- 0:06SPEAKER_10: Hey, I'm feeling ex extremely lucky from last week's show.
- 0:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, our superstition show.
- 0:11SPEAKER_07: I feel like embracing all the superstitions help us to shake off all the bad luck almost.
- 0:17SPEAKER_10: I went out and you know, every time I'd see a black cat, I would reach up and grab it and put it in front of me, and then when it walked out, perfectly.
- 0:27SPEAKER_07: Okay, I'm gonna tell something I should have told it on last week's show, but I'm gonna tell it now.
- 0:31SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 0:32SPEAKER_07: So when I was a kid, my mom had a really mean boyfriend, and he was extremely superstitious.
- 0:37SPEAKER_07: After a while, we moved from where we were originally living near him, and we moved here to New Mexico, and we bought a black cat specifically to keep him away.
- 0:47SPEAKER_07: So to this day, I think of black cats as good luck because it kept that awful man away from us.
- 0:52SPEAKER_10: There you go.
- 0:54SPEAKER_10: Well, I you know, I don't know.
- 0:55SPEAKER_10: I feed those stray cats.
- 0:57SPEAKER_10: I used to feed them all the time until I just Well, they were crapping in my flower bed.
- 1:03SPEAKER_07: Hey, I mean and I don't know, it's free manure for your flower bed.
- 1:06SPEAKER_10: But is cat crap good enough?
- 1:09SPEAKER_10: Is it okay?
- 1:11SPEAKER_07: If it is in the you ever see that movie The Martian?
- 1:14SPEAKER_07: I don't know with Matt Damon where he's trapped on Mars.
- 1:17SPEAKER_10: Oh no, no, I haven't.
- 1:18SPEAKER_07: Oh my god, Dave, it's so good you have to see it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_07: I'll do uh Ren Rance on it today if you watch it.
- 1:23SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 1:24SPEAKER_07: But um yeah, if you've seen The Martian, you know where I'm getting at with that.
- 1:28SPEAKER_07: Manure is manure.
- 1:29SPEAKER_10: Manure is manure.
- 1:30SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 1:31SPEAKER_07: And this show is about none of that.
- 1:33SPEAKER_07: It's about driving and cars.
- 1:35SPEAKER_10: Well, that could be a lot of manure when you get upset at somebody in front of you.
- 1:39SPEAKER_10: You want to sling some manure.
- 1:41SPEAKER_07: There you go.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: Good point.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: Or maybe the whole idea of uh road rage is manure in and of itself.
- 1:47SPEAKER_10: There you go.
- 1:47SPEAKER_10: Well, let's do it.
- 1:48SPEAKER_10: I'm excited.
- 1:49SPEAKER_07: Let's get started.
- 1:49SPEAKER_07: I'm excited for this show.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Turn it up.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: I know you're already tuned in.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: The wake-up call coming at you with great tunes and as much information and funny stuff they can muster.

- 2:15unknown: Ask the girl what she wanted to be.
- 2:19unknown: She said, baby, can't you see?
- 2:23SPEAKER_13: I wanna be famous.
- 2:24SPEAKER_13: Start with a scream.
- 2:26SPEAKER_13: What you can do is the baby between.
- 2:30SPEAKER_13: Baby dop.
- 2:34SPEAKER_13: Yes, I wanna be the stall Baby top.
- 2:41SPEAKER_13: Baby I don't like the top.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Baby looking at the top of the top Baby top, baby on the Baby und Wig, I don't talk, and the dog Baby put them up at the top on the beat up top Baby put them up at the top.

- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Beep, beep, beep beep, beep, beep.
- 4:30SPEAKER_07: Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, yeah.
- 4:33SPEAKER_07: That was, I mean, you have one guess.
- 4:35SPEAKER_07: Who was that, Dave?
- 4:37SPEAKER_10: Uh, let's see.
- 4:38SPEAKER_10: Um, would would that be the um would that be the booties?
- 4:42SPEAKER_10: I mean uh the Beatles?
- 4:45SPEAKER_07: There were man they should have named themselves the Booties.
- 4:48SPEAKER_07: That would be pretty good.
- 4:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, of course.
- 4:49SPEAKER_07: That was the Beatles with drive my car.
- 4:51SPEAKER_07: And it goes along with the theme that we're doing today on the wake-up call, W U C here on KSJE.
- 4:58SPEAKER_10: KSJE, nice, which is uh driving.
- 5:02SPEAKER_07: Driving cars, you know.
- 5:04SPEAKER_10: And what you do driving me crazy?
- 5:07SPEAKER_07: That too.
- 5:08SPEAKER_10: That works.
- 5:08unknown: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_07: I definitely have the wheel in your head and I turn.
- 5:12SPEAKER_10: No, you do.
- 5:14SPEAKER_07: But specifically too, we want to talk about driving safe.
- 5:17SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 5:17SPEAKER_07: Because oh my god, do people take for granted the fact that cars are dangerous?
- 5:22SPEAKER_07: Or or you know, they they don't realize how dangerous cars can be.
- 5:26SPEAKER_07: They take for granted that a car will just get them from point A to point B.
- 5:31SPEAKER_10: People.
- 5:32SPEAKER_10: Yes, the left lane is the fast lane.
- 5:37SPEAKER_10: It is move your butt over to the right lane if you're gonna drive the speed limit or slower.
- 5:42SPEAKER_07: Yes, if you are not trying to pass the people in the right lane, get out of the left lane.
