If Hurley couldn't be the protector, it should have been Lapitas because Lapitas would have been like margarita time, all it would have been, he would have been like, where are the it would have been a Margaretaville on the island?
• 1:53:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, it would have been kick your feet up, yeah.
• 1:53:30
  SPEAKER_00: That's that's all be one, kumbaya.
• 1:53:33
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I definitely would have visited Lapidas.
• 1:53:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that would have been a real fun island and just hilarious, and yeah, oh my gosh.
• 1:53:44
SPEAKER_00: But uh, and plus Vincent would still be there, yeah.
• 1:53:46
SPEAKER_09: And that is not as dangerous because you don't have the smoke monster anymore trying to kill you.
• 1:53:50
  SPEAKER_09: Exactly 100%.
• 1:53:52
SPEAKER_09: Like you don't have all this shit happening going on.
• 1:53:55
SPEAKER_09: I feel like you have the like you have the voices, it's like, okay, fine, voice number one, step up.
• 1:54:01
SPEAKER_09: How can I help you?
• 1:54:02
SPEAKER_09: You know, what are we gonna do to help you move on?
• 1:54:05
SPEAKER_03: Yes, you're gonna be able to do it.
• 1:54:06
  SPEAKER_09: Voice number two.
• 1:54:07
SPEAKER_09: I think I just like my only thing that question about what someone needs to do, like a a YouTube video or cartoon or something about island life with Hurley and Ben.
• 1:54:19
SPEAKER_02: Okay, what did the protectors if only we knew a writer who loves the show?
• 1:54:27
  SPEAKER_02: Uh-oh.
• 1:54:28
  SPEAKER_02: Fanfic in the works.
• 1:54:30
  SPEAKER_02: I guess.
• 1:54:31
SPEAKER_02: Oh you know, do you know do you know where we could find one?
• 1:54:34
SPEAKER_00: You know somebody well, not a graphic artist, but I think maybe I could come up with something.
• 1:54:40
SPEAKER_00: But but yeah, I am also working on another novel.
• 1:54:44
  SPEAKER_06: I might know a graphic artist.
• 1:54:46
  SPEAKER_06: Oh uh spin-off.
• 1:54:50
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you know what?
• 1:54:51
  SPEAKER_07: We got a plan.
• 1:54:52
SPEAKER_07: Uh um, just just call me Hannibal.
• 1:54:54
SPEAKER_07: I love when the plan comes together.
• 1:54:58
  unknown: Okay.
• 1:54:59
  SPEAKER_09: I'm sorry.
• 1:55:00
SPEAKER_09: I just had like a like what I want to see.
• 1:55:02
SPEAKER_09: Here comes Lisa putting you to work.
• 1:55:04
SPEAKER_09: Now you know how I feel every single day.
• 1:55:08
SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm glad I'm glad she put you to work, honestly, selfishly.
• 1:55:11
  SPEAKER_00: I'm very glad.
• 1:55:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 1:55:13
SPEAKER_07: Oh, I like being I like the fact that you're selfish.
• 1:55:15
  SPEAKER_07: It's fine.
• 1:55:15
  SPEAKER_07: It's what it's great.
• 1:55:16
  SPEAKER_06: I'm fine, you're good, it's it works.
• 1:55:18
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 1:55:19
  SPEAKER_02: One more question.
• 1:55:21
SPEAKER_02: What do you hypothetically speaking, what do you think would have happened if they didn't go back?
• 1:55:32
SPEAKER_02: Like they they they got the freighter blew up, they got off the island, they concocted the whole story, the Oceanic Six uh got off the island, and then it was like we have to go back.
• 1:55:45
SPEAKER_02: So the Oceanic Six was back in the mainland and the rest were still on the island or wherever.
• 1:55:52
SPEAKER_02: But what do you think would have happened if they hadn't gone through the whole thing of the lamppost and the Jira and going back?
• 1:56:02
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I guess the cycle would have gone on.
• 1:56:05
SPEAKER_00: Um because Jacob wasn't murdered until they returned.
• 1:56:11
SPEAKER_00: So I guess, and you know, because they needed that's the whole reason he needed Jack John Locke's body was to manipulate Ben into killing Jacob.
• 1:56:20
SPEAKER_00: Otherwise he would have had to come up with a different plan.
• 1:56:23
SPEAKER_02: So it was a good to represent Christian Shepherd.
• 1:56:27
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, yeah.
• 1:56:28
SPEAKER_00: So I mean, um, if they didn't return, the events wouldn't have happened like they were, obviously.
• 1:56:35
SPEAKER_00: But uh I think that the man in black would have tried to figure out a different way, but I think the cycle would have just gone on and eventually there would be an end.
• 1:56:43
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just that this was the end that these writers created.
• 1:56:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, because just like I'd said earlier, like if you have two um, you know, god-like entities that are battling, it's not really that interesting unless you can make them uh mortal, which is how the whole show ended, you know.
• 1:57:02
SPEAKER_00: Um, so or give them some morale some morality or something.
• 1:57:07
  SPEAKER_00: Like Haley's heel.
• 1:57:08
SPEAKER_00: Yes, there has to be something.
• 1:57:09
SPEAKER_00: They can't just be impervious.
• 1:57:11
SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, it's like, well, what the hell is the point of this?
• 1:57:13
  SPEAKER_00: It goes on forever.
• 1:57:14
SPEAKER_00: Um, that's called the Bible, and we can just read that and we're good.
• 1:57:17
SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, it's uh I mean, I think that it would have uh just been a different protector, and um Jacob would have had to.
• 1:57:28
SPEAKER_00: I mean, there were still more names along the compass, and there are still more names on the wall.
• 1:57:32
SPEAKER_00: Um, he could have brought more people.
• 1:57:35
SPEAKER_00: The cycle would have never ended, I guess.
• 1:57:37
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, in the one episode across the sea, mother, her body was physically dying.
• 1:57:43
SPEAKER_00: You know, it looked like she was actually weakening.
• 1:57:45
SPEAKER_00: So I guess after a millennia or two, it's time to go.
• 1:57:48
SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, I guess someone eventually would have had to be the protector.
• 1:57:53
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I do think that they would have always been haunted, uh, especially Jack.
• 1:57:58
SPEAKER_00: And it seems like other people were getting other glimpses, and also Sun would have uh maybe never rested because the fact that they did, or maybe she would have connected with her child, but I don't know, because I think she had a lot of uh obviously trauma related to um the island, and that also was connected to the creation of the child, so maybe she'd have already always had kind of like uh I want to say like mom PTSD, you know, where she would have been like maybe unable to connect fully with her child.
• 1:58:31
SPEAKER_00: Because honestly, I think that's a little bit why I'm not sure the writers were thinking that, but I think that's a little bit why son was like, oh, a little bit kind of like fuck my kid, because she was like, This kid is just all associated with all this horribleness that happened to me.
• 1:58:44
SPEAKER_00: I need to go and fix this part of me before I can even have a relationship with my child.
• 1:58:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't think it makes sense, actually.
• 1:58:50
  SPEAKER_00: I like that.
• 1:58:51
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't I don't think maybe the writers were cognizant of it, and only women in 2024 can maybe think about that because now we are talking about like the mommy blues and like what it's like to give birth to a child, and then I mean, my god, all the stuff that goes on with a woman's body, even at the in the best situations in the perfect life, it's still hell on your oh in your mental and your emotional and your no, it's a half fucking mess.
• 1:59:15
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:59:18
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I like that idea.
• 1:59:19
SPEAKER_10: I I think that if if if we have I'm not mad at her leaving now, thank you.
• 1:59:23
SPEAKER_09: You just say we'd be mad at her.
• 1:59:25
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
• 1:59:26
SPEAKER_02: If you just need therapy, yeah, yeah, right?
• 1:59:29
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you need a therapy.