- 5:47SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 5:48SPEAKER_07: I think that makes the roads unsafer.
- 5:50SPEAKER_10: You know what I think?
- 5:52SPEAKER_10: I think everybody should take offensive driving every year, whether they need it or not.
- 5:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah, period.
- 5:58SPEAKER_10: Because you learn more and more about how to drive properly.
- 6:01SPEAKER_10: Well, it's kind of like And respecting each other.
- 6:04SPEAKER_10: We all have to share the roadway.
- 6:06SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 6:06SPEAKER_07: What was it?
- 6:07SPEAKER_07: What's that good um tip somebody gave me one time?
- 6:09SPEAKER_07: They were like, imagine that everybody in front of you is your grandma or someone's grandma.
- 6:18SPEAKER_07: You know, even if they're driving dumb, remember that this is that's Ethel! She gives out caramels to her grandchildren when they visit her.
- 6:26SPEAKER_07: She's just a sweet lady.
- 6:28SPEAKER_07: Let don't curse at her and run her off the road.
- 6:31SPEAKER_07: Oh my god.
- 6:32SPEAKER_10: You know, years ago when I lived uh both in well, I lived in Texas, but drove into Colorado and into New Mexico.
- 6:39SPEAKER_10: Um because I was from here, but back and forth kind of thing.
- 6:42SPEAKER_10: Texas, in the state of Texas, those in those days, I think it's changed somewhat.
- 6:47SPEAKER_10: They were some of the safest, friendliest drivers.
- 6:50SPEAKER_10: You know, they were very uh accommodating drivers, okay?
- 6:56SPEAKER_10: They got over, they did what they needed to do, except when they were driving in Colorado.
- 7:03SPEAKER_10: This is the God's honest truth.
- 7:05SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 7:05SPEAKER_10: Texans in Colorado drive in the middle of the road at five miles per hour because they're awestruck by the mountain.
- 7:12SPEAKER_10: I don't know what it is.
- 7:14SPEAKER_10: What's that over there?
- 7:15SPEAKER_13: We don't got that in Texas.
- 7:17SPEAKER_10: Yeah, purely.
- 7:18SPEAKER_10: Oh my god.
- 7:19SPEAKER_10: You see, I lived in Colorado really irritated me.
- 7:22SPEAKER_07: Well, you gotta think about it.
- 7:24SPEAKER_07: Isn't it always no matter where you go, it's always the out-of-staters that are the bad drivers, and it's almost as if it's because they're not used to the local roads.
- 7:34SPEAKER_10: Maybe, I don't know.
- 7:35SPEAKER_07: I think that's what it usually is.
- 7:37SPEAKER_07: Like if you hear people here in New Mexico, they're like, people from Utah drive the worst.
- 7:42SPEAKER_07: And it's like, well, it's because they don't understand how the roads work here.
- 7:46SPEAKER_07: They don't understand our desert roads.
- 7:50SPEAKER_07: That's that's that's my uh devil's advocate.
- 7:53SPEAKER_10: There's a song for you right there, our desert roads.
- 7:56SPEAKER_07: Take me home, desert roads to the plateau.
- 8:00SPEAKER_07: That I'm in the Oh man.
- 8:05SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 8:05SPEAKER_07: So I did play the Beatles, drive my car, and I wanted real quick to let everybody know, if you didn't already know about it, they are creating four different Beatles films, each one following a different Beatle, currently, right now.
- 8:18SPEAKER_07: And they're like, Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_07: There's one for Paul McCartney, there's one for George, there's one for John, there's one for Ringo, and they're gonna be released uh sometime in the future.
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: 2028 is what it says on Wikipedia.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, cool.
- 8:32SPEAKER_07: 2028 is when their films are gonna be released, and I'm just super, super excited.
- 8:35SPEAKER_07: I just wanted to get the word out because I I am the film person, the the film person on this show.
- 8:41SPEAKER_10: You're the movie goddess.
- 8:42SPEAKER_07: I am the movie goddess, and everybody loves every movie I recommend.
- 8:47SPEAKER_10: Well, you've recommended some that you didn't care for, uh because I was listening to the past shows, and there's been one or two.
- 8:52SPEAKER_10: Where I've talked about I didn't like them.
- 8:54SPEAKER_10: But you at least gave them a chance.
- 8:57SPEAKER_07: Um, like uh what was the last one I said that I didn't like?
- 9:01SPEAKER_07: I can't think of it.
- 9:02SPEAKER_07: I remember I did one for the Odyssey.
- 9:04SPEAKER_07: I think that was the last Ren Rance I did was for the Odyssey.
- 9:06SPEAKER_07: And that one was pretty good.
- 9:08SPEAKER_07: I actually liked it more the second time around.
- 9:10SPEAKER_07: I uh me and my mom drove all the way to Albuquerque three hours away to watch it in IMAX because the director of the Odyssey uh was making a big deal that if oh if you're not watching it in IMAX, you're missing some things.
- 9:22SPEAKER_07: It was shot in IMAX.
- 9:23SPEAKER_07: And it looked great in IMAX, but okay.
- 9:26SPEAKER_07: Shout out to every IMAX theater in the world.
- 9:30SPEAKER_07: Your speakers are too loud.
- 9:33SPEAKER_07: I had to cover my ears at points because it was so loud.
- 9:36SPEAKER_07: There's no way that it was supposed to be that loud.