• 1:59:31
SPEAKER_02: That was her therapy, the island.
• 1:59:34
SPEAKER_02: If the story is the story, and uh in the sense of like it's not being written, but it is what's happening.
• 1:59:46
SPEAKER_02: I think that I agree that these characters would have uh been haunted by that knowledge, and one way or another they would have gotten themselves back.
• 2:00:00
SPEAKER_02: Like, would it have happened that they were all on the same flight?
• 2:00:03
SPEAKER_02: Maybe not, maybe, but but I think one way or the other you know, like the whole thing with the show, right, is like destiny.
• 2:00:13
SPEAKER_02: So I think it was their destiny to find their way back to the island, to find their way all back together.
• 2:00:21
SPEAKER_02: Because even though Jack and Kate and Hurley were candidates, but I think that it was more than that, right?
• 2:00:32
SPEAKER_02: Because Sawyer and Juliet and Miles, there were still characters who were left behind.
• 2:00:41
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:00:42
SPEAKER_03: So it definitely affected Hurley, yeah.
• 2:00:44
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 2:00:45
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 2:00:45
SPEAKER_02: So I think that maybe the journey would have taken a little longer because maybe they would have needed more time had they not been pushed.
• 2:00:56
SPEAKER_02: But I think that they definitely would have found their way back to the island one way or another.
• 2:01:01
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:01:01
SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, the fate versus free will.
• 2:01:04
SPEAKER_02: I think that their fate was to be there.
• 2:01:08
  SPEAKER_00: 100%.
• 2:01:08
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:01:09
SPEAKER_02: Free will might have taken them in a different route.
• 2:01:13
SPEAKER_09: They could have chosen not to come back, but there would have been repercussions.
• 2:01:18
  SPEAKER_09: Mental, emotional.
• 2:01:20
SPEAKER_09: You just said that, like they would have been haunted by it.
• 2:01:23
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 2:01:23
SPEAKER_09: But I also agree with you.
• 2:01:25
SPEAKER_10: How many times do I agree with her?
• 2:01:26
SPEAKER_10: She wants to fight me.
• 2:01:29
  SPEAKER_10: No, you're not listening.
• 2:01:30
  SPEAKER_10: It's different.
• 2:01:34
SPEAKER_02: There's the big idea of fate versus free will.
• 2:01:37
SPEAKER_02: So I think free will would give them the option to get on a Jira 316 or not.
• 2:01:47
SPEAKER_02: But I think fate would have one way or the other gotten them back to the island.
• 2:01:53
  SPEAKER_02: Does that make sense?
• 2:01:54
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 2:01:55
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:01:55
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 2:01:55
  SPEAKER_02: That's that's my answer.
• 2:01:57
SPEAKER_02: So it's it's a little bit I I hear it as a little bit different than what you just said.
• 2:02:03
SPEAKER_02: Maybe I'm not hearing you properly.
• 2:02:05
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 2:02:06
  SPEAKER_02: I forgot what I said already.
• 2:02:07
SPEAKER_00: I honestly it was it was similar enough.
• 2:02:12
  unknown: Okay.
• 2:02:13
  SPEAKER_00: I forgot what I said.
• 2:02:14
SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like sometimes me and my husband will be fighting, and then I realize I'm like, we're both saying the same thing just in totally different ways, and we literally can't, and I think that's what you guys just did.
• 2:02:23
SPEAKER_09: But last we just had a uh recording yesterday, and it was legit.
• 2:02:27
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, Lisa, I'm agreeing with you.
• 2:02:29
  SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
• 2:02:29
  SPEAKER_10: No, but it's different.
• 2:02:30
  SPEAKER_10: I'm like, it's different.
• 2:02:32
SPEAKER_10: I don't remember what it was, but it was different.
• 2:02:33
SPEAKER_10: I was like, I'm agreeing with you.
• 2:02:35
SPEAKER_10: I'm actually co-siding and giving more examples as to why you're correct.
• 2:02:38
SPEAKER_02: It's like you're the only one who I who I know that gets mad when I agree with you is completely different.
• 2:02:44
  SPEAKER_02: It was different.
• 2:02:44
SPEAKER_02: I don't remember what it was, but it was different.
• 2:02:46
SPEAKER_10: You'll find out when you whatever we don't know which episode it was.
• 2:02:51
SPEAKER_09: She was like, Agnes, you were correct.
• 2:02:53
SPEAKER_09: You were agreeing with her.
• 2:02:54
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
• 2:02:54
  SPEAKER_02: I I I'll probably edit it tomorrow.
• 2:02:57
SPEAKER_02: You can edit the whole thing out.
• 2:02:59
  SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm maybe I will.
• 2:03:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:03:02
SPEAKER_02: No, no, maybe I'll see if it makes sense today or tomorrow.
• 2:03:08
SPEAKER_02: It won't because it did make sense.
• 2:03:10
  SPEAKER_07: No, it doesn't.
• 2:03:10
SPEAKER_07: It will, but she would she won't admit to it.
• 2:03:13
SPEAKER_07: Oh, I'll admit to it.
• 2:03:15
SPEAKER_07: No, she'll do like some kind of peace offering.
• 2:03:17
SPEAKER_07: I won't admit to it, but you know.
• 2:03:19
SPEAKER_07: But thanks for doing the pawn.
• 2:03:21
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 2:03:25
  SPEAKER_10: Something like that.
• 2:03:27
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, me or my.
• 2:03:31
SPEAKER_09: Are you done badging us, mom?
• 2:03:33
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:03:35
  SPEAKER_06: To piss her off.
• 2:03:36
SPEAKER_06: I call it as a yes, boss.
• 2:03:38
  SPEAKER_06: She's like, I'm not your boss.
• 2:03:39
  SPEAKER_06: I'm like, yes, boss.
• 2:03:43
SPEAKER_02: Do you guys have anything else?
• 2:03:46
  SPEAKER_00: Melissa?
• 2:03:48
SPEAKER_00: No, I'm just real, I'm just real thankful that you ladies had me on.
• 2:03:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm just so thankful that you guys did this.
• 2:03:54
SPEAKER_00: Um, this podcast in general.
• 2:03:56
  SPEAKER_02: Anytime.
• 2:03:56
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
• 2:03:57
  SPEAKER_02: Legit, anytime.
• 2:03:58
SPEAKER_02: And I hope I give you her job.
• 2:04:01
  SPEAKER_02: What'd you say?
• 2:04:02
SPEAKER_02: I say you'll give you your job.
• 2:04:05
SPEAKER_09: I would totally give you my job.
• 2:04:07
  SPEAKER_09: Totally.
• 2:04:08
SPEAKER_09: And I just hope the next show we do, well, we have a mini season coming up.
• 2:04:13
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and that's then I do my show.
• 2:04:17
SPEAKER_09: So I have no idea what it is yet.
• 2:04:19
SPEAKER_09: I hope the funny thing is though, I think I was tossing between I settled on one because it was kind of back and forth.
• 2:04:24
SPEAKER_09: And I settled on the one.
• 2:04:26
SPEAKER_09: And I think because between the back and forth, she's like, Yeah, I don't remember.
• 2:04:28
  SPEAKER_09: I don't have no idea.
• 2:04:29
SPEAKER_09: I mean, you could know Lisa, but she's like, whatever.
• 2:04:32
SPEAKER_09: I hope you like one of the next two C shows we do because you know we're like, hey, Mel.
• 2:04:39
  SPEAKER_09: Oh, I think.
• 2:04:39
SPEAKER_00: You want to join us?
• 2:04:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd love to join you guys.
• 2:04:42
SPEAKER_00: Well, especially because I mean, I think that pretty much no matter what show you would do, I would listen to you guys, even if I didn't care for the show.
• 2:04:49
SPEAKER_00: Because you I just like the dynamic between you guys.