- 9:39SPEAKER_07: That's my opinion.
- 9:42SPEAKER_07: Back to the theme.
- 9:44SPEAKER_07: Where we're talking about cars.
- 9:47SPEAKER_07: Cars and driving.
- 9:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah, driving correctly.
- 9:50SPEAKER_07: Driving correctly is a big one.
- 9:52SPEAKER_07: We want to push.
- 9:53SPEAKER_07: Drive normally like a normal human being.
- 9:55SPEAKER_10: And I urge you to take driving again.
- 9:58SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 9:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 9:59SPEAKER_07: Just to refresh your idea of of your your your common sense of how to drive.
- 10:05SPEAKER_07: It should be like any other license that you have to get.
- 10:08SPEAKER_07: Every couple of years you have to take another test to renew it.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: It's kind of weird that uh we we take the test once as teenagers and then we never have to take it ever again.
- 10:18SPEAKER_07: That's a little weird to me.
- 10:20SPEAKER_10: Unless you get ticketed two or three times.
- 10:25SPEAKER_07: Alright, alright.
- 10:26SPEAKER_07: This is Gary Newman with Cars, a classic car song about how he feels safest of all in his car.
- 10:32SPEAKER_10: There it is, September 20th, and I'm driving in my car.
- 10:57SPEAKER_15: I was thinking, I can't, you know, and parts.
- 11:08SPEAKER_15: I don't know if I think I cannot understand.
- 11:33SPEAKER_15: There I got the town, but you've been playing by door in the car.
- 14:00SPEAKER_12: I'm on the road again.
- 14:07SPEAKER_12: I'm on the road again.
- 14:10SPEAKER_12: I got the first time a couple in the rain and snow.
- 14:22SPEAKER_12: In the rain and snow.
- 14:25SPEAKER_12: You know the first time a couple in the rain and snow.
- 14:30SPEAKER_12: In the rain and snow, no, I didn't know they go.
- 14:43SPEAKER_12: I want to squawn.
- 14:50SPEAKER_12: I want to squawn.
- 14:54SPEAKER_12: She's a lot of money.
- 16:43SPEAKER_07: Canned Heat with On the Road again.
- 16:46SPEAKER_10: Well, that song's been out there a long while.
- 16:48SPEAKER_10: I used to play that back in the day for sure.
- 16:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I really like canned heat.
- 16:53SPEAKER_07: I like I like the lead singers kind of false it over Yeah, he's kind of all over the place.
- 17:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:01SPEAKER_07: He can go real low, he can go real high, yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_07: He's all over the place in the way.
- 17:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I I uh I tell you, I I I I can't travel in a car.
- 17:11SPEAKER_10: I can't travel much at all anymore due to my condition.
- 17:13SPEAKER_10: But I used to love to get in a car, turn the radio up nice and loud.
- 17:18SPEAKER_10: Usually I'd have a mix tape or something.
- 17:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:21SPEAKER_10: Um and then of course when we became famous eight years ago, oh yeah.
- 17:26SPEAKER_10: I had us play, you know, I listened to all of our shows.
- 17:29SPEAKER_07: We got a pretty good music mix.
- 17:31SPEAKER_07: I'm I'm not just saying that because I'm the one who chooses it.
- 17:34SPEAKER_07: I think we got a pretty good music mix.
- 17:35SPEAKER_10: You know what's funny is the the nice thing about it too is that um you know it's not like a typical radio station where once you get out of uh range, you gotta change stations.
- 17:46SPEAKER_10: You know, you can put this on in your car and be uh uh take uh if you're doing the internet thing, you can go all the way somewhere.
- 17:56SPEAKER_07: Like I know that's a good idea.
- 17:57SPEAKER_07: I know a lot of services allow you to download something before you lose signal so that you can you know listen to us uninterrupted.
- 18:06SPEAKER_10: That's right.
- 18:06SPEAKER_10: We're on we're on Amazon, we're on uh Pandora, which is a good web.
- 18:10SPEAKER_10: We're on Apple Music, we're on Apple, yeah.
- 18:12SPEAKER_07: Very cool.
- 18:13SPEAKER_07: We're on our own website, too.
- 18:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah, InnerWestconcepts.com, all one word, all over case.
- 18:18SPEAKER_07: I-n T E R W E S T C O N C E P T S.
- 18:24SPEAKER_07: I've been watching you do it for years.
- 18:28SPEAKER_10: That was impressive, pretty sure.
- 18:30unknown: Thank you.
- 18:31SPEAKER_07: It was like something awoke in me, and I just had to prove myself in that second.
- 18:36SPEAKER_10: Uh you know, we're still working on uh swag too and bling.
- 18:39SPEAKER_10: As a matter of fact, I'm gonna work on that this weekend to see if we can't get some of that.
- 18:43SPEAKER_07: At the very least, we should have some coffee cups.
- 18:45SPEAKER_10: Um I do have some great looking coffee cups, our new logo, uh, which God I want to thank Scott for just not Scott Minklin, but uh an old friend Scott, known him since high school.
- 18:57SPEAKER_10: He was actually one of my brother's good friends.
- 18:59SPEAKER_10: But he was the one that did the design on the new logo.
- 19:02SPEAKER_10: Excellent.
- 19:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it looks great.
- 19:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 19:04SPEAKER_07: I'm thrilled.
- 19:04SPEAKER_10: The little coffee ring spot.