• 2:04:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:04:52
  SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
• 2:04:52
  SPEAKER_06: Um stop crying.
• 2:04:54
  SPEAKER_00: I get emotional.
• 2:04:55
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, because there's like three podcasts that I listen to that I really love, and they all have um yeah, pairs of people that are connected in some way.
• 2:05:04
SPEAKER_00: Brother, sister, mother, uh, I mean father-daughter, and then besties, BFFs for life, you know, the ultimate rider dies.
• 2:05:12
SPEAKER_00: So, um, and you guys are a lot nicer to each other than the brother and sister, so at least you have that going on.
• 2:05:18
SPEAKER_00: But uh we hope we both have siblings, so we can see how that's that yeah, that's true.
• 2:05:22
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm an only child, so I think that dynamic is so interesting.
• 2:05:26
SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, I mean, I do have a friend that I've had since like sixth grade, and we're still pretty close, but you ladies are so close, it's really I really love it.
• 2:05:35
SPEAKER_09: But you think it's kind of cool, right, Lisa?
• 2:05:38
SPEAKER_09: That people like we actually like each other enough.
• 2:05:40
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:05:43
SPEAKER_09: I don't know how I have friends, like legit.
• 2:05:45
SPEAKER_09: I think at least once a week.
• 2:05:46
SPEAKER_09: Well, on the I'm like, Lisa, I don't know how I have friends.
• 2:05:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, what do you love me?
• 2:05:50
  SPEAKER_04: I don't get it.
• 2:05:51
SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, psychologically, it's a really it's really a green flag that you two have been friends for so long.
• 2:05:56
  SPEAKER_00: I think that's a real big green flag.
• 2:05:58
SPEAKER_00: Like if I meet someone and they're like, oh, I don't really have any friends, or you know, even my husband, he's like has a few people that he's known since high school.
• 2:06:04
  SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, that's a green flag.
• 2:06:06
SPEAKER_00: Like someone can stand you for that long, you know.
• 2:06:08
  SPEAKER_00: They have in flow.
• 2:06:10
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:06:10
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, because like it worries me when people don't have like, oh, I have tons of friends.
• 2:06:15
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, then you don't no one has tons of friends.
• 2:06:18
  SPEAKER_09: That's a red flag to me.
• 2:06:19
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I have one or two close friends.
• 2:06:21
  SPEAKER_09: Okay, that's a green flag.
• 2:06:22
SPEAKER_09: That's like yeah, people who know you, your circle's tight.
• 2:06:25
  SPEAKER_09: That means you're genuine.
• 2:06:27
SPEAKER_01: 600 friends, nobody time for that.
• 2:06:31
  SPEAKER_01: I can't first of all it's too people.
• 2:06:33
  SPEAKER_01: Let's start with that.
• 2:06:33
  SPEAKER_01: It's too people.
• 2:06:34
  SPEAKER_01: I know very two people-ly, yeah.
• 2:06:36
  SPEAKER_01: Two people-ly.
• 2:06:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this isn't the cast of lost with 13 people that are all trying to emper attention here.
• 2:06:42
  SPEAKER_00: That's chill.
• 2:06:43
SPEAKER_09: That's another reason I don't think I can ever be just like I can never be in lost because I was like, okay, I'm I'm killing off half you people because there's just too many of you.
• 2:06:50
  SPEAKER_09: Like, I can't see what's going on.
• 2:06:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:06:52
SPEAKER_02: Well, let me tell you from my perspective, that would be great because there's so many people that nobody's gonna come looking for me to start doing shit.
• 2:07:00
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, go.
• 2:07:00
SPEAKER_02: But you gotta go trek into the woods to go chase after a rose.
• 2:07:03
  SPEAKER_09: Very good point.
• 2:07:04
  SPEAKER_02: Go take Kate.
• 2:07:05
SPEAKER_02: She wants to fall in love.
• 2:07:06
SPEAKER_09: You know what we could do?
• 2:07:09
SPEAKER_09: We can go find, we can like build it like a tree house, somewhere in the back.
• 2:07:12
SPEAKER_09: Close enough that we're safe, but far enough that we're out of sight, out of mind.
• 2:07:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:07:18
SPEAKER_00: Oh, because I would be Shannon to the core, I would be completely useless.
• 2:07:22
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:07:27
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:07:28
  SPEAKER_00: Well, because I definitely, I definitely don't, especially at 40.
• 2:07:32
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
• 2:07:32
SPEAKER_00: I definitely don't want any dude hitting on me.
• 2:07:34
  SPEAKER_00: I guess when I was 20, I would have loved that.
• 2:07:36
SPEAKER_00: But now at 40, if a man is like, you look good, I'm like, I need to change my outfit.
• 2:07:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, this was no, yeah.
• 2:07:41
  SPEAKER_00: Like, go away.
• 2:07:42
SPEAKER_00: Like I'm dressing, I'm dressing for myself and for other women.
• 2:07:46
SPEAKER_00: I am not dressing for you.
• 2:07:47
  SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
• 2:07:48
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:07:49
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I yeah, men are weird.
• 2:07:51
SPEAKER_09: Like, why do you wear makeup?
• 2:07:53
  SPEAKER_09: Why do you breathe?
• 2:07:54
  SPEAKER_09: Leave me alone.
• 2:07:58
SPEAKER_09: See, I don't know why people like me.
• 2:08:00
SPEAKER_00: Even like back in the day when we wore masks, like um, one of my co-workers, like I wore I still wear lipstick sometimes, but one of my co-workers always still wore lipstick, even though she had a mask on, because she's like, I just love putting on lipstick and I don't give a shit.
• 2:08:11
SPEAKER_09: So I think because you know she looks good.
• 2:08:14
  SPEAKER_09: I don't have anyone else me.
• 2:08:16
  SPEAKER_09: I love that.
• 2:08:16
SPEAKER_02: And my father always says when you look good, you feel good.
• 2:08:19
  SPEAKER_09: Feel good, exactly.
• 2:08:21
SPEAKER_02: You do it for you, you do it to feel good.
• 2:08:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:08:24
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, ladies, I'm just thankful.
• 2:08:26
SPEAKER_00: Um I can't wait to hear more, and I would love to come back.
• 2:08:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you'll get kicked me at one point.
• 2:08:31
SPEAKER_09: Okay, no, I'm about to say, I don't know, you don't know what you just did to yourself.
• 2:08:34
  SPEAKER_09: Uh oh.
• 2:08:36
SPEAKER_09: We are the Jacobs of the podcasting world.
• 2:08:39
SPEAKER_10: We are now a candidate.
• 2:08:40
SPEAKER_09: Oh no, I drink the water.
• 2:08:42
  SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
• 2:08:46
SPEAKER_02: Does that make us both Jacob?
• 2:08:48
SPEAKER_02: Or like is one of us Jacob and one of us is like Barry?
• 2:08:51
SPEAKER_02: Or should I say Chaz?
• 2:08:54
SPEAKER_09: I like to think we take turns depending on the time of like depending on the day.
• 2:08:59
  SPEAKER_09: We take turns.
• 2:09:00
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I could see that.
• 2:09:02
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 2:09:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 2:09:03
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 2:09:04
  SPEAKER_10: I sometimes we're both sometimes we're both Barry.
• 2:09:09
  SPEAKER_10: Sometimes we're both Jacob.
• 2:09:10
SPEAKER_10: Sometimes we're both smashing the bottle.
• 2:09:14
SPEAKER_10: More often than not, we're both smashing the bottle.
• 2:09:18
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:09:19
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:09:21
SPEAKER_02: Um, I completely forgot what I was gonna say.
• 2:09:24
SPEAKER_02: I'm like, what did I look at that reminded me and now I forgot?
• 2:09:29
SPEAKER_09: Go brush your teeth, Lisa.
• 2:09:30
  SPEAKER_09: You remember.
• 2:09:34
  SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
• 2:09:36
SPEAKER_02: I hate when that happens.
• 2:09:38
SPEAKER_00: I really don't that's the story of my life.
• 2:09:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:09:42
  SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
• 2:09:44
SPEAKER_09: But she'll remember like sometime tomorrow.
• 2:09:46
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:09:53
SPEAKER_02: Can I say I really love when you come and guest because it it's just so such a positive experience and it really it really does already feel like we're hanging out with an old friend.
• 2:10:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I feel I feel like I'm on the level.
• 2:10:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:10:14
  SPEAKER_09: You are dead.
• 2:10:15
SPEAKER_09: You're not you are the level.
• 2:10:16
SPEAKER_09: You're not on the level, you are the level.
• 2:10:18
SPEAKER_02: If you knocked on my door, I would let you in.
• 2:10:21
  SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
• 2:10:22
SPEAKER_02: She didn't let anyone in.
• 2:10:23
  SPEAKER_02: I know, man.
• 2:10:25
SPEAKER_02: I would I would offer you dinner.
• 2:10:27
  SPEAKER_02: I think it's oh, oh shit.
• 2:10:29
  SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
• 2:10:29
  SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
• 2:10:31
SPEAKER_00: I might need to come up there.
• 2:10:32
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh you are mostly out of I think it's like the East Coast vibes, because even though I've lived in Texas for so long, I really still feel like Maryland and the East Coast is my home.
• 2:10:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you never as I like to call Maryland, Maryland is Upper South.
• 2:10:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yes, exactly.
• 2:10:48
  SPEAKER_02: Upper South.
• 2:10:49
SPEAKER_02: It is because it's really not the South, but it is a little south adjacent.
• 2:10:55
SPEAKER_00: So it's the upper south, yeah.
• 2:10:56
  SPEAKER_00: It's like North South.
• 2:10:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's trying to be two things at once.
• 2:11:00
SPEAKER_00: But I think Maryland is accepted by both and we stand up.
• 2:11:05
SPEAKER_09: Now you have states like Missouri, and I think it's like the redheaded stepchild.
• 2:11:10
SPEAKER_09: The South is not south enough of the South, it's too south for the north.
• 2:11:14
  SPEAKER_09: Nobody wants it.
• 2:11:15
SPEAKER_09: But Maryland is kind of like that too, a little bit.
• 2:11:17
SPEAKER_09: But isn't Maryland and it's not accepted like any like people who know who hang out, like they're like, okay, Maryland, you know.
• 2:11:23
SPEAKER_00: Well, there's like the deep south where that's like Georgia and Mississippi, and they don't accept anyone.
• 2:11:27
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, nobody to be fair.
• 2:11:30
SPEAKER_00: But uh, I do I would say it's part of the South.
• 2:11:32
SPEAKER_00: And also, Texas is just Texas, it's just by itself, and it likes to whole country, yeah.
• 2:11:37
  SPEAKER_00: And it's own country.
• 2:11:38
SPEAKER_00: And like I tell my husband, I'm like, he's always like, we could just succeed.
• 2:11:42
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, the rest of the country doesn't care.
• 2:11:43
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's okay with that, it doesn't care.
• 2:11:46
SPEAKER_00: But uh I do definitely see Maryland as being a mix, and also there's the the beach and you know, kind of the farmland, the country, it's got a little bit of everything.
• 2:11:57
  SPEAKER_02: I mean, I like Maryland.
• 2:11:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm I'm not even gonna lie.
• 2:11:59
SPEAKER_02: I like Maryland, but I mean the wire is one of the greatest shows ever.
• 2:12:03
SPEAKER_03: So and then yeah, yeah.
• 2:12:05
SPEAKER_00: Have you watched it, Agnes?
• 2:12:07
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yes.
• 2:12:08
  SPEAKER_00: It's amazing.
• 2:12:09
SPEAKER_09: Uh oh, to be fair, when a lot of these shows were series?
• 2:12:13
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think so.
• 2:12:14
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, the wire is a lot of these shows were out.
• 2:12:17
SPEAKER_09: I was legit working like 60 70 hours ago.
• 2:12:20
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:12:20
SPEAKER_09: I never saw my kid.
• 2:12:21
SPEAKER_02: I didn't watch it when it first came out.
• 2:12:23
  SPEAKER_02: I watched it years.
• 2:12:24
SPEAKER_00: I watched Years later, and then you know during COVID for an uplifting.
• 2:12:28
  SPEAKER_00: I was like, you're right.
• 2:12:30
SPEAKER_00: And then I started to watch.
• 2:12:31
SPEAKER_00: I was like, God damn, I can't turn away, but oh my god, open a vein.
• 2:12:34
  SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah.
• 2:12:36
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, this is some heavy ass shit.
• 2:12:38
  SPEAKER_00: Talking about.
• 2:12:39
SPEAKER_09: Lisa had me watching the stupid show called Lost, so I really couldn't watch anything else.
• 2:12:45
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, that's a better escape, maybe than yeah, yeah.
• 2:12:49
  SPEAKER_00: So you're totally far.
• 2:13:01
SPEAKER_02: Yes, was loosely based on one of the police officers involved in the Anon Sciet.
• 2:13:08
  SPEAKER_02: Anon Sayed.
• 2:13:10
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:13:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:13:11
SPEAKER_02: And so I was like, I keep hearing about Detective Bunk.
• 2:13:15
SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, the hell?
• 2:13:17
SPEAKER_02: And so then I was like, oh, the wire?
• 2:13:18
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll give it a shot.
• 2:13:19
  SPEAKER_02: It's a cop show.
• 2:13:20
  SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm, you know.
• 2:13:21
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, oh, this is a good show.
• 2:13:23
SPEAKER_09: And during that time, I was listening to a lot of wrong from convictions and like podcasts of that nature.
• 2:13:30
SPEAKER_09: I went on a complete rabbit hole.
• 2:13:32
SPEAKER_09: And then I stopped because I was getting we I was getting so angry.
• 2:13:35
SPEAKER_09: We had to stop too.
• 2:13:38
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:13:39
SPEAKER_09: What was going on with um, I can't remember.
• 2:13:42
  SPEAKER_09: There's a lot going on.
• 2:13:43
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, a lot going on that was heavy.
• 2:13:45
SPEAKER_09: One of the 600 different races.
• 2:13:48
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:13:48
SPEAKER_09: And I was just like, you know what?
• 2:13:49
SPEAKER_09: I had to I had to actually stop.
• 2:13:50
SPEAKER_09: I had to pull myself away.
• 2:13:52
SPEAKER_09: I had to put my hand in the sand and take care of my mental health.
• 2:13:56
  SPEAKER_09: Well, of course, yeah.
• 2:13:57
  SPEAKER_09: So yeah.
• 2:13:58
SPEAKER_02: I mean, and especially like, you know, um Eric Gardner.
• 2:14:03
SPEAKER_02: But with the whole fucking cigarette, he he was killed like 15 minutes from where I lived at the time.
• 2:14:10
SPEAKER_02: It's like I know exactly where that is.
• 2:14:13
SPEAKER_02: I passed there all the time.
• 2:14:15
SPEAKER_02: It's like so close that it really, really hits home.
• 2:14:19
  SPEAKER_02: It's yeah.
• 2:14:21
SPEAKER_02: I and not to sound like heartless, right?
• 2:14:24
SPEAKER_02: But but it becomes so much less in the abstract and so much more that you can't you just can't push it aside.
• 2:14:33
SPEAKER_02: You just can't get away from it.
• 2:14:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:14:36
SPEAKER_00: Well, a normal person would be well, but also I mean, there is something to be said where it's kind of the human condition that until it happens to you, you know.