- 19:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah, just oh, it's so well done.
- 19:09SPEAKER_07: I'm so excited for people to see it.
- 19:11unknown: Yeah.
- 19:12SPEAKER_10: Anyway, but yeah, you can get all of that on our webpage.
- 19:14SPEAKER_10: Plus, uh eventually we're working on it, you can do sponsorships, and man, we need some help.
- 19:19SPEAKER_10: We really need help.
- 19:21SPEAKER_10: Um I mean, we don't have to have the money, but it'd just be nice to help us.
- 19:25SPEAKER_10: It does help us.
- 19:26SPEAKER_10: We're human beings.
- 19:27SPEAKER_10: There's expenses that we have for this.
- 19:29SPEAKER_10: That's all I want.
- 19:30SPEAKER_07: And the reality is that they're I like when I'm like, we're human beings.
- 19:35SPEAKER_07: Give us sponsorship.
- 19:37SPEAKER_07: No, um what it is is that, you know, just like any other uh venture, it costs money to do things.
- 19:43SPEAKER_07: It costs money to get them to have our uh music accounts, it costs money to have electricity and to pay for our equipment.
- 19:51SPEAKER_10: If you're enjoying it, please um just drop us just drop us a we'll give you a shout out.
- 19:58SPEAKER_10: We'll do whatever whatever you want.

- 20:10SPEAKER_10: Verbal spots.
- 20:11SPEAKER_07: You can make me say whatever is within reason.
- 20:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_07: If your name is John Smith and you just want to talk about how your rutabaga farm is doing really well this season, please be like, and shout out to our sponsor John Smith and his rutabagas.

- 20:34SPEAKER_07: Order yours today, we'll do it.
- 20:36SPEAKER_07: Actually, speaking of, I don't think I've ever had a rutabaga.
- 20:38SPEAKER_07: Are they any good?
- 20:39SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_07: They're good?
- 20:41SPEAKER_07: My grandpa hates them.
- 20:43SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 20:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, he hates them.
- 20:45SPEAKER_10: Well, I guess, you know, it's an acquired taste, which is for sure.
- 20:48SPEAKER_10: What are they, like spicy?
- 20:50SPEAKER_10: Like the one that looks like celery, but I can't remember what it is.
- 20:53SPEAKER_10: It looks like celery, but it's red.
- 20:55SPEAKER_07: Oh, and they make pies out of it.
- 20:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah, rutabaga.
- 20:58SPEAKER_07: No, not rutabaga.
- 20:59SPEAKER_07: Is it not?
- 21:00SPEAKER_07: No, because we just said rutabaga.
- 21:02SPEAKER_07: Rhutabagas are like the the like they're underground.
- 21:05SPEAKER_07: We're thinking of rhubarb.
- 21:06SPEAKER_10: Rhubarb, that's it.
- 21:07SPEAKER_10: Rhubarb pie.
- 21:08SPEAKER_07: I love a strawberry rhubarb pie.
- 21:09SPEAKER_07: They're good.
- 21:10SPEAKER_10: I can tell you, I found out the hard way.
- 21:11SPEAKER_10: Do not eat the greens.
- 21:13SPEAKER_07: No.
- 21:14SPEAKER_10: They are poisonous.
- 21:15SPEAKER_07: They will make you sick.
- 21:16SPEAKER_07: That's right.
- 21:17SPEAKER_10: I ate some.
- 21:18SPEAKER_10: I had rutabaga.
- 21:19SPEAKER_10: We had rhubarb.
- 21:20SPEAKER_10: We had rhubarb growing wild rhubarb in the house that I had bought.
- 21:23SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_10: It was rhubarb back then, like, oh look!
- 21:26SPEAKER_07: Well, let's make a salad out of it.
- 21:28SPEAKER_07: These leaves look so delicious.
- 21:30SPEAKER_10: Actually, I did them like you would the greens.
- 21:32SPEAKER_10: I did them like a green.
- 21:33SPEAKER_07: Oh, like, yeah, you fried them.
- 21:34SPEAKER_10: Because they kind of look like greens when they get big and most other plants, you can eat the greens just fine.
- 21:41SPEAKER_10: Don't do these then.
- 21:41SPEAKER_07: No, no, no, no, no.
- 21:42SPEAKER_10: Oh, the pie those oh my god.
- 21:44SPEAKER_10: I love it because it really is sour.
- 21:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 21:47SPEAKER_07: It's good.
- 21:48SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 21:48SPEAKER_10: It's I don't know.
- 21:49SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 21:50SPEAKER_10: So I don't know.
- 21:50SPEAKER_07: Tart maybe.
- 21:52SPEAKER_10: Tart, tart is it.
- 21:53SPEAKER_07: Tart is it.
- 21:54SPEAKER_07: I just I love anything that's got a good tartness and it cuts into the sweetness of those strawberries.
- 21:58SPEAKER_07: So have you ever tried a strawberry?
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: Rhubarb pie, check it out.
- 22:01SPEAKER_10: That's why they put the strawberry in there.
- 22:03SPEAKER_10: I did them without strawberries when I had the bakery, but I did them both ways.
- 22:07SPEAKER_07: You did just a straight rhubarb pie.
- 22:09SPEAKER_07: I did, I did.
- 22:10SPEAKER_07: How did that turn out?
- 22:11SPEAKER_10: Well, it was okay, and I put fresh farmed honey, in other words, from people at local beekeepers.