• 2:14:45
SPEAKER_00: Um I mean, I'm not Jewish, but I do I do come from Jewish heritage.
• 2:14:50
SPEAKER_00: So I did do a I mean, you know, a lot of research and I took classes in college and stuff like that.
• 2:14:55
SPEAKER_00: So I mean it's very true, even historically, as a history major, that you know, until it literally is in your face till it directly affects you.
• 2:15:03
SPEAKER_00: It's kind of the human condition to be like, oh, well, whatever.
• 2:15:06
SPEAKER_00: And that's true to myself.
• 2:15:08
SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, even in everyday things, where uh like at the salon, I had a client that reached out to me once and she said, Oh, do you accept clients that are fat?
• 2:15:16
  SPEAKER_00: I was like, What?
• 2:15:17
SPEAKER_00: And she's like, Yeah, I've been refused from several salons because I'm fat.
• 2:15:20
SPEAKER_00: And in Texas, you do have the right to refuse anybody for any reason whatsoever.
• 2:15:25
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:15:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, so, but I was honestly like, and I didn't want to be rude to this woman, but I was like, No offense, ma'am, but your money spends the same.
• 2:15:32
SPEAKER_00: So I mean, uh, you know, I was like, I've I'll take anyone that is not a horrible person, and you know, all's good, it's hair is hair for as far as I'm concerned.
• 2:15:42
  SPEAKER_00: That's good.
• 2:15:43
SPEAKER_09: That's but nanas to me.
• 2:15:45
  SPEAKER_09: I was I remember I was I was going to a party.
• 2:15:47
SPEAKER_09: This is like oh, pre pre-kids, and all I needed was a wash and sack because I want them because if I washed my hair at home, it wasn't gonna dry in time.
• 2:15:57
SPEAKER_09: So I went to the salon and the lady goes, Oh, I can't do black hair.
• 2:16:00
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, huh?
• 2:16:03
SPEAKER_09: And this cute little Chinese lady, she must have been knee high to a like to a grasshopper.
• 2:16:08
SPEAKER_09: She's like, I do your hair, I do your hair.
• 2:16:10
SPEAKER_09: I'm like, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:16:11
SPEAKER_09: Wash and set, calling day.
• 2:16:12
SPEAKER_09: The woman who saw I can't do black hair, yeah.
• 2:16:15
SPEAKER_09: You mix, so my hair is a little, you know, it's a little it's weird.
• 2:16:19
SPEAKER_02: And uh maybe the woman that she ended up doing, uh wait, what am I talking?
• 2:16:22
SPEAKER_02: No, no, I just uh as an aside, I feel like maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but that bothers me less than saying you've refused me because I'm fat.
• 2:16:32
SPEAKER_02: Because text texture texturally I don't know, I could understand if you're like the same way you could say I don't know how to do curly hair or I don't know how to do straight hair.
• 2:16:46
SPEAKER_02: Because maybe you just don't want to fuck up.
• 2:16:49
SPEAKER_07: Okay, wait, there's more to my story.
• 2:16:50
SPEAKER_07: Oh, then I'm not then I'll shut the fuck up.
• 2:16:53
  SPEAKER_07: No, right.
• 2:16:53
SPEAKER_07: I was like, okay, and the problem like, okay, not a problem.
• 2:16:57
SPEAKER_09: I left it alone because different tech.
• 2:17:00
SPEAKER_07: The woman she ended up doing though had very tight curly hair.
• 2:17:06
SPEAKER_07: Oh that's what had me just like fuck her all the way to Texas, and that's why I was like and God, it was so floral.
• 2:17:14
  SPEAKER_09: The woman's hair.
• 2:17:15
SPEAKER_09: I remember looking, I'm like, oh my god, that's so gorgeous.
• 2:17:17
SPEAKER_09: But anyhow, but the point was I was just like the woman wasn't of color though.
• 2:17:24
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:17:25
SPEAKER_09: That's when I was like, I'll go fuck you, the horse you rode in and your mama.
• 2:17:31
SPEAKER_00: But um, so it's just like uh and this because with with me as a hairstylist, I always say like people, how does that make a difference?
• 2:17:44
SPEAKER_00: Well, I I don't and also the uh and sh I guess because the only thing I was like, well, the chairs can take like 400 pounds.
• 2:17:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know, and this woman, I mean, I'm about 200 pounds.
• 2:17:55
SPEAKER_00: So I was like, if this chair can take me, I mean this, I mean, my god, is this Ursula coming in?
• 2:17:58
SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, and she was a normal woman, you know.
• 2:18:01
SPEAKER_00: But uh as far as she wanna have tentacles curled.
• 2:18:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, as far as me as a hairdresser, I'll straight up tell people, I'm like, I'm not the best uh that money can pay for for ex service for like perms, for instance.
• 2:18:14
SPEAKER_00: Like I have a client that she gets her perm done elsewhere and I cut her hair, because I'm like, can I do a perm?
• 2:18:19
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 2:18:20
SPEAKER_00: Is it gonna be worth your money?
• 2:18:21
SPEAKER_00: Probably not, no, and it's gonna take forever and we're both gonna be miserable.
• 2:18:25
SPEAKER_00: So it's just better that you go spend your money elsewhere.
• 2:18:27
SPEAKER_00: So that's what I I've definitely had people that want certain things like uh uh designs in their haircut.
• 2:18:34
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I can do a line, but if you want the Dallas Cowboys logo elsewhere, yeah.
• 2:18:40
  SPEAKER_09: Not your girl, right?
• 2:18:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:18:42
SPEAKER_09: So that's exceptional, that's exceptional customer service in my eyes.
• 2:18:46
SPEAKER_00: Well, I will say there are some people.
• 2:18:48
SPEAKER_00: I've had a few people be like, no, no, I trust you.
• 2:18:50
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I'm telling you, I've done hair, I've done hair long enough that you're not gonna get the best result with me here.
• 2:18:56
SPEAKER_00: And I generally know other people, um, because for a while I did know a girl that did designs before she uh left the business.
• 2:19:03
SPEAKER_00: But I'd be like, Kira is much better at this, girl.
• 2:19:05
  SPEAKER_00: Why are we?
• 2:19:06
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, your money is better spent with her.
• 2:19:08
SPEAKER_00: Uh I and I don't want to take your money and then it looks fucked up.
• 2:19:11
SPEAKER_00: Like I want you to look hot.
• 2:19:13
SPEAKER_00: My whole job is that you get laid at the end of this, not that you go home and cry, you know.
• 2:19:17
SPEAKER_00: So uh, but yeah, man, I'll I'll just say, yeah, that it's it's just been great meeting you ladies, and I look forward to many more.
• 2:19:27
SPEAKER_00: And you know, maybe one day I'll hold you a washing set.
• 2:19:30
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:19:33
SPEAKER_09: I need a good wash and set in my head massage.
• 2:19:35
SPEAKER_02: Uh oh, the head massage is the best part.
• 2:19:38
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 2:19:40
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:19:41
SPEAKER_00: And uh beauty school day one, they tell you if you can't do a good head massage, like just call it a day.
• 2:19:46
SPEAKER_09: Oh, I'm glad they told you that because sometimes I'm just like, what are you doing?
• 2:19:50
SPEAKER_09: I mean, like, why am I here?
• 2:19:52
SPEAKER_00: But there's sometimes I go, I'm like, oh, well, you really gotta you really gotta train people.
• 2:19:58
SPEAKER_00: And even I've done head massages on some people, and they're like, Oh my gosh, you're being too hard.
• 2:20:02
SPEAKER_00: But then some people are like, girl, put some put some pressure in there, you know.
• 2:20:05
  SPEAKER_00: So harder.
• 2:20:06
SPEAKER_00: But the ability to do is what matters, like you know, no, yes, yes.
• 2:20:10
SPEAKER_09: And is it weird when people look at you when you're washing their hair?
• 2:20:13
  SPEAKER_09: I'm like, honestly, yeah.
• 2:20:14
SPEAKER_09: Well, for me, because I'm close your eyes, stop I'm kind of big-chested.
• 2:20:19
SPEAKER_00: So, and by the and and I don't stand behind there, there's different shampoo bowls.
• 2:20:23
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't stand behind them, I stand like to their side.
• 2:20:26
SPEAKER_00: So, especially if it's a gentleman, like they'd get an eye full.
• 2:20:30
SPEAKER_00: So, but yeah, um, most people they do kind of, but yeah, I think the funniest is when like I'm trying to cut someone's hair or color their hair, and they instead of looking at me to speak to me through the mirror, they'll try to turn it on.
• 2:20:44
  SPEAKER_00: Turn around.
• 2:20:45
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, and I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm so glad that your mom raised you right.
• 2:20:48
SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad that your mom raised you right, but you do not need to look me in the eyes.
• 2:20:51
SPEAKER_00: I was like, that's one of the reasons the mirror is there.
• 2:20:53
SPEAKER_00: If you need to communicate, that's what the mirror is for.
• 2:20:56
SPEAKER_00: Because I need you to stay right here.
• 2:21:00
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because there was a woman I was trying to give her highlights, and I was like, man, this has been taking half an hour too long.
• 2:21:04
  SPEAKER_00: You need to seriously.
• 2:21:05
SPEAKER_00: That's that's a little bit of the blessing and the curse of the younger ones with their phones.
• 2:21:09
  SPEAKER_00: Um just be there.
• 2:21:11
SPEAKER_00: But the thing is that sometimes I'm like, I have to cut your bangs, like you have to, and uh I'm telling you to get them to lift their head up just to cut some bangs.
• 2:21:18
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm giving you pulling seats.
• 2:21:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm like, I'm giving you the haircut that you're requesting.
• 2:21:22
SPEAKER_00: Can you literally just hold your head up long enough for me to do that?
• 2:21:24
  SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah.
• 2:21:27
SPEAKER_00: But uh, but yeah, man, yeah.
• 2:21:29
  SPEAKER_00: So Lost is great.
• 2:21:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad it brought us together, and I'm so glad I got to hear all your opinions.
• 2:21:35
SPEAKER_00: And I'm really glad you liked the ending, Agnes.
• 2:21:37
SPEAKER_00: I was a little nervous, but I'm glad that it I'm glad that it tried a nice bow for you.
• 2:21:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 2:21:42
SPEAKER_02: I really didn't think she was gonna like it as much as she did.
• 2:21:44
SPEAKER_02: I thought she was just gonna walk away like, yeah, okay, fits.
• 2:21:48
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I can appreciate good TV.
• 2:21:50
  SPEAKER_09: I am a professional TV watcher.
• 2:21:52
SPEAKER_09: I take my job very serious.
• 2:21:55
  SPEAKER_09: Good to know.
• 2:21:59
  SPEAKER_09: Melissa, I think I th I don't know.
• 2:22:02
SPEAKER_09: Anything else we need to add?
• 2:22:03
  SPEAKER_09: Because Melissa's like, I have a life, I need to go.
• 2:22:11
SPEAKER_00: Uh no, I mean, if anyone's ever in Houston, Texas, I'd love to do your hair.
• 2:22:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, if you like to read books, I have books in almost every genre.
• 2:22:19
  SPEAKER_00: It's melissaallgood.com.
• 2:22:22
SPEAKER_00: One L in both of my names and two S's.
• 2:22:26
SPEAKER_00: And uh yeah, just I love reading, I love eating.
• 2:22:31
SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, if you like Tex Mex and you like books, then follow me on Insta.
• 2:22:36
SPEAKER_00: And uh yeah, just and now I can finally share some lost memes now that I know you're done, Agnes, because every now and then.
• 2:22:43
SPEAKER_00: Every now and then I'd see a meme.
• 2:22:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh no, Agnes, they follow me.
• 2:22:47
SPEAKER_00: I don't want them to see, I don't want to spoil anything.
• 2:22:49
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 2:22:52
SPEAKER_00: Well, because every now and then I'd see like a Juliet and Sawyer thing.
• 2:22:54
SPEAKER_00: I'd be like, wait a minute, wait a minute.
• 2:22:56
  SPEAKER_00: They've seen that, right?
• 2:22:56
SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, yeah, I can, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:22:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:22:58
SPEAKER_09: I mean, I am so bad, I would like, oh, that's cute, and not and not click, and I will.
• 2:23:03
SPEAKER_09: Oh, thank god, thank god.
• 2:23:04
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, what a blessing.
• 2:23:06
  unknown: That's a lot.
• 2:23:06
SPEAKER_09: I think a lot of Lisa's gaslighting didn't work because I forget that she said something.
• 2:23:12
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah, probably.
• 2:23:13
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:23:15
  SPEAKER_02: That is true.
• 2:23:16
SPEAKER_02: Because I have said some true shit and I have said some bullshit.
• 2:23:20
SPEAKER_02: And oh just like, yeah, whatever.
• 2:23:22
SPEAKER_02: The next episode comes in the slatest tabula rasa over here.
• 2:23:28
SPEAKER_02: But what I forgot here.
• 2:23:30
SPEAKER_09: Um all of Melissa's um cool insta and info would be in our show notes.
• 2:23:36
SPEAKER_09: Yes, and her books are good, so read them.
• 2:23:39
  SPEAKER_09: Read them.
• 2:23:42
  SPEAKER_09: Yes.
• 2:23:42
SPEAKER_09: We want a good character arc, as we discussed here.
• 2:23:45
SPEAKER_09: Hers are much better than the writers gave their characters, okay?
• 2:23:52
SPEAKER_00: I I yeah, at least the women, at least the women.
• 2:23:55
  SPEAKER_00: The women, yeah, yes.
• 2:23:56
SPEAKER_00: Definitely the women get their due in my books.
• 2:23:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:23:58
  SPEAKER_00: Power to the people.
• 2:23:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:24:00
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 2:24:02
SPEAKER_09: Am I allowed to do that?
• 2:24:03
  SPEAKER_09: I there's there's this, there's this.
• 2:24:06
SPEAKER_09: I forget, you know, there's yeah, the pens, and then and then there's yeah.
• 2:24:13
  SPEAKER_09: I'll go this.
• 2:24:14
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:24:14
SPEAKER_09: Other than this, you know.
• 2:24:16
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm more like save a horse by the cowboy.
• 2:24:21
SPEAKER_00: Then you do need to come down here, and I definitely gotta do your hair so you can get that cowboy, yeah.
• 2:24:25
SPEAKER_02: See is all about those cowboys and that parade that you mentioned.
• 2:24:29
SPEAKER_00: Oh, in February, in February, so right around Valentine's Day.
• 2:24:33
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
• 2:24:34
  SPEAKER_00: You know what?
• 2:24:34
  SPEAKER_00: You know what?
• 2:24:34
SPEAKER_09: I'm not going to the podcast conventionally, so I'm sorry.
• 2:24:37
SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna I'm save my money for the uh for the rodeo.
• 2:24:41
SPEAKER_09: Sorry, a six-foot tall, bearded, tatted cowboy who likes to hike.
• 2:24:46
  SPEAKER_09: That's what I that's yeah, that's there's quite a few of them.
• 2:24:49
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:24:50
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
• 2:24:52
SPEAKER_09: As long as they want like a little city girl, five foot nothing spinner.
• 2:24:56
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:25:00
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:25:06
SPEAKER_10: But I think on some of the things.
• 2:25:09
SPEAKER_01: Oh no, I hope they understood it all.
• 2:25:10
  SPEAKER_10: It's yeah, it's hilarious.
• 2:25:12
SPEAKER_01: I hope they got it all.