- 22:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:16SPEAKER_10: The honey and the rhubarb really kind of complimented each other.
- 22:19SPEAKER_10: I don't know how to do it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_10: At first I thought this is not a good idea.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: No, that's my thought.
- 22:24SPEAKER_10: Yeah, but it actually turned out pretty good.
- 22:26SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 22:27SPEAKER_10: I I I impressed myself.
- 22:30SPEAKER_07: Well, I can see that.
- 22:31SPEAKER_07: There's that old, very famous depression era recipe, water pie.
- 22:37SPEAKER_07: Have you ever heard of water pie?
- 22:38SPEAKER_07: No.
- 22:39SPEAKER_07: Where you like the main ingredient is water, but you mix it with sugar and you mix it with vanilla and you mix it with spices and stuff, and then you cook it up and you reduce it, and then it almost turns into like caramel, and like it's it's like buttery and sweet and really good.
- 22:52SPEAKER_10: You know, a pecan pie is that's all it is is sugar and water pretty much.
- 22:56SPEAKER_10: It's basically pecans on top, and you know, but yeah.
- 22:59SPEAKER_07: Did you ever try the pie that was supposed to be an apple pie, but it was made with crackers?
- 23:05SPEAKER_10: No, I've seen that.
- 23:06SPEAKER_10: You've seen that.
- 23:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah, but that to me you know, once again, my mom's apple pie was the one that got me started with that whole business.
- 23:12SPEAKER_10: Absolutely.
- 23:13SPEAKER_10: I don't know.
- 23:14SPEAKER_10: It took me forever to put green chili in it, and I don't think I could go that far to make it.
- 23:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 23:20SPEAKER_07: Oh, I don't know.
- 23:21SPEAKER_07: If I owned a bakery, I feel like I would try to do gourmet versions of Depression Era recipes.
- 23:26SPEAKER_10: That's not a bad idea.
- 23:27SPEAKER_07: That would be fun.
- 23:27SPEAKER_07: Just to just for the experiment, okay?
- 23:29SPEAKER_07: Just for the experiment.
- 23:30SPEAKER_10: Well, you know, if we do get the bakery up and running, which there's talk of that again, then we will do some of that.
- 23:35SPEAKER_10: We'll have some fun, but we'll let people know.
- 23:37SPEAKER_07: Why not?
- 23:37SPEAKER_07: Like it's always been my goal to make a really good um what's the Christmas cake that everybody hates?
- 23:44SPEAKER_07: I'm blanking on what it's called.
- 23:45SPEAKER_07: Fruitcake.
- 23:46SPEAKER_07: Fruitcake.
- 23:46SPEAKER_07: I really want to do a really good, dense, delicious fruitcake.
- 23:50SPEAKER_10: You know it's funny because I like fruitcake.
- 23:52SPEAKER_10: You do I do, yeah.
- 23:53SPEAKER_07: Well, I've heard the reason why fruitcake was so popular for so long, too, is because it was one of the few you know desserts that you could put in a can and it would last for months and months and years and years.
- 24:05SPEAKER_07: It was like all the way back to the Civil War, people would send people fruitcakes.
- 24:11SPEAKER_10: Anyway, we're we're talking not to say I haven't had bad fruitcake, but and I was in my car driving when I was eating it.
- 24:19SPEAKER_07: There you go.
- 24:21SPEAKER_07: Which is to say, this is our driving show where we're talking about driving driving songs.
- 24:27SPEAKER_07: And this one's by T-Rex.
- 24:29SPEAKER_07: This is called Jeepster.
- 24:31SPEAKER_10: Jeepster.
- 24:32SPEAKER_10: Hey, I I got King a segue today.
- 24:35SPEAKER_10: You got it.
- 24:35SPEAKER_07: You got it.
- 24:37SPEAKER_07: Thank you for taking a little bit of the stress off me.
- 24:40SPEAKER_10: Tiara, but give me that tiara.
- 24:42SPEAKER_07: It's all yours, buddy.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: You're so sweet.
- 24:54SPEAKER_04: You're so bad.
- 24:56SPEAKER_04: I want your thing to be mad.
- 25:00SPEAKER_04: You're my baby, my love.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: Oh God, just for your love.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: We've got this.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Got the universe in your hair, with your bed.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, but I'm just for your love.
- 25:57SPEAKER_04: Let's call you.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: I call it one if you don't just go back.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: Oh god, I'm just cheap.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: You find up being tomatoes to you.
- 28:41SPEAKER_08: Too much of a good thing?
- 28:43SPEAKER_08: Hardly.
- 28:44SPEAKER_08: More of the wake-up call is coming up.
- 29:28SPEAKER_08: Well, we know, well, we go.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: What we don't know.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: Well we can.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: What we can say, what we say we've not loved.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: And we know what we want to do.
- 29:58SPEAKER_06: It's time to look at all that.
- 33:45SPEAKER_07: We're on a road to nowhere, apparently.
- 33:48SPEAKER_07: And that was uh the talking heads.
- 33:50SPEAKER_10: Story of my life.
- 33:51SPEAKER_07: There you go.
- 33:52SPEAKER_10: You know, whatever I gotta say, even when you say it now, and I realize that whenever you whenever I when I introduce the talking heads, when you introduce the talking heads, I in the in what comes to mind is just a bunch of heads floating.
- 34:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 34:07SPEAKER_10: Just floating out there somewhere.
- 34:08SPEAKER_07: I don't know whether they intended it to be that way or though I think it's a reference to the concept of a talking head, which is like the idea that it's just a bunch of people speaking on a certain subject.
- 34:22SPEAKER_10: Did you hear me slurping?
- 34:23SPEAKER_10: I hope not.
- 34:25SPEAKER_10: I slurped, ladies and gentlemen.
- 34:27SPEAKER_07: I didn't, but now everybody will.
- 34:29SPEAKER_07: They'll rewind it and they'll go, yeah, I heard him slurp.
- 34:33SPEAKER_07: I heard him slurp his whiskey.
- 34:34SPEAKER_10: I'm so sorry.
- 34:35SPEAKER_10: I wasn't gonna tell him it was whiskey.
- 34:38SPEAKER_07: Well now they know.
- 34:39SPEAKER_10: Angel's Indy.
- 34:40SPEAKER_07: And and I'm drinking a little bit of gin and we're having a little bit of fun today.
- 34:43SPEAKER_07: But we're not gonna drive.
- 34:45SPEAKER_10: No, no, no, we're being safe.
- 34:47SPEAKER_10: Let me just say this.
- 34:49SPEAKER_10: Please do not drink and drive.
- 34:52SPEAKER_10: And you know, if I'm out somewhere and I'm with a bunch of people, I'll find out who is going to be the designated driver before I even lift a drink.
- 35:02SPEAKER_10: Um to make sure that everybody's gonna get home safely.
- 35:04SPEAKER_10: And I highly recommend it.
- 35:06SPEAKER_10: Absolutely.
- 35:06SPEAKER_07: You know, I wish we had I don't know, do we have Uber in this town?
- 35:11SPEAKER_07: Have you ever used Uber?
- 35:12SPEAKER_10: I have not.
- 35:13SPEAKER_10: Uber can be a little expensive, but there's taxis in the big city, but it is taxis, yeah.
- 35:18SPEAKER_07: When I was in Japan recently in Tokyo, after we got off the the plane, because for the majority of my trip to Japan, we were in Misawa up in the north.
- 35:27SPEAKER_07: And then in Tokyo for the last three days of my trip, I splurged.
- 35:34SPEAKER_07: I did spend about$90 on an Uber to get us from the airport to our hotel because oh my god, it was so much better than riding the train and not understanding where we were or what was going on, or hailing down a taxi that I didn't speak the language of, so I just ordered an Uber and he just took us right there.
- 35:53SPEAKER_10: So did they have any of the driverless ones?
- 35:55SPEAKER_10: I want to try.
- 35:56SPEAKER_10: That's what I saw.
- 35:57SPEAKER_10: Not that I saw it.
- 35:58SPEAKER_10: It makes me nervous.
- 35:59SPEAKER_07: They have those in Phoenix, you know.
- 36:00SPEAKER_10: I do, and I want to try one in the worst way.
- 36:03SPEAKER_10: I don't know why, but it makes me a ner uh I know I'll be a nervous wreck during the entire time.
- 36:08SPEAKER_10: I'm already a a backseat driver to begin with.
- 36:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but um because I've also seen some videos of those driverless cars doing b bizarre things.
- 36:17SPEAKER_07: Like, nope, but that's not allowed.
- 36:19SPEAKER_10: It's funny because uh you know, when you're driving, you you you're in control.
- 36:24SPEAKER_10: You have control, full control.
- 36:26SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 36:26SPEAKER_10: And um and I know my probably some of the reasons I don't have a relationship is I never let the woman drive.
- 36:34SPEAKER_10: So it's gonna be you.
- 36:36SPEAKER_10: Part of that was from chivalry.
- 36:37SPEAKER_07: I mean, it was just you wanted to be the one to deliver her.
- 36:41SPEAKER_10: Exactly.
- 36:42SPEAKER_10: And you know, I still am the type that'll open a door for them and that kind of stuff.
- 36:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_10: I remember I did that once on one of my dates a few years ago, and she's like, What are you doing?
- 36:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 36:51SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, Really?
- 36:54SPEAKER_07: Because I I have a complicated relationship with the the concept of chivalry.
- 36:59SPEAKER_07: First of all, first and foremost, chivalry is a knight's code.
- 37:03SPEAKER_07: It's medieval.
- 37:04SPEAKER_07: Okay, so it's a little out of out of step.
- 37:06SPEAKER_10: But second of all I'm not a young man, man.
- 37:09SPEAKER_07: Second of all, it it and is this is somebody who just appreciates it when anybody does something nice for me.
- 37:17SPEAKER_07: Chivalry, modern day definition of chivalry, depends on the idea that women are inherently weaker and can't take care of themselves, and that they need a man to do these things for them.
- 37:28SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 37:29SPEAKER_07: And that's what I mean.
- 37:29SPEAKER_07: I think a lot of people who follow chivalry today aren't doing it because they think a woman can't open up the door for herself.
- 37:36SPEAKER_07: It's just saying, hey, I respect and value you, and I want to do something nice for you and be polite.
- 37:41SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 37:42SPEAKER_10: Yeah, no, my daughter, I mean, uh I have tried to I raised her to be she is woman.
- 37:48SPEAKER_10: That's my mom taught her to say that before she could barely talk.
- 37:52SPEAKER_10: I am woman, I can do anything.
- 37:53SPEAKER_07: Absolutely.