• 2:25:14
  SPEAKER_10: Ask your mom.
• 2:25:15
SPEAKER_10: She was like, Oh my god, that's your dad, rather.
• 2:25:18
  SPEAKER_02: Don't don't do that.
• 2:25:22
SPEAKER_10: Hey mom, what does this mean?
• 2:25:24
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, everyone who's like everyone listening is 18 over, okay.
• 2:25:27
  SPEAKER_10: You know what?
• 2:25:28
SPEAKER_10: Yeah, we live in the future.
• 2:25:30
SPEAKER_00: We have Google, so right.
• 2:25:33
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, golly.
• 2:25:34
  SPEAKER_00: Right, hello.
• 2:25:35
SPEAKER_00: Google, these kids know more.
• 2:25:36
SPEAKER_00: Trust me, I'm doing their hair.
• 2:25:38
SPEAKER_00: They are already very aware of every sexual identity that can be by the time they're old enough to watch Lost.
• 2:25:45
SPEAKER_09: So yeah, mind you, and so they're they're Googling, they're like, Mom, that uh how I got here.
• 2:25:54
  SPEAKER_09: No, I'm sorry, yeah.
• 2:25:56
  SPEAKER_09: Now I see.
• 2:25:58
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 2:25:58
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:26:00
  SPEAKER_01: And appropriate.
• 2:26:02
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 2:26:03
  SPEAKER_01: Oh no, it's good.
• 2:26:03
  SPEAKER_01: I love it.
• 2:26:04
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 2:26:05
SPEAKER_02: But seriously, like Agnes said, thank you so much.
• 2:26:08
  SPEAKER_02: Like, really, oh yes.
• 2:26:10
SPEAKER_02: Recording with you is is fun, and the second time was just as fun as the first time.
• 2:26:16
  SPEAKER_02: So we I agree.
• 2:26:17
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
• 2:26:18
SPEAKER_02: Don't you feel like you're just you're home now?
• 2:26:20
  SPEAKER_02: Like it duh, yeah.
• 2:26:21
SPEAKER_02: I feel like you're all my girls.
• 2:26:23
SPEAKER_02: The invitation stands in person on Zoom, whatever.
• 2:26:28
SPEAKER_02: Executive decision has just been made by both of us at the same time.
• 2:26:32
  SPEAKER_09: Okay.
• 2:26:32
SPEAKER_09: I mean, to be fair, you know.
• 2:26:34
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:26:34
  SPEAKER_02: We share a brain.
• 2:26:35
  SPEAKER_02: I like the signs.
• 2:26:37
SPEAKER_02: I say shit, she backs me.
• 2:26:39
  SPEAKER_02: It works.
• 2:26:40
  SPEAKER_02: It didn't work out.
• 2:26:41
SPEAKER_02: And then a week later, like, so when I agree to I'm still in.
• 2:26:46
SPEAKER_10: I just kind of did all the details.
• 2:26:47
  SPEAKER_10: Yeah, she's still in.
• 2:26:48
SPEAKER_02: She just doesn't know what it is.
• 2:26:49
SPEAKER_02: Is that really my signature?
• 2:26:51
  SPEAKER_02: I don't remember that.
• 2:26:52
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:26:53
  SPEAKER_02: When did I buy a house?
• 2:26:54
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:26:55
  SPEAKER_02: And a new car.
• 2:26:56
  SPEAKER_07: I didn't want that car.
• 2:26:57
  SPEAKER_07: Who's driving my car?
• 2:27:00
SPEAKER_07: Meanwhile, back in the fall, he says, kidnap me.
• 2:27:05
  SPEAKER_02: That will happen soon.
• 2:27:07
SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, but I'm not going to Wisconsin anytime soon.
• 2:27:10
SPEAKER_09: So I have very expensive taste, Lisa.
• 2:27:12
SPEAKER_09: You have no idea what you're getting yourself into.
• 2:27:14
  SPEAKER_09: You can't kidnap me.
• 2:27:18
  SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
• 2:27:22
SPEAKER_02: Wait, wait, what is it?
• 2:27:23
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:27:25
  SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
• 2:27:28
  SPEAKER_00: Where's my cat?
• 2:27:29
SPEAKER_00: I know I was about to say, where's your cat?
• 2:27:31
  SPEAKER_00: There you go.
• 2:27:32
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 2:27:34
SPEAKER_02: There's no cats around here when I need one.
• 2:27:36
  SPEAKER_00: Say hi.
• 2:27:37
SPEAKER_09: My cat's always with me.
• 2:27:39
SPEAKER_09: No, he does not have my side.
• 2:27:42
SPEAKER_09: My cat comes up here.
• 2:27:43
SPEAKER_02: He heads butt he headbutts the door.
• 2:27:45
SPEAKER_02: And so I've been squirting him because at two o'clock in the morning.
• 2:27:51
  SPEAKER_03: Oh goodness.
• 2:27:52
SPEAKER_03: This is not what you want.
• 2:27:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:27:54
SPEAKER_02: So I've I've been trying to get him out of the habit so he doesn't really come over here anymore because he gets sometimes.
• 2:28:04
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:28:04
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:28:07
  SPEAKER_02: What's that?
• 2:28:07
  SPEAKER_02: What's what's that, mom?
• 2:28:08
  SPEAKER_02: What's that?
• 2:28:10
  SPEAKER_02: Hello there.
• 2:28:11
  SPEAKER_02: What were you doing?
• 2:28:15
SPEAKER_02: Pull some fuzz out of her mouth.
• 2:28:17
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you want to back?
• 2:28:20
  SPEAKER_02: All right.
• 2:28:21
  SPEAKER_02: Um no, but seriously.
• 2:28:23
  SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
• 2:28:24
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:28:25
SPEAKER_02: The invitation stands, like we said, for sure.
• 2:28:28
  SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
• 2:28:28
SPEAKER_02: Next series, and possibly when we do the lost documentary.
• 2:28:33
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, sweet.
• 2:28:34
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:28:35
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:28:35
SPEAKER_09: Agnes is like, no, no, no.
• 2:28:37
SPEAKER_02: Two against one, you've been outvoted.
• 2:28:38
  SPEAKER_09: Well, you know what?
• 2:28:39
SPEAKER_09: What about Melissa and Lisa just do it?
• 2:28:44
SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, it's the spice we need both of you.
• 2:28:47
SPEAKER_00: Whoever is the third, whoever's the third person, it doesn't matter as much.
• 2:28:52
SPEAKER_09: It needs to be the birthday.
• 2:28:53
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:28:53
  SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
• 2:28:54
  SPEAKER_09: We're not doing a documentary.
• 2:28:55
SPEAKER_09: No, we're not doing that, Lisa.
• 2:28:56
  SPEAKER_09: It's just a one-off.
• 2:28:58
  SPEAKER_09: No.
• 2:28:59
  SPEAKER_00: I can't believe I brought it.
• 2:29:01
SPEAKER_00: I feel back guilty for bringing it up.
• 2:29:02
  SPEAKER_00: We're not doing that.
• 2:29:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, we are.
• 2:29:04
SPEAKER_00: Well, she has to find a way to get to it.
• 2:29:06
SPEAKER_00: I will put it that way.
• 2:29:07
SPEAKER_00: It is it is a little bit more.
• 2:29:08
SPEAKER_02: But can't you watch it online?
• 2:29:10
SPEAKER_02: I thought that you could stream it some.
• 2:29:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:12
SPEAKER_00: Um, I there's a it's an app, but uh, I know I got to see it um when it was the live airing, the first airing, and then it was like a QA, and they had like uh Alex, Ben's daughter, was oh, okay.
• 2:29:27
SPEAKER_00: Um, and that was really God, and let me tell you, talk about a shock because now she's like an adult.