- 37:54SPEAKER_10: You know, and I have I feel that way wholeheartedly, period.
- 37:59SPEAKER_10: It's just I don't know, the gentleman's side of me, yeah, um, what I the way I was brought up, that Texas uh politeness and that kind of stuff.
- 38:10SPEAKER_07: Definitely.
- 38:11SPEAKER_10: Uh I just, I don't know.
- 38:12SPEAKER_10: I even though I'm half crippled, I'll still rumble to the other side of the vehicle and open the vehic open the door, you know.
- 38:19SPEAKER_07: Um and then that comes from a place of kindness and of appreciation, not of that's why I just want some people to know when women get irritated when you ask them for the dozenth time, do you want me to carry that for you?
- 38:30SPEAKER_07: Do you want me to lift that for you?
- 38:32SPEAKER_07: Do you want me to get that for you?
- 38:33SPEAKER_07: It's not because they're frustrated that you're being polite, they're frustrated because they think that you are assuming that they can't do it themselves.
- 38:42SPEAKER_07: But I believe that 95% of the guys who subscribe to chivalry these days are doing it just because they're polite.
- 38:48SPEAKER_10: Well, I just I know that you know a woman can do a lot of things that uh I can do if not better.
- 38:56SPEAKER_10: And so I try to live by that, but I'm still it's still there's that gentleman side still in me and my two boys uh, you know, I try to raise them the same way, you know.
- 39:07SPEAKER_07: And okay, let's be real, let's admit it.
- 39:09SPEAKER_07: On average, I'm not gonna say every woman and every man or every person in between.
- 39:14SPEAKER_07: It's not like this with every single person.
- 39:16SPEAKER_07: But on average, men tend to be a little bit stronger than ladies.
- 39:20SPEAKER_07: That doesn't mean a woman can't also get it done.
- 39:23SPEAKER_10: That's exactly right.
- 39:24SPEAKER_07: When I used to work for the movie theater, smarter, not harder.
- 39:27SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 39:29SPEAKER_07: And and and that's that's the trade-off that we gotta give each other respect for.
- 39:33SPEAKER_07: Men can just brute force their way through it.
- 39:35SPEAKER_07: Women have to be a little bit more crafty, but that craftiness deserves its own form of respect.
- 39:39SPEAKER_10: Absolutely.
- 39:40SPEAKER_07: When I used to work at the movie theater, we would have stock days where we would get big shipments of stock in.
- 39:47SPEAKER_07: Those popcorn bags were heavy, those those um bags.
- 39:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and those those soda bibs, you know, those the bag in boxes.
- 39:55SPEAKER_07: You'd have to carry those.
- 39:57SPEAKER_07: And I would have male coworkers who could carry three at once, like it was no problem.
- 40:01SPEAKER_07: But I always took pride in the fact that yes, I have to go one at a time.
- 40:05SPEAKER_07: Yes, it might take me a little bit longer, but I am still gonna get it done.
- 40:10SPEAKER_10: That's it.
- 40:11SPEAKER_10: Get it done.
- 40:11SPEAKER_07: And it's all about getting it done, folks, and women can do it too.
- 40:15SPEAKER_10: And uh yeah, they're just as good as drivers, uh, if not better.
- 40:19SPEAKER_07: I've heard women on average are better parkers than men because we're a little bit more careful with how we park.
- 40:28SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 40:29SPEAKER_07: I I will admit my boyfriend Derek is a safer driver than I.
- 40:35SPEAKER_07: And Derek is cleaner than I.
- 40:37SPEAKER_07: He is much better with doing with doing chores.
- 40:40SPEAKER_07: Whereas I'll just leave the dishes in the sink to do them later.
- 40:43SPEAKER_07: He's like, let's just do them now, babe.
- 40:45SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, Alright.
- 40:46SPEAKER_07: So I don't know.
- 40:48SPEAKER_07: Stereo stereotypes live do not live up to everybody's expectations.
- 40:53SPEAKER_10: It's funny because some days I'm like, okay, leave it.
- 40:55SPEAKER_10: And the other day I'm like, oh no, I gotta get all this done.
- 40:58SPEAKER_10: And you know, it seems to do when it has something that I have that I need to that I have to somewhere I need to be, but I don't want to be, so okay, I'm gonna go ahead and finish this up before I look at it.
- 41:08SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 41:08SPEAKER_07: I have to do it right now.
- 41:10SPEAKER_07: I couldn't possibly do it later.
- 41:12SPEAKER_10: And then drive.
- 41:14SPEAKER_07: And then drive.
- 41:16SPEAKER_07: And then we drive to the gig.
- 41:18SPEAKER_10: I'm you know what I'm the worst, too.
- 41:19SPEAKER_10: Let's talk about driving.
- 41:20SPEAKER_10: I am the worst about getting to some place and you know this better than anybody at getting someplace way earlier than I need to be there.
- 41:29SPEAKER_10: And I do that because of traffic.
- 41:30SPEAKER_10: I worry about traffic, worry about different things as far as what might happen.
- 41:35SPEAKER_10: You know, I have employees that work for me currently that you know they're they're late.
- 41:39SPEAKER_10: Well, there was an accident on the road, or the traffic was bad.
- 41:42SPEAKER_10: Well, by golly, you should have anticipated that.
- 41:46SPEAKER_07: You should have anticipated by leaving 45 minutes early.
- 41:49SPEAKER_10: There you go.