• 2:29:32
SPEAKER_00: So she's in movies where she's like, you know, making out with men, and she's like an adult woman.
• 2:29:37
SPEAKER_00: And in my head, I'm like, oh my god, she's 16.
• 2:29:39
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:39
SPEAKER_00: So for a split second, because she looks just the same.
• 2:29:42
SPEAKER_00: I mean, she's obviously a woman now, but you know, when you look at it for a split second, you're like, oh my god, it's a teenager.
• 2:29:46
SPEAKER_00: And you're like, oh wait, no, she's a grown woman making out with a handsome man.
• 2:29:49
SPEAKER_00: Let's watch more of this.
• 2:29:50
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:29:52
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh yes, she is of age and in a consenting relationship.
• 2:29:56
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
• 2:29:57
  SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
• 2:29:58
  SPEAKER_00: She's not being fluid.
• 2:29:59
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
• 2:30:00
  SPEAKER_00: That's enough.
• 2:30:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:30:01
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:30:01
SPEAKER_00: But uh, but yeah, it is available through, I forget what the app is.
• 2:30:04
  SPEAKER_00: It's like Vivio.
• 2:30:06
SPEAKER_00: And I know at I know at the uh when they did the meet and greet or whatever, the guys that created it said that they did have a lot of that content where they did ask the actors, like uh, for instance, they did ask Alex, I forget the actress's name, Tiana, I think, about what it was like to do the death scene.
• 2:30:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:30:24
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:30:24
SPEAKER_00: Uh what it was like to do the death scene.
• 2:30:26
SPEAKER_00: They just didn't put that in the documentary, but they have that footage.
• 2:30:28
SPEAKER_00: So they were like, Yeah, we could post that later.
• 2:30:31
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Oh, good gravy.
• 2:30:32
SPEAKER_00: I gotta wait for all this.
• 2:30:33
SPEAKER_00: You know, I kind of just want I'm one of those people that give it to me all or give me nothing, you know.
• 2:30:38
SPEAKER_09: That's why I kind of like watching TV in 2024, because I can just bench watch everything.
• 2:30:43
SPEAKER_09: I could like, oh, I'll wait till it's over.
• 2:30:45
SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and just call it exactly.
• 2:30:47
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm not here waiting around, I want it done in a day.
• 2:30:50
SPEAKER_09: And when is the series over?
• 2:30:51
SPEAKER_09: Okay, then I'll watch it.
• 2:30:53
SPEAKER_09: That way I can just work.
• 2:30:54
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, when Lost was on regular TV, my husband and I would always watch together.
• 2:31:01
SPEAKER_02: And we would D VR, we had a D VR, so we would D VR it.
• 2:31:06
SPEAKER_02: And then it was like his schedule is very unpredictable, so I never knew if he if he was gonna be there like the day it aired or the next day.
• 2:31:17
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I'd have to wait till like the weekend.
• 2:31:20
SPEAKER_02: And then it got to the point where we would watch the episode, it would end on a cliffhanger, and he would be even more frustrated than I was.
• 2:31:28
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:31:29
SPEAKER_02: And then he decided that we're not gonna watch until two or three episodes have recorded, and I'm like, Okay, what the fuck are you doing to me?
• 2:31:40
SPEAKER_02: And he was like, But I can't wait for the cliffhanger.
• 2:31:42
SPEAKER_02: And I was like, But you fucking moron, like we're waiting now four weeks.
• 2:31:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 2:31:47
  SPEAKER_00: A whole month.
• 2:31:48
SPEAKER_00: And plus at the time people were talking about it, so you could have been spoiled, yeah.
• 2:31:52
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 2:31:53
SPEAKER_02: And we used to do game night like almost every week.
• 2:31:57
SPEAKER_02: Our friends that we did game night with would they watch the show also, so it's like you can't talk about it.
• 2:32:04
SPEAKER_02: Like, don't don't did you see no, don't talk about it.
• 2:32:07
  SPEAKER_02: Please don't say anything.
• 2:32:08
SPEAKER_02: And it's like, oh goodness.
• 2:32:14
SPEAKER_02: It got to the point where I just cheated and I just watched it without him and then pretended like I didn't see it.
• 2:32:21
SPEAKER_09: I was like, Oh, the lies come out now.
• 2:32:24
  SPEAKER_09: I can't do that now.
• 2:32:25
SPEAKER_09: But meanwhile, that's how you watch TV now.
• 2:32:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
• 2:32:30
SPEAKER_01: That's the only way you watch TV.
• 2:32:32
SPEAKER_00: Well, that's how I that's how me and my husband watch a lot of shows because we watch a lot of reality TV competition shows.
• 2:32:39
SPEAKER_00: So I'll watch it and I'll get all the drama, and then when we then we'll watch it together and I'll fast forward and be like, oh yeah, so she's fighting with her, so that's why that's why this next vote is gonna happen like this.
• 2:32:50
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Oh, good, yes, okay, perfect, yes, yes, yeah.
• 2:32:54
SPEAKER_00: I was like, they kissed the same boy, so now watch this vote.
• 2:32:57
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Okay, all right, good, yes, let's see what that yeah.
• 2:33:00
SPEAKER_02: So, but you see, but you found the perfect recipe because that works for you guys.
• 2:33:03
SPEAKER_02: I had some line of things.
• 2:33:04
  SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
• 2:33:05
SPEAKER_02: I was like, I never saw this before.
• 2:33:07
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:33:09
  SPEAKER_02: Like pretending and shit.
• 2:33:11
SPEAKER_02: Because it got to the later seasons, and I was like, oh my god, like I really want to find out.
• 2:33:16
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, and as it's wrapping up, everybody is talking about it, and it's like he wants me to wait.
• 2:33:23
SPEAKER_00: I think I do remember when the time when the time jumping started, um, because we didn't have any, we didn't have a DVR.
• 2:33:33
SPEAKER_00: Um, and he was at one point like, wait a minute, because it was when like Sun and Lapitas were going um back to where the others, the Dharma initiative and all that, and they they were like, Oh my gosh, the other people are in the 70s.
• 2:33:47
SPEAKER_00: And that's when he was like, Wait, what the hell is happening?
• 2:33:49
  SPEAKER_00: He's like, I am so confused.
• 2:33:51
SPEAKER_00: And I told him, I was like, quiet.
• 2:33:54
SPEAKER_00: And then once we got to the commercial, I was like, I don't even know what the fuck's happening, but you need to shut the fuck up so I can figure out what's happening.
• 2:34:00
SPEAKER_00: Then I'll let you know at the end of the episode.
• 2:34:01
SPEAKER_00: And he's like, All right, I'll just sit here and and look at the bees.
• 2:34:05
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll just exist, and then you let me know what I was like, okay, sounds good.
• 2:34:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:34:11
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:34:12
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:34:12
  SPEAKER_02: Um, all right, let's.
• 2:34:14
  SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
• 2:34:15
  SPEAKER_02: All right, ladies.
• 2:34:15
SPEAKER_02: We keep like no, I know we're having too much fun.
• 2:34:18
SPEAKER_00: But I gotta pretend, I gotta pretend like I made something for dinner.
• 2:34:20
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know, I gotta go off like these kids ate dinner.
• 2:34:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 2:34:24
SPEAKER_02: Um when they cut their rooms are not upstairs.
• 2:34:27
SPEAKER_02: So when I see one of them walk up the stairs, it's like they want something.
• 2:34:31
  SPEAKER_03: Uh-oh.
• 2:34:31
  SPEAKER_03: Uh-oh.
• 2:34:32
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 2:34:33
SPEAKER_02: All the ways that you can find Melissa are in the show notes.

SPEAKER_02: Please don't drink and drive.
• 2:34:57
SPEAKER_02: And until next time, I'm Lisa.
• 2:34:59
  SPEAKER_02: And I'm Agnes.