- 41:50SPEAKER_10: But you can't clock in yet.
- 41:52SPEAKER_07: No, but you can't No, that's true.
- 41:55SPEAKER_07: And uh there are times when my anxiety makes me super, super early, and there's times when my ADHD makes me super, super late.
- 42:04SPEAKER_07: And uh I don't know.
- 42:06SPEAKER_07: I can't speak for every late person in the world.
- 42:07SPEAKER_07: All I know is that when I'm late, I feel horrible.
- 42:10SPEAKER_07: This is just a standing statement.
- 42:12SPEAKER_07: If I'm late to an event you invited me to, I already feel horrible about it.
- 42:16SPEAKER_10: Just so you know.
- 42:17SPEAKER_10: It's funny because our our standing time to record every day or every sun Saturday is uh one o'clock.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 42:23SPEAKER_10: And uh and and I some days I can tell.
- 42:26SPEAKER_10: I can tell some days you're early.
- 42:27SPEAKER_10: Other days, you know, ten minutes late, maybe fifteen.
- 42:31SPEAKER_10: It doesn't really matter because we're not on a set time frame.
- 42:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 42:34SPEAKER_07: But we're not Germans.
- 42:36SPEAKER_07: You know the d that's that's that's what's interesting too, if you ever take an anthropology class and learning like cultural differences and how being on the idea of a culture's on time is changes from culture to culture.
- 42:50SPEAKER_07: German.
- 42:50SPEAKER_07: If you're not there by the time you said you'd be there, you're deep dude.
- 42:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah, everybody thinks you're just not gonna show up.
- 42:57SPEAKER_07: Whereas like, I don't know, maybe more like Italy, they're like, Oh, you're fifteen minutes late, we don't care.
- 43:02SPEAKER_07: I don't know what that is.
- 43:05SPEAKER_07: You're a fifteen minutes late, uh, we don't care.
- 43:09SPEAKER_10: You know, I g I when we first started doing this, I used to watch my w clo watch all the time.
- 43:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 43:14SPEAKER_10: Okay, she should be here any minute.
- 43:16SPEAKER_10: You know, that kind of stuff.
- 43:17SPEAKER_10: Now it's I know we I know it's one o'clock.
- 43:19SPEAKER_10: I get the back door opened a few minutes before, and I let you know, hey, the back door's open, we're good to go.
- 43:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 43:26SPEAKER_10: The food's in their oven, you know, whatever the case may be.
- 43:30SPEAKER_07: I I I just want to say nine out of ten times if I'm late, it's literally because I just wasn't looking at the clock.
- 43:37SPEAKER_07: I will be at my house or Derek's house or wherever I'm at, planning the show, and I'm not looking at the clock, and then it's 1250, and I go, oh my god.
- 43:48SPEAKER_07: And then I jump in my car and I drive here, and I drive here fast.
- 43:53SPEAKER_10: I think what's funny is because today I think that very thing happened because I think I had a text from you at about five till, hey, I've got this, or something to that effect.
- 44:00SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:01SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I'm all for it.
- 44:02SPEAKER_10: Whatever you want.
- 44:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:04SPEAKER_07: And then I did that with Derek.
- 44:05SPEAKER_07: We were watching We were watching Airplane.
- 44:08SPEAKER_07: You know Airplanes?
- 44:09SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 44:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_07: Leslie Nielsen, and then we were watching the new Naked Gun, the one that came out last year, and it was really, really good.
- 44:19SPEAKER_07: And I was just laughing so hard, and then I look down at the clock and I'm like, Oh, once again, it is 1250.
- 44:24SPEAKER_07: It is time for me to go.
- 44:25SPEAKER_07: And then, of course, it takes me five minutes to grab all my stuff, and then it takes me five minutes to get here, and then whatever.
- 44:31SPEAKER_07: But yeah.
- 44:32SPEAKER_07: All that to say, this is the driving show.
- 44:34SPEAKER_07: And we're talking about driving.
- 44:36SPEAKER_10: Not driving each other crazy.
- 44:38SPEAKER_07: Though that is an aspect.
- 44:41SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play this a little bit of paramour now because we've been talking quite enough.
- 44:45SPEAKER_07: This is fast in my car.
- 44:48SPEAKER_07: This is me speeding to our recording setting.
- 44:51SPEAKER_07: Let's do it.
- 45:17SPEAKER_16: A couple times.
- 45:19SPEAKER_16: A came of cows and crew.
- 45:23SPEAKER_16: And also friends know this very well.
- 45:26SPEAKER_16: Because they went through a deal.
- 45:30SPEAKER_16: The thing that was written to deal.
- 45:34SPEAKER_16: We offered at the deal.
- 45:38SPEAKER_16: And we spotted a second dead.
- 45:41SPEAKER_16: We offered at the steel.
- 45:44SPEAKER_16: Hollowed out and filled up with hate.
- 45:47SPEAKER_16: All we want you to give us a break.
- 45:51SPEAKER_16: We bought the We gotta get on.
- 45:57SPEAKER_16: We just want to have fun.
- 46:23SPEAKER_16: We all know we all look all the way.
- 47:41SPEAKER_16: Alrighty proved we can tough it up.
- 47:44SPEAKER_16: And we get along so smoothly.
- 47:51unknown: We got the right gun.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: We try to flex in the car We try to fight to the car We try to fight in the car We just watch it, it's quite a fast stepping to my rest.
